I recently bought a sample ansy husband loved it so I bought a full size 200ml after reading the reviews and notes about it's longevity. I have three others from the Dior Privee line and this is the lightest, and stays close to the skin. It is beautiful though. The dry down is a lovely as the tops notes. Very feminine and a great representation of cherry blossom and rose. The green at the beginning is bright yet soft.

Miel de cerise

I bought a sample without checking the ‘reminds of’ section 🙁 almost identical to Forever and Ever, which I already have a big full bottle of. Unnecessary sample purchase!
Sakura though projects like a beast (strictly in comparison with other similar scents) considering that it is a floral-freshie.
If I didn’t already had the Forever and Ever, I’d go for this one instead: better performance!

Funny story: my husband came home a couple of hours after I sprayed it, and commented about the lovely scent that fills the house 🙂 good performance indeed

violeteme

I am surprised that description doesn't include fruity as a quality, as cherry blossoms in perfumes usually smell softly fruity and this is no exception. There is a soft fruity-sweet tone underneath. I can easily detect a mimosa too. Softly powdery, yellow flower infused cherry blossom. Quite pleasant, I wouldn't say it smells like Forever and Ever, however these perfumes are definitely from the same category.

Lala2013

Strikingly similar to Dior Forever and Ever .
This is a springtime fragrance . It’s very light young pink rose scent ,crisp and airy with a soapy base. Romantic even.
When I close my eyes and smell it from my clothing, it is quite like a fabric conditioner , which I actually
love❤️ Very gentle and comforting .

Clare101

Smells precisely like a soapier version of Forever and Ever. Love it.

belinay

this smells like a baby to me it’s such a nice scent

Bolusm

Smells exactly like my blue Nivea body lotion. Perfect for night time and after shower. On me the rose stands out more and I was hoping the cherry will dominate but it is a very comforting scent.

bkmoth

Testing this out with a decant. The opening reminded me of Frederick Malle's En Passant, a slight whiff of wheat and something green, although not as extreme as cucumber. If this was all there was to it, I'd have written Sakura off as another gorgeous powdery Dior. But the progression really captivated me! The wheat fell away into something more clean and floral, combined with a touch of woodiness, like the actual buds of the cherry tree (as opposed to an open blossom). It was complex. I think I'll try to find a 7.5ml bottle.

verzosa

Sakura might be everything I look for in its name. I have an obsession for cherry blossoms and have been looking for a perfume that captures its spirit. I've tried many sakura centered fragrance, but nothing else comes close to the idea I had in mind.

All the notes seem to harmonize, coming together as one in an exceptional idea for capturing its essence. I didn't think I would like this as much as I do when opting for a sample, but I'm seriously addicted to how the powder is executed in this scent.

It could be perceived as boring; I however find Sakura very clean, pretty and inoffensive.

Lafarha

It reminds me of luxurious rosey scented wet wipes

melissir

Even though actual cherry blossoms have no scent, sakura captures the feeling of their beauty. It's a soft floral thats balanced well. Even though it's soft and somewhat powdery, it lacks warmth. Like how cherry blossoms bloom as winter fades away, there is a note of green in here that gives it a sort of briskness or chill. It's a beautiful scent, but more longevity or sillage for its price would be better.

Taurien

Sakura is a clean perfume that feels very distinguished, elegant, feminine and romantic.

It is a very floral fragrance and represents a bouquet of many colorful flowers. Rose, cherry blossom, violet and mimosa are very noticeable to my nose. It is the dance between these last two flowers, the violet and the mimosa, that takes center stage as the drying of the perfume progresses. The composition turns out to be slightly powdery.

On my skin it has a moderate sillage, although applying generously to achieve it, and a good duration, about 10 hours.

In the drydown, Boldly Seoul by Zara, whose two predominant notes are also violet and mimosa, bears a certain resemblance to it but, in general, Zara's is a sweeter, honeyed, rough and linear perfume.

Right now I'm using a 5 ml miniature and when I wear it I always think that maybe when I finish it I'll have to get the full perfume, although there is something that holds me back. Perhaps despite being pretty, I see it as too simple in relation to its price, which is quite high for belonging to the exclusive Dior line.

