Allure Sensuelle by Chanel is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Allure Sensuelle was launched in 2005. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Polge. Top notes are Patchouli, Pink Pepper, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot; middle notes are Turkish Rose, Bulgarian Rose, Iris, Jasmine and Dried Fruits; base notes are Patchouli, Vanilla, Spices, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Labdanum, Lavender and Amber.

Allure Sensuelle has preserved its unique and playful fickleness with dazzling citrus, fruity and floral notes, and magnificent wooden accords. Resemblance is there, yet the fragrance has become more mysterious and shady. It has not become heavier, but unlike the dazzling brightness and joyful sunny character of the classic Allure, Allure Sensuelle is warmer, its powdery (iris) and oriental notes are accentuated. Its sweet notes (candied fruits) are not obtruding, but hidden in sensual spices and frankincense.

The top notes contain bergamot, mandarin and pink pepper. The heart is composed of jasmine, rose, iris, candied fruits and vetiver followed by the base notes of French vanilla, amber, patchouli and frankincense. The perfume was created in 2005 by Jacques Polge. Its face is charming actress Anna Mouglailis.

It is available as 35, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

This is a sweet thick dense patchouli bomb ..and I LOVE it !

Happyolia

Absolutely love this fragrance. I really consider it a masterpiece❤️
Having 1/4 left of an old version I am tryin to save it and want to ask if the new one is much different?

disintigratedwoman

After reading so many reviews that hyped this one up, I figured I should give it a try. At first spray this came off extremely strong, and not very pleasant. Quite ‘mature’ to might nose as well. After about an hour or so though, a beautiful vanilla finally came through which gave it body, richness and softness. Despite the vanilla, some screechy notes remained until the end which makes this a no-go for me.

Thick bitter cough syrup. I'm so confused. Jaques is a genius. I'm glad chanel offers free returns.

chiaraherself

Very classy and vintage vibes + quite sweeter than Chance imo

mekanazekana

I had it and I still love it. So sophisticated, classy and absolute glam. It's ideal for colder days, but it is ok to wear it in spring time. I don't find it very strong, so it can be wear on warmer days. Rose, floral scent is dominant, but you smell red pepper and citrus, and vanilla and sandal wood give that strong scent trace.

Creamy_ambrette

Wow!
This is so chic!
I recently dove head first into Chanel and the first was Allure edt - which is funny because when it comes to fragrances, my favorites are the warm, rich orientials- the more syrupy resins the better!
I was presently surprised when I liked Allure. So much so, I knew I had to find Sensuelle.
She is zingy, earthy, sweet, voluptuous yet restrained.
My skin projects dark jammy fruits that have been elevated with bright, tart citruses.
Backing up the chewy fruit, I smell powdery, slightly earthy woods and resinous amber.
Sensuelle is magnificent!
* *For those fearful of patchouli: The patchouli isn’t very present here -at least not in the ubiquitous “fruit-chouli” way or the borderline raunchy patchouli you find in Mugler’s Angel. This Patchouli is fresh and earthy.

Masterfully blended by Jacques Polge, that I won’t fault it for not being louder. I like my fragrances to come to me rather than me having to bring my nose to them.
Sensuelle isn’t a skin scent but it also doesn’t jump off my skin (I don’t perceive this to be beast mode or overwhelming and I sprayed 6 times) I do believe it leaves a beautiful scent trail.
I do not have a newer bottle.
I believe mine is from the 2010’s batch code is HH1. I try to buy older formulas whenever possible.
I also have Coco edp (vintage and modern formulas) on the way and Coromandel. I think Coco Noir, Coco edt and No 19. are next on my list.
Edit: I’ve been wearing this for hours and the mid/dry down reminds me of the sweet fruity amber mids of Miss Dior Absoluetly blooming and Afnan’s Modest duex pour femme - both are much sweeter than Sensuelle but I definitely smell the similarities. I can also smell the similarity with Shalimar Soufflé (I only have the intense version) but only the opening and mid of Sensuelle do I smell Shalimar Soufflé then it goes dark, fruity and ambery woody.

A pop-up perfume stand popped up at my husband's work the other day. Presume management decided to have it in the foyer for their over-worked lawyers who'll never get time to go xmas shopping.. I got sent a video of the tables of wares. "Is there anything you want here?" There was this or Santal 33 or Cristalle Eau Verte, the only things I'd want that I didn't already have.. my spider sense said Cristalle for some reason, but it felt wrong season for it so he got this, about £25 off normal price. The reform news of Cristalle popped up a few days later.. oh well. We always want something else.. lol. I don't get on at all with the OG Allure but this one is everyday chic. On me the patchouli is pretty loud n then it falls away to reveal the rest, quite softly. This is as alluring as I ever get anyway.

SaraZigova

It is chanel but make it more sexy

ballerinanoir

Smells like a old money type of personality, elegant and posh.
Chanelesque - I can smell a trace of the so called granny scent, which gives this that atmosphere of “if you know, you know”.

Patchouly, dried fruits, pink pepper, peach and a hint of vanilla.
Sillage: moderate
Lasting power: +10 h on my skin

Reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP and Quizás from Loewe.

It s my trademark. I feel very bold wearing this scent. If you like patchouly scents, I suggest you give it a try.

Allure sensuelle reminds me of my all time favorite perfume : The one and only Samsara by Gueulain. It's almost the same ! I get a lot of sandalwood ... SO addictive

jjluvsm9

Definitely & by far my favourite Chanel perfume from their main designer range! None even come close to this beauty.
Allure Sensuelle ticks every box for me, it’s almost like an amalgamation of all their other scents. Soft patchouli, a hearty dose of spices and feminine pink pepper (esp in the opening), the fuzzy peachiness of the OG Allure with that creamy sandalwood and an unusually vanillic twist. This has it all! It’s fruity-floral-spicy and just gorgeously girly.
Very versatile, for me this is a great workplace scent but it could work on date nights too.

Could become a new signature scent for me if the performance holds up enough… I’m just in love. I dare say I even think this is the only main line Chanel frag you need! ❤️

Violinplayah

I thought this would be a Coromandel meets Allure but it’s actually just Allure with the patch dominant rather than the sandalwood. It’s good, but superfluous if you already have the original. Like the original, it’s hard to go wrong with time/place/season, so I’ll definitely get through this bottle pretty quickly. Funny how this isn’t any game changer or holy grail scent, but it’s just plain good so it gets so much casual wear. Don’t love it, but it’s definitely a great every day feel good smell good dumb reach.

bashak

Opening is a little harsh and masculine to me. Almost muddy. I asked myself if it was possible for it to be so bad. Then it turned very quickly to most beautiful, most delicious earthy vanilla scent. Better in cold seasons but I can easily wear this on cool spring days and summer nights with small spritzes.
Like @brokesta911 mentioned, Allure Sensuelle reminds me Guerlain L’instant and Angelique Noir. But I prefer AS.

brokesta911

Chanel Allure Sensuelle (2005) - vanilla floral - This discontinued #jacquespolge creation reminds me of a Guerlain. Chanel rarely makes the Vanilla accord prominent in their perfumes, knowing for a fact that it’s their competitor’s signature style. In fact, this is the only one! The perfume starts with bright Citruses, aromatic Pink pepper and stone fruit. This transitions effortlessly to a Patchouli-Floral accord that meshes with a Vanilla-Amber. Vanilla is not sickly sweet, but smooth and rounded with White musks. Spices, Labdanum, and fruit accords are interlaced creating depth and nuance. A beautiful Guerlain in a Chanel bottle.

YenSung

This smell like a grown women, not old, not vintage , a strong, sofisticated independent and feminine women. It is indeed sensual!!
It is also worth mentioning the sillage which is tremendous and the longevity, you'll be able to smell yourself for 10+ hours so I guess others will too

NDL

My absolute favourite Chanel, so so beautiful!

rosetinteddream

Oh geez. I have been surprised yet again by my judgements that proved to be unfounded. I bought a very used 100 ml bottle online for quite cheap just to try it out.

THIS IS WONDERFUL! It’s addictive! I’ve fallen in love with the Allure EDP after wrongfully thinking this line was going to be basic and not up my alley (I’m still traumatized by Chance Eau Tendre and Gabrielle, despite being an absolute Chanel fanboy). This is Allure…and SPICES/PATCHOULI/WOOD. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel and I am addicted to it. It is such a nice balance. It’s the kind of patchouli perfume I am more into, not a fruitchouli by any means. In fact, something about it has a “Coromandel Eau Fraiche” vibe or something. I love Coromandel with a passion and this gives me that kinda feel, but lighter and different. I was afraid of the lavender note as I am not a fan, but I can’t detect it at all! The menthol comments also had me hesitant but I don’t get any of that! I’ll come back with comments about its staying power once I’ve worn it for a full day. I received it about an hour ago in the mail. But I will say it’s such an instant love, I found a cheap full 100 ml tester bottle and just bought it a few minutes ago. I still haven’t gotten a full bottle of Coromandel (just used many samples), so before that happens (I still can’t bring myself to pay so much for a full bottle)…this might actually be my signature.

🥀

Update 02/23 - It’s been less than a month and I absolutely love it. I’ve worn it a lot (I also broke and bought a full bottle of Coromandel 🥰), and really enjoy the feeling it evokes. It is definitely a sensual vibe, while also being elegant. It’s very cozy and inviting, without it being too warm or too much amber or patchouli. It’s really well done. It has pretty good longevity, with it staying even longer on clothes. I don’t think it projects much after a few hours unless you spray a few more sprays than you would with stronger scents. But I have found a trick, I do a couple of sprays of Chance edp, and after that has dried I spray this over it. This actually shares many of the notes in Chance edp, so it doesn’t affect it too much. *I also think the notes listed on here are incorrect, I actually don’t think this has any lavender.* Eventually I’d like to get the body cream to see if that helps with projection, even though I still am very happy with this. Not every fragrance needs to be loud and be noticed by others, sometimes it’s nice to just have something for you.

Btw I think this and Égoïste are Chanel’s hidden gems.

Update 10/27 - One of Chanel’s best offerings from their main line and exclusifs collection. I love so so SO many Chanel’s, there’s only a few I don’t care for. And although I can see the artistry and appreciate all of them, this is up there in their best options. It stays forever on my clothes, I get tons of compliments, and I feel so good and beautiful when I wear it. I never thought I’d love this as much as I do but I’m on my third bottle. Part of that is because I sprayed a lot of a bottle into a soap & glory rose/patchouli lotion so I could have a body cream that helps with the longevity on my skin. But overall I will continue buying Allure Sensuelle, the surprising and unexpected love that I hope to not ever be without.

Chanel.com site still continues to carry the full lineup of Chanel Allure & Allure Sensuelle EDT, EDP, Parfum & can still be purchased online through them. This is good news for those who enjoy this lineup of fragrances from Chanel. Enjoy & Happy New Year To You All! & Yes, I really enjoy these fragrances, but I do need to bolster mine for added oomph & longevity. I purchased mine online, & sampled them in Macy's prior to the pandemic lockdown. These were the only ones from Chanel that captured my fancy during that visit. It was the deep & enveloping boubon vanilla from the spray of Allure Sensuelle EDP, that had me smelling my inner wrist over & over again & happily sighing with wonder & awe over this lovely fragrance. I actually wasn't sure whether or not it was Allure Sensuelle EDT or EDP, so yes, I did get both. & I did the same thing with Allure EDT & Allure EDP. Still happy I did. Still happily experimenting with what to pair with them to bolster my experience while wearing them. But now that department stores are reopened, I definitely recommend getting samples with correct & corresponding names, so you can decide the ones you want to get after you wear them over a period of time. Still pricey. Still have merit. Also, I use Jessica Simpson Fancy Love as an affordable & more lush & lavish version of the more prim & proper Chanel Allure EDP, which I sometimes love even more. Sometimes I need more lush & lavish to suit my needs. Sometimes I need prim & proper. It's always nice to have options. Also, I generally use the Perfume Finder Feature here on Fragrantica so I can view a broader range of notes that form the composition of a fragrance vs the more limited list of notes provided on the ad copy page of a fragrance. Generally 20+ notes vs 3 notes, provides & gives us all more to go by. & I would like to see Fragrantica Editors point this out to everyone, because it can make a big difference when trying to figure out if a fragrance will suit you well or not.

Having enjoyed Allure, I thought I’d try Sensuelle. The initial spiciness seemed a little sharp however this did soften. There is a nice depth to this perfume which was intriguing, it has a sophistication to it. I loved the dry down far more than the initial fruit blast. The spicy woodiness and rose almost seemed a touch Smokey. I quite like it. Suits evening a little more than day wear though I feel.

LSAUG

I have tried a lot of Chanel perfumes, and all have been hugely disappointing for me, but the Allure line is a winner for me. The line as a whole smell so much more well-rounded, they are precise w/out being harsh, feminine w/out being sentimental or overly romantic and they smell clean w/out being a total bore like many clean perfumes are. I am not getting any of the usual Chanel Aldehyde w/ any in the Allure line and that maybe why I like them so much. Allure Sensual has a bit of the DNA of the original but this perfume is more about patchouli. This is the type of patchouli that I like, not dirty, or hippy dippy. It is earthy enough to be noticed but you won't smell dirty. The spices are softly done and just add warmth to the earthy patchouli accord. Slight rose and a very nice delicate powdery iris make this quite pretty for a patchouli dominate fragrance. I do not find this similar to the Coco Noir at all, that smells like pencil shavings to me. Why that is so popular over Allure Sensual I don't know. For my money the Allure line is the very best that Chanel has on offer. Well blended, feminine. A confident woman wears this. It reminds me of a more polished version of Love memoir by Iman which I own.

Edit: It looks like this has been discontinued and since you have to be very, very careful when buying Chanel's, I probably won't get a bottle of this. What a shame, this is a real winner. A lot better than Coco Mad, or the Gabrielle's. I've wanted a Chanel for my collection and the search has been tough, but it is going to be the Allure EDT. I personally think Chanel should promote the Allure line a lot more than it does. All of these are brilliantly crafted perfumes and very good value for money in my opinion. The lasting power on all 3 of these was stellar.

