This have to be the most underrated salty scent ever created. Smells so unique, expensive, sophisticated, elegant, addictive, elevated, superior to all Olympeas or anything I have encountered so far.

The combination of salt, cashmeran, ambergris, sandalwood and iris is creating something magical.
I have never owned anything from Calvin Klein, everything I have sampled seems very mediocre at best, but Reveal is a masterpiece in my eyes!

It’s such a smooth and clean smelling scent, woody, warm, spicy, marine, musky, powdery, very distinct from what you normally get nowadays. I would not believe just by looking at the notes listed that Reveal smells as amazing as it does. I feel like the notes don’t make justice to the juice inside.

Also the bulky bottle does not come across like something very feminine or appealing to many women. But the juice is divine!!

Reveal is s salty scent that’s not the typical summertime salty perfume. It’s a nostalgic smell… Reveal is an intoxicating scent that takes marine, salty scents to another level. Niche or artisanal level but sold for a celebrity price!

It’s a standout fragrance in my collection for sure! Beautiful, nonetheless! Criminally underrated.

On my second bottle now!

It's so funny to me how different people interpret this scent completely differently. A little too sweet for my taste. Smells of fermented fizzy Haribo cola candies and cheap men's vetiver cologne, but in a pleasant way. There is definitely vanilla in this scent and lots of it even though it's not listed in the notes. It absolutely does not smell like Olympea, Vanilla Vibes or Womanity, not even close. Olympea and Vanilla Vibes are sickly sweet to my nose and Womanity is leaps and bounds more unusual and well-blended than all three of these. The only thing these four have in common is that they are woody feminine fragrances with a salt note, but that's about as vague as comparing any random four floral fruity or chypre scents.

I do like how unusual this fragrance smells and think it's worth the very cheap price you can find it for online (I got a 10mL rollerball for $7 with free shipping) but it definitely feels a little cheap and screechy at least to my nose. I'll stick to Dune and Womanity but I'm glad I got to give it a shot as it is a really unique budget fragrance that is unabashed about just doing its own thing.

On my skin its the younger more brighter fruitier more fun version of Chanel allure sensual. This perfume is very cozy its like going swimming on a cold day in the sea and then adding the most comforting clean lovely sweater its so cozy but also weird and interesting for me i had to keep smelling it

Tagimaucia

Cuddles in a bottle! It has been discontinued for more than 2 years now

kesteny

Does anyone know if this is being discontinued? I've seen someone claim that it is but before I go into backup stocking I thought I'd ask.

Luilind

I’m surprised by the notes, as I’ve always thought of this scent as leathery. To me it smells like an expensive leather bag. There’s some powdery florals and spices at first, but most of all it’s leather.

Must be the cashmeran?

Scarlette

I really like Reveal! When I wear it I usually mix it with Golden Sand to add a little sweetness...they are magic together ❤️ I love it on its own on a man! It's an addictive scent...warm, cozy, beachy, salty & spicy, and definitely classy. Smells more expensive than it is. Very modern yet somehow nostalgic in feel.
I think it may even be a love...I need to smell it! Has a smooth masculinity that is very alluring, but is still very sexy on a woman...

Solaceloveless

At first this scent was different than how it smells now on day 3. Idk I liked it day 1 but the more masculine attributes were more apparent to me I was really so curious about the aroma that was entering my nose I kept wondering wow how did they make such a weird scent and it kept growing on me. But by day 3 it had settled into my nose extremely feminine. It stopped challenging my nose I guess which I sort of miss but now I purely enjoy it’s gorgeousness. Smells like a rich mauve amber just like the colors in the pic used on this website it’s those colors but as a scent. It captures these colors beautifully. I feel like I’m in a super chic photo shoot with loungey early 2000s downtempo music playing like a Vanessa daou song is on while gold sun rays beam into my purple condo on a sweltering summer evening. Most complimented perfume I own and guys especially are very drawn to smelling it on me. I’m a man and I’m not trying to say they’re attracted to me bc I can tell they’re very embarrassed and don’t want to send the wrong signal but I get a good laugh out of listening to them anxiously explain the reason they were sniffing me up close lol.

Elihil

Je tak moc zvláštní. Pořád mě nutila zkoušet a čichat, jestli se mi to líbí nebo ne.. Je prostě jiná a já ji musela mít za každou cenu 😍

bjer-don

Uh, no. Love the bottle, but on my skin it smells of spit and B.O.

lolllee2nd

My husband and I are going to Florida and I wanted a beachy marine fragrance to match. CK Reveal looked to be a perfect match! I'm glad I only ordered a travel size as it didn't hit anywhere close to the mark, and I remember why I don't like CK scents. There is something in them that turns soooo horribly sour on me. Bitter even, like sickly body odor.

Reveal started out as a really nice salty driftwood scent that I loved, but that vanished after the first second. There was a little cashmere next that was nice but it was overwhelmed by the sour powder smell. If someone has a different experience with CK fragrances they might have better luck with Reveal.

MSita

I bought the smaller version, and thankfully, it's not a big loss. I enjoy woody scents, but the musk and ambergris in this one are way too intense and AGED. Oddly enough, I received Adam Levine's perfume sample in the same order and I've noticed similarities between them, being this second one better imo.

inRio

What an incredible surprise! I brought home a blotter that had the smell of sea and salt that everyone talks about. I loved it and I thought that I need something like it, so I went and bought the full bottle. But on my skin it was so different. Woody, musky scent that's so good. I sprayed on my arm before going to bed, to test the longevity and when I woke up it was the first thing I smelled, it lasts for hours.
This is my first (probably only) CK fragrance. Some brands just don't appeal to me and I avoid them, like Versace, or Guess. I thought CK was among them, be it the estethics of the perfume bottles, or the designer profile. Reveal packaging somehow fits my opinion of the brand, but the fragrance is exquisite. It smells clean, intimate, elegant and I'm pretty sure I'll devour this 100 ml bottle, maybe buy another. I'm keeping it on my desk, to top up at will.
I wanted it for the seaside holiday vibe and I got something else that I'm loving right now. I can see how, with the right body chemistry, it could be unisex.

TerceraMolar

Not even close to Womanity by Thierry Mugler, it has its own DNA , I have both and no no, nothing alike, I think I have to let it macerate , I feel the note of salt and ambergris, but there is a jumble of notes that I don't know what they are, almost chaotic, but doesn't smell bad 😳, I just can't find that harmony yet ,longevity is a bit disappointing on my skin, 1-2 hours very weak in my opinion, I will leave it in a dark place, hoping that like a wine it will get better.
Based on reviews this is a bomb but I don't get that, I'm gonna let it sit.

Moonshine_Strawberries

I’ve tried a lot of “skin but better” scents and this is definitely the best I’ve tried. I definitely don’t crave it or think of it often, but if a skin scent is what I wanted this would be signature worthy.

magred

sort of like chanel chance's woodier, saltier sister. would never wear it but actually kind of interesting.

Yes Malena

On me, Reveal is the epitome of "meh." My husband was intrigued. But after an opening of Scotch tape (Selly tape), just a nothing for me. Alas.

I've worn this a few times, but it's not speaking to me.

dexilio

Never would've thought salt was a note I would enjoy this much, and now I am a changed man. Reveal feels like warm hugs from a gentle ocean. It feels like the boundless sea is carrying so many secrets yet you feel perfectly safe and embraced in its waves. Delicate salt, soft spices, and warm cashmere come together to create this oily effect that is so soothing. Reveal is truly a poetic creation. It may not be for everybody but it is for the artistic and patient minds. You just need to give it a little time and maybe another try.

Andrada91

Yesterday I found out t's discontinued. :(
Too bad!
In Romania it’s already hard to find, and the prices are starting to rise.

Today I found it in an online store at an acceptable price and ordered two, because I can't imagine not having it in my collection.

For me, Reveal was love at first smell, it smells like summer, sun, sea and it's addictive. ❤️
Love it!

jess4542

Selling 3.4oz bottle in USA. Pretty scent, but doesn't work on my skin chemistry. I know it's discontinued, so want someone else to get use out of it rather than me wasting it

sem413

I love this perfume so much! I got a backup bottle because it's been discontinued and I know that I won't be able to deal with not having this in my collection. To me, this smells like cliffs by the ocean on a cold day because it's salty, cold, but still somehow cozy.

At first, you get a blast of pepper and salt. After a few minutes, the pepper calms down and you just get saltiness, which is amazing. After a few hours, you have salty woodiness, and it's all just works so well.

Fragn3wbie

This is how I imagine a mermaid smells, soaking up some sun in the salty breeze on a piece of wet driftwood or warmed rocks in the summer.
But I also can imagine a damp, drizzly walk along the sea on a cool fall day.
This smells salty and humid and I love it. It’s cozy and sexy and beachy but not a tropical beach, a wild, windswept coast. With mermaids.

Amber Plokchouli

This one needed time. The first time I sprayed it, I didn’t smell a thing. I was so disappointed by after a few weeks it smelled much stronger. Unfortunately it was weird. There was a note that to me smelled like dried saliva on skin, which could potentially be sexy, but it just didn’t really work for me. After a few months of letting it settle the weird saliva note (I’m sure it’s the ambergris) has finally calmed and the scent it very warm and comforting. Now I can finally smell the sea! To me it smells like sea side rocks that have warmed up in the sun and that smell like sea, salt, sun and warmth. It’s very beautiful. It’s quite soft and intimate, and doesn’t develop much on my skin. It’s somewhat of a your skin but better type of scent. It doesn’t particularly long, but I don’t really mind, because it’s the type of scent I’d wear to the sea side during the day, when I don’t want to smell perfumed, but rather like the way I’ll smell anyway on the beach, but a bit enhanced.

Anyway if you buy this and it’s not working for you, give it a lot of time to settle before deciding. While this scent is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, it’s very unique and definitely worth waiting for to give it a fair chance.

Im_only_lurking

I left a sad sad review right after I first sprayed it out of the bottle saying "all i get is pepper, no sea and sand" but i let it sit for a week and damn this is good! Dry, cozy and smooth, reminds me of hot summer days in an Aegean island, where only shrubs have survived the scorching sun and sweeping wind.

It sits close to skin which is ok, but the longevity is so bad, on my skin at least. Nevertheless, this is my new obsession and for the price I can overlook that issue.

pheeatrixkiddo

An underrated easy grab for long summer days. Starts sharp and salty, but quickly settles into the perfect nostalgia twinged smell of salt water dried on sun warmed skin. I grew up coastal so this just smells like home to me. It’s obviously beachy without being a tropical cocktail, a flower bomb, or filled to the brim with coconut, which is nice. Truly just smells like sitting on the sand at sunset. Occasionally there are small mysterious waves of an unidentifiable floral note that come and go, slightly delicate and lovely. It reads as slightly more maudlin and icy in the winter, which is nice too. It also lasts literally all day.

Surprisingly niche and high concept for Calvin Klein. I’m so sad it’s no longer in production, it was honestly ahead of it’s time but I’m glad bottles are still relatively affordable right now... for now.

kittywhiskers

Smells just like Mont Blanc Présence d'une femme but with a salty note. Unisex for sure. Doesn't remind me of the beach in winter sadly, which is what I was hoping for. Still a solid fragrance though, awesome longevity (still smell it on my skin 12+ hrs later)

morphoevgenia

This smells so much better on my husband, fresh and subtle.
It is cold seaside on weekend morning. Salty breeze, some wood thrown out by sea, and you are in your white linen costume. Not my cup of tea, but I really appreciate the concept. It has a lot of musk, that ultimately can work or not for you, but I frankly like musks a lot and they tend to work well on me or my husband. It is beautiful, beautiful fragrance for this price.

Lilith5050

I bought this because it was recommended as a Womanity dupe, it has the salty note but the sweetness of the fig is lacking. But it reminds me to another perfume I had, it's a less sharp Aqua Divina from Bulgari.

Sherlock Ness Monster

This one feels cozy to me, I like to wear it in the autumn and winter. I apply with a light hand, just a tiny spritz or two. I get compliments from coworkers when I wear this one. It feels like the color of a lovely warm beige nude lipstick, like the color of the liquid itself. Glad to have it in my collection.

