Smells IDENTICAL to Bianco Latte which I hate, but with some kind of an almond note. I hate both. It's too cloying, too lactonic to the point it becomes gross. The performance was not bad at all. Projection was good (not the best) while the longevity was fantastic. But yea I wouldn't recommend this at all unless you actually like lactonic fragrances. It's not even that vanilla either. It's more of a lactonic condensed milk oatmeal kind of scent. Just no.

Scent 4/10
Projection 7/10
Longevity 9.5/10

Bleh. This scent is kind of gross, and as another commenter pointed out, it truly does smell like brown sugar oatmeal after letting it rest on the skin for a bit. At best, it is a lactonic, vanilla Play-Doh. At worst it is a strangely spicy, brown sugar scent. Do not blind buy this if you are looking for a true vanilla fragrance.

warmcashmere

Really synthetic, with an off-putting note that I can't describe. It reminds me of Montale Vanilla Cake, which I didn't like, either.

Kathie_KW

It smells like the diet vanilla Yoplait yogurt and not in a good way. Super sweet but also very synthetic. I love vanilla and many gourmands but this is truly blech to my nose. I can't even finish a sample. I rarely say something is revolting but this one is to me.

Sodastream83

In the opening this smells like instant oatmeal with brown sugar and vanilla extract. I can't say I'm exactly thrilled to be smelling like soggy oatmeal. But then the caramelized sugar together with the almondy heliotrope have me smelling like a delicious madeleine cookie. It's wonderful.

Claudia967

Bleh, I love super sweet vanillas but this is one I tried to scrub off. It’s a sweet vanilla that’s playdoh, baby doll powdery, and bathroom cleaner all in one. Made me feel kind of sick

Tiffany.Tardy4506

Yall really lied on tiktok and Reddit about this one it’s like 90% play doh and the other 10% vanilla my cousin liked it and my brother and mom said it smelt like vanilla until I asked you don’t smell a play doh note and they was like “ ohhhh yea it does have that odd play doh note but it’s not a bad play doh “ my that’s what my cousin and brother said but they said it smelt good to them but to me and my friend we did not like it lol !! But if you like this scent or want to blind buy a tester by all means

vanillabimbo

i really liked this when i first got it but i hate the strong play dough smell in the beginning. i got anxious wearing it thinking everyone thought i smelled like play dough. to be fair the dry down is absolutely lovely but i find it really similar if not identical to vanille from solinotes and vanille from outremer, both of which i would reach for over this. if you are looking for a straight vanilla this is not the best option especially for the price. even if the dry down is amazing i just don’t think that weird heliotrope play dough smell is worth it.

r4quel_

if you want to smell like lucky charms get this! I truly get the lactonic notes, smells like a bowl of lucky charms, especially the marshmallows. It lasts 2 hours on me though but i love smelling it on my skin and clothes after. At first spray, i was stunned because, yes, it smelled a little sour. But that stage is so short-lived. Then the marshmallow goodness soon develops. I think this is perfect for layering, I would have to experiment and see what it pairs perfectly with. Still on the hunt for the perfect milky vanilla fragrance though

Beanie1991

Sour milk and play-doh.

Detman101

This is bananas...it smells exactly like "Montale - Vanille Absolu" and "Vanilla Cake" mixed.
Only difference is the cost...lol. That being said...it is DEFINITELY a good alternative to buying two $70-$80 Montale fragrances. Half the price for the two fragrances combined into a 100ml bottle.
Not bad...not bad at all!!

There is also something very....artificial...about the milky-vanilla tone of this frag.
It reminds me of my "ELDO - Ghost in the Shell" frag that has a very plastic and mathematically calculated version of a milkiness to it. Wholly robotic and artificial...though, to me that is the essence of "Cyberpunk" and is absolutely wonderful.
For me, this is the perfect vanilla for daily operations in my profession. Not necessarily inviting or warm, but still appearing attractive and smooth.
Like a beautiful full-figured mannequin...

UPDATE:
Okay, I have to give this fragrance its due respect. It doesn't just disappear like most vanilla fragrances...which is surprising. Most "Vanilla" fragrances last as long as a high-school virgin, even the expensive ones. To encounter a vanilla fragrance priced at this point that lasts longer than 4 hours is remarkable.
I am wearing it full-body with spritzes of "Mancera-Instant Crush" on pulse points and I can clearly pick-up the "CSP-VE" under the "M-IC".

Definitely picking up the 100ml next!!

pinkalpaca

Oh wow, now i realize that a lactonic kind of vanilla was really missing from my collection. This is a different kind of vanilla than the likes of montale sweet vanilla, vanille absolu etc. It’s milky and I can definitely smell the play doh as well. But i kinda like it and it scratches a certain olfactory itch. After a little while it turns kinda sharp/spicy on me. It’s also nowhere near as strong as the montales, a commenter below was saying it performs like a body mist and I kinda agree

loliirain

I normally don’t like lactonic scents as they tend to turn sour on me, but this one is very pleasant. It’s a sweet milky, almost cake like vanilla. Starts off rich and syrupy but becomes more airy and sheer. I get a bit of burnt marshmallow in the dry down. I actually find it less sweet than vanille abricot. Has that same distinct sugary vanilla DNA that Comptoir is famous for. I like it, but prefer the woodsy notes in vanille iconique.

dantar

Rather than smelling and performing like a $90 perfume, this feels more like a $16 body spray, or maybe a lotion. It sits very close to the skin, so layer it with something else if you want to turn heads. It kinda reminds me of baking vanilla box cake, not overly sweet or complex and smells like artificial vanilla. It's a nice smell, it just isn't worth buying in my opinion. If you want a subtle vanilla, literally just wear vanilla extract like some girls are doing. It's like $3 and you get a decent amount.

Kathie_KW

This smells like vanilla yogurt - specifically Yoplait. Very artificial smelling like the yogurt. While it smells quite a bit like vanilla custard yogurt - it doesn't smell lactonic but overly artificial and sweet. I'm sad because I'm looking for a strong lactonic frag without fruit. This looks like it might fit. Don't blind buy this.

karlovonamesti

I agree with Singabera that there's a heliotropin dimension to the early (first five minutes) phase of Vanille Extreme, but that rapidly gives way to a "cakey" ethyl-maltol and sugared sweets accord. I find this annoying, because it doesn't really smell anything like vanilla, or even an "extreme" version of it. It just smells foody and extremely sweet. Eventually a hint of natural vanilla essence pokes through the sopping clutch of battered beaters, but by this point I've pulled my bottle of Alyssa Ashley Vanilla for comparison, never a good sign!

Singabera

Lots and lots of heliotrope in the beginning, very marzipan-y floral. In 10 min vanilla takes over, quite synthetic one, reminding of vanilla essense for baking and kids sprays like BonBon from Malizia. Simple, cozy, but you shall like that type of vanilla to appreciate that one.

pluralfern

I don't get the play-doh note that other reviewers have mentioned, however I do get a *very* strong note of burnt marshmallow. The burnt note is so sharp and acrid that it overpowers the sweetness of the scent. I can't comment on longevity or performance as I had to scrub this off after 20 minutes.

Lsquared

Not a safe blind buy! Yeah, it's cheap, but don't play into the temptation. It's so synthetic & cloying. Had to scrub it off immediately!

Calliope72

This is a nice soft creamy vanilla with a slightly tropical vibe to it. On me personally, I smell coconut though that isn't in the ingredients. I don't get any play doh, but there is a bit of what smells synthetic and maybe that's what I'm smelling. It just feels like the beach to me. It's a lovely scent and I like it a lot. It's longevity on me is poor though. About an hour and for that reason alone, it's not worthy of its price tag to me. I want perfume that lasts at least 3-4 hours, but maybe I expect too much.

mamahousemouse

My skin plays VERY nicely with vanillic and lactonic fragrances, so please take this into account. This is the second of three CSP samples purchased directly from their site.

Fresh this smells like sugared vanilla and yogurt – reminiscent of vanilla fro-yo. Five minutes in the yogurt smell was gone, and it was sugared vanilla and warmed condensed milk, with a hint of scented-doll fragrance.

At 30 minutes I smell sugared warm milk with vanilla, and a hint of something green/floral... I'm guessing that's the heliotrope. The scented-doll fragrance is still there, but extremely faint. After an hour it smells the same, and had not changed after two hours. This was a skin-scent from about 4 hours until bedtime; lasting 14+ hours.

