Strawberry shortcake dolls in the 80s vibes. It's good, safe blind buy, fairly unremarkable though, probably good for layering. Sweet vanilla, I prefer Vanille Coco but I'll probably keep this one too.

Malleable

I love most of the CSP scents I've tried, but this one is so faint on my skin that I don't smell much of anything unless I stick my nose right on it. Disappointing after reading all the great reviews.

Coffretti

I'm not sure I can get past this association to really want to reach for this perfume, it's very close to kitchen vanilla extract but instead of being reminded of baking, it's giving me strong Tic Tac vibes. Might just be my skin chemistry but for the first hour, it's all about breaking the seal of Fresh Mint Tic Tacs. It is a pure, food quality vanilla smell, nostalgic and not synthetic at all. No obvious musk on me and no evolution of the scent in the first hour.

Pure perfectionfor layering!!!
I was on a hunt for a pure vanilla fragrance that won't have a synthetic vibe, to pair with Serge Luten - ecrin de fumee, to make it more wearable for a female. I think a found a perfect match!!! Amazing scent for layering, very smooth vanilla that isnt overly sweet nor nauseatingly synthetic. Just what I've been looking for, absolutely nothing else but pure vanilla!!!

This barely smells like anything on my skin :(

VANILLA CLOUDS 77

When I discovered Vanille Passion a few years ago I instantly experienced that it is the most but the very most closest Vanilla to the real natural Vanilla pod I ever smelt in my life.
And it’s in my my most favourite vanilla for sure and always will have a very special place in my heart.
I am so in love with my Vanilla obsession.. Thank you CSP..

Just like the notes say, this is a very straightforward vanilla. Vanilla, vanilla, vanilla, vanilla. I'm a big fan of vanilla and wanted to see if I would like it on its own like this (well, not entirely on its own, but that little bit of musk hardly comes through). I do! I don't think I would wear this on its own to go out – I'd probably layer it with something or reach for a more complex vanilla – but I can see myself wearing it for a cozy day spent indoors.

fantomette

A cute, simple vanilla that lasts a long time, perfect for layering !

I used to own a lot of CSP perfumes but I grew tired of some of them. On the other hand, Vanille Passion is one I still love.

It's nothing loud, bold, nor ultra creative--- it's literally a green, almost unripe vanilla bean accord evolving into a darker, more mature vanilla pod accord and musks. Sillage is intimate but longevity is excellent on my skin and clothes. It does strongly smell like alcohol on the first spray but once it warms up on your skin, it turns into a very soft, musky vanilla. I've yet to smell and try many more famous vanilla fragrances but the more I smell vanilla-centric perfumes (hyped or not), the more I appreciate Vanille Passion's minimalism and authenticity.

I sometimes use vanilla pods when baking. They're not of the highest quality but to my nose, Vanille Passion doesn't smell artificial at all, it smells close to actual vanilla pods. I really like how it's not gourmand because it makes it a fantastic layering fragrance to add a natural vanillic touch without edible sweetness. I absolutely love gourmands but sometimes I just want to smell like vanilla, nothing more, nothing less.

I used to layer this with Vanille Extrême from CSP and I would get compliments from coworkers and sales assistants when I would go shopping. Some of them even asked me to write the names of my combination down lol. Nowadays, I just layer it with anything when I crave a soft, comforting yet serious vanilla.

It's not a fun, youthful nor bright perfume but I think this will remain a staple in my collection for a while. I'll take a break from it after I finish my bottle but I'll come back to it for sure, as I haven't found any better option when I crave that specific vanilla vibe :)

I had exactly the same experience as @Zethre. Really bad/odd right off the hop, but then turns quite nice. Unfortunately, it only lasts max two hours.

[***EDIT: Overspraying makes it last longer, and after about four hours it reverts back to the original weird smell***]

This was a very unsuccessful blind-buy for me, and I returned it. :(

At least it is unique, and doesn't smell like anything else in the CSP lineup! :)

Zethre

First few seconds very odd and chemically, but literally just a few seconds. Then it's a beautiful natural vanilla with fairly intimate sillage that is barely there and lasts maybe half an hour.
Beautiful but disappointing.

