I finally bought decant of this perfume despite ever sprayed it in department store. Needless to say I am underwhelmed. When you already have paco rabane olympea, ysl black opium, sol de janeiro 68, this perfume is redundant. It opens like olympea mixed with a bit of sol de janeiro, end up like oympea with a hint of black opium edp.
Projection and longevity moderate, price wise justified. But again, if you already have olympea or black opium, skip this perfume.

Girl of Now opens up sweet and creamy. Almond mixed with pistachio and tonka bean smells straight up like marzipan on my skin. It’s delicious, warm, comforting, kind of reminds me of Christmas. After some time orange blossom and citrus accords come into play, adding a little sparkling fruitiness to “marzipan”. Overall it smells super cozy and addictive.
GoN a wonderful gourmand scent. Longevity is far from the best (but that’s just how my skin is, nothing ever lasts). However projection is pretty good. Someone who walked beside me could detect “the smell of freshly baked cookies”. I’d say GoN is a safe blind buy for vanilla-gourmand-sweet frag lovers. Can’t wait to get a full bottle myself💛

Kari L

This might be a me problem but, all I can smell is orange blossom. Which is pretty but not exciting. To me it smells practically the same as Yes I Am. Medium lasting & intimate scent.

bandlgertrude

I discovered this fragrance after I realised pistachio and almond are notes I really enjoy and I already finished a 50 ml bottle. In my honest opinion I don’t think it’s a groundbreaking scent, or that original, but it’s sweet, gourmand yet still very wearable and crowd pleasing. I repurchased it because this is one of the few that I can still smell on me after I spray it (I get anosmic really easily) and I know if I can smell it, so can others. I only wore it on its own for fear of not suffocating others because it can be very strong if over sprayed.

Florabeth

One of my favourite perfumes in my collection and my favourite gourmet leaning perfume for definite. It makes me think of my favourite pistachio and almond cookies or a warm nutty pastry. With a heady note of orange blossom to the mix. I think this is one of the classiest perfumes I own. I always feel put together when I wear it. Mostly I wear in autumn or winter, but it works well on summer evenings too. I adore it

Parfluive

This is the sweetest perfum i own!
In a moderately far away past i owned Pamplelune, an aqua allegoria scent by Guerlain, that came very close to this sort of sweetness. (If i remember well ☺️)
Sticky summer sweetness. Citrussy sweetness, mandarine to be precise.
The pistachio almond nuttyness makes this scent delicious rich and and creamy.

I bought this perfume in winter thinking it would help me invoke a cozy, warm and sweet feeling during long dark and cold days. But hypnotic poison edp succeds far better at that for me.

This is more a scent for cozy, warm breezy summer evenings, for sweet sunsets and happy go lucky moments feeling light, bright and spirited.
Warmhearted, loving and playful.

It's a french ditsy floral dress with creamy decollete and a picknickbasket kind of scent for me.

Oh and the design of the bottle is absolutely beautiful to me!! Soo pretty with the gold randed blue petals and the reliëfs. Not cheap at all.

Lovely 💛

So interesting, I blind-bought this one a while ago and returned it, I was getting a prominent mandarin orange throughout the whole usage time, which bothered me, not a fan of strong citruses notes. But I really enjoy almonds in perfumes, so decided to buy it again and give it a try, voila seems like a whole different perfume to me, so I am wondering, if either my nose/perception has changed/ evolved or maybe that batch was a little different. The thing is, I am learning to give the perfume various tries before giving it up, and wow so many of my decants seem so different to me, this is a lesson/ journey I am enjoying.

sadlieh

this smells like a lidl almond croissant to me. i was disappointed by the dior poison line and it made me fear almond notes, however i love it here!

Acrelune

The middle sister of the triplets:
Poison Girl (Dior), Girl of Now (Elie Saab), and Wanted Girl (Azzaro).
All three smell almost the same with just a few differences.
Girl of now is more comforting and caring than her two other sisters, she loves baking cookies to make others feel better. she’s probably the Monica of the group.
But if you own one of the two others, don’t get this.

nevertheless123

This really reminds me of a perfume I bought in 2008, in a tall dark blue bottle shaped kind of like the Givenchy Irresistible bottle. Does anyone know which perfume I'm thinking of?

rosyjen

On me it smells like a wet sweater drying on a rack in the bathroom that was recently fogged with Glade.

iNayla

This is one of the most compliment getter by men.

I used to like it, as i grew up i tend not to go for those very very sweet scents. Overwhelming.

marsal

god no. This fragrance violated my nose disgusting heavy powdery scent with harsh grandma florals

MilaiaFoxe

This smellls like Azarro wanted girl🤦🏾♀️

iuliagabriela

Almond and pistachio syrup followed by sweet floral notes. This used to be quite popular a few years ago, but now I hardly hear anyone talking about it. I have an old bottle, so I don't know whether it has been reformulated, but I still consider it one of the best designer gourmands. I wore Baklava Royale earlier today, and it made me nostalgic for this one, they are similarly thick and nutty - although Girl of Now is much better in terms of longevity and projection.

Kekekie

I don't know if it's the almonds or one of the flowers but I do not like this fragrance. Reminds me of my 88 years old aunt though, this is nice, but unfortunately, I do not want to smell like her. :/

Luilind

Very sweet and floral. I’ve been getting compliments while wearing this. Strong projection and long lasting. I get the floral notes, the nuts, the vanilla, sweet candied fruits.

It’s like a floral desert. If Barbie wore a perfume, this would be it. It’s youthful, a never-ending bowl of single-packed colorful candies.

The wafts I get around me are great, but it’s so strong that I can only use it for parties/night.

I probably won’t get another decant as I rarely go partying these days, but I’m glad I’ve tried it.

ursula368

Nice but not good enough, outstanding, to my state, and reminds me of Black Opium, which I dislike...

yara.xo

these notes don’t work very well imo, its floral but the nuts make it bitter. as a huge elie saab fan the ‘girl of now’ collection is so disappointing, it’s like something you’d pick up at the body care store in your teens for £1.

BoutiqueLove

This has been reformulated and smells very cheap pungent and awful sadly

dine.vanille

I really wanted to love it, but on my skin it didn't work out well... the opening notes are beautiful, sweet, fruity and nutty, just the way I imagined. But then as it develops, it dries down to a very masculine and smokey scent on my skin, probably because of the Patchouli + Tonka Bean mix. Yes, it's still nutty, but not sweet at all.
Hear me out ladies: DON'T blind buy this! This was a blind buy for me and I was told nothing could go wrong because I love sweet nutty gourmands, but we never know how the final scent will be after the interaction with our skin chemistry..

Jacquis

The beauty of this perfume shines in the winter cold temperatures. I have owned Girl of Now for a few years and never really enjoyed it. I live in very warm to sticky hot climate where GON becomes syrup and heavy. I travelled to Canada during the winter and decided to take this perfume with me. It was lovely! So nutty and warm with a bit of air from the orange blossom. Elegant in cold weather. Stayed on my clothes forever. GON is a perfect everyday winter fragrance. Gets better and better with colder temperatures.

AgenticaBond007

I really like this one, easy going everyday perfume. If you like nutty and sweet perfumes don’t look any further. Goes in the same category as Sol de Janeiro 62. It really grew on me during last few months. Staying power isn’t great, around 3-4 hours, but reapply isn’t issue because it’s affordable.

Bea_strix

To visualise GoN, please picture a nutty dessert— like a Baklava maybe, but you are eating it in a flower garden in winter, draped in a shawl made of soft fleece.

The perfume begins with pear, a wave of sweetness, but this is almost immediately met by the rising nuttiness— playful pistachio and sombre almond. The sweetness is still there, but it is grounded by the savoury buttery pistachio and the slightly bitter milkiness of the almond. As time passes, these grounding notes grow stronger and the orange blossom too begins to shine through. This beautiful heart endures for quite many hours before gradually settling into a milky powdery sweetness.

GoN lasts for a very long time— projecting strongly for 3-4 hours and then reclining into a scent bubble. While for me it performs better on fabric than on skin, I find that it shines the best on wool and fleece. It simply radiates off my sweater or blazer. It is the perfect winter gourmand— BUT only if you love incredibly sweet things. Because GoN may be floral and nutty and milky and savoury, but it is first and foremost very very sweet.

The bottle is very oriental chic, with minakari (inlaid enamel) petals on top and Mughal style ridges at the bottom. Absolutely gorgeous enough to show off.

FruitPunch

Sophisticated sweet ,perfect winter scent,classy.

