Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women by Burberry is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women was launched in 2014. Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women was created by Natalie Gracia-Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu. Top notes are Lavender, Neroli, Pink Pepper and Aldehydes; middle notes are Orris, Petalia, Blackberry leaf and Orange Blossom; base notes are Musk, Woodsy Notes, Vetiver, Cedar and Coumarin.

As a pair to this year's edition for men Burberry Brit Rhythm for Men, Burberry is presenting an edition for women signed by perfumers of the house of Givaudan, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu. The new fragrances introduce "aromatic and fresh English lavender from Kent that plays a key role in the composition, while orange and iris add a dose of sensuality."

This is the first fragrance by Burberry that has lavender as a central note that plays the main role in the composition. English lavender is much more aromatic than French lavender, and its shades in this composition are more prominent. The creator's and the perfumer’s wish was to use the typical ingredient arriving from England, as pointed out by Nathalie Cetto. She also adds that the new Burberry perfume has a fundamental paradox in its essence – a confrontation of spicy ingredients such as pink pepper and floral notes of Petalia playing till the base notes. The scent of peony evokes youth and is somewhat lighter that the scent of rose, and the effect of the new Givaudan molecule provides the feeling that you are in a cloud of peony petals!

Top notes are composed of English lavender, pink pepper, and neroli, taking us to the heart of orris absolute, blackberry leaves, and orange blossom combined with a specially patented molecule of the house of Givaudan named Petalia carrying the scent of peony accords. The base incorporates vetiver, musk, and vibrant wood.

Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women arrives as 30, 50, and 90 ml EDT. The offer also included 150 ml body lotion, 50 ml hair scent, 150 ml body wash, and 100 ml deodorant.

Just like the version for men Burberry Brit Rhythm for Men, the fragrance for women is closely connected with music and acoustic performance, explains Christopher Bailey. Like previous perfumes of the Burberry collection, the new fragrance for women features the DNA of the brand and follows the style of the house. Bailey adds, "Rhythm for Women has the aim to capture emotion, excitement, and attitude that live music provides. That is truly a kind of adrenaline that you get from the music." The color of the new perfume's liquid is soft pink and contains a powdery softness.

This fragrance was promoted and accompanied by a Burberry fashion line. The line included a special collection of leather jackets and smoky-eye make-up worn by Suki Waterhouse in a provocative video ad and black and white advertising campaign that also announced the new Burberry perfume edition. Bailey points out that from the launch of Burberry Brit Rhythm fragrance, clothes, purses, and nail polishes will be created to be wearable together, thanks to a new division in the house of Burberry.

Wafts of Blue Grass. Very heavy lavander powder vibe. If that's what you like. Can feel medicinal in a clinical sense. Some patchouli wouldn't hurt. Lasts a while in hot weather.

Nataliemespino

Very lavender-forward. After a bit, I lost all of the other notes except for a very powdery lavender. It isn’t bad, but I don’t love powdery scents so this isn’t really for me. It does smell very clean and fresh, like clean laundry. It’s very light and pleasant with moderate longevity. Not bad but not great.

QueOndaGuera

I love lavender frags. This is…not my favorite version. It isn’t offensive at all, but the lavender loses the green/almost masculine element that you can find in Libre and others which I guess I really enjoy. Brit Rhythm is very sweet, which veers into “fabric softener” territory maybe because of the other floral notes? It just isn’t one I’d seek out to purchase. It does have good longevity however, as most Burberry frags do

anna222

Boring. It’s not bad but it’s just a boring light powdery lavender scent with a hint of sweetness. It’s kinda fresh but the lavender in this is so similar to pillow sprays to make you sleep…which isn’t bad but my vibe with perfumes is to smell amazing, which this just isn’t.

Kroche78

Smells like Desitin.

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

I only ever had a travel size of both this and Brit Sheer, this being my favorite out of the two. But the other day I used Libre EDT and I thought, with its millisecond at the opening reminding me of this, “I really need to find a bottle of Brit Rhythm” and I did. Oof it’s so good, even better out of a big bottle. So much more powdery than I remember! Which is, for me, a pleasant surprise.

And paired with L’Erbolario Iris lotion 😚👌 Ahhhhh.

Super fresh yet cozy scent; uplifting and calming, simultaneously. Mass-appealing without being “basic,” youthful yet not immature. Appropriate any time, anywhere. And I bet if you layered this with Goddess, you’d find yourself in Mon Guerlain territory. Maybe I’ll try it someday.

brandiwine1980

I adore this! Reminds me of a perfume from my childhood! Maybe the Jovan Individuality series, air or water?! Or just gives me similar vibes to cool water and aqua di gio? I don’t know, but it’s calming and comforting. Definitely sample if you like fresh scents, aquatics or light, musky florals! The lavender isn’t obvious, but I do think this is a great bedtime scent! Leans more feminine than masculine, but a guy could pull this off. I also think some younger girls would like this as a first perfume, my 7 year old likes it! Edit: Maybe it’s Lovely as Tine1world mentioned. I haven’t smelled that in ages, but my sister wore it so that may possibly be what it reminds me of.

silvertealight

an oldie but goldie comforting lavender scent that i can’t get my hands on anymore but it’s of my faves!! i used this throughout my teen years and i’ve gone through a whole full-size bottle! it’s nostalgic for me and so fresh, clean, floral and youthful but not juvenile. i love this so much!

PlanetGrl

Lavender is such a recognizable scent that it’s used in many laundry products, so I get the comparison to laundry products. What I think this fragrance is not getting credit for is the “chic-ness” created by the rest of the notes. If you must call it laundry/dryer sheets, then this smells like when you put on clothes still warm from the dryer on a crisp fall day. It is the pleasant and comforting, somewhat unassuming smell of fresh laundry plus 𝘺𝘰𝘶.

Tine1world

It's been a while since I bothered. I bought this unboxed for five Aussie dollars. Cheap. I've umming and ahing about what is is that this reminds me of and there's three fragrances that this falls into, although not a clone, however, if you are familiar with, SJP ' Lovely ', Worth's, 'Je Reviens' or EA's . 'Bluegrass' this is definitely in that aromatic class. It's not too heavy on the lavender on me but it's there. I understand that laundry aroma many of the reviews talked about but it is a little less green than the other scents I mentioned. It's a summer scent for me. I am very much reminded of those other scents that share DNA.. There's less longevity that I would have liked, three hours on me. The bottle is heavy with an interesting art deco ish vibe. It's kinda a happy scent as far as it feels. But yes. I miss the 'Je Reviens' parfum I once had. This reminds of that.

Ninubs

I'm clearly not a trained nose because I thought this was creamy and sweet. Anyway, I really love it! Feminine and inoffensive

morphoevgenia

In perfumery, sage and lavender are very close to each other. And I found out that on dry-down this perfume is very-very similar with JM wood sage and salt. Actually, my colleague uses sage&salt, so I got very accustomed with this scent, but one day shockingly sniffed it of myself. xD It is very clean, refreshing perfume with quiet, but persistant presence. Heck, it is on me even after shower as a faint skin scent!
It is also similar to Guerlain Insolence EDT. This fairy dust type of fragrance.

SalinasL

Dryer sheet, laundryish lavender, but not overwhelmingly chemical. Humid, like warm towels hanging in a linen closet. It’s nice. My quandary is that I love natural-smelling clean, laundry-type musks, but I dislike orris, “petalia,” and tonka, so I’m on the fence with this one. Orris is very prominent, while petalia is only mildly noticeable and tonka is not really evident. I think, on balance, I like it.

an_baum

yawn, adjust the blinds, tumble out some wrinkles, fold & forget.

noodlehead19

laundry, heavily seasoned with dryer sheets, left on a bed of linens to cool off. this is how the air smells around that pile of laundry. it smells fresh, but also dusty at the same time? conjures a very unique sensation in my nose. whatever it is, it's comforting but also edgy and brusque. to me it falls on the masculine end of feminine perfume, and I don't think the lavender plays into that. it's not aggressive though, and it sits pretty close to the skin. longevity isn't the best, yet I wouldn't overspray; it teeters on headache-inducing in large quantities. for what it's worth, I rather like this (as a lavender lover), but I'm not sure I'd repurchase.

JPtak06

Im obsessed with lavender perfumes so naturally I thought I was going to love this perfume. This was a blind buy for me so I wasn’t exactly sure of what to expect. Immediately as soon as I applied it to my skin I noticed it was a very light fragrance. I let it sit on my skin for about an hour after that and I realised this was an extremely aquatic scent. So I went to check the notes and of course aldehyde was listed. Nice perfume but I will most definitely give it away because of the very sweet aquatic lingering scent it has after it dries down.

AgataO

This is one of my compliment getters (sadly not all of my perfumes have a feedback at all - so I enjoy, when people around me will comment in a positive way about any of them)
For me it really is a really nice balanced, floral and "delicate", so office friendly perfume.
Unfortunately does not last very long on my skin - 3-4 hours, after that wafts and mostly skin scent - but it is still one of my favourite perfumes

KittyDeBeauvoir

This stuff is divine.

I have heard an ugly rumour that this is discontinued, and I have also been on a lavender kick lately, so - naturally - I needed to get my hands on a bottle.
It's so much better than I expected!
Yes, there's a definite laundry powder element, but - hey - I like that (when done well).
It's slightly sharp, clean, soft lavender with gentle violets (orris root, apparently) and warm musk.

Geberally, I'm getting lavender, pink pepper, orris root, aldehydes, neroli, musk, and... sure...it has a particular woodiness. Sadly, nothing screams 'blackberry leaf' or 'orange blossom', but I'm not mad.

Certainly, if you overspray, you'll choke yourself, so...be kind.
I'm also completely thrown by why this is a part of the "Brit" line. It smells nothing like "Brit". The only similarity are the bottles.

The longevity and sillage is actually impressive, considering "laundry scents" don't tend to hang around on me. This, and "Blanche" are similar in terms of uber-clean scents of this vein. This is cozier whilst "Blanche" is more clinical (still a compliment, it's bomb).

I love the bottle. A tall, rectangular glass with an engraved optical-illusion pattern. Fun!
A comforting weight. The plastic cap is okay. A bit at ends with the heavy glass aspect, but no biggie.

I've used between 1/4 and 1/3 of a 90ml bottle, and I'm already nervous about where to get my next Rhythm fix.

Repurchase-worthy!

Clean & Powdery LAVENDER-IRIS MUSK With Petalia. It's hard to balance refreshing with cozy qualities, but this scent artfully strikes that balance imho. This may be discontinued in some countries, but still widely available in North America. Opens with an aldehydic burst of lavender & neroli accented by pink pepper, that deepens into the heart of orris-root diffused by petalia with hints of blackberry-leaf & orange-blossom that has powdery, floral, fresh, earthy and near-creamy tones. This all rests on a floral-woody-musk support base with vetiver & coumarin touches. The overall effect is of a clean, diffusive lavender-iris musk with petalia as its fuel. The petalia here may be in the background initially, but it's driving the bus, but I enjoy it's treatment here with soft purples of lavender and iris and a faintly creamy tone from orange-blossom.

Contrast to Insolence Guerlain:
These are different, but there are similarities with iris, orange-blossom & musk. Insolence has a forward violet & red-fruit accord. Roughly equivalent performance.

Overall: gorgeous clean & powdery lavender-petalia scent with excellent performance for year round wear. This was initially a like for me, but it's become a love. Enjoy!

otterfaces

I found the lavender note in this to be completely overwhelming. I tried to wash this off and I was still smelling it on my skin the next day.

Sherlock Ness Monster

I am so sad that this has been discontinued and so hard to find. It is the perfect scent for me to wear to work. I work in healthcare, so scents that I wear can't be too loud, too sweet, too spicy or sexy, too much of anything that would bother my patients when I am standing close to them while drawing blood or assisting with procedures. This one fits the bill perfectly and is very pleasant, spa-like, clean, and soft with my skin chemistry. I am carefully measuring out how often I wear it so I can hopefully make my bottle last for a while. It's such a gem and one of my favorites in my collection.

