Calvin Klein's most underrated fragrance along with the men's fragrance Calvin from 1981. Truth is the epitome of fresh amber. It's a green floral with a mildly sweet vanilla, musk, bamboo and sandalwood. This was obviously influenced by Allure 1996 but I prefer Truth.

bisiilki

First was given this in 2001 by a young man wishing for my special attention (we're still dear friends 23y later!). It always was a beautiful fresh non-girly "cool" and "chic" scent to me. I wore it all the time as a 15-18yo. I kept the bottle for years after even with hardly any left in it just for an occasional sniff.

Today all these years later I recieved a fresh
100ml bottle. First spray was like a time machine! Such amazing feeling to be transported back in time to a carefree time of life, living in a beach side town. Still as I remembered it - a bamboo citrussy green floral. Magic.

angelbeast

It's weird! And I quite like it. Half mysterious greenery (the plant smell is odd, certainly not grass - is it the bamboo?) and half musky, warm, and slightly sensual. Smells like you've spent hours pottering in the garden, only to sit down and have some little mischievous, fluffy animal sit on your lap and fall sound asleep.

ast3r

i've just got this as a present and i must say i enjoy it very much. the only disadvantage i notice is its longevity, i prefer longer lasting perfumes

cats_eye

My friend wears this and you can smell it on her at the end of the day. It does last but you might not smell it anymore.

rene.saller

This is so faint on me, and it becomes faint so quickly, that I must ask myself if I'm simply noseblind to these musks and at risk for overspraying because I can't smell it on myself. I will need to have a friend test this to see whether I simply have a weak formulation or am one of those people who is noseblind to whatever musk (ambroxan?) is used here.

adahn

Incredibly 90s smelling freshie with lots of ambroxan even though it was released in 2000. Yeah a little green, wet, just out of shower slicked back hair and nice jeans kind of vibe, but so yesteryear. I don't have a huge history with the scent so can't romanticize it like some of the other people here do. The very humid nature of this while being a lily bomb bothers me a little bit as well. If you're craving some ck signature freshness that you can wear to the office without spending much then sure, but don't expect anything sensational.

annxyz

I know of nothing else like Truth . It is a beautiful scent that is so unique. It is clean, earthy, not sweet or over bearing . In a sea of lollipop scents, Truth is a classic beauty and a fantastic bargain.

I bought a bottle a year ago and did not think it had great longevity. Today I sprayed it again and am reminded how beautiful and serene and balanced it is . And it lasts all day .

Frabra88

Zen style, zen sensation!
That is what you think and feel when first spraying this fragrance. Very peaceful, meditative, clean, almost rudimentary and raw in this aspect, as truth can be! Like the essential and trasperent lines of its packaging, which fits the scent perfectly.
But it's not just that, an unexpected warmth will surprise you while wearing it, something refined that smells like clean human skin.
The effect as a whole is incredible, since there is a bit of play between raw and elevated.

The major players in the first stage are bergamot, bamboo and green clover for a fresh and watery cut grass effect.
An evolution of style starts in the middle of the fragrance, the more simple, naturalistic components are supplanted by a much perfume-y, more noble part; white lilly most of all, green mimosa and a backbone of sophisticated musk, refined and lightly powdery.
However what really causes a change in the aura of the fragrance is the advent of a carnal, warm, almost erotic component...something sensual comes forward...it smells like warm human skin.
If I had to guess I would say it could be the results of sandalwood and amber blending together, an effect I already appreciated in Calvin Klein Reveal, same sandalwood, but in there proper sensual ambergris was included.
The zen sensations are still there, if you search for them!

I guess the scent as whole smells like a serene day spent in a valley, near a water sorgent, sitting between fresh cut grass, your lovers picks for you a bouquet of flowers that are graceful in nature but he cuts out root and stem! You still reward him with a warm embrace, a light rain hits you, humidity arise and with it a light earthy soil smell. You decide to escape the summer rain and return to the city.

To this day, even after searching in the niche realm, this one still remains for me one of the best dewy bamboo + fresh cut grass smell, quite realistic too, but not a so simple rendition... given the perfumey base and that sort of skin like quality, like warm clean human skin.
It is light, dewy, watery and clean, then it gets earthy in a transparent way, then floral and musky in a sophisticated way, warm and again a little earthy.
The base of the scent, that part that I call perfume-y, has a 90's allure about it...but it doesn't smell dated at all, actually I find this blend of modern, photorealistic green notes + 90's allure + "your skin but better base" quite modern.
Calvin Klein truly has some good ones in his repertoires, if you want to smell interesting, unique and still modern while paying drug store prices then you must gift yourself some old Calvin Klein! He has many spicy ones, but also many clean and pure ones!

It seems that this scent beheves differently on each skin and also changes based on its maceration, I have had my bottle for a year but mine performs the same from the start. It will be redundant but here is what I smell, in detail, in my bottle:
the opening is pure green and watery bamboo, much strong and refreshing, plus herbal clover (not the flower) that smells lightly fresh spicy. Their blend really resembles freshly cut grass.
Citrus are very light, barely there and watery and effervescent. I don't smell patchouli at all, and very little vetiver, of that light green quality when it's not much earthy or masculine at all, just like humid soil.
After half an hour on the skin this warms up beautifully and the musk and flowers start to come through...the flowers smell like a bouquet of camp flowers, the white lily is the most prominent on my skin, pure and a little bitter, a tad of green mimosa and a kind of sour and tart balckberry but used very wisely, it doesn't even smell fruity. I am missing the peony on my skin, and the other notes are not recognizable to my nose, they are blended in a general dewy flowers accord. Their stems can be felt too.
At this stage the scent is still much watery but more powdery. Very lightly powdery, everything stays much louminous and green, and the clean musk starts to envelope everything. There is something that creates a perfume-y sensation, something sophisticated that you can feel smoothes the edges of all those natural and green smelling notes but it's not just the musk.
From watery and cool the scents becomes so warm...the sandalwood now is clear, smells like wet warm wood, a bit sweet but not vanillic, the amber is light and transperent, but I can smell human skin now more so then classic wood. The vanilla I can't feel at all on me.
A little of white lily returns and with it just a light leftover of bamboo and zen character.

This is how the scent unfolds on my skin, but I see it is different on everyone.
Unfortunatelly performance is not that great, and again it seems it varies a lot. Lasted me for a maximum of 4 hours and then it vanishes...not even dry down remains, but for the first two hours it projects moderately which is incredible for this kind of scent.
I don't mind respraying it, I made myself a sample that I leave in my purse, at the price of 23,00€ for a 100ml that can be forgiven.
I find it unisex, maybe just a tad female leaning.

My batch code is 2153.

Edit: in terms of comparisons this one is very close to the style of Stem by Malin+Goetz, but I have that one and they don't smell the same, this is even more stem-y then Stem 🌱🌾

ladynaqua

Freshly cut grass in a bottle , this is what I consider a unisex perfume should smell like .. A herbal fusion that is fresh yet unique and all the way elegant… Nothing wicked , manipulating or evil about it … If truth could have a scent this would be it … liking it or disliking it doesn’t affect its nature which is clear, simple and pure … I am definitely satisfied and I will see how my skin chemistry would match it long term . Another success from CK , Bravo 👏👏

I purchased Truth blindly as part of my search for my favorite white lily. I'll still be continuing that search, but this is something I can easily see myself reaching for throughout the warm weather. It's fresh and green, without the bitterness that often accompanies greenies. It's brand new, but even though it hasn't sat for a while, I definitely get the dewy greenness from the bamboo, some tartness from the citrus and peony, and sweetness from the clover. I'm getting any lily yet, but I have faith it will emerge. It's a shape-shifter, with accords rising and ebbing throughout, and I enjoy that very much.
I'm not usually a fan of Calvin Klein perfumes for some reason, but I've read so many great things about Truth, and given my lily search and the inexpensive price tag, I thought it was worth a try.
It definitely was worth it.
I will probably have more to add as I get to know it better and wear it out on a warmish day. I really have to thank the editors here because without you mentioning it in several different articles, I would never have known about it, let alone purchase it!

Miazinha

Muito aromático na secagem. Há um ingrediente secreto que faz dele um remédio para a alma.
Cheiro a prado fresco, verde e floral que acalma e sereniza.

annavino

My first signature frag, and one of the few I've never grown out of.

It reminds me of early spring on the east cost: clover & the chlorophyll of freshly mowed grass wafting in the open window, past a pot of Easter lilies; a hint of unripe berries; a cup of Earl Grey w/Lemon sitting on the table. After an hour or 2, it dries down to the light sweater you inevitably put on as the evening cold sets in: a light amber-vanilla, warmed with a familiar musk and a heady but smooth, creamy sandalwood.

Longevity of 6+ hours, & moderate sillage that fades to intimate over the course of wear on my very dry skin. Extremely unisex: fresh without being either sweetly fem or herbaceously masc. Clean without being cold, green but also lush. Definitely Timeless. 10/10

CrazyCrab

I loved this fragrance from the first time I smelled it as a child. When I was in primary school my mum used to send me in with an orange to eat at morning break time, and Truth has always reminded me of the smell of coming back into class after break. The way that the zest and oil from the orange peel would get under my nails and make my hands smell of orange, the smell of cold damp British air and the green sappy smell from grubbing about in the damp grass and the occasional grass fight.

It doesn't smell like the listed notes to me, probably because I formed my opinions on it as a child. It is very "zen" in the style that was popular at the time and it is strong and long lasting. I'm sad to say that I've become a little bored with it recently but I still love the memories.

sopelka

I don't have anything in my collection that smells similar to Truth. Bitter Truth... I think the name is very apt. If you enjoy green, casual, herbal scents with zero to very little sweetness, this is definitely a quality, affordable option to try. I am intrigued and will keep testing it on myself on those days when am tired of my usual potent spicy orientals.

AllisonNW

Bitter green scent with terrible longevity. I had moderate hope for this one but it vanished on my arm by the time I went in to see how the dry down was coming along.

Shui-Xian

With the first impression it starts amazing ...and then it is even better. Green, fresh and woody scent becomes gentely sweet and blooms.

Personally I appriciate the clover. It is not luxorious but definitely autentical and honest. There is the truth. Sometimes the simple experiences are the best.

Ck Truth is not minimalistic and linear but the combination is in one beautiful chord.

Truely I am enchanted.

BougieGirlShops

As per my other CK reviews, this has the same result of developing a fragrance that is pleasant but doesn't push the boundaries or strive to be overwhelmingly unique or make a statement. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing, I'm a big fan of simply wanting to smell nice for myself and the people around me.

This one I had to be patient and wait for the dry down. Initial spray was a loud blast of true photorealistic sour lemon. Luckily it dries down and rounds out to a citrusy and green profile. The green-ness does takes prominence followed by the florals, some may say this leans medicinal. I am surprised there's no water flowers listed because that's what I get from it. I'm not catching any woodiness despite having patchouli, vetiver and sandalwood listed. I also don't get any sweetness, and I find I usually pick up vanilla and blackberries very easily which often comes out as jammy.

It's OK, I don't love it, and I don't think it's one I would ever replace.

Mystères du Château de Dé

Truth evokes a chic and cool character (perhaps out of a Patrick Nagel print) in a contemporary Asian metropolis. Picture a quiet, chromed and marble atrium in a skyscraper, sealed from the cacophony of the teaming city, planted with a bamboo forest and enormous statement bouquets of fragrant flowers in glossy black vases at the huge desk and by the Corbusier chairs in the waiting area. My mise-en-scène predates 2000 but I consider it an ambiance and vibe that endures to today yet echoes all the way back to Bauhaus and the International.

My new bottle cost a few dollars and doesn't project much but it's worth it for the mesmerizing top. It does stay faintly on skin for many hours and the fresh top sticks to the end, instead of the fragrance collapsing to generic woods and musk. Goes on the "mood refresher" shelf. I prefer the male version but this is great for what it is and unisex on its own. Has a bit of the hard urban glamour of vintage Donna Karan fragrances.

Mutrike

This turned really bad on my skin, unfortunately. So I gave it away, although really wanted to like it back in the days. I was really surprised because, well, there were Morillas, Cavallier and Wasser! I belive they used some sort of base chemical that argued with my skin.

sugaryrose

Some may say it's generic and boring. Well, this fragrance is the ultimate compliment- getter! A few days ago I was on the bus and a woman sitting in front of me told me I smell very nice and asked me what perfume I was wearing. Today a guy at the supermarket complimented me on my perfume....

