I bought this many years ago and loved it but since then, I’ve become a lot more sensitive to certain smells and now it’s a bit off-putting. On me, it’s fresh and citrusy, but there’s also some very sharp scent that makes me cringe. But maybe the product has just gotten old! Reminds me a lot of Victoria’s Secret’s Bombshell Escape.

FragranceLover2021

I love this one! Can't wait to wear it in the summer! Whenever I wear it, it gives me holiday vibes as if I'm in a hot tropical country drinking pina coladas. So sad it's discontinued! Wish I had brought a bigger bottle! Unfortunately the longevity isn't the best on me but still love it!

parfumlerhayatimolmus

Born in Paradise... to me, it really gives off the vibes of it's name. Whenever i wear this fragrance i feel like i'm on a holiday in Maldives, maybe in Hawaii, maybe another tropical island idk. It has been my favorite fragrance to wear (especially in summer) for years. A perfect summer scent, kinda smells like Pina Colada and coconut, ofc with the notes of salt and sea. So sad to see that it has been discontinued.

Nanook2020

Summer in a bottle :) Sweet and refreshing at the same time. Longevity is poor, but hey, its Escada...

PlanetGrl

Just a happy, deliriously sweet summer cocktail. Saccharine fruits, lactonic coconut with just a tiny bit of sandalwood and musk at the very end. Really impressive lasting for a summer EDT, this really borders on kind of heavy for a summer scent. Still, it has some positive memories for me from my time in undergrad studies so I love it.

pilvihihi

This was my signature scent in middle school and the scent that kick-started my fragrance hobby. I wish they would bring this one back.

I remember asking the sales person for this fragrance when it was still sold in stores, but as I couldn't remember anything but the design I asked for "the Lana Del Rey's fragrance" because the girl in the packaging looked like Lana to me and the name sounded a bit too similar to "Born to die". She didn't know what I meant.

Tinabill

Beachside light Pinacolada.
Coconut can be a tricky note if your summer days are as hot and humid as ours (40+C•). Heavily creamy and very sweet coconut would be too overpowering and cloying, whether in perfume or drink, even suntan! (sticky creamy suntans would worsen your sense of heat and sweat and become a mess when the sand sticks to your skin 😡, I prefer gel and spray formulations).
Thankfully BiP is not heavy on coconut and it is nicely blended with a tart pineapple, a juicy watermelon (a fresher and better choice than regular melon IMHO) and crisp apples, which renders it perfect for the soaring temperatures.
Yes these Escadas don’t last, are not signature worthy nor are they very deep and complex, but they never claimed otherwise. They are “limited summer-time editions” and most are very good at it; fun , bright and youthful at heart compositions.
Yes I’d use Guerlain Terracotta for a fancy late dinner on the same vacation, but I would would happily wear BiP to the beach in the mornings 🏖

mrshnchnkm

It was my favorite perfume when I was in school. Sweet guava, juicy pineapple, creamy coconut and all this on a cedar base. I don't wear it anymore, but I still have nostalgic feelings for it and I think it's a good fragrance for this money.

desafinado

This is a typical Escada limited edition summer scent, which is not a problem for me. Very floral fruity, really get that tropical pineapple guava blast right away. I don't really smell coconut at all but "creamlike undertones" from the product description pretty much nails it. It's mainstream, it's tropical, it's delicious, it's fun, I would 100% wear this on a hot summer day

Calliope blue

It's sweet - coconut watery and fruity scent. Very summertime, playful parfume. Cute one. 😊🤗

So I recently scored a used bottle of this out of curiosity and simply because I was craving the simplicity of those scents! I normally don’t go for Escada, since high school, since my tastes have changed and matured, but my oh my those scents can make you happy. Born In Paradise is a fruity first and foremost (hello pineapple!), very bright and sweet perfume. There’s no vanilla here, but you don’t really need it for sweetness as all the fruits are sugared (lacks a bit creaminess though). It’s fresh, it’s young because of the green apple here that’s not too sharp. The guava makes it feel like an exotic shampoo. It’s effortless and summery. Think fruity cocktails at the beach, surfing and laughter. A lighthearted indulgence and a successful blind buy.

TheLB

I bought this simply for nostalgia. I wore escada back in the day as an early teen. It’s definitely sweet, pineapple. Unfortunately, I don’t detect much coconut. It works for a hot summer day when you want something easy and carefree. And it’s reasonably priced.

fatty.ratty

Initial spray and smells like a fresh green apple/guava mixture. Then a little after the watermelon is what tones it down the slightest. Which makes it smell more fresh and juicy. Then The coconut milk devours over and you don't get the pineapple. But there is pineapple but maybe like 3%. Then it smells the same for the rest of the time wearing. Very nice scent.

Givepeasachance

One of the better more recent Escada Summer releases in my opinion. I tend to like them regardless but there is something about this one that is so delicious! I get the creamy coconut, fruity pineapple and the unusual guava mostly, and it’s so good. Really reminiscent of somewhere tropical and faraway, imagine sipping a coconut cocktail on a palm fringed beach in the heat of the day at a shaded beach bar with the sound of the sea lapping the sand. It’s beautiful. I do think it could get sickly, but as usual for these perfumes the longevity isn’t great, lasts an hour, maybe two on me tops before I feel the need to respray so this isn’t really an issue. I only have a 30ml bottle of this and it’s hard to find so I’m using it sparingly! The bottle is the usual shape for these editions and is a beautiful teal blue/green colour, which reminds me of swimming in the Caribbean. Gorgeous for summer.

Livybell

I bought this - on a whim - when it first came out in 2014. My friends and I were flying to Dublin for a girly St. Patricks Day weekend. We were at the airport in Bristol, when I realised I had forgotten my perfume. I popped into the Duty Free shop and saw this on a feature table. I just grabbed a bottle and went with it. One of the best on the spot purchases I ever made. I got compliments on it all weekend. My hubby even complimented me on it when he picked me up at the airport. Seven years later and I am still wearing it. I absolutely adore it!

B00blez_Pop

i had very high expectations for this one. it was a blind buy. i thought it would be a fresh scent that would smell fruity and beachy. i wanted a distinct crisp watermelon scent and coconut but instead i got pure sugar. it is way to sweet to smell anything, and not in a good gourmand way but more sickly sweet.in the bottle is smells better but once it's on my skin it becomes obnoxious. also i can barely smell the coconut or watermelon, which were supposed to be the stars of the show(they lightly seep through the sweetness, definetly not the juicy fresh way i wanted) not to mention the pineapple. the packaging does look very pretty, though my cap didn't come with the pink flower which was disappointing.

MimiiP.

I just repurchase it and I can't wait for summer to arrive so I can wear it every day! This have been my summer fragrance since 2014 and I love it! So milky and creamy it literally smells like pina colada without the alcohol!

gmr1967

Sea, scent of the sea .... Holidays, vacations, holidays. What is more cheerful, lively and imaginative than this fragrance that inspires exotic places and destinations? A jus of flowers and fruit where the note of green apple stands out, stands out and predominates. It is not one of my favorite mixes but every now and then it's nice to get intoxicated with different notes and beyond my comfort zone.

nurism96

To me this is one of the best escada summer fragrances by far. That coconut note and the watermelon stand so much and it is mouthwatering. It is a perfect summer fragrance, specially on those heat days when you just want to smell fruity and light. The lasting power obviously is very limited, but you can't expect much for the price it has. Smells like tropical sunscreen or piña colada. I loved it so much for so long. I don't have it anymore but i remember how much i used to wear it when i was younger on warm summer days here in Spain.

lnoskin

I got this in a swap about a year ago. I haven't smelled it since last summer so I sprayed it on my wrist. After about 30 seconds I got a very synthetic bubble gummy scent. I remember liking this so I decided to spray it on my sleeve to see how it performed on clothes and I like it a lot better. This is a very easy reach for summer days but it isn't something I would have purchased or something I will repurchase when I finish it.

Edit: This was my go to beach scent this summer. I pretty much used it as a body spray. I agree with everything I said above but I did get more use out of it than I thought I would.

Scentra

This is just a nice everyday summer perfume, I get the sweet coconut, apple and watermelon notes, nothing special that will make your mouth water, but just plain nice. Doesn't offend anyone.

