Eternity Intense by Calvin Klein is a Floral fragrance for women. Eternity Intense was launched in 2016. Top notes are Orris, Watery Notes and Bergamot; middle notes are Iris, Osmanthus and Rose; base notes are Vanilla, Musk and Sandalwood.

Calvin Klein's Eternity (1988) and Eternity for Men (1989), symbols of eternal love and romantic relationships, will receive new intensive reinterpretations Eternity Intense and Eternity for Men Intense in December 2016. The new fragrances are made with a touch of "sensual and rare" iris flower. The Eternity Intense duo represents "love that has turned into something more powerful - a passionate and unbreakable connection."

Eternity Intense for women reportedly intensifies the opulent floral composition of the originals, with energetic aquatic and additional floral notes. Iris gives it elegance and power, laid on the warm base of vanilla.

Model Christy Turlington and her husband Ed Burns are chosen again to represent the line. Eternity Intense is available as a 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

This is more of a note-to-self rather than a review.

Yes, it’s synthetic and cheap-smelling compared to my go-to fragrances, but lipstick usually smells synthetic anyway so I don’t mind.
I reach for this when I’m in the mood for a (mostly linear) makeup/lipstick scent that has prominent iris and orris notes, but doesn’t have much complexity or “sophistication” going on -I use Lipstick Rose for that. This smells like a beautiful woman getting ready for an occasion with all of her makeup open and spread on her vanity. When I first got this, I did get the weird banana scent; now it’s been replaced with a bright albeit slightly synthetic raspberry. For the price, this is a lovely option to scratch that makeup scent itch.
It smells nothing like OG Eternity and it makes no sense as a flanker, probably why it got discontinued which is a shame, as this is much more interesting than that entire lineup.

The original Eternity was my signature scent in the 90s, and this is a deeper yet more playful iteration. The opening was quite similar to the original, but once the aquatic note dissipates and the base notes unveil is when this one really shines. It is sweeter, and the dry down is beautiful, with the osmanthus shining through.

Msala140

A creamy , buttery orris in the opening that is soft and settles into a beautiful makeup-y iris . I like that it’s not too sweet , and on my skin I get mainly a make up scent. Wish it projected more but it’s beautiful and worth it for the cheap price .

I wore this to bed last night, and whoa! Iris galore! But it's not sickly sweet, and it has an intense chocolate note along with lots of lovely orris root. I can't believe how good this is, and I think it's a pity that it was discontinued. I find it much more interesting than any other recent Calvin Klein scents that I can recall. It probably wasn't the best bedtime scent because it didn't seem to fade away, as I expected--it intensified over hours into a delectable iris-chocolate-rose-vanilla sandalwood concotion. It's a real trip, and it seems to behave nicely on my skin (which I prepped beforehand with unscented body lotion, contributing to the longevity, I'm sure). I will buy another, bigger bottle if the price is right. I wish they would just rerelease this under a different name since it smells nothing like Eternity or any other CK fragrance I can think of.

As others have noticed, it has a pronounced makeup-powder scent, like old-timey luxury makeup, with an almost photorealistic "lipstick rose" effect, only it's suffused with iris. It reminds me a tiny bit of my beloved Misia because it's such a good makeup smell, but it's a lot weirder. I see why it's listed as being comparable to Alien--so many of my favorite scents are--but that one is all about the jasmine, and this one lets the iris dominate (along with the similar, more powdery orris). I don't think I have anything else in my collection that carries quite such a Golden Age Hollywood face powder vibe. Just to indulge in some mild anachronism here, I could imagine Rita Hayworth wearing this, but I could also imagine Jeanne Moreau or Simone Signoret wearing it. To me it smells glamorous and melancholy, like a rainy spring day in Paris. It smells like a deep violet dusk. Spectacular!

Coriemulvey

My bottle no longer has that bruised banana smell. Guess it has to sit for it to turn lovely. The orris comes through nicely.. this would be great on a man too

Rjhuggi

It would be a love for me if it lasted longer.

drugstore classics

I cannot wear the original Eternity. Too aquatic. But these notes look just lovely and I adore a good iris. So I was pleased to see Sephora carrying such a promising looking flanker. Could this be the Eternity for me?

NO!

I want to add that it is an excellent fragrance. The notes are strong and have good sillage and smell feminine, expensive, and modern. It is not particularly unique, nor do I smell iris, but that's non-essential. As a fragrance it is quite presentable and even a good value considering the poor sillage and longevity of many a brand name release.

But.

Do not attempt to wear this thinking that it has no aquatic nature. I don't smell a 'watery note', but the aroma chemical 'calone' is here in abundance. It reeks on me, as 'calone' always has. No complaints on the right skin, obviously.

One note: I'm rather surprised to see these notes listed. I almost smelled the sweet orange blossom/pear note so popular right now with a hint of purple (the elusive iris?!) rather than anything else. But regardless, this is a decent and powerful perfume. ONE spray lasted long past 3 doses of hand sani...

Sanrio

A familiar lipstick-y waxiness and powdery cold raspberries open up this fragrance. Noting the comparisons to my much grieved Lipstick On, I was excited for it to unfold on my skin. So I waited and waited for the opening to blossom into a warm, powdery iris and vanilla.

