Narciso Eau de Toilette by Narciso Rodriguez is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. Narciso Eau de Toilette was launched in 2015. Top notes are Bulgarian Rose and Peony; middle note is Musk; base notes are White Cedar Extract, Cedar and Vetiver.

Designer Narciso Rodriguez continued with his minimalistic sensual fragrant creations made famous by his debut Narciso Rodriguez For Her from 2003, with the new edition Narciso Eau de Parfum from 2014. In June 2015, its new version Narciso Eau de Toilette comes out packed in a simple square black bottle.

Narciso Eau de Toilette stays true to the character of the original and maintains the same woody - musky composition. The fragrance differs in intensity of flowers in the top notes that, instead of gardenia and rose, provide peony and Bulgarian rose. The heart retains the original accords of musk, as well as the base, which features two types of cedar and vetiver.

It is available as 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette.

Bring this back along with the white cube!!! Why they always discontinue the best ones?!?

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

All I smell is peach and peony, the tiniest bit of musk. What the heck?

Autunna

Ah, Narciso Black Cube. I really like it.
To me it smells mysterious, charming, sophisticated not in an antique way, just very elegant. When you smell this Narciso it doesn't feel girly or unmistakably feminine, which adds to the mystery. It makes you want to know more and see who is the person wearing this.

I usually wear perfumes that smell like freshness and cleanliness, love the ones that are girly and nauseatingly sweet, but now that I found this one and wear it... It's just perfect.

On my skin the woody notes are enhanced and people around me described it as "soft" in the sense that there's no sharp note that drills the air. It's like a cloud of elegance and mysterious sensuality.

Beautiful to wear for special occasions, especially in the evening/night.

Narciso earned my respect in 2007, when I got my first bottle. I gave that as a gift for me after being approved on a test. His fragrances perform very well on my skin and last all day.

Then years later came Narciso Edp and then Edt.
I think they are quite similar, but the edt is more crisp and not as powdery. More everyday scent for someone who is not into powder scents. This has more woodsy notes, and is less heavier on the musk, in my opinion. But it lasts the same as the edp on my skin.

I love em both.
Discrete sillage and lasting power 7-8 h.
Work safe, date safe…
But try it first, for sure it is not everyones cup of tea. The keyword for this perfume is sophistication.
Worth to try!

Sexy, musky, sophisticated, and lasts ages on my skin, even when applied sparingly. I prefer more subtle fragrances, but this is very nice on occasion.

This perfumes embodies the vision I have for my ideal self! An unreachable one, as it is perfectionism, sadly!
It gives an aura of unattainable elegance and refinement. It is austere, more so then Narciso edp (white cube) of which it's a flanker/edt version, yet at the same time speaks of vulnerability and sensuality through its musk. A mix that leaves me dazed and spellbound.

The Narciso woman is a seductive, sensitive and grounded creature. With a character full of contrast and nuances.
The first two perfumes from the cube line, Narciso edp (white cube) and this one, the Narciso edt (black cube) represent this perfectly, they have delicacy, cleanleness and romanticism but also eroticism, sensuality and warmness all in one. The house itself refers to it as "pure sensuality".
In a word I would say they are enigmatic.
I envisage the person who wears them as confident, elegant, complex and unforgettable.

Eau de parfum and eau de toilete are almost the same perfume but, if you loved them both deeply as I have, some defining differences can be appreciated.
In terms of imagery, if Narciso edp was the scent of a fallen angel still yearning for paradise, alone but very much excited to soon partake in his new human sensuality (as I like to describe it in my review), this time, with the Narciso ept, the fallen angel rejects both dimensions...he almost wants to create an hierarchy of his own, and a world of his own.
The edt is much more cold and detached then edp version, it is probably the choice of different flowers that makes the musk appear less warm, but still much carnal and sensual. It is also more woody, earthy and clean (a tad soapy/aseptic at tract) which probably are the aspects that makes this appear more remote and cold.

To go more in depth: Narciso edt (black cube) is indeed more woody and earthy, the woods are incredible as in the edp, the white and black cedar extract are creamy and humid, they have a pencil shaving facet, even something of waxy...like polished wood, and of cosmetic like the old creamy base of 80's eyeshadow and like expensive body cream (nothing lipsticky, that is the Narciso Rouge edp). You can even say it is a smidge lactonic.
But in this edt version they woods are more vivid and projecting, also they have almost a plastick-y vein, which was missing from Narciso edp, and makes me love this version even more.
It is a gorgeous blend of woody notes that united with the florals, in both version, made for one of the most beautiful and touching "white" accord ever. Someone described the edp perfume as "white noise" and I think I understand fully what they meant, only I would apply that definition to edt.

The florals have the same poetic allure they had in Narciso edp (white cube).
They both have Bulgarian rose in it (some source say oil, some say extract, some say the rose is white some say is pink), what I smell in it is a very tender and sweet white rose, almost powdery (surely more powdery in the edp) that is hushed and made somber by the vetiver, a mesured vetiver but still quite hearty in the edp, much more aromatic and earthy in this edt version.
The major difference, however, between edp and edt is that here white peony takes the place of gardenia. They are very different flowers so the opening was meant to have their differences.
The gardenia added to the edp a lactonic, creamy and sweet touch yet tranforming itself in a more animalic, "cruel" and moody flower in the mid of the scent, here in the edt we have a white peony that smells clean, a tract even soapy; it is much fresh and adds to the scent a serious, aromatic and mineral touch, that is why I think the black cube is also a more unisex and androgynous version of Narciso. This flower can be heady, not rosy and fruity at all like the usual pink peony.
It is diaphanous, I can clearly smell that about it but it's much soiled by the vetiver. It is beautiful this mix, it is what makes me think of a more gloomy person wearing it.

What remains exactly the same between the two is the heart of musk, clean, creamy and carnal. It is the core of the scent, and I like to describe it as pulsating, a tract animalic but still very much neat. An addictive profound musk, capable of dulling the senses. Here it appears a tad more tamed, probably an illusion given by the different flower paired with it.
About the musk, I read it was a mix of different musks materials united to recreate the egyptian black musk dear to Msr. Narciso Rodriguez. It is pretty much embuded in all the Narciso cube line.

My review of both Narciso Rodriguez Narciso edp (white cube) and Narciso edt (black cube) will appear as exaggerated but personally I really feel this perfumes were different and 10 span above usual designer fragrances. They were the first perfumes that made me see perfumery as art, not as just another hobby of mine. A world was open to me...so I keep them in high regards and dear to my heart. I find them otherwordly beautiful, and when I wear them all sorts of poetic imagery flow to my head, to the point I do not feel worthy of wearing this beauties!

As I already said for Narciso edp, the scent fitted the brand's "high fashion bareness" style quite well. And the iconic colors of the brand were perctly embodied in the scents of the cube line...white, black, bone, beige, gloomy red, powdery pink, grey, blue, dirty salmon. Those detail really matter to whomever loves and appreciates fashion as an art too.
The ads were some of the best imagery since Calvin Klein's Obsession, in terms of how the scent pairs with the visuals.

I understsnd they were discontinued because of the lilial in it, a material that was banned by Ifra. And I wish the Narciso team could realise again at least one of the two...a reformulation should not be so difficoult since there are now on the market many valid substitute for that material. Unfortunatelly it seems they moved on from this "vision" or style.

On my review of Narciso edp I alredy wrote a long list of comparisons between the other brand's offerings, so I won't repeat myself, suffice to say that the one more close to this versions is, in my opinion, Narciso Rouge edt (red cube with transparent cap), then Narciso Poudree edp.
The For Her line is much different, both in style and materials...they don't even share the same musk, which in there is more dirty and less multifaceted.
Still, great creations which I enjoy a lot.
The house of Narciso Rodriguez has a very distinct identity and personality, dna is surely shared between all his offerings, you could blind smell all of them and recognise them as Narciso Rodriguez. And I feel it is worthy of respect when a house manages to do that without being redundant.
Their perfume for men are incredible too, most of them unisex, will make you smell like an androgynous angel! I suggest you try them if Narciso edp and edt are your style.

In terms of performance, Narciso edt behaves like an edp on my skin. Last me all day, with strong projection for the first 2 hours, then moderate projection from 3 to 4 hour. It is strong, and its dry down remains on my skin until night, the woods and the musk almost a second skin.
On me it performs even better then Narciso edp.
The packaging was well chosen for representing the line, and in this version its black, glossy color fits the scent perfectly.
If I ever find another bottle I shall surely snatched

Annybear

I really enjoy this scent but my dog hates it....if I had it on at bed, she wouldn't sleep in the same room as me.

ssamhita

I knew I would love this perfume even before I sprayed it. I received my partial nicely wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a paper bag, and even before I was done unwrapping, I could smell it. I remember thinking to myself that if this is what the actual perfume smells like, then I’d be the happiest woman ever.

