Cocosette

Powdery and slightly balsamic vanilla and cocoa, with some licorice at the top. Nice, easygoing and unisex, not too gourmand and very wearable. I find it superbly refined and masterfully composed, worthy of its beautiful golden bottle. Only issue is its low projection and longevity, but that may be a plus depending on the occasion.

Clairexoxo

I mainly get the myrrh and black pepper. It’s dry, very spicy, sweet, resinous, and grown up. I am not a fan of this dry spicy profile. Nothing wrong with the quality, just a matter of personal preference

iro222

The smell is beautiful Cacao and Myrrh but it does not stay long with me. The scent is intoxicating for me a safe blind buy as it is not too spicy. It‘s also well mixed.

buonobi

This smells like cacao nibs or cocoa dust to me..
The myrrh adds the dusty-incense vibe to it.
I love this scent but sadly it's a skin scent which I don't prefer, so I sold it.
In my opinion, this is so linear, very dry and bitter, not for everyday wear.
This better for layering other fragrances.

Sillage: low (skin scent)
Longevity: Moderate

oh my, this was LOVE at first sniff. i cant even begin to describe how much this scent is delicious. it opens up sweet&spicy and then it gets this warm, rich cocoa-vanilla that makes you want to take a bit out of yourself.
i NEED to get a big bottle of this.

Gold Myrrh Absolute opens resinous and spicy, although within seconds a warm gush of rich chocolate begins to bleed through. This is followed by a powdery, thatch-like undertone which, coupled with the vanilla, is to me very reminiscent of This is Him by Zadig & Voltaire. I do wish I could try them side by side for a better comparison, but sadly my sample of the latter is finished.

Once fully dry, you are left with a beautifully mellow combination of thatch, soft chocolate and the faintest dusting of vanilla beneath. It's elegant as hell but, if asked to choose, I would stick with This is Him, given that it's nearly £200 cheaper.

This is yummy. The opening is very peppery with an incense smell from the myrrh, that’s when you get the strongest myrrh note and it’s not even that strong. After a few minutes it turns into a delicious sweet cocoa powder smell. And it remains like that until it disappears a few hours later. It lasts about 6hrs on my skin and about 10 on my clothes. I don’t smell the licorice note at all…..also this fragrance sits really close to the skin, it’s more intimate. When I first sprayed it I thought I had received a fake because I couldn’t smell anything but give it time, it’s there 🥰

I got a teeny decant of this as a random add-on to another order and OOF. This is such a deep, rich, and warming fragrance - it almost seems like it should be a perfume oil with the heat it exudes. I've been a little wary of chocolate gourmands after striking out with some beloved recommendations (Oud in Bourbon was too synthetic, Ummagumma was a medicine cabinet) but this one is perfectly composed.

The chocolate in this truly blew me away. It's silky, luxurious, positively unctuous, just the most perfect chocolate note I could imagine. Rather than ruin it with sweetness, there's a terrific spunky layer of myrrh, tangled in licorice and a dash of pepper. It's the ideal textural, spicy counterbalance to the chocolate.

I can't believe I discovered this by chance, and of course it's discontinued. Time to hunt down a full bottle!

If you only see the notes, this fragrance could be a big mistake. But man, this is gorgeous. The dusty cocoa note is the main player here, but the immortelle joins the licorice and creates an oriental and luxurious coffee shop aura. The spray is perfect, the bottle is amazing and the juice is a modern jewel. Congrats to the Herrera team.

This is a free sample I received when I bought Gold Incense from Carolina Herreras website. You can currently get 5 free samples from the Confidential selection so this is a really good deal. This opens up spicy and then on the dry down I get resinous myrrh and vanilla. Such a sexy perfume. It's more of a a skin scent on me but maybe if I wear it out I'll know more about how it projects. The Confidential line just screams luxury and art and it was a very good idea to offer free samples because I'm in love with this whole range. I need to start saving up!
EDIT: I bought the FB

wherever u r while reading this, can u plz stand up and take a moment of silence while sniffing this in appreciation of just how fucking gorgeous this shit is? dusty dark chocolate (not powdery edible or caky or synthetic, DOES NOT smell like the chocolate in montale chocolate greedy), dirty incensy, not overly sweet; true myrrh that's not sticky rather churchy (as seen in armani myrrhe imperiale). just gets better and better in cold, projects and lasts a long time on clothes but not a beast. i don't particularly pick up on the immortelle personally but i can assume that it's the dirty thing i get? overall top 10 for life.

This is beautiful. The incense and myrrh are the first notes jumping out. If you love Encens Suave, you’ll love this. ES is no dupe, but they do share the same thick, resinous qualities. GMA adds a beautiful, dusty chocolate note into the composition. This is my favourites so far from the CH confidential line! As it dries, more milky, creamy chocolate comes through. The myrrh and the resinous notes still also hold throughout the fragrance. I really wasn’t expecting to like this but the hype is real! I also love that this is a wearable myrrh fragrance and not too overwhelming.

this is really beautiful. quite a lovely creation. it’s one of the fragrances that instantly affirms for me that perfumery is also artistry, and some people are just excellent at their craft. at the same time, this is not at all for me. i love myrrh in fragrsnces and wanted there to be more of it (especially based on the name). i could use more vanilla, too… and also less licorice and less black pepper. this fragrance definitely has an audience, i’m just (sadly) not it.

phrogfrau

This is beautiful. But I'm shocked and disappointed at how weak it is. The CH I have smelled, especially the Confidential line, are intense and have great projection and longevity. This I can barely smell unless I put my nose to my skin. Hope they come out with an "Intense" version!