Scentfrommanna

I first smelt this fragrance in a very weird setting. I had to take my mum to the hospital when she was unwell and whilst we were waiting for treatment a very kind nurse came over to us who smelt out of this world amazing.

Both my mum and I complimented her fragrance and she told us it was Allure Sensuelle. Thankfully my mum was fine, else it may have triggered bad memories for me, and so I went on to buy this fragrance, which my mum and I still refer to just as “ the nurse’s perfume” 😂

It is a beautiful spicy patchouli bomb that becomes very much like a second skin, but with good longevity and projection. The citrus and fruit notes that the original Allure is well known for are here to stop it veering into Opium-level spiciness (I adore Opium though!). I always loved the original Allure EDT; which I first discovered dousing myself with whatever was on the fragrance counters when I was a poor 16 year old shopping with friends; this definitely has that Allure DNA in it, but is way sexier! I would almost say this is a winter and night-time Allure. As someone else commented on here, it’s very much a grown woman scent, almost like Allure grew up into a classy, beautiful woman.

I would love to make this my signature but do find it works best when I am well dressed and going somewhere, whether that be work or otherwise. I work from home permanently now and it’s too much in that setting.

It is a compliment magnet, I topped it up once in the office and a number of colleagues said straightaway how incredible the room smelt. I am quite a shy person and didn't confess it was my fragrance ☺️ My mum and family who are never backward in saying when they don’t like my perfumes (which is quite often!) also love this on me and also feel it’s appropriate for all round wear provided you don’t overspray.

I wore Chanel No.5 throughout my late teens. I wore thick, headshop patchouli oil throughout my 20's. In my 30's, my boyfriend chose Coco Mademoiselle for me and i wore it for my wedding (to him), and throughout the years giving birth to our babies. Now that I'm in my (ahem, mid) 40's, which Chanel is for me?? After careful consideration, I picked up Allure Sensuelle and Coco EDP tonight from my little Chanel boutique. Both are absolutely exquisite. Allure Sensuelle is warm, sweet, creamy - almost buttery. Sandalwood. Patchouli (beautifully smooth). Vanilla (good one). Peach? This is delicious but in a non-gourmand way. I am hopeful the longevity will be as good as everyone says it is. Exquisite.

Gyps

I think all Chanel perfumes are beautiful blended and well rounded. This one is no different. Happy with my purchase 😊

AlineAllure

I thought this perfume is pure patchouli and this can be wonderful for those who are into it. Patchouli is sexy in moderation. i am not the best reviewer but i will try. On my skin, Allure Sensualle smells very patchouli and pepper at first. After that all i can smell is this menthol note that i was reading about in reviews. Nothing sensual. Very synthetic, medicinal in a way. In 25-30 minutes it settles down intro something floral, but not those spring flowers. It is kind of powdery and creamy flower. I dont like roses in my perfumes, but this is a different kind of rose, or not rose. And then i feel a little but of patchouli mixed with the flowers. Not too overwhelming. Very mild and soft patchouli. I would say it is a soft scent. A little bit older type of smell, but not granny types. It is very well blended. Please just give it 30 minutes to feel the true aroma. It is not my favorite but it is a beautiful creation.
Update: staying power it is not the best. It smells completely different on the skin and on the clothes. Mmmm, i am not a fan of the way it smells on me.

YenSung

Ohh the Chanel DNA is definitely in this one, it's like as if coco chanel and coco mademoiselle had a baby, the dry down is sooooo beautiful this could easily be someone's signature scent, I actually think this is my favourite from the house. Ahhh longevity is great but I think most of them are (minus coco noir)

Edit: there is something about this house that becomes engraved in you.. no matter how big my fragrance collection is and how many expensive niche fragrances I own I always come back to chanel particularly this one and I use it everywhere even the gym although I don't think it's appropriate but... oh well can't blame me for smelling good 😅

violeteme

The most pleasant and the most Chanelesque version of Allure. I am not very keen on Allure at all, but if I bought one, I would pick this. This has that usual Chanel type of patchouli.

nadicamihajlovic

Allure Sensuelle is all about white incense to me. There is some Byzantine spirit in this perfume that makes him sacral and elegant at the same time. This could just be a very subjective impression, still, somehow I see it as a perfect perfume for some major historical female figure, like empress Theodora. There was a rumor Lagerfeld used to hate this perfume, or maybe original Allure, not sure, but I just don't see why or how. Gorgeous white perfume, warm, sensual, and subtly sweet, best aura and sillage from all Chanel perfumes I had the opportunity to experience.

Callista25

I am not a fan of the original Allure, so I was surprised I liked the Sensuelle version. Not groundbreaking nor particularly distinctive, just a well done amber. There is something about it that drew me in.

WGG

Mmmmm.....patchouli overlaid on the classic creamy floral Chanel formula. The original Allure is uber classy, feminine, daytime, approachable. Sensuelle is darker, deeper, mysterious. I'll show my age but imagine the likes of Honor Blackman, Diana Rigg, Charlotte Rampling, Jacqueline Bisset as potential wearers. Classy, but also sassy, very feminine but also no nonsense tolerated from little 'boys' or 'players'. Mind you knowing what they want from life and men.
This is a beautiful perfume, but because the patchouli can be challenging, sample before you buy. On the other hand, Allure is probably a safe blind buy for Chanel lovers. One of my absolute favourites this is, just behind Coromandel.
4.5/5

MarlenaStell

This is easily one of my favorite Chanel Fragrances! It's a rich amber floral with rose and iris and the heart. It starts off fresh and spicy with the pink pepper and the citruses and a blast of patchouli (I usually HATE patchouli, but this one is so well blended I actually love it)

It dries down to a creamy floral with the amber and sandalwood- this balances out the top notes and keeps the patchouli from being too sharp. It's slightly sweet but not cloying at all. It's a grown woman scent but not vintage. I love this one so much for a signature scent that feels classy and has the classic Chanel DNA but richer and more amber. Well blended and very luxurious feeling

MCW7

Whew! all I can smell is a very spicy pungent patchouly.. pepper. I don’t hate patchouly, but hoping on the dry down this is a little less obtrusive. Almost a menthol type of smell it’s that pungent.. even though I know there is no menthol in it.. I smell no vanilla, no dried fruits, definitely citrus. To be continued… UPDATE
Talk about doing a 180° turn around. I love this perfume. Is spicy beautiful and the very representation of what Chanel used to be.. Best one left..

fishandbear

If you liked Coco Madamoiselle but felt it was for older women, this is for you. This is the younger, lighter, yet just as sophisticated Madamoiselle.

churinl

Between Allure EDT, EDP, and Sensuelle, Sensuelle is my clear favorite. Let me first say that I am not the biggest fan of patchouli. I don't know where Chanel sources there patch from or whether it's just brilliant chemistry and balance, but I love this, and love even more the patch dominant Coromandel! I'm also, generally speaking, not a fan of heavy amounts of pepper, but in this instance, it seems to help accept the rose note while providing a bit of a kick. I find the composition to be silky smooth, provided you don't overspray, which I just did - which I just did! LOL
Seriously though, you don't really need more than a few sprays. I use a perfume primer with all my perfumes and it really helps increase longevity. I'm not quite sure I need it with this one. It's projection and silage are both very noticeable, another reason not to over-spray, unless you want to announce your approach 15 seconds before you enter a space and leave behind a memory when you exit.
Overall, I think it's the gorgeous sandalwood that holds the composition together and makes it so smooth. I also really enjoy the vanilla here. It's most definitely an adult vanilla, fragrant but not too sweet.
I received this in a swap with a lovely fellow Fragrantician and I am very pleased. This is a love for me, and I think that if it came out today, it could easily be part of the Les Exclusifs line.
EDIT - I just want to add that in my opinion this smells much better in the scent bubble that surrounds you than it does if you sniff your wrist up close. The scent bubble really demonstrates the idea of impeccable blending, but when sniffed up close, it can be pungent, with the pepper and citrus very noticeable.

brightsun2205

Chanel's Allure Sensuelle EDP never fails to impress.

If you love warm, fruity, spicy and earthy scents with better depth and complexity, you will love Chanel's Allure Sensuelle.

Sapienta

Extraordinary scent. Chanel never fails. It has layers of citrus, flowers and dried fruits. To me its amalgam that resembles incents. To my nose, its completely different from regular allure. On the dry down it falls into creamy heaven..

madonnatella

this is a fabulous perfume. now already 'ALLURE' is an exceptional perfume. I remember starting with the edt (1999) and following it up with the edp. it is a pity I didn't held the booklet, of 12 pages or so, which was with the edt. I know it was stated that this was a facettuous perfume, giving you all the notes as one and immediately. also did CHANEL for the first time in the 'new age' variate on the black-white-grey theme. with a sophisticated rose-grèige cap and 'silvered, gilded' band. as her previous perfumes this was such chic perfume. then, (out of my head: ) [2005] five years later they followed up with ALLURE SENSUELLE. I immediately liked it and it seemed an exoticizing of the orig. ALLURE. with the same chic strain running through. these are all refined flowery amberperfumes. in SENSUELLE the patchouli definitely takes the lead. in my sensory experience patchouli gives some 'fatty', substantial, earthy body. I think, feel, the larger dose of patchouli, along with pepper, laudanum, spices and dried fruits lend an exotic, more oriental twist to the first ALLURE. these are both genius perfumes. and as I checked the chanel website this morning, it is still available in edt and edp.

AnlisaC

Another excellent fragrance from Chanel. I’ve been a fragrance collector for 3 decades and I remember when this came out, my daughter was born and I was treating myself to something special and Chanel is special, my husband gave me a few push gifts and this was one of them. I am NOT disappointed in this at all, it’s a beautiful sophisticated scent for a grown and mature woman, not a young girl like my daughter. The patch is front and forward in this and yes it is sharp when first sprayed but mellows out in the drydown to a soft rose fruit scent. Projection on this is amazing and you will get noticed. Longevity is also amazing and I really enjoy this in the drydown. As we all know fragrances are subjective and just because this is a love to me, it may be disappointing to another person. Chanel is a sophisticated luxury house and whatever they produce is definitely money well spent! If you like a patchouli rose with fruit mixed in this is for you! Now remember this is discontinued and hard to find but if you come across it buy it! Highly recommended 9/10 Not a summer fragrance not sure how this will work in heat great for spring, fall and winter. Night and day scent

MCW7

Nothing but a weird sharp menthol/pencil shaving smell. Blind buy for me and wish I would’ve not bought it. just not my type of fragrance especially from Chanel. I expected more. I smell no flowers no peach. I own eight Chanel fragrances and this is by far the worst ever. Totally confused what the hype is about?

sanitsa

On my clothes and skin it projects as a heavy floral fragrance of the highest quality with eternal staying power and strong sillage but also - unfortunately - with zero amber notes.
It's a quite pricey blind buy that hopefully will find a loving home among my family/friends someday.

(Review of a 2009 bottle) I think this perfume is a work of art- not just because it's complex, but it evokes the need to keep sniffing it. And I'm so glad I did! I bought this fragrance blind because I enjoyed the original Allure, and was initially repulsed by it (it smelled like blood, overripe fruit and flowers wrapped in sharp ozonic notes). But the complexity and mysterious charm of it kept me coming back again and again to have another sniff. Now that it's cooler here, this scent has bloomed into a spicy, leathery rose fragrance that's sophisticated, sensual, and hits that elusive Chanel-ness spot for me. The original Allure is still there, but only at the tip of my nose. Definitely worth getting your nose on a sample of this one! Lesson learned: don't be too quick to write off fragrances that peak your nose's curiosity, but don't smell "nice" on you-- especially if you live somewhere that has different seasons.

FlowersinBloom

Allure Sensuelle was my signature scent 15 years ago when I was in my mid twenties. Out of curiosity I recently purchased this scent to bring me back to when I was single living in my little studio apartment. I used to binge watch my Sex and the City DVDs while eating French bread pizza with boxed red wine. Those were the good old days!

I expected to love this fragrance again, but to my shock I now cannot stand it! My perception of the fragrance must have changed. The patchouli in this is intensified by the pink pepper and lavender adds a menthol herbaceous kick. When I sprayed this on myself my eyes actually watered from the initial spicy blast.

Which is weird because I like spicy fragrances as Coco is my signature. This just isn’t me anymore. I know it’s a divine, complex, and confident scent but I just can’t anymore. Do not blind buy this!

Now on the other hand I love the original Allure EDP and I just purchased a full bottle. I wear Coco to work so I wanted something more casual to wear around the house and on weekends. It’s so interesting how our body chemistry and tastes change over time…

Lemxx

As a patchouli lover this is heaven for me! Such a warm and cuddly scent. When you sniff for the first time you’ll want to smell every chance you get! Definitely a Chanel perfume! It smells unique, it smells like power and success! Peach is so sexy in here, iris makes it powdery without making it old fashion and patchouli is so gorgeous!!! You should sniff this perfume in your life !

Sunkissed

Too woody and a bit dated for me, however extremely classy and will suit confident people. Makes me think of a boss woman, not necessarily a sexy person, but someone who exudes power. I didn't test it on skin though, so I want to give it a try again.

rimowll

to me, its the sexiest perfume i have ever had. woody & sexy... :)

singingsuzie17

My least favourite of Chanel's. Too heavy on the patchouli for me. I like Allure well enough but not this version. Sorry.

ryal

Every time I wear this, I come here to Fragrantica to put it in the "love" category, and then I realize I've already done that.
It is for sure one of my favorites from Chanel. It does smell similar enough to the original Allure so you know they are related, but different enough so you can have both.
Floral, spicy, warm and a little bit sweet on my skin. Such a perfect balance.

ayken

This fragrance is quite mature, well rounded, and easily wearable both at night time as well as day- signature scent. PAtchouli in it is quite prominent along with woody notes, initial reaction was fresh but now it has dried down to a more warm scent. 7/10

mreen

smells like pee and flowers on me. very flat and uninteresting. longevity is 30 mins tops.
bit disappointed on this one.

