Expensive for what it is. Get a citrus summer scent from Hermes Jardin line instead or DKNY Be Delicious green bottle or from Loccitaine Verbena line

This fresh, understated, agreeable delight was my daily go to when working a high pressure dream job I never thought I could achieve despite years of striving and proving. My secret citrus weapon, helping me through. Light and flawless, one of the only citruses that never leans towards a bathroom cleaner or insect repellant.

I sprayed Cristalle Eau Verte on my wrists this morning and immediately thought of those paper straws that are filled with lemon powdery sugar candy. It is the beginning of February. The days are getting longer and I am anticipating spring. I wanted to wear something with magnolia in it because I had been searching out new magnolia fragrances. Then I remembered Cristalle Eau Verte. It is so beautiful! I'm not looking for another magnolia fragrance now. I last wore my Cristalle Eau Verte in July of 2023. I was still a bit on the fence about it. No straddling the fence now. I love this fragrance. My bottle was purchased before the 2023 version. I'm not sure if they are the same. I really want a back up of this fragrance. Chanel has raised their prices though. Now I'm on the fence about the new price. I will let you know what I decide.

Chanel's Cristalle Eau Verte is a citrusy fragrance, but it is not overwhelmingly so. I can smell the fruity and juicy accords from the lemon and bergamot in the opening of this fragrance, but it doesn't smack me in the face like Fairy soap liquid. It smells more fresh, if anything, despite this fragrance having citrusy nuances throughout its whole wear.

The neroli and magnolia heart is a nice way of continuing the citrusy theme in Cristalle Eau Verte, whilst toning it down even more and bringing in some sweet and feminine floral and white floral accords. This is probably my favorite stage of this fragrance and I wish that it lasted longer.

In the base I can smell some of the jasmine, but I can smell the iris much more and I can't smell any of the musk in the base notes. From the start till the finish, I can smell a prevailing greenness and fresh spicy quality that makes my throat irritated and scratchy if I smell my arm too closely and this is probably my last favorite thing about Chanel's Cristalle Eau Verte fragrance.

I got an average wear of 4 hours on me and it gave me a somewhat intimate scent bubble that didn't really leave a trail on my skin. I could imagine this being a good scent you could wear during the day for both spring or summer and that either a man or a woman could wear it. It smells almost sort of shampooey to me.

I thought that this perfume was above average but far from perfect and not something that I would wear personally and so I'd give this fragrance a 6.8/10.

Sparkling and deliciously cooling. Exactly what’s needed to freshen up after a long flight. Perfectly Chanel.

Ferra_Verto

The spray of freshly squeezed lemons & bergamot mixed with the petals of neroli-forward white florals that become a touch powdery. Very fresh, sparkling, and invigorating, perks you right up.
Best suited in warm/hot weather, lasts on average 5 hrs, definitely needs to be reapplied for a long day.

I’ve had one complaint about this fragrance. It came from our rescue cat, Felix. Cats don’t like citrus smells and he wouldn’t come near me when I had CEV on. He came around though. I think the magnolia won him over. It might have been because he was missing making biscuits on my lap, too.
My bottle of CEV’s nearly empty and I’m a bit devastated. I’ll definitely be saving the pennies to replace it. It’s the magnolia for me. I love it in fragrances and I love it in real life.

Lipsticksuzie

This product is back in stock online in the UK for anyone that’s after this.

Buffy72

One of the best and brightest citrus fragrances out there. Easily my perfume of choice on a hot summer's day!

LouiseRose

This is at the top of my favorites for many years. It is so refreshing and beautiful! I just read all the comments saying it was being discontinued, although I checked and Chanel still offers it on their website. It’s the original Cristalle that has been discontinued. I have the original also and find it a bit too smoky and mossy for me.

Laoire

I bought this a number of years ago now and have kept it in the box stored away in my wardrobe. Sprayed it today to remind myself of the scent and It is absolutely gorgeous and classy. It is a green citrus scent that sweetens on the skin. So refreshing! I have fallen in love with green citrus scents again but this one is on the top of my list. What a shame its been discontinued!

Holliebobollie

Snatched up a bottle as it’s now been discontinued and it’s been on my to buy list for a while. A beautiful citrus light floral that’s perfect for day wear in warmer months or climates. Doesn’t smell like a cleaning product as so many citrus ones do, I prefer this to the other Cristalle as I can’t handle too much oakmoss.

Bloomsbury Barton

Phew, I’m wearing CEV on a hot, humid Australian summer day. I grabbed a bottle of this before stocks become scarce since it’s discontinued now.
If you love lemon, this is worthy of tracking down. A lovely, fresh trail of soft, musky lemon and magnolia is politely wafting around me as I write. Cristalle EV is most agreeable and calming, perfect for elevated casual daytime wear.

With the arrival of summer here I've taken Cristalle Eau Verte out of its winter hibernation bed, and wow, each year when I do this I am reminded of why Cristalle Eau Verte always has a place of honour between my summer scents since I discovered it about 15 years ago.

This is all about the fresh lemon done in the most perfect way, along with beautiful neroli and magnolia. It is simple, classic and so elegant. I think with this one, in warmer and hot weather, you can use it any day at any moment for any occasion and you can never go wrong with it... as long as you love lemon ;)

For this kind of scent family, and despite all the comments I've read about it not lasting long, the performance is outstanding on my skin. It lasts nearly the whole day and is very present to me most of the time.

aplombJL

I was wearing this perfume for a job interview in a magnificent 1928 marble building
As I walk into the reception the handsome host asked me what perfume I was wearing because it had a 'divine' smell.
He had a megawatt smile as he said this and I thanked him and walked inside a glass elevator and the subtle and incredible waft of bergamot lemon iris magnolia and neroli floats in the air

That is how I will always remember this perfume - elegant and magnetic

rosetinteddream

I’ve wanted this for a few years, but it was either sold out at Chanel or eBay/Mercari re-sellers were selling it for $200, $300+ and I just couldn’t justify it even think about paying that. I’ve been lucky to track down vintages of the original EDT and EDP, and it has become one of my favorites.

Last week I randomly searched for it on Mercari and found a never used 100 ml tester bottle for under $100 and knew the deal would probably not come again soon or at all so I went for it! I got it a few days ago and have worn it a few times.

The first spray, which I have to add the bottle has a wonderful atomizer, is full of citrus. Lemon is the main star in the opening, and it reminds me of the same lemon in Allure Homme Edition Blanche. But the bergamot also shows up, turning it into a slight gin & tonic, lemonade like aroma. It’s very refreshing.

The opening blends with the neroli and magnolia and HERE is where I start to get the littlest hint of what I know of Cristalle. The florals emerge without either screaming out to me, but I can tell they are there.

As the base comes forward, the citrus is dialed down, and the heart slightly remains as jasmine and Iris come forward. The green nature is maintained, while a more floral and musk/powdery base grounds and balances it all.

It’s absolutely lovely. It’s not quite Cristalle, or it’s more a modern re-imagination kind of in the way No 19 Poudre is for the OG No 19. I do think this is more appropriate for warm weather, but I also like wearing refreshing scents in the winter as they can help elevate my mood.

Someone on here mentioned Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea and I will say yes, this does remind me of that! But, in a more elegant way.

Also I’m getting decent longevity with it so far! Surprisingly. I read on here it doesn’t last more than 30 minutes, but I must be lucky as I’m getting hours of performance from it. I even have oily skin and I find a lot of perfumes just get absorbed and disappear, but some last and I’m glad this is one of them! It doesn’t project like crazy, but that’s absolutely fine as this is for me.

I've heard this is being discontinued. It's my all-time favourite, my signature fragrance and darling love scent. If people have bottles over, MESSAGE ME! I can't imagine living without this beauty!

frrancuzka

I love it, it reminds me of an elegant, sunn, June afternoon in a golf club. Bright, sparkling citrus yet with a sophisticated honey next to it, delicate, energetic, fits well to white, crisp shirt, good pair of sunglasses and a glass of Chardonney. My fav since many years.

Ruby Galore

In the beginning it is a bergamot, than a sweet lemonade, a natural scent, later you can smell the magnolia and flowers. The scent is wonderful, but it is in two categories: ‘very weak’ and ‘intimate’

Raluko111

This is the perfect summer fragrance for me. It is light, citrusy without being too sweet, and reminds me of Amalfi lemons and trips to Italy. It is just right for hot, steamy summers, as it just adds a hint of freshness and fun. I keep sniffing at it almost like it's aromatherapy, I find the scent so soothing and relaxing. Too bad it doesn't last so long. If you like this, try Nishane's Colognise: it's not exactly the same, it leans a bit more masculine, but it has better projection and longevity and it's just as lovely.

giri-boni

Excellent, flawless construction. Extremely well made citrus. Uplifting, zesty, mouthwatering. Will not last long, but will make you happy for a couple of minutes.

Mystères du Château de Dé

Eau Verte is pretty, classy, and pure- smelling. And it's a light and fleeting fragrance, on my winter tries, mind you. Thus this Chanel is too expensive on my dime to impart carefree joy.

Adriennne

I wanted to like this one so much... it smells like sweet lemon to me. Not a fan at all. I disliked it so much.

jospie

I am obsessed!!
It starts off with fresh lemon and then seamlessly melts into neroli and magnolia then finally mellows down into this soft musky jasmine magnolia.
This is the most beautiful etherial summer scent ever!
I do have to reapply every 2- 3 hours but that’s okay too- the blast of lemon is like a welcome pick me up in the hot humid weather.

matthra

This was very unexpected.

Cristalle Eau Verte always seemed throw away to me from the notes to some of the reviews. I recently came into a bottle, and it blew my expectations away. This is one of the juiciest and bright lemon/bergamot openings I have tried. I typically shy away from lemon bomb openings, and I had initially struggled heavily with Cristalle EdP's citrus top note. But Eau Verte is a totally different direction. Once the amazing sparkles from the opening dissipate, the lemon stays and gets creamy/waxy floral with that magnolia--it all just feels irresistible as you melt away in uplifting and cool greenness along with it.

Smelling the sprayer gives me fragrant lemon in ice water, the heft of the bottle itself feeling like you're holding a decadent cold drink. It feels natural, it feels elevated. It is safe in the most happily secure way. This isn't a statement perfume except if you're trying to let everyone know you're staying home all day to smell this perfume over and over. The joy truly is in reapplying this. I think you'd want to even if it did last a little longer.

