CK2 by Calvin Klein is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for women and men. CK2 was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Pascal Gaurin. Top notes are Wasabi, Violet Leaf, Mandarin Orange and Pear; middle notes are Pebbles, Hedione, Orris Root, Peony and Rose; base notes are Vetiver, White Musk, Incense and Sandalwood.

Calvin Klein made a hit with its unisex fragrance CK One from 1994, which marked the urban youth of the nineties. It was followed by less popular unisex edition CK Be in 1996. In 2016, Calvin Klein returns to its tradition and presents a new scent that is gender free called CK2, intended for the generation known as the Millennials.

Announced as an urban woody - fresh scent, CK2 begins with unsual combination if wasabi, mandarin and violet leaf. Wet cobblestones and concrete accords are mixed with orris root and rose absolute and placed on the woody base of vetiver, sandalwood and incense.

The bottle, a cylinder of thick glass set on a clear base that allows the fragrance to be viewed either upside down or right side up, is marked by minimalist design. The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

I can see it appealing to younger audiences. I pick up on the wasabi, pear and citrus. No pebble but a friend likened what they could smell as ' wet concrete"
Drydown is similar to the little cleaning wraps you used to get in KFC.

Mystères du Château de Dé

Unique, dynamic fragrance I thought I'd never see again, new and cheap in a boring shop. Today I found a new 100ml bottle, all alone, for sale in my favorite discount perfume shop in Lausanne Switzerland. Shocked to see it there. 40 bucks so it's mine. I asked if they often stock it and she said it comes in every once and awhile. ! This bottle was manufactured in 2018 by Coty in France. If I see more, I'll pick them up and offer them for sale.

I've got to say I had a huge fascination with this one. I learned it had the pebble note. Who knew what pebbles smell like?. Definitely a unique fragrance. I can see why it still has a following since it's been discontinued. Overall, it definitely has the CK vibe like most of their unisex fragrances have. It also has the mediocre lasting power however- wait, this one tries to hang on and actually get a little stronger. I put it on it night and I can still smell it all over my arm this morning. It is just unique enough to make it stand out. I would not spend an exorbitant amount of money on it. Fortunately , I got my bottle very cheap anyhow a fun fragrance with a cult following.

TayDidIt

Bought his back when it released and had no idea it had an 18 month lifespan in stores.
Since then i’ve tried to find it online and bottles are going for hundreds of dollars now sadly.

BUT i was able to find a clone with Divain Parfums.

To my nose Divain-179 nails the profile with a bit more umph in performance. For around $20 it’s worth checking out!

Edit: Divain Parfums discontinued this clone as well. Hopefully somewhere out there lies another.

MyScentBubble

This transports me to a pebbled beach, amazing how this perfume done that. was that what they were trying ? Idk but if it was, it was spot on. Very unique. Didn't know it was discontinued:/' I only sampled it

Every time I smell this, all I can think is, "This is the best perfume of all time!"...seriously. Perfectly unisex, fresh, clean and aquatic without smelling like any other generic freshie or floral perfume out there. Juicy like a fresh cucumber without smelling like one, sweet and slightly feminine without any fruit or florals being obvious at all, and brings about the nostalgic recall of freshly cut grass and ocean washed pebbles, I seriously have a hard time working this perfume out or even explaining it! All the notes listed are present but blended so beautifully they all dance off of each other so beautifully! The combination of mandarin orange and pear is delightul. I layer this with angel nova to make it more sweet fruity and floral, or with apple brandy by kilian to make it warmer fruity and more mature. A beautiful all rounder!

george85

one of the most compliment getter perfume , people used to stop me in the street to ask what is my perfume , finished more than 14 bottles ,A REAL GEM , we need it back PLZZZZZZ

notfrannie

I can't believe they don't make this anymore!! It's everything I wanted Maison Margiela's beach walk to be, clean and mineral like sea breeze, with that incredible distinct and intoxicating wasabi accord. This is what summer smells like, and I wish I'd gotten a full bottle before it went away forever

TinyNose

I absolutely adore CK2 and now that it's discontinued I regret not repurchasing my last bottle.

This fragrance made me feel so powerful, in an understated way. Clean and fresh but with a slight suggestivity to it.

The wet pebble note is remarkably accurate and the opening is slightly juicy.

If you want to emulate what it smells like just after it's rained this is for you.

The sandalwood is very subtle but it's what makes this otherwise aquatic and citrusy scent a little bit sensual.

CK2 is also very gender - it's lithe and ambiguous in the best way.

BRING IT BACK PLZ!

Dark Owl

A unique unsung masterpiece!!!

PLEASE BRING THIS BACK CK/COTY!!! 🙏

A real shame that it’s been discontinued! If you can find a bottle of CK2 at a reasonable price, grab it and worse case resell it if you don’t like it. I found an open box for a good deal and I’m loving it. Looking at the notes, I get some pear, some florals, a little musk and much pebbles. I think this is a very pleasant and unique.
In the air, it smells like a sweeter version of Baie 19 from Le Labo, but that one is much more expensive.

jessi_

Had to take a break from this because it was my daily use scent for a few years and now I'm worried that I'll run out of it again. Mineral, ozonic, fresh, without being generic. I've gotten countless compliments on this fragrance.

Glennard

What the hell is with the cons list? 🤣

ScentedAway

My first ever perfume - a sensational and all-rounded combination of violet leaf, tea, saltwater and incense act as a precursor to the Gucci Pour Homme II which I later bought. Would not hesitate to relive the nostalgia again. Also, try L'eau Froide of Serge Lutens to get similar results.

sullenhue

If I think too much about the fact that this is discontinued I'll start to get really sad. It's been a staple in my collection since high school, luckily my bottle is still fairly full, but after reading the reviews I'm worried it will go sour soon.

Ceau de Parfum

That stone/pebble/concrete/terrazzo is real and kind of remarkable. Rock, wasabi, violet leaf with pink flowers. This is olfactory art during a time it was not fully appreciated.

It was one too short for this world, getting axed after a mere 18 months in existence.

Very unique scent for a designer fashion house and the bottle is nothing short of iconic. The description of Urban Woody is not far off: Nostalgic hangs during simpler times.

ceezus92

“Urban woody” is pretty spot-on. I recall faint memories of walking around the mall in the late mid to late 2000s. Maybe it is raining outside. Or maybe it is watching summer rain pelt down onto the tree leaves that line the block from inside your room with the AC on.
Zingy, spicy floral opening that is gradually grounded by iso e and an astoundingly refreshing mineralic musk.
perfect unisex summer fragrance if you long for squeaky clean nostalgia— lasts quite long on me as well.

Sparkleball22

I found a pocket spray of this on eBay and it’s really really good! I can’t un-smell the concept of “pebbles” now that I saw it in the notes and dang if it doesn’t smell of the concept of wet rocks and a powdery airy thing simultaneously?!? It’s so comforting and grounding. I think this could be a year round fragrance but I’m really enjoying the cool aspect of this in the searing heat.
I might just buy a few more pocket sprays because I think they are .3 Oz and the way I rotate perfume that will last me forever. So nice and a soft, unique and beautiful unisex. Lasts long for a ck.

Bmcbat

Not sure if this is due to older stock but this smelled a little more fresh when it first came out, less wasabi/sharp. I've bought it as gifts since, and noticed it seemed a little more masculine leaning than previously. I do like it once the top notes fade a bit, but it's certainly a masc unisex.

Anyway, I think this perfume works with the overall aesthetic of modern Calvin Klein, especially with their advertising, but I think CK2 might've been a little too ahead of its time, to be honest. While the trend for unisex perfumes is growing, mineral-esque airy freshies aren't trending in a mass-appealing way -yet.

Also the attractive bottle design isn't the most functional, so be careful with storing it amongst other fragrances.

derliesl

Don't bother finding this second hand: after 5 years it's getting off 😥
Really bummed because it was my favorite fresh scent, but now it's getting a bit sour.

I find Jusbox Feel & Chill to be very similar to what CK2 was fresh off the shelf.

dowercandy

This is one of my favorites. Cool and refreshing summer scent that is dominated by its rose and musk notes while never getting too heavy. Once the notes mix and settle, it reminds me of an artificial candy watermelon in the most sophisticated way. Again, I love it but it doesn't last long at all and I can't reliably repurchase it now that it has been discontinued. However, it is IDENTICAL to Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Celestia which, although pricey, does have the longevity.

Cooling321

Tom ford Oud minerale on the cheap. Awesome! And a crying shame it’s gone!

sprayonce

"Bubbling forest water" is the best description I can make. I miss this fragrance. It is too expensive secondhand, but for good reason. If you can obtain it at a reduced price, go for it. I recall Crave following the same scarcity.

sbmmbs21

This is one of my favourite fragrances of all time! It’s quite unusual & unlike any of my other fragrances, but I’d say it’s fresh, clean & minerally.

Absolutely gutted to see it’s been discontinued!! Going to have to stock up on this gem. A delightful unisex daytime fragrance that is versatile enough to be worn for the whole year.

Dark Owl

One of the best CKs ever, in fact for me it's one of the best fragrances I've ever owned. My best 'blind buy' by far, it's paradoxically unique (to me) but also not challenging. Avant-garde and modern yet pleasant and comforting. A juxtaposition of real & fantasy, memories both good & bad. Natural & synthetic. Contrasts which somehow work together in creating a smooth, clear, calming, yet multi-faceted masterpiece.

I expect this sadly discontinued gem to fetch ridiculous prices online in the coming years, unless CK/Coty do the right thing and bring it back 🙏

scentiful

Really wanted to like this one but I had to pass it on. It smells like cologne to me with some underlying fiery wasabi.

Lwjm

“Pebbles” my arse.

What do pebbles smell like? Pebbles at the sea? Pebbles in my garden? Pebbles in my pond? Pebbles by the roadside? Pebbles from the Flintstones?

Sometimes Fragrantica makes me wish I had a revolver.

RIVERAEDGE

I don't think it's a matter of fakes, they're probably just going noseblind or it doesn't stick well to their skin

Cooling321

I’m convinced half of you got fakes! This is very long lasting and projects well for a CK offering. Really good wish it was still around.

ahsif

This is so good! Great very hot weather fragrance 35'C and above. But it does leave a good sillage even in temperature controlled environment.

If you get a good deal, just grab it. i have had this for years now, 7 years and still makes me feel as good as it made me feel the first time i wore it.

i feel like saying -- they dont make like 'em anymore! but it is too new to have that status just as yet.

EauDeBaldy

I didn't even know this existed until I randomly saw it online somewhere and said "What a cool concept for a bottle and stand." and literally got it because of that lol.

This is somewhat a good continuation of the original. It's nice, clean, fresh, of course inoffensive and enjoyable. Definitely for the summer and, warmer weather is better as it will bring it out more.

It keeps that crisp freshness of the original with this. It's a t-shirt and jeans kind of a causal fragrance.
A girl can pull this off easily as it does have a feminine touch to it, but not overly to turn guys away for themselves.

