Nina by Nina Ricci is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. Nina was launched in 2006. Nina was created by Olivier Cresp, Jacques Cavallier and Christian Dussoulier. Top notes are Amalfi Lemon and Lime; middle notes are Granny Smith apple, Praline, Peony and Datura; base notes are Apple Tree, Musk and Virginia Cedar.

Nina is a new modern fairytale fragrance aimed at younger audience. Nina is an elegant floral-fruity gourmand fragrance, the scent of candied fruits. The composition starts sparkly and spontaneous, just like a carefree laughter with the fresh citrus notes of lemon and lime. The sweet gourmand heart is juicy and caramelly due to candied apple, praline note and vanilla whose opulent veil wraps the softly sweet peony and the Moonflower. Finally the apple tree, white cedar and balmy musk notes are touching your skin with their warm and soft sensuality. The fragrance was created by Olivier Cresp and Jacques Cavallier in 2006. The new Nina fragrance has replaced the old one with the same name, created in 1987.

Can someone tell similar perfume?like this

violetaura

A lovely fragrance. I wish this were still more available (I can buy it online but it's clearly disappearing).
The opening is a green apple freshness and sweetness. Smells uplifting and enlivening, and this is the part that seems immeadiately suitable for summer.
But it soon becomes less fruity and more gourmand with the praline. By about 15 minutes I only really get praline and musk and woods. Still delicious and I LOVE praline tbh, but the dry down makes it far less suitable for summer where I live (hot humid climate, praline is too cloying in that weather). It's a shame the fruitiness doesn't last longer, as I'd be fine with it if the praline and base came through after an hour or more. Maybe this is just how it is with time... I'm sure the bottle I tried was made many years ago.
Still, a gorgeous, lovely fragrance, but more suitable for my autumn weather, and since I think it won't be available soon, I won't buy it.

I also NEED to say, the opening is so so similar to Police To Be for Women, and the dry down is like a softer, less patchouli version of Angel EDT (2019 remake). I'd rather have Police To Be and Angel EDT separately so i can wear them in summer and autumn/winter respectively.

Paradiso26

If you want sweet for hot weather this one is a great one . Doesn't smell like everything else yet it does provide the perfect combination of sweet and fresh without the aqua fresh cold vibe . To me it smells like a candied apple , caramelized apple with a hint of lemon . As it dries down it leaves a sweet skin scent . I don't think it smells juvenile at all but it projects a soft innocent yet seductive femininity . You get the freshness from the lemon as an edt after a shower, great for summer and it dries down to a semi gourmand in an inoffensive and discreet way.

TeaFruit

I wish I could find this again - the first perfume that ever felt 'me'. Everyone was wearing DKNY Be Delicious and I felt so different with my 'different' apple (I realise now Nina was tremendously popular!), I remember it being crunchy sweet and fresh, girly with some syrupy depth.

I've since realised I love almost everything Olivier Cresp has created.

Iliel88

I loved this perfume for a long time. Then it gave me headaches so I gave it to my friend. Musky apple citrus scent. Nothing floral in it.

jsb41

Kind of a musky, caramel apple scent. Opens very citrusy but calms down. It’s fresh but sweet but not Pink Sugar sweet. Very wearable to me. It kind of reminds me of Ariana Grande’s Cloud if you swapped the lavender for apple.

Sophia97

I bough this fragrance because of the bottle, if I don't lie, I mean such a cute fragrance bottle! As far as the smell is concerned, I found it very citrusy. I wouldn't buy it again, also the long lasting is not so long lasting on my skin. It's a no-no for me.

sbv

It's too sweet for me. I received it as a gift as an undergrad. I would not buy it myself.

jadepo21

This is far too lemony for my taste. The opening has a furniture polish quality to it. It does wear down some to allow the apple and floral to come through, but it stays too acrid for my nose. The longevity is good though. It even outlasted a shower!

EmoZombieSlayer

Love this perfume! It's very citrusy and fresh at first but the sweeter and woodier scents pop through once it dries down. The scent might be slightly outdated for some people, but if you enjoy fresh, soft, and fruity scents this is it for you. The smell lasts long and it's the kind that pleasantly floats after someone when they walk past.

(also, beware when wearing this during the summer... the smell is sooooo much stronger than normal, a little overwhelming for some.)

nordlanderin

I like this perfume. Doesn't smell like a typical perfume from 2000s, imo it's so distinctive that it can't be attributed to any decade and it will always stand out, in a sense.

It does smell like apples! It's crispy and with a hint of sweetness from the praline, playful, fresh and cheerful. It's fun to wear, especially in spring.

Samelia

Sweet apple scent, that works well in warmer weather when you want something fruity and uplifting. While it’s a sweet fruity scent, the citrus gives it a little bit of a freshness.

It’s definitely somewhat juvenile, but I find it’s part of its charm. It’s definitely nothing groundbreaking, but a fun, girly and playful fragrance. Great sillage and longevity. I can smell it on myself for hours which I love. Always happy to wear this in summer, particularly on those really hot days when I’m craving a fruity, happy fragrance.

Amethyst3

I was gifted this as a young girl due to the advert being so magical and the bottle being so pink! The smell is VERY sweet and crisp so if you don’t like that cutting apple scent , stay away . It even got a bit too juicy for me at times ; was difficult to finish whole bottle but definitely a fragrance with a personality .

Astaria_Rex

For once an affordable frag with a gorgeous bottle, price and smell!
This is the fresh smell of an optimistic young woman in her 20's. She is well composed, but approachable. She is probably wearing crisp white and has high hopes. She smiles all the time and probably doesn't take anything seriously. She is worldly and fun. Energetic. The bottle is slightly ironic, as this frag is indicative of Eve in The Garden. It is as close to a sparkling lemon/cucumber soda on a breezy sunny day as you can get in a fragrance. It feels like a cool glass of tea in the summer, but no sugar. There is no sweetness here, just freshness. I personally wore this throughout my 20s, The other day I saw a small bottle on sale. Purchased it for the memories. My daughter is in her teens, and saw it on my vanity. She is always playing in my perfume. She couldn't resist the bottle. After one spray, completely hooked. It has become her signature! For the Christmas holiday I purchased her a full size at $52. Thankfully, because at her rate of consumption of Gucci frags, she needs a job! For reference: my daughter has loved Gucci Guilty, Gucci Guilty Black Por Femme and BBW Into The Night, and Princess by Vera Wang. If you lean toward peppery/ginger/citrus/jasmine/violet/honeysuckle/cedar/musk notes, you will love this. It lasts all day, has great longevity and silage. Just enough to make people turn around and wonder what smells so heavenly. This is for the young/growing up woman. Also, a great transition frag for those graduating to more mature scents.

Shui-Xian

I can't take this perfume seriously because of my little daughter, happily sniffing a wrist of mine, with declaration, she wants to wear it also. :-)

This scent is really vivid, juicy, sugary and youthful. Too much fairytale, maybe, but it is cheery and opulently peony. Who could be grumpy...? :-)

Aland2020

This fragrance brought me back in time. I remember when it first came out and was all the rage. I couldn't afford it and I wasn't working a job yet. By the time I did get my first high school job I'd moved on to other fragrances and forgotten all about this one. I saw a bottle for a decent price on ebay and decided to pick up a bottle just to treat my little ol self.

Well, there's something in it that put me further back in the time machine than I anticipated. While it smells completely reminiscent of its time, and like dozens of smell alikes that I would become more acquainted with in the later years, there's something else. I'm transported to 2002-2004. I'm 10 years old, standing in my older cousin's bedroom, looking at all of her posters on the wall, MTV is playing on the TV in her room, she's got a little assortment of perfumes on her vanity, and I would give my right arm to be an ounce as cool as her. She pulls out her guitar and we begin to write songs that don't make any sense and will never make it outside of the walls of her bedroom, she's got blue streaks in her hair, and she smells like this apple-shampoo perfume. It couldn't have been Nina, it hadn't been thought of yet, but the fragrance was ingrained in the memories I didn't know that I'd kept, and never thought about again until smelling this perfume.

The scent itself is nothing extraordinary. Going off of scent alone, it's a fruity musky little thing. Could've told me it was Bath Body Works or Avon and I wouldn't have batted an eye. Performance is terrible , this must be a newer bottle, and possibly reformulated. I get absolutely no praline, I may have guessed there's some vanilla as there's a twinge of sweetness that keeps the granny smith from becoming bitter, despite also having a lemon-lime cedarwood soda accord present as well. Honestly, this is like Light Blue's younger, more artsy and bubbly sister. This would be the perfect first perfume to gift a young person. I'm going to start recommending it as such to people who ask. I'm wearing like 8 sprays and I can only barely detect it, wafting in and out just ever so often. A youngin who's going to drown themselves in their first few fragrances until they get older and wiser (it's a cannon event, you can almost never interfere) would be safe with this one, and so would the people around them.

If you like the idea of light blue, fruity shampoo fragrances, are young (either literally or at heart) and your favorite candy of choice is sour patch kids or skittles, check this one out.

looraw

This will forever be my tweeny bopper fragrance. To me (and I’m sure many others), it represents an exciting, sugary entrance into adolescence in the mid-2000’s. At the time, I think I could sense I was on the precipice of discovering the mysteries of the adult world. I haven’t smelt this one in years, but my memory of it is that it is delicious, fresh, citrusy and cute.

oxeslevy

This stuff gives me a headache. I had a bottle a long time ago and I suspect I must have been enamoured by the bottle rather than the scent which I find too cloying and sweet on me.

Sillykn

I used to love this perfume I don't know if they changed it or if my nose change so much but now it smells almost plasticy?
No sweetness no apple just sour plastic...

Air.astarte

this was a gift bought by mistake in france. they meant to get me "a different apple bottle [they] knew [i'd] love because it's smelled like gasoline". i'm not sure what they original choice was but this was a pleasant nostalgic surprise. the dry-down smells very much like a jlo from when i was younger called live...a white bottle version with a little snowflake charm. peppery, cold, clean, non-gourmond sweet, balanced perfectly with woody cedar and hint of slightly powdery+_ floral. i would have to smell them side by side to find a difference but i'm sure that original jlo fragrance is long gone or a reformulated zombie. The first time I tried Nina I was sure I didn't like it, but after it dried I loved it.

natasha28

Nina Ricci Nini - It's okay, I can see why it's been around since 2006. There's a syrupy note to it. Almost like a licorice slightly woody. Sits close to skin, probably good for nighttime in colder months BC I find it a bit heavy. There's a similar dark sweet note (probably the praline) that is similar to Tresor La Nuit by Lancome, but I like that one better. Considering all the fruits in it, I thought it would smell more fresh/clean. But it's more of a baked goods sweetness. I wouldn't buy it, or keep if gifted, as I'm getting a little too old for sweeter scents, and am starting to learn more towards more floral-based scents. I think I'd be good for women in their early 20s.

luanneog

Uplifting, easy to wear scent with citrusy sweetness. It's a fruity floral that's not too youthful nor too mature. It's approachable and somewhat nondescript.

spellbook.soaps

Pretty and recognizably appley crisp… but quite faint. I see myself enjoying this in late January, when I am sick of living in Wisconsin and need a reminder of spring for my sanity. Tabling this scent until then.

