Premier Jour by Nina Ricci is a Floral fragrance for women. Premier Jour was launched in 2001. Premier Jour was created by Sophie Labbe, Carlos Benaim and Rosendo Mateu. Top notes are Sweet Pea and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Gardenia and Orchid; base notes are Musk, Sandalwood, Woodsy Notes and Vanilla.

Premier Jour is the first day of the new year for Nina Ricci, and it announces the restitution of the original codes of this brand. The Premier Jour fragrance merges with the form of a woman, without any particular accentuation of itself. Its sensual scent is aimed at the body rather than thoughts. Optimistic mandarin and joyous sweet pea in alliance with gardenia give an intimate nuance to the sweet notes of the composition.

Delicate orchid, vanilla, and woodsy-musky base notes blend in a lingering, soft trace. The designers of this fragrance are Sophie Labbe and Carlos Benaim. It was launched in 2001.

Wore this many years back, and interestingly in winter -20. It was amazing how it zinged and behaved in cold weather. It was during my first love and I was no less than intoxicated by this. Such a special place in my heart.

Optimism in a bottle. From the name, Premier Jour (first day), to the bottle (one block on top of the other), to the soft peachy color and the bright vibrant scent everything conveys optimism.
Premier Jour opens with a glorious, zesty, sweet, mandarin-orange which lights up your face with a smile. I was surprised there were no orange blossoms, but it’s probably the well behaved gardenia from the heart giving this white floral effect. Surprisingly the gardenia doesn’t overpower the delicate cheerful sweet peas, it just lends a creaminess and a mild green edge, but the sweet peas are very distinct which is a good change in a floral designer perfume. The base is sweet, soft and smooth. The overall composition suits a polite, polished pure woman, dressed in white and beige, sleek hair and nude makeup. It’s very versatile on a spring/summer morning; you can wear it to office, to church, in hospital, or school, for a wedding day or to go shopping and it will still seem relevant. Adorable ☺️

Bitter sweet citrusy delight with green almonds and vanilla. Projection is not the best, but it lingers all day. It is delicate, demure and ethereal. I used to wear it at college 20 years ago. The flacon was made of frosty glass, if I am not mistaken, and the smell was far more bitter and far more almondy. Now it's more airy and green, but still lovely anyway. So because they stopped making my signature perfume (Narciso in white cube), which I had been using for almost 9 years, I had to swap. Great decision, I am 20 again :D

Edit: I've already been complemented on it!

Andy224

Soft & Sophisticated. Personally my signature European fragrance ever since the day I’ve purchased it there.

Every time I order the "mixed bag of samples" from a certain online retailer they send me this one, attached to a single serving sample of the matching lotion and the matching shower gel. So I have had several opportunities over the years to give myself the complete Premier Jour experience. I even had a full bottle for awhile, it was too sculptural looking to pass up.
The fragrance itself never grew on me, even with all those testings. I'll admit that I do have a tremendously hard time finding sweet pea notes that I like. Most times I find them headache inducingly screechy sweet. (Looking at you, Pleats Please and Carven Le Parfum) Premier Jour by Nina Ricci at least wins for being the least upsetting sweet pea I've encountered thus far. The mandarin note comes out very sour to me but it fades quickly. The majority of the wear is sweet pea tempered with a powdery, dusty gardenia note.
I'm sure this is perfect for a lot of people but it's one that feels too "good little church girl" for me personally. Pretty but ultimately lacking in interesting personality.

Gruhlanska96

I have a little journey with this one. Starting from totally hating it, then kinda accepting and liking it, now I think I start loving it.
Difficult ,need to try it in the different weather. It is more of a spring summery perfume definitely.
Elegant, clean and polish.
More appropriate for day time. Perfect for work.

Bubbles1964

Although Premier Jour was launched in 2001, I have only recently tried it.

On my skin, Premier Jour opens sharply but quickly transitions into a clean, sweet pea and musk scent. It’s refreshing but it also reminds me of a perfume that could easily be from the 1990s.

They share no listed notes, but L'eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake reminds me of this perfume’s style. With a much more robust note breakdown and leaning aquatic, L'eau d'Issey is a fresh and clean perfume, with soft projection and good performance. It was a popular feminine scent for a reason, and it reminds me of this scent I’m wearing today

It comes as no surprise that I really like Premier Jour for many of the reasons I liked L'eau d'issey in the 1990s; a clean, fresh, easy-to-wear, ultra feminine perfume. Sweet Pea is the star in this composition; it is linear and performs steady after the short, sharp and bright opening.

Premier Jour will probably be snubbed by niche purists, but I love how it hugs you all day in a soft pretty musk. Premier Jour is a mainstream success—the easiest reach. I adore it and now I own it.

jonbecca

This is pretty but so light I can barely smell it. Maybe I'll be more able to pick it up in summer but in spring I can barely even smell it.

KERS

Very feminine fragrance. But low longevity.

Clare101

This fragrance is a sweet floral while at the same time being unique with no sharp edges. I can smell the almonds, gardenia, sweet pea and woodsy notes In equal measure. A safe fragrance that can be worn everyday to work and is perfect for all seasons. I hope to God this isn't discontinued please!!!

KittyDeBeauvoir

Hullo Perfumites!

Let's get into Nina Ricci here this fine evening.

I love Nina Ricci as a general rule. I view them as a fragrance house that is vastly underrated. They have established themselves as a long-lasting company, and their perfumes are generally winners. From classic floral chypres (L'Air du Temps) that remain awesome today (Yes, I love it, and it was my father's favourite perfume on my teenage self!) to fruity bombs (Nina - red apple scent) to sexy-as-heck caramelised rose (L'Extase - and the whole range which I am low-key EXCITED to try any dang day)! Additionally, their perfumes are also very reasonably priced.

Now.
There are some disappointments.
I'm still not wild about "Ricci Ricci". A deeply mature woman scent that threatens to give me a headache, but I love the rhubarb element in it.
And unfortunately... this.

I was ready to LOVE this. Mandarin orange, sweet peas, musk, and sandalwood? Lord, where are my smelling salts?
Not here! I bought this because I had heard it was discontinued (I'm still not sure if this is absolutely correct). A previous review labelled this as 'lemony sweet peas with musk' - and they are correct. But I find it to be not quite as blissful as I hoped.

The lemony vibe I suspect it the mandarin orange (coz...citrus, yo) and - granted - it's fairly nice and gentle. The sweet peas surprise me. I love sweet peas. With their gentle, pretty, elegant, sweet aroma and gorgeous variety of colours. They will be planted in my English cottage that doesn't actually exist.

Not these suckers, though. These sweet peas are sharp! Not even green - just spicy and sharp. Although, this could be the musk. I submitted a review of "Chloe Love" where I was extremely disappointed in how "drug-store cheap" the musk was. I honestly feel it's the same here - really sharp, spicy, and... kinda low-quality. This perfume just feels like it scratches and clogs my throat. It's not delicate, gentle or sweet. These sweet peas are out for revenge from being picked from imaginary country bungalows.