Advaitaforever

The spicier, more decisive and dominant sister of the original nice girl Allure.

Murmur123123

I remember testing Allure Sensuelle years ago and have always had it at the back of my mind "when I am mature enough for it". However, it is a slight disappointment now that I have tried it properly (against the background of my 100+ bottles of perfume collection). It is not a bad perfume at all, the initial 30 min or so I enjoyed the peppery citrusy and floral notes. However, when it dries down, it is pure sweet vanilla on my skin, and I do see the similarity to other vanilla heavy perfumes such as Sharlimar Souffle and other designer perfumes. It is a nice perfume, but not nice enough to warrant the Chanel price tag on it, in my opinion.

Bouquet Bleu

I tested the EDT first so my description is based on that. It is like EDT drydown (iris, rose and the base notes with some dried fruits with some powder) but straight away and denser, fuller. For summer it is unbearable unless it is a breezy glamorous night cocktail party (where it would be appropriate and sexy). I am enjoying more the edt because it evolves from citric-patch opening to to iris rose base. If you have one of them, the other is redundant because the drydown is the same thing but amplified in EDP.

ThatMakesScents

Just arrived today from Chanel. 2021

At first sniff basically a citrus floral mens cologne not far off from what you found in the 70's and 80's. The hint of fruit I smell adds a unique touch but otherwise I think some guys would really enjoy this. I don't find anything overtly feminine about this at all. Probably due to the patchouli.

My bottle is an EDP and so far on my wrist is doing fairly well performance wise. I have not tested this out fully yet but I was excited to get it. You really don't see this one around too often.

.....Stay Tuned for more edits.

Update 1:
Fruit note more prominent. Duration of scent does not last a full night. ZERO scent left on my pillow. Waiting to see when the cut off point is...maybe 3/4 hrs tops for everything....My HIGH is riding a new LOW for the moment.....stay tuned.

Update 2 CONCLUSION:

This fragrance is BULLSHIT. Went on a one hour walk 5 sprays to my body then a 100% cotton shirt over it...after 30 minutes fragrance on both body and shirt >>>> GONE. My shirt should be REEKING of this right now. NADA.

For 15 minutes it smells lovely. A line of cocaine lasts longer than this.

Fuck Chanel. I am returning this and 3 other fragrances. Let them deal with the loss not me.

iammayih

This was a blind buy and I was attracted by the name. I thought it would be just like my idea of what a sexy perfume should be but I was wrong. It smelled straight out pepper from the box and from the initial spray. It takes a really long time for the scent to tone down so that you can smell the middle notes which is the best part for me. Once you reach that part, the scent is gorgeous. Not sexy but gorgeous. It's smells like something that I would be wearing when I reach my 40s and I would attending PTA meetings for my future kids. I don't like the pink pepper. Maybe, I have to let Allure Sensuelle grow on me with the pink pepper part.

It's just okay for now. Not a like or love yet. We'll see.

By the way, this perfume stays forever on your skin and even more on clothes and hair! Be careful with how much you spray too coz it can be very overpowering especially on the initial spray!

EDIT: It was so hot and humid today in here where I live and I bravely sprayed this on... it’s beautiful! The pepper immediately faded and the gorgeous florals took over! I think my sweaty body agreed to it so much more than when I was in a cold room. This is definitely a summer fragrance! 😍

EDIT 2022: I LOVE THIS SCENT SO MUCH! ONE OF MY FAVORITE NOW! 😍

louiee

Warm and sensual.
Has a slightly resemblance to chance edp. But allure sensuelle edp is more mature deep and complex.

I mostly get patchouli, peach, mandarin and some pink pepper. The dry down is spicy, ambery and dries fruits. I also get rose, iris and woody notes.

The scent is to me feminine, classy and has an expensive mystic sphere around it. It´s so much a chanel fragrance.

This is a big love for me, though I tend to wear it seldom.

Moderate silage and longevity

Thank God I didn't blind buy the EDP edition after the seduction and emotions the discontinued 'pure perfume' of Allure Sensuelle gave me. I ran to test the editions are still available (EDP&EDT) with the expectation I will find the EDP being just a bit softer. Not only it's a step backward from pure parfum/pure perfume/extrait de parfum call it whatever you prefer, but that firework of an earthy patchouli fading slowly into the most rich bourbon vanilla in an oriental hug is missing. Just 4 notes can build such a rollercoaster of emotions but EDP is way more complex. I trust Chanel to the bone, from the few houses that respects their clients and deserves our loyalty. Here the vanilla is plain and the patchouli more 'dirty'. To add it to my collection or not?

jaguarundina

this perfume immediately deviates from 'Allure'. of course it would be strange if spices, dried fruit, patchouli, iris, lavender, labdanum and two whopping roses wouldn't do that. again the brilliant concoction, alchimical mingling of the variousest of notes makes also 'Allure Sensuelle' a spectral perfume, which I saw to my pleasure documented in the photos depicting the perfume. there it is stated that the perfume unites the qualities: [intemporelle], boisée, oriental, fruité, frais and SOLAIRE. this has all been reached in my opinion. it is however lacking somewhat in the aspect of 'FLEURI'. I do smell roses and jasmine. those are not easy to neglect. it is again the mixing and maceration of all which veils somewhat the singular notes. this was also the goal of Allure in the first place. patchouli (my straight twinbrothers favorite) has a fatty, overtaking, herbal tone. it does add to this perfume. so I do like the perfume but to me 'Coco' will always be first. I am an incurable connaiseur of ultrastrong perfumes as Giorgio-Poison-Knowing-Oudh Infini-Montale Intense Black Aoudh-Gale Hayman Beverly Hills-Frédéric Malle Dominique Ropion Promise, Fleur de Cassie and Portrait of a Lady. yet this is the Chanel equivalent of such perfume. so it has indeed a timeless Allure and mystic Sophistication.

zgeco

Allure Sensuelle is Allure with patchouli opening. It is still Allure. The name represents the scent excellently; it is sultry Allure.

The original Allure is joyous and sunny. If I were to liken Allure edp to a wealthy, lovely, elegant young lady at her late 30s, Allure Sensuelle is the more mature at her 40s ( perhaps now wife, mother, being loved by a man or even a lover:). Allure is a lovely girl and Sensuelle is a lovely woman, but they are the same person with the joyous, sunny character.

Joie de vivre Allure ou Allure Sensuelle:). Both of you are wonderful creatures. I am gonna burn some cash on you once I afford to do so.

samantham-123

After loving no5 on so many others for years, I bought it for myself and realised that it just didn't fit me; love the smell but it was a little like wearing a cocktail dress to clean my house..just didn't suit.
Coco never smelled very nice on me and so I just kind of wrote off the whole house as not being my style.
Yet, somehow I found myself standing in front of the somewhat intimidating Chanel shelf in David Jones yesterday, feeling just a little too bogan to be looking up at the sophisticated glass bottles and said to the sales girl " I'm trying to find "My" chanel"
I tried all of them. Coco mademouiselle was nothing more than a patch bomb on my skin. Chance..Well I'm just not that elegant.
Coco noir; I actually did quite like, but didn't love. Allure edp..to much peach. Allure edt..boring. No 19, no thank you. Gabrielle was nice but I have many much more interesting florals at home.
Much like wedding dress shopping, they were all nice but none were " The one".
I thought all hope was lost until I picked up Allure sensuelle, the golden liquid sparkling under the light, even the bottle seemed slightly warmer than the rest; almost as if it was calling me.

I sprayed her on my wrist and my nose went to olfactory heaven.
Spicy, slightly sweet, grown up and feminine but lacking that typical chanel austerity that I find way to serious for my style and taste.
A few minutes after the warm oriental opening I get a whiff of what reminds me of raspberry flavoured lollies, it's red berry but not a synthetic sugar sweet berry.
It soon turns warm and aromatic, but that dark red sweetness always lingers. It makes me think of burgundy silk.
It has no age limits this one, it's grown up yes, but because it has a slightly more...relaxed? Feel about it, I do think it would fit any woman of any age, in any setting.

This won't be a night out scent, more of a nice out for the day fragrance. Longevity is about as good as it gets with any chanel edp these days. It's not bad; about 4 to 6 hours, with the last 2 being more of a skin scent.
I was planning on going home and ordering a 30ml bottle online since they didn't have any in store. But after a momentary complete lapse of self control, I walked out wondering what the hell just happened, with my bank account wincing in agony.

And now a 50ml bottle of the edp is sitting smugly on my dresser

Elsee

At first I did not like this and was disappointed.

Fast forward a few years - I took it out again yesterday as we ALL have time now to check out our perfume goodies that we have stashed away. (thanks to COVID)

Needless to say -- the only way to wear this and truly appreciate and enjoy its beauty is to spray and walk thru.
It's 100% different than if you dab it on or spray it close.

Not sure I have every experienced such a contrast with a perfume based on the application technique. But...it's true!

Try it again and see what you think. It's near perfect.

Happy sniffing! OH -- and take the mask off first. ;)

I wore this one for years and recently repurchased it to find it greatly diluted and watered down . Basically I could not smell it at all after two hours . A dear friend purchased at the same time and was so disgusted with it that she sold her bottle. Sorry , but it is NOT nice to ask the price of $175 for a quickly disappearing perfume. Seeing my friend felt as ripped off as I did with this perfume, I advise consumers to beware . I hope management at this house improves , but I am swearing off Chanel house for now.

I also wore Coco and Allure for about 18 years and will no longer purchase them even though the originals were magnificent creations. I find the Chanel House to be a total disappointment with the perfumes I wore for so many years .

If you did once love the balsamic vanilla Sensuelle as I did , give Shalimar Soufflé Intense A try for a fraction of the price . It has satisfied my craving for A . S. . For less than $ 50 a bottle and it LASTS ALL DAY and is a gorgeous cobalt blue bottle . I do not find it similar to Shalimar at all , but it really reminds me of Allure Sensuelle when it was a powerhouse perfume .

CarmenTudor

This doesn't smell like the original Allure at all. This one smells mature, old school. Headache inducer. Not for me.

BoutiqueLove

This is definitely a unisex perfume. Do not blind buy. I wouldn’t have named it Sensuelle, rather intense eau fraiche.
It has a sharp, patchouli heavy citrus masculine note which is at the forefront . A faint vanilla cream cranberry is present in the distance. This smells like synthetic lime/lemon juice poured on cheap vanilla ice cream.
Very strong and long lasting but over bearing. Sadly I am not a fan

NDL

This is absolutely gorgeous. The name is very fitting for this perfume, it is indeed very sensual. My first encounter was with the sensuelle Edt which did not work for me at all. It was too masculine smelling for me. This edp is so much more feminine, creamier, refined, floral, sweet and oriental. It is softer than the edt, but not weak by any means. It has the DNA of the OG allure, which I absolutely adore. I will enjoy wearing this come winter. Kind of wish I went with the 100mL now!

Asikka

Patchouli is the queen in Sensuelle EDP. Not harsh, loud, but subtle, delicate, and very elegant, from the very beginning to the very end. It's sweetened with vanilla, but OMG what kind of vanilla is it! Dry, powdery, not gourmandish at all. It's dusty and just perfect. Usually, I stay away from this note, but in the whole Allure line, it's just perfect. Sensuelle EDP is sweet - but in a very, very elegant and mature way. It doesn't scream with the sweetness of fruits and gourmand vanilla.
I would say that patch and vanilla are the main notes here, and they are perfectly blended. While the classic Allure EDP is soft and mellow, Sensuelle EDP has more character, and it fits me better.
I wouldn't say this is a business fragrance. I read that it's cold and distancing. Not at all for me. It's sexy, sparkling, and self-confident. Both for day and night. You just need to like it and feel it, then it's gonna fit you on every occasion and will compliment your character and charisma.
I tried it in my twenties and I didn't like it. Now I'm 35 (but still feel like 27 :) ) and finally I can understand and appreciate this scent.
Long-lasting and noticeable.
Note that testers in Sephora I tried were off and gave me a lot of hairspray feel. The perfume I bought is totally different! So don't judge only on old testers that stay under the hot bulbs for ages.

JillValentine

The opening is too citrusy, I don’t get any spice! But once it’s dried down, that’s where the magic happens - it becomes so addicting. So this is one of the perfumes I wouldn’t overspray or won’t re-spray during the day just because I enjoy the dry down so much.

boutlagh

for the ones who are looking for a dupe of this perfume, I just went recently to Swiss Arabian; an Emirati house of perfume (I guess!) to test some of their products. I was surprised when I discovered a dupe for Allure Sensuelle there! the perfume is called Inara انارة and it comes in a flat round bottle with a pink cap. I was lucky too as there was a discount on many perfumes including this one. As I'm using it the quality (projection and longevity) seem good as well.

raiza1990

Has an old school vibe at the opening, but it is a pleasant and elegant fragrance. It’s a bit sweet, a bit powdery. It’s soft and classy. Good for many different occasions. The only problem is poor longevity.
Try it if you want to smell expensive and chic.
Final note: 7/10

UnearthlyApothecary

I love this! Slightly sweet and spicy/fresh patchouli scent, this is a great example of a modern oriental/spice scent: fresh and zingy not heavy, dark and musty like the oriental scents of the past. reminds me of Diesel Fuel For Life Femme which I think I just may slightly prefer because I love the nutmeg. I have a partial bottle of this that I got from my best friend and I’m going to wear it a ton this summer because it’s hard to find spicy scents that you can wear in the Arizona heat, when it’s gone I’ll probably just pick up another bottle of F.F.L though because I ever so slightly prefer that one (that nutmeg!) and it’s dirt cheap

parnpipit

AS opens with very strong spices notes, the pungent pink pepper and mentholated patchouli. Almost reminds me of YSL 2014 Opium edp. So If you don't like spice scent you better stay away from it. This stage stays for quite some times and then it morphs into a little sweet violet with some tiny bit of vanilla and sandalwood. Yes, there's violet in here even though it's not listed. Not easy to like but great creation for sure.

indigo

I think AS is a love or hate perfume & you have to really love pink pepper. To my nose it is overwhelming sickly sweet candied tutti fruity paired with masses of pink pepper. I can’t really smell anything much else from beginning to dry down, & the combination of those 2 makes me feel really queasy & on edge. I was surprised at how much I really disliked this one, especially because I love patchouli. To my senses AS shouts loud but never has anything very nice or interesting to say. I find it overbearing. It just feels very unbalanced imho, but as ever ymmv. My friend had a bottle (as a gift) & she told me she actually got asked to stop wearing it by her family members. Maybe it’s a “skin chemistry” thing...I don’t know, but I don’t think this is a great perfume at all.
Deep down I can’t help feeling that Chanel released this to cash in on the “fruitchouli” trend. At the end of the day it’s a sweet fruitchouli (emphasis on sweet & fruit) with a massive whack of pink pepper...cus everyone just loves fruitchoulis & pink pepper, don’t they? Well, at the end of the day my dislike of AS is just another opinion, & that’s all it is.