It did not.

It simply weakened until it vanished.

Air of Grace

This is my daughter’s perfume ( given to her by an admirer) and I just tried it at her house .

I’m a bit spoilt being a niche perfumer lover so on first blast, all I thought was synthetic , sweet vanilla notes .

Very girlie based on the sweet vanilla notes yet mature at the same with the powdery , Orris notes .

I find a lot of mass produced designer/ performers/ cosmetics companies manufactured perfumes just don’t smell like quality ingredients .

Saying that , it’s a pretty scent and I can see it’s popularity.

meganlamode

I blind bought a 1oz bottle of this because I recently discovered I love lipstick and makeup scents, and this was a cheap find. The opening isn't the best - I dislike watery notes, and mixed with the orris, it's a bit too sharp and gives off wet cardboard vibes. But the water dissipates quickly and a wonderful lipstick scent emerges. I appreciate the addition of the osmanthus note in contrast to the raspberry that's often added to lipstick fragrances - this makes Eternity Intense softer and not so tangy. I wouldn't call it powdery - it's not even comparable to perfumes like Valentina Poudre or Putain des Palaces, which I also enjoy - and I don't get any Play-doh or banana like some others have smelled. To me, it's a soft, slightly sweet lipstick scent, and since that's what I was hoping for, it's a keeper!

EDIT: When I wore this the other day, I realized I smelled like Dr. Pepper in the absolute best way possible. This definitely got sweeter with some time, but I'm not mad about it at all!

Gyps

My first whiff of this was really off putting to my nose. A strong chemical smell that was just awful. I’ve allowed it to dry down and it’s ok I suppose. Nothing to write home about and I don’t know if I can stand putting myself through the initial blast long term. Not a safe blind buy at all. For some reason it reminds me of the colour purple. Strange scent.

Edit: The dry down is actually nice. Soft, powdery & musky. You wouldn’t know it’s the same perfume compared to the initial blast. Not long lasting or strong.

Edit: Just came back to it again and no, that opening is just nasty. I’ll be giving this one away. It’s not worth me keeping it. Really disgusting olfactory experience for me.

katarinamalik

Sweet and a bit powdery scent with a hint of ripe and dried autumn fruits. Reminds me of the aesthetics I discovered and adopted when I was 18. Comfortable yet excting and poetic evenings at a conservatory while practicing piano. Warm purple colours of sunsets in a city. A fuzzy sweater. Maple shedding the yellow leaves on the street in front of my school. Bohemian and decadent, I was savoring the moments and seizing the days like there was no tomorrow 🙂

genericjanedoe

A blind buy and an interesting addition to the CK Eternity family. The first hit I get overwhelmingly is overripe plum, with strong undertones that took me a hot minute to recognise what I can only describe as " Eau De Play Doh".

This was quickly followed by Parma violets with hints of dark chocolate and this continued throughout as a top note. The overall impression I get is of some sort of thick syrupy melange that dries down into the sort of vanilla tobacco that an old boss used to puff on in his pipe back in the days when smoking was allowed in offices.

Sounds terrible but Eternity Intense is not unwearable - pleasant enough and not displaying enough sillage to offend others around you. If anything, sillage is almost non-existent from the get-go - I have to clamp my nose over my wrist to smell it almost as soon as I've sprayed it .

I enjoy a warm skin scent, which I suspect this one will turn out to be, but right now I'm unconvinced about it as a whole. I may grow to like it, but there is a bit too much vanilla in it for me to totally fall in love with right now.

Update: Three hours later and the vanilla has vanished. I am left with Parma violets and similar chalky sweets - a rather pretty skin scent only discoverable by others if they are in close contact with you.

viktorijavla

Got it because of Yana from The Scented and it's much better than Lipstick Fever. Smells like a modernized powdery iris. Has a woody and clean smelling drydown.
BTW, I don't get any banana smell

cleo cupcake

Of course this bears no relation to the original at all but it's a great perfume on its own merit. The opening has one of the most realistic pear notes I have ever smelled. It captures the essence of a perfectly ripe pear - without any syrup on it. Then comes the lovely violet and smooth creamy iris. Again no added sugar - it's much more a classic fragrance. It's quite cold until the very end of the drydown when the warmer earthy base develops. The lack of sweetness might put some people off but if you want a break from 'sugar rush' fragrance this is perfect. Personally I love it - especially for Spring and Autumn. Good sillage and very long lasting.

Miasha

I have been waiting a few weeks now, to get this from the mail. Blind buy, of course, as usual... 🙄 I bought it, because I have heard from so many, that it resembles Lipstick On from MMM Replica. Not really... I have
Lipstick On, and love it so much. Was so happy at the thought of having a dupe for that one, since it is discontinued. But this is unfortunately nothing like it. To me, it is almost a little wimpy. Still, it is a nice fragrance for someone who like soft fragrances, a little bit fresh. I like both soft and fresh fragrances as well, but not this one, so much. I suspect and hope that my best friend would like this, so I will give it to her as a birthday present.
It will be a very good unoffensive random
every-or-any-day fragrance.
I think it was quite pricey for such a soft fragrance, but that was probably because it is not so easy to find anymore. But I think - if my friend likes it, the money will be well spent on her. Because she's worth it.

