L’Extase by Nina Ricci is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. L’Extase was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian. Top notes are Pink Pepper, Peach and Pear; middle notes are Rose, Raspberry, White Flowers and Jasmine; base notes are Caramel, Siam Benzoin, Amber, Vanilla, Musk, Patchouli and Virginia Cedar.

Nina Ricci presents L'Extase, a new fragrance in 2015, inspired by a woman's erotic fantasies. This fragrance represents the new, third pillar of the house when it comes to perfumes, two other pillars being L’Air du Temps and Nina. L'Extase invites you to "liberate your fantasies."

This floral, musky and oriental composition is created by the famous perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. The composition is made of two kinds of accords; the first one consisting of white petals, rose and pink pepper, while the other is more sensual and warm with Siamese benzoin, Virginian cedar, musk and amber.

French model Laetitia Casta is the face of the campaign. The bottle design imitates a minaudière clutch from the archives of Nina Ricci, in mauve with a black satin ribbon around its neck. The box is decorated with colors of dusky pink, black and gold.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum.

The more I wear this, the more I like it. So stunning. Sweet and deep, but noy cloying. Wonderful projection and longevity. I'm not typically a fan of rose as a note, but this is so expertly blended, that it could make me a convert.

Bloomahyde

The opening is almost too sharp, but there is an effervescence there to somewhat save it. I also think a Bulgarian Rose might have meshed a bit better with the rest of the ingredients. It would have brought out the caramel and patch in a smoother, sweeter way. The dry down is pleasant but it didn't stand out until I layered it with Prada Candy. It's the only way I wear it now.

loves2read

Not for me. The initial spray is too unpleasant and headache inducing.

Chesu Bowa

Unfortunately this fragrance is a no from me. It is well blended and beautiful, but on my skin it smells like a maturer version of Lancôme Idole. Idole is sweet and fruity with a rose water Turkish delight vibe. While L’extase is a spicy rosy patchouli with very little to no sweetness. I don’t get any caramel or jam, it leans very floral on me and almost old lady like. Decluttered mine.

Note to self: Never spray and smell as soon as you get the package! I couldn’t smell a thing and I thought why are all these people saying this is amazing????

🤩 well about an 1/2 an hour later this beautiful fruity rose scent appeared. So well done and not in any way disappointing. As is right now I think this will last a few hours. Such a beauty! I have heard it is being discontinued and harder to find on the gray market sites. So if you can find this soon do so before it is all gone and the prices skyrocket!
8/10 this may cause people who do not like rose to be headache inducing but beautiful for those of us who love rose!

Maya lilac

I own a few of L’Extase line and in my opinion these are some exquisite fragrances. Underrated gems! The rose in this line is striking, deep, sweet and intoxicating.

But L’Extase is not simply an oriental rose scent. It’s so much more and complex. It has a heavy dose of fruits: raspberries, peaches and pears. It has white flowers and jasmine, pink pepper and caramel and a rich, ambery, vanilla, woody base. It’s a very fruity, slightly spicy rose, with a hint of patchouli, has a liberal amount of caramel and vanilla to give the rose a jammy vibe and the benzoin mixed with amber in the dry down gives it a warm, cozy feel.

It’s a lot thrown in but Francis Kurkdjian used his magic and created a very strong, smooth, well rounded, balanced, nighttime, seductive scent. I find this mostly suitable for date nights or going out occasions and for colder weather, thanks to its richness and depth. This is not a casual wear for me.

Personally, as far as performance goes, this is intense and projects strong for the first 3 hours after application.

The price I paid for my bottle was very reasonable, these scents were super affordable but I am afraid that this line is discontinued. I haven’t seen it anywhere sold recently. Hope it’s not the case…

I blind bought this with high hopes and so far I just can’t. There’s something sharp and tart that just doesn’t agree with my nose at all. I don’t hate the fragrance as much as the lotion that came with it in a set. 🤢 it is absolutely overwhelming. I gave the lotion to my daughter. I don’t like it on her either and I kind of wish I’d just gotten rid of it bc when she puts it on it overwhelms the whole house 😖. It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever smelled, but just something about it I really dislike. It is reminiscent of Oud Satin Mood, and Scherzo by Miller Harris but those two I love. I’m thinking that’s the jammy rose that’s the common note. I love the other two but this is just a no for me. Way too sweet… and that sharpness. Ugh.

Viiola

Just got a bottle today after searching for it for about three years and upon first spray, I was really nervous that I had made a mistake buying it. First spray smells like very synthetic, jammy rose which is unpleasant to me. However, it only stayed for about 2 minutes and once it dried down, omg, what an amazing smell. I can't stop smelling my arm. It smells so feminine, rich and sensual. I can see myself wearing this perfume on a snowy, wintery night out with my partner ❤️

DilyanaG

I was in love when I had this! The only con is the longevity.

brandiwine1980

I really would have liked the rose absolute version, but it’s rare and super expensive so I settled for this at a great price. Plus, I was excited because of the comparisons to Si. I have not tested Si since it debuted so can’t really compare them. I like it, but I think I was expecting more. All the notes sounded like a divine fume! It’s nice, but mostly I smell the pink pepper with a little raspberry and a little rose and patchouli. I am picky about patchouli, this one is nice not strong. The raspberry and rose aren’t too strong either or too synthetic like other perfumes, but it does have an artificial vibe. I am not sure if I will repurchase. Just isn’t wowing me enough. I agree, test before you buy. I don’t think this is worth paying top dollar for. Edit: It’s growing on me. I’ve decided it’s a rose dipped in raspberry and caramel. I think layering it with a more flowery scent may add some oomph as I feel like it is lacking in something. Update: This works well with BBW Dahlia lotion or BBW Satin Slippers, a rose lotion. It also works well with layering Love Don’t Be Shy or Mix Bar Glass Rose, but I imagine any rosey perfume will do.

Rosaroja

I love this perfume as an evening wear. It has a deep and rather grave balance fruity and floral. Very sophisticated, warm and mysterious. On me it is long lasting.

EvaNicoleFragrance

In the Mid, a strong animalic Lily note showed up and damn near ruined this for me. I didn’t hate it, but I knew I wouldn’t reach for this out of over 100 other options if that note stayed prominent.

So, I chalked it up to another Mercari resale and went about my day. But then the dry down unfolded and the Lily note disappeared leaving behind a sweet fruity carmelized rose. Soft, feminine and deep. Needless to say, she will not be going up for sale.

Edit: I need to enjoy the whole journey of the scent. She indeed has been rehomed.

silthrill

Love this. Posh, feminine, flirty, rich. This is a designer version of MFK's Oud Satin Mood - where OSM for me is a baby-wipe bomb, the baby powder element is balanced really nicely in this one with the other notes. It's sweet without being gourmand; the fruity notes keep the rose / jasmine / white florals youthful. A fabulous date-night option, especially in colder weather.

MTK82

A very unusual smell...it grows on you and then lingers on and becomes addictive. This was an anniversary present from hubby ...it was a gift set and I loved the box!! When I'd layer it with the body lotion it was intoxicating...I grew to really like it though the first time I sprayed it I didn't understand the notes. Not a blind buy.

selinacat

Jammy Rose in a good way, like a sweet red berry rose without being gourmand. Its more like a basket filled with fresh roses, summer berries, hint of vanilla and a soapy sour note that yes comes off synthetic but also classy.

For me, Ricci scents have a mature musky fruit blend. Works GREAT. This complements Ricci Ricci in the same wardrobe. Those with the right chemistry, this is your rose scent. It has that Ricci floral fruite

Sweetboy05

Sweet, sugary, burnt caramel.

toosimilar

Well, i've accidentally purchased a decant of it, because I mixed it up with Rose Extase
This one is heavy on sweetness, something similar to La Vie Est Belle, really close to it
Better fits for winter, not a safe blind buy, test this on your skin

LSAUG

I like L'Extase but I was hoping it would be more similar to the Absolu version. That is impossible to find, and I really love that and do not have a backup bottle. L'Extase starts of very juicy and fruity, nice but very reminiscent of a lot of other fruity rose perfumes. As the perfume goes along a bit you get some of that caramel, vanilla, benzoin but it is missing that seduction of the Absolu version. This is the nice twin sister, and the Absolu is the vixen, the temptress. I can see having both of these and wearing both as signatures. L'Extase for the day and Absolu for the evening. This is really pretty, and I do like it I just wish it was closer to the Absolu. Sadly, this whole line has been discontinued. I may buy another small bottle of this because pretty inexpensive rose perfumes are getting super hard to find. If you like juicy, fruity roses w/ pears, raspberries, peaches, just like super juicy w/ a warm sweet caramel dry down mingling w/ poached sugary fruits and roses this is a safe blind buy.

assoula17

The initial spray is off putting for me. It gives a weird musty, plastic vibe. Then the roses, pears and caramel takes over. To me this doesn’t smell like La Nuit Tresor except when I really put my nose to it and I catch the one and only similarity between the two which is the burnt caramel smell in the background (more present in LNT Caresse and the main reason why I returned LNTC) The off putting musty, plastic vibe that was blasted initially doesn’t fade out but remains in the background with the roses dominating front and center.
Although I’ve tried and tried to like it enough to keep it, unfortunately I’ve failed.

Update: after around 2-3 hours wear time, that weird off putting note finally fades out and it settles into a jammy, caramelized rose scent.

blkleather_redlace

This reminds me of an oud Armani Si, but it might be even sweeter and with greater radiance and brightness up top. It's beautiful but also a bit too much for me. I like to sniff the sprayer and the drydown is enjoyable but, though I love strong perfumes, wearing it on myself is just a little cloying over time. I think oud is challenging for me. I somehow made it through most of the last decade without smelling a ton of oud or wearing fragrances with much if any in them. It doesn't smell bad to me, but it's just usually...strong. When it's there it seems to dominate every other note on me. I'm not super sure this is worth paying a premium for now that it's discontinued. Si might do just as well for most people looking for a juicy rose, although I think Si has a whisper of aquatic freshness while this has some oily dirtiness.

Manjusaka

Ngọt lịm vào tận tim 😍 mùi hương trẻ trung, quyến rũ theo kiểu ngọt ngào,tình tứ chứ không hề xôi thịt. Cảm giác như một cô gái có thể khiến đàn ông cảm thấy bản năng cần phải bảo vệ,nâng niu
Rất thích mùi hương này, nó thật tinh tế,dễ thương

dreamypeony

its a really good fragrance! doesnt really suit my style but its my moms signature so i always think of her. its very deep and has some bitterness to it when sprayed but in an elegant cosmetic way if that makes any sense. lasts a pretty good while and projects just right too. the dry down is very caramel and benjoim sweet. it smells classy and refined overall, also has a dark and sensual aura to it

crissy25

This wasn't for me. To my nose, it smelled dated. I didn't get a decadent rose. Definitely not a substitute for Oud Satin Mood. I'm not sure why or which note put me off. This was hyped so I blind bought it. I ended up reselling it.

rainydays

This is very sweet, a bit too sweet for my taste. However it is very good, nevertheless. Deep, jammy, and decadent. Even if you don't particularly love florals, this is caramel gourmand with a touch of rose, pepper, and resin.

LadyMuck

Beautiful powerhouse fruity oriental floral fragrance that lasts and lasts.

The peach, rose and jasmine blend so well and those are the most prominent initial notes to my nose.