Zu_Fragrance

I expected more... This is not yummy Pina Colada. This is cheap smell for my nose.

galelynn23

This smells pretty good, not great. Very similar to Britney Spears Maui Fantasy but a little more woodsy. However, I've had dollar store body sprays that last longer than this. For the price, I would not buy this again.

colorblindlove

One of my favorites from the escada line. It smells like pina colada but with a slight aquatic feel to prevent it from getting too sweet (its still sweet though - don’t get me wrong). The only issue I have with this (and all the other escada perfumes) is that they don’t last AT ALL!! Such a bummer but I still enjoy wearing this.

I smell coconut, watermelon and apple the most in this perfume.

artsyfartsyhaha

LOVEEEE this one- i find this one not to be too sweet like other escada ones I own like aqua de sol. This is alittle subdued with more savory sweet with the creamy coconut. i LOVEEEE this one and i will be buying a backup. Bought this blind and i am not dissapointed. This perfume and the ariana granda cloud are my favorites right now and they have a similar vibe to them (not dupes)

Scentflower

I bought this perfume simply to have a perfume when my husband and I go to the beach. When I'm at the beach I want something uncomplicated, to smell nice and not to offend anyone with a more complicated perfume. This definitely fits all that. It's a pure fruit perfume, no sweetness just fruit. The coconut is dominant. I also get a aquatic vibe but not salty just so light you think of water. The lightness has nothing to do with strength or projection though, just light that it's not cloying. This perfume just smells like suntan lotion with all chemical smell taken out. It's nice and will be inoffensive at the beach.

KittyDeBeauvoir

Born in Paradise is drool-worthy tropical heaven.

Also, it's surprisingly complex!

By that I mean:
It's fruity, but with layers of fruit!
~ sugary water from watermelon
~ crisp acid from green apple
~ juicy tang from pineapple
~ sweet intoxication from coconut

Mmmm…

Definitely a great summer scent.

I'd buy a bottle if I was convinced it would last, but Escada perfumes are notorious for their poor longevity.

So yummy, though!

Kitty rating: 7.5/10.

chinook

Born in Paradise is a tropical fruity perfume. I get tart, clean fruits in the opening that smells like berries to me. There’s a distinct melony note. I don’t like melon notes, so it threw me off. It gets creamy as it warms up. I enjoy it overall, except for the melon note. It’s good for hot weather. Sillage is a little over arms length.

Dort0625

I can honestly say this is one of my Escada favs for sure!! It certainly is a laying in beach paradise, sun beating down on you, tanning lotion, sunscreen and even perhaps being at a resort with a swim up bar that has a long list of yummy tasting and equally yummy smelling drinks. It is pure summery bliss! If you love summer scents this one is a must have!!!

PurrParfumFan

The mental imagine I get from the first sniff is pretty much how the picture is on the box.

This is a beachy type of fragrance. Meaning if you like the smell of sun screen (not that it smells LIKE sun screen, but because it reminds of you where you would smell it) and fruity notes, you will definitely like this.
This isn’t an overdone kind of sweet, BUT I love heavy sweetness and heavy florals in my fragrances. So if your taste doesn’t agree with what I said, test this first.
The only reason why you shouldn’t wear this is if you don’t like it.
Everyone who smells you will be delighted

SailorV

Like a real fruit cocktail, Born in Paradise starts out delicious but doesn‘t get better from sitting around for hours. The opening smells like the perfect pina colada shampoo or shower gel. Scrumptious sweet coconut mixed with other fruity notes, a creamy woody and musky base in the background, warm, clean and tropical. Maybe it’s the watermelon that makes it smell like shampoo in a good way.
I always thought this was one of the best summer Escadas, until I got a sample and tested it more thoroughly... Now I know that it dies down on my skin way too quickly. My skin usually carries perfume very well, but I can barely smell this after ~3 hours. And when I spray two times on the same spot, it becomes cloying after a while. I can‘t make it work.

colorblindlove

This smells really good but its borderline too sweet because of the coconut. To me, this smells like coconuts and watermelons. I might buy a bottle but I’m gunna try it one more time (I got a sample) before I decide to buy it or not. I can imagine guys liking this very much though lol.

DIMITRA93

Nothing special to me, smells like Pina colada. Good for a summer day but I wouldn't purchase it again.

AHeartLikeMine

Fruit punch. Lots of fruit punch. Notes are blended together and not discernible individually.

Alisaaa131

I wrote a review last year and I'm back!
I found the bottle sitting in the depths of my cupboard and thought I'll try it out again.
No idea what happened, I really like it now hahah!
Alot of coconut comes forward whereas I only got watermelon last year, the fruitiness somehow reminds me of Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur but nowhere near as potent.
I've been intrigued by a few of Escada's fragrances but because of last year's disappointment I refrained from purchasing anything else.
I think I'd like to give them a try!
I don't find it to be too juvenile but just a easygoing, semi-fresh fragrance that most would enjoy.

dglightblue

Born in Paradise
Summer test
Sprayed all over after shower, then once more inner elbow a little while after.

First impression: cocktail, pineapple cocktail.
This pineapple stayed glued to my sleeve as I sprayed and pulled my sleeve straight over it.
I don’t really detect much else, it’s a clean freshly cut type pineapple not the syrupy kind.
Where I sprayed initially -one small squirt went on my mid inner arm (nit a pulse point) and the scent is gone. I can detect a little itty bitty bit on my top if I shove my nose right in it.

There is an overall clean ness but not a perfume scent. The only place this has stuck to is the spray about half an hour after showering, inner elbow, and sleeve straight over the top.

I think this is perfectly nice. It’s simplistc, it is what it says on the box I suppose.
I don’t know if it’s my jam, I like more complex scents. In saying that my Lancome Miracle Blossom was pathetic so ya never know I guess.

I am happy to share this or samples and do swapsies or something. I might sell.

Minted

This is my favourite 'fruity' scents!
Pineapple, Watermelon, apple, Guava. I can't pick the coconut up too well :( Although I have used it 3 times and owned it for 1 month, it may come to me later.
I find the musk is strong-ish (not overpowering) and I think it makes me love this mix of notes even more as it's not all fruit. The woods I can also pick up on and I feel it makes it grounded as well.

latafan

This really was a nice tropical one, fruity on first spritz and a bit more coconut in the dry down, but nothing pushing itself to the front too much.
Very well balanced in that regard. Beautiful bottle too.

Longevity was average as far as I remember, projection ok for the first 3 hours or so.

The year it came out it was basically my everyday scent for that summer, so I went ahead and got myself another backup bottle before the next edition rolled around.

But somehow that second bottle took forever to use up. I just hardly ended up reaching for it, reason being that while it is indeed a nice tropical fragrance, somehow there is nothing quite outstanding about it which keeps you coming back for more. There is no big 'wow' about it.
My attention just kept being grabbed by other more exciting things, which is why the last bottle slowly got used up as a 'don't care, just need to smell fresh today' gap filler fragrance.

It's still so far my favorite among the Escada summer editions. It was fun that summer while it lasted. But would I rebuy today? Probably not.

Alisaaa131

I'd never owned an Escada fragrance so I purchased this years ago based on reviews.
I was really hoping for the coconut note to be strong but I get a heck load of watermelon!
Others call this a tropical fragrance but for me it's almost like a shampoo, fresh out of the shower scent.
Disappointed with the longevity and starting to think that maybe coconut just doesn't show up on my skin.

Edit - This smells a lot like the Herbal Essences hydration shampoo, I guess that's the coconut.

dovey

Smells like a coconuty sun screen
Glad they had a tester
not for me

Princess Adora

I was surprised to see a escada perfume at chemist warehouse and was even more surprised it was only 23 dollars for a 100 ml bottle so I purchased this as a blind buy because I have liked escada perfumes in the past and this didn’t disappoint,it’s a very beachy type fragrance and you definitely smell coconut and the juicy pineapple notes,I don’t really smell watermelon in this but it is still a lovely tropical scent, the longevity in this is ok but you probably need to spray on more after 3 to 4 hours but overall I think this is another nice escada fragrance and glad I purchased it.

smile4sharyn

Saw this for sale on the Chemist Warehouse site and looked up the notes and reviews on here.
They sounded perfect for a hot , humid summers day which we've had here lately
So I decided to grab it the last time I headed into the store . It was only $25 and a blind buy
It was perfect for a hot day
So fresh and fruity.
I smell a lot of pineapple and coconut.
First perfume I own with pineapple in it .
Pity the longevity is only a couple hours .
But I don't mind. Gives me an excuse to respray and smell the beautiful pineapple again :)

spc123

This smells like Herbal Essences' Hello Hydration Shampoo.. not impressed.