Skinscents4Fusspots

I just wanted to suggest Jil Sander Softly if you like Brit Rhythm but can no longer find it! They’re not identical as Softly doesn’t have Lavender in it, but they smell very similar in the dry down - something between a lotion and a fancy hair conditioner! Brit Rhythm settles into more of a lotion and Softly goes more the conditioner route, but from an arms length it’s a similar experience to wear them. Softly Eau de Petales also has a body lotion sort of vibe, but with noticeable rose and cherry blossom notes.

nzascentz

a nice, soft lavender that reminds me of laundry but in a sultry way. somewhat similar to products directed for babies. it’s nice for everyday wear & sophisticated enough for possibly nighttime wear.

Lotte_Liese

This perfume was discontinued some time ago and so as I searched for it in the UK for over a year, I knew I was a long shot from finding it. Its close sister Brit Rhythm Floral just wasn't the same thing and couldn't substitute. So you will imagine my surprise on finding a 90ml in a perfume store while on holiday in West Africa.
From the notes and numerous YouTube videos, I just knew I'd love it... and oh yes, now that I've tested and worn it, I absolutely do.

This is an EDT with EDT projection but EDP longevity.
It is fresh in the opening, clean due to a cedar based dry down, comforting from the musk, feminine, lavender leading, powdery from the iris, and faintly woody. I would like to smell this on a man, I think body chemistry might turn it unisex, but it coasts along that clean-musky-feminine zone. This turns very musky in the dry down (not white musk).

This is a perfume you wear for yourself, not to be smelt by others, but to feel good, feminine and clean. The sort of fragrance you'd put on right after a shower, and then get into your clean sheets for bed. It is not a loud performer but it lingers a long while (my skin doesn't absorb perfume quickly).

I've worn this in both cool and warm weather, humid and dry and I think it's suitable for all seasons. I have already secured a back-up bottle.

jazzscent13

I use this for the gym.., it’s a sporty citrus smell that almost tilts the line of cleaning solution. I’m going to finish my bottle because it’s only a little left.. but I’m definitely not replacing this.

PeacefulSunshine

This smells like very strong lavender laundry detergent. Not bad--but doesn't have that quieter elegance that I prefer in perfume. (If you love lavender, I think you will enjoy this!)

Maybe I'm just not a lavender person since the recent lavenders I have smelled recently all have this fuzzy, cloudy experience to them. I guess that's why lavender is supposed to be relaxing but I think because my brain is fuzzy already, my mind feels extra/too foggy when I smell this.

Ayeshaahmed

My all time favourite ! A very mature scent and lasts over a day specially if sprayed on clothes. I can’t find it anymore sadly ! Would love to grab again if I find it.

clairesque

I got a sample of this hoping it would be a lavender-forward, clean, fresh laundry kind of fragrance. It does have a little bit of that vibe, but there is a slightly spicy accord that makes the fragrance less clean-smelling and more of a traditional cologne. This is a unisex, almost masculine woody lavender scent.

Mynotaur

Mixed bag. Starts off smelling like a baby’s powdery bottom (in the best way though!) but fades to solid lavender and pepper. I really like elements of this fragrance but I do feel it has a very mature vibe to it - like a drawer liner for Nan’s undergarments… still, there is something there that I really love too… the spicy pepper I think. Reminds me of Lancôme’s miracle. Overall, a strange mix and a unique scent. Definitely not sad to have it in the collection because it evokes some memory I can’t quite access. When would I wear this though? Cool mornings would be cosy. Can’t see it as a date night one, it doesn’t vibe sexy for me in my thirties.

violetaura

Not a fan of the top notes. The pepper, lavender and aldehydes are unpleasant and very "cleaning product"- and not a good one either. But once that disappears i do enjoy the florals, subtle base notes, and it smells very clean and soft. It seems like a safe perfume that might be refreshing if you detect it on someone, but not one i gravitate towards or want as a signature scent. In fact I never like wearing it. Hating the top notes so much makes the whole experience bad for me, like I just dislike applying it.
I was going to get rid of it until I was reminded by Meta Perfume (a lovely, chill perfume channel on youtube) that you can layer perfumes to like them more. So I figured out layering with some of my favourites (Burberry Brit for women EDT and Ed Hardy Women's EDP) make them more "work friendly", as Rhythm can make them smell a bit more fresh and professionally generic. So I'll be keeping it and making some use out of it at least.

Brittbritt

This is overwhelmingly powder scent on me. The first hour I smell like a baby's bum. It then tones down into a very powdery lavender. Overall not a bad smell but definitely not for me!

denparin

powdery lavender, that's all i got. definitely not for me, has good staying power though

anna222

It’s a nice lavendery, little bit powdery, and soapyish scent. Not too soapy though. I can definitely pick out the orange blossom and lavender in this.

NVK

A great soapy fragrance. I like this. This is definitely not a unisex fragrance. I am guy and I feel that this one has more feminine vibe (with little masculine touch)

Rating: 7/10

JuJuBell

This is not my favorite perfume but I get compliments when I wear it. I only have a 1oz so I always take it on vaca. I do like that it's a heavier perfume so it doesn't simply sweat off easily in summer.

Flowers bloom here

I'm glad I only got a vial tester of this perfume. The opening is pleasant sweet lavender but has a strange medicinal, chemical note... but the drydown is pure Desitin ointment with baby powder sprinkled on top.... It's a definite no for me : (

jocing

This is soft, comforting, powdery, calm and relax. It give you some kind of soapy and laundry vibe. The lavender are prominent but the dry down is very impressive. The dry down is musky and woody and so comforting scent.

Is a must have perfume in everyonecollection. You can wear this in any occasion and easy to wear. Will plan to get a big bottles.

Fashionplatefanny

A new fragrance for me. It reminds me of Mon Guerlain in the dry down. The opening lavender appears to be brighter though, it does have a slight soapy/clean note to it but nothing laundry detergent or dryer sheet. I pick up on a creamy lipsticks/ compact powder thanks to the orris. The dry down is creamy and cosy like Mon Guerlain. It’s very lovely. It’s not as loud as Mon Guerlain, it’s softer and more feminine. I’m enjoying it.
I like the bottle but the cap is cheap.

MimesOtto

Soft, soapy and comforting scent, would be a great scent for work or in places where people have sensitivities, also it makes a great bed scent and after a shower...love that it is delicate, it has a place and time..

Holli

I like this a lot. It reminds me of hanging clothes out to dry and thunderstorms for some reason. It feels warm and hazy and humid. My only complaint is that it comes apart in the heat. I try not to wear this when it's too warm because the musk kind of takes over and gets sharp and icky. I'm not sure how else to explain it.

Lauren32

This is a great everyday perfume. It smelt awful on paper, but on the skin it's a sharp, sophisticated scent. It smells unique, even though hundreds of women wear it. If you hate lavender, pass on this one. An easy reach for me.

Edit:
At first this was a yes, now it's a no. There's just something very sharp and medicinal about this frag. It lasts all day on me unlike many other perfumes but by the end of the day I need a break. Its not super strong but the dry down is still zingy... catches in the back of your throat. The lavender is just too heavy for me think. I much prefer Gucci Bloom Acqua Di Fiori.

simnonin

This is a bit too strong for me. I find Burberry scents chemical-y. I'm willing to sell my 50ml!

Eveningrose

This is an all year round perfume for me ! Fell in love since I first smelled it back years ago ! I had 3 bottles now so far! This scent is fresh and a powdery lavender and dries down to mostly a sexy musk . It is a performer for sure! Such a gem! If I don’t know what to wear , I go with this !

MargotM

Stunning opening; totally unique in my collection. Explosive, woody, fresh...it sings!
I can taste this in the middle...too big a whiff and I get a dryness in the back of the throat.
Dry down is fresh, soft, musky, warm hug.

Edit: It's fast become a fave.

Tinabill

A soft melody not a “rhythm” rock’n roll 😂
I’m surprised most reviews describe BBR as a predominantly lavender perfume. On my skin it’s mainly orris-musk. Yes there is lavender in the opening that is a bit herbal and sharp (with the pink pepper) but this phase literally lasts a single minute on my skin. The lavender soon blends nicely with the citrusy florals for maybe 4 more more minutes, but that’s it for the lavender.
A very smooth, creamy, powdery orris soon shows up and together with a pillowy clean musk they last for the remaining 5 +/- hours (great for an EDT). The combination starts more as a cool clean powder in the vein of J&J baby shampoo then it slowly gets sweeter and warmer (I guess from the tonka) delving into makeup/lipstick powder territory. I agree that it is somewhat reminiscent of the late dry down of the Insolence family but while that is the loud, in your face, almost “insolent” cousin, BBR is more quiet, soft, and reserved.
I don’t get the “Rhythm “ rocker advertisement but rather a soft soothing melody 😆

lisperalta

Something about this perfume reminds me my childhood. It's so pretty and calm. I agree with other reviews, the dry down is nicer than the opening. If you like powdery iris scents this is for you. I just love it.

Freyaskywalker

I feel like this EDT is the grown up version of glossier you. The next perfume when the teenager wearing glossier grows to be a woman in her mid late 20s and wants to wear a powdery yet sophisticated and more complex EDT. Glossier is my signature scent and I am so glad an blind bought this one. Straight to my favs and I can see it becoming a daily wear specially in autumn

mikacorra247

I blind bought this thinking this would be a great airy scent for me to use outdoors, and would have great longevity in the heat of Borneo Island. It's airy & powdery lavender & musk. No sweetness, just straight up lavender. It reminds me of johnsons baby talc in the lavender scent. This is definitely something different from what I usually gravitate to. Do I hate it? No. But do I like it? Also no. It also doesn't last on me but my skin is known to "eat" perfumes, especially EDTs like this. This was a failed blind buy for me. Maybe I'll grow to love it someday..

buubuu

Scrolling down the Tiktok and saw a video that asked if you gonna wear one perfume for the rest of your life, what would it be? I immediately thought of this one and currently wearing it now.

Lavender, musky and peppery. So fresh yet very warm and comfy scent that goes very well with many occasions. Remind me of checker flannels. Warm and cozy. Lavender here is quite strong but if you like it, you will be okay. It’s not a head-turner like other perfumes. But very noticeable by others when I wear this.

I love Brit rhythm so much I have an edt, lotion and deodorant spray. Already used one edt and 2 deodorant spray. Currently stocking 2 edt and 2 deodorant for me. I personally prefer deodorant spray than edt because using the deodorant spray after the shower give me uplifting mood or when this turn into the skin scent, it’s still have that fresh out of shower soap feeling in your skin.

If you love Musky perfumes like me, Brit rhythm is the hidden gems. Day or night, winter or summer, anytime you like.

Rizaibb

The opening is heavy but the dry down is amazing! Projects well and lasts up to 12hours.

BASMAJ

Lavender Downy or comfort + Clorox = Burberry Brit Rhythm ..clean fresh... high dose of lavender but not like the lavender in essential oils ..its more like the lavender in johnson and johnson baby powder & clothes detergents..very soft smooth and beautiful.

Update: the dry-down is nice ..really long-lasting! 12 + hours! Heavy projection in the first couple of hours 8/10

Plants

Cold, berry-sweet, laundry-fresh powder. This is perfect for around the home layered with Cloud body mist so I don't use too much of it. A good comforting "wife-material" hug kind of a scent.

Sarahaliii

Its pleasent fresh clean sent u can wear ir to the office or at day or summer or spring ..u can def. Smell lavender and white flowers and sometjing abit sweat

Jacquis

Burberry Brit Rhythm EDT for her fits somewhere between Lalique Satine and Lalique Living (in cooler weather) with a splash of Guerlain Insolence (in warmer weather). Cozy, warm, slightly sweetened, powdery lavender but I also sense violets when the temperature rises above 80F. Easy to wear most of the year. Casual. Moderate performance. Does not smell like Burberry Brit EDP (for her).

jossieivancic

this scent is sweet although not overly sweet, i love fragances that make me want to bite into them & this deffs does that.
very girl next-door vibe though, not a complicated scent very simple and sweet but not too basic.
im in highschool and have gotten afew compliments from my friends, also lasts!!! after 6h+ i was still able to catch sniffs of it on myself, although wouldnt have been a problem if longevity was only 2-3hs since i bring the bottle with me, i have the 50ml bottle and its quite a simple but cute bottle.

