Journey Woman by Amouage is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Journey Woman was launched in 2014. Journey Woman was created by Pierre Negrin and Alberto Morillas. Top notes are Osmanthus, Apricot, Nutmeg, Jasmine and Cardamom; middle notes are Honey, Mimosa, Jasmine Sambac and Cedar; base notes are Tobacco, Saffron, Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha, Vanila and Musk.

After last year's fragrant pair Amouage Fate, 2014 will certainly be marked by new editions Amouage Journey Man and Amouage Journey Woman, available in gold color flacons combined with crimson front part (face of the bottle), whose central part features Amouage logo and brand name.

We always expect a lot from the house of Amouage and the new Journey fragrances take us for an olfactive journey to the Orient by a mixture of precious ingredients. Women's fragrance Journey Woman has been announced as a floral-fruity with accentuated leather notes while the version for men, Journey Man, is masculine and woody-spicy also accentuated with leather subtones.

Top notes of AMOUAGE Journey Woman open with juicy apricots, osmanthus blossom, nutmeg and cardamom. The heart of the composition encompasses a floral union of sambac jasmine and mimosa, enriched with honey and cedar. Base notes of the composition are deep and warm, created of tobacco, saffron, vanilla, cypriol and musk. The perfume is available as 50 and 100ml Eau de Parfum.

Cedar and Florals are what stand out on me. I wish I had a little more of the cardamom and nutmeg with apricot. As an Amouage, it is blended really well. The longevity is great and Sillage is good as well. But there’s something that’s it’s lacking and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Therefore, I had to just rate it as a like.

Shanty36

Im always worried about blind buying amouage as many of their scents are very complex and heavy, but this one was an absolute winner. It's a super interesting (as always with amouage) fragrance that changes and develops a lot from opening to ending. For me it opens more floral with a touch of honey and mild spices, then the apricot develops through the mid like a syrupy apricot, and in the full dry down i get the full notes of the warm, viscous honey coming through. It's warm and beautiful. It doesnt feel super heavy but it definitely has a lot of body from that honey and vanilla. I really like this fragrance. I gave it a 4 but if i could i'd rate it 4.5... not eyes roll to the back of my head amazing but it's VERY good and would recommend checking out if you like honey scents.

JetSnail22

Cyanidic, clary, very interesting.

Cherry Bloom

Heavy stuff. Very heavy! Very floral, bit indolic, but smth makes very heavy if smelled too close. I will use it one day because you can only judge a perfume after wearing it fully. Could be a very beautiful floral perfume in the air. Interesting 🤔

Heliodora

Now this is an amazing scent profile; it opens with an very realistic fresh, sweet apricot note with a sparkling quality (think champagne or lemonade), and in the dry-down it becomes sweeter and resembles more of a dried apricot, which I love. The only problem here (and it's a big one) is unfortunately its longevity. For some reason, this disappears super quickly from my skin, within an hour or so. I will try spraying it on my clothes as well and we'll see if that improves it.

Rating: 🥲
Do I like it: Nah
Who it is: an 80s hairspray girl going for honeyed chamomile tea in the summer
Smells I get: tuberose, camphor accord, honey
Meyer's Briggs type: ESTJ, ISTJ

For me, it's camphor and honey intertwining. I love it. I hate it. I love it. Good honey. Bad camphor. Good honey. Ya get the schtick.
Reminiscent of Dior Poison, but overall never pulls entirely sweet on me, just camphor on a honey base. Large projection.
A pity.

SmellMyCheese

Smelled this without looking at the notes and could pick out the peachy osmanthus, the nutmeg/mace like spices and the creamy floral and vanilla. Thoughts were a spiced peach custard, and yeah notes seem to suggest that. A kind of Amouage semi-gourmand.

After seeing the note breakdown I definately feel the mimosa more now, that diffuse yellow floral summery tone, bright but herbal. It's probably the biggest note as it dries down. That and jasmine adding to the creamy quality.

While smelling it I was sure I had smelled this before and Ciel Man popped into my head, and sure enough there is plenty of overlap between the notes in this and in Ciel Man but this one is the way more feminine version for sure, the jasmine is noticeably adding a more feminine feel here and it was lavender used in Ciel.

Good, but also like Ciel I didn't enjoy this enough to get a bottle of.

Maya lilac

Journey is delectable! Imagine the most decadent, thick, gooey honey, paired with a significant amount of mimosa flowers in full blooms, a bunch of mouthwatering, slightly overripe apricots and peaches, a pinch of nutmeg and cardamom, some rich tobacco leaves and a heavy dose of vanilla, musk and woods. There’s Journey in a couple words!

And Journey is magnificent! Complex and quite unique! If you’re looking for a new sweet fruity, floral, with powdered yellow and white floral notes and if you’re into honeyed nutmeg and cardamom this is perfection in a vibrant red bottle.

I own Sunshine and I love it but after testing Journey, my opinion is that Journey smells better. More suitable for gourmand lovers like me, for sure!

I will have to add this to my collection, it’s just too good!

SalinasL

If you are looking for fruity and/or milky apricot and osmanthus, run as fast as you can away from this scent. If you are looking for sweet DRY tobacco, forget you ever heard about Amouage Journey. But if you just want to smell like sweet sticky honey (with the faint addition of nutmeg and only the HONEY-like aspects of apricot, mimosa and tobacco) look no further. Get a sample or just blind buy it, this scent is for you.

SSBurn

I really like this but it’s a little too cedar heavy in the opening for me. Anytime I get a “soda” type fizz in my nose from a sniff I know there’s cedar without even looking at the notes. The dry down is sooooo pretty tho! Think dark ballroom, tall Morticia Adams in a fitted burgundy red floor length gown with a high split. Beautiful and mysterious but somehow with a magnetic personality. I’ll definitely finish my sample but idk if it’s full bottle worthy! Maybe just for the intrigue. It’s definitely like nothing I’ve smelled before.

Edit: an hour later and the cedar is still dominant but it’s more toned down blended with the honey, tobacco and mimosa and I’m loving her more!

fragrantO

this smells just like hypnotic poison . a man pleaser and a pleaser to whoever wears it , longevity is outstanding and dries down to a very clean musky (barely) and powdery scent that is so so nice for those who are sick of reapplying perfume constantly . a higher quality hypnotic poison dupe that is worth everything! i like to combine this with dark amber and ginger lily. orgasmic combo.

Shappy

Wow, I just got my decant of this that I ordered, and oh my goodness. This certainly has taken me on a journey down memory lane. In the absolute best way possible, this threw me into my grandmother's apartment that she had when I was younger. I know she used to drink quite a bit of tea, and it must have been Jasmine or Osmanthus, because that is the most prominent thing I smell after it dries for a minute or two on my skin. Before that I do think I get the osmanthus with the nutmeg, and it is quite pretty, a little jarring at first, but still wonderful and interesting. But the tea is huge, with a good amount of honey. Not too sweet, but definitely sweet, especially in the dry down. It is slightly powdery, like after my grandmother has gotten ready for the day with her makeup. Now she has one of her well broken in luxury leather hand bags that is timeless in it's style. Not new and harsh LEATHER, but more of a bag that has taken on the smells of the user, that is just a staple in a chic woman's wardrobe.

I don't really think this has much of a season that it would be best for, but that may just be me having such a sentimental tie to it. I could see it in fall, as a comfort, I think it would do well in more mild winter days. It would be lovely in spring, and maybe the cooler summer days. So, I guess more the transitional periods of the year, not too hot, and not too cold.

This is going to be my NEXT find. If anyone in the states is trying to find a new home for their bottle, please message me!

I was in the fan club of amouage.
I ordered journey man on Tata CLIQ luxury got woman one instead.
Worst blind buy. All you get is Synthetic Synthetic Synthetic with below average performance. Seems some cheap clone.

ambervxyjul

Smells like the house of Amouage! It has many stories in the dry down. Initial spray is heavy with spices but as it wears, the honey and apricot come through. Surprisingly an easy buy from amouage just need to get through the first few minutes. The apricot and honey in this isn’t syrupy sweet as I expected. It smells like dried apricots sitting next to an older jar of opened honey that is more solid than liquid. It’s beautiful and niche, not mainstream by any means. It’s a sweeter buy especially for amouage!

ForTheLoveOfFrag

I've been trying this one out and while I think it's a pretty offering from Amouage, I'm so disappointed it doesn't read on my skin the same as it does most others. There is no warmth or coziness to be had here for me. No fruity florals. I primarily get osmanthus, cedar, and just a touch of mimosa leaving it very green and fresh with a slight woody undertone. It's actually not far from Reflection (sans the aquatic) on my skin. It's pretty, but not what I'm looking for.

Silverquick

Journey in a word, is “Joyful” and like the feeling of joy it’s simple yet complex, simultaneously. This lifts the spirits and surrounds you in a corona of warm golden light.

I purchased an very lightly used bottle off a fellow fragrance lover and trusted seller, 6 months ago and I’m drawn more and more to Journeys warm embrace.

Winter is nearing its end, and as always it’s stubbornly clinging. Journey offers a window to warmer, kinder and more abundant times.

Bright osmanthus and apricot with jasmine that gives off rich ripe, honeyed grape tones like those picked under summer skies, polleny mimosa notes and a dusting of spice. The base stays in the shadows offering warmth and structure. Slowly unfurling the warm dry and light tobacco tones (nothing ashy, green or sticky here). There’s a natural dryness that never gets arid or oppositely juicy. But remains somehow lush.