Mirella86

I used to love this, I bought it exactly the year it appeared. I only used it in the summer. I loved the initial fruity notes and the coconut that appeared after a few minutes. However, now I don't really like it so much anymore. I think it went bad or something, because now I notice a very alcoholic note in the beginning, that wasn't there before. Either that or I grew up and I don't really enjoy fruity fragrances anymore :))

Luminan

I want to like it but I don't :(
It's too coconutty. Coconut itself is ok as a scent but this mixture just doesn't work on my skin. The bottle is pretty though. I keep this as a decoration :)

Sara74

Such a beautiful bottle and package to begin with. The product welcomes the summer as you spritz it all over your body and of a sudden you are in a lovely tropical island with lushes of Pina Colada-ish juicy notes. This is also aquatic and usually such notes doesen't last so long on the skin, but when it is summer you want the sweet freshness and not over cloying perfume on your body (well I don't). This perfume needs to be reapplied after approximate 2-3 hours, but then you get all the fresh top notes again, and that is actually ok. I think this is an excellent tropical summer perfume and you can be very generous with the spraying without offending people nearby.

pearlbelle

I was expecting a blast of coconut when I blind brought this fragrance, but what I got, was a really fresh, almost salty, sea water. I straight away smelled pineapple, but it soon descended into really salty water with a hint of the watermelon. A really nice aquatic fragrance.

elita rzisceva

This is very nice fragrance it smells like coconuts in a aqua sweet breeze... Not too sweet more of coconut and on my skin it smells little bit more musk then from the bottle... Very good Summery fragrance!

kitsunemagic

Smells like Hello Hydration shampoo by Herbal Essence with a creamy dry down, this perfume is decent quality and lasts a good amount and is a pleasant every day scent that's safe enough to not bother others

PerfumeKing14

when this is first sprayed it's gorgeous, almost jellybean sweet to me with a hint of pineapple & coconut then as soon it settles (a minute or two) its gone on me. i get a very very faint coconut smell for around an hour maybe but other than that i cant get it to last on me which is such a shame because the scent itself (when you can smell it) is lovely.

duchess_atreides

Born in Paradise is a lot more fresh than Taj Sunset, but the sweetness is more comforting, so I like it a lot more. Still not to the level of Agua del Sol, but I'm definitely not sorry for having bought it (I'm getting as many of the Escada summer scents as I can find). I just wish it had better sillage, as it is quite an optimistic fragrance.

Oh, she smells good!

This is the first tropical fragrance i ever bought, and still to this day it holds a special place in my heart. Pineapple and coconut in a slight breeze! Simple and tropical.

Calinare

Aquatic Coconut Pineapple.
First spray = 50% Pineapple 50% Coconut
Drydown = 80% Coconut 20% Pineapple

It's sweet and aquatic with some floral but I have no idea what note that was.

nvenus

I have to do an update on the EdT (on my skin). It's nice and good but it's just like a sweet, exotic, tropical fruit punch (with not so much alcohol). What I dislike about this is what I've disliked with all the other Escada frangraces that I've tried; they're similar to some cheap, drugstore fragrances which aren't necessarily bad but I expect more from a perfume that's as expensive as an Escada perfume can be.

Maybe the price is because of high quality or the brand... Not sure but the scent isn't as special as I expected or expect. ... But, it's still a beautiful fragrance, it just has a scent that's similar to less expensive perfumes.

I'd rate it 4-5.5/10 but yes, if you do love Escada and tropical (pineapple, coconut...) scents; 6/10.

bronni666

another inoffensive, super sweet, musky and fruity scent from escada. this one is very tropical like pina coladas. great for summer.

update. has no lasting power

nvenus

I'm the 600 person to vote and one of those who love/like this; Escada, this is probably one of your best fragrances so far, atleast the best among your tropcal ones!

EdT: Definately a prominent pineapple note followed by an almost as prominent coconut note and then guava and watermelon. I scented the pineapple in the opening and the watermelon at the middle but this is based on a drop on my skin (I've got a miniature of this so there's no way to spray it).

There isn't so much to say about it, I could analyze the notes for days but it's enough to say that all the listed notes are occuring but mostly the tropical fruits along with some sweetness probably from the watermelon or/and guava.. However, I don't think the cedar was necessary, atleast not if they wanted to make it as good as possible otherwise I guess they had some concept they wanted to fulfill...? Doesn't matter, what matters is that I think more coconut and more pineapple would make this like a scent-paradise from heaven. ... Now it's too sweet and hindered from being as tropical and fruity as I (most of us?) want it to be.

Suitable for all seasons, occasions and weathers. The cedar and musk could make it more suitable for cold weather and the fruity notes suits spring and summer... Depends on what you concentrate on and scent the moste.

(Also, I assume some agree, a lot of Escada perfumes tend to smell a bit cheap, like drugstore perfumes and I don't know why... What is it that follows through every Escada perfume and smells too sweet and/or artificial? Feel like it's too iconic to be removed now, it's like a part of the Escada brand...)

6-8/10

Lissa1991

This was a blind buy, and I was absolutely sure I would love it as I just love Escada summer scents in general. I do like it, but not as much as I thought. The initial notes are AMAZING - a coconut and pineapple punch! 3 seconds later all you're left with is a synthetic tropical cocktail that resembles strawberry to me. Still pleasant but bordering on over sweetness, and it smells a bit like bubble gum. I am keeping this, but definitely not repurchasing when it ends.

Ribbonfiend

Saw this at the store and tried on my skin. I immediately detected coconut in the initial burst along with the pineapple. Funny though, the top notes were the ones that came later on! Sadly for me, the coconut disappeared as quickly as it came and what's left in the drydown is some kind of fruit smell I couldn't quite put my finger on.. Pear? Overall I was disappointed in this. I so wanted to love it because I'm collecting coconut perfumes, but it was sadly lacking in the coconut note.:( If you don't care much for coconut this just might be a good summer frag for you!

victoriasecret0303

So disappointed with this. Blind bought and expected a really summery, creamy and fruity scent. In reality, it's a really harsh coconutty scent that lasts 3 hours max. So disappointing

Scent: 5/10
Longevity: 4/10
Sillage: 6/10

Sassygirl18

I bought this because many reviewers mentioned coconut, but to me it just smells like tropical fruit punch. I don't smell any coconut at all. It's a nice enough fragrance, if you like fruity Bath & Body Works-type fragrances.

Inamorata

The smell of this fragrance is fresh fruit. Light and airy, it starts with fruity pineapple and goes on with warm creamy coconut. Fresh, summery, light. It reminds me of a sunny day on the beach! Warm, cosy, relaxing, lovely!

FabulouslyLazy

This is the most tropical perfume ever! Absolutely! It's the perfect summer cocktail...maybe a little too girlish. I can't really imagine a woman in her thirties wearing it. Perhaps not even in her late twenties.

Profumella

Very sweet and strong coconut fragrance with fruits. Perhaps I should buy this one. Reminds me of Escada island kiss but a lot of more sweet coconut. If you like Escada's coconut fragrances then this will not be disappointment

SpaceCowgirl

This is an amazing tropical scent that I can't get enough of. Creamy coconut, pineapple, guava....paradise indeed! But let's face it, this is just a glorified body spray. Longetivity is practically non existent so bring it with you to quick spray whenever you feel like smelling it again. These weak limited edition scents Escada keeps releasing is so aggravating. I think they can make some really fun tropical and floral scents but what's the point in buying them if they last only an hour. Add some intensity, Escada and I will actually purchase your fragrances!

