A nice summer scent that I would wear if I was mulling around the house. Not special enough to wear outside for me but that doesn't mean I don't like it, there are just lots of better options.

YellowFluff

The coconut is SUCH an important note for this scent; it balances out the sweetness perfectly. Great summer scent and incredible sillage. I know this one will be a compliment-getter.
It also smells sort of fruity to me and I am not sure why since there are no fruits in the notes? Hmm

elenagr22

This is a quite decent designer perfume!

Sweet vanilla/coconut with a touch of white florals. Not heady or cloying, perfect for summer both day/night use. It is classy and airy with just the right amount of sweetness. A safe blind buy.

I prefer it to other popular summer fragrances (Soleil Blanc, Teraccota etc.) as it is slightly sweeter, sexier and less white floral based.

PS. There is no comparison between this and Black Opium

Kjkoni

Take this review with a grain of salt considering that I am NOT a fan of white florals, as I am extra sensitive to any notes of that nature. Anyhow- this is a VERY floral scent, I do not pick up on any coconut or vanilla or amber or sandalwood to help balance the florals here. All my nose can pick up on is a very typical designer floral scent. Nothing even remotely beachy.

Perfumespeaks

Pretty fragrance, I like to pair it with fruity fragrances to get more of a summer and vibrant feel. However, there is not longevity with this fragrance. Within 2 hours it was gone from my skin. For that I give it a 2/5 , smells nice, may last longer on someone else !

Fragrantica strikes again with a random list of notes that doesn't match the notes on the official website. For those to whom the accuracy of the pyramid for EDP 2019 is actually important:

Top notes: Italian Bergamot, Ginger Extract SFE, Mandarin
Middle notes: Indian Jasmine Sambac Absolute, Creamy Coconut, Frangipani Petals
Base notes: Vanilla Absolute, Cashmere Wood, Captive Musk, Amber

XxRosexX

This smells a it could be a Black Opium summer flanker, the most similar one probably being Black Opium Illicit Green, but it's no where nearly as strong and doesn't lasts a fraction of the time BO and it's flankers do. That might be desirable to you if you are trying not to be noticed or want a sheer summer scent, but if you want bang for your buck, I would say that even if you enjoy the smell of this slightly more, think about how much more you are paying in sprays to match the same intensity of Black Opium and flankers. Just for reverence, the tiny strips I sprayed with Black Opium, Black Opium Le Parfum, and Black Opium Extreme a week ago still smell significantly stronger than the full Estee Lauder card I sprayed with Bronze Goddess earlier today? If having a lighter version of BO isn't your prerogative, save your money.

I love this fragrance so much, it gives me such a free spirit and girly vibes, like dancing on the beach and laughing with a tanned skin bikini and little Cover Up skirt

nofacedbeauty

This was AMAZING! I feel like a mermaid in the tropics—very beachy vibes! This scent is giving very young carefree woman suntanning on a yacht while listening to "Could You Be Loved" By Bob Marley. This smell reminds me of that song. It's a fantastic buy! I got it from an Ulta sampler box, and I fell in love on the first sniff!

CrissyCK

A nice summer scent, subtle sunscreen vibe but blended well. Tropical and vacation feel! Not the best of the tropical/sunscreen scents, but's it's a great contender.

Shimmer412

Beachy, gorgeous, and elegant! One of my favorite warm weather fragrances! Bronze Goddess gives off the most beautiful beachy vibe! I really love the coconut and Tiare flower notes in this and how they stand out! It has a really pretty sun tan lotion scent only better and more chic! It reminds me of Bobbi Brown Beach (which I do love!), but I think it’s softer, more sweet, and more elegant! I truly adore this one!

I’ve owned this for years and rotate it regularly during the warmer weather months along with Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Replica Beach Walk, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, JHAG Lust For Sun, and JHAG Vanilla Vibes! I think it fits in quite nicely with these others I mentioned! They’re all similar and beachy, but have their own uniqueness!

I get great performance with Bronze Goddess! The longevity is excellent, it lasts the entire day on me! The projection is great too, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me!

Sunscreen and sandalwood.

roxhas123

Baffled how people think this smells like black opium. Nothing like it whatsoever. Bronze Goddess has a slight grandmother vibe to it. I wear this to work. not overly keen

RubyMint

Smells like those cheap car fresheners with the fake coconut scent. Nope nope nope. It's just so heavy and synthetic, I can't imagine wearing this on a hot summer day.