I could not stop sniffing this one. It's too pricey for everyday, but I would happily splurge on this with birthday money! It is SO sweet, the sweetest fragrance I've tried to date, but the milky notes make it warm and comforting – like a big, sugar-coated hug!

Blizzie99

The other reviewers are correct, it smells like vanilla cupcake scented playdoh. It’s appealing in a weird way but there are many other better vanilla perfumes out there.

cherry1985

My all time favourite scent, I have searched high and low for anything that might come close but aside from Choco Musk by Al Rehab I am yet to find anything that compares even slightly.

xo.annanicole.xo

This smells like straight up play doh.it’s so bad. I’ve tried to give it several chances and that’s all I get. I had to get rid of it. 🤢

ChocoLei

I decluttered it last year because I ended up getting that play-dough effect from my bottle and I was about half my 100ml, but now that I'm smelling it I'm really craving it. I don't get vanilla cupcake nor vanilla frosting, but I actually get vanilla and cinnamon butter cookies. It's so delicious. I used to layer this with a few spritz of Vanille Passion at work, back when I didn't care about wearing realistic gourmands in the office haha. People would walk in and comment on how the office smelled like cake, and I soon got associated with vanilla.

Whenever I would smell this, I would get very good projection and longevity. I would spray this in the morning and could still smell it in the evening. I would definitely overspray + spray on (dark) clothes though.

I now only wear full-on gourmands when doing errands, staying at home or hanging out with friends. I actually think about bringing this back in my collection, eventually. A 10ml travel spray or a 30ml will be more than enough, for the occasional VE craving :)

kkaattjjeess

I'm about to finish my bottle of this perfume so I thought I might as well write a little review.

I did enjoy this scent a lot, it's an easy grab, a simple vanilla scent with little else going on (quite artificial of a vanilla -like imagine Montale vibes - and because of that I wouldn't say it smells like cupcakes/cake, don't know what kind of cupcakes are y'all eating).

Doesn't project or last very long but it's still decent. I won't repurchase but would use it up if I got gifted it (or got it through a swap).

stephanienwc

Very realistic sweet vanilla cupcakes. Not sure if I'd want to smell like this all the time but I thought a small bottle might be worth having for those days when I just want people to eat me.

silkscarves

i literally just got this and i expected it to smell just like vanille absolu but it doesn’t imo. obv i need to give it time but for now idk if i like this. the initial spray is gorgeous it really does smell like buttercream but then it smells powdery… ik it says that in the notes but damn. not a fan of the dry down but let me calm down it’s only been an hour. hopefully i like it cause i hate failed blind buys

UPDATE: so the powderiness goes away after a bit so it’s fine.. but the performance is trash loll i thought since vanille abricot performed great on me then this would too. i’m gonna wait a few more days and not touch any of my vanilla fragrances bc i think i’m getting noseblind to them.

Killahnd

Can be man use this fragrance ?

marilyn62

I have been on a vanilla kick lately, trying to find some really good vanillas for my collection, and I happened to stumble across a couple of reviewers saying how much Vanille Extreme smelled like vanilla ice cream. I took a chance and blind bought a bottle. I was a little worried about the milk notes (milk notes have been known to smell sour on me in the past with another perfume) and also reading here that some people get a playdoh kind of smell, which I am also not a fan of (looking at you, Dior Hypnotic Poison). I REALLY risked it with this one, but I am happy to report that this is one of the most beautiful and yummy vanilla perfumes I have ever smelled! It IS vanilla ice cream! YAS! I wear it after my shower and to bed as it sits closer to the skin on me (I wish it was a little stronger, like my beloved Kyse Bonbons a la Vanille) and it makes a good sleep scent because it's very comforting. I can see myself getting the big bottle when I am done with this 30ml for sure!

Ferra_Verto

Lactonic vanilla bonanza; really sweet and milky, gets that distinct Playdoh feel right off top. It might be strange but I like it, feels a bit nostalgic to my nose.
Good sillage (around arms' length), it's been 2 hrs since I applied and it's already a skin scent, will need to reapply.
Best suited for cool weather.

AlaskanAngel

TOO SWEET. I have Philosophy FRESH CREAM and WARM CASHMERE; this is sweeter than both of them combined. There is also a butter note that I find unappealing. I can't wear this. Review of travel spray from a gift set. Decluttered.

thornfield

Strange opening, I think it's the alcohol that somehow makes this smell slightly sour, like vanilla greek yogurt for the first 60 seconds. That completely goes away though, and leaves a nice cake batter/sugar frosting/marshmallow fluff vanilla scent. My husband said I smelled like candy. Like a reviewer below said, it's cute. I like wearing cheapie vanillas to bed and this is perfect for that.

Thuchien1008

It just smells like vanilla. Vanilla milk cake, delicious. but no variation, straight smell. cute smell.

SuzScents

Okay. That's it. I'm done. This is the second CSP fragrance that I've tried that has an overwhelming Playd-Doh scent. I thought it was a fluke with Vanille Banane, but now I see that others get that same scent memory/association with both of these. We can't all be wrong.

CSP needs to either refine their formula or review their ingredient sources. If not, perhaps Play-Doh could just launch a line of fragrances.

Rhiannandb

Smells like vanilla cake frosting scented play doh

Millapetrovich

Straight up play doh, I don’t smell anything else.

LVB

I made my purchase from Sephora and I do not smell play dough like several others have noted. Definitely smell the heliotrope. It distracts from the strong, sweet vanilla. Wish it wasn’t there. Not headache inducing. A stranger told me I smelt of cupcakes.

OSM

It's not just me?? You guys smell Play-Doh too? Oh, thank goodness. Basically I liked it, except when that note would creep in to spoil it. That's got to be the heliotrope, right? Maybe I should start avoiding that one more

RikkiStar

I wanted love this. Sometimes it's okay, but after a while I detect that awful play doh smell. Otherwise it's smells like vanilla cake batter/cake. Maybe I'll like it better as time goes on but so far its just getting worse. Too bad.

vanillace

received a sample from ebay - after applying it to my wrist, i can immediately smell sunscreen. after a couple minutes i could detect play-doh 😞 and those are the only things i can smell from this unfortunately

belleroses

This smells like vanilla ice cream. Definitely very sweet and creamy.

takema

I really enjoy the vanilla in CSP fragrances. It's simple, sweet and dessert like. In Vanille Extreme you get a triple dose of vanilla with milk and sugar. It smells like creamy vanilla pudding/custard, or vanilla ice cream. It is a strightforward vanilla, perfect for layering when you need a sweet vanilla boost. There is nothing complex or interesting about this fragrance, but it is comforting, cozy and easy to like.

I am frequently complimented when I wear this one. It's uncomplicated and just smells like a dessert, so most people will find it pleasant. It's light enough that it doesn't become overwhelming and obnoxious, even whe overysprayed. I find it works well in all seasons and temperatures. It would make a great work fragrance for someone who wants to project approachability, sweetness and likeability.

The performance is pretty decent. It lasts for around 6 hours on my skin with projection of about arms length for about two hours. It then becomes a skin scent for the rest of the wear. I have found overspraying does help the projection but not the longevity.

The Comptoir Sud Pacifique fragrances are fairly priced even at retail. Often available at discount they are a very good value for easy to wear everyday fragrances.

HMY

this might be one of my signature perfume. it was blind buy and I was afraid of heliotrope notes cuz I just cannot have flower note in perfume (apart from Rose or lavender) rest of flower notes such as white flowers and etc. I cannot stand it. this is everything that its says; its vanilla, creamy, lactonic, sweet... nothing complex but so warm. luckily the heliotrope stays only in the beginning and very close to your skin (I think it only supports the vanilla) and once perfumes settles down, there is absolutely no track of it. I might re-purchase the bottle. I was lucky to catch a sale 30 ml for 35 eur :) so totally worth it

Siv7Stars

Milky vanilla, like what it says. I imagine this would be good for layering. To me the candle aspect others mention is very faint & doesn't put me off. This does sit very close to the skin though.
It bewilders me when some people say milk notes remind them of baby sick. All these perfume vomiting babies, what planet are they on?

Annkarih

I have been looking for a perfume that smells EXACTLY like bare vanilla from voctoria secret, in a perfume and not a body mist. This smells the same, TO THE T. The perfume is even a little better in my opinion, but almost identical. Im so happy!