Her colours are golden amber, tangerine orange, rust, deep violet and lemon.

The top notes linger and stay through most of the life of the scent. She is radiant and long lasting but never overpowering. Stunning.

I think I can’t describe any fruity scent with those words. This so unique and all my expectations about Journey W were fulfilled when I smelled this fragrance for the first time and I even got more.

This is heavenly blended Apricot and Osmanthus. It’s not juicy at all, it’s powdery and soft. It’s luxurious and very hard to resist. There is even honey in it but it’s not sweet at all. All the notes which are there has been done in the different way than you are used to. It’s indulgent and there is some vintage vibe in it. I don’t think this as a Jasmine scent at all. Tobacco is also elegant, like a gentle vapor which softens the fruity notes. This is a Journey to your dreams. Beautiful.

Top: Apricot, Jasmine Tea, Osmanthus, Nutmeg, Cardamom

Heart: Jasmine, Sambac, Mimosa, Honey, Cedarwood

Base: Pipe Tobacco, Saffron, Vanilla, Cypriol, Musk

Lili1105

Journey is a fragrance interspersed primarily with jasmine, which is apparent from the very beginning and does not recede. I think it reminds me of Guerlain Champs Elysees, if I'm not mistaken, I should have tried it a long time ago and I smelled mostly jasmine. Nuts and honey are quite noticeable and makes parfume sweet. The scent itself is nice, but unless you're a jasmine lover, this won't be for you. As it matures, I start to smell something similar to Hermés un jardin sur la lagune. I have mixed feelings because I feel like I'm wearing more perfumes that I already know. You have to try it.

JcoAppie

I ordered this as a blind buy and I could not be more pleased. The opening is warm and spicy, but the dry down is where it’s at! So comforting.

Sonamoram

Searching for a new fragrance is the ultimate dopamine fix for me. The last two years I’ve been on the hunt for a new signature to replace Journey. Multiple decants ordered. Hundreds spent. And I can’t find anything that meets the standard.

This is a sumptuous oriental by the brilliant Arabian perfumery Amouage. Sweet, spice, musk, and mild leather with an appreciative longevity. Who else could blend honey and apricots and not create something sickeningly sweet and cloying?

For now I’m staying the course with Journey.

Shawn330

Beautiful oriental perfume. Lots of white florals on a bed of saffron and musks. It’s sharp and smooth all in one! Absolutely stunning bottle, it’s also very fruity! The osmanthus is truly stunning as well! Extremely well blended beautiful Arabian smelling gem!

AimeeZD

Unfortunately, for me this was a scrubber.
I usually really like Amouage creations and even have few full bottles, but this one is a hard pass.
The opening was so sharp, so unpleasant, literally the smell of burned plastic that overwhelmed all other notes. And when it finally settled after half an hour, I could smell the flowers and honey…. but tobacco emerged in its full ashtray glory (nothing like the fresh tobacco leaves from Amouage Sunshine).
All I can say is that I wish I never ever smell this perfume again in my life. I don’t dislike it, I hate it.

skybunny

They should have named this perfume Sunshine. Journey starts off like Poeme, yellow waxy flowers then settles down to a floral spiced honey scent that radiates warmth. The scent bubble feels hotter than the surrounding air. Journey is if Poeme was higher quality and had just come back from vacation.

eau de dosa

The initial spray of this reminds me of a bathroom spray, but then it calms down to a lovely honey, floral, sweet scent. I love that I can smell the powder. It is soft and delicate. Quite sexy and mysterious as well. I got off to a bad start with Amouage after I wildly blind bought Portrayal but I believe Lilac Love, Journey and Imitation are more up my alley.

MadameMerola

I just got mine delivered a few hours ago and it’s softer than I imagined it to be. It smells lovely and I like how it doesn’t remind me of another perfume. I will review it again after I have given it time to settle and worn it a couple of times. It’s raining season here in Nigeria so the weather is cooler than normal so let’s see how it performs.

P-Nay

Amouge Journey: This is a really hard one to classify but all I know is, it truly takes a Journal through my mind and the statement is so true that a "scent is the strongest tie to a memory" because this reminds me so much of my mom. Feels exotic! Feels arabian! Honeyed-apricots, lightly spicy, slightly sweet with a dry-muted woodiness to it. This is a beautiful and luxurious scent. Not aggressive at all, yet, stands with you allll day. Top notch quality; I absolutely love smelling this with every inhale!

Natizinha77

I had a bit complicated relationship with this perfume... Back in 2015 I purchased a 100ml bottle and used very little. The perfume was very but very sweet on my skin. I smelled only honey and nothing else. Although I like sweet perfumes, the problem with my skin is that almost any perfume turns sweet on it, so imagine what happens if I spray a particularly sweet perfume on my neck or wrist. For example Soir du Lune is just honey on my skin...
Fast forward to 2023: a smaller bottle of Journey arrived (I offered the other bottle to a friend of mine) and I used it twice. I really don't know what happened in the meantime. If my skin pH has changed, if these are my hormones, different diet perhaps...? Different, older me? Enough to say that now Journey presents itself as a much more complex scent to me. I still smell lots of honey but also beautiful flowers and delicate leather as well as jasmine tea. The composition seems to be much more elegant and interesting now, after some years. With Amouage things are never as they would seem when we read about the accords. It's not enough to just read about the ingredients or read thousands of reviews, although that helps, no doubt. With Amouage the safest thing is to try to sample it before comitting to a FB. But well, who's saying that? Me who bought all of my Amouage perfumes without sampling them first :)
Anyways, perfumes always invoke in me colours and images... Journey makes me think of orange colour, yellow, reddish. A copper-haired girl sitting somewhere in a Parisian café, watching people go by, looking at the trees, a cup of golden jasmine tea with just a drop of honey by her side. She is half-smiling, maybe trying to read but she is mostly attracted by Life around her... And she smells of Journey.

kristamb

This is a typical Amouage IMO, morphing significantly between its top, middle and base notes. Not a "love" from me. It's nice, but too floral for me. A great cheapie alternative to Journey would be Good Chemistry's Apricot Bloom, available at Target. Very similar vase notes between the two. Both are honey, apricot florals.

redberry11

Amouage's Journey smells like camomile/ jasmine tea with honey and lemon to me. The opening can smell a bit strange as all the animalic powdery facets of nutmeg, honey, mimosa and jasmine come to the surface. After that it's very relaxing/ calming scent, mild but with decent staying power.

Sniffathon

Growing up in Sydney Australia where critters and creepy crawlies are rife, one (me) can easily develop a bug phobia. This meant that I basically had a can of bug spray glued to my hand. Journey smells strongly like said bug spray for at least the first 30 minutes. After that, it is a straight up honey fragrance laced with florals and other embellishments. This is nothing like Sunshine (my first Amouage love), however I do see more of a resemblance to California Reverie by Van Cleef. If I can get over the bug spray element, this is a pleasant, light, sophisticated-sweet floral honey fragrance with hints of tobacco.

rosayvainilla

I really wanted to love this due to countless rave reviews for this fragrance but unfortunately honey and tobacco somehow do not work on me. So glad that I didn't blind buy this. The sweetness from honey was too overpowering and it smells like synthetic leather on me. I was hoping the dry down would be better as I love saffron, vanilla and musk but unfortunately I still didn't enjoy it. But I have to say that the scent is rather unique as I never smell anything like this before.

Shaina87

I get mostly osmanthus and apricot with quite a bit of jasmine, tobacco and honey. I also get a slight spiciness from the nutmeg and cardamom. I agree with the user below, I get a tea-like scent from this. It's really beautiful! The saffron is there but it's quiet and in the background. For me, this is suitable year round. But I see myself reaching for it mostly in spring and summer. It has an airy quality to it that I love.

jjluvsm9

This became an instant favourite at first spray. Wow wow wow. This smells like a tea house in China. Strong on the osmanthus, a little natural honey in there, sweet hay-like tobacco (not like the harsh tobacco you get in Naxos), jasmine all combine together to give an intoxicating, unique scent that feels truly timeless to me. I would save this one for the colder months as it’s quite a rich scent. Beautifully blended and a work of art. Never smelt anything like it 💗

I love Joruney. But seeing it sold so cheaply on some websites online seriously makes me doubt authenticity. Any experiences people with websites like AllBeauty, advertised here on Fragrantica, amongst others? I just cannot see Amouage being that cheap and being original. As tempted as I might be, my guts tells me: fake.
Any of you had any experience?

Enrium

Journey is a honeyed white floral scent with a peachy edge and an underlying chemical quality. It is like a lighter version of Amouage Sunshine - in a similar manner to how Dia is the lighter younger sister of Amouage Gold. I much prefer Journey to Sunshine - it smells less like chemicals, and the jarring marzipan note is absent. The result is a good-quality sweet white floral scent. It also reminds me a little of Sudocreme, an Irish pharmacy staple used to treat ailments from nappy rash to acne that is curiously, lavender-scented. The association is fond, and doesn't take from my enjoyment of Journey.

Journey has a peachy opening, thanks to the osmanthus and juicy apricot notes. Jasmine is a dominant note here, appearing sweet and creamy, but with a chemical undertone that brings to mind Alien. While I hated Alien, I think it works well here. It marries well with the apricot accord, and is given a warm edge by very soft spices.

As it develops, honey enhances the sweetness of the peachy florals, and powdery mimosa rounds it out. The synthetic undertone remains alongside the sweetness, but it isn't bad. As it dries down, it becomes earthy and slightly smoky. Vanilla adds creamy sweetness to the amber drydown, and it becomes slightly animalic and musky as it fades. It isn't very leathery to me - the animalic quality at the tail end is as close as it gets. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting - perhaps the chemicals I'm smelling are fixatives.

