A hint of vanilla and rice but.. in a soapy strong aromatic smell. I can’t smell any tonka or milk. Maybe I got an old sample, but it’s really bad

hannahbananana

jo malone scarlet poppy is very reminiscent of this to me

royajessiebahram

is anyone selling a bottle of this! please get in touch x

Sodastream83

What a pleasant surprise! I have recently discovered that black currant is my favourite note, and here it is mixed with milk and tonka, so what could go wrong? I don't get the rice but what I do get is a little licorice from the OG Loverdose. All in all a little gem of a fragrance.

EDIT: This last about 30 minutes on my skin and then poof it's gone. Too bad.

sw33tlikeh0ney

i really wanted to try this one but i think its discontinued
:(

Vesperexa

On the lactonic spectrum, this is all the way on the lotion end. There is no realistic milk note here, it's just a vanillic baby wipe smell. It's also extremely powdery, which isn't listed under the accords at all, and it's not savory in the slightest it's really sweet. Really disappointing, I'm glad I bought a sample and didn't blind buy a whole bottle. I don't find this offensive, but I would also never wear it because I don't want to smell like baby wipes.

Edit: After giving this a full wear, I do get the rice note in the beginning, but it lasts literally 20 minutes and then the fragrance is almost entirely gone. Do not blind buy this.

AlaskanAngel

Ugh.
Opens piercing.
Generic fruity floral.
Unrefined and obnoxious.
The cassis here is very urine-y.
Where are all the calming, yummy notes?
I can't find them.
I bought this for the rice and milk listed above,
thought that sounded amazing with orange blossom and vanilla.
Unfortunately, for four hours (wish it faded faster!), all I get is nondescript florals in a nauseating, sickly sweet syrup.
There are a million fragrances like this already on the market.

Review of foolish full bottle blind-buy based on this fragrantica page.

P.S.
I wonder if those that love this would think it smells great on me or would they be appalled that my chemistry makes it so disgusting?

Would I enjoy it on someone else or would I find it awful while they adore wearing it?

LadyMuck

A deep tonka/vanilla/orange blossom fragrance.
It has great dry down notes and on me I smell the DNA
of the original Loverdose licorice come through.
The milk note isn't as prominent as I expected it to be.
I enjoy wearing it as it is an easy reach for me, and it lasts at least 6 hours.

This was a blind buy but it was rather a safe one because I love anything lactonic and sweet. It’s not too sweet though, cassis being one of the top notes it balances it perfectly. I love the bergamot and rose notes too and on my skin they blend beautifully. The sillage is not bad at all, which is an another plus for sure. It’s inoffensive yet outstanding and I think it’s perfect for everyday use except very hot summer days. I love it!!

jadesfragrances

very powdery with a little sweetness. it’s gentle and kind of calming. think i’d prefer it if the vanilla and tonka notes came through more, making it a little bit creamier. there’s something about this that puts me off though and i can’t work out what note it is. the only note i don’t like in this is bergamot but i’m not sure that’s to blame here as i don’t feel it comes across with that sharp, sourness it normally has.

adel41da

it´s a creamy, cozy and warm scent. smells like rice pudding with vanilla sauce on top

cinnamonharper

I bought this one mainly because of the cute black heart-shaped bottle and based on the notes, which made me expect this to be something along the lines of Kenzo Amour. It is not.
Everyone who is saying this is nauseating and gross is 100% right. The smell is pungent, sweet but with a very "dirty" feling to it. Not quite sure what note or note combination causes this, I suspect it's the tonka-bean but I'm not familiar enough with the note to blame it solely on her for the atrocity that is this perfume. The nasty accord amplifies in hot weather, making it even more unwearable than it already is.

I want to use it up just to keep the bottle but I find myself never in the mood of smelling this, not even when I'm at home alone. This is possibly the most hated perfume that I have ever owned. Hard pass for me.

marchat

I like the notes in the fragrance and purchased it intending to wear it to bed. It is a nice scent, however, it is gone within 20 minutes of applying it. This is not an expensive fragrance, but for the price, I was hoping it would last at least 3-4 hours. I do not feel that is asking too much. I will not purchase again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

sugarfreespirit

I bought this because I have smelled other Loverdose perfumes and they were beautiful. First spray, I do get a sweet popcorny vanilla milk scent but it's nice... 10 minutes pass and the scent is gone. Fiance agreed. Waste of money for me, unfortunately.

zind

God knows I tried with Loverdose Tattoo. I bought it after falling in love with a single spritz to my hand, unfortunately I could never handle a full wear though, neither layered. The milk note is too much for me and it's a little sour, I happen to find it both cloying and nauseating. Even the rice note can't save it. I do think it would be quite lovely had the milk note been dialed down a lot

Nataliemarie

I know my bottle isn't fake, but this POWDER BOMB the first 30 mins wth????? I just resprayed heavily to see if I get this "Vanilla" Rice drydown everyone talks about. It's going to have to change a LOT! Will update
I wore this for a few hours and went to the tanning bed. I got STRAIGHT Carolina Hererra 212 in the white frost double ended bottle the entire time. I WISH I got the Vanilla or Rice Crispy treats, but nope! I read reviews this was discontinued. Most of the time you can still find them online for a while before another cheap company buys the name & bottle and reformulates it. I feel like that is what has happened, this smells worse than anything at Dollar Tree.

Chalkline

I remember being in love with this perfume years ago - the bottle, the scent of vanilla... Finally bought a couple of bottles secondhand and I am in love!! The longevity is crazy on me, 10 hours in and still going strong!! Sillage is pretty decent too. I can smell the vanilla from the beginning but the drydown is a more milky vanilla, if that makes any sense.

Titaniumpixel

I've been wearing this perfume on and off for about 7 years now.
The first spray always takes me back a bit and I think 'wait, do I even like this?' But after 10 minutes it's all creamy, tonka, vanilla, rice but with a bit of an edge that I can't quite place. I love it. I don't think I'll ever stop buying it.

Veizi

Oh god, this is nauseating. Thought I would love this because I was looking for some good lactonic fragrances (i love them) and the bottle was nice so i went for it. This is not what I imagined it to be. It smells like rotten vomited milk: must be the horrendous cassis-milk-rice mix…just gross and headache inducing…

bdragonfly12345

The milk shows up right from the start for me, and smells a touch sour, although I don't get any citrus in this.

During the opening/middle it does smell vaguely similar to "Yes I Am" (...and I wish I had bought that instead of blind-buying this!) The drydown is more pleasant, as some florals come out and the milk note fades.

It is a very short-lived scent on me! And, just as a PSA warning, the sprayer on mine likes to shoot a stream (not a spray), so much that it dripped the first time I used it!!

Gül Türe

I compare it very much to the midnight Tresor. I think there are red fruits in it, but it is not written in the notes of the perfume. kids love this fragrance for some reason. Our neighbor's little daughter hugs me whenever I use it. it is a nice fragrance and its permanence is very good but for some reason it is not a popular perfume.

Millicake88

Just received my shipment. Love love love 😍 Vanilla rice pudding with a hint of spice and crushed caramel corn on top... But don't worry you won't walk around smelling like popcorn 😂 just a dusting of buttery richness.
Yummy....super creamy, warm, and rich....
Now I'm sad this is discontinued and we hadn't met sooner.

Edit: hands down homemade marshmallow rice crispy treats 😋👌

Rozalina

Tried Loverdose Tattoo quite a few times because I want to love it. That bottle!! It smells like a lovely vanilla rice pudding in the first few hours without being *too* rich.
I wasn't expecting much as I don't tend to like fragrances with rice in the base ie. the popular "Amour" by Kenzo- smells like nothing, like it's missing something.
The milk and rice combo in Loverdose Tattoo works, it's sweet without being too much or cloying. However, that only lasts a couple hours before turning into a vague dusty powder smell.

fyetan

The opening is screechy and heavy. If I close my eyes I can make out a similarity to Cacharel Yes I Am, but that one is smoother and more pleasant.

After a looooong half an hour or so, it calms down into a milky vanilla rice.

To skip the opening I would rather go for fragrances in the vein of Kenzo Amour or Dior Hypnotic Poison.

Oohsmellthisone

I love this one. But I do love milky vanilla scents. If you like perfumes like Philosophy Fresh Cream then I think you’ll like this one.