Katora#1

Unfortunately, this one settles down into a salty musky concoction that (at least to my brain) is reminiscent of a person putting on a white musk focused perfume before leaving the house, only for the scent to mix with their perspiration after 10 hours of running errands in 40°C summer heat. In the meantime their fragrance turned into a sour, stale musky mess. Very unfortunate, I really wanted to like Reveal but my brain does not seem to favor salty fragrances, even Baccarat Rouge 540 just smells uncomfortably salty and sour to me (almost like the salted licorice gummies after getting them wet). Sillage and longevity are below average on my skin. 🤷

temporal

Reminds of long walks by the Baltic sea. Minimalistic landscape yet wide horizon. Slightly salty air, windy, and +17+19C water even during hot summer days. The wood note here reminds of warmed forest by the sea side and pieces of wood on the seashore, kissed by sun and polished by sea. I have purchased my 100 ml only few days ago. It has recognizable CK musk base, similar to the Truth by CK. I wish this fragrance would be louder and would last longer, as the composition is beautiful.

ajrose

Leaving another review. Get this discontinued gem while you still can. It is SO GOOD!

TDSollog

This is a masterpiece among my collection. It's salty, peppery and cozy. Beachy, but not in a sunscreen way, but in a salt marsh, breezy way. It's sadly discontinued.....

Joani_Cheddar

I call myself leaving this fragrance in the wind when I started my boujee collection of Niche - but every year, and I mean every year, I re-purchase for the summer because it is such a good salty amber for a great price. Call me shallow but apparently I have to impress myself when I stare into the eyes of my fragrances each night - so catch me in the fall - I'll probably be selling...again! :) Calvin...see you this summer.

Frabra88

This is a real pearl, especially coming from the Calvin Klein repertoire, and for such a low price, I almost can not belive it!
Do not get me wrong, l like many of Klein offerings (Eternity, Euphoria, Obsession, Truth, One, Beauty...and many more) but this one is so special and so different from the usual Klein style. I must say though that it fits the heroin chic, early 90's, Klein/Kate Moss aesthetic so very well...in particular the naked dewy shots done in sepia by genius Testino! Or the Obsession Sorrenti's ones.

This is a salty peppery iris, cold and detached, perhaps even a bit dreamy...nothing sterile or aseptic however because it indeed reveals itself little by little, showing a peculiar warmness and intimacy that you were just not prepared to deal with.
The opening is very peppery, black dusty pepper in particular, and it has a punch of salt. I don't find it fishy or swampy at all, it's more like a dusty saltiness, and it has on it a vapor-like veil of iris. This iris is not too floral, not yet powdery (and surely it has nothing of cosmetics). It is as if something a tad aromatic accompanies it.
A very modern and niche like rendition of iris, I find.
The ambergris material they used makes this so very special, I can smell warm human skin, a touch of sand and just a tinge of animalic. The smell of something intimate, of two body meeting under the sun in in a salty, sweaty embrace. The cold/warm dichotomy works really well here, very balanced.
The dry down never loses the saltness and it is woody. Sandalwood is nothing creamy, more dry I would say, but there is a fuzzy velvety quality...and I would bet on it that it is cashmeran. The amber I don't particularly pick up (at least nothing labdanum/vanillic, but maybe it ads warmness). I think some type of musk is in here too, even if not declared in the notes (could it be something related to ambrettolide?).

It is not a overly complex perfume in the execution but it was special in concept, I think. When it came out this must have seemed avant-garde for the designer public because the "your skin but better" genre had not yet been so loved and explored and, to add to it, this was a salty peppery rendition of that. Of course there were already many musky and ambergris fragrances on the designer market but so very little that fitted in the "human skin" genre.
I would like to read more about the making of this perfume, I wonder what the intented result was.

I am enjoying my bottle immensily, more so because a 100 ml costed me just 22,00 €. I absolutely need a back up. Such a shame this is discontinued.
I even love the packaging very much, and the way my hand can grip the bottle. The color of the liquid brings to my mind just the color of wet skin under the sun.

Lasting power is good, almost 7 hours on my skin, sillage is ok during first two/three hours but then it is intimate, which is ok for me, and coherent with this type of fragrances style.
It is truly unisex, genderless, a perfumes for humans, no sex distinctions needed.

This is special also of another reason: it completely changes with the weather. A truly reactive fragrance, wich I find it's not so common as we think it is.
During fall, with the high quote cold of a mountain city, this is a peppery bomb! The iris and the ambergris translate as foggy.
A salty, stone cold experience. With spring it opens ever so slightly, and the iris becomes more "purplish".
During summer magic happens!

This perfume is well worth it. I now understand why it is so loved. Get it while you can.

GenialMiscreant

Does anyone know if this fragrance has been discontinued?

Rainstorm

It’s intriguing. Not sure whether to love it or not? On the one hand it feels quite addictive on the other hand the salt and pepper, or is it the marine accord? creates this salty fishy smell. If you smell it bluntly without sniffing out its nuances. But it’s still alluring somehow? I understand its name ‘reveal’. As it tends to reveal itself to you but not at once. I’ve been reaching for this as I’ve been craving something salty. I got this for a bargain price for those in the UK, £25 for 100ml at Savers. I like that I can spray with some abandon.
Edit: 12/0/24. Discountinued, online at savers too. My local never had it anyway, I got it in Suffolk, uk locally. May have to back up if they have any left but the 100ml will last sufficiently. It definitely grew on me so would be sad to no longer have this. But don’t want stale perfume either. So may just enjoy the bottle I have whilst it lasts!

Antientblue

This is one of my favorite perfume. Since the 1st bottle. I am sure it smells different on other people, but on my skin it creates interesting chemistry. Every time I wear it people stop me asking what is it. It smells warm and soft, but wild and seductive in the same time. Amber does it’s role of adding mystery to it. It is funny reading all those negative reviews. I just love it. Even bought a spare one 🫣. Every time I want to feel desirable I wear it. Not to work though 😂

Awater01

I found the whole composition disturbing when I first tired it. With time, I got used to the salt, but mostly because I grew to love the salt in Olympea. I can tolerate Reveal now, but I still don't really like it. What was most apparent for me was how much this reminded me of other CK fragrances. Some components of this fragrance reminds me of Eternity; a kind of aquatic, sweet and vaguely vanillary base that seems to be a CK signature. I get a strong salt and pepper but nothing that I would describe as woody, or floral. There's a hint of amber here but not enough to my tastes. I ended up layering with Halston Woman Amber for that smooth amber kick that I felt this needed and it blended rather well with the salt and spices.

scream-sayonara

This was a gift and when I initially sprayed the perfume on I HATED the smell and thought it was going to smell awful but I was SO wrong.
The next day I could smell something REALLY nice and it took me ages walking around my living room to realise it was the scarf I had been wearing.
This scent smells unspeakably good and something about it feels so expensive. I usually wear niche perfumes but something about this is up there with the boujie scents I own. I’m consistently complimented when wearing this perfume.

FaithRusin

Listen... this is so high end. I sprayed it and now i feel like i am about to be on the cover of Vougue in 2009. This reminds me of these perfume samples that magazines had on their pages in the early 2000s. You rub your wrist into the page to smell the perfume. It`s salty heaven. I loooooove Womanity. This is the summer version of it in a CK way. It is unique and timeless. Got myself 3 x 100ml just to make sure you know :)))

Patousas

This to me smells like salty skin after a long day at the beach. Damp, musky skin and soggy swimwear : salt + skin + dampness + sweat. Do with this information what you will. Interesting non the less....

lmnsvgz

No, this is not a dupe for Armani Bleu Turquoise. Bleu Turqoise is indulgent, very salty, mineralic. While this smells a bit salty, but in a very natural skin-like way. This is quite musky, smooth, while Bleu Turquoise smells salty and mineralic from start to finish. BT also smells like a spa, this smells like skin after beach.

I feel a bit disappointed. It is good but it doesn't compare.

jbsherry

This reminds me of Bleu Turquoise Armani Privé. While as to be expected, the former is more refined, Reveal gives it a run for its money in terms of projection and lasting power. Much better value imo.

Perfectly unisex. I tend to gravitate towards more feminine leaning scents, but this is a nice addition to my collection. It’s a scent profile you don’t often come across: spicy/aquatic/woods. Reminds me of a beach in the countryside during a storm. A bit melancholic, but I like it.

Dandyman

Quite similar to Aqua di Sale, Profumum Roma - but lighter and more "easy." (And 1/8 of the price...)
I like it. Becomes woody in the dry down.
I do not agree that the perfume is masculine, even though gender is no issue, anyone can wear this in the summertime.
Smells fantastic on my wife! Like she´s been on a beach and got herself a really nice suntan. And she had to walk through a forrest to get to the beach. (That´s the woody part.)

alternateu

Love @AllisonNW's comment about a sexy metal robot. Yes.
It's a metallic, cold scent. The spices really give it that kick. Unfortunately, I think the vetiver is pulling a little too woody on my skin, so it's only an "ok" scent for me. I love the idea of the spice with the musk, but unfortunately, this one dries quite synthetic and masculine on my skin.

---

Gave it another shot again today (several years from my last spray), and hm. It turns rapidly pepper and lightly sour on my skin.

Somzkosic7

Firstly, this was a blind buy for me based on the reviews and notes.
Womanity is one of my signature fragrances but this does not smell anywhere close to it. I do have Acqva di sale as well and this is more like it and I would say it is a dupe of it if you do not wanna spend a fortune.
This is nowhere near office/ suit/ lawyer fragrance at all to me as mentioned in comments below. This is marine, summer, not necessarily a beach scent but scent for a hot summer day.
I do not detect any pepper at all, and there are like 3 types listed lol, to me it is pure salt marine scent.
Sillage is a bit disappointing to me, it is very light and I feel like I have to overspray but I need to try it in the summer (winter now).

AllisonNW

This smells like a sexy metal robot that will break your heart. Silky, salt and pepper ambergris. This is what people smell like in dystopian sci-fi novels.

talkaboutscents

Niche appealing designer for a sand/salt impression with a powdery iris twist and a traditional amber accord (vanilla-labdanum-benzoin) that helps the “cashmere” fantasy note, but it is definitely not Cashmeran alone if at all present (which is a musky velvety ingredient). Fragrantica notes are misleading at this point.

Overall it leans more feminine than I thought, it stays close to skin and smells quite classy, I imagine a chic woman wearing an outfit of pastel colors, beige tones and a cashmere scarf. People who like Armani Prive - Bleu Turquoise can really like this one, it is not a clone or maybe not even that similar, but the vibe of the blend is definitely there.

Worth its asking price and respectful creation whether you like it or not. Brands like CK rarely put out gems like this one…I believe once this is discontinued (or starts to vanish online), it will become one of those sought-after “rare gems” fragrances.

Emmyflower

I first bought this perfume in 2014 and FELL IN LOVE. It was honestly so unique and amazing and I was absolutely flawed by it. Then something unexpectedly happened whilst I was abroad and had to get on a flight with my clothes that were unfortunately damp. I sprayed myself relentlessly to rid the damp smell of my clothes, and then it dawned on me that the damp smell was from the perfume and it was a putrid foul after smell. The perfume had just suddenly turned horrible and made me gag every time I smelt myself and I never touched it again. Up until 6 years later where I found it again and was excited to retry this perfume, I thought that my previous experience may had been down to the hot weather affecting the perfumes smell, but how wrong I was. Even 8 years later and finding it again, the smell was horrific and damp smelling like ever before. Such a shame cause I LOVED this perfume

Hasanhmd2

Disgusting

DPrince01

A great fragrance for summer that doesn’t smell like sweet coconut, as most others do. It is a unique musky, salty but sweet scent. Someone was wearing this in a room the other day and even after they had walked out, it was like a perfume bomb had gone off. Great longevity and sillage. Kind of reminds me of sand. Good signature scent for someone who is into this vibe. Can be quite scratchy and overwhelming, so spray lightly.

I was intrigued by the reviews. So I bought one as a blind purchase. I love the perfume. It is certainly very unique. I can see an over thirty young lawyer or a business lady wearing a suit for a day at work ,wearing this scent. In fact it is a perfume I would expect to find on the set of the Netvision t.v serie SUITS. :-) . It is not a sexy scent .It is a unintimidating and office safe day pefume as well as a pefume to go with the kids after work to the playground. Longevity is good+ Sillage is medium.

ntabassum92

I like Reveal, but there is something about it on skin that smells kind of rough and scratchy, maybe a bit cheap. Obsession has the same quality on me. I really like the overall scent of it. The ambergris gives the perfume such a warm, enveloping quality, and I really smell the salt in the room after I have applied the scent. It's one of those quiet perfumes that you may have to nuzzle in to smell, kind of like the drydown of a different perfume, but if you leave a room and come back, you will distinctly smell the fresh, salty, slightly sweet amber in the air.