The13thHour

I have repurchased Nina multiple times for years. I will never get tired of this perfume. Now that I have a bigger collection, I don't reach for this much as I use too. I mostly reach for this in the spring and fall. It's a perfect unique blend of fresh and gourmand. This is a sexy apple fragrance and I never came across anything else like this.

sailormoon_59

This was the first designer perfume I was gifted and that I fell in love with. I wore this throughout my 20s and loved the candy apple scent. I've actually been on the hunt for more mature/adult red apple praline perfume. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know. Nina is a bit more whimsical then my perfume tastes these days but it still has very fond memories. I haven't really heard anyone mention this but I do believe the formulation is different now, I decided to purchase a bottle of the Nina for Christmas for myself and it smelled completely different to me and very floral. I see on their website the notes have changed as well which was very disappointing. The notes that Fragrantica lists are the previous notes not sure when it was reformulated but now on the Nina website it's listed as top - lemon/lime; middle - gardenia/toffee apple; base - cedarwood/white musk. I definitely get more gardenia/white flowers and the apple note is less strong. Gardenia heavy scents tend to give me a headache so I ended up returning it. I was able to find a bottle from 2016 on FragranceNet brand new in a sealed box and I purchased it without hesitation. I was so happy it was the smell I remembered that wonderful nostalgic smell. Sadly I'm much more sensitive to smells now (after a head injury from a few years ago) and as much as I love love the smell it's too strong for me to wear I get a bit nauseous. I've thought about selling it or just keeping it for the pretty bottle but I may try to trade it for another perfume. I think I'd rather if someone else enjoyed it than me just keep it on a shelf. If anyone has a recommendation of a website where people can swap perfumes I would be interested in that, it's practically a fully bottle only spritzed a couple times. Please PM me to let me know and thank you in advance..

baekhyun

LMAO i don't know why but... this just smells like a pair of new shoes to me. i guess an apple is in the shoebox with them but otherwise it's just uncannily that scent - yet not one other comment seems to mention that?? so perhaps i'm just insane! the bottle, like most of nina's apples, is very cute. mine squeaks every time i spray it for some reason and it sounds like a very small kitten trying to meow (or this is just another sign i'm losing my mind) but it doesn't effect application so it's mostly endearing. anyway it's not something i really want to wear but maybe i'll spray my shoes with it!

AnneAnne888

This is a beautiful, fun, innocent yet sexy fragrance with decent sillage and longevity and an adorable bottle from the wonderful House of Nina Ricci, though it's production has been sold a few times to different companies, the current being Puig. I disagree with another reviewer here that the original Nina was a "dull floral" There was nothing dull about it, It was an exquisite, elegant fragrance that I had the pleasure of trying through Ebay as it is no longer in production. It's sophisticated and warm like something on a strong but warm, successful, beautiful woman. It had mad sillage and longevity, something sadly missing from most of today's fragrances.

Petrichor134

As the autumn starts and another school year begins, this is my start for this season. I never spray it during other seasons, it just wouldn't be right. I'm not a lover of summer, spring is relatively ok, winters have lost their magic as the hills and forests around my old small town are never filled with snow. But autumn is always perfect, first, bright and sunny, then colorful and fragrant, and at last gloomy and rainy. The time when the circus arrives in my town and the air is filled with music, apple strudel and popcorn. Halloween is not particularly celebrated in my country but this is when I start counting down the days till its here. This perfume is not particularly halloweeny, it's lemmony and not really gourmand on my skin. But the smell of apples, and apple orchards is marking that time of the year and I cannot bring myself to put on this perfume any other time or season. It's sour at the beginning, flowery and sweet in the middle and somehow I always miss the end. It does somehow evokes a bite into caramel apple but flowers always prevail. As the moody part creeps in I always grab some of my BPAL oils as they bring more of the Halloween ambience, but this one will always have a particular place and time and will never fail at being cheerful, sweet-sour fun fair.

dj71

I wore this back when it came out in 2006 and loved it. I hadn't smelled anything quite like it. I recently smelled it again and still like it quite a bit and I still can't think of anything that smells quite like it. To me, it's sort of a hybrid between a fresh citrus scent and a sweet gourmand scent. It holds up well and doesn't smell dated, IMO. I definitely smell citrus in the top notes but never would have guessed it's specifically lemon and lime. This smells just how I remember it, so I don't think there's been any reformulation of the 2006 original, but I could be wrong.

Kate_the_Iris

I have lost count how many “Apples” I have bought over the last 10 years or so. I went through college with it, I gathered a lot of compliments with this fragrance. It is interesting how this is an old scent, yet I never smell it on anyone on the street. It is definitely for a slightly younger crowd, as for women over 50 that may be too much of a girl-ish scent. It is sweet, I picture rosy cheeks every time I smell it. It is surely a joyful scent, that smells like you are ready to flirt and turn heads.

The longevity is great, the price tag is appropriate, sometimes you can even see it on sale. Definitely a good buy. The problem I have with sweet fragrances that often they smell cheap, and it totally kills it for me. But with Nina it is not the case. Nothing cheap-smelling there. The bottle too feels heavy and fancy (also, let’s really appreciate the design! It is so rare these days to see other than rectangular-looking bottles).
I recall the video commercial for this perfume, probably one of the best I have seen. No exposed bodies, no sexuality, yet the scent is so flirty. Pure beauty.

Another thing I appreciate is that when you use too much of it, you don’t get any of the alcohol-like scent which often you hear even from expensive perfumes. It feels very high quality and I can see how it could be a great signature scent for every day. It was mine for years. I still wear it sometimes and will continue repurchasing Nina until they stop producing it (which is hopefully never).

ava96

This is a very easy-to-wear scent, most appropriate for spring, but perhaps summer and fall as well. I didn't really find myself reaching for it in winter. To me it smells mostly citrusy, with some sweet notes but not really identifiable to my nose, I guess it's the pralines.
It disappears very quickly, after 2-3 hours it's like it wasn't even there.

FataMorgain

It's a nice fragance that can easily become a signature perfume for someone. It's fresh yet deep. I wouldn't say its generic but it's not unique either. A safe blind buy and a safe bet. Some reviewers say it's kind of juvenile but I'd say its just really casual.

Iloveperfume51

I have been wearing this perfume for over 10 years I have so many memories attached to this, it always brings me back to when I first worn it. It feels mature but young at the same time if that makes any sense at all. I think I have repurchased 3 times I just always go back to it. I like it best in colder months. It’s unique without being offensive like a gourmand but not too sweet it’s earthy with a little twist. For me honestly always been 10/10 so well done.

smolerin

Everything is great except the praline note. I think it is just my skin chemistry, but the praline gives me a headache. It does have that teen girl perfume smell, but maybe I just remember smelling this after gym class in the locker room.

JuanitaChristensen

This was one of my first few perfumes and I loved it so much! I definitely smell the apple notes on this one, and it makes you feel sooo delectable.

truffles

I'm looking for this, as I've had a sample for years and keep rediscovering it. I usually don't like more modern popular frags but this is a nice 'bridge' and yummy without being cloyingly sugary or artificial smelling.
But.. shock, horror ..has it (THIS one too, sigh) been discontinued??
All I'm seeing is 'Belles des' that 'looks' like it might be the same bottle and frag but research leaves me still confused.
Hmmpphh.
To me, this Nina (as opposed to the 'old', also lovely but in a different way one) is something akin to a cross between D&G Light Blue and Britney Spears Curious.
The new Light Blue! And boy did I love that. Still a like but it's kind of stuck in a time for me now.
This is a very well done, artful creation!
I think I've found the juice, but in a different bottle - but I want THIS bottle, wah!
I know - First World fraghead problems ..

tashwakefield

I must start by saying that this is NOT the Nina I have! My bottle, a rechargeable version of the original, came in a vintage boxed gift set, it is so deliciously retro in it's white frilly bottle with a gold bow! In spite of being an EDT, this little beauty still has longevity and sillage; I have new bottles of EDP that don't last this long.

It is an older style fragrance, mossy and powdered florals ensure that the fact that this is a vintage fragrance is blindly obvious. But for me, that's the point of wearing it. I love vintage!

It's a lot more subtle than my vintage L'air du Temps (I have a single dove bottle circa 1950 and several vintage miniatures) Nina is much like many older floral fragrances. Some might call it an old lady fragrance, I just don't care, I like it!

If you were to even attempt to reconcile this vintage beauty with the modern Nina, you would be lost for there is no comparison whatsoever.

It's prettier than Anais Anais; I had a bottle and hated it! It smelled of my late grandmother's bathroom in the 80s; but it's still in the same vein. The difference with Nina is, it's expensive. The price might have been higher, but the whole thing just reeks of wealthy upper class women with tasteful peplums and elbow length white satin gloves.

Call her what you will, vintage Nina is everything you expect she might be.

Enrium

The original Nina was a competent-but-dull floral, dated and somewhat lifeless as a result. It's understandable then, that Nina Ricci went back to the drawing board to create a brand-new signature perfume for the brand. In a 180° move, this joyful and youthful floral-fruity Nina was a trend-driven update for a modern audience in the noughties. It certainly paid off - Nina is a surprisingly good example of the genre, the kind of scent I categorise as a "blonde-with-a-brain" perfume. There is something of Proust's Madeleine to Nina also, as childhood memories are evoked.

Nina opens with a light and lovely lemon-and-lime accord - candied, fizzy and uplifting. It is reminiscent of childhood sweets - Skittles/Starburst/Sprite. An apple note, reminiscent of apple juice joins it after it subsides a little.

As it develops, it becomes a candy-apple scent, reminding me of Halloween during my childhood. The combination of sweet, candied apple, vanilla-accented nutty praline and soft, sweet florals conjure up this image perfectly. The bottle is apt as well as cute.

The drydown remains sweet, with musky and woody notes creeping in, still tying in nicely with the candy-apple theme - apple trees, the wooden stick on which it is served, etc. The praline-vanilla remains, soft and sweet until it fades. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

A youthful, feminine sweet scent with gourmand facets, Nina is a cut above other floral-fruities of its era. Cute and light-hearted, yet well-composed and with substance in the manner of Lolita Lempicka or Hypnotic Poison (apple shaped bottles must be a good sign!). Bonus points for evoking childhood memories. 4/5.

