Musc Noir For Her by Narciso Rodriguez is a fragrance for women. Musc Noir For Her was launched in 2021. The nose behind this fragrance is Sonia Constant. Top note is Plum; middle notes are Musk and Heliotrope; base note is Suede.

FOR HER MUSC NOIR captures a bold new femininity with elements of mystery and intrigue - a recognizable synthesis of sensuality and confidence.

Introducing for her MUSC NOIR, the new fragrance from Narciso Rodriguez, a tribute to the powerful mystique of a woman’s inner beauty and her innate sensuality. Inspired by the original for her, MUSC NOIR reinterprets and explores the deep mystery and eloquence of the iconic scent.

The collection continues to be inspired by women; each scent created to empower and reveal women’s innermost beauty with the transformative power of musc. The introduction of the original for her contributed to a new chapter in the history of fragrance. The modern chypre musc, a unique facet in the family of chypre fragrances, led for her to become an international phenomenon and a modern classic.

Narciso Rodriguez chose a rare musc oil to be at the heart of the original for her. Musc is not only addictive, but also surprisingly feminine and enduring in its earthly, warm powers of seduction; it captures and celebrates a woman’s core femininity and self-expression like no other scent. The for her collection transforms musc’s bold, yet subtle qualities to create a uniquely timeless scent for the women who inspire it.

The newest chapter in narciso rodriguez’s iconic for her fragrance collection, for her MUSC NOIR, is a statement about the endlessly mysterious nature of a woman’s sensuality. An exploration of musc’s raw power reveals a transcendent new fragrance that portrays the ever fascinating enigma of modern femininity. for her MUSC NOIR heightens the addictive nature of the original for her with an exploration of the darker, more intense aspects of narciso rodriguez’s signature musc.

“FOR HER MUSC NOIR HAS A MYSTERIOUSLY, DARK AND SEDUCTIVE QUALITY ABOUT IT THAT IS RARE AND UNIQUE.” NARCISO RODRIGUEZ

for her MUSC NOIR is presented in a completely translucent bottle, revealing the mystery within. Only a delicate pink juice, echoing the original for her, adorns the signature bottle while a black cap alludes to scent’s darker facets. The for her MUSC NOIR bottle is an object of pure artistry, radiating with a weightless intensity and a bold luminosity that celebrates the sublime fragrance within.

“To work with musc is a perfumer’s dream,” says MUSC NOIR perfumer, Sonia Constant. The composition of for her MUSC NOIR includes a darker musc with a rich olfactory depth, both mysterious and extremely sensual. Leathery suede accords transform the heart of musc and intensify the sinuous skin-on-skin sensuality of the fragrance. Along with the rich leather suede accords, the heart of musc is further emboldened with heliotrope and enhanced by white cedar and rose—a hint of lucious plum adds light and harmony. When for her MUSC NOIR is layered with for her PURE MUSC, it becomes an even more memorable statement, an experience of pure luxury—your personal signature scent.

“I STRIVE TO CREATE PERFUMES THAT ENHANCE AND REVEAL WOMEN, WITHOUT TRANSFORMING WHO THEY ARE. THE WOMAN I THOUGHT OF WHEN CREATING MUSC NOIR WAS A CONFIDENT WOMAN, A WOMAN WHO DARES TO TAKE RISKS.” SONIA CONSTANT

The campaign film explores what is both tangible and inexplicable about modern feminine grace, strength, and confidence. With their signature artistry, Inez & Vinoodh use a dramatic play of light and shadow to portray the magic of a women’s sensual confidence and self-professed power. Shot in brilliant tropical light, the campaign has an ethereal, dream-like quality composed of fragmented memories and precious moments that are beautifully mesmerizing. Pink accents recall the new bottle’s luminous glow, while the darker elements reflect the sensuality and mystery of musc.

The new face of for her MUSC NOIR, Lola Nicon, is a startlingly fresh beauty that’s both raw and refined—she draws you in with her unabashed sensuality and ineffable honesty that resonate powerfully from within. It is Lola Nicon’s visual reflections and sublime vulnerability that embodies the strength and sensuality of the women who inspired for her. Lola Nicon’s presence, both bold and enigmatic is captured in a series of captivating images that are otherworldly in their pure grace and poetic precision.

The opening I immediately get a fresh musk that feels clean and airy. This has a green, crisp aspect to it almost. I don't get much plum but I think the heliotrope is giving the crisp powdery musk effect. It's nice but doesn't really stand out to me. I think the powder stands out more than I would want in a musky scent. Longevity isn't that great though- it became an intimate projecting scent by around the 2 hour mark. I don't love it enough to reapply that often so it's not full bottle worthy for me.

Heliodora

Possibly my favorite from Narciso's musk line - the airy, aldehydic heliotrope note combined with a more heavy-set, yet still plushy suede note, is almost perfect. The NR signature musk is also very prominent. But as with all the NR musk fragrances, I am having performance issues - none of them really go beyond the 4 hour mark. However, I will say this one does have the strongest projection of the lot, at least at the start. Still debating if it's full bottle worthy.

vminie

Not much into musk scents so I wouldn't normally buy this. But, because I got a sample I put it on randomly and I just initially thought the first spray was floral and citrusy. I was out the whole day and I kept thinking what was that smell, it's just so good? It's musky in a non-offensive way and it's got this nice powdery dry down to it. The kind of powdery smell I wanted (sadly, I bought Poudre' because of this but it was too cloying for me). It sat well on my skin and as I've said I kept asking what perfume sample did I try on that day because I could smell myself so longevity was not a problem. It's lovely and elegant. Safe to wear to the office or to a date to a park (and you want to smell just right - not too overpowering and not too floral that you could pass off as one of the flower beds)

Elsee

Bought this back in January of this year. Wasn't impressed. HOWEVER, I decided to give it another try now that it's warmer and has had a few months to adapt to the dry high desert climate, and it's like a different fragrance! I love it. The transformation is incredible! Maybe it just needed time.... Whatever magic took place, it's just stunning now. Glad I found the patience to see if we would become friends. Yep. Besties. Love it.

FYI -- I can see the Poison resemblance now too. It's a very light comforting nuance of the original Poison....fabulous!

Maya lilac

Sweet, clean, soft, powdery, cocooning, white musk with plum and heliotrope. A very comforting, easy reach, but very smart executed fruity musky scent.

If you’re looking for a good plum perfume with minimal floral notes and a touch of delicate suede, this is a perfect choice. While it’s a very simple scent profile it’s very versatile and can be easily worn as a signature type of scent, no matter the season!

Sonia Constant created for Narciso Rodriguez some of the best clean, minimalistic, white musk perfumes which are very fairly priced. I really think that’s her strong suit, because I sampled last year from her own brand, Ella K, Musk K, and it’s gorgeous. But it’s very expensive for a 50 ml bottle!
This is not a dupe for Musk K, that’s not what I saying here. They share the same scent profile but go into different directions because of the distinctive notes combined with the musk.

For an everyday, chilled occasions, I think that Narciso’s Musc Noir For Her would do the job for me without breaking the bank!

ManoChrome

My first encounter with NR and an unexpected winner. I am not a fan of musky scents, but this one is so velvety and embracing that I couldn't stop sniffing it. It is not overwhelming, won't cause headaches or turn all the heads, but it gives a timeless and efortless elegance I really like.

liebeparfum

Not a fan of NR perfumes usually but this one stands out! It has this sweet plumy scent which is unique as I've never smelled something like this before. I can smell myself with it which is a good sign and indicates that others can too. Overall it's a beautiful perfume but I wouldn't say it's a safe blind buy, you should definitely try it out before purchasing.

MotoChick

Does anyone else get a smell similar to the children's book "Pat the Bunny" where you scratch and sniff the flowers? Lol
The scent they use for the books has probably changed over the years. The one I'm remembering is from the 90's. Very nostalgic, I love it.

niviuq

This perfume is magic! It's the only Narciso Rodriguez perfume I can say I'm completely in love with. It's delicate, crystalline... For my taste, it has just the right projection. When I read reviews saying it doesn't last, it surprises me; I think that has a lot to do with each person's ability to perceive subtleties. I can smell it on myself all day long. However, it doesn't have a kilometric projection, so if you're looking for that type of perfume, you better forget about this one. It will enchant those who want to impress people within a meter's distance.

scnofthcrime

This to me is a "cool girl" fragrance. A clean musk and plum over a bed of suede. Leather and suede notes are ones I typically struggle with, but this is one of the few suede forward fragrances that smells good to me. Compared to most of the gourmand bombs being released these days, this is quite dry by comparison, but it's such a mood. Beautifully musky and office safe, but would still be fitting at home snuggling on the couch. I could also see someone wearing this to a yoga or Pilates class and pairing well with the vibes of those kinds of classes. I don't think this is too feminine for a guy to pull off (insert the usual statement that ultimately people should wear whatever makes them happy), it's not a butch scent by any means, but if any guys out there are into soft, musky suede scents they should give this one a sniff.

Defina

Truly polite and office-friendly scent - it did smell soapy at first, but I like that scent profile. It smells clean and beautiful. I would describe it as powdery and almondy, I don't know why more people don't mention the almond. Very unique, my favorite office perfume for spring. It doesn't really last on me, 3-4h.

Turkish_delight

Smells like honeyed plums in a suede coat. Similar to MNR but not as sweet. The suede is killer, this is gorgeous.

Blossomlove

I was really surprised to not see a spice note in here because there is something spicy in this. It's not quite cinnamon, not quite cardamom, closer to ginger, but if you were to swirl all three of these together and add a tincture to the perfume compiling of 1-2% of the fragrance, that's what I'm smelling from the top. I get all the other notes, a strong plum, a creamy heliotrope, the NR musk, and a really soft, suede note kin to Jo Malone's suede. This seems like a good fall/winter scent but it can be worn year round. It's light and inoffensive, perfect for work, church, meeting the parents. Anytime you want a clean, smooth, light, inoffensive fragrance, this would be a good go-to. At the same time, it's personally satisfying and not boring. I'm loving that spicy note and the suede note the most. It's definitely FB worthy. I bought this and Musc Noir Rose and at first, I liked this way more than Noir Rose until I sprayed them on the skin. MNR needs to be on the skin to be judged fairly. This one smelled fantastic and delightful both on paper and on skin. I get about 5-6 hours of wear with this one with a silage of an arm's length.

Caroline D.

I tried scrubbing this off but to no avail, so good news for those who like this scent profile: it's a strong perfume! The scent itself is, in my opinion, not bad in and off itself, but at the same time there is something oldschool (?) and offputting about it. Not for me, but each to their own! (I do like White Musk from the Body Shop, so I don't seem to averse to musk itself, just this NR take on it.)

sofiebgoode

For those of you who get a vague familiarity or 90s nostalgia from this: could it be CKbe? It reminds me of it - at least as long as i don't compare them side by side. When i do, i find musc noir a lot warmer. still very suitable for spring and summer, but CKbe is a lot more summery and citrusy. I think they're both great. I can see myself wearing musc noir a lot more often though, it's probably more versatile. And soo beautiful.

saramariah

This was really love at first sniff for me😍 Oh my gosh!!
I didnt think twice about buying it and im on my second bottle now and will definately buy more when it runs out. I pray to God this one doesnt get discontinued or reformulated🙏🙏

bandlgertrude

I absolutely love this. I bought a "dupe" from Azerbaijan and once I finished it, I bought the full big bottle of Muse Noir from NR. The musc in this might be the most beautiful musk I've ever smelled. The plum adds a bit of fruitiness but not in a sweet sickly way (like in Hypnotic Poison edt). I don't really reach for clean girl scents, but I have a true weakness for this one. I have not tried the Rose one because I'm not a fan of rose, I prefer this version.