Seranity

This took me completely by surprise. I had seen a few reviews, and it was generally well liked and positive, so I tried it at a store recently...OBSESSED! So a full bottle was purchased and I haven't looked back. I'm not into coconut fragrances usually (the odd exception like Alien Goddess Intense...interesting coincidence in the name) but this is just gorgeous and by far my fave. A perfect mix of vanilla and coconut with a touch of white flowers makes this a gorgeous tropical and bright fragrance. The dry down is where it's really at though. That smooth coconut and vanilla blend makes it edible. It's just delicious. I had sprayed this on one chilly morning while still wearing my dressing gown and the next morning as I put my coat on again, that scent just wafted out like a welcoming hug. Haven't worn anything else over the last week since. I'm even happy to say this could be a signature scent for me. Its not a long lasting fragrance on the skin, maybe a couple hours, but it is on clothes. Like it's hard to wash it out. I don't mind though 😍

ilikesmells

This is absolutely my favorite perfume fragrance ever!!! It was gifted to me for Christmas and I've been obsessed. It smells very warm cozy and feminine. I get hints of vanilla and amber and coconut cream. Personally I dont see this as a "summer" scent. I see it as a year round scent, even great for cozy winter nights.

rene.saller

I was expecting this to smell like Tom Ford's tribute to Azurée or some grand notion, and instead it smells just like expensive sunscreen. It's not the worst smell in the world, but it's slightly insipid--maybe I wouldn't have felt that way if I hadn't been expecting some kind of Azurée connection, on account of an origin story I read on Bois de Jasmin. Oh well. I get strong coconut, strong vanilla, a faint whiff of gardenia, and that's about it. I do like the smell, but I also like the smell of Bain de Soleil and other classic sunscreens, and those are exponentially less expensive. Don't get me wrong: this is an appealing scent; it's just not as good as any number of other, less expensive classic Estée Lauder fragrances--including, but not limited to, the oft-mentioned Azurée.

rachelv

Initial smell is warm, citrusy, and coconutty. It reminds me of the sea and the beach, on a summer's day, but it doesn't smell like sunscreen to me - maybe because I've never used any type of coconut scented sunscreen. Then after a few hours, the coconut fades away, and what remains discernible is the warmth and citrusy element, and an element of fresh soapiness. It never veers very sweet smelling for me so the vanilla/amber doesn't appear strong for me. It never gets headache-y for me, is really pleasant from the start to finish. I really enjoy this fragrance. However, longevity isn't very strong for me either. After the first 4 hours, most the fragrance has gone. It's nearly winter now and spraying this on when I go out now adds a little bit of summery warmth to my mood. A lovely, warming smell.

Lorinica

NO LONGEVITY!!! But there's something really nice about it. I've read all the reviews before blind buying it and first of all longevity and projection really suck. But I found it on a discount and I wanted to have it so here we are.. I would agree with people mentioning that is reminiscent of Black opium but I prefer this one, has that exotic/coconutty twist. I get vanilla, amber, coconut, a slight hint of tiare flower and that's it. Where I live it's late autumn with mildly cold weather and this doesn't shine. But when I wear it at home with central heating on it develops into sweet coconutty, vanillic, ambery type of fragrance. Looks like it needs a warmer climate. No sunscreen vibe in this one in my opinion but I imagine I could wear it on summer evenings, it radiates kind of a warm, tanned, well hydrated skin vibe, like you've just put on a luxurious body cream. It's creamy, sensual, sublime, sexy but more of a seductive sexy than into your face sexy....

Comparison to Jimmy Choo Rose Passion: kind of same family ( beachy scents) but totally different fragrances. RP is fresher, more floral with way more pronounced tiare/frangipani. RP is lighter, less creamy, less coconut with better projection and longevity. RP reminds me of Tom Ford's Orchid Soleil ( I don't own Soleil Blanc so I can't compare with that one) but fresher. Orchid Soleil is denser and creamier than RP but those two are similar while BG is different from both of them

Comparison to DG dolce Garden:
Again kind of same vein but totally different scents. DG is heavier with more pronounced coconut and florals. It's denser, waaaay better projection and longevity. DG is a bomb while BG is more on a quite/skinscent side ( eventhough I have edp not eau fresh skinscent). But both are warm scents, DG is a lush garden full of tropical goodies, and BG is a luxurious, slightly coconutty body cream.