NDStars

First blast of warm vanilla and some kind of soft floral.. I thought it was tuberose. Turns creamy sweet and still warm, powdery now. Not as deep and rich as Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanilla or Diptyque Eau Duelle but still a serviceable vanilla if needed in a pinch. It's more for younger skin, juvenile... a ju-vanilla, if you will. After a couple minutes, it's all sweet vanilla milk like a flavoured coffee creamer. Shrug.. it's pleasant for what it is, a sweet milky uncomplicated scent. Guys will probably love this one on female skin. Feminine and best for all weather except hot days.

f002961

I got this in their best selling discovery set for EDTs. This is a sweet milky vanilla with a kind of floral edge that makes it a bit waxy somehow. While I did not think of the vanilla candle comparison before reading other reviews, I do think it's pretty accurate. If you are looking for a regular vanilla sugar, I'd say Vanille from Outremer is more widely palatable and also more affordable. If you're a vanilla fanatic, I'd still say don't blind buy this. Get a sample. It's not that it's a bad perfume or very controversial -- it's really quite good! But it is a bit waxy smelling.

A Little Perfume

TL;DR: I've found a way to make this work...but there are some glaring issues that prevent it being full bottle worthy.

I bought a travel size of this blind on a whim recently, hoping to satisfy my craving for a simple, creamy and lactonic vanilla ice cream-style scent. This was one I saw recommended a number of times and remembered enjoying a decant of Vanille Abricot when I was in university. The notes exactly fit what I was looking for.

But...

The opening. There's a strong, waxy and synthetic opening note that I find so unappealing. I honestly never understood the candle comparisons I'd seen in fragrance reviews until I smelled the opening of Vanille Extreme, but now I know what people mean. It's like those cheap birthday candles you put on cakes as a kid. The most frustrating thing is that when this starts to dry down, Vanille Extreme is quite nice. Creamy. Gently sweet. Vanillic. Milky.

It's a light gourmand scent. There's a food-y quality to it, vaguely dessert like in a simple vanilla milkshake kind of way. I like the dry down. But on me it doesn't project at all and it fades quickly, so I find I have to bring my nose to my wrist to get that vanilla hit. And I enjoy it... but the performance isn't where I'd like it to be. Add to that the waxy opening and my hunt for a simple ice-cream vanilla continues.

Note: I have found this does layer really nicely over a richer, more substantial fragrance. I'm pairing it with my Kayali Invite Only Amber 23 at the moment and it makes for a really lovely warm spiced vanilla combo. So I will use up the travel size that I have, because I hate things going to waste. But I definitely won't be buying a bottle.

whaleambergris

I get like a cough syrup vibe from this. I dont like it

somefire

This is very waxy and synthetic, like a cheap vanilla candle. It sits close to the skin, and smells a bit milky and salty as the day goes on. (This gives it a vaguely play-doh like quality.) It lasts forever, and is pretty unassuming and unlikely to cause any ruckus in the office. I'd give this to a teenager who wants to smell like vanilla, but it's not really my thing.

Sugarbunny

I’m so sorry, this smells like baby barf to me.

carblazehell

This smells more artificial than other (similar) strictly Vanille scents. Not my favorite. Would much prefer Molinard or Outremers or Montale.

imperfect-angel

This is straight up Vanilla Extract that we use for baking! If you wanna know what this smell like, go to your kitchen cabinet, take out the vanilla extract and put it on your wrist and smell it. There you have it! Vanilla Extreme without spending a dime. For that reason this perfume feel like betrayal for me, can you really put vanilla extract into a bottle and call it a perfume?

luna_stella

Vanilla EXTREME is right! Lol, When you first spray it is is extremely sweet and smells like cotton candy, but it dries down into a much less intense, sweet and creamy vanilla, like a french vanilla ice cream. It also has surprisingly good lasting power (much more than the other one i've tried from this brand which was Vanille Coco) but poor silage. I can't decide whether I would purchase a full-size bottle or not because although it is delicious, I can't really see myself wearing it anywhere other than a carnival or a sweets shop haha.

EDIT: I actually love it because I find it much more creamy and lactonic than say, Sweet Vanilla from Montale or Vaniglia for Mazzolari.

fanntonyoscar

This blew me away! It’s usually a “you get what you pay for” situation with CSP in my experience (especially with amour de cacao, which I love for the scent AND hate for its performance). This one performs a bit differently, for whatever reason. It has that unique scent quality that CSP is known for producing, but with somewhat better lasting power. It’s an edible-type of vanilla with something *extra* to it, which most perfumers don’t get right, but it’s lovely here. The extra in this case is the heliotrope/milk combo, which I personally like, but I believe it’s highly subjective to preference. It’s a keeper!

Mashaismary

Vanilla ice cream in a perfume! The longevity is quite good also.

fairymeist

This smells like LITERAL oatmeal

VictoriaSmells

Vanilla, cotton candy, and crayons.

christinky

Wait for the drydown. The initial blast can be a bit much but the drydown is delicious. At first on me it smells a bit like burnt sugar or that marshmallow ice cream topping sauce that you can get in some ice cream shops. It's not super milky on me, though. I don't get the "yogurt/yoghurt" smell that another reviewer was talking about because yogurt has a sour smell and there's nothing sour going on here for me, so it must be more sour on some skins. It's a very sugary vanilla, marshmallowy on me. It's sweet and fluffy, fairly simple, a good one for when you're not in the mood to be challenged by one of your complicated niche perfumes. Good for when you just want fluffy, sweet vanilla, you're not trying to be sophisticated and you don't care what anyone thinks, because some days are just like that. Performance is decent. I wasn't expecting much out of an edt, but logevity is moderate.

newfragranceaddict

When I first got this I was like “WOW”. It definitely took me by surprise because it smelled like straight up vanilla flavoured yoghurt to me. Like the milk note was slightly sour smelling to my nose and I was a bit unsure of it at first but now I LOVE it . It is so freaking delicious and smells like ice cream. It is INCREDIBLY sweet but it never sickly and somehow manages to stay light and airy. The sugar in here is not a caramelised sugar or a dense sugar. Its that pure white granulated/cotton candy sugar and this is what i am assuming is reading as synthetic to some people. You have to like EXTREMELY sweet scents to like this. It is slightly synthetic but not in a bothersome way like for example “Girl of Now”. On initial spray it is heavy on the lactones but once settled on the skin it smells similar to Outremer Vanille but I much prefer this as it is slightly more complex. Longevity is moderate and once settled stays close to the skin. This can be increased by overspraying of-course 🤣. I especially love this scent for layering. It adds a milky creamy vanillic twist to every perfume you add it to and my favourite scents to pair it with are Z&V This is her and D&G Pour Femme.

EmilyRo2e

This fragrance smells exactly as one would expect - like vanilla milk. Not a bad scent, but I definitely would not wear this on it's own. It could probably be used to layer under other perfumes to give more sweetness, but for the price, you would probably want to find a cheaper one for the same effect.

XXYZZYX

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Extreme smells like milk, with a splash of vanilla extract in it. It's extremely lactonic on my skin, and doesn't really morph or change into anything else more interesting than that. I know milk is listed predominately in the notes, but I didn't expect this to literally smell like vanilla creamer.

My hunt for an affordable vanilla gourmand continues...

lyly62200

Je trouve que c'est pour moi le plus beau parfum à la vanille que je connais ,une vanille sucrée, crémeuse pour moi pas trop entêtente ,qui dure sur ma peau jusqu' a 10 h.Mon parfum signature. Je l'aime <3

Nnif

Lovely! Very milky vanilla scent. It's strong and the sillage is quite good, probably because I layer it with Honey from Demeter. One spray of each is enough.
Everyone smells it when I'm wearing it. People describe me as a walking Crème brûlée. Or like cookies.

JolieSucre

If it wasn’t so overpriced and so weak, this would be the absolute best vanilla perfume ever. Smells like a glass of milk with vanilla ice-cream- not sugary, just fragrant vanilla pod + hot milk. So good! Absolutely delicious, no question.

But at €40 a pop (for the small 50 ml EdT) I am not sure it’s ok, precisely as i love it and will keep repurchasing.

It’s a cult fragrance for a reason. Give it a try if you love gourmands.

DaringDaisy13

I agree with the comment below. This fragrance turned straight to play-doh on me.. Vanilla fragrances don’t usually react like that on me either.. I’ve always wondered what people meant when they compared fragrances to play-doh and now I finally know because of this fragrance lol.

Warmthandlight

If you tend to get the play-doh scent from some vanilla notes, this is yet another one. This one is a little better than most because of the milk notes, so you could at least try layering it. Ultimately, just play-doh though.