Edit: I’m making this my signature so I’ll be stocking up if I can. I reach for this one most, it just suits my mood! 🖤

rihabi

Yes, I have this now and I can conclude this is heavier than I expected. Everything sounded so delicious and I was seduced by the milky-rice combination (driven by my impression of Amour by Kenzo). This has nothing to do with it - I find it a little bit annoying and smells sweet in the old-fashioned way - probably the tonka is giving me headache, I like it as a whole, but sometimes it is so in your face, that you can't stand it. The fragrance is not bad, I just wish it was a little bit lighter and softer.

aldinatic

First impression, I feel like my nose got raped.. I need to get familiar with this.. I hope the dry down is better...

what is this? Cassis? Milk note ?

Rice after 5 mins

This is a perfume for teens to piss off parents.. combined with goth style and having actually tattoos..

You can't scrub it off even after shower

idolinam

YES, finally i remembered what dish smells like this tattoo. i have tried a Sushi (desert) wich was rolled in a rise paper, with bananna and strawberry filling, and coconut milk :D but i dont want to say that this DIESEL is bad, its really interesting smell, but you need to think when you want to smell with it. maybe in the kitchen :D

MichelleMoon

I'm encouraged by some of the reviews below that show people eventually coming around to this one after hating it initially. In case you haven't guessed, I am not enjoying this so far, but I'm hopelessly trying to find redeeming qualities to salvage this foolish blind buy.

Honestly, there is something thick and nauseating about the milky/rice note combination. It reminds me of something, but I can't quite remember. Maybe it was that bland, milky, mildly sweet dessert from India (I can't remember the name). I remember I couldn't even swallow a bite of that dessert, and this one gets stuck in my throat just the same.

I see other reviews that mention similarity to rice pudding, but I have to disagree. It lacks the depth and richness of rice pudding. It has a watery quality. Almost like coconut water, but without the coconut note.

I'm not giving up on it entirely, but I'll be taking a break until we get some warmer weather.

If anyone is dying to get a hold of this discontinued frag, I'd be willing to sell. Only a couple sprays missing from my 50ml bottle. Feel free to PM me.

KittyDeBeauvoir

I wish I liked this more.
It has a lot of notes that pique my interest:
Rose, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla, tonka bean, and - yes, rice and milk.

It's those top notes, though. Specifically, cassis. Cassis is awesome when done well. It's fruity, dark, deep, and sweet.
When it's not done well, it's this: A HOT, pungent, sour, overpowering odour. By hot, I mean; flames in my nose and on my skin. Not a sensation I enjoy. This singular note ruins the scent for me.

It's longevity isn't great (2 hours), and...well, honestly...it smells kinda cheap.

The upside is that the base notes on my wrist are nice, albeit short-lived. I enjoyed the milkiness...but I wouldn't bother buying it. Just not worth it.

I love the original Loverdose, but I love this one more. Funny it was named Tattoo. I can not stand tattoos, but the scent of this fragrance is very pleasant, making me feel sooooo good. The original Loverdose is like Lolita and Tatoo is like her older sophisticated and alluring sister. It's not only for mature people.

Nonzerosumness

I only bought it because the milky notes intrigued me and one of the fragrance reviewers I follow kept bringing up as one of her favorites. It won't make my favorites list, however. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. It's very heavy, slightly headachey. Something I imagine someone like my mom wearing. I also can't smell the milk-rice notes much. The tonka is much too overpowering.

Прекрасен в хладно време, гурме с привкус на ядки

mevans

So sweet and creamy, I almost miss the florals for all the cozy vanilla. I am attracted to sweet and gourmand scents anyway but Tattoo is just gorgeous. It's a bit different thanks to some uncommon notes, the milky-rice accord I think is mainly what makes it so polarizing in the reviews. But if you are patient with it and allow it time to settle and develop, it's so worth it. It's got an edginess to it but doesn't go too far. With it being a heavier sweet perfume, fall and winter are the perfect time to reach for it.

Palmer Eldritch

I would say this is definitely the opposite of springtime. This is a more creamy, extremely herbal version of the loverdose line. (on a side note I love how all the loverdoses are completely different, not flankers of one-another).

Emphasis on 'herbal'. First spray the star anise is STRONG on my skin, along with the rice and milk. As hours pass the vanilla/milk/rice base is stronger with a hint of tonka in the background.
But still herbal.

Performance is ok, even though I consider this to be the most winter-oriented of the 3 loverdoses...the longevity and sillage are standard.

Not my favourite of the 3 but PERFECT for cold weather. And it's DIFFERENT to other vanilla/tonka perfumes out there.

Verdict: I definitely recommend try before you buy as it's got a herbal peculiarity.

ModestyLove

Not very femme, but I like it. Brings memories of spring time.

moonrises

Smells like glam rock. Love it!

chinook

Loverdose tattoo is darker and less sweet than loverdose. It is a cassis vanilla bomb with milky undertones. It feels really edgy. Sillage is quite heavy.

Бегла прилика с Kenzo Amour, тук има повече ядки, интересен ми е как ще е в по-студено време, засега ще си го оставя

anflax

I blind bought it after reading review here and not disappoint. It open with some fresh citrus and then only yummy milk beverage that stay on me. The mixed of vanilla milk and tonka smells so good .

It Last for 4 hours , i think it's good fragrance. Safe blind buy, office safe, maybe nothing unique but can be using everyday. not love it but i like it.

Jeresa545

I blind-bought this in 50ml bottle in a chemist about a year ago and when I opened it at home I was SO disappointed. It smelled just like rice with vanilla to me, and why would I want to smell like rice? Fast forward a couple months to when it was cooler weather and it suddenly smelled like a sweet milky vanilla fragrance. It stayed on my clothes so well that I could smell the sweetness all day (and until they were washed) . Fast forward another 10 months and I've almost ran out of it and am contemplating buying a full bottle!
I don't quite understand how it went from being 'ew gross!' to 'ok give it a miss today, you've already worn it 3 times this week - whatever, let's wear it again!' but I'm glad it did. It's very very sweet to me, milky, almost smells like the milk bottle lollies that were out when I was a kid, and the hint of rice is nowhere near as strong as it once was.
The sillage isn't too strong on me, which I'm glad about as even though I love the scent, it's not one I would want everyone smelling strongly. It lasts about 5 hours on my skin, on clothes the smell lingers for ages. At the time I was annoyed I'd spent the money, but this ended up being one of my most successful blind buys :)

ILikeToSmellNice

For the first time I don't know what to think of a fragrance!

I unexpectedly came across this at a local chemist and I was soo excited as it has been on my list for quite some time due to the fact that it's a gourmand with many notes similar to Kenzo Amour (one of my all-time favorites). There were only 2 boxes left and they didn't have a tester so I just had to get it. I sprayed this on as soon as I walked out of the chemist earlier today (told you I was excited) and it was just...so unusual. The scent of milk and rice, as a few reviewers have noted, didn't seem to blend very well with the floral. It was also rather cold, not warm like Amour. It must be the lack of spices. I don't know but it was kind of meh. Still nice but I could imagine some who smell it on me will probably go "whoa, what's that weird smell?"

Then I went to the sauna later in the day, when I came out and freshly showered, I thought I would try this one more time. And wow, the scent became something different. Rice and milk were still there but some unknown sweet notes radiated more, making the whole thing so smooth, sweet and creamy, unlike the first time I sprayed, which was like rice and milk, only with some flowers on top. It must be the higher temperature of my skin.

So I must say, I kind of like it but probably will save it for the warm days in summer, or after sauna, when it smells nicer on my skin.

UPDATE: I have found a way to enjoy this perfume. I use a hair dryer to blast hot air on to my skin right after spraying. Now I am loving it. Sweet, smooth and Very creamy with the right amount of edge!

Longevity is not bad. It lasts for about half a day. After it becomes a creamy skin scent.

Sillages is mild and safe for office use if sprayed lightly.

daisleybur

This has been one of my favourite perfumes for years. I came across it when sniffing pretty much every perfume in Boots. The instant I smelt this, I fell in love. It always makes me smile, plus I love the bottle, which is a plus!

It's a very vanilla-milky sort of scent, with the added sort of floral musk. I hate floral perfumes, but it's extremely subtle in this.

It's lasts a decent amount of time, and only needs 3-4 sprays.