I'm confused about the florals. It's meant to have gardenia and orchid, but... the florals in this are (hostile) sweet peas... and non-descript flowers. Usually, gardenia and orchid have fairly distinctive scents, so this troubles me, padawans.

The longevity is actually pretty good. I sprayed this about 4 hours ago, and it's definitely still there. The sillage is initially a bit much as that scratchy element feels like this gasses me with that sharp cloud. However, this does settle to a skin scent. It's been 4 hours, but I have to lift my arm to my nose to smell it. At this point, I'm wearing this to use it up because I lack the moral courage to sell it or throw it away.

Overall, not my jam and a disappointing effort from Nina Ricci (although I'll continue to sniff "L'Extase" happily and melt into a little KittyDeBeauvoir-shaped puddle).

Not repurchase-worthy.

Kitty rating: 4.5/10.
Hubby rating: 5/10 - "I can't really smell it that well. Mmmm, neutral. That's all."

Iris128

This is a very pleasant floral/citrusy everyday perfume. It is not offensive or overwhelming but it is one that has no real character either.I used to wear it a lot in uni when i wanted to blend and just smell nice so i have good memories by it and probably will come back to it.

BethyBee

This is a typical Nina Ricci fragrance...softly floral, fairly demure and very lovely. It's also hardly noticeable which is why I really overspray. I like this because there is nothing offensive about it. But I don't find myself reaching for it often. I like my fragrance a bit more noticeable, usually not a floral, my least favorite type of scent. . I'm drawn to this particular floral because it contains NO rose. The sweet pea carries it beautifully.

epona1705

I love this perfume. I can't put my finger on it, but it reminds me of something, like a happy memory or something. This is a great day-to-night fragrance. I am glad I ordered it!

CoffeeCup

Funny story, this used to be my near-signature scent some 8-9 years ago when I was a new mom. I even regretted that I hadn't chosen her to be my wedding perfume. Fast forward a decade and I can say that.. on paper (and in the past!) it was perfect. But in reality it comes across as a bit of a synthetic mess. Tries too hard to be "effortlesly chic" and streamlined. But we all know she definitely didn't wake up like this - she's wearing too much powder and blush, her curls are just tiny bit too tight, her bell sleeved blouse is made of polyester and very flowery, ah, and yes, nobody wakes up wearing spanx.

Well, the scent. Lemony sweet peas resting on musk. Pretty and feminine, floral, put together. But it's not my (personal) style anymore, too fussy. Thank you for the beautiful times and sweet memories we had together!

meliecat

Lovely, feminine, sweet but not overpowering, elegant - and somewhat common-ish. It's a scent so easy to love from the first moment to last - it's just no-nonsense prettiness! I smell it on me and I feel pretty, this is the proper description.. I think the secret is in orange blossom and sweet pea plus musk..Something tells me this perfume must be a real guy-magnet, I just think every single note is in the right place and it's not overcomplicated. Also it's easy to wear for any occasion, any season, which is a rare phenomenon in my world. Sillage and longevity are quite good, the bottle looks really cool, the only lowdown is the box- the 2 little flowers need not be there. But that's only a matter of design. The juice it contains is perfect. 10 out of 10.

mariaakanbi

I love this and I am very mature fragrance purchaser.
I love the old power smells but recently, I realised I was aging myself so decided to step back and I have to say... this was the perfect step in that direction.
The notes are complex. I've already said they remind me of youth, hormones, puberty and spring.
There's a lot going on but I also feel like there's a razor edge sharpness that underpins it all.
The florals are great but the woody accords is by far the best thing about this fragrance... it seeps out after about 30 mins and leaves a sweetness in the back of your throat, like a drop of wild honey but that white metallica or 'cleanliness' never leaves, turning into linen blowing in the breeze.
This is definitely something I wouldn't want to wear on its own unless it was springtime in an airy environment, not the city. Hopefully I can go on a boat ride in a few weeks and see how this smell fairs in the wind xx

EllaDe7

Premier Jour, the only Nina Ricci I love and use. Very pleasant scent for fall and winter but that is just my preference.
This is nothing like L'air teh Temps.
Premier Jour is refreshingly different from al Nina Ricci. Easy to wear, lasts well. It changes in time quite significant.
A must try, I would say.

Annemarie

All my perfume life I've favoured masculine-leaning or unisex fragrances (Chanel No 19 has been an on-and-off signature since the mid-80s). Yet perhaps because of that, I do sometimes succumb to the lure of a pretty, feminine floral and so, noticing a few comments that Premier Jour may be d/c, I snapped up a bottle online at a very good price. A blind buy.

I'm liking Premier Jour so far, but not loving it. The opening is bright and it feels as if there are some notes in there that clash. I get a damp melange of florals, nothing that I can isolate (noting that I can't remember what sweet pea smells like). The drydown is pleasant. I don't smell vanilla much but perhaps its there to provide subtle creaminess in the texture. PJ does complement the gorgeous spring weather we are having here for it is a carefree, optimistic perfume.

Although released in 2001 Premier Jour reminds me of simple, clean fragrances of the 90s from Calvin Klein, Issey Miyake or Kenzo, for instance, or even Estee Lauder's Pleasures, although Pleasures is much more assertive. On the whole my feeling about PJ is that it belongs to the large class of perfumes that appeal to people not sure whether or not they like perfume.

It comes down to one's taste and mood. Sometimes Pleasures annoys me because for all of its apparent delicacy, it is quite bombastic. At times like that I will reach for Premier Jour. It is very relaxing to be around a perfume, or a person, which knows when to keep quiet!

ioanaszmeu

simple, safe, natural smelling floral.i like that it's not sharp or cloying in any way.it smells like you're sitting in the middle of a flower garden.it is definitely a
good quality perfume

EDIT: i have a very old, almost empty bottle that has very good longevity and sillage compared to other perfumes in this category. i don't know how the current formulation performs

ZiZu

If somebody wants to buy it in the UK, try tkmaxx. Found a 50ml bottle today.

Such a shame Nina Ricci discontinued this amazing perfume! Whenever I wore it people used to ask me what I was wearing.
I have been on a hunt for it from United Kingdom to Italy, even Hungary, nowhere to be found in shops/duty free.
Whatever you will find on the internet is likely to be fake.
Nina Ricci please bring Premier Jour back!!!

idolinam

all teachers wear this. really. tried on myself. long lasting.

mihaela_dana

Angels in a bottle, is wonderful!

Kots_Tanya

I strongly agree with review below, please whoever thinks it’s not unique enough, tell me what is the other perfumes that smell similar, I’ll buy and test. This scent is so special to me, my mom got me this perfume when I was 16 and I still love this fragrance so so much. I just got a great deal on used bottle from eBay. So famine and so gentle skin like fragrance. The only downside, it doesn’t last long on me, but I’m willing to spray it over and over again, I have the travel spray too.