Among the best existing vanilla-based creations, with light musky notes. Vanille Passion by Sud Pacifique evokes the scent of the exotic markets of the French colonies in Madagascar and the Mauritius Islands for its absolute purity and naturalness, it does not in the least evoke confiserie or pâtisserie, certainly a sophisticated gourmand that does not trigger appetite, rather a vague liqueur scent with an exciting and reassuring evolution towards talc. Sillage not cloying, appreciable duration.

This perfume reminds me of “Kamiseta” boutiques (local brand in the Philippines). I’ve tried countless vanilla perfumes but I can’t find one exactly similar to whatever they use until now. The only reason why I haven’t bought the perfume right away is because of the unsatisfactory performance. It’s way too fleeting.

It’s my first time to try a CSP perfume and I assumed based that the bottle is aluminum can like Montale, but it’s actually glass which makes it travel friendly.

Pez_Enelrio

I ordered the sample together with Montale sweet vanilla, and I have Vanilla Abricot from CSP and this one is nothing like those 2 at all.
I actually feel something soapy and in it both on paper and skin, would be good to have the notes here so I can identify. Projection and longevity are weak. The smell itself is very interesting given this combination of sweetness and freshness but i can hardly smell anything of it. If you like sweet vanilla scents this is not for you.

Opening notes smells like a sweet fragrance for a little girl, and 10 min after you’re left with a nice but very subtle « parfum de peau » (skin fragrance) which you can smell if you dig your nose on your skin...

What is it with the longevity of Comptoir Sud Pacifique fragrances ??
I cannot find one that lasts so far, except for vanille Extreme ...

Shellarella74

I really like this one. Right away you smell alcohol but that disappeared and your left with a beautiful vanilla and light resin maybe amber. I ordered it right from the company it’s beautiful. Not sure if people are getting old bottles. I have never gotten so many compliments on a scent. I enjoy this at night all cozy reading a book.

UnOiseauRebel

A blast of alcohol followed by a whiff of biscuity vanilla. Impulse body sprays did it first (and, arguably, better)

OTA Mom

Misses the boat somehow, the vanilla overridden by fermented fruit.

Vanille Passion is the best! I'm dyin' to know if it's the same as the Vanille by CSP that existed before Vanille Passion and Vanille Extreme.

I actually have 3 versions of this scent. One is the current one, the edP. It's a simple dark pure tahitan vanilla bean. And the rest are the original Vanille Passion edT, in tin bottles. But there's a small difference depending on the type of tin bottle:
If it has a sticker instead of partly printed logo it's more sweet but more spicy, reminding you a lot of pumpkin spice and autumn. But with print logo it's the same scent, but it also has this icecream-creamy-marshmallow-caramel-candy sweetness in it. This is my favourite reformulation.

Notes in this scent according to my source are: Vanilla(tahitan), Cacao, Coconut Oil, Cinnamon & Nutmeg. (I would definitely add the caramel in that one version!)
The new 2015 edP version with golden cap and glass bottle is a different Vanille Passion. It's a lot less sweeter but lasts longer and is more of a raw kinda vanilla. It's official notes: black and green vanilla pods and skin musk.

But to me they're all 10/10, both edt&edp!

PS. Vanille Passion edT ith caramel is just like Vanilla - Vanille (the vintage one) by L'occitane! Great replacement even though Vanille Passion edT is discontinued as ell.

Wow @villey91 I didn't know about the re-released version! This is my signature for years.. such a beautiful vanilla. Powdered sweetness just divine! I'm going to check out the re-issue I'm beyond excited!!

villey91

This fragrance has been re-released by CSP ! Now it's an eau de Parfum.

This is not anything like Vanille Extreme. This is Pure Vanilla. Dark, boozy, plain and simple; vanilla pod. Notes are Black and Green Vanilla Pods and Musk. Vanilla pods are tahitian like all CSP's vanillas.
This is not sugary at all. It really is just Vanilla, the same one you can smell when you're cooking with vanilla extract. No essence, no spicyness, completely natural. It has even woodier feeling from green vanilla pod which I guess is the raw, fresh vanilla. The musk is pretty much just for the softening of the sharp vanillic tones, so you don't notice musk in this too much.