How do I even begin to describe this scent? It’s edgy and enigmatic, and conjures the image of a woman who knows exactly what she wants and knows how to get it. I find this almost addictive. The musk is the most prominent note, of course, and the cedar and vetiver keep it nicely grounded and the rose in here is merely humming in the background, keeping this perfume teetering on unisex and stopping it from venturing into masculine territory (although I’d love to smell this one a man)

I reach for this perfume on days when I want to feel like a boss woman - one in charge of my life. It gives me a weird rush of confidence and happiness all at the same time, and I love that all it takes is a couple of sprays of perfume to make me feel that way. It lasts fairly well on me, but I also keep respraying simply because whenever I wear it I can’t stop thinking about it. That’s how much I love it. I wear it for me, and I don’t care if anyone else can smell me and if they like what they smell :)

chimidoro

This is one of the only scents that I've ever returned.
Might actually be the only one.
This was nothing compared to the original white cube. Weak, not lasting. Just bland. Had nothing going for it. Genuinely lacking compared to the original.
Surprised that it could be selling for quite a bit these days on eBay. It was no good then and it's still no good now. Why should it cost more?
🙄

hfigures

It's so loud and very floral. It smells the same to me from first spray to the dry down. I really feel like this fragrance is yelling at me with only two sprays. It does't have an inside voice until about 5-6 hours. Maybe I'm not accustomed to a scent with this kind of longevity and sillage on my skin. I can spray this once and walk through it and be good for the day.

ivanovamariyana97

I find this perfume to be very uniquely smelling, especially compared to other Narciso perfumes. Could be a signature scent, it's great for layering, unfortunately it’s discontinued :(. Personally I prefer wearing it during fall.

Martha236

I sell my 90ml bottle first edition from 2015

gatsby

I have a big 90 ml bottle, from 2015, first edition and the best one in terms of composition, sillage and longevity, if anyone in EU is interested for swap with Coco Noir, an older version of Dolce Vita or for sale.

courant

I am churning my way through my big tester bottle. I bought it not thinking it would be discontinued, thought I was being ridiculous and now I am measuring my puffs, hence the emotional churn. There is still a small bottle in the drawer. I love this, it suits me. It lasts on my skin for ages and it stays constant, doesn't morph. I like the way it dies, but now that it is discontinued I guess the white bottle is where I'm at

KateWest

Oh my god, thank god I'm not the only one who thinks this smells like Cartier Le Panthere. I thought I was hallucinating. I'm so confused because there's no animalic note in this but that's mainly what I'm smelling. Not mad at it though. I'm really enjoying this.

Tara Fiouzi

This is not the type of perfume I´d wear cause it smells too mature for a girl in her 20´s, although I have to admit that it smells elegant and expensive. I think on the right person it smells beautiful, I can imagine a lady in her late 40s very confident and classy wearing this to the office on an autumn day would be the perfect scenario for this scent

jamieeliana

I like the original, but this is my favorite scent from the Narciso line; I'm thrilled I was able to find a 100 ml bottle. I've been wearing this fragrance a lot lately; it's certainly a sexy power suit fragrance, and for an eau de toilette, it's pretty strong, dark, and rich. It has a really androgynous and somewhat masculine edge to it, which I love.

Diari

Now I understood the lavish praise Luca Turin gave Aurelien Guichard, also the man behind the original white cube. Prior to acquiring a bottle of the edt for myself I used to wonder what the hell he meant when he said "lactonic giant": the peach lactones! If milky lactones + gardenia are the supporting roles for musk in the original, it's peaches and dry woods here.

I smell a shadow of Mitsouko—in all her peachy, spicy chypre resplendence—keeps peeking out when you're most distracted, and warps into fluffy musk when near. It's less loud and its tone reserved, but the figure is handsome and rich. A shame that it's gone, alongside the edt version of Rouge.

Lady Nightshadow

This got discontinued but there are still a few bottles around, so it's time to make a final decision on this one.

Once sprayed on my skin and past the few inital seconds of alcohol, Narciso is a surprise: nothing in common with the classic Narciso Rodriguez line, at least at the beginning, but a woody scent with some hints of flowers.
It needs some minutes to warm up and develop a scent that can be recognized as the signature seal of Narciso Rodriguez: roses and musk, a classic designer crowd pleasing flowery fragrance. Gorgeous, no extravaganza, exactly what I enjoy.

While it evolves, the woods become significantly more prominent, leaving me wondering if a colder climate would help in turning down their volume, or it would make the fragrance even more dry and less sweet.
It's a mix of dried pink flowers, a bit powdery, on a base of aromatic, resinous woods.
Nonetheless, it stays feminine, elegant and classy. Just a bit more mature and deeper in comparison to the classics from this designer.
In the end, the woody / vetiver part is so pungent, that it partially reminds me of some maritime pine shower gel for men. This goes on for hours, to the point that I could still smell wood on my skin 12 hours later.

The performance is definitely better than the average EDT.
Overall, a good everyday scent, suitable for a professional environment and totally fine even for a night out.
It's a safe blind buy only if you like vetiver and woody floral fragrances.

Personally, I find myself going from diskile to love and back way too often, during the many changes of this scent, to go for a full bottle.

Cherry_Darling

I'm loving this one. It is woody and has a lot of depth with a dewy rose as some have stated, but the peonies and musk really whip this one up into a fluffy really wearable concoction. Not too sweet at all, not too much rose, it all blends together really well but still manages to pull off an oriental, deep rich vibe. A mature scent but not old school or vintage. One of the best of the line that I've tried. Vetiver and cedar not so present only in a "deep woodsy" kind of way, not in the individual tart / sharp way that these two notes tend to present. Edit: not loving the drydown. Smells stale and a little too common designer. Also so dry that it almost needs a dose of sweetness.

Lamiawitipo

This is not for everyone and not for any occasion, this is a little bit challenging comparing to the other cubes, it is raw and intimidating, a very natural dewy rose and wood, that's it, not a single drop of sweetness. I picture a successful woman, a lawer or politician maybe, wearing black suit and destroying her opponents with class and spirit, she is extremely smart, professional yet ultra feminine, she is also nice and approchable outside working hours. Someone here also mentioned a black and white movie and it's a perfect description too. It is extremely beautiful I can't get enough of it, the most underrated Narciso. For the sake of god don't sleep on it if you love the House.

iamrinchen

Bought it by mistake when I was online trying to by the Narciso Rodriguez for Her. But I ended up liking it. It smells like roses initially, then mellows out into a musky smell in a few hours.
It projects to about 1 meter, then turns into a skin scent after 5-6 hours. Can be layered with something more sweet to make it smell less like a grandma.

This is the type of scent to make you feel like a cold confident lady. I wore it to meet a former paramour and I think it definitely affected him. He isn't the type to get in his feelings, but not that day.

JaneVanDerWoodsen

I resisted this for a while after swearing off blind buys, but I have a thing for Narciso fragrances, so I bit the bullet and blind bought a massive, heavy, lifetime supply 90ml bottle (I hate to have larger than 30ml). Discontinued, I knew I'd always regret not getting my hands on it after lusting after that gorgeous black cube for so long. Every Narciso I've tried, I love (some not right away, but always eventually) and this is no exception!!

LOVE at first smell. It's dark, which could be power of suggestion encouraged by the color. Dark, warm musk. This might be the most prominent, musk-forward of all the Narcisos I've tried. It's woody and somehow a bit sweet, there's a phantom plum note, or a dark, unripe fruit. Black musky plums and rose. Usually I find peony a bit harsh and screechy, but this is so well blended it's only detectable when I really look for it. It's so clean and cozy. I think perfect for autumn weather. Unisex, definitely. I'd love to smell this on a guy. The white EDP sometimes begins a little wild and acetone-y, someone else described it as Black Swan, but 95% of the time I love it. This EDT gives me none of the strange chemical aroma; just an immediate warm, dark, cashmere robe.

If you're on the fence, just buy it already before it's too late!!

mikacorra247

Blind bought it because I've always been curious about the NR house, the bottle was beautiful and it was heavily discounted. And I ended up frustrated because I don't like it. 😫 I tried to get used to it, but it's headache-inducing to me.