Silvuna

I love the original Allure edp and this is its spicier version so I love this one also, it's good to have both to change :-).

kbm1208

Old lady smelling. But a classy, all knowing, always regal old lady, for sure. I still love this perfume. And recognize it for its powerhouse fragrance and stellar lasting power.

charcolatebar

I’ve been having a thorough perfume clean-out, and after umming and ahring I finally sold my bottle of Allure Sensuelle on eBay today for a frankly excessively low price. I’m now experiencing major fragrance regret!

I bought my large bottle off my cousin when she changed her signature to Coco Mademoiselle (not a good decision, imo!). I started off loving Allure Sensuelle’s retro, powdery-violet-makeup heft and used it liberally whenever I wanted to feel chic.

Come the warmer weather and I found it much too sweet and heavy, buttoned up and oddly stuffy; with increasing forays into contemporary niche houses, I decided AS was too old-fashioned and not for me. This didn’t change with occasional outings over the next year.

However, on cooler days over the past month I’ve been drawn to this fragrance once again. The juicy sweetness of peach accompanied by a whisper of amber, pepper and patchouli bring a cosier, more relaxed vibe than I remembered. This is truly a chameleon fragrance. When the time is right, it’s incredibly luscious and satisfying and I imagine that one day I may need it back in my collection!

Balletflowers

My aunt who is very elegant, glamorous, stylish wore this when she visited from Canada about 13yrs ago. She was so generous that when my mom complimented her on her fragrance, she gifted her the entire large full bottle. My mom was addicted & finished the entire thing. I always associate this beautiful scent with my lovely aunt. Good memories.

As for the scent, it’s warm vanilla woody patchouli & I imagine someone confident & classy wearing it. More like an evening, special occasion scent. Projection & lasting power are amazing. Worth the splurge.

s.pellegrino

I truly love this. Comes as close to a signature scent as anything for me. Unlike some other reviewers here, I find this so wearable - all seasons, all times of day, all occassions; I just increase/decrease my sprays according to needs. I love the power of the opening, the blast of the pepper, and the soft but spicy drydown. Makes me feel sexy yet comfortable, mysterious yet approachable. A warm and enveloping cloud, it is versatile and it lasts. Allure Sensuelle still really excites me after more than a year - I look forward to making more and more memories with this.

cranky137

Too much pepper and patchouli for my taste. Gives me a decent migraine for the next 12 hours… such a shame since I love the original Allure...

carmen.toro

I love Chanel's Allure. I thought Allure Sensuelle was going to be something similar, but sexier, because of its name. Well, what a fiasco. I could not stand this perfume. It was so old lady's smell, so intrusive, so sweet...I gave it away. I still love Allure, but Allure Sensuelle is not my thing.

RaggedyAnne

This is my favourite Chanel Perfume, it is the only Chanel apart from Coco that has any lasting power....it smells very beautiful, romantic somehow. It's woody/oriental, and that is something I love on me. Allure Sensuelle lasts forever on my skin, but you just watch Chanel change that in the next round of reformulations.....they can't have customers being satisfied with their perfumes and only buying a bottle once a year when they can water it down and have them buy 3 bottles a year.....which they've done to ever other Chanel I have owned and loved. The Coco I own is an old part-used bottle bought off ebay.....and lasting power is amazing.

Nataliemarie

I've had this for years, & simply ADORE it! GREAT perfume!! One of my HG's.

novarenata

This fragrance is strong, sharp, dominant and loud -- like a prominent power suit worn by a bold business woman. There's nothing delicate about this fragrance, hence, why I don't wear it as often as I'd like. It starts off warm and spicy, but dries down to a mellow powdery sweet scent, which is quite beautiful. It's a very lasting fragrance that would stick to your clothes even after washing, so spritz with a light hand.

Pinpin

I just wanted to love this but it was just toooo strong, for me it’s the headache type of smell. I’m more floral and tend to use lighter perfumes so when I sprayed this I over did it and oh my I did get comments but not particularly compliments I felt uncomfortable in my surroundings like I was poisoning everyone around me. It’s a classic Chanel you either love or hate. I’m more Chanel chance not Allure. My dads signature is the Chanel Allure Homme it was my mother’s first gift to him while dating and he used it on his wedding day apparently so maybe that’s why I wanted to love it so much but I found when ever I ran out of perfume I would use this one spray for the sake of anything is better than nothing but I ended up giving it away because it’s chanel and deserves more respect. Saying that I do miss it sometimes. I think maybe it’s for darker skin type I imagine Arabian nights type for some reason.

Happiness_in_a_Bottle

I can't wear it. My skin does not get on with Allure Sensuelle. It is sharp. screechy, aggressive - all features that I dislike in a perfume. Of course, that does not mean it is a bad fragrance. Maybe it is so complex that my nose can't bear it. :)

Maybe my taste will shift and after some time I will be more inclined to wear it.

Definitely for fall and winter and, IMO, for a night out or formal events. I believe it would go very well with formal attire, elegant dresses, high heels.

Carah

This is just horrible, something sharp for 15 minutes, like bergamot and some bitter herb, probably lavender, and then nothing. Never got any comments on this perfume, let alone complements, because nobody can smell it, it's just not there. Waste of money

Jmalone84

Agree with below. Used to adore this fragrance but I wish it had more of that delicious bourbon vanilla and sandalwood like it used to.

jenniferg0924

You have to be a lover of patchouli to love this scent.

I love pink pepper and spices in fragrances so I do like this scent. However, the patchouli is so strong which keeps me from loving it.

Chanel is one my favorite fragrance houses and I have to be honest and say I was a bit disappointed with this one. If they wouldn’t have put so much patchouli it would literally be a perfect scent.

To my nose it is patchouli, spices and pink pepper with a TINY hint of vanilla..
I also have to say that I like the dry down more than the opening. In the dry down the patchouli does tone down a bit and the vanilla comes out a bit more even though it is very settle.

This scent is very unique with heavy sillage and longevity!

Scent: 6/10
Longevity: 9/10
Sillage: 9/10

allumez

It's so similar to Shalimar Souffle that I almost regret I spent the money. The only difference imo is that the Chanel lasts forever on you, like about a week :) u really need to love this as it's hard to wash it off your skin or hair.
Careful, it's the ultimate office 'unfriendly' kind of fragrance.
Works great for evening occasions in open spaces or just a puff on your neck wearing a cashmere scarf.

Atreyu_Crimmins

This is a difficult one for me. The first spray has that classic Chanel effervescence that smells gorgeous and expensive. But unfortunately it quickly gives way to a strong menthol patchouli that almost ruins it for me.

After 15 minutes it softens, warms up, and gives a beautiful aromatic glow. This is where Sensuelle blossoms and comes into its own, with a creamy bourbon vanilla spice and musky smoke. Twenty minutes in and I love it. But those first 15 minutes are tough.

EDIT: I ended up swapping mine. Couldn't cope with the patch bomb.

giuseppe98gp83

Allure sensuelle means sensual look. Well, I would say the perfect name. It starts with a peppery and spicy explosion that invites someone to look at you. The central phase with the particularity of the dried fruits invites the observer to touch, to be curious, to do what is forbidden. The final phase is that of the desire that never goes out and that continues to be fulfilled, exactly like an endless fire. This phase is the phase of sweetness, a spicy sweetness dictated by a divine vanilla and a rather pure patchouli. Ah, I forgot, have you ever noticed that where there are feminine scents with peach and vanilla, is there always talk of sensuality? at least in my nose these are two beautiful elements. For now This, Midnight Poison, D & G The One, and the stunning Euphoria of Ck are sensual magnets turned into perfumes. Well done Chanel!

piccolo3001

I have this perfume but I am not crazy about it. It lasts forever on the skin. If you want to swsp/buy please message me.

LadyIva

This is one of the few mainstream Chanel releases that I cannot wear. Don't get me wrong, the scent is very beautiful and, yes, on the right skin it is indeed alluring and sensual. Unfortunately, my skin regularly amplifies the fruity notes and suppresses the rest; hence, instead of patchouli and rose, all I can smell is a mix of obnoxious sweet fruity notes - peach, apricot, mandarin orange, red berries and whatnot, paired with a very sweet vanilla in the drydown. I don't know why this happens, but it's the reason why I have to stay away from all fragrances with prominent sweet fruity notes.

Contessa01

I used to have a bottle of this and decided to swap it out. I hadn't seen it in stock where I live for so long that I wondered if it was discontinued. My reason a few years ago for swapping it was that I was more picky to be honest about the perfumes I kept and the ones I didn't. Unless I loved it I wouldn't keep it. But I found myself often wearing fragrances I 'like' over ones that I may 'love' for different reasons such as the environment I am in or how it will be around others and how generally pleasing it is. For example, although from a different brand I have been thinking how I almost never wear thierry mugler's Aura because it is so intense it fills up the whole house let alone wearing it and sitting near people. I do wear moderate perfumes though, depending on where I am. Allure Sensuelle edp is a great example of a perfume that isn't light and too safe a la light blue or daisy, but is just that level above where people can smell you but it is not too much. I think for the office it's fine if not oversprayed. It's good quality as well and wearing a recognizable scent that has a little bit of impact I find to be also more easy to do. So I found myself remembering this one and how I prefer it to the original Allure edp and took the plunge and bought it, and am glad I have done so as it is really a nice fragrance. It is sweet and fresh with the Allure DNA. Allure edp doesn't suit my skin for some reason, though it is nice to have in my Chanel collection. What I really hope to get is the Allure Sensuelle edt as I never see it anywhere where I live so I will look online as much as I don't like buying Chanel online. Allure Sensuelle is in a nutshell a pretty, feminine, soft yet punchy fragrance which I think makes a pretty safe gift and according to the Chanel lady at my local counter, a frequently selected Chanel perfume by men for their wives or girlfriends :)

This is so incredibly sexy! Love it! Longevity is great on me too ~12+ hours, amazing! <3

Allure Sensuelle is my second favorite Chanel fragrance (next to Coromandel)! It has the best dry down in the history of forever! The opening kinda makes me a little dizzy at first; but I am training my nose to embrace its punch more and more. The headache-inducing note is slowly being accepted in my system (thank heavens!). I am currently wearing this these days so that the person I like can remember me with this smell, and, I, too, could associate our memories (in my class) with this fragrance.

This fragrance is a patchouli monster, so if you are not into that note, best be off, dearie. This isn't for you. But you if you like a patchouli which isn't so earthy, then this is your gem. I really find patchouli so dynamic in all fragrance categories. The patchouli here is well-blended with the dried fruits it promises. It reminds me a little of YSL Elle, but this is more sophisticated-smelling than that Midnight Poison dupe. The opening and heart notes scream so loud; but the dry down is really heavenly. The Chanel sweetness comes out, and even though it is a bit closer to the skin, I can still smell it from my neck and clothes every time a get a whiff of myself.

Again, the opening might be a big punch on your face upon spraying, but, take it from me, this Jacques Polge masterpiece develops into the most alluring and sensual fragrance ever, so the name suggests.

P.S: The EDT version of this has more pink pepper and is more suitable for daytime usage. However, the EDP is much more magical than the EDT. I have both bottles, and each of them has its own persona. Incomparable, distinctive, pure beauty.

Re-review. When I first had this it gave me rashes, I hated it and loved it at the same time.

Now, reusing it before deciding against giving it away, I have decided that I do rather enjoy this sweet patchouli and dry rose fragrance.

I've used over half of the 35mL bottle and it's served me quite well. Far from my favourite Chanel, but it's much more 'me' than the original Allure and ANY of the Homme line, save Egoiste and Antaeus.

Midnight Lady

To me after spraying it it smelled just like someone mentioned - very old ladyish. It got better after a dry down - I can get vanilla, minty bits from patchouli as well as powdery notes and hints of pink pepper. But the vetiver doesn't work very well with other notes here.

I simply don't understand the hype about this. It wouldn't be my choice as it smells synthetic and agressive all together for me.

To me 1/10.

the_new_esta

They compete well, but Chanel will never make the best of any scent category. Allure Sensuelle is woodsy, resinous and classifies as 'sensual'. Really though, not many people like this on me. It's not sexy to them, just overpowering. And with a lighter spray... simply a little masculine.
Buy any of these instead:

It's really alluring

PerfuMEOW

This one is just a little too much for me, I found it hard to breathe while wearing it.

RosalieRosalie

Is this discontinued??

Arlene-Beatrix

Deeply oriental, woody, very balsamic. Not bad, but it is not my fav type of a fragrance. Too warm for me.