When the base notes come into play with caramel, vanilla, amber and musk to name a few it amplifies and is delicious, deep and sexy and sustains the floral notes. Such a well-blended fragrance.

It bears a similarity to Lancome La Nuit Tresor in my opinion.
Worth having and maybe it will become a signature scent for those that love intoxicating stunning deep scents. 9/10

olitunia

I like this one a lot, a blind buy based on people saying it’s similar to the Lancôme la nuit tresor. Well, it is not. This is much softer, a bit powdery, a bit musky. It reminds me of rose water but less jam-like. This is giving me a younger woman, elegant, put together, interesting. I really like it, the bottle is really pretty too!

Gyps

Beautiful fragrance. Smokey, musky rose. Love it 😍

Jennswen

I really like this one. It is softer than I expected, and I found myself spraying a lot on me trying to make it stronger. My boyfriend likes this one because it doesn't project and choke him like other perfumes. It is a comfortable bedroom scent. Last night I wore it to bed and had an amazing sexual dream about Benedict Cumberbatch. So this perfume lives up to its name. I'll be keeping this one! 😉

Stellabear

The initial spray of this is strange and not so great - but eventually it becomes a nice amber musk rose. I am on the fence - I will keep testing it but not sure if it is a keeper.

blackcoffees

My mom blindbought this because she thought it would be sweet but airy. It smells terrible on her so she gave it to me.
I dont think this can be an everyday scent for me, even though I love the way it interracts with my skin. It starts off very strong, with a wave of white flowers, pepper and toasted sugar but then it mellows out to a deep powdery sweet scent with something carnal that I came across in Ricci Ricci. It also has a balsamic note in there that felt too strong and unpleasant on my moms skin but its barely there on me.
In my opinion this is a scent that comes alive in cold weather because its deep and toasty and that doesnt translate very well in the heat. It lasts and projects moderately well.
Don't blind buy this, it might be too heavy on you.

RosePetalRouge

Hmm who lied and said this smells like La Nuit Tresor. This smells more like Oud Satin Mood with a hint of raspberry that is also present in La Nuit Tresor. Otherwise, they are completely different scents. The rose is dominant in L'Extase, it smells almost old school (not grandma-ish as it's still a modern take on it). It is dark, dense and jammy (think satin mood). I bought this as the LNT line is my favourite line of perfumes, this is nice too but I would say if you have watched comparison videos to this and are young, go for LNT as it's less serious but flirty, sexy and fun.

VanillaaManiaa

ScentedSuzanne below is spot on. When I first got this a few months ago, along with the rest of the collection, this was my least favourite. It was so plasticky and sweet it made me nauseous, and trust me I LOVE a super sweet scent but this was just too disjointed and overpowering. Fast forward to now, and this is my second favourite after Rose Absolue. The caramel, vanilla, and benzoin mix is reminiscent of Si intense, it’s sweet, dense & powdery, but also has a lush fruitiness woven in airily as only MFK can do. So glad I left this to sit for a while, longevity is great - I get 7-8 hours from over-spraying, projection is not huge but I can smell my scent bubble all day which is good enough for me! I love to mix this with NR Musc Noir Rose (to give the NR some oomph and much needed longevity) and oud satin mood for some sweetness, if you love MFK creations this is a must - just give it some time to reveal itself.

GUADELUPA

Wonderful scent of caramelized roses. The rose here is ripe, juicy, but at the same time very tender, with morning dew at leaves. If you do not like a rose in perfums, do not hesitate. Here, the rose is thoroughly covered with caramel and raspberries to perfectly complement the light sweetness. Longevity and sillage is twenty four hours on clothes. I wear it comfortably all year round. It suits even for summer, if it is reasonably applied. It's perfect for evenings, dating, parties. And the bottle is gorgeous as well.

Szilvita

This is a tricky one. Have been wearing this today. The most dominant and detectable note for me was caramel. I've been doubting whether I actually like it or if the scent is too bold and sweet. But some sudden delicious freshness (some of the fruits?) peaked through several times during the day. It comes and goes and keeps me interested again when it does. At home I took a bath and put on coach wild rose to try that one out, but it actually made me crave this one back. I start realizing that it might be the amber that's bothering me. Since wild rose has even more of it, L'extase suddenly felt much lighter and yummy afterwards. I think this could grow on me....

Edith: second wear on the neck behind the ears worked great. I quite enjoyed getting whifts of it and noticed several of the notes this time.

pweedyadel

This smells really nice. I like it. It reminds me of a lot of rose musky scents although the raspberry leaf is prominent. It’s a light, fresh, fruity, floral scent which everyone will like. If Armani Si and NR Musc Noir Rose gave birth to a child, this will be their baby.

AnaMariaCos

I first smelled this perfume in 2018 and I really liked the dry down. Fast forward in 2022 I was lucky enough to find the entire collection of Nina Ricci L'extaze with the flankers. I bought all of them with the exception of l'extaze rose absolue( out of stock) . The original l'extaze is very beautiful. From all the notes mentioned in the description the first thing I smell is a tart raspberry embraced by the jasmine with a hint of spicy-ness. After an hour very slowly it start to get a little bit sweet but not in a sugary, cotton-candy way. The rose in here is faint like a fresh, garden rose. The patchouli and cedar wood combination gives almost like a minty touch, a freshness in the background and balance out the white florals so they dont choke you . Its a very sexy, grown-up , confident scent. It last on my skin for a good 5-6 hours and on clothes 7-8 hours. Beautiful scent. Too bad its discontinued.

ScentedSuzanne

Do not give up on this perfume. I blind bought it a few months ago , and when I tried it I got all the plasticky, synthetic vibes other reviewers have complained about below. I love the MFK dna, and was soooo disappointed not to like this offering. But now, a couple of months later, I thought, Why not give it another go - and wow! I am so glad I did! This fragrance is gorgeous! Francis Kurkdjian worked his magic with L'Exstase. At first spray it's bright and a little sharp from the pink pepper, but very quickly the luscious creamy fruitiness comes through and then on the dry down, I get a perfectly blended, spicy, not too strong patchouli/cedar vibe. But - and here's the magic part, the creamy fruit comes back to haunt me as the fragrance wafts around. It's not gone, it's just shy, hiding behind the patch. Nothing is too sharp or too synthetic. It's not overpowering, but mysterious, sexy, and womanly and would work equally well for the office, going out for brunch, or on a date.

If you're curious, get a decant, and give it some time. It's another iteration of the way Kurkdjian romances us with raspberry, rose, and amber, and how he combines them with other notes. If you collect his fragrances like I do, you'll want this in your stash.

soumayaela

Don't waste your money
Very very weak for same price you can get better perfumes
It lasts litterally 2 hours max on me with moderate sillage! Get a victoria's secret body spray instead!

I'm a perfume collector and l'extase is one of my bottom list perfumes i feel like i wasted my money buying it 😩

dancingpinkviolins

Huuge compliment getter on me. Don't know if it's the climate where I'm at (hot and humid year round) but it's mainly a warm caramel rose on me! So pretty.. Lasts ages and it's unique to what is more commonly worn in my country (fruity florals) so it really stands out! Which makes it a bit much for the office unless you are careful with sprays. Some people here say it smells old but I think it's just a more grown up fragrance. Probably wouldn't wear it with jeans for one!

Daycaremoney

I'm really enjoying this smells like a muted attrape reves dupe. Great value I'm loving the rose pear and peach and I like this way more than rose extase

Nocciola23

This is a great perfume. I don't get much pepper or peach, to my nose it is all smoky rose. There is raspberry at the beginning which I don't like...it smells a bit like starburst candy, but when it fades it leaves this gorgeous dark rose amber that lasts for hours. To me this is a real niche scent in a designer costume.

victoriabarretta

I have and love Extase Absolut. Complete power house and smells much more expensive than it is.

I bought this hoping it would an easier ‘daily wear’ fragrance but this ain’t it.

It smells much more dated than Absolut, generic, and the dry down is powdery berries - which is headache enducing for me.

Phoenix♡2022

Quite lovely and I will be wearing it in the winter nights. It's a "like", not a "love". I prefer this one for at home use and not in public. Definitely a feminine and sexy perfume.

In between the opening and the drying down it smells a little bit "plactic" unfortunately, otherwise it would be perfect for intimate occasions or late night dinners with black dress and elegant hairstyles. After a while the "plastic" feel of it either fades or my nose gets used to it but that initial detection puts me off.

I was sure that I would find "My Burberry Black" on the suggestions that smell similar to this but it's not mentioned and I'm surprised 😯
In my opinion they smell identical. The difference is that one can easily feel how of a much higher quality and natural "My Burberry Black" smells. Natural not in a sense of soft and mild but in the quality of the materials.

Sillage - strong
Longevity - moderate to long

Katelynl88

This perfume smells very similar to givenchy very irresistible, I think that’s the pepper and rose? It almost smells powdery but not , to me I get a floral / animatic smell, slightly like a barnyard smell . I actually like this one . First spray , I wasn’t a huge fan but the dry down is nice . It’s sweet , musky , good office scent .

Lazuuli

I blind bought this and wasn't disappointed. One thing that is for certain is the STRONG pepper notes in the opening, give it about 10-15 minutes to dry a little to get past the pepper, after that it has a nice sweet smell. I get strong peach and caramel.

SouthSim

What a mess! Smells cheap and has a sharp, sneeze inducing note. Everytime I've worn this, I've had to wash off. Smells like body spray.

Ceekel

L'Extase is one of my favorite Sents that I own it is absolutely captivating. All notes are so well blended. I get a wiff of each note through out the day. I can smell the peach, raspberry, vanilla, Carmel.and Amber. This fragrance is so comforting. I litterly smell myself all day. I would recommend if you love these notes. It's sweet but not to sweet. Date night worthy very sexy.

Kaylovely

Is it close to NY 5th Avenue by Fragrance du Bois?

ScentedByNkwanzi

This is one of my absolute favorites. In the beginning I hated it cos I felt it was too granma ish but I’ve given her a couple of wears and I’m glad. Also, as a collector who had struggled finding a signature scent, this might just be it.

Siv7Stars

This has been on the radar for a while & I finally got it today.. It's nice enough but I keep thinking 'poor man's Nuit Tresor' even though it's in the same price bracket. There is something ever so slightly plasticky in here. It may be the pear. Other than that it's a nice enough rosey amber wood. Not feeling the caramel much either. I do love the bottle though & it has a great disappearing inner tubes, like magic.

hola gigi

A spicy, musky, floral. MFK added his flare to it with the benzoin, amber, & vanilla drydown but that isn't enough to redeem the harsh pink pepper opening. I don't think it smells cheap, but definitely too mature for me.

Juspaigeme

Another beautiful fragrance by Maison Francis Kurkdijan. Sweet-jammy rose with raspberry, caramel, amber and vanilla. It’s grown and sophisticated but also sexy.

Rue29

Okay so I blind bought this and while I was waiting I was reading the reviews on here and oh my goodness I got worried.
When this perfume arrived I smelt it and it just smelt so elderly- it felt so opposite to anything I would ever go for. I sprayed a little on my hand and omg the first 5-10 mins it was that strong pepper note and not in a good way. I was already regretting spending my money on this. However the dry down is so soft, sweet and powdery and I can definitely endure the first minutes of the strong pepper to get to the dry down. Just yesterday I had a few compliments on this fragrance. It smells so soft and feminine like a nice fabric softener in a good way.