Featuring a good compositon, Journey is a nice example of a honeyed floral scent, feminine and pleasant despite the chemicals. It is transeasonal and an easy reach. This is likely quite a polarising scent, but I am quite won over by it. 4/5.

CeeTee

I, too, got a memory of Alien, probably due to the jasmine sambac and something cashmeran. The cashmeran and creaminess also remind me of Rouge Malachite, if you were able to strip out the tuberose, isolate the cashmeran and creamy accords and plop them into this composition.

Okay, enough comparisons. My experience with Journey:

I’m getting a wonderfully niche leather baseball mitt. It has a light, satin patina. Or maybe it’s a new pair of Italian patent leather shoes, just out of the box. This casts a spell on the jasmine to draw forth a creamier quality than I normally associate with sambac. Thick honey, with stone fruit as a willing accomplice coats the floral and tobacco; they’re gooey and dripping with sweetness (nothing bright or fresh to be found here.) The leather and honey dominate and coat my skin for the entirety of the wear.

I imagine honey lovers with an appreciation for uniqueness would really enjoy this! Projection is on the soft side of moderate. Longevity is middle of the road. As with real leather and honey, Journey stays close to its wearer.

Parfumeluna

If you want to warm up, wear this perfume;)… honey, chemicals, saffron- be different.. only 2.ways- you like it or you hate it.

flyprincess

A more classical style and refined version of Sunshine Woman imo. Softer and smoother; slightly more complex and mature. A woman who knows what she wants and has a degree of success in her life, yet no need to show off. Conservative but in a sexy, elegant way. Sexy/Chic. Beautiful composition. Great close encounter fragrance as it is soft, warm and sits closer to the skin. Perfect for fall. 7/10

Annapl9202

I’m so confused by this scent. I kind of love it but on the other hand it leans towards overwhelming sweet with the honey overtaking the rest, especially in the beginning after application. However it’s been 24hrs and I still smell it on my wrist and it’s become more beautiful and addicting. The honey is toned down and much more subtle allowing the rest of the perfume to surface and it’s really beautiful. I did try it on a super hot muggy day so maybe it’s a case of the wrong season. I saw a previous comment that also mentioned maybe the honey is too dominant in warm weather and will be more subtle in a winter environment. So I will test this again in a dry cold climate and see what comes out of it. To sum it up I think it would be the absolute perfect perfume if not for the honey, it’s just way too strong and veils the other components of the perfume which are actually very beautiful.

TheMunchkinlander

If you've never tried anything from this house, Journey is a safe starting point. I don't know what is it about Amouage that makes me feel that I've walked a looong way in which only the sun lies ahead. In Journey you know it's been a hot, daring road but the future paints bright. It's a light fragrance to wear. The flowers almost feel citrusy with undertones of honey and leather that make me think of moist skin. Doesn't remind me at all about Alien except from the desert vibes I get from both. Journey hasn't got as much sweetness, I'd go as far as saying it's a little tart. It feels more like the natural scent (BO) of the most idilic adventurous woman you can envision rather than a perfume itself. Everything here is blended beautifully 10/10.

MademoiselleMaya

Nice one, but I'm unimpressed after my sample test during high heat. I think the structure does not cope with it. Should be better in colder weather.
In current, sauna-like weather conditions it's all about honey.
Honey, honey, honey.
I do love honey, but I can place my nose in a jar of it and I will be having a happier smile.
And then I can detect a lot of mimosa and osmanthus.
The combination reaches a challenging facet of hay and even urine. Known from Idylle by Guerlain, and also from Champs-Elysses.
Very yellow.
It is a passing sensation, musk tames it.
But that's about it in high heat.
I am missing the spices - nothing in head notes, nothing in base notes.
Sure to change when colder. I'll revisit. It has a lot of potential.

Walerie

It starts up fresh but deep with vanilla, honey and osmanthus. Later on it goes deeper with the tobacco.

This is a scent for a grown up lady who is wearing it a rainy day together with a beautiful cashmere scarf. Journey is one of my favorites from Amouage.

neonaya

From first sniff I felt… nothing. May be it is my type of anosmia, but I spayed little bit more perfume on my skin. Only in 15 minutes when it starts to heat up I smelled honey, mimosa and gorgeous jasmine. The scent has medicine pills like shade that doesn’t let this composition melt and keeps it’s stem. And at the same time it has milky undertone that wraps you in comfortable cocoon. I love it!

jabreu

The notes made me hopeful, but this one is definetely a no for me, I even tossed the sample. The beginning is hard to tolerate - the strong smell of incense and baby powder is mixed with just a bit of honey. After a few hours, the smell of expensive incense subsides, and the honey takes the show. I got some whifs of musk, cedar, and tabacco, but not much else. It gave me a headache and clogged my nose. I wouldn't describe it as bad necessarily - it is sophisticated and complex in a way. But I wouldn't be able to wear it, and I would have a hard time tolerating someone who used more than a spray of this.

nepria

This perfume is so beautiful! I just can not express my love for the osmanthus note in this perfume that I have. It brings out the most precious childhood memories to me. When I used to spend time in nature. It incarnates to me the shift from day to night, from sunrise till sunset. These beautiful shifts happen every day as a routine for us but that are so different for nature. To me this is a nostalgic perfume, very mystical, evoking every emotion you have felt in the past. This one is very precious to me.
I can't find anywhere the perfumer of this creation, I would appreciate if anyone that knows could dm me. :)

Vanian

Another love from first sniff ❤ I can't believe this is happening, I have been trying and trying scents in the last few years with the wish and expectations something will blow my mind away and in the last week since I got my eight Amouage's samples this fragrance is the third one to hit me badly in the most gorgeous way. Journey is opening tiny bit medicinal but it is good, it is the moment when it makes my sense awakening in expectations that something beautiful will start unfolding and showing a scene full with soft, mellow, smooth honey surprises, it is sweet, but not exactly, I feel the Mimosa, the tobacco, the cypress, the apricot and the spices. The second stage is where the scent turns a bit soapy which I do love quite a lot, as I really love when a fragrance turns soapy on my skin, I also love the drydown very much too, it smells like someone next to me is smoking a good quality fragranced pipe tobacco ... Ah, this is beautiful and in a way unique, I say in a way as I think I experienced something similar, although not the same, but something reminded me about a fragrance in the range of Bond no 9 perfumes, can't remember which one it was, something in the opening, still, If you want to shine, do wear Journey. Do not be afraid to wear Journey in summer, she could be worn at any time and in any place you wish to feel gorgeous. I know I will definitely include her at some point in my collection. Created for all who understand what does quality ingredients in fragrances mean.

ticalica

This smells very unique, maybe not the prettiest but definitely memorable. It smells familiar yet strange.. Smells good in warm weather at night. The tobacco gives the fruits and honey a rough edge and makes it more interesting. It is not sweet or floral or fruity. I dont know exactly how to describe its fragrance genre. I wish it had stronger sillage although the longevity is good..

I love this perfume. I can see why this perfume is kind of you love it or you hate it. You mau smell differently between the opening and drydown. It was like 3 perfume in a bottle. It has a quirkiness of amouage, but for me this one is loveable. I would picture this perfume like energetic morning, cheerful day, and a relaxing night. Indeed, its not an easy to wear perfume there are many thing going on in a bottle. It last forever in my skin. Not safe for blind buy
I have a vial on this perfume. Currently this perfume not available in Indonesia. Thus, the only perfume that give me a sleepless nights because I keep thinking about this and looking for this perfume.

Hmmm…
Love the opening to mid, fruity notes and an herbal effect.

But then comes in a minty earthy scent as it dries down and begins to smell like menthol and beets, like some patchoulis smell. That ruins the scent for me. I have no problem with the mintiness, but the earthy beets are so unpleasant.

I like eating beets, but not to smell like them. 6/10-very nice stone fruitiness but dirt and beets.

Amouage Journey (2014) - fruity leather - #albertomorillas and #pierrenegrin create a dense & opulent fruity leather accord combining Osmanthus (apricot, suede-like), herbal green Mimosa, and a sweet, spicy and rich backbone of Nutmeg, Saffron, Cardamom, Cypriol (earthy) and Honey. A good balance across accords making it cohesive and wearable.

asined1595

It's amazing, I ordered a bottle, I bow

Sarah_Scentsational

I got boozy feels, no clue from which notes, but I feel this almondy liquor-ish kind of feel to it...

Its almost gourmand but very rich, spicy, balmy - very complex, like, very AMOUAGE...

Quite challenging in the opening (I even get a bit like eucalyptus oil smell)

But the dry down is wonderful...
I still have no clue how I got this almondy smells, like almond pudding or liquor, no joke hahaha...

All and all, I am in love with this one

YlangLover0912

This perfume is my second favourite from Amouage , I only would add Oud Oil.
This perfume is fruity , calming , deep and elegant.

The sweetness is balanced and I think it could be shared during a date.

There’s something unique about how osmanthus and mimosa are projected , I haven’t perceived something similar , there’s a lot of quality in this perfume, definitely worth the money for perfume collectors.