Daliadivine

This is always gonna be special to me. It brings me so much memories. From the bottle it didnt smell so special but after a time u can really smell it it gets better In the cold. Great for out going. Now Im bored of it but i used 3 bottles of it. Would want to keep one botle forever. It would be perfect if it was More deep.

addiehominem

Milky vanilla and rice powder. Reminds me a LOT of Lipstick On, but less powdery and without the iris. This is pure vanilla/tonka, with the interest coming from its lactonic texture. I appreciate that it isn't a very sweet vanilla--it's powdered milk spiked with just a touch of vanilla extract. If you're looking for a super creamy vanilla, this will probably satisfy that longing, but be forewarned--it is very soft, and has poor longevity.

hk96

Tested this one out today on paper, straight up smells like some good drugstore shampoo

Soofiya

I owe this one another review
After using up 15 mils of it in two weeks, now I feel different about Loverdose Tattoo.call me crazy but some perfumes seem to perform much better a few weeks after spraying them for the first time.I slso warm up it's bottle between my hands before spraying and it helps.it's not a faint perfume anymore
It smells like vanilla+powdered infant milk before mixing it with water and I don't mean it in a bad way.it's delicious in an addictive way.oh and there's lots of tonka here trying to give a dark and dry undertone to this yummy vanilla milk combo.flowers are light on me and I can't detect them as separate notes, but it has definitely a soft floral heart sitting quietly in background while vanilla dances on stage
It doesn't smell like Kenzo Amour to me.actually I don't know any perfume in the whole world comparing to my first love,Amour;but these two definitely share a similar vibe.they're both yummy, softly powdered, cozy and comforting vanilla scents but LD Tattoo is more simple IMO,more gourmand and has less bright, fresh notes cutting through heavy vanilla, tonka.but still I can't call it a heavy perfume by any means.I also agree with Black Opium comparisons but it's like a pearless,coffee-less,softer and milky Black Opium
All in all I'm very happy to have it now and I have to confess that it's pretty long lasting

Soofiya

Loverdose Tattoo was on top of my wishlist for a long time as I own and like both Loverdose and Loverdose Red Kiss, also I tested LD Tatoo once or twice on paper blotter and I remember that I though what a warm, sweet and yummy amazing perfume.I was sure I'm going to love it much more than it's sisters.the other reason for wanting this is kenzo Amour;Amour was my signature for a couple of years and I still love it,seeing that Tatoo shares a few notes with Amour made me want it so badly.last but not least I'm a tattoo lover and a tattoo artist
Finally I bought it two days ago in a sale(a 1.7oz bottle for 35$) but unfortunately it's a huge disappointment.I don't know whether I'm half anosmic to it or if it's really so faint that I can barely smell it
Loverdose and LD Redkiss are both strong perfumes, their delicious notes shine on my skin even with a single spray but in this case I can smell it just when I stick my nose to my skin.even ten huge sprays doesn't solve any problem and this leads me to think that there's something wrong with my nose or my skin because I can see a lot of you guys find it strong.it's at least noticeable a bit when I spray it on me clothes but this is not how I enjoy using my perfumes.what makes me even more sad is the scent that I'm catching faintly seems to be adorable.it smells like some brighter notes floating in a see of caramelized vanilla-tonka,warm sweet and yummy.cozy and pleasant and I struggle to catch a stronger whiff of this lovely scent,or maybe detect some milk or rice, but I can't and it leaves me unsatisfied and tired.my husband says that he can smell it on me for a short while and describs it as vanilla, chocolate and flowers, nice but you have dozens of similar perfumes
I can't do anything but keeping it and hoping for a change

Kaleidosaur

I was soooo close to getting rid of this one right after buying it. It's very strong right in the beginning with a really heavy sort of floral sharpness. If you spray it on clothes I feel like this sharpness lingers for hours. But don't be fooled! This scent is truly supposed to be worn on skin; hence the name, perhaps? After the initial burst it's like a sweet rosey rice pudding vanilla, and the drydown is a very comforting warm creamy vanilla sweetness. I love it!

carolinneus

Ugh. This would be a fantastic fragrance if it was just a little better thought through. Instead we get a pleasing milk-rice-vanilla mush all the way down. It'd be great as something another scent dried down into, or a fragrance's heart if there were other notes present that brought variety, but still made sense with the essence of the fragrance. I say this with Tattoo in mind -- a lot of the notes seem like an afterthought, thrown in under the pretence of giving this more substance.

The opening is a five minute blast of orange and something more bodied - I imagine this is the cassis leaf - and then it falls away almost immediately to the main, carb-y accord of the fragrance. This smells like a cross between sweet B.O. (not in a bad way, I mean this in the way many describe Olympéa) and the sugar shells of Cadbury's mini eggs. This overall scent is lovely, somewhat sexy, but it definitely gets a bit monotonous.

I think if they'd spent a little more time engineering how to make this a full, intricate and flowing fragrance it could have been amazing. If only they'd put in relevant notes and given them all a chance to shine, Tattoo may have become the evening signature for many.

adrienn99

with the initial burst this one started off strong, dark and plummy...not sure about the milk and rice note. Vanilla is clearly there though. It's pretty weak though, both sillage and longevity is correlating to zero.
I like the concept though but the execution is lacking.
Someone mentioned Kenzo Amour which I agree with. Although Amour is very persistent.

fluffydeathkitty

This was one of those "spray on, keep sniffing wrists for an hour, run back to the shop" moments. This is such a beautiful creamy, milky floral. The composition somehow just works. It reminds me a little bit of Kat von D's Saint which I also own and love. It's quite harsh and dark in the opening but the milky vanilla soon sweetens the whole deal creating something truly unique.

Pavleena

This is one of my winter favourites, which is why it pained me to learn Diesel has discontinued it recently.

It starts with bright cassis with citruses which lasts for about 20 minutes. After that, my beloved phase of milky flowers goes for hours to be ultimately replaced with creamy combo of the base notes.

It's called Tattoo for a reason, so expect soft to moderate sillage.

Unfortunately I've read that some people's skin turns it into unpleasant smell of sour milk, so test before you buy!

boannika

This one is nice enough, I guess. I mean I've almost forgotten I had it so I didn't wear it a lot. It's somehow bland with no 'personality',like when you meet someone for the first time and you're like 'oh, she's ok, she's sweet', and then after some time she aproaches you on the street, you're like 'Have we met'?, cause she's not quite that memorable. To me, it's got that Britney Spears Fantasy type of smell (minus all that sour fruit), and I actually used to layer this with Fantasy, to kill all that sourness on my skin. It's ok from time to time , just nothing special at all.

UPDATE: For all of you guys who love this smell: Garnier has a hair conditioner named 'Oat Milk', smells IDENTICAL to this.
German:
(Garnier, Wahre Schätze 'Hafermilch')

SailorV

At first I liked Loverdose Tattoo. It starts fruity fresh, almost minty for a minute. Then I smell black currants, warm milk and slightly roasted rice, with some licorice and a hint of rose. It's an eclectic mixture that appeals to me, as I love rice notes, warm and gourmand scents in general. It all dries down to sweet vanilla and florals, powdery, still with milk and rice but not as prominent.
I don't know why, but this is a purple scent to me.
Loverdose Tattoo smells nice and contains a lot of things I like, but still I'm not really into it. It misses some clearness and elegance. The notes don't feel well blended to me, but like they cancel each other out after a few hours of wearing. Some moments I can smell everything just fine, but at other times I know the perfume is still there, but my nose can't quite catch the scent.
Something similar, with rice and milk, cassis, vanilla and rose, but in a higher quality would be so amazing!

debiekimberley

This one is by far my favourite perfume. I picked this up almost 4 years ago and even after buying/ receiving other perfumes, this still stands out to me. It's very warm and creamy with a strong vanilly-toncabean vibe in it. However the beginning is a little bit more fresh (not really fresh either actually, just a bit fresher than in the end) and a tiny bit harsh, but that fades quite quickly. This perfume I'd definitely recommend for women who want to smell very sensual and comfortable. Great scent for date nights but also wearable on colder days. Oddly this reminds me a bit of Posion girl by Dior, even though that one feels a bit younger and more innocent.

applestrudle

The top is sweet, like a pastel-ey Refreshers smell, followed by a brief tea note. Then it becomes bitter :(

jayde_x

Creamy, sweet rice pudding, juicy fruits and fresh white flowers. The tonka bean in this is dreamy and leaves a trail all day that smells just beautiful. Sillage and longevity are both good, it's a perfume closely appreciated not a loud show off.