Dort0625

I just did a review on this recently, but the more I wear it the more I wanted to do an updated review! So this actually smells near identical to Wild Glow by J-Lo! It's so fruity tropical sweet and fresh!! It's so pretty!!!

raiza1990

Really good. nothing groundbreaking, but stil a very nice summer scent. a mood lifter, reasonably priced. i would repurchase. Could have better longevity and Sillage though.
I think it suits all ages. it does not scream "young" on your face, nor "party animal" i think it has more a "a relaxing day in a luxus spa" vibe.
Note: 8/10

YunitaArien

I'm currently in looooovvvveeeee with this perfume!!! Perfect cocktail coconut vanilla sweet scent!!!! The bottle is gorgeous. Beautiful

Emilee1978

So, I was in Kohls the other day and grabbed a box of what I thought was turquoise summer. Turns out it was this. I've owned at least six of the Escada fragrances over the years, and let's be honest, they're all kinda the same. Fruity, tropical , fleeting , and about one step up from a BBW spray, but easy. I realized I bought the wrong one, but figured , hey , they're almost always similar, how bad could it be? I actually don't like it at all, now I'm stuck with 3.4 oz of it! I usually love coconut, but have realized there's a difference between coconut notes, coconut water and coconut milk. This one has coconut milk, and to me it's too creamy and almost greasy smelling ? Anyways, I'll be looking to unload this one

Another unexpected little scent, and sadly, a bit of a disappointment. Born in Paradise is not bad by any means, but it's just so fleeting that it's hard to appreciate. The opening is what really threw me as it smells like the red Hawaiian Punch that my kids drink on occasion. There's also a milk-like undertone that makes me nauseous. A light sprinkle of coconut is mingled in, but by the time it really appears (in the dry down), the scent is so faint, it's practically gone. It's far more sugary fruit juice than tropical fruit cocktail, if that makes sense.
Longevity is only a couple of hours and projection is non-existent.
Again, it's not bad, but I'm sad about this one. I feel like I should apologize for not liking it, and I'm not sure why.

Today I purchased a four piece collectors edition of escada fragrances! Cherry in the air, this one, turquoise summer and taj sunset! I love this one! Omg it smells amazing! It reminds me of summer so much! Like sunscreen fruity fun in the sun! I would say of the four it's either my favourite or tied for 1st with turquoise summer! Truly enjoyable! If you aren't into summery fruity girly fun scents, this would not be for you!

AnnaT

I like this frangrance. Maybe it is my favourite Escada.

Escada have been having very very sweet limited editions in the past years. I remember i once had a boss who used Pacific Paradise and Magnetism alternatively every day. For my untrained nose, both frangrance smells just the same. And i did not know whether it was her over liberal application or it was the frangrance, the scent left a heavy trail and it caused severe headache (imagine the scent sitting in a small air-tight office).I felt both frangrance was quite delicious and fruity juicy. But that memory stays with me to the point that i have abstained from using any Escada frangrance.

But Born in Paradise is different from the two mentioned (or it is becuase i spray lightly?). It did not have overwhelming oppressive sweetness. What it has is a fresh fruity rather than sticky fruity. I think the coconut is done better than Versace Noir. It is just new for me to have frangrance with coconut and pineapple and watermelon, as opposite to usual berry.

i like the commerical as well. Rather than putting up a glam or a swimsuit model or a nude model and displaying the frangrance bottle, the commerical actually shows the notes! I like the more 'informative approach'!

Red Sin

i guess it got discontinued now, i've been looking for it for 4 days .. and when i finally found it in a shop it was only available as 100ml ( i never purchase the full sizes ) so i guess i'll just keep looking 'till i find the 50ml , i adore this scent i have to get asap !!!!

icelovepf

Very sweet for me
my boyfriend give me in birthday
very love it !!!!!!!!!

Fluffyandpuffy

I just love! Escada's summer beachy scents. They are edt so no major longevity but in the summer it's perfect , so fruity and suntan lotioney. A little coconut with some juicy tropical fruity cocktails. I'll carry a small sprayer in my purse to refresh when needed. A real mood lifter.

GalInGlasses

I wish I could smell what others are smelling in this fragrance! I got a sample in the hopes that it would be a great coconutty fruit cocktail, and I must admit, I am rather disappointed by the lack of sillage and longevity. In addition, I'm not entirely sure of what I'm smelling. It opens with a watery pineapple on my skin, then fades to the smell of Barbie. Not what I would picture Barbie wearing, but literally, the scent of an actual Barbie doll. I guess I've found my doll's head fragrance, but it's not really what I'm looking for. Very envious of those who smell the coconut!

sassa7

This is my all time fav. I save it for the hot summer nights. I wear it on my tan shimmery skin and lasts all night. I get mainly coconut but it is a very fresh scent not overwhelming.

jan17

An extremely tropical perfume, drinks by the sea and summer parties with friends, trips to more tropical destinations, ours! I'm just traveling man! I love Summer! About the smell is a beautiful fruit cocktail very reminiscent of the smell of Malibu Run, the Watermelon gives ozônico touch, pineapple and coconut are the sweetest and most important part of perfume, other fruits are there but quiet and not so memorable! A beautiful fragrance -Escada for days of fun! Fixation is moderate and design at the beginning then calms the skin!

DiaAnna

Just got it , it's ok , still I think price is pretty high atm , it could've waited a bit but I wanted to have it , it's a light edt , could be layered with smtng stronger ..

ladyone1

My husband loves when I wear it ! I love it as well, it's very sweet fruity and perfect for summer days / holidays at the beach / day off in summer! Can't get enough of it.

patricia.favron

Don't like this too much, it feels synthetic and gross on me. First time I kinda didn't mind it but it makes me sick to smell this on me now. Oh well, pretty bottle for my vanity!

Contessa01

This is far too coconutty for me. But if you like the thought of coconut meets pina colada meets suntan lotion you may like it. I would choose Taj Sunset instead.

Dclxvi

I LOVED the smell of this on paper, and requested a sample at Sephora. Once I went home and put it on, it was a different story altogether. I was really glad I didn't put it on in public. It smelled terrible on me!

I don't know what the note was, but whatever it was made me nauseous. It was overwhelming! Born in Paradise started to smell like sunscreen (which I'm allergic to, I think my body just can't handle anything that hints at it!). I had to scrub it off HARD after a few minutes...and I still got whiffs of it at work the next day after showering and more scrubbing.

If it wasn't for that one "something" that made it smell like sunscreen, I might have enjoyed the fragrance but I couldn't smell past that disgusting note. Kind of disappointed, I wanted so much to enjoy it (love the summery concept and packaging).

mister_chaz

I bought this for the fun bottle, plus I wanted something light and sweet which I could bring with me on vacations. Born in Paradise seems to deliver in this respect - it's a sweet flirty fruity scent, I get coconut and sweet pineapple, somewhat synthetic but pleasant. The longevity is decent, the only let down is projection - it sits very close to the skin, so not very noticeable to others. I've been sampling various Escada fragrances and this one passed the OK mark for me (possibly, the only decent Escada after Taj Sunset)

LaylaRed

I smelt this yesterday for the first time, and wow. It was so nice!!! It was like a summer holiday in a bottle. It reminded me of being on a beach covered in coconut scented sun cream whilst drinking cocktails. I can't wait to buy this, i love it.

sarage

This is not for me, for I am not a friend of the coconut note. I did buy this for my daughter though, because she loves coconut and this is a very subtle, fresh version of a tropical coconut fragrance. It is not one of those in-your-face-tropicals that Escada is famous of. I think this is more delicate and my daughter smells fabulous when she wears this.

rickyfreaky13

Thank God i found this!!!! Will wear it for my summer holiday next month to Phuket, Thailand

Muzoona

I admire the Escada summer tropical surprises. For this year, coconut and pineapple are dominating. very fruity and nutty. i always wear it in the hot summer days.
This type of perfumes are used only for self feeling good. because of the weak longevity and sillage, we cannot attract others by it.

Jasmindee

Juicy watermelon and soft, milky coconut, mmm!

This is soft, creamy, milky and aquatic all at once. The bottle is absolutely beautiful and the colours are stunning. It reminds me a little of Avon's Tahitian Holiday in that it has the slightest hint of sun cream.

I bought it for my brother's beach loving girlfriend for her birthday and it came in this gorgeous gift set with a small picnic bag. It's very tropical themed and if you know anyone that loves that colour scheme, this would make a beautiful gift.

I tested it on myself and the sillage is pretty good, about 2-3 hours.

I give it an 8/10!

Panda94

I got this perfume in summer, and the notes are very much tropical! I would say that the basic note is coconut, strong fresh coconut. It's warm and it's also fresh at the same time! I did not like this scent unfortunately :( Just because I feel like a youth/teen by spraying this on my skin... In my opinion I think this will suit younger girls better or just for an summer/tropical signature scent!