Bubbles1964

The scent of honey sweet tobacco and a carbonated root beer float, Journey is sweet and complex, and I can’t get on board.

ingeneuxo

-Refreshing fruity floral scent.
-Is there pineapple in this?
-Makes for a great dumb-reach in warmer months.
-The more refined-- and hence wearable-- version of Girl of Now by Elie Saab (I forget which is the fruity flanker as I don't own any.) (-)

Italian pigeon musk

Had a 2ml sample. I liked this, I enjoyed wearing it although it's not really for me.

I'm not a big fan of honey in fragrances and I'm just coming around to florals, but everything here is blended very nicely. It's not sickly sweet, the honey is tamed well.

Projection is very good, I could smell this with every inhale, but it's not suffocating, and the flowers smell very pretty, not like a cheap female floral fragrance.

There's a lot of complexity to this fragrance that for me, especially being unfamiliar with this type of fragrance, I would need to wear multiple times to pick out those subtitles.

I didn't have a hard time wearing this as a man, I didn't feel uncomfortable, although I don't think I would personally buy this, it is probably more suited to a woman. It's definitely a well made fragrance, and very easy to wear especially for most women.

kiraagold

Opens with opulent spiced honey mead and elegant jasmine, then slices fresh apricots and sprinkles them with a bit of pollen dust.
But Journey isn’t delicate–there’s a solidity on the bottom, like sturdy hospital clogs, leather and wood and rubber soles–that keeps her from being frivolous.

Stays within personal space for most of the day, then fades to the skin with sweet tobacco musk for the evening.
I like it–though my wallet is a little too lighthearted for this kind of gravitas.

mmmmgood

took awhile for this to grow on me...Im talking, a year and some change, But I like the musk base, and the way the osmanthus gels with everything else. Its spicy...but not typically spicy. It's green...but thats more the cypriol banging around. I want to say Ive smelled this in or on something that I liked..but not remembering is fine with me, because Journey maintains a certain mystery to it, anyway. I think its unisex...and more of a formal scent. But I can see someone wearing w/ white long sleeve shirt, and nice jeans. Its a beautiful fragrance that you wont find someone else wearing, generally speaking. And it doesn't rock the infamous longevity of most Amouage perfumes...but it sticks around, with constant puffs of attitude. One of the most wearable from Amouage.

Sereen84

This is like balsam for my soul. This takes me to another world...Literally. I lived for 12 years in the middle east and this smell is just that to me. An arabic sweet and spices souq (market), where the fragrances melt together into perfection. It is stunning. I own a bottle and I think of buying a backup in fear of this being reformulated or discontinued. It is so calming and comforting, so sweet, spicy and gourmand.. It is my gem and favorite perfume ever and I don t think that anyone will take its place soon.

LateBloomer

Good lord, Amouage. What are you doing to my wallet?! This is my favorite perfume from this house but I say that with each one I try. The honey! The spices. The flowers. And just the slightest hint of tobacco. Golden and gorgeous.

Dzehnie

Smells like musty old leather shoes on my skin. Will test again.
ETA- A well blended scent but isn't my style. Don't blind buy.

bookofhours

I'm another who is struggling to understand the underwhelmed reviews because I think this is quite gorgeous. I'm not typically into fruity florals but the suede-like apricoty aspects of osmanthus are an exception and that is what I get from Journey. I don't get blasts of honey that others seem to find problematic, although it is a sweet fragrance. To me the sweetness is more from the apricot/osmanthus facet and perhaps it is the nutmeg, cardamom and mimosa that is tempering the sweetness so that never feels sharp or too much. This is how I imagined an osmanthus perfume to smell like after having been disappointed by other perfumes where I feel I cannot pick out the note or it is simply citrusy. This is not a loud fragrance by any means and I wouldn't mind more intensity but the longevity is decent on my perfume-sucking skin. Others have described it as thin but I disagree. Despite the softness I think it is also satisfyingly round with some depth despite being extremely easy to wear. I think it does have the Amouage complexity and layers, just not that it's obviously oriental. I know it's going to be very wearable, and I think it will work pretty much year round in all situations (though I do live where it never gets very cold). It's not a dramatic perfume but it's cosy and happy. Casual opulence if there's such a thing. I wouldn't have minded a bit more spice but it's still so lovely and my favourite Amouage so far after Lyric Woman. I've ordered a good-priced bottle on FragranceX (around $AUD250).

Spicy honey, sweet powder, yellow flowers and enormous, very tasty sillage 🤩

You smell like a woman, who uses expensive cosmetics, loves sweet honeyed tea, keeps mimosa bouquet in her hands and shining brightly with her energy, killing softly with her lovely smile 😀

Energetic perfume. Encourages for action, living life, achieving goals. Not about romance or date at all.

But at the same time, after 8 hours this fragrance settles on your skin like a French veil and leaves a pleasant feeling of a juicy aftertaste.... that may work with a date 😎😍

“Journey” is amazing. Quality. Top.

Good luck and be inspired 💋

YlangLover0912

A dream coming true will be when I get this in my personal collection.

mirrorghost

this starts with a lot of apricot and honey. something in the background smells like paper to me, not sure what is doing that here. after a few minutes i get mimosa and osmanthus, and then the osmanthus really takes off and dominates the perfume. i get tobacco too and the combination of that and apricot (maybe?) produces a kind of suede note. lovely in autumn, that's for sure.

Smell of Freedom

To me this smells very much like Lolita Lempicka the original apple and Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire edp. But better.
In many cases price doesn't dictate quality, but that's not the case with Amouage. They really level up every scent they mix.
Although they are not listed, I smell dark cherries here with lots of wood. It could be tobacco, but I can't be sure. And all that with a drop of sweet, sweet honey.

ignatzb

The rubbery-powdery smell mentioned below reminds me of the inside of a Target store. The sweet stuff here is really well blended, but maybe too well because as beautiful as it smells on paper, the linoleum odor is dominating it on my skin.

danygurl06

At first, I couldn’t put my finger on what this smell reminded me of. There was a reason though. It’s not the smell of a perfume. It smells like the bottom of my mom’s purpose when I was little. It’s like you dumped out all the contents and that sweet smell of lipstick, loose change, gums and candies and tons of receipts and stray papers. There is also a rubbery leather feel to this.

Its feminine in a different way.

Update: I’ve recently had the opportunity to smell a soliflore of osmanthus. This fragrance is all about the osmanthus. I mean all about.

mmmmgood

Reminds me a LOT of Thierry Mugler's "Fleur du Mal" ...and Rapelle-Toi.

My favorite house, altho' I don't own as many fragrances from Amouage, anymore....that may change again, in the midst of downsizing and getting rid of "overage", not named after Amouage.. after buying this, I have no problem saying, Amouage's "female" frags are far better than the ones they make, with dudes in mind. Beautiful stuff, here. I don't like Journey Man much. But this juice is a head turner. You can wear it with a tux...or a leather jacket.

Petula009

Holy moly...I order a sample because I love osmanthus and fruits. I am impressed and I wish I could afford to buy this, because it is amazing on my skin. It is a perfect mixture between sweet and spicy ( I really do smell the cardamom and nutmeg and I think that is why it reads so rubber-like). I am a huge fan of Amouage's Sunshine and I feel like this is a parfume from the same family.
Vibes: warm, woody, spicy but also edible fruits
Form: 2ml sample

Soprane

Trying a sample. I get a big sweet marzipan hit followed quickly by something sharply rubbery. I also get a pretty insistent sour cherry on the front. Too fruity for me. No one else has mentioned cherry so maybe my skin is doing something. About 10 minutes in, the rubbery sharpness becomes more powdery and I can tell there's vanilla and tobacco under there. Someone mentioned wet ashtray, which I sort of get, and I don't mind it. But I don't like it enough to buy a bottle.

GlacialImpala

I am not sure if a perfume is not that good if it smells like a famous old one. But at this price point it probably is. I personally have a strong dislike for it, it just smells old and strong, but my mom instantly proclaimed Shalimar! when she tried it. So there's that.
edit: Tried it once again. It smells bitter, a bit musty but mostly like an old woman's cupboard. There's three distinct smells that evoke that 'OLD' connotations. There's this one, there's rose and there's ones that smell like stale chocolate. I'm not saying that as a rule, just to explain where I'm coming from.

Atlante_Pleiade

Sometimes I am confused with some fragrances and Journey Woman is one of them. I am not saying that the smell is unpleasant but there is something that is making me dizzy and nauseous.
There is no leather note but every time I sniff it I just imagine new leather shoes or bag. And somehow reminds of Shalimar.
I can say that I don't like this fragrance because it makes me feel sick but I cannot say that it smells bad. It is a complex and difficult fragrance.

suzu93

Journey represents Amouage very well. This is what I call quality, and this is why I love Amouage as a brand. The quality of the notes are top notch. Honey, Osmanthus and apricots, such an elegant scent. This is opulence in a bottle. The longevity is great, and sillage is oh so captivating.

jolla

This started out as a like but ended up as a big love. I would love to own a bottle. This scent is something else, it's so calming and at the same time uplifting. I love wearing it on a rainy day. It's the best honey prominent fragrance I've ever tried. The honey accord combined with the osmanthus just smells like you would be a honey bee sipping out nectar from the most delicious flower in the garden. There is also something incency/tobaccoish there but it so light that it plays a little game with your nostrils. It's sweet, soft spicy and flowery. I think it needs a couple of wears for someone to understand what a masterpiece this is because of how masterfully blended it is. The sillage and longevity is great but never disturbing. It's a quiet kick of flowery honey, but never a punsch in your face. Absolutely Beautiful and feminine. Amouage never seems to dissapoint.

roseyessence

I did not care for Sunshine woman at all. I am still trying to like it. But this, this Journey Woman. I love. May be because it smells like something that I am used to. It reminds me immensely of Thierry Mugler's Alien(the purple bottle) Not a blind buy, bottle worthy for me but definitely very much Alien vibe. Powdery, a little bit of incense, long lasting, not mass appealing.