P.S. And I do not agree that it is powdery at all. To me, first it is too cold and sharp, and then it dries down to something nicer and rounder. With a sillage of one inch from my wrist. Too bad it is not Play-Doh, cherry chapstick and soft makeup, lasting all day, like Lipstick On.

Edit, a few hours later: Having read about some individuals here, who sensed a touch of banana - I began to feel that too. Banana jam, to be precise. So I started to like it better, accepting that it is not a dupe for Lipstick On. I realized that I also can layer it with some ylang-ylang fragrance, or some spicy tropical, to enhance that effect.
So I took a shower, oversprayed this one happily and liberally, and then added a small touch of Le Couvent Aqua Nymphae on each wrist. Now I can sleep well, and dream nice dreams about a caribbean island. 😊
No more bad consciense about wasted money. And I will give my best friend something else, that I actually KNOW she will like.

Aglopez09

the initial spray made me giggle. It reminded me of a banana shake. That banana scent lingered for a good half hour. then the perfume transformed. it is a " cuddle weather" type of perfume. It does remind me of other lipstick-like perfumes, but this stands good on its own. It is not as sweet as lipstick fever, but the powdery makeup accord is present. I would consider buying this if I found it for cheap!

I had bought a 1oz bottle of this perfume awhile ago. I liked it, but it just either wasn’t my vibe or the right time of year, so I never wore it. One day my 13 year old daughter and I were going through my fragrance collection and she fell in love with this! Previously the only one of my perfumes she ever wore was Hypnotic Poison, but she started wearing Eternity Intense every day, and it smelled wonderful on her! It was fresh and youthful and it just fit her somehow, I ended up giving it to her, as it is now “her scent”. I recently noticed that she was running low, so I ordered her a 3.4oz bottle. I just received it in the mail today and sprayed it on my arm to test it out and it smelled so off to me, I thought I had got a bottle that might have gone bad. I went and grabbed her other bottle and sprayed it on my other arm to test the difference, BUT to my surprise, it smelled the exact same!! I don’t know if it is just the way it works with my body chemistry, or maybe my nose is off, but I can’t believe the difference in the scent on my daughter compared to myself.

She has been told by a few different people that she smells like Dr. Pepper, which is funny because that is her favorite soda. And I can see that when she wears it now that it’s been pointed out
When I sprayed it on my skin it has a weird cardboard scent.
I don’t know what the point of this review is, since I’m not really talking about the notes in this fragrance. I guess just to talk about how different scents smell different to everybody and reacts differently to a persons body chemistry.
I was going to wait to give this new bottle to my daughter for her birthday, but now I’m going to have to have her test it just to make sure it hasn’t gone off so I will be able to return it if it is bad.

dualaokto

The first time i sprayed it, ughhh! I thought i was struck by strong chemical blast of artificial iris and violet. I waited for a couple of minutes, then i smell some overdoing berries. So lipsticky, syrupy, and almost head-aching. But of course i gave it a chance and glad that i did it!

It became more velvety and elegant after around 20 mins. It has seductive and mysterious vibes in it. The drydown is lipsticky, deep and powdery iris, violet, with strong hint of berries even though they are not in the notes list. Just beware not wearing this in a hot humid day, or otherwise you might kill the human next to you.

I tried this at the store and I liked it enough to buy a full sized bottle online; but the bottle I got was weak and similar to other reviews where the scent seemed nonexistent after a few minutes. I used to own Eternity, and this "Intense" version was an Iris bodyspray vs. how much sillage Eternity has when first sprayed. I was expecting a stronger lipstick scent based on what I read, watched on YouTube, then smelled at the store. I expected this perfume to have a much higher projection, sillage, and performance that matched the current reformulated original version. Oh well, it will go on my everyday work/inoffensive scents shelf. The scent does linger on but weakly for at least 5 hours running errands on a sunny morning if that helps. I have smelled Lipstick on and it's similar (just vintage lipstick), but I would recommend more powerful flowery makeup/lipstick scents in this order: Red Door edt, Fred Hayman's Touch, Charlie Red, and the original version of Gloria Vanderbilt. I'm not into spending much on perfumes with heavy violet notes that still smell like makeup, since it reminds me of Violet cologne in Miami, which I enjoy but that scent is normally smelled in my environment.

cmmarti3

This is one of those cases where the flanker is, for me, so much better than the original. This has the original Eternity DNA, but instead of a blast of white florals, this opens up with a subdued, powdery iris, some soft amber notes, and slowly begins to morph into a beautiful sandalwood dry down that eventually gives way to hints of dark chocolate. For me, this is the epitome of fall, but I can see wearing this in any season. It's relaxing, subdued, subtle, powdery and beautiful.

mirrorghost

this smells just like lipstick at first with a carrot-y iris/orris. after 5 or so minutes, i get the osmanthus, rose and vanilla-adding a fruity-floral aspect to the lipstick note. it dries down to a creamy osmanthus-vanilla. such a pretty perfume, i can't wait to try this in spring.

msajoy

givenchy l'ange noir on budget, if you love powdery iris n lipstick, you need to try this :) amazing fragrance
10/10

lovealwaysalisa

I wanted to like this, but on me this reminds me of the way a wooden popsicle stick smells after you eat all the popsicle off of it. Quite woody, some sweetness, and powdery. The drydown is great but I can't get over the popsicle wood smell, so it is leaving my collection.