LouiseRose

I love this fragrance. It’s a lively, green floral/citrus scent. I purchased it during covid lockdowns and it was the perfect pick me up! Only downside is it doesn’t last as long on my skin as I would like. I often layer it with Chanel Gardenia, together they make a bright and cheery Spring/Summer day.

EllaDe7

Love it, so clean so fresh and delicate. Does not last long, settles so nicely.

Eribert

The opening of Cristalle Eau Verte is revolving around a sparkling lemon with hues of white flowers in the background. In this stage Cristalle Eau Verte smells like an expensive lemonade (although somebody else told me it reminded them more of vitamin c fizzy tablets) - refreshing and delicious. This might be the best opening I have experienced so far in a summer fragrance.

40 minutes in, it gets greener but retains its citric core notes, a dynamic that keeps on going for the next few hours.

At hour 3, the fragrance's formerly clear citric heart gets muddled by the iris and the magnolia. Despite this being the stage of CEV's development that I liked the least, it is still pleasant enough. For ther next four to five hours, the florals become comparatively strong, but they are always on a sour, green and dry side. Here, the scent gets more and more beautiful again.

At its final stage, from hour 7 to 11 (!), what you get is a soft, smooth lemon.

Cristalle Eau Verte is a very well-done citrus scent, perfect for summer - kind of what I wish Goutal's Eau d'Hadrien had been. This one really IS all about the citrus and still manages do develop into various distinct stages. In this fragrance, I hardly get any sweetness at all - even the floral notes lean bitter.

My overall impression is, that CEV is a light, tasteful and skillfully blended product that is a tad unusual but still perfectly workplace-safe.

I do recommend this one for any gender and age- it's a beautiful summer scent.

TL;DR: expensive lemonade, transparent bitter green with lemon core

lovetribe

a squeeze of lemon and nothing more.
really refreshing, the freshest scent ever.
great for those who love citrus fruits.
7/10

and it also lasts a long time.

Akscent

If the original Cristalle is an icy winter day in a bottle, this flanker is a lovely, bloom-laden spring one.

CEV has a great lemon opening underscored by bergamot. Lovely florals emerge in the heart and the base has just a bit of green hovering over a jasmine recognizable as a Chanel note with a hint of iris and musk as the foundation of the scent. But what makes this fragrance for me is the magnolia note. I love magnolia in the natural world and cherish the trees on my properties, but it almost never works for me in scents. Except here. The magnolia in CEV is lifelike, non-indolic and beautiful. What a fantastic fragrance, it is just what you'd expect from Chanel.

But nothing this lovely lasts long. The scent lingers for a little while with moderate projection and then steadily fades to a skin scent that is barely discernable after 3 hours of so, even in hot, humid weather. CEV is just too lovely to endure, like a rare and magnificent hot house flower.

I like to wear this scent in the evening after a before bed shower. It works any time of year and any time of the day. Most folks will probably want to wear CEV in warm weather as a daytime fragrance. It is safe for work, but you'll need to reapply if you want to smell the scent at the end of a full work day. I'm a guy, so, obviously, I regard this scent as unisex. If you can tolerate the limited performance of CEV (which some folks may find rather more objectionable given the price point for the EdT) this fragrance is well worth a try. I'm glad I own a bottle. Recommended.

churinl

I had never heard of this Cristalle flanker. Generally speaking, I didn't OG Cristalle particularly well either until I purchased the EDT a few years ago to get to know it better, but I was certainly aware of it's existence. In retrospect, I wish I had gone for the EDP over the EDT, but in the end, the important thing is that my interest in Cristalle is what brought Eau Verte into my life, and I love it!
I'm not a big fan of citrus scents generally speaking. They work well if you crave something refreshing in the heat, but the notes themselves don't tend to capture my fancy. But throw a little clean, non-cloying, and non-indolic magnolia in the mix, and my fancy has been caught! Like it's mother, Eau Verte doesn't seem so much to attach itself to my skin, but instead it gives me this illusion of floating around me, not on me. While moderate, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised with both the longevity and slight projection it possesses. It will even leave a soft sillage in it's wake when sprayed on clothes that flow with you when you walk. Being Chanel, naturally there are also exquisite flowers lending support, all balanced on a cloud of musk.
This is easily one of the best blind buys I have ever made, and I am looking forward to wearing it in the heat, giving me a refreshing citrus/floral blast without sacrificing an ounce of sophistication.

-Nice, mass-pleasing citrus scent. (-)

clone

the opening is really nice; fresh, zesty and bright. dries down to a very indolic magnolia.

Olfactory_Jules

First thing that hits me: LEMON. Wow, so much lemon it is overwhelming for my taste. Ok, so I will wait and see..... After maybe half an hour, it is a calm and soft lemonade. But there is not much to smell. As AnaisLouLou wrote "the perfume you wear when you want to wear nothing at all". It is a skinscent that is barely there... but it is there... I can see this one working well with hot and humid weather, but in colder weather this smell looses its potential. I definitely prefer chance eau fraiche, as it has more of the Chance vibe personality in a summer edition. However, this is a very well made lemon perfume. You can tell it is expensive, but would I buy it again? Not sure...

AnaisLouLou

The perfume you wear when you want to wear nothing at all. I have Cristalle in EDP, EDT and Eau Verte. The EDP and Eau Verte are my favourite. The initial wet spray is a little scary, a bit like bug spray. After 15mins, that's gone completely. Little green and spicy notes poke through over a beautiful salty, aromatic base which is like a whisper.

I'm so glad that Chanel made perfumes like this. Ones that take a bit of time to dry down, develop on the skin and last. Modern perfumes, have bombastic or beautiful openings then, fade to nothing. They're made for the person making a quick shopping trip and have 10 mins to spare at the perfume counter.

However, I don't recommend that you go out of your way to blind buy this. The dry down can come across as generic.

Flemeth

This one breaks my heart. Cristalle Verte is the most gorgeous green citrus fragrance, but from my skin it disappears without a trace in about an hour. I want to bathe in it!

ps. just saw that notino charges almost 200 eur for a bottle - maybe no bathing then.

Looking For Gabby

I’ve been obsessing over citrus everything this summer and it has led me into a rabbit hole of trying to find the perfect citrus fragrance. I was starting to think it didn’t exist. But a few days ago I was going through my perfume samples and I came across a sample I had bought a few years ago of Cristalle Eau Verte, it was more than half used so I figured I tried it and hated it. I left the sample out just to try it one last time before I toss it in the trash. Well, I tried it and I love it. I’ve been wearing it for the last three days and I just love it more and more. Eau Verte is what I didn’t know what I was looking for.

The citrus notes smell freshly squeezed. On my skin I pick up a lot of the powdery iris. Every so often I detect the jasmine. It’s a posh sophisticated but yet welcoming lemon scent. I want to smell like this all summer and every summer.

My heart broke when I read a previous post that this was discontinued. I did find it on the Chanel website. Bottle looks the same but the font seems to be gold instead of silver. Could it have just been repackaged or would it have also been reformulated? Either way I just ordered my bottle.

dsty

In the opening and heart, Cristalle Eau Verte smells more or less exactly like I imagined a Chanel lemon scent would, which is to say very well-made, as bright and sunny and friendly as any citrus scent, but in a casually elegant, restrained way. It's neither sweetened nor particularly tart or realistically zesty, and indeed rather green as the name suggests, with a definite floral touch to keep it from straying into edible territory. I like it very much in these early stages, although maybe not quite enough to feel the need to add it to my already sizable (decant) collection of lemon scents. And when it dries down that familiar Chanel musky/floral base takes center stage, and I lose interest in it. So I'm glad I finally got to test this, and it's only strengthened my intention to test more of the classic Chanels, but I'll leave it at sampling with this particular one.

HeavenScent73

How can Chanel have discontinued this, my beloved Cristalle Eau Verte? I fell in love with this years ago and wore the life out of it for about four consecutive summers. The lemon is so crisp and tart, it literally makes my mouth water. I love Cristalle, but the melon top note is too much for me sometimes. CEV is like drinking very fresh homemade lemonade on a hot day, I can’t get enough. I got £100 for Christmas last year from family and was blessed to find the very last bottle of this in Boots for £99. I have never spent so much on a perfume but given that it’s getting harder to find, felt totally vindicated. I will miss her when she is gone!

artemis16

Cristalle EDP and EDT have long been great favourites of mine, the EDT was my wedding scent on a beautiful August day, nothing more substantial would have suited the sparkling white light of the Greek summer.
I'm wearing the, very different to its parent line, Eau Verte in lockdown, while the temperatures have soared to 39 Celsius, despite it being only May.
It's most appropriate for hot weather. The notes I can sense, which is all except maybe the bergamot, are so incredibly transparent, as if you're looking through the finest of gauze fabrics. If you strain your senses to see any better, you almost lose the details altogether.
So delicate, it's a lovely scent, quite fleeting but thanks to the 100ml bottle, I can spray away.
Lovely as it is, I probably won't go back to it once it's finished.

Anast4s1a

Jacques Polge is a genius of course - he created an ultimate on the citrus theme.
The exception scent of a spring night after the rain. At the very beginning, I hear tart bergamot with a bitterish lime in a cool, sparkling, transparent swirl. The heart of the fragrance opens with of fine honeysuckle & a barely budding magnolia.

The chic scent of cleanliness and green freshness.

jjoyce2

What a solid fragrance. It is the perfect fragrance for a warm spring day. I picture a beautiful white flower garden full in bloom with gentle citrus scents wafting in the gentle wind. I would definitely wear this on a picnic or a summer day out.