GingerWest

Soft, powdery, lavender with musk, and a little bit of woods. Soothing, pretty, clean, and always feels appropriate.

victoriabarretta

This is good good. It isn’t what I expected when reading the notes, it’s a bit more powdery and ‘cold’ feeling than I had hoped.

But I really love it at night before bed! It’s clean without being ‘old lady’ or ‘soapy.’

This will be in my collection for a long time. Great price too.

You know that tingle you get in your nose when you sniff a dryer sheet? It’s that in a bottle.

alit

I feel like scent has been greatly underestimated considering how not very popular it is, compared to other much less impressive designer fragrances that get all the rave and wear.
Naturally, if you don't like lavender, oris, musc and aldehydes, you need to stay away from it. But that said, and if you can appreciate a perfume featuring these notes I urge you to try this one. It is very soft and enveloping. One of the softest, non-herbal lavenders, powdery yet transparently- musky and only tiny bit of aldehydes to "lift" it up. Is it modern, sultry and striking - no! But it is elegant and timeless for sure.

Snowflake8000

Too powdery and odd for me.

Farah farzana

Too strong and make me get headaches

TarahB

I purchased several samples during the first lockdown and found myself wearing it most nights straight out of the shower. It’s a beautiful strong floral lavender scent and it lasts absolutely ages on me!
So of course I purchased a 100ml bottle👌🏼

There’s something very comforting/calming about this that makes me feel relaxed which I guess is to do with the lavender.
A little goes a long way, a few sprits is all you need!
I still mainly like to wear it at home.
If you’re looking for a strong lavender scent this one’s for you😊

Let me recount to you a little story about Brit Rhythm. 2014, I had just bought Chloé Eau de Parfum during school break. I'm excited to wear it for the new term, but my best friend says she can't stand the scent. Being a good friend, and with a slight broken heart, I set out looking for a new substitute– one that would not offend my friend's nose, but one I would like all the same. When I smelled Brit Rhythm for the first time at the store, it reminded me of an auntie. No biggie I moved on. That day I found no perfume I quite liked, so I went home empty handed.
I'd kept a few paper strips though, and Brit Rhythm– she kept inviting me back in. Her drydown was powdery and floral, but never overwhelming. I felt great comfort whenever she greeted my nose. At the time, I was a student at a boarding school, and we were allowed to go into town during the weekends. That whole week I kept her under the pillow close to me. I would smell her before I go to bed, first thing I wake up, between breaks, anticipating the weekend I could finally have her in my keep. I did not ask my best friend if she approved of the scent– I didn't care, I had found the love of my life.
I'm rambling, but I think you can tell how much I loved this perfume. I don't wear it anymore, I've since found others that better suit my personality and essence. It's still near and dear to my heart though, and I would love to have this as a room or linen scent. It's sparkly fresh, crisp, and airy. Whenever I smell this I think of posh kids in vine-covered brick buildings studying for their exams. Brit Rhythm is bright, clean, inoffensive, and streamlined. I don't remember the performance anymore, but remembered buying a set that came with a rollerball as well as a body lotion. That worked well for keeping the scent longer.

I got this as a present and I’ve got to say at first I really didn’t like it. I’m more of a sweet, gourmand person and this is everything but gourmand. Now with a bit more mature nose I feel it’s quite a pretty scent. It’s very fresh yet not a citrus bomb, elegant yet not old due to the exciting spices. The lavender gives it a somewhat familiar, cozy scent. Truly calming. It smells like cleanness itself but not in a soapy, bubbly, overpowering way. Smelling this feels like falling between freshly changed white sheets on a summer night, perhaps near the ocean. Gorgeous. But I do have to say, it is kind of headache inducing for me, can be really strong.

Spicy, strong and fresh. The lavender note is very strong!

Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women is a prime example of a perfectly good fragrance bungled by an inept marketing team.

First of all: why is this a Brit flanker? It has nothing in common with the original Brit at all: this is an airy, musky lavender, while the original is a rich pear-almond doll's-head gourmand. The two fragrances literally don't have a single note in common. Rhythm for Women is a perfectly good fragrance of its own right. Not everything has to ride the coattails of Brit's success, and the decision to market this as such shows Burberry's insecurity about releasing new fragrances.

Secondly: the whole Rhythm thing. It's clunky, it's cliché, it's kind of hard to spell. The black-and-white video, young-edgy-rocker-chick marketing is exhaustingly washed-out and overdone. It also doesn't match this scent at all. This is a pleasant, airy, musky, inoffensive office or evening scent for a woman who knows how to do her taxes and buys the high-quality soft double-ply toilet paper. This is a clever, comforting scent for a grown up who has her life together and knows precisely what brings her pleasure. She's wearing this because she likes it, not because she's trying to say or be something.

Burberry effectively scrapped Rhythm for Women in 2015, replacing it with a flanker of this flanker called Brit Rhythm for Her Floral (and replacing Rhythm for Men with a corresponding Rhythm for Him Intense). The change in naming conventions from Women/Men to Her/Him, the addition of one more word to an already long title full of irrelevant qualifiers, the identical bottles full of near-identically-colored perfume... Burberry was intent on erasing this one entirely, replacing it with an entirely different scent and fooling anyone looking for the old one into buying the new if they're not careful.

All of this is a shame, because Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women is a high-quality, clever, near-universally likeable scent, predominated by a soft, musky, airy lavender and the gentle, formless floral air of the petalia molecule.

This lavender feels more distinctly aromatic, complex, and herbal than most lavender I come across. In brief moments when I'm not paying attention, it actually reminds me of the fuzzy pale green stems and densely-packed purple flowers of the lavender I have growing at home in the summer. I think this is firstly a testament to the quality of the lavender material used here, no trite repetition of a tired accord but directly sourced from the original scent, and secondly explained by the particular special of lavender used. Rhythm for Women does not utilize the less aromatic French lavender, nor the near-ubiquitous lavandin cultivar made by crossing English lavender with spike lavender which as made its way into every lavender-scented body wash and soap. No, this is entirely English lavender, delicate and faintly sweet yet aromatic and herbal. English lavender produces much less essential oil or frsgrance molecule per plant than lavandin, so the commitment to pure English lavender here really is a commitment to quality materials that is rarely seen today. There is a very mild earthiness to it, with plenty of herbal, light-green nuances.

Rhythm for Women opens with a citrus-y sparkle. It is a linear scent, with this bright sparkle of fresh citrus and fruity-fresh blackberry leaf most prominent in the first few hours and fading continually into the drydown. The presence of the lavender is constant, but this never smells like a pure lavender essential oil of any sort, or even a photorealistic lavender with nothing else to it: no, this is a sprig of English lavender in a petal-soft and fresh lingerie store.

Indeed, something in Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women reminds me instantly of a Victoria's Secret scent, but not in a bad way. For some reason I'm reminded of the 2007 Very Sexy spray; I think it's the general fresh sparkle, musk, and blackberry that they have in common. Rhythm for Women, however, is much more soothing and gentle, less a bombastic plea for attention and more of an elegant hello.

There is a delightful muskiness to Rhythm for Women, largely couched in the rich lavender itself, which feels mature, confident, and luxurious, rather than screechy, simple, or wanton. This is a rich, layered, complex scent worn by a confident, mature woman to the opening of an art gallery. She is not necessarily an artist, but she is visiting and enjoying the experience of something new. She carries herself with confidence and strength and embraces the things that bring her pleasure without shame. Perhaps this woman is the persona around whom I would have built the marketing for Rhythm Women. Certainly, nothing about this is rocker chick. Nothing in it is rebellious, or even particularly young and naïve: Rhythm for Women does not feel old, but it does feel like an evening (or maybe even office) scent for confident adults in their thirties with regular jobs and 401ks. The Rhythm woman is not rebelling: she simply knows what she likes and embraces it wholeheartedly and with confidence and pleasure (though, perhaps, that is the greatest rebellion of all).

The general airy balance of musk and citrus-blackberry-leaf fresh aldehyde sparkle here feels very much like the sort of scent VS would snap up and sell along with their lingerie, except for, perhaps, the bold presence of the English lavender. There's no citrus listed here, but I'm imagining a hint of something like mandarin at the top, along with plenty of sparkling fresh aldehydes and the slightest prickle of pink pepper that is not spicy, but merely touches the nose in that gentle perfume-y way. I don't think there is any actual citrus here, but my nose is playing tricks on me, and the combined freshness, sparkle, and slight prickle of something in the opening, along with some background fruitiness, reads to me like there might be a hint of mandarin there.

The body of this scent largely is made up of petalia, that odd synthetic molecule that smells like florals but not quite any actual flower. It's perfectly light and airy, suggesting gentle, fluffy, light-pink floral clouds without any of the harsh edges that real florals sometimes carry with them. It's fresh and feels slightly fruity to me -- this might be the influence of blackberry leaf or something else, but something about Rhythm is unmistakably a fresh fruity scent. It is no flower at all, perhaps most closely related to an already-soft peony with any distinctive edges shaved off.

This sounds disparaging, but really the petalia is quite a pleasant scent, fresh and diffusive. It feels quite light and airy, matching the sparkling top of aldehydes and pink pepper. Both of these accords counteract the grounded, aromatic, slightly earthy musky presence of the lavender. The lavender keeps the rest of the scent from floating away, becoming so light, airy, and inoffensively commonplace as to hardly be more than a VS room spray, while these lighter, sparklier, designer-perfume-ier elements wrap the lavender up and make it perfectly crowd-pleasing and safe.

I don't detect much wood: this scent is so linear that, some respectable six hours in, I can still smell the overall shape of the fragrance, from opening through middle notes, with very little room left for any base notes to really shine. There is definitely musk, although I would argue it is paired with the lavender more than hidden in the drydown as unnecessary, uninspired musk so often is. I can see hints of vetiver and cedar adding to the overall fresh profile of this fragrance, but nothing about it feels strongly woody to me at any stage.

All in all, Rhythm for Women is gentle, diffusive, inoffensive, musky, and pleasant, carrying a Victoria's Secret style mall perfuminess while miraculously avoiding all of the headache and much of the cheap cliche those often fall into. On the other side, it features and highlights a rare high-quality lavender, with facets that are more aromatic, varied, realistic, and slightly masculine than most lavender scents I've gotten to smell. The combination conveys confidence and maturity to me, while retaining a sparkle of laughter and fun that I'm tempted to call youthful, until I correct myself: nothing innate about youth owns these qualities. This is a grown-up adult woman having fun.

This is not a rebellious rocker teen scent, but a celebration of little pleasures for real adults. It lasts some six hours with projection that is slightly more faint than that of many designer fragrances released today, but this likely helps it avoid the headachey overwhelming qualities of those scents. Rhythm for Women manages to be light as air and play within the boundaries of designer scent tradition while featuring some fascinating notes.

Overall, this is a very pleasant scent that I think appeals to a wide range of professional women, and it's a shame Burberry bungled the marketing so severely as to kill it. If you can find it and you like soft, gentle lavender fragrances with a touch of aldehyde sparkle, give Burberry Brit Rhythm for Her a try.

Anyone selling a bottle? Europe

mirisfrik

Is it really discounted or just packaging refresh?

Fouquet5%

I'm confused. Is this the same as the other listed Burberry Brit Rhythm EDT? The notes look very different and I can't seem to find a EDP on the market. I'm looking for a lavender fragrance to match the lotion and body wash I already have. I wrongfully purchased Brit Rhythm Floral thinking it was the same but it is very different. ...anyone with insight?

I like to wear lavender scents to bed and thought this one would be nice since I already use the bath products and enjoy them.