Suncica7

I thought this must be heaven. People smelling it say- soup, shower gel, but to me it is nothing like that. There is the dirtiness probably in the suede, and the plum smells nostalgic, 90s like, heaven, and the musk is a must have for me. BUT BUT BUT... God, the minute after it hits the skin- not a thing. I do not feel anything, I can't smell anything. It is SO WEAK makes me so angry.

What can I do... I will wait till summer. But I do not have high hopes even then. What a sadness.. I thought this is the only fragrance that can parry the OG Dolce Gabbbana, red cap. Though they have nothing in common. At all. Just to my nose, the two most beautiful perfumes.

One of the Best Day, Office, "My Skin But Better" Scents

I recently purchased some samples of many different perfumes and also added a sample of Musc Noir For Her by NR, one of the very few Narciso perfumes I hadn't smelled, and yes, I like this one as well. It is a "my skin but better" fragrance, a "no-perfume perfume".

It is by far the most toned down from the For Her collection, it has a fruitness from the plum in the opening, but not juicy-like, but jam plum after some minutes it becomes very slightly flowery and vanilla-y with the slightest touch of almonds and after an hour or two it settles down in the most gorgeous skin-like powdery, creamy musk with suede. If someone wants a clean perfume without the soapy/deodorant/shampoo feeling you are here.

I have seen people complain about longevity, but I don't think it's the issue here. Personally, I could still smell it for a solid 7-8 hours after I sprayed it on myself, BUT the sillage is very very intimate. VERY intimate, put your nose on my skin intimate, I could smell it on me, but people around me didn't give it any thought except if they were extremely close to the point of touching me. And this is where Noir comes into play I think. When I first sprayed it on I was so confused with the name Noir, that inclines you towards a darker/ night perfume and this ain't it, but it is an intercourse perfume for sure. It smells so good and so clean and skin-likecreamy powder, but also sweet and slightly fruity, that if you are intimate with someone it will be detectable and they will enjoy it. It is Noir because it's perfect for personal night activities, not for a night out and the bottle/color I think supports that, white/rosy/nude, undetectable and sleek.

Loved it, my favorite from the For Her line, I am thinking of a bigger bottle. Not for people who want statement perfumes, perfumes that cling and perfumes with sillage.

L'égyptienne

My journey with NR Musc noir start on fall 2022, as i bought it with Musc Noir Rose at the same time from Adids Abba duty free-btw it's a very good place to buy authentic designers perfumes and some niche such as Amougae with a price less than Dubai or Doha duty free.

For the first month, i was always comparing between the both EDPs, so based the weather started to get cold at this period Musc Noir Rose wins the performance as a winter scent as well in term of longetivity and i found i couldn't small musc noir after 30-60 mins of spraying.
Then i knew about a trick from tick tock, to remove the cap of the bottle and put the bottle in a dark place such as my closet.
One month after the magic began and this frgrance growing on me even i have finished 2 bottles of 50 ml.
It's my first plum fragrance and now i found i am looking for this note at every fragrance composition.

As NR EDT was my first love of this collection of her- and i am still using it and restocking it when it finish, but Musc noir - and despite it's "her strength" as per the designer vision- i find it " her tendress and her charming simplicity "

Jehan888

Smells good but very weak and doesn’t last long. Smells very similar to Burberry Brit EDT to me. I like the Musc Noir ROSE better! Actually wanted to buy that but wasn’t paying attention and bought this by mistake instead 🤣😫☹️

Beatrice

I just purchased Musc Noir days after sampling it in duty free. I sprayed it in the fold of my elbow. At first it’s a beautiful crystalline juice of plum and musc which last less than 2 minutes when turns dark , the air is heavy with warm wind , almost like sand being blown by wind , still feminine and now it’s a good 2+ hours and we are back with the more crystalline scent, less plum than the opening, it’s like I just showered but my skin remembers the warm sand at the beach… I only used 2 sprays. I might have to update.

Flared Maple

Super beautiful fragrance. Its quite spicy and reminds me of mulled wine.

However.

This smells like straight BO on me after an hour. It has this sour tinge to it, combined with the musk which reads like old sweat on me. Its so sad. I think its a personal thing, but it made me uncomfortable the whole day.

Mariana_1965

Sophistication in a bottle. Longevity is weak but the frangrance is so beautiful I’m willing to overlook this and reapply.

giuliana_b

I really love this. The musk is prominent but not overwhelming like in Pure Musc. My only problem with it is that it has very weak longevity.

zokhruf.omer

Musc noir layered with Mon guerlain intense. 'nuff said. You're welcome.

frulya

Omg, it`s one of the sexiest perfumes(to my nose) I`ve ever smelled! I had tried it back in spring and only bought it yesterday. I wasn`t sure whether I should buy Musc Noir Rose, as it`s more popular, or this one. MNR seems to have better longevity. But MN is calmer and cozier, and not that sweet. My female friend said it smells floral. I can`t really pick any notes but to me, it`s a musky fragrance. It makes me want to wear it and go on a date with someone special. It lasts about 3-4 hours on my skin but I spray it on my hair and clothes for better performance

mothtoaflame___

PURE SEX.
So well done.
Can’t wait to wear it “for” my sweetheart.

Sigh....blind buy, on sale at Macy's with a coupon, etc. Received a 3 oz. bottle, a travel bottle and a small lotion for the great price of $62! Wow right? ...ugh, wrong. First, the big bottle doesn't smell like anything! The lotion doesn't say Musc Noir so I'm thinking it's just the OG...and the travel bottle was down about 3/4 of an inch. Travel spray had a tad more ooph than the large bottle but still very faint. I just don't believe NR perfumes are faint so, I think it was either a tester or someone returned it and switched out the lotion. I really don't know but I will say I am disappointed. Buyer beware of a reduced price for sure.

I can't submit a fair review of this perfume unfortunately. I hope all of you who got a great bottle -- enjoy the journey! I'm sure it's a stunning perfume just based on the notes and the brand! All my others from NR are gorgeous!!

Creamybbybrie

I am on my second bottle of this Fragrance. I was originally going to buy Musc Noir Rose but when I smelled this one I fell in love and changed my mind, decided to buy the normal Musc Noir instead and I love this so much. This is such a happy fragrance for me and really highlights how sometimes we find a fragrance that evokes a specific memory for us. When i first wore this I about cried because it smelled like memories of my grandma and spending time at her small house. She lived in a house that had that musky basementy scent with sweet leathery furniture scents and would always bring home plums as a snack for me and my cousin. Now when I taste or smell plum especially deep jammy plums like this one it reminds me of her and I've been obsessed with plum scents since. It is scary how specific and exact this perfume smells for me like this memory of her. The plum, the musk, the leathery suede, even the slight floral scent of flowers outside of the house as you walk in to hug her. (It also smells a bit like dr. pepper weirdly enough).

The major downside to this perfume for me is the longevity, it only lasts about 3 hours on my skin. Although I'd like to be able to smell like this all the time I don't mind not being able to, there's something beautiful about how fleeting it is and the slight musk it leaves when its gone just like my memory. I shower in the evening, and then spritz this on and let it comfort me until I sleep, then by morning she's gone and I can wear whatever fragrance I want for the day.

Happycamel

I don't like this. The plum is ok but it's very strong on me and I haven't been able to completely scrub it off my wrist (not for the want of trying!)
I get a powdery note and a weird skanky note but no musk. Smells cheap and the skank is yuck. I smelled a similar note in a different perfume I couldn't stand, may have been SJP Lovely? Anyway it's a hard no from me.

*sophi*

This one reminds me of my beloved Loulou by Cacharel in a very modern vision of it! C est moi!

villiruusut

I was very hesitant to try the NR perfumes for the longest time because modern musky perfumes seemed to give me headaches. I've smelt them off paper strips and had never been keen enough to try them on skin but somehow decided to give Musc Noir and Musc Noir Rose a go because of the latter's hype. I had each one sprayed on the insides of my elbow and went about my day.

At the end of the day plus a sweaty ballet class, MN triumphed and gave me a "my skin but better" kind of vibe. I've looked for this in Glossier's You but it's never really felt like "me". Maybe it was being in ballet gear - the standard leather and suede of ballet shoes and amber/powderiness of the rosin - but it was perfect. It probably helps that I love heliotrope notes in perfumes too.

Between the two, the rose flanker felt too commercial and honestly forgettable. With all the hype it gets on social media as well, it's probably permeating the streets more often than I realise.

I sat on Musc Noir for a few weeks because I already have a musky perfume in Santa Maria Novella's Muschio Oro but that one smells incredibly soapy and seems to only work best in certain weathers. But I found myself pondering over getting a full bottle and eventually took the dive.

I also received a free sample of Pure Musc together with the full bottle but that opens a lot sharper and gives me a headache. The drydown for that smells too much like laundry detergent.

Uncomplicated, cosy and pretty easy to wear for a dressed-down day where I'm not in the mood for a loud perfume. I really like Musc Noir a lot more than I'd initially anticipated and would recommend this to people who are looking for skin scents that don't come off like deodorant smells (fresh, citrusy, watery florals, etc.).

wfixxx

honestly, I am still appalled that this is not the scent that everybody is talking about on TikTok. It's so much better than Musc Rose Noir, which has that vintage, peppery rose note that is absolutely unnecessary and kinda ruins the perfume—though it is still a lovely fragrance.
Musc Noir smells like sugared plums and a hint of musk. It is so so cosy, it instantly boosts my mood. I feel like it is very linear, though. It stays the same from the beginning to the end, which I guess, for some people, is a plus. Alsooo, the alleged skankiness is very much true!! I have no idea what exactly the cause is, but for three or so minutes, there is a distinct farty smell

deauxBabs

cosy and alluring

juniperlilacs

Cosy sensuality. A little bit sweet and little bit dirty. Not as dark as the name suggests, the heliotrope is a summer evening, the musk over suede is a tad sweaty but still makes you want to touch, and the overall impression is of a scent that is well worn-in. Like the whole thing is dry-down. There’s nothing fresh about this, which is oddly refreshing? It’s neither day nor night, but the long slow slide between the two. A familiar seduction that leaves you comfortably sticky. The smell of sex right before bed time with your long term partner.

jess_M

This scent is just divine. This is not similar to the original For Her EDP, it's different but equally good!
The original for her is like a soft powdery pink rose musk scent. Musc Noir on my skin gives me creamy white florals mixed with a polite + mild plum note to give it character. For those who are cautious of leather notes, don't be afraid of this fragrance, it is not that. The plum mixes with very soft background notes of suede + white cedar. Not animalic at all, just adds to the roundness of the perfume.
This is just another well put together narciso fragrance. It does not have great lasting power compared to the original For Her EDP, however it's light enough that you could probably spray it all over yourself and drown in it's deliciousness and it wouldn't be too much. I am in Australia and it's summer time and I think this fragrance is just what I was looking for when I was trying to avoid the stereotypical citrus based summer fragrances. I like this fragrance so much that even its linear quality is not too much of a downer.
I am curious to see if this would hold more or change at all in combination with Pure Musc as suggested by the perfumers.
Yum 👌

I also bought Musc Noir Rose to compare, see my review over on that page for the differences 🌹

tedidi

I had a tester of it a few years ago. It smells at first not so bad, but after a few hours it smells like old store or a shoemaker's place. I usually like musky perfume but I don't get any musk. It's a no from me.

ljsmith

Easy reach feminine, inoffensive, soft floral with a hint of musk. It’s great for when I don’t want to overthink my scent for the day.