To me, it's a woody rose perfume. It's sharp and dry, and leans more masculine - perhaps too masculine for my taste. I offered it to my dad who loves his manly colognes but even he scrunched his nose and said "uhhh..no thanks..maybe just wear it sparingly???" Now I have it on my wrists and TBH this has potential, I love the florals in here and I can see why people love it but perhaps it's the vetiver that is overpowering it. I'm getting wafts of it now and I can feel the headache starting to appear around my eyebrows and temples lol

I experienced a similar thing in JPG La Belle which also has vetiver in the base, a certain sharpness pops up after a while especially on my skin, but to a much lesser extent. But keep in mind, I live on a tropical island, so perhaps our weather here plays a part in this experience.

Also, I agree with others have said: this perfume is for someone who is confident and strong in personality.

TabledThoughts

Very grown up blast of rose-peony start with a dry, floral musky finish.
Just a hint of warmth, sweetness and sass.
Uber feminine.
Best for special occasions.
Not a huge fan as it is too thick on the florals.
Love the cool black cube, though.

imimsd12

This parfum is always at my reach..it fills all voids because it so pretty up lifting and easy to wear definitely third bottle worthy..

JLorenz

Dark and chic! This unique scent is best worn by a confident woman who knows what she wants. Smells expensive just like all NR fragrances.

ingeneuxo

-Narciso For Her (EDT) opens with a mild spice.
-Projection and Longevity are lacking in this fragrance.
-Dries down to a clean scent reminiscent of freshly-washed laundry.
-Not fbw. (-)
-Review based on a miniature splash bottle.

SBSVmuohoho

How does this one compare to the original edp??

CoffeeCup

This is such a melancholic, cinematographic scent. I've never smelled anything with that much sorrow in it before before.

Beautiful no doubt. Veiled, with a history, in a silent movie style. It's the echos of lauchters long passed, it's the reflections of chandeliers and polished wooden floors and young couples in tuxedos and silk dresses, covered with fur coats escaping parties held a hundred years ago.

It's like opening a closet that belonged to a grande dame, full of her haute couture gowns, embroidered satin ridicules, dainty shoes and jewellery she wore to the opera nearly a century ago. Grand, sparkling, high life, none of it remained, none of it remembered. A memoir. A dream. Not your own, but achingly real nonetheless.

It opens in a nostalgic, old fashioned way, reminds me of a time when perfumery was still an art and meant something, not merely a business endeavour. It's sharp like chypre, and then it's dusty and sweet. Alluring and enveloping, charming and bewitching. Intelligent. The poor target has no clue and does not stand a chance. My dear, these are the sweetest conquers, aren't they. Slow burn.

Sherine777

This is shadowed by the newer releases, but it really stands on its own. I love them all but this is my favorite.
The Bulgarian Rose and Peony give out this fruity youthful nuance that makes this one the most romantic out of all the cubes to me, I call it 'Love smell' in my head.
The white cube (Gardenia) is icy cold in comparison, love it too. Performance for both is the same.

shalimaraddict

This is a really underrated scent from Narciso Rodriguez, and from the Narciso line specifically. This one is more understated. I find this to be very unisex (as a lot of NR scents are). I enjoy the woodiness of the base with vetiver and cedar. The musk brings it together, with some rose as a floral note. It's a really lovely scent. The EDP is the polished proper older sister, this one is the more alternative rock chic younger sister. I think it's been discontinued which is sad.

drawingmaniac35

When I first tried this Narciso I thought it was a love! Then I got a full bottle and for a couple of wears, I did enjoy it. It lasts well, I did get compliments-quite a lot. However, at some point, I started to get whiffs of something sickeningly sweet. Someone mentioned baby's breath. I don't know what it is but I don't like it and I can't stand it. And it is all I get from the perfume for a while. I will give it a chance, though and I hope it grows on me.

I think I overspray it. If I go lightly, I see why I fell for this fragrance!

Update: This EDT is a chameleon with me. Today I don't feel that strong sweetness-I smell a sexy but tame semi-sweet woody rose. Very elegant, not too loud but noticeable still. Reminds me of a cashmere winter dress in soft beige. I was thinking of selling it but I guess I won't be able to part with this stunning fragrance.

catcat42

This is my favorite narciso, dark but elegant a very beautiful rose not boring at all!

nihalhel

I love all Narciso series. This is a little bit dark which I like more.

avmist

Moth balls. That's all I smell.

I wanted so much to like this, especially to be a daily easy grab. Unfortunately for me, I just...smell moth balls. So disappointed :(

Miasha

Anything less than 90 ml is too small a bottle for this... as well as for all the Narciso’s. Love it, love it!! Some say that there is something masculine about it: that would be because of the vetiver. But it is done very beautifully I think - not too much; just enough to make it interesting and a little bit cool. Very feminine to my nose. I really hope it will not be discontinued, like someone said??
Everyone at my work wanted to buy this when I showed them...

Katou117

I'm in love with the Naciso cubes. I have the white, black and rouge. Love them all and they are really compliments getter. just today I received
compliments from 3 different persons at work saying that I smell soooooooo good lol and they are used to smell a different perfume every day on me because I have quite a big amount of perfumes, don't wear the same 2 days in a row but with these cubes I always get compliments, especially with this one. Just missing the poudre to complete my cubes collection

Unfurling Blossoms

This has a natural earthy, woody smell as oppose to the EDP that has none of those things and smells like a sweet lotion with baby powder. However, the EDT has the same sweetness of the EDP that just puts me off. It's a gentle sweetness like the kind you get when smelling a newborn baby's breath. As cute as it may seem some people just don't like cute or sweet perfumes. My Narciso loves are the Pure Musc (which smells divinely like J'adore L'or) and both Narciso for Hers - naturally dry and earthy botanicals; so beautiful!

Cassiano

In 2014, a new pillar of women's fragrances was launched by Narciso Rodriguez. Narciso Eau de Parfum arrived on a white cube, raising the peace flag, but deep down it wanted to get in trouble with the competition. It caught a lot of attention, made noise and bothered. In mid-2015, the company decided to keep going and launched Narciso Eau de Toilette, now in a cube of black paint and white letters, bringing an opposite pattern, as previously adopted in the “For Her” line.

The fragrance revealed Narciso's plans for this collection: to keep the musk in the center and the woody base with cedars and vetiver. The change had to be subtle, but enough to set the tone. So, the gardenia came out and the peony came in, more radiant, as an Eau de Toilette must be.
To illustrate the olfactory pyramid, here go the notes: Bulgarian rose and peonies at the top; Musk in the body; Vetiver and extracts of white and black cedar at the base. Classified as musky-floral-woody (the previous version is woody-floral-musky), this fragrance has left behind the ancient soul and jumped straight into the present, bringing the same DNA and the same representativeness, but with a more versatile and youthful style.

Now, the rose is present and gets the reinforcement of the peony (whose smell of roses confuses many people). Amber was not brought to this flanker either and the musk is pure, almost wild. It is practically the same fragrance, only modernized. It portrays the same woman, but she has undergone a transformation and seems to have come out of a TV show, with cut and dyed hair, updated makeup, and clothes that enhance her body's strengths.

Narciso Eau de Toilette is an excellent variation from the previous version and I love this kind of continuity. For many people, launching a fragrance line that only changes one note or another, but the drying remains the same, is a pure lack of creativity. For me, in particular, it is a way of portraying the various nuances of the same person. There is a definite olfactory signature that only changes small facets: daytime, sober, classic, sensual...anyway, everyone knows you're around, but your scent changes along with one detail that could be the pair of your shoes or the color of the lipstick.

The creamy and indolic smell no longer exists. The slightly powdery profile does not either. If this was an issue before, your problems are over! But this Eau de Toilette version escapes the commonplace that states that every EDT perfume tends to exhale more than EDP. Narciso Eau de Toilette lasts long but does not exude like Narciso Eau de Parfum, which leaves a powerful trail wherever you go.

Black or white? It does not matter. For Narciso, you can choose or it can be both. After all, there are days when you are light and others when you are darkness.

SPena

I tryed it last weekend and at first, it smell nice and soft but after a few minutes it turns into a heavy and not pleasant smell. I hated it.
Besides, my husband told me that I smelled like funeral =(

auroramaria

Beautiful combination of peony and rose on a bed of soft warm musk, very feminine and elegant also it wears better than an EDP.

meg0825

I adore all Narciso Rodriguez fragrances and this is no exception. It's fabulous! This cube features fresh and airy rose and peony along with the signature heart of musk and toasty vetiver-cedar dry down. You can always count on NR to deliver sophisticated scents with excellent sillage and longevity. This house never disappoints!

colorfulmess

A very interesting rose, not a light rose water but a deep rose musk, almost bubble-gum like in its intensity. I love the addition of peony and cedar, it makes for an attention-grabber. I wear this in the winter on a wool coat, its divine. My favorite from this house.

ptilda

I have the EDP in the white cube, and received this travel spray from a friend. This is very much like the EDP, but less cloying in the heat, and a touch more sweet and feminine. I would have expected some other florals listed. I get the rose, I don't get peony at all, but maybe Ylang-Ylang?