UPDATE: The more I wear this, the less I get that Play-doh scent. It’s a solid vanilla, and I’d definitely give it a try if you’re a vanilla lover.

Luna1024

I'm trying to find "The Perfect Vanilla Scent", so I ordered a few small samples of the most popular vanilla-centered fragrances about eight months ago, from the LuckyScent website. This was one of them.

There are different sides of vanilla, and I would say it's a very milky and a little powdery vanilla scent. Although there's no coconut in the notes, I can definitely smell a hint of it, and because of that, the overall scent has a tropical vibe to it.
To be honest, I find it a bit too artificial and synthetic: it literally smells like that little vanilla-scented car air freshener tree to me... Its sugary sweetness is a bit "too much", and it can be headache-inducing, especially in the summer. In my opinion, it smells a bit "cheap" - which is disappointing from a niche brand - but I have to admit, that it still has something likeable in it.

CSP Vanille Extreme is a sweet, milky-creamy, cozy, but also very simple and linear scent, which I find pretty forgettable. It's not the worst vanilla fragrance I've tried, but it's also definitely not the best. Because of its simplicity and slightly artificial scent, I also find it way overpriced.

Edeniade

I received a sample size of this because I am weak for vanilla gourmands and I wanted to expand my options. I am so glad @strawberryswitchblade brought it up because the second I applied this to my wrists, my brain immediately linked the scent to my IKEA vanilla tealights! They smell IDENTICAL.

After 10 or 15 minutes the intensity wanes a bit to become a little more powdery, but my brain cannot get over the association with my tealights. I'm not sure I will buy a larger size of this.

strawberryswitchblade

What a far cry from gentle Vanilla giants such as Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille, Xerjoff Shunkoin or even the cheapy Ciel by Ulric de Varens! It has an initial, overpowering artificial vanilla smell that reminds me of IKEA scented candles. However, after 15 min it calms down into a generic vanilla ice cream scent. I’ll use it, but only in combination with other scents. I’ve already tried it with Eau des Missions and I’m quite happy with the result. It tones down the sharp, annoying chemicals in Extreme and brings out the vanilla in Missions

I was able to try a spray of this onto my arm in Sephora today. It's a lovely, sweet, milky vanilla scent.

I got home, and my husband said "mmmmmmm! You smell GOOD! I want to eat your arm!" lol

So, I guess I have figured out what he enjoys in a scent, haha! ;)

It's my first time sampling a Comptoir Sud Pacifique fragrance, and so far it's lasted seven hours (and is now very much a skin scent). I will definitely buy a full bottle of this!

CygneNoire

Boozy, creamy, vanilla cake batter. That's it. That's the perfume. I can tell this will do phenomenal in the heat. I placed this in the crook of my arm to test it and have had it bent for about 20 minutes typing, stretched, and nearly gave myself whiplash since I turned my head too fast to smell what was emitting from my left.

It'll smell like plain vanilla extract for the first 5 minutes but give it some time and you'll love it.

Jessica_Jones

The opening smells to me like spoiled, sour milk. Then it sorta becomes pleasant? then it disappeared within an hour. Didn't give it a second try, didn't want to risk anyone smelling the sour milk on me.

ekowala7

I'm surprised I haven't left my review of this fragrance yet, as it's one of the oldest in my collection. This is straight up homemade Rice Krispie vibes - the sweet buttery, vanilla marshmallow of making Rice Krispies. I don't get a milky vibe - but more of a melted butter in the marshmallow with vanilla extract vibe. It is super super super sweet but it really is gorgeous.

Longevity is decent for me 5-7 hours, silage is moderate.

Overall this is a 7.5/10, I really like having this on hand to layer or bring out the vanilla in more 'masculine' fragrances in my collection.

missjudged

Just awful. As someone who only ever wears sweet perfumes, this is an artificial mess that hinges on suffocating.

The scent is so artificial and heavy in the air that it leaves a bitter taste in the back of my tongue. I have never had this happen before. I have no idea what it is but I regret blind buying a full 3.4oz bottle of it.

And on top of that, longevity is quite poor at 2 hours. Sillage is also bad--I have never received a compliment on this perfume. I hate it, I hate it. I have never hated a perfume like this before. It must be the heliotrope, because all the other scents are scents I know I like. God this smell makes me want to puke

Perfumedsecrets

Creamy wonderful vanilla that's as sweet as a baby. I wear this when I want to be comforting to myself and others, and smell inviting. Heliotrope keeps it from flying off into Candyland. Update: My husband smells Play Doh in the top notes. After he said that I smelled it a bit, like a very sweet version of Hypnotic Poison.

MinnieCay

I love this so much. It just smells like pure vanilla to me... perhaps with a bit of a caramelized sugar note. I really enjoy pairing it with Vanille Blackberry, also by CSP. It's a great layering fragrance. I think Vanille Abricot is still my favorite, but this one is definitely a close second.

sibaraa

too sweet to bear.. A big pass

ShinningLightOfThunder

It really is the cupcake vanilla scent, but this is why it is beautiful.

gelkita

Update : I have tested around 20 samples from Comptoir Sud Pacifique (bought directly from their website) and this Vanille Extreme EDT is the only one with a decent longevity and worth buying... all the other EDT are gone within 30 min !

PerfumeJunkie2b

This is delicious! Not gonna lie, it kinda smells like sweet (not overly so in my opinion), milky, cinnamon-y, vanilla-y play doh to me upon first spray & if I directly sniff the areas where I sprayed it (which I surprisingly don’t hate, lol). However, the aroma that envelops me is yummy! Once it settles, I still smell a sweet, realistic, milky, cinnamon-y vanilla (the “play doh” scent is only noticeable if I directly sniff the areas where I sprayed it, lol). In the dry down, the play doh-y scent is completely gone (the dry down is my favvv). For me, I’d say the sillage is moderate which is perfect for this fragrance in my opinion. Really like this!

gelkita

The best thing about this fragrance is definitely the Heliotrope heaven dry down I cannot stop sniffing 😊
I do like the milky vanilla opening but this warm dry down is what is going to open my wallet 😉

biankahgordon13

I can finally pin down how it smells when first sprayed. It smells like sweet baby formula. It lasts a good few hours, and in that time it dries to a mellow vanilla scent.

missjudged

I just got it today! To test the scent, I spritzed one spray onto my wrist and HOLY COW it smelled like a really cloying yankee candle. The sugar note makes the scent overpowering, in a way that even Pink Sugar never was. I love sweet smells, so I'm shocked that I found this so...gross. It's been about 2 hours since I sprayed it on my wrist and I can still smell it very strongly when I hold it up to my nose. The smell has calmed down a TINY bit, and now it's not so BAM in your face. The vanilla is showing through a lot more than the sugar, which is a plus in my book. I guess this is the type of scent that you need to let sit for awhile.

Akanksha_Chauhan

It smells like Cofee Mate French Vanilla, but you on putting would smell like a DREAM. It is super sophisticated and yummy. I have used it a couple of times, and by the end of the day also I can smell it on myself. It is one of those really comforting smells and not Pink Sugar like vanilla or those celebrity kinds of Vanilla fragrances, has no synthetic notes to it and the dry down is rather too good. I am actually very fond of this, does not make anyone offended but intrigued. High compliment getter. I mix it with Coco Mademoiselle also (2 sprays of CM), and then my friend......ooooooooohhhh, it becomes even crazier, I keep sniffing myself all the time, on top of that small bursts of beautiful aroma keeps originating every now and then. It's just perfect.

cara94

Hmm...

I was hoping for somethng along the lines of a boozy or bourbon vanilla.

This is definitely a cake batter vanilla. Very yummy and the way I've actually used this is to layer with other scents because I can always rely on that cake batter note to go with some of my other simple smells.

Since I own a lot of inexpensive perfumes, I layer this with them to make them a little more luxurious. Like Katy Perry's "Meow" which is mostly just pear on my skin. I layer this under it and it turns into a fruit tart with a creamy underlayer.

It's nice on it's own, but only spritzed behind my ear on on my bra to come off more as a skin scent that you catch now and then. It makes me happy to smell it, but it's for the most part not a stand alone to me. Has decent lasting power, sillage is moderate but fades after about an hour to be softer.

Daisylinne

Oh, my God! This is my most successful blind buy to date! It is a straight-up LOVE - the loveliest love! Wow, just wow! I keep smelling my wrists and I simply can't believe how good this is. The creator behind this, Jacques Lions, is a genius!