Longevity is great as well, I get a good 6 hours before "feeling" like I have to reapply.

For those looking for this, I personally found this on GiftExpress ( had it to notify me as soon as it gets back in and grabbed it right away ) came with the deodorant, which works well as well.

Kalicka

Where are people getting bottles of this from? I have tried three different sites and they were all diluted with alcohol. This is my absolute favourite scent and I want at least two more bottles, with legit juice inside.

Sweetfemme

You just took a shower with the freshest shower gel, while still damp you put on a clean baggy white tshirt and clean grey jogging shorts.

You slick your hair back with a touch of hair gel.

Then you decide to step out on your balcony as the rain just stopped so you pick up the scent of the wet concrete of your building/balcony/street below.

That’s exactly what this smells like. I love it. 100% unisex.
The wasabi comes off as black pepper in the opening but it doesn’t last.

Performs with moderate sillage and not much projection after 3 hours. It still lasts for about 7 hours.
This is for those who want to tickle a someone’s nose with your clean fragrance as you walk by, but not fill their nostrils.

Sade800

Im wearing my sample today during the heatwave and its PERFECT!
CK2 is hard to describe, its light and fresh but it has presence.
Not remotely masculine unlike CK1 (on me anyway)
It gives me Nenuco vibes.
I sprayed it almost 7 hours ago and its still projecting.
My sister said she could smell it on and she described it as 'floral''
Its really nice!!!!

Agnes81

Calvin Klein CK2 is a great hot weather fragrance. It’s hard to describe. Fresh, sweet, earthy and unusual. Totally unisex.

My eight year old daughter says it smells like “summer child”. And I think it captures it quite well. Like a child staying outside in the sun all day that comes in smelling sweet and warm of ozone, dry grass, skin, sand, sun and happiness.

tilapia_johnson

I don't know how much I can contribute to the plethora of reviews that speak to my own experience, but I'll try. The initial spray was not nostril-tingling wasabi to me, but had a somewhat-similar bracing effect. There is violet leaf and the impression of a fruity sweetness, like Arbor Mist White Zinfandel. This gives way to a delicate calone, truly ozonic and mineral-like. Humidity after a hard summer rain, with a hint of flowers. Can't say I can recall the smell of pebbles, but there is a wet stone or concrete note. The aquatic feeling lingers even as warmer notes like vetiver, incense, clean musk and sandalwood come into the frame. A nice, light skin scent like a really good Jo Malone, it's pleasant and inoffensive, with the DNA of CKOne and other notable aquatic unisex fragrances.

Skinscents4Fusspots

This is everything I've ever wanted in a spa like, hot weather perfume! The bottle caught my eye when I was looking at CK IN2U and this one became way more interesting to me. If this was called Rain I feel like it would be talked about more! And in an odd way that's what it's like, rain on hot pebbles - but with some sweetness! I was worried on first spray that it would be too sharp for me (as many fresh perfumes are) but the orris root is working some magic here to let the sharper notes sing while stopping them from stinging the nostrils! I find so many fresh scents to be too sharp or too woody but this one is just clean and refreshing and oddly comforting. It's surprisingly easy to wear for what is quite an unusual perfume. It's a niche smell for a very affordable price! A billion times better than any other unisex fragrances I've smelt from Calvin Klein. I find all but the original CK One to lean very masculine - they all smell like men's summer colognes on me and I'm fussy about such things - I don't got for in-your-face massively feminine perfumes by any means, but I don't ever like to smell masculine. CK2 though.... this is truly unisex! It doesn't lean too much in either direction, it just smells soothing and beautiful. The projection is impressive for a couple of hours and it lasts for at least 6 hours on me before I stop noticing it. It's amazing in high heat. Just perfect! This is what I want in a clean / air / rain concept perfume. it's blended really well and no notes are overpowering on my skin.

angiemats133

It's strange for me to like a fresh kind of vibe fragrance. I find it so so flattering for every age. It was a love at first sight. My mom bought this fragrance for herself because she likes her fragrances to smell like fresh/clean and it was an au de toilette as she prefers. I tried it out of curiosity. It smells better on me and it turns more feminine than unisex. It's a long lasting fragrance and whenever I'm wearing it I take compliments. It's crazy to me that it smells more to everyone and it lasts longer than many au de paefum fragrances. For me it's a yes and I would buy it again and again. It's worth more than it costs 😊

Thewizard

This would be my favourite fragrance if it was more long-lasting.

Ronron216

Love this frag. Wish it was a tad bit more powerful, but that’s what makes it suitable for super high heat. I think it’s near perfect the way it is. My friend says it smells like “mineral water” lol and I agree! It’s so pleasant! It’s very light, in a good way. It’s like the white T shirt of fragrances! Casual, yet classy. Mass appealing, yet unique. If performance isn’t a concern, I suggest you check it out!

Woody and uniquely fresh with a great price point. Petrichor-like scent. It's such a pity that they're discontinued. There are still lots of them on the online marketplaces but I don't think they're genuine; you'd be better off buying Calvin Klein's Reveal, which I think is the closest to CK2 (based on a few sniffs at the department store), although they do lack the wasabi note I adore a lot from this scent.

Liliangaa

Smells like a robot, not the terminator kind, a sensible one with human tastes and an appreciation for sunshine, throwing pebbles in the lake, taking long walks…

Sniff away

Why are people saying this has been discontinued it's available everywhere it's really common online .

Dark Owl

This is such a stunning and unique scent to me. A garden by the seaside, stone fountains, a rain shower after the sun. Beautiful and long-lasting. A must have for me.

KatanaBluebird

I was lamenting on a forum that I was on a quest for a fragrance that smelled like rain. Genuine sweet rain. This was one of the suggestions, saying it smelled like "wet street."

I blind bought it. And wow, this is so clean. It may not be exactly like a wet, foggy forest that I was hoping for but a few layering potentials can get me there. The wasabi and wet pebble notes sealed the deal. So cool and unique! I catch hints of both.

I wear this when I want to smell clean and not overly feminine and sugary. It's a lovely neutral for me.

This is discontinued, but watch for it in outlets and online. Even the bottle is a cool conversation piece!

Sammy84

Masterpiece! A simple, pure and kind of therapeutic scent. There is much fluctuation in the fragrance throughout its longevity. Sometimes its prominent, sometimes it fades and as you start feeling it going, there is again emergence of loud notes. This is not actually cool or fresh scent, neither warm but in between somewhere like humid maybe. To me, it creates illusion throughout, even the bottle is kind of illusion creator to me. Smell is of pure nature without any contamination like a fresh stream, Zen Garden and nature surrounded well by fences and jungle. This scent has been interesting which I feel like wearing in summer, spring and mostly in day time. Quite generic, fresh incense with watery green feel and certainly not the linera one.

Beulo

My first fragrance that I bought around 5 years ago and it is still one of my favorite. Sad that it was discontinued 3 years ago and I couldn't find one with reasonable price anymore. Lack projectivity but this smell amazing and refreshing.

Msc1977

I'm surprised at this one, I find most CK for men, are generic "dude" smells, but this one has some depth.
For those still looking for it, (I live in Toronto Canada) and there are plenty of perfume stores, (dive stores) that sell old outdated perfumes at low rates, perhaps try going into one of them in a neighborhood near you.

I've read a lot of reviews on how this lacks longevity, I sprayed myself before bed, (not sure why) just saw it on my shelf and did it.
Anyway it is still very present on my skin, and not just the base note, the entire scent, I can still smell all the notes. Perhaps I have awesome skin that retains scent well, or whatever, but this juice is not weak on me.

After reading the reviews I expected something a little odd and unique from my sample of CK2, but what I got was a perfectly pleasant unisex summer fragrance.
It opens up with an intense violet leaf and ozonic notes. It feels mineralic, so the description of wet cobblestones and concrete in the official blurb make sense. But in a rather subtle, wearable way.
The wasabi note on the other hand is not that strong. CK2 definitely has some spice to it, but it feels more peppery and not as hot, green and bracing as wasabi.
Later in the drydown it turns more creamy with white musk and florals, but with a hint of vetiver peaking through and lasting traces of the mineral notes from the opening.

I like this, it would be a nice refresher for hot days when you don't want something fruity or citrusy. The projection is very low, but the price is, too, so you can respray a lot. Not really my style, but certainly worth a try for everyone who likes violet leaf, ozonic freshness and a light musky drydown.

Weby007

Really love Calvin Klein fragrances, however this one had no silage and didn’t not last as long as other CK scents. The smell is not offensive, just didn’t find it very strong or as fresh as other CK fragrances. Will give this one a miss.

black matte spray

Fragrance as pop art. Instead of trying to hide its artificiality, CK2 embraces it. Imagine a child's drawing of a cosmos bloom, scrawled in bright red crayon; that's CK2. Reading reviews, I expected something cold and sterile; that's not what I get from this at all. I pick up on the wet pebble quality that comes up so frequently, but to me this is more of a warm summer drizzle than an icy downpour. The florals are by far the most dominant note to my nose, a blast of vivid pink-ish red that softens over time. There's just a hint of sex to it.

Its use of wasabi in the opening is so unique, too; so many fragrances open with spice, but there's a dry quality to the wasabi that's several steps removed from anything I've encountered before. Really, that typifies CK2 for me; lots of familiar elements that are just a few degrees off of what you expected, rendering the whole thing alien. It's like someone 800 years from now, on a distant planet with no access to Earth materials, tried to recreate your typical fragrance of today with only a tattered notes chart as reference. The end result is surprisingly close to the mark, but it's clear the individual components are not of this world.

kaittt

This perfume is one of my all-time favourites and always will be. It's aquatic yet warm, and subtle yet striking. Clean and airy while still filled with depth. It's the perfect unique scent without being offensive. Perfectly unisex and is a sexy scent for both men and women. It actually reminds me of my boyfriend's cologne Givenchy Play, just less citrusy.

judybikmeit

It smells like Bvlgari Omnia Citirine. 💛

vdog

Not the wet pebbles cologne I was hoping for :(
I definitely sensed the “wasabi” spicyness in my throat when smelling this off me, but it just as well reminds me of burping radishes, which is why I hate radishes. And way too floral to be within my comfort zone. Not the safe unisex florals like in Neroli Portofino either. More like the peony listed in the notes. So yeah, peony and radishes with just a touch of that wet pebble smell I was really hoping to be front and center. Good thing I got the small travel bottle. Props to the bottle design for originality, but it ends there, since it’s nowhere near unisex for me.

DaianeNov86

Love the scent and the unique shape of the bottle! This is definitely one of the few unisex scents that I like. Very fresh and clean, perfect for summer, even though it doesn’t last on the skin more than 1 hour. The sillage is not great either, but overall a really nice scent.

