I love this fragrance sooooo much!
Smell so classy, long-lasting, even it didn't project well but you will smell this scent from your skin all day!
This will last on your skin 10 hours plus

Great scent, the iris and cedar blend make for a great take on the "fancy men's iris" genre of fragrances, of which I'm generally a big fan. I love a lot of the Givenchy Gentleman line, and this certainly smells similar, especially to Gentleman Boisée. It also has beastly longevity and one of the most satisfying atomizers I've ever pressed.
The only real downsides of this scent are its limited versatility (though I think an elegant fragrance for formal occasions is necessary) and the hard-to-justify price tag.

If you are reading the reviews trying to compare Dior Homme Parfum with Dior Homme Intense without getting some testers, let me help you to decide since I got them both;
TLDR: Side by side, the DHI is more floral, bright, airy, powdery, lipstick unisex frag, while DHP is a rich, dark, creamy, woody, subtly sweet frag. I prefer DHP
First, I got DHI and didn't really like it. I saw the rave reviews on it and I was absolutely not understanding the hype. It smelled like someone shot a bottle of powder in my face, that mixed with the smell of lipstick I was disgusted. Instead of giving it away, I thought I'll hold onto it and let it steep over time with the air in it that was introduced when I sprayed it.
....9 months later, after spraying it less and not in front of me and actually being told by several women that I smelled really good without any prompts. I started dating this guy who liked spraying it (2-3 sprays) on himself and I slowly came around to it. When I first got it it was in the late spring, early summer and it was mid 70's outside. The aforementioned guy was spraying it on during the winter and at night.
I got the Dior Homme Parfum this week and let me tell you, it is waaaay better to me. Adding the orange in the opening, the subtle leather tones and the bit of oud has transformed the iris from a lipsticky (Iris is a prominent ingredient in lipstick) makeup bag, powder mess into a dark, rich, masculine forward statement.
Side by side, the DHI is more floral, bright, airy, powdery, lipstick unisex frag, while DHP is a rich, dark, creamy, woody, subtly sweet frag. Both of them project amazingly, and are 10+ hours, 24hours+ on clothes. If you wear them in the summer, never above 78F or in the daytime, or when doing physical activities where you are sweating. Spray no more than 3 sprays each elbow and 1 on the back of the neck.
DO NOT SPRAY DHP or DHI ON YOUR CHEST OR FRONT NECK. This projects way too much. This is a sillage monster and does not go away.
At discounters DHI 150ml 150.USD. DHP 100ml 170.USD

Hello wilam
Om3r_perfumes
Dior Homme intense is a very loved fragrance. I think it’s pretty decent. I really love iris, and this is iris done well. The notes I get from this is just the iris and cedar. Don’t really smell the other notes other than the lavender early on. But that isn’t a bad thing necessarily. Dior Homme is a very classy scent, perfect for work settings. The iris note also does make it wearable for date nights. I do think that the projection is weak tho. I can only smell it when I’m really close to it. Doesn’t project at an arms length distance. It probably lasts around 9 hours I would say. It’s alright for its price point, but I do think that there are greater alternatives. I would suggest to get the Givenchy Gentlemen reserve privee or the normal line which contains the iris scent. That’s wayy stronger in terms of projection in my opinion.
Scent: 8
Projection: 5

Great, classy, masculine in elegante way.
Sexy and sophisticated yet very versatile and mass appealing kind of scent.
Sounds lipsticky, woody, floral and charming with touch of chocolate nuances.
Longevity 8- 10 hour.
Project nicely.
The best way to wear this masterpiece is to be mature man with classy style.
I belive it's all year around except high heat.
T1br
Anybody got problems with longevity and projection wit this one? I have 2022 batch and it lasts maybe an hour and doesn't project at all with even 10 sprays.
MIKEMURF
Everyone should get their nose on this one. Deep , rich, thick, elegant and expensive smelling. Despite the high price I recommend this for your collection to have on hand for formal and elegant situations. Definitely a night or winter fragrance. Could be cloying in warm temperatures. Mostly masculine energy and couldn't imagine anyone disliking this
sntiago
woody earthy, powdery, creamy and soft floral. a very soft and beautiful perfume, a little shy, very elegant, doesn't scream cologne. I usually dislike powdery scents but this is just so wonderfully creamy and the powdery aspect, while noticeable, doesn't smell too much like makeup. I think this is definitely unisex, i tried this for my boyfriend but I fell in love with it instead and probably will be getting this. however this would absolutely bloom on a man. I am very picky with perfumes in general and I'm tasked with getting my boyfriend his fragrances. I dislike male perfumes that smell like aftershave and deodorant (not that they smell bad, it's just not something worth to spend money on). This doesn't smell like aftershave at all, it's a very unusual but beautiful and elegant scent profile for men but still recognizably manly if worn by a man. if I smelled this on a man I'd probably assume he's loaded and went to a swiss boarding school.

I think someone captured this scent by stating that it’s somewhat like “liquid heroine”, lol.
To me it’s actually quite strange to be honest. I don’t WANT to smell like lipstick, but something in my brain just go crazy whenever I smell this juice. Sometimes it’s kinda futile to resist my desire to splash some of this on. And then, seconds after I give in, my brain just go chala-la,- la la: Oh yes!
It’s super addictive stuff and while, as I said, I don’t really care to smell like lipstick, I somehow do anyway, and I’m just slipping into a magical wonderland where I’m just in a wonderful state of mind. Ohh, sweet and creamy iris! You’re just so adorable ❤️
I swear there must be something almost narcotic in this blend. It’s the only fragrance that have ever made me feel like this. I guess I should just come to accept that DHI and myself is just meant to be. Even though you’re really not my kind of fragrance, I always come back to you.
stardust_ziggy
I ran out of this and hadn’t gotten around to getting more. Got more a few days back…wow, it’s just so good. So sophisticated and elegant but masculine. Yeah, you have to be okay with iris as a main character but this stands the test of time. This is more for cooler weather but I wore just a few sprays anyway recently because it’s just too good.
_Addict
Maybe it'll grow on me but it's kind of meh. I get a slight floral from the lavender but it's mostly a powdery wood/earthy smell. The pear note is in there, mildly, can barely smell it amongst everything else. I'm also getting some sort of spice/pepper to it, also just slightly. It's definitely nice but it's not something I'd wear often, I don't get how this gets compliments to be honest but maybe I'm just too biased towards other smells. I find it very inoffensive, hard to dislike but nothing about it stands out to me.
Also, not really feminine at all in my opinion. I can only imagine men in suits and ties wearing this, no one else
spizul
opening to me is similar to le male le parfum while on the dry down it smells like born in roma intense, good longevity and projection with about 4-5 sprays, 8.5/10
amberaddict
Very feminine scent. The iris smells like my grandma’s house and the powder smells like makeup.
crlneria
Weirded out by reviews on here. Are people’s noses broken? lol… I’m confused with people describing it as overly powdery, lipsticky, feminine. This is indeed a very complex scent. What I get in the opening is a blast of everything all at once but the lavender and iris are particularly dominant… initially at least. The drydown is a different beast, and that’s why I love this one. It dries down pretty warm, rich, and woody. You can still catch whiffs of lavender and iris but they dial back a lot in the drydown. This is a no brainer for anyone like me that really loves masculine Iris-y scents. This one is not for every occasion though imo, it is best to be dressed up with it. Get it quick before it starts to get harder to find!
kimvalley picklewitch
Full of colors and shapes. Dense and rich but easy to wear. It's comfortable and puts out the perfect powder. I'm straight but when I smell it on a cute guy I wonder.
Azadak47
First time I tried it hardly lasted 2hours and I didn't get that lipstick iris smell I was quite disappointed I thought MY middle eastern CLONE ( wood intense maison asrar) was better and I just wasted £92,I was thinking of selling it on ebay and a week later I tried it again 🙃😳 IRIS BOMB 💨AND IT'S PROJECTION WAS BALISTIC and lasts al day, I now use it on special occasions. One of the best blended smoothest perfume outthere.
Jitzuhan
I hope someone notice the new formula code for this perfume. Formula code is 18048. Can someone describe the performance and scent of the latest batches? Previous formula code is 10950/A.
soap_
almost too beautiful to wear, as silly as that sounds. i think a fragrance this delicate and elegant requires an occasion to match that.
Ashok Kumar Chauhan
Sex oozes while spray on. Diors best creation. Luv the potion. You cant ignore it. Must have.
tinsky61
How is this Homme? It smells like powder, make-up, lipstick and Iris. I don't think this is even unisex (don't get me started on that term!). This is a straight feminine fragrance. Nice, but in no way a masculine. Not particularly intense either. It shares this DNA with Dior Homme that also requires 10 plus sprays. I have both but will not be replacing either when used. Maybe it's me?
Shiam
Incredibly nice, and high quality smelling! This smells very classy and i think less is more with this one to get the best possible scent cloud. It can be easily cloying if oversprayed because of how dense it is in it's smell.
Personally i do find this harder to wear than my other sweet/darker fragrances and i rarely reach for this.
I do love the smell tho and hopefully will reach for it more when i can.
kimvalley picklewitch
Thumbs up. Kind of a modernized, more playful Pour un Homme. It's fluffy, rich, comfortable, muskier as it goes, never heavy, and leaves a soft, dreamy trail. I used 50 MLS in a month.
velomozi
Wow
What a fragrance I have had this now for almost a year and i love it smells sexy masculine sweet and spicy perfect balance between them will defiantly repurchase