And can we talk about the bottle? Ahh, I love it!

fraggirl

Smells like creamy, smooth french vanilla ice cream or rice pudding, perhaps with a wisp of coffee. It's sweet but not in a sickly way. The tonka I think helps to ground it. I get a lot of milk and rice. It's a fragrance to spritz lightly, so as not to overpower. If you don't go at it with a light hand, it's overpowering... I can see how it might not please everyone as it's pretty strong. But in small doses it's almost soothing. Also gotta mention the packaging -- the contradiction of such a cozy, comforting fragrance coming in quite a dark, edgy bottle makes me laugh.

Smells like Signorina but slightly less milky and without the pencil shaving note I smell in Signorina. It's a milky, tart berry and white floral scent. Creamy and sweet but light. I'd probably love it if not for the tart, sweet cassis. It's the same issue I had with Signorina.

chimidoro

Warm cocoa, coconut, sugary berries & orange blossom.

Develops nicely after a harsh opening. While I find that this can appear rather simplistic, I don't believe it's to its detriment. I find the chocolatey note unique and impressively done.

The orange blossom note is of the same character as that used in the Red Kiss version and, most notably, the same as that used in Dolce & Gabbana pour femme - the later release, not red cap.

There is also (possibly) a product by LUSH that shares some likeness to this, but I presently can't recall which! Maybe Yuzu & Cocoa? I believe so.

I find zero similarity to Kenzo Amour.
Failing to recognise even the most remote link between the two. Upon smelling this, I feel that the fact that they both claim to include notes of vanilla and rice provides zero justification to acknowledge any comparison.

Gentle projection. Cosy, soft, sweet. Let down only by a short lifespan.

Definitely an all-encompassing, predominantly chocolate based scent with sweet, sugared berries, orange blossom and a few handfuls of coconut mushrooms.

Yeah, coconut mushrooms.
This is very edible and yummy.

Kohla1

Lovely scent but it only lasted 20 minutes. My skin does eat perfume but this is really bad.

cccupcake

This is just perfect! Very long lasting, creamy scent for autumn/winter. :)

Daria_21

Pommegome - what exactly does a breastfed baby smell like?!

I blind bought this recently, and I can assure anybody who is considering buying it, that it does not smell like a breastfed baby (whatever that means).

To my nose, it's a rich, warm, creamy vanilla, with a wee bit of fresh floral thrown in for good measure. It projects beautifully (moderate to heavy), and has excellent lasting power. It does remind me of Kenzo Amour, and somewhat of Hypnotic Poison, but it's really not similar to either of them. It just makes me think of them for some reason.

If you're into creamy vanilla fragrances, I would say this would be a safe blind buy for you. It's very suitable for the cooler months. It's quite heady, so I can see it being a bit cloying in hot weather if you overdo it.

All in all, I think it's lovely. Nothing groundbreaking, and not in my top 5, but I will be reaching for it this fall and winter and will enjoy it's rich vanilla blanket with pleasure.

pommegom

This is just disgusting on my skin. Smells like a breast-fed baby. Sorry for saying that.

arefuthescroob

Mmm, it's such a lovely and cute scent! Beautiful. Too bad it doesn't last long, and vanilla fades away pretty quickly as well.

margarita.angelova

The milk note is very prominent and this is the first time I try such a scent. Quite interesting. Smells just like a baby! Although I'm not so sure if I'd like to present myself smelling like that :D

For Christmas last year I bought my partner Only The Brave Tattoo. It was my first fragrant gift to him, and naturally wanting to match him in scent, I decided to test its female counterpart, Loverdose Tattoo for Women.

I really like this fragrance despite its sweetness. Loverdose Tattoo is sugary vanilla, creamy milk and white, fluffy rice pudding to my nose. A true gourmand.

Luckily my partner adores sweet scents on my skin. He finds them very attractive and agrees favourably with Loverdose Tattoo. And whilst this fragrance may not be the best gourmand on the market today, it is definitely pleasing and surprisingly quite unique.

There are no similarities between the original Loverdose and this flanker. They are two entirely different scents. The original is licorice based, whereas Loverdose Tattoo smells predominantly of vanilla.

It's not a fragrance for everyone, however with that being said younger women may be drawn to it due to its sweet, sugary aroma.

Madrona

I am a fan of the original Loverdose, but I cannot smell much of the original in this. That's not necessarily a bad thing, however. Upon initially spritzing it onto my wrist my first association is a muted Diesel Plus Plus Feminine, that is, without the synthetic plastic screechiness - which to me is a substantial part of the charm of DPPF (I wrote "sex toys, coconut oil, PVC and GHB" in my review of said fragrance and promptly made it my first choice for clubbing).

The cassis reads very strong to my nose, I recognize it instantly from Armani Si and YSL Manifesto, two fragrances that aren't necessarily my favorite. It adds a green dimension which keeps Loverdose Tattoo from going in the direction of another vanillic milky rice scent, Kenzo Amour. Now, if I could only get my hands on Loverdose Red Kiss...

Dazzlindessie

Hmmm, I find this a bit of an odd one but I fear it may be down to my once over zealous application!

I tried it randomly in a store and with one squirt was so enamoured that I didn't hesitate to buy it there and then. Even my fiance who can't abide vanilla was instantly taken with how it smelled as the vanilla wasn't the immediate hit, he could smell a muskiness........."great, a gourmand I can wear confidently, knowing it won't repulse him" I thought.

So, I wore it a few days on the trot, just four spritz' and then a mist on my clothes and I was loving it on my skin! I could really catch the jasmine but for some reason I could smell violet, very odd but strangely nice (given that I hate violet normally! ) It was the vanilla and Tonka bean that shone through but I simply wasn't getting the milk or rice and was beginning to think Tattoo was just very synthetic and teenage like :-(

I then tried it in the evening on a night out and sprayed to much on myself as I had a blocked nose and couldn't judge it....big mistake!! I couldn't smell it for first ten minutes, then literally got the worst waft of sour milk and sickly caramel ( again why the caramel I don't know!) I found myself rubbing at it to get it off but all I did was bruise the scent and it ended up smelling like baby sick. It clung to everything and even though noone else seemed to notice it, I couldn't wait to get home and shower :-(

Anyway, after vowing I would trade it with someone, I gave it a second chance after I picked up a jumper I'd worn when I bought it and could smell it still on there, in all it's initial loveliness :-D It had softened to a sugary, velvety, softness, enriched with a slightly flowery, more grown up edge. I was SO impressed I went and bought a second bottle as it was on sale really cheap ( even though I had loads left! lol )

I guess it's like the old saying goes "if at first you don't succeed, try and try again" and I'm so glad I did :-D

Tattoo is in many ways like YSL Black Opium ( which is my fave floral/gourmand! ) minus the coffee but does not have nearly the same longevity.

It really is a DIVINE scent but know your skin chemistry, as just one squirt to much is nausea overkill!

angiec777

Sooo creamy! I saw the milk listed here and my curiosity enticed me to sample it and I am not disappointed. It also reminds me of why I used to love vanilla fragrances so much. The dry down is clean and fresh to me. I will definitely be buying a bottle.

Shiffy

The first spray reveals a delicately soft and sweet, milky and floral where is the space with arrogance jasmine and orange blossom. I do not perceive the rose and citrus fruits are also covered by the most pungent black currants.
spent the first 5 to 6 minutes, the fragrance becomes soft and balanced, just barely musky / dusty. After a couple of hours left wrist slightly sweetish note that is perceived only in very close proximity on (practically with his nose on the wrist).
Overall it is a creamy and warm gourmand fragrance, especially suited for the days of autumn / winter. It is a scent that evokes the whole idea of the white chocolate. The resemblance to Black Opium is and feels. Black though Opium is a dark fragrance, darker, smoky and firm, which to some may cause dislikes or headaches, because of its impetus. ILoverdose Tattoo, on the contrary of Black Opium is more easily wearable thanks to its powdery softness that makes it less overwhelming dell'YSL. The two fragrances are also different in olfactory course of evolution, in fact, while Black Opium is a rich and persistent scent, which has a sillage important and can last all day, Loverdose Tattoo takes a few hours to leave. To be more precise, I would venture to unite Loverdose Tattoo Black Opium in eau de toilette version, because the latter is lighter and less intrusive.