Snowflake8000

One of the worst fragrances I’ve ever smelled. Smells like electronics when you open them up. PVC & plastic. This really stinks. To me, it is disgusting & cheap.

Marjo1975

I love this one. It smells like woodsy lavender to me. Very unique.

Snowflake8000

I definitely smell the play dough / silly putty note. Not into this one. Smells plastic-y.

faerie777

Extremely floral grandma scent. A very herby strong lavender alongside other florals. This also smells a bit like rose to me. I typically don’t enjoy these kinds of fragrances but if what I’ve mentioned seem to appeal you then try it out!

Tifffyy

I am on the hunt to find this perfume! I found what I thought was a bottle of this at TJMAXX for $12, but when I opened it, I found that I had bought a body lotion instead. I liked what I smelled right away. This is such a classy, comforting scent. I feel like this would be perfect for spring and summer, but honestly feel like it is perfect for any time of year just for the comforting, cozy scent.

bbrooxutz

I absolutely love this perfume. It reminds me of guerlain insolence. The price is very good and the quality is amazing. The bottle looks very good

birdface

Dunno how to feel about this -- it's rich and less generic smelling but I'm not sure if it's really my taste.

LeaLush

This was awful. I've never gotten a headache from perfume until I wore this. Sharp heavy screeching lavender start to finish. I had to wash my sweater twice to get this stuff out. To me it's like a lavender scented toilet bowl cleaner mixed with soap. Don't not, I repeat, do NOT blind buy this!

Cess268

This is truly a hidden gem. Like nothing I've smelled before. The lavender is done right in this. Its a beautiful, powdery, lavender musk. People say the lavender is harsh in this but it isn't offensive or medicinal to me at all. I get a whisper of lavender and soft powder. I have the roller ball and I am definitely purchasing a full bottle. This is good for summer nights, Fall & spring. Very nice Lavender done Right.

MrsMRe

This is a really complex composition. It's soft and powdery at the heart but there's a distinct citrus-fresh note from the neroli at the top. I don't get lavender at all. As others have mentioned, it is STRONG. I bought the lotion so that I could dab it very lightly on my wrists, because even one spray was too much for me.

MaryushaMTL

This one has a vintage vibe....like the perfume my mom used in the 80s. The initial spray is too much, even headachey. Give it some time. After 30 mins it settles into something better, even cozy. It is very sweet on me, powdery. Lavender is there, yes, but it is not dominant on my skin....this is not what I imagined lavender to smell like in a fragrance and therefore I would not categorize this as a lavender scent. Yes it has that clean feel, but I prefer Philosophy Pure Grace if you are looking for a soapy fragrance. It seems very strong, therefore 1, 2 sprays max or you will suffocate yourself and those around you. Definitely NOT unisex in my opinion, no baby, no baby powder, no dryer sheets. Powdery musky clean sweetness. I like it but I am not in love yet. I am sure it will grow on me.

dismalharmony

This is not quite what I thought it’d be! In my amateur mind, I was expecting a sweeter, milder lavender scent. This instead knocks your off your feet with unsweetened, herbaceous, heady lavender - I guess that’s the difference between the French and English varieties! It sweetens as it dries down, with mild white florals and a whisper of citrus. A little sophisticated but not pompous, living the high life but never forgetting her roots, head in the clouds but feet on the ground. Moderate/strong sillage, dries to a skin scent at 3-4 hours on me. Clings to hair and clothes much longer. Waking up to this scent, faded but definitely still there, is quite a pleasant way to start the day. With all that being said, I really, really like it... not quite a “love”, but it’s up there. Maybe not my signature, but it could be someone’s... it’s interesting enough to stand out, but inoffensive enough to wear at the office or around the house.

Edit: After some thought and a little more time wearing it, I’ve decided to upgrade my “like” to a “love”. This fragrance has the ability to make you feel put-together even in a sweatshirt and unwashed hair. The performance is also nothing to scoff at. The laughably low price tag is absolutely not an indicator of quality.

gtabasso

very soft, close, powdery orris-forward lavender and vanilla fragrance, pretty without being loud or sharp or herbal, like a powder puff on the skin, beautiful on the top but then goes a little sour and more of an orchid feel to it but still liking it a lot

Pooky

This is lovely. True lavender over fresh cedar. It has a dryer sheet powderiness to it. It's a peaceful fragrance, and it's what I thought Mon Guerlain would be like. Have I found a summer scent I love? I think so!

Perfumelady88

All I get is lavender and baby powder. And I love those sort of scents so it works for me. It smells so clean and pretty. Surprisingly, it's long lasting and projects. People will smell you. I highly recommend if you like lavender/baby powder/soft/clean scents

Bombalurina

Nice, fresh, clean, inoffensive
Something nice to to have if it’s cheap, I’ll probably pick it up if it’s extra discounted, since it’s not something I’d pay a lot of money for. But it’s nice, just nice

AnneofCleves

Perfect perfume for oppressively hot summer days where another scent would be nauseating. It gives me expensive lavender dryer sheet / clean laundry aldehyde vibes. I can imagine this being a good ‘I’m going to the gym’ perfume. Or for the office when you just want to smell clean and put together. A little goes a long way. I wore it to work on Monday and it lasted 12+ hrs. And even after washing my scrubs (I do laundry on Saturday) they still smelled like Burberry Brit Rhythm! For such longevity the price point is amazing. Especially if you go to a discounter site.

devaluxe

Man I wish I smelled what some of you smell. I get a little lavender but it’s hiding behind all the pepper. I literally feel like I just snorted a rail of pepper. It’s so overpowering. I get whispers of the other notes but for some reason my nose just goes straight to pepper and although pepper isn’t an awful smell, I don’t want to smell like it. Maybe I have an old bottle or something. I’m glad I didn’t pay much for it because I won’t even give it to my daughter because then I’d have to smell it on her. Blech!

Danaalr

This used to be my signature fragrance my senior year of high school. Beautiful fresh, clean and office friendly but i remember the longevity being a joke, it doesn't last as long as you would hope for it to be considering the price. I remember running out of 2 bottles my senior year because I had to keep re-applying over and over because it kept fading quickly.

dalia-banna

I don't like how it smells on me, there is a note there that smells weird on my skin.
I like the bottle though, it looks nice in photos. LOL

temporal

I started testing it in winter, but it reveals itself better on the warmer skin in springtime!
With Burberry fragrances you usually get a very stable accord, and the development of the Rhythm is not dynamic: through hours, you hear same opening accord.
The composition is pleasant, it is structured around the cold lavender in a warm and quiet cloud of neroli, orange blossom, and woodsy notes. This fragrance needs the warm touch, and it something your skin should give to the fragrance. That's why for pale skin you need a warmer season, while people with darker skin could enjoy it in a colder season as well.

drugstore classics

I've not always been able to wear mainstream designer scents with success. The issues? The aroma chemicals used don't always agree with me, and often disappointment lingers that otherwise winners are weak or short lived.

While I haven't yet grown to LOVE Burberry Brit Rhythm, she is the first Burberry I can wear and the only one so far with Out of this World sillage and longevity. I think it's a combination dryer sheet musk, aldehydes, and lavender that accomplishes this feat, with such effectiveness that she could easily run off many a Burberry lover. Powerhouse!

There is little to no restraint in this otherwise elegant scent. Trigger happy fragranticans beware. :) Use with great care, but with a sense of discovery and respect. You will find few designer fragrances that hold up to heat and humidity like this one. A winning recommendation for the dog days of summer.

Note - If you are a lover of all things vintage, as I am, you may eventually realize that this is like a modern take on Blue Grass. Not that they are alike, but the category and use are the same. Lavender with character and without sugar. It somehow reminds me of a scent the Equestrian club could get behind!

Atomikbomb_

Oh my goodness, I don't understand what the issue is with one, I think it's very nice! I braced myself, but it's dang NICE.

Yes, it's laundryish, but it's a *great* laundry smell. Perfect for days when you'd want to smell fresh with a little bit of interesting undertones. It's not ridiculously fascinating, but it isn't boring. With this being said, I'm a sucker for lavender. It's not a sweet French lavender, it's a cool, brisk lavender. Typically musk comes off as warm, but this isn't. I don't get much wood here, maybe a bit of vetiver but that could be power of suggestion.

I got 12 samples for a screaming deal, which is 24 ml, which I count as a "have". I actually like that because I'm not hugely into the Burberry asthetic, and this is perfect to take in my purse so those little things will be handy. This is a solid fragrance to wear in casual to semi-formal things. Slightly "Country Club", but not too upscale.

TheAliGonzo

On paper, this was giving me the impression of those air freshener balls from shoes or like straight up shoe foam-rubber...I was intrigued but skeptical...then...in the drydown on my actual skin, I got a whiff of the same DNA and what I loved in the Burberry Rhythm Intense for men.. Particular to this fragrance, however; the Orris, the Coumarin (tonka) and the woods really sing on skin. If you can get over that initial synthetic blast (or if you are me and have begun to love it because you are sick and need help xD) then you will get some decent wear out of this. Good for casual spring days.

sibaaah

masculine and headache inducing

Lalunalynn

Sorry, but this smells like those scented blocks you hang down the loo. To me this is not nice at all.

Anne of Green Gables

You might love London or hate it. You might love Burberry or hate it.Harsh in the beggining but wait wait... After one hour, 2 hours is beauty, cozy, comfy, soft.. I love it..

cherylaf

Got this because some reviews on here were saying these reminded them of Infusion d'Iris and also Love Chloe, two of my favorite frags. Also, it was almost criminal how affordable a tester of this was.

This smells exactly like those Swiffer lavender mop pads, which is coincidentally what I used to clean my floors with. But I love the way those pads smell and I like this fragrance too! It's fresh, comforting, powdery. I can see myself reaching for this a lot when I need something low-key.

alessa1185

This is one of my favorite fragrance at the moment! So vividly, dynamic, fresh, floral and sweet!! all in one spray! To me, it has similar notes to Halloween from J. del Pozo, i find them quite similar!! I guess this is my 4th bottle of this Burberry Rythm floral. I just love the sillage's smell,so fresh,so floral,so dynamic!!!!

SmellsLikeMoneyWellSpent

I don’t know what’s wrong here.
Lavender- good.
Pink pepper- I love this note!
Aldehydes- very very good for every vintage freak.

Then we have pretty orange flower pretty and a bit too powdery iris, but still I don’t hate it.

Musk - good. Woods- good. Vetiver- good. I love all the notes here. Fresh, clean, soapy - good, good and good!

So why on earth does it give me instant headache? In summer I get sick almost immediately, when it’s -10* Celsius it takes some time to get there, but still I feel it sooner or later.

The sillage and longevity is enormous on me and worth the price of super hyped turbo niche. One spray is too much, I have to try to press halfway.

Yet You can find the big tester for ~15$

I don’t know what to do with it. I love it but I can’t enjoy it at all.
And the loose plug irritates me a bit as well...

Oh, it’s unisex 100%, but it has this retro male vibe, kind like a grandpa cologne.

Swedelish

Since receiving it I've worn it every night after my shower before bed and it's been lovely! Lavender, bright florals, soft powder, musk, some woods and tonka is what it is. I own Insolence Eau Glacee and the similarities between the two are there. One is more fruity with violets, the other more floral with lavender, otherwise very close. I was debating repurchasing Eau Glacee because my bottle is almost empty, but Brit Rhythm delivers the same feeling with a few tweaks which I think I prefer! Glacee is sweeter, younger. The drydown of Insolence edp violets restricts it from the "icy" promise it tries to make in the opening. Brit Rhythm holds onto the cold factor, while maintaining just enough warmth with orris and tonka. It's been snowing and it fits in with the wintery chill nicely. As I mentioned, it makes a great after shower and bedtime scent. It's really so versatile and the only Burberry fragrance I still own.

Burberry does fresh and clean better than the opposite, sweet stuff. IMO.
It costs next to the nothing online, which is great but that deterred me for a long time. I was concerned the price tag was a reflection of quality. Very pleased to say not so. It may not be trendy or for everyone, but a well-done fragrance of this type. It can be potent if oversprayed, or a dusting with a light hand. It's nice to be able to control in that way. No complaints with longevity. Great stuff!