Longevity is crazy, like 24 hours that's why it's an edP. But the sillage is very soft. You'll get soft wafts of it during the time you're wearing it but have to have your nose against your skin all the time if you want to smell it all the time. Very inoffensive but still recognizable!

I think Vanille Passion is perfect for layering and mixing up with other scents because it's almost just one note so you can add vanilla to almost every perfume with this. Also it's lovely on it's own. But this kind of Vanilla is very hard to find. It's not super unique but kinda and it's high quality pure Vanilla and everyone should try it at least once in their lifetime so they know what vanilla is really all about.

polly golightly

vaniglia bourbon classica. resinosa e leggermente speziata. distante anni luce dalle vaniglie sintetiche mainstream. molto buona

Singabera

I love it. Expected pure little bit chamical "body spray" type vanilla, but fortunately, it is not) Its smoky, little bit leathery even, big vanilla reminded me Shalimar. Good to use before sleeping, cause it makes you feel safe and calm.

freddinos

As the name suggests, pure vanilla in this one! Warm, yummy, cookie like! I found it quite similar to Vanille Extreme and Vanille Abricot to be honest, and didn't recognise any of the spices others are mentioning. Too bad because I was looking for a spicy vanilla, not a comforting one ( I already have Casmir to cover that part!)

CassiaM

Total pick me up. Smells like a warm kitchen, vanilla, cinnamon, spices. People tell me I smell like a toasty bakery.

floof

After reading reviews of this smelling like vanilla extreme (also by csp) i purchased this. I do not think they smell all that similar, actually, but this one is lovely. Vanilla extreme is cake, vanilla passion is more of a refined and mature vanilla. I really like it!

as for the tihota comparison, I agree- it is somewhat similar, but they are different and great in different ways. Of course almost every amazing vanilla gets discontinued, there are 2 good examples of that.

MiuMiuKitten

Apparently CSP has changed the formula of this a few times, got mine today and am not too sure how happy I am with this one. I can't seem to smell it unless I press my nose up against my skin... At first spray it smells a little synthetic/alcholic but this disappears pretty quickly, once this is gone it isn't unpleasant, kind of floral, and there does seem to be a cocoa-type note which makes it smell slightly masculine on my skin. Not exactly what I was expecting, it doesn't scream vanilla to me but will probs still wear it. Might try the older version, 'Vanille' if I can find it, failing that, Vanille Extreme.

rednose

Is it just me, or does it smell a bit nutmeg-ish?:S I don't know what to say about this other than it smells very Christamasy.

kastehelmi

I seem to be the exception here-This fragrance smelled cloying, and weird to me-There was a note of coconut oil going bad-This was a big bad surprise,
more of a "no way!" reaction than a disappointment-surprisingly disappointing.

My ideal vanilla would smell light, natural and not very sweet-nothing like this. I am not sure where to look for such a scent, since this is supposed to be a classic, reliable vanilla.
This smells like bad suntan lotion and sugary vanilla cake with lots of dried coconut.
But maybe Vanille Passion will smell more vanilla, and more passionate on your skin?

phrogfrau

Love it! This is one of my faves from the Comptoir Sud line. Warm and soft without being too overbearing - and not chemically or cheap smelling like some vanillas on the market.

cruzy80

I love Vanilla Passion. While Vanille Extreme has more of a sweet, bakery note to this, this is just pure, sweet Tahitian vanilla. Soft, exotic, a tad sexy but UNFORTUNATELY, the lasting power of a body spray. You want a similar smelling vanilla that will actually last the day? Grab a bottle of Molindard's Vanille (in the blue bottle) - best vanilla ever.

Amanda79

Ordered 4 CSP unsniffed, 2nd one to review. While Vanille Extreme is like slightly toasted-sugar-vanilla-swirl this one is more like straight up pure vanilla bean. They are very similar but I love them both! The smell is not strong but it sure does last. I could still smell Vanille Extreme on me this morning!

jillsy

Very nice vanilla with a hefty dose of cinnamon, smelling rather like a cinnamon donut. Yummy.

jeca

This is very comfortable vanilla.