Its an incredible perfume if u know what u buy... This is skin scent doesn't projects but last 6 hours . It's perfect only for close circumstances.
I have an old 2016 bottle with almost10ml on it and projects like crazy. So for sure the new ones are worst.
Mitchell Hofmann
smells like a mix between skibidi rizz and kai cent gooning had notes of duke dencing edgeing i dont really get the baby gronk note even if its rizzing livvy dunne a solid 9.7/ ten if it had better mewing and was more rizzatile it would be the best looksmaxxing of all time
Drpakalupapito
i adore the scent so much however its just not usable since its projection is so bad nei one can smell even if they half a foot away
Kinotoko
Incredible fragrance, shame that 2024 batch needs 10 sprays to even smell it. Did 5 sprays and asked my gf if she smelled anything, she said no, came closer still no, only when she was right in front of my face did she say that maaybe she smells something.
lormp review is true.
lormp
smells nice, maybe a bit lipstick-y but that turns into a very creamy woody scent quickly.
projection is trash and anyone who’s says differently is lying or has a very old batch.
fajaruddinahmed
A true review. I bought this due to the hype in social media about Dior homme intense as a unique and one of the best perfume. My honest opinion about it is.
For the first 30 minutes, you do get a amazing unique smell which is attractive appealing, But after 30 minutes, it will turn into like Versace Eros EDT. I do not feel any difference between the Eros and Dior intense after 30 minutes.
This is my personal opinion on it, Other may have a different opinions, But mine is : Better get two bottles of Eros then one bottle of Dior Homme Intense.
KidaBear
Lovely floral scent for date nights, but probably not fitting for many other occasions
rayane_dd
Almost perfect really nice fragrance, it may be to strong for some people especially in hot weathers.
torres_jake
I still don't understand why people say this smells like VUI. VUI has a leathery, vanilla, and powdery scent, whereas DHI is more lipsticky with hints of cocoa. In my opinion, VUI is closer to Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir Parfum, while this fragrance resembles Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee, but without the whisky accord.
Both fragrances are great. You can have this one, DHI, and DHP in your collection because they aren't redundant.
This is one of my favorite fragrances, and I will definitely keep repurchasing it until it's discontinued.
Gaboich
Dont make the same mistake i did by buying both this and Valentino uomo intense. They are nearly identical but valentino one last longer and has better projection and is more wearable

Update:
I’ve changed my mind!
Initially I found this scent off putting due to its very lipsticky iris note. I sprayed it on at the fragrance store and I felt awkward wearing it on the train an hour later… BUT, wait there’s more to this fragrance than that! For some reason I started to smell it off of the jacket I wore when I tested it and it was so intoxicating! I just wanted to smell it some more!
Well, I went back to another perfumery and tested it once again, this time on both my wrists. It felt so good to wear it this other time around, but it kept on sending this lipstick whiffs every now and then, and it both bothered me, and intrigued me to no end.
There’s something just so incredibly alluring about the creamy iris… Anyways, The third time I went to try it on I just reasoned that why don’t I just add it to my collection already and get it over with!
I’m not sure how often I’ll end up wearing it so I went for a 50ml bottle, but this one definitely has its rightful place in my collection as it’s something very different from what else is in there. It’s a real cozy and sexy scent to my nose and one I’ll wear every so often for my own sense of well-being. This stuff is VERY addictive so if you don’t care to smell like lipstick you should definitely stay away from this fragrance all together, cause if you try it on, chances are that you’ll be hooked. Resistance is futile…
Delicious, and creamy iris done in the most beautiful way. The iris really shines at the heart of this scent. A truly stunning and pretty thing by Dior ❤️
Uniqueness: 10/10
Longevity: 8/10
Sillage: 6/10 (decent, but not beast mode)
Value for money: 9/10
Wearability: 3/10 (hard to wear)
Seasons: All, but summer. In the summer it’s gross!

Bought my first Homme Intense today. The batch I checked is 2 months and 26 days old. I am thinking of keeping it closed and in the dark for 6 months after my few sprays.
Man o man this is such a unique smell and so amazing. What a masterpiece indeed. Nothing comes close to this in my perfume collection or what I ever smelled.
So good. I will have to test it more when going out and see the longevity and projection.
All I know is the small wiffs coming to my nose from my forearm is amazing.
Smells like chalk, pencil scraps from sharpener and soft lavender with a touch of Iris on the dry down.
Can’t stop smelling my arm. Next level. Great job Christian Dior.
Cent is 10/10
alex456
bought this today from the shops and sprayed it on my wrist once using the tester. arrived home 5-6 hours and could still smell it on my wrist despite all the sweating during that period
the smell is simply amazing, its a masterpiece , i think only fragrance heads would have an idea about this perfume
im adamant, the general mass population wouldnt have heard of DHI
C.wheeler1024
After trying out Dior Homme Intense 2011, I realized it needs some time to settle. At first, it's pretty intense, but then it mellows into this nice mix of iris and woodiness. The only downside? Wearing it for a while gave me a headache. So, as much as I liked it, I'm not sure if I'd want to use it regularly.
cashyvidal
Skibidi fragrance. Out of my 17 perfumes this remains my favorite.
JJ2137
I like the scent, and the combination of iris with some fruity or chocolatey sweetness, but ultimately Armani Eau de Nuit will remain my go-to iris scent, smells even more elegant and romantic. It's discontinued, but if you find a bottle, give it a try.
FragrantFlores
This is probably Dior's best fragrance (excluding their private line) super elegant and manly, definitely one of the best designers ever made
skibidicologne
smells beasty and sigma little makeup smell but it gooooooood
VIOLENCE
I only got the 2ml sample so im not really that capable of rating the performance , but oh man this is a hard pass for me i just can not get trough the strong hospital like scent , it just reminds me of needles im sorry
SavageKing
I do enjoy this fragrance but I think Axe Phoenix is a tab bit better, the sillage could be better and the overall scent could just be better imo. Unlike Axe Phoenix this fragrance smells kind of childish and not as seductive.
The Athenian Gentleman
Let's get some things straight:
This fragrance is art in a bottle... it's so refined, sic, elegant and smooth but at the same time long lasting with decent projection that don't offence and separates you from the crowd...
I have get many compliments for this but one from a younger girl colleague is i want to share...i was wearing DHI while a fellow colleague wore the One Milion, we asked what she likes best and said the One Milion.
After a few days (we still wearing the same fragrances all this time) she came alone and told us that at the end she likes best DHI cause (as probably the scents grew up in her) she found it more delicate, sophisticated and sexy while One Milion became boring...
As for the scent it self, that cacao lipstick heavenly smell maybe it's sounds controversial but is very sexy on a man...
10/10