Sparkleball22

This has got to be my favorite perfume of all time. So comfortable, infinitely interesting, unisex-ish and has a scent journey that lasts like 12 hrs!
Stellar longevity is what sets this apart from other frags in my collection that I love, but they don’t have the stamina to pull a full workday. I think it oozes class and sophistication!
Hazy, herbaceous, delicious puffy cloud of comfort. Yes it is like really good lavender-berry laundry fabric softener with a bit of woods underneath and some sunshine up on top. So it qualifies as a “clean fresh” fragrance. Not perfumey for noses that don’t like “perfume.”
Must have a sweet candy-ish element that my nose doesn’t get because my partner always thinks it smells like candy?

The transformation this perfume undergoes on the skin is a ride I really enjoy throughout the day. The beautiful sheer musk in the base is magical. It keeps my nose from getting bored and lasts forever!! This is a love for me...but perhaps not a safe blind but unless you like herbal, unisex, or slightly powdery…:)

Ferra_Verto

Medicinal dusty lavender, with a semi-buttery orris root, and fresh powdery musk. Very clean (almost squeakily so), but with a distinct warmth that makes it considerably more wearable. It's kin to Infusion d'Iris by Prada, but while that smells more 'perfumed', this is a more natural approach. Definitely like.

Juttajii

This is magical.
I really hate lavender and everything powder-y and liquorish-y, but I can't get enough of this.
As others have said here, I hated this at the first spray. But then I had to come back to smell it, and come back, and come back...
There IS something medicinal here, AND something artificial. Still this is so magical that it makes me smile - and overspray - everytime I remember its existense.

figwasp

Damn, I wish I liked this. I've been on a lavender kick recently and this looked so promising, but it's harsh and kinda terrible on me. I never understood what the boys meant when they said "urinal cake" in their reviews, but one sniff of this and I immediately got it. Not my kind of lavender.

echurch1979

Whew! This one is a little hard to take, and I feel slightly sore about it. I'm a RN, and this smacks of hospital antiseptic meets a vintage healthcare grade benzoin that seems to be unrelenting, even into dry down. I gather a lot of my courage for blind buying from a few, and I feel well educated in the art of perfumery, and they were raving about this scent. I try to be a dutiful Burberry lover, but perfumes such as this astringent smelling concoction better served in the the bottom of a urinal, make it so very hard! Touch by Burberry did this to me too, and I can't retail that one, no matter how cheap I make it, out of my collection. Yes, lavender makes a direct approach. However, it is a medicinal floral note that continues to illustrate how hospital forward it is. Orris and musk are probably my most favorite components here. And although this scent makes me want to wish it into a corn field, when dry down begins, that combination is quite lovely. Coumarin, which I also smell strongly, and Neroli cause me to flinch. The rest of the notes, whether from nature or nurture, seem lost in this fog of anesthesia. And that is where I will leave it, before my upset fugue blurts out any further acidity. The dry down almost makes it worth it...almost.

Mc1995

Supposedly similar to Guerlain Insolence, which I can smell the similarities, the violet-Iris powderey vibe but this is better to me. The orris root, aldehydes and vetiver give more of an earthy vibe that makes this scent a bit more deep

monoousian

Purchased this after seeing it quite cheap because I LOVE Burberry Brit and thought I'd give this a try. The first spray into the air, I thought I was going to regret my decision - for some reason it just smelt absolutely awful to my nose. But the scent does change a lot on your skin. In the opening I definitely sensed the lavender and neroli. Others have described it as a fresh laundry type smell, and I certainly agree with that, it's a very clean scent. On the dry down I notice a lot more of the woody, warm notes that I love so much about Burberry Brit for Her. I feel like this is more of a grower and I'm looking forward to trying it in spring where I think it will really come into its own!

fyetan

Lavender and sweet musk. Pretty, sparkly, floaty lavender. A tiny bit of a rootbeer vibe. Dries down to include a similar bubblegum smell as Kilian Love.

I don't get much pepper from this at all. The florals add a bit of depth but don't come to the forefront.

Itstartedwithtinkerbell

I adore this! It’s fresh, feminine, clean like laundry, and has great performance. I get wafts of scent ALL day . It’s similar to Sylvaine Delacourte Dovana and Trussardi My Name...not enough to be in the “smells like” box, but just similar in powdery clean femininity. The lavender is prominent but it’s all quite sweet to my nose.

MarySor

You won't like this at the first spray.
You will LOVE this when it grows on you, hours later.
This is not a "spritz and go about your day" perfume. Allow it to sit, blend with your skin ph. It's a lavender bomb that quietly goes to sleep on a bed of fresh pile of laundry.
I love this and it makes me calm.

neonaya

Very classic fragrance. But strange detail: when I spray a little bit is sounds like an old boring dusty grandma style perfume. The more I use - the more interesting scent I get. I guess this is because of "lavender effect". I like it floral-fresh tome with a little bit of sweetness, but still it is too classic too safe perfume. Not for me.

paradoxx

After spraying what I thought would be one of my favorites scents from my impression of the scent on paper, I became very overwhelmed with what smelled familiar but not a pleasant body scent. I came here and read reviews and the person who said it smells like a scented garbage bag hit the nail on the head. That’s exactly what it smells like on me. I read on that some other people said it changed after 30 or so minutes so I tried to wait it out, after about 40 minutes I couldn’t take it anymore and had to scrub it off. Sad that it didn’t smell on me what it did on paper, I was looking forward to it.

Seaworthy

Another winner for me from Burberry! Oh! I love this! Clean, floral, lots of lavender (swoon!) crisp, soapy and this is a beast-mode fragrance on me, easily over 7 hours and I can smell it the whole time. Such a beautiful fragrance, total love from me on this one! Something about it reminds me of Lalique Amethyst. Could be the blackberry but it's that crispness they both share. Brit Rhythm is a bit more floral whereas Amethyst is a bit more green. So thrilled with the longevity and sillage on this fragrance, Burberry fragrances are so well made and I enjoy them so very much.

Sept. 1, 2020
Wearing this fragrance today I am getting strong Bronze by Ellen Tracy vibes. Lots of citrus and lemon and the violet in Bronze is changed out for the lavender in Rhythm. Still really liking this one in the heat!

I really disliked this perfume. I bought it, tried it and sold it after a few days without hesitation.
I don't know if it's because there are a few notes that I can't stand or it's the mix that doesn't work. There was something masculine or sour :/ I can't stand the smell at all.

Rozalina

As a lavender lover and Burberry Brit For Her fangirl, trying out Burberry Brit Rhythm seemed like a logical step. Alas, this smells like lavender-scented dryer sheets or a lavender scented hefty bag, but more soapy. Artificial disaster!

frangiris

I smelled the body lotion of it, and it is gorgeous... almost bought it, but then I remember the fiasco of London on my skin. I probably need to try it out a bit more first, might get a mini at some point!

Pearlstar

I had to wear this a few times before I felt I could write about it, because the dimensions of it change each time I wear it. I was worried when I received my bottle because of the polarising reviews. Tested it on paper, seemed promising, then waited a while to try it on my skin before bed - and Oh dear, I smell that wet dog note people talked about. Praying it would evolve away. The next day, I tried it again, and thank God, I couldn't detect that weird note again, and not again in subsequent wears. So I think, people who sense that, give it a few more chances, it may be something to do with the first sprays. But I still find this perfume quite unusual, because there are days it seems to disappear on me even with multiple sprays, some days, one spritz can be smelt after 8 hrs. Today, in warm and humid weather, the sillage feels weak to me. It becomes a skin scent quite quickly. On some days, the lavender and powder is prominent, but today, I'm getting more of the Petalia/peony and orange notes that I couldn't smell before. This is something different from the usual perfumes and a unique smell in my personal small collection. Worth getting if you can find it for cheap like I did. However you need to test it on skin as it smells very different on paper. This is definitely something men can pull off as well. I will probably discover and understand it more as I continue wearing it - I'm still waiting for the revelation that others like some trusted perfume bloggers have had.
Edit: i am beginning to love this fragrance and seek it out. I was eagerly awaiting to wear it again after a shower. Something rather comforting, unique and beautiful about this fragrance that draws me to it.

arapp95

This one took a few tests to get used to. It's a cozy lavender with a hint of freshness. It's the kind of fragrance I love to put on right after the shower to lounge around on the weekend or spritz on before bed. This is definitely unique to my collection. When I initially bought this, I was put off because I was unaccustomed to this type of fragrance but the more I've worn it the more I enjoy it. This isn't necessarily seasonal either, I could get away with this during the day at any time of the year because it just smells clean and warm. I also got a 3.3 oz tester bottle for like $21 so the value at what I paid is incredible. The longevity of this perfume is surprisingly good as well. I put it on before bed last night and could still smell it this morning on my skin (8 hours later) and on my clothes (>10 hours later)

Firstly, this is a straight up lavender grenade. I personally love the smell of lavender but if you’re not a fan, this isn’t going to be for you. The first spray smelled medicinal... like a concoction of rubbing alcohol and baby powder maybe? I literally unboxed this, sprayed my pulse points and exclaimed, “hmmmm”. I was on the fence for about a half hour debating if I liked this at all. I do but initially this had me confounded. It just needs time to come to life. There is something so familiar to me in this composition and yet there were aspects shining through that I wasn’t anticipating.

I really love the longevity of this! I sprayed this after showering and even with no reapplication or layering with lotion/another fragrance, this lingered a full 8 hours on my skin. The dry down is fascinating. People were pretty accurate with their descriptions and reviews. Bubbly, musky, cozy, fresh, and soapy. On my skin, this leans powdery with a slight spicy undertone. I adore Love Chloé. I was hoping this could be an everyday dupe to supplement it. I only break Love Chloé out for special occasions. This isn’t a dupe by a long shot BUT I enjoy this for everyday wear so far. There are two perfumes that I find similarities to Rhythm in that I’ve tried. Lavender Illusion by Viktor&Rolf is close but it’s a denser, woodier lavender. The pine pulls equally as strong as the lavender does in that one but I would say that they are about 80% comparable. Guerlain’s Insolence EDT has a more similar vibe, yes. Is Rhythm a clone? No, thankfully not. At least not in my experience. Insolence turns overly heady and wears like an industrial strength violet syrup on my skin. It wore me, not the other way around. Side note about Insolence: I encountered a woman at my job who was wearing it and I felt like Hannibal Lecter sniffing out Clarice’s phantom L'Air du Temps. I had to risk the awkwardness of asking her because I just had to know. She looked at me so dumbfounded and answered yes. I was almost as shocked as she was since she didn’t fit what I imagine an Insolence wearer to be. She was in her early twenties, tanned, band t-shirt, shorts, and Crocs. It’s just one of those perfumes that imprints on you and for better or worse, you will always know it. Rhythm does have the familiar harsh opening of Insolence but it touches ground in a much more gentle climate. Picture Midsommar minus all of the pesky ritualistic sacrifices. I have been using Dove’s Relaxing lavender oil & chamomile body wash lately and I am reminded of Rhythm each time it suds up.

I don’t get the whole rockstar angle. I cannot see Joan Jett wearing this! I’m sorry. It doesn’t fit that genre a bit. I can however, envision women like Natalie Portman or Taylor Swift wearing this. It also evokes the mental images of soaking in a lavender bubble bath and sliding on your favorite robe that’s been drying on a line underneath the sun. This is very cheap but probably not a safe blind buy purchase. Sadly, this has been discontinued and has been becoming more and more scarce recently. I have made an unexpected dent in my bottle and found this out the hard way trying to find a backup. Grab this while you can. Also, Burberry Brit Rhythm Floral in the pink box can easily be mistaken for Rhythm. Then there’s Sheer. The bottles and boxes look similar but each smell extremely differently so double checking which version is which would be a good idea.