Cherville

It is like a hug: soft and warm, and welcoming. It gives you the touch of luxury. A pleasant fragrance with no particular emphasis. Sometimes you need just that.

corkscrewcurly

@TonyTheTiger

Sometimes someone makes an extremely stupid comment in very poor taste; sometimes someone needs to call them out. This is one of them.

"This was the perfume used in the Salisbury, UK novichok poisoning.
Don't be moaning about it's performance ;)"

Premier Jour is not "the perfume used in Salisbury, UK novichok poisoning".

The perfume was NOT used; a bottle labelled Premier Jour was discovered in Salisbury, which contained a novichok nerve agent.

Five people were hospitalised as a result of the attack. One died.

It is not appropriate now - nor will it ever be - to joke about it.

RobbieX

Let's get it straight. The bottle was used in the despicable poisoning. That's all!

TonyTheTiger

This was the perfume used in the Salisbury, UK novichok poisoning.
Don't be moaning about it's performance ;)

kunal vatyani

Amazing perfume. Poor performance

kristinzareva

I simply adore this perfume from the very first time I discovered it at our relative's collection, when I was about 14. This was the first perfume I bought when I was 16, and from time to time I buy it again. It is sophisticated and not too complicated, yet vibrant to my taste. I love how it openes up and its base notes are like pearls on my skin. One of the all time favorites.

TeddyM

A very soft and delicate daily scent, mostly gardenia with just a hint of vanilla and musk.
The performance I have to say is quite poor. On me I feel like it lasts somewhere between 1-2 hours.
A better option for me would be Calvin Klein's Sheer Beauty, it has that white flower freshness of jasmine and lily and the softness of vanilla and musk.

Charess

I mostly smell gardenia and... licorice! I'm surprised that licorice isn't listed as a note because it's very prominent om my skin. Premier jour also smells floral and a little musky and woody. It's a nice, comfortable fragrance.
Sillage and longevity are average.

winikrose

Beautiful perfect perfume. Getting harder to find. I too am looking for a similar scent if anyone has suggestion

Miaparadigma

Hi everyone, as this lovely scent has been discontinued, can anyone recommend me a perfume which is very similar? I am really missing wearing it - have been using it since it came out, unfortunately nowadays the net is full of fakes/past shelf time bottles.... :( :(

rihabi

Great design, good fragrance. Smells lovely on me, mainly white flowers and just a pitch of sweetness. Once it smelled like snowdrops to me, but it turns out it's actually gardenia. And the sweetness is caused by the mixture of the orchid and sweet pea. Pretty daytime scent. Reminds me of Versace pour femme.

bjer-don

This is a very lovely scent. But I feel it is best suited for a pre-teen or young lady who is just getting into perfumes. The sweet pea is prominent on my skin and it reminds me too much of something Bath and Body Works would sell.

kristen0129

I have changed my work back in late 2000s and I needed a new perfume to lead me in that new experience. When I am stressful, I always ask something fresh and delicate. First of all I was attracted by geometrically unusual bottle construction. I knew Premier Jour ads and it was described as delicate smell of skin, so I decided let it go. I sprayed and there was...nothing. Later that day after shopping I was on bus holding my hand up and suddenly I felt something smelling of sweet almonds and fresh apple tree blossom. That was the most fragile, clear scent. I have purchased later the smallest size and gone to work. Each day I got compliments and questions about scent but myself I could feel it occasionally. Imagine someone opens the window and you get smell of spring time garden and baking cookies but suddenly window is closed shut and you feel nothing. Soon I got annoyed how perfume escapes me and half full bottle given away to my colleague who was the most infatuated by scent. I could smell on her...nothing.

sonjabear

I really wanted to love this perfume but it's just not happening for me. The opening is citrus and floral and very pretty but also so, so bland. And fleeting. This is the most inoffensive, middle of the road perfume I own. I love the bottle and I will use this at the gym, thanks to its lack of longevity and it's nondescript nature.

manuelamiu

third bottle already. so freshly sweet and easy going

PepePurFume

NRPJ was a blind but based on the reviews on Fragrantica. On me, it's a nice, light, soft safe scent. I like it but don't love it. Doesn't have much silage for me. I'm glad I tried it and will most likely return or give to my daughter.

farahadel72

Nice white clean one

Lilium86

For me it is happiness in a bottle. Fresh and warm in the same time, it's perfect for spring! It's the first perfume I ever bought for myself and I use it only on happy moments

AshesM

I hate most sandalwood based perfumes, as I've discovered recently. This is no exception. Also the personality of the perfume and my personality just do not gel. I LOVE gourmands, as long as the vanilla smells natural and not synthetic. I love perfumes with big personality. I love some quirk factor. This perfume has none of those qualities. And hence...

But I agree with all the posters below, that this perfume is definitely very elegant, classic, feminine. This does remind me of deep red in some ways, but where deep red is pulchritudinous this is more traditional innocent feminity. There is something of the mamma about this perfume, not in a mature way, but like a young mother, coiffed beautifully, calm and composed. Reminds me a bit of Grace Kelly. A beautiful blonde young mother, with shiny hair in an elegant chignon, wearing a pencil skirt suit in baby blue and classic solitaires in her ears, sipping coffee at a cafe while her toddlers are in a pram next to her. It's definitely an evocative perfume. Sadly it is not for me.

corkscrewcurly

I love this perfume.

It was always my go-to summer fragrance and I bought replacement bottle after replacement bottle. For some reason, I didn't repurchase after my last bottle ran out.

A couple of weeks ago, I felt there was something missing from my fragrance wardrobe and realised - this was it.

I wore it again yesterday evening, after a shower, and it is a lovely, fresh, light but creamy floral scent to wear when the weather is hot and humid (as it has been in SE England). The initial spray opens with sweet pea and gardenia, which hang around for quite a while; the woodsy notes underpin the florals, which makes this perfume for me - I don't think I could wear this if the scent was exclusively floral. I can't really detect the vanilla in this at all, although it may be what gives the fragrance its creaminess.

I can imagine a summer bride wearing this on her wedding day. It is feminine and somehow virginal.

It has a reasonable longevity on my skin 4-5 hours and moderate sillage.

arefuthescroob

Wow! This perfume is just wonderful! Best of Nina Ricci! Others of NR seem to be even stinky compared to this one! My mom had it and I used to sneakily spray it on myself all the time :)))

bren400

I always wanted a Nina Ricci perfume, but haven't come across one that is my type of scent. This one, imho, is the 2nd best smelling from Nina Ricci that I've smelled. The best smelling one on my list is L'Air with the pinkish fluid (from what I remember.) When I tested Premier Jour, I didn't know what to think...something drew me to smell it over and over again. To me, it's an ok fragrance, just not for me. While I did enjoy my sample vial from a perfume samples website, it is not something I will go out and buy.

ana hen

I can say that it floral ,classic very easy recognisable fragrance. sweet pea and some yellow little flowers .