Bonjour...

Sade800

This is not what I was expecting based on the reviews.
I don't get any of the 'beachy' or 'minimalist' vibes that others have stated.
It is nice though, the pepper note is lush.
It then settles down to a soft sweet fragrance.
Sillage and longevity are excellent.
I don't think I'll be buying a full bottle though - I prefer Katy Perry's Indi which is along the same lines

Maschka

This is just perfect for late summer/early fall! I find that it gets completely lost in the heat and smells of nothing much other then some dirty musk. But as it cools down, maybe on cooler summer nights, or when summer is turning into fall this opens up so fresh spicy and sparkling with all the pepper, it almost hast a Coca Cola vibe and the red Pepper gives it a slight citrusy/ fruity nuance. Then it turns into sexy salted caramel and cashmere.. After holidays, tanned skin and the beginning of fall is prime time for this baby!
Compared to womanity it’s much dryer, especially in the opening. I find womanity has this raw fleshiness and warmth and literal sexiness while Reveal is more concealing - there’s still something to unpack 😅

Nancy Cole

Do NOT blind buy this! To me this smell more masculine and sharp. Will have to test it in cooler weather, but i dont have high hopes 😓

dezaval

Very interesting and unusual! Not floral or fruity at all. It's a summer frag, "not tropical beachy". It reminds me of a greek beach in summer, in a small aegean island, where only some thirsty bushes and thyme live. The sun is mercilessly strong, the sea is dark blue, the pebbles and the sand are light brown. I can detect salt, sea notes (ambergris, maybe?), pepper and woods. Very good longevity and sillage! It is rather unisex, leaning to feminine.

jocing

I blind buy this because of my curiosity after reading so many review.
Got this Reveal CK as a collection even though is not the type of perfume I will wear on me, myself.
I don't hate and I don't love it, but I appreciate the niche quality for a budget perfume and it was well done perfume with performance and the bottle was well design. I adore the product as a collection.

First I got salt, this perfume is salty, not much perfume was done in this way. I can tell this have a niche quality, for a budget perfume. Is special, is unique, is brave, is creative.

The spice peppery are prominent, is salty and peppery and woodiness at the first spray as first impression. It remind me of McDonald potato fries was sprinkle some salt and pepper. Smell like food and exactly how it smell like when you are having the fresh hot fries in the car and you can't wait to sprinkle the pepper! First impression, OH! McDonald potato fries!

The dry down lean toward woodiness, sandalwood, some middle east vibe but come with saltiness.
Not sure what occasion are suitable for this. Is confusing. Because of the food smell, is stopping me from wearing them. I do not want to smell like McDonald fries stick on my body.

Not a safe blind buy but is unique as a collection. The price is affordable.

Updated :
After a while, I started to get ride of the food concept from this reveal. I wore this to bed once and it turn out dry woody scent. Is unique but I was very careful with where I wore them.

Several youtube perfume gurus have just gone on and on about this perfume. They love it.
I tried Calvin Klein's Beauty - and that took awhile to really appreciate, but after several months of wear in the summer - it is one of my favorites because of the way that the jasmine blooms in the heat during the spring/summer months and during workouts at the gym or walking.

Reveal is super strong when this starts and seems to be a blend which reminds me of CK's Obsession and Escape - almost at a 50/50 blend. It is slightly oceanic with some of the grounding notes similar to Obsession, the second hour of wear I notice more of the woodsy notes. The first 30 minutes of this were overly strong. The longer this wears, the better it is -- this is not my taste in perfumes. This is a bit more masculine, could be considered unisex - or a man's cologne. I prefer a perfume that leans more feminine than masculine. Reveal is not my fragrance profile range. (There are reviews that mention that this is similar to Womanity, it may have a few oceanic notes that may be similar - but Reveal is much less sweet, more masculine, more neutral).

The Calvin Klein TV advertising campaign for this perfume is really sexy and enticing. It features two high rise neighbors - flirting with each other through the open windows. Calvin Klein has always done a great job with their product branding - and it always leans towards the sexy side of things. This ad is better than the perfume though.

---------

If you like Reveal, but want to find something slightly more sweet --
I would try Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked, that perfume has some great things happening chemically with the blend.
Blake Lively's favorite perfume by Burberry, the Beat - is in a similar family to Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked. You may like that perfume, also.

-----------

The longer that I have worn Calvin Klein's perfume, Beauty - the more I really love that perfume, it is truly a great blend with my chemistry - I love it! Great for casual every day wear. That is definitely one to try! The jasmine in that blend is great in the summer!

annn1

I've had Reveal for a year now. First I didn't understand the appeal. It was so neutral and understated that it almost made no sense putting it on in the first place. Somehow I couldn't let it go. There was something addictive about it, but every time I put it on, something didn't feel quite right. First I thought it was simply the total lack of sweetness, then I blamed the pepper. Then I read one of the reviews below that mentioned the word 'ashtray' and yes! that was exactly what bothered me all along. In the dry down it develops this sharp note of cold cigarette smoke. Might be the particular chemistry of me skin, so don't be discouraged from trying, but for me - after a long trial period - it finally is a pass.

ajrose

Um, yes please! I love this!!! Looking at the notes, it's hard to know what to expect, but I decided to trust all the rave reviews knowing I like cozy, warm, clean skin scents and I really enjoy ambergris. I should say that I'm not sensitive to pepper notes in my fragrance but even I was worried about the triple pepper opening beforehand. I actually don't find it to be too much and it adds some interest and feels well blended. This turns into a creamy, cozy, fuzzy, warm, slightly sweet, your skin but better, delectable scent. It's 30C today with high humidity and this scent is working well for me and I can still smell it at the 5 hour mark.

Edit 9/22/2022: This is my #1 perfume of all I have tried to date. I never would have guessed from the notes. It just works for me. Very sad it's discontinued!

Catmo

This is a less sweet version of Womanity. Also very similar to the original Olympea minus vanilla. Definitely unisex. Nice, not quite what I was expecting though.
I would say it’s most similar to Kenzo World Power minus the cypress. The more I wear it- the more I love it. If you love salty fragrances (like me) this is a must have.

Becw08

As pp this is a successful blind buy after an equally successful blind buy of contradiction
Gorgeous floral (iris) woody musk

Rcates78

Reveal has been a successful blind buy for me and I'm loving it! I wasn't sure I'd like the peppery top notes, but I really do. On the blotter things were questionable, but on my skin... spicy and bracing, like the first blast of cool, dry, fall air as you step out of the house in the morning. The drydown is a salty, amber, vanilla musk, in a similar vein to Dune and Olympea. Dune was a favorite and Reveal dries down similarly sandy and arid (tho less balsamic), while I think Olympea retains a little more "moisture". Other reviewers have likened aspects of Reveal to Womanity or Angel. I own both, both are favorites (Angel is my signature and I've been wearing it for 25 years), and I can find nothing in Reveal that reminds me of either. The solar notes described in marketing materials are like the heat radiating off the sidewalk as the sun sets on a hot day, rather than recalling the beach or shoreline of any body of water. Because of this, I think Reveal will even do well in cooler weather, as its creamy and woody base notes are wonderfully warm and comforting and possibly reminiscent of dried leaves and fresh firewood. I'm enjoying it here in the hot SoCal August though. Sillage is arm's length and longevity is a good 7 or 8 hours. I got it affordably on the grey market so a total win for me!

Edit 8/20/22: Still loving this! The savory opening is so unique and longevity is so good that the warm "cashmere" base provides welcome comfort as I settle into bed at night.

chimidoro

I've always seen this scent as a stronger and woodier version of the Shea fragranced range by The Body Shop.
It also shares some of its character with Lalique's Living Lalique (seriously, is that stuff called Living or Living Lalique? Really...), so if you like that but are not so keen on lavender (raises hand), maybe give this a go.
And in the base of Reveal I find a hint of Mugler's Angel.

I don't reach for this very often, I fall in and out of love with it.
My main chagrin with this EDP is the simple fact that it doesn't keep too well. When it's fresh, it's marvelous, but once it's turned a little - which seemingly happens with no rhyme nor reason (living in dank, drizzly England, store my fragrance with care) - you get a horrid blast of pungent alcohol upon application, which then must pass in order for you to enjoy and appreciate the scent. But by that point the damage is done.

Cloelles

Smells outdated imo. Smells like a perfume from the 90's. It's not a bad perfume just not modern and I think of an older man wearing something like this. Peppery and salty but also quite smooth and not too loud. This smells perfumey, more perfumey than a gentle scent like this should, so that makes it smell outdated. For some reason I get the image of a cruise ship, somehow I've smelled this scent there.. maybe the mixture of many perfumes in the taxfree + sea air? It's a pass for me. I prefer younger and more modern smelling fragrances. But between Olympea and this, this is way better as a salty perfume, Olympea is headache inducing.

chlorodream

It’s a nice scent that reminds me of salty, natural skin, but there’s something suffocating about it. I’d like it if there was something to lift it, but it’s not soft and subtle like a skin scent, it’s like being in a sweaty market where everyone smells nice, but it’s a bit much.

Eveningrose

I can definitely smell the salt and pepper upon first spray. It is a very unique scent . If you like salty scents like Olympia , you may be into this . It dries down to a salted caramel scent to me .

GizPop

The more I wear it, the more I love this scent. It is beautiful in summer and it creates a salty, sun kissed skin.

Mistress Eva

Reveal is decent and well-crafted. There’s a place in my collection for “basic” perfumes for when I have to do “basic” things like work in an office with people who are fairly sensitive to scents. Reveal is a nice scent, but indeed, very basic. I could see people liking it more than I do. Although I like it, I don’t find it particularly moving. It’s like wearing a nice nude lipstick when going for a natural makeup look– which I almost never do. It is easy to see how Reveal might be the olfactory representation of bare skin. However, it isn’t as sexy as that might sound.

Reveal is a good performer and a solid value.

Mona Lygre

EDIT: Holy cow and cowabonga!!!

This perfume has grown and grown on me, so much since my last comment, I have become addicted to this peppery juice, I give it a 12 of 10 points, mi happy mama :))

shannfernando

I urge you to test this on your skin and pay no heed to the notes listed here… when one reads the three peppers and salt as the opening notes, they immediately think of a kitchen-esque scent… this is anything but that.

It’s soft, slightly powdery, and a little bit salty. Think of a woman who had been soaking in a long warm bath, applies her scented lotions, wraps herself in a soft woollen towel and sits next to you, with her skin still slightly warm and tender from her hour long soak.

She smells sweet, powdery and a bit salty coz skin does have a slight savoury nuance. And that’s what this smells like to me.

My initial review of Reveal was so far off base as I mainly detected the salty marine and woody aspects of it. But having spent about 2 years with it now, I am beginning to finally understand what this perfume was meant to “reveal”…

A woman in her most vulnerable and natural element. Naked skin…

What a stunner.

Scentedalterego

A perfume for minimalists, the scent and the bottle. Fits the white/beige/natural Instagram esthetic perfectly. It smells like the idea of skin, not like actual skin. Warm, slightly salty, slightly vanillic, like a soft aura. This is what I hoped molecule 1 would be. Good for a polished and understated look.

I think this is special and one of the better CK releases. It’s discontinued because it was not mainstream enough. A good dupe is La Rive True by Woman, which is a bit sweeter and lasts very well.

luluxielle

It was gifted to me years ago. While I appreciate the musky and powdery notes, I hate it on my skin as it smells like rubber. Uggh. I don't feel feminine at all. This is also headache-inducing.

Used it only a couple of times, I had this on my shelf for over 5 years and it's still almost full.

I don't wanna touch it as much as I can.

Mona Lygre

I think you must love pepper to like this intense perfume, because it's very, very, very peppery!

I got this perfume for a steel in a salvatory shop: It smells nice in the drydown, it's clean, powdery and some kinda musky and ambery, yes, ambery too, not sure if the "-ry" is a proper word, but I would say, this is not the perfume you buy blindly, is that "ly" correct? (-I'm from Norway...)