EnergeticCrab

Got a sample of this. On me it is a soft powdery floral with neroli in the beginning, and light musk throughout. I don't get lavender. "Laundry" is an apt term. Clean towels and fabric softener. Not feeling it.

lisajmunro

This is such a spring fragrance for me. It's too much for summer and falls a bit flat in the winter, but it's perfect for in between those seasons.

It's warm, powdery, floral and woody. I always get compliments when I wear this in the spring.

It lasts literally FOREVER, and if you spray it on your clothes, it will take a couple of washes to get it out.

There's something in the base notes that I'm not a huge fan of but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. Also, I think this would be too "old" smelling for younger women/teenagers.

aqua76239

I was not expecting fresh floral but thats exactly what it is. Peony gives it that hint of warm sweetness but otherwise i find it rather fresh and clean smelling, like sniffing a whole bouquet of flowers. Its nice but not my thing

ViouAmara

I didn’t like the way insolence eau de toilette combined the fresh mimosa-violet notes with a guerlinade sweetwarm dry down. I ‘m a Guerlain fan, but not in this case. The Burberry rhythm purple flowers are exactly the fresh crispy ones I got in Insolence EDT, without the amber vanilla.. It’s purple, clean, slightly woody, wet, fresh, green, pretty. It’s rather linear, vegetal in a perfect way.

stacia79

I left a review of this once before but I had a cold and could only smell the orange blossom.

Now I can smell the lavender. Like, there it is plain as day and my nose with a cold just could not register the lavender earlier.

I still smell the orange blossom but it's more powdery now. This wouldn't be something I'd pick for myself because it's just too plain but it's also a very pretty floral musk.

Safira

I like most Burberry fragrances with Brit and Body being my favourites. When this came out, I had to have it, but when I tried it on, I was mostly 'meh' about it - and forgot about it for some years. At some point I started layering my perfumes, and was blown away by combining Brit Rhythm with YSL Manifesto L'Eclat (that I find kind of dull on its own). I realized that Brit Rhythm was gorgeously understated and that I may have tried it out during the wrong season. It comes ALIVE if you use it in spring - and I love it on its own there. It's a gorgeous somewhat powdery lavender, but still fresh.

Thus intrigued I searched for more lavender perfumes, and got Mon Guerlain, which is gorgeous with the warmer notes of vanilla and coumarin. Then came 2019 and YSL Libre was released - and I've been wanting to sample it for ages, but haven't gotten around to it. Meanwhile I'd been stalking reviews of it here on Fragrantica, and while people were comparing it to soooo many different perfumes one reviewer stated that it reminded her of Brit Rhythm and Burberry London. While I have no clue if she's right, I had to try out that combo and lo-and-behold, it's to die for! I like Burberry London, but find it somewhat screechy, but layered with Brit Rhythm, the screechiness is subdued into a wonderful, powdery floral.

To sum it up, Brit Rhythm is great on its own if you wear it during spring - but it's insanely divine when you layer it with other perfumes.

Perfumedsecrets

I watched a video where they described this as diaper cream immediately after spraying, and I thought there's no way... but it's there. Fancy diaper cream that Goop would recommend. Not quite Sudocrem, but thankfully that fades quickly. It then becomes a very casual and relaxed lavender powder. The name doesn't fit it by any means, but I will test it at home. Update: My husband asked me what smells like a baby. That would be me.

bel.gravia

I have wanted Love, Chloe eau de parfum but it is no where to be found for a reasonable price... I adore soft iris powdery perfumes, and Brit Rhythm perfectly well serves as a substitute for my desires.
So.... Burberry Brit Rhythm is a musky floral fragrance. I usually dislike levander but here it's almost like a violet, or heliotrope. On the initial spray this perfume is the most floral, but never fresh, from the start it's powdery, soft and intimate. That's where levander takes stage. As it develops iris kicks in, or should I say, politely, slowly and gracefully dances into the composition. By this stage I am already in love. Levander and iris remain as everything settles onto the bed of musk.

Sweetlady 123

I can definitely smell Insolence from this one. After first sniff I thought something must be wrong here. That's not lavender !
But after few moments it started to be more clear- somewhere below that sweet powdery and violet-like (to my nose) opening lays calming lavender and orange blossom. Unfortunately for me I don't get any aldehydes from it - Yeap I'm this weirdo who actually likes them :)
Drydown is very pleasant musk.
In overall I like it, but it's not on my top list.

EDIT: The more I wear it, the more I love it! And finally lavender is more prominent to my nose now. Worth to mention that it's one of the most complimented perfume I have.

SailorV

I bought this to get free shipping on another order after trying it just once in a store. So many people on the forums recommended me to get this one, and they were absolutely right.

I love clean and fluffy musks, and I love lavender. Brit Rhythm unites both, rounded out by powdery orris, soft fresh florals and woods and the slightest hint of a berry note in the opening. The lavender in this isn't sweet or herbal, but not too soapy either. This fragrance is clean and cool smelling, but also comforting and enveloping, like freshly washed bed linen.
A good daytime scent for work or for when you just feel a little groggy and need something that has a presence but isn't too heavy. Really easy to wear, but with its own character.

zatknis

I really love the spicy lavender of this. It is very strong to me and almost medicinal, but it reminds me of lavender fabric softener sheets and for me that is a very positive association! For some reason, smelling this makes me think of a place that is cold and clean. It makes me cold, yet I like it better for winter or early spring! Not sure how I would feel about it in the summer.

Sherine777

Honestly I was chasing after the Insolence Glacee resemblance (which I haven't smelled before and nowhere to be found for me) and I was intrigued how a Violet can be so similar to a Lavender?

But it most definitely is!

At first spray I immediately recognized My Queen by Alexander McQueen, which is discontinued and I totally love it, having each on one hand you can only tell this is Violet and this is Lavender at first whiff, then they cannot be distinguished! Very strange but true..

lovealwaysalisa

Burberry Brit Rhythm is beautiful. I call this soft, creamy, powdery, and fresh. If the color baby blue had a scent, this would be it. This could have easily been a fragrance from the Philosophy line. It somewhat reminds me of Pure Grace in its soft powdery drydown but not as demure. I really enjoy this. Even though it is what I consider a clean fresh scent...it isnt one that I automatically think to wear in the spring or summer. I actually feel this is the PERFECT type of fresh that wears well in the colder air of fall and winter because of that DREAMY powdery musk. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long lasting.

mevans

I like Brit Rhythm very much. The lavender is not so pronounced as I would have thought being a fairly strong note. It's a little woody, definitely powdery and floral, more musky than spicy but it does not detract from the other notes. It's just a really good blend of some not so common notes. It's kind of sexy which is not something I expect from Burberry. It feels like a cold winter night in front of a warm fireplace.

PhattBass

Brit Rhythm opens with tons of strong lavender, aldehydes, musk, and woods. I don't completely dislike the opening -- it's very unique and different to my nose and there's something there I like, but unfortunately it's almost headache inducing for me which makes it annoying and hard to wear. The drydown is much more pleasant and cozy; softer, warmer, musky and a bit spicy-sweet from the coumarin. I wish I liked it more, but that opening is what keeps me from it.

I also received a sample of this, and I associate this smell with: baby cologne. I'm not sure if baby cologne is really used in the US, but the stuff is imported and I believe ethnic stores are bound to carry it. I think Europeans also associate this light musky floral with babies, as opposed to Americans who associate the Johnson's or Baby Magic powder smell with babies. My Filipino mother doused myself and herself with random brands of baby cologne when I was small, right after bathtime and especially before church. Angel's Breath was a favorite of hers, and my memory is hazy, but Brit Rhythm has a highly similar vibe to the former.

Angel's Breath with a slight depth, and not as citrusy as other baby colognes. It's a pleasant enough smell, hits my nostalgia buttons, also reminds me of cleanliness and fluffy laundry and whatnot. But can get stuffy fairly quickly. It's a bit of a retro-style scent too - in the sense of late '80s/early '90s, no fuss, independent good girl in her 30s. And like a fragrance of then, do not underestimate Brit Rhythm; it can project. Incidentally, I'm now mentally painting a picture of my mom in the '90s. Maybe she'd appreciate this scent.

Anamandy

I received a sample of this with my order. It is a very pretty fragrance but since I'm not a fan of lavender, which is the predominant note to me, I'll take a pass on a future purchase.

livefromtexas

I love love love lavender but most perfumes with lavender have a hefty dose of vanilla, which I don't particularly care for. Not this one. It's pure English lavender - something you'd expect in a tweed store or something. I'm not sure what makes it "rock and roll" except maybe the herbal quality evokes backstage smoke and alcohol and um, other herbs?

This perfume is one of my bedtime perfumes (along with Hanae Mori HM) and is also perfect for rainy Saturdays and walks through the British countryside. lol

Edit: I sprayed this 12 hours ago and it's still going strong. Amazing longevity!

AHeartLikeMine

This is one of those perfumes where I have trouble telling the difference between a clean patchouli and a dirty musk. The first blast of this does indeed smell like bug spray. The drydown is thankfully decent - it might be better in cooler weather. I'll probably pass on it just because I prefer to stay away from most musky fragrances.

Fragaria

This is nothing less than an Alien twin. I find this just as long lasting...twice the sillage if you use more than one spray, and just as room filling! This is a bit more forgiving...it smells laundry-ish so, less complaints from people. It's a really amazing scent. I very much love this. If you don't...oh how I pity you in a room with it! I just felt a need to say this!

herecomesbob

The act of doing laundry has always been something that I take a simple, soothing pleasure in. The sound of the machines, the lingering warmth of clothes pulled from the dryer... So when I say this smells like a powdery lavender dryer sheet, I mean that in the best possible sense. Rhythm evokes nostalgia for me, like getting tucked into bed on a cold night. But the musk and pepper also make it feel lived in - you're cuddled up to someone special as well. Lasting power is great too, I still catch whiffs of it at the end of the day.

SandyMelak

This is such a fantastic cozy fragrance .

regulatory I would give it 7.5 /10 for the fantastic scent and the lasting power

however it's SOOOOO LOW PRICED which would raise it's rating for 8.5/10 just for the price value I can get 4 of it or 1 la vie est belle for example !
that's soooo amazing .

IzzyB

I was hoping I would LOVE this based on the notes and many wonderful reviews. Smelled the nozzle first. Freshly washed poodle. I was thinking lavender was either the really herbal like Yardley or the Johnson's Bedtime line. I didn't get any lavender. So disappointed. I will give it another try but it's the only scent I've ever scrubbed off. The only Burberry I've liked so far is the Baby Touch and I really love that one.

Sailor Pluto

Extremely powdery lavender scent. For those who find powdery fragrances stuffy and stale, this frag will probably not be your thing. I prefer sharp and bright scents, and I a not in love with this. It's not bad enough to give it away, but I wouldn't have bought it had it not been $20 CDN.

Xoloitzcuintli

When this fragrance was launched I remember a rep for the company came in and she was spraying this all over the place, we all ended up getting headaches from it and sadly I didn’t like it either, eventually the fragrance performed very badly in sales that’s the company sent it to the fragrance graveyard :(

beaglebaileysmom

First of all, definitely not like insolence eau glacee. I bought it because of all that hype, and as usual it isn't so. It's hard to even imagine a resemblance. I also see no resemblance to Armani She and Heavenly (which are identical to each other but unrelated to Brit Rhythm to my nose). But it's a decent fragrance in its own right, powdery for sure. My complaint, and I can't believe I'm saying this, is that it lasts too long. As in, 24 hours later, it is almost as strong as when I put it on. That sounds great on paper, but after that many hours I'm needing a break even from a great fragrance. And this is no great fragrance. It is good, even very good. But I'm done after 12-14 hours! Ok then, that fell squarely in "Nothing is going to please me" territory! Because clearly, no other fragrance lasts even remotely long enough. I apologize for not breaking down the scent, but everyone else does that and I can't...or more accurately, I intentionally refrain from doing that because it kind of spoils the magic of a composition for me to think of it as a recipe. So...if you LOVE powder fragrances, and you want SUPER HERO longevity, the bottle I have would really please you. I understand fragrances differ a lot from batch to batch, so I'm definitely not disagreeing with anyone else, just describing my own bottle.