UPDATE: 09/25/2020
Every time I wear this I get " you smell so good" or "someone around here smells great" this happens every time. It is not mass appealing but people both men and women love this. I have now changed my mind, it is blind buy worthy and it is creeping up to be my favorite Amouage.

Advaitaforever

How lovely, apricot and a soothing osmanthus are the most present notes in the beginning. It almost reminds me of apricot yoghurt. There is a dry array of mimosa and other florals in the background. As the scent warms up to the skin, the sweetness plays up as a light honey. In the ultimate dry-down, there is a blend of oriental spices that are typically used in deserts as opposed to savoury alternatives.

It’s very characterically Amouage: excellent quality, creative, unusual and a little understated. This is definitely suited a mature market and someone who is earthy and artistic.

There is a strong woody base with green tones that ground the fragrance as completely unisex.

jenkuma

(sample) This is a very successful fragrance in that I picked up white, creamy flowers dipped in honey before reviewing what the notes are. The scent is pleasant and very feminine. I don't think it's quite my taste though. In my opinion this is better suited for people that prefer more mature fragrances.

Kots_Tanya

This reminds me a lot of amouage sunshine, has very similar peach Accords. Also it smells very similar to Herod by parfums de marly on dry down, like a lot. Overall something is very pleasant in it that makes me come back to smell it but I’m not sure if I want to wear I t for myself because of how strong and overpowering it is, just like all Amouage fragrances. The longevity is amazing.

dzingunyte

gorgeous fragrance, stunningly elegant sweet, not overwhelming.. top class perfume like all Amouage

YanaY

Straight up sweet apricot jam, way too much honey...basically a gourmand. Not full bottle worthy for me. Glad I got a decant and didn't blind buy the FB during Black Friday hype. Try before you buy...unless you know you love to smell like sweet, thick apricot jam.

missk

I am most familiar with Amouage's older releases, having been put off by the less than favourable reviews regarding some of their newer offerings. The consensus is that Amouage in trying to appeal to the masses has lost much of its heavy-oriental charm, and while I do love Jubilation 25 and Memoir Woman for their rich incense accords, I have found another love in Amouage Journey Woman.

Almost a decade ago I smelt Serge Lutens Miel de Bois and instantly fell in love. Miel de Bois had recently been discontinued and I lamented over its sudden increase in price due to its dwindling availability. To this day I still don't own a bottle. Amouage Journey Woman, however, reminds me of this discontinued gem.

Honey is a tricky note in perfumery. When blended correctly it can be syrupy, sweet and bright, yet in some instances, it can smell almost fecal. Amouage Journey Woman does have a slight animalic accord, however, it is very short-lived.

I smell a lot of white flowers, juicy apricot, drizzly honey, herbal tea and tobacco in this fragrance. On my skin, Amouage Journey Woman is playful and frivolous. I do agree that this is not a typical Amouage fragrance, as it is more fruity and lush than a majority of their range, yet I rather enjoy the welcome change.

Amouage Journey Woman is a fragrance best suited to Spring and Autumn when the weather is changing. I find it too heavy for Summer and too bright and juicy for Winter. I do thoroughly enjoy this fragrance, yet I am cautious when it comes to buying on impulse. I need to sample this fragrance a few times more to understand its complexities and see just how well it wears on my skin. I would recommend that others do the same, as like many Amouage fragrances, they are not easy crowd-pleasers.

ghadaalboghdadi

Imagine you enter a room, outside in the balcony with velvet deep red curtains, there are lush bushes of osmanthus, in the room there is a glass dining table with golden leg. On it there is a huge bouquet of Jasmins, a plate with some apricots on it, and an aromatic cardamom infused cake, and there is some smoke in the air.

On me it's Jasmine/osmanthus and cardamom, a combination I didn't know was so good, I can smell the sweetness of honey and sense a bit the smokiness of tobacco. But even to my amateur nose I can sense it's too complex to sum up.

Delicious, mysterious, lush, sweet, spicy, velvety, smooth, elegant, welcoming.

I literally dream about this perfume.

The other day I was considering to sell it, since I don't use it so much.

And since yesterday I kept getting wafts of it, at first I was like, I know this smell, then I realized it was journey woman. I was at home all day, and journey was in the cabinet, sleeping in it's gorgeous golden box. How did this happen?
This scent is so memorable, you'll not forget it. To me at least I've never smelt anything like it.

This is the first time this happens to me, to smell a perfume from my memory alone.

I see many may not appreciate it since it is difficult to comprehend.. I do not comprehend it either, but there's something about it that's special, unique, and very memorable. You may not agree with it, but you'll remember it. The sweet honeyed smokiness, sticks to your olfactory memory centers. It envelopes and captivates, without loudness, or extravagance.

I realize, I'm captivated by her, and I can't let her go.

kielo

This one smelled amazing on paper strip. Beautiful wafts of sweet apricotty nectar. But was not so great on skin. Should propably test longer to make up my mind.

Persephone's return

This has a really pleasant and unusual warmth to it. Has the feeing of gazing out of a window overlooking a flower garden on a sunny day eating Peaches poached in cinnamon, brandy and honey, with the faint smell of someone smoking tobacco wafting up.
But then what spoils it on my skin is that there is a very oily/petroleum jelly/rubber smell right from the time sprayed, it is the strongest smell and not something I could ignore. This note does not fade until around the 6 hour mark, where it becomes that beautiful unusual warm, smoky peach. It must just be my body chemistry, such a shame for me!

elektriq

Journey Woman is an enchanting and complex honeyed-floral-fruity scent, yet somehow airy. It's a magical mimosa honey studded with osmanthus flowers and edged in rich vanillic tobacco, with wispy jasmine sambac and dry saffron.

This must be the scent of the breeze in some heavenly realm of Eternal Spring.

Note: I don't usually subscribe to reserving scents for certain seasons, but I must admit that this scent really blooms into its full glory in warmer weather.

FatimaD

I thought I liked it. Not sure. Smells like a miscue of pickles and a detergent. Have to test it longer

rola.asad

Very unique sweet honey fragrance!

It's one of the most complex fragrances, when I smell it so many notes come up to my mind, such as dried flowers, peaches/ apricots, leather, tobacco, spices; I would say that this fragrance takes me to a really fun journey whenever I use it!!

It's a sophisticated fruity floral juice, with a syrupy sweet base, and a bunch of other smokey ingredients.

my appreciation for this gem, cheers!!

GataEspana

Spritzed some on my wrist whilst at El Corte and it’s not bad but I’m not a fan. I think Spain’s dry air isn’t doing this one any favors. Perhaps humidity is the Journey Woman’s friend.

I like unisex fragrances but this one is masculine in such a way that I think of Old Spice. At the top it was a very lovely honey not as great as Slowdive’s honey but still lovely. It’s been an hour and that honey has sadly disappeared. I’m currently left with a spicy, peachy-but-not-quite scent that I like to smell but wouldn’t really want to smell like. I believe it’s the spice that lends the fragrance its masculinity. Could be my skin but I’m getting zero tobacco. Good sillage though. Not too much just enough to catch a sniff when my wrists are near.

I’m going to wash this off and try out the D600 I just bought :)

lilspils

I get wet tobacco, cedar and a hint of honey. Not a single floral note to be found here (on my skin anyway). While I dislike this scent on my skin, she was a blind buy so I will keep this for the cooler months and try to find another edp to layer with it, so it is wearable.

My Day 7 with Amouage Journey.. I totally discarded it on my first spray but I absolutely love it now!
Day 1 - Tuscan style flowers all the way through UNTIL amazing vintage floral very subtle but haunting dry down.
Day 2 - leather type notes are suddenly there..!
Day 3 - honey, all about honey.. (in addition to everything else :-))
Day 4 - still honey, I am constantly sniffing the little bubble I am in, tremendously enjoying every little bit of it.
Day 5 - before the dry down - greens!!! How did not I notice them?
Day 6 - don’t care much what ingredients are :-) still sniffing... Main thing, the fragrance makes me feel better, makes me look better, heals me emotionally.. I do not think I ever experienced this with any other fragrance..
What will this journey bring to me ahead?..!!
Day 7 - my 2 ml sample has a last drop to enjoy.. Looking forward to purchasing a full size bottle.

I love their classic collection and even some of the garden collection, although less impressive (also for the price they come up at) but this one is a hard one. When I last bought Ubar the lady at the counter gave me half a bag full of samples of the ones I did not already have so home I was like a kid on Xmas morning waiting to sample them. But, sorry, disappointed with this one. It starts sharp on the fruity flowery note and then comes down to a rubbery plastic mimosa still with a sharp unpleasant note in the background. I think it’s the cedar and the jasmine but the whole comes out weird, unbalanced and, again, just sharp. As it dries down it becomes better, although quite plain and not really memorable, but the opening really puts me off. Anyway, this does not change my admiration for the brand and their other fragrances.

CynthiaPOnce

One more edit to my review below:

Someone else mentioned a nod towards Amouage Sushine, which I adore and also own. I find them different enough to own both. I find sunshine brighter and the tobacco note much more pronounced, whereas Journey Woman is much more about the honey. There is a tobacco note if you look for it. But it is true that in the dry down, there is a nod towards Sunshine, but not enough for me to not have both. Î think of Hypnotic Poison more in Journeys opening for those brief 10/15 Minutes, than I do of Sunshinw for the duration of Journey.