Also for but also for me there is something sad in it:) .only memory of course from some period of life .

senalica

A very classic, clean and fresh flower perfume. It is never heavy and stays airy, very soft. Plays beautifully outdoors in a fresh cool air.
Also - the sweet pea flower note holds some lovely memories - I was born in the summer and often got sweet pea flowers for my birthday. Such a wonderful and pleasant note.
To me Premier Jour feels fresh, feminine and just beautiful.

maya2000ro

This is one of my favorite fragrances. It's sweet but not invading and from my point of view it's extremely feminine.

mak.erot

It has a good and elegant scent. I bought this tester-bottle perfume from a well-known online shop in Indonesia, but it didn't come perfectly 'new' like it supposed to be, it had been sprayed once or two to make sure that it has a 'non-leaked sprayer', said the seller unprofessionally. Although it wasn't a 'brand new' perfume anymore, it didn't lessen my enthusiasm. It has a soft scent yet still feels elegant. I'm not an expert, but I can make sure that this perfume has a delicate and fresh scent, a mix between orange and gardenia flowers. A slight vanilla base, doesn't make me nausea. It makes me want to work harder every time I smelled this perfume. In tropical climates like my place, it lasts 4 hours on my body and 12 hours on my shirt. So ladies, enjoy your premier jour.

-----

So ladies, enjoy your premier jour..

anosh313

Why do I smell pepper?!! Don't understand, maybe it is because of woody notes?... I like the scent but the smell is a little strange

SpringClean

This is a beautiful fragrance in my opinion. It's sensual yet not ostentatious, it's warm and still somewhat fresh at the same time. An understated and classic beauty.

Joe'sGirl

So safe that I go to this everytime I need to hang or meet with someone/people that I need to impress in a first meeting cos I know first imporession is the lasting one and likewise, I dont want anyone to remember me as the one with the powerful/offensive fragrance; cos tastes vary so so much even with fragrance.
No one has ever said this fume smells bad. It smells pleasant and sweet and clean and amiable.

pi^2

In the beginning it smells "polite" and PC, but it soon warms up and becomes smiling kindness. It is not a very unique scent but it is well balanced. Fresh without being sour, sharp or aquatic; warm without being heavy or overly sweet. A bit powdery, gentle, light and feminine. The aspect of femininity that is presented here is the caring, kind and confident one, not a wild and sexy one. I would love to smell this on someone who takes care of people - a nurse, a doctor, a teacher - it will make me trust her.

ScarlettX

This one is sweet and floral fruity. It's not the most original one, but there are some things I like about it. I like the softness of gardenia note and the sweetness of sweet pea and orchid.
Still, I think this is one of those scents that must mix perfectly with one's chemistry. If it doesn't, then it's not a scent for you.
And it's not a scent for me.

elena-cristina.florescu

The first impression when I wear it..."too much citrus for me". In my opinion, orchid and gardenia(as well as jasmine, but not the case here)are too intense, sometimes even intoxicating fragrances, thus the combination between them, citrus and woody elements is too much for me. Maybe I was expecting something creamy, more delicate, sublime and I received a "strong" bouquet. I also hate the fact that the longetivity and sillage are soft- moderate. I don't like this parfume at all, it is not suitable for me, but I must admit that after a couple of hours (when the smell is almost gone), the base notes are quite plesant actually, but still not a representative flagrance for me.

No tester for PJ so I blind bought it based on reviews here but unfortunately It's not for me since I find it a bit too floral.
I was expecting it to be creamy and soft but on me only flowers stand out however it is a very good fragrance you just have to love flowers though, so this goes to my mum

rihabi

To me it smells like a snowdrop flower and few other "springies" in a small bouquet. Too florally aromatic and feminine, but in quite mature way - of course, because my mother uses it. Nice and interesting bottle design. But it's not my type :)

SzekelyEmoke

So I just got a sample of this, and i had Avon Summer White - Sunset on my wrist. I put this one on the back of my hand and it almost smelled the same way, but a bit sweeter!!! I kow is insane! :D
Anyway lovely fragrance, but nothing too special for me, I'd choose the Avon one over this, which is way cheaper and lasts even longer.

dazzlin9

Beautiful, charming and unique scent.. love it! But has no lasting power on me..

Inamorata

I have been personally introduced to this fragrance many, many years ago, by my mum. Thus, its scent is very dear to my heart. It is also a dear fragrance to me because, when I was in college, a friend of mine told the she felt like this perfume totally represented and characterized me. Since then, every time I feel the yellow mandarin notes I think , with nostalgia, of her and of the college years. The heart notes of gardenia and orchid enliven the person who wears it. The woody, sandal, musk and vanilla base notes are the ones who build the lasting, memorable character of this fragrance. Mmmm....talking about it, just woke up sweet memories and made me wanna buy it once again. Oh, I saw that the small flacon is at a very good deal on Strawberry. Think I will take another journey to the youthfull college years, with this scent...

Eira Sol

Premier Jour has grown on me. In the beginning I felt it was a little bit too weak and just disappeared after a while. But after a while of using it I found the subtleness of it to actually be quite nice. The smell of it is warm and comforting and far from being too much. If you wanna smell nice, but at any cost avoid being one of these these ladies who have a mist of odeur in a 10 meter radius around them this could be an excellent choice. Very feminine.

SeleneHdez

Kateri81

My relationship with this perfume is wierd. I do not like citruses much in my fragrances. But i just love the citrus bitterness in this one. And then I always complain about its longevity and silage, but I always end up buying it the next spring and wearing it even through all the summer. Well, what to say. It is simply beautiful, angelic and charming. I love it.

Ahlamsarah

Very elegant smell, like a fresh bouquet of flowers, perfect for spring , with moderate sillage and longevity, BIG LIKE.

lirael00

I really like it. It's just delicious. I get all fuzzy and dreamy while I'm wearing it. It has this magical warmth that kinda gives you shelter from the world. It's really made for women. Would wear that anytime of the day.

derkargy

Beautiful frag,zero lasting power!

ingridp

Premier jour was the first perfume I chose and bought by myself. It was many years ago when I wasn't so much into perfumes and I must admit that I admire how easy it was- I just smelled, liked and bought it.
It's like a beautiful woman without make up. Her beauty is quiet but obvious so there's no need to shout. She's optimistic and confident. Delicate, sophisticated and lovely.

pacciosa

mashuda

Mmmm. So dreamy. I have a LOT of perfumes, but this one is quite possibly one of my faves. So clean, so soft, so creamy, and I LOVE that I can smell the sandalwood at the end......

xjulietdx

This is really something which represents class. It makes me think about a sassy, beautiful, well spoken lady. It is inoffensive but it absolutely doesn't lacks character. Based on the notes it didn't sound like something I would like but boy, I was wrong! This is actually great! Just the right amount of vanilla which is a great combination with the gardenia. It reminds me of a creamy body lotion. There's a great change this will be my next purchase!