DionysusSeven

Out of the 3 Escada fragrances I own, this one is probably my favourite. It's very tropical, without being too sweet. It's like most Escada scents, which are bright, fruity, in your face and playful. This one is nice for summer during the day or at night, I find it has a nice dry down that isn't too daytime. I can really smell the coconut and fresh juicy tropical fruits. It's been a good scent on me, I just wish this one lasted longer like my other ones.

CPelly82

All I can say is " wow "!! I got a chance to sample this and I fell in love. On the first spray you get coconut, pineapple and watermelon that makes your mouth water. Very tropical and not sickly sweet. Great summer scent but to be honest I would wear it all the time.

Hafida

Such a greatness! This is my first Escada parfume.I felt very happy when I smelled it :). It's full of joy! I'm thankfull for having this masterpiece. I feel fantastic wearing it.

r4elle

A Piña Colada!!! Exactly for summery, warm days when you want to appear on a tropical island. I was able to distinguish the coconut smell among all the other fruits at the first sniff. This perfume has some kind of creamy accent which I am not a huge fan of, however it is not too strong and it is probably the coconut that soothes this for me. Also because of watermelon and pineapple I think I also get that dusty airy feeling, and still it is in no way overwhelming, so I totally enjoy the whole experience. I got quite a lot of compliments on this.

HanamiTsukimi

For me, this opens with the slightly nauseating smell of jolly ranchers bathed in chemicals, which then gives way to the overbearing odor of air freshener. This definitely doesn't invoke visions of a tropical Eden, let alone anything else that occurs in nature.

primarycook

Very fruity, summery and tropical. I wore this today and caught a whiff of it while in the produce section of the grocery store, and it took me a second to realize it was me and not the fruit salad. This is fun for summer and has a lightly creamy base. It's not my typical scent, and skews young and teenager-y to me, but I won't mind using up my sample.

summer05

I had to try this perfume on and I was so disappointed:(. I do agree with the comment below, this perfume reminded me of midnight fantasy, although it is quite a bit more settle and not fruity straight away in an annoying way, still it is similar to midnight fantasy -witch I wish I can get red of it_. It is weird that Escada came up with such a scent, maybe I expected something more like into the blue, and signature. I wanted to try it so bad so that I can buy it and add a gorgeous bottle of perfume to my collection, but now I will not!!!...It is sad:(

odisse

So I had to have this one and ordered a full sized bottle... Only thing is, when I tried it at home I came to think of Fantasy, and BonBon..... which I can't stand :( but I do still like this one! Maybe it's a lot more like Midnight Fantasy, which is perfectly ok...

What I wanted to say was, this fragrance smells delicious but sadly reminds me too much of Fantasy :

dsty

A nice, fruity summer smell. A fruit cocktail with a bit of cream, very well mixed: the coconut isn't too dominant, and it's sweet but not too much so. I don't think it smells especially cheap; it doesn't have that synthetic vibe. It is simple and straightforward, however - not at all complicated or mysterious or sophisticated or even serious. That's not a bad thing; at the right time it can be just what the doctor ordered, it's just so happy and carefree! In that sense it's probably more fitting for young people (if they're lucky enough to be carefree, of course), but in my opinion it's great for the lighter moments at any age. Very suitable for holidays in the sun, for instance, but obviously not as suitable for Business Women who dress to impress (unless maybe lightly sprayed on the wrist, to use as a pick-me-up when no one is looking, I can easily imagine that!)

I have a big sample of this that'll last me for some time, but I'll keep my eyes open for a promotion on a bottle of this. Longevity is quite good for a summer fruit perfume as well!

Yosa

Escada used to be my favorite fragrance brand when I was in my late teens and early 20s. Haven't used them in almost 10 years now. I have fond memories of Escada, but something in me has labeled it as a 'teen' perfume.

To my excitement I received a tester of Born in Paradise last week - felt truly exciting to test Escada again after so many years!

I can honestly say I was wrong about the 'teen perfume' - it's not a teen scent, even though very young and suitable for young people. It's just that sometimes when you use something during a certain period of time, you associate it to that phase of life - perfumes are a great example of that.

I remember now why I loved Escada perfumes so much, and regret having such a long break from them!

Born in Paradise is fun, young and tropical. Very summery. It smells like coconut and pineapple, with other exotic fruits in it.

It's a light perfume, but in its lightness there's also something heavy/rich about it - if you think about how coconut smells like, it's not a light scent. So in that sense Born in Paradise is not a refreshingly light perfume, if that's what you're looking for.

I live in a hot climate, and regardless of sweating in the sun the fragrance has good lasting power! I detect it for hours after spraying, regardless of the sweating.

I will definitely buy a bottle of this, and can recommend anyone who likes tropical scents to at least test it!

LadyPilot

The name should rather be 'Locked up in Coconut Hell'... Ok, not necessarily 'hell' but at least 'shell'. If you like to smell like coconut instead of consuming one, you should give it a try. Besides that overwhelming note, it's quite nice and could be fun if layered with something juicier/fruitier/fresher.

Arinetrix

I have this fragrance now and I really like it. It is not the best one I had, but made for summer. It lasts approx 3-4 hours on me and I can still smell it during this time. It´s fresh, watery, I smell more pineaple and musk then cocount. I would recommend it. I think you cannot do anything wrong with this fragrance also as a gift :)

Sannee77

Escada Born in Paradise was an impulse buy on a grey day when I was tired and bored and desperately longed for warmer weather and a vacation from work. The tropical notes, the turquoise bottle, an the NAME! I just had to have it.

It is a nice fragrance indeed, warm, happy and fun, excellent for a beach vacation I would assume. However in my everyday life in the cold Nordic climate, with kids and work and duties, it just doesn't blend in. It makes me feel awkward, like I'm carrying a green parrot on my shoulder or something. Not really my style.

I get a very dominant guava note, sweet and ripe, which stays throughout the top, mid and base. I also get a lot of watermelon, which I usually find too "watery", but in Born in Paradise the watermelon is quite well balanced. The coconut however is not as pronounced as I would have liked it to be. And except for a clearly detectable musk the basenotes are merely symbolic, very difficult to sniff out any woodsy notes.

Excellent longevity!

scav

Just got the sample from the mailbox and tested it on my way to the office. It is warm and melony and juicy, but on the gentle side, very pleasant and not at least overpowering. After it is settled down feels somehow powdery, nice mix of cedar and sandalwood. Good reaction with skin chemistry, so well done and balanced. It lasted on my skin for about 8 hrs, moderate silage.
This fragrance will provide you daily dose of optimism!
I can imagine wearing this fragrance all summer.

bridgette

It's my favorite Escada scent out of 3 I've smelled. Very tropical. Not light or heavy. Medium longevity. But Escada perfume irritates my lungs for some reason so can't wear it.

Donaldquick123

Oh escada is on of my favorite perfume houses out there right now. They sure know how to capture the essence of summer in a bottle time after time! This one is no different and this is limited edition so I suggest if you like summary beachy fragrances then you better pick this up before they discontinue it! :( that's the only sad part about escada is they make a New Fragrance every year but it is limited edition so they are only out for about a year, but anyway onto the juice. On first spray I detect lots of coconut which I am obsessed with might I add but it mixed with the watermelon and pineapple it amazing it's one of my top 5 scents this year!!! I love it . But that's kinds all I detect is very fruity and milky scent perfect for summer. And the bottle am I the only person who loves the escada bottles they are everything! 11/10

chuetta

You know the shampoo herbal essences hello hydration? that's what this smells like. Perfect for summer, fresh and yummy!

fruitypanda

This scent reminds me a lot of Bath and Bodyworks' Rio Rumberry. The main note is the coconut but the watermelon and pineapple mix with it to give a fruity splash. The sandalwood sets a beachy vibe for the overall fragrance, and it reminds me of sun screen, but in a good way. Makes me feel like I'm at Ala Moana beach.

arenee92

Fruity and fun. A great summer scent. I smell a ton of the fruit, and not a lot of much else. Kind of like you poured a yummy summer drink on your skin. :)

Schurrles

Finally got a free sample in the mail, and was so eager to open. Upon opening, the first scent that hit my nose just reminded me of Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy except this is a more subtle version.

That one packs a mean punch and doesn't change till I wash it off. I mean BS/MF has no dry down whatsoever, but Escada's born in paradise does.