Fragrancewonder

Warm sweet rose fragrance but leans mature. Not sure why this reminds others of Oud Satin Mood, maybe the sweetness?

I would layer this fragrance with a spicy or citrus fragrance to give it a bit more character.
However, has since left my collection.

SouthSim

I find it very hard to believe that this was created by Francis Kurkdjian. I have never smelled anything more synthetic and nauseating. Very sharp smell. I've tried a couple of times to give this a chance but I always end up having to shower and change clothes. It is just not worth it.

Dancer_kr

I get a strong raspberry/pink pepper at the opening. It’s very strong and leans mature on my skin. Also complicated by a strong caramel note. Overall, very syrupy and not to my liking! Longevity and sillage is very good though! If you are deciding what to get in this line, I would go for l’extase absolue, rose extase (bright flirty raspberry/rose musk) or chant d’extase (aquatic gourmand). They are my favorites! Caresse is also quite nice.

Yasmine.88

Never going to buy a perfume again based on reviews. Honestly average perfume , synthetic smell, Can’t smell anything sweet or fruity. Very bad

bel.gravia

A perfection! This perfume is a perfect present from husband to a wife on their anniversary. It is warm, inviting, romantic, sweet yet mature, rosy with caramel, woody yet fresh. Full of contrasts and harmony. A real stunner, L'Extase is so versatile... so lovable.

Zipporah mama

I agree with SusanTheTeach. This perfume made me want to stop believing in reviews cause I blind bought it(even though less than three days after I blind bought a perfume again lol) I was full of regret when I smelt this one. It does nothing for me. I get no sweetness at all, no amber, no vanilla. It’s not anything fantastic. It does smell really synthetic. I really hate the opening. It’s overpowering and boring, but it gets a little better after 15mins. I would be layering this for sure, I don’t think it’s something I can wear on it’s own and I won’t be reaching for it frequently that’s for sure. It just doesn’t live up to the hype.

SusanTheTeach

UPDATE 2/19/22: I have had this now for a couple of months. I decided I would wear it again because I was only staying home to do housework and wanted to spray something to wear. To my surprise, even though I over-sprayed immensely, it smelled gorgeous. I think it macerated over these last 2 months and it smells so beautiful now. It is a rich, deep, dark rose with pink pepper and caramel but so much more blended and smooth now. Now, I can't wait to wear this one tomorrow as well. I am so glad I gave this one another try!

I am disappointed. I thought this was the most "safe" blind buy based off of reviews on YouTube, but it is a little odd to me. Honestly, all I smell is the smell of something synthetic, like the candy Pop Rocks. It's interesting, don't get me wrong, but I'm "put off by it" in a way. It does not smell natural, I have a hard time pinpointing what scent I'm smelling, but not in a good way. It's in a distracting way. I smell lots of pink pepper or a Pop Rocks candy smell. I think I will only use this fragrance to layer with others. I'm not going to trash it, but definitely won't be wearing this solo unless I feel like I am begging to see if others have the same reaction as I do. I wish I would have bought the L'Extase Rose Absolue, which was constantly represented as the bold choice, the "non-safe" blind buy. But I'm getting the feeling I should have got that one instead. My instincts were telling I would probably like that one more, but I decided it might be too risky. Oh well, I will play around with this one and combine it with other scents to have some fun.

1/28/22: Updating from a like to a love. I've used up almost all my sample and everytime I wear it, I love it, I want to sniff & sniff it! I ended up buying Rose Extase (pink bottle) and these two are really close tbh, I just feel like this one is more caramelly and resinous whereas the Extase is more puffy and bright, if that makes sense. This line is so good, I'll have to try the Rose Absolu (black bottle) when my no-buy is over. 😅

I got a sample of this from Scentbox. It’s really nice. However…it is a touch matronly for my taste. I can’t quite identify what note makes it feel that way, but I think it’s just a bit too mature for me. Jammy rose, dries powdery. The opening is a bit harsh but it warms up on the skin. I currently have this layered with Cozy Fireside S’mores by Bodycology. The sandalwood in that along with the sweet marshmallow and powdery cocoa makes a nice companion to add some sweetness and softness. I don’t think I would buy a bottle of this, but I am curious about the other companions in this range. Since it’s a Kurkdijan creation definitely worth a sniff—especially if you like rose fragrances!

Love it! Smells so good on me!

MaryO1002

I just bought this perfume and immediately thought mmmm, this smells good, but familiar. I also immediately knew, it smells way better than whatever I'm reminded of. I can't bring to my mind the other perfume. It smells very modern for a Nina Ricci perfume, it's sexy, deep, and so well blended. It smells expensive. I'm in love with it. I'm definitely going to order more of this L'Extase line. It's sweet, but deep. I smell so many notes, but can't pick out any specific because it's so well blended. After about 15 minutes it became sweeter. I smell carmel and vanilla, very distantly a beautiful floral mix. I can faintly catch notes of rose. The excellent blending keeps it from being too sweet or too floral. I'm putting it in the Fall/Winter category and evening wear. I think this is for late 20's and over. It's grown woman sexy. I'm so glad I found this inexpensive gem. If you want a sweet gourmand that rivals much more expensive perfumes, this is it.

LeyMarie!

So after reading the mixed reviews on L'Extase, I thought it was best to buy the sample before buying the actual 2.7 oz. I received the sample yesterday and I can definitely understand the "old lady" scent that was described in other reviews. It kind of reminds me of my great-aunt, but it's not horrible. It has a mature smell, but it's nice and sweet. I also love the amberish/spice scent. I feel like the perfume is for someone in their 30's and even though I'm in my late 20's I'd still would wear this. This is definitly a Fall/Winter perfume, and it smell like a scent you'd wear for special occasions at night.
All in all I give this perfume a 7.5/10
And I can't wait to try the others from this line.

cjoudas

For some reason i'm really resistant to the verdict that this is a fragrance for the mature woman- idk, it's just so sweet, like those candy-scented refreshee sprays by body fantasy. generally i find that level of sweetness immature, but after spending a little time with it, I have to (reluctantly) agree- there is something decidedly oldladyish about L'ecstase.
my overall impression is bar soap and cotton candy. clean, a tiny bit spicy and an overload of sweetness
blind bought a 5ml and it's fine- with all the samples I have yet to eat my way through, it's unlikely that i'll spend much time with L'ecstase.

xxjennieee

I truly wanted to love this perfume soooo much but it just reminded me of my mother.
My mothers a great woman btw, but this fragrance is just so mature. I think it's the benzoin and musk.
I do really love the peach, rose, vanilla and pink peppercorn though... It reminds me of an aged La Nuit Tresor mixed with Valentino Valentina.

Overall, as much as I enjoyed the sweet, rosey juiciness of this fragrance, it was too much of an older scent for me and just as I predicted, my mom adored it and I ended up giving it to her!!

However if you are a younger woman, maybe younger than 25, go for Valentino's Valentina or La Nuit Tresor. They are more modern and youthful! They smell like a sexy and expensive Rose Jam by Lush.

Wiktoriaaaz

Got a 80ML unused box from depop for £25… I wanted to blind buy this long a go but the thought of this being grandma like kept me back. So yes I bit the bullet.. and yes this does smell very mature… the combination of the rose with peach and white flowers is why I think this smells aged, along with the benzoin.

Having said that, it is nice, I’ll see if I can make this work. On warm skin this does get better, more of the caramel and raspberry and less of the grandma notes, but I’m usually a “have to love it first sniff to keep it”, my collection is kept small but within ones I really wear, and I don’t know if Nina is gonna stay.

To sum up, she’s sweet, slightly juicy/tart from the fruit, prominent on the rose and raspberry. Oh, and nothing like LNT! Longevity on skin is 3 hours till it’s very faint, clothes 5/6 hours

KRye7

I bought this blind based on the good reviews. I’m just building my perfume collection and I am trying to expand my scent palate. With that said….this smells VERY mature to me. This is not what I was expecting. To me this is a harsh, spicy scent. I don’t get any caramel or jammy fruits. I’ve tried spraying it on my skin and waiting for the dry down everyone talks about and yes it does get a little better but I can’t get on board. I will keep trying though ;)

meliecat

This is probably my most "girly" perfume.. I just bought a used 30ml bottle, and I'll either swap it again or keep it and use it sparingly.. Too sweet for my liking, although I must say I find its notes really well-balanced for a sweet perfume.. There's even something creamy there - still, the rose and pear notes are the strongest on me, vanilla and peach also there, caramel isn't that strong thank heavens.. Opening is very harsh, like all the sweet perfumes I dislike - but in some 20 mins it gets toned down and it's almost enjoyable.. It's defo a date night, or even first date perfume - sweet and playful, yet mysterious and a bit serious at the same time. The bottle is gorgeous.

adelaidesandrina

my blind buys have been a huge fails lately.. so i was pretty doubtful on buying this one. but i couldn’t resist so i pulled the trigger. and i’m so glad i did!! this one is insanely yummy. the rose in this smells pretty similar to my fave “deep euphoria”. but it’s 10x better than that!

luckily the pink pepper isn’t too overpowering here. the caramel note is not as heavy as i thought but u can definitely smell it in there. the siam is more prominent on paper, idk why but i get reminded of velvet orchid lumiere bcs of that LOL. this one gets compared to lancome’s la nuit tresor but haven’t smelled that one so idk about that.

longevity okay, sillage not bad! i sprayed this in my mom’s office and she said she couldn’t smell her aromatheraphy diffuser anymore because of me 🙃 overall a sensual scent! not too dark, so it’s okay for daytimes maybe? but definitely not suitable under the scorching sun lmao

Aikipy

A perfect combination between Oud Satin Mood from MFK and La Nuit Tresor from Lancome. Two of my favorites, forever in my top 5! Enough said! ❤️❤️❤️

BF30

This fragrance is absolutely stunning! It is warm, sexy and sweet. Just after spraying it, I get a fruity liqueur smell with some pepper. In a few minutes, a voluptuous smell of rose appears and blends with the caramel and the ambar, making the fragrance so warm and sexy. I absolutely love it.
It kind of reminds me of Giorgio Armani Sí and Lancôme La Nuit Tresor. But L’extase is more dense and sexy in my point of view, resembling a rose-peach-caramel jam.

yana.levus

Yay, another successful blind buy!
Or not so yay really because it gives me this false confidence to place too many orders and spend money like water :D

To begin with I have to say I had never been impressed by Nina Ricci perfumes before. For some reason there had been no magical click. Yet I decided to risk it and placed an order for L’Extase after reading so many great reviews on it.

Hence why I have built some expectations about how this would smell like... And with the first spray I was utterly confused. No jammy rose, no sweetness, no smokiness. I even started thinking I made a mistake of ordering a different version of L’Extase than I intended to.

Pink pepper, benzoin, amber and woody accords came out bringing a deep spicy and slightly fresh feel which radiates this maturity, almost expensive formality. Not that it’s a bad thing, not at all. Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised. So erotic fantasies are the inspiration behind this? Well, quite interesting.

Give L’Extase chance to do its magic. It goes through several ‘phases’, if I may say so. That’s, for sure, extremely intriguing. I think, this is the first perfume in my collection that changes so drastic as the time goes by.

As spiciness from pink pepper starts fading away, a rose with caramel and vanilla shyly make their way to the main notes. Then these notes begin dominating while the base remains a tiny bit spicy. Such combination creates extremely sensual and intimate aura. It is super sexy, actually blows one’s mind. Incredible!