iso this one
so anybody who wanna swap let me know
i am in Europe
mateusV5
idk how I feel about this cuss the opening is very mid but the dry down is tough. I have only worn it once but I feel like I need like 6 sprays it seems very weak in my opinion
zekeriyaluv
I bought the new batch, it is much weaker than the 2017 batch I bought before but it still smells very sexy.
tylerss20
Overpriced for what you're getting. This is a very sweet, sugary icing sort of scent. If you want to smell like cake, this is for you.
Dior Sausage
@GiveMeADrPepper lmao what?
You prefer the Valentino to a TJ Maxx frag.*
You haven't tried this.
GiveMeADrPepper
I tried a dupe of this at TJ Maxx and so far I didn’t like it. I want to keep trying it to see if it grows on me. Smells sweet in an odd kind of way, very unisex leaning a bit feminine. I much prefer uomo intense to this
Knows2Nose
Recently purchased the new bottle where the writing is on the cap. I still have a little bit left of my old bottle and they smell pretty much the same, the only difference I can tell is that this new bottle smells a little more sharper and brighter. I’ve had my old bottle for about 6 years so that makes sense, it’s been through a lot with moving, leaving it my gym bag, car etc. But yea, the smell is still divine and easily lasts till the next day. Because my new bottle is brighter I’ve been able to pull it off during the day no problem. But easy on the sprays, you don’t need a lot. This, Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense, Bleu de Chanel Parfum, La Nuit Bleu Électrique and Luna Rossa Sport are my main signatures.
Fragrancengga5
This is fucking liquid art. If you think this smells like vomit you will never get fucked in your life. You will be lonely forever. Not to mention infertile.
Rasharun
A masterpiece
jainrahul3218
Beautiful scent. One of the best designer frags I have ever smelled. If I could keep using one fragrance for all my life it would be this. Over spraying this is a very bad idea because you become nose blind really quick and it could choke people around you. The longevity and projection is monstrous. This lasts 10+ hours in scorching Delhi heat. Might not be safe to wear in closed spaces in summer
Mugabob
Honestly it smells like you’ve walked into a herb garden on a peak spring day. If you aren’t familiar with earthy flowery scents I highly recommend you steer clear of this, it is somewhat expensive and blind buying isnt recommended, however if you love the smells go for it. Personally I find the flowery tones too synthetic and strong, the rawness is potent.
PaperRouteP
Powdery flowers sometimes I love it sometimes I don’t and feel it’s too feminine. Right now not a fan. Great performance zero sillage
Edit I actually hate this fragrance
Graciegrace
I'm an iris and musk person, i love thisss! It smells cozy warm smooth sexy, nice for night outs from date night to glam up events, and i feel that it can suit unisex. Stays on my skin for at least 4 hours.
I think it has similarity to Givenchy Gentleman's scent but to me this one is smoother.
Please don't discontinue this! :(
TheTrackEnthusiast
I’m going to say it….. this fragrance is TRASH. The iris doesn’t smell good, the fragrance is weak af, has no projection, or sillage. Totally overhyped by every reviewer. There are SO many more fragrances that smell better, perform better, and offer better value.
PASS !
LadyIva
After JPG Le Male launched the trend of sweet fragrances for men almost 30 years ago, all other maisons quickly jumped on the bandwagon, and nowadays the market is dominated by such floral-fruity-vanillic scents. I know that various versions of Dior Homme regularly top the lists of the best men's fragrances of all time, but to me, this genre is a big no-no. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't want grown men to smell like flowers and chocolate chip cookies...
Tacoscent
Just beautiful. Soft, elegant and refined. Simultaneously modern and timeless. You obviously have to love Iris but if you do then this is truly a grail level Iris. The entire Dior homme Iris line is stellar, if you were to take only one this would probably be my choice as it’s very versatile outside of high summer.
ChitoSimS
Smells really good but does not last at all. Its better to get an alternative that lasts longer if you like the smell.
iniodar
My God, I remember being intoxicated by this perfume. This was my first "expensive" designer perfume and I made such a big gamble to blind bought this perfume, and I have to say it was such a successful bet. I still don't understand why vanilla isn't listed in here, because I swear this perfume smells like lavender, Iris, and smooth Vanilla. You just can't go wrong with DHI and any other Dior Homme flankers. The most 'beautiful' men perfume line out there... (until your nose get bored of designer perfumes and move to niche)
AlexisOshianis
This fragrance is temperamental!
Some wearing it smells amazing- smooth, powdery floral, fruity and chocolately; but then sometimes it just smells awful.
I dont know what to do with this thing- I love it and hate it.
alyce
Ranking the Dior Hommes I've tried:
1. Dior Homme Original [2021] (fresh yet sweet, round, clean iris— simple perfection)
2. Dior Homme Intense (almost vanillicish-pearish-round smell, nice but sort of generic and overpowering the iris, the most "feminine" of the three)
3. Dior Homme Parfum (biting cough syrup component, the leather isn't a great quality leather so maybe that's the issue, too much clouding the iris, clunky)
Dior Homme Original is the "weakest" of the three, but I'd rather re-spray and smell amazing than smell like the others more intensely/for longer. Fresh fragrances are almost always going to be less in your face, but I'm okay with embracing their fleeting nature, especially when they're as beautiful as Dior Homme Original.
I get that the parfum is the most sought after by far, so I guess I'm in the minority here!
H4jdm
I wasn’t too hyped regards to this frag, I smelt Givenchy edp extreme and loved the iris, lipsticky scent to it. I noticed from a lot of reviews, regarding the latest batches of DHI weren’t as good in performance. I ended up finding a steal on eBay, batch code 0M01 and should be coming tomorrow. Will update my opinion, regards to smell and performance.
Update
Smell - This is very good, the lipsticky powdery iris and woody notes surprised me. It’s very nice and definitely an attractive scent.
Performance - I’d say it’s quite moderate in projection within the first hour. Maybe an arms length, but definitely a scent bubble around you, which is great. It terms of longevity, it tends to last up to 6-8 hours. Im not complaining tbh, I did notice people saying the new formulations, aren’t as good compared to its 2011, 2015 releases.
Overall - this scent is amazing and I love it, definitely a classy scent, suitable for special occasions or dressing up. Maybe during the colder months, it will be better.
8.5/10
j1ru
Beautiful, pleasant, smooth almost chocolate-like scent, a perfection of all-round musk/fruitiness. And wow, does it last long. I still got hints of lavender and pear after 6 hours when I woke up alone in an apartment in Paris. The dry down is fantastic and only leaves the scent notes you want others to smell, especially the powdery iris and amber/wood. Rather than compliments, you'll get sniffs. The more unwarranted the better. Definitely not an everyday scent for me, but I love wearing it on a night out. 8.5/10
FreshNBussin
Huge fan of Dior and a happy owner of Homme 2020 and Sauvage EDT. With that said, this one was a huge miss for me. Smells like an old lady kind of thing. Was extremely hyped for it too, especially because I am a huge fan of Lavender and Iris as well, which are dominate players in this fragrance. As far as power, it definitely performs well. Oh well, can't always win. If you enjoy the lipstick thing, get it!
stonkz
The opening does smell like lipstick from an elderly lady. but there is so much more to this fragrance... Iris, powder, chocolate and a beautfiul realistic pear. will come back after i have fully tested it. but first impressions are good. Feels like u do need to be mature or dress classy for this fragrance to really suit you. But objectively: it is well blended and smells good. Subjectively: i do really enjoy this unique fragrance.
Edit: i do hate the opening but not the rest. the drydown is classy.
BrysonBruh
This is what it smells like on my skin:
Opening:
Lots of the fruity pear + iris and lavender. Not enough to be girly, but enough to smell great with a slight woody support from the base.
10 mins in: Still lots of the Pear, less lavender, more iris and natural earthy smell, amazing.
Slowly just smooths out until slight pear with more wood and natural notes, maybe even smells a little like Vanilla Bean to me.
Performance lasts around 10 hours but projects for the first 7.
Also, not sure if it is just me, but I recently bought this, seems like it can be used in the summer. Smells fruity and fresh naturally. Obviously usable for winter and fall, but I would easily wear this in the summer, not too strong at all. Smells very deep and smooth out.
Azadak47
I got this after I got a clone of this ( wood intense maison asrar) I was blown away how pleasant and smooth blended it was, thinking the original must be even better I was quite disappointed with it's performance, the iris note is stronger in the original but overall it's weak perfume compared to the clone. It's way overpriced but still a masterpiece.
newbie-in-frag(ame)
Dior Homme Intense speaks of our time, of the city dweller who is self-sufficient, praises self-care and covets undue attention. It speaks to us loudly. Humbly, I foresee DHI being a timeless classic, remembered and though about long after we are gone.
Smellysniffer31
The opening was too floral for me so I didn’t like it and concluded of it being overrated. But in like 5 minutes it turned into this chocolatey powdery scent that I am in love with. Would wear it any day except for the summer season.
SUTU
When this fragrance settles, the magic begins to fade.
VilianM.
Let me start by saying I'm not a niche snob or etc.
But this...
This is the definition of social media overhype.
This smells like lipstick and other make up powders. Nothing more, nothing less. It's linear. so it doesn't get any better. Whoever tells you it turns to a MASTERPIECE is clearly blinded by YouTube reviewers. It smells like a lady's bag with make up stashed in it. Reminds me of 80+ ladies, going on their day to day shenanigans. Tragedy. Contains harmful chemicals too, you can look that up.
ISmellGood93
Doing a small re-review as I've been using this off and on since September and I didn't know as much what I was talking about.
This stuff is exquisite! It smells like luxury without requiring a luxurious wearer.... Sprays on with a hint of lavender under a MASSIVE lipsticky Iris middle that lingers through the longevity. Little tiny bit of pear, drying down into a slightly vanilla Iris wood vibe, that is BEAUTIFUL.
Maceration for a few months has not really done much difference for me. It smells and performs basically as it did the day of purchase, but I will say, this is one that ypu can easily get about 12 hours with strong sillage from. Atleast for me.
I've worn it dressed up, dressed down, fancy nights out, nights in, the only hold back I have with this, is I don't think it would do well in hot weather, even a warm date night, for me it'd be too much. But this is a staple from fall-early spring!
DanielKingHATER
it smells pretty good but really outdated. just get ysl tuxedo tbh