I get the citrus, and white flowers like magnolia and jasmine. I get a soft musk that smells like clean laundry here. The scent is never overwhelming. But I don’t get any green from this, despite it being called “verte.” It don’t get the beautiful airy and ethereal vibe Cristalle edt has, and that was somewhat disappointing. But this fragrance does get the job done. It’s a classy, comforting, and beautiful fragrance that is easier to wear compared to Cristalle. I like the delicate harmony of citrus and white florals. It is very weak, so sprayings in between when wearing this. The longevity and projection is definitely similar to the Les Exclusifs Eau de Cologne, so keep that in mind when purchasing.

sarahherbs

This is one of my favorite and most underrated Chanel perfumes. It is easy to wear and is light, bright, and sparkly. This is nothing like the original Cristalle, which smells like a Pacific NW forest in the dead of winter. Eau Verte is the same forest in the middle of summer with sparkling orange blossom, jasmine, and citrus zest. The absence of oakmoss prevents it from entering chypre territory.

marusiatko

Very summery, lemony, carefree yet luxurious with limited longevity (barely 3 h.) and very soft sillage. Imagine drinking lemonade while sitting on the grass. Recommended for weekend use or in the hot summer day when you want to feel happy, clean and just don t want to make a statement. I would appreciate if Chanel upgraded its tenacity and sillage. Overall very nice white floral with weak performance.

Nataliemarie

A TRUE Love for 10 years now! If this is too green, or you just want to dress it up, add something! For whatever reason, a few years ago,, I had sprayed this on, & a little while later sprayed on Versace Red Jeans, as I headed out the door. I mix MOST days, randomly. I was stopped TWICE in the store & asked what I was wearing, I even wrote it down for one lady! The most unlikely things just click sometimes. Jo Malone tries to sell you more than one bottle of perfume at a time by selling you on this aspect at their counter. Truth is, mix what you want. Their marketing strategy was to just be the first ones to tell you to DO this!

JustSimpleThings

I was disappointed in this one, I expected to love it based on the notes but the actual thing was very different from what I expected!

On me, this is a very balsamic, aromatic fragrance. It almost feels like a yellow floral, if that makes sense - that velvetiness is there.

Coupled with the citrus notes, it felt like a citrusy, herby balm on my skin, that's the only way I can describe it. It doesn't feel refreshing to me, I would only wear this in spring, definitely not summer.

I prefer Chanel Chance Eau Fraiché when it comes to green summery Chanel scents. Unfortunately both this one and that one suffer from longevity issues, as many have noted. This lasts 2-3 hours on my skin.

LadyIva

This is a very nice scent, although quite overpriced. It doesn't really resemble the original Chanel Cristalle, which is dominated by an awful synthetic peach. Here, the dominant notes are initially lemon, bergamot and white flowers, but as the scent settles on the skin, it becomes sweeter and the powdery iris and sugar-coated musk step forward. Although this transformation is quite surprising, it is nicely done, and the overall vibe remains very pleasant and uncomplicated. Think of this as a cologne, rather than a proper EDT. If it were cheaper, I'd buy it in the blink of an eye; but since it has a Chanel price tag, I'll stay loyal to my humble old Yves Rocher The Vert, which is very similar to Cristalle Eau Verte.

Jmalone84

Mmm Orange peels...

Citrus peel, aromatic and white flower fresh. Very pleasant indeed.

louiee

A pleasant every day wear for spring and summer.
Crisp, fresh, clean and uplifting.
Citrus, musky, flowery and a bit of powdery iris.
This is a like not love.
Its for days with sunshine, light summerdresses and high spirits.
Silage is soft and longevity is about average.
Chanel Cristalle you lift my mood and lighten up my mornings.

MLK

I love the original Cristalle EDP so it took me a while to really get to know this lighter, fresher version but I’m so glad I persevered because I now also love this fragrance too. Cristalle edp will always be my number one, however, I have a real appreciation for eau verte, especially on a hot, humid day, this is the one fragrance to make you feel refreshed and is easy to wear. I’m so glad to have in my collection, another beautiful Chanel fragrance.

judithbwalsh

To me this is just the most beautiful perfume ever I just love it, it is so fresh and sharp I just love love love it.

elisa.fuentes

It was far more intense 3 years ago. Missing quality... as all are ... pity.

PastelMoon

Confident, clean and quietly luxurious, just the way I like my fragrances to be. It conveys the idea of crisp green tranquility that is balanced to a degree but not without the character, perhaps eve with an unique streak. It is like Mugler cologne mixed with Hermes Narcisse Bleu with something rather Prada like, some other favourites that I really do enjoy a lot.

It is a definition of subtle elegance, rather laid back due to immense confidence it radiates, yet just as professional as colognes go. Fits many settings and has a lot to offer to a right wearer.

Citrus sparkling green white floral with some dry clean musk and iris.

raiza1990

This smells like a powdery bar of soap on my skin. I gave it to my mother-in-law. If you, like her, are a fan of Chanel fragrances, you will like this, because it has that distinctive Chanel DNA. I am not a fan of Chanel fragrances, they are too soapy for me. I am glad i could give it to someone who will enjoy it.

Annemarie

Not a fan. Cristalle Eau Verte is very green and grassy on me. I don't get much else. Something in there reminds me of a synthetic mint accord which is not nasty but not great either. Dull and persistent, CEV nags its way into my brain saying the same thing over and over, like your mother reminding you to clean your teeth. I'd take one bottle of No 19 EDT over 100 of this.

damienthoresson

Wow. Not what I was expecting at all. I saw the citrus, but was optimistic that it was a bit more. Alas, it's not really. It's modern, fresh and green. Floral? Not really. Mossy? Heck no. It's still very Chanel, though. Cold, distant and unsettling. As a man, I feel this is definitely a feminine freshie. Cristalle for the younger crowd? Eh, not really. Anyone with confidence can pull it off. More like an Eau de Cologne than anything, though. I like it enough and would happily accept it as a gift, but I'd never buy it.

Edit: it really does smell of grass though. I love that

Cristalle Eau Verte is a very contemporary, chic and natural scent. Despite its naming as green water, Cristalle Eau Verte is nowhere near a sharp green scent, but rather relies on lemon and bergamot with a following combination of nondescript jasmine and magnolia in the mix. Neroli s also noticeable in this citrus-floral perfume. Sheer, cologne-like and thus genderless, youthful, clean and sunny, it reminds you of a relaxing vacation. Needless to say it's a classic choice in spring and summer. Carefree and soothing. Also, sensual.

In a blind test I would have never thought it's a flanker of Cristalle, although I know Cristalle very well, so Cristalle Eau Verte stands alone. Also I wonder why nobody hasn't commented on the sprayer! It's hands down the best sprayer in perfume bottle I've ever encountered; it distributes the perfume in the widest way possible, with only two sprays my whole neck was covered with the scent.

Lastly, all those females who find Chanel perfumes as granny/old lady style ( I hate these terms, but let's be real, that's how they characterize them) should really give Cristalle Eau Verte a chance, it surpasses Gabrielle in my opinion and 5 L'eau, both in execution and longevity, and it's youthful without being cheap-tacky-fruity as countless newer perfume offerings for young women

Sillage is very good in the beginning. After two hours it sits closer to the skin and survives for at least five hours.

Pandarapt

“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming” Neruda.

Imagine someone trimmed away all the flowers on Earth during one spring morning and left only aromatic foliage, crushed leaves, wet grass, cut stems and lemon trees. Foliage, herbage and leafage come together to sing under the shade of the tree trunks and a misty breeze carries that green bite. You sit under one of those lemon trees and you pick one of the leaves and rub it between your fingers, you collect recently cutted iris stems, green milky sap tingles your nose. Holly Chlorophyll, Batman.

Conjuring a garden in full spring glory without the predictable overdosage of florals is hard enough, but done in a way that is transparently synthetic and still managing to convey a believable feel of botanical hyper-realism is a bit of a feat. A garden without a hint of dirt or earthiness, of course, this is a Chanel after all.

Less sharp than Balmain’s Vent Vert, less diaphanous than Bel Respiro and more casual than No. 19. If you like that typical elusive class and cold feel of a Chanel, you’re in a bucolic mood but you want to steer away from the flower-braided pastoral cliches and well-kept gardens, I highly recommend this to you.

Mas777

A refreshing fragrance. And I love magnolia along with citruses. But my great love will always be Cristalle EDT, more sophisticated and less sweet. But it's my opinion...

dnque

I don't like the 'tea tree (oil)' kind of smell I get from this perfume.

G. Eriksen

Had it - miss it - want it - love it ❤️

celia46

I think this fragrance it's the perfect representation of being optimistic without being idiotic. Intelligence, experience, beauty and sensuousness are the adjectives that come to my mind when I smell it.

redskyatnight

I expected Cristalle Eau Verte to be straight-up citrus and somewhat reminiscent of Cristalle, but it's surprisingly creamy and quite different from Cristalle. In addition to the expected citruses and a bit of magnolia, I do think I get banana-like ylang-ylang and even a hint of spice, making it like a tropical cocktail. I wish it had more sillage, but I'm happy with it nonetheless. One of the very few green scents I will wear. Love!

judybikmeit

As most citrus type perfumes. This one also turns masculine on my skin. Not exactly what I was hoping for as I expected more "creaminess" due to the musk. But all I have is just freshness! Which is not bad right? But why does it give me slight headache? Anyway, it does have a vintage-y vibe. Like all the other comments, id have to agree that it is faint but when you twist here and there, you can definitely smell it. I have Bel Respiro and I bought this coz i love Bel Respiro and i saw lots of comments saying this smells like BR but they totally smell different! same genre being fresh, green perfume but id prefer BR in a heartbeat! Overall, not bad. But ill not repurchase.

Shwets

My predictions for this fragrance was so different from what i had read and expected.

It starts off very sparkling sweet lime like - almost like a lime cake (not that ive ever had one)! Its got a wonderful feminine cologne scent unlike many that turn too masculine on me.

The dry down reminds me of the green tea like fragrances but Chanel's is superior in quality. It lasts all day on my skin and i still get wafts hours later. It then hit me that i am getting the back bone of Eau Premiere in this with the green notes.

A really lovely refreshing fragrance.

JackieM

While the votes indicate that this one is similar to Chanel Bel Respiro, I would say that to me it is more similar to the Eau de Cologne from the Exclusifs line. Ultimately, the Eau de Cologne feels more modern and wearable. There is initially an edge of sour or BO when I spray that Cristalle Eau Verte on. Having said that, I'm not always totally against the BO smell lolll. Still, I thought whatever that edge was would make this one last longer. It barely outlasted the fairly weak Eau de Cologne.