Stratos12

I really like this scent, unfortunately my skin chemistry does change it (in a more sweet way, than I wanted it to be). On my skin I feel it lasts at abt. 2 hours, while on my clothes (I sprayed it on my pajamas) more than 12hours and the scent is gorgeous (fresh, than sweet). Otherwise I really like it- soft and elegant perfume.

Taxidermy

Premier Jour is the epitome of tenderness and subtlety. When I think of classic femininity, I think of Premier Jour. It would be a good fit for a true lady of any age and suitable for any occasion. It's light and very uplifting. Indeed, like The First Day Of Your New Life.

vanillary29

Elegant and sweet floral scent! Also, my mother's signature :) It is a tender fragrance, it won't scream at you, but it will smile at you from the corner. Feminine floral notes, backed by warm woods and delicious vanilla and musk. The mandarin orange just gives the right amount of 'zing' to it. This is a 'round' fragrance, there are no sharp edges, it is soft and fluffy. And the bottle is uniquely pretty. A definite gem by Nina Ricci!

Shtefitza

Creamy floral scent! :) :) :)
I do enjoy some "punch" behind this pleasant accord. You can either layer it over something citrusy/woody or wear it on a mellow afternoon... :)

BikiniBabe

Such a beautiful powdery perfume... its almost like a womans version of baby powder - and i mean that as a compliment.

This makes me picture an elegant woman dressed in nude silks, soft spoken and very feminine.

There is nothing loud or aggressive about this perfume. It's very office friendly going into the smart casual/elegant category. =)

U can follow me on YouTube @ BeautyOnSale

genny17

This is very nice, a lovely floral. More grown up, although I wouldn't call it classic, a pretty Nina Ricci creation, more mature. Yet easy to enjoy . It is fresh in a way, very fragrant smelling, obviously nicely done, it is soft enough to be worn casually, and it is not boring, or generic, just a nice little scent with its own character. I detect the sweet pea at first, then the scent goes creamy, it reminds me a bit of Armani Mania . It is a bit light though and doesn't offer good longevity . Still, a nice creation by Nina Ricci.

virna.medina

great perfume. Just got it yesterday. Kinda reminds me of Boss Femme. I think I'm gonna enjoy our days together

Ishtar

Could't agree more with Ana_raio.. It's a very tender, angelic, creamy & pure feminine scent..

Green Jade

Comfortable, pleasant, gentle, discreet, extremely youthful and feminine...

Shtefitza

Oh, wow... I love how Fragrantica reminds me of all the different bottles I tried in past.... Premier Jour is one of them... Where did I find it?? Somewhere in a duty free... years ago... I have not seen it in years and forgot about it. It was a pioneering scent. Nowdays this type of a fragrance is more common... powdery, almondy, comforting, gentle and very feminine.... What a nice memory... I may buy it again, if I run into it. But this was not a scent I would go out of my way to get it again... :)
I am checking ingredients... I guess I am calling it powdery because of the mellow combination of sweet pea, vanilla, musk and sandalwood... Very creamy comforting memory... :)

meret

After being hesitant about buying Premier Jour for quite some time I finally got it less than a week ago. A small bottle, half-blind buy... And what can I say? I think I'm falling in love! :)

This is a fragrance in which I actually do recognise the notes of real flowers which doesn't happen all that often. If I tell you that I wanted to have my bridal bouquet made of sweet peas
(didn't get it though, wasn't quite the season anymore), and here - et voilá - here's the wonderful scent of fresh and sweet :) sweet peas au nature then you can understand how much I appreciate the note being emphasised. Wish I had known it just a little while ago, so I could have worn this to replace the missing flower in my bouquet.

But that's not it - there's also the gardenia note which is surprisingly (and pleasantly!) creamy. I can only guess it's the vanilla blend which makes it so smooth. Ah, and there's also the sparkling note of mandarin orange - moodlifting and energising.

My nose (which sadly is rather sensitive and accepts only mild fragrances these days) is happy with Premier Jour. It's indeed all what's been said by previous reviews - soft, delicate, nice, feminine, happy, clean, beautiful, floral... Cute! :)

All in all - I think I have found a new favorite for the coming spring! Plus, I already wish I had ordered the biggest bottle.

Ps. And yes, it fades away too fast. :S

oraib

I loved it, i finished 3 full size bottles, and on my way to get the 4th!

Kysyona

I owned it once, in times, when I could not afford to travel and was daydreaming about sitting on a balcony on a sunny spring morning somewhere in Paris drinking espresso and feeling that the world is my oyster! I think I spent quite a few months escaping the grey reality in this fantasy while I was using Premier Jour. Of course, once I got to visiting Paris, I realised, that the scent hardly suited that city: it just had "a little too little" character compared to the destination. Premier jour is a very light, but at the same time thirst-satisfying floral, tinted inmy favourite rosy-apricot shade. Unfortunately it did not have a lot of staying power on me. I would take it on a holiday to a place with a minimalistic setup: a small town on a lake or something like that. The scent is also perfect for wearing at home while on maternity leave: it is not at all offensive and rather carries a feeling of novelty in life and new beginnings. Since I am planning to have a baby some time soon, I will be buying a bottle especially for that, perhaps in pure parfum strenth to avoid constant re-application.

trueblue19

My mum brought a bundle of samples along with some perfumes back from her business trip to Paris. I still remember my favourite among them were Premier Jour and Rush 2.

I can hardly tell what it smells like now but in my memory it is a soft floral woody scent. I used to wear it in bed, close my eyes and imagine I'm strolling in a forest on a dewy spring morning in white linen dress. I walk and walk and finally sit down on a tree trunk. I smell the soft sunlight, the damp breeze, the balmy woody scent from the trunk, with all the fresh blooming flowers at my feet. Then I fell asleep in such a picture. This was how comforting this perfume to me.

Personally I prefer wearing heavy scents but this is a special scent that I'd like to keep to myself. There is only word to describe it and that word is BEAUTIFUL.

madeira_me

One of my favorites! Everytime I wear this perfume, I feel confident and remarked. I love the blend of flavours it leaves when you walk into a room.
It feels great in cool weather.

pardaleta

This it has been my signature perfume for many years, but this last bottle it doesn't smell anything! I must put 5-6 sprays. It's a shame because it's a delightful fragance, i love it.
No hi ha dret.

festy23

i don't like the scent..its just too powdery and flowery for me..just two sprays and its gives me a headache..