KimberMoon

I don’t get as much of the nuttiness or orange blossom that the majority of the reviews do. I do get a beautiful, sweet floral that is so delicious when layered with a good vanilla, you know the one - it cost too much to just be a layering scent, but it’s so linear, and is always reliable when you need to up the sweetness or richness of a perfume. You know this girl will do it. (Kyse Delicia De Marshmallow in my case). The combination is my favorite all-time, any time of year cozy compliment getter. It’s straight up cheating. You can get the effect with Azzaro Wanted Girl as well, just don’t need quite as much of your vanilla wing man because Azzaro ain’t tryna play, she’s sweet frfr. This is still a remarkable scent on its own, and very versatile as long as you don’t go crazy spraying because it’s for real. It’s a commitment for the day. Longevity and sillage are old school with this one, it’s no joke. For that reason alone it is worth what it’s going for these days. Bottom line; Nice, sweet, somewhat more affordable, versatile floral that you can turn into a sexy cuddle magnet by layering with a good vanilla if the mood arises.

dalkiuyu

Agree with the reviewers who say this is similar to JPG Scandal and Dior Poison Girl. I'm not saying they are dupes by any means but they all fall into that category of designer syrupy sweet orange blossom perfumes. This is not unpleasant or anything (and I prefer it out of the aforementioned) but I'm a little disappointed at how nondescriptly sweet it is. I had been hoping to pick up more on the pistachio and almond notes.

I think if you are interested in this perfume specifically because of those notes I mentioned you can probably get more nuttiness from something like Yum Pistachio Gelato, Mixbar's Whipped Almond, or even L'eau Couture from the Elie Saab line.

Nadia Khouri

so similar to scandal - jean paul . powerful & got people on the street ask me what am wearing.
I don't like it anymore because I had scandal & this so over done for me
otherwise nice one

AgusMartinez

This is a gem. It has this heavenly blen of almondy sort of marzipan like sweetness. The combination of the citric notes with the nutty ones and the Tonka are a bomb. I have it as a 10ml since it came as a gift with Girl of Now Lovely. I will get the full bottle once this is done

SSolstice

Girl of Now opens with a blast of nuttiness - a bitter almond, gourmand dream! But that soon wears down to a white floral fragrance on the skin, sadly with only a minimal trace of almond lingering in the background. I ended up exchanging my bottle for Hypnotic Poison, as that was my second choice in the hunt for an almond-forward scent. Still a pretty wear, just not what I was in the market for.

Keleful

About a year ago, I was visiting my home country. It was February and the southern hemisphere warm weather was in full swing. In the store there were different kinds of Elie Saab Girl of Now fragrances, it was my first time seeing this brand and I was intrigued.
I tried all of them and one stood out a little, leaving the store I realized the more I smelled it on my wrist the more I fell in love! But I couldn't remember which bottle it was, I just knew it was the one with the richest gold amber color. I went home and had a look here, I was convinced it was Forever, so I added that to my "I want it" pile.

Fast forward I'm back in the northern hemisphere, winter is in full swing and I finally have some extra pennies to purchase online. I was very confused by the colors and my skill for identifying scent profiles has improved since, so suddenly I was convinced, that the one I smelled before had to be the original. I purchased it and it came a day later, but the color is lighter and so is the fragrance.
It's still a beautiful fragrance but the heaviness I picked up before is just not there. And when I have a look at different pictures and videos online, the colors are that amber gold tint I remember. Needless to say, I'm disappointed.

Mennaa

I just got this, and idk if a got a bad batch or what, but I can barely smell it? It smells nice but a v v faint smell? I will let it set for a while but I’m quite confused

Bagpl

Bitter almond and white flowers, not a true gourmand but intense

Carolinefragrance

Girl of Now was a firm favourite of mine. It was one of the few sweet gourmands I enjoyed. It was heavy with nuttiness and sweetness with a great longevity. I am now on my second bottle and I now understand the comments about it being synthetic. For me it’s turned more into a floral, lighter perfume. It’s lost its depth. It’s also become more work appropriate since previous bottle was a bit too sweet and heavy. I now also realise that perfume batches differ. It could matter which year they were made and the quality and accessibility of ingredients. I also notice my first bottle was made in France. The second in Italy. It’s still a lovely perfume but I am returning to Girl of Now Shine for that nutty sweet and dense perfume I enjoy more.

Sarra816

I need time to sit with this one and perhaps let this bottle sit for a while.
Im not sure what I was expecting, I do get the almond and pistachio but I feel there is something missing...

Not the same vibe as Kayali's pistachio -- that was a powder sugar pistachio with rum
This is a roasted pistachio with underlying flowers and almond.. with an almost amaretto quality in the dry down.

Niche for sure and pretty bottle but I need to keep testing and layering different combos.

Crys_

I'm still working out what I like and what I don't like with perfumes.
I bought GON after owning GON: Shine for a number of years, given to me as a gift. I enjoy Shine but thought I would like a creamier, heavier version of it for the winter months - so I bought the original. At first I loved it, but it's been a year since and recently I've started picking up something 'alcoholic' about it that's very difficult to ignore. It's also present in Shine, but to a much more tolerable extent.
I can't say for sure, but I suspect it might be the florals. I have realised over time that synthetic florals smell unpleasant to me and a particularly strong presence of it smells like pure 'perfume alcohol' and gives me a headache. Which may explain why I've found myself leaning towards unisex perfumes, particularly in the summer when fragrances can feel more heady.
So please be aware if you're sensitive to florals that you may find this somewhat headache inducing.

I'll finish the (unfortunately 80ml...) bottle, but in the future I'll stick to Shine.

thepatch

Ok, this one lasts over 24h and I get similar nutty scent like in Korres Kashmere qumquat. I prefer Korres bcs pistachio note gives me ice cream vibes. It is also similar to pistachio in Brazilian Crush Sol de Janeiro, which I might prefer bcs of shorter longeivity and price. Overall this is a good warm winter perfume.

Phocoenas

i'm protecting this sample i have as if it was my child. i'm so in love and can't wait until i can afford it

pbeloborodova

Girl of Now is sweet, but also sharp and synthetic, as if someone brought a cake to a lab and accidentally sprayed some chemical on it. I really disliked it when I tried it for the first time, but I kind of like it now. Its strangely comforting synthetic accord adds an interesting twist to this otherwise generic sweet fragrance. Not worth getting a full bottle, but I’ll likely finish my travel spray.

SquidFragrance

Heavy and synthetic. To be fair, almond is not a note I love on me. But this was very heavy and very synthetic smelling to me. Had and sold.

Sarahaliii

I was ver excited when i saw pistachio listed but ismell non its smells floral mandrin almondy floral sweet but not what i expected

Beanie Anne

I smell white flowers. Don’t get any of the other notes listed.

PetyaK

One of my fave designer - almost niche - gourmand.

scent.2go

Sweet nutty and creamy heaven! Great for winter but is also lovely in spring and early summer then you can smell more flowers

IzabelaF

On me I can smell white fowers, maybe little bit of almond and vanilla. To me it is more floral then gourmand style perfume.

Jade-Ange D

It smells so sweet, nutty and creamy !!!

It reminds me of a really luxurious hotel’s Almond Milk soap (In a very good way) !
Thanks to the Almond and Almond milk, but then, it becomes more nutty and yummy with that perfect Pistachio, and a more discreet, but pleasant Tonka Bean !!!
The Mandarin and Pear are bright and sweet.
The Mandarin’s more delicate and adds a citrusy side in the opening, but the Pear is really noticeable, even if more subtle than the nutty notes.
The Pear is sweet, feels juicy and fresh, fruity and a bit brighter than the previously quoted notes.
Then White Florals (Orange Blossom, Magnolia) are enhancing the creamy part of the fragrance, complimenting the Nutty and Sweet notes.
However, I do not find the Patchouli and Cashmeran to be particularly present in the scent, they feel like they enhance the intensity and depth of the fragrance, but I can’t put my nose on them…

It lasts a loooong time on skin and clothes and projects really well in terms of sillage. It’s an elegant masterpiece, I feel like a piece of art when wearing Girl Of Now.

10/10

Monnymonnymonicaaa

I really wanted to like this based on reviews I’d read and watched. I blind bought it and I hate it. I don’t smell any of the notes listed or described- to me, this smells like an old bottle of Chanel No.5 that my grandma had in her bathroom cabinet for over 20 years. Maybe it’s my skin, or maybe I purchased a dodgy bottle. Who knows. Lesson learnt- sample first.

chimidoro

A bit like a LEMPICKA without any licorice.
Doesn't smell anything remotely like marzipan. Y'all trippin....

Thykes10

I can pick up on the mandarin in the opening but there's a sweetness right away. It's lightly overwhelming at first but does settle down after an hour to more moderate projection. It's more of a gourmand take on almond- like a candied almond almost. Not as powdery and cozy as other popular almond scents. There's a warmth to it as well but it's a pretty simple scent profile. It turns into a sweet fluffy skin scent at around the 5 hour mark- like a fluffy vanilla almond. This was cloying when I tried it in warmer weather so I think it's best suited for cooler weather. I think I’d prefer a little something more complex but it’s a nice cozy gourmand.

noneya88

It's basic, warm, cozy, affordable, nutty and sweet. Personally, I like it, and it's one that my husband notices and compliments as well.

spiderleenie

Very basic synthetic almond-vanilla fragrance. To me, this smells cheaper than it actually is. It's completely inoffensive, but once you smell a perfume with almond that's higher quality (such as Dior's Hypnotic Poison), I think that Girl of Now's shortcomings stand out a lot more. I have smelled a lot of Elie Saab fragrances that are so much better than Girl of Now, too.