Longevity? I can't really tell cos I got the paper sample not a spray-ish.

Will hopefully get a full bottle when the price goes down cos it's ridiculously on the high price now.

Added to my I-Want-List.

mjd83

I received my free sample in the mail today. I've been walking around sniffing my wrist. It is a pleasant scent. I am picking up on the coconut and other sweet notes but I am also picking up the cedar. I am not a big fan of the cedar note. Other than that it is a nice scent. Its just not for me though.

apricot.porridge

Yes please. Pineapple, coconut, guava and watermelon are all noticeable yet very well balance - none of them overpowering the other, and grounded by delicious cedar and sandalwood. Like most Escada fragrances, the head notes are central, and all of the others play together around them to bring them out and give them that nice grown up feel that makes for a fruity fragrance that doesn't smell like a children's perfume.
This fragrance has average staying power on me, about 4 hours tops.
My favorite Escada perfume at the moment, hands down.

madellaa

My latest discovery made by accident, absolutely delicious fruity and milky coconut notes, delicate musk and sandalwood in the background...nothing too overwhelming, nothing too heavy, this fragrance takes you to the tropical beach, just perfect holiday perfume, gonna wear it everyday this summer:)

BenBnBe

This is a beautiful Escada scent,in this fragrance the coconut stay fresh, and doesnt overpowering!
At first it was fruity with the coconut in the background, but then a few minutes later the coconut realy stands out but with fruits and do a perfect scent for summer, ready for holiday, sun, beach!
I love love love this fragrance its just my ultimate ticket to paradise what I going to use this summer!
Love iiit,love love love

Natalieanne

It smells like a summer tropical fruit drink on a very hot beach with bright blue sea and pale sand... It's gorgeous!

Sxaninha

If you want a summer coconut fragrance, this is it! Exotic and fresh! I smell the coconut, the pineapple, the watermelon and the guava gives it the sweet. Yes, there is no vanilla, no sugar but it still smell sweet! :D With Cherry in the air, my favorites!!!

vattenmelon

what a perfect summer/vacation scent! dancing on the beach at night and refreshing yourself on a hot day by spraying this delicious tropical scent on your body:)

Velvet_Touch

This is a tropical romance fragrance! I adore it. I don't have it (yet) but one of my best friens likes to wear it on sunny days. Very exotic, warm and sweet! I wish I could enjoy wearing it on a tropical island...

perfumemad62

This perfume is BEAUTIFUL!!! Summer paradise in a bottle!

Sweet, milky coconut with juicy pineapple, guava and a little bit of musk. Mmmmmm, so delicious. Lasted about 5 hours on my skin and had great sillage. I am very impressed with Escada fragrances; they capture youth, fun and happy times in a bottle.

Overall, an amazing perfume that puts me in a happy, sunny mood. Yes this isn't a serious fragrance but sometimes you want to smell fun and carefree! Highly recommended!

Aimee1209

This perfume is heaven! I just ordered a sample and I fell in love! This perfume is very sweet and summery! It smells like babyliss tropical dry shampoo, it's very young, free spirited and feminine. The bottle is gorgeous and so is the sent. I can't stop smelling it! The only thing I would say is it's only eau de toilette and doesn't have great lasting power. Still would buy it though it's fabulous!

johanna.lindholm

I really like this one actually! Like a Piña Colada in a bottle! The only thing I don't really like about it is the poor lasting power.

The scent is sooo summery. I'm gonna purchase this baby and wear the hell out of it this summer!

TrudyAmanda

Close your eyes and you'll feel like you're on an exotic island. I pick up coconut with a variety of other tropical fruits. Does not last as long as an EDP but I find it lasts as long as any of my other EDTs. If you like JLO Miami Glow you will no doubt enjoy this summer fragrance.

SweetShelly

It smells like an impression of Britney spears Midnight Fantasy! But more soft I like it

Warleyflower

Sprayed some on my wrist in Boots and I fell in love! However ater 30 minutes it had vanished :(!!
Escada, why can't you make your amazing fragrances longer lasting!?!

Lisa290872

Wow. I love this so much. Makes me feel happy and already on holiday when I'm wearing it. It is a lot more subtle in the fruity stakes than the usual Escada perfumes and the coconut is not overpowering like some coconut scents. I've been on fragrance direct today and purchased the 100ml and the 150ml body lotion. Beautiful summer scent. Well done Escada and I hope that they do not discontinue this as I will be purchasing more.

Veevi

It's a pina colada in a bottle

prigipessa

Delicious yummy sweet perfume. It excites senses. So summery, I fell in love with the first smell. Next day went back to the perfume store to buy it. Only 28 Euros the 30ml bottle, great buy I will enjoy it this spring-summer!

milkyway

I would really warn anyone against blind-buying it. Regardless of
the raving reviews this stuff really works differently on everyone. To me it smells pretty rancid and more like those cheap car air fresheners cab drivers on their rear view mirrors..

shopgirl

Smells like an fruit ice lolly. Simple, sweet, linear in smell - doesn't develop just slowly fades away. Unsophisticated and unremarkable, yet still pleasant and easily wearable on a hot day.

SBunny

This opens fruity, sweet, gummy and yummy with a delicious candy blend of the watermelon, guava and pineapple. It really smells just like tropical skittles. The sweetness subsides a little and it becomes fresher with the added coconut but still just as delicious.

I love this. It smells just as fun as summer should be. I feel, however, it dries too quickly. Whilst I can still smell it up to four hours it becomes close to the skin too soon.

None the less, I'll def be getting this for summer.

AshesofGlitter

I get a sweet, fruity, coconuty smell from it. I into gourmands and this smells like skittles or starburst. Defintely a warm weather fragrance, not so much for cooler weather. It's refreshing and sweet like a beach vacation where you're relaxing on the beach while having a little umbrella drink.

lemontreelime12

My first thought was this was just another sunscreen scented perfume, but I asked for a sample at sephora in spite of it. And then I found myself wearing the sample every day until it was gone. When you wear it, the brashness dissipates and you get this mild coconut water pineappley warm scent that doesnt overpower you. It doesnt last long, but then you catch hints of it here and there later in the day. Actually, I decided after a week of trying it that i loved it, and better just go back and get the big bottle before it's discontinued.

pinkgnome

I like this a lot but if I compare with Taj Sunset, I like Taj Sunset better as it has more characters. In my opinion Born in Paradise has quite straight- forward scents, there is common tropical/fruitiness with other brand's fragrances i.e. Britney Spears'.

This is more powdery than Taj.
Lasts quite long on me without being heavy (I don't like anything with heavy base notes)

Just coming back from sun holidays this reminds me of the heat in the tropical air of my holidays.

Should I buy or not, that's the question !

chimidoro

TIGI Rockaholic "Livin' the Dream" shampoo, is that you?!
(Reminds me a little of the The Body Shop's old pomegranate body butter too!!)

On me this is all about the pineapple and coconut.
Heaps of pineapple and coconut with an exceedingly hefty helping dose of sugar.

I don't think that it smells like pina colada, but it does put me in mind of an alcohol free version of pina colada.

I don't smell any watermelon here, but I do get a hint of the apple trying to come through.
I believe that the sugary sweet note is probably the guava, which adds extra tastiness to the scent.

Slightly sour and nutty.
A young, vibrant, fresh, light and inoffensive, sugary summery scent. Definitely appears to be intended for holiday/beach wear.
Admittedly overpriced. So, if you like it, wait for a sale and then be the only one wearing it some other summer.

Red Rose

Tested this a few days ago & let me tell you it has nothing to do with their previous edition pacific paradise. This smells exactly like pina colada, a strong mix of pieapple & coconut with a heavy base of vanilla, making the mix creamy like a thick layer of tropical scented cream. I'll not add this fragrance to my collection it's not my style, I prefer sexy gravity & I have it in my collection if you want to know what my taste in fragrances looks like.

Buttonbear

I'm a long time devotee of Avon's Tahitian Holiday and this is very similar - great for the Summer but the typical Escada problem of not very long lasting.