L.rist

I have the vintage bottle from the early 2000s almost full, left from my mother because as she was, she kept the "nice" perfumes unused and kept away (which is why I now enjoy material things when I feel like it, life is to be lived). She loved musk, and I feel like the musk aged like fine wine, but in the same time this is fresh, by all means a day perfume. I actually love it on cold winters morning, I feel like the musk and patchouli keep me warm, together with the herbals that are calming, and the flowers lift me up, they are crisp and loud.

joliecat

On my skin, in warm dry air, Truth opens with gentle touches of fresh clear greens. Light green patchouli is mixed with the softest hint of fruits. Within 2 minutes, the scent turns powdery as clouds of mimosa bloom with peony, supported by sandalwood wrapped in white musk. The green lily blooms from inside, enhancing the bamboo and clover . Vetiver adds an airy aspect. Sweet amber and vanilla create a soft , silky smooth base. Every ingredient in this fragrance is very pleasing. Projects moderately for 2 hours, then calms to a soft powdery skin scent for the next 4 hours. Non offensive, beautiful fragrance.

Tinabill

Dewy lily garden.
You wake up one summer morning at dawn. You decide to step outside barefoot to your garden and enjoy the cooler morning breeze. You stretch out your arms and inhale deeply and the smell of the dewy grass under your feet and the lily blooms surrounding you brings a smile to your face. You pick a few lilies to adorn your breakfast table and the sappy green aroma from their stems widens your smile. The sun rises higher in the sky and warms your skin. Last nights’ bedtime vanilla-sandalwood oil evaporates and envelopes you with a sense of warmth and comfort. This is what Truth smells to me.
An elegant subtle green accord with lots of lilies. Fresh yet warm, but regrettably doesn’t last more than two hours on my skin.

scent_pop_art

Truth Calvin Klein, a forgotten cheapie. I've known this fragrance since it debuted in 2000 and reach for it every year as a spring prelude. The opening is like walking across a lush green meadow combined with a visit to a flower shop. I love that coolness mixed with lush stems in the water, interspersed with the floral scent that dozens of petals carry. I find the echo of that in truth.

After more than 20 years, Truth smells better than many green flower novelties. Instead of the classic fragrance pyramid, it's two opposing phases that are lush and sensual. The lush green part of the composition is so pretty, as already described, just look at the notes: bamboo, vetiver, clover, patchouli, mimosa, blackberry, peony, lily, lemon, bergamot. The sensual phase isn't my favourite, but still good but overloaded with musk and vanilla.

Mobrien37

Very clean. Can definitely pick up the bamboo with a hint of citrus. Can’t identify any other notes. Doesn’t last very long. Daytime scent. Very inoffensive. Everyday usage. Cheap and cheerful. Reminds me of the bamboo shoots you can get in a Chinese takeaway. Forest like.
Would repurchase as very inexpensive. Requires at least 7 sprays.

Overall 6/10

PLMc

I have worn this for years. People always get same thing.... you smell like honeysuckles!

chyan

I don’t know what it is with Truth - it either smells completely like heaven and angels raining their sweet tears down on me, or like extremely cheap florals. Today it was the angel tears and i am so in love with it today that I had to resist spraying myself again before bedtime. I am now in the bed trying to figure out why, because the last time I used it I wanted to throw it away. I hear people talking about metallic notes but i wear Escape quite a bit, and it is so metallic, chemical and aquatic in that hard, masculine way that many vintage aquatics smell, that metal seems undetectable in Truth. Truth does have that same “cold” feel and I believe this is the green, which takes this over the edge into young and fresh dewy foliage for me; not grass, which can sometimes feel very sharp and vegetal. This green is more subtle and maybe this is the “bamboo” which i honestly have never smelled although I have a huge wall of it in my backyard. I absolutely adore green, and this is a very wearable green. So I can see people not liking it who don’t like green or fresh. And let’s talk the longevity, it is ridiculous for a perfume at this price point! I put this on at 10:00 am and at 1:15 am I’m still smelling it.

Yes Malena

On me it does come off somewhat screechy and metallic. It could be the small rollerball I got has already gone off. I can pick out the lily, clover, bamboo. I get something like an orchid note as well, but very lightly. Interesting that patchouli is a top note here. I would prefer to try this from a newer spray bottle, seems I am not getting a true impression... Seems that the potential is there for Truth to be a perfect medium-weight blend of fresh, oriental, avant garde. Unless a newer bottle shows up at my nose, then pass. For now.

Edit: I bought a small bottle, and I do enjoy this fragrance. It's a quiet perfume, but it is possible to overspray; it doesn't get louder, just a bit too high-pitched maybe? Wonderful on a cloudy day, and as others have said, on a summer night. I like having this perfume, and I would probably buy it again. If I were buying ANY perfumes now. :(

Cold&Sunny

I like this perfume, but for me its wood flower perfume.
Yes it does open very green. At the beginning it smells like fresh cut flower stems.
But when it dries down, it becomes flowers and wood. Similar to when you bring fresh cut flowers home and put them into vase. All green notes fade away and all flower notes come and bloom.
It seats quite close to skin. So its not offensive and would suit for every day wear.
Its good value for the price.

AleharJ

For all lovers of Mojave Ghost (Byredo) that don't feel like splurging on another bottle... Try this one! 😉

cz963214

I appreciate this perfume. It is well done. Smells like morning dew in a clover field. I actually find this to have a really strong clover smell, that verges on the edge of artificial. Not one of my favorites, but good nonetheless. Moderate longevity. Good quality for the price.

Nil3

Performs WAY better when the sun has set ( summertime)

It vanishes in the daylight heat.

On me it’s pure cold notes which is bamboo and lily and more green bamboo.

Used a 100ml bottle as a body spray.

golden

This is a perfume I wore over a decade ago! Stunningly gorgeous. At the time I was working in a Spa ( my younger years) I would apply this before starting my shift. My then manager, would say, ohh my, I feel like I’ve stepped into Harrods! Lol what’s that beautiful smell?
At the time, it was a very upmarket Spa. In the heart of London. We had very VIP clients come in, and have treatments with us girls.
It was such a beautiful environment to work in. But nonetheless, the work was very hard.
Many of my work colleagues would say how wonderful I smelled, and even one said, you leave such a beautiful trail wherever you go.
Ahh lovely memories, and at that time, I was enjoying going out after work, nights out, fancy bars, restaurants and such. Because I was in the centre of it all.
Anyway, roll on more than a decade later, I had forgotten about this. And left my London life behind me. Opting for the Sea, fresh air, Nature, and slowing down the crazy nights out.
I decided to revisit this, and many more of the perfumes I wore back in the day.
And this smells exactly the same on me. If anything, better!!!
But this beauty is definitely not for everyone’s skin chemistry. As it can come of too screechy, and metallic! So be warned.
I love the fresh opening notes, but for me, it’s all about the dry down. I get warm, creamy sandalwood, musk and vanilla.
It’s still quite potent, even after all these years.
I’m not going to be without this magickal potion again.
Charming, sophisticated, and melancholy come to mind.
Ahh the nostalgia!

JLorenz

This perfume reminds me of freshly washed linen in scented detergent... smells nice and that's about it. I used to spray it on when I went to the gym. It's not a scent that will offend people.

Perfumeaddict777

This is a beautiful perfume. Clean, crisp, there is a sweetness to it. A little blackberry in the background and heavy green grass and bamboo! Truth has wonderful silage and longevity the problem is that this perfume does Turn after a few years. Mine smells like vinager now😢 I've had it for 6 years now and it finally turned. Its been in a dark cool wooden closet along with all my other perfumes and this is the only one that's ever turned on me .

jsb41

I had high hopes for this fragrance but I absolutely hate it. I smell no freshness, no green notes, etc. Maybe my bottle is old because it smells like White Diamonds to me upon initial spray and then dries down to a dirty powdery scent like some 1920’s face powder sitting in the attic for the last 85 years or so.

annxyz

This has been a favorite for years, though it seems less intense these days to my nose. However, it is a very elegant , clean, and zen like scent that is unlike most other perfumes. It starts off quietly and then draws you in to its calming and soothing presence and refreshes you throughout the day . lasts longer on clothes than skin. I totally love this perfume.

jedrzejowskia

Interesting scent. It smells like a warm gingery tea on me. Ginger is not listed in the notes maybe the bamboo adds that spicyness or maybe the vetiver. I do smell the vetiver in it too and quite strongly at that. Altogether it gives an impression of a warm green scent if that makes sense? In m opinion 100% unisex veering towards masculine. Interesting but not for me as i dont particularly like green "warm" scents.
Project extremely well.
Very office or close space appropriate.

Luxeefaith

Didn’t care for this one too much it smelled of strongly fresh cut grass and bamboo to me it just wasn’t for my body chemistry :/ I can see the potential in it though! I would say this is more for a man

shadaroba

Found this perfume for 12 euro (30ml bottle) and I’ve decided to blind buy it. I remember smelling it 20 years ago at a duty free shop and it caught my attention back then. Long story short: the first spray smells super floral but 90’s kind of floral, so outdated. Then the green slowly starts to come up, but still very much mixed with the florals. Morillas is one of my favorite scent creators out there, but for me this is a miss.
Definitely try before blind buying. 😅

carollyncheeyen

Blind purchase. Starts immediately with a grassy green scent, a good one. In a second the bamboo scent is very present in the opening, makes you go ah bamboo! In a good way. Good fresh green scent. The citrus works well together at this point. Maybe there is a Clover scent there but I cannot recognise which it is.
I wish the green scent lasted longer.

Bamboo note goes away gradually maybe after half an hour, then there are the florals, berry, musk and a bit later, amber.

Good scent. A girl next door scent.

I can't say it is unique, the dry down resembles DKNY be delicious dry down, somehow. But it is a safe good scent for college, office or going out in public, or even out traveling. Maybe not so much for night. Also not for beach. Can be cloying in small spaces surprisingly.
It lasts long and does project well.

I am ok to exchange this if you are in Malaysia.
I will not repurchase this.
I have the DKNY green apple, enough for the same role.

Can't imagine a guy using this. More a feminine scent to me.

Numi

Very fresh and long lasting. Remind me of kenzoki bamboo and Issey Miyake Eau dIssey Edt - same freshnes, not same smell. Nice classic.

Amelia28

I bought this simply because of nostalgia (and because it was like $17 on fragrancenet). I wore this as a teenager. I remember a few years later smelling this on someone else, immediately identifying it and complimenting the wearer.
It still smells the same, although the lasting power is minimal. It makes me think of clean white sheets and a cool rain.

Side note: I'm super tempted to repurchase all of the scents I wore when I was younger but it seems kind of weird. Like, do I really need Gucci Rush and Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire? No. Those aren't really the scent profiles I gravitate towards anymore. But still... maybe. Depends on the price. Lol

Today, I put on my old friend, Calvin Klein Truth digging it out of my 'older perfumes' box to drown out some horrendous Chanel Cristalle EDT. I'm sure that my bottle of Truth is at least 15 years old. I love, love, love this perfume. I love the relaxing, somber notes in this perfume balanced by fresh, clean and uplifting floral scents. I smell peony, amber, musk and bergamot. It does feel like truth to me, in a sensuous concoction. A bygone era.

rockerchick

Blind buy based on reviews/notes here. Im liking this much more than anticipated!

Very wet and green at opening, strong bamboo and wet green notes- not so much "wet woods" but more "damp meadow" if that makes sense- brighter, fresher.
Quickly transitions to bamboo and clover flowers, with some hints of peony. Green, clean, just barely floral enough to be "feminine".
After a couple hours I notice the sandal/amber and vanilla coming through, with a touch of that bamboo note keeping it from being too warm (though much warmer at this point). More of a skin scent at dry down.

Works very well for me in Florida weather.

Ladies of high careers this is the rebel brother of St Dupont. It's just as cold, calculating, linear but instead of punching the table, it punch straight in the face. It is a perfume of a top woman not bimbo, not the girl, not maintained, not delicate, just strength and cold. It's a combination of Arrogance, and if you're European and especially feminist you know what I'm talking about, and Dupont.
It's cold, but unlike Arrogance, it doesn't freeze you but hits you. Very good. Still I don't think it's suitable day to day because the rest of the world would consider you a psychopath without feelings. But when you need to replace Dupont and to be even tougher that's the scent.