I have another very peppery perfume which is in fact much, much better; Etienne Aigner Pour Femme by Etienne Aigner, and, that one is for everybody, this Reveal, is only for "women", and "men", I think ;))

mmagic_conch

I don’t know why I ordered a roller of this, I already knew I hate pepper. I can’t stand pepper notes. And this has 3. Not sure why I thought I could get past it this time. I ordered olympea so hopefully that is what I wanted this to be. (Salty/skin/beach/ocean/animalic musk) Someone said they smelled soup….I get it. The salt and pepper. It could almost be a chicken soup perfume. Yikes. I *think* I can almost smell what it would be without all the pepper, and it might be good…but I just can’t quite separate it. I can almost see how it smells “perfumey” “unique” or “high end” but I can’t wrap my mind around a person wanting their actual body to smell like this. This is a strong no for me, but if you like pepper, go for it.

CRiche

Well I just received this. Soft, light, powdery. Nothing special. Disappointing after hearing such great reviews. Not a bad smell at all but I definitely didn’t need it in my collection. I need to stay off YouTube 🤣
Edit: ok I put it in my dark closet for 5 days and didn’t touch it. Today I wore it and I found it stronger and prettier. Can someone explain why this happens after shipping? I probably won’t repurchase this but I can see it is good for the price point and I will use and enjoy it.

kandinsky0

so lovely- smells fresh, like the beach. would recommend for spring and summer. its not quite elegant or rich enough for the evening- bear in mind its an EDP not a perfume, it just doesn't have that deepness. I think of it more as a body spray, but it is nice and gets compliments when you've just put it on.

étoilesdejasmin

What is this gorgeous stuff.

On my way to finding my signature I stumbled upon this.. I will say it’s most definitely not for everyone, don’t blind buy it. I also don’t smell much salt on me, and most unfortunately, it doesn’t last at all. I don’t care, Still adore. It is rare that I feel this way towards designer perfumes sadly.

ShoGirl

This is beautiful for summer, very underrated and a steal at the prices it goes for these days.... also the bottle is simply STUNNING. I find the scent comforting, it really reminds me of the way my skin smells if I've been swimming in the sea and have then laid down in the sun to bake myself dry afterwards!

I find it summery and playful, and love the subtlety of the other notes against the dominant salt + pepper....... it's like a beautiful mermaid (or merman! this is very unisex) has come out of the ocean smelling of beautiful lush salty water and lightly musky sunkissed skin, then rolled around giggling on a surface layed thick with cracked black pepper and sandalwood shavings :)

Gorgeous stuff and makes me long for summer and feel more hopeful as I wear this today.

PerfumedParrot

The lovely opening of salty, soft suede filled me with promise at first. I always enjoy ambergris, but it awaits a smothering of sweetness. After a while, it warms-up and sweetens to a point that I don’t like it anymore as the musky cashmeran becomes cloying. It just becomes a tangled mess of sweet and salt with an almost almondy nougat gourmand base.

It’s trying its best at only £20 but there are far better salty ambergris scents out there.

Patrice 123

I really wanted to like this, as I find it similar to one of my all time favorites Lalique le parfum… but, something with the pepper and salt went sour on my skin and created a funky undertone I can’t get past. I advise anyone to skin test before purchase. Glad I got a travel size.

blondemelancholic

There is a lot of talk about beaches on here, and I understand completely, but I get a slightly different image when I smell this. Living my whole life in a West North Central state, this reminded me of late afternoons wandering through old haunts in a big anorak, the sky dull and gray with the vague promise of rain, dark rows of trees and rusty chain link fences bordering old baseball diamonds and playgrounds that I used to frequent as a child, and the strange ache of loneliness, like nobody knows where I am and my life is my own. Now, this is a very Midwestern Gothic image that may sound like a diss, but in fact it's high praise for this perfume -- it is bitter, salty, mysterious, unique. I don't have anything else quite like it and it warmed my heart to have such a strong image invoked in me... because I love long walks like that. (: I recommend this on rainy days ONLY, or gray beach days -- not sunny ones. it is too enigmatic for that, too chimeric... Everyone should try this once, even if it's not their cup of tea.

lulami

This is a particular perfume. I think it depends on the interaction with the skin. On my skin it smells like sweat and salt for the first minutes and then becomes musky and I can smell the iris and sandalwood. It's more unisex than female in my opinion and I think I will give this to my brother, because I can't really stand how it smells on me before it settles down. Nonetheless, it's a good perfume, very minimalist in its design and notes but not for everyone.

joziekonczalnose

This fragrance is SO underrated. I love love salty, musky scents with just a hint of floral. I feel so lucky to have discovered this beaut in my aunt’s perfume drawer. I get spicy salt at first spray, but get more and more of the animalic ambergris (my favorite!) and muskiness as it dries down. This perfume will last on my clothes for days. I wear this most in the winter, but I think it’s good for all seasons because of the salt and florals.

annn1

Very unisex. Very neutral. Subtle and absolutely non-offensive. It is not sweet by any definition. Not fresh either. Slightly salty. Definitly peppery. The pepper dominates quite a bit before it turns softer and more comforting in the drydown.

I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I don't dislike it because there is nothing to dislike. I don't particulary love it either because it is barely there. It is not making any statement or commiting to anything. And that's why I don't understand the references to scents like Womanity, Rem or Olympea; all perfumes that are unique, fun, immediatly recognizable and - like them or not - great at what they are doing. Reveal is great at avoiding all that, which is an art in itself but not one I personally would like to spend much money on.

Edit:
I recently sprayed it on a sweater and when I opened the closet a few days later I was met by this wunderful woody, cashmeran, musky, slightly beachy scent. The more I use Reveal the more it is actually growing on me. I'm not taking back what I wrote before because it is basically still true. I just found a fondness and appreciation for the quietness and subtleness of this fragrance. Reveal is like a beautiful, comforting, relaxed presence in the background for those days when you don't want to make a statement and there is definitely a place for a fragrance like that in my collection.

kiaoi

I got this perfume because I was intrigued by the salt and the Ambergris notes. I am not a fan of peppery notes though, so I expected not to be amazed by the opening. It reminds me a lot of Oud 24 hours by Ard Al Zaafaran, it may be the woody notes, it’s definitively a scent with an Oriental vibe. It’s a deep scent but the salt makes it a bit marine and beach-y. I love the dryout, the powdery sandalwood and the musk notes and I can see why this perfume is labeled as unisex.

AL8

Beautiful. Sometimes, Calvin Klein surprises me with something good. It has nothing to do with euphoria, I don`t see any similarities. This is a light woody but very feminine scent. I was afraid this saltiness would smell like wet dog at the beach, but no. It is pretty, safe office scent, comforting smell. It doesn`t project much but longevity is good. The initial smell as soon you spray is horrible, this is not the perfume. Wait. After 10-15 min it develops, revealing its beauty. Recommended.

amy33

I blind bought this one based on the reviews, hoping for a dupe for Euphoria. But on me, this smell like sweat and pee, it just makes me nauseous! So disappointed, I had high expectations for this one.

RandomPatterned

This one is interesting. I'm testing from a 30ml rollerball. It is definitely peppery to the point it could make one sneeze when first applied. I do enjoy the pepper. The saltiness seems shifty, sometimes I detect it but it is not always prominent. It has musk and is woody for sure, perhaps enhanced by the cashmeran? My introverted self would not be able to wear it if it had any more wood. It has some sweetness/powdery element from the iris which tames the spice and wood. I understand the comparison to Olympea but that one's spice is from the ginger, not pepper. To me, Olympea is saltier, and has noticeable vanilla and more obvious floral notes. I wish I could compare to Womanity but I still need to acquire it.

DorothyOz

I'm blind buying this based on the reviews. Euphoria is my signature scent and I love it for 17 years now. There's no other perfume I loved this much, the only one that gets close to the Love I have for Euphoria is Womanity which I can't find anywhere and some people say Reveal reminds them of Womanity. I still remember the first time I tried Womanity, I just laid on my bed and thought how I wish I could just smell this scent forever and how I wish the air itself would smell like Womanity. The downside is that it became very, very, extremely popular in my country and every woman would smell like it. I'll write back when I get Reveal.

Softpeacelily

Can only be described as a salty beach walk on a winters day. I’m sure someone has said this before? Anyway it’s musky with salt notes and a little peppery and it’s a great everyday scent. No sweetness and a subtle skin scent. Very calming. Try this if you’re a minimalist.

ncbluesky

I got this as a blind buy after seeing a YouTube glowing review. I've had it over a year and I've tried wearing it in every season. I wanted to like this but all I get is a sweaty guy with body odor eating salt and pepper potato chips. It makes me nauseous.

HighCountryEsq

I've notice the prices on 100ml bottles of this beauty have been creeping up from $25 range to $40+ depending on the seller. If you have been thinking about getting a bottle you might want grab one before the prices really get high.

xoxoMyke

This is my second review after 6 years. I now have a much better grasp on how to describe CK Reveal.

CK Reveal's top and heart notes are one in the same. It opens with a searing powdery spiciness. I mean, the opening is just intense! Salt, white pepper, and black pepper are mixed in a way that you can't particular pick them out. However, all three are felt intensely along with an iris that is big and booming, but not suffocating. The spiciness hits along with the powder accord that creates this very assertive matriarchal aura. I say matriarchal, because so many people have described Reveal as "old lady" which is funny as I thought the "old lady" comments were reserved for heavy florals like roses and the knock-out white trio of jasmine, gardenia, and tuberose. Now, with that out of the way, Reveal does not smell like an old lady at all! (Maybe a woman who takes charge of her agency and isn't afraid to wear a spicy woody fragrance marketed for men along with her Secret deodorant that is the Powder scent.)

After about 30 minutes to an hour, the powdery spiciness calms down and we are left with a comforting scent of a spicy, powdery woods, and musk drydown that is truly beige colored. I rarely get influenced by marketing campaigns, but the CK team nailed the color scheme perfectly for this fragrance. The drydown smells like a person who has spent all day out in the sun and in a natural body of water. The soft chemical odor remnants of sunblock / sunscreen are also very present on this person.

In short, CK Reveal smells like sun-kissed skin after applying sunblock / sunscreen and swimming in a natural body of water. But it's much more than that and it certainly isn't a beach day or recreational scent. I think that's why it hasn't been a hailed as a success. Everyone calls Reveal beachy, but it's not a fun, bright fresh "ready-for-a-day-at-the-beach-with-an-adult-beverage" fragrance. It's soft, alluring, and comforting. It's perfect for office work environments and evening dates with romantic partners.

There's absolutely no sweetness. Still unisex.

EDIT: CK Reveal for Women seems to have been completely inspired by Rem! They both have the sunblock skin scent. Where Rem is by far more "entering the beach waters", Reveal is "I am done swimming in this beach and my skin looks beautiful and is radiating the heat of the sun it spent all day soaking."

haogaga

Wow. I just got my bottle. The batch dated back to 2014 so pretty much like the original batch.
I dont like the opening, smell a bit like old lady but then in the drydown, i do get the salty beach vibe and a bit powdery as well. Nice and unisex
However, unlike the compliments on the good performance, my bottle barely performs. It lasts like 1h and barely projects. I bought mine from fragrancenet so i dont think it would be fake.
It is such a shame cause its such a beautiful scent.

AisLilly

I get the iris on opening mixed with the pink pepper, but within an hour evolves into a salty, peppery, beachy wood scent, that after about 6-7 hours dries down to a creamy sandalwood and cashmeran. This could definitely be unisex to me, I love quite a lot, and it's a great departure from more floral and citrus beach scents to a more evocative woodsy and salty scent.

Dort0625

I got a rollerball of this in a recent swap and I have been waiting for a day to try it from day start to end alone no other sprays of anything else. So I did decant some into a spray so I could spray some and rollerball some on. I must say it was beautiful. It has that same smell
When first sprayed that euphoria reminds me of, really strong, peppery something or other mixed with alcohol lol but within 20-30 seconds that goes away and it settles into this beachy, woody, really beautiful smell. It’s much more complex than I would have given it credit for originally. I’m excited now to use this! It’s really nice. It lasts a good amount of time, ia strong but not overwhelmingly so. Try it out, do it!! You may just find a nice new easy to wear fragrance! Also, I saw a gentleman below asking about this possibly being a unisex scent-to that I say a hell yes my friend!! Hell yes!!!

Linett21

For me, this fragrance is the shy and silent little sister of Dune by Dior. The little sister that is sweeter, more powdery and much more decent. But both of them are having a summer vacation by the sea on a windy, dry and hot friday afternoon. Everything is covered with sand, but they play together giggling in the sunny heat; they are bold, happy and absolutely carefree.

