B. Balenciaga Intense by Balenciaga is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for women. B. Balenciaga Intense was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Domitille Michalon Bertier. Top notes are Blueberry, Green Tea and Soybean; middle note is Night blooming Cereus; base notes are Cedar and Mahogany.

The B. Balenciaga perfume line was established when designer Alexander Wang became the creative director of fashion house Balenciaga. The first B. Balenciaga fragrance was introduced in October 2014 as a sharp, green and aromatic fragrance with floral and woody tones. B. Balenciaga Skin, its smoother and gentler interpretation, was launched in April 2015. B. Balenciaga Intense comes out in fall 2016.

B. Balenciaga Intense is an intense and cool woody fragrance with refreshing fruity accents. Notes of green tea and blueberries at the opening are accompanied by the floral heart of queen of the night and the woody base of cedar.

It is available in a dark pink bottle with black details of the original shape as a 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

Such a beautiful light floral, fresh, simple and elegant. So mysterious that it seems to be from another planet. Now I want to find this Cereus in nature. It must be something unique. I do not know why it's called " Intense", because it is so soft and delicate.
The quality is at the level. I found a sample from 3 years ago. It did not deteriorate even a tiny bit. Still smells amazing. Now I managed to find a full bottle on vinted and this will be my summer scent in 2023.
If you have vinted in Europe I can decant.

This is such a pretty, feminine fragrance. I get all blueberries and green tea with a hint of cedar for the first hour or so. Then I get pretty, dainty flowers. The woodsy note is present throughout the entire journey.

I feel this fragrance is soft and feminine yet fresh and green. It is light with almost intimate sillage but has great longevity. It's definitely very different from my usual loves (Mugler, TF) but it's beautiful and I enjoy wearing it when I want something fresh and pretty -yet grown up- that isn't going to give anyone a headache.

Does anyone else smell.. celery? I wanted to love it, but the sharp celery note is not appealing. Balenciaga Paris is much nicer.

Madyana

Definitely fresh blueberries and woods!
I haven’t been looking for any tea scents and now I realized why? This just is such a great mix that I can’t find any better!
This is sweet, but so balanced that at no point doesn't become overwhelming. Although the scent is very strong and intense, it still reflects only the length of the arm, so (if sprayed moderately) this doesn't fill the entire room but still lasts all day on my skin. The performance of this could be compared to Florabotanica, this just isn’t that sharp. So this is a great choice for the work too.I don’t think this is a sexy scent, but very pleasant. Perhaps the best thing about this is that despite the strong tea note, this doesn’t turn bitter on my skin at all! Actually, this is heavenly. Another 10/10 from Balenciaga for me.

How can some people NOT smell the blueberries? To me they are strong and realistic, which is very rare. Otherwise very woodsy and sweet in a vegetal way because of the edamame. Very different and so lovely.

Birthday gift ❤ at first it's pretty close to B. eau de parfum, then it becomes woodier and sombre and so far from the concoctions that are in vogue right now. Also, I'm intrigued by the edamame note, which turns out to be so unique. Berries are there and so is green tea, but I guess that the dark woodsy notes play the main role in the composition. When this perfume settles down, it has just the right sillage that makes me feel comfortable and noticed without being obtrusive. I love it!

The Short:I dislike this scent. Try a sample first.

The Long:Sadly, this does not work for me. I may have a bad bottle. This is is just off putting. There is not a hint of floral, green tea or blueberry. This is a high pitched shoe tree cedar bomb to my nose. Disappointed. It is a beautiful bottle and I had high hopes for it based on the notes and reviews.

Not wearable for me. Try a sample first if you can; I wish I had.

This one unfortunately did not work out for me.
On the top there is a burst of berries (to me artificial smelling) very sweet, but quickly overtaken by tea. This tea is a cold chamomile tea with some bay leaf which mixes in the cedarwood about 10 minutes in. This cedar / chamomile / bay leaf mix with tartness and sweetness dominates the fragrance from then on.
Herbaceous, cold, woody.

Unfortunately this one goes sour on me...

Blueberries on steroids with amazing woody background. I also detect fig leaf for some reason, very prominently. Love it. On a quest to buy a bottle.

P.S. I don't know wether you are able to recall how Hubba Bubba chewing gum tasted and smelled but to me B. Intense smells exactly the same, just with that amazing woody-fig base.