Dior Sakura stands as a poignant representation of Dior's private collection, distinguishing itself with unparalleled elegance and uniqueness in comparison to its more commonplace, run-of-the-mill perfume lines. Dior Sakura is not just a fragrance; it’s an experience, a journey through the cherry blossom-laden paths of Japan, imbued with an elegance and refinement that is quintessentially Dior. For those who, like me, revel in the allure of clean, floral fragrances that encapsulate the ephemeral beauty of blossoms, Sakura is an olfactory delight that unveils the nuanced charm of cherry blossoms in the most sophisticated way possible.

Upon an initial olfactory encounter, some might perceive a certain intensity, possibly contributing to the claims of it being overpowering. While others may find the initial olfactory experience a bit intense, I urge them to explore beyond the preliminary perceptions and delve deeper into the aromatic tale that Sakura weaves. This fragrance does not seek to dominate but to harmonize, creating an olfactory tapestry that is both delicate and enduring.

Sakura, for me, encapsulates a serene journey. The initial impact is brisk, yes, but it’s a fleeting moment before it delves into a nuanced symphony of scents. The dry-down is where this fragrance truly comes into its own, transforming into a sublime concoction that is redolent of cleanliness and the sweet, airy aroma of cherry blossoms wafting through the gentle breeze of Japanese spring.

Each note is like a delicate petal, contributing to the overall bouquet but not overshadowing the others. It's a harmonious blend where the cherry blossom notes dance elegantly with other floral whispers, creating a scent that is clean, fresh, and utterly mesmerizing.

I imagine walking through serene fields awash with the soft pink hue of cherry blossoms in full bloom. the sillage is impeccable. It does not announce its presence with a blaring trumpet but rather with the soft strumming of a harp, creating a magnetic aura around the wearer, inviting, not imposing. The longevity is commendable, allowing the wearer to be enveloped in its subtle embrace throughout the day.

It is a fragrant ode to the cherry blossoms, reflecting their transient beauty in a bottle, allowing the wearer to experience the serene elegance and refined subtlety of a Japanese spring.

Lilah_lilah2023

Nice, fresh and floral. The cherry blossom notes are indeed stronger than other notes in it, but overall it fades too quickly and isn't strong enough as a perfume. Kind of boring, for its price. Reminds me a bit of Chloe, but way less strong. Not my favourite.

MadameMerola

I just got this delivered yesterday and it was a blind buy because it was available on a huge discount. I read up on the reviews like crazy and I was praying that I would like it.

The first spray was on my 15 year old daughter and I was like what is that unusual yet interesting smell? I sprayed it on myself and I was like this is green, unfamiliar and not normally what intrigues me.

I decided to be patient with it and see how it progresses. I kept getting wafts of it for the next two hours and it just kept demanding my attention to be sniffed closer.

I have won it for an entire day and it has progressed from being disappointing to interesting to like already. Surprisingly, I can smell it on me for over 6 hours, so the longevity is better than I expected. I honestly can’t tell you what the notes I am smelling are since I don’t know what 🌸 cherry blossoms smell like. The notes are so well blended together that nothing stands out to dominate.

I am looking forward to seeing what I can layer it with to make it even more unique but so far, I am not mad about getting Sakura. But I definitely won’t buy it at full price so grab it when it is heavily discounted. I got the 125mls of Sakura and La Colle Noire. For someone who loves heady, powerful scents with Oud and strong notes, it’s a lovely surprise to be captivated by this very soft yet pretty scent.

Enrium

Sakura is a light, inoffensive floral, nothing special and certainly not worthy of the price. While pleasant and subtle, it is underwhelming. I expected a prominent cherry note, given the name, but instead it consists of green-tinged, transparent white florals.

Sakura opens with slightly aquatic florals on a dewy green background. I get soft jasmine and some sweet, watery rose. It is like rosewater. The hedione becomes dominant - a clean, aquatic slightly synthetic jasmine-like note. I don't get much cherry.

It becomes powdery as it progresses, but with little development. I get some weak mimosa, but very little violet, just some powdery greenness in its later stages. It fades to a musky skin scent with soft woody notes, with remnants of the florals remaining until final fade. Sillage is intimate and longevity is moderate.

A feminine spring/summer green floral, this is pleasant but unoriginal and underwhelming. Overpriced and nothing special, if likeable. 2.5/5.