Kalicka

If anyone has a bottle they would like to sell, please message me. I absolutely love this fragrance, it's unfortunate that it was discontinued :(

Let me preface my review by saying that I live in Thailand where it is hot all year round. The 'winter' here is generally around 27°C, or maybe 22-25°C if we're lucky enough. It is very tragic and an insult to real winter in other countries.

I blind bought CK2 in November 2020, which was in the winter, as a present to myself and it was my first 'grown-up' perfume ever. Having feverishly read all the reviews here, I was dying to know how this pebble and wasabi notes smell like, and my expectation soared through the roof. So, when the perfume arrived to my house via mail, I could barely contain myself and rushed to test it. On initial spray, my first thought was filled with disappointment -- I thought it was meh and I'd already smelled this somewhere. At that time, I had just begun my olfactory journey and my nose had not been trained yet.

Fast forward to the present, after having owned a few bottles of perfume, I could finally appreciate the scent. It is pretty unique and, as others said, therapeutic. You will not smell generic if you wear this since it is not widely known to the mass of people, or at least here in Thailand. The transitions to middle notes and base notes are very fast, so some might perceive it as linear. On my skin, I detect orange, wasabi and maybe violet leaf for the opening. Then the pebbles note comes into play, with woody and smoky undertone, and remains prominent throughout. I consider CK2 to be 'genderless' more than unisex, albeit with a slight hint of feminity.

Longevity-wise, it was amazing in temperatures 27°C max, lasting up to 12 hours on me. However, when I wore this on extremely hot days (around 35°C), it had zero performance whatsoever; one hour and it's totally gone. As for projection and sillage, the perfume projects very strong within the first 20 minutes; 7 atomizations are already enough to fill a room. Then it calms down to an arm length and stays that way for a couple of hours, before completely turning into a skin scent.

All in all, I'm glad I purchased CK2. For me, it's a like not love, since I'm more into florals, but in my opinion this is arguably one of the genderless masterpieces from the house of Calvin Klein and also from this era.

marco_m

Truly there is nothing like CK2! It is so forward thinking for a Calvin Klein offering. Over the years, I have tried many niche fragrances which advertised themselves in that curiously conceptual way: solar rays, concrete, petrol, lightbulb, dust, etc, etc... yet for some reason CK2 is the only fragrance I’ve used which captures the allure of synthetic futurism. On me it is at once both cold, brightly metallic and dry sauna aromatic. Very sweet as well. Very linear, as others have said, but it’s “one note” performance is an interesting one. It’s longevity and silage are respectable on me. Contrary to the experience of other reviewers on here, I can usually still smell CK2 by the end of the day (close to the skin, mind you, but it is always still there). Really bummed this was discontinued, one of my all time favorites. I’m gonna have to bulk buy and hoard.

Deanross

i love this scent ...to me it smells like fresh clean linen..soapy ..fresh fresh and fresh ,,,,but sucks it only last a few min,,,gave mine away...missed it just smelling on wrist for a smile so bought another bottle,,,but trust me even soaking your clothes with this one youll get no longevity .....love it anyways ..ha

Archaic

I like the concept of CK2. Androgynous? Yes, though slightly feminine. Unique? Yes. On my manly tanned skin in a humid tropical environment, CK2 is very linear, projecting the scent of an imaginary flower with a tiny hint of some sort of pepper-ish and powdery characteristic. Too bad that CK decided this is a flop and discontinued this amazing stuff. I mean, when was the last time we seen floral for men like Givenchy Insense (the yellow ones, not the Ultramarine bluish liquid) or Kenzo Power?

I get it if CK tries to reinvent CK One to make it more "relatable" to the current generation, but seems they miss the mark though. Things might be different if this was a CDG or some niche brand perfume. Could easily pass as a CDG's creation though.

diaanz81

This one intrigued me because I heard it being described as having a note of wet concrete/pebbles and I must say it does! It is quintessentially a very light, watery floral to my nose, unisex but slightly leaning feminine on me at least (I am a woman) but lurking in the background is this mineral accord which does smell like the scent in the air when rain hits pebbles or concrete. It smells clean probably because of the musk and a light sandalwood note. There is also a super light, watered down fruity and green something something in the opening, but I don't get the incense. Just think watery version of everything they have listed and you will get an idea of what to expect. I do really, really like this one and think it will be a great one for hot summer days. Performance is not the greatest but it does last as skin scent for me for about 6 hours. Glad I decided to try it and it is interesting but it's not by any means exceptional.

PS. The bottle and juice is a very accurate depiction of the fragrance

I am deeply saddened by the fact this fragrance is discontinued and it will surely be treasured in my collection now more than ever. I totally sense the sharp wasabi and violet leaf at first whiff and then rose (which I hate if it´s overpowering in a fragrance, but here it is well played).

CK2 lasts very well on me, but I really recommend spraying it on clothes and hair, it will stay there for quite a while..

Knightsbridge9

I initially bought this when it came out and it quickly became my go-to for most of my time at university. The violet and wet rock/concrete are really what does it for me.

Really poor longevity unfortunately which isn't a major issue considering it's cheap enough to respray/overspray. I will have to buy a bottle or two now that it's being discontinued.

djbuffoon

The scent is excellent, the performance is not. But it is perfect for hot summer days, where strong performance is actually somewhat of a hindrance.

adamh9201

THE GOOD: very androgynous, unique and overall nice
THE BAD: super dissatisfied with the longevity, it is unnoticeable once it it’s the skin. I recommend spraying on the clothes
BLIND BUY: yes
RATING: 6/10

CK2 by Calvin Klein is one of the most tragic discontinuations and is also the first fragrance i ever bought in panic after its cancellation was rumored in the fragcom, and is also one of the most treasured fragrances in my collection, not only because it's an absolute banger and a very unique and (perhaps formerly, depending on when you're reading this) affordable designer perfume, but also because of some significance it holds to me and my development.

see, CK One was my signature fragrance when i was young. like, 4 years old young. actually, it wasn't CK One, it was U by Designer Imposters because at that point (1999, for reference) i don't think CK One had reached it's bargain basement cheapie price yet and my working-class single mother would probably rather not buy a designer fragrance for a grubby toddler because she's a sensible woman. i loved that god damn bottle of synthetic trash. it smelled GREAT. i took it everywhere in my powerpuff girls backpack and i sprayed it on every day before i went to my pre-school and it made me feel VERY cool and grown up. perhaps that it's due to this memory that CK One still has a deeply beloved place in my heart.

this of course makes CK2 the sequel to something that was incredibly important to me as a child. it could turn out to be a Kingdom Hearts 3 situation where sequel was actually good enough to justify the wait and the potential putting-off of your established audience from back in the day, or it could be an Incredibles 2 and be a heartless ploy to snatch money from the wallets of nostalgic and now-employed millenials that sucks out loud.

it isn't tho! CK2 is, thankfully, a fresh fragrance in a way that not many other freshies dare to be fresh. it smells like an arboretum after it's rained in the spring: green, floral, a touch woody, and very, very damp. refreshingly damp! the ozonic wet stone note reminds me of the life-giving rains of spring, and also (as a former South Coast resident) the relief of a hurricane having rolled over without putting a tree in your roof. it's a relaxing and uplifting scent through and through.

other big players here are violet leaf, which adds some bright fresh greenness, and wasabi, which adds some peppery fresh greenness. the vetiver adds a bit of woodiness to make the fragrance more "sturdy" i suppose, it's already quite light and i can only imagine it'd be only half the strength it is now without it. it's woody and pleasant and does not lean this fragrance in a masculine direction which is what i tend to think when i hear "vetiver." the florals are here and you CAN smell them (unlike the alleged incense note which is AWOL from the start to the end of CK2's duration) but i could not pick one of them out if i tried, they all sort of blend together, much like thescent of a rained-on flowerbed. the mandarin and pear add the obligatory citrus/fruit pop at the start of the fragrance but don't really hang out for long, the mandarin might add a TOUCH of sweetness past the opening but that's it.

i'm not gonna even bother doing bullet points for the boring review stuff like usual because there's not much to say: it performs okay for a fragrance in it's style for about 4 to 5 hours, it's perfectly unisex but if you're a guy and flowers terrify you you might say it leans feminine, and pricing is/was good. i got a 100ml for 30 bucks, and prices still seem decent provided you can find a bottle. i'm currently looking for a jumbo just so i never run out. this is, like most freshies, a summer/spring daytime fragrance but i can see wearing it in winter for a blast of cold watery goodness.

The Point Of All This is that CK2 is the Kingdom Hearts 3 of fragrances and is a very unisex walk through a soaking-wet botanical garden in full bloom. it is probably the finest of all of the Calvin Klein unisex fragrances in my opinion and it's discontinuation should qualify as a hate crime towards me and me alone. it would have been nice to actually smell that incense tho.

9 long-awaited sequels to 90's children's media/10 - 博

bluegreenplanet89

This is a cool one, in every sense of the word. Surprisingly, I can make out the wasabi note in the first few seconds after spraying, and then as it dries down, it takes on a much woodier scent, almost like incense. I like it. It's unique, it's weird in a good way, and it's truly unisex. I'm glad I smelled it, I would be glad to wear this often too if it wasn't for the tiny little issue I have with it - the more I smell this, the less unique it smells and the more it reminds me of a department store. Yes, a department store, particularly the clothes and perfume section. Clean and expensive, sure, but still, a department store!

JustSimpleThings

This was a blind buy, I bought it because of the 'wtf?' notes list- it made me so curious, I couldn't resist.

I like it but don't love it. To me, this smells like slightly sweet cucumber, and I don't really like that. Also it becomes a bit peppery from the Vetiver as it dries down.

I think I would prefer to smell this on a man rather than on myself.

Not bad, not bad - just not for me.

ultrasilence

Perfect summer fragrance, summer breeze, wet pebbles. There's nothing I don't like about it. If you like something similar to it – Vanilla Vibes from Juliette Has a Gun and Blu Women Acqua dell Elba will fill in just great (even though they cannot beat the price tag of ck2)

derliesl

I love this fragrance so much, it's a terrible shame that it's being discontinued.
To me, this is what being young in the 21st century smells like. It's the most unisex fragrance I've ever smelled, hands down.
It smells like wet pebbles, cucumber and calone.
It is truly a unisex masterpiece.

frusia

I was curious about this fragrance but knowing it has been discontinued I really hoped I would dislike it. Or at least feel ambivalent about it.

Well, I love it. Yes, it does smell like pebbles. Yes, it's unbelievably calming and therapeutic. It smells like seaside but in a warm, quiet and gentle way. It reminds me of Demeter FL Rain and Sailing Day by Maison Margiela, but CK2 is better than both of them.

So I have to repeat after others: CK, why?

alixiialice

Very unique, mineral, pebble, wet notes in this one. Influenced by the bottle, I think pure oxygen may smell like this. Unfortunately, it leans too floral on my skin, I kept the bottle because it's minimalistic and beautiful.

strut

My beach frag. Sunny salty creamy flowery dry and mineral, smells perfect with the sea. It lingers with the breeze and waves and when I come back from the beach all I can smell is the sea comes back with me. It last, it calms and it is unique.