Umka2010

It's absolutely gorgeous on my skin on the cold winter days in Russia. lovely!

marilynne

About the poor longevity of contemporary perfumes
I think they make them of poor quality so we spray more often then necessary and buy another bottle and another and so on.
There s no other explanation for me. I m in love with perfumes and when I love one it doesn’t matter if it s expansive, very expansive or less expansive. They all last less then they should even if their name contains a word like essence or elixir or smth like that.
It s just a commercial strategy of this industry because that s what is all about.
It s the same with Premier Jour. Sorry.

yidansheng

very petally jasmine and subtly powdery violet at the beginning. Then it calms down to a fresh green and a bit ozonic fragrance. very clean, but not soapy at all. it reminds me of the fresh lovely breeze after rain in a valley filled with white flower blossoms.
after 10 mins on the tester paper, sweet and warm notes come out from vanilla and sandalwood.
after about an hour, the only thing left on the tester is just backnotes...

ppnair73

Bought this for my wife. It was a blind buy based on the comments here. And guess what, I am a superstar in my wife's eye. She absolutely loved it. And she told me that she would love to take a bath in the perfume. So now I am searching for the bodywash if it is available ;D. My only problem with this perfume is the projection, which is not so great. Otherwise, it is a great buy. Thank you people for your comments. This site rocks!!!

missk

Premier Jour by Nina Ricci is a crisp and refreshing floral on my skin, something that I tend to crave when the weather is unbearably hot.

I was first introduced to this fragrance by my best friend a few years ago. It was a part of her collection, however she never wore it. She was forever faithful to her signature Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana at that time, so she never dared to spritz on anything else. It's a shame because this fragrance is actually quite beautiful.

On the day that I tested Premier Jour, I had one man approach me in a cafe to compliment me on how fresh and lovely I smelt. To my nose, the most dominant accords are mandarin orange, orchid, sandalwood, musk and the slightest hint of vanilla.

Premier Jour falls into the fresh and clean floral category. The top notes are a tad citrusy due to the mandarin orange, and the drydown is pleasantly smooth and sweet due to the woodsy vanilla blend. This fragrance is fairly light in terms of projection, so I doubt it could offend anyone within close proximity.

It's quite an uplifting fragrance, hence the reason why I personally enjoy it more during Spring and Summer. I also adore its simplistic and crisp approach. Online discounters are selling this fragrance for a steal, so grab it while you can. I fear that it may have already been discontinued.

eckypup

My fave for 15 years, from school prom to wedding day. Had so many compliments, particularly from males when wearing it.

Warm, romantic, comforting, soft, clean, seductive and oh so womanly. Empowering stuff, and excellent staying power. I just love it (can you tell?!)

hotaru

reading all the reviews here and i bet someone would bash my head after reading my review for it's a total opposite experience.
I had this as a gift, and it hates me. I don't know why or what is it, but on me, it makes me smell like a cheap skank. It smells synthetic, with over-floral over-fruity that apparently poured into a blender by some 5yo, then put the mixture into the flacons, and im the unlucky soul to get one of those. Perhaps someone else got their flacons from an actual perfume master. It's cloying, annoying, overwhelming, and gives me serious nausea.
Never wear it again, have it somewhere in my closet and I've made up my mind not to wear this ever ever ever again.

Hotdoghusband

This is one of my favourite perfumes of all times. I went shopping the other day and 3 people stopped me to compliment and ask what perfume I was wearing. I was recommended this perfume by a friend some years back and now recommend to all of my friends also along with the people that compliment my fragrance.
Well done Nina Ricci for another great perfume. I also love Ricci Ricci but have just run out - boo hoo xxx

LaBoheme84

I bought this blindly, and I don't regret it. It is just what I wanted: a tender, soft floral for spring and summer. It is quite light however and I have to spray on quite a lot to get some sillage.
Edit: Actually, maybe I sorta slightly regret it. I generally want my perfume to pack a bit more punch than this. Celeb fragrances and body splashes rival this in strength.

byantur, I think you should try Burberry London, the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea flankers, Crabtree & Evelyn Iris, or Lollia In Love.

sunnysniffs

i've a story..
'i entered a shopping mall and as usual visited the perfume store, they'd special opening for nina ricci premier jour and so i advanced towards the corner where
the testers and bottles were displayed. Just as i stepped forward an aromatic scent took over my senses, it was different and it grew stronger as i approached the
stall. I picked up a tester and knocked 2 sprays of the juice on my wrist and sniffed. The scent opened floral citrusy and spicy. It was hot that day and all of
sudden it started downpour outside, i stepped outdoor and the perfume merged with the rain to project a seductive aroma and i was turned on'

The scent opens up with citrus notes more of bergamot, mandarin and settles beautifully to floral gardenia. The bottle somehow may not be so feminine, as it has no
smooth edges, curves or cuts like other nina ricci perfume bottles have. The scent is really fresh n floral.

byantur

I have been wearing Premier Jour for the last ten years in summer and winter. I am not a heavy scent person. For the last 2-3 years I added Narcio Rodriguez for her EDP and Coco Mademoiselle EDP to my list for winters. I am in search of another one to wear in spring and summer now. I don't want to smell too much, maybe what I want is a skin fragrance. Something not to sweet or too citrusy, something which doesn't scream but linger in the air, something with real personality. I know that some people don't think Premier Jour has some character but that was how I felt and people liked it on me.
Can you please give me some names?
Thanks a bunch.

sofababe

Straight out of the bottle there's something alarmingly bitter about Premier Jour, I thought I had made a terrible mistake, but after a minute's contact on my skin it became heavenly!! Sweet peas are one of my favourite flowers and it seems hard to replicate them successfully in a perfume but Nina Ricci seems to have done just that. Absolutely lovely (after the first minute).

notmenoeb

This is alomost a soliflore. On me it smells mostly like yellow daffodils, in a (heavily-loaded) soapy-powdery combination. It makes me feel very clean, innocent, but at the same time dull. It is not what I had hoped for, it is simply linear, does not evolve in stages, I get the same from beinning to end. I would say it is a luminous spring scent best suitable for a teen or young, dreamy, carefree woman. The name, however, might evoke the cleanliness, innocence, enthusiasm and joy of a first day (French Premier Jour). In this sense the name fits like a glove, but the scent is rather common for those expecting stage-evolution from their perfumes. For those loving light, airy, luminous, soapy/powdery-clean scents this is a must. (you should bare in mind that the notes, however soapy and light mught end up creating a sweaty feel to it). Longevity is very good, lasts more than 10 hrs on my skin, but the sandalwood, vanilla or the musk are nowhere. However the price is also rather inviting.

AnnAah

Soft, pleasant, innocent, a nice everyday scent, but nothing special. And really poor longevity.

L.E.:The more I wear it, the more it smells like a face cream to me

gabrielamisa

So sophisticated and feminine! I just adore it

belle femme

one word
this is my signature perfume
chic classic but not anoying or old like channel5
it is pretty & coquette

verysherry

NiNa RiCCi PReMieR JouR

For watever the name means...The perfume is a classic beauty ...its a shame it doesnt stay long enough...
The fragrance is heavy and more for the evenings... one thats a correct mix of woods and flowers...

Reminds you of a campfire or a nice quiet fireplace at home on a christmas eve...