HuneyB

A little too sweet for my taste, but the longevity of this perfume is excellent.

Luli78

Sadly it is an instant headache for me. I like the drydown sometimes but the heavy powder and violet potpourri flowers induce a nauseating headache which came every time but i tried to ignore. Sillage and longevity are great.

perfumeglam87

This smells so good. I think guys would like this also, it's a little unisex. Sweet, Clean, and Fresh. The lavender in this is sharp and fresh almost smells like a tart soap. It's also a little spicy. Something about this reminds of guys body wash, deodorant or soap. But I love it. Perfect for the ladies in between feminine and tomboy.
edit: smells similar to lei armani and vs heavenly

tc1203

Don’t know if the tester bottle was old it smelled like mosquito spray; just too chemicals. I will try again at other store
Updated 14/3/2019 I recently purchased this one. Definitely smells better than the one I tested at other store before. Very aromatic, smoky woody smell and unique to me. Lasts on my skin about 4-5 hrs. Overall I like it!

drawingmaniac35

Best blind purchase ever! On me this starts sharp with the lavender but in 5 minutes it softens with the sweetness of the musk.It honestly reminds me of Mon Guerlian which has been on my wishlist forever but the price was too high for me. This one I found dirt cheap, it lasts, it projects and it is so comforting. One of my favourites.

Update:
I got Mon Guerlain as a swap not long after I bought Burberry Brit Rhythm and I thought I wouldn't want to use the latter any more since I got the one I wanted in the first place. WRONG! After countless swappings with my mother, I finally took this one back for good and gave her the Guerlain instead. Now I am calm :D I can't live without this!

ceilstrakna

Wow. The lavender is up front and refreshing. But after a few minutes, something else emerges - violet, powder, and WHAT? Smells to my 63-year-old nose like something that was already "vintage" and/or "classic" when I first got heavily into fragrance in the late 70s/early 80s. Probably something by Coty (cheap) or Guerlain (expensive), since I didn't wear any Chanel. I need to keep sniffing and reflect on this...more later!

Tifsy

The longevity of this perfume is BONKERS! I sprayed it before going to bed, then had a shower the next day around 6pm & could still smell it after my shower, never known a perfume like it! Someone in the reviews said it lasted 2 hours... try 24 hours!

bst_srtclk

This fragrance has a vintage vibe. It definitely reminds me of 50s, I don't know why. Because of lavender, it has a soothing scent. The adjective that I would use for this one is CALM. And, I totally agree with the comments that say you either love this perfume or hate it. At first, I hated this too, but when I finished it I realized that it gives me a certain type of happiness when I wear it. But the thing is, I think you need to be in the mood that this perfume requires in order to like it. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again, but I wouldn't mind wearing it once in a while.

louiee

What an absolutely beautiful flanker !
I dont really Care for The original... think its too harsh in an headache inducing way.
But this one... my oh my.
Reminds me a lot of insolence from Guerlain which is an all time favorite.
Its hard not to like... even If you dont like lavender.
Soft, classical and very feminine.
Elegant and wellblended.
Soft, clean and fluffya s a cloud.
Longevity and silage are bort amazing on me.
Love this one.

nellyrlight

I absolutely adore this perfume. It has an incredible staying power..Even the body lotion stays forever in my skin. I don't mind powdery..I love powdery!

rola.asad

Hello Violets!!
Lavender, green, aromatic, musky scent!
you can't say here: "I don't mind to wear this fragrance!"
you either love this fragrance and really don't mind to smell the scent around you, or you really can't stand the scent at all!!
when a friend of mine gave me this fragrance "cause she doesn't like it", I immediately tried it and I was surprised cause I've never experienced any violet flowers, and it was a new area to play with, so I kept it away, and should be in a specific mood to retry it again, why?
cause it is not the easiest perfume to go along with, it is sooo loud and people in the next room would smell it, and for sensitive noses this would be too much to bear!!
this perfume kept me away from trying other violet-based fragrances like Insolence from guerlain, BUT!!!!
as I tried again and again, I find out that what annoys me really here is the Orris and the Aldehydes that make the fragrance edgy, airy, sparkle and super artificially musky and green!
for someone who likes vintage-y aldehydes and violet fragrances, you would never find a better option! unless that stay away for your own good!
sillage: BOOM BOOM BOOM
Longevity: V. good.

florally

First, because I don't want the next line to bias anyone reading this review: I adore this fragrance.

But the very first spray of this was public bathroom. :| I spent a few seconds involuntarily recalling the various school bathrooms, work bathrooms, etc of my past. Terrible!

A few days later I tried again, and I'm so glad I did! Perhaps it was just old liquid in the tube, or my chemistry that day. Whatever the case, this has become my ultimate clean linen style fragrance. Not the aquatic/green/ozonic version of 'clean', but the sun-bleached, wind-softened, lavender-scented, fresh out of the airing cupboard 'clean'. So deliciously cosy and soft and safe. The scent of the concept of 'home'.

I can't quite see how Burberry connects the adrenaline of live music performance to this, but whatever. ;) Also, this is nothing like Insolence to me -- Insolence is instant nausea for me.

pamelalasalle110

Tricky describing this one. I have an almost love hate relationship with this fragrance. i guess im new to the aldehydes element that seems to weirdly draw people in. It starts pretty harsh and dries down (rather quickly) to a lively bouquet of floral notes and wonderful musky, woody symphony reminiscent of a beautiful spring garden at dusk. My suggestion is trying a small sample. I get 50/50 positive/negative comments on this one. Like I said you'll either love it or hate it.

jessicacarmody23

I bought this yesterday after trying many perfumes, this one was something I couldn't resist. It smells tiny bit masculine lol, fresh and nice though. It reminds me of what I smell in Daisy dream by Marc Jacobs, what I call a cottony smell, its probably an actual note. It mixes well with me, my skin smells nice from this. It also lasts a long time. Many hours, and on me it doesnt go yucky it stays strong and clean. Dont get any wet dog smell others mentioned. And sillage is moderate

SaraX

I have never washed a dog in my life, so cannot comment whether this scent is similar to a _washed_ dog smell (referring to the review by 77Heather below), but indeed I can smell something similar to a dog that's ran around the garden in flowers, grass and mud and is now all wet from the pouring rain.

However, I tried to get past the first impression and wore this for a few hours. I still don't find this very appealing though, unfortunately. For me there seems to be far too much going on in this scent. There are flowers, berries, spices, powderiness, woody notes, masculine/unisex vibes and I don't even know what else.
For me and on my skin this just isn't and doesn't become a well balanced scent. The scent is going everywhere and still it ends up going nowhere.

Finally, I love Insolence Eau Glacee by Guerlain (one of the reasons why I was so eager to test this one) and having compared these two side by side I have to conclude that in my opinion there is no similarity whatsoever (there may be some similar notes, but the scents as a whole: no, they are not similar).
- So please don't just go ahead and blind buy this thinking this is a close copy of Eau Glacee, test first instead.

Valentineee

J’adore

anapana83

This is one of those perfumes that I detested when I first sprayed it. Then 10 minutes later, I'm in heaven! It has a very strong, almost offensive, quality at first, but then the longer I let it sit on my skin, the better it melds in with my chemistry. The flowery notes start to "pop" with the woody/musky notes, and the softer, sweeter elements become stronger.

Originally I tried it via samples I got off of eBay. Then I bought the full size. I'm typically a lover of warm balsamic or gentle flowery scents, but this one I make an exception for because it's so wonderfully woody and complex, but still extremely feminine. I definitely sense the lavender, which gives it a mild incense quality, but that combined with the neroli, musk, blackberry leaf, and other musky elements really make this a unique fragrance in my collection.

For me, it has moderate sillage and very impressive long-lasting longevity. It will take a shower to get the smell of it off me (which is a good thing). This one is much better than the floral version, in my opinion, and is especially great at night and in cold weather. It's a very compelling scent that I would recommend at least getting samples of. I don't have anything else quite like it.

77Heather

I really dislike this fragrance. I thought I'd like it based on notes and bought it blind. The first blast was all wet dog smell, like realistic wet dog. I still gave it a chance though and gave it a full wearing the next 2 days. It irritated me all day and I never got over smelling wet dog. I feel like you can only love this if you've never washed a dog lol :)

Jsilvaday

Just tried this fragrance. Love the lavander and wood combination. Fresh, cosy, comfortable. All year around, day or night fragrance. Easy to wear.

saguna

I just opened it and initially I liked it. Then...damn, I have smelled it before. What was it, male Joop? No... Yes, got it, this is like a slightly softer version of Bvlgari Black. So annoying! It does have the underlay of aldehydes and you could tell its Bvlgari Black mixed with No 5.
Yes, we got it. Now, onto another one. I don't need clones.

ReneeW1

This is the first Burberry fragrance that I didn't find immediately repulsive. This fragrance is intensly fresh. The lavander is prominent as is the musk and there is a wonderful powder enveloping all of it. There is also a very very intense green note that I can't exactly place and I think it may be a bit much for me.

There is something reminiscent of laundry detergent, dry sheets, and/or soap. This is a little bit pleasant but is a little strong.

From 10 to 12 inches or more I find the fragance to be very nice. Nose to skin it could easily cause a headache. I am still undecided but at least I enjoyed it more than the rest of Burberry's fragrances.

Edit: Well I am now decided. And unfortunately this moved into the category of all the other Burberry scents. I just don't enjoy it, it is too much. Oh well.

dahrling

Wow, this is incredible. It's BEAUTIFUL. Today, it's really hot outside where I am (over 30°C/ 86°F) and the only way that I can think to describe this is angelic. It really does smell... heavenly. Clean, innocent and feminine, somehow it manages be both "cooling" and "warm", it's a scent that brings people closer to you because it pulls them in. It's definitely reminiscent of Insolence - I have one on each wrist and while they are not identical whatsoever, they do smell like they were cut from the same cloth. I love them both dearly, they both remind me of my childhood.

P.S: I don't think I get any real lavender on my skin - this fragrance is very sweet on me and I get a lot of orris/violet and a clean, soapy white musk. I get nothing green or herbal on me, but that might be skin chemistry.

This smells like a wet dog that has been washed in carpet shampoo.

If you love lavender, laundry dryer sheets and huge powdery fragrances this is the scent for you. This is a powder beast! With a retro vibe, Brit Rhythm is definitely not your typical modern floral fume.

Petals_and_Perfumes

Immediately when I sprayed Burberry Brit Rhythm on my skin I experienced a sharp pain in the middle of my forehead which has now morphed into a full-blown headache. This takes me to the frag my middle-aged nanny wore when I was a child: wilted flowers in a vase of stagnant water. Add a lavender-scented powderpuff from an old can on grammy’s vanity and you’ve got Burberry Brit Rhythm. Please excuse me now while I do a 5 minute scrub to wash this geriatric juice off my skin.

Biz2002

Classy, fresh but definitely not boring with great longevity. Just amazing!

ladyjm89

VERY strong aldehydes! They should have just named this perfume Burberry Ozone! I almost can’t deal with the opening, and that seems to be a recurring experience with Burberry frags. They just...ugh. They annoy me. They halfway smell decent but there’s always got to be a note in there that just keeps them from greatness! This would be one. Once the drydown starts, I get a mildly spicy clean laundry effect from it. And that’s about as far as it develops. Not a keeper for me. If you like these types of scents though, the longevity is better than average.

Scent: 6/10

This is super pretty and girlie if it was a color it would be quartz crystal. I don't get a lot of pepper but I get peony, orris, adelhydes and the lavender is so pleasant not acerbic or too clean as it can be in some perfumes. To me the pepper and coumarin are very subtle and it's more on the pretty sure than spicy. I also smell a green tea accord after the dry down. It's like if Lovely and Chloe Nomade had a middle sister who is the coquette of the family. Definitely love. Light sillage but decent longevity i don't wear a lot of very strong scents except in winter. I prefer this to Lovely as it doesn't have sharp lavender..
I got this in a sample but I will purchase in the future.