La Nuit Tresor is for those occasions whenever there is a need to convince everyone you are sexy by shout from the highest mountain about that. L’Extase, on other hand, is not for convincing others - you are sexy, you know that and you need zero attention to validate that.

Overall you get a great deal of a perfume for that price.

middle25

A blind buy a while ago based on reviews and notes. Given what I assumed would be a cold-weather only perfume, I am surprised that this works in the warmer temps of late spring and early summer. I think the patchouli doesn't hang as heavy on my skin and the rose is a little lighter than when I wear it in winter and fall. I get a raspberry-rose-caramel that isn't too much for the weather - not as syrupy or thick but it still has a bit of sweetness. What a revelation it is that L'Extase can be so versatile.

Alisaaa131

I was always in love with Nina by Nina Ricci so I never bothered checking out her other fragrances.
Years have gone by, Nina no longer works with my skin chemistry so I thought to try this one out even though it seems too sweet for my taste.
I'm incredibly surprised at how much I love this!
I get a strong blast of warm peaches in the beginning but it slowly turns into a floral with the rose and a peek of raspberries in the background.
It turns into a caramel floral that usually would be too gourmand for me but this has enough rose to keep it from getting too juvenile or foody.
The sillage is enormous, I get wafts throughout the day, it lasts forever on my skin, I can't believe I was missing out on this one for so long!
It's nothing incredibly unique but it does get me compliments from guys whenever I wear it.
Easy grab and the quality is amazing! :)

Kikichaaan

I love the opening of this fragrance. It is sweet but not overly sweet, fruity and kind of syrup-y. A good choice for formal night time occasions. On my skin, the syrup-y rose and musk are the main stars.

This one projects quite well and the longevity is very good. It lasts for about 5 to 6 hours on my skin. But sadly, as I am not a fan of a powdery scent, the dry down is kind of a turn off for me. If you like something sweet, syrup-y, and slightly powdery scent, try this one.

GabrielleeeeeW

I love this! The Rose Extase Aboslu is one of my favorite scents of all time so I snagged a bottle of this cheap and am very impressed. I can see a strong similarity with the Rose Absolu but this one is less dark and a bit softer, more sweet and less spice. It's not really gourmand-like to me as I don't get much of the caramel but it just translates to a sweet, syrupy rose. Performs well, good projection.

Enigmatic Scent

This perfume is very very sweet, but the sweetness is deep and musky.
For me it starts with a dark red rose and then quickly turns to a pure warm caramel.
It almost feels like you are about to enjoy that delicious caramel dessert! Intoxicating!
I really enjoy this perfume and the bottle is so pretty and stylish.

kathmarie

This is ok def have to be easy on the sprayer. Also lasts a number of hours is sweet not overly so. Ive come like this one a lot theres depth to it.

Queen of torts

Sweet jammy syrupy rose. I wear this to work when I want to kick things up a notch.

mad.as.ladybugs

I found it too overpowering - I was instantly reminded of the sort of perfumes elderly ladies wear when they douse themselves heavily. I might have to give it another go (it was a present and I disliked it so much I gave it to my mum), but that time around it definitely wasn't my scent.

UnearthlyApothecary

I received a free bottle of this with a perfume purchase a few months ago and I never got around to trying it until today. I thought: roses and caramel... sounds like Valentines Day to me! And I’m happy with my scent choice. I’ve definitely smelled this before, it tickles my scent memory bank but I’m not sure if it was this exact scent or something similar. I don’t get a ton of pink pepper in the opening, I’m mostly hit with juicy, slightly sour raspberry followed by Rose, white flowers, and the caramel combined with vanilla/amber/benzoin adding that sticky sweet candy vibe. All of this yummy goodness sits on top of a musky patchouli base. Very romantic fruity/gourmand Rose with excellent silage, will update later on longevity :)

Dontcallmeshirley

I am trying out a sample of this today. The most prominent note to me is white flowers. After a bit I start to smell the caramel. I don’t get much of the rose or fruit. Overall it is pleasant.
Update: The rose and raspberry came through later and mixed with the caramel while the white flowers faded mostly. I think it’s nice.

JustSimpleThings

Testing in warm weather: (update)

Whereas in cold weather the rose scent mingled with spices and a sophisticated 'perfume-y base' (as I said in my earlier review), I found that in warm weather the caramel in the base comes forward. Rose is pushed into the background and the fragrance takes on a sweet, gourmand almost praline-like scent. Very mellow, easy to like.

I think I actually prefer this scent in cold weather because I smell the rose more then; but it is nice either way.

Delia32

I blind bought this as I was looking for something similar to Tresor Midnight Rose, but a tad bit more affordable. It was ok and nothing more to me. It is a nice, delicate, gentle perfume, with an interesting rose-caramel-raspberry combo, but on me the dry down smelled pretty Avon-like, and that is something I usually avoid about perfumes. The longevity is ok and the price value pretty good as well. Overall, I'm def not buying it again.

moccacino

Too musky and too strong. Just a lovely scent for evenings but it does not last. Within an hour of spraying onto skin the perfume has gone. I bought from Parfimo.bg with a very big discount and I think that it is not original perfume reading the positive reviews.

rosey_nosey

I blind bought this because of some great reviews. When I first sprayed this I was sad. The opening is terrible. The pink pepper and raspberry stand out and it is not good on my skin. I let it dry down for 10 mins and it was still not giving me what I thought it would. I smelled it about 30 mins later and wow! I get the hype. The rose caramel combo is divine. It's sweet with a little spice to round it out. This is nice! It projects just enough with about six sprays. It lasted about 6 hours on my skin and all day on my clothes. Definitely a cold weather scent.

liat

Here's some things to know about me:
1) I do not like rose fragrances in particular
2) I haven't smelt Oud Satin Mood (and I find the name somewhat ridiculous)
3) I got this one dirt cheap
4) I also own the baby pink flanker to this one and it's too rose heavy for my liking
5) I'm not a huge fan of niche dupes. I rather aim for the original

That being said, to me this fragrance is super beautiful. I do like the sharp, sweet, fruity, opening. I also like the way it develops on my skin into some old fashioned rose floral which feels well blended.
Did I mention it was dirt cheap? For the price it's so much better than I could ever expect.

thazinha30

This opens up and I immediately get pencil shavings and rose scented soap bars from, the powdery kind that never foam when you use it to wash your hands (which you shouldn’t coz those are the fancy ones, just to look good in the guest bathroom... as if!) I saw multiple YouTubers recommending it so yeah sure, just because some random people on the internet said this was amazing I went and blind bought it because duh, it’s GOTTA be amazing 😒
All jokes aside I do not like this. Starts off obnoxious, with a strange pencil shaving smell which slowly turns into... pee. I swear I smell pee 15 minutes in. However once the dry down notes started showing up I started going back and sniffing where I had sprayed it earlier, and I enjoyed it. I still don’t like this fragrance, I sold my bottle coz I couldn’t return it, but as a gourmand lover I was able to appreciate the caramel, vanilla and the sweetness from the drydown. Someone mentioned here this smells like old lady... I would say it’s the “powder rooms’s” rose scented soap bar that’s been sitting on the sink for the past 25 years... in the old lady’s house. No offense to older people, I’m in my 40’s and this is way too mature even for me. It’ll be a pass for me. But again, smell is subjective, what I perceive as a pee smell might smell like peaches and raspberries and pear to someone else.

TheScentedNotebook

I do really like the middle and dry down on this. However, the opening is very sweet and a bit "hollow" to my nose....kind of like drinking sugar water. Sugar water seems innocent enough in theory but is actually vile lol

KittyDeBeauvoir

"L'Extase" is the sweet, synthetic, powdery, caramel-dipped rose scent I never knew I wanted!

This is sexy, and does inspire a bit of ecstasy and olfactory rapture!
I was initally VERY nervous about getting this scent due to some reviews stating this smells very similar to Lush's "Rose Jam". Thankfully, not the case here. "Rose Jam", to me, is intolerable. A head-piercing rose water with no refinement whatsoever. Its blessing and curse is its projection. Ick.

I digress. Sorry, "L'Extase" (but no apologies to you, "Rose Jam" - You burn in Hell).

"L'Extase" is a grown adult's sexy scent. The inital blast is gorgeous. I smell pear more in the air or from the atomiser itself. On skin, I get more of that warm, rich peach, and the spiciness of the pink pepper. The pink pepper is not shy, but it quickly transform to that ever-dominant rose, raspberry, and caramel which - sweet Mother of Pearl - I adore!
The downside here is the synthetic quality. Actually, it's good and bad. It kind of works here. It feels *right*. This perfume is a little over-the-top, and the synthetic aspect supports that. It definitely has a almost-plastic lolly scent to it. It's bad if you are a creature that simply just wants to appreciate beautiful, naturalistic scents. Both views would be fair.

That bottle is next level. The heavy glass is classy and feels expensive. The metal nameplate is elegant and refined. The ombre colour palette is BEAUTIFUL. With their variety and quality of scents, design, and relatively-inexpensive products; Nina Ricci is SO underrated as a fragrance house.

Projection? Decent and acceptable. Despite first impressions, it doesn't blast anyone out of a room (That's not a challenge, guys!).
Sillage? Sexy and enchanting.

This is a date night perfume. This is a seductive perfume. This is a Wear-It-Over-My-Lacy-Black-Lingerie perfume!

In raptures yet?
No?
Buy this.
You're welcome.

Kitty rating: 8.5/10.

natasya407

To be honest, I really don't like the opening as the pink pepper is way too strong at first. But gurlll as it dries down the creaminess of the vanilla and caramel started kicking in and it is superrrrr good!! A creaminess with a lil bit a hint of rose and the raspberry with musk oh God I'm in love! Sensual, seductive, very good affordable date night scent also for a special occasion cause it smells rich. I love it.

Eezepeeze

I like it. I think. Sometimes when I wear this I love it and other times the rose is too strong for me. I find it to be velvety and sweet, and highly floral with the rose. It lasts a long time on my skin. When I'm in the mood for it I find it a comforting scent, in a way. I like it for every day. There are other rose scents I prefer for evening.

When my nose is picking up too much rose, I feel this is somewhat old fashioned. Not in an aldehyde, powdery way, but it really reminds me of rose shaped soaps in my grandmothers bathroom that we were never allowed to use. So, still comforting because of the scent memory, but not something I would choose for a night out.

lubna.oweisat

When I first sprayed this perfume on my sweater I feel like ..meh.. it is not a special thing. Next day when I wore it .. I was amazed how wonderful the peach note and the berry note had mixed and apeared in a lovely way along with a little creamy hint of vanilla.. I spend all the day sniffing this fruity scent . It is an amazing perfume.

nadia.c

It's really nice and sexy, not as gourmand as, let's say, Intense Café by Montale, but just about enough so that it draws you in. The prominence of the rose gives a very refined allure to the perfume but it lacks, in my opinion, depth and intensity. It desperately needs some more woods.

rociito.moon

This has become a 4 parts review (please don't follow my steps; try it a couple times before review it :S):

Part I:
I am a little concerned about the integrity of the bottle I bought (batch of 2016), because I am smelling something completely different. The opening is pure pepper and rose ... so spicy it almost feels like incense. The cedar is also really noticeable. My first impression was that it smells like a mixture of incense and a plastic doll's head.

It's not sweet at all. The comparison with Tresor La Nuit and it's other flankers (truly sweet gourmand perfumes) left me perplexed.

