Body by Burberry is a Chypre Fruity fragrance for women. Body was launched in 2011. The nose behind this fragrance is Michel Almairac. Top notes are Peach, Wormwood and Freesia; middle notes are Rose, Sandalwood and Iris; base notes are Musk, Cashmere Wood, Vanille and Amber.

Burberry presents their new fragrance Burberry Body that arrives on the market on September 1st 2011 in over 150 countries worldwide. "Burberry Body is the most exciting launch that we have ever created and captures the iconic spirit of the brand today in a striking and sensual way." - says Christopher Bailey, creative director of the brand.

Launching the new perfume Burberry Body is accompanied by attractive advertising commercial with photos of naked actress and model Rosie Huntington-Whitely, star of Transformers 3 - Dark of The Moon, wrapped in popular raincoat by Burberry. 24 year old Rosie, one of Victoria's Secret angels in cooperation with photographer Mario Testino, managed to accentuate woman's body and highlight the curves discretely in the provocative advertising campaign.

"It's a huge honour to be working with Burberry again," said Rosie speaking about her cooperation with Burberry. "[It's] a brand that put my career on the map and helped launch me. To be asked to be the first Burberry Body is an amazing compliment."

Body Burberry is a luxury chypre - fruity composition that begins with notes of fresh green absinthe, peach and freesia. Roses and iris are in the heart, leaning on the base of sandalwood, cashmerean, musk, amber and vanilla.

Available as EDP.

I absolutely love this. A woody rose with subtle vanilla when dry. There’s also some powder and a shampoo vibe. This reminds me so much of Lancôme Magnifique which I miss terribly. I wish these weren’t discontinued. Longevity could be better.

Edit: I purchased this online and accidentally ordered two. I’m not upset in the least - this is so good!

MyScentBubble

I love this but my dog hates it ! He always runs away from me when i wear it and leans backwards when I go to pet him lmao and if I touch or hug him he'll immediately go and rub the scent off himself, all while looking at me with suspicion in his eyes 😆 can never wear it

Freakyindia

Wearing this feels like you've dusted yourself with a good amount of powder, and I totally like it. It's the kind of scent that makes you wanna give the person wearing it a big hug. Definitely nice and pleasant vibes all around.

Pewbom

I love the smell!
This is so underrated and unique . it's a muky, powdery scent. On the clothes, it smells like clean skin with a vintage fancy luxury body powder on top of it. And it’s a bit sweet on me. The smell is so expensive and beautiful.
And to me I rather to smell like an expensive body powder than a strawberry cake

Charlie bowie

This is quite unique. I have never tried anything like this before. To me it smells almost makeupey, kinda like 2000's perfumed liquid foundations. But very very boozy, like a sticky Rum chocolate cake.

as soon as i took its top off, i realized how much i missed it. i knew i missed it, hence replacing, but whew. if you wake up, your coffee doesn't hit quite right, still dragging your feet getting ready for work...let this be your finishing touch. you will suddenly be ABSOLUTELY *ready* thanks to this little punch. i only ever knew Body in the past as a throw-away spray-of-the-day: didn't know what else to wear, just kind of grabbed it out of the perfume cabinet and said, 'good enough.' and how horrible of me! :( Body was surrounded by vanillas, woods, tonkas and the like, and it was this tall bottle that begged to be sprayed (i think it's literally why i wore it as frequently as i did--it wasn't terribly expensive back then, and the bottle demanded my attention). i wish i would have reviewed this back then to see how my written opinion would differ now.

not juicy-peachy, but the smoothness of peach. it's reminiscent of my mom's old bottle of Calvin Klein's Escape that i hold onto out of sentiment. some similarities, but mostly in "vibe." this starts so sharp but, unlike Escape, almost immediately it's calm and collected. epitome of pretty. it's so odd to smell this again; i smell the notes of course, almost every single one, but i really smell the law firm hallways, the client handshakes, the wet-ink signatures, the blowout, heels and little dresses. it's SO WEIRD. i got this around the same time my divorce finalized, summer 2017. it's more fitting to my tastes now, but not so much to my life. this is for sure the work-scent. 100%. but in the way Libre is described as the boss-lady scent, this is the assistant scent. it's not the mommy scent...most of my day is spent being a mom, even while i'm working from home. i feel like this would be best worn, for me, to run errands, i suppose. a little fancy for that, considering it can be a little pricey when you can find it. but nothing about this is fancy, necessarily. super sexy in its way--i can imagine this after a romp, ya know. a little sweaty and radiant...fresh-out-the-shower sex. i think the cashmere is what really solidifies that. the musk is what gets you there though. the woman wearing this is huggable, and then kissable, and then before you know it...she's naked! not powdery. but i am a narciso girl, so don't listen to me.

i'm so happy i have it again. i think it will have its time and place. probably will be used far less frequently than before, and, as opposed to having worn this when i wasn't trying to say much at all, i'll probably wear it when i want to say something very specific with my scent. something along the lines of, "please get out of my way--i got shit to do, kids to take care of, and a man to get home to and please!"

Well, with Body, by Burberry, the bottle and the name of the perfume, came first. I smell it in the duty free airport in Colombia, around 2011. I was hooked as much with the fragrance as with it's name. Body. I just love the name "Body" and I haven't been able to find another perfume that mixed up with my hormones and chemestry since Body. I don't know where can I find this perfume again. My last bottle was empty almost nine or eight years ago. Can someone recomend me another perfume with the same notes? Me and Body where soul&perfume.

AnneAnne888

I tried a sample size of this today and I really like it a lot. It's soft, warm, sweet, sexy and cozy all at once and a touch candyish in a good way. I realize everyone's body chemistry and their olfactory senses affect how they perceive and react to a fragrance, but I don't get the hate and I certainly don't get the ever so rude and repetitive "old lady" vibe from it. ( Sooo tired of hearing that )To me it's a very modern and young vibe but truthfully it reminds me a lot of Burberry Her, and makes me wonder if that is a reintroduction and reconfiguration of this because this is discontinued and they smell very similar. I'm surprised no one noticed that. I've said this before, but I can't help but wonder if the fragrances were tried without knowing the actual notes beforehand would they come out with things like " it's the wormwood that killed it for me"lol, really? Is anyone that familiar with the scent of wormwood ? Perfume like a song, is a compilations of notes, focusing on specific notes is like saying, I really thought I would like this song but the c flat killed it for me lol,or I don't hear the B flat in this at all lol. Perfume is a scent symphony to be taken in at once and appreciated for all the different stages of the song as they both have an opening, a middle and wind down. I feel like some people actually stress about a fragrance rather than enjoy it. Take it all in instead of picking it apart and enjoy it,not just this fragrance but any. You will either like it or not, but you don't need to hate on it like you want everyone else to hate on it too. I will give my opinion of a perfume I don't like without using insulting terms or trying to make everyone else who likes it feel like they are crazy. Lighten up, it's really not that serious.

snowangeline

i will forever be obsessed with this fragrance. it’s an ambery-musky HEAVEN. my favorite thing about it is that it starts off really strong and tangy, it’s a really sexy and mature scent, and then it dries down into a soft vanilla, cozy scent. everything about this fragrance is lovely to me, definitely forever my signature scent. it’s super reasonably priced too, i usually get it for around 50 dollars. OBSESSED!!

Snow1809

As an amber, peach and musky notes lover — I couldn't find them. It was a good bargain for this perfume at Sasa but I would never repeat. It's a boring perfume and I gave it to my husband. He said that it is unisexual.

Moonami

I think it is the wormwood that ruined it for me. Smells like someone who showered and smelled nice but wore a stinky old unwashed top. A bridge from hell between clean powdery shower smell and body odour.

I gave it away! :/

ella_bm

I mistakenly bought it based on what I smelled on the bottle without spraying it (I know, ugh) which smells exactly like natural vanilla extract: super boozy vanilla, actually really nice! but I sprayed it on me and I smelled like a elderly woman. I left it in my closet for 3 years without touching it once. Now, for the first 2 hours, I still smell a medicinal grandma-y rose, but it slowly dries down to a nice mature vanilla with a slight tinge of older woman, as my skin trends to hold onto floral notes the longest.

alaankora

An office friendly fragrance.
I suggest it for winter and fall seasons.
The most recognizable notes to my nose was the powder of musk and wood.

Long lasting

nicbat

Elegant, mature, sexy, confident.

mirisfrik

This is one very personal perfume. It seems like clean office friendly choice, but not! There’s sth intimate in it. Like exposed Naked skin. I wouldn’t wear it in any other ocassion but the moments shared with My better half. It’s something i want to keep just for us

Homage

20 minutes of sharp fresh peach with a kick of bitter medicinal wormwood. 2 hours of dirty dusty freesia and rose with some cloying vanilla, then gone. Cheap old lady frag for TJ Maxx impulse shoppers.

Markellam92

It's like a soft rose Turkish delight kind of scent, like a warm blanket. It has pretty good longevity, definitely not for hot summer days though but for all the other seasons😍that one I will always repurchase.

2whit2quit

So glad I got a sample first. This is not for me. It must be the cashmere because this gives me the same vibes as Cashmere Mist.

pinotos802

Sexy, elegant, timeless, but also a bit mature. Fresh and powdery, very complex and lovely! Great performance as well.

Lya1234

The opening was very rose heavy to my nose, which I seemed not to like. But after half an hour or so - the dry down became this intoxicating blend of herbaceous and floral, with some sweetness and warmth, and I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist for hours. The longevity seems good on me - I could still smell it on my skin the morning after.. Might update once my full bottle arrives. Sad that this was discontinued

nisarsarah9

My most favorite scent. Love the longevity and sillage of this fragrance. It stays on the skin and clothes for so long even if we wear it again after a while. This one is definitely my go to choice and smells really sexy.

v0n

Not a blind buy, get a sample first please. By the notes, I thought I'd want a full bottle, thank goodness my partner got me a sample. This to me, smells great on testing strips but definitely not for my skin, unfortunately. I was hoping the dry down will change my mind but nope.. what a bummer

d_silent_one

So freaking sexy.

correspondencepersonal

The beginning starts with more of a brightness, but quickly moves into more of a classic scent which I would say is in the same genre as Channel's Mademoiselles (without the scratchy notes that make Channel's DNA smell "stuffy"). This is for the woman that is "all pulled together"... someone with really good taste - but someone who is not commanding too terribly much attention. Someone who is comfortable enough in her own skin to desire to "blend in" - rather than "stand out". Due to this quality, it comes across as more of a slightly "introverted" perfume (possibly even RESERVED) - rather than one screeching for attention and overly "extraverted". This is for the woman that is comfortable in her own skin and is not putting on airs. Someone who is operating from more of a soul essence - rather than a force of will.

This is on the opposite end of the continuum/spectrum - than some of the heavy, spicy perfumes of the 1980's (which I still dearly love - and will continue to wear, on occasion...however, this perfume is the type of perfume that is a modern/fresh take on the more modern perfumes.

This perfume has a minimalist type quality - it is refined, classically elegant.
Once this hits the dry down phase - this is the rose-pink version of Beauty by Calvin Klein, without the chemical interplay that happens with the jasmine blooms.

The marketing of this perfume leans more salacious than the perfume, actually.
However, I agree that this has a "beige" quality about it.

This is the perfume version of a rose-beige color wash, fairly classic, grounding. This perfume's dry down is extremely "Classic", this could definitely be worn to the office without offense, but the beginning is much more sharp and bright. I would probably spray this - and wait about 30-40 minutes before going into the office. The beginning of this is much more bright and bold than the dry down.