не препоръчвам да търсите общо с нощния ангел на Живанши. ако харесвате ириса на монтал и подобни, ще ви допадне

wlmyer2

The orris is the main note and then it settles to a woody musk scent. Very lovely, I just wish the iris was more present. This scent is super woody with very little sweetness, which I like.

virna.medina

Love this. This takes me back to the 90s. I had Insolence from Guerlain and they do share the same DNA, a powdery iris and violet scent. I am buying the full bottle as soon as I finish the sample. anyway... I just have to comment on the bottle: it is totally ugly and does not represent the juice very well.
====
update: I am not getting the full bottle of this, I realize I only want the iris note without the lipstick scent, so I will try out other fragrance with similar vibe. Been eyeing Insolence by Guerlain.

emerson10

As an orris/iris fiend, I saw this was avail on fragrancenet for $25 and jumped at the opportunity... I've already rehomed it. It's not that I didn't like it, I just didn't love it. Where I wanted it to go more orris/iris, it went more vanilla. Feels more in line with Black Opium than it does Lipstick On. I def get that lipsticky note in the initial spray -- i mean like literally first 2 mins of wear, but it fades and I am left with a very designer gourmand-type smell; not one I dislike, just nothing noteworthy.

AjaBlue

If you are looking for an inexpensive dupe for Replica's Lipstick On, look no further. This is extremely close. I love it. So glad I've listened to Shana J, my number one fragrance reviewer on YT. She has great taste! Love this one. Beautiful Iris scent. I also get the slightest hint of tobacco in the background.

Skinterpreter

It was a blind buy because I love powdery scents and I love iris. This caught my attention because of the make-up/make-up bag/lipstick scent comparison. I have been really into baby powder/sweet, soapy talc powder perfumes with iris being a prominent note in most of those, but recently I decided to explore iris in different forms and so I purchased this, as well as Prada Infusion d'Iris. With Eternity Intense, I can definitely see why some people mention that lipsticky/makeup scent in relation to that, I can definitely smell it. :) But it's also fruity (someone mentioned bananas/berries there and I can only agree with that). Very nice fragrance, not a typical drugstore floral, nor an entirely sweet smell. :) It also shares certain similarity with Infusion d'Iris (obviously becaue of that iris note that reminds me slightly of pencil shavings, too). Very affordable and good for daily wear.

ValdiMiroMercury

It's an amazing fragrance. It's about orris root, some fruits. I like it and recommend it to you.

ViouAmara

OMG, first a bunch of candied violets, than baby food smashed bananas (panade, bledine), then tons of palpable iris to urgently affirm we’re still pretending to be adults. The candle waxy iris is long, comforting and absolutely delicious. This stuff is addictive. Fist compliments got after only 15 minutes and in my country people aren’t often mentioning your parfum at all. I want one or two back up bottles right now.

Jaxie23

Blind Buy not bad for the price however I don't expect I will wear it much.Reminds me of Guerlain Insolence or L'instant Magic.

Dry down smells like regular Eternity to me just softer. Sweet and powdery Eternity not bad for the price.

TexasOrangeBlossom

I expected to like this one, but I can’t say I do. Something about it reminds me of banana moon pies. Sweet fake banana smell, vanilla laced marshmallow, and soft (stale) graham cracker. It’s both powdery and waxy. I’m mentally being taken back to my childhood. As it dries down, I find it more palatable in some aspects, but the parts I like are too soft in dry down and I have a tough time getting past the intro. Maybe I will learn to love it. Doubtful, but I like a challenge.
Update: Performance is disappointing. The iris is so soft on me that I feel it doesn’t live up to the 1st place listing in the accords listing on here. Maybe it’s just me. Very disappointing because those it works for have raved about how gorgeous it is. Unfortunately, I can see why this one was discontinued.

Oh my God! This perfume is divine! I simply love the iris, it is one of my favorite flowers. It smells so nice, it's so well made, a little creamy... a must have for Iris lovers like me. It smells like a niche perfume. I'm so glad I got a big bottle. I found out about it from Angel Lately's YT channel. So thank you Angel! You need this in your life, believe me.

Farangismua

I only bought because one of the perfume blogger said it smells like bananas. Honestly for the price Im surprise its good. Not omg good but good enough to have all the combinations to make this perfume stand out. Silliage and longevity is great. There is the green bananas smell in it but the powder kills me. I dont prefer powdery scents in my perfume I prefer smoother! But people might like it. 6/10

floralscents88

I blind bought this because i love powdery floral scents and because of some reviews here that they can smell iris in this. I have a lot of perfumes with iris in it. Yes it is definitely powdery but all I can smell this hot spring day is a powdery sweet type of vanilla smell. one spray on my wrist. I can't smell the "banana smell" a lot of the reviewers here were talking about. I could not even smell any flowers. on me it is just sweet powdery vanilla. I have the original eternity and theres nothing similar between them. they are totally different from each other. I'll try again at some point and update.