Part II:
Edit: Maybe, what this perfume needs, is patience. After a couple hours, the sweetness emerges (the "second accord"). Is not something I would normally choose, but it's a really interesting smell... classic, elegant... this is a powerful woman. it reminds me the 90's, but I still can't grasp why (it's the iris-like note).

I still can't understand the Tresor La Nuit connection.

Part III:
Edit 2: I'm back. Take this as a "real time review". After five hours, I can finally smell Tresor La Nuit in this perfume. It's really soft, and is not exactly the same, but it's a beautiful and super sweet surprise.

This perfume is a rollercoaster. Bravo!

Part IV:
Edit 3: After trying it a second time, I can understand all the previous reviews. It's absolutely a sweet gourmand. I can still feel that "incense" note, but in a subtle and harmonious way. I agree that this perfume belongs to the same category that LVEB and Tresor La Nuit, but it has a more mature (not old) accord than the other two (wich, compared to this one, are more "girly" or "playful"). It's seduction in a less obvious way.

RachelSeun

L’Extace is a sweet and powedery rose fragrance. I own La Nuit Tresor by Lancôme and really don’t get the similarities between the two so it wouldn’t be redundant to own both of them. However, I would Place this in the same category as Lancôme’s La Nuit Tresor and Tresor Midnight Rose in terms of the feel and occasion; there is something so sensual and sexy about this fragrance but sexy for a more mature and classy individual. If you want something for date nights and close encounters, this fragrance is actually lovely fragrance to have in your collection.

Jocovt11

This is a jammy sweet rose, but the perfect amount of of sweet, not over the top. I had Rose L’Extase and it was far too sweet for me, although it was very beautiful when I washed it off my arm, and only the traces of it were left. I hoped this one would be like the traces—a toned down, less sweet version. It is perfectly that.

It doesn’t smell artificial or plastic-like to me, although it’s not a fresh rose either. It is a beautifully done jammy rose. I think it’s a good rose for gourmand lovers too, although Rose L’Extase would be a better choice for people looking for edible rose.

Some people are so confident in their reviews when stating matter of factly what a fragrance is or isn’t, and those are the ones I end up disagreeing with. Who knows how something smells to another person, truly? It is their truth, their experience.

Jmalone84

The first spritz is so plasticky and vile and incredibly sweet. But then it’s like strawberry vanilla candy. I’m really not sure how I feel about this one but perhaps it requires a few tries.

Drnonododo

Let's take a moment to appreciate how much that bottle looks CLASSY!

The juice is just like the bottle, refined clean, classy, vintage and warm. I can't really smell anything but creamy rose and honey although I have a strong sense of smell.

Also I can see it as a signature scent for an old soul which love roses and enjoy dressing up vintagy. Not for a girl but doesn't smells old too, just for a grown-up lady who tends to be well behaved.

It has a moderate sillage for a couple of hours then on me it turns to a skin scent until it fades after 8-9 hours of applying ( which some reviewers tend to see it as an advantage because powerful rosey perfumes can be a bit overwhelming).

The downside for me is that I am in a life interval of craving strong gourmandy sweet scents ( like lolitaland from lolita lempika) after an interval of white florals love.. So I think I will keep my bottle until feeling ready to enjoy it again ;)

fyetan

Starts a bit peppery and mostly fruits on rose. It is STRONG. Soon it develops into a jammy rose, thick and heavy. Seriously this has some powerful projection.
Would be great in cold weather.

With the Rose Extase flanker on the other arm, the caramel in this one becomes more apparent. This one is a bit creamier, a bit sweeter (due to the caramel, though I don't smell it as CARAMEL, just as depth/sweetness). Has a bit of a Jergens lotion vibe to it.
(Rose Extase is more bright fruity raspberry on rose, without the depth/sweetness of the caramel.)

Amy Ann

If you want a perfume that will bring down an army with its sweetness, this is it, but don't be surprised when people around you will run away because of migraines.

Palmer Eldritch

I'd like to begin by saying this is NOT a jammy/syrupy rose, nor is it gourmand. This is a proper, fresh rose and is prominent from first spray.

Like other reviewers I 100% agree this is a very elegant perfume, extremely reminiscent of classic high-end perfumes like Coco Mademoiselle but 0 sweetness & more emphasis on rose. It's a very mature, grown up perfume, and I cannot picture this on anyone under the age of 40 or even 45.

On my skin the perfume started out as a peppery rose, the fruits barely exist and are very faint...practically non-existent. The dry-down for me is soapy florals with no fruits: mainly rose with benzoin, amber, musk and earthy patchouli. The caramel is overshadowed by these notes and isn't sweet.

Like a previous reviewer, JustSimpleThings, I appreciate the quality of this perfume however I am also disappointed since it didn't turn out as (some) reviewers described. There are other fresh rose perfumes I prefer to L'Extase

This is a classique, sophisticated winter scent for ladies who prefer rose scents with a mature, feminine twist. It's not fruity or sweet: If you're looking for that go for 'La Nuit Tresor', 'La Vie Est Belle' or their 'A La Folie' /'Eclat' flankers. I recommend for people looking for that kind of scent.

P.S. I also own 'Mauboussin A la Folie' and this smells nothing like it. Absolutely 0 likeness.

jumblecupcake

A grownup sweet and fruity perfume. It reminds me of many high-end perfumes, maybe because of the patchuoli. I love this kind of scent. French perfume technique it is the top notch.

JustSimpleThings

Testing it in cold weather:

I agree with people who say this scent is quite elegant. It's sophisticated, yet slightly sexy.
It is NOT a jammy/ gourmand rose as I hoped it would be. I don't mind because I enjoy the sophisticatedness too, but in that regard this was definitely a disappointment to me.
This is LUSH Rose Jam toned down 80% and mixed with a sophisticated "perfumey" base.

I am looking forward to testing this is summer heat, I hope that will bring out the gourmand aspect more!

SeauxGood

A beautiful, musky floral with sweet top notes. I like that they incorporated the peach and pear without making it smell sticky and candy-like. (I’ve been on a bad run of fragrances that wind up smelling like lollipops and sherbet.) This is definitely a sophisticated, grown-up scent with A LOT of silage. Although I’m first trying it in Summer, it’s giving me Fall/Winter vibes. Would be a great selection to wear to a Christmas party or New Year’s Eve date. I’m definitely loving this one.

brieks07

Rose petals floating in warm caramel and pancake syrup in a cedarwood bowl.
Dark, intense, rich.
Strong sillage, so spray carefully - one spritz is intense by itself! Perfect for a fancy night out. Evocative of formal evening wear, wine, and elegant jewelry in my imagination.
Long-lasting and incredibly gorgeous.
This instantly became one of my absolute favorites!

SARA MOHAMED

I am in love with this perfume. A whiff of soft caramel pops in my nose 3 minutes after wearing it.

I guarantee it's not going to be a disappointment for gourmand and powder lovers!

geeshi_94

One of those fragrances that makes me feel sexy and confident.

RosieRose16

This is a perfect sweet rose scent. It is pure rose coated in caramel, it smells super delicious and is so sexy.
I would agree with previous reviews that this does smell similar to rose jam from lush but it is a smoother, slightly darker more mature version.
This was a blind buy for me and I couldn't be happier with it (excellent deal from Amazon for a gift set- 80ml bottle, 10ml pen spray and 100ml body lotion for £32!!!)

ShinningLightOfThunder

Very pretty rose scent! Reminds me of Valentino Donna.

ekowala7

I am a shy rose lover, I definitely don't seek it out and tuberose makes me nervous - but this fragrance quenches my 'rose jam' craving enough that this is currently the only rose I have/need in my collection!

I L O V E Lush Rose Jam anything and wanted a rich, syrupy rose in my collection, without breaking the bank. This one hits it out of the park for me. It is more refined and elegant than Rose Jam - which can be loud and cloying. But it also isn't completely subtle and clean. There is a little bit of grit & sexiness to the scent.

Longevity is 3-5 hours on my skin, longer on the clothes. I wanted something that would fade cleanly though, as rose isn't my favourite and don't need a heavy hitter. Silage is moderate - nothing wild. It is close, sexy and gorgeous!

Overall - 7/10, I will likely not need to re purchase as my 80mL should last me a while.

Adge80

I love Nuit la tresor edp so fell into the trap of blind buying this one. Buyers remorse everywhere! This starts out like one of those pastel bath soaps from the 80's that's carved into a rosette. Then after a few minutes Jessica Simpson Fancy comes blaring in, but not in a good way -it's all clashing. The only positive I can find is that it fades incredibly fast. Sorry.

CrazyRussianChick

Another blind buy, and another success! It’s everything I thought it would be. Definitely reminds of Tresor La Nuit, just not at the very beginning. This one seems softer and juicer at the top. Can’t tell the difference at the dry down. Overall, I’m definitely keeping it!

IMadeleine

I don't like it at all. It is so boring and i can t smell the peach or the pear note....i will not recommend it and i deffinitely not buy it again.....and I have to say it is note sweet as I read about it, it is totally a floral one with a liitle bit of sweetness. I am sad because i got and 80 ml bottle.

Update: sillage zero, it is like a skin scent. After 30 minutes i almost smell smth....it fades a looooot. I can't wait to finish the bottle. I am very dissapointed.

I give a 1/10

mariceltroitino

This is like the more serious, more mature version of La Nuit Tresor. A little darker, too. The young woman wearing La Nuit Tresor wears this when she reaches middle age. It is not surprising that they are so similar since they share so many of the same notes, but they are completely different works of their own. This is quite strong and extremely long-lasting. Sweet and good for winter. The amber is very prominent, and the caramel is delicious. Really good perfume. On the right woman it would smell beautifully.

MichelleMoon

I tried a sample, and I was immediately blown away by this delicious, dark fragrance. I ordered a bottle that night. This fragrance is intoxicating and addictive. It was love at first smell for me.

Overall, L'Extase is complex and mysterious, with many layers to explore. While the notes are distinguishable, the fragrance is also cohesive and well-blended.

To me, the opening is juicy and very sweet, with raspberry and rose dancing on a warm spicy base. Then the top notes quiet down, making way for the comfort of the pink pepper, cedar, patchouli, and vanilla. It is sweet and gourmand without being downright edible (unlike its sister, Rose Extase).

On paper, there's nothing particularly unique about this combination of notes, but Francis Kurkdjian's artistry really shows here. L'Extase is one of those fragrances that captivates me immediately for some intangible reason.

In terms of performance, this fragrance lasts overnight on my skin. The sillage is at least arms length (possibly further). I use 1-2 sprays maximum.

I love it. 10/10.

fillifelle

The reviewer who mentioned “rose jam” is right. At least in my experience!

Immediately, I got syrupy honeyed rose. Not fresh roses, but a certain “cooked” quality. Like rose petals being combined in a pot with raspberries and copious amounts of sugar to make compote. I can almost hear the plop plop sound as bubbles break through the boiling viscous liquid.

Slightly screechy upon opening (I find raspberries often do that for me) but settles into a classy sultry scent. Does not smell cheap at all. Very well-made fragrance.

One of the best looking bottles.

eostrix

It is that kind of fragrance that your friends are asking what you are wearing. It is quite strong and exotic, even sensual. That one that is suitable for autum night out with your friends or lover. It is nice to fell in love in this every once in a while but I wouldn´t wear it every day and also it wouldn´t be my signature perfume. However if you want a perfume that you could also feel and smell yourself then it is quite good.