Whilst setting on a journey through olfactory memory lane, I just repurchased this beauty for an incredible discount. Regardless of amount paid, I feared a disappointment- that a scent with such a romantic personal memory when gifted 20 yrs ago, would feel now dated as my skin chemistry and taste in perfumes has changed.
Happy to report its not the case. Quite the opposite. Truth, if anything, smells even more unique, and more engaging. Of course, summer is also a good moment to sample this. Whats even more incredible, it has stood the test of time proudly. Truth still smells relevant in todays overcrowded perfume scene and presents undeniable quality in the midst of all new niche houses popping up. It is expertly blended, well balanced and in a class on its own. I do think though that to appreciate it, one needs more experience with niche houses. For a beginner fragrance lover like i once was, it may-be too nondescript and subtle or damp and rainforesty.
My new buy is not watered down or missing notes as far as i remember. Rather, like true 2000's child this freshie is quite heady with musk by today's standards but also delivers gorgeous dampness of woods with comforting herbal-white floral mix in the middle.
On my skin, even the first spritz carries no lemon, its also not heavy with alcohol. Instead, i smell vetiver instantly with a bit of mint, and white clover thats such a childhood scent, someone mentioned "freshly mowed grass" and thats exactly it- freshly cut grass with lots of clover in it, after rain. Patchouli is very tamed here thankfully, but present all the way to the dry-down. I'm not familiar with the bamboo note, and this is probably the secret ingredient that gives Truth slightly metallic, almost rainy feel that still manages to keep warmth. Like during monsoon, you're wet to your bones, but still hot.
In 30 min honeyed mimosa with white lily is taking over, throwing a thin flirty veil over the vegetal dampness, making Truth a bit more feminine and less unisex (i still think men can pull this scent off though). After an hour the scent is slowly starting to dry down with some more woodiness from sandalwood. This is the freshest yet most comforting phase for me, when i smell like just out of shower, or soaked by tropical rain, or after the evening swim in the lake. Freshness doesn't overwhelm and Truth becomes less perfume-like, more like your skin just smells amazing. Btw, no vanilla on my skin, or any sweetness for that matter.
It lasts well, over 6 h is well detectable on skin and is quite a bit longer on clothes. Sillage is good, especially in warm weather as freshness of the scent cuts through anything else. Overall, i'm very happy to own it again and for this price, its much underrated beauty. I'd recommend it as a unisex warm weather scent thats fresh and unique during the day and charming and mysterious at night. A modern masterpiece.

I have had this perfume for a few months now. It was a blind buy for the clover note and was anticipating a more natural fragrance. I find Truth to be “perfume-y” (not that it is a bad thing!—just unexpected). It actually exudes a sexiness, a mysteriousness, it is luscious. I can see this being worn on hot summer evenings.
As for the notes, Truth starts with bamboo and clover with an under layer of vanilla. The top notes stay for a fairly short amount of time on my skin. The dry down goes into vanilla-woods with a hint of that original greenery sticking around. I love the opening—just wish it lasted longer. I am thinking about layering this with Terranova Rain (which is a clover bomb on me), just to try to emphasize the top notes.
As beautiful as Truth is, I am not reaching for it as much as I had hoped. For reference, my favourite Calvin Klein fragrances are CK2 and CK IN2U.

dcjimr

This is what I imagine a rain forest would smell like. Very green and the florals are so well blended they barely register to me. Totally non gender specific. I got it for a steal online in a clearance sale so it might be discontinued or soon to be so. And three big name perfumers created this...not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

robym

Blind buy...
On my skin its only something super sweet. No flowers no green...totally dislike.

Pandarapt

This side of the lily pad: crispy stalks floating on a warm spring creek, scintillating reflection so pure you feel you could pluck the sunshine out of the water. That side of the lily pad: a trickly green stream of something synthetic and oily mixed with fresh clover honey. On the whole: It's a spa attended by cyborg elves! Not as truthful as it claims, the nature is a little counterfeit but how good it is at faking it. The best rollover on clover fragrance out there.

On a less-er ridiculous note, if you're half as into spa stuff as I am you'll climb quickly on the like to love scale since this unusual green number has one foot on the river-pierced forest and another on a high-end disposable polymer bottle. Smashing. Memorable. Beautiful. And of course, discontinued.

Winterspring123

Smells like fresh cut grass with flowers. :O!

Seaworthy

First spray reminded me immediately of Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights in a remote way. Truth is a lovely light fragrance, good for summer. It has a beautiful soft, sweet dry down. Nowhere near as long lasting as my all time favorite CK fragrance Escape!

MaryushaMTL

It is surely a CK fragrance, reminds me of that whole One / Be era. It starts off green and herbal and grassy and citrusy. There is a hint of berries that adds sweetness and tartness. After one hour the scent is sweet with vanilla undertones. The grass is gone. I can no longer call this fragrance "green". It is now earthy, woody, clean. It is a meadow full of wild flowers on a hot summer day. It just rained....close your eyes and inhale....

Devved

This for me smells identically like grape leaves, but i`m not talking about the artificial smell of grapes!!! It is soo earthy! However, the green notes are soo overpowering or maybe it is something else, but i always get a headache and feel sick after i smell this one. I feel irritated when i smell this.

Maybe the name of the fragrance is right? ''Truth'' ain`t always pleasant.

PearlGarden

As someone who doesn't like the perfume I can say he following. Bought this as a blind buy and it was a mistake. On the first impression, it seams like a fresh, kind of Lily of the Valley scent or Green grapes. However, as it dries down and one wears it for a longer time... It is clear what it reminded me of.

Imagine if you went into a smoking break-room and someone put air-freshener to clear out the cigarette scent! Thats exactly what this scent is. Headachy, for some reason I can smell animalistic notes. But definitely like cigarettes. Now I don't know what to do with it and everyone I've asked HATES this scent. Ive tried to give this perfume a chance for over a year now, but the i can't even define it as a scent that is likeable.

forbes_mq

I think this is a beautiful fragrance, one that is not often talked about in the world of Calvin Klein fragrances.

I recently picked up a few CK fragrances I had never smelt before as blind buys. Truth was one of them. I think this is full unisex, a fragrance dominated by bamboo at first and then warm, sexy woods. The florals are there but are never in the front, they provide more warmth to the woody musk base.

The other fragrance I picked up was CK Be, and holy do these two ever smell amazing together.

jule9

Truth is a clean, classy and tame, a bit woodsy, bamboo-lily. It's a timeless classic and a very safe buy, not very polarizing and noticeable, but prominent and intriguing. Longevity is better on clothes than it is on skin. Small sillage.

mevans

Truth needs some time to settle in before it shows it's true self. I find this with a few Calvin Klein fragrances. The first half hour or so I wasn't a fan. The lily is pretty overwhelming. I get the woody-grassy notes right away too. It just seems to be a mess for the first little bit. But then it develops into something very fresh, clean and attractive. It's like you're right out of the shower with a soapy type of cleanness to it. The remainder of the few hours it lasts are wonderful. Performance is average and it wears close to the skin. Great scent for the day, for work, for just running errands. I can't see this one offending any sensitive noses. It's very easy to wear. Just put it on a half hour before going out.

FrkFors

Dry and wet at the same time. Like biting into something quite not yet ripe, that dry feeling you get in your mouth... I think it's the bamboo that does that in here.
Green vegetal. Damp, dewy. You're laying down in a field of wildflowers and fresh green grass a cool summer morning. You took a shower earlier and some citrus soap is still lingering on your skin.
There are trees and bushes in the distance, some even carry berries. You get back home in the peak of the day, to a vase full of fresh cut white lilies. The sun is shining through the windows warming up linen curtains. Traces of sweet, warm powder. It smells like summer.

Annemarie

I'm new to this one and a bit puzzled, firstly because for years I had it filed with all the other CK releases of the 90-era with naff names (Escape, Eternity, Contradiction). In a vague sort of way I thought Truth would be a variant of Eternity, ie a nasty aquatic. Finally I started noticing favourable reviews of Truth which suggest that it is a minor masterpiece that has flown under the radar for years. People often mention it having been d/c but it is easily had online.

Secondly, there are several notes in the there I'm unfamiliar with. Bamboo? Does that even have a scent? Clover? Hmmm ... so that's the green grassy accord. Peony? Don't know it well except that it's often paired with rose and I feel I can smell rose in this perfume, especially on fabric. I do smell lily quite distinctly and I enjoy its savoury, almost salty quality.

I don't get much vanilla or amber or sandalwood, but it's early days. I feel that this is the sort of perfume that will reveal different notes and nuances as I keep wearing it. At the moment for me it is a clean, juicy green floral with interesting sweet/salty effects and moderate sillage and longevity.

Although a green fragrance Truth does not include galbanum, hyacinth or okamoss, as so many greens of an earlier era did. I like old fashioned greens but they can be statement pieces rather than something I'd wear every day. And finally, for a clean fragrance the musk is relatively moderate.

In Truth, everything is held in moderation, very nicely balanced. Perhaps that makes Truth an unadventurous Plain Jane of a perfume? The choice for people a bit timid about wearing perfume at all? Maybe. Or it could suit someone searching for something intelligent, subtle and chic. The distinction between the two is fine. A woman who wears Truth might include in her look one very particular signature accessory, for contrast: vibrant red lipstick perhaps, or statement earrings.

Decodawn

This is my review of Truth by Calvin Klein I originally bought this fragrance upon launch in 2000. It was groundbreaking at the time. The start of the new millennium very Minimalist, clean, fresh. My eldest daughter Verity was born in April 2000, and I named her Verity because her name means Truth.
Truth is pure, truth is honest, truth is strength.
The edp is very long lasting and still amazing today in 2020.

Upon first spray it is quite strong the 1st notes are very green. However wait 20 minutes for the fragrance to settle and it becomes rounded and quite stunning. Bamboo, grass, sandalwood absolutely gorgeous. It is elegant, sexy and pure class. The 100ml glass slimline bottle with Metal lid is being sold on Groupon at the moment for £19.99 the rrp is £68. Excellent value for money. Don't just try it, buy it!you will love it! A huge thumbs up from Decodawn.

ivadim

много го обичам, но имам и за размяна

HyenaSuperstition

What a really nice surprise. I blind bought this and am so happy that I did. The first five minutes seem a bit of a shock with the green notes and citrus. But after that it smooths out really nicely. It's linear to a degree but does change into a softened, warm, light vanillic cloud. Very fresh (almost shower fresh), sheer, sweet, but not candy like at all. It is incredibly synthetic, but that seems to be expected with this. I feel like one of my aunt's maybe wore this at some point? For some reason this seems to be very nostalgic for me.

I think this might do better in warmer weather. I'll still give it a decent wearing in the chillier months and see how it goes. At it's price point it's a safe blind buy.

RossanaJ

I blind bought this based on reviews...big mistake!
It smells of some sweet citrus peel and some dead flowers. I waited for the dry down...it never came.Nothing changed. It is a very strong citrus smell that does not agree with me!

Flacon-de-Bonheur

This was my signature for several years. Got it when it first came out. Bought again and again. So classy and elegant. I stll wear it in the summer.

LisaLovesPerfume

Citrus is the key element to Truth. Vetiver also takes center stage. Bamboo lingers in the background, softening the other notes. It's very clean, bordering on soapy. Truth is not a sweet fragrance;it is instead very green. Truth is a wonderful choice for Spring and Summer.

Jacquis

My husband complimented me on my perfume today :o

This is a rarity. This was my first time wearing Calvin Klein Truth. I regularly subject my poor husband to some powerhouse smoke, incense and boozy perfumes but lately, I've been cleansing my palate with freshies. Calvin Klein Truth opens with all of the fresh citrus, green and floral notes all together. I get the initial impression of mimosa. This scent seems to last for a long time without transitioning. CK Truth stays pretty linear on me but given that it opens with such complexity, I am very happy. The longevity of CK Truth was all day on my clothing. I have no complaints. So fresh and green in this 75 degree weather. Many hours later, it finally dries down to a soft pleasant floral.

My husband complimented this perfume. That's high praise. I will always have a bottle of this one!

gtabasso

vanilla is the strongest note with lemon, bamboo intensive then bergamot, vetiver and mimosa noticeable

Tamsos valdove

Though it's citrus and most suitable for summer, I personally love to wear it in winter. Gives me warmth and brightens the mood.

tessiebee

I reviewed this perfume below, but as time has gone on I've been reaching for this again and again, particularly as a bedtime scent. I don't know if the perfume has settled or if I'm just getting more used to it,but the screechy opening has subsided almost completely. There is soft floral element to it, but the green woody aspects take centre stage. There is a wetness to it, like a forest Glade in the morning, dew still on the grass where little wild flowers peek out. I'm really coming round to this scent. It's definitely not modern or very exciting, but there is something of value in simplicity.

msiska

Truth is very complex and it seems to me that it feels very different on each person wearing it. I smell very calm and somewhat warm rounded woody and earthy scent, don't get any citrus or fruit, not even much florals, perhaps the clover. My father though, immediately upon my first spray recognized the mimosa and claimed it was very distinct and natural smelling. I myself have never smelled mimosa in nature, so I just take his word for it. My overall impression is sweetly smelling precious woods and sunlit meadows. Very elegant, calm, not heavy at all and very distinctive, so original, even unexpected. Or, half expected, bearing in mind the three names behind this fragrance.

colorfulmess

A fragrance that reminds you of the importance of middle notes. Because they are completely obscured by bamboo and musk. I wish it would evolve beyond that. Where is the mimosa and lily? I might have a problem with bamboo notes because it makes me sneeze.