EDIT: I almost haven't been using it during winter months so after 5 months of maceration I can really say there is absolutely no longevity.... I got it on a discount for 50 €/100 ml but I tell you it's not worth it. I adore this fragrance, I'm obsessed with it but staying power is ridiculous. I get 30 minutes out of it with 18 sprays.... I really prefer this one over Black Opium, this coconutty vanillic exotic vibe is to die for and I bought it eventhough I saw reviews regarding poor longevity. In fact it's not only poor, it's almost nonexistant. Save your bucks and treat yourself to something more valuable

Bodie001

I wanted to love this but unfortunately the Amber takes over and it becomes to heavy for me. I don't really get the Tiare flower or Coconut which is a shame. I don't find this to be a tropical summer scent. It is pretty generic to my nose. Maybe layered with Eau Fraiche might work.

Moon Lion

How does this compare to the sadly discontinued Sensuous Nude? I loved SN, so of course, they stopped making it. I live an hour's drive away from a shopping center, so I am unable to just stroll in and sniff. Thank you.

mmng99

I really wanted to love this. I smelt it about 2 years ago at David Jones or Myers and LOVED it. It smelled coconutty and summery. I never bought it though for some reason and it has just come up in my memory again recently. I looked at the reviews on here but thought it can’t be true lol. I purchased a bottle and was so so excited to smell it again. I sprayed it and it smelled like I remembered, delicious. It’s actually the top notes that keep me wanting to spray more. Its sweet, has a hint of sunscreen (in a good way) and I can smell the coconut and tiare. And then the dry down.. It’s very much amber and sandalwood with a hint of vanilla but no coconut or tiare. I wanted this to be my everyday scent and I thought it would be perfect for summer but it’s not giving what I thought it would give. Personally, I probably wouldn’t wear this in summer cause I have the feeling that it would accentuate my B.O lol. It is still a beautiful fragrance and the dry down reminds me of Black Opium a little bit. Might just be me though. If you are looking for a beachy, tropical, coconut scent, this sadly ain’t it.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

Bronze Goddess is a very likeable and beachy fragrance, but she's not an absolute love for me or full bottle worthy in my book.

This fragrance is a bit too woody and vanillic for my tastes personally and I really wish that I could smell the coconut and tiare flower in this perfume more strongly. It's slightly too ambery for me too. I do smell the tiare flowers and coconut moderately though and I admit that I do love that part of the fragrance!

Sillage on me was moderate its wear on me was slightly more than moderate, lasting on my skin for about 7 and a half hours. My skin luckily seems to make this perfume last longer on me than most people on this review page!

I could imagine this fragrance being great for a woman to wear during the day and during the summer, especially when one is on a tropical beach vacation at a tropical resort.

So because of all of the above, I'll give this perfume a very respectable 7/10.

honeybunny1977

Bronze Goddess exceeds any and all other summer fragrances I own. I try to use up others like Hibiscus Palm and Coconut Vanille but its Bronze Goddess which I prefer every summer. I am guessing that the sandalwood in the base grounds the other tropical notes which keeps it from being cloying. Its the overall fun, beachy vibe which I love. I dont get any vintage vibes like others get. I do get a very slight soapiness in the dry down which I enjoy. I think this one either works well on your skin or doesnt. I have just ordered a back up bottle since it seems the perfume world is getting a bit upredictable and since this one always makes me smile in summer time I always want to have it on hand.

Elfin Will

Totally agree with Xela_529. There's something vintage I detect in this fragrance which was a turn off for me. I was expecting a tropical coconuty monoï type of scent and was a bit disappointed... plus, I barely smell the coconut! :(

6/10

Xela_529

I like Bronze Goddess, but I don't think she's a true tropical fragrance. My nose interprets her as a light amber/vanilla scent. There's something slightly vintage going on here as well. I can't seem to put my finger on it but she reminds me of a perfume my aunt wore in the 90s. I wish I could identify which fragrance I pick up on. But it's definitely not tropical. It's like a warm, fizzy amber, not too floral, but also not too heavy, she's on the lighter side.

I think Bronze Goddess could work on summer nights or fall days. I don't think she's for everyone, so I suggest trying before buying.

aleckzandurh

It smells like a woman walking by you when you enter a hotel lobby in Vegas. She's tan, wearing something gold and glittery, and ready to have fun this weekend.