Axuree

This smells like lemon slurpees and lemon skittles and 🍋 lemon flavored childhood candies in general, you know which ones, and as it ages it gives space to your favorite childhood apple juice. I think that might be why everyone thinks this leans younger, it's inevitably going to give you memories of childhood sweet snacks and non-gross lunches, but i disagree that only young people are allowed to smell like sweet memories. It's not a bad scent, by the way, lemon and apple are widely used in cleaning products so itll give the impression of a clean light airy fragrance.

Not for me as i wasnt big on lemon candies and apple juice (i prefered berry flavored stuff back then so it comes with me to this day), but if you really liked summer snacks, winter punch, and they give nice memories to you give this a try.

annasarahr121

To my nose, Nina is ridiculously close in smell to Jessica Simpson Vintage Bloom (which I adore) but has even worse longevity than that wonderful cheapie. Though all I have is a sample of Nina, I do confess to coveting the bottle, yet probably not so much as to actually obtain one. All in all, probably a pass for me.

lapine

very fruity and fun but so childish, i wouldn’t wear it anymore but middle school-me would shower myself in it

Gemsense

If you want to smell this one in all it's glory, try it in 60 degree Fahrenheit temps.

emilia123

this is a very cute, sweet inoffensive scent. definitely leans younger, and I wish it had a more distinct apple note- for me, this just blends into a citrusy, slightly fruity sweet concoction.

midnight dot

I have it as a gift from my 14 years old self, the sweetest and cutest smell that little old me was going crazy about it. I remember where I would overspray it every day (even when I was staying at home), thinking I was a big adult doing adult things. I saw a comment saying this is the OG for virgins and I could not agree more. If I do have a daughter I would buy this.

abbieclark67

Lovely scent with subtle apple, peony, and not too sweet pralines. Not just for young girls; suitable for all occasions. In the beginning, the lemon never feels abrasive or acidic. It adds a very mild flavor and prevents this perfume from being overpowering. simply because it is sweet bas-basically. Nonetheless, not a sickening, immature sugar explosion. I must say, nobody is excluded from joy, and its bottle is lovely too with an amazing performance. It's the ideal scent—juicy, mild, girly, flirting, yet quite appropriate for the workplace.

playgirlz

the cutest perfume ever

cemeteryfairy

Smells like a lime flavored skittle sitting on top of a cedar chest with apple peels strewn about. What a shame it doesn’t last longer on the skin. The caress body wash called black orchid and patchouli oil smells just like the Nina edt if you’re looking to layer and prolong the scent :)

celestial_

For sweet being the top accord, I expected this to be more.. sweet. And for the bottle shape, I expected to be able to smell yummy apples. Unfortunately, this is nothing like I expected, at least with my body chemistry. To me, this is for someone who's into less feminine, more woody scents. I don't get any fruit, just woody, musky. Definitely more the apple tree than the apple itself. It's not bad, I just prefer sweeter, fruitier, more youthful scents!

emilie2527

This playfull summer time perfum. It is fun and fresh. I smell a lot apple candy personnaly.

Belle92

If you like the smell of sweet candied apples with a hint of lemon, then this scent may appeal to you. It's a fruity sweet smell but still has the maturity fragrance profile so adults can carry this scent, I used this extensively during my 20's and now that im in my 30's,,,,really missed it & planning to get another 1 soon.

mariboo

This is a perfume for virgins. I said what I said.
No, seriously. I used to love it when I was 14, but I don't think I could wear it today. Once you're in your mid-twenties and you've been through enough, this scent's innocence won't match with your personality.
Great starter for younger girls though. Very fresh and delicate.

Lady Lynx

If I were going to buy a perfume for a little girl, it wouldn’t be Nina because, come on, what little girl needs REAL perfume? That would be a total waste. I’d buy her some kinda body mist from B&BW and then make her granny-smith green with jealousy every time I come over for a visit smiling smugly and smelling of Nina.

Something about this fragrance is so appealing to the kid in me - there’s an initial pop of citrus and just a touch of something herbal to open, like a glass of lemonade served on the porch in front of a fresh-mown lawn.

It morphs gradually into a candy apple of the best kind, one that you can taste again and again as you keep licking the sticky sweetness out of the corners of your mouth, even after your yummy treat has been long since devoured. I’m guessing that’s the praline, so if you like gourmand fragrances this one’s absolutely worth it - Nina has one of the most impressive longevities I’ve had the pleasure to experience. You’ll smell sweet for days, weeks even.

Not that I don’t shower for weeks at a time, that’s just a guess.

Or is it? I’ll never tell! Ha ha ha!

charlotte_twister

It smells like a sleepover that lasted way too long. Like the bedroom of a friend you don't love, but you sympathize with, since she's younger and really likes you. She's prettier than you, her room is interesting and the house is nice. Both of your clothes are scattered everywhere, underwear included, you cringe at having to use her shampoo and shower gels, you never feel clean. Yeah, your natural teen scents overlapping smells like Nina Ricci Nina.

And she doesn't even have a brother, or a split personality. It's pure pointless sleepover. You can't wait to go home, but she's clingy and you're like, aw, okay, let's play chat roulette, fine.

Shyygrl

I won this perfume in a contest recently along with JPG Classique. I am not a fan. This smells like the weak cheap replica perfumes you’d find in a sketchy department store or a flea market in my opinion. I would absolutely NEVER purchase this for myself or as a gift. I can not point out any specific notes …it’s just blah :/

Lizykaes

Es un perfume DELICIOSO…. Solo el de Olympea de Paco Rabanne me había enamorado profundamente hasta que conocí este. Es dulce, delicioso que me lo quiero comer
Dulce elegante, no empalagoso
Notas que lo hacen único

Sloane

It feels fresh, like crisp winter air, with a distinctly natural apple scent.

FaunLefevre

The most clean and sweet scent that I have in my collection till date. This is actually not a sweet sugary scent but there is some sweetness from the apple and citrusy notes along with the juicy feel to it. There is powdery cleanliness with the floral feel having the modern classic touch to it. I enjoy wearing this smell as this is not too sweet yet the feeling of sweetness resides in and this is really easy to wear. This could be worn on all occasions and by all the ages. The opening notes are apples in it with the candy like feel combined well with citrusy noes bringing the balance. Nina Ricci lasts eternal on me; I can smell it on my skin even after 24-26 hours and the silage is amazing too. bottle is so gorgeous that one fells for it immediately. This juice makes my day a happy day for sure.

Spencemonster

I just. Don’t get it. This smells so weird. Like. Watery wet apples. With a fruity base. So weird.

exe_diax

Lo que se dice un verdadero cumbion.

santiniansia

This was a gift. I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise as it's not my preference anymore. But it is a sweet and inoffensive scent - typical of designer fragrances. It also has great sillage and longevity. It's a citrusy, musky apple with some floral in there too. Must be used sparingly on a warm, summer day as it is powdery.

jtcnme

This perfume smells so fresh and just the right amount of fruity! I LOVE it! I have several favorites and this one is really high up on the list! Great job Nina!

_I.V_

This is a classic apple perfume... love it or hate it, but it's a well-constructed classic designer scent. I like apple notes in fragrances. This one is a sweet and sugary apple. A little bit plastic-y; I guess, due to vanilla on the mild woodsy cedar base. Syrupy praline notes don't bother me, because citruses (predominantly lemon) make it tolerable and wearable. It has some nice floral freshness from peony and apple blossom. Perfect for fall months! I like it... It smells like plastic caramel apples from some type of Barbie fairytales. It has good longevity/projection. Last time I wore this, it projected heavily for 3 hours, and then it was a skin scent for 3 more hours. It's technically extremely linear, what you see is what you get, it doesn't change/develop much, if at all.

frozen_music

I don't really get a lot of citrus from this fragrance. Those who've described it as candied apple are probably closest to what I get along with a floral background. It's quite a young fragrance (something I'd have liked in my early 20s) and a bit too sweet for me. The sort of thing I'd probably compliment on someone else but wouldn't buy.

correspondencepersonal

Candied apples at the fair with a slight hint of carmelized popcorn floating in the air.
The Ferris wheel is lit up in the background and your sweet heart is tugging on your arm to ride the next ride.

This perfume holds within it photographs in your mind, motion pictures of memories!
The carnival, home town fair...all of the smells in the air!

Nina Nina Ricci has been compared a lot to Jessica Simpson's Vintage Bloom in other reviews.

Trying these side by side -

This is very different than Jessica Simpson's Vintage Bloom -
Vintage Bloom resonates more with a fruity lemonade.
Nina Nina Ricci is definitely more candied apples and carmelized popcorn.
You smell the tart apple with sour notes in Nina Nina.

Vintage Bloom is much closer to the skin, more soft with more of a lemonade blend with a blended fruit - almost like a fruit smoothie blend. The fruit notes are not discernible by themselves.
Nina Nina is more like actually biting into the apple and smelling a pungent tartness. There is a sharp crispness to the apple. The notes are much stronger and clearer.

I can see how these two may be compared as being in the same fruity sweet/tart family -
it would be easy to group these two together unless you tried them side by side.
I would say that they are about 60% similar in the first spray -
The dry down may prove them to be more alike.
I'll have to re-evaluate at that point.

I tried Nina Nina due to the comparisons with Vintage Bloom.
I really love Vintage Bloom - it is a great spring/summer fragrance and wears well on my skin.

I'm grateful that the reviews led me to another perfume that I really like - and may actually love!

Ikiru

God, I hated this. Extremely fruity and sweet, gave me headaches back them. It was lingering and very long lasting as well, so it was worse. Had to give it away.

386Vintage

Love the bottle ! sweet.

Ellsa

I can’t find a word for how crazy cheap and low quality this smells...

venussansfurs

I received a sample of this and a few of its flankers with some orders I placed. I must say, the bottle is perfect for it because it does smell like a candied apple. I thought it was interesting for about an hour or so and then found I didn't want to smell it anymore. It's the sort of fragrance I don't mind as a room scent but not on myself. There is also something synthetic here that appeared after a while. I am not anti-gourmand if they are done well, like Angel, ironically by one of the same perfumers. The flankers are not worth reviewing for me. A once-great perfume brand, unfortunately not for myself now.

leafrags

This perfume smells EXACTLY like a cheap perfume that I own, it's called Cherry Temptation by Women's Secret and the two are so similar !
So if you are thinking about buying this perfume, just buy the cheaper dupe and save yourself some money :)

blackoutinthezone

I finally got my hands on this after watching the infamous advert with the woman climbing the mountain of apples to reach the perfume bottle as a kid. I'M SO SAD AT HOW IT SMELLS.