The only thing (stop booing! I can’t hear you!) is for some reason I associate this scent with a bathroom. Like commercial pink hand soap or scented toilet paper or scented feminine products. I am transported to the (perfectly clean!) girls bathroom at my elementary school. I’m also reminded a little of Mon Guerlain without the lavender.

I don’t think anyone else associates it with such things though so I wear it with confidence and it doesn’t bother me! I just probably wouldn’t repurchase.

vtothek

I blind bought this based on reviews, and on my skin it’s just alright.

I don’t get any plum at all, and strangely not even that much musk! It’s very floral on me with just a hint of suede, which I was not expecting at all. That being said it is a pleasant fragrance, but on me it smells like soap or freshly shampooed hair, nothing particularly special. For something with the word ‘noir’ in the name I was expecting something a little bit more sultry and sexy. This is honestly just a nice and somewhat simple daytime scent. I do think this could work in pretty much any season or climate.

I like it well enough, but I can’t see myself reaching for this super often. This would work well for a job interview though.

Dawnya7b

I have had music noir rose for over a year and decided I want something less sweet so I blind bought this. It smells very similar to mnr but no heavy vanilla. I like it.

Jen42

This is a lovely light perfume. Goes on slightly skanky but that dissipates within a few minutes and it becomes somewhat reminiscent of a very light version of Dior’s original poison and Cacharel’s LouLou with an added creaminess and musky softness. It’s a cozy, light and inoffensive everyday perfume, however is seems to disappear quite quickly, which could just be me getting used to it and not smelling it on myself but for for price, i’d expect it to last a bit longer. I love Narciso perfumes, but they discontinued my favourites, Poudree and the white cube simply called Narciso were just perfect.

Musc Noir opened a new chapter in my fragrance journey. This has been my signature scent for more than a year, and the most complimented one ever.
I mostly wore fruity and citrusy scents in my teens, inoffensive florals in my twenties - I used to wear perfumes making sure they did not attract too much attention. Musc Noir isn't a heavy scent either, but it definitely makes an impression on people. Men seem to have an urge to comment on it, as if they had an instinctive reaction to this scent. Ever since I found this one, I've been all for dark, sensual and mysterious fragrances that don't go unnoticed.

It is seductive, I like the suede in it, but the floral and fruity notes make it light and clean at the same time. When I wear it, I feel like a moderate and decent woman with a secret dark side. The musk contributes to both the good girl and the bad girl vibe I think. Suitable for the office and date nights, too. Becomes a skin scent on me quickly, however, it lasts longer on my clothes.

NR Musc Noir Rose is considered to be the sexier of the two, but I found that too sweet and overbearing, I prefer this one much much more.

disintigratedwoman

I passed over this one for a long time and I'm not sure why. It's absolutely stunning. Sensual, feminine and mysterious, all while being soft about it, not loud. The ultimate 'your skin but better' scent, without the screechy notes I've noticed in others.

From the beginning this starts off quite musk-forward (very similar to Narciso's Pure Musk) rounded out with plum and some florals. As it warms up on the skin, it becomes softer, warmer and more complex. It blends with your natural scent and gives off the most *beautiful* sillage - people will wonder why you smell so good, but not know what it is.

Longevity is great - I applied at 9 am and by 5 pm (leaving work), I could still smell it quite clearly on my wrist.

This would make an excellent signature scent, and I can see it working for pretty much all seasons apart from the hottest days of summer. The mid temperatures of spring and fall are likely the times of the year when the scent would work best (I've noticed Narciso's perfumes work best on my skin during those seasons).

Of course anyone can wear this, but I see this working best on a woman between the ages of 30 and 40, who is kind but holds her ground, intelligent, with a tad of mystery to her.

My partner is quite picky when it comes to scents, and he said he liked this one quite a bit. I may just have to add this one to my collection :)

Filolek3037

Veeerryy Sensual, sexy and a bit dark but in a soft way. if you aren’t happy with the performance then leave it to macerate…it did help my juice!
Men seem to love it as I already caught some curious glances (if that’s what you are looking for in a perfume)

Adventurous Scent Chaser

ladies, please wear this. this smells fantastic. I just asked a friend and it turns out she wears this. such an attractive, pretty young lady scent.

qianqian

Wasn't quite sure in the opening. Smelled like face cream in the 90s. The drydown became wonderful.

Suncica7

This is heavenly womanly scent. It is an aura. It is a whole person this scent. You smell it and you KNOW YOU HAVE MET before, in your childhood, it is familiar and extremely sensual as well. Familiarity in the best way, it does not belong to nowadays era of perfumes.
Musc behaves magically with my chemistry, and I have worn Narciso before, had few signature fragrances - i cannot think of one that did not sweep me off my feet.
But this is level up comparing to the cubes, it is darker, it is less powdery if not at all powdery, more floral, but not transparent or thin or attack floral, it is musc to the core. It is refined, little retro, very grown up, very perfumery, not for the beginners with perfumes, nothing sweet, nothing mainstream.

It is not loud- it does not have to be, it is a statement, it has its own strength, the natural dominance that never has to raise the voice. CLASSY. It is not attention seeking, mass pleasing, yet, it grabs attention. It is not for everyone, and it is not my boom choice of a fragrance although it is boom.
You can wear it all day, it is sexy but not disturbing sexy that you cannot do your job while wearing it.
It is amazing... expensive, smells luxury, old money, femininity.
For a woman who has stepped in her new age of being a woman- when a 20 sth girl enters 30 and has done a lot of self work and is spiritual, and is not toxic driven -as much as that is possible, coz she is still so young but has an old sould and inherited dignity which make her behave and do in this world with grace, kindness and mercy. The value you can't buy but earn through soul seeking, self confidence with really understanding the love and humanity and God.

ava96

The top notes are very nice, a nice clean musk as per the usual NR, but that leather base note is killing me. It smells like burnt tires on my skin and I really don't like it.
Edit: Okay, the drydown was beautiful, the tyre smell eased off and I really enjoyed it. I still would prefer some of the other musks by NR but it is also really nice.

Casbag11

Musc noir is uplifting and a sexy skin scent that lasts moderately on my skin… puts me in a good mood… I layered this with the new Burberry goddess and they compliment well… adds a hint of sweetness to balance the clean musk. Musc noir rose is nice to but it’s a little heavy for me to wear during the day… I reach for Musc noir more

rinrinlovesrinrin

these are still available at department stores if anyone needs to test them! 😅 i was going to blind-buy musc noir rose but i had a feeling i would enjoy the uncomplicated musk more (also the number of youtube reviews that prefer the edt as opposed to edp and then i winded up feeling the opposite, and then mostly they prefer musc noir rose....) so i tested them against my skin (they smell like nothing at all on the blotter cards, musk perfumes!) ...as well as pure musc and the for her edt. now very sure of myself when i say, i don't think i experience perfumes the same as the majority of people or at least the majority of perfume reviewers on youtube. with the exception of one person, literally every review comparing musc noir and musc noir rose has chosen musc noir rose 🌹 because it's a bit more dark and a sweeter, deeper fragrance. i definitely agree about the depth of the perfume itself, but i gotta say musc noir has this sort of like..... 'wtf... is that a perfume? ... why.....' aroma about it that is just a tad shy of smelling like pure musk and animalic notes in a bottle. it's an unusual scent but most ppl would be anosmic to its peculiarities. at times it smells like nothing at all, and it doesn't smell particularly pretty but it smells so damn good to me...... for the life of me, i can't imagine how this is recommended as "work friendly".

the suede is just for the texture it seems. maybe not, i wouldn't know the difference but that suede note worried me at first. i thought i would not be able to carry this perfume well, but as it turns out, it's just the right amount of a weird type of texture in a neutral (not warm, not cold) and musky, a bit sweet, animalic and just absolute perfection to me. this is right up there with the for her edp, and i feel it's like the night-time version of it. if you're thinking you're going to get musc noir rose minus rose, not even something reminiscent of it. i think musc noir rose smells more "gothy".... it smells like how i would imagine a funeral home to smell, or a conjuring, unfortunately within the range of dark, rose perfumes.... i wouldn't consider it unique or transcending all expectations of what a deep rose perfume would be (also i just don't feel it's the best 'dark' perfume for me which will massively affect my take on it) . it's awesome, but musc noir to me is perfect. not everyone's cup of tea, but perfect for my personal preference. 🖤🧸🎀

also the comparisons to pure musc are so off to me unless the only aspect they're talking about is the musk and musk alone. what's odd is that this immediately reminded me of the drydown of dragee by reminiscence les notes gourmandes. what on earth.... then it became its own perfectly grimey concoction. i adore this fragrance. those who experience this scent in the same way are either a blessed or cursed few. there's no in-between, hopefully.

igalmusic

This is stunning 😍 Such a unique scent, it's like you wearing a second skin. Very sensual scent. Definitely not as scratchy as the rest of Narciso perfumes, now I need to try Musc Noir Rose.
It's not similar to Lou Lou at all, not sure why people compare this one to vintage perfumes...To me it smells like you spread some luxury body lotion on the piece of suede, it's not a super projecting scent, more of a close to skin. But I still love it! The best from all Narciso fragrances

Woodamber

A soft scent with notes of musk and plum and a big dose of heliotrope!
I can't smell its alledged similarity to Poison by Dior. It was those comparisons that got me intrigued with Musc Noir. Instead I think it reminds me more of LouLou by Cacharel. Mostly because I smell so much heliotrope in Musc Noir. Which is also one of all the dominating floral notes of LouLou. There is also a note of plum in LouLou. So I guess I get the similiarity from the blend of plum and heliotrope.
Yet in comparison, Musc Noir feels like a more plain and "safe" version. It is much softer and has a intimate sillage on my skin. It feels gothic like LouLou but more like a whisper than a shout.
I do enjoy this one alot and I wear it often as a daytime scent. It smells soft and elegant. I wear it when I want something that reminds a little of my favourite scents from the 80's yet is inoffensive and won't suffocate my co-workers.
It has also gotten me some compliments when I have least expected it.

Caladhiel

This is such a nostalgic scent for me but I can't for the life of me remember which scent it reminds me of (if any). I'm just getting images of older homes with classic furniture typical of 80s/90s home decoration in my country.

As for the scent and notes, it has a very prominent, very sweet, syrupy plum note + leather (not dirty at all, almost fluffy). This is my first impression.

Glena

I have tested it on my skin today, I cannot smell any plum or any sweetnes in it. On my skin it is dirty-animalic, slightly flowery-powdery scent, but it's strangely addictive. I have my nose glued to my arm and sniff this sexy dirtyness all the time.
It reminds me of L'Été en douce by Artisan Parfumeur, eventhough the notes are very different.