Despite it's eventual freshness, thus distance from the "old lady smell" stereotype (a ridiculous one for the record) I would have to admit that Eau Verte ultimately is more for the mature woman where Eau de Cologne is probably more appealing to the millennial. But those are only broad associations and really anyone is fair game to make anything work :)

frag-overdose

Eau Verte has the cologne like freshness where its citrus accord takes control, not up to the point of where it dominates the entire composition but goes hand in hand so wonderfully well, thus giving the so-called zen quality and depth to it. Bracing green, subtly floral and a a whisper of powdery notes, evokes the sense of wellbeing, so calm and serene.

Eau Verte may not have a loud projection like EDP, yet it has a rather surprising longevity. On my skin, it stays for almost 7 to 8 hours.

Kanz Oman

This is a combination of all lemon types that would come to mind. Apart from the notes mentioned, I get mix of lemon grass, lemon tree, & TEA.
This can be a bit similar to the freshness of Givenchy Ange Ou Demon Le Secret without the fruity note.
Overall i love this cristalle eau verte that i don't mind wearing it any day of any season, just makes me feel so fresh & energetic in a classic way.

annaorlovaspace

Zara Zen Garden smells exactly like this, but less longevity.

carpp79

Very very very similar to bel respiro, which I had a few years ago. I expected cristale eau verte concentre, due to the word "concentre", was more concentrated and intense than actually is, but is good anyway, I have no complains about it. Obviously excelent for summer. Great.

macadamia.1

Perfect for spring and summer....my favorite!!!So fresh,so clean,so beauty....make me feel special!

woodlandwalk

I like original Cristalle edt, so as I also like citrus perfumes I thought this would suit me, but I find it a bit nothingy - the citrus opening is fresh and pleasant, but nothing new, then it dries down to slightly mushroomy, vague clean white floral notes.

I'm glad if it pleases other people, and it's just one of those subjective things, but where Cristalle edt has this lovely, low key sparkle, like dew drops on moss, this version doesn't stir my soul.

Very light indeed, best suited to hot days

SandrineBurdett

I loove it, is My favourite, green, chic, classic and fresh!!!!!

Black_Swan

If you're looking for something super fresh but complex, sophisticated and classy as well, this is it!

Nataliemarie

One of my HG Perfumes! I enjoy mixing this also. Very fresh, very green fragrance. Lasts forever on my clothes, nothing ever lasts on my skin. Others can smell it, although you think it's faint. It is light, but it does project & people love it~ Great find, one I had never heard of & I sprayed it in Nordstrom one day, & could not stop smelling my shirt. Even the next day when I picked it up & sniffed. So I was off to buy it, & loved it ever since!

pammbw

Smelled this in Nordstrom today and my 20 year old daughter said it smells like her C.o. Bigelow Lemon and Orange Blossom #1807. Sadly discontinued and not even in the Fragrantica database so I cannot compare notes. If anyone has both and can comment on the similarities please do.

Arlene-Beatrix

Intense citrus scent. It is vibrating like crazy to my nose, but I like it though. It's very elegant, typical classic Chanel scent. If you like lemon scent very much, it is a must have for you.

no-fi

Sparkling citrus atop a synthetic musk base. File under 'Nothing to See Here.'

spinderella

First time I tested it on my wrist I didn't like it at all. It reminded me of detergent. Yuck. But later I bought a bottle anyway (my first perfume was cristalle edp, so for sentimental reasons I wanted her little sister to join the club), and I have to admit, she grew on me. The lime-like freshness is lovely on a hot summerday. So try, and try again :-)

Antares811

Gorgeous floral fragrance, perfect for warmer months but if you love, like me, fresh and elegant scents, this is perfect all year round.
Extremely classy.
Stunning.

seastar5

Gorgeous. A light scent for spring/summer, very citrus. I do get the lime and grapefruit listed in the notes, very pungent at first and then dissipating into a softer feel, which may be the "green magnolia" others have mentioned. Lovely dry down. Fairly long lasting for a light scent and does not trigger my allergies. I plan to buy it for spring wear.

nordhaul

There is nO "modern interpretation"
of the original Cristalle perfume, bc
the original Cristalle perfume is just
TIMELESS. It IS modern. This here
this "version"... has nOthing to do
with mY Masterpiece Cristalle. & I
even tried to like it, spent a whole
day with it. It's just gross. Maybe
if it weren't a Chanel I wouldn't be
sO harsh in mY review. But it is a
Chanel. Smells like a Lancome or
some American unisex. ...Peace...

suhaesa

i am reviewing this from a scent profile point of view ..merely by smelling it on the perfume cap and a blotter and palm skin .. although i did buy it but it doesn't sit quite well on my skin.. not because of the perfume.. but my skin chemistry doesn't go well with such accords ..i was craving a clean.. citrusy.. summer perfume.. i found everything in this ...i thought i found my summer holly grail... i love how it smells in the air.. and when i initially spray it..
one of the cleanest most refined citrucy almost astirgent accords... so well balanced ..full.. vibrant.. almost zesty.. with different facets.. and accords.. that meld together as one.. bergemont lemon and the white florals with the hint of iris sing together a medley of joyous summer accords ..its a potion to combat summer heat ..its a cooling ..crisp ..perfume ..with an edge.. with a personality.. with elegance.. and vibrance.. and class..
when i first spray it is like an old fashioned citruce colone ..a minute or 2 later the fine light alchol evaporates ..leaving way to the top notes.. of the citruces the bergemont the lemon.. then the white florals the iris hits in slowly.. transforming it to a more subtle.. beautiful ..refined.. almost sweet in the least detectable ways.. it turns in to a clean.. cloudy ..vibe of heavenly wispy.. fluffy ..almost to the freezing point accords..it smells cold in a warm way.. it smells like being in a high oxygen purified air lab.. that white crisp.. clean.. utterly modern.. and futuristic.. cool lab air.. it has this scent of light green almost like cut grass vibe.. but very subtle.. it has an amazing refreshing.. anti naucious side to it.. before the white florals kick in.. and the indoles heat up.. after an houre or so in heat i smell a different green floral.. but that just me and my skin chemistry.. so i try to spray it on clothes only..
what can i say it is by jacues polge ..i think thats more than enough.. to add the finesse.. refinement.. and utter wispiness that comes out of a bottle.. its like spraying a clean shower fresh feel right out of a bottle...it does smell like a spa a 7 star spa a well being health refined Swiss lab..
it also has a very modern yet classy elegant strong confident vibe.. it feels like it can be worn by a self confident ..well achieved and stubborn woman ..who doesn't care about the world around her ..who is her in all her thoughts and being and she knows her worth...
its not easy to have a citruce perfume that lasts.. and this does last quite well for a citruce perfume.. its all almost made of top and middle notes.. which makes it feel like star dust.. the entire time you wear it.. the molecules literally feel lie they are dancing in thin utterlly clean o2 infused air.. vibrant and wispy just as the name suggests.. Crystal is a purely Crystaly perfume but not a solid one piece of rigid Crystal ..its a lucid crystal.. a bubbly champagne like ..silvery.. partaly green citrucy.. crystaly medley of vibrance and elegance

This fragrance was released in 2009, as a modern interpretation of the classic Cristalle perfume, from 1974. Some specialized websites consider it a successor of the latter, but the truth is that the original perfume didn't stop being produced and is still found on sale in some countries, both in EDT and EDP versions. Therefore, I will treat it as a variant (or flanker) and not as a successor.

The concept of the creation of Cristalle Eau Verte revolves around Gabrielle Chanel's taste for life in the outdoors and her natural yet sophisticated femininity. While in the classic (from 1974) the fragrance was conceived on chypre accords, besides exploring nuances of jasmine, this time everything revolves around the Magnolia. Notes of bergamot and Amalfi lemon head the olfactory pyramid, followed by notes of neroli and Magnolia, which pulsate as the heart of the fragrance, over a floral base with notes of absolute of jasmine and lily (IRIS pallida).

The result is a floral-fresh scent, full of citrus nuances, which were obtained from raw materials of high quality. Many people who have experienced Cristalle Eau Verte claimed they would never imagine that is a Chanel and I understand the reason: the original version is lush and ends with nuances of moss and vetiver. This one does not bring the chypre DNA and, for this reason, disappointed who hoped for a "green" version of the previous.

This fragrance is more similar to fresh and smooth creations made by Lancôme's House, for example. But that doesn't make it bad in any sense, after all, we're talking about a perfume with Chanel's surname and with the signature of Jacques Polge. It's just another case of expectation vs. reality.

One of the positive points is that, although conceived for the female audience, it is an extremely shareable fragrance. On the skin, it behaves in a simple and smooth manner, with a strong output of citrus fruit, which turns into a kind of sour smell over time. At this moment, I remembered the scent of Eau Torride, made by Givenchy. Quickly, the magnolia comes and lasts for a while, when it is possible to notice that we've reached the end of the evolutionary journey, with a milky and even more floral base, although still pretty discreet. At this point, you will only feel the scent if you sniff the location applied.

Cristalle Eau Verte is sold as an Eau de Toilette Concentrée, but has weak projection, although the lasting is not the worst since it lasted more than six hours on my skin. And the bottle brings the default visual of the classic scents of the House.
In short: it is a refreshing and unisex scent, very pleasant and perfect for hot days. But I personally don't think it's worth the price charged.

GinWeed

Tried it on my hand and it lasted for 30 minutes in total. The opening was strong and sour and it really promised well. Then it softened and became really dreamy, exactly how I like it. I thought I had found something incredible, but then it just faded away. Quickly, disappeared in 5 minutes. Chanel you could show us something better. Price-quality relationship is so unfair. Sadly for you I'm not just paying for the Chanel logo.

Miss LaCreevy

It's refreshing, and enjoyable. But you can have it cheaper: Hema Eau de Cologne.

Eivi

This scent is very simple, but I think that's what makes this one so beautiful. I just love those fresh citruses that get a bit bitter as they dry down. It lasts forever on my skin (okay, 20+ hours but I think it's forever in fragrances' world, haha).

ellina1984

This is indeed gorgeous. A burst of cologne-like lemon at the top, then a ghost of jasmine and a green aura, very elegant, very clean and fresh, but still exuding a warm feeling. However, longevity is a complete joke. AI sprayed twice on the back of my hand and after half an hour the scent was so faint that I might as well have washed my hands with a great hand soap. Such a pity to create such a beautiful scent with such pitiful intensity and longevity.

hellok

Very, very green and citrusy. Almost overwhelmingly so. I was surprised to smell this kind of a scent from Chanel as most of the other Chanel fragrances have a distinctly "Oh this is Chanel" smell. It's rather sharp.