"Dior Homme Intense 2011: A Timeless Elegance Captured in a Bottle"
Dior Homme Intense 2011 is not merely a fragrance; it's an olfactory masterpiece that transcends time with its unparalleled blend of sophistication, sensuality, and masculinity. As an ardent admirer of fine fragrances, I can confidently assert that Dior Homme Intense 2011 stands as a beacon of excellence in the realm of men's perfumery.
From the moment the fragrance dances upon your skin, you're enveloped in a symphony of rich, seductive notes that evoke an aura of refined masculinity. The opening notes greet you with a harmonious blend of iris and lavender, immediately setting the stage for the journey ahead. The iris, in particular, lends an exquisite powdery quality that is both distinctive and alluring, making a bold statement without overpowering the senses.
As the fragrance settles, it reveals its heart notes, where the warmth of amber and Virginia cedar intertwines with the subtle sweetness of pear. This delicate balance creates a captivating interplay of contrasts, striking the perfect harmony between strength and tenderness. The scent evolves gracefully on the skin, exuding an aura of confidence and sophistication that is impossible to ignore.
What truly sets Dior Homme Intense 2011 apart is its longevity and sillage. Unlike fleeting fragrances that dissipate within hours, this masterpiece lingers on the skin for hours on end, leaving a trail of allure wherever you go. Whether worn during a formal evening affair or a casual daytime outing, its presence is unmistakable and unforgettable.
Furthermore, the presentation of the fragrance is a testament to Dior's commitment to luxury and elegance. Housed in a sleek, minimalist bottle with a magnetic cap, it exudes a sense of sophistication that is synonymous with the Dior brand.
In conclusion, Dior Homme Intense 2011 is not just a fragrance; it's a work of art that embodies the essence of timeless elegance. With its masterful blend of notes, impeccable longevity, and unparalleled sophistication, it has rightfully earned its place as a classic in the world of men's perfumery. If you're seeking a fragrance that transcends trends and stands the test of time, look no further than Dior Homme Intense 2011. It's a true masterpiece that deserves a permanent spot in every discerning gentleman's collection.

One of the best Dior fragrances, if not the best. Perfect for date nights, it’s honestly a safe blind buy. 10/10

Really good fragrance, at the start its pretty sharp, but after a while it smells amazing!!

Magnificent! It's a excellent fragrance for when you want to impress people.

A fragrance for the gentleman. Beautifully refined and rounded off by a smooth iris note. In my opinion, a staple in every fragrance collection.

I waited 8 months to re-review after it macerated. I honestly think people prefer older batches of fragrances because they sat for a long time. I did dislike this because it felt like being hit in the face with baby powder. I did wear it a few times and when I was helping my cousin move, she commented whatever I was wearing smelled really good. I tried a very light spray today and it smells much better. It's slightly sweet, woody and creamy. Bright and airy. There really is nothing I own that smells like this. I do have Prada L'homme intense and it is similar, but with more clean vibes. I changed my opinion from dislike to like. Granted it is now winter and when I tried it before it was early summer. Maybe there is something to all the seasonal recommendations for wearing. My batch code indicates it was created May 2022.

Not my type of scent but i respect it for what it is.More suitable for mature men and better worn when your dressed up or for dates in fancy restaurants.
fatiher123
I think it might be my favorite perfume. I did a blind purchase and was blown away when I first smelled it. When I first used it, I could always smell the perfume on me, but now I can't smell it, maybe because my nose has gotten used to this perfume.

Much much better than the OG DH. Good stuff here, absolutely love it from the opening to the dry down.
I've got a recent batch and the performance is not so good tbh,the top notes disappear too quickly and the opening is my favourite part of this fragrance, a bit pissed about that but i kinda don't care because it's so good in general. I just spray it more than i would do with a potent juice.

I like this perfume but it definitely can't be used daily and it's a very hit or miss fragrance. It's sophisticated and very flowery but a girl I dated said it smelled like an old lady's closet. Another girl said that she loves it. Hit or miss, like I said. If you love its scent buy it and rock it. It's very unique.

Very nice and sophisticated fragrance , however I do get a sense that it smells a bit like a makeup bag as a lot of people say , in my opinion it kind of smells like a nice and expensive lotion that you would find on your grandmas drawer .Nonetheless its a really nice fragrance with a great powder note , do be warned however it is quite feminnine

Guys the color of the juice in fresh batches has nothing to do with quality/performance of a fragrance, as they can put any colorant they want. Upon unboxing current formulation bottle had very light juice, however now after 2,5 years my 08/2021 batch has the same ambery-orange color as some really old bottles I've seen. It's the maceration and wanilla ripening, however as it comes to scent yes they lowered quality mainly because there's no more real iris flower, instead now iris note is aroma molecules mixture sprinkled with orris root instead of real iris flower hence it's weaker and less prominent, but still pleasent. These days brands like Dior and CHANEL use most expensive tuskan iris flower only in their boutiqe range of frags, unfortunetly this also means there's no tuskan iris in DHP anymore. For the scent profile itself my 2021 DHI batch doesn't smell irisy in the opening, it's impossible from the chemistry standpoint as the iris note artificial or not is constructed in a way to take time to bloom in contact with skin temperature, humidity etc. I'm smelling burnt dark dry ashy lavender in the opening, fake-iris note comes in about 15-20 minutes mark and stays for 2-3hrs Demachy did a good job sprinkling it with orange-like juice faking iris-like note to be more wet and lively. Then woods take over, which I'm not a huge fan of. Drydown is super nice natural smelling chocolate-vannila combo. As the bottle ages woods gets less prominent, while sweeter aspects are intensified making it more similar to older DHI formulations. Hope this explains a bit to those confused about DHI. Cheers! :)

Truly one of the greats when it comes to mens fragrances. Sweet, powdery intoxicating blend that is still relevant til this day.

Masterpiece. I have recently gotten into fragrances after my Sauvage EDT shattered last May, and this was one of my first purchases and was a blind buy. Great 2nd or 3rd purchase for someone starting their collection. It leans masculine but is comfortably unisex.
BLUDZEN
To me, this is THE fragrance. Not much to say other than that it's a masterpiece.
Blazntrax
If God wore a fragrance, this would be it. Complete masterpiece of a fragrance. This is the Holy Grail of fragrance. If you love Iris in fragrance, you have to get your nose on this. Glad to have a backup bottle should it ever "disappear".

I really like the dry down, but in the first 45min-1 hour it does bot smell that good. So if you want to use it you should put it on atleast 45 min before you go out or whatever you are gonna wear it too. All in all a 10/10 fragrance (after det down).

I got this after buying a clone ( wood intense maison asrar) I love that so I thought original must be even better I am very disappointed I could have brought 3 for the same price. The clone is just as smooth from opening to the end, it definitely has a better performance, these designer brands are redundant now since middle eastern clone houses are doing better job with quarter of the price.

Nauseating opening, delicious drydown. No matter who I smell this on, the opening makes me want to puke. My girlfriend hates it, my colleagues below 25 hate it, 25-30 say it is decent, 30+ seem to like it quite a bit. Not a masculine fragrance at all if you were to ask me, but I wouldn't want to smell it on my girlfriend either.
Don't get me wrong, this is a well blended fragrance that is sophisticated, complex and masterfully created, I just can't bring myself to tolerate the opening to appreciate the drydown.
godlyo
amazing scent, the females love it, anytime i was with a girl got compliments, sillage is great but its the best for close intimate situations
80Days
Another wonderful fragrance in this line. Dry down is quick, so the big iris simmers away pretty fast. You're left with a sweeter, more lush Dior Homme. I wish it had better longevity, but my girlfriend likes it up close, so it definitely has a role.
Gaboich
This fragrance is amazing. It starts off with a lot of iris for me and smells amazing really.
It stays the same smellm for me for a few hours but when u reach the 5-6 hour mark u get this kind of cacao/chocolate type of smell which IS SO SO GOOD
honestly this fragrance is perfect for date nights or going out to a resturant in the evening.
In terms of longevity i have seen a lot of people saying this doesnt last but for me it last pretty long(8 hours+). And nearly no fragrances last long on my skin
it projects very good during the first hours for me

10/10 this is my favorite fragrance, it's literally so damn good.
Just got this in the mail today and I'm so glad I snagged a 5oz bottle. I've been wearing Valentino Uomo Intense for the last few months and this is very similar. DHI is a bit more subtle and complex which makes it more interesting while VUI is a bit more aggressive. It might be the Juniper and Sage notes in VUI that give it that complex. DHI is softer which I think may be the reason DHI gets a bad rep when comparing the two.
TL;DR
Master piece of a fragrance if you're into this type of scent profile.
DHI = soft, subtle, and complex. Make this such a well rounded and interesting fragrance.
VUI = in-your-face and loud making this much more attention grabbing thanks to the addition of Juniper and Sage.
EDIT:
Definitely over spray this to get the best longevity and silage. It's subtle enough so don't sweat it if you're afraid to smell like a car freshener. If you're patient enough and able to, purchase from discounters (Jomashop or Aura Fragrance) where you can often find a 5oz bottle for around 115-125 usd.