My husband likes it though and it IS a unique scent so I'll probably keep it around and wear it for him :)

PowderPlum77

This was a blind buy based on reviews. And forgive me that I am not a connoisseur and cannot match the descriptiveness of such lovely reviews. But it sounded like something I'd love. There is something initially noxious about this, something that numbs my nostrils and all I get is a putrid sweetness. This is a scent to be had in small whiffs for me, only then can I smell some of the notes listed. My boyfriend had a hard time picking it up on me, so it does dry down and settle in with your skin. He did notice it eventually and said is was a fresh daytime summer scent and told me it was "cute" but not seductive and smelled like leaves and sunflowers 🤷♀️

tessiebee

I think I understand what you mean by "screechy", this perfume starts off smelling like bleach or something quite nose burning. Once it settles down it's a very fresh scent, a bit old fashioned and matronly but inoffensive

ivadim

Харесва ми как минава през няколко фази, обичам всяка от тях, носи ми усещане за лято, свеж, но и много чувствен, след като мине върховата му фаза. Дълготраен, с отлични отзиви от околните

Bambi.fq

I was 13 when I first sniffed upon this glorious scent. I would collect sample vials of it from magazines and beauty counters. Throughout my teen years, I thought of Truth as the most perfect scent ever created. I finally got the gift set from my parents as a high school graduation present (I think they discontinued it the same year or the year after). I treasured every drop. It was my college scent. There was a sensual bedtime fragrance that came with the gift set that was simply divine and I used to layer the two. I purchased a second bottle just a few years ago and was really disappointed, it smelled like a pale imitation of the first bottle I owned. I got only warm lemon water flavored with bamboo. The way it used to smell, it was a luscious and sensuous, balmy forest air smell...refreshing, but also deep, soft and dense, with some warmth and sunshine. It was complex and unique, and captured nature in a bottle. Bamboo was the star but you can still smell all the other notes, the lily, clover, vanilla, citrus and vetiver. When I tried the original formulation of Dior Addict, something sour and velvety about it reminded me of Truth (balmy note + blackberry maybe?), though they are night and day in terms of personality. Truth is something you can picture a forest nymph smelling like.

M.Golightly

There is a current trend for green scents at the moment and for me nothing is more green than this. I just love the spritely opening of Truth which does remind me of rain in the tropics and of fresh young bamboo. It mellows down to slightly sweet sandalwood. What I love about Truth is that it is a refreshing scent perfect for summer and at times the heat amplifies the sweet sandalwood on my skin making this fragrance very interesting.

There is elegance in Truth because she really doesn't want attention. Her beauty lies in her calm and serene nature. One of the few secret fragrances worth calling a classic.

over_caffeine

I know this has been around for more than two decades but I've only tried it recently and I regret not trying it sooner. TRUTH is renewing and invigorating at best, failsafe and innofensive at worst. Truth reminds me of petrichor, the pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of hot, dry weather. It doesn't smell exactly of petrichor, but it reminds me of the feeling I get when it rains after a long, dry, sweltering summer. Dewy leaves drenched in rain, in a windy open field. That is CK Truth. Lasting power is a decent 6 hours, and I got my 100 ml bottle for less than 40 usd. Sophisticated, understated, true to the CK aesthetic. It has the makings of a classic that could stand the test of time--no surprise since it was created by three superstar noses. So sad to read that it's actually being discontinued.

cloudy1

I remember Truth being around when I was younger but only now I took attention when I saw huge discount. What a unique scent!!!
I could describe it as woody vanilla with green accords. Usually I don't go close to anything candy like sweet but in moderate mature doses I love vanilla. This is it.
The lasting power is phenomenal, I didn't expect that from Calvin Klein, all day long it lingers around. First seconds are a bit yuck, literally fresh cut grass. But soon it becomes creamy woody vanilla with lily for sure and maybe mimosa.

Sherine777

This smells really good, fit for the names that created it and far from being outdated even after 2 decades.

It is indeed as the voted notes say, Bamboo, Clover and Lilly with quite a bit of sweetness to it.

The down side is poor longevity, in about a couple of hours it's barely detectable.

dlilla

I am shocked this isn't unisex. It smells so masculine to me, from start to finish. No florals come through for me at all, it's all bamboo and super strong sandalwood. It won't even come off in the shower! It's literally just as strong on my arm after scrubbing. Heartburn in a bottle.

theLady

I wore this in the early 00s and it was wonderful. I was 18, in college, and it was such a great smell. Then when I was 20 something, I ordered a bottle online from FragranceX and it was a disaster. I believe it was a reformulation, before I really knew about them. I was rather devastated. I've recently acquired a bottle that makes me very, very happy. I never thought I could revisit this, but I was thrilled to be proven wrong.

I've never known how to describe this perfume. Other people will probably do a better job. The drydown is a strange, heavy smell. I don't think it's musk or patchouli, but it's dark and intense. What is that?! Just like the top notes - what is that?! I've never bought the "bamboo" top note story. I mean, I don't think bamboo smells like this, do you?

ETA: oh my god, that commercial with the Moby track!!! My teendom!!! the 90s! the 00s!!

roncevici94

Soapy, smells like freshly out of the shower. For someone who likes sweet perfumes this one is to skip... And for someone who doesn't want to smell offensive but still want to smell nice but nothing extra this one is good catch for good price. Just like you try to bring up your natural freshness and cleaness with this perfume. I don't like many perfumes and ones that i finally found that is good.. quickly gets me bored or when is summer, every perfume is headache trigger and I start to hate it. Then I use this one. This cannot be hated but can help to make a rest from other perfumes, relax your head and thoughts and when you get done with it after some time, you will appreciate more your old perfumes that started to annoy you. Highly recommended for summer at very hot weather.

Strytsman

When will I learn NOT to blind buy perfume?! Money wasted. My son said it smells like the herbal medicine I give him to prevent colds. Opening notes are extremely green. Half an hour later you’re left with a barely perceptible skin scent which smells like nice soap.

louiee

This is very Calvin Klein... in a very good way.
Bamboo, clover and lily in a well balanced scent.
Fresh, feminine and flowery clean.
Very good projection and amazing longevity on my skin.
Classical Calvin Klein... truth is in my opinion a safe blind buy and it makes you smell perfumed but not overpowering.
Truth I like you

zydrune

The smell is unusual and somehow reminds me a funeral (maybe because of lilies and smell of needles), but I like it. Especially in early spring and before Christmas. And it is really loooong lasting on clothes.

drawingmaniac35

This has to be one of my favourite scents ever. I don't know what age it was created to address but I am 21 and I love it. It starts really green and zen on me but then develops in a beautiful soft yet somehow confident scent. It is a little sweet which gives it that confident tone however it is still so very delicate on my skin. Also the lasting power is insane-I put it in the morning and still feel it in the evening. It is a bomb regarding price and quality!

Alisaaa131

I really enjoy the bamboo and lush notes of this fragrance, maybe it's because I'm trying it in the winter but there's something in this that doesn't work for me.
It comes across as "vintage" and smells strange on me by the mid notes.
I can see the reference to Dior Addict, as towards the dry down I get a similar feel to Dior but not as intense.
It's the vanilla-ish dry-down which is probably appealing to everyone!
However, I'm either going to try again in the summer or give this to my mother as my boyfriend had said as soon as he opened the car door, "..what smells in here? what is that?"...
This fragrance lasts a long time, it lingers on clothing for 2 days!

Neckromancer

I just picked this scent up from Walmart. It's very like-able. I can see someone not gravitating to it, but I doubt anyone would be offended by it. It's not for women who want to smell like cupcakes and turkish delight. It's quite unisex in my personal opinion, because it has a feminine perfume-y quality to it along with a masculine aftertaste. It does smell like alcohol and something strong and caustic upon first spray, but it simmers down nicely. To me, it smells like a distant whisper of Elizabeth Arden Green tea (it has that sharp tickle, probably from the lily), mixed with tree sap (what you smell when you break a young branch) and sawdust (the dry version of the same tree). I'm surprised with how non-synthetic the wood note smells. It doesn't smell like that horrible fake cedar note used so frequently now in new perfumes. I did think this perfume would smell a little more leafy like Bath and Body Works Rainkissed Leaves, but that's alright. I actually think it would layer well with the BBW lotion. The musk is also great quality...definitely not a laundry musk, it blends very well with the skin, it smells dense and natural. I don't really get vanilla or much sweetness at all. The longevity is not bad, I really like the sawdust-like, peppery masculine drydown. I don't smell the similarity to Dior Addict unfortunately. Maybe with more wears? I was afraid this would smell aquatic like Cool Water, my arch nemesis, but there's nothing ocean-y about it at all luckily. Now I'm catching whiffs as I move around, and the air smells like peppery grass clippings mixed with perhaps the rind of a grapefruit. The clover is coming through, it's bold and strong, it's dark green, not the yellow-green tendrils of baby leaves in the spring. Very unique and interesting. Overall, I would recommend this scent to anyone who has grown tired of their gourmand scents and would like to branch out and smell branchy.

Nuitdenoel

Wasn’t sure I was going to like this on initial spray. All I got was wet musk, then some water florals. After about 5 minutes, though, the bamboo and clover come to the fore and it is a lovely, green scent. Not too fresh. Not a love for me because of the opening but very definitely a strong like. I’ll keep my blind bought bottle in rotation.

EDIT: I’ve had this for a month, now. The initial review was Oct 5, 2018 and it is Nov 5, 2018 (didn’t plan it like that, it just happened). I wear this everywhere. It is one of my daily, go-tos. I still do not like the first few minutes but I like the rest.

meg0825

Truth opens with a sharp bamboo note along with sweet and grassy clover. The heart is peony and lily followed by a musky and woody base. This is one of the freshest, cleanest fragrances ever. It's soft, gentle, and serene. Just beautiful.

letamercy

I agree with @corkscrewcurly. This is a floral green scent. Aromatic, herbal, fresh. I usually don't go for green scents as I find them somewhat nauseating, but this is a wonderful exception.

I get a blast of bamboo, clover and lily in the beginning, which subsides a bit after about 30 minutes at which point vetiver and patchouli peep out to give these notes some earthy support.
The middle which comes about 2-3 hours later smells like a garden of lilies and clover right after they've been watered or rained on. I think this is my favourite stage of this little gem.
It then morphs into a warm blend of amber, musk, lily and sandalwood in the dry down (about 5 hours later on me).

I find that Truth reacts differently on my skin depending on the weather. I get a "refreshing/rain forest" vibe during cooler weather or rainy days (the bamboo, clover, lily and vetiver stand out here), and a "fresh, warm and cosy" vibe during hot weather (the lily, amber and sandalwood stand out here). I like it better during rainy weather. This is East African weather mind you where temperatures range from about 15-28 degrees.

mschnabel666

For some reason my initial love of uber sweet gourmands morphed into a love of green/vintage/woodsy perfumes. Go figure!

Got a cheap bottle of this from Fragrancenet, it's the COTY EDP, and the cap is super cheap and broken-- but I do love that sleek tall bottle.

Back in 2002 my friend and I worked at Bath & Body Works. This is an exact dupe (well, if memory serves) for Green Clover and Aloe. My friend Karen is very very picky about scents and she likes beachy-seasalt or fresh clean green- so Green Clover and Aloe was a favorite of hers. I bet she'd love this, and I'd prob give it to her if she wanted it.

I like this. Bamboo, fresh clover, woods, grass, and soapy freshness. Clean-green, but not like Irish Spring soap. It's very very light tho, so it feels like my old Green Clover and Aloe body spray. However, this was cheap and I like it enough to use 1/8 of the bottle at a time and then not repurchase.

Sabretoothkitten

I didn't think I'd like a grassy perfume. I don't like the male version. The female Truth is very fresh, pristine and beautiful. Natural, green yet feminine and ethereal. Idk how they managed to combine the grassy freshness with the sublime delicacy of a female essence, but it works. Love this and it's a total suprise. Good staying power. I think this is easy to wear.

This all leads into a musky, moderatly sweet, woody and ambery base with dominant vanilla and musk and the floral notes recede into the background.

Silage/Projection - 7,5/10(moderate projection for the first 2 hours, than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent's evolution)

I've blind bought this as I could get it for an extremely reasonable price.

The reviews here are mostly right. It's a very natural scent, beautiful and refreshing. I've tried it yesterday when it was scorching hot where I live.

There's something in there that's definitely "perfume-y", I reckon that's supposed to be the woman in the forest. The cooling floral and green notes are more like a backdrop to this warmth, although it might have been the hot weather yesterday that made the warmth in this scent most prominent. I imagine this scent would work better on cooler days.