This perfume's bottle is so lovely, though. If this were a cheap perfume, I'd probably give it a lot more slack and I'd probably even own a bottle because it would look so cute on my vanity.

marid6600

almonds and vanilla... nothing else!
I don't understand those who appreciate this perfume, it smells like vanilla and almond cake. I put my clothes in the air when I smell food, I'm not happy if the smell persists.

neferpitoo

I’ve been looking for a nutty perfume for years to beat my Cheirosa 71, unfortunately this is not it

On me it leans fully floral, with hints of nuts at the beginning but dries down to just flowers after about 15 min, disappointed because it smells like a basic floral designer perfume with a nice statement nutty opening thst I wish lasted more

The performance is just okay, kind of bad, lasts about 6 hours and projects for about 1, but by far not my worst performing perfume

Snugglezzz

I'm dying for a pistachio scent so I wanted to love this one. And it does smell really nice and had amazing staying power. I even showered and woke up the next day and could still smell it on my wrist. It is very very sweet, which I would normally like. But it's lacking something to round out the sweetness. Maybe something spicy or woody? Otherwise it is just a super sweet, juicy, nutty fragrance. If I were 10 years younger, I think it would have been my signature scent. But for now, it's missing that little something extra, ya know? I still might get a bottle for layering just because of the amazing staying power and I think the bottle is cute.

vrinsun

Absolutely not. Sharp, overly sweet and nauseating. Smells like a a regular designer perfume, literally all of them smell the same.
Nothing special about it, and for me it’s an instant nausea, have to scrub it off now.

ANNAFRYS

I would say fregrant for any occassion. I dont understand youtubers who call it sexy; warm and spicy as sX could be scent. To me its safe and pleasant day perfume including safety at the office.

Maria19

I like this a lot. I have wanted this fragrance for a while and bought it. Feminine, warm, sexy. This is not Poison Girl, I have it. PG is like a delicious rum cloud. One of my favorites. This is well blended. The almond is not strong, at least not on my skin. A quality fragrance. If your skin and nose don't like it, can't put the blame on the scent. Elie Saabs perfumes are generally good. The bottle is so beautiful.

cyclone1391

I don't get any pistachio which is a bit disappointing. Very different from the shine flanker on my skin and I prefer this. Lactonic almond which is a bit too much on my skin. This is a cozy cool weather fragrance IMO but for that time of year I prefer others so I don't see this as purchase worthy for myself but I would recommend to younger, more outgoing women, and the bottle is gorgeous and very affordable.

viktorijavla

It's like a sophisticated version of Cheirosa 62.
It's sweet, but in a distinct manner. Cheirosa focuses more on salty caramel, nuts, and vanilla.
Girl of Now starts off very nutty, and then the usual designer white florals become more noticeable as it dries down.

Cherry Bloom

Wow, the reviews are so rough on this one. For me, the perfume has a quality that is unbeatable for the price. But it's not only about a great price; the perfjme itself is sweet, very dense and long lasting. Exactly like Poison Girl but with a nutty touch that makes it more interesting than PG. Quality of the smell is exactly the same. Generic? Maybe but weigh much better than 99% of designer perfumes (LVEB, Black Opium, even Poison Girl). I haven't worn it much because I preffered others last winter but I am for sure going to keep it and wear this for this winter. My plan is to decrease the number of bottles but since for winter I want a rich, dense, sweet perfume, this is the winner for me in this category and i'm getting a bigger bottle. It's a love for me

Ailee

it doesnt smell original~you can smell this similar scent in bath and bodyworks. and nothing ground breaking, you can smell this on your friends and their grandmas. if you like olympea solar...CH good girl, or Sol De Jeneiro Bum Bum Creamc, you will love this one too. note : Im still on a hunt for the perfect ALMOND EDP perfume like the one in Loccitaine (the Amande)

AbbyLaRue

I purchased a sample of this from fragrance.net a while ago I think, and I’m not convinced that I’ve been smelling the same perfume as everyone else. I don’t get any almond from this, vanilla or cashmere, (the almond note was primarily why I purchased a sample) instead I am slapped with a pungent, boozy and floral “grandma” scent. It reminds me of Kat Von D’s sinner, but with the added floral/grandma note. This is not gourmand to my nose by any means, and is definitely not a neutral fragrance.

Nocciola23

When this perfume first came out, years ago, I remember testing it and hating it.
Fast forward 6 years and I'm a convert. All the things I used to hate about it, I love about it now.
It's heavy, it's syrupy, sticky and full of marzipan. It's such a heavy hitter for a designer fragrance!
Sillage and longevity are off the charts, so if you love it - great! if you hate it - not so good.
To me it's a cold weather scent, it's a bit too thick for summer wear.

Norie

It smells like so many on the market but less appealing (to my nose) though the longevity is better for a similar price point. However, within 30min or so the fragrance turns to musk, powder, and an overload of orange blossom and almond. If you enjoy orange blossom and almonds, this is definitely a scent you could try. For me, I unfortunately do not enjoy those in this fragrance and it will be gifted or donated.

I will say that when I tried to wash it off, it stayed. That's a positive note despite not enjoying this fragrance.

Jenbug23

I really love and enjoy this but it was not what I was expecting. I thought this would be a heavily nutty pistachio almond dessert on me but it didn’t turn out that way. My skin amplifies pear so that was what I got. Sweet pear with some extra fruity syrup glacé. Again I love it for what it is, but I’m still on the hunt for a great pistachio fragrance

Egadeniss

At first, i love the opening which bring some fruitiness scent. But after the dry down, in my opinion when the nuts scent appear it bother my nose. i like the swetness but if not with nut scent

OloraGolosina

I tested a sample, which I received with much anticipation due to the buzz around this perfume, what a disappointment, I like sweet fragrances and perfumes with a personality but this is sweet generic and boring, I dont smell any pistachios or almonds, just burnt caramalised brown sugar. I was, many times, close to blind buy it, always test first because perfume reviews are subjective. In my case is a no, unfortunately.

ipuks3

OfTheValley

I don't know why, but even if I love all the listed notes, every time I try this, I end up layering it with poison girl, because I perceive it as an incomplete form of the latter. Weird.

lauraimelda

This perfume is elevated. This is a cold weather sweet fragrance. It is blended well. It smells like other fragrances, but imo this is the best one, because it is not too much of any one thing. It also has a clean vibe which I prefer.

iris.vianzon

With my body chemistry, this smells very much like Viktor & Rolf's Bonbon. 😅

Raven NessRavenous

I am shocked how much I am not enjoying Girl of Now. I have seen zero negative reviews. I love the scent of almonds and pistachios. I ordered my bottle from fragrancenet so it must be legitimate and not counterfeit. All I get on my skin is an out dated powder bomb of patchouli. I was expecting a cozy, sweet, nutty comforting scent.I was expecting something feminine and youthful. Girl of Now is going to sit in the corner and maybe she will come back out when it is winter. But so many people say they wear it year round! I got no pistachio desert that reviewers describe.

nyrvelli

Gourmand and unapologetically sweet. It smells like a winter fairy tale!

Night of April

I bought both Elie Saab Girl of Now and Girl of Now Shine as a 7,5 ml sample each one.
I woould say both of then start in a same way, soft and and orangy.

I am smelling them at the same time so I can compare them the best I can.
I would say, the original one tends to dry more sweet and nutty (with a "clean" touch), whereas the Shine version tends to be even sweeter and fruity.

I love them and they are a win for me. I still have to keep testing them but they are a win for me!

They are the kind of scent that make you happy and you feel better after spraying then on yourself.

grafgr

Girl of now smells like it would made some "top 10 fragrances that make men go crazy" list. I'm against smelling like baked goods, so I usually steer away from most gourmands. I guess this one is the right gourmand for me. So I will go through my 8 ml decant happily, which might last quite a while considering the potency of this fragrance.

A little gem of sweet almonds and orange blossoms. I can see Elie Saab's Lebanese roots here. Here we have a warm perfume, reminiscent of Middle Eastern desserts at their finest: almond paste, sugar and orange blossom, an essential trio. Let's say that in a group of friends composed of Hypnotic Poison, Poison Girl, Black Opium and Good Girl, Girl of Now is the latest addition to the group. She's the youngest, the one who adds a touch of innocence to this rather mature group, but also the sweetest, brightest and softest. That is why she has a gold dress with light green jewels or bright gold aesthetic. The group has similar tastes and interests, grouped around the Tonka bean and the love of warm, opulent, glamorous, sweet, and nutty scents. While these other friends are more seductive, mysterious, assertive, imposing, poised, and more mature, Girl of Now is the much more straightforward and sunnier girl but leans towards the personality of her friends because they are similar. That's why they hang out together!