It's a nice enough scent, but I can't shake the association. I'm not that woman, nor do I want to be lol.

Mimithenoynoy

I do not like it in the summer, I do not like it in the winter so I do not like it.

imegaphone

I agree that it's reminiscent of Black Opium, the vanilla, the cloying thickness, ugh.. pass. It's just too loud and in-your-face. It's like Black Opium on vacation, without the coffee note. I liked it on paper though, so test on your skin and clothes- that's where it shows its' true colors.. Also it has a metallic note, which just smells dirty to me in the drydown. Like as if you were holding on to metal railings all day long in public buses/subways on a really hot summer day and somehow that gross metallic scent stuck to your sweaty palms, ew. It doesn't smell like a bronze "goddess" at all.

HannahRosesAreRed

I come from a land where summer lasts at least half the year or longer. In the heat of the California sun, tropical scents get more usage year-round, so having more than a few is a plus. Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess is one of those fragrances–a simple, clean and straightforward tropical-vanillic fragrance that blooms nicely in the heat. It's a nicely blended perfume of pleasant, likable notes–tropical white-floral tiare, gentle amber, milky coconut and gourmand-sweet vanilla, tamed by sandalwood. It's as foolproof a combo as they come.

Unfortunately, Bronze Goddess is hampered by its less-than-stellar longevity. On my skin, it vanishes after three hours, especially in the heat. It's unfortunate, as it's such a lovely and pleasant, crowd-pleasing fragrance and I can't imagine this offending anybody. I think I will be getting good use of this, but I don't think I will repurchase–like so many summer lovers of the past, Estee Lauder is a one-season memory, but a very happy one at least.

Gemini12

Starts out very tropical with the tiara and coconut being dominant. As it dries down the amber and woods emerge and it becomes more sweet, warm and creamy. I know it's not in the notes, but I swear I detect patchouli in the drydown. I'd prefer this on summer evenings than during the day, but that's just my personal preference.

sakecat22

Straightforward jasmine coconut sunscreen drying down to an amber with a hint of Estee Lauder's signature base.

A good introduction to the Estee Lauder line if you have never tried them before.
If this wears well on you, and the base doesn't go sharp, bitter, or "grandma," you have a fighting chance with the others.

katiesimpsonhair

This smells very warm sweet with amber and vanilla. It reminds me of something I’ve smelt before I know now realise it’s like YSL black opium, in the sense it’s heavy thick vanilla base is like Bayleys Irish cream.. I’d class this as a heavy sweet winter scent and not a summer fragrance. I like it, it’s rather yummy..

Beacon631

This is a fave for summer alone or layered with other fragrances. (Try with a coconut scent). Squirt more for nighttime. Less for light coverage. It has a light spicy suntan lotion vibe. If you like Summer fragrances then this should be in your collection.

Ilikewhatilike

Was recommended that this could be a fun beach scent but this was way too feminine for me.

mika4305

It smells good at the start, but once the top nodes recede it smells like something a grandma would wear, my post soviet mom put it this way "reminds me of Soviet parfumes, they smelled like soap" and I agree the base is not vanilla at all its leathery and woody

I wish it smelled like the start all the time, the start is great best way to describe is sexy coconut, unfortunately that lasts 5 minutes and leaves you smelling like a soviet grandma

clairedaloon

I bought this fragrance in the Summer as I was recommended it as a good coconut-y sun cream summer scent. However, when I first put it on I was really disappointed as I couldn’t detect any sun cream scent at all and the coconut, whilst noticeable, just wasn’t as prominent as I hoped. On researching this fragrance I then realised that the fragrance I should have bought was the Eau Fraiche version. (I mean I’m not surprised I got confused, even searching here on Fragantica there seems to be several different versions of both the EDP and Eau Fraiche, with differing notes).

I have just revisited this fragrance again today after not wearing it since the Summer just gone. I put it on this morning and was really confused to why I suddenly couldn’t smell anything, at all. I must have sprayed about 15 times and could barely smell it. I asked my boyfriend to sniff me and he said he could smell something but couldn’t detect any perfume but I just smelt fresh and clean.

It’s 6 hours later now and the scent has really warmed up and developed on my skin. Yes it’s still light and more of a skin scent but it’s developed into a very clean, fresh, slightly soapy scent that is a warm creamy vanilla. It smells lightly floral with some wafts and lightly coconuty in others, all whilst smelling fresh and clean. It’s soapy without smelling like harsh laundry detergent, it’s just light, airy and sweet, warm and coconuty.