You know that feeling when you buy a perfume solely because the notes sound good, it arrives and you test it, praying it is not a failure? Well, there is nothing more satisfying than crushing that feeling to the ground. When I first sprayed this, I was hit by the truest, creamiest, milkiest, butteriest vanilla I've ever had the chance of smelling! I went "Mmmmm, this is so good" immediately.

Vanille Extreme smells like all good vanilla things: cupcakes, frosting, ice cream - all infused with the richest vanilla extract on the market. It is a straight-up gourmand - my skin and my clothes smell completely edible, how crazy is that?!

And it only gets better with time - it evolves into a profound vanilla, that brings me back to an uncertain, but happy place in my childhood, and gives me tears of nostalgia for something I never realised I lost - maybe my playful naivity or maybe the vanilla pudding my mom used to make, the one that I never get quite right when I try to do it myself. It also awakens a deep wanderlust in me, making me long for riding in a car with my lover, in the middle of a summer night, the mountain on one side and the sea on the other. Very few perfumes manage to evoke so much emotion in me, but this one - in all its beautiful simplicity - managed to do it like no other. I am so taken aback by its beauty.

And if my love for it wasn't enough, get this: as soon as I sprayed it and went out with some old friends, one of the guys said: "What are you wearing? It is so, so good, I noticed it as soon as you walked in. I need to know the name of it, so I could buy this for my future girlfriend". After that, he tested it on his skin out of curiosity, but wasn't as impressed, saying that it smells more like car refreshener on him and that it smells better on me. One or the girls in the group also said, after smelling the cap of the perfume: "This is so intense and sweet!".

No idea how long this lasts, as it's only been a few hours since I sprayed it. Now please excuse me while I go to sleep in vanilla heaven!

Nataja

Love at first sniff! Definetely has that yellow cupcake scent. Compliments everywhere..

Vanilla panda

Very first reaction was utter shock and disappointment. That vanilla profile reminded me spontaneously of Monogotas de Vainilla, a 2 euro vanilla frag from Mercadona supermarket (in Spain).

The latter is a mix between doll head and boozy, fake vanilla. I left a few sentence review in Fragrantica, btw.

Glad I ordered a sample only of Vanilla Extreme, because I really was about to blind-buy the full-sized version!

I was expecting a creamy, vanillic whipped cream with ineffable floral aura, to replace my Philosophy's Fresh Cream.

Despite being bakery vanillas, both are radically different.

Vanille Extreme is coumarine posing as vanilla extract, the dark, boozy kind with sourish caramely undertone. Pretty much identical to Monogotas de Vainilla, only less aggressive.

Fresh Cream is transparent vanillin flavoring, the trademark ingredient in Americana sponge cakes.

Contrary to Fresh Cream, Vanille Extreme is straight white sugar, with no creamy consistency or lactonic taste.

On the opening, heliotrope gives off that tanginess typical of fermented dairy, akin to coconut yogurt, minus the coconut and the milk.
That's the nicest part to me. But partIy because of it, I couldn't help finding that cheapened the frag even further lol.

1 hour ½ later, I couldn't believe it smelled almost exactly like Monogotas de Vainilla on my skin!!!!

If you like this vanilla profile, go for the cheapest option…
Again, I'm relieved I didn't dish 70 euros on Vanilla Extreme, ppfffiiioouuuu!

jg2758

I don't know why I dislike this so much. There's a fruity undertone that just doesn't work, but I can't identify it.

sophiesmystery

EXTREME foody vanilla! It’s gorgeous but very young and juvenile in a good way. Starts off super sweet, like cupcake batter, yolky and milky. I get Play Doh, sprinkles, birthday cake, vanilla iced coffee, confetti, frosting, buttercream, simmering milk, bubblegum, whipped cream. I have tried a lot of vanillas and this is very, very vanilla. It is playful, sweet and warm, spicy, innocently sensual, and comforting. It makes me laugh! What a fun light hearted fragrance! Not as sweet as Pink Sugar though, but it is so fun. If you’re having a bad day, wear Vanille Extreme.

jashleysoto_11

I personally like this scent, I just with it lasted longer on me! When I wear it, though, I must mention that to others, I've been told that it smells like yogurt, cake frosting, or newly baked cookies. A very sweet gourmand scent!

Mbrock

This smells very good but the longevity isnt there. Honestly I like Outremer Vanille better. It lasts longer too and it is cheaper. If you have one I dont think you need the other.

OlfractalInfemme

Smells like a toasted marshmallow cream, one of my favorite smells! And no calories!

;)

From a self-proclaimed vanilla junkie, this was a let down. I don't get any of the yummy notes everyone is talking about. It smells like baby dolls. Dry down is acceptable and I will use it up, at home, where nobody can wonder where the dollar store candle is burning.

miako

I've been lusting after this for god knows how long, just the name was enough to get me drooling!

It just wasn't available anywhere near me... but one day, an unnamed angel (someone on an e-bay like site over here) put up for sale, TWO BIG ORIGINAL (aluminum) bottles in PERFECT condition with the original box and plastic wrapping intact..!

so naturally I snapped it up in a split second. But to be really honest, I felt a bit nervous until it arrived.. I wasn't fond of vanille ambre (glass bottle).. what if was like that one? or what if it's a burnt rubbery playdoh-ey mess like some people had said on this thread!? I'd have to chuck 2 huge bottles of something I'd wanted for years!!!!

but I really needn't have been worried at all- this is nothing short of a gourmand miracle. I feel like the most deliciously fragrant vanilla cake batter... which is like the highest compliment you could ever give a gourmand-nut like me.

I have Demeter's vanilla cake batter too, but this one is a little bit more refined. Demeter's is no less wonderful (oh how comforting it is on a bad, bad day!), but this one is a bit less toothache-y. If it were a recipe, it would be with a bit less sugar, more butter and with better vanilla extract. And the most important thing... wait for it, wait for it... it lasts for hooooooooooooooooooooours!!!!

a rock solid win!

PinkRainbow

Soft and milky vanilla. Reminds me of a soft Spring evening breeze. Nice. A good addition to any collection.

EnergeticCrab

Sickeningly vanilla. I used to wear it but have been recently getting rid of my more sweeter smelling perfumes. If you are looking for a vanilla that is simultaneously one-note but also complex, this might be your scent! Would probably be good for layering with other things. Better in the summer and warmer weather, IMO.

paneradfisk

Almondy heliotrope is very prominent on top of the, I'm sorry, quite bland sugary vanilla. I can't believe heliotrope is voted least noticeable, it's absolutely the main note on my skin, to my nose. When it meets warm air I can certainly find a hint of warm, buttery milk but it's not prominent. Longevity and sillage are both poor, go for the EDP instead. I quite enjoy many of CSP's perfumes, even though if you smelled one you smelled all, kind of. When you find a scent you like (Amour de Cacao, Vanille Abricot) it's frustrating when the sillage and longevity are disappointing.

Tremere

Question at first sniff: Do I want to smell like vanilla cupcake batter? Well, yes, obviously. Sadly, this just doesn't love my skin chemistry, transforming from a perfect childhood memory of licking the spoon to a horrid, plastic mess. On me, it's a scrubber but I do hope it works for 99% of everybody else as it's a lovely idea.

soobee11

Spritzed lavishly from my freshly purchased bottle, I inhaled with delight the rich, cakey, vanilla...then five minutes later, sniffed my wrist and recoiled from the scent of burnt band-aids! It was a horrible WTF perfume moment. Burnt band-aids! Immediately returned the bottle to its box, and will be shipping it back to Sephora in the morning. SO disappointed!

rosewithorns

Since acquiring Vanille Extreme a couple of years ago, I think I've worn it only once or twice. However, I was going through my collection, having decided to get rid of all the perfumes that weren't loves for me, and I gave this one another shot today. It was unfair, I thought, to have dismissed it so quickly at first; how many perfumes did I hate or dislike at first only to fall head over heels for them years later after I'd given them away? Too many. Well, this time around, I haven't fallen head over heels in love, but I definitely want to keep it around. For some reason, I expected it to have a very chemical smell, but it is nothing like that. It is a surprisingly airy and fluffy fragrance, just waft after waft of milky vanilla goodness. Vanille Extreme is very lightly powdery on me. It smells like a well-blended combination of sweet milk and pure vanilla extract. It is sublime. If you're into layering fragrances, this would be a good one to pair with others when you want to accentuate the vanilla note.

raw umber

The newest version of this (glass bottle with blue sticker label) smells exactly like yellow cake mix, complete with frosting in a canister. Or more specifically yellow confetti cake, with super sugary vanilla confetti sprinkle store-bought frosting. A little salty and buttery too.