Not my expectations at ALL, was thinking juicy apples, this smells like toilet cleaner, out-of-date lime, mixed with oud-esque smell, mixed with cigarettes. Maybe I got a bad bottle I don't know (EDIT: I didn't because I tested it out in a store, smells exactly like the bottle I've got), but just doesn't smell good.

malikun

When I was in the 3rd grade I remember this commercial I saw on TV - curly Rapunzel beauty with angelic face, white room, juicy red apples and the most seductive apple was the Nina perfume bottle floating in the air. When I got it as a gift from my brother years later I was just ecstatic! I just wanted to love this fragrance so much but there was something cloying about it that I just could not stand it. I wanted to love it so much because it was a gift from a person I love and I used it very sparsely, keeping it in my high school locker, but one day I found that it was stolen from me ...it was such a weird feeling to mourn about loss of something you don't even like...but the saddest part was that the face of Nina, Ruslana Korshunova, died under tragic circumstances...Anyway do not blind buy if in doubt

Mona Lygre

I tested this perfume today, and, it smells good, but it's just so very sour in the opening, so it's a pass for me.

temo

Ahh. . .the funniest thing! . . . I have been layering this with “Juliette Has A Gun - Not A Perfume” lately and I love the combination. They seemed a really good compliment to each other. I was running out of “Not a Perfume” so placed a Sephora order and lo & behold! while opening the package I noticed a little write up stating that the creator is Romano Ricci, Great Grandson of Nina Ricci!
Hmmm. . . Interesting . . .

pacynka97

The fragrance I have in my collection for ages is almost done. It was with me during my high school and during my university.

Right after aplication I can smell sweet and sour notes. I don't recognize apple, but I detect many creamy and road notes. I used to use them in two situations: when I wanted to be powerful (as a teenager haha) or when I wanted to impress a guy. I do not know why, but it was huge compliment getter.

Once I thought it was so strong and powerful, now I consider it as a warm daily fragrance. Even 5-6 years passed since I have Nina in my collection, I still enjoy the composition, which is still very pleasant to me.

I would consider it as a nice gift for a younger person (it was me, haha) to feel special and more mature, or as a daily versatile fragrance in 25+.

Mariana Arias

My signature scent in my early teens. Super simple apple. I can hardly smell the praline to be honest. This is far more apple-citrus than it is sweet. Safe blind buy for sure

punky9791

Tried Nina yesterday.

It's a very familiar, fruity-floral scent, nice for spring and summer wear, with the apple and praline coming out on top in a pleasant way. I know rose isn't listed among the ingredients, but there was definitely a rose scent emerging.

This was light and, again, pleasant, but it wasn't a standout for me. I didn't find myself intrigued by the scent to want to keep sniffing my wrists all day, but I didn't want to scrub it off at all. If I were gifted this perfume, I would not return, but I also wouldn't grab it very often as I have other fruity florals that I would turn to first. All that being said, however, if you're looking for a light, pleasant fruity floral that is a familiar, non-offensive scent in a pretty bottle, this will suit you just fine!

kati77

Nice and fresh fragrance. Had a mini of it. Longevity mediocre. Now after it's finished i don't miss this scent.

Beccyb95

I had this when I was a tween and loved it, mostly for the bottle and the pretty ads to be honest! Was feeling nostalgic and repurchased at a good price, and I actually really do like it. I think it’s unusual to find a citrus scent that’s so sweet and girly rather than super clean and unisex/masculine, and I really like it. The apple, musk and peony are noticeable in there too. I remember the longevity being poor (it is an EDT after all) but thus far the performance hasn’t been too bad. I don’t usually have signature scents but I could see this being a beautiful everyday spring scent.

ojosverdes

I’ve had this for a long time neglected in my collection. Sprayed it today and what comes to mind is that this shares a lot of similarities to Burberry Brit with fruity notes added.

rickyfreaky13

@Echurch1979: shame on you pointing at Jessica Simpson duplicating Vera Wang. You must be new in this fragrance world. Did you just try Fancy testerday? you are too late girl.. Fancy was release in 2008, Princess Night was release 4 years later after Fancy. So, who duplicates who?? Yes it does Vintage Bloom smells like Nina, but doesn't mean all her perfumes are replicas from other designers.

echurch1979

This was the first I ever purchased from Nina Ricci, and also the first of the 'fruit' scents. Although not quite as visually stunning compared to Bella, the bottle is still perfect in its deep, variegated magenta glass with silver leaves. I would say that for what it lacks in dazzle, it certainly makes up in content. This is another gourmand by Ricci that forms its own conceptual mold. It boasts contrast within its notes by placing luminescent tones of lemon, lime and tart granny smith apples, against musk, cedar, and praline. Released six years before Jessica Simpson gathered the notion to produce a fragrance, virtually replicating Nina by introducing Vintage Bloom in 2012. (She also released Fancy, thereby duplicating Princess Night by Vera Wang. Just a little note about Jessica's creations).
Nina really is something, with its seemingly hot and cold aromatic effect. She is perfect for most scenarios, and possesses tremendous longevity, with crowd pleasing sillage. I will also note, before I leave you: both Nina and Bella layer beautifully with contrasting scents. For instance, earlier today, I paired Bella with Euphoria Amber Gold, and the result was gorgeous, and has thus far outlasted me through the day. Tonight, I combined little miss Nina, with Exotic Essence, and it feels lovely and warm, as if it could easily generate its own heat. I am pleasantly surprised by the nature of Nina's collection, and while they are delicious in summer's heat, they become wonderfully assertive in winter's chill. And as I said with Bella, even when you are not wearing these, they are still quite stunning to look at.

gpaisley

NINA is a very pretty, feminine, perfume that reminds me of a lighter version of Carolina Herrera - 212 NYC.
Also, NINA has a touch of a caramel apple type scent that adds a gourmand aspect to fragrance. Thus, to my nose, NINA smells like a light version of 212 NYC with a hint of caramel apple in the background.

Cataddicted

Smells very much like one of those very sweet candied apple, often sold at school events or apple farms, ect. It smells very much like a very sweet, very flavourful apple. You can also smell the lemon and the other fruity scents, but I like the fact that more than anything, the can smell the candy apple scent, and the bottle elaborates just what it is meant to smell like... Apples! It smells very nice, but it fades quickly on me, wish it lasted longer, but I really like the smell when it’s on :)

cherrygalore

This is a review for the EDT.

The first notes I got was a citrus soap smell, which is actually very pretty and not a typical 'soap' scent. I'd describe this perfume as 'powdery aquatic'.

It has this soft and pleasant base, reminiscent of a makeup powder like substance which I think adds a vintage charm. On top I can definitely notice the sweet lemon and lime, which makes this fragrance lively and fresh. I think the 'soap' smell I'm getting is from the powder and fruit scents combined nicely together.

Nina isn't cloying, and it smells young and dainty. You can definitely wear this at all times, summer or winter (but I think it would be best for a Spring day/night).

It's a simple fragrance, but it has a lot to offer. If there were a woodland enchantress dipping her toes into a small green lake, this is what she would be wearing.

lubna.oweisat

This is my first perfume.. I think that it is suitable for all seasons . It is beautiful and can't get heavy or annoying even if you spray it ten times. I love it ❣️.

BerryRose

I was an undergrad when this perfume came out and I was absolutely charmed by it. I loved the fairy tale like bottle design and the advertising campaign suited my romantic, feminine style.

This is one of those pretty, sweet perfumes that is marketed to teenagers. The majority of fragrances in this category are awful, but this one is genuinely good, and better than many perfumes that market themselves as being far more sophisticated. I picked up a new bottle this autumn not for sentimental purposes, but because I love wearing perfumes with apple notes in the fall. This is lovely to wear and what I reach for when I want something pretty and feminine.

I’m very particular about gourmand fragrances, there are only a handful that I like, and this is the only floral gourmand in my collection. Nina is the absolute limit of how sweet I can go with perfumery. The bottle is a bit twee compared to others in my collection now but I love it. This perfume makes me think of a slice of cake with lemon frosting and edible flowers on it. Imagine a slice of cake that is so pretty you want to take a picture of it before you eat it.

Naamiflower

Nina takes me back. It was one of the first perfumes I’ve ever found myself interested in. So when I saw images of the iconic bottle, I knew I had to have it.

Much like an apple, Nina is crisp and fresh at first. Then, the sweetness kicks in. It’s a lovely soft feminine fragrance that will have you smile each time you smell it.

Nancy83

It's a sweetened apple soft floral scent, then woodsy floral, I don't dislike it, but it lacks of something I crave. I don't think it smells like bubblegum or the sweet candy apple I wish it would have been. I wrist test it at the drugstore, with only 1 spray I would say the perfume performance is poor, the sillage was very soft right at the start. Safe and fresh, but it's a pass for me.

katia31

I love this lively and uplifting scent.

mevans

This is a lovely summer fragrance. It's sweet but the green apple and citrus keep it light and fresh. There's just a little background floral and musk. I had a tester of Nina and Luna and I bought the latter because I like that heavier sweetness and I felt it was an all year type gourmand. However, I put this on my wishlist because it's quite nice for the hotter months.

temo

Woodsy and fresh. If this is “aimed at a younger audience” as stated above, it missed the mark with me. I’m not young but I find Nina to be a great fragrance. Does not seem young or sugary to me at all and I hope to be enjoying it’s wonderful cedar dry down well into my old age. A burst of initial sweetness, but in the end it is a good balance of sweetness with cedary musk.

HannahW

On me, it's just wood. Straight pine wood forests. But I love it, very flirty but fresh.

HannahW

On me, it's just wood. Straight pine wood forests. But I love it, very flirty but fresh.

LucieFR

I love this fragrance but could'nt wear it because I was bullied by a girl who wore it at the time, so it reminded me of her haha.

This perfume was so popular when it came out, every girl had it... that's the problem with good fragrance ;)

fyetan

Sweet, fresh apple. Starts with a lively burst of citrus. Never cloying. I'm on my second large bottle and this is just lovely, suitable for all occasions.

Praline comes out around the middle (30 min to 2 hours) and then it's a sweet citrus musk as skin scent after.