Tasherapd

This is a very green slightly floral scent with just a touch of powder. This is an okay scent. It’s definitely not worth the price. It lasts about 1-2 hours on skin.

denisa_iv

I don't know if what I'm smelling is cherry blossom or a mix of jasmine and rose with green notes. A fresh and bright floral, a little sweet and not as loud as other floral or white floral perfumes although if you don't like those ones this is probably not for you either. I wouldn't really say it's powdery, maybe only a little bit. Not much to dislike about it apart from being a little generic, somewhat linear and not worth the money for me personally.

TheEclecticNose

Honeyyyy... we need to talk about Ms. Sakura for a minute. When I TELL YOU I feel like a luxurious b when I put this on at night... let me paint the scene this fragrance gives. Wearing this is like walking barefoot on black tile on a cliff side mansion in L.A., it's giving Frank Lloyd Wright architectural home, wearing a silk robe walking to your bathroom with LED lights behind the mirror. You spray this fragrance on and the scent instantly provides therapeutic relief to a long day of maintaining your economic stability. It reminds me of a subtle floral skincare fragrance, with a bit of a makeup bag depth, the scent of your mom and woman figure when you were a child (granted you were close to a womanly figure) while they're taking off their makeup and putting on their skincare, this is a photorealistic scent that perfectly captures that scene. It oddly enough reminds me of my mom who is now in her 50's, and the boujee products she'd treat herself to back then. It is not a super bright floral, it's muted, almost like approaching flowers that require you to approach and sniff to smell - not a fragrance that will grab your nostrils from a mile away. It's my FAVORITE bed time scent because it literally reminds me of getting ready for bed after a day of work and treating myself well, it is self-care in a bottle. I did wear this once outside and it did get an immediate compliment which I found shocking, I do not care about compliments but this is the type of fragrance I'd expect would go under people's radar in terms of smelling on me but it was easily picked up from someone not close to me (at least a few feet away). It's expensive, it's work appropriate especially if you want a low key fragrance, it's absolutely beautiful, the privee line (excluding a few) are actual perfection scents in bottles, I'd say this lasts 5-6 hours on me and never gets old to smell. Get a sample at Saks or online before buying, there's many caveats to this scent but if what I said matches your need this is a MUST!

Blossoms Bright & Green

Dior's rendition of Sakura is quite bold and pronounced on my skin. It's a sharp breath of air saturated with greenery, a rather soapish almost LOTV tinged version of green, stemmy with a bit of white florals around it. This is a perfume that, while the cherry blossom heart note is strong, it's highlighted with a huge slug of hedione -- the bouquet is one of cherry blossoms, jasmine, and roses, but with blinding white hedione radiating around it.

The musk on the bottom is softened by an earthy violet, it turns into violets and cherry blossoms ... while this composition is a bit linear, its personality is incredibly bright and that adds some depth to the whole thing.

Very good longevity, it actually smells like Cherry Blossoms in spring ... I think I may need a FB of this.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

This is really nice for what it is and it's probably the best attempt at a cherry blossom perfume that I've ever smelt, but I find it somewhat watery, powdery and diabetic sweet in my opinion.

I don't usually say this, but I'd like it a whole lot more if it were slightly more sour and slightly less sweet smelling. It has the sort of vibe that Miss Dior Roses Bouquet has, but more elevated. It's most similar to Louis Vuitton's Dancing Blossom in my opinion, though. They both have that watery smell to it. This is quite a bit better than the Louis Vuitton though.

Like the Louis Vuitton perfume, this is super girly and inoffensive. You could definitely wear it to work, to lunch or to meet your grandmother at the hospital or at the nursing home. I wouldn't call it a sexy or a unique perfume, though. But the sillage is there and it does last a moderate amount of time on the skin. It's certainly more worth the money than Dancing Blossom is. Plus it's way less expensive!

This was the other of the two fragrances I gave my first cousin once removed, the other one being Dancing Blossom as you have already guessed. I think me and cherry blossom maybe just don't mesh well?

Eh... too safe, too agreeable, just... there. I really hoped I'd like it, as the idea of wearing a Sakura blossom scent in the spring sounded just right, but it's so far from my aura. Wonderfully pleasant for what it is, but faceless, elementary school teacher perfumes are not on my radar when there is so much excitement to be discovered in more complex creations.

daisybrown

petite petticoat, february air, white frosting with rainbow sprinkles, pink bunny slippers

klioux

Powdery beyond belief! Very cloying and soft, soapy and airy. The green in this is very slight dew and does not offer any relief from the mountain of powder, unfortunately.