This is such a profoundly sweet creamy powdery vanilla scent, I feel like I died and woke up at a five year old girl's princess themed birthday party. This is definitely not safe for any environment where you want people to take you seriously. It's super playful and STRONG.

Confetti Cake Cannon!

SumoTigerCat

My ice cream loving soul has been deeply satisfied today! I received a 1 oz. glass bottle (original) of this delicious milky/creamy potion, and I am wild for it! Reminds me of my favorite "Blue Bunny" ice cream confection that is topped with dark chocolate. This is just like that rich ice cream under the chocolate. Now, I am new lover of gourmand scents, and this... just about perfect. Not too sweet for me, very real smelling, perfect vanilla... not at all synthetic on my skin. Can't comment on longevity as I've only had it on for about 1/2 hour, but sillage is decent so far. I can also see using this as a base for other scents if I want a little more creaminess. Wonderful!

Shawtylicious

Reminds me of an almondy vanilla milkshake or Madeleines, very very similar to L'erbolario Mandorla that I already own. Sillage is poor on me, probably lasts about 2/3 hours so I need to keep reapplying it. Overall a beautiful light, creamy, milky vanilla with a hint of caramel, lemon and almonds.

scented2014

i like this one the most of the vanillas of the line (compared to Coco, Pineapple and Apricot that i have tested ) it's the least sweet and not so much overpowering. i smell almond in it and bitter vanilla. as almond is not among the notes listed, i guess it's sugar-milk combo creates such impression.

pretty mini collector

I expected this to be like vanilla bean pods; so rich and dry. But what it actually is vanilla cake batter with some alcohol like baking vanilla extract. It's not bad, just sweeter than I expected.

Renata tang

Smells exactly the same as the Nestle "french vanilla" coffee creamer.

Filigree4Life

Smells really a lot like a smooth vanilla pipe tobacco, the heliotrope adding a faint cherry twist to it. My husband loved it and kept begging to sniff me. I asked him what it reminded him of that he liked so much. No, not baking or sugar cookies or any of those other delectable foodie scents. He said his grandfather's pipe. So there ya go, if you like that, you'll like this. This reminded me really a lot of a little perfume oil I got for $9.50 called Vanille, by L'Aromatheque. I think this is a very common smell and not satisfying if you are in search of a true vanilla. Very similar to Molinard's Les Orientaux Vanille.

nero77

A sweet, simple fragrance.

There are some fragrances which just feel good when you wear them. They can be comforting, warm and inviting... and they can make you feel good just wearing them. I think that Vanille Extreme is one such fragrance.

I find this very gourmandish. It is a sugary, sweet vanilla with heliotrope (the powdery, almond-smelling flower), which has a smell complimenting the vanilla in here. It is also milky, which reminds me of vanilla ice cream on a hot summers day.

I think that whilst the fragrance is a great example of a sugary, milky vanilla, I must admit that there are better, more sophisticated vanilla fragrances out there. Unless you want something very basic or simple, you can look elsewhere for more depth. Otherwise, it's a great, non-complex, linear, creamy, powdery vanilla which works well in warmer weather, just like vanilla ice-cream! You can find it discounted on-line, just don't pay full retail price for it.

villey91

This amazing scent smells like; hot cotton candy, tahitian vanilla ice cream, sweet almonds, "marzipan", sugary steaming latte with whipped cream and melted marshmallows ! <3

A Great scent, no matter what weather or season it is. Gourmand all the way.

Vanille Extreme has an amazing sillage and longevity considering it's from Comptoir's Vanilla line and since it's only an EdT. The EdP version lasts longer but it's not as creamy and warm. It's more musky and some how oceanic maybe. Some of the notes in it are different. It's simpler vanilla and almost one note and makes it have less sillage than this edT. But perfect scent to layer with other CSP scents! Vanille Abricot+Extreme edP is just amazing!!!

Compliments with this scent are guaranteeed. People have told me I smell like vanilla but also some have said I smell like sweet almonds, when I've worn this...

PS. People compare Extreme with (L'aromarine's) Outremer's Vanille, but I think it's way more like Vanille Abricot! More sugar. Extreme is creamy vanilla heaven!

lilaczebra

PS-I forgot to say that the perfect scenario for wearing this is: cold winter day when you put on a really soft knitted sweater and throw yourself on the couch (preferably with fireplace)with a cup of delicious coffee and a whole packet of choc chip cookies or whatever other treat floats your boat and procede to devour the whole lot. Also good for when you put your pjs on before climbing into bed in winter.

lilaczebra

The neverending quest so many of us are on to find that gourmand vanilla which meets our personal vanilliac requirements...sigh, it still goes on. I do like Vanille Extreme but unfortunately it doesn't give me what a lot of people have described in reviews. In fact, the top notes give off a strange play-doh/sweet/plastic doll type of smell which reminds me of some toy I had as a child. Thankfully it dies down and then settles into a sweet and rich vanilla though not what I would describe as buttery/cakey/cupcakey etc.. (if only!) It was a blind first buy from Comptoir Sud Pacifique and I think I expected something more refined and not so cheap and synthetic. On the other hand, it lasts quite a while. But the search continues.

RayF

How can anyone resist this summer-in-a-bottle! Pretty sweet and cupcake-y, but so simple and delicious! I'm wearing Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen lotion every day which has a distinct coconuty and tropical smell that actually works with this edt in a dreamy way.

enkhbayar.mishigdorj

When I wear this EDT I just feel like I am a hot caramel milk with vanilla flavour. It is very attractive to a foodies with sweet tooth. I enjoyed very much so. Satisfied sillage 10/10 and 7/10

saintleegray

I ordered this with the vanille abricot almost as an afterthought but it turns out I LOVE this. I don't get any spice, nothing but sweet creamy vanilla, thick and rich like a buttery vanilla frosting. I can see how this would be too sweet for some but if you love really rich, diabetic inducing scents you must have this in your collection. Absolutely perfect for layering as well.

Valentina_Dreams

I wasn't sure how strong of a vanilla this was going to be until I warmed to my body chemistry. Everyone is different, so on me it first smelled like warm oatmeal and brown sugar. It was a hot summer day when I first tried it on and I went out for a night walk. About a half hour later, I started to smell more like a vanilla flower showered in sugary milk, and just about everyone who walked by me complimented me on the perfume. In fact most people kept asking: "What is that delicious smell?" I didn't tell everyone it could be my perfume.

I have to be careful whenever I wear this because it does attract attention. I find that it's not the kind of vanilla scent that smells synthetic like many vanillas do. This is the real deal. Most compliments I get are from men. It's a foody, yet floral, milky, yummy, summery perfume. I recommend, but use sparingly. All you need is a little bit.

I also use Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla hair care -- paired with this vanilla scent, I'm like a delicious bon bon where ever I go -- a combination like this will also leave a scent trail all over your clothes. Not too harsh vanilla, just that comfortable vanilla.

artemiss

I honestly did not like this the first time I tried it, I thought it smelled fake, like Play-doh. But strangely, I found myself repeatedly drawn to the tester. 'Just to use it up and make room for more' and when that was gone, getting a rollerball as part of a promo 'just because'.
I am now on my second full bottle.
It's a dairy-gourmand, milky and sweet, with a creamy pure bakery-vanilla opening, like creme brulee when it's first in the oven. It evolves a bit in the dry-down, with delicate heliotrope chiming in and riffing a floral note.
I wear this by itself on lowkey days at the office and lounging around home. It is gentle and non-offensive like that.
It layers well with other floral vanillas in my palette, and when I am feeling the need to drown myself in vanilla, I layer it with Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace body spray and lotion.

allbookerka

This perfume is perfect for cold autumn/winter evenings. It's milky-sweet but not overly sugary at the same time. Comparing to other vanilla fragrances it's not overwhelming and does not have any dirtiness or sugar burnt notes. It's quite uplifting and reminds me of caramel candies :)
If you are looking for 100% pure vanilla, that lasts long without heavy sugary trail - this is EDT Comptoir sud Pacifique!

Amandacat

I find this perfume to be a wonderful warm winter fragrance. it is long lasting and I find I get gentle wafts of it thoughout the day.
I do not find it too sweet. I find the fragrance to be rich and spicy.
If you like Angel I reckon you will really like this one.

andabri

Bought the newest offering that has started to sell at Sephora as of 2014.