Velvetice

This scent is a halfway house. Nothing to cry home about but not a terrible scent either. If you are into street level ng on your face scents, then this is not it. Its delicate, sexy, sensual and almost a non existent but present smell. All the right ingredients are there. Its warm spicy, scent of vanilla, patchouli, a little amber for me and all things delicious. Now, take note as this was a blind buy for me. I am almost screamed my house down when the scent dissappeared from my arm within minutes, but then sprayed it on my jacket and 24hrs later it is still there. This was a definite good reminder that not all perfumes are great on skin, some are better on clothes and vice versa. That'a just the way it is. This is worth a pruchase on the days you feels ng like treating yourself. More like a "add to the collection" not a must have! Take the risk. It's definitely a bedroom scent ladies. He/She will be sniffing you all night!

frangiris

As a first step towards my new goal of trying out all Chanel women's fragrances, I sprayed this on in the department store, around 8 hours ago. Not a lot of sillage, but still clearly present.

There is definitely some overlap between this and Coco Mademoiselle (my only other Chanel encounter so far). I love this perfume! It smells expensive, spicy, interesting and sophisticated. It smells less pink and creamy than Coco Mademoiselle.

Where Coco Mademoiselle is the 20-24 year old pretty young woman, strong but lovely at the same time and above all kind to everyone, I would say Allure Sensuelle better suits the same woman when she reaches her mid-twenties, is making progress in her career and is taking her own steps in the world with modesty, charm and confidence.

I am now really curious how the other Chanel fragrances are going to be. For this one, I would say, if money did not play a role I would definitely get it!

Rosepowdery

Love the scent, love the bottle but miss twist and spray version. It would be beautiful if it was designed in the purple colour of the cap.

redskyatnight

Allure Sensuelle nears the midpoint of Coco and Allure. The spices are reminiscent of Coco's characteristic clove, which is not like real clove but a thing unto itself. It's undeniably Chanel. Add some earthy florals and a mysterious vanilla, and you have Allure Sensuelle. The vanilla keeps it grounded, keeps it from flying in your face. It's one of the last complex fragrances produced in the 21st century; by that I mean it has a long, carefully crafted list of notes working in harmony, as well as a certain 90s sophistication about it. I'm afraid it came out too late to achieve huge success, but I still appreciate what a great piece it is and am happy to add it to my curated collection. And what a beautiful bottle! I prefer the classic Chanel apothecary bottles, but I make exception for this luxe, chic gold-and-purple bottle. Longevity and sillage of the fragrance are quite good, too.

mapache

I will put this review short and sweet....I love this!
It ticks all my notes/fragrance boxes. I have the EDP...not sure of ther year...yet...but I have a feeling it is a newer version...the bottle is the same as shown above. I love the bergamot/labdaum/lavender combo..it adds earthiness. Balsamic...yes...the patchouli does not overwhelm on me. A certain freshness in the opening is also great. It projects very well also. Also carries a slight unisex vibe too. Cheers to Chanel once again !!
Fab/amazing scent !!

cocolover56

I have some things to say about this one sadly, and what a sad thing it is for me.

First off, most importantly, it gave me a BAD rash. This never happens for scents with me. I was badly infected for a few weeks. It was a 2009 batch, so that's on me I guess.

Secondly, the longevity is POOR. Lasts less than an hour for me. Sad, because the scent isn't all that bad. Not worth buying more than a 35mL bottle for a discount, but still... good.

Starts of balsamic, quite alluring yes and strong in that patchouli affair. Lovelyish.

Classy, very Chanel... just flat. and bad for my skin.
3/10 for me

andrat

I liked it when I tried it in the store and it sounded good on paper so I bought it, but boy do I regret this purchase!
It develops very badly on my skin, I can't even describe the way it smells when the middle notes settle down. I wore it to the office once and people were opening the windows, asking where that bad smell was coming from... I was so embarrassed I never wore it again. Sephora in my country doesn't accept returns and I paid a lot of money on it so my heart won't let me trow it away, therefore it is now just collecting dust on a shelf.

nathalie87

This scent is wonderful. Creamy, luxurious and sensual. But one thing I cant understand is why people say that it is strong and has a huge sillage?! No.. I have used this perfume as a summer scent and on my skin at least, it is so round and creamy that it almost just feels like a creamy and luxurious body lotion scent. Very nice and comforting. It melts into my skin and is never ever sharp, not even when I first apply it. Very good signature scent that is a little bit mysterious, comforting, warm, clean, just a hint of spice and wood, and you wont smell it on every other women, like coco mademoiselle.

Edemay

This is one of the most powerful and intense scents to me.
The notes most apparent to me are patchouli, vetiver, pink pepper with some hints of fruit and jasmine.
The intensity of these notes create an almost menthol/acidic smell and it really is so entrancing and alluring. And at first spray it is very confronting.
When I first bought this i applied three large sprays to myself, big mistake!
One spray is enough and every time i wear this I get compliments
"Wow that is such a beautiful perfume" "That perfume smells very classy"
I have grown to love it and enjoy wearing it on special occasions, definitely not an everyday scent.

wenna41

Sadly this "queen"is now only a sad, paler and tamed version of her former glorious, audacious and nuclear sillage-producing self. The density and richness, with the undercurrent of woods and spiced florals does not resemble who she currently became. This used to be the reason I skipped my biased and prejudiced opinion about flankers. This was one of the first fragrances I believed to be superior to her original...she was strong, poised, provocative, refined and intoxicating...people would know when you're around...the drama, the mystique and suspense...oh! she used to be magical, bitchy, hardcore, classy, bossy...Now she's uhmmmmm.....shame Chanel, I mean, really now! She smells the same but her soul has been sold....there are these missing links which were previously sumptuous...like an orchestra...in harmony with each other, you could not single out one single note because it blended so flawlessly. There is a thinness about her now which replaced the fullness...her fire is now merely a fleeting candle light which gets blown out by the lightest breeze...I'm really sad, I've lost my "armor", which makes me feel vulnerable and defenseless...like when you're not fully dressed, that feeling when you're halfway through the door but feel you've left "something"behind but you can't pinpoint "what' axactly. ...But my addiction for this fragrance keeps me coming back to her..even if she only makes me feel half the invincible and conquering inner seducer she used to..there's nothing else that smells like her, maybe that's why, maybe because only few men wear her...whatever, I don't care...she's one of a kind, she's mine, she's "me", I become "her", her gaze, her strength and her "rawness"wrapped in sheer refinement and class!

Rosepowdery

This is my strength scent. I feel self-esteemed and powerful. That´s the best thing about scents. They play with the emotions.

Perfumedsecrets

This is a little different than I remember it smelling in 2005. It's somewhat like Coco, which I bought for my mom last year, only this is stronger. This comes on a lot more intense at first and it's incredibly long lasting. I do still love it, I just think they tweaked the formula a bit when they brought it back. I hate that Chanel has had to change their formulas in recent years. They do a good job, but our sense of smell is so connected to memories that it can feel like something is missing.

ScarlettX

A strong and classic type of scent.
Reminds me a lot of other Chanel's fragrances, but it's quite masculine. It could easily be a men's cologne.
Spicy notes are very dominant, I can also sense lots of patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver.
This perfume is classy and elegant, it totally makes a statement, but there are one's that I like more.

Madrona

Blergh! Somehow I managed to get some of my sample in my mouth, not sure how that happened. It doesn't taste good.

Smell-wise, however, this is the closest thing I have been able to find to Hugo Boss Intense, and a look at the most upvoted notes will show a striking resemblance. Certainly not a dupe, but somewhat close - enough that I could see the resemblance spontaneously. This one is noticeably fruitier, though, the peach is strong on my skin. It's like a mix between D&G The One and Hugo Boss Intense, really. This one is softer as well, nothing unisex about it - it's all soft, warm, sensual femininity. I miss the unisexy edge, but still, love it.

knotslandinggirl

Allure sensuelle,my only chanel in my collection of fragrances I love.

It is warm,balsamic,slightly spicy,floral,and vanilla.
Longevity is a good 8 hours and sillage is beyond arm length, she will captivate people around you.Men love her!

It is a masterpiece in my eyes, and for me It has that one of chanel fragrances on the sideline, while coco mademoiselle takes centre stage.

However although coco mademoiselle may take centre stage, allure sensuelle steals the show for me,and deserves an encore.

Let us not forget her.....

PLUMPIE

super potent and super sickly on my skin it is a burnt patchouli cucumber strawberry jam balsamic vinegar concotion on me and actually nauseates me. I like allure but this is a completely different gourmandish scent to the original

neaga.alina

Imagine a cold day. You are wearing a big and warm scarf, a coat and...Chanel Allure Sensuelle. This perfume is like a cozy sweater in winter...but you are still sexy. This is a perfume for a woman that knows who is she and what she wants. Is not a girly fruity juice, it is not a bunch of flowers all over you. It is a little bit more mature, a perfume for a confident woman. You can wear just a pair of jeans, a tiny bit of makeup and this perfume...and you will feel youself a true woman. It is spicy...a little bit playfull...your presence will be noticed for sure!!!

Alegria sensual. Um dos melhores de Chanel.

polly golightly

highonperfume

smells a little like nail polish and i love how nail polish smells

Kon-nos91

WTH, it's just Chanel. I always wanted to test it seriously but how I couldn't love a creation named sensuelle from the house of CC? It's like it first picked me and enchanted me.

Straight to the review because I don't want to 'eat' your precious time but if you have a look on my profile, you'll notice that sometimes perfumes inspire me to write mini essays haha. A teacher, a make-up artist, a boss and responsible-type of profession could rock it.

First smell was and it is not a pleasant one. Middle part of the perfume it's just a bit generic, spicy and light patchouli. Then the magic comes. Trust me, it's so hard to explain you how it really smells and what senses it awakes. It's like I am breathing something 'watery' that quench my thirst. I know it sounds a bit too much but it's so nicely made. I really can't detect which tone or combination of tone gives this result.

It's tones are like an explosion of fresh fruits, creamy combination of vanilla + sandalwood, it's spicy character softens with the time by leaving a light touch of pink pepper making it more 'fresh', for sure I can detect it's floral part, I hate floral perfumes but this one is just amazing, hmm iris. About it's base, it's kind of mute and classic. All in all, for what I am sure? Sensuelle is a naughtier, riskier but a true lady sister of the original Allure. A formal perfume that is just bright, expensive, burgundy, moral, passionate and Chanel. Like!

Kaseb

I love this perfume so much. The top notes are not that pleasant to me, and the first time I tried the perfume I actually made a face. But then the scent became something heavenly, I have never smelled something so pleasant ever before. I have no idea what the exact ingredient is, but it makes me feel like I can do anything and my husband really loves it on me too.

It's a complicated scent, and its not easily likeable. I use it in colder days.

freddinos

This was previously categorised by Fragrantica as floral woody musk which I think is more correct than oriental floral. Quite different to Allure and a perfume of its own, I found it had an admittedly smooth cashmere like base that to my nose was quite artificial and a tad headache inducing. Quite strong and expensive smelling regardless.

arxsyn

My bottle of the of the toilette version is only half used. I stopped wearing it because as my everyday signature fragrance it started to smell very synthetic. Then I experimented with layering a cheap Jasmin floral perfume with it. This perfume is by the way “made in the UAE by SAP Industries”. It made the perfume more creamy floral. Everything seemed more heightened in a gourmand way with the “candied fruit“ component of Sensuelle. My mouth started watering! This had never happened before with this particular perfume bringing a new appreciation for it. Like a very sweet, spiced, zesty, orange creamsical. If that makes any sense.

The difference between the EdT and EDP is that the floralcy.

The toilette is a sharp, dry, spiced woody-patchouli amber fragrance with only the slightest hint of rose and Jasmine. Could very well work on a man.

The best version of the two is undoubtedly the EDP, with an expensive and gorgeous aldehydic bouquet laid over top—a veritable female centric floral oriental perfume.

The base is super comforting and warm. I am almost certain it contains a lot is synthetic cashmeran, sometimes marketed as “cashmere wood”. It's said to feel like being wrapped in a cashmere garment and I do feel that way with this. This must be the secret to cozy sensuality of this perfume (sensual note)! The sharp woody sandalwood and patchouli really brings out the dark leathery quality of the labdanum. And The plush vanilla is beautiful as ever.

beautifulchaos

Based on reviews, I purchased a small (but expensive) bottle of Allure Sensuelle as a blind buy. Like all Chanel fragrances this one is extremely potent. A single spray is not skimpy on the juice and, personally, I think more than one spray is overkill. I have only had the opportunity to try it during fairly warm months, which may have something to do with projection. I don't typically define my perfumes by seasons but this one is definitely for cooler weather wear. Not only is it a spicy oriental, it's also very strong (I reiterate again). I have mixed feelings on Allure Sensuelle. I like it but I'm not in love with it. During fall or winter it might be possible to wear this any time of day. However, the notes and potency of the formula make me think evening wear or special occasion.

The opening is a spicy blend of sweet pepper and sandalwood. Some people may be put off by the initial spray due to the amount of pepper and spice present. But it does dry down somewhat. There is a floral background to this scent but it's difficult to make out specifics. The pungent aroma of oakmoss mixed with sandalwood and amber overpower most of the other notes on my skin. At one point I may have caught a whiff of vanilla and rose. There's no fruit for me at all. As someone else described it... pencil shavings. I can see where that notion came from because this is an extremely woody fragrance. Woody, spicy, peppery, powdery.

Longevity is forever. Allure Sensuelle is an all-day kind of fragrance. Sillage is enormous. The scent practically lingers like a trail. Be careful with application. There is absolutely no need to reapply (for the sake and sanity of people around you). It's a nice smelling perfume, in moderation. It's also possible to get tired of smelling it like I do sometimes. It's just so strong and never really weakens, even after hours of wear. Perfume-sensitive people should probably avoid for that reason. Chanel could have done a better job with the bottle too. A little too plain for my liking (and the price), but the scent is far from simple.

AveParfum

I can't believe I have not reviewed this! I guess it's because I bought a 2014 bottle when I was pregnant. While it smelled like pencil shavings, massive amounts of pepper, and some sort of sickly fruit, I figured I was pregnant and hoped the problem was that my nose was off, not the perfume.

Fast-forward 2016, this stuff is abominable! Smells just like it did when I bought it. It smells like the ghost of a perfume mixed with a chemical soup. Same as before--pencil shavings, massive pepper, and sickly, no, ghastly, fake fruit. WTH was Chanel thinking?