Gypsy French

This is such a peculiar perfume.... the bottle I have is one of the early ones (batch code dates it to November 2014). It was a blind buy for me. When I first smelled it in the winter, it really puzzled me; I thought it was different and a bit weird. I didn't hate it or dislike it, but it also wasn't a love. Maybe a shy like at best? I put it aside and didn't think about it until this week. We're currently in the middle of a heat wave with high humidity (105 F, 41 celsius) so I didn't want anything remotely gourmand or heavy or very spicy. I decided to try it again mainly because of the salt accord. oh. My. Gosh. Reveal actually revealed itself to me at long last! It is a thing of beauty and absolutely shines in the heat and humidity! It's both calming and sexy and I just can't stop sniffing my arm. GORGEOUS!!! So this is a LOVE, but only in high heat and humidity. Oh and it's definitely unisex.

Katou117

I was very intrigued by the notes and especially by the very opposite opinions on this perfume. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a full bottle but secondhand for only $ 20 CAD, I didn't have much to lose. I am very happy because on me I do not really get the Peppery note and slightly the salty note. It thrives more on the sandalwood side, very creamy as I like my sandalwood. Upon the first spray it smells a little bit strong but dries down very soft and woody. I really like it but I see from reading the comments that it can be very different from a skin to another. It reminds me a little bit of EL Sensuous, which I had in the past and got rid of but after selling it, I had regrets. I think this one gives me the soft creamy sandalwood sent I was missing, a beautiful little gem added to my collection.

yesterday_borscht

smells like a little sweaty t-shirt from the 90s and the bottom of mom's handbag a the same time. Doesn't stay on my skin even 30 mins

I bought a one ounce bottle of Reveal to test it. According to reviews here, it doesn't work for everyone. Luckily, Reveal smells wonderful on my skin ! This perfume is soft, wears close to skin, and it does remind me of the beach. Some people describe a "sweaty" note, and yes, it's the ambergris that doesn't work well on everyone. It doesn't smell sweaty on me, thank goodness ! There is an odd synthetic alcohol metallic note at first, but it dissipates as the perfume dries down. On my skin, salt is prominent, as is vetiver, sandalwood and the powdery touch of iris. The white musk, cashmeran and pepper notes are mild, well blended to give a sandy impression. Reveal is the most realistically beachy perfume I have found so far. I tried Bvlgari's Aqua Divina , and Mugler's Womanity, but found them comparatively very sweet, pretty, powdery, very ladylike, with nothing in them that really suggested a beach or ocean. Reveal lasts about 6 hours on my skin and easily 12 hours in my hair and on clothes. Great summer scent, non offensive. Totally unisex since it's not too sweet. It's soft, salty, really beachy, addictive and wonderful. A large bottle is on its way to me now. I LOVE Reveal !

@haogaga You bet men can wear Reveal, it's a fantastic fragrance for both men and women. It has been reformulated once that I know of.
"I've had two different bottles of Reveal, a newer bottle that was more Creamy/Salty/Ambergris/Cashmeran and I currently have a first batch bottle that's more Peppery/Ambergris/Iris/Woody with a cleaner/crisper feel. Both smell fantastic and have equal performance as far as I could tell, but I prefer the clean/crisp feel of the original batch." - From my review 11/24/19

LuxMicrocosma

I thought I was going to love it, judging by the notes and reviews. Unfortunately, it instantly induced headache. On my skin, it's this strong, extremely retro, medicinal scent. I have noticed that some perfumes with salt and cashmeran combination can produce a weird note for me that floats through the layers as the scent unfolds, but Reveal takes this to a next level and it just annoys the nose.

I wish I could have this frag-not-frag experience other reviewers are writing about. Definitely try before you buy.

LaContessina

I never paid too much attention when this perfume came out, 2014 was perhaps a too busy year for me.
I decided to revisit this one based on your recommendations, as this seemed to be so unique and, alas, discontinued.
I am glad i got a small bottle.
It is indeed a peculiar scent: it is sweet and salted, has this marine feel and i associate this to a day at the beach, and the smell of tanned, sun-drenched, wind-swept skin.
I sometimes get the dreadful Womanity note (i hate that perfume) but luckily not all the time.
I was hoping to get the Dune mojo so praised here... but no... no Dune on sight unfortunately.
(I adore Dune).
It's really lovely but... all in all very pale.
It has basically no sillage- a real skin scent- and a very limited longevity.
Nothing to write home about, in my opinion.
Nice but not more than nice. My 30 ml bottle will be used up but not backed up.

herecomesbob

soft salty musk, a no-brainer to throw on when you want to wear a frag but not really wear a frag. hops to a skin scent within a few hours. not a love by any stretch, but i can easily see myself finishing the bottle.

haogaga

Hey girls. Has this been reformulated yet? Is the current batch still good?

haogaga

Hey is this one wearable for a guy? I read that it smells unisex

shannfernando

This is a good substitute for Hermès Eau Des Merveilles. EDM has a prominent orange and amber note. But I think the saltiness of EDM is definitely there in Reveal. The dry down of the two are completely different though but lovely in their own way! I live in Sri Lanka and it’s hot here ALL the time. So both fragrances are great for hot weather. I don’t however, notice the pink, white and black pepper all that much.. it’s subtle and is like a fleeting undertone on my skin. It’s perfect!

Edit: on skin the pepper doesn’t come out but on clothes it does. Lasting power is not that great. But it’s still BOMB for the hot weather!

I feel like this one is tricky to describe. It is salt and pepper savoury woodiness but it is also gently sweet and powdery. I find it gets more sweet as you get further into the dry down. The closest real life thing I can think of to compare it to is warm salty sea side skin. In my opinion it doesn't really smell like olympea (I don't like this one) or womaninity. FWIW I get loads of compliments when I wear it, even though to me it smells like a skin scent.

faeriefractal

I received my rollerball of Reveal today, so this is trial one's impression.

Firstly, this comes off so so sweet in the opening. Sweet cashmere. I didn't even recall cashmeran in the notes, but yeah, I totally get that. It becomes saltier as time moves on, then back to sweet. But it's no Pink Sugar sweet, not at all. The sweetness comes from the iris+sandalwood combo I imagine–– it's powdery, like a makeup compact. Those two notes always turn powdery sweet on my skin.

Overall, I find Reveal totally and utterly sexy. Maybe the campaign is effective. Though, it's a cool evening, so the sillage is sitting close to my skin (also, it's a rollerball, lol)–– but I can see how this beauty would unfold under a burst of bright, unclouded sunshine. Can't wait to wear her more as the days heat up.

Reveal reminds me of BBW's Warm Vanilla Sugar (a staple scent of my childhood), but much richer, less alcoholic and biting, and well, unlike the quality that comes with cheap body spray. That said, Reveal feels so 2000's to me, but in a chic way. Like a sleek, self-aware young woman walking down the streets of Manhattan, wearing a mostly white (after Labor Day, of course) blazer-pant set and lightweight beige cashmere sweater (clavicles exposed! hints of sensuality..) with some vintage pearls and gold rings.

Lalilo1212

Sometimes I love this.. it feels light and carefree, but sometimes it feels too heavy that I regret putting it on. The opening hits me like a very dense perfume, and it makes me feel that this is probably more appropriate for cooler weather. After the opening leaves I'm left with a salty musky smell. Like you've been out all day at the beach. I find myself not wearing it that much because like a moody boyfriend i don't know what I'm gonna get that day.

Sparkleball22

Wow, Reveal! Where have you been? I’ve been all over the place with beach, salty, vanilla, amber, etc...in the search for this. Yes, it will remind you of a deep almost masculine or vintage type of scent at first, but within 10 seconds it smooths out into heaven. Warm, spicy, but with this liquidy undercurrent of sweet ambery goodness. It morphs over time to develop the salty marine thing but it’s subtle and warm. Great longevity, stays on clothes for days...
Derek Lam 2am Kiss shares some features of this but that one is more harsh and not as crowd-friendly IMO...
This has character without being a bomb, and everyone I know/care about loves it on me. When I had bad allergies years ago I tried this and couldn’t detect the sweetness, only pepper. It bothered my nose and I didn’t understand the magic. I’m so glad my olfactory sense healed up so I can enjoy this now!

pttk1981

I really like this perfume, but at first it was too strong and peppery for my taste, almost gave me a headache. Fortunately, ten minutes later it turned into a warm, slightly sweet scent with a hint of salt. There's definitely something delicate in the drydown, it smells clean and hundred times better than the beginning. The longevity is not impressive on me, but I'm very happy with this blind buy anyway.

StinkyTinky

DON’T BE SCARED! I’ve dodged this thing like covid for the past year. When I see any comparisons to Womanity my skin ripples like a horror movie.
That unkind caviar note. I literally have a physical reaction to the thought.
Reveal is not that.
It’s really quite simple and enjoyable. It’s summertime. Imagine you applied a floral lotion to your arms a few hours ago. The sun is drawing out the moisture since it’s hot outside. Your skin has a slight sheen. It’s tacky. There’s almost a sweet floral musk in the air around you. The breeze clips your arms and you feel a cool sensation. Ever so slight essence of salt from your skin mixing with the moisturizer.
This isn’t sweet enough to be Olympia, not enough cream or coconut to be Replica beach walk. Vanilla vibes, I don’t own, but I didn’t like it when I tested it, I do like Reveal.
This perfume is as sweet and beautiful as you are. In 90 degree heat..

wquila

I can tolerate Olympea but this. This opens up Angel Mugler for some weird reason and settles to Olympea without the salted caramel. Salty and a lil rusty. And sweaty.

mldaleali28

Blind buy based on your reviews, I absolutely love it as a day fragrance, classy and elegant. The opening reminds me a bit of Twilight-Sarah Jessica Parker, but it’s more refined; anyway, they go in two completely different directions in the drydown: sjp is heavily incensed, ck is salty cashmeran. Projection moderate, longevity-amazing for such a subtle scent.

Fionaw

This was the first perfume I ever bought. Up to that point I had only owned Victorias Secret and Bath and Body Works body sprays. I recall being in a duty free store at a South American airport, as a sixteen year old heading back from Spring Break with my family, smelling all the perfumes they had out and then choosing this one.
This was the 'chosen' one on that day because I did not want a floral scent. This scent is clean, soft, and warm.
To my nose, the salt, sandalwood, and peppercorn are the most forward notes, especially after drydown. I wore this scent for the first time in a few years, and although it's not to my tastes anymore, it is still a pleasant, inoffensive scent. It's not one I see myself reaching for often, as I'm much more into gourmands nowadays, but is great for the office.
The longevity and sillage are not incredible--qualities that I really value in high end perfumes--but sprayed on my sweater the scent is sticking around 7ish hours after one spray. I would consider the sillage somewhere between intimate and moderate, intimate for skin sprays and moderate for sprays on clothing.

aeanian

It didn't say in the notes that is has some green notes but this is what I smell, as well as the spiciness and lots of woodiness. There is almost no sweetness to it, it's very woody based. The bottle is pretty, but I can't wear this perfume, literally makes me a bit nauseous and gives me headache (this usually happens with lots of woody notes in a scent but it's a personal thing).

Mad-Demoiselle

I instantly fell in love with it since I smelled it the first time

I rarely repeat purchases except for this one

very great value, especially to its uniqueness

it's warm woody, suits warm nights or moderate days

it's perfectly blended, I couldn't detect the notes prior to Fragrantica

igalmusic

I don't understand how people say this is masculine?? This is very sensual, skin, sexy- feminine scent, super unique! Very inexpensive, beautiful perfume. I prefer to wear it in the colder months.

Decode

I bought 5 bottles of this perfume several months ago because for once I actually had the money to buy more perfume and this is one of my favorites of all time. This is perfect both both cold and warm weather. I think that everyone's descriptions of warm skin and the beach on a sunny day are a perfect description of this perfume when worn in warm weather. I also think it's perfect for cold weather. It reminds of a salty piece of wood, like being on a cloudy beach. To be honest I don't quite know what exactly it is that makes me love this so much, but I think it has something to do with the fact that it doesn't smell "perfume-y, if that makes sense. It lasts a long time but sits closer to the skins and to me that makes it more special. It smells pretty natural and comforting. I absolutely love this one.

medusa666

Unisex and mostly towards men's scent.