It of course has the typical NR musk that ALL their scents has. I'd love for them to come out with something new, because I feel this genre has been exhausted! But it's very lovely. I don't need it since I have 3 other Narciso.

Longevity is quite good. Sprayed once a couple of hours ago and it's easily wafting up to my nose consistently despite having several other scents sprayed on other parts of my arms!

bluejellyfish444

Fell in love with this the first time I tested it. Its a clean, comforting scent; reminds me of a freshly washed blanket. For an EDT, the sillage is amazing.

Sherine777

She shares the same woody spirit of her white sister, but instead of creamy Gardenia, here it's fluffy Rose and Peony, she's airier..

They are similar but yet different.. Like 2 cups of tea but with different flavors :)

I don't really set a time to wear perfumes, just whatever I feel like wearing, but I would say the black is more for day and the white is more for night.

Both are beautiful and it's worth having them both.

cocofluff

I love it!

This is less woody than the EDP. I smell the peony and it's fab. The EDP is all class. The EDT is the EDP's fun younger sister. -

spyral.1

Narciso EDP is a favorite so I thought I'd give this one a go. The EDT is just as long lasting but I find to be a softer, more powdery-floral version that will be suitable for the daytime and warmer weather. The musk is much more subdued here and the peony and rose are more noticeable on me. Sadly, rose has a tendency to trigger headaches. Bummer. It sure is a pretty scent nonetheless.

louiee

Im a really big fan of all of Narcisos perfumes. They all share the same dna, but all have a different expresssion. This one is for me a little bit “ darker” than the rest of the lot. The same musky, woody and rose vibe... but still a bit darker.
Gourgegous, clean, feminine and classy.
I really adore Narcisos little masterpieces one by one... and this is No exception.
Sexy, elegant and seductive... nothing more and nothing less.
Silage and longevity is above avarege on both skin and clothes on me.
Amazing !

Barbarella1902

I’m a Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez lover, it’s one of my favourite fragrances. Today I’ve tried this one, I was doubtful because it is am EDT and I use only EDP but it surprised me, its longevity is good and the fragrance is a sexy musky/rose/peony scent, very sophisticated and pleasant.... it smels delicious and it’s very particular, it could be my spring choice... very good!

Shadow_Witch

My favorite chypre floral of forever and all time is vintage La Perla for women in the little black glass with gold lid atomizer. I still have a couple ml left. Narciso EdT wowed me when I tested it for the first time last spring. I couldn't get over how it smelled... like me! A couple weeks ago I dig out my La Perla to wear to dinner out. All evening I kept getting whiffs of Narciso EdT. I figured of course someone was wearing Narciso EdT at the restaurant we were at. Okay. But I could still smell Narciso EdT in the car driving home. I sniff my wrist and it was ME. When I got home I applied my Narciso EdT to my arm, waited 20 minutes and then compared the two. I am here to tell you that if like me you love vintage La Perla for women, Narciso EdT is a somewhat de-constructed modern take on vintage La Perla for women.

sopke

I get each and every note from it and all of them play so nicely into one end result. It is more to the sweet side, very musky, rose and peony have their own chat, just like ladies at cafe. Vetiver is the silent lady-friend :D until i have not checked the notes, i was sure it has patchouli, but i guess my nose mixed it with vetiver. Long lasting beauty (6-8 hours on a wrist). It is worth at least trying in the nowadays popularity regaining musk area.

Dcarlo

Not a different concentration of Narciso eau de parfum but a lovely reinterpretation worth having both perfumes.
This one is a magic and feminine peony wrapped in musk and cedar. Here we are missing the nocturnal gardenia but that makes it perfect for daytime.
It is not a soft fragrance, it will make you being noticed but is so beautifully mixed that I can’t see anyone disliking it.
Narciso Rodriguez really caught all my attention with these perfumes.
In a world saturated by gourmands, Narciso is a pleasant option.

RoseSoul

I gave up on it in a swap. Unfortunately, I loved it in the middle of winter, when all I could smell was a wonderful mix of peaches and roses, but I could not wear it for the rest of the year. So sad, because there are very few perfumes from Narciso that I would not buy again ...

Is less creamy than the perfume (White cube). Excellent longevity and persistence.

I'm 21, a laid-back gal, and I love this perfume so much. It's a bed of chic, quality musk with some distinctly ghost-like floral notes hovering in it. It's more sheer than the parfum, as you might expect. The rose is modern and super sensual (and I'm someone who really dislikes rose), the vetiver gives it a mysterious dry freshness. It's like white sheets in a cabin in the woods, coolly haunted, extra fashionable. I like the parfum as well-- it's more vibrant, intense, and wetly musky, like the more rebellious and sexually available best friend. However, I think the genius concept behind this fragrance is executed just as well if not better with the toilette. It is most certainly more accessible as a daily wear fragrance for those that like freshness and mystery. Wear this on your white t-shirt and Levi's + heels days, and the parfum for pure seduction.

EmmaBelle

Oh this is superb. Soft musk and peony mingled with the rose, white cedar, vetiver...all the notes working sublimely together. Unisex vibes. I find this scent deeply soothing and comforting, ahhh.

Perfumes like this remind me why I test and test. Because when I find a scent that has an emotional kind of effect on me, then it's worth having sniffed 50 other stinkers to get there. Love, like, dislike? This goes in my "died and gone to heaven" section, and is on my Xmas list.

cufberte.daniem

Oh, this one is darn delicious. It's a bit plasticky but also a very rosy & floral. Soft white musk in a very NR way. Tangy, sensual and beautiful.

sarah.brooks

I like this one also... all them are really different..and very femme love it

mesha2sweet

I have been converted & convinced that Narciso Rodriguez is the GOAT (greatest of all time) of musk fragrances. He just gets it right & dammit I work hard, so that I can treat myself with the things that I love. And I LOVE his masterpieces!

At first spray, Narciso edt is slightly sweet dry woodiness... Mmmm must be the florals & cedar combo elegantly dancing on my skin. This fragrance surrounds me with a soft sweet creamy cloud of roses. Feels like a deep red dried rose. Mmmm must be the vetiver blessing me with that dry effect. The drydown is unbelievably beautiful. Musk is here, but way less prominent. This is yet another winner from Narciso.

Longevity: 7+hrs. Just erase edt from your mind because she behaves better than most edps

Sillage: Moderate. This is not an intimate scent until hrs later.

Regrets: ZERO

LadyIva

All fragrances from the Narciso line (in cubical bottles) turn very powdery on my skin, and the black EDT is no exception. Fortunately it does not have the suffocating sweetness of the Poudree version. I can smell peony and rose, and some musk, and basically that’s it.

embomb

Zenais86, you can wear it if you like it. Don't be put off by the marketing, all fragrances are unisex.

I'm actually surprised by the amount of cedar in this. I don't have anything else like this so I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but when the cedar hit me I really fell for the whole composition. This is so nice to wear and continues to grow on me every time I do. It's also quite long lasting, takes me all the way through a work day at the office.

Skayalily

This is the "floraliest" Narciso to me; the peony actually slightly edges out the musk in my experience. This was surprising, but the peony note can trigger a migraine for me, so perhaps I'm extra sensitive to it. It doesn't in this scent, but it still isn't quite a like (My favorite Narcisos are in the "for her" family, tall bottles). It's a strong and nice scent; melding with the skin for a soft cloud and lingering in that cozy way that musk does.

nellyrlight

One of my most favorite designers..His perfumes are never a disappointment. They are unique, never done before kind, and have incredible longevity on skin. This was no exception..Adore!!

zenais86

I really like this perfume.. it is for woman? the promoter sprayed it on my harms but i felt it is more for woman ( ineed fragrantica said it is for woman) but the promoter told me that it is unisex. Wow, longevity and performance are so good! i really like it. I can as a youngman wear it? i totally love it! =(

demhayerawsah

I am shocked at the hate this perfume has received!
I wear this regularly (particularly in evenings and in the winter) and I bought it because it was a more accessible version of the original EDP which I found too overpowering.

Make no mistake, this fragrance is sharp, intense and has a masculine touch.
Having said that, it has a beautiful dry down and you are left bathing in the creamy scents of wood, musk and rose.