PennGent~

~ I was very fortunate to find this one mixed in with a giveaway box of Men's Chanel samples and as I enjoy all scents (no label need apply) I have sampled/worn it enough now to give it a man's perspective. This bright citrus scent takes the chill off as I write this in the cold of January as it clearly is a warm weather scent. The lemon~aid like opening is sharp but not unpleasant almost candy like? As it dries down any sharpness fades and the citrus and bergamot blends nicely with the white florals into a soft sweet tame "blanket on the beach" for your skin. The more I wear it the more I find this is yet another example of a "unisex trapped behind a woman's label." I would definitely wear this fresh, lemony linen scent to beat the heat come this Summer!
Kind Regards, Plat ~

Molko

Finally I found a real great fresh citrusy but not so acquatic scent for hot weather. The keyword in this composition is the simplycity. It's perfect for everyday, for office, in formal situations or just walking/shopping. Not girly, not sweet, not too mature, not too sporty, not too feminine, not just for women, consequently simple perfect.
The price is high, but...it's Chanel:)
Sillage is moderate, but lasts long time.
10/10 for sure

promaya

I have never really liked Chanel perfumes much and, when I tried this one, I thought it was going to be a bingo. But, it wasn't. The opening promises an entirely different perfume from what you get after only an hour.
It seemed like a simple, citrusy fragrance, easy to wear and fall in love with but then lotus and neroli started to emerge and take command. The transformation is unbelievable.
Even after 5 hours, I don't think I can eliminate the smell of lotus and recognise the base notes. It's not the kind of smell that makes you feel sick, but it is the kind of smell that makes you want to run away after awhile. it just doesn't settle down- it remains too intense for too long.
Something that look so promising in the beginning, turns into a fragrance with a mistake if you ask me. Even citrus doesn't smell like citrus after some time but rather like citrus zest.
I'd never buy it! I could wear lotus essential oil if I wanted to smell like this.

WildDove

Cristalle eau Verte is a fresh floral, however the magnolia can take over to make this fragrance heady, cloying, and unwearable. Test repeatedly to a final drydown before purchasing.

Lucy Peach

This was a summer favourite for me this year. Light and refreshing, especially on a warm day. Much fresher and crisp than the original Cristalle which was my first ever perfume as a teenager. I love it. I also love Eau Premiere which I find is quite similar in the beginning. Gorgeous. Timeless.

Peta22

While I'm a total 'vanilla-holic' in winter, I love bright, fresh, green fragrances in Summer and the last couple of years have seen me using Cristalle Eau Verte and Chance Eau Fraiche a lot! I think Cristalle EV may just be winning out :) It's lemon, lime, slightly florally and just a touch of sweetness. It's never overpowering but lasts quite well on me for a green fragrance (3-4hrs). I will continue to enjoy this fragrance next summer although my search for the perfect - and lasting - summer fragrance continues.

Light_Blue

I got the sample. Very fresh, very green, but nothing special though. Too much lemon for my taste.

Sylvie-Aus

It must be one of my favorite of Chanel ! Strangely, I agree with Lana148, as this fragrance is not a typical Chanel. But for me it had the opposite effect, it was / is a good surprise . I would not call it generic, but I would call it "FINALLY CHANEL" expends their creations to meet our "generation". I am one of manny whom would stay away from Chanel fragrances, way too BIG. I did use in early 80's Chanel 19 but only the deodorant , which was potent enough !

Lana148

Cristalle Eau Verte is a disappointment for me. I think it is very generic and ordinary citrus-floral scent. No originality, no lasting power. It has nothing in common with the original Cristalle. I have no idea why Chanel would put their name on it.

birdy

all i hade is lemon and jasmine. very light fragrance not very fresh because of the note very creamy of jasmine. no relationship with cristalle that is very fresh very green very nature.

aqua76239

I got a sample of it the other day-its very fresh, and citrusy. Any floral notes are very soft and sort of in the background, and citrus takes the center stage here. To me this doesn't smell anything like original Cristalle which is VERY green and herbal. This is more like a distant cousin I guess. I do like it quite a bit although lasting power leaves a lot to be desired. But that seem to be the case for most citrus scents nowdays. I like it well enough to consider buying a bottle. Sadly I was told that there is no body products available in that one which I would have loved to have :(

cecfor

This is my second review on this.
This jewel has become one of my absolute summerfavs. In warm weather it is my perfect scent. It is clean, fresh and the base has a great stayingpower on me. The base also has a cozy twitch which makes it interesting and not just showerclean. There is a hint of classic perfume feeling in the base in perfect amount. If I could choose only one for summer this would be it.

klmckendry

An ordinary citrus scent. Nothing special, unique, exciting. Unless you're addicted to lemons.

Honestly, imagine they made 100 samples of this, have 50 ppl get one labelled 'Chanel', & the other 50 labelled something boring or tacky like 'Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian or Avon'. Then got those ppl to rate it.. Only the ones with the fancy 'Chanel' labelling would rate it as this fantastic, wonderful 'omg I love it' fragrance.

Don't get me wrong, it's not awful. I would happily pay $2 to have it on some cardboard dangling from my rear view mirror.

samlovefragrance

I have a longevity and sillage problem with most chanels EXCEPT cristalle eau verte!!! FIX THE VOTES PEOPLE!

cristalle eau verte is one underrated GEM. citrusy, green but not bitter and chypre-ish, but fresh and uplifting. Its the best green zesty and juicy lemon and bergamot scent with an aromatic magnolia heart. when i finished my bottle i thought ill replace with chance eau fraiche but tried it a the couter and it doesnt have the lighthearted feel and crispy freshness of eau verte.

lasts longer than any summer fragrance i own. so big like:)

scent: 7+/10
longevity: 6/10
sillage: 5/10

Houdini4

I absolutely love this!
Contrary to most peoples thoughts (judging by the reviews here) I actually think Cristalle eau verte is quite complex. Starts out with a refreshing blast of bergamot and lemony citruses, the clean strength and lasting power of neroli. It then becomes quite green and fresh to me, I also swear I get a hit of black pepper...seriously I do, although no such spiciness or seasoning is present. A base of musk which is present throughout the entire transition finishes off this fragrance.
This oozes Chanel class and for me could easily be a unisex fragrance, I wouldn't bat an eyelid about wearing it. I love how different this is to the original which is too bold and old Skool feminine for my tastes.
I may well get this for summer.

xrayer

I tried this today alongside Chanel Cristalle EDT (that one smells exactly like Diorella to me). I absolutely love the zingy lemon opening of this which then mellowed to a slightly sweet citrus, my husband hugged me and said hmmmm you smell like soap. Unfortunately it was gone within two hours which was so disappointing, I loved the first hour of it, it's clean fresh and crisp without being too green - if only it lasted longer.

ginger68

Someone could say this fragrance is banal, simple.
Yes apparently.. Citrus, flowers, freshness, crispness. How much fresh fragrances can we try? So many and often very similar. I used and loved Cristalle. But I don't like modern fragrances by Chanel, just because they don't work on me and on my skin. And here an excepion.. Cristalle Eau Verte is really beautiful, feminine, elegant. I tried Escale a Parati by Dior and said it's elegant, now I say it's unisex. Cristalle Eau Verte is much more happy than the other one. It makes me smile and feel confident and bright.
Maybe it is not a memorable masterpiece, but you will never fail with this shining fragrance. Good job Mr. Polge!

ScarlettX

I chose to try this because of the message I got here in fragrantica about citrus scents.
I must say this is another beautiful composition of citruses and flowers by Chanel.
Elegant, fresh and full of citrus and greenness. Just how I like them.
It's crystal clear. It has a little spice and might seem sharp, but not in an annoying way. At least not for me.
I know they are not so similar but Chanel chance eau fraiche and this one have some things in common and I would choose Chanel Chance eau fraiche over this one.
(Both are green and citrusy, this one here is sharper than Chanel Chance eau fraiche.)

AmusedMuse

Absolutely gorgeously fresh lemony green floral. I cannot wait until Spring so I can wear this daily! Perhaps Audrey Hepburn would wear this with slim capris, big sunglasses, and a crisp white shirt while playing a round of croquet :) It's light but with good staying power, and I cannot imagine anyone ever being offended by it.

mluckyg

This is green floral with lots of citrus. Sharp citrus smell like lemonade, magnolia and a little neroli. I don't think I will wear this one often, have to be in the mood and sometimes it could be too green or too citrusy.

evacecilias

This starts very nice, pretty sharp but green and lovely lemons with a touch of neroli. I really like the green juicy opening !
The magnolia tones it down a bit and I wonder where did it go...I almost get the liquide lemon napkin smell but it wears of and starts all over again when the iris makes it special again, as I was almost loosing fate in it..
It gets slightly woody mossy at dry down but manages to keep the fresh spirit all the way..
I have fresh perfumes I love that are in the same chategory that I enjoy more so I won't go for full bottle.
I will stick to my sample and use that - thanks someone !
I guess I miss the fig from Versense and slightly deeper woodier touch I get from GAP established 1969.

magrathea17

looked forward to trying this, but unfortunately it doesn´t work with my chemistry or/and my taste..very sharp from the beginning - not giving me a headache, reminds me of a detergent.. now - after 3 hours - it´s completely gone...at such a price and brand I expected at least solid longevity

RZ

Well first it is NothinG like the old 70's version.... Opens with Citrus, not the sharp kind that gives you a headache , it has a sweet edge but not teenager sweet..... The dry down is the best part.... Close to skin Classy Powder Clean scent.... I an now getting a whiff from my white T-Shirt that i wore yesterday... Because Really Fresh frag have a tendency to smell Cheap this one is a Perfectly Classy exception for daywear

DivotDiva

I first tested this alongside Cristalle EdT and EdP. I think it has a slight resemblance to Cristalle as it has bitterness, but underlying that is the magnolia and jasmine. Longetivity of the Cristalle EdP was better but different notes. It is different than Cristalle but has similar quality and "feel".