TrephineArtist

I just ordered another back-up, pre-owned 100ml for a bargain price, to add to my two 50ml and one already started 100ml. I never want to be without this beautiful, therapeutic and almost magical fragrance, that should do for now!

I originally blind bought this after not being able to find it in stores (even though it was a fairly recent release at the time). Best blind buy ever!

I don't know who makes the decisions at Coty/CK but whoever decided to axe this gem of a scent (and bottle) really should explain themselves, also CK/Coty need to have a good look at how they badly market most of their better fragrances! This is among the best CK releases of all time, and like someone said below, it wouldn't seem out of place in a niche brand bottle. Although having said that, I find this has both the creative appeal of a niche or indie fragrance as well as being a scent which should please the majority of people who typically wear designer fragrances.

Don't sleep on this one folks as it could soon become scarce being that it's no longer in production (as crazy as that seems). Prices seem to be creeping up quite a bit now ;)

Nose_Bleed

an artifact from a time yet to pass.
telling of shifted perceptions and changed relations.
a time so human yet so alien, resembling the known present but having changed fundamentaly.
bearing horrors yet unknown to us but posessing comfort like the embrace of your loved ones.
a future wholly contained in a bottle of perfume.
will you revel in its beautiful aesthetic or recoil from its alien strangeness

LoreleiBluebird

Blind buy after reading the recent article and seeing how many people are raving about it.

They discontinued THIS? And kept the zombie Escape?? I'll never understand the perfume industry.
This is a work of art from the opening to the exquisite dry down.
Ozonic perfection with a soft wood and incense base, it's a driftwood fire on a pebble beach after it's gone out.
It lasts really well, to me it takes considerable talent to achieve a base with wood notes that has staying power AND softness.

Would not be out of place in any niche line up.
I need more of this while it's still cheap.

masako_30

Therapeutic. Pure, extremely simple, healing balm.
The essence rises and falls, fluctuates in the absence, it lacks all those perfumes we are used to. Absence is its strong point, and what it emphasizes to me.
Not exactly wet. Umid is for sure, not reaching though an extreme freshness or coolness. And this detail is priceless to me.
It refers to the pebbles but doesn't border on an earthy feeling. These pebbles, despite the humid context, give back a dry warm scent.
An ethereal presence is on my wrist. Invisible, impalpable presence, yet somewhere I feel there is a trace. I see the incense rising from the brazier, I don't perceive its aroma if anything an illusion.
Even the bottle disappears like a ghost between the crystalline transparencies of the liquid and the glass.
CK2 is a masterpiece of fragile and fading appearances and yes, if I weren't wearing it, this empty space around would smell so different. CK2 smells of uncontaminated nature, and mildness I love.

aet

I smell the pebbles, but I also smell the flowers...definitely smell the rose...but it still retains its unisex quality. Doesn't lean feminine yet not overtly masculine. Kudos to Calvin Klein! Longevity good ..sillage close. A good buy all around.

jule9

I had it. It does smell like wet pebbles after a summer rain. And aquatic, very aquatic, slightly sweet, a bit too soft, infantile and sweaty. It turned out to be neither unisex nor gendered one - it turned out impossible to wear in the long run. There is something incredibly tiring about this scent. Pass.

ManoChrome

From the 'wtf is this' first impression this scent managed to grow into one of my very favorite perfumes, and of course, to get discontinued. It is unusual, unisex, unique :) Lots of U-s here. The pebble note in it is very prominent, I have never smelled anything like that before. It is literally the scent of the sun bathed, slightly wet rocks on the wild croatian coast, without turning into a salty-citrus average summer beach scent direction. Violet leaf and wasabi is also there, making it even more intriguing. It is not for everyone, but it can be a signature summer scent to someone with a taste for unusual. I never owned any CK fragrance, although I have sampled almost everything from the house, but somehow they never captivated me enough. This is my first one and I love it! It also never happened to me before to buy another bottle of something I have not even finished the first bottle of, but it makes me sad that it was discontinued and I don't want to live without.
The bottle is also a masterpiece. Clear, modern, captivating.
What a shame this was discontinued. Way too much character in it?

DrNDJas

The scent of 90’s mall nostalgia combined with sexless futuristic minimalism. You know how wasabi burns your nasal passages for a few seconds then evaporates? They captured that ephemeral spiciness. It’s not intense, but it’s woven through the floral and earthy notes like a transparent thread. I can understand why it’s discontinued- it’s dated... no wait, it’s ahead of its time. It’s a pity really. Pebbles, wasabi and vague freshness? this is quite possibly the best CK fragrance I’ve smelled in ages.

halogencat

Picked this up as I had tried it when it was first launched and quite liked it, then saw here that it had been discontinued. I'm still not in love but glad I have it - it's an interesting if not challenging scent. Lots of sweet violet leaf with detectable but polite vetiver, citrus and rose, and the pebble-y accord is reasonably evocative of the first drops of rain on pavement in a summer storm (Lush's Smell of Weather Turning is the best for that particular feel, imo). The wasabi note is detectable but it may as well just be pepper. It's all very cool and synthetic, in a way that'd probably be fawned over from a niche house and I don't mind at all. I imagine it'll be resurrected as a CK1 reissue at some point because it's too nice a scent to totally bury... If you can still find a bottle worth picking up if you want a cool, good value and genuinely unisex scent for summer (e.g. compared with ck1 which I'd say is a unisex that skews somewhat masculine).

Candyandy

This has been discontinued for a couple of months and now I'm only seeing it in last few online stores (April 2020).
The price is still really good, in some places even below 30€ for a 100ml bottle.
If you want to get this the time might be now because I think it will be properly gone in a span of a few months.
The bottle is really cool and although the scent is too weird for some people and not weird enough for others, it seems to have a solid core of fans who love it.

peonies and musk

The new Victoria's Secret body mist in "Capri Lemon Leaves" is a very good dupe for this! It's is 90% similar, with VS being just sliightly more fruity

Harveyyy28

My favourite Calvin Klein scent... and it’s discontinued!?
Really does smell like walking along the beach front, and i get such a pleasant feeling whenever i wear it. The longevity is great unlike other ck fragrances, and I feel that discontinuing their best scent is a massive mistake. Get your hands on one before there are none left!

mikestro

This is by no means generic as some have stated. This is an interesting fragrance. I can actually smell the rain soaked cement/pebbles or stone like accord mixed with an undercurrent of fresh/fruity vibes. I asked my 10 yr old what does it smell like and she said the beach, I agree but sans the salty sea air smell. it reminds me of water soaked sand with a mildly sweet aroma. I'm not sure if I can detect the wasabi but their is another twist to this fragrance I cant identify, all I can say is I love it and will be rocking this this spring and summer.

It's a plus that its projects really well, I wore 4 sprays on a warm 63 degree F winter day. 1 on each wrist, 1 back of neck, 1 on front of pants, it lasted an entire work day and then some, about 10 hrs. my coworker could smell me about 2 hrs after application from a cubicle next to me about 6 feet away separated by a partition. not sure if she liked it but I told her to tell me if my cologne was ever too strong because of her allergies.

I gotta go a little easier on the trigger or crack a window. for a freshie I'm impressed with the uniqueness and performance.

chinook

I was attracted to the y2k-esque bottle design. The notes look so interesting. I didn’t know what to expect. It turned out to be a very generic freshie. It opens up extremely aquatic. Then turns into something plastic with calone overload. My mom thinks it smells like watermelon, but not to my nose. It just smells like perfumes that try to smell like melons. The overall impression is utilitarian and artificial. Sillage is close to skin. Longevity is a few hours.

Alive

A very interesting fragrance indeed!

Unisex, leaning a lil bit towards the feminine side but still wearable for men IMO. It is not your typical summer scent, I can’t really put it in a category, it’s like ozonic-aquatic-aromatic-powdery; reminds me of suntan lotion, sea breeze and the beach environment in general.

A really interesting proposition by CK which gives you lots of compliments, and that is sadly discontinued, but can still be found on the internet and duty free shops (I’ve seen several here in Mexico’s airports)

Very safe for blind buy (:

Albiretu

Why on Earth would a brand with mostly mediocre and generic fragrances discontinue one of their best and most unique offerings? It’s just beyond me.
I have tried and used this in the past, I can’t remember when and how, but I believe I owned a bottle (a smaller version).
I just tried this today at the airport (one of the few places where this can still be found) and I absolutely love this smell. It’s completely unisex, very fresh but also quite longlasting and projects incredibly well too. It smells of wet air, that refreshing feeling of the ocean mist. It’s green, rainy, and interestingly enough it does almost remind me of the feeling of walking on the cold stones touching the water on the beach. It’s one of those fragrances you can share with your boyfriend, and I love the bottle and the concept of this. Bring this back!

TrephineArtist

This has definitely been discontinued, which is a real shame. I don't usually do back-ups as like to try new things but for this I have two 50mls (one I'm using) and have just ordered a partially used 100ml (75% full). I may try to get more as gifts as I know family and friends who I really think would love this too.

As we know fragrance is subjective and very personal and for me this is such a unique scent, I do feel though that once people get past any preconceptions about the CK brand they may discover this true gem. I honestly think people would be raving about this if it were in a 'flavour of the month' niche brand or private line high end designer bottle.

Get it (or at least try it) while you can and take a calming stroll through a Mediterranean/coastal flower garden after the rain.

Norgirl

Tryed this one my skin today , It wasent rely anything i looked for but i stumbeld upon it among other stuff and thought well why not. So here it goes .
I belive i tryed this ones before and did not like it . But today something happend , The top notes are not bad , fresh and aquatic. But after just a few minuts the notes turn into a not so good cobblestones note with algies and salty see a bit to dirty and dusty , almost like your at the beach and some seeweed and dirt mixed with some dieing fish or something , Well its not that bad , but a bit dirty . But then after it drys down . i had almost forgotten about the whole scent . I smell something rely wonderful and refreshing and i get something similer to Etoil nuit Goutal and also maybe a tiny bit of Rem by Reminiscence.with added some salt and less mint , But still pretty similer on my skin .
I have been craving something for summer with a salty aquatic vibe , hm.. i wonder if this might be something i want after all . ha ha a never ending story this testing and trying of perfumes .

zareliman

This is very different. First it smells like something diluted, I get something like fig/cucumber flavoured water, also I get like a 'fresh printed document' note. From the notes stated I can only clearly identify Rose and Mandarin, the rest is a weird concoction. I still can't decide if I'll wear this, it will have to grow on me I guess.

duyprosf

This was my first love. Didn't like it that much when i first started, but soon i learned to appreciate the dry down of it. Very masculine, yet very soft! The open is a bit harsh tho. The scent really developed into a different thing!