Katou117

Oufff I almost put a vote for "I hate" in the first few minutes after the first spray because it was ohhhh! Green banana peel, yuck! But I waited about 15 or 20 minutes (maybe more) and the smell of green banana gives way to a nice powdery smell of iris and other flowers and vanilla. Let's say it gets better over time but I still struggle with the first half hour, this period is almost painful but it'snice after that. Finally I think I will keep it but certainly I don't like the beginning at all but the phases are very distinct and it changes a lot during drying. A very changeable fragrance that's for sure. Doesn't end as it looks from the start and that's a good thing.

Dinameri

Big iris lover here, and in my quest to collect all of the best irises, I thankfully stumbled onto this lovely. The quality here far outweighs it's price. Eternity Intense is beautiful, deep and cool, with iris in the spotlight throughout. For me, it's smoothness and depth blows right past the sharper Prada Infusion d'Iris, and Commodity Orris seems thin and cheap now in comparison. I prefer it over the more candied iris of Bvlgari Iris d'Or, and consider it on par with my favorite irises, Houbigant Iris des Champ and Dior Homme Intense. Maybe the most successful blind buy I've ever made.

Millicake88

In love with this Eternity... initial spray I got Longan fruits skin and all. Longan is a popular south east Asia fruit with brown skin and white fleshy meat similar to lychee. E.I is simi sweet and earthy, powdery and so sheer. You can say it's smells like cosmetic powder but I prefer to go the yummy route 😋 This fragrance is really soft 2 full blast and barely a skin scent. I happen to love Longan and it's natural smell so I don't mind. Plus this is so cheap I can go trigger happy 😍

Juma

OMG, another make-up bag fragrance, suedish powdery scent. Pure love on my skin.
It has some sweetnes of overrippe fruits but tammed down with powdery suede note. Comforting etheral beauty.
I would never think it's Calvin Klein Eternity flanker.
I recommend to test to all who love scent of make-up/ lipstick.

Annabear

A bargain priced beauty - I love it and I am not a fan of overly sweet fragrances. However, this is sweet in a powdery, ethereal cosmetic vibe kind of way. I think it depends on whose skin it’s on, but there is a similarity between Eternity Intense and Chloe Love.
Great every day option and a comforting bed time scent.

JustSimpleThings

Am I the only one who thinks that this smells like baby powder (aka talc)?
Not that that's bad, but I wish someone had mentioned that! I was looking for a Love, Chloe by Chloe - sort of powdery cosmetic scent... and to me, this just isn't it. This is much more demure, very innnocent powder, nothing womanly or sexy in this, to my nose. :/

Edit:
After a few months of owning it.. it has definitely grown on me. I use it as a workplace scent, it makes me feel confident and fresh.
This is a really hard scent to describe but on my skin I would say this is: very strong osmanthus opening but that goes away in 20 minutes and then I'm left with powdery human skin scent. It's bizarre!

Edit2: I totally changed my mind about this perfume, I love it now! I wear it a a bedtime scent usually because I find it very comforting: it's an iris/orris and rose 🌹 powder cloud ☁️🤍😍 ! The 'aquatic' facet adds interest, makes the scent airy (so the powder doesn't become too heavy/ cloying, which is great.)
I think it too me time to learn to appreciate this scent because it is so unusual. But yeah, definitely love it now! 🥰🤍🤍🤍

lmwimsatt

This smells just like green bananas, just how I like them! I see that its considered powdery, so that must be in the drydown. I just sprayed this and I smell nothing close to powdery. Sometimes iris scents can start off very fruity and then dry down to powdery, so time will tell

15 min later, I'm starting to smell powdery bananas. I'm liking this. I enjoy perfumes that change

vluvsperf

I jsut received this fragrance from FragranceX. OMG This fragragrance smells so bad. its like wearing a lint sheet and febreze plug in on my arm. Its not lovely., the scent is not something natural. It smells synthetic. I had an idea about what this would smell like and it does not. I will be returning it.

mevans

This is really well done. I don't have a lot of perfumes with iris that I can think of and this fragrance is very unique. It has a fruity scent, at first I thought cherry but it could equally seem like plum or grape. It's sweet and just a bit tart with bergamot. Vanilla definitely and I get a bit of the musky sandalwood base. It's so good!

UnearthlyApothecary

Holy hell! How can this have anything to do with the original Eternity which happens to be one of the very few scents that disgusts me so badly one whiff triggers my gag reflex? This shouldn’t be a flanker, it should have been released as a stand alone scent. It’s one of the very best cosmetic iris scents I’ve ever smelled. I think it tops Dior Homme for me. Not too sweet, really only a mere hint of sweetness. Intense is simply strong iris lipstick/ powder. Absolutely fabulous. The silage isn’t too strong but it’s not weak either. I just hope the longevity is good.

tony5596

As a Iris lover, I'm willing to blind buy almost any fragrance with Iris in it, and that was the case with Eternity Intense.
I'm shocked that i haven't discovered this fragrance sooner as much as I'm on here browsing for another fragrance to fall in love with.