This amount of powder honestly makes me uncomfortable, it's giving "sexy baby" in a disturbing way.

sakecat22

Airy spring floral. I'm personally still not a fan of this style of fragrance, but Sakura smells nice. On my skin there is nothing heavy or sour or off. It is beautifully blended and does a nice job of giving me the cherry blossom vibe. Just a lovely spring floral that lasts a couple of hours and allows me to smell good without thinking about it or worrying too much.

KatherineC

This is one of the most polite florals I've ever tried. It's also very lovely. It smells of real cherry blossoms blooming in February, the scent I associate as the first olfactory sign that Spring has arrived. The cherry blossom smells rosy and dewy, and the dry down offers an addictively powdery mimosa note. I've been using a 7.5ml mini splash bottle over the last two months, and I reached for it more than I thought I would. At first sniff I thought it was too generic, but I kept reaching for it. It's charming and soft and very feminine. Despite how much I've come to appreciate this scent, I won't be purchasing a full bottle, but I wouldn't pass up another mini.

SailorV

Cherry blossom scents are usually doomed to fall into the "nice and pretty, but not THAT remarkable" category. At least for me. The only exception is Amouage Love Blossom, which has a lot of other notes to elevate the cherry blossom. But of course, I'm very fond of the blossoms in real life. I mean who doesn't love that short time in spring, when whole streets are full of cherry trees in bloom, with petals falling to the ground like pink snowflakes?

So I'm still curious for cherry blossom perfumes with a special something and thought maybe Dior's exclusive line would deliver. It does not. It's nice and pretty, but not THAT remarkable. This Sakura is airy and dewy, very clean and bordering on soapy. But not really like bar soap, more like a cherry blossom scented bubble bath. A touch of transparent rose completes the picture, so it smells more floral than the usual fruit-infused drugstore cherry blossom.
If that sounds good to you, I think this might be worth it. It's light, but not thin, it doesn't fall apart or turn sour in the base like some other springy florals do. Instead it fades to a supersoft, fluffy skin musk.
To me it's just okay though, especially at this price point. It smells good, but it doesn't capture the cheer and fleeting melancholy of cherry blossom season.

LSAUG

Sakura for me is very, very cloying. Overly fresh, heavy on the cherry blossom, a note I struggle w/. I struggle w/ fresh and green accords. This is a well made perfume but just not my thing. A very fresh green, pink and violet floral. Slightly powdery, slightly musky but too much fresh green for it to be wearable for me. The hedione here is just overwhelming. I wish they dialed that back a bit. It is a well made perfume but I could never wear it, very headache inducing for me.

Dramaloladiva

This is so pretty🌸🌸🌸
It’s fluffy, floral and light and a tiny bit powdery but oh so light!
It’s the scent of Spring and I love it!
Yes, the sillage is non-existent, yes, it doesn’t project much. But you know what? It smells like heaven ☁️☁️

Yes, I own a full bottle and yes, I wear it pretty much during Spring/Summer and occasionally to bed because it’s so fluffy like a puffy pillow and cozy blankets!

Absolute love from me!

ckorp8

Yes, I know sakura doesn’t have a scent, but that doesn’t stop me from liking this perfume from MCD. It’s mostly jasmine and roses, but the blend is so perfect that it invoked an image of a pink flower and we can just tell ourselves that it’s sakura. A bit powdery but it’s understandable.

likesleet

light & blossomy. a safe blind buy bc this is universally likeable & exactly as described

ckorp8

Rosy concoction that I would have thought to be Diptyque creation instead for its green content. Very likable indeed, just Nothing to do with the Kabuki in its name.

Sierra_b

I wanna express my love to this perfume omg it's divinely balenced it's so good I can't get enough it's a miracle, from the entire line I waaay prefer Sakura cuz she smells like a citrusy sweet cherry&rose tea sprinkled with some soft with musk and some powdery notes and there you have a pure HEAVEN 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

Irisfvh

My boyfriend got me this beauty for my 31th birthday. This is just perfect for me. I only wear light floral scents and do not like anything too sweet.
It's so clean, fresh, soft, floral, pretty.
I smell the cherry blossom, rose, a tiny bit of violet and musk. Love!!!

upk

It's a rose rather than a cherry blossom. Rose clearly insists on the top, and Jasmine appears faintly. A powdery, smooth rose scent.