7/10

mmmmgood

what Im getting is cool, ocean-drenched air, green (almost medicinal) notes, wasabi and lots of incense & musk. I dig it. I smelled it on a guy, and honestly?..all the notes combined, it smells like the sort of raw, fresh smell, you get standing on a beach, basically. And surprisingly, long lasting. Im talking, an all day skin scent.

TrephineArtist

I've revisited this one since last summer and must say again kudos to Calvin Klein & perfumer Pascal Gaurin!

I love this fragrance, admittedly it won't be for everyone as it's quite floral (rose) and full of modern synthetic notes, it does however smell fantastic!

Paradoxically even though it's synthetic I'm instantly reminded of the smell of rain on sun-warmed flowers and plants (and on stones!), or of the special scent you get inside a florist's shop, that watery aroma of the cut flowers and the unmistakable odour of fresh roses in bloom. Add to this an underlying lightly salty yet somehow sweet scent which for me recalls a day at the beach on the Mediterranean, sun drying the sea water on sunscreen sweetened skin. It's a relaxing, musky but non cloying scent, kind of an oddity in the designer realm with a unique 'water cooler' presentation.

I wonder will this go the way of 'Crave' and be almost completely forgotten or will it become a cult classic/unicorn fetching silly money in a few years time? In any case I'm glad I have it in my collection as it's a little beauty.

Edit: 30/06/19 - I wore this to a wedding yesterday at a magnifique Chateau during this intense heatwave (38 degrees Celsius) in France , sprayed on (5 sprays) including one on my shirt and two underneath. I had a nice refreshing sillage for the whole day, beautiful. More than 24 hours later I could still smell it on my shirt (just before doing the laundry). Absolute gem of a scent, simply perfect, it will forever be one of my favourites, for me to wear but also to smell on the lovely ladies.

betuska

I love it! My boyfriend wears it too.

HyenaSuperstition

This smells like ozone, newspaper ink, and a few other indescribable things that were entirely synthetic. I wore it three times, and each time I promised myself I wouldn't wear it again. Worst blind buy ever. There is nothing unique about this other than the instant desire to throw it away... Which I did. I thought of donating it but then felt bad trying to pass this off to anyone living.

Sorry for the scathing review. However, this fragrance was truly unwearable.

terezzz

This is very interesting to me. It's fresh and sweet and perfectly unisex. The scent itself is cold and metallic, borderline sterile-smelling. This fragrance is suitable for warmer weather, when you're sensitive to smell or if you work in an environment that calls for more subtle fragrances. Naturally, it's an individual preference when and where each person wear their fragrances, but this one is especially good when you don't want your fragrance to dominate. All in all, I'm very pleased with this! Projection is moderate and lasting power is 6+ hours.

justchillinxo

Very slightly sweet, with a bit of pepper and something aquatic. I think the bottle suits it perfectly.

AHeartLikeMine

Sharp and unpleasant.

Rockdj

Sorry but I use to like CK fragrances but this one is a big no for me. It’s fresh? Yes but not in a good way on me. It’s not my type of fragrance, it’s not aquatic at all, it’s like a mixture of citrus, some spicy and woody notes. I can’t stand the lavender note mixed with the other notes, I don’t know if it’s true the wasabi note is there but don’t like it at all. Thank goodness it doesn’t last on me. Next!

Kalicka

For a very long time I have been on the hunt for a beautiful fresh scent to suits my taste's and not choke everyone around me. When I first tried this, I thought it smelled like cardboard. But when I got home, I realized I absolutely love this. This scent reminds so much of Bergamot which I love, and It's not even in the perfume! Or that wonderful scent in the air after a rainstorm. It is so fresh, woody, floral. It smells so incredible in the cold (I sprayed some on my winter parka), I can't wait to try it in the hotter seasons!
That said, layer this with CK Eternity Air. It happened by mistake lol, but wow! To my nose, they compliment each other beautifully.

iL-J_L-Ji

I am surprised that Calvin Klein created this perfume very unique to alot perfumes in my collection. it's great for hot days. the projection is subtle after the 1st hour about a foot away but leaves a scent trail for about 4 hours. great for casual situation it's a bit synthetic but the uniqueness is what I enjoy about ck2 overall 7 / 10
Disappointed that it is discontinued.

Jish80

This smells like a combination of musks. It's just so light and inoffensive I'm not sure what the designer was going for other than a safe skin scent

sea0011

I put one spritz on my reluctant husband the other day and every time I walked by him was greeted by this wonderful scent. I think he enjoyed the attention I gave him because of the scent more than the scent itself.

To me it is citrus and cobblestones, on him. It smells like really good expensive men's deodorant on a rainy summer day.

When I wore this it was citrus and metallic. It definitely suited my husband's chemistry better than mine. It would have smelled amazing on my college roommate; CK Euphoria was her signature scent. This smells nothing like Euphoria but I can picture her wearing this one in the summer and Euphoria in the winter.

chandra.goldie.aulia

The opening is.. very odd. I wonder how some of you doesn't smell wasabi in it. The opening is full of wasabi, smells like fermentation.

It dries down to a synthetic metallic smell, in a good way. I think this is what people describe as a pebble + violet leaf. It's very refreshing in this 2nd phase. It gets a bit sweeter than the opening, like a hint of fruitiness inside it. I don't know where that came from.

Bought a 10mL decant for my SO, but she doesn't seem to love it. She said it's nice though.

SenoritaCarissa9

The bottle concept is so unique and I really want to like this juice but after just spraying it on my skin as soon as I got home from the store,,, it’s mosquito repellent. Sad to return it, but the does not mix well with my chemistry whatsoever.

terrierhead

I enjoyed several tester vials before springing for a full bottle. This is a lovely, wet pebbles during a thunderstorm scent. It's not sweet and is rather ephemeral, but I like it just the same. I get no wasabi from this, but there is a refreshing crispness to the fragrance. Would re-buy at a bargain price, as this is one that needs over-spraying and frequent reapplication.

Re. notes listed with the fragrance - I don't get any wood from this at all. It's a fresh aquatic scent.

chiragh

White Musk blast in a bottle ..

Alces Alces

The mineral notes give this a frisson of gunpowder smell. Gunpowder, wet rocks, and a modern edge. What's not to love? This is great!

Longevity is short, but while it's detectable it smells like fresh air near a wet rock in advance of a thunderstorm. I wish I could smell this all day and fall asleep to it at night. Makes me feel like I am camping.

I love the bottle cap and design.

LuxAestiva

I love it. It’s a modern, barely-there salty mineral fragrance with subtle herbal, woody, musky, floral, aquatic notes to add some body. It feels very synthetic but at the same time triggers memories of very natural things and places. I wear this when I want something that isn’t loud or a statement but is comforting, close and clean.

TrephineArtist

I now have a bottle (50ml) and I kind of wish I'd have gone for the larger size! Hmm maybe I'll get another if the price is right.

This just hits me with memories of a special time and place, so on a personal level it was an awesome purchase. I definitely recommend this fragrance, but well, we're all different, with different experiences. It is a lovely subtle scent which somehow conjures a feeling of endless summers, the sea and rain.

Yesterday I tested Ck2 alongside Mercedes-Benz Cologne and whilst this one didn't project as much (MBC is already fairly soft), it easily outlasted MBC on my skin even with it's very delicate but alluring and ever-so slightly salty (skin)scent.

I love the bottle design too.

Edit: get it while you can!

dttk

I got this as a present for a male friend. It is a nice unisex smell; very suitable for both genders, which is flowery woody fresh and light. I get a little bit Chanel Egoiste vibe, but to me Egoiste has stronger flower notes. It is nice for a summer scent, smells clean..

chiraghbir

SUPER SEXY !!

BRILIANT SILLAGE AND LONGEVITY EVEN IN HIGH HEAT AND MOISTURE .

Already discontinued thankfully found a bottle ..

Excellent summer frag .

10/10 for me .

This perfumes makes me feel like i im swimming under the waterfall, with so muvh stones around me... That's how i feel.

gospodinov_s

Nothing so bad... if you consider how much overpreised garbage are coming in fancy bottles in 2018!

Chaosbird

For me, this was a combination of wet bags of sour cedar mulch in Florida August heat, dried red box wine, and sour cork. Basically, a decomposing cacophony of terpenes and acetic acid. I'm just happy that I was carrying wet wipes.

atarilynx

liking this so far. I don't get the cold metallic vibe some have mentioned, but I do like the light violet leaf and musk mixed with the pear and citrus. The sillage seems to be quite minimal...we shall see how long it will last on my skin.

edsag197

I smelt it when it first came out.
smells like fresh air in the mountains. very refreshing.

Somewhere it goes with lines of Narciso Rodrigues For Him, I gues it’s the musk and the violet, both scents kinda relate with its mineral feel and flowery sparkle. In the heart the peony starts to sing bringing the feminine side of the scent.
If the incense in CK2 would be much stronger no one would be surprised if it was coming from costly nieche brand. Discountiniued? The mass does not deserve it...

mylene_stl

I would totaly love it, if it was not about that one note (I don't know which one) that is annoying me. It is not constant, I can't smell it at every snif, but it is enough to discourage me to buy it.

nevica

This is a good scent with good longevity which is unusual for CK. It is a clean fresh smell. I have no idea what pebbles smell like but what I get is light violet and vetiver.

The bottle design is reminiscent of medicinal drips which gives me the idea that there is a clean and refreshing scent inside the bottle.

It is an everyday scent, not too overpowering but mysterious enough to come back to regularly. It is one of my favourite scents in my collection.

Well done CK.

MercuryAlonso

Loved it on my colleague, it left a nice and clean trail behind him and I even could tell he was there without seeing him. Tried it on my skin yesterday but the smell was too synthetic and strong. It is a nice scent that gave me flashbacks from when I was 5 of 6 but it was too much for my nose. Maybe it is the wasabi ? Oh and it has a solid longevity (6 hours before I had to wipe it out).

So definitely an interesting scent but sadly not for me.

Wooster97

Lasted only 2 years ,not suprised ,smells of almost nothing ,have to cover yourself in it to get any kind of aroma! This was a really strange release by Calvin Klein ,with some exceptionally strange notes that really don’t blend well together ,never been too keen on smelling of wasabi and pebbles ,but hey ,each to their own

heroine

Based on the reviews, I thought I would smell something nice. I was wrong. I'm glad I didn't blind buy this. This smells horrible.

it´s been discontinued? Oh, no! I love it. I think it is an acquired taste perfume. It is strong and masculine. I feel like a female superhero from the future when I wear this.

who.am.i.you

This somehow really does emulate the smell of wet pebbles by the river. I work in the river and get to smell that often during the summer months and it's amazing how well they captured it! It's a fairly clean, unisex, airy type of scent that's great for outdoors work or if you just want to wear something without committing to something heavy. It's a cold scent, but at the same time reminds me of the smell of pavement after it rains. Almost like a humid frigidity to this, if that makes sense. I enjoy it, but wouldn't buy a whole bottle! I didn't even know it was discontinued (reading the below review).