I’ve surprised myself how much I really love it. The smell is so light but really intoxicating, I keep lifting my top outwards and putting my nose down there to get some good huffs of it. I wish it was a bit stronger as I doubt anyone who doesn’t have their nose pressed to my skin would be able to smell it. I have been thinking of what I could layer it with to enhance it, but I fear that it’s such a gentle scent it would get overwhelmed by anything else.

There are so many fragrances I’ve tried recently that I either hate or am ambivalent towards at first sniff but then they just dry down/warm up into something completely different that I love and this is one of them. I feel that this is such a great every day clean and feminine scent. The coconut isn’t too screechy for coconut haters and not too floral or soapy for those who dislike these scents but just a nice subtle everyday fragrance that you could wear all year round. It’s marketed as a Summer scent and maybe in the heat it comes into its own and projects more in the warmth but it works just as well now, in Winter. I’m looking forward to trying it out as we get into the warmer months and seeing what it does then, but for now I think it will become a very safe and pretty every day scent for when some of my fave fragrances like Angel, Lord of Misrule and Black Orchid aren’t appropriate.

solarpunk

i would say this is a more sophisticated and mature version of your hawaiian tropic/b&bw coconut sprays. the coconut in this is sweet, light yet creamy, the tiare is sweet and almost 'plush', while the amber is honeyed and deep. the vanilla adds more sweet & creamy accords. i think i should revisit this in a few years. very nice and i prefer it to Nuit which is quite dry and more floral.

my only gripe is the amber in this. i personally don't like ambers/resins in summer perfumes as they smell quite heavy and warm to me (i'm an amber lover in every other season!!). however, i think bronze goddess could be perfect for me in early autumn, when it's still warm and sunny but the leaves are starting to turn amber-coloured :)

saho93

This surprised me. I am not a coconut or vanilla fan. In fact, it turns me off. Even the name BG, reminiscent of the beach, suntan lotion, that all turn me off. However, I got to try from a coffret, and it was not bad at all. Very creamy and pleasant smelling.

I think it would be best to layer it with other scents to make it more complex. Still, nice on its own.

Sun_Bleached_Florals

This is what I imagine a Slim Aarons's photo would smell like. I'm not the biggest fan of Coconut and Tiare flowers in fragrances so I went into this not expecting much. I can't stand cloying and screechy beach scents, this, however, is very sophisticated. The Coconut, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Tiare, and Amber are married together harmoniously. I can't decide if I prefer the Eau Fraîche Skinscent over this. I almost think they would be perfectly layered together with the EDP as a base and topped off with the Eau Fraîche Skinscent.

perfume_infatuated

An elegant, pleasant, sweet, and perfectly powdery vanilla-amber scent, with mediocre performance. The top notes are citrus and ginger, reminding me a bit with Twilly d'Hermes despite the 180-degree contrasting directions. Florals are probably tiare, jasmine, and frangipani (because I learnt it combines the smell of coconut and peach, and peach is definitely there in the perfume). The solar note with its greenery vibe is most probably in there. The base is smooth, sweet, and shiny vanilla, powdery musk, coconut milk, lovely amber, and cashmere wood. This is perfumey, very Estee Lauder, and can easily ignite your deja vu, but not your imagination. As an impression, it's not necessarily for a day at the beach. It smells versatile enough, and not too committed to its tropical sunscreen concept. Many would believe I sound too weird saying this can be worn day or night, but that's how I felt about this one.

XOXO_marcel

I wanted so badly to love this, but it's mediocre. Nothing more, nothing less. It's purely a perfumey smell, like all the scents in the department store mixed together. I've defended other "generic" scents, but I just don't see a point to this one.
It isn't bad - it would be preferable to not wearing perfume at all - but I don't get any of the coconut, tiare, and vanilla that I found so enticing in the description. If I really focus there's a slight creaminess, but that's all.