I tested it again on a round of golf. This is where Eau Verte shines - it's perfect for outdoor activities on a hot day. If I wear something more floral, the bees will chase you around. Eau Verte was perfectly refreshing and did not offend my male playing partners. Nothing cloying about this one: pure freshness. Will have to save up some $ for a FB. Does not last long but made it through the round, so I spritzed on more later in the day. Drydown is very nice.

leushka

This was my wedding frag. Was July, 38C outside, really hot and dry day. Each time I sprayed me I felt like I had shower. Fresh, yet very ladylike scent. Usually I use it when I am on vacation. When I feel this Chanel I recall my happy summer days.

ScentedPianist

Cristalle Eau Verte... What a bright, classy, innocent perfume created by the famous house of Chanel!

Cristalle Eau Verte starts out with an incredible burst of energizing lemon and bergamot, which aren't too sweet but also not sour. It's so juicy! I feel like I'm drinking a refreshing lemonade!

It dries down to a neroli-jasmine combo, with floral and musky hints. Dries down beautifully, we can conclude. However, the main note is definitely the lemon, in the whole stages of this perfume.

The thing about Cristalle Eau Verte is, even being a totally citric and refreshing perfume, it does never lose the class Chanel has used us to. With this, you can wear it daily, being perfect for warmer weather, but also in the office, or even on special occasions, like a wedding.

It's not a very complex perfume, but it's something you appreciate for its quality and energy. It feels like a wake up in the morning.

Oh, and this one is definitely to be shared and enjoyed by both sexes; it would make a perfect citric fragrance, for both men and women alike.

If you're looking for a classy yet completely refreshing summer perfume, wheter you're a man or a woman, give this one a try.

Nickie

I find it very difficult to find scents for warmer weather; my chemistry doesn't seem to work with those traditionally related with summer. Cristalle Eau Vert seems to buck the trend... and about time!

The lemon and cushed Refresher (sweets) notes work well and don't turn sour on me as the temperatures soar. The silage isn't great, and the lasting power is worse, however I get round that by squirting (liberally!) on my clothes (which doesn't seem to stain, btw). I still have to top up every couple of hours, though.

Clarins' Eau Dynamisante is really my scent of choice for warmer days, but the longevity is poor. Enter Cristalle as a summer substitute, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs in the autumn/ winter. Watch this space...

kkw80

Just lots of lemons. Nothing else at all. The lemons are not particularly nice either. Original Cristalle is miles better, IMO.

ermin2trude

Oh. Well there's a blast of lemons and then more lemon and it continues on and on. Lemons. Smells very like l'occitane with the added delight of an expensive price tag followed up with a headache. I'm a huge fan of chanel perfumes. They smell expensive. They make me feel dressed. Except this one. It smells cheap and very one dimensional. Some perfumes don't suit my skin. White linen is one and on me, if I try very hard to get past the lemon blast, cristalle eau verte smells very similar to white linen.

cecfor

Like/love-review
This is a citrus that suits me very well. At first it is a bit sharp, like a detergent. But after about half an hour it starts to smell very fresh and soft on my skin. Just clean. I don't feel perfumed in this one. Just clean-smelling and that makes it very useable. It reminds me of green tea scent from EA at some point but this is so much better and classy, especially the drydown. It is much more expensive too though, surely. I want a FB of this refined subtle little one. My sample is running out.

sunnyinphilly

On my skin eau verte smells like a cheap green soap. Just awful!

A beautiful, contemporary yet uncomplicated Chanel fragrance, unfairly overlooked by many. While I appreciate the originality of Henri Robert's creation (Cristalle edt, 1974), I'm not a fan of it so I kept ignoring Eau Verte, thinking it must be a greener, tarter, colder version of the original. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. It's luminous and breezy like the verdant, fresh air of spring. (Aroussa mentioned fresh tulips and I coundn't agree with her more.) Although many other reviews have cited that it doesn’t seem at all related to the original fragrance, to my nose the drydown reveals the carefree, younger sibling of Cristalle. A wonderful, fresh, very wearable expression of a sring flower bouquet. My new spring favourite!

messier42

Ahh what a delightful scent. I find absolutely no relation to Chanel Cristalle. This is light and fresh in the opening, a little sharp but welcomely so. Within 30 mins the magnolia peeks out and makes a creamy entrance, but in a quiet understated manner. Then after a couple of hours, the delightful mix of citrus and florals warm to make a cocktail of sunshine. The perfect fresh floral mix, with a hint of sweet coming from somewhere?! not at all masculine. This will be mine!!! It's amazing.

Cams

Starts out fairly bright and then settles down into a soft but beautiful skin scent. Will be wonderful in the summer heat.

magda14012

It is a beauty. The lemon at the opening, fresh as if just picked from a branch ofthe tree. Crispy, green, lively and fun. Goes wonderfully with a classic white shirt and navy tailored trousers. Classic for higher temperatures

It is exquisite it is divine exuberant it is fabulous,!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this green Chanel trying to change other green Chanel - Chance eau fresh.
Today I opened the bottle because I wanted a clean scent on a hot day.
Recently, I have on the shelves more than ten bottles for use during the day and evening.
Some of them cause me a headache or just discomfort.
Today, I really enjoyed the new perfume. Very pure, solid and pleasant. Not flashy, not being witty, not seductive. Only classic and fresh.
I'm sure this Chanel bottle will run out quickly.

Susan_b

There is something about this one. As I'm typing, I'm smelling. It reminds me of Summer Sunday Brunch.

ladynaqua

This to me is less original than the original :) however, I like it more that the eau de perfume cristalle but not more that the old eau de toilette .. it is cleaner , fresher and easier to live with than the cristalle eau de perfume which gets too much for me at times , I can't easily live with heavy or overbearing scents although I love smelling them on other people .. so if you like green , fresh , clean perfumes try this one it reminds me of all the perfumes in this category but it has a character of its own .. good job chanel..

Londonchick

If you like soft pretty ultra feminine green florals ( surprisngly not many good ones around) get thee to a Chanel counter. Be greeted,
"welcome to Chanel",
"Errr... thanks"
after that palaver get spraying, lol. Im a v long term lover of "greens" but Im tiring of the sometimes too harsh, cold, unisex sharp vetiver basethey often open with. This is an exception, contains a tiny, welcome amount of sweetness. This is perfect, subtle, lovely for spring day wear. Sort of a strange combination of elegance and innocence. This is quite a calming scent, its not cold like many other greens are. The magnolia is creamy and adds a little watery feeling which I always enjoy. Downside is longevity isnt great. This is an inoffensive one, suitable for work environments. Could be a little more original in composition but good standby day fragrance.

100mlEDT

Chanel , Cristalle eau Vert 2009 by Jaques Polge. Introducing a ozonic citrus white floral. Retaining the original 'honeysuckle' accord and adding magnolia with abstract white flowers, 1974 classic Cristalle has been given a breath of fresh air. Announcing it greener and cleaner than the original. Standout note goes to sicilian lemon. Noticeably flaring on opening, quickly settling into a powdery green heart that wears fresh and cool, this to me feels perfect for summer.

CandyGirl18

It was a blind buy for me.i wanted it for a very long time.Very very dissapointed !!!!smells like cheap lemon soap! Not recommended!!!

wbp

Fresh and soapy. Nothing else for me. Sorry

ElleNell

Sophistication all the way with this one.
Clean and ultra chic. For the classic, elegant women.
One of my Fave Chanel's.

I never see this advertised though?

A truly wonderful scent! but you will not smell the magic immeadiately. This perfume needs time to grow into its complex perfection. A very nice job! Those who have nose will recognize this sohisticated beauty!

meligonlan

I adooooore this perfume. It's zesty, limey, fresh, luxe BUT the longevity is poor poor poor. I can't justify paying 100 Eur for it :(

Alicia Marie

This is my absolute favorite Chanel fragrance, and I did not like the original at all ( I wanted to after I read the notes but it just smelled like soil to me. Too earthy for my skin.) but I absolutely love every part of Cristalle eau Verte, from the top notes (green, crisp, and lemony with just the right amount of sweetness)to the heart (creamy and rich smelling florals) to the finish (a lightly floral musk). It's the perfect summer fragrance for me and I find it to be very modern and refreshing but still unique and classy, true to the Chanel brand. It's feminine but I find it to be dry and green enough that a man could even get away with wearing it. I absolutely love it, it's my favorite Chanel other than the Les Exclusifs Beige.

Necabel

En mi caso, pocos aromas que me gustan superan la prueba del verano. Este Eau Verte es uno de ellos. Es un aroma fresco, brillante, ideal para refrescarse con una chispa cítrica en momentos de mucho calor. Me ha gustado mucho.

***

In my case, I like few aromas that stand the test of the summer. This Eau Verte is one. It smelled fresh, bright, ideal for a refreshing citrus spark during times of high heat. I liked it.

Bklynlatinlady

It's ok, a fresh scent which I do like, but did not entice me to buy it at all. It's too citrusy for me at least, the lemon is overpowering. If it was lighter maybe. I rather the Cristalle Eau de Parfum.

Aroussa

Here I am again. Last summer I was singing the praises of this light and classy and feminine Chanel creation. I'm still with it this summer. Only I have discovered a new diminution to it: yesterday, I spritzer it on myself before leaving work. Then about 20 minutes passed... I got on the elevator with a colleague...she sniffed the air in the small little space of the elevator and said, "Mmm, fresh tulips!" I was amazed. Perhaps that's it, she nailed it. That elusive indescribable air to this Verte Cristall. Fresh tulips - I love it!

Patricia40

I love this, I didn't expect to love it so much. I love the lemon and especially the dry down it is more than refreshing, when I am wearing it I find myself inhaling deeply.

Soutty123

Finally, a green citrus perfume that I love! This is so sparkling and uplifting without being sharp. I think it's very feminine in a classy kind of way. Much more wearable for me than the original Cristalle which I love on others but which goes a bit musty on me somehow.