I received this perfume today, I've been wearing it for the last 6 hours, and I can still smell it. The first spritz of it has a very fresh, clean, almost soap-like scent. At first, all I could smell was lavender with powdery notes. But the drydown of Burberry Brit Rhythm is more of a herbal, (I would say), sourish scent. But it never gets too heavy, after six hours I can say that I'm still smelling fresh.
If you're not a fan of herbal notes (like me), you probably shouldn't purchase this one at all. For me, it's a "not for me, wouldn't buy again."

It's funny how memories can affect how you feel about a certain perfume. A perfume can smell wonderful but if worn during a traumatic event, it can evoke the opposite emotion you want to experience from wearing it. I find Rhythm to be quite similar to CK Obsessed and actually preferred Obsessed for it's realistic herbal lavender note, but I can't wear it anymore as I have bad memories associated with the scent. However, months ago I wore Rhythm during a wonderful vacation weekend and have happy memories associated with it, so now it is my preferred lavender-musk fragrance.

Rhythm brings to mind clothing fresh from the dryer, its musk is warm and fluffy and the lavender is sweet and floral. A comforting, safe scent with fantastic projection. I've noticed EDTs perform very well compared to EDPs, I suppose because there is a higher concentration of alcohol. EDPs tend to be longer lasting but I find that certain EDTs do last quite awhile and Rhythm is one of them. It will last all day. A cheap fragrance that doesn't smell cheap and you certainly get your money's worth and then some with this one! This will always be in my collection and it is an invaluable addition to any perfumista's wardrobe for days when you just want to smell clean and fresh.

Timby

I received a sample of this, wore it a few times, and it's not for me.Not that it is a bad fragrance, its just that I don't identify myself with this scent.

I can see this as unisex, masculine. I do get a lot of woodiness here. I wouldn't mind this on my husband.

Try before you buy.

Stellablue

I won't knock it for those who adore it, it is simply not for me. I thought I would enjoy it much more given the lavender, but it just doesn't seem to show up for my chemistry. It ends up very strong and powdery, and not in an attractive way. I love the bottle design, and I have one full if any of the adorers would like to swap.

richmilton

My wife got this as a 10ml sample with a purchase of another fragrance. Neither of us like it. We both get a woman's hair spray vibe. Sorry, but this is a big no for us. Nothing sensual or interesting about it like so many other perfumes she wears that makes me want to get close to her such as the super classy and beautifully feminine Tresor, and the sexiest perfume of all time for feminine ladies... Miss Dior.

And to the reviewer that says Burberry Brit Rhythm is Unisex. Are you serious? You got to be joking? This is so obviously a woman's perfume, smells like a lot of female cosmetics, particularly hair spray. Sorry Burberry. I'll always love Burberry London (both male and female releases), but this Brit Rhythm just doesn't jive to any beat for us.

Bubbles1964

Got a sample of this today and it's annoying, just a weird mix of notes and I agree with another reviewer, no direction. Both thumbs down. I can't get it off fast enough.

Penelope’sperfume

I received this today, and I love. I find it very similar to Ombré Rose by Jean Charles Brosseau. It is powdery and feminine and soft and I am in perfume heaven. Perfect for day wear and office appropriate. Some would maybe consider a bit granny but I love the softer powdery smells. I feel like the lavender gives it a comforting, soft, cosy touch. I will be buying the 90ml bottle soon!!!

Chrysolaga

It's weird, but I liked it when I tried it for the first time, but today when I applied it, all I can smell is Johnson & Johnson baby powder. Not sure how that happened, but the powder smell is an immediate turn off for me. I usually love lavender fragrances, but I am not perceiving any authentic lavender here.
Maybe temperature plays a role in how this fragrance is perceived. I will try it again in cooler weather and with a cooler skin temperature to see if it changes anything.

sandifitzg

I love this fragrance today...musky lavender...lovely. It also has a good sillage and creates a delicate veil of yumminess around you. I love it when fragrances are not just skin scents. When i reviewed it before i wasn't able to appreciate it for some reason. Today I love it.

meow78

I got a sample of this when I tried Insolence Eau Glacée (which I did not care for, though I love violets). I normally find lavender too soapy, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It’s soft and a little sweet without being powdery or gourmand. Maybe nice when you want something simple and quiet - it stayed close to my skin. I tried this on a rainy spring day (perfect Burberry weather).

ghaidaalzanbaqi

I really regret buying it, even though I smelled it at the mall and I really liked it, but when I spray it I literally could throw up because what it smells like disgusts me. I can not even say that it is an acceptable scent, it's truly awful in my opinion, when I made my family smell it I thought maybe at least one of them could like it or even accept it so that I could give it to whome like it, but unfortunately everyone said that it was not the best perfume at all which it disappointed me.

thingsnaominose

I'm fairly certain this fragrance is much stronger than my nose perceives it. It is more citrus than floral, laundry fresh and not cloying for me. The dry down brings a wonderful cedar-like woodsiness, which is my favorite part of it. The thing is, I'm nose blind to it after a couple hours, and then I'm tempted to keep spraying it, and I have no idea if I'm choking people, since it's such a light scent to my nose. I know it has a backbone, though, because I will go to smell my clothes days, even a week later and the woodsy citrus is still there- in fact, I smell it more strongly than when I first wore it.
I like this for work, or casual occasions, and it suits spring weather. I had a sample first, that I got in winter, and I thought it unremarkable until I tried it again in warmer weather.

noranelmadawy996

This smells like nothing. It's heavy without being rich and has a weird blend of notes that make it more annoying than bright. Borderline masculine too and not even in a good way. Smelled it a couple of times and I don't even remember the scent, it's just not good and irritating in a way. HARD. PASS.

CherriedEmpress

I got a sample spray of Burberry Brit for Her. This stuff is a disaster. The scent choked me with obnoxious lavender and powder. Those two notes, I usually do love, but in this fragrance... Major headache, couldn't breathe. Yep, it's laundry detergent... gone wrong. I'd rather slather myself in real laundry detergent than asphyxiate myself with this scent ever again.

I can't believe all the positive reviews for this one. I honestly can't imagine this working with anyone's chemistry. If I smelled this scent on someone, I'd run the opposite direction. I hope I never have to experience that. It would be even more of a nightmare in hot weather.

I had to check this spray to see if it was the Floral version, but it wasn't. The Floral version has a ton of negative reviews.

This stuff stayed on my jacket for a day or two, and each time I put it on, I regretted spraying. I had to wash it.

I apologize if anyone loves this stuff enough to be offended by my words, but I'm just giving my honest perspective. :(

I bought the 30ml bottle on sale, thinking it was the same one I smelt from a tester from another store. Now not so sure as this one has a more heavy floral scent with soapy woody and musky notes, where as the tester was lighter and fresher floral scent. Anyway, the composition of the floral notes in Brit Rhythm on me somewhat gives off a sharp spicy scent on the initial spray and then settles down to peony and lavender notes in the dry down. The woody musk notes linger on me longer down to a skin scent. Definitely a fragrance I would wear for a special event during the spring/summer months and maybe early autumn season too.

Update: The tester I sprayed was Burberry Brit Sheer!!

brendacarmen

i purchased this on a blind buy on discount at my local drug store.... reviews i had read stated that this was a fresh clean spring scent.. i will absolutely agree. so far its been on my skin for almost 45 minutes... the lavender isn't very strong, but it does linger . its lovely.. i can smell the woodsy notes for sure but still very light and not over powering. to me this is a day scent. (wear it on a lunch date) very work appropriate, definitely for spring and summer. it reminds of me of fresh linen being hung to dry on a crisp spring day.. not sure if I would re-purchase ... but maybe. i know I will enjoy wearing it this spring..

yuliannart

I have a friend who wears it. It is stunning on her. I generally don’t like burberry, so I was surprised how much I liked the smell. What I find interesting is when I put my nose close to her, it smells like a completely different perfume: fresh, a bit sharp, green and the burberry that I don’t like. But when I am a couple feet away from her, I feel like I am in a field of powdery lavendar, just beautiful! Go figure! Also, it somehow reminds me of Tresor, which I love.

beaglebaileysmom

Brit Rhythm on one wrist and Insolence eau glacee on the other. Not as similar as I'd thought before the wrist-to-wrist comparison. Brit Rhythm is heavy powder, whereas Insolence eau glacee is much more violet and evokes Springtime. The Insolence eau glacee also has much bigger sillage. I was hoping Rhythm would do, but now that I've sampled both I will never be satisfied with Rhythm.

sopke

This one truly has same dna with Guerlain Insolence and something common with Mon Guerlain. It is a really special gem from Burberry. Never had big plans to try Brit flanker's, but once did, happened to be Brit Rythm and after purchasing 100ml right away had only one though - why waited that long????? Refreshing after winter heavy aouds, clean, musky juice. Love at first sniff.

vintage_scent

Mmmm...I adore this! Powdery lavender heaven...the lavender, orris and musk are exquisite! Just what I have been craving and so utterly beautiful. Fresh, feminine, breezy. I think it is the most beautiful powdery lavender dream ever...

I have to admit I wanted Mon Guerlain to smell more like this. Smells much more expensive than it is a true gem

paolaxlola

Bought this flanker after seeing it being brought up in soapy/laundry-type scent recommendation topics multiple times. The reviews were promising, alas this turned out to be a complete miss. I wouldn't ever describe this fragrance as light, clean or laundry-like, it's heavy, sharp powdery, somehow loud & offensive to my nose. A big disappointment. Definitely test before buying.

NoelleNice

After several recommendations and then sampling I had to own it!

Rhythm is for me a soft, dancing, lavender musk. There is a slight smell not unlike spray starch used on crisp white hotel sheets until it dries down, but it’s not offensive and it soon dissipates. Overall there is something decidedly feminine and delicious about this fragrance. It is quite “perfumey” (for lack of a better description) on my skin, which I wasn’t expecting. I don’t need to apply much to still smell it easily eight hours later. I enjoy the subtle lavender which is very calming and clean. This is fast becoming a favourite for me, and I find myself wanting to wear it a lot. My Husband and kids love it too - so that’s a plus. Interestingly when I wear this, my Daughter says I smell like a lolly (candy), which I personally don’t notice.

Faaezaam

My lovely spring perfume :) this is spring in a bottle

redskyatnight

Burberry Brit Rhythm smells like laundry detergent, and I mean that in the best way possible! Specifically, it reminds me of Gain Lavender powder detergent - the lavender is sweet, not pungent. As such, it is a wear-anywhere non-perfume perfume, especially for daytime and the office.

gorincioii

This is gorgeous!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!

Perfumeaddict777

This is spring in a bottle to me! I've adored it for many years and buy a bottle right before spring. It makes me think of a warm sunny day with grass wet with dew. I'm hanging sheets outside on the line to dry And there is a slight breeze that shakes the sheets . I can smell the spring air, wild flowers and the lavander bushes that grow in my yard mixing with the smell of clean sheets. Its comforting, uplifting, stress reducing and beautiful. It's not a sexy scent but it's a comfort scent;) it also lasts forever on clothes and skin. I can smell powdery sweet violet and waxy iris root as well. Sillage is massive. So be careful not to spray too much of this especially when it's hot outside because you will suffocate lol. Its cheap in price but wonderful quality ingrediants. If you like sweet, powdery, clean, musk scents them chances are you will love this.

Mbrock

This is ok. It mostly spicey, fresh and floral. But I cant tell what floral. Just generic. A lot of perfumes you know when you smell its rose, hyacinth, whatever but this its just a floral. Sillage and longevity are good. There is nothing wrong with this scent, its just not for me. I think it would be pretty on someone else.

schattenreiter

Too powdery for my taste, but not bad.
Same as Burberry - London, first sniff was disappointing, but as it dried down, it stuck on my skin for hours and I got to like it.