Seducianne

I am wondering if this could be a masterpiece. It’s fresh, tart and sweet at the same time. It’s lovely and sexy at the same time too. It’s easy, but not boring. For me, it has the X factor that makes me wanna sniff it all the time, and that is not because it’s so hard to decipher, but because it’s so uplifting and charming, and it makes me feel happy and carefree. It’s so affordable too. So I’m really wondering if this could be considered a jackpot in perfumery, just ticking so many boxes with a single product. This comes from a lover or larger-than-life perfumes such as Chanel 5/Coco, Shalimar, Samsara, Bal a Versailles and the like. So it’s quite an unusual thing for me to say, because I usually don’t gravitate towards this kind of “weightless” perfumes, but this is really really pretty.
I could do with a slightly more potent sillage though.

Dame123456789

i love it, it's the only perfume that makes me happy when wearing it

KittyDeBeauvoir

Why I EVER stopped wearing this perfume is beyond me!

I wore this with such dedicated regularity about 7 years ago because I was obsessed with the GORGEOUS sweet, pretty red apple scent. Seriously, this is next level. I figure it must be the praline bringing all that sexy back, but this never smells chocolaty. It's a perfect, juicy, gentle, girly, flirty - yet STILL office-appropriate - scent!

I got a sample again just yesterday and - OH BOY - I am buying a full bottle as soon as humanly possible. That rubbish "DKNY Be Delicious" range? Throw it in the bin.

The lemon in the opening is never harsh or acidic. It brings a *very gentle* zest, and stops this perfume from being cloying. Because ...it IS sweet. But not a cloying, immature sugar-explosion. It's eyes-roll-back-in-your-head sweetly intoxicating! Thanks to peony, apple blossom, cedar, and musk for supporting the star of the show here.

As a side note: This is 100% red apple. Don't be fooled by that green apple picture. Granny Smith apples belong in pies, not perfumes.
PIES, NOT PERFUMES!
.. But I digress.

The sillage is amazeballs. I've *literally* had someone I work with leap on me after I confirmed that I was wearing this.
Leaping. Onto. My back. With growling.

Not all your favourite perfumes have to be high-range designer or niche fragrances. As long as they bring you a true element of JOY; they're worthy.

Kitty rating: 10/10 (Yes. Just yes.)

Herkellys

I blind bought this because I was really hoping to find a sweet apple fragrance. I don’t know if I received a bad batch or if my skin did not react well to the scent but something in this perfume smelled a bit like decay? I know jasmine tends to smell like decay to me but I don’t see jasmine listed in the notes. After it sat on my skin for a while the decay scent left but I don’t get much apple in the scent. It is a sweet floral but seems a bit more mature for my personal taste. It seems to last a while and like I said, once it settled on my skin the odd smell went away. I won’t buy again for myself. I might try to see if someone else might enjoy my bottle. The bottle itself is so beautiful.

Jenna0310

This is my Husbands favorite of all time scents on me. It is a sweet apple/praline scent that is so delicious. It is a summer fragrance and it has good longevity. It would also be a good one to spray on at night before bed because it is a feminine sweet smell like those Victoria's secret sprays. I just bought a backup bottle because it is so delicious !

Lullabyscent91

This is sweeter apple perfume version compare to DKNY Be Delicious..Be Delicious is somewhat fresh and clean but this more towards flirty sweet apple scent..i do enjoy it but i never finish wear whole bottle and dunno where the bottle went😂.

lttlgrl

Bright, pretty, happy scent. Smells like granny smith apples and lemonade. Very fresh and inoffensive, it's perfect for a younger girl.

hellogoddag

Appropriate balance of red sweetness and green apple dryness.
Very feminine and attractive

mintycharm

This is summertime wonder in a bottle. It begins as sparkling lemonade with a splash of green apple and iced tea. The florals edge in gracefully, and I get the sense of eating a freshly sliced green apple in a sunny garden, vanilla candles burning around. Final dry-down is rounded out with a delicate musk and greenery, reminiscent of a freshly trimmed hedge, fruit buds and lightly powdered pastry. Not too long-lasting but fresh throughout, airy, unoffensive and perfect for warm weather. Very crisp and juicy!

ShinningLightOfThunder

Gorgeous scent! Sweet but fresh, so it can satisfy the sweet cravings and be not too overpowering for stricter work places.

rainfairy

I miss the EDP version which I purchased when it first came out. The juice was darker and the bottle was dark red. The scent lasted for a long time even with just one spray. I only used it on special occassions bec it was a beautiful sweet sophisticated classy scent. I was sad when it ran out. I couldn’t find it in Macy’s anymore but I found it at Fragrancenet. When I purchased it, I was wondering why the juice color is like water and the scent is lighter. I thought maybe its not authentic, so I stopped using it. I really wanted to love this but I don’t. Its not the same. The Nina perfume that I first bought was an EDP. The only way for me to wear this is if I layer it with something else.

food.is_life

It's a sweeter, lighter (if that's even possible) Light Blue for the first 2 minutes, then it becomes the type of scent that results from mixing shower gel, body lotion and fabric softener. I know every brand uses aroma chemicals, but Nina Ricci should really try mixing in some aromas with their chemicals for a change.

Sirila

The apple could have been so nice and fresh, I could have loved this fragrance but unfortunately there is something cold and sharp about it that quickly gives me a migrane and makes me feel ashamed for the smell when wearing it around others. I wonder if it's the musc since most of the scents that I find migrane inducing seem to contain musc, still investigating. This is one of my most annoying scents to wear, my husband dislikes it more than I though. I have only tried it during winter, I need to find out if it's nicer during spring.

sova.1

This was the first perfume I've used consistently in high school, I think I've had like three or four bottles total. Very bright, sweet and "girly" perfume, totally appropriate for my age at the time. Now I prefer heavier perfumes, but this one still sparks some memories.

boutique1

Its first impression was girly when I tested it on a paper, and just like many others say, I agreed that it smells like candy. But this scent has very subtle shade in it if sprayed daily. The sweet gourmand dry down leaves like skin scent, and then makes lots of chemistry with your body. It can become very feminine, matured or sexy, not just staying in one status about girlish. It is interesting scent, making the moment enjoyable whenever wearing it.

Shan101beauty

Smells so good. Very girly and sweet. Apple lemon flavoured candy.

colorfulmess

This is a nice, modern floral woody musk. Both sweet and sour, a perfect mix. Has a bit of a hair product vibe, but that's probably because hair products are smelling more like nice perfumes lately. I can catch the cedar, musk, and apple. However this isn't a pure representation of an apple, more like "rose water" but with apples. Apple water. If that makes sense. Reminds me of the Untold Elizabeth Arden line, particularly Eau Legere which has the green apple.

skeletoff

Love at first scent...but then it devolves into a raging headache and nausea. Too strong, even with one spritz.

Emiliesd

I tested this in store and it's a lovely scent. It reminds me of my teenage years as that's when the adverts were always on TV and everyone was wearing this perfume. I used to own nina l'elixir which is more of a clean citrus and berry musk, but this is sweeter, softer and more girly because of the praline and apple notes. I asked my boyfriend what he thought of it without telling him what it was, and he immediately said it reminds him of a body spray that all the girls used to wear when he was at school by BU. The comparisons to BU Rockmantic must be accurate. Although this is nice and the bottle is gorgeous, I won't be buying a bottle as I feel I've outgrown it and if I do want to relive my teenage years I can buy the BU spray for 1/3 of the price.

NessS

Lovely at first - fruity and fresh but then it turns for me into something unpleasant but I can’t put my finger on what. Maybe too musky?

Meels

Wow - it's a bit too strong for me. Something is too strident and cloying. Shame, because it was at a great price-point!

Catsylvania

Nina was my first ever perfume that my parents gifted me. I remember being 12 when it launched and how original and adorable the bottle looked to me. The scent was delicate and memorable, a perfect fit for a young teenager.

I was excited to test it again a few days ago, and even more excited when Nina passed the test to upgrade to a more "grown up" perfume and join my collection once again.

This is a perfect scent for a casual day at the coffee shop or for a movie night out with friends when you'd like to wear something cute but might not have much time to think.

As I'm not a fan of citruses, I was happy that the citrus notes were more than subtle, masked by an apple-chocolate tandem, which didn't end up sounding monotone sweet but rather, fresh and cheerful. The silage and longevity aren't really the strongest sides of Nina but I think I can forgive her because that scent isn't really meant to be the one with a powerful trail or immense longevity. It's a cute and adorable everyday perfume.

turkishgirl

juicy red apple and a little bit of chocolate i am in love! :)

elmccullar

Starts off fruity and sweet with a bit of citrus, changes to a fruity with a tiny hint of spice, dries down to a pretty, feminine, fruity and slightly sweet scent. I just love it! I don't smell caramel at all...just a pretty, sweet fruity floral.

liverpudlian78

I don't like the caramel overlapping floral notes of this scent. It's a bit cloying and synthetic to my nose.

Edit (25.03.19): Okay, I always rush to review scents and should give them more chances. At first, up close, this is a bit synthetic and cloying. However, after a few minutes it's not too bad. Nice even. It doesn't seem to gel at first but after a while I 'get it' and it's actually quite enjoyable. It smells sweet and fresh at the same time.
Only thing is, it is not long lasting. I like the bottle so it may be one I pick up if I see it somewhere.

Princ3sslove

Why I've got headache.. disappointed. Just very delicate at the drydown. Should I sniff after spray it 3-4 hours before?

gtabasso

very odd with lots of lemon/citrus in the top and peony then an odd note of apple and praline; not really gourmand but the sweet fighting with the sharp

ANNAFRYS

Fresh, energizes perfume I love it. Gives me power on my pms ... live life colorfully.. thats should be the name of that fragrance...

Its a scent of strong woman. One day she is with her jeans... her curly hair...another time she seductive manager with fresh and strong characteristic

Janney

A glorious perfume! For me, it sorta screams, “Sugar, spice, and everything nice!” without it being offensive at all!

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers. When wearing Nina, I get the aroma of peonies and caramelized apples on me! The rundown becomes just white cedar in the end, which I find interesting! I had Nina L’Eau as well. While L’Eau is lovely, it isn’t as crisp as the original Nina. Nina has some vanilla twists here and there (at least what I feel), which draws me to like this one more.

9/10!

stephdray

This is a nice scent that I enjoy. Sweet, feminine, inoffensive. It's actually quite distinctive, too, in the blend of it I think. But it stays close to my skin and didn't have as much longevity as I would like.

Rose du soir

Fresh, juicy, watery green apple with lemon and peony. It's sweet but with moderation, it does have some light caramel notes but the apple stays very fresh and even kind of cool thanks to the lemon's sour touch. It's a pretty and innocent fragrance meant for Spring that can also be worn in Summer. Sadly it's barely more than a skin scent on me, but when sprayed on clothes, it has decent sillage and longevity. On fabric, the lemon note is stronger, makes the fragrance more sour and gives it a bit more maturity and character. I like it !