But as things were, that warmth became somewhat overpowering to the point where I didn't recognise a human in it, but rather the hot, humid weather. I'm standing in a dense forest when I suddenly discover a lovely, deep blue pond, surrounded by an abundance of flowers, grass and bamboo; the clover is very apparent too. Not even the dense canopy of dark green leaves can keep out the hotness and humidity of this day and I'm staring at the pond, tempted to jump in but unwilling to do so, because I don't want to disturb the gorgeous waterlilies floating on its surface.I can smell them and - though it might seem impossible - I can actually smell the water itself. Its cooling scent and promise of refreshment is singing a hypnotising song of temptation like a siren that's seducing me to come nearer.

As I stand there pondering, the humidity becomes unbearable so I eventually look around to make sure I'm alone, then take off all my clothes and just jump in. I'm immediately surrounded by refreshing, cool (not cold) clear water. The refreshing feeling is so welcome on this day that I just do nothing and let myself sink deeper and deeper. This pond is surprisingly deep and when it seems that I won't reach the bottom any time soon, I start swimming. When I resurface I take a deep breath and inhale all the scents of the flowers and greenery, feeling deeply refreshed to my very core.

This scent is quite special in that it actually stays green and fresh throughout. Where most scents - even the greens and fresh ones - generally get warmer the more they dry down, this one manages to do the opposite until at last only the pond and the waterlilies are still present. It's quite remarkable. Especially how it creates this vivid imagery of crystal clear, fresh water. If water had a smell, this would be it.

Longevity is good, the base will last until the next shower, sillage is decent, but it becomes more of a skin scent somewhere in the heart phase. Spraying more should fix this, but as the head is so strong, I'd recommend spraying it at least half an hour before leaving the house.

Will test again on a cooler day, which will hopefully come soon.

Update: have tested again in cooler weather and I was right. The perfume-y, warm part is still there, but only in the very opening. It fades much quicker than on a hot day and only leaves behind that cooling, floral, comfortable, green aquatic. Very nice indeed.

Blueflowers

This starts out crisp and rain shower fresh and winds up a woody musky vanilla, but it is green all over.

The soft dry down is in direct opposition to the almost-but-not-quite bitingly green opening. The clover lends an air of sweet spring meadow that joins the two sides.

I really enjoy this.

juniemoon

I just got this today and am LOVING it! It must be the clover I'm digging, that I think with the peony, they are in a lover's embrace, cause it's something I'm wilding over that I've never smelled in a perfume before! Oh yeah. Even my adult son, who always rolls his eyes and acts all bored when I ask his opinion, pretty much every day, what he thinks, actually said, yeah that's nice! Like pulling teeth from him, seriously.

Really, this is discontinued? Why?

Edit - probably a good idea to get another bottle or two - you just know it'll get harder to find and that means the price will get jacked up very soon.

billbomp

I blind bought this perfume (I've always found all of CK's perfumes agreable). On myself, I get nothing like the grass or flowers others say they find.
On me, the perfume is a mix of wet bamboo, aloe Vera, and leaves a trail of non-gourmand vanilla and musk. It actually reminds me of a spa in Japan after a rainstorm. I've always like green perfumes which are not aqautics, so it gets a thumbs up.

Midnight Lady

I get very citrussy/patchouli opening. After the drydown the most prominent notes is certainly bamboo - it's soft, gentle, slightly fresh, different. There's certainly noticeable woody base to this fragrance with some a little bit sweet amber.

Certainly spring/summer suitable. It's not my cup of tea, I would prefer CK IN2U for summer over this one, but hands down, objectively this smells pleasant.

PaulieDoodle

I've been wearing this absolute beauty from it was first ever launched back in 2000!! For Me it was love at first sniff & after wearing it while out Shopping with my Mum I bought it before we left Debenhams for home!! I simply call Truth my "Uncomplicated Perfume" as on me it's deffo really fresh, green & very up-lifting & yet cosy at the Sametime!! As other people have mentioned this perfume will deffo not smell the same on everybody that wears it & that aspect of it I really do like!! From the very first time I ever wore this perfume till this very present day,I've never received so many compliments whenever I wear this gem!! & actually had two guy's follow me,a little unnerving lol'lol'lol'lol & then stop me to ask me what's the name of that stunning perfume your wearing!! & Being a senior Theather Pre-Op Nurse many patients, colleagues,Dr's & Surgeons have also said how lovely I smell.

In My opinion, this is the BEST Calvin Klein perfume to date!! It's absolutely gorgeous & I Really do love it!! There's no other perfume out there that smells the same as this!! Don't honestly no whether it's the fresh green/clean aroma or the Bamboo that's in this perfume that makes it so unique!! But whatever it is it surely work's it's special magic on me!! Just hope that Calvin Klein never discontinue this gem,& they realise just how special this creation really is!!

Agnesca

This is my very first test on this perfume. So far, I don't now wether I love it or not, but it's definetely not a hate one. I was expecting something refreshing, cool and green with jus a hint of amber and musk but on my skin it warms up to a dominantly amber-musk scent. After the first 2 minutes no cooling greenness is here for me. The pepper note is literally hot and pungent for my nose and that lasts for a very long time. I wanted to use it on hot summer days and at the moment I'm not sure it will work well or not in hot weather.
I will update after more testing.

Update: I spen my whole day testing Truth. And very sadly I ended up not liking it at all. It's not the perfume it's just my taste, for me, Truth is too simple in the drydown albeit very comforing and soft, I just wasn't looking for this type of scent at the moment.

Also, I wonder if reformulation can be ashamed for my bad experience. I really can not smell anything of the cirusy-fresh-grassy-green-floral accords in Truth. The only smell I can sense is that warm, peppery-spicy-ambery-musky concoction that could be even the cheapest drustore fragrance, too. It's not bad at all, actually it's pretty and can be lovely just nothing special.

I had a perfume years ago that had the same ultimate impression: Intimately YOurs by David and Victoria Beckham.

Very fresh and green, that's how I see it. It's ok for late spring and summer. Smells like clover and freshly cut grass, i like it.

Lalionne

@Gwenhwyfar: out of curiosity, I just opened my new back up bottle of Truth and the juice is indeed lighter. It also smells different, but it still had that special vibe. Because Truth is quite unique, in my opinion.

Gwenhwyfar

I was using Truth recently during hot weather, and now that cooler weather has set in already I noticed a very big difference in how Truth smells in different temperatures. Much more powdery, floral, warm and even a bit sweet in hot weather, and so very grassy green in cool weather. Almost like two distinct different scents. Amber and musk became very prominent in the base (cooler weather), and during summer it was more vanilla. I prefer it more in summer-mode - I think it develops better, is more colorful and shows off more nuances to it. This cooler grass-green aspect to it makes me sad for some reason..It smells like autumn.
P.S. I'm reviewing the old batch, from 2001. I heard that Truth is very different now - watered-down, and more masculine-smelling.

corkscrewcurly

I love oriental perfumes, but I viewed (with justification) the placement of CK Truth in the oriental woody group by Fragrantica with scepticism. I bought it anyway as the notes appealed to me; I have been trying to find suitable perfumes for muggy days here in SE England.

It's not oriental - and it's not woody.

This is a floral green scent.

On first spraying, I would have placed a bet on this containing lily of the valley; I know it's not a listed note, but that is what initially wafts under my nose. It must be the combination of flowers and bamboo, presenting as LOTV, but that impression is gone within an hour, leaving a slightly herbal, aromatic (almost smells like fresh lavender, when smelled from a distance) fragrance behind. The lily isn't that heady, it's more the smell of freshly cut stems and the buds, before the flowers fully open and spill that powerful, narcotic smell everywhere.

I am not picking up on any sandalwood or amber. Truth is fresh, green, citrussy - lovely for warm summer days, with moderate sillage and longevity (on clothing - this is gone within 2 hours from my skin, but that is not a reflection on the quality of the perfume).

Reminds me a little of EA Splendor.

Timby

I first wore this fragrance when it first came out. It was hot, and this is perfect to wear in the heat.
I do like florals, and gourmands and many other genres...but there certainly is a time and place for this lovely crisp clean fragrance. I also like to layer it with florals, just to tame the sweetness when you don't want to much.

By the wsy the body oil spray is fantastic too, bery true to the original.

To me this reminds me of cool, pure cut grass.

Great for casual wear or work.

It is a commanding frag., so no need to over do it. A little goes a long way.

Recommended to have in the repertoire.

Gwenhwyfar

I got Truth back into my rotation from the back of the drawer and decided to finally say something about this one of a kind perfume. All the top notes listed are definitely there and very distinguishable from each other. All of them together also remind me of freshly cut grass with clover flowers. In the first 10-15 minutes after spraying the scent can overwhelm in any weather. And then in an hour or so it seems to be very faint, almost completely gone. Keyword is "seems". I've had this large bottle since the year it was produced, 2000. Yes, I get distracted a lot to other scents and rarely finish a bottle soon. So I immediately thought: oh well, it disappeared fast, must be because it's an old bottle. Nope. As I went on with my day the scent kept appearing out of nowhere, when the wind would blow, or when I moved faster, when I would turn my head I would sense this delicate aura of perfume just hanging around me all day, almost 8 hours, and surprising me when I would already forget about it. The initial woody/green notes develop wonderfully into tasteful floral mix - I am not a big florals fan, it has to be just right. And this enigmatic scent absolutely gets it right. I smell more of mimosa, lily and vanilla in the development stages. Don't get much of peony.
The bottle annoys me though. I never paid attention to its design, but noticed it right now, that it's actually made at a slight angle, like it's bending in the wind or something like that. Unless, that's how the designer wanted to convey the perfume's association with a bamboo shoot, or a grass stalk.
I'm almost done with my bottle from 2000, and thinking to get a new one, but I noticed that the liquid in the bottle in the photos looks much much lighter, than the one I have right now. Mine is darker, almost cognac-colored. And it was this color from the beginning, it didn't turn.
If you bought Truth recently, is it really light-colored juice, and how does it compare to an older, darker version?

Alces Alces

Essence of spring! Gorgeous bamboo green note balanced by rich florals and sandalwood. For some reason a part of this reminds me a little of the original Dior Addict. Don't ask me how, since they share only sandalwood, blackberry, and vanilla. Just a quality here.

Truth has complexity and a natural richness. Somehow it's green, fresh, AND powdery. Great in rainy cool weather, when it seems to bloom. The clover note is strong. Truth reminds me of Jo Malone’s Nasturtium & Clover in the drydown, but Truth is sweeter in the opening. If Truth had more citrus it would remind me of Origins Spring Fever – however, the citrus is minimal here.

Note: As much as I love Truth and have worn it for years, I would not recommend this in the heat of summer. The vanilla and sandalwood can swarm. But for a cold wet day, it's unbeatable.

Once again Alberto Morillas is at his best combining naturals and synthetics to make a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

Perfumeaddict777

this fragrance blows me away in the fact that it's totally different than what I was expecting. It starts very green fresh crunchy and Dewey. I smell gorgeous bamboo Clover and lime. soon it starts to smell like a completely different perfume , it's very complex in my opinion. It turns into a warm, ambery ,vanilla and Lily fragrance with a small trace of bamboo left. I get what other people are saying when they say it smells like Dior addict, eau frache version. I started wondering did I have Dior addict on my shirt from last time I wore it? was it in my hair? Then I realized it was Calvin Klein truth. Very unique and wonderful for summer and spring. It's fresh and green but still warm and Ambery. It seems to have great longevity and sillage with my chemistry. Longevity is about 6 hours, sillage moderate. I'm very happy to have this perfume! I expected a green scent all the way through but it's so much more than that!

missguided23

The way this fragrance is described by Calvin Klein above is spot on. Three remarkable noses have created something that I cannot put into my own words. It's winter here in Oz... but quite warm. I layered with Estee Lauder Private Collection body cream...and liberally sprayed Truth. Almost 12 hours later and I can still smell this. I had heaps of trouble trying to find this fragrance but the search was well worth it. I'll be wearing this tomorrow too.

kati77

According to ads, it is a smell close to nature. Well. By my nose its citrus, delicate. I mostly feel lime, lemon and bamboo, and all related things.
In my opinion, it is not feminine at all. Although it has fruit and vanilla in it, it does not smell like heat, it's a scent associated with air fresheners, but it's perfume. Category fresh, clean.
Plus for being long on the market and not retired. Not my type. Persistence good - 6 hours. At the end already feel like washed out pillows. Such aromas - freshly changed sheets in bed.

ch336106

This is the fragrance fruity florals wish they could be. Its crisp, slightly tart sweetness blends seamlessly with its green woodiness, making it just slightly left-of-center. I originally thought, upon first sniff, that it reminded me of more conventional perfumes, specifically floral fruity celebu-scents. I liked it, but only because I already owned it, and was thus inclined to just go ahead and enjoy it. However, breaking it out after months of wearing my winter scents has given me a new perspective on this unexpected beauty. Its sweetness belies a gentle, dry complexity that welcomes the warmer months, but remembers what it was like when times were lean. A lovely little thing.