brokesta911

Dior Sakura (2018) - Powdery blossoms - If #lipstickrose had a twist, it would be this #francoisdemachy creation. As the name implies, it’s #cherryblossom yet the perfumer wanted to show different aspects. First, I smell texture reminding of the cherry blossom flower - fragile, soft and dewy. Second, it also reminds me of powdery cosmetics. Last, a technical appreciation on making the Cherry Blossom the star while balancing stronger floral accords: Rose, Jasmine and Mimosa. Often, simple is the hardest to do.

madamfleur

I’m looking to sell or swap a 125ml bottle. Dm if interested 😊

Perazim

Light, inoffensive, soft

Smells like light scented baby wet wipes !

smellynoob

Fresh sweet floral - one fit for all ages without the powdery overkill to make it feel “old”. It’s an enjoyable scent and has great lasting power.

Mademoiselle Pucelle

A perfect spring fragrance. A comfort zone. Light, crisp, fresh, airy, clean, modern floral. Very very pretty.

“The beauty in the average”. That’s what Sakura is all about. Sakura is mild, nothing eccentric is happening here.
Not very original, not very complex, not very strong, not overwhelming, not offensive, not sticky. Certainly not typical of its line either, but surely of high quality.

All that being said, it is an absolute floral delight. Mind you, this is coming from someone who’s not a fan of florals. If I were to judge this based on its notes, I would’ve had no interest in it. Smelling it is a whole different story. It’s an undeniable beauty.

I am inclined to disagree with the comments that point out poor performance and lack of sillage. Could be a question of skin chemistry. 3-4 sprays last a whole day on me. The sillage is average too.
Sakura has been getting me a lot more compliments than I’m used to. I’ve even been told I smell fancy-schmancy! Not bad!

Millapetrovich

I’m not really big into florals but this one is gorgeous! It’s very well blended, there’s not one note that is more prominent than the others which makes it very interesting. The dry down is sweet (not sickening sweet) and powdery. Definitely full bottle worth!

Linda 1991.

I am one person who cannot wear heavy fragrances as they give me heachaches and my sinuses start acting up. I tried this at the Dior counter and i loved it. it is light and airy, and this is office friendly.
I tested this on a card and it lasted 24 hours , did not try it on my skin though. I will be getting a bottle because i would like this to be my signature scent. I have been looking for a signature scent that will last on my clothes but will not be vulgar. I absolutely love this, it just is femininity in a bottle.

tandem_4x4

Not really sure why my perception is so different from others. For me it is a superdry very cold and crispy smell. I would say it is cherry blossom with aldehydes. Made in very modern way. Probably the best cherry blossom I ever tried.

Malifiscent

It was love at first sniff for me. Not everything has to be "in your face" and screaming its presence to be something good, and this is one of those cases where you just have to appreciate the beauty in simplicity to see it. I know of a few people around me that love cherry blossom scents, so I've had the opportunity to smell a number of them. To this date, Sakura from Dior is still one of my tops.

I find it to be the perfect representation of what I'd imagine cherry blossoms to smell like- pink, airy, very very subtle and delicate. It's kind of fresh floral being so dewy and airy, yet has such a fluffy finish to it- almost like marshmallows. Soft floral, dewy freshness, and musk; everything about it just soft, pristine and gentle, kind of like a very pleasant lotion. It is a zen pink garden, with a little waterfall feature and a pond, so subtly sparkling and serene. That being said, being such a delicate fragrance, the sillage is kind of terrible. But you know what? I'm absolutely fine with that, I wear it for my own pleasure, and it's a pleasant surprise for those who get close enough to me to get a waft.

s.pellegrino

This feels very generic. Sakura is a soapy, clean floral with a slightly aquatic element that gives it a touch of air freshener. Inoffensive, sure, but pricy, and with a sharp white musk note that gives me a bit of a headache. Although not really unpleasant, it is faulty of something worse for this price: it is boring. There are much better fragrances in this line.

brokesta911

As the name implies, it’s #cherryblossom yet the perfumer wanted to show different aspects. First, I smell texture reminding of the cherry blossom flower - fragile, soft and dewy. Second, it also reminds me of cultural affiliation with Japanese Geisha and their powdery cosmetics. Last, a technical appreciation on making the Cherry Blossom the star while balancing stronger floral accords: Rose, Jasmine and Mimosa. Often, simple is the hardest to do.

holocene

Very very soft scent. Everything about it is mild. Mild cherry blossom, mild aquatic, mild rose, mild musk. It’s nice but it’s just way too mild for me — I find it boring and unremarkable in every way. I would’ve been into this before I got really into fragrances. Would be good for those who like quiet and gentle perfumes. Sold it a few days after purchase.

blossomka

8.5/10. This is a nice, aquatic, mildly green floral. Sugar sweet dessert but not too sweet. Slightly woody. Floating fairy dust. Overall a likable fragrance that will not offend. Could be the feminine version of Dioramour. It excites me, but my husband wrinkles his nose so probably not going to buy a bottle.