That's how I would describe this perfume. More in comparison to the family it belongs to. I find it delicious and really easy to wear, with acceptable performance, more compatible with clothes than skin in my case. I smelled it all day tho. However, it gave me the impression that it was more appropriate for winter or cold weather, as it seems to be rich thanks to its sweet and comforting oriental dessert side. If you like the group of friends described above, chances are you'll also like this girl in the group :)

katiesimpsonhair

Lovely sugary syrupy nutty warm Madagascan vanilla custard pudding goodness in a bottle.

Chrisandra

I read that people resemble this to La Rive Fleur de Femme. Nooo. Fleur de Femme is similar to Poison girl. It has peach, cherry, jasmin, neroli, rose, cedar, musk etc.
The only notes that Girl of Now and Fleur de Femme share are almond and tonka beans. The orange note is different: mandarin orange (Girl of Now); bitter orange (Fleur de Femme).
On my skin, Girl of Now has pear as its most prominent note.

Katelynl88

This is super sweet , super syrupy almond extract . That’s about all I’m getting so far. I feel like I’ve been searching for something like this but I’m actually not sure about it yet . Been waiting a long time to try it ! At first , it’s all almond extract , then the orange blossom comes through as a nice fresh white floral and a bit of coconut . I think it’s a great kind of unique scent for summer

Ddwamaitha

I tried to layer this perfume with good girl Carolina Herrera and the combination is just beautiful. Try it out and let me know what you think.

whisperology

In the very beginning I reaaally get Jessica Simpson Fancy vibes, even though they only share a couple of notes.

Eventually this is an almond milk latte with a pistachio pastry. I adore the first few hours of this. It's creamy, nutty, grounded in a sexy patchouli and cashmeran. I really wish the longevity was better on skin, because it shines most on skin vs clothes. I really pick up on the florals on clothes and less of the nuttiness. I get 2-3 hours of nutty goodness and then this fades a lot.

Twentzel

Call me crazy, but it reminds me of Olympéa by Paco Rabanne, it’s dry down 🙃

fantasticoo

Wow, I am so in love with this fragrance! It's like pistachio ice cream with sugar icing on top. The almond is a bit strong at first, but after 30 minutes, the pistachio really shines through. It's sweet and fruity with a touch of vanilla in the base. I only need a little spritz and it lasts all day. People always ask me what I'm wearing when I have it on. This fragrance just makes me feel so happy and uplifted. It was my first blind buy and I couldn't be happier with it!

VFL

I got this as a blind buy off of reviews on here it’s a good perfume not great but okay I would describe this as a warm perfume perfect for everyday wear was however quite disappointed with its sillage it also does not last long at all on my skin can not smell it on myself throughout the day what is weird though is I always smell it as I shower

Allthingssparkle

I got this in a travel spray yesterday. I ended up liking this OG better than the Forever version, even though Forever has raspberry and blackberry listed, which are scents I enjoy! I think the pistachio and almond smell a little cherry-like. Forever is a heavier version of the OG, but the OG has patchouli, which to me helps brighten up the heaviness. The Forever version is as if I'd used half the box of Bounce dryer sheets on one sweater. I can handle the OG better than the Forever version, but I probably would not repurchase any of them. I did not like Shine at all.

Natalieex

I’ve had this in my collection for a good few years now and don’t plan to repurchase it. In fact I’m struggling to finish the bottle which is a surprise because I used to really enjoy this one.

This to me smells incomplete because it’s just too sweet with out anything to balance it out. I much prefer the poison girl line from Dior for that almond gourmand goodness.

itsamarshmallowworld

I added this fragrance to my collection about a year ago after blind buying it. Back then, I felt a bit disappointed, as I didn’t like it very much and thought it smelled a bit like baby wipes. Now, after it’s been sitting in my collection for a year and the perfume has darkened and matured, I like it much more now! Now it’s a warmer, softer, slightly spicier cashmere blanket of a scent, sweetened by almond, pistachio, and tonka bean. It’s really pretty!

Bessthemess

I was surprised by the responses when I asked in a fragrance group whether this was a safe blind buy! Lots of people said it was far too heavy and sweet but I don’t really get that. It is a nice, light pistachio vanilla for me and it actually is very reminiscent of the Pistachio Latte Skinny Syrup I use regularly. Sweet but fresh! The longevity and sillage are decent, it’s not beast mode but I could smell it on myself for about 5 hours. Nobody mentioned the scent so I don’t think protection is strong but since it seems to be a very polarizing scent, that’s probably a good thing!

CarlaN

For some reason I like it better on clothes than on my skin.
On my skin white flowers and patchouli are more dominant, while on clothes I can distinguish the almond milk and pistachio notes clearly.
It's pure sweetness, round and delicious.
It's a cuddle, I feel sleepy and loving when I wear it, expecially if on a sweater.
I can't imagine wearing it during summer, it would be unbearable.
Even in winter I appreciate it much more during night time, it's too intimate for every day errands and/or work imo.
Overall it's not my favourite of all time but it's definitely a no brainer (lasts an infinite amount of time, super pleasing smell, beautiful bottle, acceptable price point ) 🥰♥️

summervanilla

Pretty and sweet and kind of warm. Has a prominent nutty note and smells sort of like almonds and pistachios covered in honey. When it dries down it smells a lot like YSL Black Opium to my nose.

Perfumigator

I really wanted to love this after hearing the reviews so I blind bought. But does anyone else think this smells of Pledge (the furniture polish?!) Will try in different seasons to see if it helps.

Akesuts

To me, the opening is a bit alcoholic and a tad citrusy. But after a minute, it melts into a creamy -sweetness with a tingling touch, given by the pistachio note. If you ever tried pistachio gelato, this perfume smells just like that. I usually wear this when I'm feeling playful, with some colorful clothes. Mostly reach for it when going out on a sunny day but I think it can be worn on a date night too. Good silage. Good performance. Worth buying.

melodyc

I’m more of a floral oriental fragrance wearer. This is my first gourmand fragrance, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. What gave me the urge to blind buy this one, were all the wonderful reviews and the fragrance profile. Almost all of the notes listed are scents that I enjoy.
I must say, at first it was a little more sweet in smell than what I’m used to. It just falls short of drug store sweet perfumes that are more reasonably priced. To be honest, I didn’t like it at first. When first sprayed, there’s this beautiful burst of florals and citrus. After a couple minutes, I get the pear note, then it mellows out to a nutty, milky, pistachio scent. My best way to describe it is a sweet, nutty, milky fragrance. What sold me on this is the lovely wafts of the fragrance that I’m getting while wearing it throughout the day. It smells divine. I did one spray on my neck, and one on my wrist. There is however a hint of artificial smell to it. I wish fragrances could be made with more absolute compounds rather than artificial compounds, especially at this price point. I think it would do so much for these wonderful complex fragrances. Overall, I like it.

Pia20

Amazing almond fragrance. The almond sweetness and creaminess is well captured, sort of like an almond milk. And the dry down of intricate florals is really nice too.

ilydemirel

Meh, i prefered zara femme instead of this. Same dior poison vibe. Also, zara much cheaper than.

Lauren_Loves_Perfume88

This is a beautiful scent but I find it smells near on identical to YSL Libre Intense (which I already have) so it was not anything different.. I find YSL lasts longer too (and has more lavendar) but Elie Saab GoN is a slightly nuttier sweeter version of Libre Intense. Its gorgeous and I will continue to use it, but I wouldn't repurchase if I still have my YSL Libre Intense. The DNA is too alike to have two of the same thing

marlsky

I wanted so much to like this and was really looking forward to sampling it! I love almonds, pistachios, mandarins…. But on me it’s so screechy and overwhelming heavy. I can still smell this after washing my arm 3 times. Can’t seem to escape this smell!!

katierose4260

The perfumes opens up with a burst of nuttiness. The pistachio really comes through. In the drydown, I get creamy almond and some freshness. Good fragrance!

Maiazo

This is SO strange, there must be something wrong with me or my bottle. Blind bought this and i'm disappointed.. Everyone here writes how sweet this perfume is, but i can't smell any sweetness. I cant smell anything at all for the first sprays! then it dries down to powdery tonka, almond with patchouli. Strong patchouli that combined with the poweder makes me associate to someone old wearing it. No creaminess, pistachio, orange or white flowers. I feel like it would really have needed that pear and sweetness thats in the note pyramid to weigh out. Maybe it is because it's quite cold here right now i dont sense it , but i can still smell the accords of my other perfumes so i don't know....

habiba ahmed

sweet perfume but in my opinion the patchouli in it makes it offensive..also it 's super strong perfume

Elfin Will

Yummy! Can we eat a perfume? Because this one smells like very gourmand edible pastry! I love it! The almond note (bitter almond) and honeyed orange blossom will be present from the beginning to the drying, and the touch of pistachio distinguishes this scent from all the other gourmand perfumes I have ever tested. We also well perceive the warm roasted tonka bean as well as the cashmeran in the background. For a gourmand perfume, without for once adding vanilla, this is a winner!

SELFCARE_INTROVERT

Fruity, Nutty and Syrupy! I really Love this; it makes me feel really happy wearing it. It’s Sweet Sexy and definitely worth a Purchase! Great for Fall-Winter and Bed.