Binst145

That plum note is prominent and stays for a good while! It is not too sweet, quite nice, I like it. Just an inoffensive fruity musk fragrance that sits fairly close to my skin and lasts decently.

Hayriye

I love this perfume! It is quite sweet because of the plum notes but the suede note makes it a bit more fresh, so it's not overly sweet imo. It is a very inoffensive perfume you can wear to your work, but I also wear it in the evenings when I go out and I received a lot of compliments! The sillage is moderate as well as the longevity.

Jscents39

Man I really tried to like a Narcisco Rodriguez perfume, but to me all their musks are too sharp/perfumey and not soft musks. I thought this was a lighter one based on reviews, but I had to rub it off because it was making me nauseous. Also very..dated. I feel like it’s something my Grandma used to wear.

Kasulwa

This is the worst fragrance (probably even worse than Chanel) in my collection

I don’t mind intimate sillage but a perfume with an hours worth of longevity at this price point is daylight robbery.

I only bought it as a placeholder for my favourite plum, suede perfume- Rogue by Rihanna which is not available anywhere anymore, I’m using my 75ml bottle very sparingly.

I regret buying this perfume.

I much rather prefer musc noir rose even though it’s not the suede profile I’m after.

jz98lb

A common thing I feel with perfumes is that I would buy one I like, wear it for a few days or weeks, then pick out a note or characteristic that either bothers or discourages me.

This perfume is one that I can never stop smelling. I literally get the urge to just take the lid off and smell it here and there. It is beautiful, warm, homey - brings me a lot of happiness.

If it wasn't for performance issues this would be my everyday scent without a doubt. However, I feel like when you first spray, it performs amazing for an hour or two tops, then it becomes more intimate and difficult to detect. I am still looking for a perfume with the perfect mix of muskiness and performance.

Regardless, I feel everyone should experience this scent at least once. If you wear it at the right time, on a cooler day with a soft breeze you can definitely get the most out of it. I will personally never stop repurchasing simply because of the feeling it gives me.

cheleine

This reminds me a lot of Musc Noir Rose. It doesn’t have that jammy deep and sexy rose or that extra powdery sweetness. This one feels more light and clean yet still remains sexy and it blends perfectly with your skin.
I don’t always like the musc in Narciso Rodriguez perfumes. Sometimes they can get a bit too much, smell like clothes detergent or smell too mature on me.
Not this one or Musc Noir Rose. I really like this line.
Unfortunately, Musc Noir doesn’t have the best performance.

amgenus2015

This is a relatively in offensive scent. I can see a wide range of women being attracted to this perfume; however, it did not stand out enough for me.

I almost felt like I could barely smell it, and I usually love skin scents.

annikahuhd

I really like the scent - it's clean and comfortable. But unfortunately on me, the lasting power is very poor even when overspraying :( I'll probably use this after shower and going to bed but won't be buying again unless the performance gets better over time (like some comments suggest).

// It's been over 2 months and the performance hasn't got any better. I'll use this as a bedtime and gym scent but won't repurchase :(

Gothicandgourmand

Blind bought a 100ml of this and am not disappointed!
Oh this is beautiful! I made a mistake at first by spraying it too close to my wrist to try it and decided it was in your face hairspray sweet. This morning I held it further away and misted it over me and it is absolutely stunning.
Leather notes generally amp up on my skin and smell like burning tyres, however the suede not in this is so perfectly mixed it just provides a soft warm base. The plum is rich and reminiscent of the plum in Venezia by Laura Biagotti.
On my skin this is warm spicy plummy musk and I absolutely love it!

kittenpawz

Nice and clean soapy smell, the opening is interesting (to me as a plum lover especially) but the dry down is nothing to write home about. I prefer an impressive dry down to an exciting opening personally. But it's refreshing and comforting, I'll give it that. Kind of like getting out of jacuzzi in your hotel suite and putting on one of those huge white robes. Smells cold to me. Bright Crystal and Bright Crystal Absou, although not really similar, have the same expensive floral fresh soapiness to them.

Lillys18

Really wanted to like this one, but the first time I tried this it reminded me of an anti mosquito spray that I bought in Asia. Very special fragrance, definitely not for everyone in my opinion.

Selenity

I feel like this fragrance has been popular for a long while now so I wanted to try it since everyone seems to be love with it.

Definitely not a fan. I don’t think there is anything the least bit special about this. I get plum, rose, and vanilla. I feel like I could have appreciated a violet note in this scent profile rather than a rose one. It’s fruity, lightly sweet, something between airy and lactonic, smooth, and feminine. It kind of gives me Good Girl vibes. You’ll like this if you can appreciate a more muted jammy rose.

Silverbell

One of my favorite brands. I looooove the musc in all of his perfumes. This is a mysterious scent. I'm in love with the leather and plum. It's so warm and cozy on my skin with a bit of leather to make it smokey. It smells nothing like other perfumes I've loved before. I bought it blindly online because I loved the look of the bottle. I usually wear this one at night because I like fresher perfumes during the daytime. It could be worn during the daytime too but I'm too shy for that lol.

Lovescents3

This is such a beautiful scent. Not too sweet and more to it than just musk. This is my favourite among all of the Narciso Rodriguez.

Very versatile. I enjoy wearing to bed, to work, during the day or out at night. Comforting, pretty and feels sexy too. Definitely feminine. Would be interesting if a man wanted to wear it. I think the suede in the base gives it some weight.

Highly recommend because it’s so likable and versatile. I wouldn’t be without it in my collection.

Jmalone84

The dry down 3+ hours in is SO good. Clean, warm, fuzzy. One spray and was loving the scent trail. Well done and very appealing. Love this and musc noir rose. I was worried I might not like it or be able to smell it as I am often anosmic to some smells. I suspect some of the below reviewers may be slightly anosmic to it as one spray for me had ample sillage and really quite impressive longevity. There was a touch of something sour in the mid notes that I wasn’t sure about. I sprayed portrait of a lady on my other wrist after and narciso by far is the strongest compared to 3 sprays of POAL.

Update: 8 hours in, this is the ultimate warm, clean, fluffy, powdery and sweet concoction. Absolute perfection.

Lotte_Liese

As I tested this, I kept nodding and repeating 'very nice'.
It is a very nice fragrance, not spectacular, but certainly not masculine leaning. It is clean, powdery and made deliciously fruity by the juicy plum.

httrung32

I heard some reviewers said it smelt unisex, and after looking at the notes, I think it was quite what I would like to wear. So I bought a 10 ml small bottle. Tbh, I did not think I would wear much of it. First impression, I smelt at the atomizer, skanky musk, smelt like poop with floral notes lol, I thought this would be atrocious for me. I left it there. A few months later, I was hungover from the previous night, I decided to give it another try. I sprayed two sprays on my clothes before going to the gym. To my surprise, it smelled completely different. No more poop-alike musk but more like a soft floral, powdery, suede-like scent that is elegant and unisex. It had a moderate projection and lasted for hours on my clothes. It smelled very professional and sophisticated. I think I will wear it to the gym, brunches, idk, spa day, and definitely to work sometimes when I feel the feminine side in me is rising, Chanel Platinum Egoiste is for the cocky day lol.

smellslikecoffee

I really wanted to like the smell. The reviews are very positive plus it was recommended by a friend. I received a free sample, so I tried it on my skin. Unfortunately I must be one of the few people that really do not like it. It sends me right back ages (>40 years) ago being hugged by an old aunt, that apparently smelled exactly like this. Must be a very old frag by now. I looked into the ´reminds me of´ section, but couldn´t find it.

elfette

I blind bought this perfume and when I first sprayed it, and I wasn't very happy with it. I have since left this perfume in a dark drawer for 5 months and when I came back to it, the smell was much better. The smells blend together better and the floral/heliotrope scent is less harsh. It has become such a pretty and feminine scent that sticks close on your skin. It works better on skin as opposed to clothes. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and recommend it!

reginasiena

My favorite is Pure Musc For Her and when I tried this one I am quite dissapointed about the sillage and longevity compare to Pure Musc. I love the suede notes, give extra depth and warmth. The plum spread creaminess that completed the musk. But I need to super overspray to smell it. I will try to layered it.

cathyjh

I quite enjoy Pure Musc, I was interested in the notes in this one and was expecting good things, but unfortunately on me I get something that smells like dirty tuberose! I’m aware it’s not mentioned in the notes, but it’s all I can smell 🥲. Since Tuberose is my fragrance enemy….it’s a big no from me.

Kilka

Ive gotten quite a few compliments whilst wearing it, it does smell feminine, a bit floral and fresh to me. Longevity is really good. Its not too sweet and smells like a young woman in her 20s to me.

marchat

@perfumeaddiction. I thought the same thing at first. Let it sit for about 2 months. It smells better and the longevity improves.

perfumeaddiction

This is truly lovely but I am questioning now if my perfume is the real deal. It is fairly weak with next to no longevity. Anyone else noticing this?

schatzrose

I just layered Musc Noir with Kayali Vanilla 28 : heaven!
Also it’s pretty close to Musc Noir Rose!
Thank me later ☺️

mothtoaflame___

(Collection)
Heck, this is like the echo of “Poison”, a modern, minimalistic take on. My skin soaks this up like nothing else and boy, it smells good!

Miasha

After having a few of the NR fragrances for a couple of years - I must say that Narciso Rouge, and this one, Musc Noir, are my very favourites. (I also love Narciso edp, the white cube, and edt, the black cube, but as most of you know, they are both sadly discontinued...)
But I must say that I am surprised, that so many seem to think this one is not "noir" at all! I think it is both dark and a bit mysterious, as well at it is creamy and soft. Very, very feminine. Not appropriate to wear at work, I think: for that it is much too strong and too sensual! But for a date night, or just an evening out with friends and family: absolutely perfect.
And it lasts forever!! If anyone thinks that it does not last, I think they must be nose blind, somehow.
Beautiful like few others!!!

ohmydarlingcats

Yes.

Just yes.

This is perfection. I don't know what else to say.

Objets D'argile

Musc Noir for Her is a slightly elevated “clean girl aesthetic” fragrance. It's soapy and sits close to the skin. It doesn't project much or at all. Nor does it last. It's perfect for the people who can't wear fragrances at work, or don't like perfume but want an easy to reach fragrance for some days. I will probably decant it, so I have it in my purse to refresh at work. Once it runs out, I will not repurchase it.

risarii

I much prefer this to its little sister, the viral Musc Noir Rose.

I tried Noir Rose first and was briefly obsessed with it. But it was a bit sweeter than I preferred so I decided to try Musc Noir.

This scent is like a fuzzy angora sweater. It’s fluffy, soft, comforting. Smells like clean skin, a warm blanket, laying next to your lover. There’s something special about it.

Darkrain91

This perfume smells soft and light. Does not last long on skin at all. but such a beautiful scent. Smells amazing but scent is very weak. It smells better on skin than paper. But I definitely prefer the rose version over this.

Malinkabby

I swear this smelt like JPG le male on paper like wtf

Darinah

I love this scent. It's so gentle and beautiful, I can't even describe it. It smells like something old but it's not old-fashioned. Unfortunately on my skin it last for max 2 hours and the silage is not that great.

Natalieex

I adore this! For me this is a modern take on a clean musky scent. The older Narcisos like “for her” in this line smell a little bit dated to me now and a bit too …perfumy?