Perfect for really hot weather like we have in the UK for a change. If I lived in a hot climate I would wear this every day in summer. I feel clean, fresh, invigorated and happy.

violetta1975

very feminine and balanced fragrance. Soft, sharp and gorgious!

violetta1975

this is a wonderful scent! YOu cannot smell it in the beginning though because it develops slowly and lasts for ages. I even get compliments when I cannot smell anything on me anymore (after 8-10 hrs of aplying it. It is a very clean and amazing fragrance, i simply adore it. A bit too sharp in the first 10-15 min but what u get after is sweet paradise itself! :)

Jayne58

I dithered quite some time over whether to buy the original Cristalle or the Cristalle Eau Verte. Feeling quite the Philistine at turning my back on the classic, I opted for the newer, greener (yet friendlier) and more citrussy Eau Verte, simply because I found it the most appealing as a Summer refresher. The longevity is good. The opening is bright and astringent but the drydown is soft and slightly musky. The thing about this is that, as the top notes fade, I do not feel too sacriligious if I add other scents over the top - I particularly like to smear on a bit of Pacifica Malibu Lemon Blossom solid perfume, for an additional but different type of lift. I doubt that I would dare to do that with the original Cristalle - she'd have my guts for garters.

Razzamatazz

Well done, lemony fresh, playful, simplistic(in a good way though!)and a bit sharp.Feel like enjoying an ice cold mojito on a sizzling hot day..i get a bit of verbena too though it's not listed and sometimes it smells like green tea!kinda reminds me of the vert and citrus verbena by L`Occitane en Provence ;)

natalia.arcan

I'm in love with the so much magnolia smell in it! It does last soo long on my skin! Really in love <3

la tailleuse

Although I hate the smell of Cristalle from 1974, I love this parfume! It's fresh, green and last a long time with a nice subtlety. Just perfect for every ordinary day!

989jul

Nice, elegant, and fresh perfume. Smells better and stays longer during fall and winter.

leeyah87

Timetoski - Really? I still don't think so and I own both. Spring Fever has a fruity freshness in it from the watermelon note whereas Cristalle Eau Verte starts off with citrus and dries down to a soft, white floral. Cristalle Eau Verte lasts a little longer on me than Spring Fever, but both have decent longevity. Unfortunately, Spring Fever has been discontinued since 2009 and is quite expensive on eBay :o(

UPDATE: I am testing these side-by-side and I honestly do not think they are similar. Spring Fever has a juicy watermelon top with an earthy, grassy base. Cristalle Eau Verte has a citrusy opening with a soft, white floral base.

Timetoski

Well, i wasnt sure so I got a sample of this yesterday and have it on one hand and the Spring Fever on the other and they are so similar! Especially around the 15 min mark. Try it! (I bet the cheaper spring fever is longer lasting...)

JohnMc

Whilst searching for a Channel number to buy for my Mum's Christmas present today, I had the opportunity (and excuse) to sate my curiosity and smell a small selection of the amazing array of Women's fragrances by this behemoth of a fashion/fragrance house. I was taken aback by the unisex characteristics of Cristalle Aue Verte! This will definitely be on my wish list from hereon in - or even on the list for my girlfriend, for whom I would naturally have to buy it for! who says giving isn't fun?

ION

People who usually get headaches from fragrances, most likely will tolerate this one.
"Cristalle Eau Verte" is a mediocre version of (what I consider to be) a bad perfume.
Shame, as "Cristalle" has the heart of a very adaptable all day perfume once cleverly tweaked.
Consider this the female "Allure Homme Edition Blanche".
That's all really..

Eos

The opening is a nice fresh citrus but as it dries it gets less distinct, taking on a sweetish-musky character. I don't really get much oakmoss in this which is a shame really. On my skin this dried down to the scent of PEZ candy. Yes, that's right, PEZ. I couldn't figure out what it reminded me of, but my husband laughed himself silly when he smelled my wrist.

meisha

Smells like expensive lemon/oranges. Refreshing and reviving scent for spring and summer. Lasts all day. Hubby doesn't mind it!

AimeeSoui

Oh, I really love this fragrance as I love the original Crystalle. This is a soft, fresh, dry, green, very pleasent and elegant smell. Unfortunatly it does not last very long, so I need to touch up at least twice a day. On me this stays quite close to the skin and drydown is soft floral.

kathrinaaguir

I was given this a year ago, and I don't like it at all. I can't stop thinking people around me would believe I took a "lemonade shower", a little masculine for my nose.

leushka

To me it is a perfect summer fragrance. Very lemony at the beginning then it changes into lovely dry green smell suitable for hot summer or spring day. Love it!

orchid_84

Nice. It's a very light, lemony-fresh floral. It's not overly exciting or different though, and the staying power isn't great. I wouldn't be willing to pay the Chanel price tag for this fragrance.

LaPetite

Unlike its name may suggest , it is not green at all !
Don't know why , but i was sure there is verbena in this ! It smells like herbale tea to me . It is very pleasant , citrusy , but not sharp , it is quite calm and relaxing .
Very good daily/office scent , especially fo summer and spring.

Sassy1

I found the original Cristalle such a disappointment I was a little leary to try this flanker. But I decided to brave it out...

First spritz on skin, this is a bright juicy lemon. Not screechy like Trouble but refreshing and bracing. I sniffed this up for a few minutes and then horror of horrors, the dark green monster reared it's ugly head.

I thought oh no, here we go again, the awful dank mossy dreariness of regular Cristalle seemed to creep through and try to disrupt the citrus clarity.

But, just as quickly as it came it seemed to morph into whafts of mandarin tinged with jasmine and white flowers.

Very beautiful to behold!

marymargret

Very fresh, indeed, but I can’t detect lemon here, rather orange or clementine. It’s a bright and pleasant, mouth-watering sweet citrus, not sour and acid. And it’s last, a long time before turning into some innocent white flowers. The finish is pure and simple aquatic, light and somehow lacks strength. I’m disappointed. The name, “Eau verte” is misleading. I was expecting a real green fragrance, grassy and vigorous.

SUHAD

love it my favorite

Blissful80

I have had my eye on this fragrance since it first came out. I smelled it at nordstome and I loved it. I finally decided to get it. Its not cheap but I think it was worth every penny! WOW!!! I think this is a perfect fragrance to wear for summer! I sprayed my arm with it 2x when I got home. I was hit with a refreshing burst of lemon and bergamot, then honeysuckle accord and Jasmine, finally the most beautiful dry down of abstract white flowers and neroli. This has a long lasting flirty very flirty sexy smell. It reminds me of bvlgari crystalline very sheer and transparent, but they are a little different in their own little way. When you think it has worn off and you don't smell it anymore, people around you can still smell it. This is crazy, but I was standing around someone and this was hours after I applied cristalle verte, I sprayed it around my neck, well... I thought it was her, I told my friend wow you smell sooo good, she said Im not wearing any perfume she said that is you smelling good! I was really shocked because I was thinking like other reviewers on here, I cant smell it...I was really really happy to hear that! Its like freshly made lemonade in the summer time and a bouquet of freshly cut fragrant white flowers, I just love it, it smells good! I think this is going to be my summer scent and I will give it a little rest sometimes and wear bvlgari crystalline also! Really great for anytime wear and 25+ :D

Jannochka

Here is another one of my favorites. I like how zesty and citrusy it is at the very beginning which stays that way for quite some time. It’s almost like you squeeze a fresh lime juice. After an hour or so it turns into soft flowers. It’s a perfect spring/summer EDT.

FRAGRANZA

SOOOOO GOOOOOD! Who loves citrus should buy it! WONDERFUL, AWSOME, SUPERB. A real masterpiece.

kikiki

It's my ultimate day scent.
Fresh and lots of citrus. After a few hours I barely can smell it on myself but most often other people can. I get complimented a lot when I wear this (almost always by women).
Though it's EDT it actually lasts abit longer compared to other EDTs.

marthaelena

Eau verte (green water) Is an amazing fragrance that makes you feel happy. It is light, feminine and classy. Perfect for spring and summer. You can wear it to work or for a fun weekend! This is my current favorite fragrance and I wonder why I ovelooked it before. I have been looking for this perfect fragrance a few years, now.

Happyme2009

Lovely and refreshing, on my skin this comes out at lemon rind and bergamot, with very pale and indefinite flowers on the background, maybe some magnolia. No sweetness whatsoever to be found here, like a glass of unsweetened iced green tea with a large slice of lemon in it. It is probably the lightest Chanel I ever had, which is good for summer time. I like the original Cristalle, but the fact that this has no resemblance to that one doesn't bother me a bit. If I was to compare it to other fragrances, I would compare it to Hermes Concentre d'orange verte, and Dior Escale a Portofino, and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. This one is sort of in between those 3, with more dryness and more lemon peel. Not very "chanelish" in character, as it lacks complexity, but very very pleasant.
I got it in a swap, thank you Gillie, and I like it a lot, I can see myself drowsing in it in hot summer days! Actually I love it! A keeper for me!

Nada90

This fragrance is a mood lifting.. thing that change my mood.. it makes me happy.. i just got it 3 days ago and i am really happy that i got full sized bottle from this wonderful, cheerful fragrance. the opening has lotss of lemon and lime, but in a good way.. then i transfer into magnolia and jasmine with lemons.. very fresh scent.. it is a summer fragrance i tried it in winter and its not that good while in summer it's AMAZING..

pupici

I absolutely adore this fragrance. Everything about it makes me smile, it's just got that uplifting essence about it. Very fresh and light, reminds me of being carefree on those summer holidays with nothing to do but relax and enjoy having time to yourself and with friends and family.

eilismaireg

I would say that I prefer this to Cristalle, lacking the melancholy of the former. It's a lovely zingy citrus composition but I don't think at the end of the day I would fork out Chanel money on it. I prefer escale a Portofino to this as I think it has more of the desired meditteranean 'atmosphere'

possumke

What a joy it was to recently discover this beauty!!
You can truly smell the quality essences used in the blend. It is pure olfactory pleasure, sooooo refreshing, AMAZING!
Lasting power is only mediocre, but still worth the price ! ;)

Bebe70

Like a tree in bloom. Fresh, pleasant, clean, and energizing, at the same time.
I think it is a little better than classic Cristalle.

winx61

AveParfum

I enjoyed this fragrance very much. It is the wafting scent of lemon and lime blossoms carried by a summer breeze. While it is floral, it lives up to its promise of green, sparkling freshness. A wonderful choice for summer or spring.

When I go out to a bar, I frequently order gin & tonic with a twist. At first spritz, it smelled as though I'd spilled my cocktail all over my hand. The opening was extremely crisp, bubbly, citrusy, and boozy. I admit that sticking my nose too close to my hand gave me a bit of the gag reflex.