Afryka

I have been using it from time to time for over a year and I am still undecided. Sometimes it feels too sweet and I can detect vanilla, which is not even listed in the ingredients list. My husband likes it on me and he says it gives the seaside vibe.

hexed

Oh my... I've been enjoying this for a while now but today? Today especially smelling it gives me an ASMR tingle and makes me shiver, in the best of ways. I prefer this in the cold, despite its nod to sunny beaches. It just makes you smell as if upon getting cut, it would be sweet, heavenly tree sap pouring out of the wound instead of blood.

L.A.B33

This was a blind buy for me and not a bad one. It is definitely unique and quite salty. I have a love-hate relationship with salt in perfumes and prefer them to be paired with sweet or fresh scents.

The salt here is paired with musky and powdery scents, which creates an awesome olfactory experience.

It is a great fragrance and a hell of a bargain, but I ended up passing it along to my mom because I liked the salt and sweet combo in Olympea better for me.

Lalouve<3

This perfume is indeed unique... up to a point... what do I mean with that?It is as unique as Thierry Mugler's womanity is - and why the reference? because the base notes (which thankfully last the longest at least on my skin) are very very reminiscent of womanity - in fact they smell really alike, and thankfully they smell like the best part of womanity (not like its top notes which on womanity are too much and the sweetness battles the saltiness and all the other interesting notes - Calvin Klein smells like the toned down best and longest part of womanity when its sweetness dissipates and leaves that special mystery womanity is).

However Reveal is straight unisex on its very top notes- nothing too strong or masculine-, then it smells a bit weird which I do not care about but thankfully that lasts for a few minutes only, and then the whole womanity vibe enters, but done less sweet but so very interesting, like a perfect mix of Calvin Klein One -perhaps- (you know that Kalvin Klein vibe) and womaity, and then it becomes a very nice version of womanity, subtle, non sweet, but present as it projects as being part of your skin.

All in all a very very interesting perfume, which is better worn in rainy weather. As it is a very salty/water based perfume, I don't know how to describe it- it is like it is part of the elements of nature, nothing generic or synthetic about it, it is just so special... <3

This is an airy/watery beautiful perfume, that will be perfect for those who appreciated the womanity vibe, but had a love/hate relationship with it (loving some notes of it, but hated some others). As with womanity, this is a perfume to be experienced gently, let it project and experience as is, let it reach your nose instead of sticking your nose on your skin. It is ethereal and magical and you have to let it work its magic as it knows best. This is not a skin scent, this, to me, is like a sea fairy, a salty feathery beauty <3

edit/ps: this one and agent provocateur blue silk are very similar- both have this pencil shaving woodsy smell which I love, however I adore blue silk more than I do reveal, hence I love layering it with creamy fragrances like azarro twin or pair it with narciso for her edt <3

Agnes81

This is one of my absolute favorite perfumes. On my skin is is warm, salty and slightly sweet and spicy. It has a soft warmth like a mild summer evening breeze touching bare skin or a light airy cashmere sweater on a beautiful fall day. It isn't heavy but it easily lasts more than 12 hours on my skin.
The opening is masculine but it quickly settles into a soft, warm skin scent that I find sexy and feminine. But at the same time I think this would smell wonderful on a man. I think it is one of those perfumes who smells very different on each persons skin.
I wear it year round and find it equally beautiful in summer and winter.

TammyRoxanne

I love this perfume.. and I did blind buy it based on the notes listed and a couple of YouTube reviews, but it was a safe blind buy for me because I just knew it was my style (plus it’s not super expensive)
So to me Reveal is almost identical to Vanilla Vibes by Juliette has a gun. When I wore Reveal alone, I kept thinking all day- Wow! This is an exact dupe for vanilla vibes! But when I wore reveal on one wrist and vanilla vibes on the other wrist, it was very easy to spot the differences between the two. VV has a stronger salty edge and a stronger caramel note, while Reveal still has those, but also has more mineral tones- I can’t really describe it, but something more silvery. However, both are easily summed up by two words- “salted caramel”. I’m not usually a big fan of caramelly scents but the salt gives this the perfect balance.
I don’t find that this smells like Replica’s Beach walk, that one is much more coconutty and straight up sunscreen. Fawn by Ellis Brooklyn is closer to Reveal than Beach walk is.
Anyway, I do recommend it if you know you like these notes. It may not pull salted caramel on you, but it sure does on me!
* I know it’s discontinued but I just got it from Walmart!
**Oh and it’s pretty long lasting too!

DieT CroaK

What a hidden little gem this is!!!

I was on the hunt for a fragrance that had a primary salt accord. From all the reviews, this seemed like a pretty safe bet. The 3.4 oz bottle that I scored off EBay was produced during the debut in 2014. From what I can understand, the older bottles are better. Was it reformulated prior to it being discontinued? This is definitely a beach fragrance. The description of “solar wood” is accurate in my experience. This is what I envision: you’re on the beach breathing in the salt and sand. You lather up your bronzed skin with brown sugar body lotion and sunscreen. The breeze from a nearby forest rolls in and bam! That’s the complexity of Reveal. This is a very niche fragrance and there’s definitely a bit of a masculine touch here. It’s unisex for sure. I do detect sweetness here but nowhere near gourmand. Some people are saying caramel but it’s like saltwater taffy to my nose. I blind bought this and I am totally happy with it but I wouldn’t dub this a safe blind buy per se. If you enjoy a fragrance that is salty and fresh, you will probably love this.

The longevity and sillage on this are outstanding! I sprayed this right before my work shift and could smell it on my skin as I was getting ready for bed that night. I could also smell whiffs even through my mask. So be aware, the juice is strong in this one. I guess even Mother Nature likes this on me because I got stung by a bee right on my pulse point where this had been sprayed. That’s never happened with another perfume so let that be a testament to how natural and organic this smells, for better or worse. Even though we are heading into the fall in the US, I will be wearing this well into winter. Don’t let the beachy description fool you. This is not JUST a summery scent. This is comfort food in a bottle. It’s just so warm, cozy and relaxing. The bottle is the only thing about a Reveal that I don’t appreciate. It’s really odd. It can’t be displayed upright on my tray or on a flat surface. I am forced to keep it in the box. I suppose you can display it horizontally but I don’t trust my clumsy hands lol. I just have a vision of a domino effect happening so in the box it stays. This is absolutely a dream fragrance! I don’t understand how nobody talks about this. It is definitely one of CK’s better scents and surprisingly CK has had a lot of W’s in my experience. If you see it, grab it. It’s worth a try.

Edit 2/2024:
I can see a slight resemblance to Dior’s Dune but I just found Dune to be way too dry and severe. It always reminded me of hay bales upon a beach. Reveal does have a dry bitterness to it at the base also but I feel like it is the sweeter, fresher counterpart to Dune.

Luccia

Very mild for me, more of an atmospheric scent toner, super useful for layering when you want to take the sometimes screechy edge off of certain strong florals like neroli or preserve a comfort scent mood that is tending toward overwhelmingly powdery. I can imagine it would be good with smokey or tobacco types that dwell a bit harder and longer in that territory than I’d want sometimes, without killing the lines of a complex perfume. I actually sized up to a second large one after trying the first smaller size. Found myself using it often. Super affordable. Soothing, elegant, relaxing.

Wenders

This perfume was a blind buy for me. I used to wear Red Promisia by Sonia Kashuk and it was my signature scent. It worked so well with my body chemistry and I constantly got compliments on how I smelled. It was discontinued so I have been searching for my new signature scent but have had no luck. I’m not sure if this will be my new favorite scent but as of now I really love it. There’s not a lot of things that let me down more than blind purchasing a perfume for it just to be a disappointment. This did not disappoint! I cannot put into words how much I love it. I am someone who is a lover of cheapie perfumes but I also really enjoy a more complex high end perfume. This meets that criteria for me right in the middle. I’m not blown away but I definitely love it and it will have a place among my frequently used perfumes.
It’s definitely more of a mature scent. It’s classy and sophisticated. It’s warm and cozy yet soft and fresh all at the same time. I picked up on the musky/powdery notes and the sea salt is sticking out as well. Such a beautiful combination. I say if you like mature scents, this is for you. It can be worn day or night. It’s not too strong so you can wear it to the office.
I absolutely love the dry down. Very delicate.
All in all I give this one 10/10!

fyetan

Right off the bat I'm getting salty sandalwood. It's funny how tastes change because while I think it's pleasant and I might enjoy this occasionally in the fall or winter, a few years ago when I first encountered this I immediately washed it off.

Projection is low and longevity is quite low - less than an hour in and it's a skin scent that has turned into a generic masculine perfume.

Give it a few more years and maybe I'll like it more.

bdragonfly12345

When I saw the 10mL rollerball for $7 at an online discounter, I jumped at the chance to try it. This is completely different from anything I own, and the reviews are so positive, I really hoped that I would find a new favourite. Also, since the 50mL is being discounted half price (possibly discontinued?!) at my local Shoppers, I figured I'd better not wait!

Sadly, this is really just "meh" to me: have you ever tried those salt + pepper potato chips? That is what this perfume smells like to me! It's ok, but I don't see me reaching for it out of excitement to wear it. Rather, I will bring to work for those days when I need a fragrance top-up. The rating I would give it (based on scent, longevity, originality, quality/price, versatility, and likelihood of me repurchasing it) would be 70.7/100.

It's interesting that this really leans really 'masculine' to me, while "Reveal for Men" really seems up my alley, and sounds like it leans more 'feminine'. I will definitely try to find that one next.

smilesayj

I've just been smitten by this. This is a beautifully done, musky ambergris that isn't overwhelming.

I find myself unable to resist purchasing this. Doing it right now.

Edit: Purchased. This is a favorite in my collection and smells like nothing else I own or have smelled.

Viktoria8267

This is powdery, nice and lovely.
Stays on long, i wear it often, they say i smell nice when i wear this. Nice mystique, salty, smell. Give it a try and see yourself. Give it a chance. I will always have one at home. Love it!

Eugenia Olesen

Wow... I was washed over by a wave of the salty sea... Everything is beautiful, balanced, high quality. Variation on "Womanity" for sure, but this option is easier and more tender.

Austrian_in_Denmark

Do I like it or not? Revelation still needs to reveal this to me, hehehe. I am on the fence about it.

On the one hand it is unusual, enticing, and elegant. The last time I wore it, I got compliments galore. On my skin I get the salty notes, the sweetness from the iris, and the skin-like notes from the ambregris. Also, it lasts forever - with moderate sillage.

On the other hand it makes me slightly queasy, almost seasick. I guess the cashmeran is to blame for this. So I had to sell my bottle, even though I find it very pretty.

I would say: Try this, if you are fine with cashmeran.

AlanneSedai

What an incredibly addicting scent! I picked this up when I saw it had a likeness to Kenzo World Power and I could pick this one up a lot cheaper.

At first whiff I thought I'd made a huge mistake (Kenzo starts much fresher) but just a few seconds later it morphs into a salty seductive scent that reminds me of hot summer days. On me it has an almost dirty scent, but in a good way if that makes sense.

I was very careful with my first spritz, because I thought it was too harsh, but now I applied some more because I can't stop smelling my wrists.

It lasts incredibly long (after sleep and shower it still lingered on my wrist). Totally in love with this scent, but I definitely think it's for summer days.

LuSlovakia

What a pity :( on my skin this is delicate sweet-salty cashmeran, heavenly! But first 2 hours its layered by super strong oriental notes, not modern gourmand ones, but old, almost masculine and headache inducing. It ruins this fragrance for me:/

igalmusic

This is just STUNNING!Calvin Klein the best creation for sure, its very unique, sexy and for me this is a summer fragrance , this could be a signature fragrance. It's like wearing a second skin. I love it!

YesVeruca

This goes from 60 to zero at warp speed. It first sprays on as an oriental, almost an homage to Obsession, and then just drops to a salty bleak skin scent. I love perfumes like this (Dune, BOND 9 Coney Island). The sea scent that lingers is wonderful and every now and then gives a hint of what it first was. To me this is intimate and confident. Easy to wear.
I come from an era when CK scents were Everything- Obsession, Eternity, Escape were the holy trio. I lost the tune somewhat with CK One and never picked it back up. The brand lost it’s status and I moved on too. I am pleasantly surprised that they continued to use brilliant perfumers for the brand and have some interesting scents. I never even look at the CK One flankers but Truth, Contradiction and Euphoria have been interesting scents that almost seem to suffer for their CK branding.