CynthiaPOnce

I won’t add anything that hasn’t already been mentioned below. I’m on the “Love it” team and ended up getting the FB.

What I will add is that some below are mentioning that it reminds them of something they can’t quite put their finger on. It’s only during the opening. And what it’s reminding us of is the vintage Dior Hypnotic Poison. Just in the opening.

But, not to mislead anyone who hasn’t smelled this yet, think of it as Hypnotic Poison’s elegant older sister. It’s only for the first 20 Minutes or so, then morphs to a gentle jasmine and honey tea that has an intimate sillage. In fact, while out recently with a friend that claims he is highly allergic to perfumes (sorry dude. I didn’t know and sprayed at least three times) he didn’t even notice I was wearing perfume until I said something and he had to come in and basically smell the skin where I had sprayed. On a side note, not only did he like it. He felt it was a high quality fragrance and it did not trigger any sort of allergies.

But I digress. I feel I identified what others below are being reminded of and it’s Dior HP the original. Which I was thrilled about, as the new version of HP is not the same and Journey Woman hits the notes that had made me love the original HP, but again, the more elegant HP.

While both perfumes are for any woman of any age, how I imagine it for that brief period that there is any similarity at all:
Original HP is a woman in her 20s, wearing fashionable jeans and a white tee and maybe a leather jacket and boots with a heel or something, going on a fun date, not trying too hard (or wanting to appear that way) but with a sexy and pronounced fashionable edge. It’s obvious though.

Amouage Journey Woman is a Woman in her late 30s wearing a wrap dress and heels with a shawl, completely owning her femininity, understanding its power and therefore not needing to flaunt it, for a more sophisticated date.

After this Amouage Journey Woman is a completely different journey that HP.

For that part of the review, just read what they others say below.

I love it. I wish it lasted and projected a little bit more.

cedar_lea

The opening is a lovely osmanthus honeyed floral kissed with apricot and mimosa. Slowly the saffron tobacco and jasmine come in without fully taking over. There is a certain reflection of Sunshine in this. I didn't get much spice and the longevity was only 6-7 hours, but that could have been in part because it was a dauber sample.

I'm not sure what I think of this yet. There were times when it was absolutely beautiful. I don't think I like the combination of saffron, tobacco, and mimosa. It seems the powderiness gets a little ashy.

Tigerlillian

Somehow the smoothness of cardamom, earthy nuttiness of nutmeg and the floral-fruit nuances of osmanthus deliver an accord not unlike heliotrope to me -- tons! I love this curious arrangement that feels almost alien like. I can't help thinking of expertly smoothed almond marzipan fondant on an Italian couture wedding cake.

The apricot note is warm and fruity but light, complementing the osmanthus perfectly. Mimosa adds a delicate spray of powdered sunshine and a gentle green pollination. The cedarwood note in the base is soft and airy, floating in concert with a light, clean musk. Tobacco is barely discernible, contributing a little warm, sweet air.

This feels like late spring during a warm evening sitting under a mimosa tree in filtered sunlight. Polished, yet naturally comfortable and pleasantly unique.

LittleParfumista

What a warm and comforting scent. For me a winter warmer with honey, tobacco and spices being the most prominent, then vanilla, mimosa and other florals jumping in. The mixture of tobacco, spices and flowers leaves a subtle hint reminiscent of incense.

Very beautiful, sweet, cozy and yet different from mass marketed fragrances.

Do I even need to mention its tremendous longevity and silage? Plus beautiful bottle.

Another masterpiece from amouage.

ayh210

Woah! The opening blast of honey in this is STRONG and incredibly sweet but then mellows out to something strangely rubbery, I can't put my finger on what it reminds me of, but it's unpleasant until the saffron really takes over. I love saffron in my paella, but when that is the only note you can smell on your skin, it's less than ideal. This phase lasts on me for hours, longer than I care for.
Talk about a journey! I find myself picking up my arm intermittently throughout the day just to see if the saffron has worn off, it hasn't, it's a bit nauseating to me and a bit unbelievable how strongly this one note lasts for on me!
Dislike. Pass.
After about 6 hours of saffron, a note comes out that smells strangely similar to tom ford's black orchid. The beautiful drydown.
Unfortunately, even though I can't actually still smell the saffron, it radiated off my skin for SO long, i don't think i could wear this fragrance, even for the beautiful drydown.

Adiro

Just tried from a little dab on sample, truly unique and lovely. It has a certain viscosity, or heaviness. like most Amouage fumes have, its a gorgeous smooth blend of apricots, osmanthus , a clear candle wax note and some sweet drifts of fine vanillic tobacco. i'm not crazy about tobacco, but here it works. The whole scent is round, heavy and smooth like a syrup. No freshness whatsoever, only warmth and cosyness, in a fairly tenacious but somewhat quiet ( no huge sillage ) scent . Love it!

Duskfall

This one has a synthetic and fairly unpleasant undertone when the weather is cool, but it blooms in warmer seasons. Then it smells like jasmine-blended Earl Grey tea (Persian Earl Grey) with loads of honey and some invigorating spiciness. Quite nice, although not exactly my style (I don't know why, but it just feels "wrong" on me). Journey is, nevertheless, worth checking out if you're looking for a relatively substantial floral-fruity oriental that is suitable for summer.

The performance is slightly above average (nowhere near beast mode).

Berlin Im Winter "

Journey has the darkest Apricot's I ever smelled. Here in combination with Osmanthus, Ceder, Honey and Musk. To me unisex - that dark note it is. I don't get any sweet or fruitysweet notes at all. I'm glad for my sample -this will not be a bottle to buy - but a great scent, not for my skin.

AMajeedQT

Peaches with a the weird smell of honey. Sometimes I find it sexy, sometimes I find it a meh.

It smells like peaches. Like plain peaches. Not the sweet smell of peach. No. Like a sugarless peach-flavored yogurt.

Cauda Pavonis

Stunning opening, with a piercingly beautiful, shimmering floral note (the osmanthus? the mimosa? both?) over a smoky, rubbery base (smells like oud to me although there's none listed.) Beautifully sweet, while at the same time the animalic chypre brings a wonderful sultriness. A sumptuous floriental that manages to be both ethereal and decadent at the same time. As it progresses the floral part softens and the animalic base becomes more prominent, finally drying down to a pleasant green floral as the tobacco/animalics fade away (that surprised me a bit). As another reviewer wrote, "Someone once asked me if I could choose to be with either a beautiful woman or an attractive one, whom would I rather pick? My answer is always the same: the attractive woman. Journey Woman is no ravishing beauty but she is undeniably attractive."

Whit

I don't know how Amouage did it, but they managed to blend three notes that are tricky on my skin (honey, mimosa, and apricot) into a beautiful perfume. This smells like honeyed sweet tobacco on my skin. It gets darker as it dries, with the tobacco becoming less sweet over time. I also get a lot of saffron too from this. I've had a sample of this for a long time and came across it the other night. I had completely forgotten that I had some of my sample left over! I tried it and just fell in love with it. It definitely does best on my skin in cooler temps. I kept getting beautiful wafts of tobacco throughout the night, to the point where I finally sold myself on a bottle. Yep, Merry Christmas to me! I had to order from the UK, but it'll be here before the holiday. I'm so excited! Until then, I'll sniff what's left of my sample. Thanks for another (wallet breaking) winner, Amouage!

Cams

Journey is sensual, rich and intoxicating. I get honey cedar and tobacco on my skin. It lasts for 12 hours plus and is a heavenly addition to this exotic line.

Happyme2009

I got to sample this thanks for lolvely Ms.Cherie.. I smell honey and suede , or some kind of soft leather, maybe camomile . Very warm, inviting, slightly animalic, intimate. Not necessarily feminine , sensual. I want it!

rhaineclayton

My skin amplifies the tobacco in Amouage fragrances.
I love the opening of this - especially since I'm on a honey bender at the moment, but that doesn't hang around long enough. It's still there but the tobacco dominates.
SO, what I end up with is a sweet tobacco scent, which is too similar to what I get from Sunshine (even though the opening is completely different).
If the price was better I'd probably have both...

Jyrhara

I wasn't as lucky with the second sample from my set as with the first (see my review for Dia). I have the same experience as the reviewer Mbee: only tobacco, screeching and unpleasant on my skin. This effect with tobacco happened to me before, with ELDO's Jasmin et Cigarette.

amirali0072000

Amouage Journey is the best ..i loved Amouage so much.
Another good from Amouage that gets better (Journey)..
very rich scent. amazing
enriched with honey and cedar. Base notes of the composition are deep and warm
sillage and longevity are so good
Excellent and Different, exotic and top quality.
Very long lasting and leaves a trail during first 12 hours.
women love it.Just buy it

Mbee

The only note I can smell on my skin in this perfume is tobacco. I purchased a 1ml sample and have tried it out many times in different types of weather and the only thing that I get is tobacco.

This smells like Mr. Sheen Furniture Polish. Sharp, hissy, aerated florals, with a bitter-sweet chemical aftertaste.

It doesn't smell anything like the notes, and I sprayed from a tester bottle in a store, not a sample.

Horrible.

Journey is very stuffy on my skin. I felt almost offended by it in the shop and looked for something to rub it off with. I do smell leather in it. Or maybe it is the tobacco/nutmeg combination that makes that impression? Not for me anyway.