Konga5000

Poor, poor longevity. Like a body spray. Sad.

LillaMymlan

To me this smells exactly like granny smith apples - in the beginning. When it settles after a while it turns more into an apple scented candle. I wish that this stayed more true to the sour apple type of smell, like in the opening. This fragrance is still likable, but it’s not a love.

SandraXX

I am usually not a fan of very sweet perfumes and never been. But there was a time in my life when I met women smelling sweet and smokey in such a classy way, that I needed to know what is that. Nina, was their short answer. Therefore I got it and wore for some time.

The first spray hits you with citrus and sweet apple. Then it becomes soft classy floral with smokey cedar in the base. Nina Ricci is reputable brand and it never delivers cheap stuff. You can tell the perfume is made for a lady that enjoys fruity scents but wants something more chic.

shusha

I thought it was kind of unremarkable, likeable, but somewhat generic. It really does not project much at all and longevity is about 4h, 5h if you count very close to the skin. It is all about green apple, which turns fairly musky toward the end. It opens quite strongly and just a touch synthetic, but this stage only lasts a few minutes. After the initial stage it's a very pleasant scent, but green apples tend to make everything else on my skin go sour. Although, to be fair, when the musk kicks in it gets much better, but by then it's quite close to the skin. Despite the sourness, it is pretty fresh and I do wish it was stronger and lasted longer.

missviv

I adore this fragrance but am really disappointed in the longevity. It doesn't last more than an hour on me. Considering spraying on my clothing for a longer lasting scent.

SaraX

To me there is spices and musk in this one, especially on the drydown, and I don't like the combination this is made of.

Still: an easy scent to wear and very inoffensive. But also very forgettable to me.

Charess

Fresh, citrussy, just like the smell of Granny Smith apples. I don't think this is suitable for a perfume, since I find it quite acidic smelling.

A lot of green apple with sweet praline, citrus and in the drydown some peony and musk appear.

Sillage is moderate, longevity is about 5-7 hours.

kiraagold

A virgin Apple-tini served at a debutante cotillion.

A twist of lemon peel, green Jolly Rancher syrup, some cream soda.
And the breath of what I want to think is apple blossom, but is probably some kind of synthetic lily. (It works, though, like that bit of spandex in the silk knit shirt that would be shapeless without it.)
Sweet white musk on the bottom, the way the paper smells after you've poured all the sugar out of the three pound bag.

Mbrock

Very pretty scent. Its mostly musky floral on me with a touch of something tangy, maybe the lemon. It does smell exactly like Jessica Simpsons Vintage Bloom, Which I own & love. They are so much a like I dont feel like I need both so I will stick to Vintage Bloom which you can get for like $10.

Floffles

I love the bottle. Very adorable.

Not a fan of the perfume inside it. In all truth, it smells like a box of the Ludens Wild Cherry cough drops, in the white and black box. That had all melted together in my pocket on a hot summer day. I ate them as candy because it was not a strong cough drop, more resemblance to a mild candy.

summerstar415

This scent reminds me of my youth since I wore it through middle school and high school. With my untrained nose, at the time, it smelled like orange popsicles.

Alisaaa131

I first saw Nina at an airport and thinking that it's the most beautiful bottle I've ever seen. They didn't have testers so I never smelled it but I wanted it since I was 13 years old.
By the time I was 18 or 19 I completely forgot it existed and my mom surprised me for my birthday of a bottle of Nina which I'd still never smelled but loved.
I got a lot of fresh lemons and apples and the dry down was a soft praline which does have a candy apple thing to it.
This just smells like being carefree and happy, I'd spray this every 3 hours because the longevity isn't great I wish there was an EDP of this.
It was my signature scent for a few years and I had always got guys asking me "who smells good?" and "what is that? No, tell me, I want to buy it for someone".
This can't possibly offend anyone, it's like Clinique Happy in the way it just makes you smile!
I'm now almost 25 years old and I just repurchased a bottle of Nina, it smells exactly how I remember it; sweet but fresh, girly but not juvenile, cheerful but not obnoxiously so.

Morticiamonroe

The bottle is lovely. I was expecting someting very sweet and floral, but on my skin it turns woody:/ I gave it to my mom and on her it smells very sweet and a bit of citrusy.

ellathgirw

I certainly smell the praline note, I would definitely agree that this is caramalized apples! Reminds me of toffee apples you would buy at the fairground. A sparkling gourmand fragrance, I would personally say aimed at a younger audience. This lasts a very long time on me, which I was surprised by. Honestly, I would buy it just for the gorgeous, gorgeous bottle.

Selena

This I had on my want list a while back, but never got around to buying it.. And I don't know why, up until my partner took me shopping to choose a perfume, and I thought why not grab this one. He asked me twice if I really wanted it, and I said yes, it wasn't too expensive, so I thought I'll give it a go. He bought it, and back then it was summer/spring, I didn't wear it much, but that night we went back to his place and he wanted me to open it right away lol. I did and sprayed my arm twice I thought 'sweet lemon apple bomb' he didn't say much but "mmmm not bad"..
Guess it wasn't wham-bam enough for him, like pink sugar was ;)
Now it's winter, and I'm home tonight I took this out and sprayed it, WOW it's so much more sweeter, I get praline & apple. It's been 2 hours since I sprayed away, still going strong!
I'll try and wear it once I see him to see what he has to say this time. I'm sure he's going to love it!! Fingers crossed.

katrienlejeune

Almost every girl in my high school back in 2007-2008. It is a very youthful but not childish scent. It lasts long but has a very mild sillage. I remember the distinct fruity tones of it, but not much else. It is a very inoffensive perfume that will work for a broad range of ages and professions. A lovely everyday scent!

jg2758

I get red caramel apple too.

The drydown on this scent is still my favorite. The initial apple scent is too young and gourmand for me, but the drydown is a lovely mix of apple and.... Warmth. I have no other way to describe it. It doesn't smell like cooked apples; it smells like beautiful warm skin wearing a faint perfume.

My boyfriend thinks it's ok: not a scrubber, but nothing worth commenting on. But for me, it's still the scent that glues my nose to my wrist.

rihabi

Is it only me that detects RED caramelyzed apple? nothing overly citrusy and sharp, great. The dry down is woody and sort of smokey. Gets better in time and I love it.

mykabering

The peony, apple, citrus, and musk gives off a strong 'green apple shampoo' vibe, which I truly enjoy. The praline note is sweet enough to remind me of country fair food. Girly, super sweet, childish, and summery. I know a lot of people don't like this, but I find myself loving it against my better judgement.

Amac24

I remember smelling the Sample in the magazine when this first came out I remember how good it smelled a lot like citrus and apples and well a little floral I remember how much I loved it.. Recently I purchased a bottle of this it is nothing like I remember.. It's lime/spice/fruit/ woody... Smells very similar to Bath & Body Works Secret Wondetland that's the one I found VERY close in comparison to.. also the drydown has been done in soo many fragrances such as Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture.. Also reminds me of Play it Spicy by Playboy, Wonderstuck by Taylor Swift and Beyoncé's Heat Rush.. Soo ordinary, a little sweet and cheap smelling:/ I was hoping it was going to be what I remembered it was but unfortunately not "sigh" oh well.. at least the bottle is cute/pretty looks good in my collection so I will keep it and use it until it is gone but I will most likely not buy this again.

loonad

This is my second bottle of Nina and I love it. It brings back tons of memories from back in 2012. I love it better this time around and I will surely repurchase after this bottle is over.

Cassiano

It may not have been the first of its kind, but it was undoubtedly the most iconic of the floral-fruity fragrances of an era that was already globalized. At the time, girls around the age of 14 to 17 only talked about this perfume and Nina Ricci's famous apple reached very high sales numbers, competing with other apples, those of the Donna Karan brand.

The concept was to bring back Nina's youthful years, the unconcern of a tender age, her delights and dreams. The bottle came in the shape of an apple, the forbidden fruit, the representation between innocence and sin. And the metallic finishing with three silver leaves is of extreme good taste.

Nina is that kind of sweet scent, which is not so sweet. It's understandable? No? I'll try to explain.
The official composition quotes head notes of Calabrian lemon and green lime. Then, a body designed to remember a candied apple, combining notes of apple, praline, vanilla and gardenia (not peony). Finally, a slightly woody base, with cedar, applewood and musk.

On the skin, the result ends up being a fruity and acidic fragrance, at the same time sweet and sugary. It smells like an apple caipirinha prepared with care, having pieces of apple macerated in a lot of sugar, being poured on the skin. Then, as time goes by, the heart brings a fruity nuance of apple that is far from being cloying (which, in my opinion, is the best feature of the fragrance). It is here that lives most of the complaints of some users, who hoped to find a literal translation of the candied apple – caramelized and gourmand –, but just met a green and succulent apple.

In the end, the base just ends with the fun and does not present any novelty or surprising facet. We have a slightly woody side, in which the cedar merges to the musk and gives a daytime feeling to the creation. But the best part of Nina is its output and the initial evolution. For this reason, it is worth to reapply every four or five hours, just to feel all over again. But take it easy, because the fragrance exudes with firmness and has good durability.

demhayerawsah

I wore this at 16 and it smells like a teenaged girl. It is fun, sweet, pleasant and I'm guessing "drives guys wild".
The bottle is charming, I always liked it.

Would I wear it again? No.
Would I buy it for a young girl? Definitly.

This is a perfume that brings to mind summer days, hours of getting ready with friends as well as the exploration of scents, style, make up etc.

Although it is fun, flirty, caramel apple-ish, it DOES NOT have the headache inducing thing found in DKNY's Be Delicious (all of them). I recall it also being long-lasting on my skin.
Would not recommend it for anyone over 21.

AntigoneAscending

I start by saying I love the look of the bottle (and those of her list of flankers). It is so charming and adorable. It brings to mind a delectable fruity juice, but that is a misdirection.
The smell is not unpleasant, but it is, all at once, sharp, tart and herbal. It's certainly interesting and I keep smelling the back of my hand waiting for the sweetness of the pralines and some soft musk to tone down other notes. So far, they haven't made an appearance.
To say I was expecting more from this is an understatement. It is a well known and popularly discussed here and on other sites. I'll keep trying to see if maybe Nina and I just more need time to get to know each other. Until then, I find her lovely to look upon, if not to wear.
Maybe I should look into one of the flankers to find whatever it is I thought this was going to be.....

VioletScented

On my skin, all I get is citrus, wood, and musk. I wish that I got more toffee and apple...This was sadly the most disappointing blind buy and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a candy apple fragrance, or buying based on the voted notes.