CatOwned

I really enjoy the initial smell, but in the dry down there is something very gross and artificial to me. I am glad I only got the mini. I will test it out some more and see if my opinion changes.

Adjr1087

Still my most complimented fragrance yet. Men LOVE this. I have been stopped a couple of times by both men and women to ask what I'm wearing. This is sweet and very almondy. I sometimes layer this with Rolling in Love by Kilian and it is just PERFECT.

PerfumeJOJO

Okay, this is a good one, extremely good, gourmandy fragrance, it smells like "crème d'amande" very almondy the pistachio is detectable in the opening, if you want a 24h longlasting, creamy, sexy, sweet perfume, get this one!!! Men love it, I ve gotten compliments wearing it, I'd advise you to have a light hand with it as it's a beast mode and could turn headache inducing if you spray it heavily, 2 sprays are more than enough...PS: get a 50ml as you will never finish the whole bottle.

Sammbac

Disappointed. Had heard such good reviews but there was a sharp hit in the opening which reminded me of Angel. Angel was a favourite of mine in the 90s but my nose must have changed because I no longer care for the honey note. What is weird is that this has no honey! I enjoyed the pistachio, I wish it was stronger, In the drydown on paper the pear was very reminiscent of a lighter La Belle. I honestly did not want to leave it long enough upon my skin to be able to compare with the test strip. The rest, all I got was some blah florals. Shame. Lots of YouTubers have bigged it up. It's a really pretty bottle with the turquoise enamel design. Average contents.

SLY xoxo

Yummy pistachio gourmand fragrance!! I feel like in Italy eating pasta in Roma with my Louis Vuitton outfit lolll! Its really delicious and longevity is great

I love sweet scents and this one is a must! And No it doesnt smell like Jpg Scandal but both are great

Laralaritaaa

What a delicious and gourmand fragrance. On me, the pistachio note is so realistic. I wish the pistachio moment lasted a bit longer but it turns to caramelized almonds real quick. This is much less dense that I imagined. For me, that's a plus. Feels really versatile to my nose. Also, it doesn't smell like poison girl (thankfully). I might add this one to my collection.

Ececanga

Has anyone tried layering/mixing this with the Shine flanker?

minizelda

yummyyy 🌰✨🍊

takema

Girl of Now is such an easy to love fragrance, but only if you enjoy sweet gourmands. This one is very sweet. I find it hits that sweet spot just before a fragrance gets cloying or obnoxious. Even though most of the dominant notes are pretty sweet, there is balance.

The opening is sweet and fluffy orange blossom with fresh, juicy pear and orange to brighten it up. As it settles on the skin I start to notice the nuttiness. For me it's a general nutty smell. I don't really smell either the pistachio or almond distinctively. Once it fully dries down I start to notice the patchouli. The patchouli is very sweet and syrupy, no dirty patchouli here, adding a lot of the heavy, dense sweetness of the fragrance. All the notes togeather give it a bit of a floral-infused dulce de leche vibe.

Girl of now is youthful, fun and very feminine. It's flirty and playful, very suitable to a young (or young at heart) woman. There is nothing serious or stuffy about this fragrace. It's perfect as a casual day-to-day fragrance. I tend to wear this most in a fall and winter. The syrpuy patchouli present here often gets too heavy and cloying in the hot, humid summers where I live.

I really love this fragrance so I wish the projection was a little stronger, for longer. For the first couple of hours the projection is quite good, reaching at least arms length. Unfortunately it settles and stays pretty close to the body in 2-3 hours. The longevity is solid though. It easily lasts 8-10 hours on skin and forever on clothes. It's a fragrance I love to smell on my scarf in the winter. It's so warm, sweet and cozy.

The bottle is one of my favourite bottle designs. It matches the fragrance quite well, carrying the same beautiful, ultra-feminine, playful vibe. It feels very well made and is ornately beautiful, without going over the top. It doesn't hurt that the shade of blue on the enameled petals is one of my favourites. The glass is thick and heavy and the cap is solid and fits very well.

The retail price is fair and it can often be found at dicounters for a great price. I have used about a third if my current bottle and will replace it once I finish it. I was a little worried it was being discontinued a couple years ago when the flankers were all showing up on clearance racks. but a new flanker last year and one of my local retailers finally carrying it gives me hope it will still be around for a while.

Morgan45

Lovely, warm, sweet, milky vanilla-almond with a splash of white florals. Comforting and soft, more cozy than sexy. I feel this is mostly a daytime scent. It would be perfect for a coffee date, lunch out with friends or a family holiday gathering. It smells like hugs and laughs and familiarity. Nice. Non-threatening.
One caveat: This one, smells best on my SKIN ONLY. If I spray it on my clothes, it turns into a baby-powdery bag of Pampers smell after a while. But if I let it dry on my skin and THEN get dressed, it's all the good things. So weird.

daisydoodie

I really love this perfume I feel so warm and pretty wearing it in the autumn/winter and it has great longevity and sillage. Its nutty with a really nice cashmeran base which I don’t usually love but it’s really nice in here. :)

tourtoseas

Has a same vibe like Dolce Gabbana The Only One. Like it!

Gigi7891

My nose must be broken. I don’t smell any almond. When I hear almond I want to smell what a bottle of almond extract smells like when you open it. This is not that or even close to that. I would never in a million years guess this had an almond accord. Very generic sweet fruity slightly floral scent. There’s not a hint of orange blossom or patchouli either. I have pure perfume of orange blossom this doesn’t exist in girl of now. Maybe the perfumer used these in the formulation but they are not present to my nose. On paper it’s nothing I would even want to try but since I already have a bottle I feel obligated to try it on my skin. There is no pistachio in this either. It almost smells like a cheap celebrity perfume (don’t get me wrong I am a fan of Britney fragrance) I only smell fruit and a little floral. Very disappointed again because I cannot find a true almond fragrance except the opening of lost cherry. (Last ten seconds)

Youlerie

I really liked the fruity top note at first, but unfortunately it became too plastic-sweet and synthetic from the middle note onwards. Too bad.

Shahrzaad

Beautiful sweet almond milk scent. Extremely comforting. Nothing about this scent bothers me. I will use up my sample and get a full bottle of this as soon as I can.

heidihelena

Sweet perfume with anis note first hour similar to Mon Guerlain. Dry down is more rounded, almond note is quite mature and elegant. I do get Armani Terra di Gioia association too. My teenaged girl does not use this, too mature for her. Body lotion is runny suited for summertime but scent is for fall and winter. Good pleasing scent 6/10, good price, last all day. It is just like not love. Body lotion 4/10.

Catmo

Really nice, easily liked fragrance. Very similar to Armani Terra di Gioia which I also really enjoy.

Halcyon0409

I love this gorgeous perfume so much with all of my heart. It is my signature scent and it is absolute perfection.

This perfume has the same DNA of the mass appealing perfumes like Good Girl, Black Opium, La Belle and Poison Girl, especially the first two. However, Girl of Now is anything but generic and it manages to be super unique because of its wonderful pistachio and almond notes.

And these nutty notes are blended with florals, fruits, and creamy vanilla from the almond milk and tonka bean, and this creates the most exquisite effect. People will love it but you definitely will not smell like everyone else in the room, which is the perfect outcome of course.

I hate perfumes that are excessively sweet because I find them very nauseating, but this scent is simply a beautiful gourmand that is never cloying or overbearing and is so easy to wear. This perfume is sweet but has the perfect balance of sweetness because it is so warm and well-rounded because of the pistachio and almond. This perfume smells like Indian nutty desserts, like pistachio or almond burfi or kulfi. For those less accustomed to Indian desserts, think pistachio gelato or macarons.

Wearing this perfume is genuinely so enjoyable and nothing makes me more happy than getting whiffs of it through out the day, though to be honest, I find it difficult to stop sniffing my wrists all day long too.

Because of the sweetness, in combination with the nuttiness and creaminess, the perfume is sexy, intoxicating, and edible, but also very elegant, wholesome and cozy.

Overall, just perfect.

MomGodess

I gave full point positive review. But here is the deal:
It is intoxicating and repelling at the same time. You know Good Girl, Poison Girl, Black Opium, LVEB & the flankers, you know Girl of Now. Almost the same as La Belle JPG.

However, this has some warmth and not just "I am sexy, please notice me!". My husband hates all of the above and adores this one.

Kids come to me for a second hug when I am wearing it. In the bottle my hubby thought that it is Cloud from Ariana Grande, but on my skin everyone is going crazy for this one. Cloud gets a "nice" comment. This one makes everyone obsessed.

Never experienced this.

First when I tested I didn't want to buy, but the drydown was magic so I had to invest in a small bottle.

It sticks on skin, clothes, hair. However and here is the "but": soooo boring at times. We will never part because everyone loves it and compliment on it and I am a social being. But for sure this one I will wear for the crowd not for my own pleasure.

Notes: pistachio, tonka, tonka, tonka, still tonka and orange flowers. I more suspect than really feel amber in it. It has a strong musky undertone that aparently works the trick. At least on my own skin.

Do I love it? I certainly do love the effect.