Lollyeyecandy

I don't know why this has had as many bad reviews as it has. I am a long time Escada colletor so couldn't wait to get my hands on this. I was slightly hesistant after reading all of the reviews on this page though...
Anyway, it is already in my top 3 Escada fragrances. It is different from the rest of their perfumes. It has awesome lasting power and lingers in any room I have been in (not sprayed it in) and I have had several complements from strangers in passing saying they loved my scent and asked what it was.
I ordered the 100ml bottle from an awesome site which came with a free gift - a cocktail kit - which is super cute. This is definately a summer fragrance and for me coconut is the most prominant note.

kapek

I;ve never thought that I would buy full bottle of Escada. I always found all great smelling, but never really wanted to spend money on them. But GOD this one was love at first sniff and I needed to have it. As I tested it with my bro, we laughed because it reminds us on Hubba Bubba bubble gums we loved as kids. It;s so "free" and yummy. It evokes some childhood memories and somehow the feeling of freedom. It;s sweet, juicy and milky - the coconut and little "airy" or better said aquatic - probably the watermelon. Damn it;s just limited. It;s addictive and will be good for all occasions. Longevity and sillage are imo great. You scored ESCADA!! :-D

The Swedish girl

This smells similar too "Midnight Fantasy" by Britney Spears.
Like a bag of Skittles!
Fruity, with a touch of warm vanilla.
I can smell pipe tobacco too, very weird.

leighhannah

Fades quickly and doesn't make much of a statement while it's there. Sadly, I won't be buying this. I was looking forward to it too.

eaudemoi

PINA COLADA!!!

is what this smells like, exclamation marks included. I'm personally not a fan, but if sweet tropical is your jam, you need to give it a shot!

joan100

This has finally hit my shores! I ran to try it out and its not that bad except that it smells quite similar to Taj Sunset with the coconut milky-ness even though it is not as strong so I think I actually prefer this to Taj Sunset. It is on par with Cherry in the Air which smelt quite good. It seems as if Escada is redeeming itself again after some recent and rather disasterous synthetic candy fruity releases. Even so I vastly prefer and miss the old Escada Scents from the 90s and early 00s.

dame piglet

I looked forward to testing this, but I was disappointed.
It was 60% watermelon, 20% apple and the remainder was just miscellaneous "meh."
No silliage to speak of and not much lasting power (which I was fine with).

Is it horrible? No. It's fruity. It's just not for me.

ETA: if I wanted to spend this much on a tropical fragrance that doesn't last, I'd choose Taj Sunset. This is no Taj Sunset. :(

Patricia888

I have noticed an interesting coincidence with Escada perfumes - they smell terrific in the bottle but ess so on the skin. When I sniffed it in the bottle I sure felt crazy about it but when I blew it on my wrist the scent turned out to be pretty generic and gone in no time.

ScarlettX

Another one from Escada's bright summer perfumes. It's no surprise that it smells sweet, tropical and fruity. Pineapple is very outstanding in perfume. It reminds of childhood for some reason. It's strange, because I am not from a warm country where pineapples and watermelons can grow. I think this smells like candies and innocence. When I smell it, I think of running at the seaside, picking flowers and eating candies.

MandiPants85

This frag probably smells nice----if I didn't have to press my nose to my skin to smell it, this has absolutely no silage whatsoever and the scent is disappearing as I write this review and I only spayed it half hour ago. The scent itself on initial blast smells like a cheaply made febreze air freshener, not bad, but not 80$ bottle good. The dry down is much better, it smells like Pina Colada rich coconut and fresh pineapple, very vacation and islandy. However be prepared to play where's waldo on your skin with this scent, because even body sprays have better longevity.

Jillita

Pineapple punch that lasted fifteen seconds. Linear, anemic, and girly. So sweet I expected a sticky sheen where I'd applied it. Born in Paradise is such a wonderfully evocative name for a fragrance, accompanied by a beautiful bottle and juice presentation, but the scent just misses the mark (at least on me). As there are seemingly as many fragrances out there to try in the world as there are stars in the sky, I believe after sampling and being now disappointed by several Escada Limited Editions that it's high time to find a new beach. Next stop is L de Lolita Lempicka Coral Flower...

Ghosty

Smells cheap, poor lasting power and weak sillage. Waste of time and money.

Trvevil

Very sour and fruity, I was so eager and even squeled when saw a tester in store. But...

I'm into fruity scents right now and by notes this had to be perfect.

It starts really sour-sweet and powerful, like a super concentrated juice with an overdose of lemon acid. My first thought was - oh! That smells pretty cheap!
I've smelled cheap fruity fragrances that smell so similar. My boyfriend liked it, but what does he know about a good scent xD

The question here is - where is the guava? I don't smell it here. [I actually can detect it now lurking somewhere when I actually wear the scent] Too bad, but overall this scent is wearable and pleasant. I quite like it and think of purchasing this perfume. It reminds me of pink Oriflame's Aloha, that's why I want it. It's like a lush version of Aloha.

+
Pleasant fruity scent
Longlasting
Has powerful sillage
Likeable to other people

Similar to previous LE (based on what others say)
There are alternatives
And a con for me personally - costs 74 eur in Europe?? It goes for 70 bucks in the US :(

UPD. Initially it can disappoint, but... I actually shelled 70 euro for a big bottle of this (always wanted one of Escada's LE, but all were not too tempting to me for years and I wanted something a la Pacific Paradise etc.) and when you wear it it's just so yummy, so much better than when I first tested it. Sour apple and pineapple so crispy and cheerful, and the coconut is really mellow and captivating. I can't get enough. The lasting power is good on me. When it gets to the base it is somewhat multivitamin juice like, but still very exotic and lush. If you like sweet perfumes you'll love this as well. It tickles my nose and makes me more hungry than I am.
P.S. Is not similar to Tahitian Holiday, I've had two bottles of that, not at all.

I find Born in Paradise to be sweet and soft, and I get a lot of watermelon over anything else. I can see myself wearing this for the upcoming summer, but I'm a little hesitant because I can get sick of coconut very, very easily, and there is definitely a piña colada flavour that stays throughout the entire wear. So as much as I find myself loving it, I'm going to have to be careful if I do decide to purchase one.

ninius

Disgusting, so sweet I can't take it, makes me feel physically ill.

bluemel

girl look like LANA DEL RAY:)

Annah7

It is a pleasant fragrance reminding me of holidays in tropics, however it is a little bit synthetic smelling. I am not going to buy it, but will use it whenever I see it in the store.

stephanienwc

Reminds me of Hawaii <3

Edit: Now it smells like expired pineapple cocktail...

velveteenbloom

Smells like a paradise of sipping pina coladas! :> Not my kind of thing, but for those who like the Hawaiian glam frutti-tutti of beaches and sunny seas, it's perfect.

P.S. I only just read the official description of the perfume while on my way to write this review - so I know I seem to have repeated a lot of what they already said, but these were my first thoughts (uncannily, now that I think about it!)

CHOYÈTTI

I fell in love at first and used this for a month or so... Now I still kind of like it even though the coconut makes me wanna throw up.

Not the best fragrance in the world but if you want something nice-ish for the summer season, this is one to try.

jenny.victoria.5

I loved it, it reminds me of the hotel in Disney world, Polynesian.

Mama-lola

very nice and cheap shower gel :)

sisanirg

I thought this fragrance would be worse. Smells just like virgin Piña Colada but without that creamy-milky sensation. In the store the shop assistant told me it reminded her of chewing-gum.
I m not sure I'd wear this but maybe i will give it a try in summer again. I've ordered a free sample from Escada's website two weeks ago but I m still waiting for it.

iLoVeTHe80s87

Wow I really love this fragrance. My all time favorite Escada fragrance is Pacific Paradise or whatever it was called. But this is so similar (to me at least) that I looove it! I want it! I loooove coconut! I'd love to smell like coconut all day. It would remind me of being on a tropical beach and make me so content. I like the cool watermelon scent of this. and the delicious green apple. and the delectable (delectable?) coconut with sensual sandalwood. I will definitely be making this part of my collection this summer.

Arlene-Beatrix

Huge disappointment, cause I usually like summery Escada editions.
To my nose, it smells just like fruit salad. And after couple of minutes, it smells like coconut milk. Can't smell anything more, to be honest.
Born in paradise or bathed in coconut milk? That is the question.

genny17

Well more of the same, different bottle. Same fruit cocktail scent. Tropical summery, uninteresting to my nose.. I can't say it doesn't smell nice, neither is it any different from lots of others Escada ..Cherry in the Air was more interesting IMO!!