Crystals On My Converse

If anyone wants to do a swap for 30ml of this I will happily oblige - I bought this online and dont really like it. PM Me - UK only please!

_Lashes_

I got this in the sale and it sits in my drawer at work for emergencies when I need to spray something...anything! It hardly gets used to be honest. I definetly prefer it to the original loverdose, it's a creamy vanilla which I love but very light, safe and a bit generic. Nothing special about it. The bottle is nice though.

taylors91

On my skin this smells like it's trying to copy Kenzo's Amour. Amour's sweet smokey and powdery. Loverdose Tattoo is cheap musty stale imitation of Amour on my skin. Wont purchase it as i don't like it. The only one I love from the Loverdose series is Red Kiss, now that is heaven on my skin.

x-x-x-ANGEL-x-x-x

After blind buying this (and usually it works out for the good for me), but this smells like warm vanilla milkshake. Which is slightly sickening, maybe after a few days I'll give it another try, but as for now, it's a now from me.

fragrantperfumes

I had picked this one because I couldn't decide which perfume I wanted in the Shoppers Drug Mart perfume sampler my kids often get me for Christmas (they definitely know what their mommy likes :)). It's definitey different. It is very warmly sweet with a kind of juicy tang. The longevity is not that great. Some reviews have said it smells like a cheap perfume (I can kind of see that--but the price is far from cheap). I think it might also be better suited to a younger woman.

Delila

This is a very sweet and slightly chemical celebrity-style frag, but it's quite nice.

It's so close to being identical to Meow by Katy Perry that at first I thought they were the same product in a different bottle. On careful examination, though, there are differences. It seems to me that...
- Diesel is stronger (super strong!) on first application
- Diesel fades faster
- Meow holds the rather pleasant sweet central note for much longer

If you like Diesel then I expect you will prefer Meow, as it's nearly identical and its minor differences are all improvements.

sherien

I had mixed feelings about this perfume, I kept testing it in stores for 6 months randomly till I decided to buy it.. then it was a hate relation.. it just triggered my sinuses badly when applied.. I kept it for a while.. till one nice winter day.. on a clean skin I applied it once more.. OMG I was so wrong.. it is really nice, elegant and flirty at the same time.. and I found out why I hated it before.. I tried it during summer and I live in Dubai where its very hot and humid.. so the secret of this perfume is too things.. cool weather and clean skin.. and by the way.. on my skin, it smells a lot like marzipan mixed with white flowers.. and God .. I love Marzipan.. :)

Sinner's Paradise

Planning on buying it, seems much better than the original, softer.

Bee-young-ka

I have a lot of Perfume, not that I am too perfume what Imelda Marcos is too shoes by any stretch, but I have a number and most days on the outset I ask my love, can you smell my Perfume? with the inclination on Do you like it?
Only to get a dismissive "Yeah, it's nice, smells like perfume"

I got Loverdose Tattoo in the mail (and I might add after trying to describe what my new juice might smell like and getting a negative reception...Milk??)
I try it on clean skin and all of a sudden it's "Hey, What's that Sexy Smell"
Nice One Diesel.

The milk is blended with the vanilla and I can pick out the rice giving it a dessert smell but there is a light green smell and gentle flowery note that is impossible to pick out on my skin.

Scent 10/10

Bottle 10/10

bargouga

It is an absolute winter frangrance I believe. Can´t wear it at work. I am a big fun of it at home. It kind of mixes very well with my skin and my partner says it is so sexy. Agree, it is called Tattoo for a reason.

catperson

Smells like vanilla pudding :)

mschnabel666

Having rose and vanilla in common, plus a few other notes... Avon's Imari Elixir reminds me of Tattoo, and it's super cheap.
Elixir isn't as fruity, but it's worth a sniff if you love Tattoo but want a cheap alternative for casual, self indulgent wear. I'm in love with Elixir and Tattoo.

My previous spoiled milk comments still stand, but Tattoo is so much better once you get used to it, or else it completely changed on me.

TriniHunnie

I love Vanilla and sadly the only good thing I can say about this is that I really like the bottle.

The most I can give this is a 3/10, very disappointing.

GourmandGirl

If it wasn't for the milk, I would have loved this perfume! I am a gourmand freak, so I can't work out why I didn't like this... all I smelled was rice pudding, which should have been heaven to me, (rice pudding is one of my favourite desserts), but it just made me feel sick!

The vanilla is wonderful though, just not mixed with the milk! I can almost imagine the milk note turning sour on a hot day, just like it does if you leave it out the fridge. I just can't get over the smell of it in a perfume, there's just something not quite right about that. So disappointed, as this is one I technically should have absolutely loved.

May give it another try in a few months though, as there's just something about this perfume I don't quite want to give up on....

Edit; Well what can I say? I brought it as I couldn't quite get it off my mind, and it was on sale for £10..... and I love it!! The tester in the shop must have been bad, cos this new bottle smells a whole lot better!! Glad I took the plunge, it really does smell heavenly, with not so much of the 'rice pudding' hit to it now.

LisaMari

The is a muted version of Kenzo Amour. The cassis is very strong in this so its more like a synthetic microwaved cassis milk rather than vanilla milk. the sweetness is hot like something almost burnt and musty - there is no freshness in this at all.. I don't like it :p

Museumgal

Sweet but not as overwhelming as the original. This is less spicy and gentler than the original -- the milky note tones down the loudness of the scent. Still has the Loverdose "base" vanilla -- sweet and heavy with something a bit spicy -- but it's not as strong. Lasts well, 6 hours. Good for day to night wear or if you want something sweet but not too overwhelming.

Musume

There is a serious discordance between the bottle and the smell of this perfume. When you see a crystal black heart you imagine a spicy, dark, cruel oriental scent, well not in this case, Loverdose tattoo is a darling of a fragance, redolent of warm and cuddly notes such as milk, vanilla, rice and sweet florals. It reminds me of Malizia Bon Bon Milkshake but softer and in a way nicer. I'm planning to buy it once I get to finish all my milky comforting scents.

mschnabel666

I'm a gourmand/foodie/sweetie freak, so this popped up on my radar, and I blind bought a bottle for the best price I could find. (I just got Loverdose too, and I freakin' love that!)

It just came. this is a napkin/paper test.

It's unusual, I'm not sure what I expected, but this isn't it. (I saw comparisons to Kenzo Amour, which I have- but this isn't like that). I like it, it smells like a bowl of fruity cereal and milk, with some fresh flowers next to it. :)
When I deeply inhale the scent, the milky note smells spoiled/funky/rotten in a way... Def fruity. It's unique to me, but yet not. It's not a fruity floral like Ed Hardy, Celebs, FCUK, or the like....
Def a bowl of fruity cereal. (with a hint of baby milk puke... lol..... but don't get me wrong-- I still like this! Haha!)

I've worn twice now on skin/clothes and it's the rose that is making this perfume smell sour/rotten/spoiled. It kills the milk and the fruit notes in a bad way.... but... overall it's still a sweet pleasant perfume if you don't dissect it. :)

The more I wear it, the more I love it! I just bought Black Opium too (online, not delivered yet) and I'm so excited!

Rebelrebel

To me Loverdose Tattoo has a slightly powdery(The Tonka Bean perhaps?), steamy, creamy milk scent with small hints of jasmine and rose and maybe a bit of rice but the rice isn't very noticeable to me. I don't smell any mandarin orange or orange blossom and I'm not sure what Cassis is so I can't say if I smell it or not.
It's sweet but not oozing-sugar sweet, but it's still strong and slightly musky -- not overpoweringly so though. It lasts maybe four-five on me which isn't bad.

I think any age could wear this. When I smell it I just automatically think of "Rock n roll". The bottle is also gorgeous.

raptorette

The opening smells floral on my skin, with jasmine & orange blossom giving way to sweet milk & rice within 30 minutes. I've been trying to recall what Loverdose Tattoo reminds me of, & I think I've found it; sweetened condensed milk. Yum!

The sillage is ok on my skin, radiating several inches from my wrists. Longevity is still unknown, but it's lasted over an hour & is still going strong.