After taking several months off to wear other perfumes, I'm coming back to this perfume - looking at it as a good choice for a spring/summer perfume. My initial impressions of this perfume are much different now - after wearing a couple of more bright, bold sweet/sour perfumes such as Joyful by Escada and L'Imperatrice 3 by Dolce and Gabbana.
Funny - sometimes it takes trying some perfumes on the more extreme ends - to recognize the value of coming back towards the middle. Perhaps perfume and politics have that in common. In this case - it seems so.

-----------

There is nothing wrong with this perfume.
On the right person, this would be lovely.
However, it doesn't really DO anything - for me.
It is playing things overly safe - timid - too shy to actually make any waves.
I think that I need a perfume that makes much more of a statement.

-------------

This perfume starts out fairly bold and energetic - and then it fades into the typical drivel that happens when someone gets into a system and begins to realize that they should just "shut up" and not say much - because they are not going to be heard - anyway.

This perfume ends up being all "politically correct" - about everything...
So much so that they haven't really found their voice.
They don't have an opinion on ANYTHING.
They are just happy to stand back and watch everything as it unfolds - but do not want to play a part in changing the course of history.

They have learned that it is better to be quiet - and or more timid - than to make any form of statement.

------------

There are days when I can wear this - when I'm needing to take a time out and process all that I have been doing... just to reflect.
Then there are days when I really need to recharge my batteries - and wear a perfume that has more gumption.

tmt69

The first time I tested this I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist! This scent opens with a sharpness (the wormwood?) that somehow makes my mouth water. It dries down to a soft, powdery scent with an interesting bite to it. The longevity and sillage are very good. This is a perfume for a woman who knows her own mind and is well put together.

Ghadah02

This fragrance exudes an air of luxury with its delicate and refined essence, reminiscent of expensive powder. It exudes a lightness that is pleasing, devoid of any overpowering elements. The scent is accompanied by a subtle blend of clean and fruity notes.

It appeals to women with a classic style, often associated with a sense of "old money," yet it avoids any vintage connotations, boasting a thoroughly modern composition.

This perfume's uniqueness lies in its selective charm; it may not be universally appealing but possesses its own distinctive character. Those who can carry it off will find themselves enveloped in an aura of elegance and high standards.

Unfortunately, this exceptional fragrance has been discontinued, adding to its exclusivity and making it a treasure for those fortunate enough to have experienced its allure.

amgenus2015

Burberry has a way of smelling unsurprisingly British and matronly. You always know what you’re going to get from this DNA. It’s comforting and nostalgic, but not my choice for daily wear.

I get a lot of the powder, and none of the fruitiness from this fragrance, which I typically love but just a note for anyone interested in possible scent profiles on the skin.

Toady89

I remember smelling this when I first started dating my partner and loved it, so he bought me a bottle when he got his paycheck. Haven't had it for years but would love to have it again.

Nkosana

This perfume projects. I once bought it for my ex. Very fruity and sweet.

Kuty22

I believe I have this perfume for over 2 years and before, I used to classify this, as a blind-buy fail.
Now, I finally appreciate it
It's so quiet and clean.
It's not a love but it's an easy reach on warmer days

AphroditeLeStrange

Omg... The Wormwood in this is stellar. I think I'm in love with this gem!

suzanne_ronald

Soft Peach-Chypre with a TEA & HONEY drydown. A classic "your skin but better" scent that projects, this scent is perfectly pitched at the changing of the guard from deep-peach scents of the 1990s and early 2000s, like Tresor Lancome, to contemporary rose scents, like Idole Lancome & Chloe EDP Chloe. Signed by perfumer Michel Almairac (Gucci Rush), this beauty opens with a burst of soft, peach chypre and dries down to dew drops, honey and cashmere. In the air I get a well blended "your skin but better" vibe of dew drops and honey that is difficult to pick out individual notes, and on the skin I get honey, tea & pencil shavings.

Contrast to Body by Burberry EDT:
Also composed by Michel Almairac, these are very similar, although the EDT is slightly less sweet, and the tannic component is more obviously a tea note. Both are well above average performance-wise.

Contrast to Body Tendre by Burberry:
Also composed by Michel Almairac, these are very similar, although Body Tendre is more rose forward. Both are well above average performance-wise.

Contrast to Chloe EDP Chloe:
These are different, especially in the openings where Chloe EDP is more about fresh rose, but the drydown of Body EDP reminds me of Chloe EDP with the sweet tea vibe. Roughly equivalent performance.

Contrast to Tresor Lancome:
Although these have been compared, I find them quite different. However, there are some similarities in the final drydown of Body Burberry, after the tannic component fades, I get a lingering whiff of the 'hug-me accord' made famous by perfumer Sophia Grojsman (Tresor Lancome, Exclamation Coty, Volupte Oscar de la Renta) which shows itself in many of her compositions, Tresor Lancome included.

Contrast to Gucci Rush Gucci:
With its cult following, it's difficult to compare anything to Gucci Rush, and while these are very different scents. both are composed by Michel Almairac and there are some similarities with both being a peach chypre. Body by Burberry I only detect peach chypre in the opening whereas with Gucci Rush I get more of a peach chypre throughout with a prominent Lily of the Valley note that isn't present in Body by Burberry. I personally find the performance of Gucci Rush underwhelming (likely due to reformulation) unlike Body by Burberry which always exceeds my expectations of longevity and sillage.

Overall: Well above average performance that becomes beast mode when layered over its matching body lotion. It's a longtime love for me!

Mona708

This is my second favorite Burberry scent so far after Burberry Her. It’s so gentle and cozy; it reminds me of a sweet powdery shower gel. I was pleasantly surprised by the longevity- I could still smell it on my skin after about thirteen hours! This is another Jack-of-all trades scent good for pretty much any occasion.

thehazysea

I saw a bottle of this in TjMaxx and for the sake of nostalgia (and that beautiful bottle) I decided to pick it up at a very decent price. Upon first sniff I was slammed back in time to the autumn of 2012. I’m listening to Taylor Swift’s Red album and drinking a PSL. I’m watching Cara Delevingne walk in the Burberry Fall Fashion Show. Harry Styles is in attendance and I spend most of my time daydreaming about him, and One Direction in general. I am posting about all of these things on my Tumblr. I am over spraying Burberry Body before hitting the bars, which I can do now because I just turned 21. I feel slightly elevated from my peers, who are all wearing VS Pink body sprays. I am happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time. It’s miserable and magical, oh yeah

Lagunita

Almost every opinions stated already are true. Is on the powdery side but, will NOT dry out your Olfactory senses almost causing cotton-mouth problems, instead will embrace you in a soft Cashmere afterglow. The peach and rose is nice but not cloying. Applause 🍑

Sassafras23

I’m among those who enjoy this fragrance. This scent is cozy, creamy and powdery. There’s a bitterness to it (and it does not go away despite being a top note, assuming it’s wormwood), but somehow it harmonises with other notes. This must be the perfumer’s skill on show in achieving this harmonious unity. Body has a distinct identity. Other than its Tender sibling, it’s like nothing else among the fragrances I know (which admittedly is not many). I agree with raerrr, that it has to be worn in cool weather, otherwise it’s headachy. I disagree with those who describe it as light - it definitely isn’t, and judging by mixed reactions, not office-friendly either.

Fatima1219

I am wearing Body in honor of my beautiful Mother. I lost her six years ago today, unexpectedly. My Mother loved many gorgeous fragrances and had a vast collection of perfumes. Burberry was one of her favorite houses. Body was one of her favorite fragrances from the House of Burberry. Although Body is not one of my favorites--it smelled exceptionally well on her--and I am wearing it today in her honor. Upon initial spray, Body is a power house in full beast mode, lol. I get big rose, sandalwood, freesia, and musk. Then, it dries down to a powdery, amber-y skin scent? Lol
Then, you smell again, and nothing! It totally disappears after 3 hours! This fragrance has to be reapplied every so often because it has very poor lasting power on skin. It does waft if it is sprayed on clothing, that's a good thing. This fragrance is great for the business woman, who makes her own rules! Body is not for everybody, lol. And, this is definitely not a safe blind buy.

Nocciola23

This is such a gorgeous scent. It's a perfectly blended sweet floral that smells much more expensive than it is.
For years I looked past this hidden gem from the Burberry line, with a name like 'body' I expected it to be a very intimate, skin scent but it's not. It's another great sweet floral from Michel Almairac with great sillage and longevity. The peach gives it a sweetness with the rose but I also get a strong iris hit from this.
I don't love powdery iris perfumes, I find them reminiscent of talcum powder, but this is beautiful and the powder is so slight.

This is a true classic.

raerrr

This is my just out of the shower, hopping back in bed with a good book on a cold day fragrance. On my skin, this is a peachy powdered scent. The wormwood, sandalwood, vanilla and amber balance out the powder and musk notes nicely. This is extremely long lasting for me, even with just one spray! I can’t wear this one on a bad migraine day as this is rose and iris heavy. This is absolutely NOT a summer fragrance! It becomes overwhelming and immediately turns my stomach in the heat of the desert! Out of much trial and error, this juice shouldn’t be worn at temperatures above 65 F

gokcekurt

I tried it out as a teenager and it was a BIG mistake. All I remember is the heavy rose smell, how nauseous it made me and the headache it gave me. UGH

rubydoll

I've just finished the mini 4ml but despite my lid being on and stored carefully it has evaporated, I've only had it 6 months. My chemistry has changed and now my skin likes peach. I get the rose, and I generally have gone off powdery notes now, but this one was quite gentle. However it's disappeared within the hour. The middle notes of sandalwood are not noticeable but adds the warmth.
I liked it as a first intro to Burberry, I would wear it happily if bought for me, but I won't buy it for myself.
I think it's quite lovely and don't get anything else but a gentle rose peach.
Worn on a 9 degree centigrade day, not sure how it'd be on a summer's day, but it's nice if I smelled it on anyone else.

Mirabele

this doesn't sit well with me, i am not exactly sure why. i really wanted to like it and i have bought it several times to try but it just wasn't right. that bitterness is too much to handle, and that rose doesn't make much sense to me. i wouldn't describe that bitterness as medicinal, but it is not entirely herbal either. i know burberry scents quite well and like many of them and i know a certain bitterness is always there, that is what makes them interesting, easy to wear and suitable for use in professional settings. but this one is just too much for me, i have earlier tried it in summer, it wasn't right time, now it is winter but it doesn't feel right season for it either. i will try again since i so want to like it, i love the concept, the bottle and i usually have good luck with that color in perfumes. i hope i will change my mind

vanilie

ohhhh, if only it wasn't so light on me but it's got the whole intimate theme going for it. it smells like a nice musky peachy rose-y body lotion. i've been on the lookout for cozy, simple and comforting scents and this def fits the bill for me (plus i love me some peaches). i don't get any type of medicinal stuff. really like it for what it is!

Mollija

I see many people say this smells like medicine. On me there is 0% medicine. On me it's luxury, powdery peachy casmire pink blush. Cozy and light. I think my skins chemistry just brings out the best from this perfume.

Htheone

This a good scent, easy to wear, versatile. Should make more than the current 3.63 rating.

pandasperfume

This is super nice, soft, powdery rose once it dries down in the summer. For the most part though, it has a harshness on me that never goes away.

Today I mixed it with a super sickly sweet gourmand rum scent; Guess by Marciano for Her. It gave me exactly what I wanted, a sweeter, less harsh and less herbal Burberry Body.

If you find this harsh or too strong, try mixing it with a deep gourmand scent and see how you like it. Also spray from an arms length away (about 1 foot) to avoid some alcohol/intensity.