So about the scent! Upon the first spray, i get a sharp sweet Iris, but it's not harsh to the nose. It's almost candy like, but not in a juvenile way. As it settles, the Iris softens and the vanilla kicks in. As it dries down, the Iris and vanilla is still detectable, but it's accompanied by a hint of sandalwood, which i can barely smell. I can't detect the other notes listed and that's totally fine because the Iris is so amazing in this fragrance. This sweet-tart Iris note reminds me so much of the Iris in The Only One by Dolce & Gabbana. As far as performance, it's very moderate. It's starts out strong in sillage and becomes a skin scent after a good 4+ hours.

I recommend that Iris lovers give this a try.

Just received this and have to agree with reviewer before me ... all I get is PEAR ... a lot of pear !! It does quiet down a bit but that's mostly all I get. Have not worn it out for a full day yet so cannot speak for its longevity. Will update my review later on.

It's not listed in the pyramid and hence not used in this fragrance probably, and I may be the only one sensing it, but I'm gonna write it nevertheless... what I feel in the opening very strongly is... the pear. A lovely one btw. Sort of the one with which Poirier d'un Soir by Miller Harris starts. It's here for about 10 minutes and then it fades. This is when other notes (normal ones:D) start to surface. Absolutely intoxicating iris flower and orris. At the end it settles down to a cosy musk and sandalwood with a hint of vanilla. It does smell niche and it's not a crowd-pleaser imho. I'm so glad I added it to my collection. Blind buy at the TK Maxx and absolutely worth it!

mypersonalharmonics

Lovely perfume, a dry iris with a lot of make up powdery notes, chic and easy to wear. Reasonably priced while it smells way more niche.

Not an Eternity kind of perfume by any means, but who cares. I am tired of trying to explain marketing choices. This could be called Serenity or Sincerity or Protection and it would work just fine.
I'm giving ideas here people! Ha, I would wear sth called Protection. We all need it.

olol

It smells exactly like Williams pears !!!
Unless i own a fake edp !!!

EmHamburg

What a hidden gem, I love it! So misterious, powdery, leathery, cozy and sensual. It has a clean laundry effect but also a dark sensual side. Give it a try, even if you dislike eternity.

katemax

I like this upon the dry down. It's a lovely orris heavy fragrance which is of the same vein as Jo Malone orris and sandal.

ivadim

Мега усилена база на bois d'iris the different company

Karineabdel

On me, it smells poire William (thé alcool at the pear !)

zhiang0113

This opens with an unconventional combination of clear watery notes and powdery iris. Unfortunately, on my skin, this comes off as plasticky, as others have mentioned.

The watery notes fade away in a few minutes and leave behind a sweet vanilla-iris combo. The drydown is pleasant enough, but the opening isn't great imo.

idolinam

these perfumes are really extraordinary. every time I whispered a hand that is breathed, I would feel a different aroma, and I like it more and more. even though the first hunch is poor for me, later comes a more delicious aroma. , so, this perfume is already in my collection

Mooniq

I love Iris and Orris. And here I get Orris, bergamott and Iris. First minute it was all about playdoo-plastic-smell, but after 8-10 minutes I got Orris and Bergamott. A come-and-hug-me-scent. Lovely indeed. For a daring man I say - try it, if you're into orris-scents. I like it alot. Not in your-face-strong, more like a teasing ghost circeling around you.

louiee

OMG the powder in this one ...
The Iris note smells almost like candied violets...
Eternity Intense I adore you.
Heavy powdery, feminine and beautiful Iris, followed by orris, vanilla and musk.
Clean, comforting and very sexy in a non screaming way...
The beginning is very out there and the drydown is more subtle.
Classy, modern and elegant.
Longevity and silage is average.

fyrewoman

I find absolutely nothing aquatic about this fragrance.

Wearing Eternity Intense brings to mind kissing a woman wearing a thick coat of face powder & vintage lipstick who has been heavily drinking both red wine and whiskey all night.

damienthoresson

Ooooh, I love this one! Reminds me of Guerlain and Chanel at the same time! Very, very elegant! Eternity? No... not at all. Class? You bet! Iris for the GAWDS, honey.

So disappointed once again. I started wearing Eternity for women back in 1990 or maybe a little before and it was the best smell humanly possible. Years later I bought a new bottle and it was not at all the same as I remembered it. I figured out what was missing mostly was the green notes that made it so beautiful back then. It's as if they took everything great out of Eternity and left us with some shell just enough to remember what it used to smell like for a second. The Vintage eternity also lasted all day long. What they're selling now as eternity doesn't last an hour. Anyway enough complaining but I've been on a mission for a long time to find something that smells like it. I thought I was going to get lucky with this. Why not bring back real eternity and call it eternity intense? Makes perfect sense. Of course that's not what they did. I don't understand. Where has the Beautiful special eternity gone? And since they know that they have destroyed what once was a beautiful perfume why would they not attempt to bring it back even as one of the flankers? I bet it's not possible to find one single person that would prefer the fake eternity that they're selling now over the real thing that they put out in the late 80s. If anybody knows of any of these Calvin Klein fragrances that resembles real actual eternity please tell me what that is.