Starts with unisex vibes. It is spicy, woody and fresh green without being bitter and sharp. Warm yet crisp and really nice even for me- a fruity/gourmand/generic celeb-fragrance lover.
The drydown gets sweet (Not sugary) dry-spicy and is simply lovely

gaz525

I get no blueberries from this, however I absolutely love it.So green yet substantial and lasts a good while too.The greenness reminds me of the green notes used in Marc Jacobs Decadence edp except this doesn't have the thick vanilla/wood base that Decadence has.Really impressed

DD Perfume Fanatic

I absolutely love this. Rich Blueberries with green and woody notes. It's well balanced between sweet and masculine. Reminds me of Fahrenheit by Christian Dior. All in a architectural design bottle. It's aimed at women but I can easily say it's an unisex 🚻fragrance. I will be ordering a back up bottle or few! 😁 B.eautifully done Balenciaga.

Came across this buried under lesser offerings and marked down from $40 to $6??? ( Pinch me ye perfumed gods).Yes that's right $6 for an ounce so for less than my morning Starbucks I can take you home? Come to Daddy..The bottle is a heavy angular beauty all architecture and geometry..beautiful and structured. The sprayer applies in a heavy burst, I hit it 2x from about 6" away from my arm.A sharp fresh, green tea note opens that melds with a very REAL blueberry fruit note ... In the opening it reminded me of my old favorite Gucci por Homme II ( full disclosure :I love a tea note especially one married to citruses)While cedar waits in the background, coming forward with a light floralcy in the drydown.I like it like that...a la Cardi B.I like those Balenciaga's the one that look like socks, and I like Intense as well, especially( when found for a steal:).Will test drive her

Wow! What a refreshing scent. I'm reading the notes and wondering if fragrantica left any out because this is so rich and well composed there has to be more going on than what is listed. It is cool, yet warm, a little bracing, yet not like the original B which I found too cutting and sharp. I think the soy has done a lot to prevent that sharpness. The cereus is so pretty here and really gives this scent a feminine edge, though because of the light cedar note I think a guy could pull it off too. I use a lot of tea fragrances and really think this is rated at the top for me. There is nothing that smells synthetic to me either. The blueberries, always present though light, smells just as if you picked a blueberry off a bush and pinched it between your fingers. So fresh, clean, and natural. The cedar is so well blended it doesn't directly hit you in the face. It is more like an underlying hint that wafts in and out of the scent. It does a lot to ground this fragrance and give it depth. The green notes further balance the scent, making it appropriate to wear anytime of the year, which is not what I found with other tea scents. The silage is really good and the longevity amazing. It seems to get stronger, and as others have noted, sweeter the longer I wear it (though not candy like) - and I only had a tester to use! Not for much longer. It is already a love and full bottle worthy.

Cold winter berries with a little green. Is that the blueberries? Almost like a mulberry. Not as green as I expected. The wood finish is a light wood that also has a freshness that prevents the scent from being overly masculine. Just a pinch more of some floral and it would be perfect. One of a few blind buys I will keep. The bottle is worth the $35 I paid. It's different and that's what I look for. Think I'm going to end up loving it.

Perfumeaddict777

I love Wearing green scents in the cold. It feels crisp, fresh , icy and alive in the cold air. Everything seems dead and cold but there poking out of that snow there are living plants, flowers and green trees.
This perfume gives me that feeling! I get very little blueberry but its just enough to add some tart and sweet to the green tea. The green tea is fresh and very fragrant. It's soothing. It opens with something peppery among green tea and fig. I smell fig even though it's not listed in the notes. I smell cedar wood chilled by the cold air that I smell in the perfume. It's a mix of fig, tea, cold air, frozen Berry and cedar. I think it's amazing. It gets sweeter as it develops. Its very long lasting even on skin and has arms length sillage. It's a love.

shushkin

Really lovely. I agree about the tea and juicy blueberry note being very up front. The floral Queen of the Night is present all along the timeline and keeps it feminine. QOFN has a sort of bubblegum sweetness. This scent is also aromatic and a touch sharp but it's perfect for wearing on a summer day. I knew there was something a bit different about this scent. A teeny touch of savoury. It's soya bean that Fragrantica have not listed. The dry tea note really works well with soyabean in preventing the fruit and floral notes becoming too sweet and obvious.
It smells almost niche. Well done Balenciaga for creating such a classy scent. It punches above its weight
Good longevity and sillage.

sail0rmars

Cute and balanced perfume, much better than other perfumes with similar notes. I would swear I smelled rose in this, but it's not listed. It's so smooth and beautiful, for sure a value for money.

glitterlust

It keeps in line with B. but offers up a sweeter fruitier interpretation probably to appease all those who found B. too woody or Light Blue like. For me it doesn't gab your attentions like B. does with it's odd green, pretty petals and woods. The blueberry is very well done and does smell very fresh and real.