Bubbles1964

The opening was tough on my old nose: too much caramel and raspberry, drowning out all the other notes. There’s also something that smells like plastic toys, fresh from the factory. I waited for the drydown and when I realized I was in it, I was surprised that there was no change. Rose is here, but she’s a support note.

L' Extase projects a couple of feet during the opening, and lasts for several hours. I washed it off in the middle of the drydown as I found it headache inducing.

I respect and admire Francis Kurkdijian, but L' Extase comes across as a generic scent. I often like mainstream perfumes, and was excited yesterday when I discovered another Nina Ricci that I liked (will write about that one soon), but L' Extase is a big dislike and I can’t wear it.

octobertragedy

This is indeed a very beautiful sweet floral fragrance. Bitter caramel, roses and raspberry in the opening, nice vanilla, amber, patchouli drydown. I also see the resemblance to La Nuit Tresor, for the sweet notes, but less it's impressive in terms of intensity.
Even though I do like it, I definitely can live without it. It's just a safe floral gourmand, that won't leave you breathless.
Beautiful name, classy bottle, but the juice seem to lack something. Idk, I was expecting something more sensual and a little bit more glamour. All the beautiful notes fade in a couple of hours, leaving almost no trace...

Forbiddenjade

I honestly do not get what the fuss and ahhh, ohhh are about. This is a caramel, sticky toffee pudding fragrance with a hint of bitter note on the opening.

I was expecting much better! It is good, but nothing really special or an outstander, this I mean.

Sillage very poor, longevity very good (6 hrs as skin scent). This works better sprayed on clothes than on oneself, as it projects better - and for longer.

I have to give it a 6. Nina here created a nice juice, but a bit more rose and less caramel would have made this a one of a kind scent. Perhaps this will perform better in the heat... will wait for a summer test, though it is a bit on the heavy side of fragrances for that.

RossanaJ

It took me a while to buy this fragrance due to negative reviews, but eventually I did! Beautiful! On my skin there is only a faint smell of rose! I get the caramel the most, vanilla, patchouli, some red berries, what a stunning smell! I need a bigger bottle! A passionate sensual fragrance! Love it!

LilAggi

I'm a fan! I find it sexy and sophisticated. I absolutely adore the bottle - that smoky amethyst ombre glass is just WOW. I would have bought it for the bottle alone! People mention the scent has poor longevity - well I know I'm in the minority, but that's a big plus in my books. I work in a scent-free healthcare setting and don't want to have to scrub perfume off before work from the evening before. And to me, this is definitely an evening scent.

Di_berry

Nice caramel & rosy perfume. I get at the opening a rasperry syrup, like children cough syrup.
I can see the similarities between this and La Nuit Trėsor, mainly as a first impression, with that caramel note.
It´s not offensive in any way, I get a decent longevity.
At the end all I´m getting is a powdery rose that reminds me exactly at how Mademoiselle Ricci used to smell on me.
Very nice bottle, and a special mention to the atomizer spray/vaporisateur, because it leaves you spraying the perfect mist on you, it´s the best!

auroramaria

Since I bought a bottle of this fragrance I hardly ever used it, I remember thinking it was nothing special until today.I have a large fragrance collection and usually wear medium to heavy scents even though lately I have been craving lighter and softer perfumes.I gave L'Extase a couple of sprays and well it is truly lovely this is what I need right now,it is softly sweet and lingers on skin gently.Sophisticated and very feminine and it is now being sold at a very good price online so I will repurchase

ajjava

I don't scrub them off often, but this one had to go. I sprayed a TINY amount on my hand and it GREW into a gigantic beast of a scent bomb. The scent itself is ok - the force of it, though, is like a strangle-hold. This is going to sound dramatic but, because mere washing alone wasn't getting it off my skin, I ended up using some of the cat urine neutralizer that I have on-hand. That mostly did the trick.

ninaxoxo

Blind bought this after reading the reviews. It was on clearance at TJ Maxx for $29 for a gift set including 2.7 oz of Eau de Parfum and 3.4 oz of body lotion. I thought it was a good deal. Especially since I read that this was similar to La Nuit Tresor, one of my all-time faves! It did not disappoint! It is very much like La Nuit Tresor but not exact...just does not project as well or last as long on my skin but the scent is very reminiscent. Definitely worth the price I paid! Don't sleep on it if you see at your local discount store!

Flame Maiden

I blind bought this based on all of your reviews. I have to agree with the general consensus, it is sweet, rosey and mature. My favourite fragrance at the moment is La Nuit Tresor and yes, it's the same family as that. I think this is perfect for me, 50 years old, Scorpio that likes to smell mysterious yet appealing enough for people to ask what am I wearing. This will easily fit into my fragrance wardrobe as nothing in it is offensive or headache inducing. I would recommend this if you like a sweet floral oriental.

AlexxaGuilbert

This perfume is one of the greatest perfumes I’ve ever seen! It’s kind of dark and intense. It also lasts for a few good hours, I love love loveee it!

Janney

I absolutely ADORE this perfume!
I mostly bought it blindly because it's almost impossible to find it in my country. The moment I found it in a mini-perfume shop, I just KNEW I had to have it!

When I first sprayed it on my wrist, I HATED it. It smelled cheap, like scented alcohol. I didn't feel ANY of the notes. None of the white petals, pink pepper or amber.
All I felt was just musk and cedar, and it was TOO sharp to my nose.
As soon as I let the scent dry down after 10 minutes, I really started noticing all the lovely notes. I felt the slight almond, patchouli, and a ton of ROSE! Rose is something I fell in love with! It may have a "vintage" side to it, but I think it's classy and screams, "I'm a posh woman! I'm irresistible, and you're gonna have to catch me. My scent is my trail. Follow me." Now, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
Its longevity is around 5 - 6 hours on my skin! It's not too strong, not too sweet; it's just right for me!
10/10
You know what they say, "Try before you buy!"

colorfulmess

A dark, sweet rose. Caramel makes it almost creamy. I think I'd prefer if that cedar was more prominent to balance out the sweetness, but it's still very nice. However, you can definitely overspray. It also lasts a long time, which is why I prefer this one over Le Nuit Tresor.

craftymaya

I much prefer Extase Rose Absolue which has a quiet patchouli and where the rose is the real star. Here, the patchouli and caramel combo is overwhelming... and covers the rose.

Snicole82

I found this to be similar to other sweet scents. Yes, it is nice but, I think we all have a scent like this in our collection. Caramel, sugar, flowers.......

Low sillage, short longevity

Beeflower

Very sweet full caramel and amber.Imtensive sent, Warm and Sexy i prefer it in winter or Summer nights out... I like it a lot! I

A Reflection of the Heart

Grown up woman ultra feminine (but sexy and with with a backbone) sweet jammy rose oriental. The raspberry brightens it and gives it a little kick. And the sexy base notes balance a refined elegance and keep it real. Good projection and longevity. Francis Kurkdjian certainly doesn't need my kudos, but he has them anyway. Love it.

piahellgren

I have just rediscovered this stunning beauty! All I have to say is scroll down and read Passionata's review- it is spot on! I swear; this one is better than ALL the other designer perfumes in this category and at least as good as most niche. So sensual, such quality! Edit: Weak and no longevity? We must have different perfumes, people who think this! It lasts and lasts and the rose and the caramel are best friends here. With that tartness that makes this so delicious.

vlarya

It smells just like miss dior absolutely blooming to me. Which is lovely, but I already have that.

Angelicax1

If anyone has this for swap, lemme know :)

tazziegirl

I bought this blindy due to two things, 1: my love of jammy-rose scents and 2: Francis Kurkdjian. On first spray I was really disappointed. I got a blast of department store perfume counter smell - you know, the kind of sweet yet generic mixed designer fragrance notes you get accosted with when passing by the fragrance counters. It was WAY sweeter than I imagined, and I wasn't picking up on any 'spiciness' just a super fruity, super sweet mess.

However, this has grown on me over time. I do pick up on the 'fizziness' that other reviewers mentioned, it reminds me of a fruity Moscato on a summers day - and it's a 'feel good' kind of fragrance, that gives me a bit of a pep up.

The bottle is 100% pure class and the atomiser is first rate (easily dispensing a spray of finely directed mist)

waskotransportation

I bought this blindly as I was trying to find any and all perfumes that may smell somewhat like Stella Rose Absolute Intense. I LOVE that one and I know there have to be a good amount of similar frags.

This one was not a dupe at all for my beloved stella but it was all-around a great blind buy. I cannot explain notes yet, but I will tell you the best way that I know how.

It opens with a tart and sweet freshness, norphs to rose/musk and then patcholi. It does not smell like stella per se, but is along the same vein at least.

I liked this bottle very much. Since it is a cheapie with less than great longevity, I typically use this when I am going to be staying home for the day/night. When I am at home is when I wear all of my cheapies and celebrity frags.

Sailor Pluto

I hit the jackpot! I found the 80 ml for $20CAD at Shopper's Drugmart :) It is very nice, sweet but in a mature way. The sweetness is tamed by a very tolerable patchouli undertone which just makes the rose and caramel "dark". I like it!

FragranceFatale

This is Amazing! I tried this after the absolutely gorgeous Mzurilove on YouTube recommended this scent... This is sexy sweet and seductive. This is outstanding quality for a very reasonable price compared to a lot of similar fragrances such as Lancome la nuit tresor. This has outstanding Longevity and silliage and I'm very impressed because not many scents last on me well due to my dry skin. I also can't believe the fantastic price I found this for at Chemist Warehouse here in Australia 39.95 for an 80 ml bottle! Absolutely beautiful perfume that I highly recommend to lovers of rose and sweet scents that are quite bold.

saintleegray

I got several samples of this in a swap recently and I LOVE IT. Great quality, it lasts for hours on me, I can still smell it on my clothes the next day too. Lovely gooey caramel with sweet berries and red rose. I'll be on the hunt for a bottle of my own now for sure.

daliflora

A sweet classic sophisticated French scent. It feels indeed softly mature and very pleasant. I remember I was first impressed by how good a friend of mine who was 60+ smelled and I asked her what did she wear. Next time I was in an airport (in Paris, I believe) I purchased it. I never felt sorry, though on her more mature skin it smelled better than on mine. I wear it with more formal attires from time to time.

Mona Lygre

I bought this sweet gem (30ml) for only 20 € this summer after sniffing on it several times :))

-I can't believe I forgotten to write a comment on it, I must have been so intoxicated, but it will be exactly as yours, the fans I mean <3

It smells very caramelly, and more caramells, so very nice if you like caramells!

And also this perfume is perfect for Christmas xxx

10/10

SparkleCat

I LOVE this perfume. It’s definitely caramel and rose and peppery. It makes me hungry when I smell it, which is my fav kind of perfume. 10/10 sillage is amazing, longevity amazing, I’m SOOOO happy. Finally a floral that mixes with gourmand scents that I adore !!!

Mbrock

This is pretty but there are many perfumes that smell like this. I have La rive In woman & Always red And they both do smell a great deal like this. I actually prefer In Woman to all of them because I can smell more rose in that. This one I can smell more berries with the caramel as the main scent. Minor differences but to close to really want to own more than one of these.
I do love the scent. Very pretty.

ismellsogood

This is delicious.
It reminds me of a mix between tresor la Nuit and MK sexy blossom. It’s very long lasting on me, sexy, fresh , sweet and sensual no weird dry down. A perfect design and blend. Bravo Nina Ricci!