Vanillagirlbx

I got this at a local fragrance oil place in NY (Exotic Fragrances if anyone wants to check it out - they deliver too). I didn’t love it at first but it definitely grew on me. It has such a nice subtle scent that feels so expensive and like I’m relaxing on a yacht. Definitely going to bring this on my Mexico cruise

shannon.simonson.17

I just received this after trying a sample. The sample was great, a very balance scent with some coconut in the top, a tiare that was creamy and addictive with no sharpness, vanilla Amber and sandalwood. The juice in the full bottle is just straight up vanilla (and believe me I double checked—they were both 2019 eau de parfum). I didn’t need to spend that much money for a plain vanilla fragrance. That is what I have body spray for. I hope I am just noseblind. If anything changes, I will update but I am really disappointed because the sample seemed like a dream come true.

Edit: it was not my nose. I am returning this. Going to try the eau fresh.

mychinarose

Today I’ve layered Bronze Goddess Whipped Body Crème with Jean Patou Sira de Indes edp and Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Bananae and it’s this wonderful tropical concoction. I’m totally in love! I smell like a coconut cream pie with bananas and whipped cream!

umayy

i've just received bronze goddess and at first sniff, i fell in love. it is the summer perfume that i've been looking for for a while. i smell coconut, vanilla and jasmine. yeah it is a little similar to terracotta by guerlain in terms of jasmine but i hate terracotta bcs it just smells to me like cheap white floral hand soap. if you like mild vanilla, white floral and coconut; it is blind-buy safe perfume for you.

Melissadiane

I love this for summer! It’s beachy without being sunscreeny. To me it reminds me of my skin that has been soaking up the sun on a tropical beach. It has a bit of that warm sun drenched skin vibe to it that I love. It’s a warm but not heavy fragrance. I definitely get the tiare and coconut with vanilla.

If you like warm fragrances then this is a perfect and easy summer fragrance. I don’t know how one couldn’t like this!

Gems84

Going off of the notes I was excited for this as it encompasses everything I love. Before purchasing I had read many reviews and it seems to get a mixed reaction. For me this is a hit, it was everything I wanted and more. I get the coconut, the vanilla the Amber and on my skin the dry down is beautiful. It’s got great sillage and staying power. I can’t wait to wear on vacation! If you like gourmands and the notes are your vibe, don’t let the negative reviews put you off.

pink gallery gal

This is a great summer fragrance. I find I need to pair it with a fragrance oil to extend the longevity.

I also believe it pairs so well with vanilla vibes as they are both for me “summer in a bottle”.

The lasting power is short but don’t let this deter you as it’s a beautiful scent and I believe worth having as either a layering combo or as a summer “can’t decide what to wear” scent.

wondervalley666

Opens similar yet very different from Black Opium. Similarly rich, syrupy, with a vintage perfume vibe. Different in the actual notes. Where BO is predominantly vanilla and coffee with a strong cashmere note, BG is orange liquor, rum, and a barely there coconut I can't honestly say I'm able to detect at all, but I feel is probably in there. I cannot believe for one second the note pyramid here on fragrantica or on the Lauder site is correct. The notes listed here are the notes I look for when buying scents. I own so many with those notes. There's no combination of them I've ever been surprised or confused by. This smells nothing like any of them.

To me, Bronze Goddess EDP smells like orange liquor - contreau, triple sec, or gran marnier, mixed with a tiny dash of coconut spiced rum. Add a bit of boozy vanilla to give it a slight “orange creamsicle” vibe, super rich but it isn’t sugary gourmand at all, this is the vintage perfume version of that note combination not the "lick me because I smell so yummy" gourmand others might want. If you added a fruity/cranberry note to this perfume, I believe it would smell like a stale cosmopolitan left out on the bar from the night before. I used to bartend and I cannot break the association with liquor/cocktails with this scent. I have worn many perfumes that smell boozy or alcoholic or have liquor notes in them, this is the closest to actual booze I've encountered. I bought two full bottles because I honestly thought the scent had turned after sampling the first-it doesn’t exact “smell right” like most other perfumes. Makes me think of a grandmas old bottle that sort of still smells right but not something that screams “spray me all over your body!” Despite this, I definitely sprayed all over my body, and now for the performance-