Algee

There is nothing complicated here, the whole line is different but individually special. Here the almond & pistachio are the stars. If I had to picture it, the perfume notes make me feel like I'm inside a sticky Italian Pignoli cookie covered in powdered white sugar. The name to me is all wrong. There is nothing girly about this except that it's sweet. This is a warm amber colored honey nutty amaretto fragrance that's very well blended & the bottle looks amazing

Finka227

Good as a layering perfume, very light and lovely.

MissKat

I blind bought GON this summer and was really dissapointed at first. I thought it was plasticky, juvenile, way to sweet, and way to heavy on the pistachio.

But! Now that its cold I absolutely adore it. The sweetness is addictive and inviting. The pistachio is prominent enough to make it interesting, but not so strong that it smells like pistachio icecream. It’s fun and flirty and i’ve gotten a tonne of compliments on it.

It makes me feel like that girl with the contagious laughter, who always has really clean and shiny hair. Her presence lights up the room and puts everyone in a better mood.

lauravladelena

I've kept hearing this smells like pastries and something you'd eat but I don't think that at all. It smells sweet but a dark sweet, mostly vanilla& patchouli with a very very faint hint of pistachio. This isn't a girl coming out of a bakery with a vanilla croissant. This to me smells like the absolute woman scent and its definitely a representation of how the average man thinks a really attractive woman smells. I like it compared to most perfumes but it does smell really generic like I said "sexy woman", there's a lot of perfumes very similar to it

rachel19971

Absolutely beautiful, orange blossom and pistachio is mostly what I get and I am not mad about it.

fnatha2

love this scent just wished it lasted longer and projected more

AmakeNyasha

On my left i have Jimmy Choo Illicit and right i have Elie Saab Girl On Now and i can confirm the two smells identical.
Beautiful scent i feel like licking my hands. The notes of the two are different but somehow it smells the same.i love them all. I got elie saab today and i smelt it and felt the deja vu feeling until i figured out that it smells like illicit.

amanda0727

A great all season scent! I get mostly sweet pear and orange blossom notes on my skin. I do smell the nutty notes but mostly in the opening. Very subtle, well blended perfume for the price. Safe for office environment IMO.

Update: The patchouli bothers me too much in the drydown. Decluttered.

P_a_p_e_rcuts

This is truly divine! I have Burberry Brit, and I deeply love the dry down of that with the creamy almond, and wanted to branch into other almond scents. This is delicious! Immediately I get pistachio and almond, and on the dry down for me it’s warm, creamy almond and tonka bean. It’s cozy, it’s creamy. For me projection is meh, and lasting time is on me about 4hrs, but it is so yummy I don’t mind reapplying. I don’t get any of the citrus and the floral is light. I will definitely be getting a full bottle.

upertiwi

this smells like twizzlers (licorice candy) on my skin. not my cup of tea. thankfully only got the sample for this.

yiola.al

Blind bought this for an everyday perfume and thats what it is.Not special at all. I agree with AGRITE below that is nutty and orange blossom prominent.A sweetness stays on the skin 4-5 hours later from the tonka I guess. I wear this at work cause it is not imposing/insulting.Never got a compliment for this and I people usually comment positively on my scents.

RetroPickle

So disappointed ! Thank God I only got a travel size atomizer from fragrancenet. Idk how people can compare this to the Bum Bum Cream smell. I swear this smells like plastic licorice and syrup!! So gross. Hurt my head instantly.

schnocampy

Admittedly, I blind bought this on a whim based on reviews. I purchased this in the spring and immediately disliked it. I found it synthetic, cloying and headache inducing, even as a gourmand lover. I set it aside and waited until mid-November to give it another go. Now I can finally appreciate the beauty of this fragrance. Due to its sweetness and density, this is strictly a winter perfume in my opinion. It would be great for the holidays.

Peaches&Cream

Finally got my hands on Girl of Now and I must say that this is a warm and cozy scent for fall & winter. I got the almond, orange blossom, cashmeran and tonka bean..this is a strong perfume but not too strong that you only spray 1-2 . It lasts up to 8 hours on clothes and skin.

caydesugar

I don’t know why but my nose only loves this in summer. I could not use this during winter - it smelled different to me, although most people would say this is more of a cozy winter scent!

PetyaK

One of my most complimented perfumes and I have way cheaper … it just does it!! I sometimes layer it with Kayali vanilla 28 or BDK Velvet Tonka for extra boujieeee

unicajiha_01

Nice comforting scent.

Rosesbyrae

Smells beautiful but for me has little to no staying power. After 10 mins I can’t smell it any more which is a waste of money for me personally, but maybe it would have more longevity if I layered it.

Ececanga

I already did an extensive review earlier about GON but I wanted to add more: Wore this to office (2.5 sprays only) and every single person in the room was trying to figure out why it was smelling like biscuits.

PS: I have the 2017 batch with the dark juice.

Pinkfloyde:)

I love raving about this fragrance.
The pistachio is perfectly prominent along with a syrupy, warm sweetness. I’ve been a nut-note lover through and through, and this one hasn’t disappointed me since I first smelt it.
Initially, the smell was a tad plastic-esque, on the brink of being overbearing. Put it away and didn’t reach for it since I thought it were a waste of time.
After contemplating, I gave it another chance- and it smelt completely different. Instead of the aforementioned plastic, it was a weirdly rich, warm vanilla kindled with some pistachio. Safe to say I was pleased, but I understand how it can be a bit much for other folk.
This one doesn’t last horribly on my skin. I’d say it’s a decent 5-7 hours before it fades. The silage isn’t anything exciting, though I do wish it were a more in-your-face type of scent. I find that it mainly spreads arms-length.
Safe blind buy? Probably. If your unsure, I’d suggest a little 1ml - 7.5ml sample to try it out.

BougieGirlShops

This is a nice scent, the pretty bottle is what first got my attention. I love nutty notes, and when I saw pistachio I had to have it. I definitely get the nutty vibe, but the fruit takes prominence for me which is unfortunate. I'm not a fan of pear forward scents, I find it too watery fresh and sweet. The woody note is also a little too sharp for my taste, almost a peppery note. I'm sure I can save with layering, perhaps with something oak mossy.

Janeyre

I love it. It smells like pistachio ice cream to me in the beginning then morphs into a lightly spiced dessert scent within an hour or so; (I don't know where the gentle spice scent I'm getting is coming from though.)
It's nutty and sweet and creamy and warm. Longevity and sillage are not great on me- after a couple of hours it turns into a skin scent.

Twentzel

Nauseating, gives me headache 😣

medusaodalisque

it really does smell like a syrupy, nutty dessert. very warm and thick, so better for cooler weather. i've received some compliments on this one and its obvious why- sweet and crowd-pleasing, with pretty intense sillage and longevity.

however! a warning not to overspray. my first time using it i sprayed 6 sprays on myself and immediately felt super nauseous and sick, it became almost liquorice-like. 3 sprays max for this one

tashfi70

Finally!!!! bought a tester years ago, and after contemplating for a year I bought one for myself T_T I fucking love this perfume!! makes me feel like I'm an angel roaming inside heaven T_T I love this perfume, for sure it is a part of me now T_T

Rozalina

In order to get the most out of this fragrance, you need to wear it when there’s a chill in the air. It’s still a nice, sweet gourmand in the heat (smells overly sweet in the heat, honestly) but the nutty sticky goodness shines —and lasts longer, in cold weather!

agnite

I agree it's quite nutty, but for me it gives orange blossom the most. Really nice blended. Everyday fragrance. Good quality and good price 👏

yeesa_

its too perfumey sweet and gave me a headache... I was hoping to love this given all the reviews but its not gourmand to me

Angel2Animals

I get absolutely none of the sweet gourmand notes. I wore this to work today and all I smell is my most hated note - patchouli. This is a scrubber for me. If you don’t like patchouli, this is not a safe blind buy.

AuthenticAF

On my skin it smells very weird. I like it on other people, just doesn't work for me.
Gave it to daughter

mimircks

GIRL OF NOW is 5 years old?! Well, late as I may be, it's an INSTANT love for me. Honestly, the name was a big turnoff for me because I thought it would be rather "young." I'm 58 & I find it enchantingly mature. I won't wax poetic on all my favoritenotesrolledintoone - and it WORKS! - but GON can be either brunch or an intimate date night. Now, the sillage I'm not really clear about because no one is home to provide feedback, but the opening burst of buttery pistachios & pear is going to knock SOMEONE out...in a good way! The dry down is ambery almonds & that's what I'm here for! Right on time for my latest fall discovery! Quite a sensual ride.

Gretaaaa

Loved it, but finished the bottle and would not repurchase. Its on my alley, however a lot of sweet and warm scents are. It wasn't something special, felt like were are a lot of similar and better scents. The packaging is very beautiful, but be careful and store it properly, because in my bottle fluid changed the color and smell was a bit more alcoholic after having it for about a year.

CRiche

This has to be my favorite gourmand. It’s nutty, creamy, cozy and delicious. It reminds me of Frangelico liqueur.