And BTW it is NOT only in America that you can return perfume! CHANEL.com will accept returns. You have already been warned about this monstrocity, but if you insist on purchasing a new bottle anyway, pls buy from CHANEL.com so that when you discover all these reviews about the reformulation were on point, you can return it directly to them and tell them just how vile it is. They need to hear it.

lilah_rouge

It is a warm and spicey perfume, very elegant and nice.
I really do like it, even if sometimes it feels a bit heavier than I am comfortable with.
In the first minutes I dislike it, it is even a bit masculine, but then it turns into a very womanly smell.
The notes are perfectly blended, I cannot really identify them apart from the rich vanilla undertone.
Lasts long and it is better for the cold weather but can comfort you also in the not so hot summer days.

IndigoEye

I wore this as a teen when it came out as I love woody, spicy, floral scents. I only wore one bottle though (moved on to Nu, YSL, if anyone is wondering). I have tried this again a few times recently and I now find this quite cloying.

It starts out with a real punch of spice, sweetness and woody coziness - lovely. Then, about an hour later I thought it had disappeared. However, it made a come-back in the drydown and I continued to pick it up 8 hours later. The drydown has something relentless about it, and not in a good way. It seems to be a woody, ambery (synthetic) base that just drones on in the background like a car alarm going off several streets away. Whilst this kind of oriental base is my comfort zone, here it says nothing interesting and ended up giving me a headache and/or turning my stomach on every test.

The top notes of this are great but the drydown is boring and loud. Has it changed since it came out? Have I? Either way, another one crossed off the list.

JackieM

I admire that I can't detect any distinct *sweet* notes in this, it makes it unique. I can definitely sense the spices in that kind of really autumnal way, but there's also that sharp potting soil type smell that dense but almost fresh too. That's my novice nose probably picking up on the patchouli. I think lol.

amcintyre87

Before you go any further...I'm a fan of this scent!

I'm normally highly sensitive to patchouli, however this is blended seamlessly and I can't detect any specific notes, just an aroma of perfectness.

It's incredibly classy, with a sensual backbone.

First spray is full of pepper and can be a little overwhelming, however I now find to be zesty and a great 'pick me up'.

From there it smells like a little black dress, with just a hint of something metallic giving it an aloof feel.

Once this stage subsides you're left with what reminds me of fleshy fruit, dripping with nectar. The fragrance isn't fruity as such, it just smells full, ripe, and completely seductive.

Get around it!

SolangeN

Jmalone84, thank you. This was one I was tempted to blind order from Chanel, because like most of the their supposedly higher quality frags it's not available to test in malls and department stores.

I had a feeling it would be a mistake after sniffing what they've done to Coco Mad (which I never really liked anyway), Coco, and a disappointing chemical bath blind buy of Rue Cambon.

Had been eyeing Coromandel and Sycomore, but I believe I'll wait to see what Fragrantica reviews say about those reformulations.

Disappointing on the allure sensuelle - I was really looking for a quality, dense patch. The hunt goes on...

MartinaG

I don't know what's wrong with my skin and/or the chemistry with this one, but it smells wrong for me. I add it to my wrists, and even a little touch smells like something rotten, though the perfume is fresh. The most unflattering perfume on my skin imo, though I love patchouli a lot. I wanted it to smell like patchouli and apricots, and it smells like a dead fish. Disappointing.

Peachysugarbuns

I found original Allure to be boring. Allure Sensuelle EDP is a bit more interesting. (This review is for the original formulation).

Allure Sensuelle EDP has the thick, soapy lather feeling of original Allure with added sweetness and spice - vanilla, peach, rose and patchouli stand out on my skin. There is a doughy smell present in the opening of Allure Sensuelle (I detect the same facet in YSL Manifesto) but it dissipates after 30 minutes. In the drydown, Allure Sensuelle EDP has a tinge of chemical-like sharpness threading throughout the composition, reminding me of pure acetone. I think it comes from the use of the patchouli and woods (all permutations of Angel give off the same chemical patchouli scent on me) clashing with other notes. Though I favor the notes used in this fragrance, it feels incredibly chaotic on my skin and doesn't quite translate into anything potent in my mind when I close my eyes and inhale.

(After each sentence in this next part add the line, "...at least on my skin" because Allure and Allure Sensuelle really do smell lovely on some people.)
All-in-all, Allure Sensuelle EDP feels blocky and heavy, and not in a sultry, impressive way, like the marketing was attempting to convey. There is nothing here; no personality. The Chanel fragrances that are geared towards appealing to the masses seem useless. They never seem to spark the imagination or evoke a feeling - not that that's necessary, but what is more pleasurable than a scent cultivating emotion, good or bad? The many permutations of Allure mark a low point in Chanel fragrances for me and I'll pass on all of 'em. Power to ya if you make them beautiful - I envy your skin.

Jmalone84

I know what you did Chanel.

This perfume has recently been reformulated (the batch code on mine indicates a 2015 production date)- and I honestly would NOT recommend buying this (at least not directly from Chanel). As recently as a year ago I was still able to test the old formula in a store so a lot of you won't have noticed yet. As you may know they discontinued the Eau de Toilette- I have an older bottle, which smells nearly exactly like the NEW bottle of Eau de Parfum I just bought.

So they have discontinued the EDT, and made the EDP lighter/fresh-spicier. It lasts maybe 2 hours and isn't at all beautiful like I remember it. It's a glorified bloody room spray which I wasted $180 on for a 50mL and that's ON SALE (am in New Zealand, and it's not like the US where you can just return things).

What makes me really angry is that this was my favourite scent ever, and Chanel like every other corporation has privileged cutting costs over quality, over perfumery, over their customers' satisfaction, and they thought we would be too stupid to notice. So now if you want a beautiful perfume you have to pay more and more for it- tbh if you want this your only option now is to buy the pure Parfum.

What ever happened to producing something beautiful for the sake of it? Why do they need to squeeze every last drop of profit out of everything so some greedy mogul can hoard his millions at the expense of everyone else?

Boooo.

victoria.mei1992

I get very strong vetiver note which I like a lot, kinda like in narciso rodriguez.

Southern Blonde

I wear Allure which is a fruity floral and while that one is a lovely fresh day time fragrance this is it's evening counterpart. This is somewhat similar to Coco Noir but it's ten times spicier and more seductive. This is a strong fragrance and the woman that wears this is making a statement. She's assertive, smart, but sexy and very confident. She gets anything she wants. The fragrance opens with citrus and then turns rosy. The rose here is a dark rose, it seems to be more of those incensed rose or spiced up roses. The dry fruits are very noticeable and they even smell like dates and prunes in an Indian market place or Persian market place. Definitely on the Oriental side. But the scent is not dry and in fact stays fresh and sweet because of that citric start and the flowery middle section. Toward the end all I get is vanilla but there's patchouli too and lots of it. It's aromatic and well done. I wear this out on dates. Always an attention grabber. I spritz this on my blouse and my shirt smells of it for two day straight even after I've put it in the wash. Gorgeous very sexy fragrance. I find it to be even better than Coco Noir.

Eugirlsniffs

Recently I got my hands on this. Finally. On me it opens exactly like Allure but after only a few minutes it develops into something more. The basis of Allure is still there but with more suede and warmth. It's simply awesome. I don't really get the 'sex in a bottle' thing, nor do I think it's a scent for WOMEN as in grown up ladies. I'd easily see any young woman wearing it. In my opinion it is absolutely suitable for day, any season. Not a heavy perfume like Opium, and it's totally different from the mainstream ( which is a great thing to me ).

I want to add that the first bottle I got was a counterfeit. FAKE. That one smelled very masculine at the opening and faded in a few seconds to nothing. The real thing is nothing like that. No masculine/alcohol smell in that.

Persefia

For me is pure sexiness in a bottle! Starts off a little strong, but as it settles down it becomes a lovely juice of sensuality. Lasts long and as time passes it has different shades, that make you wonder and dream. I think mature and elegant women should all have this in their perfume cabinet :)

Jernê Knowles

In my view, there are few flanker's that are entitled to the glory of his predecessors and achieve a place in the world of perfumery without forcing the bar, away from any aberrations that are in the olfactory pyramids. Allure Sensuelle Chanel is a good example of those here, here I refer to your EDP version. Very difficult Jacques Polge not please in their so well made creations, should there be the reason for this flanker has been successful since its launch, since who knows how to work well is precisely what is proposed and the results are always positive, as well as detachable. Output dense with peaches in Caldas, of those Christmas dinners, immersed in citrus juice and sweetened with drops of edible vanilla. Ever since its opening he poses as a perfume, and happy, too impressive in their own way, but presents itself. At the entrance to their environment is noticeable a burning pepper Rosa, these common found in Essences houses that begin to give him attributes of Oriental perfume, green Patchouli nuances, many roses still on the stalk, that is, alive, some white flowers and a whipped Iris, but without the makeup of weight that Guerlains can print here is more plot, Iris seedlings, dew on the petals and everything. In his order for Amber notes diluted in aromatic diffuser with drops of vanilla there from the beginning, an absurdly feminine and delicate dance, Vetiver roots effeminate by a dusting of spices in floral pink tones and Sandalwood with, oddly enough, Lavender one half manly deep down wanting to announce a possible compartilhamentação genres without success, is what I see. Besides being dense, shiny, and finally opulent, with all the oriental touch charging, can remember quite the Allure EDT that is more behaved and accessible, however, even better, as carries with it the characteristics of a great "perfume pump "Contemporary while the wish those who came before you.

Word of the Day: hesitation... (day 25)

Eugirlsniffs

My signature and all time favorite is the original Allure. Is this similar to that at all? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I am rather new to understanding the perfume world. Reading all of these reviews has really taught me a lot, so thank you to everyone for that. I have several samples of chanel, from Allure, Chance, 28 La Pausa, to Chanel No. 5. Coming from mainstream fruity, florals, at first I didn't like any of the Chanels that I have. I've come to realize that I personally associate powdery scents to more "mature" personas. With Allure Sensuelle, at first, although I liked the ambery-vanilla that develops on me, I wasn't sure how to understand that with the combination of the spicy florals. I guess it was just too foreign at the time, and as with many tastes that are acquired, took me a while to warm up to. About a year later, I finally get it. Now, I simply adore Allure Sensuelle. It's a sophisticated spicy rose, with a beautiful warm dry down. I keep testing other brands to see if I find one that's more fitting, more me, but I haven't yet. I really can't do fruity, or candy, and gourmands, I just don't get, although I'm still trying. To me Sensuelle is an exquisite fragrance that exudes warmth while being richly feminine.

Lilium86

Very masculine at a beginning but the drydown is softer and more sweet and oriental. I usually love oriental perfumes, but this one is not for me

leticiavalerio

This perfume is very good, the notes of vanilla and patchouli are wonderful in Perfumes . I love so much.

autumn777

On me this is a spicy Acqua di Gioia. I don't know why but I am overwhelmed by an aquatic smell. This does not work on my skin at all.

brebtalka40

Finally a Chanel I can wear! Coco Mademoiselle is too young for me, Coco feels too smoky, No. 5 I just cannot understand, Cristalle or Chance are too overwhelming, and the "old" Allure gives me headaches.
Love this Allure Sensuelle from the first sniff;, it makes my day better.

Kristina25

Sorry Allure EDT, but Sensuelle has surpassed you in my "Favourite Chanel" ranks. Yes, I've always liked Sensuelle but now that I've been wearing it more since September I've begun to fully appreciate it.
I used to find post-Coco Chanels overrated until I started getting into fragrance and started exploring. And I have to say, I think Sensuelle is my favourite. I can wear it any time of day, it oozes class and it has that Chanel patented sub-scent that I love without smelling like every other twentysomething woman wearing Chance or Mademoiselle.
The notes I find most prominent on my skin are an expertly fine tuned fusion of patchouli, vanilla, rock rose, big wet roses and - as my skin likes to amplify - lavender. Not one of these notes stand out though. It just feels like a melting pot of beautiful ingredients that leaves its own unique scent on my skin and clothes.
If I was writing an article for some pretentious magazine, I'd label Allure Sensuelle the "Cool Girl's" Chanel. It's modern, refined, sultry yet approachable and in my opinion, the absolute perfect office-to-bar-and-beyond fragrance. Seriously underrated.

Jmalone84

This is exquisite.

One of my favourites, it oozes beauty and refinement.

There is a reason it is so expensive. This does not smell at all like you might expect from the notes listed. This is because it is so perfectly blended the notes are not individually identifiable.

It has almost an aquatic essence to it, it is difficult to describe. What I do know is that it epitomises all of my favourite components and blends them seamlessly into one beautiful, loooong bloom with each component unfolding so softly, so gradually. This is what luxury smells like to me. In my opinion, the best of Chanel. It is everything sublime at once. I cannot love it enough.

The sillage and longevity is ideal. Could not be more perfect. 11 hours and still blooming.

The only qualm I have is this, I certainly could never wear this everyday, this is more of a 'for special' scent for when I want to feel really confident and beautiful. It deserves an audience. It might be a bit over-powering for everyday, especially on days where I might be feeling sensitive or hormonal- this could very well bring on a headache. This is something to be indulged in occasionally.

Magical.

PS. The next day I find myself wondering what the lovely smell in the room is, it is my leather jacket. I only spritzed some on my neck so it shouldn't have transferred, but it just speaks to the way its beauty radiates onto everything it touches. The epitome of quality fragrance.I honestly cannot gush about it enough. Returned to the department store today to steal a bit because I wasn't done loving it yet.