Now I feel it is wearable and perfect. Both scents have been enhanced.

BrittJ

Cozy warm fragrance. Winter is when I would wear it. I love this fragrance.

sravz

It was super fun and exciting perfume. I had lot of good times with it. Powdery in good way, rose and sandalwood are doing the magic. Wooden notes compliment the floral. It was my signature perfume for some time. Loved the bottle.

hypercaine

This smells like a rich and popular girl wearing Guerlain blush. Very prominent peach and powder, works very well on my skin. Great longevity. One of my favorite fragrances (I enjoy powdery scents in general).

epona1705

This is a lovely fruity-powdery fragrance! Goes with any outfit, casual or dressy!

yacoco

I can't forget the scent still in my memory
Doesn't meant I love it but I find unique and have character
You can feel a luxury fragrance for poor people but still good

SummerRose

A blind buy success! I love this perfume. It's smells well blended, refined and appropriate for up close encounters. However, people will smell you at arm's length.

On my skin, I can smell the rose, freesia, wormwood, musk, amber and vanilla. The notes just work so well together making it a really beautiful fragrance. I have nothing in my collection that smells like this! I think the name really suits the fragrance.

I think it's great for autumn and it wouldn't be too strong to offend anyone but you will be able to smell it on you.

There are nixed reviews about this perfume so it might be best to try before you buy. Also, remember, everybody's taste is different and also their body chemistry. The great thing about perfume, is that it is subjective and what works well with some, may not work for others. Keep an open mind.

Sorfan

Burberry have announced that they are reformulating. It is a pity as I’m sure Almairac’s original version must have been better blended and more sophisticated. I have never tried a perfume from a luxury brand that smelled like no thought or regard for quality went into it. I cannot imagine who this fragrance could appeal to. My bottle was made two months ago. The scent doesn’t last. I can smell a cocoa powdery throat lozenge, probably the one all the reviewers are talking about bellow. Even if it is available at discount prices, it is not worth buying.

100LL

agreed about the weird synthetic note. it smells like a doctors waiting room.

Do not recommend..there is a weird medicinal synthetic smell to this, i am also not a fan of peaches in fragrances especially when it is prominent

ohmyitsabbey

Oh wow. This meshes beautifully with my skin and makes me smell like a spicy, sweet, ethereal goddess. It's the most unique scent in my collection, a total blind buy, but I LOVE it.

MiniMena

I have been testing this all weekend. I knew about it...had a sample...but wasn't interested....until now. I think I was more into gourmands when I first purchased the sample. Recently though, I heard à couple u-tube reviews about it and dug out my little sample. It is gorgeous! Just what I've been looking for. I ordered mine today. It's like a cozy, yet sexy fragrance. Its absolutely beautiful!

loonad

Floral and classy

EgyptianMusk89

Medicinal baby powder.

nonelle

I wanted to like this, but there's some sort of weird synthetic, medicine-like smell on my skin.

ilovetess

I wish I could smell the peach more. On me it’s just very powdery, clean, very mature…too mature for me. Old lady headache inducing vibes. I’ve had it on for 30 minutes and I want to scrub it off.

este96

Blind buy! Probably wont ever again! I'm always amazed at the seemingly contrary perceptions of fragrances. I get woods ,WOODS, maybe even pencil shavings! Then an almost metallic/aquatic type note. Not much else! I don't hate it... I intend to use it in crafting my own scents.....especially when I think they could use some good old grounding, soft woods.LOL. Thankful for the gift of olfactory senses!

Vanillastorm40

Received this as a sample along with an order I placed and all I can say about this is that it is "perfumey"...I don't smell any of the notes listed. It's just a basic meh 😑 for me. It did last a long time though, unfortunately.

PinkHydrangea

Was quite nice when sprayed on paper but my skin amplifies what I assume is the wormwood note, making it smell very green (which I don't want) and a bit sour? Gave the almost full bottle to my mom and it smells lovely on her. No sourness, nothing green, on her it is roses, peaches, musk and amber.
Not safe for blind buy, recommend testing on skin.

Fragrancewonder

The peach turned sour on my skin, not what I was expecting. Tried giving it a try in cooler weather still a no go.

Atina365

I love it! I tried a tester. It works great with my skin chemistry. It’s subtle and effective. I agree with the “after sex” comparison.

akaisha0

Okay-ish, Fall for sure, MAYBE spring if used at night, Femme side of unisex. Day or night.

I don't know what kind of sex everyone here is having to make people think of sex when smelling this.

Initial: Smells like alcohol even when dry. It was really strong at first to the point I was getting a headache but it calmed down fast. I get a basic, generic woody/incense/amber note but it's subtle. The rose and a generic brighter floral are more prominent. Initially it's quite strong overall.

1 hour in: The woody notes have virtually disappeared being replaced with a dusty rose. Very powdery, in no way green. Alcohol scent is still strong. The other florals are really overpowered by the rose and alcohol. 10x more subtle at this stage but you can still smell it. It doesn't smell like it's dying so much as a deliberate mellowing.

2 hours in: The dusty rose is still there and alcohol scent is dying off giving way to the brighter florals. Much more subtle as a scent overall.

3 hours in: The rose is dying off leaving a generic, sweet iris scent. It's the first time I can clearly pinpoint iris. It's odd as it never smelled sweet before this point. It feels like a completely different scent at this point.

4 hours in: Scent is largely gone. You can smell a little bit of the lingering iris but that's with your nose up against the test strip TRYING to find it. At this point it also started turning a bit sour. I think some of the freesia is finally noticeable to my nose.

5 hours in: Gone. Minor soapiness remaining but, really, it's gone.

Note: I get 0% of the peach. I feel the sweetness that kicks in at hour 3 comes purely from the floral, not the fruit. I'm not sure if I can comment on the wormwood as I have no idea what that's supposed to smell like and I can't say I'd pick it out in this. Cashmir wood I definitely did not smell. At least to my understanding, cashmir wood scents tend to smell sharp and almost rotten to my nose and that wasn't here.

Note 2: I used a testing strip left exposed to air. I did not wear myself as my chemistry drastically affects scent.

Melaniesherriff

I get woody sweet musk with a hint of rose. It's got great silage and lasting power. Good price as well. Compliments by quite a few colleagues. I like expensive sophisticated scents like this. This is going on my repeat buy list

haleykbhenry

It smells like luxury and that afterglow of sex. It's a very pretty.

I've heard this described as that after-sex smell and I do agree. It's like when you wake up in the morning after having an intimate night with that one guy that just gets you and tells you you're beautiful in all the right ways. You wearing your favorite perfume smelling like a goddess and your partner is wearing his cologne and you spend the day rolling around in some fresh sheets, having fun (if you know what I mean). It has character but isn't overdone. Easy to throw in your bag, elegant bottle design, and a no brainer for all occasions

VictoriaJune

I used to love this perfume about 10 years ago and wore it all the time. Recently revisited and I still like it but it doesn't smell quite the same as I remember, not as powdery or yummy (?) maybe the formulation or my body chemistry has changed? I wanted to love it again, but its just a like this time unfortunately. The packaging and bottle design is still spot on though!

octobersun

This one definitely has more masculine dry down than many fragrances that are marketed for men. I like to wear some masculine fragrances, but this one made me a bit uncomfortable sometimes.

ParanormalFreaks

Smells like what Macy’s smell like- it’s not a bad scent by any means, just not anything special. To me it smells like a minty shampoo with some type of green smell in there. It’s not really any LOUD sweet but there is an earthy sweet. The longevity is fine but I can’t really smell it on myself unless I lift my arm up. Overall, I wouldn’t buy again but I’m not holding it against the perfume because it’s just down to my preference. :)

d4hlia

Tried this today. At first i really liked it, a powdery elegant scent. After like an hour, i can only smell the rose and it is unbearable to me.

GabbyVersusThe

If a sophisticated and elegant Burberry trenchcoat had a scent, it would smell something like this.

A little goes a long way and performance is above average but this perfume isn't really to my liking. Burberry Body is a bit too fancy and mature for me.

ekhlasza

I disagree with this being light. It's so heavy to me and it gives me headache.

Estacey3

Smells like what you would imagine an expensive classy boutique to smell like. It's more of a lux room than body fragrance for me.

mhill46

I can’t understand the love for this. It’s so heavy and sweet to me I can’t figure out why everyone thinks it’s so “light”. I like powdery scents but the peach note is insanely heavy and makes this unbearable. I don’t like it at all. To me this is on par with the heavy and suffocating nature of a lot of the older heavier perfumes from the 80s. Not light or fresh at all. It’s too much and gives me a headache.

darlindol

This was a blind buy and I have to say it is the first blind buy that I have EVER been this in love with! It's such a rich, deep, classy, mature but not elderly, subtly sweet beast of a perfume. It smells like honeyed coffee and roses wafting around me. The sillage is a bit stronger than arms length but a bit weaker than 6 ft, but oh my goodness is it worth smelling. To note, my body naturally emphasizes grassy and woody notes, so I think that's why this works so well for me. Definitely a keeper and I will be buying more bottles so I never run out.

ClaraDelValle

I wore this in my late teens/early twenties and remember it being an easy, clean sort of scent. Nothing particularly remarkable, just an easy grab, very office appropriate. Classy and demure, for sure.

Holliebobollie

Pleasant shampoo smell

Snempuza

I've fallen in love with this perfume. It's dry down is absolutely amazing. It also doesnt irritate me during the day. I love it

sinditia

This was my favourite perfume before I started getting into more complex, masculine type fragrances. I still really love it, and I might keep buying it if I run out, just to have it in my collection for nostalgia's sake. Plus it isn't very expensive and gets discounted at drug stores quite often.

This scent is a bit hard to describe. It's extremely well-balanced. I can't really pick up any of the notes it says it has. It's both floral and fruity without being outright either of those things. I agree that it is powdery but in a refined kind of way, not something that reminds you of talcum. It's just fresh and bright and sparkly and very, very pretty in a demure and not-overly-feminine way.

Also, I don't know how to explain it, but I feel like the packaging it comes in is the perfect embodiment of what the scent is. It's like a physical manifestation of the fragrance. The soft peach colour and the slender, luxuriously hefty glass bottle and the rose-gold check-patterned cap. I don't know. Packaging is very important to me. There's a lot of great fragrances out there but I want to have the whole experience, you know? I like looking at pretty things and having pretty things on display.

Burberry Body perfume is like a minty green bubblegum. It is fun and upbeat with more of a sweet, slightly sharp, "bubble gum" smell (mint is not found in the list of ingredients, but the notes of Burberry Body appears to have mint notes which makes this come across like a dentist's tooth polish - the kind that they use when you are in the chair having your teeth cleaned) - this is a similar dental note that I detect in the original David Yurman (gold bottle) perfume. [This is almost identical to the notes with in Viva la Juicy perfume (the original) - but VLJ is more of a softer chord of the notes of Burberry Body. Burberry Body has sharper individual notes that peak out. VLJ is like the overall impression of the chord.]

Body is young and more juvenile than "The Beat" by Burberry, however - this could be worn by any woman of any age. This is fresh, clean, bright, animated, with an upbeat attitude that is optimistic. This perfume is the antithesis of the word "mature" - this perfume is having WAYYYYYyyy too much fun to be too overly serious or stodgy. This would be a great perfume to wear for your days off when you need to be reminded to let go, have fun, and enjoy life a bit more. But I could also see wearing to work, to keep things more playful, light, creative, and fun. You know, this would be a fabulous teacher's or mother's fragrance, because I'll bet children would love this!