Good fragrance for me got a little bit boring after a while but still i can see why its loved, first hour and a half u get that strong pear woody smell after it fades off it brings in this chocolatey powdery smell, i can definitely say this isnt a blind buy smelt it in airport once absolutely hated it but decided to smell again and had to buy because i absolutely loved it longevity is good projection intimate-moderate

Im planning to buy 05443/A formula DHI. Maybe someone tried to compare with other formulas? How about longevity? Projection? Is someone compared with 08666/A formula or newer please write your thoughts ASAP i would be very thankfull

Smells like a cardboard box, in a good way.

Love iris fragrances so plunged in with a 5oz bottle of DHI. I’ve worn it twice now and it’s a great scent, waxy elegance. I will say it’s a lot softer and sits closer than expected being an intense and based on ratings; both times has been on skin so I’ll try it on my clothes next.
The scent is a more waxy iris vs the Givenchy Gentleman scents I have, which is nice so it’s not overly redundant. I see the similarities to GG EDP but that has more warm spices which really separates the two.
Overall very nice scent and hopefully the strength builds a little while it sits so I can enjoy it easier.
EDIT: I did a test tonight and it was gone by 4 hours on my arm. Did a couple quick searches on YT and found The Fragrance Fan did a review on the 2020 version with Intense labeled in the cap vs bottle, which I have and he describes my same experience this afternoon. Not trying to crap on it but for $130 wishing I could have lived the glory days. Had GG Boisse on the other arm which isn’t a beast either and it was noticeable more present the whole time.

How do 17,000 people love this perfume? It is a strange fragrance and some people are trying to mask its strange profile with "mature" and "for refined men" labels when its simply just a weird scent.
I bought a 5ml sample of this highly reviewed fragrance and top rated on this website, unfortunately it just smells unpleasant and weird.
The profile is a mixture of leather, florals and a chocolate-like woodiness which you can get whiffs off individually during its drydown.

10/10 masterpiece but bevare, if you wear this too often, its not as good as if u were to wear it once in a while, its really weird but true…actually prefer the intense over parfum
Lavendera
As someone who absolutely loves floral fragrances this is one of my personal favorite, the smell is floral, woody and absolutely elegant and classy. The opening is strange, it might smell like a dirty/earthy iris but with added pear it might smell like powdery chocolate or powdery lipsticks, once you go through the opening you'll start to smell iris (smells like lipsticks) with powdery notes and aromatic lavender and little bit of sweetness from the pear, the base is heavenly cedar and vetiver wood just add this touch of elegance and class. This perfume is amazing i just love it so much. Regardless of the name "homme" i think this is a 100% unisex yes there is cedar and vetiver wood which is traditionally used in men's perfume but this one doesn't smell overly masculine or feminine
the price is somewhat expensive for the performance i honestly expected beast mode performance but unfortunately not, it lasts around 7 to 10 hours and project moderately the first few hours (maybe the first 4 to 6 ish) then it stits closer to the skin.
One of the worst things about this perfume that it's really hard to pull it off in certain situations, for this is only night/date time i wouldn't use it in any other situation, therefore, I highly recommend you get a 50 or less ml bottle.
Even though I got a 100 ml bottle it looks so small somehow, and it kind of inconvenient to take it out/put in the box with the small box and bottle, obviously if you care about making the perfume lasts as long as possible.
The atomizer spary the perfect amount of fragrance each time so if you wanna over spray do not spray multiple times on the same spot, generally 3 to 5 sprays is enough on the skin and 2 on clothes, i wouldn't recommend going over that
Yohanes27
When I first got the sample of DHI, I don't understand with all the fuzz on how amazing this fragrance is. It smells sticky, lipsticky, and just weird. But then, I decided to keep an open mind and try this a couple more times.
Now, I really like the scent! Okay, it still smells lipsticky to me, but it is so smooth like butter. Probably one of the most refined and elegant smelling fragrance that I've smelled. I definetly will be looking forward to get a full bottle of this when the time is right.
Funny, I sorta have hate then love relationship with 2 Dior fragances. First is Eau Sauvage Parfum, which at first I dislike as well but now is one of my fav scent ever, now this follows the smiliar route.
josefgeverson
My most complimented fragrance, completely blind bought and was worried the iris notes would be too overpowering but this is an extremely pleasant, manly scent.
Dy7no
This is my most complimented fragrance. Every time I go out with it, I get compliments from both girls and guys. The iris note makes this perfume rich and intriguing. However it is hard to pull of and can't be worn everywhere. The most suitable occasion would be either a date or while wearing a suit.
AkselSvEn

Beautiful scent but the parameters are average at most or less... Shame.

Powdery Power.Takes me back to a Safe ,80's Barbershop.
Edit : After Smelling the Parfum Version , I'd wouldn't get this one anymore as there's a huge Performance difference ,and definitely the Parfum sticks 24 hrs on you ,like literally hard to remove ,even after washing it off.
loverperfumer
I tried it at my local mall, first time I smelt it I wasn't really digging the smell but after sometimes of smelling it I really got to enjoying it. I bought it after a while.
I love it a lot its a really classy and good fragrance for more suitable events as weddings or going to a more evenly event with suits or that sort of attire.
perfect mix love it.

I have smelled this many times in stores and i dont understand how people like this it smells like vomit after reading comments on this fragrance and the other dior homme fragrances all smells so wierd and bad 3/10 for me.
Atharva Fragrance
This fragrance is delectable, the chocolaty and sweet scent. This is an amazing fragrance for the colder weather months and I’m a big fan of the iris note, this fragrance is just perfection.
samtinker
Bro, honestly this smells like a bouquet of roses. It’s sweet, but not very sweet. I can understand why people think it’s feminine. It smells just like a dozen flowers very elegant. not versatile still trying to find the occasion that I can wear this. It’s not a bad smelling fragrance, but it can be too sweet and this is coming from a guy who loves unisex scent's. This is almost on the verge of a perfume. It just has a musky twist. Definitely reminds me of my mom’s make up bag. I’m really not sure when I can wear this. I’d prefer to wear stronger with you or 9 PM on a date night versus putting this on. I wouldn’t wear it on a night out with my friends it’s way too floral sweet. I wouldn’t wear it on at a bar. I wouldn’t wear it to the club. I’d probably wear to a wedding, not my wedding, but a wedding. This is also coming from someone who loves powdery since I have Prada l’homme and I much rather daily wear that than this. I’m not a mancho man but I’m very confident. Still can’t see myself wearing this on a regular basis. Not even on a date night. It’s definitely different and unique from other colognes. I did blind but it but I knew what I was getting myself into when the reviews said powdery floral. I just thought it would smell more masculine than this. I definitely can see an older women wearing this honestly. My mom loves 540. I love it on her but I might have to give this to her. Well its too expensive to give away but I’ll see if she wants a travel size bottle and I’m sure she will because will this doesn’t scream manly at all.
Mjchaelj
I always wanted this fragrance, never being able to get it easily America. I went to Europe and managed to get it at an airport in Munich, can’t say I wasn’t disappointed. The scent is amazing, don’t be the wrong. Powdery, chocolatey, floral. It’s just that the performance is not as impressive as I thought it would be. Which is why I don’t wear it as much. If anyone wants to get this, try looking at Valentino Uomo Intense. The scent is similar but it performs so much better.
9.5/10
aybruu
Just got this in from a blind buy, it's a really good scent but I found it really weird and confusing at first, but after around 15 minutes it gets to a really creamy, sweet and make-up like smell I feel this is definitely a winter/fall scent, but can be worn in some cases in the spring.