Nessers

Testing it out now.

I instantly get the blossom with a hint of powder. Every now and then, the green notes. I like it, but don't love it.

Feminine for sure. A nice office scent.

Pacifica_

I love Sakura. Very delicate and sweet powdery cherry blossom. My only qualm is that the sillage is very small and it only lasts about 3-4 hours as a skin scent.

ETA: I swear to god my bottle of this is possessed though. I had the 7.5 ml splash bottle and that straight up exploded near the top at the first use. I had to transfer it to another glass vial which also exploded today near the top as I put it on. I only have about 4 ml left now after both explosions. What is Dior putting in this perfume?!?

Celestya

A lovely perfume for spring with notes of cherry blossom and roses. Very fresh, perfect for office. The sillage and the longevity are moderate. Pretty, linear and inoffensive, for all the ages, it is a classic scent.
9/10 for spring and women

acottong

A smooth, beautiful, and soapy floral! I don't have a lot of experience smelling real cherry blossoms so I can't say if this is an authentic representation. However, it's very pretty, and feels like something I can wear even during spring, since it's not overpowering and doesn't compete with the beauty around me. The only downside is it becomes a skin scent within an hour or so – glad I bought a sample, and not a full bottle!

danygurl06

I’ve been testing this one for nearly 6 months. The top notes are beautiful. It smells so similar to a pink bottle of Johnson & Johnson original baby lotion but more grown up.

The dry down is the problem. A strange green note pops up. I don’t know what that smell is. Overall, this smells feminine, delicate and fresh without smelling mature. It takes about 10 to 15 mins for that strange note to rear its ugly head. It smells like a savory spice like oregano or some type of Italian blend. It does not mix well with the soft and gently sweet cherry blossom.

If it weren’t for that one “off” notes, this would have easily been fbw. Everything else about this fragrance is really nice. I’m not going to say it stinks but I wouldn’t want to wear it as is. I still like this fragrance from afar. I just don’t like it on me.

Gino Chi

In 2011, Demachy released a flanker of Dior Addict called Dior Addict to Life. It was eventually pulled out from the market 'coz he simply cannot beat the original Dior Addict EDP by the amazing Thierry Wasser (now exclusively working for Guerlain). In 2018, Demachy returned Dior Addict to Life in the form of Sakura. YES. Sakura is the reincarnation of Dior Addict to Life. I have them both. Very creative of you Demachy! After butchering masterpieces like Hypnotic Poison by the goddess Annick Menardo and Dior Homme by Olivier Polge (now the in-house nose of Chanel), you are also a ninja in returning your poorly sold bottles years back in preposterously overpriced bottles. Clap... clap.. clap...

P.S: I love your Mitzah and Feve Delicieuse though.

xxdarkstarxx

This is so beautiful yet simple. To me I think of cherry blossoms floating slowly down a clear blue creek with raindrops on the petals. It’s that fresh crisp smell of freshly rained Sakura. Wow I cannot live without this. It also reminds me something in my childhood but I can’t pin point exactly if a doll I had smelt like this? Probably.
My SA told me to spray this on my pillow and I will sleep like a baby. I tired it and.... I had the best sleep of my life no doubt. I’ll have to get the biggest bottle next time.

Update: My friend who was standing further away from me said “why does it smell like baby powder” and I said “oh it’s my fragrance”! He didn’t believe me until I said to come smell me. He said it’s super feminine and absolutely adores the scent. For sure it has some powdery touches. I showed this fragrance to my other friend and she loves it so much it will be her wedding scent. Sakura out of all of the fresh lighter scents from the private line seems to have the best projection and lasting power. This is my signature scent and cannot live without this effervescent scent. So clean, fresh and sparkling.