Of the Amouage's that I've tried so far I love Lyric, Ubar, Beloved, Honour and Dia and I like Ciel and Sunshine. But I'm not found of Gold and Journey.

a while back, on facebook, a high school friend of mine got depressed and descended quite rapidly, eventually leading to meth addiction. i haven't spoken to him in 15+ years, so i couldn't've done anything, but anyway, i went back over his facebook after the fact, and traced the specific moment when his whole world turned to shit. it's quite a morbid/morose thing to do, but i just wanted to get to the nucleus of his situation and examine the anatomy of his addiction. it was quite a harrowing experience...

anyway, i think i have just 'got' the moment when amouage went from fully-fledged arabic perfume house to a hollow quasi-arabian company selling perfume to westerners who may not know any better.
seriously, this smells like a million other western perfumes. in fact, this comes across like an avon perfume my mum has owned since the 1980s. it's depressing "how far they done fell"; we're talking about a company that would pump out attar after attar, each of them smelling like NOTHING i had ever smelt. and now they're pushing this stuff.
this is the equivalent of gangsta rappers making christmas albums. this is really disappointing...they've lost their arabic roots and there is nothing 'of the house' about this. for me, this is the moment i mentioned at the start of this review...tragic. the honey is cloying, the floral elements are like something a celeb would put out. i just can't see what quality/uniqueness/whatever warrants the price tag.
it's almost depressing...
a year ago, i was in oman and i visited the showroom in muscat, hoping they would have the attars (as apparently that's where all of the remaining attars around the world had been sent back to), and they didn't want to answer my questions. they ignored answering my questions about their back catalogue of attars, focusing more on the others' questions about ingredients etc. like some government official trying to silence any gossip about some hypothetical past indiscretion. like the history is being erased or re-written...
tragic.
most of the post-2003 output is quite meh, there are some magical scents, of course, but this is quite seriously poor. a scrubber.
never thought i'd be saying that about amouage. did no one proof-read this??? how did it get past quality control???

Playtime

This is the ultimate comfort scent to me. The perfect ambiance for this would be a rainy day in early spring or autumn with the sun peaking through. Me, curled up on the sofa with a good read. A hot cup of jasmine tea.
Maybe it is the apricot that reminds me of an english breakfast? Amouage Journey feels simultaneously cozy like an English B&B and mysterious as if it traveled from a bygone era in the Orient.

Kolchan

I'm in love in this beauty since I've tried it for the first time.
It starts with a very aromatic apricot jam with honey accord. Then refreshing tea and herbs come to the scene and they somehow lift the whole sweetness up to a new level.

There is a distinct tobacco note, it's not a harsh tobacco like in Chergui by Serge Lutens, it's tender mild slightly fruity pipe tobacco. Nevertheless it does its job well, prevents the perfume from being overly sweet and cloying.

Overall this composition reminds me of a tea ceremony in a meadow and I think Alice from Alice in Wonderland could wear this perfume. Such a happy and playful fragrance!

My grandma and then my mother used to make a special dessert.a wery nice warm creamy and delicious one;there was honey cardamom and saffron in it
Amouage journey smells just the same as that one for me&the only notes I can pick up ate these three
It is nostalgic and delicious and stays a lot but as a perfume I don't want to smell like this;never ever

What a sweet creamy floral nectar! It's warm, slightly fruity, and voluptuously inviting! Then it becomes sheer, allowing other aspects to come out (Amouage website has it as "leather" as well as floral).
Once you get past the initial sweet shock, it becomes very natural and comforting, like a cashmere sweater pre-soaked in osmanthus tea mixed with honey and milk~ It's absolutely gorgeous!

I've tested their entire woman's collection in one setting (twice); it occurs to me that all of their stuff has an old world "grand perfume" feel (except Reflection), yet somehow showcases modern trend and taste, which makes the brand special.. Well, this one stands out the most since it doesn't have that old world feel, yet is still rich (and uniquely wearable, but please DO NOT overdose)!

*My other favorites include Memoir, Interlude, Opus V, Jubilation XXV

im updating my update. as i spray this freaking gorgeous honey saffron effervescent monstrously good fragrance on in a happy-cloud this morning. ... the more i wear this thing the more i love it; the more its curious dull sweetness and sense of movement and openness grows on me. it is so interesting … because, hell, i don't really like florals. and def. i don't like sweet but i looooove journey woman! a sweet floral that is neither sweet nor flowery! literally *fascinating* -- i find myself stopping and wondering, how does it do this? be so one-pointed, and yet so full of possibility? the word for it is *tense* ... it pulls in more than one direction at once, like some kind of sexual-tension. smooth, even obvious on top (honey, honey), but underneath there's an important drama going on (jasmine-tobacco-saffron brawl). i can wear it for days. right now i don't want to smell of anything else again, ever. it makes my skin feel a meter deep in flowers, bees, fur, smoke and springtime. i’m amazed by the luke warm reception it gets, but also glad if it remains off the radar! ...this may be a subtle adventure, but it outscales all those shouty amouages by a million nuances in my opinion … compelling journey indeed :)

I'm shocked to see the negative reviews on this, though Im realizing Amouage scents really change in different weather and with different body chemistry. It's summer and very hot where I am. This scent develops so beautifully. Unlike others, the nutmeg and cardamom are the stars on my skin. It's so lovely spicy and warm. I used my entire sample in two days because I couldn't get enough. I'm going to purchase another sample before buying a full bottle because I'm actually afraid I received the wrong scent based on these reviews! Whatever I received is enchanting.

nanomira

First seconds are repulsive. :-) All I can smell is the tobacco or maybe the cypriol oil. I do not know the smell of it so I cannot tell if it is not a combination of tobacco and cypriol oil or just one of these ingredient itself. Nevertheless, once it dries down, what rests, is a very beautiful and warm scent. It stays strong throughout the day yet delicate. I would also call it luxurious. Although I expected the Journey to be very sweet, it actually is not. Surprisingly enough with all those sweet flowers and honey. I cannot smell particular notes in it because they all blend very nicely into a warm & woody-spicy scent. The Journey can make it into my top 5 perfume shelf. Men's version is also very nice.

kellybanana

Oh I love it! It was kind of fruity on me at first, but later it was a nice floral, and now, after a long shower somewhat 3 hours ago, it was still pleasant and fresh on my elbow. I am so glad that my Journey scent is not that honey-dominent, for I can't stand such sweetness on a warm day, especially with an empty stomach! I especially was (and still am) impressed when I was able to enjoy it when I was on my way home by metro this afternoon and as the breeze/draft/wind was passing by inside the tube...hmmm...really nice. I was grateful to test it at the counter after the salesday suggested it. I thought I would give Beloved a go but who would have thought I ended up with Journey eventually. It is a lovely surprise for me. Now I want a bottle!

AveParfum

There is no other house in my 20 years of perfume enthusiasm that makes me change my mind like the house of Amouage. I had to write a whole new review after re-visiting Journey Woman for probably the 14th time. Like Sunshine, Journey also requires warm weather to really blossom the right way on my skin. Now that the weather is warmer, I am finding this to be a much nicer perfume than I previously thought.

I never realized just how animalic the honey is. Like fine wine, olive oil, or coffee, honey also has countless flavor profiles and subtle nuances. There are times I had a spoonful of honey, and it was light and clean. Other times, I would sort of gag due to the pungent animalic flavor. The honey in Journey smells like the latter animalic honey.

I also smell saffron right from the start. Saffron has always smelled and tasted like honey to me, but it also has a nuttiness about it. Now add stewed apricots and sweet osmanthus, and you have a perfume that just wreaks of honey, honey, honey. This is by far the most honey I have ever smelled in any perfume. I happen to love it.

In the heart, I pick up green tea and jasmine, which add dimension to the globs of honey.

Journey reminds me of other syrupy peach perfumes on the market right now, especially Hedonist and Kiste. I own Hedonist, but it's not animalic and contains spice. Kiste is very nice, but there is one note (patchouli?) that is too aggressive. Journey turns out to be just right.

Bzzzzz.

My first review !

This was a gift from my wonderful man otherwise I would dispose of it-I cannot believe Amouage has put their name on this weak, watery disaster!
I have several Amouage scents and I usually love their creations but this is a horror.

It smells like the girls washroom in high school ,you know, the scent of cheap hair products coupled with cheap " body spray"?
Ick, ick, ick!

Amouage you should be ashamed of yourself!

22Sasa22

Wow , I really don't like it.

In my opinion, it doesn't deserve to be listed as an amouage perfume , and definitely doesn't worth the price. I have a new untouched bottle I don't know what to do with it.

The men's version is way much better.

becuille

This is only the second Amouage I've tried, after Ciel. The reason I chose this was actually because reviewers didn't seem to be liking it and since they felt the same way about Ciel (which I love), I figured maybe the less popular Amouage fragrances were the ones for me. Unfortunately, that wasn't too smart of me!

This is... fine. It's perfectly nice. But it's boring. We all know Amouage perfumes are very expensive and I feel for that sort of money, we should be getting something really special. This is a perfume I'd happily pay mainstream prices for, but it lacks that extra "je ne sais quoi" that you'd look for from a house like this.

The honey overwhelms everything. I wish it was a bit more reigned in. It's difficult to smell anything but honey for at least an hour. I was attracted to the promise of osmanthus because it's one of my favourite notes, but I don't really detect it at all, save for a slight whisper in the background.

It doesn't remind me of Hedonist, like many of the other reviewers, but it does make me think of Back to Black by Killian.