SalinasL

On me this starts off with a blast of peppery wood, so much so that I almost want to wash it off. There’s nothing soft, creamy, sweet, floral, powdery, or anything else to add balance to the harsh wood and pepper. But within an hour it morphs into an almost honeyed sandalwood, very similar to Estée Lauder’s Sensuous. I wouldn’t say I smell any saltiness in this, but I can almost sense it working in the background, as if it’s drawing out something sweet and honeylike from my own chemistry. Since I was really looking for that salty ambergris, this is a bit of a disappointment to me despite being nice enough in its own right.

jule9

It opens very dirty, sultry and salty. The difference between opening and later notes is perhaps the greatest I know. After some time the salt clears out, fading to a woody, elegant powder. It holds very close to skin. For me this was a cozy scent for staying at home on the weekends, fitting for soft clothes and silence.

bel.gravia

Thank goodness I finally made the decision to buy Reveal!
Alluring and inviting, like your second skin but better 😍 I am loving it!
A woody, sunny, summer evening, sunscreen and kisses perfume.

Seaworthy

Ooooh! This does smell EXACTLY like my skin after spending a day on the beach! The first spray is pure alcohol to my nose, but after a few minutes the sweetness starts to appear...and plenty of salt. This is how I smell after applying suntan lotion then walking on a windy beach, scouting for seashells, digging in the sand, playing in the waves and sunbathing afterward. How skin smells as the sun dries the salt on it mingled with the sea and sweat. Absolutely glorious! This is totally a skin scent on me. It might project a little for the first hour then it stays as a skin scent for about 5-6 hours later and if you press nose to skin a bit longer than that. This is a perfect summer fragrance, not too sweet. This is the smell of lounging on a beach in the Pacific Northwest, I have done that many, many times and those are some of the best days of my life. Happy memories!

Daisylinne

Although I have learned in the past that blind buys are not the best idea, perfumes like Reveal are the ones that keep me coming back to buying a perfume without having any clue as to how it might react with my skin.

When I first found out about Reveal, the notes intrigued me, because they were so different from my usual indolic white flowers, sugary orange flowers and vanilla-caramel gourmands. I don't know why, but something about the salt, cashmere and ambergris combination aroused my curiosity - so naturally, I caved in and bought a bottle.

My bottle arrived today and oh, my! This perfume transports me to another realm! It is as if I am on a beach, waves crashing furiously against the shore. The sun is well-hidden beneath a blanket of milky clouds - but these are not clouds of storm. The salt permeates the air. I am wearing a long flowy dress and taking a walk by myself.

At first spray, I am enveloped by a combination of peppery and marine notes that remind me of a fragrance from my childhood. It is masculine, but it goes away after a few minutes. What I am left with is a profoundly feminine scent, infused with salt, just a tiny hint of pepper and something slightly sweet. There is something animalic in it, but nothing repugnant. There are no flowers, just the raw smell that your skin has after swimming in the sea.

I don't really find any similarities with Olympea, as others before me have, and I am glad that I don't, because Olympea tends to be „too much” on my skin. I can understand, however, why some people might find it similar to Womanity.

Reveal is truly beautiful and it is such a shame it got discontinued. I am glad I got my hands on a bottle - and even more glad that this was a perfectly successful blind buy!

mychinarose

This is my second time to wear Reveal since I bought and originally reviewed it in 2018, and I just had a revelation! Reveal is definitely a younger sibling to Calvin Klein Obsession. It has the same ambery warmth of the common DNA of vetiver, musk and amber. It really, really, really smells similar (to my scent memory at least). The OG Obsession from the 80s was just a powerhouse frag, and either you loved it or you couldn't stand it. I was a perfume collector even back then, even though I was a teen, so I HAD to have it, although I don't remember actually wearing it that frequently. But Reveal is taking me back in time, in a good way. It is definitely more wearable and it really is beautiful. SO sad that it is discontinued, it really didn't get a long run, and I never saw it in stores anywhere (I bought mine at a discounter). If you can get it, I recommend giving it a go! I'm going to wear it a lot this summer :)

iris_iris

Why would they discontinue this amazing, outstanding, niche quality salt-based fragrance? Come on guys, this is too much. You can't just launch one sweet gourmand after another floral fruity. Since the tragic Euphoria reformulation I'm left with only Obsession to enjoy by CK for now... Take a f...n chance, will ya? (Carlin quote). Create something original and stick to it (Guerlain did it with Jicky and Shalimar, Dior did it with Poison and Dune, You can do it too!)

I believe CK can do more Obsessions, Euphorias and Reveals in future!

mevans

I blind bought Reveal today with only the benefit of reviews. It's being discontinued and I came across a couple of 100ml bottles on the $20 shelf at Shoppers. So yeah, that price factored into my decision too. I'm so happy I bought it, actually I bought the two. It's not a typical scent that's been done a million times. It has an inherently sexy quality for sure. But it's also is sort of fresh, the salty, ambergris (not amber) and almost aquatic notes are wonderful. Despite all the different pepper notes, I don't find it spicy. It's woody, beachy, musky and natural and it all combines to come across in a very sensual, somewhat unisex way. I have nothing else like it. If you have a set notion of what a perfume should be, floral or sweet or fresh, then Reveal may not be for you. It's different, it goes off the rails a bit. But it's so classy, alluring and sophisticated. It feels niche, not like a big brand that you would expect to play it safe with a blend of mass-appeal notes. I'm looking forward to wearing this over the next few months. It's giving me a good summer scent vibe. Sillage is modest but I do catch the scent when I move around. Decent performance, it lasts a few hours. Also, I really love that bottle.

Calatea

I didn't mean to like it as since the 90's I considered CK brand as cheap and predictable and unoriginal and worn by people not so much into perfume... Well, I couldn't be more mistaken. Brand aside, this has become my signature sent since last summer. I now have stocked up some 300 ml as it has been discontinued.

What attracts me to this scent is that it has no flower notes, yet it is feminine, sexy and classy. It is so well blended that I cannot distinguish any single notes, but the overall experience is really good... Salt and amber.

I am currently using up my third bottle and this has seldom happened before. This scent is quite versatile, it's good both in winter and summer, not overpowering, appropriate in any occasion, love it and worry cause it won't be easy to find a replacement once it's gone.

Taurien

Reveal is a very particular fragrance, an scent which is extremely sensual, even sexual. For me it is unisex and it reminds me to its masculine version a bit, although that one is more spicy. It might also resemble Womanity for its salty facet but Reveal is less sweet than Mugler's parfum. Something in it also reminds to Euphoria, also by Calvin Klein. This is my second bottle and I keep a third as a back-up as it has been discontinued.

The parfum starts quite strong and it has an almost metallic feeling for the first seconds, probably due to the big dominance of the salt note. After 5 minutes I start feeling the iris mixed with ambroxan and my love for it starts. I find it addictive and very sexy.

It has a moderate projection and a duration of 7-8 hours in my skin. It last for days in clothes.

I think it is a great fragrance for sensual scents lovers who are in the search of something different but I would say it is not a safe blind buy.

Never blind buy this, you need to really like this baby to buy it. I feel this is one of those "if it's meant to be, it will be"- perfumes, it is not meant for everyone, some people will adore it but some people- like me, will find it hard to accept it. It's very salty and masculine, unique scent indeed but to my nose not in an appealing way. I'm glad it worked out for other people though.

Beautiful bottle, great sillage, longevity is around 4 hours.

Vikki1985

I really dont like this fragrance, it smells far too masculine for my liking, however - I've just tried Dkny stories and it smells 99.9 percent the same as this but the 1 percent difference seems to make ALL the difference, it isnt so masculine it's really quite addictive. They dont share any of the same notes which is really odd but they are definately sisters, only Dkny stories got slightly better gene's, it is like the perfected version of this and I'm really loving it. Very very wierd how I hate this one with a passion but that I love Stories and they arent all that different 🤔 but it is what it is 🤷, so if you dont like this one definately give Stories a go x

Страхотен аромат - море в шише. Солен,изтънчен,вълнуващ. Създава усещене за морски бриз....

Eternity Girl

Reveal is a fantastic summer fragrance and I couldn't agree more that it's woody, powdery, musky, salty + amber with a ever so light smattering of iris. Each of these notes are distinctive but blend seemlessly producing a beautifully uplifting perfume.
I feel like Im on holidays at the beach !!!
Superb.

auroramaria

This is a very underrated fragrance.I love it but it is a bit hard to come by at present. This scent is so creamy powdery sweet with a touch of acquatic notes which complement the fragrance beautifully.Personally I wear it during summer as it is fresh sweet and leaves a gorgeous dusty ambery trail on skin that lasts for hours.

HighCountryEsq

I've had two different bottles of Reveal, a newer bottle that was more Creamy/Salty/Ambergris/Cashmeran and I currently have a first batch bottle that's more Peppery/Ambergris/Iris/Woody with a cleaner/crisper feel. Both smell fantastic and have equal performance as far as I could tell, but I prefer the clean/crisp feel of the original batch. I think Reveal is a gem for both women and men that shouldn't be overlooked.

I bought samples after reading the best of vanillas article and reading how the reviews are all over the place I wanted to test it out fir myself- I am a vanilla lover in spite of this being recommended for ppl not fans of vanilla-

The opening was very unisex/ masculine to my nose- every time I spray it I think that it smells like a good smelling guy- not so much in a cologne way but a freshly showered clean guy...

I own olympea and recently received samples of Hermes L’Ambre Merveilles which both have salt notes- olympea was my 1st perfume with salt, so to my untrained nose I didn’t know what salt smelled like in fragrance but really liked olympea as I love sweet vanilla scents- after testing Hermes L’Ambre Merveilles and reveal I can now discern what salt smells like- it is fresh and clean smelling skin if that makes any sense

Reveal is comforfiting cozy and fresh and sweet in a non cloying way- def not gourmand- I think the comparison to so many perfumes is bc of the shared salt note but nit nceassrily that the fragrances smell the same- more like the same family and distant cousins...some of them 3rd cousins- I did find this similar to L’Ambre Merveilles

To me this is a skin scent and non offensive- It is office friendly and easy to wear on the daily- if you enjoy fresh out of the shower intimate fragrances I think this is one you should check out

Jasmindee

Soft, salty and warm.

Someone below said it was sweater weather perfume and I couldn't agree more.

I imagine sitting on a beach with the love of my life by a fire, both of us had just been in the sea and the salt in the air is strong and therapeutic. It really is a warming scent to me, and it makes me feel cosy and content when I wear it.

caro78

Guys what’s going on

Smells similar to KENZO world , olympea , Armani lei , allure etc ? I don’t understand these scents have nothing in common

I’m thinking about blind buy but reviews are not helping lol

saguna

I can;t understand why no one mentioned that this is a duplicate for Mugler Innocent. It's exactly the same !

moonrises

Attractive, unique, salty, peppery, semi sweet, fresh, animalic and warm. For me, this is sweater weather fragrance! I love this perfume so much. It suits my body chemistry very well!

loverdoll78264

A soft, oceanic scent. Lots of warmth and delicate sweetness, with a salty, powdery undercurrent. Reminds me a lot of Balmain Ambre Gris; though this is softer. Both are loves of mine.

sibaraa

A salty beachy sweet scent, very similar to many in the market. The only difference is that this one is a tad powdery from the iris note, nothing overwhelming ofcourse. Not my personal taste, but it smells nice.

Affe24

I do not own it, but I tested it this week in the store.
I am looking for a beach scent: salt, marine, sand and algae notes.
Upon spraying this one ,I felt the pepper notes, and my impression was of a retro smell, suitable for mature ladies ( I'm im early 30s but still did not see it appropriate for this age ).
Drydown on me is very sweet, I feel some faint burnt sugar / incense notes.
Nothing fresh, nothing related to beach / salt.
Sillage and longevity seem to be good ( more than 6 hours )
For me it is a heavy smell, I cannot imagine wearing this in the middle of the summer ( 35+ degrees in central Europe ).
I also do not see it as a casual day to day smell, but more for elegant occasions.
As it is not the summer/ beach vibe I was looking for ,I'll give it a pass.

Hewlett

For reference, I normally don't get along with scents from Calvin Klein, but seeing that this one appears to be discontinued, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing out on something good.

Lucky me, they're still on the shelf im the local drugstore, so yay! Testing away!

First sniff from the bottle was so horrible that almost threw me off. It was a very sharp and unpleasent smell of pencil shavings. Very odd.

Anyways, I tried it on my skin and my initial thought was "Nope, not for me!".