Jessica777

Personally, I find this EDP version too overpowering and, unfortunately, I was never able to like it as it gave me headache each time I applied it.
It is a great Chanel buy if you're looking for something warm and sensuous for an evening wear. However, I am way more happy to use EDT version.. :)

Addict2Perfume

Chanel Allure Sensuelle is definitely the sexbomb fragrance for mature women and I do not mean mature as in 40+, I mean mature as in a grown and sophisticated woman. I can pick up on the peach in the opening which is one of the most prominent notes in the original Allure, but in Allure Sensuelle I get a vanilla sandalwood blend with a softly spicy patchouli base. Since most department stores that sell Chanel products only sell the original Allure, I did not get a chance to smell the Sensuelle version before ordering it online from Chanel. After reading the reviews on here and seeing the breakdown of the notes, I blind bought it believing it would be something I would like. Well lucky me because I love it! Chanel has never let me down before, having purchased other fragrances from them, I know they produce quality fragrances and Allure Sensuelle is no exception. It’s absolutely gorgeous!

Last weekend I was supposed to meet my friends at this new club downtown for one of our friend's grad celebration (she just graduated from fashion school). I got ready, left my apartment to grab dinner before heading to the club when I realized I forgot to put perfume on! Horror of all horrors! (I know, I hate me for saying that too) I then went to the nearest perfume shop and sprayed some of this on. Thinking "Sensuelle? Why not? I could be SENSUELLE!" (no I can't). I sprayed it on and absolutely hated the opening, I panicked I wanted to cover it up with something, but then I decided to let it dry down for a while. Went to the restaurant and while I was eating (I kind of felt awkward eating alone in a restaurant) I kept smelling this beautiful fragrance. I started scanning the room and then I realized it was me! Right then and there I put my wrist up to my nose, took a deep breath and let out an indiscreet sight. After that I didn't care that I was eating alone, I didn't care what anybody else thought because giiirrrrl, I smell AMAZING! The rest of the night was fun too, and 3 sprays of this lasted all night! I now have a 100ml sitting in my little perfume cabinet. :)

Oh and is it just me or does this perfume feel more like a Dior than a Chanel? Or am I just crazy for associating really heavy vanillas with La Maison de Christian Dior?

rschmidt65

Coco Madamoiselle and Allure had a baby and she is a beauty!
This was a blind swap for me. (Thank you Yourfoxiness!) It sounded perfect for me and I was not wrong. It has the melon note of Coco M. but somehow more powdery. It also has less of the clean and aquatic feeling that was ultimately a deal breaker with me and Coco M. The opening is like a more sensual version of Allure, deeper and sweeter.
Another good one by Chanel!

Angeldaisy

very Chanel.
first whiff is sour melons...but not unpleasant.
warm woody, a teeny bit sweet (but not sugary sweet)...more like a creamy balsamic lotion.
i don't get the powder, not at all.
there's a nice soft, deep, black vanilla.
the patchouli must be clean, as i can't really smell it under the rest of the composition.
i'm afraid i don't get any spice or pepper...unless that is the warmth that comes through towards the end?
it has a lot going on....and the result = melons.
i am surprised by the reviews and the prominent notes that were chosen and this being largely described as a patchouli centric fragrance.
i love patchouli and that is why i bought this...this is not my kind of patchouli, well for a start, i can't really tell it is there.
i recognise its' resemblance to Coco and Mademoiselle.
incredibly longlasting, "womanly" and appealing.
but don't get this if you are looking for spice and/or patchouli.
got nice womanly wafts all day and well into the evening, but i am not sure this is my kind of scent.

EDIT: i have worn this a few more times...and it turns out, this is my kind of scent. love it.
perhaps it's because i've been wearing my Coromandel sample...and the other day my friend quirted me with coco mademoiselle. All of these perfumes smell very Chanel. so what if one of them smells a bit of melons! i like melons!

veronika.m

One of the sexiest perfumes I know. Maybe the most sexiest one. I can hardly describe it, its incomparable to anything else. For me it's just pure sexiness and passion in there ;) would definitely wear it on an evening date, on a night party, if I wanted to seduce someone.
It is very sharp though, not anything soft for romantic souls... Rather a bit.y one :))))
Love it

beatrix75

this is my beloved signature fragrance ,really works with my skin and the must of the feedback that how good I smell it was Allure sensuelle edp!!! It is so amazing woody creamy spicy very long lasting perfume ,I think the sexiest exotics silage monster .my love forever 10/10

ellenresia

This is the best of the best perfume that I've ever had. This is just more than word of perfect. Stunning, fabulous, sexy, and I have no word to describe how beautiful the sensuelle is. This score is 10 of 10 :)

Antares811

OMG! I had this scent a few years ago and I was not very impressed because on my skin it turned a bit too woody-masculine for my tastes.
Body chemistry, or my nose, have changed.. so I smelled it again today and I totally fell in love!
This scent is amazing, a powdery, spicy, warm floral, a cozy, very elegant and ultrafeminine fragrance. I cannot stop sniffing my wrists!
It's a skin scent but it's extremely long lasting (the powdery-vanilla drydown is wonderful).
This is similar to the sophisticated Coco Noir (maybe the powdery-balmy notes), which is fresher and more citrusy and it's similar to my beloved Coco Mademoiselle as well, (the spicy-fruity notes) but this is warmer, sweeter, more womanly (and less popular).
The EDT is beautiful as well, lighter and fresher than the EDP.
This gorgeous scent is perfect for being a signature.

Perfumedsecrets

I thought this had been discontinued because it was impossible to find anywhere, but now it's back at limited stores. I'm not sure why Chanel scaled back production for it. The scent is so captivating in the fall. A little too powerful for the warmer months.
Update: This is now sold at Saks, and they even carry the parfum.

samlovefragrance

allure sensuelle is a beauty. A warm spicy vanilla, with a distinct patchouli aura and dry fruity rose. It smells complex and it manages to be borderline gourmand yet totally serious and chanel.
It's a sibling of both chance edp and coco noir, but on inspection its also completely different; much spicier and warmer.
It's also very versatile, few spritz for daytime and double spritz at night.

EDIT: Allure sensuelle sometimes feels like it's clashing, pulled by one side by the patchouli, spice, pepper and vetiver, and then fighting with it's vanilla rose and peach... woof! even I think it's too busy sometimes. But it's a fiery loud Chanel and i Like it :P :)

what a surprise- I had never smelled this one, and none of the local stores carried it. Macy's, Dillard's - they carry other Chanel fragrances, but not this one. I enjoy Coco Mademoiselle and coco Noir, but before I invested the money- I wanted to try all the scents. Chance, and Allure didn't impress. so ... I had to resort to buying this frag from the Chanel website. I had serious qualms about a $100 blind buy. The best reassurance: Chanel includes a prepaid return label! pleasant surprise, so I figured I could return it if my chemistry clashed. It was love at first whiff. This is a potent confident frag, feminine yet powerful= I love it. But I could never smell the dry down- the scent seemes to dissipate on my skin after a few hours. yet others still smell it- when I walk past, after I leave a room- co-workers have told me "what a lovely perfume". and my dentist's assistant literally said "WOW" what are you wearing ? that is so beautiful. so I am keeping this one. currenty wearing it everyday. lovely lovely lovely

Update: OK, I can still smell this beauty hours after I apply it; yesterday, I applied Allure sensuelle after showering, and right before I walked out the door I spritzed one more spray near my neck/ hair; I could still smell AS at the end of the work day! then, at night when I hugged my mom- she said "ummmm, I can smell your perfume today". So update on longevity: 10 + hrs.

Lipglossjunkee

This is a beautiful fragrance--sweet and sexy, and a bit no-nonsense, with that dominant patchouli making itself known.

This opens with a bright burst of bergamot and pink pepper on me. I don't normally enjoy pink pepper, but the bergamot is bright and fresh and citrusy, so the pepper takes a backseat. Underscoring the top notes right away is the candied fruit accord. It is sweet and fun, and a tad soapy (to be honest), but I don't mind it. I *can* see how this could be cloying if too much is sprayed though, this is definitely a scent that requires a lighter hand.

The drydown just gets better---a creamy, powdery, spicy blend of patchouli, vetiver, amber, rose, and spices that is both sexy and comfortable. This is Coco Chanel in jeans and a T shirt, wearing her best pearls. The girl-next-door that will totally rock your world. Classy, sexy, and intriguing. So very glad I managed to hunt down a bottle of this!
Sillage is moderate, longevity on me (the scent eater) is 8.5 hours before it's a very close-to-the-skin scent.

Bollen

This is one of those perfumes that I never would have bought myself if I had smelled it at a store, because it starts off very strong and a bit "old lady" to me. And what a shame that would have been! Luckily our paths crossed when I got half a bottle from a friend who had grown tired of it. She must be "nosecrippled",- how could you ever get tired of this?! But I´m deeply grateful to her becuse now it is one of my all time favourites.

It starts off as a very stong incense and woody kinda smell, but dries down quickly (without loosing it´s potency) to one of the most intoxicating powdery warm spicy smells I have ever had the fortune of smelling. Ever. How did I miss this one for so many years? Embarassing. I have never smelled my wrist so much in my life, I hope no one notices becuse Im pretty sure that I look retarded with a stupid smile on my face when I do... Not that you really need to smell your wrist, it is as I mentioned very potent and also longlasting. It lasts for at least a day or two. (I can still smell it after i´ve showered!)
I dont get much patchouli at all, maybe in the beginning, but more of a very spicy warm powdery hug with just the right amount of sweetness. The vanilla and pink pepper are noticeable but is also very well balanced.

I have precious few drops left in my bottle and I´m starting to panic a bit since I know I can´t really afford to buy a new bottle anytime soon.

My only criticism is that the sprayfunction is waaay too generous, at this rate I only have a few "spritzes" left.
:(

Venusia

Wonderfully balanced scent! Fine and sophisticated. Made for the strong, self-possessed but still feminine woman. One spray is enough for 12 hours. Anything more than that is too much and will spoil your and others pleasure.

LizWords

This has been one of my favorite go-to winter perfumes for a long time. Regardless of how my tastes change and favorites get switched this one remains up there next to few other lasting loves like Shalimar.

It is incredibly strong and has amazing longevity, a little goes a long way and lasts all day and well into the night. The opening is a little off-putting at first, it opens with a lot of patchouli and comes off a bit masculine, but the patch dies down quick and the everlasting drydown starts and it is divine. It is sandalwood patchouli vanilla heaven with enough sweet fruit added to keep it feminine.

Cherri_lipz20

Hi there, I have a 90% full EDP, please contact me if you would like to swap. looking for un bois vanille - serge lutens, or other vanilla fragrances, the other cocos, I'm flexible.

jotaclow

I'm a big fan of Chanel House, because all fragances are very exquisite and carry that classic vibe we only feel on rich people's smell, ahaha!
Sensualle is a beautiful interpretation of the original Allure, heavy, deep and fruity, boderline unisex. I've tried for the first time on a birth party at night, and all woman couldn't stop smelling my neck and asked what I was wearing, but they didn't find feminine at all. I think sandalwood, spices and vanilla give this sense.

Very chic and respectful sillage, present on the environment, strongly recommended for both man and woman.! =)

sjam3295

I was intrigued by the comparisons of this perfume with Coco Noir and, as I have both, decided to test: AS on my right wrist, CN on my left. Here's my two-penn'th to add to the brew.

First, the similarities. Patchouli is prominent in both; both are balsamic, although AS slightly more so. Both have rose peeking in and out during the dry-down.

Now for the differences. I find that CN is more fresh-spicy, more sandalwood and citrus, whereas AS is more resinous, more warm-spicy. At one point during the dry-down, AS takes on a caramely, almost gourmand note.

All-in-all, CN (perhaps ironically) is lighter and fresher. I can imagine wearing this in any season, day or night. For me, AS is darker, warmer (which suits its name), and I see this as a cold weather/night-time fragrance.

Both are wonderful, complex fragrances in my book, and distinctly Chanel, but different enough to my nose.

Juliana6

If you hate patchouli, this scent might make you change your mind or at least make you start to consider patchouli as a perfume ingredient.
The opening is a quite strong wave of citrus+patchouli, and not everybody would appreciate it, but just wait about 5 minutes to feel the magic!
The scent becomes sensual, not cheaply sexy, but mysterious sensual. The violet, the roses and a tiny drop of some spicy elixir slowly "come in", which makes this scent sophisticated powdery, just a bit woody and very feminine. The dry down on me turns into an expensive rosy, spicy +vanilla soap mixture, but this soap is gorgeous -warm, elegantly sweet and unforgettable.
It's a cold autumn morning. I imagine a lady over 30 sitting in a cafe, having a cup of great, high quality green tea with some vanilla accents. She's dressed in black, the make up is present but you can't tell. Light, but still so intellectual, elegant and wise. She knows what's life about, and she regrets nothing. And all she'll leave behind her is a trail of this wonderful, feminine perfume.

Michylaka

A friend bought the EDP for me knowing I love Chanel fragrances back when it came out in like 2006. This fragrance is one of my favorites for winter especially. I wear it to holiday parties with my cashmere sweaters and pencil skirts or with my leather jackets and jeans. It makes no difference.

This fragrance is soft and bold all in one. It is edgy in a way that is intoxicating to me the wearer and anyone who is within six feet of me. It is strong but it pleases the senses of everyone that I ever met anyway.

I have heard people say "What is that perfume I smell?" "Do you smell that?" "Who is wearing that?" Then those who know it is me are always asking what I am wearing man and woman alike. I prefer this over Allure for the cooler months. This fragrance is a conversation starter. Not many are. Love love love!!!
10/10

Silences

This is the spirit of Allure with huge dose of sexy. If you like Allure at all or even if you think Allure is nice but it doesn't knock your socks off, try this fragrance.

This fragrance can be a challenge to come by in person since it is offered in limited doors at the high end department stores like Bloomingdale's but the universal reaction by Chanel employees is one of admiration for this perfume. I think that really says something.

The initial intense blast of fragrance may put you off but wait a few minutes and the magic starts to happen. The patchouli and spices settle in and you begin to notice that familiar scent of Allure bleed through. This is what Coco Noir is to Coco. In the cooler months you'll want to switch over to this one from Allure. Sillage & Longevity are well above average.