ITBoa

Recently people seem to be showing this fragrance a lot of love, probably because it got discontinued and people now think the fragrance is special because it won't be as easy to obtain like it was a few months back (trends are funny that way... Hard(er) to get = best fragrance ever all of a sudden). More than likely this is a physiological result of people thinking they are more "special" because they could have a rarer fragrance, and thus take the time to truly appreciate what it has to offer.

Seeing the trends, I decided to spray some on from a bottle I got a while ago. I always loved the bottle design, one of my favorites from the ridiculously gigantic collection of fragrances I have wasted thousands of dollars on over the years (the addiction is real folks). I also notice my nose seems to change by the season, I may hate something one day, then come to love it a few months later and smell something completely different. So periodically I revisit old fragrances I didn't care much for when I originally blind bought them in order to reacquaint my nose to the scent.

After testing this one again, I have to say that Ck2 to me is just Ok. I've never been fold of this particular scent DNA (too feminine, always reminds of me a generic skin/hand creme for women), and while I can appreciate it more now than I did a year or so ago, I still don't see anything special with this one. Smelling it now, I can say without a doubt that it gets lumped into the "white bottle" fragrance category. You know, that signature "clean, light and musky" scent that smells like a dentist/doctors office. No idea how to categorize the scent other than that.

Ck2 is clearly along the same vein as other white bottle fragrances such as Lalique White, Ferrari Essence Musk, Guerlain L'homme Ideal Cologne, and Clean for Man White Vetiver (to name a few). While it's not a bad scent DNA, it's nothing special or unique to my nose. Every other "white bottle" fragrance has this exact same scent character, but each with their own slight twist. However in the end, they all smell similar enough to be basically the same scent.

My second rewiev about the phenomenal CK2, my all time favorite. Bad news: This one goes bad too fast... When I saw that Calvin Klein discontinue this precious creation, I stocked few bottles. As of today I realized that my two bottles of 100 ml., one of December 2015 and the second of January 2016, both originals, both kept in their original package and in good conditions but both gone bad. By going bad I mean: The first sharp-citrusy-spicy spalsh is considerably weakened (and 12/2015 bottle is weaker than 01/2016) the top notes nearly disappeared, like the fragrance starts from middle notes and the overall sillage and longevity weakened too.. That reminded me that Clinique's Happy is also famous for going bad too early. I feel sad and frustrated, this is so unique, decent creation... Calvin Klein, you must bring CK2 back, continue to produce it, may it be only for your own prestige to have this futuristic, spectacular quality in your collection.

macroprosopus

Cool, yet sweltering. Airy, yet suffocating...and not in a bad sense. CK2 is a modern, urban twist on the concept of opposites which fits the unisex aspect of it perfectly.

CK2 takes the concept of CK One and pushes it to an extreme. Do not try this perfume if you are afraid of leaving your comfort zone. This perfume does not mess around—it is brave, bold, and beautifully so; since it is, surprisingly enough, very subtle, much like its predecessor.

CK2 is a pleasant perfume which takes your mind to a modernistic jungle, where the trees are made out of chrome and the waterfalls spew glass. Distant, abrasive, provoking, yet so intriguing. If you are a fan of science-fiction, you will find CK2 familiar.

To put it short; CK2 is a nice perfume with ozonic, floral, spicy, and metallic properties meshed with a woody undertone. The coldness of it is balanced with the spicy and woody aspects of it. CK2 is a very interesting, layered concept which makes the CK One pale in comparison. Nonetheless, I suggest trying CK One first before trying the little beast that is CK2.

You will definitely enjoy the experience CK2 provides you.

Nefaria

I have spent time searching for something with this vibe, and now I'm happy to say I have found it.
As a huge fan of sci-fi and futurism, I wanted something that would smell cold, fresh, sterile, synthetic, unidentifiable but very specific.
CK2 fits the bill perfectly. On surface it smells as the bottle looks - clean and a little weird. After spending some time with it, getting to know it better, I can definitely smell the water-fire ad in it. It smells so wet and cold, but also burnt (wasabi and/or incense, maybe?) which is the perfect combination for that techy vibe I've been looking for. Also, as a bonus, wasabi is Japanese, which I find very fitting since East Asia is playing a big role in the cyberpunk aesthetic.

CasuallyFragrant

Refreshing, yet a little spicy. A unisex, everyday fragrance. It leans a little masculine to me.

The sandalwood is quite present to me, and I honestly prefer other fragrances for the woodsy sandalwood scent. And there is definitely a synthetic scent. Normally, I don't mind synthetic scents and tend to love the way it's done with other brands. But not this time.

I find this scent just OK on my skin, and not something I'll be adding to my collection.

andabri

Peculiar scent. First it smells like sweet clean white lotion with an strong undertone of minerally, metallic scent woven throughout. Then it becomes wet sidewalk concrete with green leaves and water. However, there's just a tang of something synthetic in it that keeps it from being a "wow that's realistically cool" type of scent. It smells better from far away than it does up close, and as someone who wears scents for myself and not for others, that matters to me. The closer I get to wherever I spray it, the more fake and unrealistic it smells. Interesting concept, but not my personal taste.

blackmartini

Call me boring, but I love most Calvin Klein fragrances for their minimalist, unisex quality. This one is undoubtedly their most avant-garde creation. It somehow manages to be cutting edge and pleasant at the same time.

It really smells of pebbles, so that's quite a feat in itself. Cloudy skies, an electric storm brewing on the horizon. A zen garden and a fresh stream, but not quite a picture of nature, they are surrounded by barbed wire fences and a concrete jungle.

Very post modern, I feel this should be called Millennium.

Corinne39

I was looking for something "aquatic" when I bought a mini bottle of this.. What I got was something totally unexpected, unique and amazing! Not particularly watery, except in a rain on hot sun drenched pebbles kind of way..which is exactly the mental picture I get when I smell it.. I love this in so many ways and have had many compliments. No run of the mill, and I think it will work in cold, wet, grey weather as well as hot summer days.

FloatingOphelia

Unique fragrance. Smells of lily filled ponds or inland sea coves to mine, seaweed, stone, aquatic flowers. There is an old mill on a small lake I used to play on the " shore" as a child...very similar smell. A definite mermaid scent but I like it on my boyfriend. He wears fresh aquatic and blue/ green scents well. Its unisex but I prefer it on a guy( I prefer CK One on a woman). The bottle is super cool too.
Idk what the guys talking about " low standards" that's kind of rude.

hernie

Sometimes I love minimalistic fragrances. I think CK2 is the Queen/King in this.
My wardrobe is full of sweet (fruity, gourmand, etc) scents but CK2 with this earthy, floral, incense aura blow my mind.
Currently I think CK2 and Reveal are the best choices CK brings

BritXOX

Reminds me of wet stones. Love it as I used to "paint" stones with water as a child.

This is truly unisex but I think it leans a bit more to the masculine side and I love it.

Lasting power isn't great and sillage is somewhere between soft and moderate that I find appropriate for this kind of scent. Works well in summer and in cold.

ghenderson1960

Simply the most synthetic creation I've ever smelled. It smells like sour violets and chlorine...not at ALL like the ocean. I gag just thinking of this, quickly removed from all Macy's & only found at discount stores etc. Cool bottle though. 3/10. You really do have to have low standards to appreciate this one

sopke

Finally found a scent that suits to fresh, effortless, but at the same time rich definition and again not spending big money. Love at first sniff

samlovefragrance

Now that was a pleasant surprise! Many fragrances try too hard to smell modern, but this one does so effortlessly. It's not overpowering, a bit minimalistic (in this case that's actually ok), has a Japanese zen vibe like some have mentioned, smells like a spa or a beach in a ultra modern city. I love the bitter salty water accord (a bit reminiscent of Kenzo homme) and the stone-pebble accord and spicy wasabi that dominate the other ingredients; a bit floral, a bit fresh, a bit woody.
I much prefer this kind of modern interpretation of perfumery than say "sauvage" or the endless lemony aquatics.

scent: 8/10
longevity: 6/10
sillage: 6/10

@CombinationCode

"The smell that came with them, was sooo hideus I could not stand to breathe near them I was holding my breath and try to breath through my mouth so I couldn't smell that stench."

My oh my, if I had stood next to this scene, I probably would have laughed myself unconscious.

redhairfrag

If it be stronger I would't buy anything else from now on but its's overall too weak.
I feel the fume on myself for couple of hours though I love and use it for my enjoyment cause it's composition is so beautiful.
To me it smells like an fresh but dewy air after rain in the city, where you feel wet pavement and trees that blooms in spring like lilacs.

Synesthesia Lia

The scent profile of CK2 looked (and still looks) so good to me! Since I usually wear CK fragrances really well, female/male/unisex, this was a no-brainer blind buy. CK has never let me down. Plus, the smells of ozone and wet stones are two of my favorites, and I'll actually go out in the rain just drink them in. I'd so wanted a bit of that in a fragrance!

Sadly, I get neither of these on my skin. Or anything else. From application to dry down, all I smell is creamy lemon. It's lemon grass without the bite, but "drier" than lemon balm, at least to me. It's a very pleasant scent, and I love it just after I've showered. I smell more clean and fresh. But this becomes a skin scent on me within 15 minutes. Sillage doesn't go beyond a foot after about 5 minutes. I've tried slathering myself with it, but the amount doesn't seem to matter. My skin is just devouring this. It's disappearing on my clothes and hair, too. I don't regret the purchase because the little scent I'm getting is so appealing to me as a lover of clean citrus frags in general. But I definitely won't be repurchasing when my small bottle is gone. I'm simply not getting enough scent in this.

This just occurred to me: maybe I'm anosmic to this particular blend? I'm not to most of the individual notes (can't say with regard to the wet stones since I've never before bought juice with that note). Whatever is going on, I wish I could smell all the wonderful notes the rest of the reviewers smell!

lovetribe

Now...3 h longevity and good sillage. I feel this very sweet at this moment.maybe is the impression of a very humid and hot night.

colorfulmess

A grower for me. I am used to sweet, floral scents so this was off-putting at first. I thought it smelled like a hair product. But then, once I began to wean myself off of sweet scents for a few days, I started to feel the attraction and pull of CK2. Around about the 5th day wearing it I finally got the wet stones fantasy note. That was a revelation - now it's like sunlight warmed glass windows in a sushi restaurant. I can smell the wasabi and wet stones very prominently. The violet leaf definitely makes this more masculine but not overly so. It's just clean and refreshing. I would like to layer this with bamboo and rice notes to increase the "sushi restaurant" feel.

joezilla

The only thing bad about CK2 is the marketing. Millennials? 99% of the time this term is used as a derogatory remark for a young individual who is self-absorbed, spoiled and shallow, and Millennials most definitely don't like being referred to as such. Another thing, it's definitely not limited to the target age group. In fact, I think more mature people will appreciate the minimalist aspects of this scent, regardless of gender.