Terrible. For me, the performance is ranked as one of the worst 10% out of every scent I've ever sampled - and I've sampled a lot. Weak, faint, intimate, and short lived. This is extremely hard to detect 30 minutes after application. It’s still “there” but it doesn’t project and you need to heavily inhale directly to smell it. It completely vanishes from skin in 2 hours, maybe 3 max but the last two hours it's a very faint intimate skin scent only. It leaves a spilled drink orange liquor scent on clothing for a few days. If you wear it in the sun/heat, it lasts 1.5hrs max. I had to reapply 6-8 sprays, 4 times in 7 hours while doing light gardening on an 80 degree non-humid day where I didn’t break a sweat. My clothing smelled nothing like this fragrance after my evening shower that same day, even though at least a quarter ounce of juice had been sprayed on them. My spouse said he couldn’t smell my perfume at all the entire day, even 10 minutes after I reapplied for the 3rd time. I could smell it a little bit on dirty laundry as long as I didn't wear those clothes outdoors or in the sun. The sun kills this scent and makes it evaporate completely very rapidly. It’s strange as this seems like it would be too cloying to wear in the heat, but since it disappears, it doesn’t choke you out. Overall it’s a really badly designed fragrance with terrible performance and a weird attempt from the manufacturer to change the scent without informing customers (as noted by the numerous reviews on other sites asking why their new bottle smells nothing like the one they wore for a decade), mislabel notes, identically bottle different scents, put a small eau fraiche label on the longer lasting scent and put an EDP label on the perfume that works like a body spray. I sold my EDP bottles, the scent was not likable enough to justify the price, and the performance made me feel like I needed to try to get my money back asap. I actually ended up buying black Opium for the first time instead, as the performance is so much better and it smells like a proper perfume compared to this. I also decided to stop sampling Estee Lauder - I have ended up SO disappointed with the performance and longevity of every Estee Lauder scent I've sampled lately. This includes lines EL owns under different names. They're all so watered down, so overpriced, and 75% of the actual fragrances I've sampled over the past few years completely grossed me out. The only EL scents I would repurchase are Aerin Hibiscus Palm, even though that only lasts 2-4 hrs max and is way overpriced, and the Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche, which is a completely different fragrance that has nothing to do with the EDP.

I LOVE the Eau Fraiche skinscent, it’s one of my favorite fragrances to wear alone or layer. It is faint yet somehow the EDP is at most, half the longevity and projection of the skinscent. The skinscent is slightly coconutty sandalwood with lemon top notes on me, and it’s weird yet perfect and I own many backups. I see a lot of people complaining about the performance on the Eau Fraiche as well, and while it isn’t a beast mode scent, I wear it all the time, it lasts 2-4 hrs on my skin, it layers well and gets stronger and longer lasting when you layer it. If I apply before bed, I wake up smelling like sunbaked sandalwood and citrus, so it has much better lasting power than the EDP. It’s very unisex. The eau Fraiche is perfection. The EDP is more like a college students first attempt at designing a fragrance, and they did it when they were very drunk. I highly recommend the Eau Fraiche. I don’t recommend the EDP at all. Even if you like the fragrance of the EDP, the performance is so bad, and it is not cheap.

Caseystewart64

This is a beautiful perfume!! But do not get confused this is nothing like the Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche skinscent, if your looking for the sunscreen beach smell that’s the one you want! This one (the EDP) is a warm sweet amber smell I actually would wear this in the fall and winter

maziarzl

Such a disappointment! The scent is lovely, I feel like I am at the beach. But within 30 minutes I can’t detect anything. Bummer.

HenrietteM

Strong resemblance to Black Opium for sure!
In my opinion not a beach scent. Maybe not even a summer scent. Warm and ambery.
Still gorgeous though, just not what I was expecting.
(Got both the BG EdP and BG Eau Fraiche Skin Scent and they're nothing alike. )
Projection and longevity good.

gerli

It starts with strong floral notes which quickly fades and on my skin I smell slightly spicy coconut. Very warm fragrance but not sweet to my nose at all, I get no vanilla from this fragrance and I am a gourmand lover. Generic suntan smell of spicy floral coconut. No resemblance to black opium to my nose and I own both. Great for the beach since it's not strong but not what I was looking for.

seliko

this is so dense… how can people wear this in summer and not choke, i don’t understand unfortunately… i see the potential, however in the summer heat it’s unbearable! maybe if you like summery vibes all throughout the year, but then again i don’t know if it would give a similar effect in a winter climate. so far i have only tried this on paper but i had to put it away. i see people mentioning a noticeable amber note so i’m excited to try it on my skin and see what it turns into.

marily

This fragrance is just summer!!! Beach with waves, fresh air, sun. Bronze and salty bodies and many coctails!!! Very joyful scent, summery and beachy scent!!!