The dry down offers some lovely jasmine and musk, but the honey still dominates. I enjoy the kick of white flowers, but there just isn't enough of them. There's a wisp of cedar that offers a nice woody kick. I'm disappointed not to get any of the nutmeg on me though.

This is perfectly nice. It's just not special in any way and for my personal taste, the honey is too much. Ultimately, I find it forgettable.

rschmidt65

Whew! It was a relief to read the reviews after trying this. This does not smell like an Amouage. Typically I respect Amouage even when I can't like them but this one does not impress. All I get is something that reminds me of bees - a vague white flower smell and maybe some honey. Pretty weak sauce. Plus it has poor projection. I put a big spray on my wrist and promptly forgot all about it. Only thought of it when I wondered what I was wearing.

garamascara

I do not have much experience with Amouage, but I do not enjoy this at all. This is my second try and it hasn't grown on me at all. Reminds me of Riccola honey lemon cough drops.

alfarom

With some exceptions made, I generally prefer Amouage feminines to masculines but surely not in this case. I'm aware I'm gonna swim against the stream here but I honestly don't get JM. This has probably more to do with my personal tastes and penchant than to the fragrance itself but as a matter of fact, I just find Journey Woman a barely decent fruity floral.

The opening is too sickening sweet for me. A blast of honey and fruity-floral osmanthus with pale yellow floral facets. There's a shy jasmine note trying to claim its presence but it's overwhelmed by the apricot-y osmanthus. I rarely refer to fragrances as *feminine* or *masculine* but in this case this is really too gender-oriented for me. It gets a little better during the middle phase where sweetness is somewhat more balanced but still nothing that's able to hold my attention. In fact I had to scrub it off as I really couldn't find a single aspect to appreciate.

Now, I'm sure this does better on the right wearer but on me, I'm afraid this was 100% perfume-hell.

Ew. Sorry.

Rating: 4/10

chickenpotpie

Having tried this several times, the end result is the same; it really doesn't work for me.

Note wise, its great, there's honey, there's the semi moist florals, and I should enjoy it, and at first I really do. But about an hour into the drydown, there's this very odd, very pervasive, black plastic smell that permeates that entire scent and really makes wearing it very hard to bear. Yes I know all plastic smells like plastic, but this is just what I visualize when I smell it.

The first time it happened, I figured oh, its just me. The second, I made sure to wear the most neutral lotion ever (and this was even after a shower) the result however is the same. Third time is usually the charm but not in this case. I'm just glad its not actively burning plastic.

However, I will say that it does last (and last) even hard to wash off! But then again, when its a scrubber it would be.

If it works for you, then its undoubtedly heavenly, and I hate you. Unfortunate for me, this little issue I have effectively turns me right off of it.

cancerman827

its a very very classy perfume i give it 5 stars but men version its like cheap oud arabian perfumes but this one is heavenly

lulllull

Journey woman has not been blessed with a warm loving welcome such as Epic Woman or Lyric woman was. Creative director Christopher Chong is once again the brain behind Amouage's new fragrance. There is no way you can compare Journey to either Epic or Lyric. Booth thoose perfumes share something, Oman. Or atleast Omans heritage. Frankince and rose, booth ingridients well known in Oman.

Journey is just what it is called. A Journey. We travel to mr Chongs birth place Hong Kong. If this is the first episode of a travel around asia I cant wait for what comes next vecause to me, Journey woman lives up to the Amouage name just as much as Lyric and Epic does.

When I first had the pleasure to smell this very lovely perfume the character Joselyn Packard from cult tv series Twin Peaks came to mind. A very strong yet fragile woman full of flair with red lips, charcoal black hair smoking a cigar.
I like the duality between the soft shy osmanthus blossom colliding with thick rich honey, sexy tobacco fumes and narcotic jasmine.
This is a definitive future purchase for me and Ill be wearing it with black lace and my red ysl lipstick.

Thank you Amouage for taking us on a journey to the east.

little parrot

I tested Journey yesterday. It is a fragrance all about cinnamon and honey. The opening is cinnamon and nutmeg then it softens a bit, there comes the jasmin and in the drydown it is if a drop of honey is fallen on my wrist. (combined with the benzoin)
It is a scent for autumn and winter with a warm and cosy feeling, but for that feeling there are cheaper alternatives.
Imo it is not a Amouage masterpiece! (although the quality of the ingredients is there) With many new releases and the latest ones not being very special it becomes a less atractive brand. I do like DIA, Jubilation, Ubar and Gold for being real unique signature perfumes with high quality ingredients.

Update: 7 months later in spring, I tested it again, only strong osmanthus
and nutmeg!! it smelled like a very male perfume.

GBraque

This fragrance is so feminine. It is the scent you would imagine the female lead in a classic French film would wear. I love it!! The big disappointment however is that after a few hours the scent totally disappears and is undetectable. For the price tag this should not happen nor what I would expect from an exclusive fragrance house like Amouage.

myra83

My second impression about journey after i own my bottle today.. it realy chamge my preception previousley. I do love this jouney women than journey men.. journey men a bit touched simillar to interlude men but in soft way version. This journey women now one my favt. List with all my favt. In amouage family. Due i loved epic women so much so no problem with me to fell in love this journey. Among my favt lis in amouage line:

4)opus 8
5)opus1
6) honour women & men

8)reflection men & women
9)fate women
10) beloved men
11) journey women & men
12 ) opus 5

All above my favt list.. loved amouage sooo much..

As soon as I tried this I recalled my first time Amouage olfactory experience - Epic Woman. It was fascinating, shocking, groundbreaking, simply amazing. Journey Woman is almost the complete opposite for me - it's nice, has many notes I enjoy (honey, cardamom, apricot, osmanthus, mimosa), but the final thing is kinda meh; it's pleasant, but not more than a nice shampoo.
Another thing that bothers me here is a too strong "it reminds me of" feature - Journey Woman is just not unique enough. There are several similar smelling compositions out there (the first that came to mind is Datura Noir).
Shampoo-y and beachy? Amouage? Really??
I am probably mistaken, but smelling it feels like it has no oriental base, just floral-fruity notes floating around some spices and no leather at all (more pronounced leather or woody notes would really make a difference, though).
Honour Woman was the first one I disliked and now it has some company.
As far as I'm concerned, Beloved was the last masterpiece in the line, Interlude was a crossover.
I guess it means I am finally over Amouage :/

Serendipity1

Love it or hate it, it's wonderful.

Think of the french The Lover (L'Amant) film and you'll get it.

rossyegio5

Nura

On me for about two hours it smells like a fresh modelling clay. Brings good memories of childhood. I liked this fragrance very much.

mylancome

To all who haven't try this perfume: I can say it's a tobacco based perfume mixed with osmanthus, like wet ashtray. You may try the Men version, smells better for a tobacco perfume.

Kanz Oman

This has so much saffron & honey. Some how find it annoying.
Journey Man is even much better.

Houdini4

The feminine Amouage fragrances I've tried so far (bare in mind I've not tried them all) have all been pretty uninspiring in comparison to the Men's stuff which is in another league from anything you could find elsewhere and especially in the designer realm. I'm not being a snob here I just mean from a value point of view. I could wage the critism that some of the womens ones (fruity/musks etc..) could be found elsewhere cheaper.

Journey however ooozes quality despite being a playful and upbeat, fruity, floral scent. There's no way I could wear this but on my girlfriend it smelled fantastic just kept getting waves of apriot, yellow florals and spices. The main thing I noticed was jasmine a scent which I adore especially in the context presented here. So this is a fruity scent with a base of musk but with hints of heavier and warmer notes of honey, nutmeg and maybe tobacco although I didn't get a great deal of it. I spent an entire day smelling it on my girl and thought it was great and projected really well and lasted as you'd expect an Amouage fragrance to last.
Top marks for this one from me although it's a definite one for the ladies only in my opinion.

myra83

Its simlar to opus 8.. but silage a bit poor than opus8... longevity good!! But i loved epic women more than this..

majestic mammy

Amouage unique and very original creations, now have a new addition to their fragrance family. I am waiting for the hand cream of this to be released. I find they are milder and absolutely a wonderful alternative to their creations having the scent and hydrating the skin. Amouage lotions and creams are really superior.

journey woman a unique floral. Rich white floral. very original scent.
edit: ihave now tried both journey man&woman, a more than a few times. In my personal experience I fined journey man very nice. Man, is a tea smooth spice with unisex floral. Journey woman is louder. Contrary if mixed with lyric its amazing. On its own I would put in in the family of honour woman..why, im not sure.
I love amouge. Journey man is a hit and woman I find it takes bold confidence nouveau riche persona to make this new baby shine.
Edit 23rd of July,
I mistakenly broke a bottle sample of Journey Woman, The scent is truly feminine and just beautiful. I is a new creation and unique so it takes a few time for understanding it. Just beautiful. it has medium sillage and longevity is a day.
It is a optimistic scent an exotic classic has been created.
JOURNEY WOMAN MIXED WITH EPIC MAN OR EPiC WOMAN STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!
Journey Man Mixed with Epic Woman is Amazing.
Both Journey Man and Journey woman seem to have a magnificent blending quality.
I mixed Journey with TF fleur de chine and it was magnificent also.

voulevou

Amouage Journey is one of the best yet. I just bought it from Harrods and it's divine. I will be wearing this one for the day.

It smells good tough. I tried it allready

@Alex1984 Dear Alex, some people (I'm not sure who but probably those in perfume business) get early samples and they post reviews. Although I'm not sure if this is the case here, but just saying.