Body leans more spring/summer - but could be worn year round for an energizing lift during the autumn and winter.

Burberry Body is sweeter and possibly more juvenile than Burberry's "The Beat" perfume, but both have a vivacious lift to the notes with that type of Tinker Bell sparking quality to it, when they are first sprayed. The longevity of Burberry Body is short, but the notes are nice while this lasts.

(Burberry Body reminds me of some of the sweet upper notes in Viva La Juicy's original perfume).

Burberry Body starts with a bubblegum brightness which seemed to last no more than an hour. I loved the general effect of it, just wished that it lasted longer. I agree with the comments in the reviews that state -- I wish that I could wear this, the first notes of this were vivacious and energizing - a great optimistic type blend. I would definitely buy a purse spray to carry with you to spritz when you feel this fading.

Burberry has an INTENSE Version of Burberry Body - which I will have to sample and see how this wears compared to the original.

If you think Burberry Body is just a shade too sharp, bright, fun, optimistic for you - and you prefer something a bit more toned down -- try Burberry Body Tender, which is a softer, less sharp/bright version of Burberry Body. It is as if you step in on the gorgeous dry down of Burberry Body, rather than the first blast of the bubblegum energy. Another one to try would be Jivago Rose Gold, this is fairly similar to Burberry Body - but the notes are more buffed down, classic, and more sophisticated; this shares the classic DNA of the Jivago perfume line, so it is a completely different perfume -- but this is like dialing it down a bit for a softer take on Burberry Body.

If you like rose and Burberry Body's notes - I would also try Delina De Marly (the original version) - because Burberry Body is more of the peach version (and a bit more sharp-green) than Delina De marly which is primarily a rose-y type perfume.

----------

Fragrantica.com blurb - Burberry Body
Launched in 2011. The nose behind this fragrance is Michel Almairac. Top notes are Peach, Wormwood and Freesia; middle notes are Rose, Sandalwood and iris; base notes are Musk, Cashmere Wood, Vanille and Amber.

-----------

The good news: I have found some Burberry perfumes that I really like in addition to Burberry Body --

I have just reviewed The EDT Beat by Burberry - and that is definitely one to try if you like a tea like spa cedar blend. The Beat is much better with my chemistry. I recommend sampling that.

I also had great luck with London Burberry which is a fabulous spring/summer fragrance which smells like honeysuckle. It is so beautiful for the spring!

----------------

There are several perfumes that I have recently sampled that may be taking certain notes and the general concept of Burberry Body - and re-crafting them to create a new perfume:

Valentino's Rome perfume is very similar to the notes within Burberry Body, but it is a little softer -- the bright/sharp notes within Burberry Body EDP have been buffed down for a more romantic type composition.

Dolce & Gabanna L'Imperatrice 3 is pinging in the same bright/sharp note type family of perfumes as Burberry Body EDP only it is less bubblegum - and more of a fresh fruit bowl smell. L'Imperatrice 3 is actually slightly sharper and more bright during the first stages of wear than Burberry Body.

(I love all three of these perfumes, they are all great! All three have that sweet/sharp ).

cjoudas

Got this in a designer discovery kit (you know the one), which was pretty much the death of my daily frag review streak. I keep all my samples in a box and when I feel like doing a review, I'll pull one out at random, but these bright crystals, minkoffs and my ways have really set me in the doldrums. What is there to say?
Far be it from me to boringly dredge up that old chestnut called "what is art?", and even further, to anoint myself nasally gifted enough to call certain fragrances "art," and others "definitely not art."
Don't forget that simply enjoying something can be enough of a reason to like it, and don't forget that good frags are all around us, from the designer department store counter, celebrity fragrances from Ross Dress for Less, $6.99 aerosols from Walmart (hellooo, Jovan white musk), to the bespoke, the rare, the cottage and the concept.
I needed to say that so I'd feel like less of a niche snob when I say:
Body by Burberry? Ugh. Started out aggressively boring, quickly transitioned to boringly shampooish. It's like water; when you drink it, a series of sensory cues tell you it's there, but it doesn't really have a flavor.
Don't forget, experiences vary. If you like this frag, I'm envious; I wish I could smell what you smell.

realitygreene

Burberry Body is classy and sophisticated, but not stuffy or too mature. The woman that wears this fragrance has perfected the elevated white t-shirt and jeans combo. She probably wears a Celine bag and a statement coat. I had to overspray a bit more than normal to really get this to smell interesting on my skin. Once I did the peach really came out. The mid and base notes are all pretty solid and well rounded.

This fragrance is very lovely, not super exciting or out there, but reliably good. The price for Body on discount websites is very nice. I would consider buying a bottle and adding this to my fall rotation. Burberry seems to consistently hit it out of the park for me, I can't wait to try more and more from this brand.

This perfume is very autumnal and I really enjoy it!

LadyWisteria

This has become my signature scent.
The amount of times I passed by this fragrance in Marshall's is ridiculous. Im just lucky that I decided to pick it up and give it a go before someone else did.

Im not all that great at describing fragrances but this one gives off a very clean, soft and woody vibe. If youre looking for a peach fragrance, this isnt it. But if youre looking for something that gives a "im not wearing perfume I just smell good" fragrance then this could be something youd enjoy. This is definitely an at home or at the job fragrance.

tshiamo.mthethwa

I blind purchased this fragrance a few months ago and have JUST warmed up to it. Very feminine, slightly sweet and elegant scent. While i would not rave about this since i naturally prefer gourmand scents, i find myself reaching for this scent more often than i thought i would. Its an easy everyday scent for work in the summer time for me. I enjoy it. Moderate longevity and sillage.

cucumber5012

I wanted this to be woodier, muskier, cozier; but the rose and whatever other green scents are in here bring it more to the light and clean side. just alright for me.

Ismellroyal

Powdery and unisex. There's a bit of a urine waft. Not feminine enough for a woman but good for a feminine man. Not very sensual. You're not interested in getting closer and knowing more, she told you everything and you have seen enough

Cocolush

That girl from the office who wears her long, thick ash blonde hair down each day with a perfect bouncy blow wave. She walks confidently past everyone in her white blouse with the top button undone smiling and greeting everyone she passes.

It's pleasant, confident and the tiniest bit sexy and alluring. You want it if you want to hold your head high, stay classy bit keep people guessing about you all at the same time.

Phoenixpink80

This is a new blind buy for me after seeing a review on YouTube. I'm so glad I got it because it's absolutely beautiful!
It smells soft and classy. A new favourite for me.

itscaroline

Ugh. This perfume is so interesting and GOOD, and I can't put my finger on what makes it so good. It's different than anything I've ever smelled. It's sharp, and is confident. It's the epitome of a confident, BOSS woman, because it has a big presence. It says, 'I'm here'. When you wear this you make yourself known because it leaves a trail everywhere you go. The woody note is gives a very 'solid, down to earth' impression as well as just. It's just so mysterious

diandra96

I loveee this! The name pretty much describe the smell, it smells like your skin but like a top model skin (it that make sense😂). A woman wearing this fragrance is someone with big confidence with herself, tsundere type because she doesn’t spend much time pleasing people, but people are attracted to her!

Anyway it’s also a unisex fragrance. I think it’ll also smell great on a man

twiztidladii

Tried out a sample this evening and wound up making it my bedtime fragrance tonight. The florals are so beautifully blended together. I don’t like Peach so apparently the Peach isn’t that noticeable. This is a sexy yet cozy version of a skin scent, to me. If a woman were wearing this I’d want to demand cuddle time ASAP just to be closer to her and this beautiful perfume. Is there a masculine version of this? I’d love to smell something similar on my (future) boyfriends as well.

Update 6/1/22:

I bought the large bottle of this recently going off how I felt about the sample I received. Ugh. First night I wore it, upon walking into a large open space, I was like what is that smell? Smells like someone oversprayed air freshener in here. My mom said no, it was me. So now I can’t get it out of my head that I smell like cheap air freshener when I wear it. I don’t know if I’ll ever wear it again in confidence tbh. Which is sad. Oh well.

Neckromancer

This is definitely a perfume someone around me wore, but I can't place who it was.
I smell roses, musk, peach, and very smooth, comfortable wood. It's kind of powdery and kind of classy.
90's vibe.
It makes me think of a woman in a beige suit.

xxjennieee

I absolutely love this perfume.
It had been a while since I smelled a fragrance that I fell in love with until I smelled this one.
Its giving me rose, peaches and musk. A warm clean kind of scent.
Definitely a warm and creamy scent.
It does not smell "mature" to me. But it is a fragrance for elegant and kind women.

Edit: Every time I wear this perfume my husband compliments it and he never notices scents! Also the first time I wore it to work, my patient told me I smelled like a rich woman haha. She asked me of it was Chanel because it smelled so delicious. GET THIS PERFUME

Nanalvzpink

Burberry Body EDP is baby Tresor by Lancôme.
Although it smells similar to Burberry Body EDT,
this is more powdery and EDT has a more fresh approach.

I much prefer EDT.

MrAbbas

Smells like a caring innocent lady. It is a very musky comforting scent, its like a hug from a mom or a nice wife. Warm up with your skin and leaves a nice very very soft scent bubble. Truly its like your skin but better scent, I feel it works perfectly in intimate times. I won't call it sexy but its caring, warm and comforting... and that is sexy in itself. I got 60ml for 17 euros..... A stealllllll. I recommend it for sure but wont repurchase due to the super bad performance.

stardenise16

Blind bought Body for less than $30 and I regret purchasing this. Smells cheap and smells like cleaning supplies.

Stoicchild

A scent I would happily buy again! I really miss this =(
It is such a cosy winter scent. It's not overpowering or attention seeking. It's respectful and sexy at the same time. I don't know anyone who complained about this. It's my sex scent lol

JustSimpleThings

This is like a sweeter, more approachable version of Tresor, as other reviewers have noted before me.
Definitely a nice, sort of warm and musky, powdery peach scent.

dezaval

Soft, elegant peach is the most prominent note here. It's the daughter of Tresor by Lancome with a modern twist. Very long lasting, fall and spring fragrance, great for everyday work. The silage is just OK. Lovely scent!

LemonadeBeach

This is in my top 3 favorite perfumes of all time, which is why I'm so heartbroken at how difficult it is to track down. To me, this smells mostly like freshly carved wood, with maybe some hints of powdery musk and wormwood/absinthe. I just can't pick up on the peach, rose or freesia. Coming from a 20-something-year-old, I think the powdery/musky notes do age this a bit, but it's still the most heavenly, luxurious, cozy scent I've ever tried. It must mix well with my skin since I get lots of compliments while wearing this. Nothing comes close, and I'm looking for a dupe for when it's completely discontinued.

LSAUG

I got a free sample of this today in an order I made of back up bottles of what I fear will be discontinued favorites. This is cheap freesia shower gel masquerading as a perfume. It is a disgrace what these companies put in a bottle and try to pass off as a fine fragrance. Pathetic.

Chrysi 🌸

This perfume smells very nice! Quite mature scent, for a woman 30-50. At first you smell the peach which doesn't smell sweet at all. Instead, the fragrance in general is quite sharp. In the middle there is rose (don't worry you people who don't like rose in fragrances though). Now that's on my wrist for almost an hour I can detect the cashmere wood and the musk. It's a very underrated perfume in my opinion. Better for night out on winter or autumn but it could be fine also for daytime. Sillage and longevity are great.

Edit: After 2-3 hours I also smell vanilla (it got kinda sweet).

caydesugar

Smelled this again after a decade later and I am in LOVE. All I can think of is soft cashmere and silk pillowcases. It exudes luxury to me. It's just a nice, soft, luxurious scent. It's super comforting! Very inoffensive, in my opinion. A soft skin scent for sure.