To be blunt it opens with a gross, plastic, fake vanilla scent.

Luckily, this mellows out, the plastic recedes and it smells like vanilla. Lots of vanilla flavoring. With cream. This definitely does smell reminiscent of vanilla ice cream. It's very simple, but extremely pleasant. It's definitely a skin scent. A natural, milky, sweet, softly lingering fragrance.

I like it on its own, and also how well it layers with practically any fragrance I try it with because of it's mellow simplicity.

I can compare it to being a solid, staple item in a collection. It's sort of like an understated workhorse: it wears well on it's own or layered with others, it's appropriate in hot or cold weather, casual or fancy gatherings.

cake n' cuddles

This perfume to smells like a creamy, milky, vanilla sort of lotion. In particular I think of a less sugary version of sugar wafer by Tutti Dolci. The vanilla is definitely creamy, slightly buttery even, it's not super sweet, but it's not like it's unsweetened either.
Vanille Extreme EDT catches me a lot of compliments, praticularly guys. I think a perfume like this meshes well with my chemistry because in a way it kind of reminds me of creamy, sweet skin.
The perfume is light and I spray it around my shoulders and neck to create a halo of scent, I wear 5 sprays. The fragrance lasts about 5-6 hours before I reapply sometime after lunch.

bobekecske

I adore this stuff. Sweet, milky-sugary, bit sharp plastic-y vanilla. To me it's very comforting and delectable. I'd say it's more of a sugary vanilla than a warm foody one, if that description makes any sense to anyone else.
A friend of mine gushed over it when she smelled it on me, she pointed out (very correctly in my opinion) how it smells exactly like the Cupcake Dolls of our childhood. Sweet, soft, sugary and bit plastic (which might be the milk accord, I guess).
I'm a big fan of vanilla/heliotope/tonka bean scents as well as gourmand ones, I guess if those and any sweet CSP scents are your thing you might appreciate this one too.

DancerForLife

I decided to give this perfume a go after having worn the Vanille Abricot by Sud Pacifique for a while. The Extreme starts out rather sharp on me with a lot of alcohol, which quickly settles into a caremely-deep sugary scent. It lasts about 2-3 hours on my skin, though I really only get the caramel/sugar down the road, not much vanilla. Deciding that it is probably not the best scent for what I'm looking for, I like the peach version better as it is lighther/brighter for me.

djuzz.becuzz

I just received a sample of this in a swap and had to try it on immediately!
Extremely gourmand sweetness!!
It doesn't smell artificial in any way, just pure ingredients, it's pretty darn delicious!
I'm not sure if it's the edt or edp version I'm testing though and I believe I smell cinnamon in this!
But cinnamon is not listed in both edt and edp, so maybe my nose is playing tricks on me?
Maybe it's the heliotrope, but it doesn't smell almondy to me at all, just cinnamon...
It smells like hot sugared vanilla flavored milk sprinkled with cinnamon...
Too bad I just started my No-Buy period eh? ;)
I'll add it to my wishlist anyway, I can never know when it might be offered in a future swap, right?

SillySue

Vanille Extreme EDT is fast becoming one of my favorite vanillas. Seeing as my only previous with CSP was Vanille Abricot, which I absolutely did not care for, I was a little nervous to take a chance on Vanille Extreme, but now am SO glad I did. It was the sickly sweet synthetic fruity part of the VA that made my stomach turn, not the vanilla itself I see now. VE is very likeable cause it doesn't have that weird fruit note, just pure unadulterated vanilla! Yum! The initial blast is pure heaven! The best vanilla I have ever smelled to be honest. Then it quickly passes that stage and something a bit medicinal and not that pleasant takes over, but thankfully that stage doesn't last long either and the drydown is a very decent milky vanilla. Not quite as good as those gorgeous top notes, but still a really nice vanilla ice cream type of smell. I had almost turned my back on CSP cause of my first impressions via VA, but VE has made me change my mind. Now I'm curious to try more of their line. Vanille Coco, I'm coming for you!

zenbabylove

I ordered this from EBay.I got a tester bottle at a reduced price.Initially,I get a sweetened blast of play-doh,but it also smells a bit like almond/marzipan and I like that.At the dry down I smell vanilla Ice cream, which is very nice. This reminds me of a more intense version of Parfums de couer Vanilla Fantasy.I will finish the bottle but stick with Comptoir Sud Pacifique Amour de Cacao, which is vanilla chocolate Heaven!

CSP's Vanille Extreme EDT is as you would expect, a vanilla scent. It is on the sweet side of things, but not in a sickening sense. It smells very much like vanilla flavoured yoghurt to my nose.

I'm not likely to don a sweet vanilla such as this one every day, but every once in a blue moon I enjoy scents like this. The entire Comptoir Sud Pacifique range makes me feel rather flirtatious and carefree. Their vanilla fragrances are great for the warmer months and have a distinctive sugary-ness that almost anyone can enjoy.

Although a fairly linear composition, Vanille Extreme EDT smells so pleasant on my skin that it can evidently get away with its simplicity. Seeing that all this fragrance does is remind me of delicious desserts, I have no qualms in placing Vanille Extreme EDT into the gourmand category.

Men have been known to respond well to vanilla scents on women. Vanille Abricot was quite a hit with my male friends last time I wore it, and I would expect a similar reaction if I were to wear Vanille Extreme EDT amongst the same crowd.

Unfortunately Vanille Extreme EDT fails to lasts any longer than 3 hours on my skin. I suppose this would improve if I sampled the EDP, however this stronger concentration is not easily accessible. Nevertheless, Vanille Extreme EDT was everything that I expected and more.

This is why I love perfumes... i feel like i hit the lottery upon smelling this one :) this scent marks the end of my search for a long-lost vanilla that i used to own (that was discontinued) in the 1990's.

the past decade for me has been peppered with one disappointing vanilla after another, none even comparing to my long-lost vanilla (lavanila to me was just not in the same ballpark, in regards to my search). though some were nice (vs vanilla lace), i was still left in utter disappointment, with many containing weird synthetic notes at dry-down (imo). this scent is soooooo creamy delicious, it's intoxicating!

what goes on in my head while sniffing this one is, "my baby, my sweet, SWEET, precious vanilla baby" lol! so glad to have this (i want to say "have this one back" it is that close to my old fav)... it really makes my decade!

If ever there was a company that couldn't afford to reformulate its fragrances, it's CSP. Alas, Vanille Extreme, once a seriously creamy delightful gourmand beauty, has been reformulated, and now smells like nothing. I purchased this and Vanille Abricot at the same time, and actually threw my new bottles in the TRASH because I was told that they weren't returnable since I had opened them (Thanks a bunch, C.O. Bigelow!). At the store, they were using the original versions as testers, but were selling the new reformulated ones! what an infuriating waste of money.

When I got home and tried the new version of this fragrance I couldn't believe how awful it was. It was so weak and nondescript, it was insulting. Really just like mildly sweet water with no discernible qualities to speak of. It wasn't even good enough to swap. I would rather wear Body Fantasies Vanilla than this garbage.
Heartbroken.

Oh wow I love this. Vanilla to the extreme alright, woo hoo. Yum.

The sugar and slight milkiness make this different to and sweeter than any other vanilla fragrance I own, and I own a few. It is a super duper sugary sweet vanilla with great sillage and longevity.

There was a plasticky smelling note that bothered me when I first staring using it, but now it doesn't bother me at all.

Gosh it's just delicious - excellent layering scent, especially with other gourmands! Olfactory indulgence all the way!

Délicieux

I wanted to love this one, but the vanilla was far too synthetic and cheap smelling on me. Bummer. It just goes to show you that fragrance can be vastly different on everyone. I can see many of the reviewers here love it. However, for me, I did much better with the Vanille Coco (also by Comptoir). For some reason, that smelled like a true vanilla...but again, body chemistry is a fickle pickle!

Habanita

This has got very good lasting power. It stays on and on. So far I also like it. It's a nice creamy vanilla that can cheer you up.

After spraying this on my wrist...I want to eat my own arm! This scent literally makes my mouth water...that is how gourmand and amazing it is! This smells so good, true vanilla, sweet and the hint of the heliotrope in the background. The best true vanilla fragrance I have smelled! I am in love and I am hooked, now excuse me while I continue to try NOT to eat my own arm! ;)

KeLLStar

Extreme is 200% correct, this one is super duper sweet!!!! Your dentist would NOT approve!!!!