I would love it ,if for the price,it stayed longer...
The fragrance is Sensuous!
:)

imochy

I just smelled this perfume today and I kind of like the smell. It's indeed safe and subtle, pretty and feminine, and not the kind of smell that will get you overwhelmed. I may gonna get this perfume for my mother as it's somehow too heavy for me. Doesn't mean that this is "mothers' perfume", but just don't match my personality. On the right person, this perfume could be the thing that bring her to the spotlight. :)

sugar_sweet

It is very similar to CK Truth, very feminine, subtle and romantic, but the lasting power is below average on me.

mika71

Beautiful, sheer, soft, no sharp edges. Perfect for the office where others might be sensitive to fragrance. Not great on longevity, about 3-4 hours on me. Worth reapplying though. Reminds me a bit of Intimately Beckham, but so much better.

rdharmapuri

I wish this stayed on my skin long enough for me to even begin appreciating it! Love the bottle though.

redrose

Bought it blindly as was on sale plus I based on reviews only. Nothing special for me,very boring notes, doesn t make me feel special:( It isnt ugly fragrance or aggressive though it is just so bland and without any shape for me. Sorry lovers of this one

redlippy

My nose had a glimpse of this premier jour when i was 23yrs old..My aunt had this before and i can't resist the feminine smell... So i always choose this one though its rare here in my country...I definitely like it..thumbs up :))

gracious

It doesn't last very well but I like it very very much

an.jorePipip

Not as sweet as usual Nina Ricci, longevity is very good! Unique bottle

derkargy

A beautiful fragrance but it doesn't last on my skin.

marymargret

A nice, ”kind” fragrance that makes you feel safe and comfortable. I don’t find it sexy or provocative at all, just feminine and decent. It is not especially unusual, but not common either, and definitely not boring or ”cheap”. Premier Jour is an elegant, creamy, soft gardenia and sweet pea fragrance, as safe as a nice dress that saves your day when you wonder what to wear.

I.I

The sexiest and most feminine perfume I've ever smelled and owned.

Inspire0111

Finally a gardenia scent that's not too harsh and too green! This is lovely - very tendre, soft and innocent. Opens up bright and sparkly, slightly fruity, slightly sweet and slightly pungent at the same time. Then it transitions into beautiful buttery gardenia. Finally, vanilla enters the stage in the dry down, ever so gentle, every so cuddly. I am intrigued by the development of the perfume - it is not at all linear. My favourite stage is the middle notes.

The top and the middle of this perfume are very similar in composition and development to Brasil Dream (Estee Lauder) but WAYYYY BETTER. Brasil dream is harsh, whereas this is soft.

stella by starlight

refind and yet happy, sexy but in a subtle way. i love it. one of my favorites.

airchild

VERY feminine and classy.

HanS

My mum gave me a tester of this and on first smell I thought it was much to old for me. After a while I decided it wasn't quite as bad as I had first thought. Still not a smell I would find myself wearing often

eec

I really like this fragrance and I feel it's like a classic perfume. It doesn't last very well though unfortunately, so have to re-apply

passionata20

This one is being discontinued??? I don´t believe it. It was such a huge hit when it came out and still is one of the bestsellers in my country shops. Also still widely available. This is a very good summer fragrance without being annoying, not being too much citrus, not too much floral, not too much of everything and great lasting power. It is not very remarkable though, but as i have tried it lately in the shop i remembered it and wanted it instantly back. Very good also as an office scent since it is not offensive.

suile

I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewer. This was a lovely "second skin" type of fragrance, not unlike Trussard's Skin only more floral. The bottle was cute too.

Siv7Stars

This is quite like Jil Sander Sensations. I wore it for my wedding. I loved it and went through several bottles. Now sadly discontinued. Why Nina Ricci (or whoever it is) saw fit to dump this and crank out the brightly coloured sugar fruit miasmas that currently make up its range I can't fathom. This was proper perfume, sophisticated, fresh, warm, beautiful at every stage. Very spring/summer. Actually does merge with you like it says it does.
They changed the bottle at one point, which wasn't an improvement. They gave it a nasty rubber lid. Then they they just gave up and threw it out. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY??
Phillistines.

Martyna

By looking at the bottle I thought that this one might be very powdery or soapy and mature. But it is nothing like that! It's a light, gentle floral on my skin. Very pleasant and discrete, a little bit sweet but generally fresh. Nothing extraordinary for me but definitely a very wearable fragrance that will not offend anyone.

I could smell it very well for the first 3 hours but then I literally had to put my wrist to my nose to catch a little bit of whatever was left of the fragrance, so I guess that it is not very long-lasting (at least on me).

Miss Parfum Addict

It was the first gift I earned from my boyfriend, almost 8 years ago!!

Premier jour is a nice floral scent, with a soft vannila base. It´s non invasive, close to skin and easy to wear. Hugo Boss Femme reminds me this one, wich I prefer (and has better lasting power).

Now, my bottle was finished and I hope replace it soon!!

Timka81

This fragrance suprised me. I didnt expect that Im gonna like it. On my skin it is a nice floral. In the top notes are a little bit too citrusy, but it disappears quikly and it becomes a nice, comfortable, easy-to-wear fragrance.

Sissi

Modern and sexy and if bland i'm not a fan of skin
scents but this seems to be alright, opens green
and woody with clean etchings of white gardenia. dries down sweet with vanilla and sweet pea I don't smell
any orchids nor detect them but it has a beautiful musk
drydown Basically there's not alot to say about this
these are one of the self explanatory fragrances with
the No Fuss No Muss kind of altitude with modern
Perfumery nothing that screams out individuality.

omerpervaiz

It is beautiful, it is floral, it is comforting.
perfect for any age group and for any occasion.
Though not unique but still lovable fragrance by nina ricci. i categorize it as floral/chypre fragrance.
Great bottle, nice silage and longevity.
I give it 7.3 out of 10.

VanAllan

As I've written below, this is a special perfume (as I think) that seems to be made for intelligent & open-minded women who know what they want and at the same time conscious of their beauty & sensibility.

It's my wife second preferred (after Dior Pure Poison, which btw. is stunning), along with Kenzo Amour Floral and Bvlgari Jasmine Noir...all sharing the finest flowery accord of jasmine & other white flowers.

Nina Ricci PJ is a little similar at heart with Dior PP but lighter & sweeter at drydown & can be worn by women of every age being versatile enough in many occasions and seasons. Very, very nice (for beloved women by men who are in love with them):D,

theoneilove

Premier jour, what an appropriate name for this perfume. It's joyful , feminine and sensual in a very discreet way. I like the bottle , it is just perfect.
I love this one!

Lottis

I bought it untested, because it got such good feedback here on Fragrantica.
Unfortunately, it smells a bit too weak and boring on my skin.
I will save it as a gift to a friend. Someone will love it better than me.

darvish

کار خوبیست.فضای ساده و صمیمی دارد.ماندگاری آن خوب است برای سنین مختلف مناسبه

LuluCoconut

This is one beautiful fragrance, from top to base. That said I get something very plastic-y smelling, but maybe it is part of the Premier Jour charm. First the fresh and sweet opening of citrus and sweet pea, followed by a thick mellow gardenia, then the warm but fresh woodsy dry-down. I can barely smell the vanilla. I'd have never tried it, if I hadn't liked it on a friend.Perfect for daily wear any time of the year. And then again the plastic note pervades it, thus making it a no for me.