Jillzilla

The tea note in this smells cold-spicy/peppery on me, and I do not detect any blueberry, so I mainly get a spicy (and slightly sharp) green woody fragrance that smells masculine on my skin. The floral notes are very, very subtle on me.

ashypie2004

I knew I was taking a risk with the cedar in this one. Sometimes it works on me, sometimes it goes terribly wrong. But I am so in love with the original Balenciaga B that I took a chance blind-buying this one. I was right to have been suspicious. A nose to skin spray test is not good...nearly pure, hair-singeing cedar! Thankfully I don't smell it much in the sillage. The projection smells just like the original B, I don't get any blueberry in here. Pity. Overall a slight disappointment, but I will use it. I should have just stuck with the original. Maybe if I try it on clothes instead of skin? Yeah, that's better.

edit: I've since learned that it is most likely the molecule Iso E super that smells like bile to my nose.

miscetera

I can't remember the last time I was so utterly blown away by a fragrance. The opening of blueberry and green tea is luscious and enchanting, soon evolving into more sultry wood laced with just a hint of something floral. Appropriate for any season, day or evening, formal or casual. I fear the bottle will be gone too quickly. It's that good.

genny17

A friend sent me a sample, and I must say that I like this! It has a herbal vibe, it is definitely green , but in a fresh way, almost with softness, it has also a floral heart, nicely done, and a hint of cedar, but to me B intense isn't really woodsy..now the blueberry tone is soft, like I think it is very well blended..now not sure why it is called intense..still, it is very nice, very charming, and like most Balenciaga, with a touch of class..definitely buying a bottle..longevity is fine...this is a lovely creation, different from what is out there.

Arlene-Beatrix

Intense B. is absolutely charming! Relaxing green tea, soft blueberry, a bit of floral notes and gentle woody base. It's 100% ladylike and suitable for almost every kind of weather.

angelscry85

I received a few samples of this today and all I have to say is that I AM IN LOVE. The new B. Balenciaga Intense by Balenciaga. Compared to the original B. this Intense version has a fruity opening that reminds me of MontBlanc's Legend Intense without the pineapple, the original has a floral opening. As it starts to dry you smells VERY INTENSE wood and it is super masculine for a feminine fragrance. Once it is dry you still have a faint trace of the fruit along with the very strong wood and the mixture is absolutely fabulous (mind you, I rarely say that word LOL). I think I would recommend this for both men and women although it is a woman's fragrance. This has to be the SEXIEST fragrance I have ever smelled. I do plan on adding this to my collection.

UPDATE (10.31.16): B. Balenciaga Intense is a Boutique exclusive for right now according to Balenciaga customer service. I will be online on their site within the next few weeks according to them. I just ordered a 50ml bottle from the Las Vegas store and it's been shipped to me. I can't wait to get it.

UPDATE (11.02.16): I just received a 50ml bottom I phone ordered from the Balenciaga store in Las Vegas (they do free ground shipping) :-D. It is such a gorgeous scent. I am obsessed.

angelscry85

I have the original B. and I am obsessed with it. I am so curious about this, when does it come out? I have been to several stores (Saks, Neimans, Sephora...) and none have heard about this yet. Does it have a release date?

ZBear

Found this at Saks in NY, and was told that it was limited edition (not sure of the veracity of that statement), so my decision to buy was a bit swayed.

I'm not sure why this is called "Intense," as I find it less clashy than the original B. The problem that I had with original is that the edamame note combined with the floral made the finish too sharp on my skin.

But anyway, this review is for Intense. The opening is very fresh - the green tea and the blueberry are quite complementary. When they say "blueberry" - don't think of cooked blueberry or blueberry pie. Rather, think of picking fresh blueberries right off of the bush - that is the note here. Consider Jo Malone's Blackberry & Bay, and that fresh, authentic berry (except obviously with a blueberry and not blackberry.)

The drydown is a sweet floral with an underpinning of cedar. The cedar here is very clean - not at all like YSL's Elle from the days of yore, which had a distinct hamster cage note. The floral is a bit non-descript, in the sense that I can't pick out a certain note, and the sweetness is not at all cloying or nauseating.

Overall, I would say Intense could be a good signature scent, or an every day, work appropriate fragrance. It is simple whIle complex, and comes across as minimalist, yet not stand-offish or plain.

Sillage is decent - about arm's length. Lasting power is great - for me, it lasted the entire workday.

The bottle is pretty - looks like original B except in a cranberry colored glass. I am going to enjoy having this in my rotation for the fall /winter, and may revisit B.Skin as well.

Perfumeaddict777

Did this come out yet? I want to test this! I love blueberry and it's not found in perfume very often. Im curious if the blueberry note is strong or not. Anyone?