If you love sweet gourmand scents, & if nothing is ever too sweet for you, grab a sample vial of Loverdose Tattoo on eBay (the full bottles are kinda expensive for a blind buy.)

raptorette

I can smell sweet milk & rice, as well as jasmine & orange blossom in the opening. But after the 1st half hour the florals have all faded, leaving just the extremely sweet & slightly milky scent behind. If you love sweet gourmand scents, & if nothing is ever too sweet for you, I'd recommend Loverdose Tattoo. Just get a sample vial on eBay first, since a full bottle is expensive.

raiza1990

At first i was thinking i would not like this. Today i tested it at the store without much expectations, but it positively surprise me. it´s dark, sweet and sexy without having to scream on your face "i am a femme fatale!". i think it is a good perfume for introverts. the Milk note is really good made and the vanilla is so sensual. it a well made fragrance. i also get a masculine touch on it, but overall it is really feminine. it is not girly, what i appreciate. it is not a perfume who will offend anyone, but i would not recommend blind buy it. i think the commercial is also well made. so many perfume commercials don´t represent the fragrances well. but with Loverdose tattoo what you see is really what you get. dark, sexy, but not a scary kind of dark.
On me the longevity is moderate (6 hours) and it sits close to the skin.
Note: 8/10
i really think i will add it to my collection
P.s: the Red Kiss is also very good, but i think i like this one more.

SoheePark

By the way, how does this (milky vanilla) smell like YSL Black Opium (coffee) ?? Break it down for me, will you.

SoheePark

I don't know why it is named "Tattoo". It is such a nice and pure fragrance. Very milky-caramelish. Sooo good. Cheap too. I want it!! It is not too sweet. Normally I hate sweet perfumes but this one is sweet in a manner that you wouldnt mind it at all!

Wheaters

Ooh this is a good one. It's very milky. And vanilla-y. Such a soft scent too, not overpowering. Not powdery but very sweet. It might be too sweet for some but I love it.
Don't think the projection/sillage/longevity is up to much though unfortunately.
Would definitely buy again if I could get on discount.

TonioValentine

I got this one as a Christmas gift last year, I love it so much! When I opened it and saw the pitch black heart and the name having the word tattoo in it I thought it was going to smell a lot different then it actually does. It's very sweet, the vanilla/tonka bean mixture coupled with the milky note almost gives me a sugar cookie and milk kind of vibe. It lasts a really long time on my skin and even longer on my clothes, I can still smell it a day later on my hoodie! The sweetness could get very cloying so I'd suggest using this one with a light hand, two sprays will do.

All in all it's a pretty perfume, if you like sweet scents then I'd say this is for you and if you don't like sweet scents then this is definitely not for you.

Escoteric

Gives you a headache and cloying sickness, full of roses, and sweetness sickly sweet and cloying and so wrong!

mvd99

I wanted this to be a love so badly so as to replace my beloved Kenzo Amour Le Parfum so it's with a heavy heart that I must say it wasn't even a solid like. The milk note was not really that pleasant for me and I really can't detect the rice note. It's all milk and vanilla, all the time. The milk note is so prominent, it's more like cream and it reminds me on Malizia Bon Bon (sp) which I already have so I'm glad I didn't blind buy it. For what it is, aquiline Gold Sugar fits the bill quite nicely.

Yayatan

I broke the vial, so now I'm smelling it on a piece of tissue I used to soak up the remains of the perfume. It smells like a baby covered up in some sort of fancy perfumed powder meant for an adult. The milky note spoilt it for me as I dislike the smell of milk, but it's only personal (I'm lactose intolerant). I still find it interesting though. It's just not for me.

fragranceh

I'm a big fan of YSL Black Opium (even though i don't have it) but it's a bit too expensive, so i decided to buy this one! The smell is very similar but this is softer and it has more vanilla in it. :)

icysdn

@Orshi gave the right image for this. no skirts and heels, but black leather jacket and additionally, blue jeans and black leather booties. this must be worn ith this combination in fall, i think this perfume suits this image best :) just like its bottle, there's definitely something dark in it. yes it's sexxy, but not like ch 212 sexy. tattoo has a more rebelliously and mysteriously sexy image and i think citrus notes contribute to that feeling. so i can say it has a character. try it, you won't regret:)

babydoll77

On my skin this is a creamier and yet less inviting CK Eternity. Very nice but seems a copy of what was and not a mixture of sth to copy. Might end up purchasing this as a 9-5 winter scent but it's not WOW enough to use when going out or as a signature scent.

Ammzy

Boring much nicer when it's travelled on your skin for a few hours. It is not sexy, mysterious or clever, it's just another episode of a test perfume.
It does last along time which I love but I don't think it's too strong to the nose, it just lasts and as so it softens and becomes a lovely vanilla, to me it's still boring but I think I need to give it a chance. I wouldn't buy upon what people say but to investigate in a tester to be sure.

GinWeed

I fell in love with the bottling of this one, but the fragrance was too "attacking", it was all over the place and my nose wouldn't get a rest. It seemed so cool at first and I had high expectations, which weren't met. To me the disappointment was that the smell was so, SO heavy. I somehow come to think of this as a heavier version of CK's Reveal, and they don't even have the same notes. Just weird. Not my type, I guess.

ellina1984

Citrusy and flowery at the top (jasmine is what I mainly get). Then vanilla and rice, milky pudding style, and at this point it reminds me of Kenzo Amour, although the latter is boozier and more full-bodied. If Kenzo Amour is a vanilla custard spiked with vodka, this is a kindergarten custard - mmellower and tamer. Then the drydown is tonka and vanilla, and reminds me of Black Opium.

This is a great comfort scent, and I would absolutely add it to my collection, but I already own Kenzo Amour and Black Opium, and this one seems to be a collage of the two. Gorgeous comfort scent! (And way better than the original Diesel Loverdose!)

Luthien999

Combination of vanilla, milk and tonka bean is suitable for cold weather. I enjoy this fragrance so much. Impressive and unique! I am lucky to have it in my collection. By the way, the bottle is gorgeous. Good job, Diesel! lml

Shimoldeam

I am a sucker for any vanilla/tonka/jasmine scent. This is a lovely comfortable fragrance thats about right for the price.

Alison Wonderland

Found this perfume on a fragrance card of In style magazine, funnily enough I have to say it comforts me.

Milky rice dreaminess in harmony with tonka and jasmine. The juxtaposition of the name and bottle "Loverdose Tatoo" with the soft, inviting juice within.

This perfume reminds me of my friends in the Gothic/Alt London scene...sure, you may be covered in tattoo's, have a green Mohawk, New Rock stomper boots and synthetic dreds, but inside your the sweetest person ever and we have cups of tea at afterparties while your kitten curls up on my lap.

Edit: Caved and bought the gift set online. Really enjoying this as a nightly comfort scent! ^_^ It also smells expensive, really plush and just lovely. Only negative is the bottle, while beautiful, is hardly practical especially as I don't have a box or stand for it. It doesn't stand on its own and can easily scratch my other perfumes :/ (I have the same problem with Royal Revolution.) Still I guess beautiful things can't all be practical lol. For now I put it in another perfume box so its safe :)

labradorite

Seeing the tough looking heart shaped bottle with a dagger running through the middle, I certainly didn't expect to meet the warm, welcoming, nostalgic smell of my favourite homemade vanilla rice pudding from my childhood. But basically, that's what Loverdose Tattoo becomes on my skin. Milk, rice and vanilla dominates the scent from the very beginning, although I get whiffs of the rest of the notes during the subtle transformation into the final drydown. The citrus notes and especially the cassis gives it a spicy spin in the beginning and as soon as that sharpness disappears there's a slight reminder of jasmine and rose but they're very ghostly, barely there. I don't mind it actually, I like how Loverdose Tattoo mainly focuses on the base notes. It's nostalgic and comfortable and I feel very edible wearing it. It's quite a simple scent yet pretty unique I'd say. Both longevity and sillage are moderate on me.

Obssessed!

Its sexy in liquid. I wasnt at all phased by the original but this one is something id spend money on. There are some notes in the first one that put me off which are gone in this one. I really smell the milky vanilla-ness, its a really nice scent.

MathildaFhyr

A VERY sweet perfume wich I like, but i tried this in the middle of the summer, and then it feels too heavy! But I can totally see myself wearing it in the winter. Smells alot of vanilla and milk!

The Swedish girl

This smells like scented condoms to my nose, haha. Like sweet rubber.

almarie

I got this off eBay and I really enjoy this one almost as much as the original. I am glad that I purchased both as I adore both of them!