Together with Prada l’Homme and JPG Le Male Le Parfum: Masterpiece of designer perfumes.
Saebre
I do not understand the hype of this fragrance even for a moment. I get absolutely no projection whatsoever, barely becomes a skin scent even after 20 minutes.
Brave828
I don’t understand why some people consider this a feminine-leaning scent. Nothing about DHI reminds me of my aunt or women at work. It’s not even that powdery. It has a unique scent profile and its sweetness is calmed by masculine darkness. Imagine an athletic, slim man in a dark suit. If you don’t want to smell like all college dudes, you will like it. The downside however is that it becomes a skin scent in less than two hours. You need around six to eight sprays.
Raul Claudiu
It finally clicked to me how perfect DHI is. So much better than any inspired scent..there is a butteriness,a smoothness here that is so gentle and elegant, just masterful perfumery.
Lihaliemikuutio
When I tried it for the first time it smelled like old cough medicine. After smelling it a few times I learned to love it. One of my favourite designer perfumes ever! Only sad thing about it is that the new batches seem to project weaker than the old ones.
gxoki
Amazing fragrance. Exceeded my expectations. Some say this leans feminine and that's not true. This is very much a masculine, elegant fragrance. The reason some people think it may lean feminine is because of the iris note which is commonly used in makeup. It absolutely doesn't make this fragrance feminine though. Don't be mislead. Anyways longevity is amazing especially on clothes, powerful sillage for the first ~7h, safe blind buy buy, although if you are able to, I would recommend testing how this performs on your skin and if you even like the smell just in case (although I refuse to believe anyone could find this unappealing), since this is available in pretty much every Sephora in europe (I think), Works amazing for a date night or other special/non-special occasions as well. Especially in winter or autumn. Definately one of my favorites.
MoonInAries
I've been using Dior Homme Intense for the past year and judging the above trend graph this is clearly having a big moment, 13 years after it was first released. I can only guess this is due to Sauvage saturation fatigue causing people to reassess DHI's unique quality.
The initial blast is a sweet floral lavender/iris combo which slowly deepens into a spicy-sensual cocoa/ambrette concoction. The pear in the heart is also ever present, adding a fruity note in the background. The base is woody, like a carpet of iris petals on a bed of leaves in autumn.
To compare it to the original (pre 2020) Dior Homme, this is less sweet; the iris playing a role in the supporting cast rather than being the star. This is also altogether more accessible than Dior Homme Parfum, whose leather/oud combo can be overpowering in the wrong environment.
It's a very sexy concoction, still unique in the designer pantheon as far as I can tell. My batch is from 2022 and the longevity is a good 6 hours in my experience. Also a guaranteed compliment getter. Tailor made for autumn and winter, in summer it could be overpowering in the heat.

THE EXPENSIVE BUT EFFECTIVE INSECURITY HEALER
I like Dior Homme Intense. I don't have a passion for it any longer but I like to use it from time to time. I am not a big Iris fan. My wife seems not to care much about it, as she never differentiates my scent with a compliment whenever I wear it. I do think she accuses olfactory fatigue with this fragrance. That's only natural. I also forget to compliment her when she uses Eau du Soir, the perfume she likes and wears the most.
I use DHI more at work and on casual occasions than in clubbing or formal situations. The reason is obvious. In formal happenings and in the club, half of the men wear a strong Iris scent. I hate to be "another guy with the same scent DNA". Between Dior and its followers, I count at least 14 fragrances with more or less the same type of dominant musky iris scent as DHI, and sometimes with the same or better performance. I am convinced that the Valentino fragrances have an edge over Dior Homme equivalent fragrances. Yes, I am a Valentino fan!
Insecure men tend to use any type of Dior Homme (or Bleu de Chanel) as a safe choice for any faultless occasion. It's just like swallowing a pill to overcome insecurity. That does not always work. A single man wearing Spice Bomb, Man in Black, or Tobacco Vanille, will stand out in a group of 10 Dior Homme wearers in any formal event. Dior Homme Intense really lost a bit of its uniqueness. François Demachy is not to blame as he designed lots of unique fragrances like the best Dior Poison (Midnight Poison), Ungaro III (a tottaly underrated fragrance) and Antaeus (a masterpiece, and the best Chanel for me).
My advice for any Dior Homme Intense addict: Try to use it also on casual occasions. You will surprise the Million, Sauvage, Dylan Blue and Burberry London wearers in a very positive way.
As for the fragrance itself, it's a very well-blended perfume, with top quality ingredients, not complex, not cloying, with good performance and an assuring brand name behind it. It's a true landmark.
Lavender and a sweet boozy pear establish a fugitive entry ambience before the strong iris and ambrette (a musky note) settle a dominance that will endure till the drydown. The woody base notes add some desired masculinity to the global aroma, and grant a long drydown, still suggesting some nuances of the musky iris.
Let's work out the math for Dior Homme Intense:
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
- Opening: 9.0 (just a bit of lavender and some fruity sweetness, in front of the lipsticky omnipresent iris and musky ambrette)
- Drydown: 9.0 (mainly the residual iris powderiness, the musky ambrette and a sober woody accord)
- Longevity: 8.5 (above average for a powdery and floral fragrance; up to 9 hours with 3 sprays)
- Sillage: 8.0 (up to 6 feet and two hours projection, with 3 sprays)
- Uniqueness: 6.5 (very well designed and blended, but really not a lot different from other 6 Dior fragrances, 3 Valentinos, 1 Zara, 1 Tom Ford, 1 Carolina Herrera, and half a dozen other perfumes),
- Usability: 8.5 (Winter, Autumn and Spring - Night and Day)
- Versatility: 9.0 (a "yes" to socializing, events, restaurants, and office type of situations; it's a top fragrance in regards to clubbing, nights out, bar with friends, dates and intimate "encounters")
- Quality: 10.0 (my judgement; of course. By any means does it smell cheap or synthetic)
- Presentation: 9.0 (Good looking bottle but not a unique design, solid thick glass, effective card box protection; very good sprayer; very handy cap and locking design)
- Price: 7.5 (100 ml tester for €80.00 on sale, plus taxes and shipping; not really cheap even assuming that this is a Dior fragrance)
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
The overall rating for this fragrance: 8.60/10.00
between 7 and 8 =above average;
between 8 and 9 = recommended;
bigger than 9 = don't miss it;
My opinion: I do recommend it but I also suggest its owners be a bit more creative and not use it always/only for informal events or clubbing. It's a fantastic romancing fragrance that will draw attention around you and will please you for long hours. I do recommend this perfume.
Is it blind buy worthy? I think so if the price is right for you.

One of the greatest fragrances ever created, hands down.
Warm, slightly sweet musky and powdery fragrance. my ex (who is the greatest woman alive next to my mom and sister lol) said it smells like fancy, slightly sweet vanilla ice cream.
robertwembridge
Give this fragrance some time like you just met someone, first it gets tricky - slightly awkward.
This fragrance magically develops in your neurons months and months after, giving you this desire to not stop smelling this fragrance, it's addicting - you should smell the fragrance on its occasion, there is a huge difference smelling this in the morning versus the night on a cold gloomy winter day with warm white lights, speckling candles emitting the room.
Absolute beauty. 10/10

I agree with the comparison to Gris Charnel, it’s all about Cardamom and Iris to my nose with some Lavender and possibly Clary Sage? to keep it balanced. I don’t pick up the pear. Its like drinking a warming cup of chai on a winters day. Performance is low to poor, you can’t overspray with this one.
Musecollector
I arrived late to the party, I just bought this perfume a few weeks ago because it's not available in my country. I don't know why most of the comments say it's long-lasting and has good projection; in my case, this perfume only stays at skin level, doesn't project, and doesn't last long. I have to reapply it all day. My wife, who knows about perfumes because I'm a collector, tells me she barely perceives my scent unless she gets too close to me. Maybe Dior changed the formula; it's a shame. I wish it lasted much longer; the smell is addictive.
ChiliOfTheValley
Gorgeous fragrance… from start to finish, this is sexy, elegant and seductive. That iris note is to die for. I just wish it lasted longer and had better projection.
This becomes a skin scent in less than an hour, and only lasts 5-6 hours on skin… and less than a day on clothes. I also tested my 2023 batch of DHI by spraying it on my coat, which was on the hanger, and checking back every 10-15 minutes to see how far it projects, lol. So I’m definitely not going anosmic to it, it’s just a really intimate fragrance.
Unfortunately, a lot of Zara perfumes, and fragrances of Arabic dupe houses with similar scent profiles perform a lot better than the legendary DHI. I guess it’s something to wear to impress myself and nobody else, as the performance sucks even with 8-10 sprays.
HERO2004
AMAZING FRAGRANCE!!! just one tiny problem.
IT DOSEN'T PROJECT AFTER AN HOUR!!!
it's the best smelling fragrance i have and i wish it just projects alot more.
u will get compliments ( if they can smell it )
and for the reason that it dosen't project, i consider this a summer friendly fragrance :3

This immediately smelled exactly like Jim Beam whiskey when I sprayed it, which dries down to a lovely cardamom/iris smell. Reminds me of BDK Gris Charnel! Love it

Designated gender orientation to fragrances is the weirdest phenomenon.
What's next? Are we going to stop eating certain foods as men because they "taste too feminine" ??
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion,
And if the fragrance isn't something you want to wear, no one is going to compel you to do so.
It is just weird that our sense of smell is dictated by a gender based dichotomy.