Over the course of 15 minutes, the booze note mostly faded away, leaving strong notes of lemon and lime. The white floral notes quietly crept in little by little. They were so soft and lovely I thought there could be some lemon blossom in the formula. Very charming fragrance.

Aroussa

I was here a couple of months ago going on about all that lemon and if I wanted a lemon smell I'd buy a real lemon... But I gave up soon after that and bought a 100 ml of this and can't stop pouring it on myself. It's just so comfortable, refreshing, soothing and still feminine enough. I was torn between Eau Verte and Hermes Eau De Marveille but Marveille has this woody note that is just too masculine. Cristall Verte is summer perfection.

uninco

This is how the happyness smells. Sparkling champagne in a crystal glasses. Spring, sun, delight. Love it!

jae

I'll keep this short and sweet. This is the most luxurious lemon drop fragrance that I've ever had the pleasure of encountering - AGAIN. I'm not sure what the difference was this time, but it was certainly pleasant. I can detect the magnolia with clarity (thanks to Creed's Love In White) and have become a fan of the note. This concoction is both sweet and sheer - with undeniable unisex potential. If Chanel No. 19 is best served in the Autumn/Winter, then Cristalle Eau Verte is definitely its Spring/Summer counterpart. I've fallen in love with this again and this time it's permanent. Chanel is now solidified and scheduled to enter my designer fragrance collection very soon - right next to Hermes.

melanie

I have finally come to this-Chanel Eau Verte is such a lovely summer fragrance that lifts my mood at the moment. Fragrant notes of lemon and bergamot are dominant, magnolia is barely felt and definitely not dominated by the fragrant composition. I may have emotional approach, I like Eau Verte with it's initial freshness, sparkling and crisp, so classy to me. Maybe I just liked this totally different concept, as opposed to the usual strong and lasting frags... when it comes to Chanel. While Cristalle was a bit serious and sharp green scent, Eau Verte radiates energy, somewhat resembles Dior, but without the bitter recognizable note so tipical for Dior.I think that one should not compare the "original" Cristalle, because these two fragrances are totally different.
Last year, when the Eau Verte came out there were bad comments, but who cares! I just love it!

Nicole79

......When the Spring arrives and the trees are in bloom ....ALL those small , scented white flowers ( Apple -tree) ....that's exactely how Cristalle eau Verte smells on me, plus the Lemon note which gives it that soury sensation !
Transparent, clear, clean, green, Cristalin ! as the name say it ....:)
Very nice !!! Spring in a bottle!🤍

sky hype

when i first smelled this perfume in Moscow stores i considered it to be a very simple scent, not sophisticated at all, especially for chanel house, plus the liquid dried down on my wrist in a very strange way: way too sticky, same as water-based perfume mists or smth like that, and after 30 min only a very very slight scent was there.. so i was a bit disappointed that i asked a friend to buy one for me in Paris.

But then i finally got my french present :)
SO GUYS I CAN SAY NOW I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG BOUT THIS PERFUME! Dunno if there's some unfair business taking place, but Chanel Cristalle you can find in Moscow stores really differs from the original! The bottle bought in Paris hides a very interesting scent inside: when you smell it the feeling you get is something like you are lying on the fresh grass field, drinking an oldfashioned homemade type of lemonade, not sparkling, but fizzy in a very natural way - because of the fresh citrus and lime leaves in it.

very nice, warm, not sweet, very natural and special! works in a dif.way with the different skin chemistry.

UPD. Neroli lovers - this one is for you!

sherapop

To my nose, Chanel CRISTALLE EAU VERTE is a citrus green fragrance. The florals are completely overwhelmed by the lemon and the bergamot in the opening, and the drydown seems light, fresh, and clean, like a small patch of just sprouted green grass.

This is a highly likeable lemon cologne-type edt, but nothing really new, and probably overpriced given the abundance of high quality citrus/green fragrances available for much less, some of which are also considerably more complex.

Don't get me wrong: CRISTALLE EAU VERTE is quite nice, and if I were independently wealthy--or dependently, for that matter!--such mundanities would never arise in my mind. But I'm not, so they do. (-:

Aroussa

There I go, complaining here about this being too lemony-limey, but a few days ago I saw they launched another, smaller, size, 50 ml! I got it, and am very happy! My friends smell the bergamot on me more than the lemons, and all I get are compliments. Overall, a very classy, pleasant and soothing scent, and it lasts for ages. Thank you Chanel!

SYDNEYGIRL

i finally gave in and just bought this amazing scent. everytime i would visit a department store i would spray some on, and the smell lingered for hours..so glad i got it! its lemony but then all i smell is the bergamot which sweetens the citrus...it makes me feel happy every time i wear it...very expensive, but thank you chanel.

meisha

A saleslady at the Chanel counter sprayed this on my wrist and I couldn't forget the wonderful fragrance for weeks and weeks. I chose this over the original Cristalle which smelled moldy and stuffy. CEV is so refreshing and uplifting specially on a cold rainy day. And what a surprise I could still smell it on me at the end of a long day. This is a lemony scent that doesn't smell cheap. I could also smell some faint bit of flowers later in the day. This is sepcial it's a keeper! Not offensive at all and hubby doesn't mind this. (He hates my Coco Chanel!)

Aroussa

Just too much lemon and lime. I adore lemon and lime, but only in beverages. If I want to smell a lemon, I'll get a real lemon to smell. Perfume should be more complex and intricate than that!

Jillzilla

Smells just like orange peels on me. Fresh and invigorating but not cold or crisp. I never knew I could buy a fragrance that would make me smell like orange peels! I just love it!

andrew85

this is another masterpiece from genius Jacques Polge... a very sophisticade green, fresh and lemony perfume, ideal for all ocasions.... awesome, delicious..`Please I want Chanel, to come up with a masculine fragance now, with an original name, i am tired of all the variations of Allures and other things they did in the last years...

tommy_girl

this is very very green!as every single other reviewers have mentioned it has so much lemon and lime.bergamot is dominant too.it starts with strong green notes with some hints of bitterness.I think it smells bitter because of too much lemon and green notes.
remember how Eau de Rochas or eau d'orange verte(hemres) smell?this one smells similar to them, but it's much more greener than all of them.
after some minutes it becomes milder.now I can smell flowers.though still I feel the refreshing lemon, the first bitterness is gone.it smells mild and fresh, without freezing at this level.
I think they name matches the perfumes exactly.if you omit hyacinth and melon from Cristalle and add more green notes, you'll have cristalle eau verte.of course the original scent is more feminine, but this one is more active.but at the same time it's not teenagery.it's a sport perfume for a mature woman who likes to smell freezingly fresh during summer.

missk

I agree entirely with the lemonade reference zvoncica made previously. Lemon is certainly a dominant note, however the note isn't sharp or sour, rather it's a sweetened, almost candy-like, softened lemon note.

Cristalle eau Verte is refreshing like a cool breeze on a beautiful Summer's day. The opening blend of lemon, bergamot and mandarin orange makes me long for home as it reminds me of my childhood, wandering through the fruit orchards which grew in my backyard and tasting and relishing the beautiful citrusy aromas that filled the air.

The drydown is only vaguely floral with subtle hints of jasmine and magnolia every now and then. For a fragrance that is mostly citrus, it is surprising how much I've warmed to this scent.

There are hardly any similarities between this fragrance and the original Cristalle. The original is much more green and sharp, whereas Cristalle eau Verte is much sweeter and softer.

I must say that I'm rather impressed by Chanel's Summer offerings, with this fragrance and Chance eau Fraiche being my favourites so far.

zvoncica

Lemonade is great refreshment during hot summer days. To mild the sour taste its good to add some sugar in. Strangely how it always reminds me of childhood, makes me feel peacefull, calm and rejuvenated.
And I think to myself: this is the right thing.

Cristalle eau Verte radiates with citrusy notes. Jasmine and magnolia make them softer, tender and likable. Perfect mix of sourness and sweetness, elegance and crisp.

Has great lasting power for a citrusy floral green. Wearable with every style, occasion and season. I recommend it to all the women and man.

Its fresh, natural, elemental, unadulterated, humble.

And I think to myself: this is the right thing.

liat

Oh, my! Some of the Chanel fragrances react poorly with my skin chemistry, but not this one!

Fresh, green and not too sweet in the bottle, it sweetens on my skin into a floral gentle clean scent. I put it on and went out for a walk in this hot and humid place and to my surprise, it only became better, deeper, more sensual. A great everyday fragrance for these summers.

MoietToi

This scent reminds me of my holiday in Denmark. Beacuse when I was walking around in a department store they had a gigantic Chanel section in the cosmetics department. It was there that I tried on Cristalle eau Verte. I think it's very crisp, fresh and lingering. Not to mention long lasting beacuse it stayed for almost 2 days on my skin. Let's compare to other Chanel perfumes. If No 5 is a classy and refined English Lady. No 19 is a beautiful and cool diva. Allure (EDP) a confident and bold siren. Then Eau Verte is a innocent and graceful ballerina. The reason for why I think so is beacuse the fragrance consists of many sheer, floating and light layers. Just like a ballerinas tutu.

iMaverick

This is love at first sniff! Abstract and crisp, and for the most part, somehow devoid of a gender distinction.

If you take the concept of reinterpretation of the original, to me it is taking the original's topnotes and doing away with the rest--pared down and simple, like a t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

Its topnotes sparkle of citrus and continues its way throughout the fragrance drydown. Its middle notes are a bit warmer, with an abstract floral heart of jasmine and magnolia. Its base finishes clean with mild woody notes and vetiver.

Overall it is not very green, at least not a grassy or leafy green like N°19, but more like a citrus floral green. It could've easily been a part of Chanel's Les Exclusifs collection. The longevity is excellent for a fresh scent. Easily unisex too.

To compare this with other fragrances, it would easily fit in with your bottles of Hermes fragrances created by Jean-Claude Ellena, and your Prada Infusions. Its transparence and freshness is unmistakable. I think it has a permanent place in Chanel's lineup.

If you were hoping for something like the original Cristalle, you're in for a let down.

HelloLovely27

Very crisp and clean. I get more citrus then floral at first. The floral come along a bit after. It would be lovely on a super hot day where you want to smell fresh and clean, yet feminine. If you were hot and tired and needed to have a boost this is the fragrance i would pick. It just feels weightless. Crystal clear! Yet its staying power is impressive for such a light sent. x