BBerlin

I was disappointed. I like it enough to keep it; but this wouldn't even be in my top 20.

Too sweet. I love almond, I love pistachio. I love patchouli. Peared with the "only one" it's not bad. I had several people tell me they didn't like it and the only other one people didn't like that commented, was Angel. I will still wear Angel, though.

I guess I like more spicy, woody, oriental, fruity and aquatic type fragrances. Not enough spice, but it is a gourmand. I'll keep it for now. I will not repurchase and I would exchange it with someone for something thats more suitable for me i.e. Coco, coco, Mademoiselle, Chance, Zen, Narciso Rodriguez Rose Musc Noir, etc.

It's definitely a mature fragrance and does smell expensive and even classy. Just not for me. My favorite gourmand is probably "Love don't be shy". Just love that marshmallow. ❤️

catdealy

i have the deodorant parfum spray but i assume it smells the exact same? smells soo creamy and nutty though 😮💨 oh my delish

amg7613

It’s a delectable pistachio almond boozy patchouli mix and I’m here for it. Cue in magnolia, my new favorite white flower. It blends into perfumes so well, and this one is no exception. Like nothing I’ve ever smelled before. I’ve been in a linear fragrance hump, and I’m getting enveloping. Blossoming. Transforming.

miss_aly

This was a blind buy for me, and I'm SO GLAD that I got this! Smells so yummy... Perfect everyday gourmand for fall through spring. That nuttiness mixed with the soft creaminess really makes this a no-brainer! Not sure how other people find this heavy or cloying. I mean it's definitely a gourmand but I still find this to be more of a daytime/soft warm scent. It lasts pretty decent (becomes a skin scent at the 4-5 hour mark). Projection is just average.

I can't get why people call it very thick or nauseating. My story with Girl of now started many years ago. While testing so many perfumes in the duty free, trying to find something interesting before I catch my flight, it was the one I decided to spray my skin with. No regrets, yes it was winter and yes I still remember the airport's stuff face while checking my boarding pass.

My taste in perfumes back then wasn't that stable, I used to be impressed from such strong gourmand types and at the same time be addicted to skin scents like Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. The only sure thing was and is that almond is my thing. Poison Girl (it feels painful to write this) 'was' (discontinued now) my signature like all of my favorite perfumes are at the moment. The same stands for Armani Code Cashmere (almond milk note) since was from the very first standard perfumes to introduce this specific note to the crowds. I see why so many people find it similar to Poison Girl and OMG, now that I see that Scandal by night (discontinued again) I totally agree although there's no tuberose or honey in the composition.

I will be honest, it's a strong perfume. It starts by promising to be unique but as time passes it becomes more linear, not bad though. Actually, I just can't stop thinking how similar to Scandal by night is so we could say that Jean Paul Gaultier copied Elie Saab? In a few words, Girl of now was representing the madness of gourmands that was the absolute trend. It opens a bit loud, amaretto touches tease your nose and a nice green nuttiness probably from the pistachio that I personally love. Very fast a play-doh vibe arrives, this is why Poison Girl comes in mind but here no bitter orange, just whispers of feminine orange blossom. If I could describe it in 3 words, these would be nutty-woody-sweet. Tonka bean is absolutely present to give some depth and patchouli (a note I love) that is quite risky to be combined but otherwise it would be a 'Pink Sugar' flanker (from Aqualina) if you get my point while now all ages can appreciate. Is it a good perfume, yes! Did I need it? Yes, winter is near and I need a warm hug. Can you wear it all year round? During summer the greenness of pistachio could be intriguing, just don't overspray. I will end with how beautiful the bottle is. Maybe it was the first thing that attracted me, love at first sign, you know. Deserves a try!
--------------------
What you should be careful with and obviously here is where bad reviews are coming from: The bottle doesn't protect that much the perfume. Normally the juice is quite yellowish. If you buy it or open your box and it's already a bit orange and not that bright, it means that it ages and it goes straight or faster to the base notes. This could be a bit harsh but at the same time a perfume that turns darker is equal to quality and the extract of tonka/vanilla. The pistachio/nutty almond/magnolia/tonka can transform to a headache of a strange synthetic outdated sweetness where patchouli and almond cannot be a happy couple.

I enjoy this perfume better when I layer it with anything airy. Getting whiffs of it so lovely. When I wear it alone it tends to become abit too heavy for my liking.
Update
I can't stand this anymore. It smells like cooking oil to my nose. Gifted it to a friend who is crazy about it!

bintTapputi

This is a really nice surprise for me. Lovely and warm. Like another review said, "sweet fragrance of YSL Black Opium type" I think this is very accurate, and may be why I really enjoyed it. Creamy, nutty, a little spicy, Bakery-esque. Amaretto, boozy, comforting and lovely. Need a bottle ASAP 8.5-9/10

Zoe22

Beautiful bottle. Not something I would've chosen for myself and I didn't expect to love it but I disliked this even more than I thought I would. Way too loud and cloying. Overwhelmingly thick and perfumy. Gave me a headache and made me feel a bit sick. Smells a bit like marzipan. I am sensitive to these kinds of scents and prefer something lighter, may work for others. It is strong and lasts a long time.

Laoire

This reminds me of two other perfumes that I have been wearing recently, Bronze Goddess edp and Black Opium. I sprayed all three on my skin, one on each wrist and the the other on my elbow and I can barely tell them apart. I love them all though!

frostedblossom3

i immediately pick up juicy mandarin manhattans made w/ bourbon & magnolia. as it first dries, i get a sweet juicy refreshing cantaloupe/honeydew note. next there’s a subtle & almost bergamot-y & mildly pine way about it. likely because of the magnolia note & the subtle fruity overtone layering with the patchouli’s herbal & medicinal qualities.
as it continues to develop i get a distinct whiff of fruity red cocoa that gradually eases into creamy tonka, cashmeran, vanilla crème brûlée, & pistachio gelato in a warm waffle cone. this fragrance wraps you up in its caramelized golden warmth. it’s steamed milk with vanilla & nutmeg sipped from a gilded marble chalice. it’s honey dipped cinnamon & sweet skin. it’s sun pouring through windows & light sporadic raindrops as you spend the day curled up in the duvet reading an aged & resinous book with your lover. fresh, smooth cotton linens & a soft chunky knit throw freshly warmed by the dryer. i definitely get the comparison to brazilian crush, it’s like an elevated & more complex cousin of it. love, love, love! i get so many compliments whenever i use this & i absolutely adore how it wears. if the bottle tasted like it smells after a few hours of wear, i would have guzzled the entire thing by now. ⭐️

livelovelaugh0810

Unpopular opinion but i didnt get the cookies and baked good scent everyone got.

To me, i smelled a very thick and headache inducing, very potent perfume scent in the drydown that happened to come up very quickly for me.

I guess I don’t hv the best experience with ellie saab perfumes in this way but it reminds me of very heavy on patchouli with too much orange blossom and jasmine type of profiles I get from jpg perfumes.

Overwhelming patchouli which I cant tolerate most times and an overdose of slightly nauseating and heavily sweet orange blossoms. Reminds me of way too potent designer perfumes that tend to be marketed as “intoxicating”.

I do get that slight pistachio nuttiness on initial spray but its very interestingly blended that i find myself questioning what is this. This is definitely a nut but what type of nut what is going on.

And then boom drydown and i cry.

Wish i got what everyone raves about.

Kinga_

I thought I was going to love it as I adore everything pistachio or almond-flavored. Sadly, the perfume smells cheap... It's a very generic, sweet fragrance of YSL Black Opium type. With a cheap synthetic pistachio note, that smells just like the one used in Demeter's Pistachio Ice Cream.
In general, overhyped.

OTA Mom

Nauseating and overwhelming typical mainstream department beauty store fragrance. No subtlety here, it screams you're on the way a block in advance. I sensed almond briefly before it got swallowed up by the patchoulli black hole.

MimesOtto

I love this one! delicious sweet orange blossom nutty goodness...good lasting power, perfect for fall and winter seasons

RocCity3

I was letdown by this one which is so unfortunate because I waited a long time to add it to my collection. As I'm switching things up in prep for fall, I decided to buy this since it's so popular on lists for cold-weather gourmands. I smell nutty flowers, not the edible, delectable scent that so many described. It's not horrible, but definitely didn't live up to the hype. It's also a tad mature, but hopefully with layering I can sweeten it up to create that cozy scent we love in colder seasons.

briteny

this perfume is THICK. i thought it would smell like a nutty gourmand, but all i got was a really powdery, synthetic sweet tonka bomb. it's very heavy and also smells kind of mature.

Tavetik

I hate it! Blind bought it because of the amazing reviews but to me it is a revolting patchouli mess. The patchouli is overpowering everything else and it smells like patchouli mixed with every other boring designer perfume :( so disappointed, I love the bottle but the juice is blah.