Vanille Extreme starts off with a tooth achingly sweet vanilla ice cream blast, as if you've had your head stuck in the carton & had a massive feeding frenzy. It's dripping from your nose, mouth & chin. You can almost FEEL the stickiness of the sugar, vanilla & milk. The vanilla here is like concentrated vanilla essence with the milk giving it a creaminess. Sillage is at maximum at this stage.

The heliotrope then joins in but turns into a bit of a party pooper, calming the sugary sweetness down with a floral twist. Don't get me wrong, it's not awful however personally I'd prefer the sugar, milk & vanilla to be solo.

The initial blast of Vanille Extreme EDT lasts about an hour or so on me, and then stays close to the skin, it doesn't completely fade. During the day I get vanillary whiffs that make me want to lick my arm.

I will enjoy my sample whilst it lasts, but I don't think I will be buying a full bottle of of Vanille Extreme. I like it, but I just don't love it.

Edit 2014: I ended up seeing this online at a great price with the body cream and I bought it. I still don't love it HOWEVER sometimes the simplicity of this scent is what I need. I also co-wear Vanille Extreme with other perfumes when I want to "vanille" them up!

addicttoperfume

OMG if you are a sweet gourmand kind of person, you will love this scent. this smells like a rice krispy treat. so sweet and marshmellowy. i love it.

kxnaiades

Tooth achingly sweet creamy vanilla all the way. Great sillage. Surprising longevity considering its an EDT. A linear gourmand scent that will satisfy anyone who is craving a vanilla high. An easy to layer fragrance, that would entwine seamlessly with the rest of the CSP scents. Although the price isn't cheap, it's worth it as it comes across and rich and opulent. A great and safe gift as long as the receiver adores vanilla and cream. Definitely to buy a full bottle for me!

orchid_84

Vanille Extreme EDT is delicious...pure and simple. To sum it up, this is like wearing vanilla cake batter. If you don't like foody scents, you might want to run the other direction. I think that goes without saying for almost every CSP scent, however.

This is creamy, caramelized, sweet, milky, and rich. Having said that, it never gets to the point of being cloying, or of smelling like plain old sugar. It retains its thick richness for many hours on my skin. Once it gets into the drydown, it becomes slightly spicy and earthy in a lovely way. A very well-done gourmand.

lettyb76

This is the only perfume my husband likes on me. He says it makes me smell like vanilla ice cream, which he loves.

UPDATE: I have been wearing this a lot lately, but it's begining to be too sweet in 90 degree weather, so I decided to layer it with another perfume. I layered it with Kenzo Amour and it smells amazing.

CheriJB8

Sweet Cavity inducing Vanilla. Smells edible....last a long time.

over_caffeine

I still have this one in the original formulation. I have had the 100 ml bottle of this EDT for 4 years already. For an edt, it lasts an amazing 10 hours (even longer when sprayed on clothes) and has amazing sillage. I've had the bottle for 4 years and since it is aluminum (shuts down light which can break down fragrance components), the juice inside still smells the same as the day I bought it. The foodiest vanilla I've tried. Whenever I wear this, people comment "Who smells like cake?"
Sadly, they changed the packaging and formulation of this delish fragrance.

cocobella

this one is one of the best vanilla fragrances i've tested so far. the vanilla is so rich and creamy and i don't get any headache from it, which i unfortunately do from most vanilla scents like eg. kenzo amour.
it is not very complex but it is just gorgeous.

susan1326

It begins as a buttery rich vanilla, almost like cake batter. I love vanilla scents, but thought this was going to be too one-dimensional for me. What a wonderful surprise as the sweeter notes began to swirl and depth began to develop after a couple of hours of wear. Now it's irresistable! I believe Vanilla Extreme will be excellent for layering as well.
Update: I was right-works beautifully with layering. Using it under some lighter scents to create depth and enjoying the new combinations very much.

miss-baksel1988

I really love this scent but I must say, when I spray it on, it almost smells caramelly-ish. Not really vanilla. Doesn't matter though, I'm still a big fan.

lilew

At first spray I wondered what all the rave reviews were talking about. It smelled nice, sweet, fun, vanilla. Then, completely forgot about it and went on with my day. The first person I encountered, well "intoxicating" was one of the words he said. As the day passed whiffs of happiness and bliss come to mind.
Just ordered another bottle, yum!

Aureliev

MiuMiuKitten

Mmm... I think I'm becoming addicted ;)
I love the opening of this, it does have a strong resemblance to a vanilla-lipgloss I used to have but nicer imo. Sadly this doesn't last that long. The dry-down is a bit more raw, I can def pick up on the heliotrope, which to my nose/on my skin almost gives it a slightly a green/smoky smell, quite caramel-y too
Tempted to buy a fb

Ultra Gourmand hits the nail on the head for this fragrance! Yes, vanilla, caramel, milk, almond, cake batter- delicious! worlds better than warm vanilla sugar in my book and much more fragrant than a candle. i love gourmand fragrances and this one is amazing in light lasting power, initial intensity and all around yumminess! Well priced, too- the cheapest vanilla i have ever adored and one of the best comfort scents I have ever found in any price ranges.
Right after you spray it, it smells a lot like frosting and white cake and has horribly addictive top notes. When it dries down, it is more of a vanilla skin scent, subtle and creamy, no frosting, no cake, just a light vanilla/almond. At around $50 a bottle (or less on amazon/ebay) i can afford to spray all day and I assure you i take complete advantage of that. :) happy hunting!
Also on the comments on the edp being less powerful and yummy than the edt are completely true, although the vanilla extreme edp has a subtle scent with lasting power. First time I have found an edt more fragrant than an edp- but the rumors are true, EDT is stronger than EDP.

charlieshaw

I adore Vanille Extreme To me it smells like a super sweet slice of vanilla sugar cake with a huge helping of vanilla icing. Imagine freshly baked vanilla sugar cookies, washed down with warm milk. That's what Vanille Extreme is! Heavenly fragrance!

adele l

this one i bought unsniffed-big mistake. it's like straight up vanilla extract- if you're into that i have a full bottle!

Carnelian

Okay, you know those candles that are supposed to smell like vanilla cake batter? That's what I get when it's first on - like it's actually trying to smell like real food, but isn't quite making it. Intensely sweet, foody vanilla, and somewhat synthetic - not a fresh vanilla. After a bit, the caramel comes out, and it goes from being cake smelling to more candy smelling. Unfortunately, there is something very bitter at the base, which I do not like. Absolutely gourmand, a solid vanilla. Folks around you will be looking for the dessert. If that's your thing, this is a good pick. I'm more of a vanilla musk kind of girl, which this isn't.

milkyway

in my opinion its a very strong vanilla..not for all vanilla lovers out there..
i personally really like vanilla scents, but this is a bit too harsh for me..heliotrope is making it quite bitter.
if you are like me and like your vanilla scents sweeter, try vanilla vanille by the body shop. lives up to my expectations every time:-)

EternalSunshine7

I can appreciate a perfume that smells exactly the way you think it should smell. I can appreciate Mr. Lions making a true-to-you vanilla that's different from all of these other cheap-smelling, gag-inducing vanilla perfumes. Unfortunately, this one is just not for me. It's too foody for my taste...but I'm sure that's how it's supposed to smell. I can handle this smell coming out of the oven, and occasionally from a candle...but not on my skin. If you're looking for gourmand, this would make a perfect option for you. I'm sure it's wonderful for layering and perfect for those who want a pure sweet vanilla. In fact, all of the Vanille series are good if you like sweet vanilla fragrances. They're warm and a few can even be considered somewhat uplifting. They're just too sweet on MY skin. On the up side, I have to admit that it was FUN trying all of them!

falovalo

This is exactly what I was looking for, as it smells exactly like pure vanilla without any cloying notes to interfere with it. And my bf gave it to me :).

Amanda79

I ordered 4 Comptoir's unsniffed and this is the 1st one for me to try. Let me just say that I love vanilla! I've been on the search for a perfume that is almost 100% vanilla and THIS IS IT! It could stand to be more in-your-face but im not sure if the notes in this are capable of such feats. Its wears close to the skin and lasts considering how mellow the notes are. After an hour of wearing it has a VERY SLIGHT burnt smell that mixes with the warmth of the skin creating a vanilla swirl of heavenly goodness!! hehe :)

Olesandra

I think this vanilla is too much shugared. I can smell in it very delicate and milky-sweet vanilla under thick layer of the burnt slightly caramel.