Musc Noir is the perfect signature scent. It’s beautiful, comforting, fluffy and airy. It doesn’t even smell like a perfume when you’re wearing it. I feel like this could easily be mistaken for fabric softener but in a good way. When I say fabric softener I don’t mean something like lenor, think of something you’d expect a nice white fluffy robe in a luxurious spa to smell like. It’s perfect for the “clean girl” aesthetic that’s trendy at the moment.

This is my white shirt fragrance, what I wear when I don’t know what to wear. A staple, something that works for any occasion. It’s effortlessly cool without having to try too hard. Ughh it’s just gorgeous!

My only critique is that despite good longevity it turns into a skin scent within a couple of hours and you really need to go looking for it to find it. That’s not a deal breaker for me as I just reapply.

One of the best designer releases in a long time ❤️

Perfumerzlove

One of the best Narciso Rodriguez fragrances I’ve tried! All the notes blended together, make this smell incredible on the skin. Definitely best to try it on the skin rather than the paper, it really performs better.

schatzrose

My coworker is such a pure beauty, she is someone who rarely wears make up, dresses well and smells yummy the whole time. Guess what, I found out that she was wearing this perfume every time I’ve complimented her smell! (Copycat alert lol) Yes I bought a small bottle immediately after I’ve found that out and I am just loving it😃It smells literally like freshly washed clothes to me (lasting power is a lot better on the clothes as well), so it can be worn anytime of the year imo.
Also wondering if I am the only one about the soapy/detergent like dry-down?💭

Update : My love to Musc Noir got me very curious about Musc Noir Rose. I can’t wait to try that one!

spitfyre27

My first impression of Musc Noir is of its faintness and ephemerality. Honestly, I cannot smell this without holding up my wrist to my nose. It also reminds me of a Bath and Body Works mist I used to have, Black Amethyst, but that's stronger than this and I might actually prefer it to this? This only lasted an hour or so on my skin, which is a bit disappointing. It's really more of a skin scent. Not saying this is a bad fragrance, it's okay. It's just not a "love" from me. I'm just glad the Narciso store sent me a 10ml of Musc Noir with my order of Poudree so that I could test this first. I nearly bought a full bottle of this. :-I

My niece prefers Musc Noir (she's 11) out of all the Narciso scents we smelled for its subtlety and the faintness. The others are too strong for her (the For Her EDT, my favorite, and the EDP.) So people who like their scents to be very faint and subtle will like this.

TabledThoughts

When I smell this fragrance on me It conjures up a shade of purple making sense as plum and heliotrope rule the perfume nicely.
The suede element is smooth and blends really well in the composition.
While on the grown up side it's a modern, sensual musk. Great date night perfume.
Sadly it has poor performance.

am_xo

Sweet plum and soft musk.

Sniffathon

I absolutely love the Narciso range, and this is my fourth bottle in the range after For Her EDP, Ambree and also Narciso. I bought this based on the hype on social media but unfortunately it is not for me. There is something about the interaction between the plum and heliotrope that doesn’t work well on my skin. It’s a bit of a tangy baby powder, but the suede base does round it out. Pleasant, but not for me, especially compared to the other 3 beauties.

alternateu

much like the very-hyped musc noir rose, has extremely poor performance on my skin. zero sillage (need to press nose against skin), about one hour of longevity.
it avoids the sometimes-too-syrupy vanilla in the musc noir rose, but otherwise, smells very similar.
i similarly get a spicy, smoky, almost peppery smell from this OG (even though the notes don't list pepper?), and almost zero musk. i like pepper, but this was underwhelming.

-

Edit: I changed my mind, something about that opening kept drawing me in again and again. I bought a full bottle, and have had it for months now. I think it needed a little bit of time to macerate as well: now at first spray it’s a lightly sweet, plummy suede (this suede is sooo gorgeous and sexy) and lightly musky. I spray it on my bed, on my pyjamas, and just randomly on myself when I’m at home. Very comforting and oddly, very sexy, I’m still not a fan of musc noir rose, but this one is amazing.

ShinningLightOfThunder

Sweet, soft musk. Gorgeous on the skin!

SophiaViolette

Impressive and unique spicy-leathery-fruity opening. Slowly it’s like the plum is being squeezed… I never smelled a plum like this in a perfume. Something leathery-smoky about it, and very sexy opening.
Very quickly the heliotrope comes in, intoxicating and sweet. Not smelling “old powdery” for once, like in many perfumes.
The dark leather balanced with the musk and heliotrope is bringing dimension and depth.

I can’t stop sniffing for more, so additive. Something beautiful, sophisticated and mysterious about the notes altogether.

💜🖤🤍
A very soft and delicate perfume which gently remains a trail of itself behind you and around you, as you walk in a summer evening and wind is gently blowing and sun is setting. I love how everything in this perfume are balanced. This is like an angel is touching you when you wear this perfume. Full of comfort and tranquility. This, along with Narciso Rodriguez edt (black bottle) are my favorite Narciso's. 🖤🖤💜💜💜

cunt.dracula

I really like this one. Although "For Her" is in the name, I can easily see this on a man. It's very musky with some sweetness coming from the plum, but there's no fruity undertone here honestly. This is a very non-offensive, androgynous scent perfect for the workplace & any place tbh. This is VERY overspray friendly lol I plan on buying a full bottle.

Sanrio

Plum =/= Dior Poison, people. It is distinctly plummy but very different from Poison. I thought this would be like a modern, musky Poison.

It is retro like other people are saying, but honestly it smells a bit industrial. Less like a perfume and more like the smell of a cleaner or solvent used to mask bad smells. I don't mean to offend anyone but it reminds me of the concentrate I used to add to the mop water when I worked retail and closed up the store. It's not a bad smell but a bad association.

Edit: OK I've tried this again, and this time in the summer. It feels much more musky and fresh to me now, the plum is coming off as less industrial, and particularly during the dry down the fruity note becomes more creamy and somewhat pear like. I'm really enjoying this now, but I still don't think it smells like Poison.

cokoladnomleko

Musc Noir is such a unique scent that would make a great mature perfume for every occasion. The first time I discovered it, I couldn't get enough of it. It's simply gorgeous but it doesn't last at all. It disappears after half an hour and that's why I can't bring myself to enjoy it.

Riacloe

The opening of Musc Noir is so promising if you like plum. Very feminine, different from the other NR, kind of nostalgic. You can smell plum, powder and a subtle, soft musc. Unlike the musc in Pure Musc, which is harsher and more contemporary.
Unfortunately this lasts less than half an hour. After that it becomes a skin scent and there is only left a faint powdery musc which you can hardly smell. It's very disappointing when perfumes at this price range are so weak. It would have been a wonderful perfume if it lasted longer.

Musc noir is everything I asked for, strong but still fresh, the plum note is amazing elegant feminine, it's probably my favorite NR perfume so far

lauren1nader

Narciso Rodrguez Musc Noir is a pure skin scent that lasts at least 6 hours after a fresh bath. I have never smelled anything like this before! And I'm glad I bought this fragrance.

seliko

classy sultry fragrance by narciso. while all narciso fragrances are rather everyday appropriate and elegant, musc noir additionally carries detectable, strong character.

the fragrance is very similar to musc noir rose, with a scent bubble that is more peppery to my nose and less sweet. musc noir rose is more tuberose forward and slightly more powdery with the addition of the rose, so we could say that musc noir smells “clearer”. musc noir sits subtler too on the skin.

to me, if musc noir rose is the date night of someone who is able to recognize their place within their environment, musc noir is confident self presentation in a more day-to-day occasion.

tilapia_johnson

Soft, subtly-sweet plum and dusty suede tame the usual Narciso musk, making this scent much more crowd-pleasing and contemporary than say Pure Musc. Some might find it a little plain, but to me it allows you to enjoy the musk without having to decide if it is overbearing in the composition. It’s warm and intimate, but not dark.

lola911

I love the smell of this perfume, I do wish it lasted longer though. It turns to a skin scent very quickly and I have to overspray. This is a great everyday scent or one you could wear to work and it's not going to be offensive to anyone.

ingrid.superstar

In lieu of a full review (for now), I couldn't wait to say that this is the most realistic "dollhead" scent I have ever found! Plasticky, musky, creamy, slightly sweet, girly. If you're after the nostalgic scent of your 80s/90s-era toys -- and I didn't know I was until I got into perfumes about five years ago -- give this a try! Musc Noir is Barbie dolls, scented erasers, cheapie vanilla lip gloss, and matte vinyl bits & bobs all the way!

I admit it reminds me a tiny bit of Alien at first (despite any disclosed presence of jasmine), which I eventually find totally repulsive because of its specific woodsy drydown. But for me, at the top, Alien is another "Barbie doll" scent.

CrazyCrab

Overall impression: it smells like a cashmere jumper that you've just lovingly hand washed with your woolite and your wringing out the warm water and the fabric is still warm and lovely.

To me it's much sweeter than the other NR frags and the musc element is much more gentle; it reminds me of clean hair. After using it a while I can definitely smell heliotrope but it's not used in the familiar powdery old fashioned way, it's somehow more humid and warm. It does smell kind of spicy at the beginning. Oddly I also get coconut/tropical vibes at the start too?!

It lasts forever because I can smell it days later on clothes, but I go nose blind to it after about 2 hours when I have it on my skin. Sillage must be good because I get compliments on it after I can no longer smell it on myself.

Erica.Cass

Smells lovely, a fruity musk, but disappears very quickly to a faint skin scent. I cannot smell this on me after 20 minutes

salaryman

What a gorgeous fragrance. I don’t know how it managed to be both so simple yet so surprising. I can’t stop sniffing myself. I’m seriously in love with it.

Youlerie

I am in love with this airy and fluffy flaky plum. Beautifully soft and absolutely mood-enhancing! Fortunately, suede is not overpowering.

charmae_ateteen

I thought it's a sexy night perfume but not really. I get a CLEAN scent, almost like a safe easy reach perfume. I spray max 4 sprays, sometimes I layer it with Fleur Musk to add more red florals. I wouldn't say that it's a safe blind buy but it's safe for those who are okay with heavy heliotrope. If you want a clean scent but not the linen type, if you like plum and powdery, try this and wait for the dry down. I honestly got this by mistake when I was supposed to check out Musc Noir Rose.

Gyps

Noir? I don’t think so. Nice scent but very faint. I spray and spray but it becomes nothing more than a skin scent within 10 minutes on me. Disappointing, as the actual smell is lovely but just too weak. I bought NR Musc Noir Rose to layer over it, and it’s not much better with both of them on. Lots of money spent for little satisfaction. It will end up a daily office scent so I can work my way through the bottle.

Edit: I have come back again after 12 months exactly, and it’s still the same. All the NR perfumes I have smell exactly the same apart from NR Narciso edp. Can’t believe the prices they put on these perfumes, esp when they don’t last. I won’t be buying this one again, or the MNR.

luciatko

NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY!!!
I made this mistake. The smell itself is not bad, but it is truly very strong from the very beginning. The note of really heavy plum is making me sick.

But on the other hand, the drydown is a key here, the scent becomes very soft on my skin, musky, kinda like right after fresh shower feeling. But I can not get over this awful heavy plum start.

The lasting power is not the best either, for me it is about 2-3 hours.

MademoiselleMaya

It is very pretty.
If it would be a fabric softener it would be a hit as well.