NinaLew

People keep buying me this because of my name - how do I stop them???? This juice is cheap and nasty and smells like burnt apple skin and hotel soap. It is also impossible to scrub. I've been using one of my many bottles as bathroom freshener, but it's almost too yuck for that job.

libbyanne

This really reminds me of SJP NYC!

Lila_Hill

I bought a 10 ml refillable perfume spray bottle at the perfume counter and the gal filled it with Nina. I immediately went out and bought a 50 ml bottle.

This is a magical concoction that was my signature fragrance for a couple of summers and the bottle is a beautiful ornament. I will repurchase the first chance I get. Delightful.

EmmaRodeo

Nina is the perfume I would take on an imaginary trip to Paris. On an actual trip, I would take a perfume more
suited to the energetic expenditure required of travel. When I am balancing the enchanting strangeness of a foreign
culture with the mundane tasks of arranging for lodgings, transportation, keeping track of my belongings and my time,
I would want a more solid heeled fragrant companion, one such as Terre d'Hermes or Interlude Man. Admittedly, these friends would lend two completely different experiences, but both share a grounded, substantial nature well suited to the exertion of navigating unfamiliar terrain.

Nina, on the other hand has no elements that touch reality. The bottle design lends itself to this impression as well, a transparent light red apple with a delightfully unrealistic silver sculpture of stem and leaf. This is not the sinister apple of Dior Poison or the campy fruit of the Lolitas, but rather a fairytale princess rendition to compliment a lovely reverie. Upon first spritz, I immediately get the image of walking through a bubble, shimmering, rainbow hues glinting off it's surface, into a world impossible but arresting. It's a world in which I wouldn't want to live, but am gratified to visit from time to time. Nina's airy fruits, ethereal flowers and wood vapors, stretch the imagination; she offers the kind of olfactory celebration that a 50s musical supplies to the visual and auditory senses. In the Paris of my invention, it is a village set in "Singing in the Rain", highly stylized and meant to soothe the watcher's hard bitten life, post World War II.

The surroundings are artificial and glossy, but an incontrovertible treat for the eyes. As such, this Paris and Nina offer respite and a muscular hope for the human constant reach for the fantastic, the incredible...those elements essential for the art of beauty.

I too got the opportunity to try this at an airport as well as the EDT version which I cannot find listed on Fragrantica. They were about 95% the same exact thing scent-wise, except that the EDT was about 15-20% lighter in power, about 50% lighter in sillage and airier and disappeared faster too. 7 hours later, this one, the EDP, is still going strong (though lighter) but the EDT arm feels like there's nothing there, maybe a hint of musky sweetness.

Anyway, WOW, this smells like liquid candy! But don't think like a green apple Jolly Rancher you can buy from the drug store. This is more of an organic, 'hand-made in small batches with only all natural ingredients' candy. Like candy that has been made for Marie Antoinette. This is as fancy and sophisticated that "flavored sugar" can get.

If I had to compare it to other candy perfumes like Prada Candy, V&R Bonbon, Lancome LVEB etc, I think this one would be a bit shriekier (but not in a bad way) at least in the opening (mellows out in 20-30 minutes in 70 degree weather.) But I feel like this is way more nuanced too. Whereas with Bonbon, for example, I mainly get peach flavored caramel candy, with Nina it's more of a colorful candy shop where the scent morphs as you walk around browsing all the sweets.

I'll be honest, my 1st thought was 'The coolest 13 year old in middle school would rock this,' (and the 11 year old sister can rock the EDT) but I do think those of us who have a thing for gourmands and candy inspired perfume could rock this with pride too, there really is a sophisticated and adult quality to this that reminds me of Prada Candy Florale, I don't have the vocabulary to express why. But anyway like I said, the EDT is also an option, especially if you have to live or work around people who just don't get it when it comes to perfume that isn't Chanel #5 or similarly popular enough that 'A lot of people like it, so...' can manage to shut them up and admit they are out of their element.

Also, the song 'Candy Shop' by rapper 50 Cent got stuck in my head while writing this. The song really fits the scent.

SailorV

I think I tried Nina when it was new and wasn't too impressed. Then it vanished from most stores here and I finally tried it again at the airport, over 10 years later.

I'm still not impressed, but it's nice. I smell apple and citrus notes with some creamy warmth, also light woody notes. Praline doesn't really come through on my skin.
It's a fruity scent that balances fresh and sweet nicely.
The drydown is a bit more gourmandy sweet and woody with hints of apple. The clean creamyness sometimes becomes a bit shampoo-ish. Might be the combo of white musk, peony and green apple which are all notes that can go in a shower/laundry product direction for my nose.
It's a perfectly safe everyday scent, just not my thing. Maybe I would have liked a little more praline in the drydown and less clean freshness.

LittleParfumista

I first got this as a gift from my dad about 10 years ago. And it stuck to me ever since. Has been my signature for almost 3 years until I got bored, but I still always have a back up bottle in my dresser. Just because I really do crave it occasionally.

I don't get any citrus whatsoever. On me it is pure sweet red apple, apple blossom and praline. Nothing else sticks out, well maybe the sweet datura a little bit.

This is young, but not juvenile or teen. Sweet and confident, a little spicy. I would say even quirky. A very warm, sweet and fun. Like apple punch. For me definitely a fall/winter day time fragrance. Lovely!

muahah

At first it was more as elegant woman who knows what she want, but not in aggressive way (well mostly). But soon it became more as young woman even teen perfume. This still is daring perfume for outgoing girl. There is some interesting sweet spiciness. Quite synthetic, but good quality. Color of this scent is as bottle - transparent red that blends to pink and cool silver. It's rather cool than warm. It's romantic, watery, delicious. Apple, peony, sugary and in background citrus, cedar, fruits, musk and bit floral.
I never really cared for Twilight movies and I'm not sure what scents I associate with it, but for me seems that some teenager girl who loves these movies would be happy about this perfume. Vampires and luna are cool, blood red and bit spicy. There is simple and young woman, she must be strong, she tries to be more than possible, more than she is. All that is enveloped in lots of romantic sweetness. Even apple theme goes with fairy tale, fantasy.

jr

This "Candied Apple" has a "WORM" (snake) hidden inside.

I purchased Nina by Nina Ricci for Summer 2017 wear as it appears to be a joyful candied apple, but after further research into the fragrance and before opening the box, I have decided to return this fragrance back to the store.

First, one reason for my decision is the marketing for this scent as can be seen on youtube. The official corporate marketing represents Nina to be the "Apple of Eve" as written about in the Book of Genesis and thus representing sin? No thank you!

Second, there is a middle note mentioned here that is called "datura" or sometimes called "moonflower" that is known to be poisonous and used to cause states of trance?! Again, No thank you! There is/was even an article here on the Fragrantica site, perhaps under the note "datura" siting it's use in voodoo type ceremonies. Wikipedia states datura or moonflower use along with mandrakes in similar chemical composition and it's effects on the brain.

Not too sure if I want this around my loved ones as to put it bluntly, it is coming across as WITCHES BREW?! Therefore, hi ho, hi ho, it's back to the store you go!

katemax

This is delicious! My mum has the body lotion and it's is heavenly... stronger lemony opening than the edp. I love the edp also.. sweet, citrus gourmand. Gorgeous

comptemooc

The worst perfume ever..at least for me.

Roxanne25

Lime is the first note that hits your nose, then green apple comes in and in just a blink of an eye the freshness of the citrusy opening turns into gourmand sweetness, but the apple note remains - this time caramelized apple.
Youthfull scent, could be worn by teenagers, but there is something in it that makes it perfectly appropriate for more mature women who are young at heart and dare to use such joyfull, not so sophisticated perfumes.
I personally like it a lot, it picks me up in gray, cloudy spring days like today.
Longevity is not impressive, though.

Tussa

On me not so sweet as many others reviewed, which is good. If I get it as a present, I would use it, but never buy it. I find it just too ordinary.

sammyseven89

Okay this is a bit of a weird one for me. I went out to look for a Spring perfume today after doing a bit of research and Nina was on my list. I sprayed it on tester paper and the overwhelming smell that came to me was, I kid you not, burnt toast. I got rid of the tester paper so I have no idea what happens in the dry-down because to be honest, I always go with my instincts and I felt that Nina was a no-no.

I ended up with Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream which is lovely.

sherry.zayn.malique

Scents like no other....love it..kinda spicy..which is a good thing..fresh..sweet...lil bit floral....its perfect

Missisjoker

Ok, I am not sure if i got a fake fragrance or if it's just my nose, but i do not smell any citrus at all. To me it is a very sweet fruity smell with a tiny-bitsy hint of apples (and not the green apples, but more apple pie-ish smell) and a touch of fir/evergreen ,especially in the beginning. It is a lovely smell (and this comes from a person who does not like super sweet smells), but I would not call it fresh or airy.

Percoon

A lovely and freshly-sweet scent which could be almost too girly, but luckily the apple is not too sweet but crispy which comes together with the fresh lime and posh peony, giving a more edgy tone of the sweetness. I feel Spring, vivid sunshine and energy while wearing it.

anjezas

I've been using this perfume for about 10 years now and i keep buying it every time i run out of it, love this perfume and i think this lovely apple bottle with be always in my collection, usually i prefer it in spring even though i read in some reviews that is more for autumn or winter, anyway i'd recommend it to everyone that wants to use a perfume that makes you happy since in the morning

audreyt1984

Well... This gragrance is nice, that's for sure. I'd even say it is lovely. But it is not what I expected at all. If, like me, you think that Pink sugar by Aquolina is a real in-your-face gourmand, you won't think Nina is a gourmand. To my nose, it is more flowery/citrusy than real gourmand. I do smell the red apple, but no caramel and vanilla for me at all. Maybe it is a more mature gourmand? It is very pleasant though, fresh and strong at the same time. Sillage and longevity are incredible, you need to go slow on this juice. I used 2 spritz of it this morning and I have the feeling that everybody on my office floor can smell me. lol It is fun, flirty, in a more adult way, but, as I said, don't be fooled by the bottle and the notes, no candied apples there at all.

goughem

A really lovely youthful scent of apples.

pauroj

the bottle is cute and thatis it , it smells like mountain dew.

dglightblue

Sweet, fresh and airy.
Creamy
There's a familiar scent in there and I can't put my finger in it...
Good longevity for an edt

EDIT
thinking about this fragrance, I feel a more discriptive point might be that if you can imagine a custard- that type of creamy, but instead of a solid vanilla one, imagine apple in there as well.
The freshness is not of the crisp rest or green type, when I said airy, it's not like an air aquatic marine scent, it's just not chunky so to speak.
It is so smooth.
There are a lot of scents of this type, if you don't have any then this is great.