Pepperflower

Delicious vanilla-cream rice cake. Thick sweet milk, warm rice, sweet vanilla&tonka. Very strong, and great staying power. I find this very unique for the milk-rice notes which I dont find so often and it smells soothing in a way which is funny because this is Loverdose "Tattoo" and I wouldnt describe tattoos as milky-sweet-ricey and definetly not soothing! Anyways, as deliciously unique as this smells, Unfortunatly I would not wear it because its too sweet for a perfume for me. But as a body lotion, body wash, or bubble bath, that would be perfect!

stayclassy

This is my first vanilla rice milk fragrance. I know there's a lot of comparisons to Amor, I haven't tried Amor, but there's not milk in Amor(milky rice is what they list).

Plus the other notes of incense and tea, just wasn't sure how that was going to pan out. Tattoo seemed closer to what I was looking for. Oh man, for a blind buy, it certainly delivered.

I always get nervous spending that much on a blind buy, but this turned out really well. The rice, milk and vanilla are all there for me and there's just enough of something else to make it not bland or boring.

I think a few others said it's a bit weak, I'd have to agree, I don't think its a huge, loud scent. But maybe it just needs to breath or live a bit more to get there. Right now, though, it seems to be a lighter scent.

It certainly isn't the strongest fragrance, but I think I'm ok with that because any stronger and I don't think I could wear it in the spring or summer. It's just light enough that I think I can wear it in the summer without it being too cloying. But I have to test that a few more times when it gets into the sweltering range to be sure.

Overall though, I'm really happy and relieved on this blind buy.

Czarcasm

I love the original Loverdose, so I really wanted to try this. I already knew that the notes of Tattoo are very different compared to those of the original one, so I wasn't expecting them to smell alike. I finally got my sample vial last week and I've been trying it out for some days now.

Bear in mind that this was my first experience with the milk note in a perfume. My nose is not very experienced yet. Tattoo was extremely milky on me. But it's not a cool, fresh milk like I was anticipating. Instead it smelled more like baby formula or stale biscuits drenched in milk on me. The vanilla and rice were slightly noticeable as well, but the baby milk smell was definitely the most present. This fragrance probably would've been better if it had some spicy or sweet note.

Overall, I don't really care for Tattoo. I don't hate it, but it's not going on my like shelf either. If I had to classify this it would be a 'meh'. To my nose, this doesn't even smell like a perfume. It smells like a baby decided to cough up their milk on me.

mandygrimreaper

I loved Kenzo Amour (vanilla, milk, rice) so I knew I had to try this, especially since it didn't have notes of frangipani that bothered me a little in Amour. This is a lovely, warm, comforting fragrance; perfect for the winter. May be too heavy in warmer weather. The bergamot really comes out on my skin and keeps it from smelling too sweet. Sillage and longevity are excellent. A very unique vanilla scent. LOVE!

jadelove

Finally, I get to try Loverdose Tattoo!! I loved the spicyness of the original with the licorice and star anise, and while I liked Tattoo, I was missing that spicy note that helped it not become a boring vanilla.

Not that Tattoo isn't nice, I do like it and I am considering buying due to the lovely bottle (one I will probably keep long after the juice is gone) and because the staying power is very very good. The drydown is a warm creamy vanilla.

If you hated the spices in Loverdose - this will suit you! If you loved them, you'll be missing them in Tattoo.

deda147

This one is quite a lovely fume. It opens up quite sweet; like a sparkling, sweet fizzy soda. The flowers show themselves quite soon and lend a jammy, slight floral effect to the composition. Half an hour later the basenotes come into play and that's my favourite part of the fragrance's progession: it still has the sweetness of the opening and middle stage, but it's toned down by the rice/tonka bean and the vanilla is the lovely, soft, full and round kind, thanks to the milk note. Sillage was quite big in the beginning, but it becomes a skin scent about 1 hour in. This one has to be tested on skin; the transition on a paper blotter was quite different to me; a lot more bright and fizzy, not the milky vanilla I got on my skin.

mistykerryn

Yay! I am so excited to have finally found this in a Myer store in Australia. I am happy to say the anticipation was worth it for me! Well at first I thought it was too rice-y and that turned me off because it was slightly strange, but once it settles it becomes this beautiful creamy, milky, vanilla. I still got the rice note but it was now blended in with the vanilla really well and it made like a sweet, warm rice pudding. I also catch the tangy citrus notes in the background mellowed out by the floral notes and oh my goodness it's just delicious. Dry down is slightly powdery but mostly sweet vanilla with an edge to it. Very unique vanilla fragrance, signature-scent worthy, so warm and cosy, I'd wear it in Winter, lasted quite long as well. Also nothing like the original Loverdose, not even the vanilla is very much the same. I can't decide which one I love more. Can't wait to get a bottle of this.

CPelly82

Powdery with a hint of vanilla. Received a sample from my local drug store and fell in love. Can be worn anytime for any occasion. If you're like me and prefer more subtle scents then this would be great for you also. Floral scents tend to stink on me so I try to stick to sweet or spicy perfumes.

Sannee77

Really beautiful fragrance, soft, lovely and unique. The milkiness, the vanilla, the rice and the cassis is a fabulous combination, and the bottle is oh-so-gorgeous. Unfortunately the longevity on me is medium to weak (which is weird, because usually fragrances stay for days on my skin!). I would buy it instantly if the longevity was better, now I'm hesitating.

The original Loverdose is nice too, more edgy and noticeable, but gave me a headache.

alchemist1976stephanie

I don't like the original Loverdose, so I almost didn't try this. Boy am I glad I did though. It is vanilla with a classic femme edge. Not girly, not sickly sweet. This one has a sophistication to it that is befitting of a lady.
It starts out nice and warm... And it stays that way but with the most beautiful floral undertone. The sillage is comfortable and the longevity is wonderful. I get about 10 hours of gorgeousness. It dries down to a spicy vanilla floral without being fabric softener-y or having fading to nothing. I covet this! It is next on my buy list for sure!

I don't think I can really express how disappointed I am with this fragrance. I waited, forever it seems, for it to show up in a store here. Finally, it did - hooray! I did a cursory spritz, certain from the notes that I would love it, then brought it home. And I did love it - milky, creamy, just the right amount of vanilla sweetness. Soft sillage, but I don't find that a huge problem. But less than 2 hours later - POOF! Gone! A dozen sprays and yet, no trace! Very, very faint trace on my shirt, but that's it. I think I will be sticking with Kenzo Amour for my creamy vanilla rice milk perfume fix. Moral of the story - test. And test some more. Just because the notes all look perfect doesn't mean that it's going to be perfect on you.

Orshi

Wow! For me this is a creamy, sexy, edgy vanilla! This is not for someone who always wears skirts and dresses and heels, it's more for someone in a leather jacket and boots in my opinion.:) I absolutely love it and I crossed out many vanilla perfumes from my list because I think I found the best one for me in this.:)

stephanienwc

Sweet with a touch of spice and something masculine. Really nice. It reminds me of the original Loverdose but instead of licorice you smell vanilla musk. I perosnally like Loverdose better but this is really intriguing as well. It doesn't last very long on me though.

darksome

Very juicy, fruity opening. Reminds me on black berries.

After minutes it gets unbearable for me. Like smelling an old (rancid), dried out joghurt of mixed berries.

In the drydown it's a little more bearable, loosing this old, dry joghurt smell. It's spicier and I can now smell also tiny amount of flowers, but still mixed with creamy (but not old smelling), mixed berries base. This is the most pleasant stage of this scent. But I think the heart is just to much for me to truly liking it.

SS79

Yummy, creamy, smooth milky vanilla. This is so good! One that you can not stop smelling! This is so different from the original which I find pleasing as most flankers smell somewhat the same, but this is a welcoming surprise! Tattoo is for sure getting a spot on my shelf!!!

ScarlettX

This is really delicious creamy vanilla scent.
It could be that original Loverdose has more sweetness and medicament scent to it, but that one is also very good. I love both of them, I can't even decide which one I love more.
It is so comforting, I think it would be great to smell it when being in the bad mood.

Elmyra

Id LOOVE to try this!
Not available where im at tho -(
I dont particularly like the original Loverdose, too sickly - and thats coming from me - the lover of extreme sweet, almost edible scents...
Hmm i see this edition contains no liquerice.

cathy.bely

It is a nice sweet but not too sweet fragrance and cute bottle :)

amberjsheppard

This is exactly what I want from a perfume. A warm, powdery, creamy, vanilla gourmand scent which makes you smell good enough to eat!