Hypnotic Flower

Major disappointment. I don't get the comparison with Brazilian Crush at all, I mainly wear gourmands but this is so cloying and nauseating. Smells like La Vie Est Belle to my nose which I hate. On me, I mainly smell the Patchouli note mixed with something sweet. No almonds, no pistachio, nothing. Such a shame because it's long lasting and strong but it's a pass for me.

gurle94

I swear it’s black opium without the coffee. More daytime appropriate than that. Nothing like baklava to me. A bit cloying, definitely save it for cold weather

AllisonNW

This smells like a play-dohey My Way. It’s pretty but just not what I was expecting.

Kanutten

I couldn't make up my mind whether I really liked it or had wasted my money. I've had it for some years, because I only gravitate towards it a few days a month. Accident? Probably not. - Hormones and skin chemistry changes seems very much to be at play. Most of the time it's way to sweet (and juvenile) and wearing it is not an option unless I want to choke myself in sweetness. And then some days I get that lovely AMARETTO, without it being too sweet.
I love, like and dislike it. Depends...

zephyr14

This perfume is absolutely beautiful. It makes me feel beautiful and girly. Guess the name just fits . The Almond note really does it for me.

leenee

gorgeous creamy, sweet, nutty goodness
definitely stay away from this if you’re not into super sweet perfumes, and probably during the summer months
but I can see myself wearing this a lot in the fall and winter and I can’t wait! (I’m still wearing it in the summer but only at home with the AC on lol)

Update: this has quickly become my absolute favorite, I can’t stop wearing it all the time because it’s just so beautiful and delicious!
plus it gets extra points for being the only perfume I own that my mom actually likes lol

dancinginrain

as the name suggests it's a very girly scent <3 super super sweet and creamy, although it dries down to a fruity almond-vanilla scent it kinda smells like cough syrup when you first spray it..? as an avid sweet scent lover this one feels a little too much to be an everyday scent but it's great to wear when you're in the mood

Carolinefragrance

Glorious almond pistachio. Love at first sniff. Unlike any other perfume I have smelled. You have to like sweet perfumes to enjoy this. Signature scent/all age worthy with good longevity but fairly intimate sillage after initial glorious blast. Back up bottle worthy.

Jasmine Joy

Ordered this perfume and I am very intrigued by it. The notes all look attractive to me since I really love sweet and gourmand scents. Will post a more detailed review once I get it.

***Update*** I love this perfume! The notes I mainly smell are pear and almond milk. I thought there was vanilla in this perfume but there isn't any. It is very strong and should only be worn in the colder months. Definitely a successful blind buy. Looking forward to wearing it in the winter.

Morticiaaadddams

Synthetic, sweet, ALMOND.

Eau de car air freshner (to me.)

Tinabill

Warm almond cookies 🍪 right out of the oven!
Those cookies have a good dose of vanilla and some pistachios on top served with almond milk 🥛. LOVELY.
GoN opens with a glorious almond smell, intensely sweet and vanillic but I don’t find it cloying, given I use 3-4 sprays only (a third of my usual) and use it mainly in autumn and winter, as it can be overwhelming in warmer weather.
The orange blossom lends airiness to the heart, by which time, the sweetness has been toned down a notch and more creamy aspects start to appear. Tonka and patchouli provide some depth to the base, but almond remains the protagonist all through.
A gourmand and almond aficionados’ dream 💕

Jezeleah

I wore this on and off for a few months, then realized that I wasn't enjoying the experience. It is too sweet for me, -and I like sweet fragrances. I suppose I have a limit. The notes are great, it really is a lovely fragrance, but you have to love it's cloyingly sweet nature. I sold my bottle.

June venus

I bought it on trust, for the famous "noses" creators Ropion-Labbe '. From the pyramid I thought it was sweet but I did not imagine it would become so cloying, this perfume on me does not evolve, you do not feel the flowers or the freshness of the mandarin, you only feel a flow of almond. Too much for me.
I gave it to my daughter and with her pH and her fresh, young skin it fits her perfectly

seliko

this smells like a hazelnut flavored starbucks drink i once had. my skin can’t do nutty notes that well, so while i really liked it on paper, feminine, and sweet, impression of a woman wearing crystals and gold as jewelry, on me it got cloying and felt like tasting the drink, which was unpleasant, too nutty with a bad aftertaste.

strawberrystar

I love this! It is so so sweet, but not too much, surprisingly. I was expecting a sickeningly sweet scent after reading the comments, particularly one comparing the scent to Amaretto. I love Amaretto as a drink, but it really has a sickeningly sweet scent. I was not sure I wanted to smell exactly like that. Anyway the almondy sweetness is just right to me, I do smell it but it is not overpowering. I do smell pear also. The dry down is somewhat similar to that of Poison Girl, I love it.

0phelia

I don't know why but this smells like sweet (caramel-berry sweet) yoghurt to me. It's very creamy, milky and somewhat heavy. Could it be because the fruity top notes mixed with the almond milk, tonka bean and cashmeran in the base notes? I don't love it but I don't dislike it either.

Izzyabutt

I love this perfume to me it smells like a almond cookie just from the bakery, but in a soft way. This perfume makes me happy and settled in relax way. Nothing crazy about this perfume just comforting like walking into your moms home after she’s been baking all day. My husband also likes this perfume.

Jaccccc___

Found my bottle early in the morning and sprayed thinking I loved it… later in the day I was thinking ahhh what’s that smell I can smell Britney Spears fantasy or something …. And it was def the girl of now it lasted all day and couldn’t get rid of it… bit too over powering and synthetic

SSAP

Nice almond. The first opening is same as Tardes by Carner Barcelona. Dry down is different though. Amaretto. Nice enough, but I prefer the complexity of Tardes. I think this is more appropriate for warmer weather, whereas Tardes is for all year round. Will use it up, regardless.

GabrielleF

Basing on the ingredients listed I was expecting a delicate, sweet, elegant almond-centred perfume. unfortunately there's no almond here! it's just a strong, synthetic, cheap perfume imo. Very loud and screechy like all other Elie Saab perfumes which I just can't stand

Ugonma

I love this perfume, but the absolute star for me is the dry down. At first spray, I was a little disappointed, and then it gradually grew on me and I began to love the way I smelled, little by little.

perfumelover03

For me this perfume smells better further away, when you catch whiffs of it in the air. Up close sometimes I get a slight bitter smell, especially soon after I spray it. The way it smells in the air in cool weather is really pretty though. This is not suited for warm weather at all imo.

Kotikina

It smells of several things at the same time:

-Amaretto with orange liqueur
-Pistachio ice cream with amaretto
-Pistachio macaroon

I can smell the pistachio in here, but predominantly very boozy almonds and orange. Love it.

Mary.am1

I have a sample of this perfume
I was excited to try it after reading great reviews on this site
When I first spray it .. The initial smell is like toasted delicious almonds with syrup on top and some woody vanilla-e notes.. very suitable for cold winter days..
After few minutes unfortunately on my skin it statred to smell like Iodine or something similar, a chemical gone bad smell!! I have no idea why this happend but that was so not pleasant..
I never experienced this to any other perfume .. It is strange and made me sad because I liked this perfume first
I think it’s the tonka beans note? I have no Idea but i’m disappointed with this one 😅

Stoned.Zombie.Cat

I really liked This & Girl of Now: Forever. But I think I like this one more, I really like Almond scents and this is very almondy. Its beautiful but I think I need to save it for the colder weather

jlh12

I was searching for a gourmand that would remind me of my favorite almond cookies. However, I wanted something that smelled like a "fragrance" and a little more interesting than just a straight-up cookie. I am pleased to announce, Girl of Now did not disappoint!

This is a sweet and heavenly scent with a little bit of bite, perhaps from the citrus. It also has a somewhat dry and crisp edge... and a slight powderiness without being overly so. Still, I get velvety and nutty vanilla predominantly. It is a cozy and good-natured scent that really shines in cold weather, great for every day. Although pretty, it doesn't try too hard... GON lasts all day and leaves a nice trail that most people will notice and enjoy.

MaxieF

I love this. It smells sweet out the bottle but once it's on the skin it smells like burnt pistachio and almonds. It's the only fragrance I've ever smelled that smells "burnt" without smelling like smoke or a campfire. It's really unique. You get that orange Blossom a lot but its really grounded with the almond. It's beautiful. It's really not synthetic at all. In my opinion it's one fragrance that I believe does a really super realistic pistachio. Note that this is very very mature and perfumey. If you dont like "perfumey" scents, you will not like this. This fragrance is for someone that wants to smell like a grown ass woman.

This fragrance has tons of fakes floating around and most people don't even know they have a fake. You can't trust fragrancex 100% of the time. They sold me many real bottles until I got a fake Gucci rush and I couldn't believe it because I had come to trust them after so many successful buys. Just make sure your bottle of girl of now has the logo carved into the lid and the sprayer. Not sure if they reformulated and changed the bottle but I see the bottles without the logo selling all the time and just to be safe I'd look for the logo. At least you know you're getting the original.

Sand1984918

Sugary and gourmand scent. I fell in love. Flankers are very different yet smells delicious. However my favorite is the original one … pistachios are prominent and beautiful

Rondoflaca

Too synthetic smelling for my taste.