This gives me really mixed feelings. I guess they are mixed because this perfume belongs to Maison Christian Dior Collection; if it was another Cerise edition by L'Occitane (which is very very similar), I would just pass and not care at all. I expected a bit more from the private blend.
The opening is very floral, I can smell a soft jasmine blended with cherry blossom; there is also a sour note, like from a real sour cherry. The best thing about this fragrance is projection - it's not a skin scent; once I put it on my wrist I could smell it around, even though it's cold outside. Really little quantity of it is enough to smell it.
Then there is plain cherry blossom scent and that's it. After lush opening this fragrance turns into plain melancholic and sour melody. A bit of rose in the background with some citrus remind of Hermes Galope and recent Byredo Lil Fleur. I don't feel any powderness or sweetness which could give a flirt to this fragrance. Soapiness - yes. There is no cheekiness, it's very conservative, very 00's when they did not round perfumes with musk (think Gucci Envy, Burberry Brit Sheer). There is also no warmth for me. It ends up as an air fresher scent.
Actually, reminds me of another pricey cherry blossom "spray" - Amouage Love Blossom but greener and fresher.
I believe there are more worthy florals around.

First impressions: I really enjoy the smell of this one. Sakura is light, fresh, end ever so slightly sweet. Very pink & white floral, I smell cherry blossom and clean jasmine. I also smell a whisper of fruitiness in the opening. There is nothing screechy or indolic about it at any point.

As someone who doesn't love powdery notes in fragrances, I was a little nervous about all the powder mentions associated with Sakura. But I really don't get a powder here as an actual smell — not in the traditional sense. Though I could see describing the texture of the fragrance as powdery in some ways due to its softer vibe, I suppose.

Interestingly, the scent is extremely familiar to me. It took me a few minutes, but I figured it out. Sakura bears an uncanny resemblance to the discontinued Bath & Body Works fragrance, Night Blooming Jasmine. Sakura is much more nicely done; it lasts longer, the scent is more balanced, and the musk is lovely and smells extremely high quality. The opening is also a touch fruitier than NBJ. But the similarity is very much there.

It wears extremely soft and close to the skin, but it lasts. I put it on a couple sprays the night before and still got wafts of it when I woke up in the morning.

I truly enjoy the Dior private line, and own a couple of the others. And I enjoy this scent a lot. However, I did struggle with whether or not to buy a full bottle. I had a hard time with the price because of the scent's likeness to Night Blooming Jasmine. But I also couldn't stop thinking about Sakura. I sprayed my sample on again and bought a bottle.

EDIT: This also smells nearly identical to Dior Forever and Ever. I now own both this and F&E, and though there are some subtle differences, they are virtually interchangeable. Forever & Ever is much more reasonably priced though, so if you love Sakura but not the price tag, F&E is a great option.

A very pleasant floral scent, easy to wear to any occasion, and appropriate for work or more closed spaces as it doesn't project too much. I would say it has a fruity undertone before I'd say it's powdery. It leans a bit more powdery as it settles but not as much as I would describe it as a sweet, happy fragrance.

However, I would not purchase a full bottle for various reasons. First, it feels like a scent I've smelled before and definitely for less in terms of price. There are other much more complex fragrances from this house I would buy before this one. And secondly, it's quite linear. To the point where I got bored smelling like this the whole day. It won't offend anyone, and, what is more, people will probably tell you how nice you smell if they get very close to you.. It does give a great first impression. But to the wearer this type of scent is probably better suited for a body spray, a lotion or a bath product. Not so much a high-end perfume, at least not what I want from one.

Sakura opens with a green, soapy jasmine note less the indoles and ends up with a base of slightly powdery rose, subtly sweet violet and white musks and then stays that way until it is no longer detectable. Pink is the perfect colour to describe Sakura - not the poppy sort but more of a pastel pink shade, effortlessly elegant yet subdued.

This might not be the most unique fragrance, actually it's far from one, but it is undoubtedly lovely!

I don't know how I get a texture with this . . . . but, for some reason the initial blast of the spray smells a little bit waxy, or oily. It's not entirely unpleasant, but I don't know what to make of it.

I am not as familiar with the smell of cherry blossoms as I would like to be. But, I am trying to branch out from my floral comfort zones of rose and tuberose and try some different types of florals. I was given a small decant of this to try.

What sets this apart from the other cherry blossom scents that I've tried is the subtlety of the scent. It isn't that the scent performs poorly. It is detectable off the skin, but there's no amped up artifice about it. It is simple, sheer, elegant, slightly sweet and tinged with a delectable fruitiness. It is altogether lovely. And, if money were no object she would already be in my collection without a doubt.