This is a fantastic fragrance if you are going out or you just want to stand out a bit. You can't help but feel sexy wearing this fragrance. You can just blow by the hundreds of women all wearing Coco Mademoiselle and think to yourself THIS is how it's done ladies. Just be prepared for many compliments to come your way when you wear Allure Sensuelle.

mobscene

One of my friends has this perfume and I've recently visited her.Out of curiosity I sniffed it and just fell in love with it. It's exactly as its name says.. "sensuelle". Gorgeous perfume. Definitely gonna buy it!

auroramaria

I revisited this beauty today as I had a couple of samples which I got with a purchase.
This is an evergreen amazing sensual fragrance.
I get mainly patchouly at the start but it soon mellows into a spicy sweetness becoming then rather powdery on me.
Very alluring and sophisticated very well crafted.
O n me this has great longevity and monster sillage.
Probably better suited for nightime wear for its sexiness or better for when you feel like being noticed.

ellina1984

I really wanted to like this and was looking forward to the spices, but unfortunately, I got no spices whatsoever, from top to bottom. I got a refreshing, bitter-ish bergamot in the beginning, then rose and jasmine, nicely blended, then a bit of sandalwood (very discreet) and vanilla. Mainly, the perfume was very soapy. I wouldn't have guessed it' s classified as an oriental.

djuzz.becuzz

Chanel has never really gotten my motor running,... also not with this one.
I think in this version the lavender really comes to the surface on my skin. It's not a very distinctive lavender scent that I get, but of course there's a whole bunch of notes in this composition. I also smell the fruits and flowers, spices and vanilla... but I can't help the fact that this scent reminds me of toilet freshener.
On my skin it's also rather soft and lacks longevity.
In my opinion it's a bit of an over rated fragrance.
To me feels like it's so popular only because it has Chanel written on it...

MeThePerson

... Heady, luxurious...
... 'Sexuelle' Allure.

éciboszi

Brilliant creation. It is inimitable and durable on my skin. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it.
scent of love from consuming ő.Már 5 100ml bottle., I will always love, enchants everyone who comes near me.

Revontuli

Once you're spellbound with any version of Allure, you won't be able to resist trying all the others... Sensuelle is the spiciest, the most oriental one of the family. My journey has started with EdT, then Sensuelle (both versions) and EdP and I love each of them so much, I can never be without either of them...

vongocap

Had been a signature for some years. I still own a bottle and sometimes I do reach for it. But then I smell from the cap this overwhelming incense and this weird fruit that smells like a sort of watermelon, although there is no watermelon, can you imagine superchic Chanel putting a watermelon note in their fragrances??? Noooo. Well, but I smell that, and it disturbs me so much. i don't know why, but I have to grab all my courage to take a spritz now.. But then.. I have to wait 10 minutes or less, and it gets again the super sensual scent Ive been knowing so well. Still love it, perfect for cold seasons, potent sillage and lasts eternally on skin, would smell fantastic on a man either. This is the real coco noir for me

Hellenna

On me this smells of roses and powdery irises. Perhaps some vanilla warmth, but no, fruit, patchouli or musk.

giorgio 223

it must be allure sexuelle instead sensuelle!!! wonderful!!!!

Sonja Novakovic

I wear this one very often, I have received many compliments for it. Feminine and seductive.

I have carried out a little experiment over the last hour; La Petit Robe Noire remastered on one hand, and Allure Sensuelle on the other. This is a way to illuminate certain aspects of a frangrance by way of contrast. It works excellently. It is now absolutely obvious how cute and berry-like LPRN is, and, more excitingly, something new has come through in Allure Sensuelle. Well 3 new things, none of which, being a novice ingredients discerner, I can name. I don't think I'm on the nail in my IDs, but here goes. I wore Allure Sensuelle to bits when I first got it because it was new and so didn't evoke anything from the past. That was a good thing at the time. I was never entirely satisfied with it; too much overripe fruit [apricots/peaches/nectarines/plums?] for me and not enough wood, or so I thought.
Now, in contrast with LPRN it is salty and there seems to be a hint of some creamy white flower which I am finding absolutely captivating and transcendent. And most excitingly is something I will call 'burnt oil on the engine head' or 'machine'. The harder I try to capture this, the more it's eluding me, but it's either metallic or epoxy resin-like. Either way, it's industrial. It's a memory of somewhere work-related I've been. It could even be linseed oil. Or pure gum turpentine. Maybe I have to return to the saltiness and forget the sea, but think more of some kind of conifer. aaargh it's escaped :D. Another time, I'll track it down perhaps. Maybe something from the dentist's. could be either epoxy or cloves. No. It's a wood. No. Leather? What's in boot polish? Turps. And back full circle to the mineral oil.
Please forgive the rambling. So much fun, this thought/sense/memory sleuthing.
I'm grateful both of these lovely perfumes have been made.

zzMaja

Tried a sample and absolutely loved it. Next on my list to purchase. Very soft, very feminine. I can easily wear this several days in a row and not tire of it.

Revontuli

I can't express enough how much I love Allure EdT... Nothing will ever replace it, not even another Chanel. And I always felt hesitant to try the other versions fearing that they might not be as long-lasting. But I lately bought a mini pure perfume sample of Allure Sensuelle. How come a fragrance can smell this divine? So warm, mysterious and definitely "alluring". Not only sweet, nor only spicy but a wonderful compound with much less citrus. Can you fall in love twice? Oh yes, you can indeed!

donimili

First thing I smelled when I sprayed Allure Sensuelle was pepper, and I loved it. Now, I am not saying that this is the best Chanel perfume ever, everybody has a different taste, but to me it is. It is queen among the rest of Chanel family . I love it so much that i even bought a small 7.5 ml bottle of parfum :) Oh my God, I am so happy about that, i can't describe it!

ecerusen

on me, opens with bergamot and patchouli. sharp, metallic note i smell. then a little hint of peach takes its turn. sandalwood wisely used in it.
then it becomes powdery, soft, and elegance perfume. i detect a lot of rose in it which in a good form.

but this smell fits on my clothes more than on me. and be careful it lasts forever :) and i like the way it fulls my room. its a happy perfume for me :)

it is weird because i didnt like coco noir. i didnt understand why people like CN this much. so i'm a bit surprised that people find similarities between this 2 perfumes.

anyway, i like coco mademoiselle's seductive smell. not good or bad,my opinions is neutral for CM but interestingly everytime i smell on others(on the people next to me) i immediately think "sexy". but lots of people use it in here. it's everywhere.
for this aspect, allure sensuelle is more personal and original kind for me.

sillage : 7/10
longevity : 9/10

charmedbella

Allure Sensuelle reminds me more of a younger sister to Coco Noir or perhaps a lovely mix of the original Allure EDP and Coco Noir. The patchouli in Sensuelle is of a similar tone to Coco Noir, but with the lovely vanilla of Allure. The light spices bring Sensuelle to a different playing field, where Coco Noir carries patchouli, sandalwood, resins, and citrus and Allure drifts on its playful bed of vanilla and peach.

And yet, where most women might choose Sensuelle for their evening scent, I think it is entirely daytime appropriate. It isn't as dark or serious as Coco Noir, yet it's more mysterious than the vibrant and sparkling Allure.

If you already own Coco Noir (or anything of a similar vein), however, you could probably pass on Sensuelle. On me, Sensuelle is lighter than Coco Noir. If resins and bold citrus aren't for you, then you would likely prefer Sensuelle's softer nature.

Elegant, classic, and entirely sensual; a sophisticated choice for day or evening wear.

I forgot to add that the first time I wore Sensuelle out (to the grocery store) a woman complimented me, saying it smelled beautiful and clean.

psloves

I love it, I bought this earlier in the year when there were rumours it was being discontinued.
I searched for it everywhere, but was sold out in the UK. I finally picked up my bottle in the airport and it was the last one. I asked the Chanel sales assistant but she wasn't aware that it was being discontinued but I often find sales assistants are the last to know these things!!

I was torn between buying this or Coco Noir but I'm so pleased I choose this. I've had Allure before which I like but this has an extra edge. Its defiantly Sensuelle, I feel great when wearing this and can't stop smelling myself.

Yes like some people have said it is strong. But if you don't spray too much and wait for the dry down its a great perfume to wear and I always receive compliments.

saradz

I am sorry ,I tried my best to love it ,but no chance for this hope .
For me is so heavy ,the musk there has spoiled any other aromas, it s like a bottle of musk net and plain !
I do like some heavy strong perfumes such as Dior poison ,or door addict ,but allure sensual is not at all classy or appealing !

Tulipano

It is my happy perfume! I sniff it and spray it and then I enter a state of ultimate happiness! It has the same effect of chocolate on me! It is extremely sensual! If you want to feel happy, sensual, and sexy in an elegant way, go for it! I recommend it for winter nights! Enjoy!

DEAR SUPPORT. CHANGE THE NOTES IN THE PYRAMID!!!. IT IS WRITTEN THAT THE PERFIME IS MADE OF
The top notes contain bergamot, mandarin and pink pepper. The heart is composed of jasmine, rose, iris, candied fruits and vetiver followed by the base notes of French vanilla, amber, patchouli and frankincense.
LOOK
THE PYRAMID IS DIFFERENT!!I STARTED LOOKING AT THE NOTS AND REALIZED THAT THRE WAS SOMETHING WRONG. THE DISCRIPTION IS DIFFERNT FROM THE PYRAMID.

THE DISCRIPTION IS CORRECT, BECAUSE IT IS HOW IT SMELLS, BUT NOT LIKE IN THE PYRAMID.

angelayio

When I first applied it, it felt like an oldlady perfume but then I realised it was just timeless. Indeed it is like an aura. I love to wear it at the office and even though I did not excpect it, it becomes a clean scent, after an hour or so. You have to give it time.

kati77

i tryed it many times in different weather days. sorry but i dont like it. i feel aldehydes mostly. no rose ,no vanilla, patchuli ..no. just aldeh. i would like to enjoy this frag but it just doesnt work.

divasg

It is infused with too much SPICE. Very heady and spicy. Nothing like the gentle normal Allure. Sensual it is not, it is in fact harsher and has a sharp pang to it that gives me instant headache.

Based on the many good reviews I read here about sensuelle, I went to the perfume shop & was 100% sure that I would buy this bottle. Once the lady there sprayed it I was SHOCKED !!! I smelled nothing but nail polish + glue !! Sorry for all sensuelle lovers out there but this bottle is full of chemicals smell.
I tried the Allure EDP again I was surprised how different it smelled, warm, fresh floral & very tender yet elegant which I ended up buying.

I will probably be forever debating with myself whether it is “me” or not “me” but I like it a lot and I am close to falling in love now, so I will use it anyway.

I am not really a fan of Chanel, and I quite strongly dislike most of Chanels I have tried, so this is my first good impression from the house. Naturally, I was strongly prejudiced about anything from Chanel. Image of a woman who wears anything from the house in my head was (and is) definitely not me. But I tested Allure Sensuelle once and liked it imediatelly, I was impressed and couldn’t forget it. I got then a large sample and enjoy it every time I use.

The smell is very rich, elegant and comforting. Like many of Chanels, it smells elegance and luxury too. It is sophisticated and feminine, not in a girly but in a mature way. It last very long on me and forever on clothes. Sillage is much more powerful that I would like it to be, but you should know that I prefer scents close to my skin. This is very much an evening scent, I would say, but can be used to work, if applied very lightly. i still dislike that it is too recognizable and too similar to other Chanels.

The scent is so well blended, that for me it is very difficult to smell separate notes. Not that I am very curious this time, since I adore the mix itself. The opening is almost fruity to my inexperienced nose, then there are some flowers and fruits, then flowers and sandalwood. There is a lot more here, but everything very well blended. This is a very warm scent, and while I normally dislike anything sweet, I cannot complain here, because sweetness is so well balanced with spices and wood.

It makes me feel safe and comforted and just a bit happier than I’d be without it. It makes me feel more elegant and lets me see some more magic in every day. it helps me to feel a "better" version of myself, and while it may not be exactly "me", sometimes it feels good.

If anyone loves this perfume but can't afford it - try Queen Of The Night: Black Opium perfume oil (always on amazon or ebay for a few bucks).

JUST as good as Allure Sensuelle if you're on a budget (and as much as it pains me to say this, it lasts longer too).

Not long ago, I resigned myself to the fact that I will never be able to afford to own a big/full bottle of Coromandel (part of the Les Exclusifs range from Chanel). I still have my 3-4ml decant, but it's obviously for special occasions only as it would be a crime to waste it.

Since that "woe is me" moment - I've been looking for other perfumes that remind me of Coromandel. Don't get me wrong, NOTHING will match it - and Allure Sensuelle only has a few notes in common with it, but so far Sensuelle is the closest I've come.

As some of you know, I am crazy about Patchouli! Allure Sensuelle, like Coromandel, handles the Patchouli absolutely beautifully - perfectly. Aside from that gorgeous note...the spices, pepper and Vetiver set a delicate Lavender note off, which makes the Patchouli quite soft once it's dried down. The florals are really only in the background in this perfume (on me that is) - they're delicate but still noticeable in a nice, NON cloying way.

Allure is a perfume I've never really understood the buzz about to be honest. It's nice enough, but in no way does it stand out to me at all (not when I've had it on and not when I've smelled it on a number of others either).

Allure Sensuelle is a different story though. It is sophisticated, feminine yet versatile enough for a man to be able to easily wear it, complex and it's one of those fragrances that after some time become like a second skin.

I would wear this all year round - It's working in the warmer weather beautifully and I'm certain it would work just as well, if not better, in the cooler months.

Scents like this and Coromandel are making me fall in love with this house all over again. Sillage, longevity, projection...well, I don't even need to say anything. It's Chanel :)

Allure sensuelle is more than
just being fresh, woody, bright spicy,
timeless floral, fruity, and oriental.
(as written at the back of my tester bottle),

To me, the fragrance is bold
and divine, with absolute charm.

I love the bottle so much, it's simple and sturdy.
Its longevity is powerful, so does its silage.
A full size bottle will last for many years.
Surely, this is one of many Chanel fragrances
worth spend on.