Opening was not the same I smelt in the store, bit weird even, maybe baked-good smelling. Then after an hour omg the whiffs I get still physically make me go wow, it’s amazing, delightful rich beauty. Haven’t even reached the drydown so looking forward to it

Nothing compares to this. Not niche, not designer. The best fragrance a man can wear is Dior Homme Intense.
There are some rumors on YouTube that this was supposed to be a Chanel Private Line fragrance but it didn't. I can see why.
10/10. Masterpiece.
I got the older bottle version; the performance is more than 12 hours. 10/10

Muskyflower
Still my favorite in my collection,
I dont even know why I continue to buy other fragrances

Scent of Dior Homme Intense is very mature. Woody notes are dominating with a little bit of Iris which is present. I see this one as adding some ages to a man in a positive way. Great for a fall season or winter.
Adamski_
Opening is extremly synthetic almost like hand sanitizer but the dry down is magnificent, the lavender is not overpowering so the woody base notes can easily be detected which allows for a beautiful blend off all notes.
If you are looking to smell unique but still be a crowd pleaser this is it.
NoseyOnTheSmell
I really do believe that this is one of the greatest masterpieces that has ever been created. A soft, powdery, buttery and creamy iris combined with the muskmallow and pear will immediately catch your attention from the opening. The vetiver and and cedar drydown has an almost dry but still powdery smell. I didn't really get much lavender from the opening, I'm assuming because of the overpowering iris smell, even considering that, it was love at first sniff! I do understand how people say that the iris is lipsticky, it does smell lipsticky, but that is what is so unique about it! nothing smells like it! Although, I do agree that it is not 100% masculine. I'd say it's unisex, leaning a good amount over to the masculine side. Perfect for a cold winter night! or a cool autumn evening! I also agree that it is probably not blind buy safe, but I do believe that you should try it out!
DscentFellow007
After getting past the “Feminine” aspect of this I began to really appreciate the craftsmanship.
Id describe it as a Floral Aromatic Classy Ambery scent with slightly fruity gourmand nuances.
Comparing to VUi which opens a bit screechy but quickly settles nicely.
Dhi is quality from start to finish and perfectly blended and im really starting to love that earthy note on the dry down..

Dior Homme Intense is still the king of men's colognes, along with M. Seven cologne from Yves Saint Laurent.
It has won the first place in men's colognes for several years.
With respect

Reformulation complainers- kick rocks. On second thought, kick your new bottles of DHI my way instead.
This is great stuff. I can’t smell enough of it. Cozy, sexy, cool, effortless. You can dress it up and down, but in cooler weather and evenings you can’t go wrong with this one. Good performer. All around very high-level perfumery from the good folks at CD.
DscentFellow007
Not sure how “beast” Dhi used to be but
Mine preforms pretty good and is a recent batch..

This is one of my favourite fragrances. At first i thought it smelt slightly feminine but after wearing it for about a week i was absolutely in love. The powdery iris smell makes this fragrance so luxerious smelling. It is definitely an evening fragrance however i am currently writing this review in my classroom at college wearing 20 sprays. I just cant help myself sometimes!
TobisDK
Initially, I didn't like the smell of this. Felt it was a tad feminine. However, a couple months after, I ended up smelling it again, and hell did it smell luxurious and masculine. This fragrances is a NEED for me. I need to buy a full bottle. It's like elegance in a bottle. It's masculine for sure.

To, "IrisLuva" , buy Valentino Uomo Intense, forget Dior, it's not the same as it used to be.
IrisLuva
I absolutely love this fragrance. One of the best I’ve ever tried ever. But I have a problem, people say it performs really well off of their skin but I get absolutely no performance off of mine. Tried 5 sprays on my skin, around my neck, and I’ve asked other people 3 hours into wearing the fragrance and they said they couldn’t smell it. Tried 7 sprays (2 more sprays on clothing) and people could only smell it a little bit when they got close to me. I was considering burning through my bottle and getting Dior Homme Parfum. I haven’t tried it but I heard it preforms much better and the note breakdown looks much more appealing to me since I like deep smooth scent profiles. The iris, sandalwood, oud, and leather sounds perfect. If anyone can let me know if Dior Homme Parfum would be worth it please do let me know.

i think the only reason i dont really like this fragrance is because it smells like the deodorant i use on my balls
Bo_Arwa
Not bad but overrated

I know I shouldn't, but sometimes I even use it during the day. It's just brilliant.

That's a classy, powdery and powerful scent. Clearly not for high temperatures but acceptable on mild temperatures.
boliy34710
best scent of all time
Tyfn
It deserves its place. Perfect powder & lipstick vibe.
Samurai23
Ah yes, lipstick and powder, the 2 words that come up when I try to picture a man...
I am happy that we are all different, but these type of iris 'masculine' fragrances like DHI... They are so gentle and soft and fluffy... I just dont understand them...
i.blame.nick
Very heavy, more feminine and outdated notes. Smells like old grandma. I don't get the hipe.

Powder, lipstick. Pleasant scent. Not for everybody.

Very unique, mature and seductive scent. Unfortunately a lot of people may not like the iris and powdery smell. But i think its just perfect. Definitely one of my favorite fragrances ever and i will buy this over and over again 🔥❤️. 10/10
PernesFumes
I would describe this in 2 words:classy and timeless. The most classy designer, I wear this whenever I am in a suit or I am going to a more elegant event, that powdery iris combined with the cocoa is just amazing, dry down the scent is still noticeable so I have to give it some points, projection 6h,logevity 10-11 hours. I need to repurchase.

Tried it at the store.
Opening reminds me of Valentino uomo intense, a lot actually.
It's sensual, powdery, hypnotic. When it dries it gets a little spicy.
100% worth the price imo but I want to try Kayaan classic first (trying to save some cash)

i really wanted to like this fragrance as it's raved about by basically all fragrance influencers and people online. honestly, i dont enjoy it as much as I thought I would based on the notes. The lavender and iris in this fragrance smells overbearingly powdery, and isn't as clean and smooth as I'd like it to be. As it dries down more, the fragrance definitely gets a bit better, but I get a more feminine leaning fragrance instead of the "distinguished gentleman" vibe throughout the fragrance's life cycle. I've given it multiple chances, each time convincing myself I would like it more as i smelled it more, but it's honestly just not that great and I find myself reaching for other winter fragrances that I think are blended much nicer than dior homme intense. It's still a good fragrance, but definitely overhyped in my opinion.
penguino320
at first the iris note was so strong but as it dried down it became a sophisticated deep lipstick-y smooth fragrance. family members said it was feminine which i kinda got what they meant but its such an addicting fragrance. 10/10

This is widely regarded as an incredible fragrance, so I was desperate to love this out of fear for not understanding what makes it so highly rated within the community. But if I'm being completely honest this just didn't click with me.
I find the Iris note here is quite polarizing. You definitely get that makeup bag smell which I don't like personally. That being said, I think it's better on the drydown as the iris settles down and you get a hint of cocoa coming through.
Sometimes I smell this and think to myself, "you know what, that's actually really nice". But more often than not I'm left confused with this scent and rarely find myself reaching for it. I'm currently in my mid 20s, perhaps as I get older my nose will be able to appreciate this scent more. For what it's worth, my mom loves this stuff and sprays it on herself (not sure if that's a good or bad thing, lol).
Anyways, I guess the lesson here is don't be afraid to trust your own nose and wear what you like. A fragrance won't necessarily be right for you just because it's highly rated.
teamdeez97
A must have for many fragrance enthusiasts!
JoshGores
I understand the hype on this one, smells elegant but not overly so, keeps the scent somewhat versatile. There is a pleasantness and familiarity that comes along with this scent and while it may not smell like the most masculine fragrance it definitely has its spot.

Joel_perfumeboss
Great perfume and i love it. my friends and the girls loves it as well. I would recommend smelling it before buying (not blind buy) since the iris is to much for some and perfect for some!
Amalfihereim
@Excentric_Smells why would you choose that picture for your profile? He was a monster pedo who couldn’t be allowed near young girls. Unbelievable, some people think it’s funny
Bizzy1995
Powdery Iris opening with a soft but prevalent lavender . Sweetness kicks in from musk mallow and a subtle pear note. The vetiver adds a woody aspect to this.
This reminds me of to la nuit delhomme but more with a powdery Iris note and more sweetness
enders
It lives up to the hype.

YAWN. like a million other powdery scents
Exentric_Smells
One of the most mindblowing fragrances I’ve ever blind bought and should be. The smell is simple to the nose but the vibe and aura it will give is pure elegance and class. It’s one of the most highly rated fragrances OAT for a reason, and deserves the hype. It lasts 12 hours, and the dry down gives the most perfect sweet and woody combo with chocolate and woods that smells edible and masculine. Some refer to this as feminine, but on a man’s skin it works different and definitely would get reactions.
St.0cky
This is a feminine fragrance to me. Not sure why its marketed for men. Smells like a makeup kit. Im struggling to figure out why its so highly rated but it is what it is, I cant possibly understand all of the world's mysteries.

This isn't a fragrance. This an emotion. This is a vibe. It smells so simple yet so Gorgeous! I can't elaborate further! I am not asking you to buy it but at least try it, as a fragrance fanatic, you owe it to yourself!

Top 5 designer perfumes ever,I'll just say that!