One of the most long lasting perfumes I own and evolves a lot from the first spray until bed time. A quiet unfolding and unique smell make this a keeper and a perfume I will buy again and again.

carmackmonique

I read the reviews and decided to blind buy this. That was a mistake. I am really new to Narciso and his line but I recently bought For Her EDP and OMG! It was love at first sniff! I wear it every day and my students always compliments me.

I think its fall/winter scent but I was still looking for something a little stronger so I bought this and it was sooooo manly on me.

I was so sad, but I will just give it to my dad.

I was really hoping to like this one but on me it just didn't work :(

raiza1990

Call me crazy, but i could swear there was peach on it. The opening was very fruity on me. I am surprised to see there are no fruit notes in the composition.
Anyway, it is a nice perfume, but it didn't impressed me.
I prefer the one in the white bottle.
This one is sweet, powdery and rosy. A bit boring.
I agree with a reviwer who said this smells a bit like candy floss.
What more can i say? i will pass.

Ynys

Nausea and headache inducing. Thick and sickly. Think fresh tarmac with candy floss. Just sprayed a sample and want to scrub myself to get rid of the stench.

Neosmiaphyte

On me this is a masculine, linear, musky, green woods. I did not get any floral or hints of femininity. I sneeze throughout the duration of wear. Another one for my husband’s medicine cabinet

PerfuMEOW

Classier version of SJP Lovely, which I love on others, but a little too sharp/musky on myself.

shalimaraddict

I quite enjoy this version of Narciso. It is more unisex with peony and rose, and has a nice musky heart, with vetiver and cedar in the base. A really unique scent, that has a powdery feel to it. I really enjoy it more than the EDP, which has gardenia instead. The bottle is lovely as well.

rola.asad

This edition and the white EDP are almost the same, but instead of gardenia they used peony here, perfect for summer, men can wear it easily, the sillage and longevity both are awesome!
For Narciso Rodriguez, I don’t care about EDP or EDT they know how to manage the power of their scents!

Instant headache.. Very sweet, overwhelming and annoying...Not sure how other people love it. Thank you. Not for me. Please try before blind buying.

This is yet another outstanding perfume NR proposes to the market and I'm now fully convinced that he never misses to offer new, special, never-done-before fragrances. All of his offerings are hits and quite impressive overall.

This perfume is the perfect balance beteween sweet, musky, woody. It always has the characteristic musc base of all the NR but is sweetened with peony and rose notes that make this perfume more juvenile, playful and shiny. It's very well balanced which makes it perfectly wearable for women of every age and of course the perfect gift. I tested it only yesterday and remained pleasently surprised by it. Even people who are not very fond of musc perfumes should definitely give it a try as I believe this is one of the few NR perfumes where musk isn't all that prominent but well tempered with sweet notes.

xxxadoniaxxx

Not much different from Poudree and Narciso EDP. It's still musky but cooler and cleaner than the other two. I'd say it's closer to the EDP than to Poudree. I do like it, but at the same time I don't feel like paying for the watered down version of the EDP. Narciso EDT is the way to go if you find the EDP and Poudree too much for hot weather.

piahellgren

I don´t know what´s going on. I never fell for the original black and pink bottles, even though they´re pretty... Then I tried Narciso Narciso edp and liked it a lot. Then I read about this and it sounded wonderful. Got it and I also got Fleur Musc and I am ABSOLUTELY bonkers about both of them! I have written a review on the Fleur Musc as well, but this one... it´s so sensual and comforting and still sparkly and slightly fruity and super sexy and melds SO well with my skin. It´s a soft, but also sharp musky peony-rose- how can this be? It feels like it´s alive on my skin, almost. cedar is still my favourite wood in perfumes even though not always so subtle, but I love that slightly sour and tough woodiness of cedar. The vetiver here is both green and smooth- again, this perfume shows paradoxes and that is what some of my favourite perfumes always do! This one is neither cold not warm, but it´s both smooth and sharp and I love it. So this is what I do: I spray quite a lot of this after showering in the evening (I always shower in the evenings when I work) and then I go to sleep. In the morning I spray the Fleur Musc on top of this one. The result is just more than divine!

dilianavk

A big love for me! Usually I would not call any scent signature for me, but this one may win

missk

Narciso EDT shares many similarities with the original Narciso EDP. They are both sensual musks, however if I were to nit-pick, Narciso EDT is slightly crisper and more clean smelling than the original.

Narciso EDT has quite a seamless composition where every single note blends into one singular aroma. The peony and rose add a delightful, feminine floralcy, whereas the cedar and white musk provide some much needed depth.

I prefer the Narciso range to the Narciso Rodriguez EDT and EDP varieties. I find them to be much more wearable and less polarising. Both Narciso EDT and EDP wear like a subtle skin scent, enticing to those within a close proximity. You could own either of these concentrations and be impressed by both their sillage and longevity as neither of them appear to be better than the other.

I personally prefer Narciso EDP, but my choice has more to do with my preference for the white bottle design than for the scent itself. Essentially what I'm trying to say is that you don't need to own both as their differences are very minute.

A laundry-fresh musk this fragrance certainly is not, but if slightly animalic, sensual musks are more to your tastes, definitely give this range a try.

UnearthlyApothecary

First off, I do not find this to be much lighter then the EDP at all. It has the same power/silage. Don't even think of this as an EDT it's just a slightly different version of the same scent. The only difference being the floral notes. It is so similar, but the creamy quality that gardenia adds to the EDP isn't present here. I may actually wear this version more as the gardenia in the EDP can go sharp and soapy on me at times. All the gorgeous musk, ceder and vetiver is still here in the same amounts. The florals take a back seat to the woods in this scent, I find it quite unisex. If you aren't a fan of musk or woods don't even touch these lol

lukafrod

it is even better i could think about. long time i'm looking for fragrance that i say WOW from first trying. it was really WOW.

Swandella

Sparkly dancing shoes, black fitted dress above the knee in the middle of the dance floor heating up the perfume filling the dance floor with sexy safistication.

Longevity is excellent!

As usual Well Done Narciso

WELL DONE SON FOR GIFTING THIS TO ME! MUAH!

nguyenvuhungvuong

Very sexy and long lasting perfume

What I like about Narciso Rodriguez perfumes is that you know you're trying something from this brand
When first sprayed I can get a narciso gene but not that it was really similar to it's white sister.initial stage is all about peony and rose blended with special narciso musk.flowers are fresh and I feel musk is a little less pronounced comparing to EDP version(still a totally musky scent).to my nose rose notes have sometimes a hint of berry-like fruity undertone and it's the case here in the initial stage.as woody notes kick in florals walk to shadow.I can see the nutty vibe other reviews talking about and I like it when woods appear in such a nice dry, nutty way.as it dries down I can see much more similarities to EDP version.they are very close in the drydown just that there's no gardenia milkyness in edt.florals are fresh,a little powdery instead of being milky and this makes the overall scent seem crisp, drier, less creamy and less musky.on my skin edt feels more woody and darker
Unlike everyone,I don't see edt as a softer version or the one for day wear.edp's creamy brightness makes me consider it day sister comparing to edt but all in all both of them are suitable for both day and night wear IMHO.both of them appear very well-mannered,well balanced, not in your face or heavy on my skin so I see both of them wearable year round.
I don't have edt yet but I'm definitely going to buy it as soon as I find a good deal.I can't decide which one I like more,I think it depends on my mood and now I feel I like EDP a little more.EDP is more comforting and calm for me,while edt has an interesting naughty side(maybe because of it's nutty notes or darker woodyness?!)so my moods will choose right day for each one
By the way it has very good longevity.I've not compared this sister's longevity and sillage, I know that far that both are satisfying

rostov14

Bold, Bright and Beautiful Musk, in which the balance is struck just right between femininity and masculinity, between airiness and earthiness of floral and woody notes. Strangely, the interplay of Rose and Peony accords in the opening reminds me of L'absolu NR, EDP with its unashamedly sensual Tuberous and Jasmine duet. Only here the flowers are more fresh and abstract, and subdued by the powerful will of the woods.
Cedar is prominent that gives to the whole composition slightly androgynous feel.
I, too, smell the pencil sharpenings along with the smokiness of the vetiver here - very much to my liking indeed. With this scent on, I feel like I am wearing a new suede jacket; sophisticated, sexy and totally cool.
This is a chic perfume. Lustrous, luxuriant and long lasting; less dense and authoritarian than Narciso EDP and so more wearable, even more fun IMHO.
Anyway, love them both. They're very alike ¡!