Musk - it is universally spacious, pleasant, comforting.
Suede adds comfort and tames lab-effect.
Heliotrope adds sweetness and plum juiciness.

In a way, it places a picture of a black rose in my mind.

It is made of artificial chemicals, doesn't it?
Lab scent done well.
It creates a bit of a headache in me, it would be better on clothing, I imagine.

It smells distinctive and austere. Cold rather. Mysterious. Clean.

linoleum

Arrive at last. I like NR MN than NR Her. This one smell like feminine leather (leather + flower) in my skin. Interesting.

BillieNG

A pleasant and rather subtle smell of wet, shampooed classy yarn. How come? It took me several years to get used to Narciso's bold distinctiveness and sultriness and falling in love with it. I've taught myself to appreciate and proudly wear his masterpieces! This barely-there minuscule won't offend even a newborn butterfly and it is neither musk nor noir. Who is it aimed at? Entomologists?

BougieGirlShops

To me this is sexiness in a bottle. Like, let's round into at least third base. I am old school where I do not find gourmands or overly sweet fragrances like Viva La Juicy, Black Opium, Prada Candy, et al. sexy like so many others do. I love them, but they aren't what I would categorize as sexy.

While Musc Noir does have a sweet plum note, it is balanced with the suede that adds a smokey darkness to it. The NR musc is present as always and I always found this musk to be very alluring. Dry down does provide hints of soapiness, for me I find the musk and suede to be front and centre so that it is not too sweet or powdery. Hours into the dry down, most of the notes fade and you are left with the classic NR musk.

I know most people tend to favour the newer Musc Noir Rose, I'm not a particular fan of plummy roses but I can recognize how a rose may come off darker than the plum and would make it more apropos to the name. I think a dark dry rose would have really been cool. Give it some witchy vibes.

aiwilo

This scent reminds me of church, incense. Not a pleasant smell unfortunately.

katie02kat

I can say a lot of positive things about this perfume, but I will say it briefly :) It is a beautiful perfume, beautiful, beautiful and lovely <3

Safscents

It smells really bad! Like walking down the street and getting a scenttrail from somewhere But it makes you want to block your nose. Hopefully i had a sample from a bad Bottle otherwise WHO would buy this knowingly 🫢

Edit: Now that it has been an hour from first spray. It has dried down to a soapy musc. This is unfortunately not the one for me.

Tran Tran

I usually am in love with Narciso scents but I give this one a like only. There's no "noir" element in this. It's a lovely feminine powdery musky and clean scent. It smells clean and elegant, not sexy at all. It stays on me 3-5 hours with not so good silage then becomes skin scent within the next 2-3 hours.

TheNyx2003

This is sooooo good , it's literally intoxicating ! No including headache to me at all , jammy plum and musk combination is so sexy , it's not dark to me proper for both day and night and all seasons it could be easily signature scent ( i'll take a shot on it )
I felt cinnamon at beginnig too or something spicy but it fade about 3_4 min , IMO this is proper for a young lady who wear bright pink lipstick and has rosy chicks
and velvety white skin , someone who plays piano or sing opera or is a ballet dancer and has full of self confiedence and proud of her self
But i wish the sillage would be better

AshBud

Gosh, this is such a familiar scent that I cannot put my finger on. With that said, I wouldnt say its anything terribly unique. Very pretty from afar but up close its too skin like for me. Definite heliotrope as well. I think I'd prefer it with just a little more plum to bring out that juiciness thats hiding just below the surface.

Jeff Shin

Smells very synthetic at first, like a plastic fruit with way too much musk. Not a pleasant opening, but the drydown is really EVERYTHING here. Quickly turns into something very cozy and little sweet and comforting. Not a sophisticated or elegant scent, but it will do everything to make you feel cozy in the autumn morning. The powdery musk and slightly sweet plum may make it seem feminine but on my skin, I get a lot of suede so I think it's masculine enough for a young man in his 20s. Much prefer this version over the "Rose" flanker.

Twentzel

Musky plum, slightly powdery and slightly sweet, but not overwhelming.
It's a skin scent with moderate lasting power on my skin (6-7h), office safe.
Being a skin scent is the purpose of this fragrance in my opinion and it's not bad.
I wonder if that projected more it could cause some kind of discomfort.
I like it, although it is overpriced 💜

scentine

It's pleasant and easy to like. But let's face it, it's also very basic. It's extremely soft and discreet and I think that's a part of the appeal, as one of the "your skin but better" type of fragrances. But the performance and sillage are both pretty poor. Nothing about this is "noir" in any way. It's a very clean and tame musk that is just a little less powdery as the original Her EdT and Her EdP. The plum gives it a fruity sweetness.
In reality, if you have any soft, slightly sweet and powdery musk fragrances, Musc Noir is kind of redundant. It doesn't do anything better than any of those other fragrances. It's a comfort fragrance, and I guess it could be used for layering, but by itself it's just forgettable and anonymous.

violetelle

One of my favourite scents of all time. This is one of those that makes my eyes roll to the back of my head. It is just so so good, so me. I hope this is never discontinued. My only issue is that the projection is a bit lacking. I know some people love that it’s a skin scent but I would like to feel the presence of this more. Nonetheless, the scent itself is divine, the combination of the musk, suede and plum just gets me. I also like that it stays consistent and doesn’t lose its magic. I hands down prefer this to musc noir rose.

Demure but high quality, it smells expensive. If this were an outfit it would be leather trousers, a silk cami and a cashmere jumper. Cosy but refined. Love. I also have a crush on Sonia Constant and I imagine this would suit her.

Nocciola23

This is divine. Such a gem in modern perfumery to find a delicate floral musk.
A sales assistant raved on and on about this perfume (the tester was finished) so I bought myself a sample online.
Worth it. Definitely full bottle worthy it is so beautiful.
The plum and musk work so well together and it's such a delicate scent.

VioletDr

Yeah no I don’t really like this. Something about this brings me back to perfumes that my aunt used to wear in the late 90s and early 2000s. It smells vintage to me.

singlehandedbeauty

The notes in Musc Noir are definitely up my alley but went awry with my chemistry. I love the sweet and spicy feel I got with the plum, but it was overpowered by a stale and sour suede and leather combo. I much prefer Musc Noir Rose. I recommend testing on skin.

sweet_teenagedream

This version is a fruity plum, musky, suede and musk fragrance. Where the Musc Noir Rose is sweet and jammy, this one is more of a fruit juice plum and more airy, making it not as heavy. Thankfully, I don’t get the Heliatrope in this one. It’s definitely quite a pleasant scent. Similar to the Musc Noir Rose, but you could for sure own both. Not a must buy for me.

PlanetGrl

This was nice, like a fresh laundry still warm from the dryer. The heliotrope is like cotton-like, but powdery. As nice as it is, I found it rather dull and uninteresting. Traded in for the Musc For Her EDT in the black bottle.

Dramaloladiva

This is fluffy but so very subdued and a little blah…or boring if you prefer…its “sister” or flanker Musc Noir Rose has some depth to it that this one lacks. For this reason, I prefer the Musc Noir Rose much better. It is still powdery and fluffy but it has a certain sparkle to it and a warmth that is much needed in order to be appreciated and loved. The only positive thing about it is the gorgeous bottle, honestly, it is so sleek and elegant!! But I’ll pass on this one as the longevity, sillage and overall composition do nothing for me. Thank goodness for samples!!!

scissorhandedly

I am not a musky-floral kind of gal, but this is okay... at least in the beginning. A few minutes in, the plum gets a bit annoying.

dahnehyuh

I LOVE Narciso Rodriguez perfumes but this only smells like pee to me and I don't know why?

Adriennne

This smells unique. Nothing smells like it. NR MNR is even sexier and longer lasting. and happily has similar base to this.

Maggietilda

This is the perfume that made me interested in perfumes. The day I sprayed the sample of this perfume I couldn't stop smelling it on my wrist. I thought it was so different and good smelling from all other perfumes I've ever smelled. I wanted to know everything about it and discover even more scents. But... Now when I re-visit this fragrence, it still smells very unique, - but this time I get cat piss and really old lady vibes. Like what's happening to me?

chlorodream

Not for me. A slightly screechy, fruity musk. Clean and dark at the same time, but not cosy at all.

Gyps

It would be a lovely scent if it lasted. Cost me heaps and lasts all of 5 minutes. Have to keep spraying to smell it. No more blind buys for me.

knipsi22

It's floral but also has a dusty and kinda waxy note. I mistakened the plum note for honey or bee wax at first. It doesn't smell fruity at all. I guess it's just not for everyone and I really dislike it.

chimidoro

For the longest time I was sure that the only Narciso scents for me were the cubes, namely the original creamy white cube and the Ambree versions. Then I was really curious about the new (at the time) Pure Musc in that dreamy tall white bottle. But it sadly leaned too clean and the blend felt too much like hay. Yeah, hay.
It didn't really work on me.

But this one....

I've written a review for this one before, though I can't recall precisely what I said about it except that I love it.

I looooove this.

A glorious mingling of fresh and breezy plummy notes, woods, suede, musk. Though it doesn't come across as overly fruity. It seems more floral, but I personally don't sense any particular flower.

Scents I've smelled prior to this with any similarities to it genuinely pale by comparison or simply seem overcomplicated.

This stuff... AAAAHHHHH...

Gentle, understated, demure, yet tenacious, subtly present all day through. Projection is pretty good in the beginning. The character of the scent is soft and easy going, though not casual. Very grown up and feminine.

Numerous times I have been tempted to blind buy the Rose version, but why bother? I'm happy with this. More than. Still, tempted...
But I think this is the perfect blend.

Editing to add that the one thing I do find incredibly madcap and oddball about this scent is the lack of a base. It eventually dries down to a white musk, alone.

VargaZsuzsanna

I have a small sample, so my review is based on a few days of wearing this beauty. The scent is lovely, sophisticated and feminine. Very well put together, I can't distinguish the different elements. On my skin it is a sweetish musk with something fresh, not too much or too little of anything, just perfect as it is. The problem is the longevity or the lack of it realy, it only lasts maybe 1-2 hours on me and the sillage which is nonexsistent, it is a skin scent from the start. Also not a safe blind buy, my friend tested it in a parfume shop and it was really bad on her - skin chemistry is a determining factor with musk scents in my opinion.
So it is a love and hate thing here. I love the scent and would happily wear it, but I hate its performance.

Edit: I have just ordered a small 30 ml bottle. I don't care about the abismal performance, I have to have it. I will overspray or reaply it as necessary but I must be able to smell it on myself. t is such a compelling, unique fragrance.

sunshine0101

I liked it on the first spray at the Duty Free and it was a purchase for my sister. She loved it in the first sniff as well (we have similar taste in frag)

We were travelling in a very hot and humid climate, out-and-about, and I smelt something awesome around me, when I asked what’s this amazing smell, she said it’s the perfume I gave. So, in extreme humid heat, while my Linterdit was struggling hard (which otherwise in cold climate lasts a good while on me), and I was respraying it every 2 hours, this baby was rocking away.

So, yeah, def a performer in heat. I am going to buy one for myself.

kerriejo

Off the atomizer, this is beautiful - but as with all musk fragrances and especially with NR, they really should be tested on skin. On me, this opens with a gorgeous musky, soft somewhat spicy and fruity cloud. LOVE it.