Jcnna

Wow, this is already in Finland! :) I ordered this one at web store. It came yesterday (?). I'm in LOVE! The bottle is so beautiful, I like the color and flower ring. The smell is so delicious!

Gegauff

When I saw this in the store I was super excited as it had pineapple and coconut in it, and I've been looking for a coconut fragrance for ever! However, after getting a sample and wearing it for a few days I've come to the conclusion that it smells like a cheap shampoo and the ONLY note I can't seem to find in it is coconut...very disappointed.

emelim

I want this one:)

evacecilias

Ok, here we go...
Got this sample today a rainy, grey day.
I was at a departement store lurking around the perfume counters,
teasing myself- cause I am really trying to stay a no- buyer for
quite some time ahead now..
When purchasing something else the salesperson snagged this into my plastic bag and said...wanna dream about summer a day like this ?
I wonder if it said perfumeomaniac on my forhead or she had read my thoughts ;-)

First dab, first smell - fresh , VERY sweet as almost always with these flankers.
But....whats that vibe ???
Its..........La vie en belle, or Si Armani but fruitier ?
This doesn't meen to be a bad remark, they are both lovely it's just what my nose picked up.
Well , this fresh sweet strong punch ,punches you in the face but tones down and becomes more girl cologne candy sweet.
I was struggling to find coconut and the pineapple, but effortless.
Sadly this is quite linear. Its sweet , tangy juices and pinapple syrup sweet
but I don't find the roundness or freshnes for a coconut punch type of scent.
I like sweet scents yes - but this lacks some ingridients needed to get me to wanna buy this. I will try the sample some more , but will let go of the dream- the dream of ever falling for the escada summer flanker. No , this doesn't win my heart either and that actually dissapoints me, cause it started of good !
It is cute as said - sweet and will win a lot of of other hearts but
This is something , I'd rather drink actually...
If you love the type of scents I ' ve mentioned it is certainly for you to build yourself your own idea of 'born in paradise'

ashandasphodel

A fun spritz for summertime, something I'd wear for an afternoon of shopping or a trip to the beach but that's pretty much it. I think any more than that and it'd get on my nerves. It reminds me of the mid-90's Victoria's Secret Exotic Bouquet. I have a feeling that if it were a beverage, it'd be delicious.

charlottesmom

I love summer, I love the scents of coconut and fruits, this is THE perfect summer scent, will be buying a bottle in April. YUM!! I second every word of chrissyc's review. :o)

chrissyc15

One word.... "SUMMER" ... if you could bottle summer and put it in a bottle it would be this fragrance. I spritzed myself with this at my local Sephora and smelled it all day long while I was shopping. It is a GEM! I will definitely be buying this and wearing it for the summer time.

The pineapple and coconut remind me of laying out on the beach. There is a slight hint of musk and cedar that are extremely far in the back .

"Laying out on the beach in a wooden chair just soaking up the beautiful sunlight!"

jewel.wido

This stuff is no where near as good as other more recent fruity Escada scents. This is a very young teen smell that doesn't even last that long...

Bluehonda

Smells like an umbrella drink. Pleasant and summery, but more like shampoo than perfume. Or maybe suntan lotion. I get coconut, pineapple, and sweet. Not for me but you might like it.

ellapage

I was blown away today when I already saw this in two different department stores here in Finland! New perfumes almost never get here this quickly so I was pleasently surprised. Naturally I almost ran to smell the tester when I saw Born in Paradise bottles at the perfume counter.

I feel like I need to test this some more to give a more in-depth review, but what I can tell from testing Born in Paradise once, is that it is indeed tropical and very delicious! Coconut is quite strong in this one, which is great for me since coconut is right up my alley! I like the blend of sandalwood, coconut and pineapple in the dry down. I was almost certain I could smell mango, and I was pretty surprised to see that there's none of that in this perfume. The lasting power isn't the best, but I only sprayed this on my wrist once and it lasted a decent amount of time.

Summary: If you've loved Escadas previous tropical/fruity/sweet summer scents, you'll propably love Born in Paradise as well.

CHOYÈTTI

I thought I would love this at first but now that I've used it for a couple of days my opinion has changed.

Firs of all: it doesn't last long at all! In less than 2 hours it's totally gone.

The fruity notes disappear 99% once the fragrance dries on your skin.
The coconut is too prominent and "powdery".
It reminds me of cheap cosmetics.

A disappointment, on top of it all I bought the largest, 100ml bottle

almarie

Very pretty scent! However, it's very similar to Escada's other limited edition scents.

charlottesmom

I have to admit I have never smelled an Escada scent and I've only smelled this on a strip but jeeze does it smell good! I will hunt this down and skin test it, I hope it smells just as good on skin as it does on paper (some do some don't). This would be an excellent summer scent, I love coconut and that is the main note I smell. Going to Ulta asap to give this a spritz.

Edited to add: duh, I have tried Escada scents before I liked Magnetism, though that one did smell better on the paper strip.

Lettukestit

Got a much awaited chance to sample this today! Very coconutty, too much for my tastes as I get headaches from notes that are too pungent. In an hour it lessens though, and I believe the watermelon notes begin to appear, which is nice, but then it just becomes a nice scent that lacks the "oomph" that I try to look for in my fragrances. Unfortunately the lack of speciality and the initial hour of strong coconut is too much for me so I will pass :(

almarie

Just beautiful- No other words to describe it!

Lola-sweet

its nice but smells cheadp i dont know why!

naomigirl11

I tried this in sephora today and I like it. I sprayed twice on my wrist and I could smell the coconut and watermelon as I was shopping. On first spray, I could smell the watermelon and the coconut but the coconut was a bit more prominent and stayed for about 2 hours and after that, I could smell the sweet watermelony plum scent come out. It lasted for quite a long time; I could still smell it on my wrist 3 hours later. The dry down reminds me of Britney spears's midnight fantasy but not as intense.

Irinka Popova

i'm sure that this will be perfect for me because all the fruits inside are my favourites!!!definately A MUST HAVE...i hope that BORN IN PARADISE will become my signature for summer 2014..ohhh i can't wait!!!

Already available in tax free shops, so as a person who is collecting all Escada summer editions i had to have it naturally.

The very first spray is very yummy, blast of exotic fruits with a most promnent note of pineapple and guava, but within several minutes it transforms into a fresh coconut and watermelon mix. I don't smell much of the pineapple after 15minutes. Smell mostly strong coconut base.

Not much going on in here actually, the sillage is actuall quite soft and lasting power is quite good, almost 7hrs already ( but i have sprayed more than 5 times on my wrists). Slightly dissaponted at the moment, but since it is not the most propriate time of the year to wear this scent ( we have snow where live at this moment) i say i'm not giving it a fair review.

Guava, watermelon, coconut- if you like them, go for this one. Refreshing and is back to Escada traditional summer scents roots from the post 2002. Surely will be another bestseller, but for me "Taj sunset" and "cherry in the air" still had more character (not to mention the oldies from 90´s). I can´t smell much similarity to the Britney Spears´s "Island fantasy", just one moment betwen opening and middle stage it slightly has a resemblance, thanks to apple note which lasts only a shortest while, but that´s it.

UPDATE: 3 hrs later it becomes almost the same as the "Marine groove" and "Pacific paradise", same identical base: sweet and exotic.

UPDATE (later in the evening), the staying power is actually quite good, 5-6 sprays are lasting and lasting, maybe becasue it is cold outside and skin is no warm and not "eating" perfume, but i´m impressed actually. I get full 10+ hours

xVal

I love watermelon aquatic scents, tempted to try it!
The bottle is gorgeous <3

Sabrinah

its limited~ okay, Im ready for this one~

Allegra

I'm mad about anything turquoise so this one does it for me, definitely. What a lovely bottle! Fruity-aquatic content sounds fun and flirty and delicious which makes it the perfect summer frag, at least in theory ;)

LunaPearl

Guava AND watermelon... I like!

mimi_luvz

Escada always has great limited editions! Hmm, so far the only watermelon perfume I have and love is D&G's L'Imperatrice 3. I hope Born in Paradise is equally good, can't wait to try it!

beauty_girl

With those colors i had hope that it would be some delicus coconut and some sweet sugar in it.
I guess i maybe then can layer it with my vs mist i have at home that contains beachy coconut and sugar cane.