Waldina80

Summer rain on new green grass. Fresh bamboo. Opening the cooler at the florist. White lilies. Drydown of warm woods & hints of musk.

On bare skin 2x spays = 12 hours longevity. Perhaps a potent skin scent?

A bargain I found on clearance @ Walmart several years ago. Smells as fresh today as it did when I bought it.

If you enjoyed Coty Aspen Sensation, or you like Cool Water, or even the green bottle of Yves Rocher Ode a la vie (ode to life), you will enjoy this.

ETA: Demeter Wet Garden is also similar, tho linear. Also would be enjoyed by Florabotanica fans!

lalondem

Funny, I just read this review after spraying this on an hour ago. This was one of my favs about 10 years ago and its beauty does still hold up today. Very feminine. I have so many perfumes though that I'm not loyal to one anymore. This scent seems to have gone on discount at many stores, and is totally worth getting!

genny17

I used to wear Truth when it first came out, I always liked its dewy freshness, the hint of spicy, the fact that there isn't any other perfume that ressembles it..my husband bought it for me in a discount store, and the smell is unchanged!! I like the green floral notes, like fresh crushed green leaves. Nothing sharp..timeless in its simplicity, a pleasure to rediscover !! It isnt heady but neither would I call it light!? There is a hefty dose of lily in it, and this isn't a perfume I would overspray though, and I prefer to use it in spring..
It is grown up but certainly not oldish, there are certain perfumes that do not age well, Truth smells like it came out yesterday honestly. I detect the Morillas stamp, fresh, floral, pretty, some amber and subtle vanilla in the dry down..nothing out of place....the interesting part about Truth is that it has an icy edge, like it never warms up..like a waterfall in winter...
Just wishing it wasn't a 100 ml !!

muckata_11

I won this on Ebay(bottle of 100 ml for 9,99 pounds). It's really fresh summer perfume.Smells like Heaven. The citrus notes reminds me a lot of D&G Light blue, but the lily makes it softer.

agnieszka.scislowska

OMG !!! So many years I was wondering about this scent. I was even affraid about it to smell. But today I did it and it would be perfectif not that lily. The lily scent changes everything and makes this perfume a little bit cripsy and bitter. Without lily it wolud be the perfect summer scent, so fresh so clean. It reminds me a meadow full of fresh grass, clovers, and delicate flowers and suddenly the lily comes right out of the heaven a kill my utopia. Unfortunately no... what a shame... :(

singingsuzie17

I bought this blind as I wanted an everyday light refreshing fragrance for the summer and read reviews on Fragrantica.
I certainly got what I was hoping for but it's lasting power is very poor, so much so that I was reapplying every hour and got through a 100ml in a couple of weeks!
It reminds me a little of O de Lancôme which I wore 20yrs ago but it doesn't have anywhere near the same staying power.

ptilda

I get the bamboo, peony, mimosa, patchouli, musk, and vetiver mostly in this. It's what I call "full-bodied fresh." It's refreshing and clean and green and sparkly, but it radiates from me rather than doing the disappearing act so common to fresh scents.

The musk in it is actually quite dominant, though not overpowering. It has the feeling to me of Narciso L'Eau For Her. That adds a new dimension of depth that allows it to linger.

This could be a FB purchase for me. Possibly. With a few more wears, it could also turn from a strong "like" into a love!

verasdfghjkl

The perfect green, feminine, floral freshie. As soon as I sprayed it for the first time I was hooked. It's this hint of sweetness from the flowers that make this so feminine. The blend is mixed very well and the all the notes feel very balanced. I get mostly bamboo, with flowers, citrus, a hint of woodiness in the background and some crisp from the patchouli on the side, which works so well with the wet woods and feels like you're taking a short hike in the forest right when you spray it on. That balanced mix of notes does mean that nothing really stands out much except for the bamboo I smell quite well. In some way the bamboo comes off in some kind of aloe vera way. This fragrance either contains aloe vera or is the result of an accord of notes in it and I can't seem to put my finger on it, but it keeps intriguing me. Maybe that is because it should remain as a mystery. I find Truth to be really elegant without trying even a bit. It stays simple and I adore simple done well because it radiates confidence and strength in a very you-get-what-you-see-, or rather a you-get-what-you-smell-way. It oozes class, feminine class. Truth is extremely timeless as well. And I keep inhaling deeply through my nose because it doesn't matter how many times I smell it, it keeps pleasing my senses.

scain54

Ahh....this is really special. Lemon trees in bloom at first, make a fleeting appearance. Fresh, growing grass (not sinus-shattering mowed grass), with lots of clover. I get some citrus and spice at first, then they fade back and flowers come forth. Picture yourself looking for 4-leaf clovers on the edge of a forest pool overhung with willows and wildflowers and a stand of bamboo in the sunshine after a summer rain. Not far away are sandalwood trees, blowing in on a cool breeze. Not at all overpowering. Full bottle worthy!

PastelMoon

Great scent of a classic (and much better) Calvin Klein repertoire.

Initial burst is strong, lemony and alcoholic but it calms to be nothing short of refreshing.

It has a monumental yet familiar warm woody-ambery base enhanced by a sparkling green top that makes this scent.

Besides clove, vetiver, woods and bamboo, I sense a good bit of lily and amber, therefore it naturally gives off a demure association of Donna Karan Gold which I also like a lot.

Truth is a well designed fragrance, equally great for everyday and special occasions, subtle yet complex enough, truly attractive.

Staying power and projection is that of a old CK as well - rather good.

tessa2809

When I purchased Truth last december, it quickly ended in the back of my cupboard because I found it too 'safe' and not warm enough for winter. I was about to pass it onto my mother, since she likes these kinds of clean scents. Today I decided to give it another try, and boy, am I glad I did! This is absolutely beautiful and perfect for spring - probably for summer, too. It starts off with a slightly sharp citrusy bergamot, to develop in a beautiful green bamboo and peony scent. Classy, outdoorsy and fresh.

Sorry, mom. I'm keeping this one :)

stardust808

Smelling this makes my tongue tingle like when I used to smoke clove cigarettes. It's the same sensation if you have ever chewed clove gum or used clove oil for a toothache. I know cloves and clover are different but they have the same effect on the senses. This is a very interesting fragrance. I really do love this one!

stardust808

This just reminded me of a long lost perfume love of mine from back in the day the original Gucci Envy! No one has mentioned this but this is the first fragrance in years that's reminded me of it! It has that green/lily/stem thing going on...not spot on but similiar to Envy. Hmm...wonder if anyone else has noticed this...

Planet_X

What a wonderful review from lesgalaxies, bravo!
You described exactly how Truth smells to me. Clover chains and childhood memories, - sweet and innocent, like the sun rising under misty green meadows.
We were making those clover chains as well, who didn't? We also sucked the honey-sap from red clover blossom, like hungry bees, it is such a beautiful reconstruction in the Truth, of millions fragments from the Nature. The tall green grass, that hadn't been cut yet, even taller trees here and there, giving shadow for kids and homes for birds, - stalks, bark, leaves and among little hats of running children, modest heads of huge red clovers, - sensual, yet serene fragrance, if it wouldn't be so kindly sent to me from Nederlands in decant by lovely Lyla Rose - I would have never knew such beauty exists in perfumery, one of my most treasured bottles now.

lesgalaxies

CLOVER MANIA!

Making clover chains throughout my entire childhood, the scent is clear and tangible in my memory - catching lots of lily, bamboo, vetiver and lemon but whooooa boy there is CLOVER in this baby. Loving the distinction the silkwood blossom and musk bring to this airy, sweet and fairy-like composition.

Again, the clover -- it's the cool, green and somewhat ethereal bit that remains from the beginning 'til the end. Sweet, but light and blended beautifully with lily - it's a fresh, dewy breeze on a summer morning. This brings back early, early memories of my childhood.

During Summer months, I'd be carted off to daycare and on the walk down the hill to the entry way, there would be a dewy cold breeze and soft mists around fields of clover. Our entire school grounds were covered! The scent comforted and energized me, knowing the coolness would soon evaporate.

I remember laying under the sun and picking the petals off with my fingers, rubbing the remnants between them to savor their perfume.

Effortlessly, this scent wears "spring/summer daytime" to me and is an instant love. No idea why trend simply allows for gems like these to be tossed aside -- loving the cool, crisp feel of the early 2000's vibe this has. Not aquatic, not overly green but balanced and beautiful!

Crystals On My Converse

I recently bought a 30mls of this after trying it on the tester card. I have to say I am really enjoying it so far - it sits close to the skin so won't overpower anyone which is good as I work in an open plan office! This one is vey fresh like I would imagine a walk along a beach in autumn wrapped up in a nicw cashmere sweater to smell like. It is fresh but dries down to a nice woodsy crisp scent which sits close to the skin. Like your skin after a shower but better! Beautiful classy CK bottle too!

lulu169

my new fav! it smells just like a better version of my skin, not a perfume - totaly blends in with my skin like no other perfume. so natural - well, the ad and the bottle design says it all already. Dunno if it is just me or does it works this magically for everybody?? very neutral, lightly sweet, fits to all occasions , all times and all Ages. my only complaint is that it´s maybe too light, there is no silage at all, just for intimate moments only, it´s sexy in a subtle way. I love the ambery dry down, too.

The bottle is just design class! Looks fabulous next to my CK Reveal bottle, they both complement each other perfectly outside & inside. I use Reveal nights when I want to get noticed because its stronger but they seems to be like sisters

alias222

this was a birthday gift from me to me :-). Also, a blind buy.
Different than I imagined it would be (based on all the comments here), but still - very beautiful. Citrusy and fresh at first, then fowery and green after a while, and finally it settles down and lingers as a very soft, musky, feminine skin scent. I'd describe it as clean, classy, inoffensive, office-safe and totally wearable regardless of the season or occasion. It could work well with many different outfits, casual or elegant, but white silk blouse and black pencil skirt somehow came to my mind first :-)

Hellita

Truth is fresh, clean and outdoorsy. It's a sporty, green, floral scent with a hint of warmth from the amber and vanilla. It starts out a little citrusy strong, but it quickly mellows down. It's got good longevity and would be suitable as an everyday non-offensive scent when you want to smell "fresh out of the shower". What crossed my mind when I sampled was that it's a cross between Bvlgari Crystalline and a less zesty DKNY Woman. It's not a love from me, but it's definitely likeable and easy to wear. I can't imagine anybody would dislike such a non-offensive, clean fragrance. And that's the Truth. Honestly.

DreamyVioletta

Am I the only one who gets these badass like its all about naughtiness in here? Those are my associations anyway. I read about rainforest? How I found this- well I walked past the room of a boardingschool mate and couldnt help be stopped dead in my tracks. So it was Calvin Klein Truth. My associations of the word truth is like the truth behind the cover of clothes, like a man being allowed the secret in a womans private room. I got mine around 2003 and maybe it is different now ? It is lingering. Theres nothing like it.

Rebelrebel

The first spray of this on me is VERY sharp, I'm assuming it's because of the citrus-y notes like lemon and bergamot. Maybe some bamboo too. As it settles I get some of the flower notes, especially the peony, I've been really enjoying perfumes with a peony note lately. So I get quite a bit of peony from this, and another flower(s), I've never really smelled any of the other flowers ever. Not in flower form, or perfume form so I'm just assuming maybe it's the silk tree blossom? Maybe the mimosa? I don't get any blackberry but a lot of grassy notes. It dries to a nice musky, amber-y note with only small hints of vanilla. I like it, at first I thought I wouldn't really like it that much as I tend to prefer super sugary, over the top sweet scents, but I do really like it.

DIVa999

TRUTH melts on my skin like a butter. It seems to be so subtile in the beginning, but it has a strong rod inside. You will be surrounded with this temderness for hours. The good thing is - it almost does not fade away with time. Forever young, forever tender. Very green, but it's not a cut grass, this grass is alive, whispering under the wings of evening wind. This grass had enough of sun rays during the day, now it gives you all its richness of flavors. And you are sinking. It's like you are laying on your back in the field, watching the slow motion of clouds, lit by the last rays of sunset. And inhaling all the beauty of nature: warm, flowery, spicy, wet soil, spikelets...

Mellyhelly

I see so many good reviews for this one and if I never smelled it I would be tempted to buy it. Luckily I did smell it in the past on myself and others and it was a dislike for me. I had a boss who wore it all the time and made me feel sick.
Try-before-buy is my rule.
The overall concept of the scent was not bad, but the smell itself made me feel nauseous and headache-y. I don't know exactly what it was, but I have the same problem with virtually all CK's perfumes (saved old formula Obsession), so I guess it's me not being very fond of strong green perfumes.