Prettynightmary

Just pure smoothness. This fragrance really is round and fluffy. Makes you feel like you are jumping on clouds. Everything is so soft, warm and cuddly.
Milky, creamy vanilla rice pudding. Stays close to the skin and lasts quite a long time.
The bottle should be white and then it would fit perfect with the scent.

pompous

This perfume has that clean laundry smell like Victoria's Secret Angels Heavenly does. To me the two of them smell very similar, except this one is a lot more toned down and creamier. I like it a lot, and will probably pick up a bottle at some point.

kay0981

Tattoo really doesn't smell much like the original Loverdose. To me, the original is very sweet and sticky; Tattoo is warm and comforting, soft and more elegant. The signature licorice note of Loverdose is missing from this composition, and instead, we get a delicious, creamy blend of milk and rice notes, with a few floral accents in the opening. I smell fresh, zesty notes of mandarin orange and bergamot, which fade away quite quickly. Then, the composition becomes very smooth and milky, strengthened with spicy accords of tonka bean and a very pronounced and interesting rice note. Everything is tightly wrapped in a warm blanket of sweet vanilla :)

The longevity is good - 6+ hours on skin, and at least double that on clothes. The black glass heart-shaped bottle is absolutely gorgeous! This is definitely worth trying, whether you are a fan of the original Loverdose, or not – it's a truly lovely fragrance, and a great choice if you're looking for a grown up and sophisticated sweet scent.

I love sweet perfumes but this one is a bit too much. Unfortunately gave me a massive headache after wearing it for couple of hours. Shame because I quite like it. Smells like milky rice pudding with some berries on top.
Better than original Loverdose I think. Such a shame I cant wear it.

anna.glowacka

I'm sorry to leave negative review because i really wanted to like it but unfortunately i don't. Sadly i can't find any vanilla here. In the drydown very annoying perfumey note started to appear, it's sharp and unpleasant. It just smells cheap to me. There's nothing impressive about this scent but i believe there are people who would love it, i'm just not among them.
It's indeed like a tattoo - if you have it on your back and you don't see it at some point you forget that you have it. Here is the same - i was doubting if i wear any perfume at all because sillage on me is almost none and lasting power is good only on clothes.

I was a little lost when Loverdose Tattoo hit my skin, as the slightly synthetic sweetness rushed to my nose. After a few minutes, it calms down into a berry and rose flavoured sugary milk and stays so towards the end. This berry + vanilla combo remotely reminds me of CK One Shock for her, but Loverdose Tattoo seems to be more creamy. There is from time to time a whiff of rice steam, adding more comfort to the scent. Towards the very end, I find the tonka bean more distinctive than before.

The sillage is moderate and the longevity is towards 12 hours. Not overtly sweet, but I think that a sweet 'nose' is still required to appreciate it better. I don't find it particularly outstanding, but if you happen to be looking for an affordable creamy sweet comfort scent, Loverdose Tattoo, why not?

Aeternitas

Man, I would have loved to add this killer black bottle to my collection, next to my original Loverdose, but unfortunately I didn't like this Tattoo version. I got my sample and I have Tattoo on one wrist, the original on the other. There is NOTHING in common between the two other than vanilla in the base notes. I thought this would be a darker, more mysterious and potent version than the first, but it is actually lighter and best for daytime/summer (a great contradiction to the black, edgy bottle - quite deceiving!). Diesel, why you trick me?

If you found the licorice/star anise notes overbearing in the original Loverdose, then Tattoo might be your thing. It is a bit lackluster and generic for me, though; I like my scents strong, heady, and outspoken. This one's a bit tame. Another thing to note is that it wears poorly - it fades in about an hour. After about 2 hours, I can't smell it at all. The original lasts at least 5 hours.

As far as notes go, the top and middle fade within minutes and you are left with the milk, vanilla, tonka bean, and rice notes. A slight bit of jasmine sticks around, albeit very hesitantly. Not bad, but not special. Sweet, smooth, and gentle. I suppose, indeed like a tattoo, Loverdose Tattoo is a fragrance that wears close to the skin.

P.S. If anyone wants BOTH the samples of Tattoo and the original together, I'm willing to trade. Inbox me !

I want it so bad and can't find it anywhere!!!!! (canada)

YAY!!! Just got released @ Shoppers Drugmart :-) Yippee! Smells very warm and yummy.. can't wait to add it to my collection. Hopefully soon!

blueviolet

Mmmmmm Im getting this for my girlfriend, we both like similar smells so we do share sometimes. In this way I get to sniff her=) I find this better than the original, its less offensive, I guess you could say more mainstream, which I'm fine with. It is soft and sweet, comforting and warm. But with a touch of spice, perfect for winter. Score.

xVal

The scent in my opinion is really unique.
Don't get it wrong, this perfume is not that typical sweet vanilla teenager's perfume, it's sophisticated.
The fragrance is very seductive, definitely a perfmue for cold winter nights.
I would say it's a spicy sweet scent, at first you smell a nice sweet floral scent, minutes later you can detect the rice, what gives the perfume that "umph".
I can't say that the milk and the vanilla is that noticeable on me, it's blended well with the florals.
This perfume is definitely safer than loverdose, less less sweet, and more grown up.
Can't say it's as long lasting as loverdose, but still lasts pretty well.
Good job Diesel. :)

genny17

This is great! I really like it!!! Nice mix of sweet, floral and creamy notes, to create a real attractive scent, modern. I detect floral notes, the cassis which is lovely, real pretty creation, just a little. I will wear it lots! The drydown is creamy, with the milk coming into play, more quiet, a bit powdery, but Diesel did a great job on that one. It is real easy to wear, real pleasant.

mangocherry

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this perfume so much. My skin seems to cling onto musk and vanilla and there is plenty enough of that plus this smooth milkiness with a touch of floral... I adore it. Signorina is my favorite all time scent but this is now my second. The bottle suggests it may be a night time scent but I wear it at work and people always compliment me when they get close up to me. That said my sister who is more of a fan of floral and strong jasmine based smells did not like this. She smelled too much musk and not enough sweetness so it definitely depends on your body chemistry. I have not smelled the original Loverdose so I am not sure how it compares but I cannot stop sniffing my wrists and neither can my workmates!

johanna.lindholm

This is a good one! It's smooth, it's a little musky, milky, sweet, warm scent. On me it smells a little like cookies, but not in a sickly sweet way. It's way more better than the original Loverdose. They are the absolute opposites of each other.

vanillafreak

omfg omfg omfg this IS AMAZING , milky , creamy, rice note is lovely , it's like a bath in sweet milk with a tonka trail
must haaaaaaaaave, or i'll cry :((

polecat

This has similarities to kenzo amour but is a little sweeter (but not fruity) and lacks the tea and incense notes. It does mildly resemble vanilla rice pudding.

It's not a bad perfume and would work for winter day wear. Nothing *extraordinary* but do all fragrances have to be masterpieces?

lilou

I love Loverdose but Loverdose Tattoo is a complete mystery for me : I can't detect vanilla, or milk, just a little bit jasmine and rose, and a lot of cassis leaves. It's wild and almost masculine. To me : a great disappointment.
January 2014 :
I have to change my review. A few months after my 1st test I tried again and I can say that I love Loverdose Tattoo now. I tested it in another perfumery and the tester has been open for a few weeks, and it smelt completely different. Maybe the fragrance has "matured" ? But I could smell a delicious milky-vanilla fragrance. Rice and jasmine notes are also very present.
After this experience, I guess some fragrances need to mature to please me.
According to me Loverdose Tattoo is a high sensitive perfume which needs to mature on your skin, then it´s a true pleasure. Very comfy and powdery.
The lasting power is not as good as Loverdose.

johanna.lindholm

I hated the original Loverdose, so I'm really excited to try this one out!

marcello19

Tested this one. Not bad, but the original Loverdose is much better. This one is a pretty safe fragrance. Not bad at all, but nothing unique unfortunately. :(

Tanyaoxo

Hmm the rice-milk combo seems like it might be a copy of the new Signorina- which I'm desperate to try! Hopefully this will be a great smelling cheap alternative. One can only hope!

Enye

Looks and sounds nice, I can't wait!

RoRoSe

No Licorice No Star Anise, which is a good reason to make me try this ..

marcello19

Hmm... sounds delicious. Can't wait. I don't really like the original Loverdose, but this one sounds hot.