The drydown on my skin is a whole different animal. It becomes pretty masculine with my chemistry and I catch something that reminds me of an old man's aftershave. It's nauseating, tiresome, boring, headache inducing and makes my throat feel thick. I get stuck at work with this coming off of me and I vow to never wear it again only to try again a week later. I keep trying to make friends with this fragrance but it's time for us to part ways.

I MUCH prefer NR Musc Noir Rose. The drydown is sweeter and softer. Entirely more feminine for me in the drydown. Longevity is better and sillage is gorgeous with this flanker.

The NR Musc Noir is just not for me - I normally LOVE NR fragrances so this was a confident blind buy that ended up being a fail.

Erinhasaproblem

I adore this and want to smell like this all the time. I have a hard time describing this or differentiating the notes - I get a clean, powdery musk. Slightly fresh but with some depth. I wish the performance was better. Definitely my favourite from the house.

GinCatsBooks

I had a voucher to use just after Christmas for The Perfume shop and quite honestly, there wasn't really much which caught my attention until the SA asked me what my most worn/collected scent was and I already knew the answer; Narciso Rodriguez For Her. Anyone that knows me IRL knows I am slightly obsessed with the For Her line, theres always one from the lineup that works for any occasion and season, all of them have an effortlessly sexy and confident aura that at the same time feels comforting and safe, the SA passed me a test strip sprayed liberally with Musc Noir and I bought 50ml there and then.

Musc Noir opens with a fruity blast, which reminds me a little bit of stewed plums; its not fleshy and bright, more thick and jam-like in texture. The plums are instantly dusted lightly with a warm and soft heliotrope which gives a gentle almondy vanilla facet that gives some sweetness but isn't necessarily juvinile or "cheap" smelling and accentuates the stunning signature NR musk. After a couple of hours, a suede note combines with the warm skin-like musk and makes for an unusual scent trail, in a good way!

The longevity on me is excellent with 8hrs of wear, I get a gentle aura-like silage and it does get noticed. I'm sort of on the fence with the name, its more of a "dusk" to me than a "noir" but I can kind of see the direction in which they were trying to take this, I also see similarities to the monster that is Dior poison, except I find Musc Noir much more easy and more pleasant to wear. This would work nicely when lightly applied in an office environment but equally so on a night out or even just as a daily scent to wear during the cooler autumn/winter months, it makes me think of wearing a black or navy silk shirt and being sat near a fireplace reading with a drink in my hand.
As with all the Narciso Rodriguez line up, I love it and its definately a future repurchase!

LeggysMum

At first sniff I was inclined to agree with those who don't think this is "noir", or doesn't have the NR dna, but I liked it anyway (fortunately,as it was a full size blind buy, 🤦♀️slow learner, or maybe I just like to live dangerously) but throughout the day while I was wearing it, through the mask 😷 I could catch musk goodness. I felt it was light enough not to offend anyone, but as the day wore on, the plum became more prominent. I couldn't identify what I was catching, but it was vaguely familiar, and quite different to my other NR ... Now on the second wearing it reminds me of a lighter Dior Poison, without the sinus killing, even a little bit of Calvin Klein Euphoria . I now absolutely feel that this could be too much for some people and some occasions. Me? I love it and I will wear it judiciously in the cool weather and maybe even a few balmy evenings.
Not a safe blind buy though...

Penhaligoons

First NR for me, definitely a knock-out and I was very impressed at first sniff. If a perfume could smell like the cold weather, this would be one of the many interpretations.
Don't know if it's the heliotrope that makes this so airy and almost unrecognizable, but it's so beautiful! Only wish it lasted longer and had better sillage, I could barely smell it on myself after an hour or two.

LOST_HORIZON

Musc Noir is infinitely elegant and feminine.
It starts with a fresh and juicy plum, and I can already sense a musk that, depending on the day, is more or less animalic. And when the chamois arrives in its splendor I go up to heaven and it is impossible for me to come down from so much personal enjoyment that it gives me...
I adore this perfume, it has a beautiful personality and it dresses me so well, its heliotrope leaves all this sweet-skin atmosphere powdery but never overwhelms.
Its trail is really quite moderate, you can only sense your fragrance when they approach you (how sexy) and the durability is fantastic.

KateWest

Great scent to wear if you only want someone hugging you to be able to smell you. It doesn't project AT ALL. Such a shame because it's a really beautiful and unique scent. Hopefully with a brisk wind on a patio, you'll manage to share this with a few others. You won't go nose blind to this tho so if you're mostly wearing fragrance for your own enjoyment, you'll be able to smell this on yourself for a good long while.

Leah0026

I enjoyed the opening of this but the dry down on my skin soon turns into a strong soapy/animalic smell, which I didn’t like. I much preferred the dry down of the musc rose noir which is sweeter without being sickly.

it's_me_leah

This is a sweet, Ambroxan heavy scent. I really wanted to try this for the suede note but the Ambroxan drowns everything.

ckorp8

Very nice but way too light for the price. Soft almost sweet creamy musc.

Tarine

I compared it with musc noir rose. This one is clean and light. Such a pleasant smell !! The scent of suade is the strongest on my skin. I like a combination of the suade and musk. Its musk is Narciso Rodriguez staple in my opinion. The scent of middle note is quite similar to musc noir rose whose scent is extremely sweet on me.

yana.levus

I can describe my journey with Musc Noir in five words: from meh to not bad 😆

It is actually sensual and alluring scent with this intriguing plum-suede combination. But! For me Musc Noir can’t make it past like category into a love one. I wish there was more depth, more complexity. You see, if the brand didn’t put Noir into the name, I wouldn’t feel as conflicted. Personally I believe Noirs have to be dark, a bit intense while with Musc Noir it’s a completely different story. Clean, soapy and light - that’s what you get. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing though. However, imagine you ordered red lipstick and received a red t-shirt. Wouldn’t it confuse you?

Musc Noir has a minimal projection and a pretty poor longevity. Surprising for Narciso Rodriguez!

On a positive note, Musc Noir opened the world of layering to me. I played it safe first by combining For Her EDT and Musc Noir (heavenly!), and eventually got enough confidence to play around with other perfumes in my collection.

Eval81

This is fresh, modern, minimal, sexy musky perfume. Initial blast i get the plum so intense, then it fades and musk comes out stronger. At complete dry down, suede adds that sexy vibe that makes me sniff my wrists contantly. Lasts longer on clothes and doesn't have a great sillage/trail, but this is why i love it. It's like my secret sexy scent, one must come very close to smell. You can wear it everywhere.

pearsonns

It's fine but it's so similar to another scent I have and can't remember which one. Lasts very long though, and has good sillage on me. I got the sample but probably won't buy a whole bottle.

Katelynl88

Ok I’m actually pretty intrigued with this one . At first sniff I didn’t think I liked it , then it dries down and it’s just lovely ! It’s a very light scent though, I keep spraying and I feel like I can barely smell it . It almost reminds me of soda in a way , maybe cola or Dr Pepper ? It also reminds me of incense? I definitely smell tuberrose. This perfume reminds me ever so slightly of the Juse box feather ? Perfume but a darker version . This would be great on a summer night or day . My tastes are changing so much , I never thought I would like something like this , I really like it but I wish it was stronger . Ya this perfume has me sniffing my wrist nonstop wanting more. . I didn’t care for the original narciso Rodriguez for her , was just too musty? Not sure but it wasn’t for me . This one I’m definitely buying.

Edit - this review is for music noir rose , I wasn’t sure if I reviewed the wrong one . I just purchased the 3.4 oz bottle of it . I have figured out a way to replicate it while I wait , if you mix Valentino born in Roma or jpg la belle with narciso Rodriguez pure music , you get almost the same scent . I am so excited for my perfume to show !

auroramaria

Sensual, refined, feminine this fragrance I see best on a well put together woman who does not need to make her scent scream, to be noticed. MN is elegant yet so modern great combination between suede and flowers. Something to be remembered by,like leaving traces of your perfume in the bedsheets

maritzza

What a nice surprise it was to notice that this works well with me. I thought that this would be too simple or boring for me but I think the simplicity works. This reminds me of an elegant and confident woman who doesn't have to be flashy in order to gain respect.

MissKat

This smells like the skin of a lover that you are madly in love with. It’s femenine and sensual yet always appropriate, even at the office. If you have (or want to have) an alluring sophisticated vibe this is the way to go. Its not girly at all, and you do need a mature confidence to pull it of. Otherwise you might look like a confused teenager that put on her (hot ;)) aunts perfume without smelling it first. Stay away if you don’t love musk! The original NR for her smelled amazing on paper but turned masculine on my skin. This one does not!

mrshnchnkm

It smells like an old suede jacket sprayed with old floral perfume. Definitely "no" for me, but I'm not a fan of retro floral fragrances.

TheSweaterGirl

I was so glad to receive a sample of this as a gift with another purchase. However, testing it proved to be hugely disappointing.

I find a sharp, synthetic note in the opening that never fully goes away. The fragrance itself did offer the slightest hint of a delicate musk. But despite using the entire tester bottle in one use, I literally couldn’t detect any hint of scent beyond 1.5hrs of application. No matter how aggressively I sniffed and searched for it. Plus it was a super light barely there whiff of a fragrance to begin with.

Super, super disappointed. Awfully glad I got a sample to test. I had been interested in this and Musc Noir Rose. Not a safe blind buy.

iro222

I love NR perfumes but this is a NO for me. It gives me granny, old lady vibes, the musc hier i too heavy and prominent. Definately no summer scent for me. Is the only NR perfume i do not like.

Perpetual Collector

Musc Noir is really good. I was debating between this and Musc Noir Rose, but ultimately went with MN. It reminds me slightly of Moon Dance which I had to return because it almost choked me to death after I had an allergic reaction to it (or was it something else), but I loved Moon Dance at first spray. Until I pick up some courage to buy Moon Dance again, Musc Noir will fill that plum void I had - it's that good.
Very grown-up and sexy, but I do wish that opening lasted longer because I consider the opening phase better than the dry down. Musc Noir is not your typical Narciso fume, so maybe sample first?
For me, it's another successful blind buy, and MNR is next!