BSweet

This was my signature for so long- another of the very few perfumes I ever used a whole bottle of. My first bottle was fresh, green, woody, and crisp.... But not in any way that assaulted your senses. It was peaceful and mellow. The second bottle for some reason threw a very strong lemony chemical smell... I never tried it again after that :-(

dorapolicarp

To me, Truth is so pleasant that I could wear it even if I had an indigestion. It's so light and amazing, I really feel I could take a bath in it. I got it as a gift and what I love about it is that I wouldn't have chosen it, because my favorite perfumes are stronger and more floral.. But when I sprayed it on me... This smells like a garden full of grass in which it rains all the time and it's always sunny. Like nettoyant said, it's perfect for someone who doesn't like fresh perfumes to be aquatic. I will absolutely buy it again.

Guenevere9

Another fragrance I actually finished, and even bought again! I use to really love this one in my twenties... I agree whit Kiyana_e: it smells like rainy days!
The woody background is feminine and quite different. I still wear it, sometimes.

JFrags

Really enjoy this one. I would say it has the typical attribute of a Klein Perfume [that being that is smells like a sample from a magazine]

It's understated and safe to wear in the office.

Wore this to work and it had a warm drydown. My manager enjoys this scent which is quite a compliment.

Definitely for those who are not into the overly fruity, flowery or sweet scents.

Woodiness is very warm and sexy.

Just use it on rainy days..... and then miracle takes place! Today I bought it and you know what?? Today was a rainy day!!! Yes it's a rainy forest scent. In my opinion the best season for it is fall and late summer. It's too much for hot seasons and not really pleasant for cold days. Choose cloudy and rainy days and also green places, then.....shine <3

desislava_nikolova

Grassy, Green, Classy and somehow cool...like light breeze :) not much longlivity.

AnitaWV

I like it, overall. It's very alcoholic at first but that always passes. I enjoyed the smell that first hour I was wearing it, but it faded during that time. I can lift the neck of my blouse and still pick it up, but no one else can. I wish it would linger, because I very much like the way the scent has changed. Fresh, female, and clean. I only had a tester tube, I might have one more application left. It might last longer if I layered it.

EDIT: Probably three weeks since I first reviewed Truth. Every time I wear it I love it more! the alcoholic smell passes in a few minutes, and the first real scent I get is a lovely floral rose with probably some jasmine mixed in. it smells good all day when I put on some Truth lotion first. And that scent at drydown is so wonderful! Clean but still intimate, like freshly washed skin. Not exactly musky, not exactly spicy, just pleasant. Still having trouble finding both lotion and perfume I can afford, but I'll get it.

ScarlettX

To me it seems very earthy, spicy and woody. I can't sense it as green as others here are saying. Maybe the one I tried has gone bad.
I don't like what I smell very much. It's shockingly sharp many hours after sparying. Wouldn't wear or buy it.

itstakenalready

I smelled this on a friend and had to have it, I was a teenager then. It is a very fresh and citrusy scent. It can also be called sharp but not in a bothersome way at all. Longevity is very good, sillage is moderate. My sister loved it too. I still have a quarter of the bottle left. I stop using the fragrance if I like it too much for fear of it being discontinued and I must say I did make quite a wise decision , haha.

CK Truth. This one takes me back.Clean.Grassy.Unisex.For me the bamboo and wet woods combo steals the show.Refreshing and addictive. Perfect in extreme heat and my number one pick for the workplace.A must have for my collection.True story.

Ain't nobody dope as me; I smell so fresh and (SO FRESH AND SO GREEN GREEN).

Truth is truly a green fragrance. I mainly smell the bamboo. A meditation garden in a bottle. A clean fragrance that's a bit off kilter due to the strength of the sandalwood as well. I don't love it, but if it is discontinued, I recommend picking up a bottle while they're still cheap. I owned Truth back when it was new, and I don't regret bringing it back into the fold now. Not a love for me, but a definite like.

bashak

I received my new bottle today. Probably i tried before but couldn't remember so it was a blind buy. I 'trust'ed your comments whom loves scents that i love. Thank you my friends, Now, i have this beauty before it sold out. I will buy another 100 ml bottle.

About the scent: don't disregard that it's a 'oriental' woody. If i don't see the notes here, i would say it's green and flowery. Perfect for spring. Sporty but not masculine. Flowery but not mumsy ( by the way i love mumsy scents). can be used in cooler seasons by who loves fresh scents. I personaly dont. Use carefully hot summer days.

nettoyant

This is the answer for those who want a fresh scent but don't like peony, freesia, aquatic/watery or calone/melon fresh type of scents.

The bamboo is green and astringent but the vanilla and sandalwood offer balance and warmth to what could be an overly bitter and cold fragrance.  I can see why Wasser was chosen to be Guerlain's perfumer.

If others hadn't pointed out that Wasser also formulated Dior Addict, I wouldn't have known though.  To me, it's a bit of a stretch to call the two similar.

dyen

Truth is grassy, clean, elegant. It's an exceptionally lovely woody floral with *character*. Memorable, warm and can still be bought for a song. The only thing I'm not keen on is the large bottle as it's quite unwieldy for my handbag. Sadly discontinued? Boo if so.

Nikkafragrance

The best fragrance with bamboo as a top note! Truth is like laying on the grass after a light rain in the forest. Maybe I am among the few people who detect something sweet in this perfume. The beginning is fresh, a bit sour, but sweet at the same time on my skin. Truth and Escape share a similar vibe, without resembling each other. Both scents are good for the active woman, full of youthful energy and willing to take up new challenges. I can see a sportswoman wearing this.

beckyboo

This perfume reminded me of Demeter Wet Garden. A lovely fresh perfume but more useful as a room spray

LadyPilot

Fresh and beautiful, like the scent that lingers in the cool, humid air in a flowershop. I get mostly lilies and peony, a little bit of bamboo and vetiver and some wonderfully delicate soapy notes. And maybe a few molecules of cinnamon but really a few... I'd wear this on a rainy April day:)

lkha37

I bought this when it first came out in 2000 as I fell in love with this beautiful mossy/grassy green scent. I used up all my samples and carefully hoarded my 3.4oz bottle which is almost full till this day. To me, this is in a similar category with Clinique's Wrappings as they both start off green but dry down sweet and woody. Truth starts off green, slightly mossy but dries down to a clean sweet sandalwood. It smells clean yet sexy to me. Only for use on special occasions as I'm worried I"ll run out.

dioraddictfan

An extremely watered down version of Dior Addict (which Thierry Wasser also created two years after this came out). I would call it Summer Addict.

alabangcute

Is Calvin Klein still manufacturing this scent?

perfumeproblem777

This is not at all what I expected. When I first sprayed it, it had a very peppery smell, similar to love by coach. I had to eventually get rid of that scent because I could not stand the pepper. I was afraid I'd have to do the same with this one, but my first impression was wrong.

The pepper smell went away within the first ten minutes, and a warm spicy Cinnamon smell developed. I'm a big fan of warm spicy smells because cinnamon smells great on me. Along with the cinnamon, the bamboo starts to develop, making for quite an interesting mixture. Some floral also appear to balance out the warm and crispy. This will be a marvelous smell for the spring and summer, but for these winter months, it'll have to chill out in the back. Lovely scent. Welcome to the perfume family.

truffles

Was pleasantly surprised on first sniff of this - all wet green freshness. After about ten minutes I was dismayed to smell cinnamon or something like it. Checked and it's actually the lily. Very strong and makes this frag unwearable for me.

Arlene-Beatrix

I have a dilemma. I like top notes and base notes very much, but middle notes... well, they are sultry and hardly bearable. Too much mimose possibly. Intense flowers often make a scent 'loud'.
All in all, I like this scent, but I couldn't wear it, maybe except for very rainy weather/lots of fresh air.

munchay

I was serching for this perfume for a long time.I still can remember 14 years ago when this was launched I received an vial with a magazine. All I could smell was bamboo. It was so good.Very unique I am not a fan of CK perfumes for women but this is the only one I have liked so far.I still can remember the unique smell. It has to be good for me to remember it after so may years.

Editing my post,
recenttly tested this,at a drugstore was selling for $20 the reformulation is nothing like the original. I'm wondering how come a CK perfume is made in France. And is this discontinued or still in production? Anyway..... no way I'm buying this, it smells so much watered down nothing like the original. It still has the original notes but there is something missing.
What a dissapoinment I so much wanted this in my collection. But no, not any more.

The mens Truth is still amazing. Best CK perfume that I have come across. So I'm saving it to the men. Too bad I can't use it.Well that's the
Truth about it.

CozyCat

I'm quite sure that oakmoss (edit: and also guaiac wood and acacia) are also in this fragrance...I remember looking up this scent on Basenotes about 11 or 12 years ago as a teen girl (I was that obsessed with it), and I actually memorized the notes (don't know how accurate the notes-list was in Basenotes though at the time, but mimose was definitely not in the list, I can't wear scents with mimosa). It used to smell deeper and more lush, more green and warm. Lately it smells more like lemon water...maybe it's reformulated or whatever old stock they had is turned, or most likely they are fakes...bottomline, the bottles being sold in some shops nowadays just don't smell the way it used to a decade plus ago (or maybe I've just been unlucky and there are still some good bottles around that I have yet to come across, who knows).

It's funny, but when I first tried Dior Addict a few years ago, something in Addict immediately reminded me of Truth...maybe it's the silkwood blossom and blackberry, and the sandalwood. To me, Truth is Addict stripped out of her dark and heavy sweet velvet garb, warm, radiant and quivering, scrubbed down with moss and dew, showering under a waterfall in a humid rainforest...or rather, Addict is Truth dressed up to the nines with vanilla, velvet, flowers, spices and taken out of the forest into the nightlife of a wild city. A friend of mine who had Addict as her signature immediately fell in love with Truth, and it surprised her because she was usually not a fan of clean/green/citrusy scents. Now I realize why. There is a sensual, succulent vibe in this fragrance that sets it apart from the other scents in its category, it's such a unique scent, the bamboo note comes off so beautifully, the most sensual bamboo accord I've ever come across in any fragrance with the note.

I miss this stuff, it was my first real fragrance, and was my signature scent in my teens up to my early 20's when it got discontinued. I had always gotten compliments on it (especially when I would layer a little of the sensual bedtime fragrance with it..OOMPH!) and I loved the fact that I smelled different from the other girls, most of whom were wearing fruity Escadas and Ralph at the time.

Winterspring

Crisp and clean. It doesn't last long on my skin.

bonnie52

Love at first squirt!! Not harsh or too loud at all! I get pure green and lemon; very similar to Jean Nate', which I also love. Very happy with this blind buy! The bottle is so sleek! I just wish the scent had better longevity : (

bridgette

Starts out harsh, like lemon pledge, then quickly softens (thank goodness) to a light, barely there, lemony, interesting scent. Subtle, light, citrusy.

ShroomRavioli

It's my personal favourite by CK. It smells like lily of the valley to me, even though it's not listed. It brings back so many memories. It's beautiful, crisp, fresh, comforting and very light.

jujy54

Amazingly, @alchemist1976stephanie, I am trying this for the first time on an early Sunday morning and utterly agree! The birds woke me at 5 am so I stepped out the back door to get the Sunday NY Times, came in and decided to have a Sampling Sunday, grabbing a decant of CK Truth. It has the pale pallette of dawn, with the mimosa and citrus standing out, and the sandalwood crisp and light. Now I am reminded of the first image in Wallace Stevens's poem, Sunday Morning, to wit:

Complacencies of the peignoir, and late
Coffee and oranges in a sunny chair. . .

alchemist1976stephanie

Ah, at last I have reclaimed my love! Every bit as fresh, clean and wonderful as I remember it all those years ago. The scent memory always remained and now even the reformulation, it still has the same effect on me....
The vision.... A lazy Sunday morning with light filtering through my living room through linen white sheers. Me in a creamy soft, thinly threaded sweater and cotton boy shorts lounging in the glow of warm sunlight with the scent of fresh laundry and crisp late spring air surrounding me.
This is such a comforting scent to me without being heavy or warm. It will forever remain in my heart.

NicoleET88

I bought a handful of samples on ebay that had already started to darken in color a bit. Maybe that accounts for the sharpness of the opening...or maybe this fragrance just always opens with a blast, I'm not sure.
I really like where this goes a few minutes after application. It's definitely a very transparent scent, which is what I was hoping for. The notes I detect most immediately are the clover leaf, lemon, and vetiver, the latter giving it a certain masculine bite. As it evolves the floral tones are introduced gently. I get a delicate hint of lily and peony, and a touch of mimose. I also feel a fruity tartness for a little while but it passes.