Gemsense

When i first received my fb edp and my perfume oil of Body, the wormwood was just way too sour and in your face! Now im learning that all the best fragrances take time to develop and unfold. I decided to give this one another try and just let the sour wormwood die down ( which it didnt seem to do when i first tried it).
First i noticed that heat and humidity brought out some peachy sweetness. this was early spring but then still in spring, too sour.
Fast forward to now, crisp fall, after summer heat and humidity. The weather warmed this concoction up and now the gorgeous sensual rose and sandalwood are the star notes! I cant get enough of this now! There's the peach and the rose mingling with the slightly there back up dancer absinthe upon a sandalwood stage clothed in warm vanilla and cashmere! This is a delight to my senses! This is up there with Spellbound! Which is exactly what i thought when i first caught a whiff of the body edt sample... This is everything spellbounds daughter would be! And i promptly ordered a full bottle of the edp! And now, finally, that beauty has returned! After some suffering through the seasons trying to find when this girl likes to perform i finally get the whole show and it is remarkable!

hola gigi

This bottle was so sleek & classy that I wanted to love the fragrance. Sadly, the wormwood doesn't work for me. It smells like a pile of sticks you'd find in the backyard.

FragCon

Received it as a tester and would say I quite enjoy it. Seems like a non-offensive floral scent, more youthful of an early 20s feminine woman and for warmer weather. I could see this as a lunch date scent, maybe the complimentary scent being that of Armani code black on the more masculine counterpart. I am not suggesting the code black smells like this but would be the opposing scent I could imagine your partner could wear together. It brings a feeling of it being a safe neutral scent you would wear, not a like nor dislike.

Miss_Nathalie

I love this one so much! I recieved it today and oh my 😍 the fruity rose reminds me so much of the original tresor. I loved that scent when I was a kid, using it behind my mom's back! So yes I am very pleased with this one. Yes its powdery and im truely very ok with that.

Mary_M

This one does not work with my body chemistry. Smells extremely musky heavy and unpleasant on me. Like air freshener. It's a shame.

Becky1992

This one is extremely powdery! That’s pretty much all I get. I find it good to wear after a shower in the evenings if I just want to feel clean but don’t want something too loud. I’ll happily use up the bottle I have but wouldn’t repurchase

only_ONE_sheila

This fragrance reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds and Rubies!

clairesque

Pleasantly surprised by this. Creamy, peachy vanilla rose with a light powdery accord. Not overly sweet, not overly floral. It's a bit generic, reminds me of a lot of other perfumes I've tried, mainly Gucci Flora (another creamy floral). But, I love Gucci Flora and I love this too. I'll have to wear them side by side and see which I prefer.

This also inexplicably reminded me of Chloe EDP, my favorite perfume, but they smell nothing alike. I found out from other reviews that they're made by the same perfumer which makes sense. Body has the same demure, clean femininity of Chloe EDP but it's a little warmer, sweeter, more inviting. Like Chloe is for warm weather and Body is for cool weather.

Eau de Hanneli

Got a free sample of this, sprayed it on and immediately I get shampoo and generic powdery floral sweetness overload.. When Smellz (review below mine) said it is reminiscent of the maxi-pad smell - I understood exactly what she meant. Not the kind of fragrance I like, off to the sink I go..

Smellz

The nicest thing about Body Burberry is its non-linearity: it has an evolving narrative that feels very rewarding. It starts off with a sharp, somewhat surprising blast of wormwood, which is kept from being too shrill by its juxtaposition with the floral notes. From there, the floral/fruity element emerges further, and just smells Nice. Like a conventional, pleasant floral smell; something you'd feel safe blind-buying as a present for your brother's girlfriend (substitute whoever in your life you think of when you think normal, pretty girl -- you get the idea). A couple hours later, and you're in powder heaven! (No, not Studio 54.)

This combination of complexity and gentleness makes this an ideal bedtime perfume: you're not trying to exude anything or impress anyone, you're just trying to enjoy a smell before sleep. It's also mild enough so that it won't invade your dreams (side note: does anybody else have this problem?). However, this is where things get dark and a little weird.

The final-final stage of Body Burberry smells like a maxi-pad. And I don't mean that as a catty simile for "boring cheap floral," I mean it literally and in the worst kind of way. There's an impression of powdery, clinical sweetness not quite completely covering up something distinctly... sinister. I have puzzled over the notes list multiple times and cannot for the life of me figure out wtf would smell like decay, but it is here and it is bad. The menstrual phase is a skin scent, but that somehow only makes it worse. I'm trapped in the devil's panties, and nobody knows it but me.

I love a perfume whose distinct notes emerge with time, and really enjoy Body Burberry's journey from sharp, wormwood-y initial spray to gentle floral heart notes to sleepy, powdery dry-down.The first 80% of this perfume's story develops like a fairytale. However, waking up in the morning smelling like a soiled feminine hygiene product is more like an urban legend! It's like... It's like a Lifetime movie where the penultimate scene is of the post-trauma glow-y happy family and you think that's how it ends but then we cut to the crazed antagonist rocking back and forth grinning creepily to herself in a mental institution.

I have enjoyed my tester but I don't think I'll re-buy.

Gemsense

If you find this is too sour, try it in hot humid weather and you'll get some sweetness with it and smell juicy peach but once back in the a.c it goes back to sour musty.

SweetieZ

It’s definitely a mildly sweet floral. Very “meh” to me. I’ve had this for over 3 months and worn is maaayyybe 3 times. It’s average and delicate.

melxx2133

It baffles me that so many fragrances that honestly don't smell good have raving reviews and this one doesn’t . This is a beautiful floral musk perfume. Is not the most complex in the world but it smells freaking good! I know scent is subjective but hopefully we can all agree that some notes are more challenging than others. In this perfume the most prominent notes are all very likable and easy going . The rose, iris, vanilla and the musk. To me this is a fragrance that smells good, sexy, slightly powdery and clean . What more can you ask for ?

ella_bm

Smells like a grandma. A nice grandma smell, but grandma nonetheless.

meliecat

I just swapped this and was hoping for something really good - I heard and read people raving about it - but it is not quite what I expected.

I love the opening, strong burst of flowers and musk. Then as it starts to fade I get something kinda bitter.. It must be the wormwood..Then it becomes some nondescript synthetic sweetness (that's when I don't like it) and I think to myself 'oh dear, I could have just bought something from the poundshop for a few bucks instead of bothering with this'.. Then as this phase passes I'm left with amber and musk..this is kinda sexy and spicy but if I wanted sexy I had other scents to go with.. All this within 5 hours. Longevity therefore is okay.

For now I must say it's okay. Just okay. I would never pay money to have it. It's definitely not something worth raving about. It's not entirely my cup of tea. To me it's on the same page as Serpentine by Cavalli.. Not sure if I like it enough to keep it just to have something like this to reach for or give it away. It's generic, but not the worst one can have on. We'll see about compliments..

This is a back to basics type of fragrance for me. It's woody and musky with just some floral but as it dries down I get more of the rose and peach. It won't appeal to everyone and even for myself, I have to be in the mood for it. When I am, it's wonderful. Longevity is quite good and I catch the scent throughout the day. I like it as a daytime fragrance and warmer weather seems to bring it out much better. It's got a bit of a clean, soapy vibe.

RachelSeun

The opening is very strong and bitter, almost a little off putting as it comes across a little too mature for my taste. The beauty in my opinion is in the dry down. It lingers on clothes for days and you get that soft clean laundry, tumble dryer sheets scent that is so comforting and lovely to smell. The dry down has a lovely sense of familiarity to it that I can never quite put my finger on what it reminds me of, I just know I always want to go back to it. The bottle is absolutely one of my faves, so elegant and so well designed!

Juttajii

My first thoughts on this were disgustingly powdery and hell no (I'm still having nightmares of some Chloe powdery water that I purchased during a pregnancy-related hormone burst).
Of course, my mind was changed after a few hours, when the musky cashmeran rose came through.
I still get lots of powder, but the sweetness of the peach and freshness of the rose make it somehow lovable even for those of us, who normally abhor powdery fragrances!
This is nothing like Brit Rhythm, but both of them do powdery in a way that's soft, not headache-inducing.
Bravo, Burberry, again! And Body's fast becoming my go-to perfume when I need a clean, feminine skin scent.

bleuciel

I had Burberry Body Intense many years ago and really liked it. This one is just OK. The Intense version (which I cannot find anywhere, so I had to settle for the original) was sweeter and more powdery. This one is more floral, muskier and less powdery. It's still very clean, I got it for the upcoming summer months, but I can see some headache-inducing potential here because of the flowers. Would definitely not repurchase.

rae09cg

My signature scent is Burberry Her so I've been exploring the house. Burberry Body smells familiar, like nothing you can put your finger on though, until you realize it smells like skin! The opening for me was powdery and at first sniff I was not interested until I let it dry down and I started getting that musky and rose scent pushing through. It dries down into a natural feminine scent that melds with the skin.

Gemsense

This is not floral or sweet at all! All i smell I smell is the wormwood very strongly and its sour so very very sour! I wish i could get the peach and florals and sweetness but on me, right now in this weather, its just sour body odor and its so strong its headache inducing! Its not nice or feminine its gross! There's no way that this is supposed to smell like this so ill try this again when its warmer and hopefully the wormwood will fade to the background and the florals will come out and sing their song.. Im in minnesota so its still very cold out. At least i may have a summer fragrance on my hands! Humidity resistant fragrances are just so hard to come by. I hope this one is made for heat cuz its definitely no good in the winter weather in minnesota.

zuzanafertalova

I hate this fragrance! At first, it smelled nice, soft and skinlike. After few hours I got headache from this smell, it's over powdery and over flowery, hitting my nose whole day, it was annoying and I got sick from it. It reminds me of old flowery soap from grandma's bathroom mixed with baby wipes. Never wearing it again!

annasarahr121

Burberry Body is a beautiful, cool, powdery, peach-wormwood-musk fragrance. To me, fragrances are warm or cool/cold- smelling (which has nothing to do with what weather you should wear them in). Burberry Body is cool/cold, as is Guerlain's Mitsouko and L'Heure Bleue, Oscar De La Renta's Oscar and Esprit d'Oscar, and Bvlgari's Pour Femme -- which is not to say they really remind me of Burberry Body particularly, however; but they all share a cool, powdery, iris note. Burberry Body also has an intriguing bitter note (the wormwood, I'm guessing) that plays in concert with a dry peach, over top of very low-key roses and musk (or is that cashmere woods I'm smelling...?). It's pretty linear, as well, not changing much from first spray to drydown. I do not smell any vanilla here -- vanilla, to me, warms up a scent mightily -- and I detect only a little sandalwood (also warming). I love this cool, low-key, fragrance. To me, it's very restrained, cool, and elegant, with a decent but not gigantic sillage. It performs pretty well, lasting about 6-8 hours, just sort of radiating toward the end as more of a skin scent. Quietly gorgeous...

sofi_parfum

I am a fan of Burberry Weekend and was told that Body was somewhat similar. It is not even close.

Straight from the bottle I made me cringe, and it smells like cheap fabric softener on my skin. My mother hates the sent even more than I do. It's a shame as I typically love woody and musky fragrances, but Body is overwhelmingly powdery and I struggle to smell any of the softer, peachy notes.

On the positive, if you do happen to like the smell, it does last long.