I picked up a 1oz at Marshalls for a good price, and I wish I would have bought the bigger bottle they had because I really like it! Its earthy and sweet. It is powdery, but in a good way. This is one I suggest smelling for yourself. My Husband and I liked this so much we wanted to get the Eternity Intense for Men, but when we smelled it we didn't prefer it. I think we should try it again, because we were sampling too many fragrances that day. This reminds me of the "invent your scent" collection The Body Shop had in the early 2000's. They had 8 different fragrances, and you picked two and sprayed them together to make up your own signature. What two it was is kind of moot, because they discontinued it, so hopefully CK doesn't do away with the Intense any time soon. Try it, hopefully it works for you.
*****UPDATE 7/3/18****** Just got a bottle of Lacoste Natural and it smells like a sport version of CK Eternity Intense in the dry down. CK Eternity Intense has become one of my favorite fragrances, and my Husband also loves it! I think its pretty unique and I haven't smelled it on anyone else.

cedar_lea

Wow. I typically have trouble wearing iris, and most Calvin Klein scents don't agree with me, but this is actually pretty good.

This opens with osmanthus and doll skin musk. The vanilla is creamy and ever-present and keeps the iris and orris from going powdery and soapy as my skin likes it to do. Occasionally there is a fresh bergamont note or sweet sandalwood. There is a candy sweetness that comes and goes.

This is fascinating and I will definitely be playing with it in the future.

mulberryletter23

After applying from my decant, I had to run right here to figure out if I had one from a really old bottle, etc. It appears the consensus is this is an odd one, so here's my take from my sample.

The first two minutes were dead on for my grandfather's barn -- which is actually a scent I crave, but did NOT expect to find in a Calvin Klein release. Before you get too afraid, his barn was full of old hay and alfalfa (a very fragrant, sweet grass), dust and never had animals in it. In the first minute or so, blam, there's the dust and hay if you sniff hard enough. Then it vanishes as the alcohol fades and the iris and vanilla slowly turn up. There's a point where it seems like there's no scent at all between the hay and the iris/vanilla. Just wait. It'll get there. When it does, it's fine. It's nothing special, not necessarily worth the trek through the barn unless you dig that sort of thing.

Needless to say, this is not the scent you spritz on *just* before your big job interview. (Unless it's at a farm supply store.)

I can't speak to a comparison to Le Fin Du Monde, but I can see comparing this to a creation of Etat Libre d'Orange. The level of experimentation is way beyond the usual safe zone of Calvin Klein. I'm surprised this made it past all the marketing focus groups, etc., that it likely had to go through and really wonder if there isn't some chemical "time bomb" of sorts that turned or altered before all the bottles made it into the distribution network. But that is just a *completely uneducated* guess.

kristamb

I really like this one. Feminine but not too flowery or fruity. This reminds me of something I already have though...Avon Attraction. This is kind of like a better blended version of the Avon perfume. I like it though!!! It is sweet and woody and with a bit of musk. I probably won't buy this one since I have Avon's version, but this one is really pretty :)Floral is the second listed note for this, but I don't get very much floral out of this at all...

DarlingNikki

Now for something different! This smells like the inside of a suede purse with lipstick, face powder, a used mini bottle of vodka and a travel tin of cocoa butter all rolled into one warm, unusual fragrance. Not for me in the least, but this smells so different and sophisticated, I might be willing to give the sample a try on skin (I smelled it off a clean cotton pad to get a general gist of it).

I love the original eternity for women, but it's winter here in Australia at the moment, and I think it's a summer fragrance.
I tested Eternity Imtense today amd I really liked it very much. It is soft, powdery, classy and a bit different. It lasted about 4 hours and I'm happy with that as it's inexpensive from My Beauty Spot.
I was wondering if it would layer well with the original eternity?? What does everyone else think?

PocketRocket

After wearing this more, it gives an illusion that's it's an EDP. It's heady without going cloying. It has some weight and you'd expect it to stick around. Only, it doesn't. After the 4 to 6 hours mark this will fade. Granted I live in a hot and humid country but this one definitely performs like a cologne or EDT. It's a shame because it is a gorgeous scent. I still enjoy it though.

bananas

This is just such a lovely warm comforting fragrance to me.
Not 'screechy' sharp or sickening sweet, it is definitely a skin scent with my body chemistry.

Love the opening & it's transition to the heart & base notes is pretty swift...I wish the longevity was there & am disappointed about the misleading 'intense' sale pitch.

It probably needs just one or two more notes/chemicals to bring it more to life & an intense level, but all the same, it is gorgeous & I just have to keep reapplying throughout the day to get my 'fix' of this scent.

It is not in the slightest bit related to the original & they could have called it something else entirely new.
Not as unique as REVEAL, but still something different than other current releases out there, especially for lovers of iris/violet powdery freshness with underlying creamy vanilla.
All in all, a beautiful wearable scent, for all seasons, all times of the day.