Tine1world

I'm in the tropics Rhaineclayton, haven't been in Melbourne for over three years except when my son was murdered. I'm not bagging anything. We all perceive fragrances differently and it's really humid up here. And it reminds me of Tresor. But then I have not owned Tresor only sampled it in the day. I was more into Peome O de Lancome ...

rhaineclayton

Sorry, I have to disagree with you, Tine1world.
I adore Tresor. It's a perfume that I've loved for decades and will always have in my collection for it's sparkling rosey peach.
This however is all rose and musk to me. Lots and lots of musk. It's heavy, as is Tresor, but it lacks the brightness of Tresor.
I will always love Tresor but I was over this one in five minutes.

Tine1world

Tresor, tresor, TRESOR. Reminds me of a non club night downstairs at Inflation circa 1981. when Tresor, Dune and Samsara were the most popular fragrances for Inflation patrons, this in a time when I was into Paco, Chanel and Hermes. Well I was alway and still am a little different.

This was a blind purchase for me and now being summer way too heavy. The Musk is very heady. This musk aspect of 'L'Extase' EDP actually reminds me of 'Rose Blossom' by Police although I think that was not the intention. It's more the strong musk. Perhaps I may like it in the winter?

It's very long lasting and stays on even after washing. Lasting day's if I didn't shower. That I am sure of.

I can't really discern the notes other than florals and musk, but it's the heat and humidity right now. Again this is very, very reminiscent of Tresor to my olfactory senses.

L'Extase is bold and very, very 80's and furthermore vintage in both scent and longevity. I paid a mere pittance for my 30 mill EDP flacon, $20.00 AUS. Another bargain.

If your a huge fan of the Tresor fragrance lines then this fragrance may suit you for a fraction of the price.

Alces Alces

This is really just gorgeous. Candied caramel rose with backup notes that never detract. Mostly it's sweetness and fresh rose. Beautiful yet comfortable, soothing and very pretty. I can't list all the notes because it is so well blended that it melds into rose + caramel + other stuff that smells good with it.

Absolutely delightful. Even the bottle is pretty. Feels like an indulgence to spray this on, like eating chocolate covered cherries.

zvrkic

Too strong, too sweet, couldn't even wear it in winter. I sold it very soon.

Wilka

Like it very much. Refined, sophisticated and elegant at the same time.

raw umber

Sometimes too much is just enough. I am a big fan of this achingly sweet mix. I definitely detect currants a la Armani Si, though there's also a distinctive peachy note. When combined with the rose the whole thing makes for a memorable and enticing caramel gourmand.

It is ultra sweet though. Without the rose to green it down and freshen it up, this heavy sweetness would easily become overbearing. Applied sparingly though, it's just what the doctor ordered on days when you're in need of some cheer and comfort.

I have a mini of this but if anyone just isn't feeling it and wants to swap out their bottle, please send me a PM.

GilmoreJava

This is such a sexy, seductive, intimate, sensual scent! I love this jammy rose, and what a rose it is. Reminds me of the same rose from La Nuit Tresor and La Nuit Tresor Caresse. They did amazing with this one. I love the advertising, the bottle is so classy, and the juice. Aghhhhhh, gorgeous! Just a reminder though, this one is very STRONG, so be careful when spritzing. Good job Francis Kurkdjian!

danielemcastro

Its pure grape juice. Not my favorite because the dry down is too powdery on my skin. Every Nina Ricci on me turns into a very powdery scent. I really wish it had worked out for me.

edsag197

Very sweet and long lasting. you can mostly smell caramel and rose. it's definitely a mature scenet.

Perfumedsecrets

A more tame version of La Nuit Tresor. I see both used often by French women. La Nuit is more complex and intense with incredible sillage while this one is moderate. It's a sweet and sexy little thing for a night out or a date, but it's not unique. This praline caramel rose trend has been around for some years.

ange ou démon

I have got a sample of this one and I can say that it isn't for me.It is quite sweet and very very heavy due to the sweet accords as well as the abundance of roses.

I dislike rose in fragrances because a-it doesn't resemble the real thing, b-it doesn't agree that much with my body chemistry and c-when ussed in perfumery it is usually the main most noticeable accord.

There are some notes I like in this that make it a creamy powder kind of fragrance, but the amount of rose as well as the blend of all the other notes makes it an unbalanced in-your-face, heavy, overly sweet mixture.

This is aimed for more mature age groups and it is definitely a winter night fragrance.

If your thing is roses in perfumes, give this one a try, just apply with care (a little goes a long way and it has good sillage and longevity as well).

raiza1990

I get a soft, powdery, warm caramel with a touch of rose and raspberry. Undeniably nice, but not really impressive.
Try it if you're looking for something feminine and sensual or a discreet gourmand.
This is not my cup of tea, but it has it's appeal, a certain mystery...
It is also not my favorite caramel fragrance, i think there are better ones out there, but it is well made.

Babbylone

After reading the rewiews i have a lot of hopes but there is something that reminds me between for fer narcisso Rodriguez and tocade Rochas maybe iris cause it is too powdery for me ,too fruty it is too of all.it is a scent that is boring very quickly.it reminds the perfums for WC like the scent of for Her narcisso Rodriguez.i AM sorry for thoses who like it but too artificial scent too synthesized ....thé only thing that is beautiful is the bottle very very nice

CassandraAlexandra

Uniqueness - 3/10
Longevity - 3/10
Sillage - 2/10
Value for money - 3/10

I had high hopes for this because rose+raspberry+caramel sounded tasty as hell.
At first, I got an initial sweet raspberry+rose blast. Maybe similar vibe as Midnight Rose by Lancome. However, within half an hour on my skin it turned very plastic-y unrecognizable skin scent. Longevity on my skin was poor - 3h max. Not a fan.

PricklyAndHot

Not interesting caramel fruity floral.

dovey

This perfume has the most sweetest & freshest dry down ever
A+ plus for that :)........
It's unique sweet gourmant perfume , ....there is nothing similar to it in the market - a true signature perfume
Caramel & raspberry are the most promenant notes
Then I can sence the patchioli , vanilla & a hint of Red Rose
and finally Amber ..

lulami

Nina Ricci L'extase is an extasy of roses which is the note I mostly smell and it's beautifully blended with the others. The perfume reminds me of my mother as she is one of the biggest fans of rose. When I was little I remember she smelt like roses and she had rose perfumes, rose essential oils, rose scented soaps. When I got into perfumes my tastes developped into other groups and I also had the strong feeling that rose perfumes are my mom's signature and I couldn't wear them. Discovering NR L'extase was like reviving the memories when I was a child in my mind, when my mom smelt like fresh roses. Of course the perfume is not just about roses and it bares a sweet component form caramel and fruity notes which make the perfume modern, mature, simple but at the same time sophisticated. Longevity is enormous, I could smell it in my clothes 2 days after and sillage is also very good. I was thinking of buying the perfume for myself but now I think it would be more suitable and a wonderful surprise to my mom as a gift.

daria.takova

I bought this perfume recently, because of all good words for it. Sadly on my skin it smells too sharp and metallic and after the bold opening it loses the sweetness and then disappears. It is definitely for the winter season and night time.

mutuvirafaith

This perfume is just that one beautiful scent that refreshes your mind and makes you feel good about yourself. It's sexy not sweet at the same time that it feels and smells so expensive. It reminds me of a perfume in Dubai I once bought the Asal AL Teeb woman. They both have relative relationship. It's now my signature perfume and all not ever replace it with Nutting else

dianacka96

Very beautiful fragrance. I am not a sweet perfume lover, but this has something special. Very deep, rich, sweet but not over sweet. Stunning caramel-raspberry rose with amber; musk and patchouli notes. Perfume always gives me good mood, also it is very "flirty" and complementary one. Strong and feminine, with pretty good longevity. The best in the evening. Just adore this!

lalondem

Okay that explains it. As I was wearing it I thought "why am I smelling this familiar smell?" Familiar like Elie Saab.....none of the same notes show as Elie, except rose, but geez, there is something there...then I see it is a Francis Kurkdjian as the perfumer.....aha! Yes, they must have some trademark basenote they put in there.....I have both this L'Extase and Elie Saab and I love them both, leaning a little more towards L'Extase at present...

francescasmith94

Very sweet. I feel very flirty and a little bit naughty when I wear this. It gets me a lot of compliments too.

LittleParfumista

When I saw rose and raspberry lancome tresor midnight rose came to my mind, which is too sweet raspberry, very little rose and oh so cloying. So I was sceptic about this one too, but patchouli and amber sold it.

Oh boy am I glad I own it!

Such a sexy, playful and yet somehow mysterious aroma. A classy jammy rose with bright raspberry and quite prominent pear. Caramel adds that extra sweetness, but the amber, wood and patchouli keep it grounded and not overly sweet. Quite quirky and seductive, attractive and confident woman fragrance. Good in all seasons and 'dress to impress' comes to my mind when I smell it on skin.

Classy and elegant bottle, beautiful juice, good silage and projection.

Lilium86

It's like an old style perfume... I don't like it, too heavy, too mature...

missk

L'Extase by Nina Ricci is one of those sensual fruity orientals. It reminds me a little of DKNY's Delicious Night, however L'Extase is much fruitier. It's quite a bold fragrance that is best worn during the cooler weather or on a balmy evening.

I am admittedly a fan of vintage Nina Ricci scents such as Deci Dela, L'Air du Temps and Coeur Joie, just to name a few. Recent Nina Ricci releases often disappoint me, however L'Extase strikes me as something a little different. They've essentially taken a classic jammy-rose scent and added a touch of sweetness and oriental warmth.

Despite the fact that L'Extase is now considered an affordable fragrance, it doesn't smell cheap whatsoever. It's really quite captivating and well put together. I am really not surprised that the nose behind this fragrance is none other than Francis Kurkdijian.

If you're searching high and low for a rich, almost gourmand rose, it'd be worth trying L'Extase. I have far too many rose fragrances in my collection at present, otherwise I too would be purchasing a bottle. This is one fragrance that deserves the praise it receives.

jayde_x

So sexy, luxurious and mysterious, rose and caramel are a perfect match in this fragrance. Amber adds to the syrupy sweetness while a combo of white flower, pink pepper and juicy raspberry/peach/pear keep it fresh. I wear this when I want to impress and seduce. The bottle is my favourite that I own. Feels and looks expensive.

Ariana.b

Such a sexy and playful scent! L'extase is exactly like the name makes you think, a mesmerizing and ecstatic perfume. From the start until the end it is very very sweet, the caramel makes well his job being the main note. But roses are coming behind and make L'extase an elaborate and elegant fume. Everything is blended well together, so even tough it may seem similar to other modern gourmand scents, it has a distinguished and refined facet. The longevity is good, almost 6 hours on my skin (on the clothes stays until they're washed); the silage is strong in the first hour and after that it becomes more close to the skin. I find this to be appropriate in spring and fall, when the temperatures are not extreme, but with a light hand it could be gorgeous on a warmer weather.

Brandi1975

Not a fan, unfortunately this one is a scrubber for me. I like sweet scents, I am a huge gourmand fragrance wearer but this one is headache inducing. Quite cloying and it sticks 9n the nose.