RRHouse

The opening is peachy and interesting with the wormwood, and its really lovely with the freesia and rose. It is pleasant, not offensive. It is a little powdery with the iris, and the musk makes it appearance almost immediately. After dry down, the musk and rose combo really dominate for the rest of the day. Its nice, but I’ve smelled this many times before, its likable and pretty common. I think this is safe musk fragrance for a more mature woman. This can get a bit overwhelming if heavily sprayed. This scent really blooms more in the heat so be aware of that.
Performance was good, I did not feel like I needed to reapply.
Rating: 6/10.
Projection: 5/10; Silage: 4/10; Application: 3 atomizations; Performance: 6/10.
Gender: Female; Ages: 40+; It’s a safe daytime summer/spring fragrance.
Blind-Buy: No, test first.

The universe placed Body in my life when I was at my lowest point with Burberry, and scents like Touch and Brit Rhythm, plus a myriad of duplicate flankers left me sullen and dismayed. If you don't believe me, just take a gander at the "Reminds Me of" section above. Without getting on my soap box again, that is just ridiculous! I try to write better than using Caps Lock for emphasis, but with this point, I hope you read them in your mind! I will shift now, to topic, lest this review become permanently derailed. I'm laughing a little, because I hadn't read till just now that Burberry describes this as a chypre. Well there you go! Chyprephile as I am, no wonder I really enjoy this potion, however, I would not associate this perfume with that notation. Perhaps I should look at the possibility it could for just a moment, before utterly dismissing. Chypres, and fougeres for that matter, have a top acidity. But there is no acidity noted. The closest in comparison is woodworm, but that bitter herb, really is an aromatic, as gin drinkers would surely corroborate. There is also a lack of oak moss, patchouli or lichen in the base structure. This barely whispers musk in the dry down. I could go on, but I'll just say that I'm still inconvenienced of that claim. I will give points for the complexity of luscious peach juxtaposed with wormwood, and counterbalanced with silky woods and feisty florals. Freesia and rose create a triad of interest, so I suppose it's not terribly far fetched that this perfume imitates a chypre, or more broadly a fougere. It is absolutely lovely, and the more heat, the merrier for this doll. Summer time stickiness, only let's her sing brighter. Still, I enjoy this invigoration in the cooler months as well. Body is sturdy with cashmere and sandalwood, and warming - in and of itself, with delicate use of amber and vanilla. If I had one minor gripe, it would be the bottle. Visually, this appears stunning as a long crystal shard, held embolden in hand, mystic powers found within. Logistically, this is a nightmare 'domino' for any perfume collector. Any vibration can cause it to tip, and crash into other precious pieces. Then it is just Russian Roulette as to who or what will survive the collision. Again, just a trifle in an otherwise lovely and surprising number from Burberry. And if they are indeed listening - please slow your flanker roll, and give us more releases of this quality. Burberry Body is phenomenal, and easily stands along side perfumes as grand as Chloe Nomade....which is definitely a fruity chypre, so who knows anymore anyway.

StinkyTinky

I’m a fan:) Musky, sweet cashmere lotiony smell. Something in here is making it smell more transparent and not heavy weight on the skin. And I’ve gotta say, for this scent profile, very long lasting. Almost borderline obnoxious if you over do it.
I’m pleased with this one. I get a little bit of kenzo amour but that one smells like thick creamy lotion to me- this has more of a woody element.
The first time I smelled this I passed. But my collection and taste have evolved. I can appreciate this now...

kuri_chi

This was a blind buy for me, I enjoyed Burberry Her and decided to give this a shot. Bad choice. Smells of the razac hand and body lotion my grand aunt and elder relatives wore. Ended up giving it to my mother for her birthday, she enjoyed it very much.

ladolcemae

smells like fresh fish on my skin, crazy how peerfumes work huh

Atomikbomb_

Ahhh, yeah, this. Ok.

I've smelled this outside on people, somewhere or somehow. This is extremely familiar and I'm sorry I took so long to try it for myself, I got a smokin' deal on a whole sleeve of testers (which will last me ages) I can't place where I know this from, but it must be somewhat common if even I've smelled it up where only the rare wear perfume.

It's a nice, delicate musk with a very soapy, laundry-ish undertone that permeates the entire experience; opening through drydown. I honestly had no expectation of this being as profoundly clean smelling as it is. I think clean skin fragrances actually can garner a lot of compliments, and I'm not surprised that many have reported on this being popular with others in the vicinity. People who dislike heavy fragrances (or fragrance at all) might still be ok with this. It gives the feeling that the wearer might be conscientious and reserved, but warm underneath.

The peach isn't juicy or jammy at all, it's soft and dry - like peach dryer sheets. It's musky, but cleanly so, and not actually as suggestive as I would've liked, and how others have proclaimed it to be. I find this to be quite safe, and oddly office-appropriate.

Whatever rose is in here is subtle, and fresh. A clean, slightly powdered rose.

Have I mentioned this fragrance smells clean? 😆

Veronika95

This is much stronger than I expected, which is always a good thing, it just surprised me. It’s overall very very nice scent, it’s just not for me. I thought I could handle the musk with leather here, even though I don’t usually like it much, but it was my mistake I really don’t enjoy the strong musk leathery scent. But I would totally appreciate it on someone else, and the rose here is magnificent. Just for comparison I also bought Alien Musc Mysterieux and I love it very much, I don’t mind the musc in that, so it varies fragrance from fragrance. I’m not sure it’s a safe blind buy, but I’m sure it’s a great likeable perfume suitable for any occasion. Definitely could be a signature scent. And the price is great for everyday use.

moccacino

This is my first perfume from Burberry brand and I am so impresed of it. It's so soft, warm, elegant and but not very long lasting. Rose scent is what I get the most and a very powdery, musky scent. A perfect day-time/ work fragrance, and smell expensive.

alioni4ka

I smelled this one on a friend and i really loved it then wanted to test on myself and asked her if it s possible;personally I do not like peachy smells so much; so in the openning i hated it because peach was so noticable and overwhelming and kinda artificial smelling to my taste; but oh gosh, dry down is amazing! I just bought one for myself immediatly, i prefer spraying it just 30-40 mins before leaving the home to get rid of heavy-peachy smell and then when i go out all i get is just compliments from around. Its dry-down is really sexy and as its name very bodily, warm smell to me. To my nose cashmere and muskiness is really dominant and i literally feel like i am surrounded by clean, high quality and warm fabrics when i wear it. I would say this is not something super unique, but definetly feels high quality and would be easily likable for anyone.

Michelle12345678

The peach and rose combination is lovely. A good everyday driver. Works in all seasons. Feminine.

cocogirl96

Even though I felt like the note combination were...eh, I still got the fragrance because of the raving reviews. Funny how that's my real-life experience. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it, but it smells okay to me. (p.s right when I typed this, my co-worker texted me asking me the fragrance I was wearing yesterday. She told me she couldn't stop thinking about how nice I smelled. LOL). The opening is extremely musky with some peach undertones. There's nothing floral about the opening, but after it settles into my skin, you get this really jammy rose scent mixed with the peace and musk. After a while, the vanilla sweetness comes and it turns to a musky/sweet skin scent that still had a lot of silliage. I can understand why some people absolutely love it, but it's okay to me. I think the muskiness is a bit too strong and cloying to me. If I smell it too closely, it kinda stings my nose like when you smell ammonia or bleach. It doesn't smell like ammonia or bleach, but it just hurts my nose in the same way they do.

One thing I really love about this scent is the champaign essence to it. It's kind of fizzy so it makes you feel a bit drunk but in a good way. It's very temporary, but I like that about it.

Silage is strong and it'll easily last over 8 hours.

Overall, I'd give this a 7/10 based on the quality, the scent and the good reactions I get from it. Me personally, I don't care for the smell that much so it's a 5/10.

I think this is a pretty safe scent. My advice is to only blind buy if you love musky, floral scents. If that's not your cup of tea, then get a sample, or skip altogether.

Question for experts only:
subject fragrance batch 9190 in checkfresh is 2009 while it was first launched in 2011
any explanations?

Schnupperl

Burberry conjured up a wonderful fragrance. For me, body radiates femininity, passion and (sorry for the expression) pure sex. Body literally merges with the skin. For me this fragrance is one of the most beautiful fragrances for women.

Kswhittaker

Just bought this today on sale! Very musky smel, very powdery! Like second skin! Smells a bit like a luxurious face blusher! I’ve sprayed it 4 hours ago and still can smell it well on my skin x

peanutbuttercups

I was utterly obsessed with this fragrance for about six months, during a time when I was living in Hong Kong (which is why I associated it with hot weather, perhaps, when most others seem to think it's more suitable for fall) and have the best scent memories associated with it.

Whether I'm remembering it through rose tinted glasses or not, though, it is entirely accurate to state that I have NEVER received so many compliments on a fragrance - before or since. Almost every time I wore this scent, someone commented on it favorably, and quite a few of my friend group purchased it, too.

Reading through the comments a lot of people describe this to be a cloyingly sweet perfume- personally, I don't find it terribly sweet, instead the musk and rose notes stand out to me. The peach top note and vanilla base notes are a mystery to me as I don't recall them at all, and usually I'm very sensitive to vanilla.

JD.Berg

Managed to get myself a few 2ml samples of this one. First day I sprayed it it was mesmerizing that I kept closing my eyes to indulge and savor the very pleasant smell. It was magical —for a day! The second day I sprayed it, I got a very heady musk that sort of smothered me!!! Bizarre! Now I’m not quite sure how to feel! 🌝 I guess I must not give up and try giving it another chance, hoping to find this magical feeling again.

pamplemousse2

Upon immediate application, this smells powdery and a bit floral. A musky peach definitely comes through after a couple minutes as well. It becomes more rosy after that and that's what I smell most for a while. It sits close to the skin, but is strong there. This smells a bit older, a more 'mature' ladies office spray, in perhaps mid 30s and up. Classy without many frills. After about 5 minutes, it starts to smell more fresh and shampoo-y . I get that hairspray smell people are talking about too, but it's less harsh than actual hairspray, but still a peachy fruity musky freshness. It feels a bit dated and generic, but nothing 'bad' about it. The color of the juice/clearish light beige I think is pretty accurate to what I feel about this. It's kinda neutral, in the background, a bit bland, but still decent and pretty, It's not exactly 'boring.' I did find myself sniffing my arm a lot, but it's modest and appropriate for professional and day occasions and not evoking too much of any strong emotion. Just pleasant.

30 minutes after applying, it becomes a lot less strong, but still there on the skin, just more subtle. It's a bit more peachy and less rosy now. But honestly I don't have too much more to say about it.

2 hours later and I can hardly smell it on me. It's still there, but only when I put my nose to my skin. It's a bit more musky and woodsy now, but still fresh and peach. It's been a while and I have yet to really smell any vanilla or amber in this. There may be the slightest hint of vanilla and rose left, but it's very faint.

6 hours later and it's gone back and forth between basically gone and the slightest whiff left on the skin and pretty much musk and some woods left.

It was faint, but I would say that after 8 hours, you could still get a hint of it on my skin, but it's basically gone unless you tried to smell for it.

AnotherDabbler

Ugh... once I've tested this, it immediately struck me as familiar. This smells like my old workplace!
And seconds later I realized I had always assumed it was some coworkers cheap hairspray that caused this cloying, stale musky smell that didn't quite fill or linger in a room, but came and went in faint waves that were hard to localise or pinpoint.