PocketRocket

From the reviews below either you love this or hate it. There's no in between. To those who think this perfume is a travesty, horrendous and just plain wrong, or any Narciso Rodriguez perfume in general. It just means this is not for you. No it isn't skunky. The positive reviews beg to differ. Nobody can call this simple or uncomplicated. Those saying people only liked this because of the bottle, why be condescending? Give people enough credit.

If you're wondering why this smells so 'off' to you. Think about it this way; musk is a very complicated note in perfumery. Some people are anosmic to it, some people are very sensitive and some are just offended by any musk. There's no concrete way to find out how one person exactly perceive smell compared to your perception. Focus on the word PERCEPTION. Your brain interprets how you 'think' it smells. Am I saying people not liking this are dense? No. What I'm saying is your odor profile vocabulary may be different to mine or theirs.

I hated Poudree the first time I tested it but found myself going back and had to realize I need to have that and other Narciso frags. If after several testing and this is still not for you. It's just that. It's not for you. Just move along.

leslee.long.5

Review based on an in-store generous spritz on the top of my hand.

For an EDT, this one is not the weak and barely there fragrance one often finds these days for a premium price. This one has teeth and attaches firmly to the skin, even on a fragrance eater surface like me.

Narciso opens with a a peppery and very slightly melon hinted rising stream, with the rose playing out with notes that suggest a light chypre with a touch of powder. The peppery notes remind quite a bit of the opening of Versace Crystal Noir but packing far more punch.

This is a quality fragrance that does not smell cheap by any means whatsoever. The nose behind it is gifted with the ability to create a 3 D perfume that seems so layered that you can almost dip your finger into a little pool of fragrance and somehow touch each layer.

Within an hour, this turned into an earthy sharp peppery urine smell, losing almost all of the powdery or floral to give it some balance after being dried out with woods and vetiver. The cedar is part of the problem but it also tries to freshen it up at the same time, confusing my nose further.

The longevity and silage is good but I don't want to smell like this thoughts make it an unwanted bonus for me. On me, this doesn't smell feminine and I wouldn't be attracted to a man that smelled of this.

This is a giant no for me and I would not give it as a gift. I would not recommend blind buying this one, it seems to work well for some people but it is not a one size fits most type of fragrance, so at least make sure to use a sample first if a tester is not available.

aquarius_moon

I’ve never been sprayed by a skunk or indeed lived anywhere where there’d be a danger of that, but my imagination will henceforth insist it’s just like being sprayed by Narciso Rodriguez.

In fairness, I’ve only tried this and two other Narciso fragrances on paper, but that’s because I found them so vile I couldn’t bear to try them on skin. ‘Vile’ is a word I may have used lightly in the past, but now I realize that on all previous occasions I merely meant something like ‘too sharp,’ ‘too strong,’ ‘too cloying,’ ‘too much of this or that note that I don’t like.’ Narciso is the first perfume ever that I’d call, in all seriousness, a stench.

A single spritz on a paper strip, and I recoiled in disgust. Return to it periodically every half hour—same thing. Repeat with Poudre—more of the same thing, only of a slightly lesser intensity. Repeat with the one in the white bottle—a lesser intensity yet, almost bearable by comparison, but still not. All of them are all about musk, but in a way I’d never experienced it before—animalic in a bad way and, at the same time, as harshly synthetic as burning plastic.

I mean no offense to anyone who likes Narciso scents (I guess they must transform on skin), but I can’t emphasize enough how much they’re NOT safe blind buys. The bottle is so appealing that it might seduce you into buying blind (as I almost did), and you might even be willing to put up with a so-so scent (as I was). The notes and the fact that I’d never disliked musk before had made me think that Narciso couldn't be worse than pedestrian, but in truth it has the potential to strike you as infinitely worse than that.

The upside of the experience is that it was educational. For me, musk had always been a pleasant yet vaguely defined note. Post-Narciso, it’s so clearly etched in my mind that even something like a Felce Azzurra shower gel, innocuous and familiar since childhood, gives me a twitch of wary recognition.

christobellious

less sharp than Narciso For Her EDT, which used to be my signature scent. It is a classic combination of musk, peony, rose and cedar. It has great depth.I like it but the rose is a little much for me and it would benefit from some other ingredients to give it complexity.

Jillzilla

Rosey-musky with a warm, earthy, dry-grassy influence from the vetiver. The vetiver is so pronounced on my skin that it feels a bit masculine and also vintage-y! I didn't get much cedar, which is a note I love. Still, it seemed to work really well with my chemistry, but maybe I was in the wrong mood (or the wrong weather) when I tested it, because I kept asking myself whether I wanted to smell like this. I am undecided and want to test it again for another impression!

Anywho

I tested Narciso edt and edp today. Edt is horrendous, the opening is unbearably screechy and harsh (reminded me of the dry down of Juozas Statkevicius, just as unpleasant) - I didn't even wait for the middle or dry down. The edp is more sufferable because the smooth creaminess softens the blow a bit. When I checked the notes I found the culprit - cedar. I only tolerate cedar when it is well-blended and plays more of a supporting role than a leading role. Both scents are only for cedar lovers, I suppose. Both variations are not for me, but I think I could appreciate the edp on someone else more than the edt.

misslawbore

Another example of the triumph of style over content as with many modern perfumes. People are seduced by the appearance of the bottle and the packaging and go into denial about the actual scent. This is just what the perfume corporates want you to do, aided by slick advertising. It's like the emperor's new clothes. The scent itself is tinny and metallic with a sweet fruitiness. OK if you like tinny and metallic and sweet fruitiness. But subtle it ain't and what is worse, in quite a short time there is a faint bleach smell. I've noticed this in a few perfumes and it's a killer, no idea what causes it, but it always spoils a perfume for me (unless you like bleach). My conclusion: sadly forgettable and sorry if you got it given to you for Christmas like me. I binned it.

Lagniappe

Flowery musk. I'm a sucker for NR. I didn't care for the EDP (white bottle) I found it too creamy and had a weird spicy smell I didn't get with this one. I bought this blind, which I wouldn't recommend because I bought the EDP too and I can only pull off this one. So sexy and sophisticated!!!

again, i don't really care if Narciso is coming out with almost similar scent in every bottles. what words i can say......, this one is gorgeous flowery, musky and woody vibe. really warm, seductive, alluring, sexy and charming mature scent. every time i wear it and i get compliments.

genny17

I admit I am not a fan of NR usually...I find most of his fragrances dusty and dry...but I tried this one., then left the store...I kept smelling my wrist, oh my, I liked it, it isn't screechy, or dry, it just smells great, the top notes are strong, and true it has a soapy rosy vibe, but shortly only.....the woods aren't dominant on me, the musk is rather well blended in with the flowers..overall, such a lovely perfume..feminine, stylish. Sexy too...I went back and bought it, although I am on a no buy for a while.i just find it smells attractive, it is creamy , well done..and mature in a modern way!!!

Edemay

Ugh i actually wanted the frag until i tried it on my skin,
sorry to say but it smells like old musky soap
and i tried scrubbing it off twice and my arm still reeks.
The white one smells a little better but both are still a dislike for me.

Make sure to try this on your skin before buying.

elizamannion

Love this perfume and it reminds me of Sarah Jessica Parka Lovely which is being discontinued. It is one of the few perfumes which has staying power, I can smell it, others can but are not over powered by the fragrance unlike Alien which is VILE and triggers a migraine when I smell it. It is sexy and subtle without being obvious...warm and beautiful!

Awater01

I am wearing both as a side by side comparison and I much prefer the white EDP over the black EDT. I think it's the peony that turns me off with this one. Love the musky woods of both, but this one doesn't have the same sweet milky floral note that I love in the EDP.

littlepepperz

Is it possible for me to:
- love gardenia (seriously, obsessed with this flower),
- not be crazy about roses,
- dislike the white bottle, edp,
- fall in love with the black bottle, edt?

Turns out - it is!
This is glorious! Modern, woody musk, full of surprises and mistery. Can be worn in a professional environment, can be dolled up to be sexy. So versatile, yet nothing 'boring' and predictible about this unique fragrance.
EDP was too strong for me - something powdery/sharp pierced my nose, that was just too heavy. EDT is creamy, nutty, long lasting and completely original, no other scent like it.