As far as the scent goes, it's good stuff. Wet concrete and pebbles? Creative and kind of yes, but I get jasmine green tea. The jasmine note is clear although significantly toned down compared to it's predecessor CK One. This pebble note smells clean and dry, and most similarly to green tea in my olfactory memory. I've encountered a similar note in Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir and L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme Intense(papyrus I think), although CK2 is super light compared to both of these. It's ultra clean and very light, so perfectly safe for most situations. I'm looking forward to adding this to my collection.

msajoy

at first i couldnt smell it..then i tried again..bought it...its growing on me really fast.something watery bit spicy citrus rosy smell in it with that soft sandalwood...gorgeous unisex wear for scorching heat...doesnt last very long but the smell and the bottle design makes up for it...LOVELY inexpensive casual summer day scent...by the pool on hot tiles...imagine some pool water splash ..and then you to the juice bar and cool down with some fresh juice...

PastelMoon

UPDATE: Unfortunately, it develops a strange sweet undertone on me, which simply ruins the feeling and reminds me of dirty laundry. Seems like that cringy initial note reminiscent of licorice returns in the drydown. I had to give it away.

Fragaria

This reminds me of Reveal which I LOVE! This is a little more clean, like it should be day wear and Reveal, evening wear. I don't even care what these smell like ON me I love them so much! I like to please others, and often will wear something to pleasantly accompany a companion or surrounding area. Not this time! Plug your nose if ya gotta!
I passed this up several times at T.J. Maxx....just like Reveal. I'll never learn! I'm going to get in a swap though, so I'm happy...AND will purchase another one if I run into it for 20.00 again!
These scents to me, are like...I wanna smell like HER. WHY does she smell SO good? It's a brand new home smell...by a cool water hitting the hot dry air breeze.
SO excited to wear this along with my Reveal.
This is a scent to share with a partner also. I'd love smelling it on a man. Except...I can't if I wear it myself! Too bad for me!

Got my bottle in a trade. I just can't say in words how addicted to this I am. Pebbles seem to be first on the list of what others smell. Well, me too but, it's the smell of pebbles in a perfect dream, only saltier. I may see about putting a box in an outside area like Goodwill does for used clothing, only I will be collecting disliked bottles of this!

CombinationCode

Year ago i was working as a student in summer resort in one small souvenir shop. One day, the two ladys came in the shop, (i will never forget this) the smell that came with them, was sooo hideus i could not stand to breathe near them, i was holding my breath and try to breath through my mouth so i couldnt smell that stench... otherwise, im not sensitive to strong perfumes, they dont give me headaches or anything..to me, that smell was something like green chopped poisonous plant, something like field bindweed and as some of u say maybe metalic- more like oxidized fake jewelery. I just could not understand it. I thought maybe they use some kind of organic eko friendly deodorant or what, (not that i have anything against it, au contraire) but smell was so bad and strong i almost womit.
Last month, when i was purchasing new perfume for this summer, i tested this one and immediately remmembered those two ladys.. that was it, that stench. I dont get anything sweet or flowery or citrusy, to me it smells like swamp.
I see lots of you write good reviews for this one and i just cant understand, why to me is just like worst thing you can smell..and its a perfume!
We all have so diferent sense of smell, looks like this one, for me, its on the other end of the spectrum.

missk

When I first sprayed CK2 by Calvin Klein I didn't think much of it. The initial blast was very citrusy, ozonic and metallic. I stuffed the scent strip into my handbag and carried on with my day.

Revisiting this fragrance again, I am amazed by how much it has developed. It's more powdery and floral on second sniff, like a subdued floral aquatic. I may be unpopular for saying this but I actually enjoy CK2 far better than CK One.

The metallic accord remains throughout the entire composition, however it is by no means unpleasant. CK2 smells very clean and clinically fresh to my nose, almost like the scent of undiluted laundry detergent. CK2 would make the perfect Summer scent especially if paired with a casual t-shirt and blue jeans.

At this present point in time this fragrance is leaning more towards the feminine side, especially seeing that I can smell lots of powdery violet leaf and peony emanating from my paper strip. I am however curious to see how CK2 wears on a man.

I find this fragrance to have excellent staying power and moderate sillage. It's a first in a long line of CK One flankers that I actually find interesting.

Nataly17

It is not a "statement perfume", it's "anti-statement". It's saying "I'm neutral, one of the crowd, neither a woman nor a man, neither spicy nor edgy nor strong nor.. anything in particular really".

It may sound boring (actually it is!), but it became my most wearable scent ever, because you know - office.. people around.. mornings when I don't want to think and need to put on some decent clothes and be outside in 10 minutes... I'm coming to the end of the bottle and am hesitating whether I should buy the 2nd; normally I do NOT buy the same perfume again (too many good smells to try in life!), but here I'm really thinking (also the price now is so good when it's no longer new, so why not)

It's super fresh but not too aquatic, perfect balance, I'm giving 5/5.

PastelMoon

Smells very (post)modern.

Warm and deep freshness. Beach, the one situated in the city, rather than resort.

It starts rather sweet-salty and unappealing, kind of like licorice and it takes some time for this initial strange phase to die off.

CK2 becomes very gender neutral, very "grey marl" on the skin and clothes, comfortable, warm but refreshing.

Most likely due to a pronounced violet leaf note, it reminds me of Eau de Cartier without the yuzu, and more smoothly blended.

Smooth, androgynous and very relevant, with opposite, yet blended wet and dry, cold and warm facets.

I need about 7 sprays to detect it tough.

guillermostf

I almost anosmic to this fragrance. In some moments of the day i can detect a soft nice scent but very quicly it-s gone.

strut

It's an interesting smell. Airy, bit floral and has dominant feel of sun shield lotion with soap. I detect wasabi spiciness with a wet cement - very nice. This frag makes me want to go to a beach. Like it very much but projection is questionable. Miles better then ck1.

Soofiya

I don't know who should couple of it's notes smell in fragrances but when first sprayed I can detect violet leaf,a hint of mandarin and something aquatic. It's first half an hour is a very aquatic, ozonic scent to my nose.reminds me watermelon note in marina de bourbon Prince Blanche and calon in some issey miyake perfumes.I can see why some people may love it but I highly dislike this type of scents(I agree with reviews describing it as SPA's smell)hubby also dislikes it as most aquatic, ozonic scents smell like (non cooked)egg to him
It dries down to something better thanks to musk musk and sandalwood (I can't pick up vetiver or incense)
I need to try it again because it seems to have a drydown I may like a bit but all in all it's not me or hubb's type(though I love clean scents and laundry musk)and I don't see a chance of wanting to buy it.it's a pity because we love design of it's bottle
Although I don't like ck2,I see it a nice new member to Calvin Klein's unisex family(ck one,ck be).ck2 is clean, fresh, watery(but thanks god a watrr without fish in it)ozonic and totally suitable for summer and spring.longevity is good and it's very recommendable to people who like these types of scents

Amac24

I liked it when I first sprayed it but then when it sat for a bit it became very musky/hair spray-ish it caused me a migraine soo I would say this is headache inducing if you are sensitive to perfumes all I can say is too heavy for me.

Oldspice

For anyone who criticizes Calvin Klein for not releasing anything unique, here's wet rocks and wasabi!

I sprayed this on my wrist to test it out. After I took a shower I smelled it again and got the wet rocks/wet cement smell clearly. I don't detect the wasabi. I can't pick any individual notes out of this but it does have a clean, laundry type of smell. I agree with other reviewers who see this as leaning more towards feminine.

I don't like wearing this but I respect it as a unique scent that is worth trying out.

cupcake28

This smells like a day at the spa, sitting on the balcony overlooking a zen garden. You can actually smell the pebbles of the zen garden surrounded by fresh air. If you like that spa smell in home deodorizers, you will like this.

cande.elias

amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

auSoleil

I bought this as a little gift for my partner and didn't think too much about it - it was a nice, subtle and long-lasting fragrance, but this has become my favourite fragrance for him! I love how soft the violet leaf and mandarin are but to me they're still really masculine. The wasabi is a really interesting note that to my knowledge I haven't come across before.
All in all I adore this scent! It's gorgeous and I can't lie, I do like the fact it seems fairly underappreciated as it means I rarely smell anyone else wearing it.
In fact at work I only show the nice customers this fragrance! ;)

refikama

My one. Love lots of perfumes but every time I come back, it reminds me how lovely and impressive a fragrance can be.

derplynus

Youth in a bottle. This is my signature scent just because it is so likeable scent. It has this laundry vibe to it that makes sure you're smelling good anytime.

GabeD812

First off, I love the unique bottle design! It really stands out on the perfume counter.
Second the scent is not what I expected at all.
Being a ck one fanatic I thought it would smell similar but if anything its closer to ck be.I was a little let down at first but it has grown to be one of my faves!
Its starts off sweet, almost flowery but never too much to not be unisex
The dry down smells like wet pavement after the rain mixed with clean laundry and spice.
I always get a ton of compliments on this one. In fact a lady I work with told me out of all the sprays I wear this is her favorite one and she wants to follow me around all day just to keep smelling it!

Jromas

This one starts really feminine to me and then dries down to something similar to CK Be. But with originality. Gorgeous smelling fragrance. Really love this one.

Spymaster

My liege requested that I take care of a less than desirable vassal. This fragrance worked perfectly despite the low plot power I was working with. Highly recommended.

RobbieX

A clean, light and fresh perfume with a white musk base. A lovely "laundry" vibe to it. Moderate to good longevity and silage. Yes, there is a "pebble" or "cobblestone" note there. This is a pleasant, modern and unusual fragrance from Calvin Klein. I'm glad I got this.

maryvonbilodeau

One of my favorites. It's cool and refreshing but not cold. Very "zen". But it doesn't last. It lasts for two hours then it's basically gone.

EnergeticCrab

I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said here before! My 2¢:

It doesn't seem unique at first sniff (I was almost let down when I tried my sample at home because I thought I had a mix-up at the store). But once it dries down CK2 becomes fresh and clean. To me, it's a VERY wearable, unisex, and modern. I think it's a light fragrance ideal for everyday wear and sits well on the skin. Perfect for offices and when you want a hint of something rather than a blast. Totally get the minerally smell that is like river rocks. It adds an unusual sophistication!

UPDATE: Apparently this is being discontinued which is a true shame. There are a bunch of reviewers who think this means CK2's popularity is forced, due to perceived rarity. Not so! It's a unique spin on this type of scent. There is no laundry, soap, or kitchen cleaner aspect. It is very unlike many perfumes in that regard, as they often express cleanliness as those things. After owning this one a few months, I am struck but how hard it is to find something similar. I will say, however, there is a passing resemblance to L'Artisan Parfumeur Amour Nocturne. It doesn't have the same sweetness or warmth, but there is an echo of the gunpowder note that must be from the pebbles interacting with something.