I'm not exaggerating, all I can smell here is a hairspray type of heavy musk (galaxolide or exaltolide or helvetolide or whatever that's called) that feels like it sticks to the inside of my nose for a while, as if it follows my face around even when I turn away from it.
That's it.
At least I've solved the mystery of why the culprit was so difficult to localise.
Now I'm obviously not a trained fragrance expert or something but if you have to be one to find the flower or chypre notes buried in all this musk... well, maybe other 'normies' might just assume it's hairspray too.

To be fair I won't rate this, I only rate perfume here lol ^^

orientalvanilla

a mix of Nivea creme and decorative rose soap is what I get. screechy opening on me that setteles into the lotiony type of powdery, very clean and modest. the contradiction to the oversexualized ad trying to sell this as sensual couldnt be more crass. Im a lover of musk (I adore the whole NR line) but this is just a big, big pass. I can defintely see it worn in an enviornment that doesnt necessarily allow actual fragrance though, so if thats your vibe, you might like this. for me this was a huge disappointment, should have checked more reviews before blind buying.

Phantomias

This one's heavy on musk. In fact I smell little else but musk, just a bit of woody/powdery notes and that's it. While that's not a bad thing, musk isn't a personal favorite. It does give the perfume good longevity. Sillage is modest, which makes BB work safe. Very unisex. Not a bad scent by any means but nothing special either.

Openseason

It smells of straight up sugar, roses, and baby powder. I hate scents heavy on the rose and powder because they usually give me old lady vibes, but this fragrance just works with the musk/skin note I get.. i guess that is why there is no better name than Body for it? Wearing this scent gives me the same sensation as taking the revitalizing-Saturday-morning-shower-after-a-long-week-of-nonsense; WOO! HOO! Although there is not a trace of this when I wake up, I cannot stop wearing this scent to bed! So comforting.

n_bogi

This is a very powdery scent - however one of the few that people noticed on me. I would not repurchase it, but if someone is into powdery, cotton, rose scents it can be a great choice.

Rafaela777

Let me start with saying that I LOVED the smell from the nozzle. But after I sprayed it on myself I found that it was very sharp and cloying. Didn't like it. It took me months before I began to understand this scent.
It's not a perfume to impress it's soft, warm, elegant and very long lasting. Beast mode, 2/3 sprays max. Burberry body is extremely versatile. I reach for it often in fall and winter for every occasion. There are a lot of days that I don't want anything too floral, fruity or gourmand, and then I pick this one up. The only perfume in my collection that can do that, so strange. It's nice and sophisticated and in my opinion....unique

Erica.Cass

It's pretty nice. Rose scent is what I get the most. I prefer to layer this with LaVanilla Pure Vanilla, then it becomes a rose Vanilla that i love!

Vanillastorm40

Received this as a sample with another purchase and "chypre fruity" is nowhere near the category I'd stick this one in. I don't like at all. VERY GENERIC (RL Romance type of generic). Truly, it smells like hairspray n that would be a compliment. The notes sound SO GOOD, what happened?? I love Chypre Fruity frags like Gucci Rush, Badgley Mischka Badgley Mischka-this is I don't really even know what it is. Meh. Goes to show that I shouldn't blind buy based on the notes listed bc this is way far off from the interesting notes that are listed. Where are the damn peaches lol? One of my favorite notes n I don't smell it here at all. Always grateful for a sample that I didn't ask for though so that lil extra gesture from the seller was nice.

poohbearwinnie

The initial blast was just straight up alcohol, like hand sanitizer alcohol smell. Too musky and the dry down just reminds me of body odor in the heat. This is too much and just terrible. Maybe it's great for someone more mature, but for me, this is a no!

edit: I sprayed it again in February in NY and I love it! Crazy how your nose can change over time and love it. This smells like luxurious satin sheets and cashmere. This smells rich, I know someone described this like your skin but better. I agree, it smells like intimate cuddling in a log cabin.

fabeca1080

A very special fragrance, a delicate but intense skinscent, its like cotton rosy scent.

AgnesK

It's all about rose..i love to wear this scent to the office especially for meeting with client. Burberry body perfume have long lasting longevity with simple elegant bottle.

Rozalina

Burberry Body is a pale imitation of Tresor by Lancome, except it lacks the decadence and grandeur of that iconic peach powerhouse. Tresor is gold and syrupy while Body is beige and musky. Just go for the original.

hfigures

In the coolness of the office this is light, fresh and clean very much the chypre floral with very little fruitiness. Summer heat really turned the musk, florals and fruit up a couple of notches. At home it's sweet, warm and comforting. It's a chameleon.

Snowflake_007

My fiance' says he has yet to meet a Burberry fragrance that doesn't work well on my skin. Judging by the other reviewers comments, the house has done incredibly well in creating fragrances that create a seamless chemistry with most people - something to be applauded, because this is no easy feat.

On to Burberry Body.. I'm driven by scent memories, and can pretty much pinpoint the first memory associated with each fragrance I own. Body was presented to me as a gift from a colleague who had at the time just returned from Dubai, so I see her face whenever I smell it. I'm a HUGE fan of iris combined with woods, so needless to say - my first bottle didn't last all that long. I battled to find another bottle for a while, so yes, I admit it... I have several bottles stashed away, and may be in dire need of a guest spot on Hoarders. Can you even consider yourself a Perfumista if you don't hoard bottles?

Currently, I'm treated to soft wisps of Iris, Musk, Cashmere Wood and Wormwood every time the breeze comes along. This is accompanied by the image of my friend, throwing an amusing tantrum about our boss to the tune of "Can you believe what that jackass said??"

pleasuretoburn

I like this a lot, but Burberry fragrances are usually pretty good on me. Body is similarly warm and luscious in comparison with Brit, and Body could be Brit's flirty younger sister in many ways. They don't smell alike, but the vibes are very similar. There's a creaminess, probably from the cashmere woods/musk combo, and a little bit of fuzzy sweetness from the peach and freesia. The rose is barely there, as is the vanilla--they're just hanging out in the background. I don't think the amber is very prominent, but it could just be blending with the other basenotes since they all share characteristics. Overall, this is an absolute winner in my book, and something that I will keep on-hand for warm days when I still want to feel snuggled up. The bottle is lovely, and it is super-affordable at the moment. The longevity is nothing great but it also isn't abominable, and the sillage is better than what I expected for a scent called "Body." She's a winner, and I am keeping her!

Seaworthy

I do love Burberry fragrances! They have a wonderful, warm, sweet musky woodsy quality that I find extremely appealing. I was excited to receive a sample of Burberry Body and this morning I sprayed myself liberally with it. At first I did smell the Burberry sweet musky DNA that I love, but as it has dried down it is sitting very close to my skin which is not the typical performance that I would expect from Burberry fragrances usually they last at least 5-6 hours with soft sillage. At any rate, Body has dried down to this almost bitter wood fragrance, it has lost all sweetness. Just awkwardly clinging for life on my skin. I won't be buying a bottle of this fragrance unfortunately.

devladelices

Am I crazy - wait don't answer that - to think this smells like an elevated Coty Exclamation??
I'd like to revisit it in colder months, as I certainly appreciate a "soft" perfume with actual longevity.

tanyaling

The bottle is amazing! But..... this is a classic example to me of a designer house fragrance.

Peaches, woods, musky. Pleasant but generic, not cheap smelling but a paler shade of floral like Chloe's perfume. Definitely better than Body Shop stuff of course.

I am not looking down on designer houses by the way. Own so many of them like by Hermes, Chloe, Kenzo.

But I think I'm more a fan of fragrances with leaves or floral notes. An example is Flower by Kenzo or florals by Paul Smith. So maybe I'm not a fruity fragrance kind of person.

Disclaimer: I am not a fan of Burberry fragrances and have yet to find any I like at all, so if you are please ignore me cause you might like it! I knew a colleague who buys BOTTLES of it as her signature scent so please do give it a chance.

Oohsmellthisone

I’ve been wearing this after I shower and get ready for bed. It’s so calming, comforting to me. Smells clean, but like I used an expensive fancy rose/peach soap. I also think this would be perfect for a flight attendant to wear or someone in the medical field because it is a nice gentle scent that whispers.

Winterspring123

Musky, rosy, sexy, confident bada** perfume.

KittyDeBeauvoir

Hot damn.
Sometimes I'm wrong.

I *hated* this fragrance when I first smelled it.
I found it to be a bizarre combination of nail vanish and plastic rose that settled into an unappealing Mumsy scent.

This perfume then went on sale, and I - because I'm a trash person - went out and bought a bottle.
I started wearing it that day.
Then again on the next day.
Then again on the following day.
Then a full week went by, and I realised:

Sometimes I'm wrong.

It has this gentle, yet low-key glamourous vibe to it. It's elegant rose with cold peach, and a easy woody-musky base.

Actually - a PERFECT day-time / work fragrance. This does not mean it's boring. It means it's classic, pleasing, delicate, well-blended, and clean.
OH! The LONGEVITY, people. Only since "Eternity" by Calvin Klein has a day-time fragrance impressed me with its longevity. It's crazy awesome.

I still have to disagree with all those that say this is a scent perfect for winter. I feel it's still a scent you wear to cool you down in the blistering heat! When summer comes, and I'm foolishly working like a chump - I'll be wearing this.

This packaging, though, is something else. Initially, I thought it was boring. So...colourless. Again, I'm just wrong on this. I feel it's more elegant now, and - oh, the variety - that it can stand up or lie down on your dresser / vanity.
This bottle is both a jewel and a weapon. Seriously, try wielding this thing against your mortal enemies. :P

Kitty rating: 8.5/10.

stripez56

Fresh peach and flowers.
Nice versatile summer scent.
But it’s a little basic so there’s probably better options for u ladies.
But if u have this it’s definitely better than nothing , i think it’s pretty nice and it’s pretty refreshing.

DarlingNikki

I can't recall if I reviewed this fragrance and I don't want to scroll to find out right now, but I will say that I have revisited this scent a few times and I finally sorted out the issue I have with it. The musk and cashmeran are absolutely out of control on my skin. I get a beautiful, classic smelling peachy/rose scent on the initial spray, and then suddenly, I am attacked by a stranger wearing strong laundry detergent musk who throws a suffocating cashmere wrap over my head and I can't breathe. If Body did not have the musk and cashmeran or dialed them way back, I would have tons of this stuff right now. I guess the bright side is that my bank account is safe from me stocking up on this lol. Lovely overall scent, but the musk and cashmeran notes are hideously strong (at least on me).

ViouAmara

It’s strange, I thought I didn’t like it. Found it first faint, chemical, I clearly oversprayed to understand the edgy rose, got the mineral woody part and received a negative comment about the harshness of the smell. But I went on using it. The beautiful handsome bottle was mocking me. Or teaching me something, but what ? How could this be all together agressive and delicate, discreet and scratching, floral and dark, her and him, young and wise, here and absent ?
It took me the full bottle to understand I was learning about musks, nose, skin, and less is more. Believe me, one or two sprays make a shimmering aura all around, emphasize the skin warmth, creating a free floral hollow that I can feel without catching it. More makes my nose blind and irritated, struggling with a sharp piece of cristal ghost.
The bottle is nearly empty and I appreciate now every single drop of the juice.

Yourmomgoestocollege

I smell pears. It's not a listed note, but it smells like candied pears to me. I also detect the rose note- it's a real rose- not a "rose scent" this is like sticking your nose into the sweet soft petals of a rose still on the rosebush.

In a good way. This is one of my favorite scents to wear to bed- it's light enough but also present. It's pretty, clean, pleasant.

I feel like when I wear it to bed, I really enjoy it- but if I wear it in the daytime, I rarely get to catch a whiff of it, because it sort of disappears, which is a shame because it's so nice.