Rux2589

Love at first sniff! Usually, I don't get along well with Narciso Rodriguez fragrances but after all the positive reviews I just had to give this one a try. The rose and musk are very prominent. It reminds me of Armani Diamonds Rose, except it's not as sweet or synthetic. I could easily wear it every day without getting bored and right now it's at the top of my wishlist. ;)

Lisa290872

Well this is a beautiful little treasure. Even though I love the other Narciso Rodriguez fragrances I find them a little over powering. When Narciso eau de parfum came out I had high hopes but it was too powdery and creamy for me. But this one is truly special. It has the signature musk of Narciso Rodriguez but it is delicate in its approach. It will seduce a man without him realising he is being seduced. The lightness gives you that just got out of the shower feeling I love with the musky sexiness that all women want. It also has a ever so slight sweet quality that keeps it from being harsh. Perfect!

Update Edit. Has become my favourite perfume of the modern age. Like Elena of Perfume Shrine I can't stop smelling my wrists and we're way past the honeymoon stage. Put a ring on it.

It's the Goldilocks syndrome, it has to be 'just right' So, if we're preaching to the converted and you're familiar with 'For Her' Black or Pink, or 'In Colour' or 'Musc Intense' or Narciso 'White' then you are programmed to be quite receptive anyway.
Goldilocks went to the Bears house and tried their porridge, came back the next day and tried their armchairs and finally, third time lucky, (or not so) when the little bear's bed was 'just right' she fell asleep. My battle with NR is not with the perfumes, but the naming of them. As with Lolita Lempicka you can't just throw a name at your friends who might enquire after your perfume....ah yes, it's the pink bottle that has a black box, no, no, I've got it wrong, it's the black bottle that has a pink box, oh dear, it's the eau de parfum with the lovely sillage, but no, hang on, it's the EDT that wafts around??? Isn't that right? Confused? It's soap, but not as we know it.

Narciso 'Black' EDT benefits from a generous application, more sprays than you would normally use, but suitably nuked it will last many hours. Another reviewer (Christianne) says she wants to hoard it and I have to confess I do too. It's gong to be at your perfume counter, easily sampled, so I won't go into the fragrance notes. My husband loves these summertime musks when I wear them and sometimes in my perfume memory a candle strength of Houbigant White Musk flickers through them and makes me feel young again, now that's got to be worth the money.

This was my first try in NR line. Actually it's not my type of interest despite its components (musk, rose). A big NO for me, unfortunately.

I tested Narciso EDT today on my (male) skin. I had very strange feeling that I'd smelt something like this before. I couldn't remember, but suddenly... Voilà! - Art Homme by Masaki Matsushima (which I had (and liked)). It's odd, because comparing official notes, they are not similar. But on my skin they are almost the same. Hmm.. Maybe because of woody-musky (and somehow fresh) drydown.. Funny discovery :)

fuffilina

Narciso EDT is a woody musky screamer of a date! I love her! She's more subtle than her EDP sister but just as fun. She's got strong legs of wood with a musk heart and a head full of rose. Really fun to wear and will get you noticed for the right reasons. Hold on tight!

I actually didn't want to purchase this, since I already have the edp (white cube) and love it. But I made "a mistake", I tested this perfume and... fell in love immediately. I agree, this has the same feminine, elegant, a bit damp, musky "Narciso Rodriguez" vibe (I think all NR fans know what I mean), but this more transparent, more sparkling, less fluffy, less creamy than the edp version. This perfume is like your skin, it sits close to you and whispers softly. The opening is fresh, almost slightly peppery to my nose and flowery (like a fresh, warm spicy rose). And then comes the miracle which made me fall in love -I get a pronounced, quite realistic nut scent. Something woody, delicious, crisp. I understand it must me the vetiver creating this effect, and it's gorgeous! I just wish, this nutty stage lasted longer (on me it's only about 10 minutes). After that this perfume becomes very, very close to the edp -musky, spicy, creamy rose mixed with some mystery, darkness and elegance. By the way- the base keeps developing -it's getting more and more dry, woody, musky. My beloved nut note comes back! The flowers almost disappear, the wood and musk notes stay and make the perfume so sensual, so tempting...

Well said, @Mellyhelly!

Fragrance13

Not a fan of this scent.

Mellyhelly

I like this EdT version more than the white bottle. As usual with NR, you never know what they really smell until you try them on your skin. I was a fan of first NR EdT in the black bottle and didn't care for any EdP.
IMO this Narciso EdT smells more interesting than EdP. It's similar yet different. I like it from first spray to the very end and in the middle.
I think that the blending is very well done, because you don't smell separate notes here but they are all mingled togetehr and yet very present. The woods combined with vetiver and the typical musk note make a very aromatic mix with just a touch of peony and maybe rose, but rose here is not so noticeable. This is definetely not a rose perfume, rather a woody musk one and very clean.
I feel comfortable wearing this.
It's a modern straight-to-the-point kind of perfume, so it lacks the traditional layering of notes, no big evolution.
It suits a modern suit style and it's not out of place at workplace. It smells like one expect a fashionable lady in career would smell.
My only complain is that it's not strong at all. Given the high price I would have liked some more oomph and intensity.
The lasting power is not bad, but it keeps close to the skin after 1 hour.

I have a chance to test this product once. It was great. I absolutely like it...
dreamy, creamy, .. The best famine perfume from Narciso Rodriguez.

Elenose

I don't know why, perhaps it's my memory fault, but this perfume reminds me a lot aromatics elixir by clinique, in a softer way. It doesn't impress me much.

Elisabeth M.

...smells like success. Modern, direct, luxurious. Love it!

I read so many good reviews on this and I really, really wanted it based on all the reviews & the notes. The description also suggests that this is quite similar to the original Narciso for Her. I ran to the store yesterday and quickly tested it... But it was too similar to Elie Saab for me. That's not a negative, but I already have Elie Saab and for the price, there's no need for me to have something so similar if I already have the other. I was a little sad though.

EDIT: So, I tried this one again... I do still get the Elie Saab vibe, but only in the sense that it's strong like ES. This is a gorgeous, musky fragrance. I much prefer this over the EDP. It's strong, but subtle. Loving it in Spring though

NancyD76

I received a sample of this one and I particularly like this EDT more than the EDP.

It's a nice sophisticated typically Narciso scent, but I'm however still doubting if I really like it or not. There's so much appealing but also something that I don't like in it. I think this Narciso, both EDP and EDT, are not typically feminine scents, I smell something rather masculin also.. Don't know..
Would wear it when I would get a bottle, but don't think it's completely me..

Edee

While the eau de perfume is dreamy, creamy, deliciousness. This one is slightly sweeter and flirtatious. This is the one that draws them in and gives off a taste of nectar. The gardenia is missing in this one. The way the peony and other ingredients are blended so well really gets and keeps your attention.. Sexy and flirtatious comes to mind. Face it, we want sexy and flirtatious to get their attention. This is good for the first date. Alluring and somewhat mysterious. After you get their interest, reel them in with the eau de perfume. Talk about a smooth operator. This and the eau de perfume are it. Game over.

Edit. Slept in this and I finally understand the power of Musc. To tell you the truth, I always avoided musc unless it just hovered in the background. This is musc done right. It actually makes the fragrance. This will be noticed by those you want in your space. It will be noticed by those you allow to be close to you. It is personal, it is just fantastic. Now I know why everyone likes Narciso Rodriguez. It wasn't just hype. It is praise well deserved.

Finally, a peony based scent I like. Peony is one of my most difficult notes. Something in peony's sharp, oiliness does not agree with me, gives me headaches. The peony here is dominant but does not dominate. This is the most minimalist perfume ever: delicate peony and rose. Smooth, warm woody notes. And the silkiest musk, the kind they used in the 1920's. Soft and powdery, the most romantic and feminine perfume in a long time. Makes me think of a perfect evening in early summer.

ellina1984

I still smell a lot of gardenia, in spite of the fact that it's not listed as a note. Musky, creamy, luxurious gardenia. Really resembles the EDP, but the opening isn't screechy, as I found the opening of the EDP to be.

UPDATE: I have tested again, and now I do get the rose, but the gardenia is still there. However, I think the rose tones down the gardenia, which is a good thing for me (gardenia hater). This reminds me of an overly luxurious body cream - it smells smooth and creamy. It's now on my want list.

OKcololo

Handsome lactonic-woody fragrance, more transparent than the white Narciso. It feels like a streamlined chypre, where dry woodiness, smoky bitterness and powdery, milky sweetness are draped one on top of the other, with plenty of air in between. Great work from the talented Aurelien Guichard, who seems to be proving, along with Patricia de Nicolai and Cecile Ellena, that perfumery runs in the family.

lollsazz

The white flowers in this just smell bitter and unpleasant on me, especially at the drydown - then they smell like some kind of analgesic /:( I definitely recommend testing this out on your own skin. This also smells lily - it reminds me of Baiser Vole from Cartier, which is heavy on the lily. Well well, money saved then.