Nikkafragrance

Starts salty on me, which is actually great. Reminds me slightly of Reveal. Smells clean, super versatile, great for summer, I want it!

djbuffoon

Not bad at all. Quite good in fact. Which makes it more disappointing that, despite being a very unique and distinctive scene, it only projects for about 30 minutes. This exact composition would have benefitted greatly from an EDP edition.

TonyAKAMrClean

CK2 did it right!

If you like the original CK One and wish there were a more modern unisex scent of that nature, this is absolutely it. I won't say that they're all THAT similar, but it definitely has that trademark "CK" smell, and it accomplishes what the original did back in the 90's: A perfectly unisex clean scent. It does however have a modern twist - it's not as "in your face" as the 90's CK One.

The scent perfectly captures the smell of wet rock. Imagine the first few drops of rain on a hot sidewalk - that's the basis of this scent.

Perfect. Petrichor.

I would absolutely not mind smelling this on anyone, whether it be a guy friend, or a female love interest. It's pleasant. It's perfectly unisex. It's modern. It's clean. Mission accomplished, CK.

foreignshores

I'm not even sure if I like it yet, but I just found a 100 ml bottle on clearance at TJ Maxx for $15. I'd probably pay that much for the bottle itself! The scent is unique and I do get that sort of wet concrete note. I assumed it would be fairly linear, but while the top notes are a bit harsh--almost hairsprayish--it's settling down nicely into a soft white musk/sandalwood base. It is certainly different than most of the fragrances in my collection, so maybe it will grow on me. I don't dislike it, but I'm not sure yet if it will become part of my regular rotation. Either way, for 15 bucks how can you go wrong?!

peachparadise

Anyone else get a little bit of MAC fix+ setting spray..? So electric/fresh

dimplesg

I bought this today in the sale at superdrug for £10 (30ml size). I must admit that this is not my normal taste in scents as its very fresh and aquatic but I do actually like it. I will probably keep it in my bag to wear as an office scent as its an everyday type of office perfume. I sprayed it on my hand in superdrug at around 4pm. Its is now almost 10.30pm and I can still smell it so that is a very good sign. Well worth the sale price.

Camerynn

Ok I'm a newbie to notes, so my review will be simple.

Based on the notes described, I had high hopes for this one. Man was I let down!

A weak-smelling, cheapish hairspray is all I get from this. Super disappointed.

eden.wells

I know that people talk about wasabi notes, for this. So intriguing; I can't recollect ever getting a smell from wasabi although I love the taste of the concentrated paste. When I first spray this on, I get fresh ground black pepper, pepper and then more pepper. For me this then fades quickly into an ozone. That smell when rain hits dry earth. This might be my most loved smell in the world. This is one of those frangrances that make draws favourable comments.

invaderlark

I'm pretty sure this fragrance is being discontinued and or has been discontinued. The advertising for it has been taken away from the stores and the bottles aren't being sold. So maybe don't run online and buy it right away, but in a couple years the price will most likely go up, similarly to other discontinued Calvin Klein fragrances. Damn shame, it was a good fragrance. Terrible concept behind it though; "the fragrance for the millennials" it being somewhat weak and nonoffensive meaning it's without balls or impact leading to little controversy and or love/hate feelings about it. There are too many fragrances nowadays that are without personality and show that the person wearing it also is void of a personality as well. This one isn't exactly that, that title would fall to anything made by YSL or Gucci these days, but it certainly straddles the fence. I do give it credit for being very realistic with it's mineral note, very unique indeed and modern. If only it had more dimension to it other than that one unique note, sadly it wasn't enough to keep it afloat.

esteban747

From time to time, Calvin Klein surprises us with a good fragrance. To me they are CK One ( the ultimate and timeless unisex fragrance) and Shock ( because it is so well made and yet so underrated).
I saw ck2 and I not even bother to try it, I thought to myself: another ck boring, generic and fleeting fragrance.
But then I found a 5.4oz bottle for just $29.99, I couldn't resist the temptation.
Yes, the opening is very CK, quite generic. But then it slowly become more deep and interesting, not so linear. A fresh incense. A watery green. Reading the reviews I was laughing, "pebbles" and " cobblestone smell", give me a break! But yes, the combination of some of the notes gives an image of wet cobblestones or pebbles recently picked out of a river.
The middle and dry down are, literally, glorious.
So now CK2 may well join CKOne and Shock as one of the best CK fragrances in years.

lovetribe

finally came the substitute of my so loved crave. They are very different ok but they give the same atmosphere of the sea. wet pebbles and violet leaf are the strongest notes. I do not know the smell of wasabi and not feel the strong vetiver. the performances are outstanding. longevity beyond twelve hours and great sillage. This is a great answer to those who say that there can not be a summer without citrus scent. Mandarin in this case is minimal. 9/10 my future summer scent !!! Clean and summer scent. Different.P.s. the nose is the same of crave!!!

kylexora

I try it this afternoon. The salesgirl sprayed it on a paper strip. It smells fresh and icy, cold ice. Freezing. But then it turns to white flowers, watery and soft. Kind of Issey Miyake kind of smells. I am not a fan of watery smell, so this is not for me. I have to say that for me, it suit women more than man. Not a masterpiece, but pleasant enough for daily use. I give it 7/10.

flowerpwrz91

It would be a good idea to remind the big department stores to stock this in men AND women's sections. I have just had a shop assistant reluctant to let me test it as "this is for men. Its in the menz section, You need to try perfume from the womens secton"
I tried to say its unisex but she was adamant she was right.
As for the perfume (sorry, aftershave '-))- i loveit. Its the perfect summer scent.. theresdefinitely a bit of a light blue vibe about it. Only better.

In my opinion another masterpiece of Calvin Klein.
Will probably become a classic like ck one .

I feel like that Womanity of Thierry M. Should smell like this.
On me its figgy, salty and clean.

And I don't get it. It's a summer fragrance , but why do I have a feeling that it can be worn in front of a fire place ????
Mysterious.

A mermaid or any sea creature would DIG this fragrance!

I'm a proud owner of a big full bottle!

It is indeed an original composition. Wasabi is quite strong in the first hour. Then pebbles come in to make you feel like you were by the beach, lying on hot stones, listening to the lap of the waves, watching the sun getting ready to settle, free of everyday problems and worries. You want this moment to last forever.

periquito89

I was thinking how pebbles would smell, and I get something related a bit with Encre Noire (more whit it than with mild vetyver scents like He Woody Rocky Mountain). Anyway, vibrant and spicy like scent, quite long lasting, something different of CK One and Be, hence the proper name. Doesn't feel original nor properly common to me. Well, different and maybe an advance considering the last CK Releases, and is not bad. But I simply don't like it. I would choose what pleases my senses a lot more: CK Be.

So I tried this today at Kohl's.. smells like a bunch of chemicals soo strong & headache inducing after I got home I tried to wash it off my wrist but I could still smell it.. "sigh"

the smell is captivating in the most subtle way. You might not receive a lot of compliments but it is certain that you are smelling good when you wear this.
the only problem i have is, some days it last really long on me and some days it disappears within 2 hours ( no changes in the environment)

i would recommend to score a free shower gel and wearing it on a sunday afternoon stroll at a park. ( warm afternoon)

I like this! CK2 opens with a blast of citrus; dries down to a sour fruit, salty, celery, woody concoction. It's everything reviewers are describing it as, but you'll either find it intriguing, or will want to scrub it off. Me? Can't stop sniffing my wrist! Don't know about the "pebbles" or "wasabi" references. I agree there's something ozonic and spicy in there. (I think the power of suggestion is very strong. If these ingredients weren't listed, I wonder if people would mention pebbles and wasabi in their reviews?) Reminiscent of Womanity, but I prefer CK2.

PinkRainbow

Just got a sample of this. Very earthy and fresh. One of the ingredients is listed as pebbles, and for sure, you can smell hot stones in the sun. Great for the beach. Nice.

a summertime freshie, this one is quite pleasant....we love this release.....

The bottle is interesting to look at. The scent is not that good in my opinion. I'm not one to scrunch up my nose at anything.....ANYTHING....but come on....ck, I totally get that you are trying to be different. In a sea full of fruit and caramel, I think someone SHOULD come out with something different. You could have really went far with this, but you really played it safe. Like soapy bathwater, safe. I think people have enough "safe" perfumes. Btw, I've had this on for an hour and it's almost gone. I'm rooting for you ck, you could really do something great and different, but this isn't it. It's not offensive it's just...blah.

A few drops of Zen? I like this alot! All notes easy to find, super simple, longer lasting and more versatile than I dared hope. Got it very cheap, would never pay original price, thought I'd make it 2016 summer scent and it really is great for hot days. Wierdly I've ended up wearing it at home indoors just for myself; it's so relaxed and easy and on me the sandal actually is the central note, I like to layer it w Iso-E to enhance the woodiness.. not perfect match but nice enough. Around people I like to show off and wear something bolder but when I get home, take a shower and pull on something loose fitting, simple and not at all impressing - CK2 is my bestest friend ^^ It's there, it's positive and polite but it isn't... ..interfering ;) (Woman, 47 yo)

Opening is very fresh and nice although not strong enough but is very unique opening, then after five minutes it dries down into woody tones which remind me of lalique encre de noire but in much weaker power which doesnt suite me well and made my stomach uneasy. The longetivity is quite long on me.

If only the opening can stay through the dries downz i will definitely like it.

Fresh cold sea wind:).salty little bit ,clean and refreshing.

. I have something similar from Israeli fragrance's ,but highly recommend for hot days:)

This is my summer fragrance of this year. I loved it stright away. Fresh and pleasant. This is truly "feel good" fragrance. I am quite surprised to see it on a men section in some shops. I would say it is rather feminine scent.. or at least unisex. Anyway I love it, I wear it and I am not bored of it. It feel so fresh, so I feel fresh.

miza norizan

why is woody is listed as its notes? i dont understand. i can only detect aquatic-sweet fragrance on it. in fact, it is so sweet-smelling that i use it to layer my other CK fragrance that is too woody for my liking, euphoria and reveal.

and i can't get over that this is supposed to be 2016 creation, but i know i have smell this somewhere. maybe it is too similar with davidoff cool water for woman.

i like this fragrance, might consider to buy full size so that i can layer it with either euphoria or reveal to tame down their woody notes.

fresh_scents

I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It's both fresh and pleasant, but still not worth the $33.00 price (FragranceNet) for a 3.4 oz bottle.

I'm really happy with this perfume, great vibe and still discrete enough for the office !
It was hard for me to find the right fragrance because my fiancé is very picky (he doesn't like jasmine, musk, grapefruit, sweet fragrances, peppery fragrances, you name it !). Finaally we came across this one (I was not found of the bottle, but I was so tired checking fragrances that it was no more a parameter in our choice).