MoonGirl22

I got a paper sample in a magazine and couldn’t stop smelling this so bought myself a full-size. At first this smells sharp to me. When it settles it’s all musk and white florals in my opinion. It’s non-offensive and office appropriate.

birdimpersonator

Got this as a sample and it kind of sat around until I finally tried it. I didn't think I would like it, Im really not into musks but this is a sleeper scent. It is sooo interesting, like delicate and quiet but familiar and calm and sweet. I dont get musk, I dont get suede. Long story short, I bought a bottle and this is all I want to smell like now.

violetstorm

i have to say i almost tossed this lol........i was hoping it was going to be something else by the name & ingredients BUT something made me keep trying it & YEAH its a beautiful light fresh skin scent worth keeping :) glad i gave it another try cuz i can be a bit impulsive when trying new scents lol.................plus i have (mostly) all the other narciso scents so glad to add this one too :) just a heads up this is not a scent that fits its name.........i have no idea why they call it musc noir lol - it totally does not fit the noir lol and if ur choosing between this or musc noir rose IMO i think this one is much prettier & more wearable - musc noir rose i returned - it was a funky combo on me & wasnt appealing

musc noir is very light airy & fresh............very feminine & elegant - easy to wear IMO anywhere
its a beautiful scent for layering too - im not into layering but this scent is perfect for layering cuz its light , the musc is so universal so its easy to mix & the scent doesnt have a whole lot of ingredients so easy to mix - especially layers very well with other scents that have berries in it :) it blended really nice with vince camutos illuminare intensa & vince camutos illuminare

the musk is very sweet & light........the suede gives it a creamy essence.........and the plum is not strong at all - in fact its blended beautifully with heliotrope (a fav flower)

so overall a winner !!!! and its rather addicting lol - i keep smelling my arm lol

Heynicolex

I like how it smells clean and subtle on me, I get compliments from here and there that I smell like fresh out of the shower or a smell of a baby. I like wearing this in the office during summer because of it's smells like a delicate flower that rubbed on a clean skin. I like how it gives me this confident woman/androgynous vibe

Calinare

A rep came to me and asked me to sample this one. I loved it but for some reason it reminds me of something else. You know the dupes they made when Poison came out? They kinda smell like this one. Woody, fruity, sweet. Musk is there, tuberose is also in there. Some kind of other white floral too. Maybe lily? But holy smokes. I took a bath, ran around and it's still there. Strong, yet mild, this is something everyone can like. A crowd pleaser. You know how back in the day people were bold, argumentative and confrontational? That's Poison. And today's 2020's is about sugarcoating, diplomacy and being nice? Yeah, that's Musc Noir. I love both.

FuzzyRush

Stunningly beautiful but lasts mere moments on me. So disappointing.

menmen

So gorgeous! Light and close to the skin, would be a great office choice. Easy reach kind of scent. Absolute must try!
Barely projects but I think it could be useful for someone that needs something subtle for work.

CoffeeCup

This smells like fur to me. Fur rug, fur collar, fur coat. And clean skin. And some black lacy "thingies" on it, underneath the luxurious silky fur coat - you know, the ones that will fly out of sight pretty darn soon. That kind if night. Hot.

This is the opening phase, lasts for half an hour or so.

An then, all of a sudden, before you know it, it's Sunday morning - soft white sheets and sunshine. Pancakes.

freeze_siesta

It's a skin scent fragrance, not offensive, doesn't give me headache like the pink bottle Narciso Rodriguez for Her.

Cataddicted

I can smell a lot of musk at first spray with this scent. It’s initially pretty much all you can smell, although the musk part of the scent fades reasonably quickly, and you can smell the plum in the scent. I think it’s more of a daytime scent than a nighttime one, I don’t think it’s the best musk scent I’ve come across, but a nice scent nonetheless, and the plum aspect is lovely, and I think it smells better on your skin than in the air or on paper.

But, like it has been mentioned several times, after a few minutes it does become very much like a light skin scent. You are hardly able to smell it within a few inches of your skin, which is disappointing. I don’t want to have a perfume that people have to search for the smell… I just want them to smell it on me!

raerrr

I was given a travel bottle. I’ve only tested this out a few times. The first time I wasn’t sure I was gonna like it. Plum and heliotrope are hard notes for me to find that sit well with my skin chemistry and don’t send me into a migraine attack. I like that the profile is simple. Definitely musky on me, I think the suede balances this scent out. It’s a nice, but not sure I’d purchase a bottle, especially for the price.

IndigoEye

Narciso Rodriguez is one of my favourite houses - I've had the black and pink original For Hers, as well as the Absolu, Pure Musc, and the white Narciso cube and the poudrée version - all lovely, great for layering and I salute the house for doing something a bit different and distinctive whilst staying modern and sexy.
However, I have not really been a fan of a couple of the new Narciso cubes (esp. Ambrée) and I don't like this for a similar reason and that reason is a cheap floral note that throws the whole perfume off, a sour note that smells like cheap perfume gone stale. The rest of this is good - I like the plum, the softness, the musk, of course, but I just cannot cope with the florals in this. I don't know if it is a change in perfumer, budget or what, but this is spoiled for me... I've given it a couple of good tries but I get the same thing each time.
I am really hoping that the new Musc Noir Rose uses a different floral note that I can get on board with. Until now I would have blind bought anything by Narciso.

Another NR For Her collection I've tried. At this point I’m thiiis close to surrender. Seems like nothing suits my preference. Not even the For Her EDT that smells like my all time favorite Lazy Sunday Morning (on steroids, of course).

Despite having the word “noir” in its name, Musc Noir doesn’t resemble anything... noir. It’s a fruity musky fragrance with subtle suede in the background. The freshness in the opening reminds me of shampoo and the hint of green facets in it makes it feel relaxing. The musk and suede dominate the dry down — which in theory will be too intimidating for me, but credits to its weak projection, they hardly bug my nose. LOL.

This unisex fragrance will be best worn during colder days, but still appropriate for everyday office scent. Airy and intimate, it smells like the elevated version of natural skin scent. Better to sample first before committing to buy the full size.

Now, after having had this absolutely stunning fragrance for a few months, I will just say that I am totally amazed. No end for the superlatives from me...
I do love all that I have tried from Narciso Rodriguez that I have tried: except Narciso Ambree, which has no longevity on me, I'm afraid - maybe I'm anosmic to it or something. But this is something extra: it ACTUALLY comes in as one of my Top Two Fragrances Ever. And that, my friends, does not say little. I have close to a hundred fragrances, and love some more, and have tried some more... the other one on my Top is Lou Lou, Cacharel, which I have owned since it came out. So it took that long, for something to match it...
They both have that same dark, mysterious and warm feeling, even though they are not alike at all. Neither of them seem like a modern fragrance to me; they give me a feeling of old times. They are both sultry and sensual, without ever being offending anyone. Just as good for a date with your loved one, as for christmas celebration with your family or festivities with your friends. Or just to endulge in when you are all by yourself, watching a really good movie: preferably portraying a time period sometime around maybe 1930 - 1950, or so.
Or : whenever you feel like it.

( Now: I am only curious about how the new variant, with rose, will be... I am hopeful! Could that be the Rose of my dreams??)

allajan

I like it so much, it is a modern version of Poison!
I feel plum and heliotrope a bit powdery. It is a safe perfume for the office and everyday life. Lasting power is 5-6 hours on me!

Mariamaija Amélie

Almost decluttered this one as well, but ended up keeping it. Musc Noir, became a reminder, that perfumes, also, deserve second chances - or more. The performance of this one disappointed me quite a bit, so I just didn't reach for it. After a good while, and after considering decluttering it, a second chance made all the difference. It is winter now, so it is freaking cold, but this scent just really became so very gorgeous on me in this temperature. I still had to reapply, and I made sure to use a moisturizer on my skin before applying, but the mix of plum, vanilla, musc and suede made me feel so good, and it has now become a big LIKE in my way too huge collection.

denisi77

Smells fresh but scent disappears after thirty minutes of applying

PerfumeForLainy

Frankly, I do agree with ntabassum92 on this one. Sillage might be more bearable, but up close it is my sentiment exactly, used bathroom, cleaning products and airfreshener. Not noir, but simply dirty. Most NR compositions feel too dirty for me to wear and I do not mean "sexy", I mean body in sore need of a shower scent. The exception being only Ambree.

I certanly regret my 50ml bottle for the insane price of over 70 euro and it is going to be my last overhyped NR.

This concoction reminded me of the scent that went in the same direction but took a clean path. Completely different notes on Fragrantica, but the impression is the same, apart from the bathroom aspect. I mean Le Couvent des minimes, Solano - nice, sensual, womanly scent that is much more noir than Musc Noir.

thursdaygirl

I was honestly a bit surprised when I looked this up on Fragrantica to find that such an overwhelming majority find this to be a clear-cut feminine scent. I mean, yeah, it is "for her", but when I tested it the first thought that came to my mind was "wow, this is androgynous!" but in an unmistakenly good way. In a sexy way, like gender doesn't even exist, it's just human. I really like the Pure Musc for its simple clean musky goodness, but there's something about the Noir... I need to test it again before I commit and buy it, though. But it entices me.

ntabassum92

Sigh, this is such a let down. I was really excited to try Musc Noir. I have really liked everything I have tried from Narciso Rodriguez, I didn't expect this to not work for me. I smell the fruity plum, which I like, but underlying it I get terrible bathroom air freshener in an actual bathroom, like an airport bathroom. Perhaps with a touch of cleaned up and masked vomit. Or I'm not sure if just the whole bathroom association makes me feel queasy. Ugh, it really smells like toilets to me. It's so sad. I thought it was just the opening, but I wore it today, and the bathroom haze surrounded me for at least the first two hours...and then it becomes a skin scent - so this is a definite no from me.

In the drydown, I do get the Poison comparison if I try to tune out the toilet smell - a super muted, gentle Poison because of the plum.

Try before you buy - my husband also thinks it smells like Febreze, but without the actual smell of the bathroom, so it doesn't upset him - but I don't imagine most people that love Narciso Rodriguez want to smell like Febreze, either - so just try it out on your skin.

childrenoffire

I thought I don't like fruity notes but I like this one. First spray is fruity but it settles down to an elegant, seductive, skin-scent musk. No patchouli, and no weird warm note like what I noticed on the original For Her EDP. It stays for a long time but has only intimate sillage - I can still smell it on my skin after 8 hours.

Mushka98

Oh, you gorgeous little thing! I fell in love with this perfume immediately. I must say, I'm impressed by how amazing all of Narciso's fragrances are. Musc Noir is a wonderful musky, powdery plum that really does have that tamed-down Poison vibe. Retro and modern at the same time. Makes me think of a quiet and sophisticated woman who has a bad-girl side too. It doesn't last super long, but the scent itself is totally worth it.

Iloveloveperfume

I love it, but it lasts so little. It’s my favourite fragance from NR. Great for every day.

Jabouba

I like it but I don’t love it, little soapy for me but it’s not too bad.
Great for spring/summer and appropriate for daytime use

marinaalex0510

Have it, LOVE it

cgmaurlina

The opening smells exactly like smarties candies to me. It is a really lovely scent.

Adriennne

I LOVE this perfume!
Instantly obsessed!
It is so beautiful!

This is the first scent that makes me stop and ask what the name of it is.
It was a love at first sniff. Then I wanted it on my skin and it smelled even better.
Not too sweet, the suede is very airy and fresh, not too overwhelming musc.
I just adore it.

Very well blended. Happily there is no citrus or patchouli /yay!/.
It smells like a woman's skin. Very sensual and classy.
It is long lasting.

It lasts a whole day on my skin for sure and it lasted 5 days so far on paper.
I wouldn't say it is as strong as Alien EDP 2005 but it is not a skin scent for sure!
It has good sillage and lasting power for people who don't want to intrude themself to others.
Good for the office, good for a date, good for every occasion.

It is very potent for sure and I know there are already fakes of this one so beware!

Omniflowah999

More so a daytime fragrance, but I can see somebody wearing this in the early evening as well. It’s oh so lovely. Very fruity plum but it levels out with the musk beautifully. It has like a natural fresh skin scent to it. Seems pheromone-ish? For me, it works. This would be a great intimate fragrance to wear when you know you’re going to close to someone special, or loved ones in general.

Arfume

Narciso’s perfumes are great when you smell them but they are for you nose only. Weak sillage and longevity. Also each perfume resembles another narciso. Sorry but Narciso you should do better.

neonaya

Very diluted and soft wearable version of Poison Dior