Poshie

This was the first perfume I ever bought. I don't like it anymore, I guess because my palate has changed, but it is a nice scent if you like fruityness and citrus. It is pretty simple to me and I have trouble distinguishing the notes when smelling it. I can only describe it as fresh, citrusy and fruity. Pretty much like the juice of a sweet apple.

rachellecunningham

Nina is one of my all-time favourite perfumes. I've loved it since I was a teenager, but never owned a bottle until last year when I received it as a gift from my mum. A gift set, actually, with a 50mL bottle, a rollerball, and a cute little pink two-tone apple-shaped purse.

It strikes a perfect balance between citrus, sweet, and floral. The citrus is never too sharp, the sweet is natural and never cloying, and the floral isn't overpowering. Nina is lighthearted, perfect during the daytime no matter the season. So fresh and green, I always want to be outdoors when I wear this. It's very feminine, which I love, without reeking of that cheap, sweet/plastic note that appears in so many fragrances aimed at young women.

Even if the scent isn't your cup of tea, the bottle itself is just too cute. It's definitely one I'll be keeping long after the juice is gone.

AC16

I used to love this scent! Sweet, fruity and pretty! Perfect scent for a young lady and her first perfume!

katia31

Nina is a Christmas in a bottle, since for me it is the most suitable perfume for Christmas and New Year.To me it smells like the mix of fresh tangerines and sweet Christmas candies and the perfume itself hits the right balance between freshness and sweetness. It's magic juice, just Loving it.

lailaclairefa

Nina is sophisticated fragrance for sweet sixteen or young clients. Anyone who represents confidence and charm.

Best during Autumn going to Winter. But for me it is not a winter scent. Monotonous during Spring. Too much for Summer.
However, when I went for swimming at the Beach last 2016 summer vacation. I thought I was the only one able to smell Nina during swimming. I was wrong. My relatives were able to smell something quite unusual and asked me about it. I will never forget their facial expression (of curiosity and thinking) during that time because it is something I did not expect since I have been swimming (soak) in a salty water for about an hour. And Nina was still on my skin especially at the back of my ears. On that moment I had received a lot of compliments. hehehehe

I like it.

Ana Pavao

Nina's like a bite of a sweet & sour apple that juices in your mouth. Can be worn at all times, mid season preferably. Moderate sillage and longevity, which you can prolongate if you apply a bit over your clothes.
The musky and ambery notes are very discreet but warm enough to hold the freshness of apples. It is sensual, but not vulgar, like a young lady who knows what she wants...

ReyMoe

Even if I don't like most of Nina Ricci perfumes (don't ask me why) This one was very different. I found it very elegant and warm. I don't agree with most of the reviewers who said that it is a fragrance for young and teenagers it was actually my mother's perfume and it smelled so soft on her ♥

jan24

True to description, Nina is super gourmand.. with fresh peonies and citrus fruits. It smells absolutely delicious, like candy, but I wouldn't want to be characterized by this fragrance.

I wore this for 3 years in my late teens and it worked very well for me at that age.

This is a wonderful perfume for a younger, innocent, and playful woman. Think of a girl who grew up on the family ranch.

Now in my early 20's, I went back for a sniff of this and it just doesn't sit with me anymore. I look for perfumes with more depth and warmer tones, especially moving into Fall and Winter.

dyaver

OK, this is just plain apple and praline to me. Since I don't like praline note in perfumes, I don't like this one. But if you like these types of sweet floral fruity gourmand fragrances (like la vie est belle or viva la juicy), go for it!

PrissyCurls

Delicious candy apple is what I'm detecting!!!! I don't feel any of the floral notes which is not a bad thing. I decided to wear something to take away the rainy blues I'm feeling today and this worked out perfectly.

Longevity on me is 6 hours so far and still going strong. I sprayed at 5pm this afternoon. So I would say longevity is pretty good.

Sillage is decent as well as I can smell it on myself and it smells DELICIOUS!!!

Update---- longevity is 12 hrs on me!

Topaz Taxco

This modern fruity gourmand fragrance is pleasantly complex. Rather than smelling like candy, like so many new fragrances do, Nina smells like your kitchen after you've baked an apple pie. The sweetness is tempered by a little caramelization. The spices aren't quite there, but you can almost smell the butter in the crust.

fuffilina

Judging first the girly red apple shaped bottle I was expecting this scent to be all sugar, no sass, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, there's a fruity apple citrus vibe to begin with, but what was unexpected and I really like is the deep earthy musk that keeps the fragrance earthed. It's a fun bottle with a grown up scent, a workerday favourite and a keeper for me.

umsultan

i used this perfume all the time when it was released. every time i wanted an uplifting scent i went to Nina. its fresh and feminine. not the typical apple scent you get from body splashes. no, nina is more profound and delicious. when i wear this i get compliments from girls and women alike. i still go back and repurchase. it lasts from 4 to 6 hours on skin and 24+ hours on clothes. strange thing is this perfume doesn't develop and changes much after spraying. but i liked it this way.

senalica

My experience with apple based fragrances so far hasn't been too optimistic - mostly they seem "too fresh", to a point when all I can think of when I smell them is an apple air freshener or apple dish soap. Not with Nina! The apple note in this fragrance is really tastefully done - it's strong enough that you can certainly detect it, but gentle enough to let the other notes show - the sweet flower note, the citrus and also the musky base. It is gentle, sweet and really beautiful.

glitchdoll

My first perfume. I don't wear it any more but I sometimes take a sniff when I see it in stores.

I love Nina and I am not in the target of 15 to 25 year olds. Even better , in Rio, one of the most prominent and capable policewomen (a Station chief no less) has as her signature Nina. Talk about not fitting the profile.
It is a fresh sweet apple plus cinnamon combo, good sillage and longevity varies greatly from mediocre to moderately good (5 to 7 hours) to really good (plus 9 hours). On me it lasts moderately good. Occasionally I wear UltraSexy, which resembles greatly Nina is cheaper and lasts 7 to 8 hours on me.

I've owned Nina for a few years now. I got this as a gift for my 18th birthday and have been wearing it almost everyday until a year ago. I found the bottle sitting on my shelf and randomly sprayed it and insta toy got a whiff of citrus such as lime or lemon, then it softly turned into a tart and ever so slightly sweet Apple type of scent. I know this is supposed to be a candy apple type of smell and on my body it's more of a sour apple with a dry down of something fresh but also sweet. Some may say this is a juvenile scent but I disagree, this is probably most enouyed but a younger crowd but I can picture 15-25 year olds wearing this. This is an easy everyday fresh scent for someone who's not into SUPER cloyingly vanilla sweet perfumes. I went through a phase of enjoying musky, heavy scents and although I'd enjoy it not everyone else around me would. So I e been wearing this for spring and summer and EVERY time I hug a guy I get a compliment from them saying I smell really nice and they always ask what perfume I wear (maybe they want to wear it too?) The only thing I dislike about this fragrance is the sillage and longevity. It's nonexistent after 2-3 hours since it's an EDT but I love it so much that I'll still repurchase!

Nina is soft and clean and sweet. But not sticky candy sweet. I'm aware of it but it's not one to enter a room before you. It's a nice everyday scent. It's not sexy nor sophisticated. Which is fine on the days I just want to smell pretty.

This reminds me of Escada's fragrances in that it's sweet and fruity, but lacking in strength and staying power. What makes it different from Escada's line is that it has a nice warmth to it for a while, but it isn't enough to give it that "wow" factor IMO. The bottle is pretty and different.

pink crystal apple, like a big sweet candy
Mmmm...delicious!

This is a very nice, cheerful, youthful, uplifting and optimistic sweet and sour perfume for little and older girls! It is just for you who want to feel young and carefree at the same time. A very nice inoffensive choice for casual/daytime wear in spring and summer!

Having a very difficult time reconciling the notes and reviews here to the product I purchased, which to me does not at all seem fun, girlish, or light and fruity. On my, it is a pleasing, mature fruit with spice scent. Actually reminiscent of Dame's Dark Horse.

This has been a long time favorite. When I first smelled it, I immediately thought: "Here is a perfume after my own heart". It is light and fresh and sweet but with a hint of sassiness to it. I like to wear flowing pastel colored dresses with ruffles and flowery details and this perfume compliments my outfits as much as it compliments my personality. It is feminine and girly but not the kind of girl that will nod her head yes to everything you say. This girl has some assertiveness to her. It's still festival and jovial and I find it great for every occasion. Sillage could be better though.

I really don't know how I feel about this. I remember trying it on a few years ago and it smelled like heaven. The most beautiful perfume I ever smelled. So I decided to buy it the previous summer and the first thought that came in mind was "meh". Definately not as poetic as I remembered. I honestly can't even tell the notes apart on this, it just smells like a cheap but kinda cute fruity-sweet scent, a bit juvenille with bad lasting power. It is discrete and not overpowering, and it's better to be worn on spring, fall or winter but not summer.
Also, cheap material for the bottle.

I think I tried on a bad batch in the mall yesterday and I had a sad experience. I was expecting a beautiful scent such as what is described here but it was far from what is written here. It was all bitter flower. No apples, praline etc. nothing. Just bitter powdery flower. I wanted to wash it off so much from my arm.

Tried this at Priceline yesterday and it smelled AWFUL on me!!! Like an unsweetened red apple chew candy but... chewed and spat out into an old Tupperware container. I know that sounds ridiculous but seriously, it was BAD. Even the salesgirl helping me agreed. A cheap, fake plastic apple. Sorry Nina. I'm sure you smell lovely on the right person.

I mean, it's nice and all, but... I just doesn't tickle me in the right way. The scent seems perfectly content with being an apply citrusy praline but my nose just doesn't love it.

Boy, I'm really going to miss this scent when I run out. I'm wearing this now, it smells like a beautiful bright and crisp spring morning! Nina by Nina Ricci reminds me of being on a laid-back and relaxing farm surrounded by various apple trees. The opening of this fragrance smells like tart granny smith apples and fresh lemonade... mmmm. I find that this scent doesn't last too long, on my skin that is. It fades into a fruity floral with peony and moonflower, shortly followed by praline and skin musk. This scent enchants me, inspires me to keep dreaming. I love everything about it from the top to the bottom, and the bottle is just the cutest little red apple! Very pretty. This will be a repurchase for sure, for years to come. Nina is best suited for spring and summer IMO, but it can work well in any season. Nina is like a breath of fresh air!

Scent: 8.5/10
Longevity: Poor, only 3 hours on my skin but lasts much longer on clothing.
Sillage: Soft