For the present time, I will savor my sample.

Decided to finish the sample I had gotten from Dior last summer as I am still in the mood for florals. While I still think it is very pretty, it is now also coming across as very soapy - almost annoyingly so. Last summer it didn't smell soapy, so it must have something to do with the weather (20 degrees and very sunny). As I was taking a walk I kept getting strong wafts of soap. Don't get me wrong, I like soapy fragrances, but I don't want to taste them. Also, last year it didn't remind me of Forever and Ever. Now it does; like a stronger, very soapy, Forever and Ever, though it isn't sharp because it doesn't have Freesia in it. Overall, performance is greatly improved in cooler temps, though I no longer like the composition because of the soapiness, and also because it feels too young for me. I'm so glad I was able to test this out in two different seasons before jumping on a bottle.

I fell in love with the scent so much that I now own the biggest version of the bottle. I bought it in the Dior perfume boutique and upon purchasing they also provide a personalised touch by offering to engrave the bottle. I now have my name and a rose engraved, which is the most luxurious touch. Also, I am loving the sleek bottle design of this range.

The light pink colour of the perfume is exactly the perfect interpretation of the scent. It is so soft and delicate. The japanese cherry blossom is definitely the most dominant note. It is a very crisp scent, very clean and slightly sweet yet not at all overpowering. It literally reminds me of an early misty morning in Japan walking through a garden of fully bloomed cherry blossoms. It lingers closely to the skin and it lasts a very long on me. On clothes it can last up until the next day, which is amazing. It is such an easy scent for everyday when you don't want anything too much or too bold. Overall now it has become my go-to staple in my perfume collection. I am excited to try out the rest of the range too.

A soft and dreamy scent, slightly sweet. The cherry blossom is prominent with the rose, jasmine, and other florals playing supporting roles. 10 minutes into wearing and it becomes a skin scent. While I love the beauty of this scent I'll be damned if I'm going to drop over 200 bucks for something that disappears faster than a Calgon body mist. Thanks, but no thanks.

Smells great. In my opinion, femenine.
Never smelled sakura in real life, but to me it smell like a blend of white flowers, violet, and lily of the valley.
Maybe small similarity to handcream, but not really strong.
Considering presentation, very great and safe gift for a woman.

When I first tried it, it reminds me of a baby. It smell like some classy Johnson baby lotion, in a good way.
The jasmine note here is rather noticeable for me.

I might consider getting a FB when my sample runs out.

Sakura is a beautifully blended smooth fragrance. It’s so calming and soothing. The cherry blossom & mimosa balance each other out. Almond and violet give it warmth. There is also a light fresh green vibe in the background. Like just picked flowers. I’m truly in love. I think this would make a beautiful signature scent without being overtly strong. It’s soft but noticeable. On me lasts the whole day. I love when the wind blows this fragrance back to me. It’s heaven.

Christian Dior Paris - Sakura (Maison Christian Dior)

The stillness of a Zen garden.

Cherry blossoms, a slight touch of rose, and an array of wildflowers melded together revealing a scent so serene and pristine.

Of all the light florals presented to me at the Maison Christian Dior boutique, this one truly enthralled me. A sublime moment when you find beauty in subtlety.

sugarvenom82

Watercolor lilac and rose, it's a very serene and peaceful fragrance. Like meditating in a zen garden with cherry blossom trees.
After several wearings I noticed a mimosa note in the drydown that is very close to Diptyque’s Mimosa candle. So lovely.

leauduelle

EDP version of "Forever and ever Dior".
But more rose and almond vibe in here.

Very feminine, not overpowering, it's subtle and transparent. Truly a masterpiece in New MCD line.

GirlyScientist

Bought to be my wedding scent. It's gentle, natural, feminine, and romantic without being shouty about it. Relaxed and relaxing. The olfactory equivalent of a watercolor painting of a cherry tree in bloom.

RoRoSe

125 ml for swapping if anyone is interested.

Sakura really lives up to its adorable baby pink hue.

I don't know how cherry blossoms smell like, but whatever that Sakura suggests, I could believe it truthfully. It smells delicate, lovely, clean and joyous.

Sakura also smells very similar to one of Johnson's baby soaps that I once used when I was small - either the white, or blue, or pink one.

Projection and longevity are mild and about 6-7 hours.