Though! The rest of the day it settled in and became this exact smell of skin after a day in the sun, including the salty note! But, the vetiver note kinda tickled my nose in a bad way.

I'm not fond of vetiver.

But, as the vetiver faded away I was actually really enjoying this "tanned naked skin" scent!

I agree that this resembles Paco Rabanne's Olympéa. Though Olympéa works better on me, mainly because of the absence of vetiver.

AlexandraTroush

I adore Mugler's Womanity so I had high hopes for this one.

This, alas, has the same vibe as Paco Rabanne's Olympea, which my skin disagrees with. It actually induces nausea for me. I wish it didn't, I really do.

Salty scents are exciting and out of the ordinary in this world full of fruity-florals and celebrity perfumes (some of which are interesting, but most are sickeningly obnoxious and loud), and I oh so hoped it would be a new gem in my collection.

One spray is enough to make me suffer through a whole day, so I would say it is quite long-lasting.

glam-parfumista

When I first sprayed it smelled exactly like Allure Senuselle EDT! They have a couple of notes in common, like musk, pink pepper, vetiver, iris and on both perfumes, these notes are the most noticeable on my skin, so for me this is a great dupe of Allure Sensuelle edt. Lucky me! 😋 It reminds me of my childhood, Allure Sensuelle edt was one of my mom's favourite.
Reveal is a fresh, clean, airy, musky-peppery perfume. Truly a feminine and sensual fragrance. On my skin, the only notes I can smell are salt, musk, vetiver and the pepper and it stays exactly like this till it fades away after 6-7 hours. I don't get anything else. But is beautiful and versatile. I can wear it all year round.

KateElizabeth

Blind bought a rollerball of Reveal recently. Once it settles on the skin I get a sweet, slightly caramel and marshmallow scent. It has the slightly salty/woody note that keeps it from being too cloying, but I don’t think it really works well together. I’m wearing this currently in 85 degree, humid weather, which I don’t think is the best for this scent, but I’ll give it another try in the fall. It’s definitely not something I would buy a full bottle of, but if it holds up well in cooler weather, I may keep the rollerball.

olivemango

Strange -- I don't get any salt or pepper. It smells very creamy, almost fruity on my skin.

aguschinita

I wish someone would have mentioned that this perfume is clogging and very similar to Emporio Armani Lei. It would have saved me to spend money on this.
It's headache inducing and not suitable for summer. It's sweet and just very clogging. Definitely a no.

Shugenja

This reminds me of the smell of our skin when my girlfriend and I used to lie next to the lake on hot sunny summer afternoons. The smell of youth, passion, and fun. Youth has its own beauty, and this smells like it.

brebtalka40

Salt&pepper(s)! Love it!
In winter, I liked it a lot, but the real magic reveals itself on hot late-spring days. It is breathtaking.
Such a shame they have discontinued it!

nika21

It starts with a strong pencil shavings smell, that other people had mentioned. However, this sharp opening lasts only a couple of minutes on my skin, then it becomes a bit sweeter and peppery. Salt, sandalwood and cashmeran become almost velvety in the core of this lovely fragrance, which lasts for full eight hours. The drydown is the best for me: salty sensual musk.
I totaly get negative reviews, this scent will not suit everyone and of course depends on skin chemistry.

evapap181977

imo the best female scent from CK.unique!indeed salty reminds also another favourite.LDI Miyake.both smelling summer to me but i find this more sensual because of the additional vanilla.total value for money and the basic perfume for this summer.a big thank you to reviewers who made me discover this gem!
edit..became one of my favourites.earned its rightful place to my top 10 list. if the rumors that it is been discontinued it are true i ll have to make a stash of this gem.i d like to add that this scent is at least outstanding and wrongly ignored .try it while it still exists.i already made a stock of it so i ll smell this until i die...i think..lol

Brunette_Bombshell

Not a fan of CK fragrances but you guys, I don't know what is wrong with my skin but on me, this one smells very similar to Chanel Allure and I am so happy! It works great with my chemistry. It's elegant, charismatic, natural, clean, crisp, salty, rich and feminine. I hope they never discontinue this one.
I would wear this in spring with a skin-tone hue trench coat and a fluid pale lilac dress.
It's quite long lasting and has good projection.

I got to try a tester for this yesturday... the lady at the store couldn’t tell if this was the male version or female version but I knew from the bottle...

This is a big MEH to me. I do not understand the hype train on this fragrance... but I’d suspect it’s the same thing that propels stuff like YSL Nuit homme etc.... boring as hell, safe and for folks who want to smell just like everyone else wearing black and feeling unique as they strut around.

This is an innocuous MALE scent marketed for ladies.... I get no individual notes listed here, it quite literally just smells like a few thousand other scents out there.

If you actuallly consider yourself into fragrances and have more than a couple, this can be skipped extremely easily.

Nope... probably as unique as plain white t-shirt. Or almost anything designed by hypemaster of the planet Virgil Abloh....

“SHITTY”

Joys of life

Sweet and salty and powdery like...fresh baked pretzel-doh scented dryer sheets. Those jumbo pretzels with the mushy inside.

relativelystoic

This was a blind buy for me and got it because the "salty" scents were starting to enter the market (years ago). When i first smelled this, I was not sure how I will react, but it was definitely salty and little bit sweet (caramel like). Beautiful and interesting at the same time. A totally different league.

gtabasso

aquatic full of salt, ambergris, pepper, iris and cashmeran with a hint of musk and sandalwood

dylan.branson

I think this suits men as much as women. Not salty to me. I detect the amber most. Woody and pepper notes. Not musky to me. Decent fragrance. Lasts all day.

hexed

If I can get this much out of it in a -20 degree celsius weather, I can't wait to try it in the summer.
The salt lends an almost gourmand quality to the fragrance, highlighting any sweetness in it before ending up in the seaside.

Chischek

This was a blind buy as I was curious about the salty note everyone keeps talking about. I could get a FB on the cheap and I was looking forward to trying it out. Upon application on my skin it started out as a warm, sweet but salty sent, fairly nice but... it ended up smelling like a salty, wet dog. It's a shame really because the opening smelled so nice. I'm gonna keep it and test it out again during the summer.

letamercy

After months of trying to understand this fragrance, I finally get it, on a hot and slightly windy day.

First off, I have historically struggled with salty notes, as they smell like brine water (with the smell of rotten aquatic plants) on my skin. I am also not particularly fond of coastal climates, so I try to avoid scents reminiscent of such an environment.

This however is quite lovely, in the right environment and at the right temperature.Something about the way the sandalwood and the iris work with the salt and ambergris makes this so lovely and warm. Plus the entire ensemble works so well with my skin on a hot day. It is, as most have said, a sort of "skin scent but better" type of fragrance. I'd say this is way better than Olympea.

It's warm, salty and slightly woody in the beginning, with the salt, ambergris, sandalwood and cashmeran taking center stage. The pepper is quite prominent as well at the start (and I love it).

It gets softer and warmer towards the dry down, and slightly powdery, probably from the iris (though I am beginning to think this is orris and not iris). The salty notes are a little less pronounced here, but the most dominant notes on me are sandalwood, iris/orris, and a little bit of musk. I quite like the dry down.

Lasts an entire day (over 7 hours), and stays close to the skin for most of it.
I will be wearing this a little more often during the warmer (and possibly) humid months, but I'm still not sure I will re-purchase once I am done with my current bottle.

Nina.84

Finally I found my "your skin but better" perfume! I love this fragrance ... this is so mine. At the beginning I perceive the salty note (but light and pleasant as a breeze from the sea) ... slowly, however, the scent becomes more and more warm and cozy. In the end, a warm skin smell remains on me. And I love it.

drawingmaniac35

A very versatile fragrance in my opinion. I can see myself wearing it all-year-round. I don't really catch the salt on my skin though, it starts quite sharp and almost unisex (which I love). It makes it rather daring in the begining but not long after it becomes much softer and sits a bit closer to the skin. I feel as if Reveal is made to lure someone to come closer to you and then it softens so only that one person can feel you and no one else. That's also when the sandalwood and cashmerean kick in and make the scent extremely sexy and inviting. Also it lasts! A total winner for me.

Sherine777

I love this one, despite the fact that I can't pick up the salty note at all! I have sniffed and sniffed I simply don't pick it up. Probably a chemistry thing, maybe I'm saltier than the perfume.

Anyway, what I do get is the most refreshing pepper blended with delicious creaminess coming from the Orris, it's actually Orris that is listed on CK website and not Iris, a really nice Musky Sandalwood/Cashmeran dry-down.

There is no sweetness here, it feels like a fresh oriental, it has depth but not heaviness, fresh and warm at the same time. It does fit into a category by itself as the first Oriental Solar.A really good one.

If you are like me, looking for something that is not tutti frutti but not too heavy either, this is the one.

Silage and Longevity are moderate though. It does turn into a skin scent quickly.

P.S. I don't get the similarity to Olympia, listing wise they are similar but in reality when I smelled Olympia all I could smell was a VERY SWEET cloying bonbon-like Jasmine.

Hippolyta

My first impression of CK Reveal can be described as... a bit underwhelming .

I enjoy the scent itself. There's this creamy skin scent with a touch of salt in it. I can't pinpoint any particular note at the moment, but in the dry down there's definitely something slightly powdery and nutty. This makes the fragrance even more interesting. I would've even consider it as a perfect everyday scent, if I hadn't have to constantly play cat and mouse with this perfume.

Although I was quite generous when applying it, after two hours I have to put my nose to my wrist in order to smell it. From time to time I will get this whiff of cozy salty aroma and I wonder is it Reveal or just my memory of it.

Of course, I would wait to see if with time the frag opens up to me in warmer weather.

TonyAKAMrClean

I love love love this! Even as a man!

This scent is easily distinguishable on a woman, very unique (although Replica Beach Walk is very similar), but it actually takes on its own scent according to the wearer. I love wearing this myself in the summer time and it vibes EXTREMELY well with my skin chemistry.

The scent honestly reminds me of pool days! I've never been to a beach, but this certainly smells like sun, salty air, and clean sweaty skin in the BEST way imaginable. Or like fresh moist air near the chlorine pool and Banana Boat sun tan oil, at the very least. One description may be more exotic than the other, but they're both winners in my book.

Lasts ALL day. Projection is actually VERY strong, although the scent is rather light. I agree with the others, less is more, and it never takes more than 3 sprays for me.

I gave a bottle of this to an ex girlfriend and ended up buying a bottle for myself to keep. Not that it reminds me of her, but instead it reminds me of summer and I really love wearing it! This is a keeper. It may be discontinued, but it's still readily available, currently.

Fragaria

Comparisons to Bath and Body Works Lovely Dreamer!!!???
They discontinue REVEAL...and now people are going to buy Bath and Body Works!!!???

I won't HAVE it!!! (stomp, sTOmP, STOmp!)

How darrrre they ^%)$!@#@! mess with MY lovely Reveal...

charcolatebar

This is a nice, salty-sweet cashmeran aroma with a touch of pepper and, as others have mentioned, pencil shavings. I can't pick out the iris but it contributes a sprinkle of powder. Definitely agree with the comparisons to salted caramel!

The packaging is smooth and streamlined. Like many CK perfumes and the brand as a whole, this has a sporty feel, but it's a soft, clean and sexy sportiness. It's as if you got home from the gym, had a shower and put on clean soft clothes, but can still feel the glow in your cheeks.

Longeveity is decent but sillage dies down quickly to a skinscent and I don't notice much development.

HighCountryEsq

Stumbled across a 100ml for $20 at Marshalls and couldn't pass up buying it again. Reveal is a fantastic year-round fragrance for both women and men that can be had for dirt cheap. Longevity on me is very good (8hrs on skin/12+on clothes) with moderate sillage. I would highly recommend my fellow guys give this beauty a sniff, and the ladies too!!

sugaryrose

Smells like a men's aftershave at the beginning - fresh and masculine, then , about 30 minutes later, transforms into unisex oriental. Sits very close to the skin and has moderate longevity. Not feminine enough for me to wear.

greyhoundmom

Salty, fleshy, warm.. I know that sounds provocative but I swear I mean it in a good way. Reveal is very sexy and feminine. This is exactly how I used to perceive Womanity, which is unwearable lately for me because it is too metallic.. that darn caviar note..

This is one of those few scents for me that one spray is enough. Anymore than that and I get an unwashed "sprayed some perfume on and then had a very wild night" vibe. Less is more with this one.