Ginzao

I love this even more than the white EDP. Don't get me wrong, the white one is gorgeous, but the powdery cloud of creaminess can be too much for daytime and during warmer months. Especially for me because I prefer woods, oud and masculine scents but I digress. The EDT is simply perfection because it's almost like the powder is taken away but the creamy milky heart of the EDP is still very much there. Oh, but the best part is the silage, which is almost metallic, resinous like and reminds me very much of Chanel 19 my mom wore when I was younger. The metallic and benzoin like projection around myself is such a contradiction to the creaminess that I end up smelling when I pull my wrist to my nose! But it is the best kind of contradiction. It's almost like the fragrance is teasing you. But really, I find it very sexy, very modern and almost a tomboyish version of the ultra feminine EDP. Perfect for summer and early fall.
UPD: Bummer, it lasts only 3/4 hrs whereas EDP lasted 8-10hrs. Who knows, could be the heat and humidity we are experiencing right now. I wonder if it's short-lived on others as well.

lalondem

Overload of MUSK!! That is all.

dioraddictfan

I admire Narciso Rodriguez and his scents. Every company comes out with EDP, EDT, and endless flankers. His are always classy and different from each other. This is somewhat similar to the EDP, but much more woody and unisex. I find the EDP to be powdery and has that gardenia note that stands out. Instead, the EDT has rose and a nice vetiver in the base.

ScarlettX

Another prestigious one by Narciso Rodriguez. I find it to be earthy, woody and very musky. Not sweet and creamy like the EDP version. It seems to be more serious and even more mature.
Strong and outstanding, too mature for me though.
I think it could be the modern classic.

AND-MAT

An airier, lighter take on the creamy EDP!

Narciso EDT is a very elegant, mature, and down to earth scent that can still take you to heaven! Really... Narciso Rodriguez is releasing very very well done scents.

Once sniffed I felt it's originality! Not another fruitchouli! Not another teeth decaying sweetbomb! Not another girly, childish synthetic mess that are piling on the shelves nowadays! Narciso knows how to blend the beautiful perfumes of yesterday with some new twists that make his perfumes modern and chic!

At first I wasn't too happy for the fact that gardenia is now replaced by rose, but boy what a rose! Wonderful, warm, not that harsh synthetic rose! However, the EDP version is not completely lost! You can feel it's vibe with that genius cedar/vetiver base that give it a deep and rich character!

For me, it's a win... And for an EDT it's very strong (It's not that much cheaper than the EDP btw price wise). So try it and enjoy it and I am going to keep an eye for Narciso Rodriguez and I pray he releases a new male fragrance for me to enjoy fully! (Narciso is too feminine!) 9/10

pauroj

like everything narciso this is glorious !
i don't even like rose but this is such a pretty take on rose that i am totally in love with this , is lush and delicious i love narciso and of course i was going to get this one too.

is "fresher" than the white bottle but i mean come on this is just pure luxe cashmere sweater honey , so don't expect fresh laundry at all.

i get a lot of love for tom ford and his scents and not enough for narciso and IMHO his collection of scents are so wearable , elegant , young and drop dead pretty and incredibly well edited EVERY SINGLE ONE IS GLORIOUS that i feel he needs more praise , but ok more for me.

nettoyant

Ahh heaven!! I've found the EDP too strong for summer use though I adore it, so, I missed having it in my rotation. I was toodling around The Bay yesterday testing everything new I could find. The only section that held me was Narciso Rodriguez. It was a toss up between For Her EDT, For Her l'eau and this. I chose this. :)

All the reviewers that talk about it's elegance and freshness are so spot on. It really is a lighter, more summer friendly version of the EDP, which is exactly what I wanted. I really sense green vetiver, musk and a touch of fresh rose. There's a perfect balance of notes so it doesn't become just cedar on the dry down like many scents. I do miss gardenia though and find myself craving the EDP.

aistionnelle

Dark, velvety and a bit damp rose, perfectly mixed with peony and cedar extract. Flowers, really fresh and vivid are surrounded with powerful musk, which is a bit woody through a cedar addition.Like all the line from Rodriguez it has an interesting `open your heart effect`-it attracts attention by a flowery, fresh and a bit mysterious but well known combo rose and peony, peony and rose difficult to be set apart. It`s a nighttime, quite intimate, and smart scent.Rich and creamy but not heavy. If perfumes could be connected to colours Narciso EDT is black and purple maybe with a green rim.
In my opinion it`s rather a cousin of EDP version than his sister. No white flowers which made EDT a bit suffocating.
Longlasting - I can smell it for 6 -7 hours with good emanation and intensive sillage. A bit similar to L`Agent by AP with the same depth and red wine collocations.
A bottle is also nice and presents the nature of perfumes with its colour and design.

SAKE

Nikkafragrance

Wow, this is so beautiful and elegant, but why I smell...tuberose? Anyway. it's enchanting. The sillage is more intensive than Narciso, definitely a nighttime perfume. It's very heavy in cedar, vetiver and rose. Narciso for day and this one for night - great duo.

Germany

Big love for me , I have the white cube and the oil and just bought the new black EDT , I have forgotten how great this fragrance is and pulled out my white bottles again as well. It went ,,,again up to my top shelf and will remain there , simply. Devine ,,, an airy powdery sweet Milky cloud of musk , bedsheets , sugared plums and fairy dust , creamy sweet , sexy and utterly feminine , my husbands favourite.
It's fresh and warm and powdery sweet with a woody undertone ,,,,

It is comforting , it's a magnet !

I am still figuring out the difference between the two ,,,, I have only had the black one for a few days and if I could only have one I would probably go wit the white. The white to my nose is sweeter and creamier and muskier , the black may be fresher and has almost a honey like note in it but it's so darn similar that they are both truly my favourites lately. I mix them up and wear them non stop , truly a master piece and unlike any other perfume !
As far as the notes go the only changes they made is to switch out the gardenia for peony
In general gardenia is more a favourite of mine , it's sweeter and more gourmand and decadent almost an animalic flower , a fleshy feel. Peonies on the other hand are not my thing at all , yet in this composition , paired with a handful of musk rose and ceader it's Devine indeed.
Update , wearing this daily and now , for the season being ,love this even more than the white as it is a little less powdery and less heavy as the white. So I would say the black is daytime and summer and the white is nighttime or winter. Both great but my new addiction is the black !

christianne1

Big massive love for me. Makes me want to hoard it. Musky, woody deliciousness with a delicate floral edge. Has a light feeling to it although a very substantial scent. This is right up my alley and already thinking about a second bottle. This smell makes me feel happy and sexy. Love the bottle also.

Babygia

For me not such powdery pleasure as the EDP. A little bit harsh and bitter, with a masculine touch.
The EDP provides powdery honey vibe the EDT lacks totally in change for masculine freshness.
I can 't imagine to wear this one , on my hubby - no problem.

Arlene-Beatrix

Sensual, pleasant, deep musky scent. At first I thought that it was not my thing, like most of Narciso Rodriguez scents, but I was wrong.
It is so subtle, so feminine, so comforting that I have an instant urge to close my eyes and indulge myself in this immense musky cloud.
I can recommend it to anyone who likes delicate musky scents.

Update: Tested also in heat, it is still very elegant. Clearly it is appropriate for almost all seasons. It imitates the scent of skin, but it is better. Very subtle & sexy at the same time.

Update2: When temperature drops, it smells absolutely lovely! Just wait a moment until the initial strong musky blast is over.

magda14012

I tested it today on one hand and Edp on the other. On my skin these are totally different. I got nutty notes and some fresh cut roses. I will definetely repeat the test, but it has not been a love at first sight, sniff:)

Antares811

Fresher and lighter than the EDP, a bit less musky, it's an amazing creamy floral.
Instead of gardenia there's peony (with rose) which is fresh yet sweet and slightly fruity: perfect for summer yet suitable for every season as well, due to its lovely creamy smell.
Beautiful, romantic, soft and feminine. Great scent!
I love it.

subtlemocking

I adore the original Narciso EDP, but in warmer weather it can become a little overbearing. The EDT is the answer to that problem: the same gorgeous creamy woody musk, but with a fresher rose heart than its big sister. Very versatile but every bit as original and unique as the original. ❤️

dormir6

Lighter than the white sister, and lacks that kind of artificial, strange aroma that some of us don't like.So try, if you have some problem with the white one, but you like the concept.

GoddessQueen

I will be purchasing and hopefully it will be sold here in America!!