Tara_Dan

Something elusive and captivating about this darling. The scent I fell in love with on first try was a fruity fizziness, which must be the raspberry. On my skin, the fruit disappears entirely, but on my clothes, it lingers longer and I love the combination of the fruit and caramel. Oddly enough, I dont think of it as a gourmand, despite the caramel. Not very strong sillage I think, but to me it's most important that I am able to catch the facets of the perfume I'm wearing, and on that count, it's good. In fact, as I go through the day, I get a little sweet, and then some fruit at another time, and then a whiff of the lovely benzoin, which anchors the other notes nicely. Maybe that's why it feels elusive...and that's why I'm captivated :)

After I bought it, it felt a bit similar to CH by Carolina Herrera, and though that's a fragrance I love, I was initially disappointed that L'extase wasn't completely unique. But on experiencing it further, I think they aren't overly similar. CH has a strong woodiness which this doesn't, and this one has an airy sweetness (like a moscato really), which CH doesnt. But about 50% similar. Which is not all that much, depending on how you look at it.

I have a sneaking feeling that I like this better than my CH (after being oh so faithful all this time).

And the bottle...is so beautiful and classy. I bought the 30 ml (a policy-decision on all new fragrance given I have so many!), and the little thing fits into my palm so elegantly. Clean but soft lines, the deep colour of the bottle, so feminine, and lovely!

I can't stop wearing it! Ok. I shall gush no further...;)

I have worn this during this winter. It performs really well in cold wheather, like 8+ hours, but after a while i feel it becomes overwhelmingly headache inducing. Smells very dominant musk oriented perfume in winter. Slightly baby powder-ish? However during spring summer time as the wheather turns warmer, it smells more sweet and powdery which i think like better and no headaches. Did anyone experienced something similar? I know this perfume mostly categorized as a winter perfume but i think it deserves to be given a shot in summer as well.

It is one of sweetest perfumes I have.very very sweet.it's a mix of caramelly sweet vanilla sweet and ambery sweet.so I agree that it's very sweet but also I can smell something sour that makes it interesting.I can smell very sweet notes, rose and sour raspberry in first hour. It's very delicious and sharp and heavy sillage. But after that fruits and sweet notes are less and there is musk and rose and a little other flowers.it's less sweet and not sharp.very beautiful and feminine.I like this change if that sour and sweet caramel and raspberry stayed it gave me headache.longevity is very good and it's a sexy modern perfume for party and for fall and winter

Wow, I really liked this one. Unfortunately, it went back. Not because it wasn't a good scent, but because I ordered three bottles and they instead sent me three gift sets. I hate gift sets. I have absolutely no use for the body lotion, and, I find the bulky boxes annoying to store. The scent was divine though, so jammy, sweet, boozy and very lush. I would have had them replace them with the regular ones I ordered, but I had an opportunity to snag a few bottles of Fendi Elixir.....and couldn't pass them up.

Gourmand, no doubt about it. Exactly in the same vein as just about everything righ now. But it is pleasant and seductive even. Under the caramel there's a good rose - I'm not entirely sure if the caramel suits the rose, but it is pleasant, lasts well is not overbearing.

I found some of my samples that I hadn't yet tried in those sets you buy with the samples and a coupon for a full size bottle of your choosing....So this really confuses me. It has this weird synthetic plastic type smell to it. I really want to love these deeper perfumes BT for the life of me I just can't bring myself to keep it on my skin any longer than five minutes because it's just so overbearing and all up in your face. Sadly all I got was that plastic type smell followed by an overload of old lady 80s perfume.

I love love love this jammy rose! The atomizer on this bottle is amazing, too, haha! It's strong, and lasts all day!

I'm an emotional buyer haha so when I saw the advertisement for this in Paris airport I had to buy it. Not something I would go for otherwise but definetly one that takes me away in my mind. I still see the cobble stone streets when I smell it !

Not at all what I was expecting from a scent called ecstasy. It's part of that very trendy group of perfumes that are descendants of Flowerbomb. Sweet and ambery florals that become a whisper of a scent at the end of the day. Armani Si, La Vie Est Belle, D & G Pour Femme, etc. The bottle is heavy, and the cap is as well. I read a review below where they said it was plastic, but it's a heavy metal. Maybe they have a tester bottle or a fake. I love the gold plate detail that's on the bottom of the bottle. It's gorgeous, but the scent needs to be deeper and more alluring. Less sugar.

Blind bought this after eyeing for a long time in TK Maxx. Whilst this is up my street in terms of notes, it is not long lasting at all on my skin and sillage is disappointing. I had to keep reapplying as I couldn't detect it after 2 hours! It's really sweet and pleasant though.

Updated review:
This perfume reminds me a lot of La Nuit Tresor, only LNT lasts a long time, projects better and has better silage. I think this perfume is more suitable for Winter and cooler weather but I found it did not last on my skin then, but projection and longevity were much better in Summer. On my skin I get a deep rose that’s sticky and sweet, like I dipped my hand in a jar of rose jam... I don’t get any fruits but hints of musk in the dry-down. I didn’t reach for this perfume as much so I gave it away.

It’s one of the best alt to La Nuit Tresor in my opinion... bottle is very pretty and elegant too

This one is one of my "I-told-you-so"-fragrances. I just HAD to buy it with rose and amber and benzoin and peach. But yes, the raspberry and the caramel worried me. I think fragrances with those in them CAN smell good, but I often end up never wearing them since they´re just not me. I am a classic floral type of a girl- like them clear, clean, bright and slightly tart even. But it ends up this has a tartness that I first didn´t notice and it grows, strangely so, while wearing it together with the amber developing. So the "sour" note that bothers some people in the reviews here is what I really like about it! I find it to be a supremely blended perfume and on me it lasts a long time, while its silage is moderate. I keep waiting for myself to get annoyed at the sweetness, which happens with Tresor La Nuit and LVEB Absolu. But I just keep liking, close to loving, LÉxtase. Syrupy rose, evident peach, discreet, but obvious caramel and a very nicely executed amber/patchouli combo in the base. Subtle, sweet, rich, alluring even. I am digging this one. It´s WAY better than many of its contemporary same-style scents. Oh, and the bottle is one of the prettiest I have and have seen. Gorgeous.

i was looking forward to testing this because of reviews which likened it to magnetism which i adore. i have a 1ml sample vial and initially i just got this sour synthetic hand wash smell. now its settled and no more stink , i can smell caramel and faintly rose and raspberry... but only just. it doesnt smell strong. i only applied it half hour ago and no wafts, just nose to wrist but i'll update later. it's summer here in australia.

Tested this on a strip and on it reminded me of a fruitier Armani Si, definitely more mature than Nina and all it's flankers, still fruity though. However this didn't suit my skin, it turned into an overripe sour fruit-punch and as it was very potent and had a big sillage (I only did one spray), I just wanted to wash it off. I'd recommend to try before buying!

perfume_infatuated

This is a smoky and syrupy "rose-and-fruit" scent, significantly darkened by benzoin, and thickened by gourmandish caramel.

The benzoin note, which is a kind of incense, is extensive and extremely exaggerated in this perfume, giving it a dominating smoky undertone.

I find this perfume very loud and bold, and the incense accord quite dangerous. It can be offensive in certain places and/or occasions. All in all, it's a really nice evening scent.

kati77

It is a cuddly, sweet foodish smell, yes rose a huge note combined with amber and vanilla hint. Its much, much gourmandish smell if i would be a fan of those scents i would like it. But i prefer different types.

This is my 2nd review
Nina ricci l'extase was only nina ricci in my dislike list,I used to hate it with passion but I never give up on any fragrance, not before testing it couple of times in different conditions,so tonight which is really cold I gave it another go and guess what?I don't hate it anymore
Yeap,it opens veryyy sweet, too much sweetness even for me,combination of large amount of sugary sweetness and pink pepper and a hint of ripe, sugared pear is nauseating
As middle notes showup thinks worsen, that plastic sugary rose and tartness of raspberry reminds me kind of jam, syrupy, sticky and cheap...but I decided to resist this sour and sweet, syrupy raspberry, rose jam and let it drydown..drydown is pretty..something I expected from nina ricci, there is a light hint of raspberry, rose combo still lingering but sweetness isn't sugary anymore,it's vanilla, amber, caramel sweetness, and some soft musk, creamy and delicious and tartness of rosey raspberry makes it mouthwatering,I can't believe I'm saying this but I can't stop sniffing my wrist!
It doesn't take too much time for it to drydown so I don't know why I didn't give it an hour time earlier, maybe it unfolds easily only in cold temp
Sillage is enormous during first hour which I don't like, but thanks god it's still more than moderate after that
It's warm,sweet,delicious,happy and sensual..I may buy a full bottle of this in winter,but I should remember I can't overspray this,neverever
❤❤❤❤

There's definitely something My Burberry-esque about this one (same perfumer also). I like the opening better than the drydown, the opening is full of a nice, sweet rose, the drydown gets a bit sour on me. I can detect the pink pepper but it doesn't bother me that much. Inspired by erotic fantasies, huh? I wouldn't say so.

anikomarton

A must-have for sensual and vibrant women!
Like a delicious full bodied aromatic red wine !
And its bottle reflects it perfectly, stylish.

Normally I go for florals. Something about this makes it different from all other sweet perfumes. I smell caramel vanilla rose but not in a sickly overwhelming way. Very feminine, sexy and delicious. I love it. :)

hyperfluff

Jammy red roses and sweet berries dipped in warm caramel syrup...gets a little woodier/deeper and fuzzier in the drydown but does not really evolve that significantly. I had high expectations for this one, the main notes are among my favorites, and I was so excited to be able to finally test it on myself. It's a very nice scent, so very nice...but left me feeling flat and failed to rouse my excitement. A few reviewers have compared it to Armani's Si, and although I can see why (I spotted a similarity instantly), I find Si abit richer, sharper, more distinctive, more dynamic, more of a 'chameleon' mood-wise, more charismatic and less romantic. This one has a more passive, more languorous, 'blurred' sort of vibe in comparison, like beautifully slow background music that gets drowned out by the syrupy sweet, giggly chatters of new lovers. I actually find it sweeter than Si due to it being less faceted and having less contrasting notes...yet it's more low-key, intimate and tender, and I guess lovers of this scent will find that's where the beauty of it lies.

But for me, I agree with the sentiments of a reviewer below who stated that L'Extase felt like a 'lesser' version of Si. Compared to other scents in its family though, this one is probably the most romantic and 'dolled-up' feminine. But it's not sexy, nor deeply sensuous, nor does it convey passion the way the ad or the name would imply. La Nuit Tresor did a better job conveying that as far as trendy gourmands go. L'Extase is very sensual I suppose, but more in a predictable, and very 'current' sort of way...sensual in a way that is immediately appealing, commonplace and made to please, a more 'hollow' sensuality if you will, rather than the kind of sensuality that will capture one's sense of intrigue and keep them coming back for more. Nothing wrong with that per se, it gets the job done and smells good...and I can see how this would be enjoyed by many, but for me, it lacks sparkle, 'pop' and excitement. Even for a trendy 'gourmand fruitcholli' (a group I do enjoy) it lacks contrast and voluptuousness, it lacks backbone and individuality, and it's missing the 'it' factor I look for in my perfumes. Anyways...still, it's super pretty, super feminine, and super wearable otherwise...good quality, attractive for sure. Good longevity on my skin (7-8 hours) and moderate sillage (less than Si), but stays close to the skin after a few hours.