PocketRocket

Chocolaty, plummy with a slight coffee aroma. I know this is supposed to be Iris + Orris + Vanilla but I get a toned-down boozy quality that may taste like coffee and chocolate.
This is of the night but not dark, midnight or pitch black. It has a dusky quality that I enjoy.
I've noticed how young perfume users will recoil but experienced fragheads will like this or at least acknowledge its uniqueness.
Probably underrated.
This isn't a sledgehammer. It has average longevity and amazing initial sillage that will taper down.
I didn't care for the male version.

Eternity intense

Tried again today on a pulse point not layered.

What notes are in the top and heart? Tell me please.

I get straight alcohol, not as in the cheapie frags, but actual vodka, that taste of a vodka shot, not the burning, the flavour.

The end notes are what I would like the scent to be, then and only then do I get the main accords.

Try before you buy, not safe blind buy

dglightblue

Bug spray opening, I thought yuck straight off, it was like a plastic.
But now is woody, warm, dark vanilla, powdery, yeah not bad

So... medicinal opening perhaps, with woody overtones, I layered it with eternity now just because it was on the same shelf in the shop, that helped to lift it.
Not a pretty girly or intense light sort.
If you're exploring woodsy, or medicinal but not huge sillege sorts, check it out.

Hope that helps

Got to test this today, on paper and skin. It was rather nice on paper first, definitely got a lovely iris/orris root powder scent. Sprayed on my skin (one spray to wrist), it unfortunately fell short of expectations - mostly synthetic vanilla and 'water'. Put me in mind of sunscreen, beach etc. Longevity and projection are quite good - I could smell it without lifting my arm to my face for about 4 or so hours.

Sammi_co

Tried it today. I collect the eternity line so I've been waiting for this very impatiently. The sales assistant past me a square of paper with a spray on it and it smelt unusual but all I could smell was the paper. I applied it to the back of my hand and all I could smell was the paper again. Obviously that wasn't the paper I was smelling. I was getting a deep warm sweet caramelly vanilla all hidden under a starchy paper smell. I was very disappointed. "Different" the sales assistant commented. I had to agree. I've nothing papery in my collection. Feeling deflated I returned to work where one co worker hated it and the other loved it. I wanted to love it too but it just wasn't happening.
An hour or so later I reached up to scratch my face and got the most beautiful soft vanilla fragrance, which some 4 hours later still remains, having withstood several hand washes.
So it seems maybe I do love it after all.

trucalling

To my surprise, I am in love with this! The first moment of this scent are like a soft, sweet tide taking me. :) All I can say is for me this fragrance is a total feel-good perfume. Sweet and strong and warm, the first instance a big surprise (check the notes and try it yourself, it is a unique combination, trust me). On me, vanilla is the most powerful after some time. Totally love it. Must have it the sooner the better.

dormir6

It is goooood! Strange, but nice. The first few moments are the best. Powdery, sligthly earthy iris. My favourit. After a while it becomes sweet and mild. For me this sweetness is a little bit Cherry flavoured, and not the listed simple vanilla.

arrowdk

A strange fragrance.
I almost washed it off my hand because the first (and second, third, etc.) sniff was like being slapped or running into a wall. I could not even identify what it was but I did not like it. I am guessing it was the orris, but I found it unpleasant.
Now, luckily I was quite busy with work and I started to sniff something pleasant after a few hours. It developed into a lovely clean vanilla scent that is just now fading after about 8 hours.
I do not see much in common in this scent and the original one.
However, in total I gave it a "Love" rating because how pleasant it turned out to be.
I am just not quite sure what I could do to rush through the unpleasant first hour (or so) of its development.

lalondem

I was sure I smelled some blackberry or cassis in this yet none are noted in the ingredients above....nice smell to my nose, (but again I'm smelling different notes than are listed).....

genny17

Tried it at the store, walked around for a bit, I thought, oh my, this is different! Not your typical Eternity flanker...it has a bit of the original, in the Chypre undertone, some orris, some sea notes give it a different edge...so yes, I bought it because it simply smells not ordinary!! I like the warm Iris too...the dry down is more basic sweet, not too much..I don't know about the intense part though, it isn't real bold, it doesn't project greatly...but it has depth, this isn't a boring generic flanker..I like it, very feminine...pretty vanilla/ Iris combination.

kjana

i like the fact there is something unusuall, less often seen to this. however it is very, very sweet and afer a while it becomes quite dull. the first oment is interesting and it is not jst the iris, there is something "weird" in a good way to it.

realberti

I tried this one today!!! Love it!
Smells like fizzy playdo ????
Its sweet its powdery and I need it!

ravjan

Syroupy, juicy, not overwhelmingly sweet, with the right dose of fruitiness and sophistication of iris and osmanthus. Totally wearable not only for special occasions. The overall impression is that of a dark berry jam with powdery, suede-ish edges.

Arlene-Beatrix

Intense iris & vanilla scent, very syrupy, not bad though. It's just far too heavy for me.