diaanz81

Frankly, the first time I smelled Gold Myrrh I was a little underwhelmed and it took two wears before I fell in love. From the opening and through out, I get a decadent chocolate note, think chocolate fountain with liquid chocolate that's somewhere between a milk and dark chocolate mixed with licorice, which, has a very unique smell (and taste) - sweet but interlaced with a unique spiciness. When the myrrh and the beautiful creamy vanilla in the base come in, this fragrance literally hits the sweet spot! I absolutely adore the dichotomy of sweet and spicy - sweet vanillic chocolate combined with a spicy licorice and myrrh, that works in perfect synchrony here. To me, this is more feminine leaning being predominantly sweet and I think this fragrance will bloom in the colder months. This scent is warm and inviting with just an alluring hint of sexy that makes it totally captivating!

rednose

This is a skin scent. No projection. That or you need to bathe in it at the store to sing about its notes.

DarlingLovely

Rich, boozy, resinous, and warm. It's very cozy and delicious.

Sal333

A warm RICH fragrance, every not is amplified and coated with gold. I enjoy it in cozy winter nights in formal occasions, I am a young man yet this got my attention having the Myrrh note which I enjoy a lot. yet I kind of feel it is not my type of scent after multiple uses, fits an older lady in a fur coat or something of that sort hahaha.

Buy this if you wanna smell like a million bucks.

One con and a big one is the silage, weak and not worth the high price.

Scent 8/10
Longevity 8/10
Silage 6/10

Lovely smooth vanilla base, a little sweet and spicy. For me Mystery Tobacco best in the line but this is near the top. I'm surprised this range isnt talked about more....the blend and quality in these fragrances is 1st class. Well done Carolina Herrera!! 8 out of 10...

juice.world

Best from the line. Perfect if you wanna smell like a cup of hot chocolate.

Cacao is a rarity in the frag market today. Go and sample this stuff today.

From 2015 till now, Carolina Herrera has launched some fragrances in its own confidential line in collaboration with different perfumers. Gold Myrrh Absolute was launched in 2021 as one of the newest members, focusing on Myrrh smell. Myrrh is a mysterious and exotic ingredient in eastern ancient perfumery. It has a very addictive and magical effect in fragrances.
.
It’s a little surprising at the start when you’re faced with a strange herbal medicinal smell with spicy nuances. But you get a more comfortable vibe just a bit later when Myrrh and cacao render a beautiful resinous, amber and spicy facet. Then it becomes delectably sweetened because of vanilla’s prominent role. Meanwhile, licorice special sweet and spicy touch is present till the end.
.
To me Gold Myrrh Absolute is a very spicy, amber-vanilla and balsamic fragrance without gourmand character at all. It also has some special sweetness in its basic structure which makes it more gleaming and desirable. It’s overpriced for sure.

Raquel73

This opens in a cool and drunken way, nothing intrusive. The moment the cocoa appears and you start a journey of at least half an hour very similar to Noir from TF. Then the myrrh makes its appearance with a sweet balsamic touch and it is when it begins to project the most, at this moment is when I like it the most. After a while there is a fight between the myrrh and the vanilla and you get puffs of one and the other, finally in the drying the vanilla wins. It is quite similar to Guerlain's Spiritueuse Double Vanille. Except for the half hour of cocoa, but this has more projection and lasts on the skin until the next day.

Schmellin_Good

This is underwhelming when compared to some of the others in this line in my opinion. I'm not a fan of immortelle and it is very prominent here to my nose. Ruins it for me.

Allisonmsmith22

Fiery! The bottle is gorgeous but if it represented the fragrance it could easily be dark red and black, like embers. This is a super dry smoky woody incense perfume. Vanilla helps round out the fragrance but is not the main player for me until in the drydown. Smells like Encens Sauve and By the Fireplace together. It's lovely! Very safe blind buy IMO!

joana.pesheva

Very best among the whole CH Confidential line. I thought that nothing can beat my all-time favourite Bronze Tonka.
But this one proved me so wrong.
Comment belwo is spot on.
The scent is highly addictive and total jewel!

katrin.niisuke

I love Herrera Confidential series and let me just say this. There is a reason the cap is gold as well. This is their best work to date. Sweet, intoxicating, enveloping, gourmand and spicy at the same time.

Moresque Contessa, Xerjoff Lira fans pay attention to this one. It performs like a monster off my warm skin. I am afraid to imagine what it does when it is actually cold outside. I get liquorice very faintly which is a good thing for me personally. This is one hell of a rich juice. Presentation wise 10 out of 10, scent 11 out of 10. Can't wait to see what is next in this collection.

This is intoxicating!
When I first sprayed it I got some Eau Duelle Diptyque and Armani Code Satin vibes. (I'm a newbie so be gentle with me..) So I sprayed them all three on me and now I suffer from headache. While I can still type, I have to say that on my skin and to my nose Gold Myrrh is a little spicier, more straight forward and not as hypnotic as Eau Duelle and softer than Armani, like a between. It is sweet, vanillic, dry (I smell something woodsy or tabacco-y) and deep so initially feels more "female" but the pepper and dryness balances it and makes it easily worn by everyone!
I can't stop smelling my arm (which doesn't help with the headache). It doesn't feel unique but it does feel luxurious and sensual. Again I'm a newbie so I am all about feelings and not the detailed picture (obviously!! :).
Have fun!

PS: In case you have any friends in Greece, you can get the whole Herrera Confidential collection with a 40% discount at hondoscenter.com (I think they don't ship out of Greece, but you can check).