Helsinki

This is how our downstairs bathroom always smelled like when mom had left for work.

I'd like to say that this is the essence of my mom, but that would be too plainly said.

[First message of the thread] Elgab89: "My mom wears it and I love it on her."

latifa

j'aime beacoup nina ricci premier jour c'est un porte bonheur pour moi en fait chaque évènement que je fasse pour la première fois je me parfume avec premier jour c'est un sentiment de toute chose nouvelle dans ma vie qui va m'apporter du bonheur

serenity3107

not bad ...but not remarkable..a bit boring ..and I find the bottle absolutely hideous
you won't get a lot of compliments

liinaliinas

I had an opportunity to use Premier Jour EDT for a while (my roommate let me use hers) and just fell in love with it. Back then it seemed to me that EDP is too strong on me, but now I even like perfume more.
Very elegant, feminine, special and smells expensive. I agree- it really is classy! There's nothing too much, but also it's not plain.
This is the Perfume for me and I just adore it!

Anna_gr

It's one of my absolute favorites! I got it in my teens and continue buying it since. It's floral but not too sweet, perfect for hot days...

Florentine

I like this and I would buy a bigger bottle but I swear it does not even last 10 minutes on my skin. Such a pitty. It is a delicate elegant scent but the staying power is sooooo poor.

Mochagirl

Two or three years ago I really wanted this to be my signature scent. But I failed in this. I wanted something powdery, yet fruity. The mandarin-orange, almond and sweet pea notes are quite nice on my skin, yet the sandalwood is getting stronger and stronger, and in the end, I cannot smell anything else, but sandalwood - like an incense stick burning. A bit too sharp.

PricklyAndHot

Light enough and chic floral fruity fragrance.

I mostly feel the sweet pea, mandarin, orchid, gardenia and woody notes in this fragrance. It's a little bit sweetened by the vanilla note. The musk note is not very noticeable. The sweet pea note really makes this fragrance original enough.

I like this fragrance, it smells quiet elegant. But actually I like more how it smells from the bottle than on skin, so I wear it not often.

Olushka

Hmm, only now I learned, that it has vanilla's smell... :) Usually I dont like Vanilla's, but I liked this aroma much. For me it seems to be quite light and good for warm seasons, as for summer, for example.

Mellyhelly

Premier Jour is a delicious, conforting, joyful fragrance. At least on my skin. It reminds me a little of Jil Sander Sensations, but better on my skin. Sensations smells great on a friend of mine. To be honest is not easy to detect notes here. I would call it floral-vanillic, perfect for daywear in colder months. EdP is even better, more mellow, creamy and intense. It's a fragrance that develop slowly and show different aspects. It has a fresh start, but not a sparkling or citrusy-sharp one. The first 30 minutes are not the best part of the fragrance. a little more true lemon oil would have been nice.
The heart is better, intensely floral, not cloying yet on the heavier side, it really blooms on my skin and it's powerful even in little amounts. A squirt is all you need if you want to enjoy your scent without killing people close to you (think of office...). Then comes the drydown: the vanilla start lingering along with flowers and it lasts a long time. Sandalwood is there but made sweeter by vanilla.
All in all it is an extremely enjoyable fragrance, perhaps not top of originality, but cosy and very feminine. It gives an aura of positive feminine sensuality that can be nice to perceive around, without being an overtly sexual or animalic smell that could annoy on the long term. The bottle is very cute and essential, while the coppery pink colour is very much in line with the scent. This one and Love in Paris are the only Nina Ricci's I can pleasurably wear.

jatzzie

Oh gosh...I didn't like this at all!It produced a very peculiar smell on my skin and my skin didn't like it all.Awful,awful,awful...

Miss Guerlain

Oh!! This is was once, back in the days 2001, when it was launched, my fave Daytime-fragrance! This is really "spring in a bottle" for me!! And BTW the bottle is really cool and extravagant. It`s really perfect for spring/summertime & hot weather. It is sooo Refreshing & still a soft Floral!

katnos_patsi

it is very romantic and at the same time delicate and sexi.i love this scent

zvoncica

Premier jour is peaceful and delicate floral with pronounced notes of orchid and mandarin. Havent been able to detect vanilla or sandalwood. It is light, close to skin and tranquil.

I think it suits romantic, dreamy, smooth ladies.

Main objection to this one is lasting power which is extremely short. More than that I object him for being common an easily forgettable.

sevanya

it's a very feminine scent, so tender, suitable for all occasions. I love it.

veg.princess

smells tropical and sensual. everyone wants a spritz when i wear it. unique bottle. works well on my skin in particular but not for everyone

noharadwan

i love premier jour alot, very sexy feminine elegant and the notes are matching together ,it smells like a rich fragrance

dully28

its classic ,I love it! and it's very romantic, Elegant and feminine

cora

It's amasing wonderful scent!!! Very light, perfect for everyday use and for the office , not offensive to others and lead to lots of compliments! I had it and i can buy it again and again!

Nicky_PL

I sprayed 150 ml of it and I got so accustomed to it that I stopped perceiving it. For me Premier jour is an expression of a feminine innocence and its quite subtle aroma suits everyday occasions and office environment.
Yet, it is too ordinary one - I won't wear it again because I'm in search for more extravagant ones...

kayka

this fragrance is a normal one. it is not wow!!!, but, it is ok. you should try it :)
i am not sure, maybe i will buy it again.

blue_bear

The most beautiful fragrance I ever had. Romantic, elegant, innocent, dreamy... and long lasting. I feel like I'm in heaven while I'm wearing it...

isalim

does anybody smell a hint of something smoky in the opening of this one? I think it may be just the bottle that I got, but would be interesting if someone else got a whiff of it too..

bugsy_b

This is the kind of perfume that I called as classy...
It got class...
It smelled sooo elegant and also chic.

Althea

I used to think this one is heavy and powdery and without trying I was successfully avoiding Premier Jour. Until the day I actually tried it, which was a couple of weeks ago. A big surprise, loved it. I wouldnt call it oriental, it is more floral with a touch of vanilla arome. It is on my wish list, but going to purchase it for spring, I dont think it is suitable for winter.

Lolly007

Ein warmer Duft, der in die kühlere Jahreszeit passt.
Für diesen Duft erhielt ich schon oft Komplimente.

tommy_girl

I love it!it makes me feel a very special woman and it's very romantic.I'm gonna buy a bottle as soon as possible

AprilSea

it is ok for summer, for holidays, for office. it is a daytime perfume.
not outstanding, but it does put a smile on your face, as if remembering nice memories.

marianne1203

One of my favorites. Nice and suitable for both day and night. :-)

indigo.smile