Opening smells like a carrot, but dry-down is great

Beautiful execution of iris. The ratings do speak for themselves honestly, amazing stuff.
It's not listed but I get a bit of chocolate along with the other accords. It also has a hint of sweetness to it as well.
Make sure when you're testing this (or any fragrance really) that you don't get it too close to your nose unless it's a very very small amount (like half a spray from those 1.2ml tester thingies). I learned with time that you should do one spray on your hand and smell it from a good distance.
Why am I saying this? because any full spray of anything smelled up close will be bad, this one included. I thought iris sucked when I first got this and I thought lots of other fragrances were horrible because of this mistake.
This one is an expensive boi, but it's also not a casual scent. It's probably the most formal scent I own and therefore the bottle will most likely last a very long time, not being used as often as other scents.
Performance is above average. The bottle is hot AF and high quality with an excellent atomizer (Giorgio Armani and Azzaro can learn a thing or two from Dior). There's also a cute bee on the box, cap and atomizer 🐝.
9.8/10
If it had nuclear performance this would be a full 10/10. Still the highest score I've given anything so far.
apstracti0n
I had always heard the, “lipstick, makeup”, comparisons and wondered what people meant. I got a sample then realized. I really didn’t like it the first couple times I sprayed it and actually thought it was quite feminine. Then I one night sampled it again and fell in love. This fragrance sparked a huge love for iris for myself. So if you’re on the edge about it, try giving it a chance, go on a nice date or event in some cold weather and enjoy this masterpiece!
NNNnovicenichenose
I became kind of a niche snob but this...
THIS IS INCREDIBLE
Crept right up to the top shelf. Who knew?! apparently not me.
Polished, unisex, versatile iris-musk with a hint of sweetness on a bed of green dry cedar that lasts and projects
Contemporary masterpiece of a fragrance
junkioberyoloman
Creative and unique but still crowd pleasing classic.
Beautiful Iris that has been sweetened to create an absolute masterpiece.
Performance on this got better for me after I let it sit for a bit.
Atomizer is great.

If you're not a fan of powdery feminine fragrances do not get this. I personally fucking love it though. It's a fairly light unisex fragrance, the lavender and iris are top tier, it just smells amazing. Also this thing LASTS, like, easily more than 12 hours.

Amazing fragrance. I blind bought this an was pleasantly surprised with the smell, it’s a really classy scent one of my favourites.
I wouldn’t recommend it for warmer weather, it’s perfect for the winter.
Christos08
If you cannot afford reflection 45 by Amouage then this is a fantastic fragrance but if you can afford reflection 45 then buy it as it is Dior homme intense on steroids. I own both and they are both great in their own right Dior separates itself from the usual designer frags with this it is the king of designer fragrances at a fantastic price but my word reflection 45 is an absolute beast of a scent powdery iris lavender is on another level. My 3 favourite fragrances from Dior are this and Fahrenheit parfum and the original Fahrenheit. But if you can afford a little bit more try reflection 45 it is simply stunning
Kyer
One of the best fragrances ever created.
This smells like a powdery makeup/lipstick done in a manly way. It is highly elegant, classy but yet so wearable, many people say this is only for when you’re all suited up and while it would be a fantastic if not the perfect occasion to use it, I would say it definitely has more uses than that, as long as you’re not in shorts and a T-shirt you should be good.
This is for cold weather (fall and winter) and preferably for night. Projection and longevity are both pretty good.
Bingo30
This is a classic for good reason. A unisex sweet waxy sort of smell. Extremely likable to my nose. What can I say that hasn't already been said?
It is great. But maybe it is also a little overplayed. Like the "Stairway to Heaven" of fragrances.
Cdub5_
What's going on with Fragrantica? Where did Dior Homme Intense 2020 go? Why do they now have the 2020 bottle pictured as the 2011 bottle?
What's going on? Is this some sort of Mandela Effect alternate universe thing going on?
dayonee
10:30pm. Got out of the shower. Unscented lotion applied. For the first time, 1 spray on the chest, 1 on the wrist. Tucked in.
Lipsticky. Makeup bag. Like having a powder makeup foundation explode in your face. Warm and rich. Hot chocolate with iris-flavored marshmallow on top. Olfactory ASMR.
Hype is real. Never smelled anything like this before. So well done.
You don't wear this for special occasions.
You wear this, and that's the special occasion.
mhobba
This scent requires some level of self confidence. The men that find this too feminine may simply lack the balls to wear it.

I put this on, and when my homie sniffed it on me, he immediately got naked and oiled up

When I started my journey in fragrance, I hated this with a passion. It confused me. Why would any man want to smell like a chocolate bar in a woman's purse? In fact it made me angry as it seemed like it was purposefully created to be "anti-masculine" for the sake of being artistically contrary. The smell of lipstick, the smell of a woman's purse is ipso facto NOT masculine. With such descriptions anyone could confidently say "That does not smell like a man." Indeed, when I sprayed it on tester strips at the store, this is what I smelled and exactly what I concluded. That was all I needed to completely dismiss this, and I did.
But people I respected kept raving about it. This made me more angry! Either all these people (who knew much more than me) were a bunch of gaslighting posers or there really was something to this frustrating conundrum that I have not discovered. Sheer frustration kept me coming back and trying it again and again, and still the tester strip kept giving me the same unimpressive data every time.
Eventually I discovered that the problem is not the fragrance or its relation to what is considered masculine or feminine. The problem was (1) the tester strip and (2) the descriptions of lipstick and purses bandied about which were adversely affecting how I looked at this fragrance.
It turns out that DHI's opening is not amazing, nor is it even the good part. So my first mistake was judging it by the tester strip at the store. I had to spray it on my skin and then wait for it to do its thing. That is when my perspective changed. The heart and base notes are what make it good. Further, these notes are NOT lipstick, women's purse ... women's anything. They are buttery smooth and creamy with wafts of vanilla, chocolate and praline with a perfectly understated sweetness.
Now I was beginning to understand what people where talking about. DHI is not one of those fragrances you spray and instantly understand. It's slow. It blooms. It takes time. And while it certainly does project, it may not even be evident that you are even wearing a fragrance, as it is more of an atmosphere. It doesn't attract by shouting "Notice me! I am an awesome scent!" Rather it sneaks under the olfactory radar and leaves brains around you quizzically struggling to process the signals ... "Hey, wait ... what's this delightful thing I am catching? ... Where's it coming from? ... How do I get more!?" It lingers and wafts, dances and changes.
So it's not a question of masculine, feminine, lipstick or purses, but rather the unique and extremely pleasing impressions it creates for you and those around you. And DHI does it well, with subtlety and class. I'm glad I finally have a bottle. And I am also glad that the emperor is indeed wearing clothes after all.
Update Feb 18, 2023:
I take back everything I said about the opening. It's incredible. The whole thing is incredible all the way through. This is my favorite fragrance now, of everything I tried. I like it better than Dior Homme Parfum, which while actually being superior, is not as practical day to day because it seems made for special occasions.
After being exposed to enough different fragrances for almost a year now I can see why DHI is so special. I just hope they don't reformulate it now. Guess I need to get another bottle.
JackedHarlow
Dear Christian Dior,
Please release this in the United States. I want to get my grubby American hands all over it. When I go to Nordstrom and ask if they have this and they look at me as if I've suddenly grown two heads, I weep for you. Stop insulting my intelligence with all the Johnny Depp Sauvage bullshit. I want to smell like an interesting man, not a high school locker room! I need the harder stuff! I'm not a little baby, I can handle it!!!
Tricky2beat
This is the most overrated sent I have come across.
magnusmagnus
I got given this for Christmas and was exciting about trying it given the overwhelming reviews. After three wearings this will never be something I enjoy. To me it smells like someone vomited into a make up bag. I'm not sure why so many people want to smell like that. However, people seem to enjoy it and I got compliments from it, which to me was bizarre. This fragrance will remain a big mystery for me.
ObiWanCannoli
Hmmmmm...hmm...no sir, I didn’t like it.
I bought a sample vile, before purchasing this. There is no denying it is of excellent quality, and I’m sure the perfumer hit the mark on what he was striving to make. This is one of the highest rated fragrances on this site. For me this is way too much iris, and it leans too feminine for my taste. This puts me in mind of an expensive old fashioned lady’s perfume. If the right guy was dressed in an expensive suit he may be able to pull it off.
This sits close to the skin. It lasts for a long time (after two hours, and three scrubbing I can still slightly smell it on my arm). Not a safe blind buy, try before you buy. Some love it, but it’s polarizing.
Patj1994
Uhhhh…this stuff is supposed to perform well? I just got a brand new bottle in a sealed box and after 4 sprays, this stuff was gone in under an hour.
The makeup bag/lipstick iris note is also so overpowering and off putting to me
Skilaphil
Tested this on my way back from Europe.. Wayyy too sweet/feminine for my taste, not wearable IMO..
I do however have Dior Homme (regular) on my buy list, which tones down the sweetness, feels mellower, more masculine