Yourmomgoestocollege

I smell pears. It's not a listed note, but it smells like candied pears to me. I also detect the rose note- it's a real rose- not a "rose scent" like sticking your nose into the sweet soft petals of a rose still on the rosebush.

In a good way. This is one of my favorite scents to wear to bed- it's light enough but also present. It's pretty, clean, pleasant.

This was my signature fragrance for YEARS. I don't have a bottle currently but this will always hold a place in my heart. I find this offering and Dolce&Gabbana 'The One' to be very similar. The D&G is brighter, sweeter and now more my preference but Burberry Body is soft, powdery, sweet and warm.

I would say that D&G The One is the summer/spring version and Burberry Body is the fall/winter version of a similar scent. Both are elegant, powdery, slight peach and smell expensive.

Longevity is 6-8 hours, and silage is soft. This is gorgeous for all occasions and can be dressed up, dressed down and is always appropriate.

Overall 8/10 - a close second to D&G The One and signature scent worthy for sure. If you can get this for a good price (I see it for under 40 lots of places) pick it up! Gorgeous bottle, too!

This one confuses me. When I first sprayed it, it smelled like the word pretty. Like delicate, slightly sweet flowers. But as soon as it dried it smelled like cloth. It smelled like when you washed your sheets but then leave them in the dryer for a week but you keep restarting the dryer because you want to "knock the wrinkles out" but never take them out. But then when you do take them out then they sit in a basket for a week and you finally go back to them and they lost all scent of being washed and just smell like cloth? That's what it is. Not bad per say but why do I want to smell like that ya know?

bintTapputi

For me, it's even less interesting than 'Tender'. Very powdery, clean smelling. Sits very close to the skin (I guess that may be why they call it 'Body'). Kind of has a nice baby like quality to it, the way a baby's head smells like. Which is kind of nice but also not really my kind of thing. 5/10

I love a Burberry scent and this is my favorite from this house. I wear this mostly in the fall but also in colder spring days like today. Burberry Body is a beautiful rose that I will always have on hand. I have 3 backups just as I have of my favorite scent (Angel). Just in case they decide to discontinue it...

Brighter44

I love this smell but guess what! This is nothing creative or new. This is identical to1992 Chloe Narcisse. Burberry calls it a modern chypre. I think not. CN used to be expensive. It is now $27. Body, however, is $110. Save your money buy the real inspiration. Don’t be fooled again. But honestly I could understand why. Everyone voted Body to smell like previous years body so there shows no other comparisons.

Drnonododo

Surprisingly, I finished my first bottle of Burberry body!
It is absolutely different from what I love about women perfumes but I like it very much.
For me it is an all-year long work fragrance, which is powdery, elegant and not overwhelming.
The silage is weak to moderate but when people sit beside me they can notice it and enjoy it.. I don't need more than that for my day fragrance.
Maybe I will get another bottle soon ;)

This is one of the first Burberry scents I've tried, and it's pretty good. This is a very versatile musk fragrance, that can be worn in any season. The wormwood/absinthe note creates a very herbaceous opening, which many may not be a fan of. I don't really see that note used in mainstream fragrance right now- so in that regard, it's rather unique. The dry down on my skin is a pleasant musky, rose, vanilla. Actually, the dry down of Burberry Body reminds me quite a bit of the dry down of Armani Si, but slightly less sweet. This is a pleasant fragrance, and I would not mind having this in my collection, however it's one that I would either get on discount or just purchase a decant of.

Burberry Body is one of the most elegant & sensual fragrances I've owned.
I love everything about it.
The notes are beautifully balanced & nothing is sharp or over powering.
The longevity is very impressive!
Great value fragrance.
I'm on my 3rd bottle!

misssarah

Sour rose nail polish remover. A bit shrill.

maci2222

This is a beautiful light fruity floral. I get peaches rose and iris, my triple threat combo. It settles into this fantastic lull that reminds me of a light Montale rose perfume. Just wonderfully elegant.

So, it's not conventional... it's actually rather odd on me. I'm not sure why it took me this long to use a sample of it. I guess I always avoided Burberry til I tried My Burberry Black. It's nice? I'm hesitant, though, because it does feel like it's wearing me. I'd not buy it but it is a very interesting scent for a mainstream company, I'll give them that. Really don't know what to think. A 'like' at least, surely.

Edit: Surely? Surely not. Wasn't a fan. Started out weird and beautiful became boring. Oh well

bel.gravia

Soft whispering rose wrapped in musk... and did anyone mention peach?
Body is a luxurious fruity chypre composition. It knows what it is, and has no intention of hiding. From the first spray Body is fruity, delicate, elegant. It has that scent of a ripe juicy peach, of a fresh red morning rose and of powdery blue iris. Body smells like a sunset - gold and yellow, red and orange. It is a warm and comforting scent. Freshness lingers through to the dry down and even after that, so Body never becomes too close, too intimate, too skin like. It is a 'perfumy' perfume. Sweet like peaches, floral like roses, soft like cashmere, fresh like wormwood. I do not smell much vanilla nor amber, but that's okay, that leaves the composition irresistibly elegant and womanly.

Oh wow, I did not expect this to be as beautiful as it is! I kind of expected something more like Reveal by CK, maybe because of the color scheme and commercial vibe.

This is much sweeter than I had anticipated. I can almost feel a pear note going on, even though there is no pear in the notes. It's juicy and fruity, but not in a summery-flirty way, but rather in a seductive and dark way, if that makes sense. Light and juicy that's more autumn feeling.
It definitely has a Burberry feel to it.

I don't know if I'll purchase a full size of this (I currently have a sample), as juicy-fruity is not really my vibe, but this is much more interesting than I had expected. Almost what I expect Delina to smell like from the reviews (which I haven't yet tried).

I am now curious to smell the flankers, I'm sure I can find something that's more for me, because right now it's really almost gorgeous.

Oh and I don't think that "body" is the right name for it. It's not sensual or salty enough to be called that, in my opinion. It would be more befitting that Reveal perfume I talked about.

yana_mar26

I love it ! Beautiful and long lasting ! :)

Burberry Body, reminds me so much of my beloved, 2008 Chloe EDP in the way it just lasts and lasts on you, with a gentle aura. As the rose is exactly the same in both compositions and so I love them both equally.

Now, I don't typically reach for BB that often, as I prefer heavier scents but whenever I need a break. It's this I reach for as it's so clean and comforting. Pretty even!

If pink was a smell, this would be what it smelt like with a crystal edge. Sparkling like a diamond and I guess that's why the packaging looks like a crystal shard.

Other than that its distinctly feminine, effervescent, slightly fruity without being sickly sweet and well blended.

Thankyou Burberry!

SailorV

Body opens up with an intense peach note that reminds me a lot of fragrances from the 90s. I'm not 100% sure how wormwood is supposed to smell, but there is something green, slightly herbal and earthy blended in with the peach. All the sweetness in this comes from the ripe peach. The drydown becomes warmer and more powdery. Musk and rose are noticeable from the beginning, but they only become the most dominant notes when the peach and green earthiness fade to the background. But they stay over night as a soft skinscent and even a hint of vanilla shows up in the late stages.

This is a good fragrance that fits well into the Burberry line - I always find their fragrances to be very wearable, day time appropriate, but with their own little twist, in this case apparently the wormwood.

Roses and Thyme

This is probably my favorite “modern chypre,” aka post-1970s.

The rose is perfectly executed for my taste, red and dry. A review below mentioned dried rose potpourri and that’s almost it — think crisp dried rose petals. I don’t really pick up the peach. I wore Mitsouko last night, and compared to that, Body has little to no peach. I do pick up the wormwood, which is the entire reason I blind bought this. I grow wormwood (mugwort, to specify the variety) in my back garden, the Witch’s Garden, if you will, and it’s not exactly a scent you’d think of for perfume. It is a little bitter and astringent, which shines through splendidly here. It’s used in a wonderfully creative way in the composition.

I feel like musky is used to round everything out as it feels a little musky and that might add to the overall “dusky” scent.

This is a rose/herbal delight for me but I can understand that it is not for everyone. It is not strong but it lasts a very long time on my skin.

Luckyrose

This fragrance gives me a headache I don’t know why. IM UP FOR SWAPS so do private message me :)

It has taken me so long to write this review. I find this fragrance is interesting, oddly complicated, yet somehow a throw back.

People on here keep referring to a “sour” or “sharp” note - I know what they mean, but I wouldn’t describe it as either. It is the peach - it is a hard, ripe peach smell, not a juicy fruity peach. Upon first spray, I get the peach and wormwood. They smell light and soapy, almost like a shampoo smell. It becomes a Rose sandalwood in the heart with distant whiffs of the opening. In the dry down it turns into a super musky, woody, vanilla scent. Again, the vanilla is not super sweet but more creamy. It blends well with the cashmere wood smell. Some on here have said it smells super powdery but I don’t find it does - more dry. This almost feels like a modern version of white diamonds with less florals and more clean musk/wood. One complaint is that there seems to be about 6-7 different “body” variants but all seem suspiciously the same... not sure which is the best as I’ve only smelt this one and “body sheer” which also smells great.

I am surprised not more people have mentioned this being unisex. I am a man and picked up two of the 35ml for 20$ each at shoppers drug mart (Canada). On me it smells very clean, dry and woody. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes woody scents and would say it’s a safe blind buy for anyone who does.

JuneBug_89

Blind bought a 5 ml of this at TJ Max. I would love it is the Rose note was not so dominant on my skin.

gtabasso

weird with vanilla, rose and wormwood that makes the fragrance seem like a huge dose of pepper without the nose tickle, musk and cashmere wood; sort of herbal and bitter but still sweet and balanced; not very fruity, maybe some peach is present as in vintage fragrances, freesia is peeking through, very soft and interesting

Rose du soir

Fresh iris, rose and cashmeran. A lot of musky cashmeran. This is one of these "my skin but better" fragrances, with a silky and comforting vibe. Elegant, sensual and extremely feminine, but still easy to wear for any occasion. It evokes me the atmosphere of chic downtown districts in Fall, where the weather is rainy and windy and where well dressed women, their face enveloped in a warm fragrant scarf, are finding shelter for a moment under the bright lights of expensive boutiques.

evilscent

I love this! To me, it is a comforting feminine scent, the scent of a woman you would want a hug from during a troubling time. Warm sandalwood and the peach, but not fruity at all. Reminds me a little of Rapture by VS. And it has that 'classy' smell to it, the way Chloe perfumes do. Very understated but I'm in love! And I usually like very heavy orientals.

Katryna G

It is such a mystery to me, this scent. It is quite an unusual one. I don't really want to smell like this. I don't think it's sexy or anything special...but I got it and reach for it all the time since then.
From the notes I really do get wormwood (artemisia) a lot! In a nutshell it's a rose-peach combo above the huge woody-musky base. Slightly sweet and a bit powdery. The opening is very plasticky to me.
I don't know what it is but reminds me of Christmas.
Specifically, when i smell it, I picture those golden ornaments, tinsel and lights shining from a Christmas tree. Has warmth to it, a shimmery texture. Gold and glass for the bottle suits it very well.

Sanitta

This brings back some memories.. I picture strong, confident ,bussines woman wearing this perfume. The performance is ok. The scent of The body is amazing

DarlingNikki

This is one of those fragrances that I like in theory, but on my skin, it turns way too musky and suffocating. It smells nice in the air, but whew, I can't handle wearing it at all. Without the musk, it would be a winner for sure (I also don't care for the cashmeran note, either).

layla186

This one is very similar to Lancome Tresor, but with a softer version.