The one issue I have with this fragrance is in the base. It reads "oily" to me. Maybe it's just my skin that brings out this unfortunate effect, but it makes me question whether this is something I can/should actually wear.

(EDITED 4 YEARS LATER: I keep coming back to this one because I really want to love it. I always enjoy the opening, it's as green and wet and evocative of nature as I had hoped. After reading Alces Alces's review, I think I finally understand where things have gone wrong for me. I ONLY reach for this in the heat. In fact, I bought it in hopes that it could be a refreshing and light, summer fragrance. It never occurred to me to even TRY it in the cooler months because of my ingrained associations with the perfume as a whole. Because of this, the dry down always turns into a greasy, bitter vanilla on my skin.

Something made me dig my last sample vial out of the closet tonight, a few days after the weather turned itself to spring...but 12 hours after I woke up to 3 inches of random snow. Tonight it smells lovely, I'm not getting any of the oiliness. I'm also STILL not getting the sense that Truth is a fragrance that I'll wear. I always told myself that maybe if I came to some understanding of it, I would make it a real part of my collection and buy a full bottle. However...even now that I understand it, I still don't really *love* it...)

mamufa

Unfortunatelly it doesn't work with my chemistry. There was no bamboo, no lemon. No green notes at all. What I got on my skin was salt. I smelled simply salty. I gave it away.

artemiss

I stalked the stores for a bottle of this when it first came out. It was the only 'green' scent I've ever been able to wear. The clover and the bamboo turned into a fresh grassy 'skin' scent on me.
I still have that first production bottle, and alas, it has turned into pure acetone and alcohol over the years.
I'd buy it again, though, at the right price point.

musi1701

andacwandet

i want it because it has silk tree fragrance.it's my lovely favorite scent.

lirael00

First I thought this was just one of those plain jane perfumes, with nothing more to it. When I first sprayed it ony my wrist, my fears were confirmed. It smelled like watery citrus thing-not good at all. But after half an hour, what a total transformation. I don't think I've ever tried the perfume which transformed so rapidly. It was like I put on myself a completely different fragrance. Suddenly, I could smell something so femminine and sophisticated that I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist. I was even thinking that maybe I've used the wrong perfume or what. Anyway, this one is really lovely. It's simplistic, but it definetly has that something extra that makes it special. Wonderful.

sinnia

I bought this one cause the good reviews, so i really wish it to be good.
Well, First smell from the cap was disappointed. i feel some strong woody and sharp citrus, no sweet or florals i long for.
But i gave it a try anyway, you know that we must do.
What happen was, this perfume is really the warmth of lady's skin and. a hint of green grass after rain. very comfy and happy feeling to have this smell around you all day.
No one notice it on me, but i know i'm with it, my favorite cool rain in summer. :) now, i'm happy i got that huge 100cc.bottle!

flowerpwrz91

This is one of the few perfumes I ever get complimented on (SJP Lovely is another!). This perfume is very simplistic - At first spray, all I get is alcohol but, wait a while and the magic starts to happen. It really does smell of rain and freshly cut grass!
I bought my bottle fairly cheap on ebay, but after all the compliments - I am rationing it! I don't want to run out!

SorceressOfTheDark

Reminds me more of a unisex EdP. A sweet/sour blast hits upon initial application. It's like walking into the forest after the winter thaw and upturning logs, discovering soggy leaves that are underneath and moldy with dirt. It's musty. I know this works for many, but just not for me.
Is it green as others have said? Most definitely. But Calvin Klein Truth reminds me of dark moss growing on old buildings in damp dark places that haven't been inhabited in years. Stone buildings that are cold, damp and centuries old, overgrown with lichen. And not in a gothic, romantic way. More like in an asylum that has been an abandoned movie set.
The bottle is tall and thin, very unwieldy and easy to knock over, although simplistic in its design. Drys down to a woodsy dirty patchouli that wears for hours.

Pasaka

Very comfortable scent. Doesn't matter where you are at work, doing shopping or just wearing it at home it always keep you warm and calm. It's feminine and intimate smell. It's like whispers ' hey, don't worry. I'll always be with you'.

[email protected]

Beautiful fragrance, just received it today and it's amazing. It smells just like Beauty from Calvin klein, but there's a little more sweetness in it. I Recomend it.

Elisa S

Ever since this fragrance came out when I was a teenager, I have wanted to love it. The accords, descriptions (and even the posters, bottle and its name) suggested that this ought to be MY perfume. But sadly it just didn't work out for me. I have tested it regulary over the years, and what I get is a dominating harsh/sour smell and quite a strong headache...
I would suggest not to blind buy this one, as it seems to react very differently on different people.

degauss

Truth is rather unique, and more than in one way. I've had it before but always come back to again. This time, after unpacking a new bottle and applying the perfume, I've had a very vivid and clear vision of what it smells like to me - and on me: imagine a cinematographic samurai duel; it's late spring, already muggy, early morning, and they're fighting in a field with flowers, lilies there being dominant. The one who's winning carries with him the smell of sandalwood and vanilla, but that comes later. We know he is winning because his katana is already dripping blood. As they fight, the camera slo-mos on a particularly impressive swing; we see the bloody katana cut through the air, the lily flowers forcefully, and miss. And that's the smell. First, the fresh flowers in late spring, the curious hint of something almost salty, and then a final gust of sandalwood with a touch of vanilla as the day draws to an end - it was a long fight after all.
It's not precisely a fresh scent, and not particularly sweet either but it has the hint of both. Then it matures, like something left in the sun for a while. Quite the treat.

kakaka2

Truth is straight to the point! Being advertised as a green woody floral, a green woody floral it is. Starts very sparkly, very intensively green, may even be mistaken for harsh. This beginning is of limitless bamboo followed by zesty citrus. Nothing sweet, nothing warm. Imagine a glass of clear cold water with no added anything. I find it very refreshing, although it has the tendency to turn more soapy than just clean. I will most definitely give it a chance in these hot summer days!

cleo cupcake

This is a life saver in a hot summer! Subtle but very effective. So fresh and green like someone just cut some fresh young bamboo right in front of you. Then some subtle sweetness - no actual 'flower' scent but certainly floral in a very modern sophisticated way and finally some lovely creamy sandalwood. This is uplifting and refreshing at anytime but perfect for hot summer days and nights.

NicoleO

Soft, cool and woody. Slightest hint of citrus, floral and vanilla. I couldn't imagine anyone not liking this. Truth would be suitable for any occasion, and I think it would do well in the heat too. I love woodsy fragrances, I'm so glad I found this.

I don't usually go for fresh/green fragrances, but I'm making an exception here. This fragrance is so comforting I might even start wearing it to bed. Good sillage, and lasted on me about 5 hours.

sjam3295

I love this fragrance - it's very zen to me. I find it faintly floral, and very fresh and green, but in a calming, soothing way, and very natural. I feel like I'm bathing in a lake in the middle of a forest. I love to wear it to go to sleep at night.

Takhaet

It is a beautiful fragrance. Smells divine on my skin ...

It is woody but like wet forrest kind of way in the opening with bamboo freshness to it. Very green , wet even mossy i would say but nice and intriguing ......

Then it opens even more.....it is still 'mossy' but begins to be sweet and flowery....At this moment I can smell lilly, peony , sandalwood and still a hint of bamboo freshness.....and clover I think.

After few hours I can smell most of the notes but now they are accompanied by patchouli and lemon ....maybe a tiny bit of berries as well??? and vanilla- definitely vanilla.....

In my opinion it is a beautiful fragrance with lots of different notes and undertones. I think it can be refreshing in the mornings and seductive in the evenings....but like i mentioned in my other reviews it all depends on our skin chemistry.

My skin is a funny one -----most of the times the fragrances that other women say are fantastic and have got amazing staying power up to all day ...on my skin they "sound" flat and they disappear after couple of hours...and those fragrances that some women say are not very interesting , chemical and staying power is poor ...works completely different on me ----they normally devolop throughout the day beautifully and staying power is amazing :) ------not always- but quite often.

My partner recons it is very sexy , warm and fresh at the same time but quite strong and spicy....I get lots of compliments and people are asking me what im wearing.
I find it a bit strong in the summer so I wear it normally in the early spring/autumn/winter

xabaras

I read that the concept behind this fragrance is that the notes which compose it are so natural that they will blend with your skin magnificently and develop together the true, real smell of your personality. Well, I must have no personality then, because everytime I put it on it starts with a very synthetic whiff of alcoolic strength, and after it develops, it still seems fake, metallic and annoying. The WD40 my partner uses for his engines has got more personality than Truth, which in the drydown becomes totally forgettable, apart from the mild acrid pong. It must be my skin's chemistry.
I got rid of my bottle on ebay...

CitiBelle

The first spray of this is a little harsh for me, but shortly after comes the bamboo and clover, fresh and green, a workday scent, I like this now the weather has turned a little warmer, but there is a metallic element in amongst all that coolness, I cannot imagine wanting to wear this in the winter, There is a softer feel in the dry down and it is only then that I can detect faint sandalwood. No longevity on my skin unless I reapply. I like it but not as much as a I like some of the other green scents.

maeculpa

Will this bottle never end? I guess I just can't handle the truth in such alarming quantities.

I liked the fresh cut grass'n all that. Not really my thing normally but trying to branch out a bit, but the bottle seems enormous and I am so over this stuff. Also, while he nailed the grass thing I was hankering for there is that synthetic undertone that sort of ruins it.

I'm such a hoarder and I hate chucking things away. I began seriously buying perfumes a long time ago and at the time I always thought there was more value in the BIG bottle but to be honest, there isn't. I think always buy the smallest size and IF you use that up and still like the stuff splurge for a bigger one.

Note to self: stop worrying and toss it. And apologies to anybody who read this. It is a fine fragrance. I am just bored of it.

quackadoodle

Perhaps the bottle was off, but when I tried it, it smelled like floor cleaner. Chemical, with a touch of sour. I was not impressed. Reading through the reviews, it seems that this scent does turn quickly, so perhaps that is what it was? It wasn't nice, anyway. Perhaps a brand new bottle would be better?

pisces3774

Truth is the best Calvin Klein fragrance by far. While it's green and fresh with the bamboo, it's also deep and warm. It's what I would consider a skin scent, if applied lightly. It has a complexity to it that is rare, between it's warm/fresh and deep/green facets. One of the only perfumes I have purchased over and over. I think it's been discontinued, but it's still around online for now. Get it while you can!

nellyrlight

crisp and sharp are the right words for this one! you either love it or hate it..I love it!

margarita.angelova

This is my favourite fragrance EVER and If one day they discontinue it I'll suffer really deeply, seriously. That's one of my biggest fears in life.

hesione

can't decide if I like it or not, CK's fragrance always smell shampoo-ish/soap water-ish to me. Truth has a sort of sweet wine opening, the dry down reminds me my mom's old perfume from paris, super nostalgic.

Mordamaire

I got a bottle as a gift and fell in love with it. I bought a second bottle as it became my favorite scent. It smelled blooming apple trees on me, was very warm, subtle and classy and lasted all day. I got third bottle and it was a disaster, it smelled some beta-version of cold bamboo and lasted 10 minutes. I compared the 3 bottles. First two were by Calvin Klein Cosmetics. Third one - by Coty Prestige.

Lushylori

I just bought some of this today as a blind buy.
I'm really enjoying this scent. It seems very clean and crisp yet elegant also.
I detect the clover that has been spoken of in the reviews and i think it blends surprisingly well with the Peony.
I would have never thought that blending the two would work but it does.
Its not a loud scent to my nose so i think it could easily be worn to work.
I rather like the straight lined bottle too.I find it's sophisticated and classy looking and smelling with remaining clean and airy.
I think Truth is one of CKs better scents.
No complaints here :)

CoolBreezes

Just received a big bottle of this energizing beauty! Happy as a swingset.

It's delightful fresh mown green grass and clover. It reminds me of springtime in a verdant deciduous forest with a hedge of hay-scented fern that leaves this scent behind as you brush by. Sunlit green in feel. I'll break this out in March (northern hemisphere) to lift the doldrums. :)

Bajar

Back in 2000, I was flipping the pages of a magazine when I saw the Truth ad. The page was folded at the edge and when I opened it I could smell the perfumed strip that was inside. I thought that it was just a nice smell but in fact I was already in love with it because every time I was trying to read any article in the magazine I was going back to the ad and was sticking my nose on the strip. Two days later I bought the perfume. I tried some and I felt like I was lying on a field with fresh cut clove just before the sunrise. I really love green perfumes but this is like nothing else. It has a fresh, clean scent and at the same time it's flowery, airy and somewhat metallic. It lasts hours on my skin and I always get many compliments. I wish I could use it more often but Ι can't find it in my country anymore. What a shame!