PumpkinVanillaCoffee1992

I got this in a sample size for Christmas 2020. I waited til summer 2021 to use it and from first spritz I just fell in love!!
Once I started I couldn't stop...i wore it everywhere....day and night. It didn't take long to use the bottle up.
And the heat just does something to it - illuminates it, intensifies and refreshes it!
I would describe this scent as equal parts coconut, vanilla, tiare flower and amber.
I would also describe it as similar to Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber but crossed with coconut. Though lighter and not as cloying as Sensual Amber.
Now every time I sniff my (empty☹️) bottle it has me nostalgic for hot lazy summer afternoons spent visiting my grandmother and drinking Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee...and sitting on the porch with my son counting the number of boxcars together as the freight train thunders by...
I'm very much an Autumn girl but this perfume gets me so nostalgic for heat and lightning bugs and twilight strolls around town...
So many perfumes give me a headache but this one, surprisingly, does not.
This is one I would repurchase, no questions asked, and would have no problem going through an entire bottle.
I would consider this 1 of my 2 signature summer scents!🥥🍦🌼 (#2 would be Heiress by Paris Hilton for a lighter, fruitier summer scent.)
Since I love this one so much, I would also love to try some of the other Bronze Goddess perfumes!

herculano

Got a sample.

I didn’t want to believe this wouldn’t be a concentrated, stronger version of the fraiche, but it’s true. It’s really not the same fragrance as the fraiche. Like, at all.

I’ve never smelled black opium however I’ve read many reviews for it. This does smell like the descriptions I’ve read of black opium.

For one thing this is VERY sweet and definitely gourmand.

What I smelled immediately and very distinctly is ANISE! I am sure it’s not in the notes but for me, this literally smells exactly like candy coated licorice anise seeds.

It’s the way the notes combine here, I guess.

Not what I was looking for.

Glad I only got a sample!

Had this been marketed as an ANISE scent from Italy I would probably be intrigued and want to buy it. But it’s not really what I am looking for right now.

The fraiche is far better if you’re looking for a beach fragrance, however I stopped buying it long ago because i resented it being a skin scent.

EDIT:

The dry down IS better. Now it’s starting to smell like sweet suntan oil (there’s an actual oiliness to this in the dry down, at least in the way it smells.) I like it far better as it evolves.

Still sweet, though. And I am still not sure it’s what I was looking for.

An hour later, this is REALLY reminding me of pure XS, sans the popcorn note.
I already have that.

All in all, an unremarkable scent, in my opinion.

EmeCé 81

This is beach in a bottle! Warm Sun, Sultry Air, Salty Water, Sweet Pinacolada under a palmtree. Suntan lotion on the skin and turquoise sky. I love it for summer but keep craving on winter time specially after several days of snow and chill wind. I Actually prefer this to more expensive ones like TFsoleil Blanc or Replica beach walk. You get all the Beach vives, the virtual trip to the caribbean, the exotic flowers, the Sun hug, for a decent price. 🤷🏼I got a full size bottle to trade if interested DM me. US only.

itsmeirem

this exactly smells like how i wish guerlain terracota smelt like. More warm, more coconuty , not sharp instead of Terracota. Terracota is more suitable the ones who likes more fresh and flowery perfumes. I admit that It s more seated than bronze goddess . Despite bergamot and jasmine in terracota makes it more opulent i still prefer bronze goddess. EL Bronze goddess is more feminen and beany at the same time. So, in summary if you are Gucci guilty, chanel chance kind of girl you might prefer terracota as coconuty perfume. But if you are warm but not sugary and not owerwhelming kind of girl like me you are more likely to like bronze g. :)

laceylovesperfume

This is vacation and summertime in a bottle. While it does give a "sun tan" lotion essence, it's blended beautifully with vanilla and sandalwood. Every time I put this on I am filled with happiness only the sunshine of summer brings. It's just a delicious scent. I've had this in my collection for years and is a summer time staple.

sopelka

This is screeeechy and suffocating. I agree it is similar to Black Opium, which I also can’t properly process and appreciate. Coconut? Vanilla? I sense none of them. I love the idea of a suntan lotion scent, but this is not it. 😞

PeridotVanilla1

This smells NOTHING like vanilla and coconut . It is strong and head ache inducing . All I get is amber ! Definitely think people refer to the Eu Fraiche version when they talk about "creamy coconut and vanilla" . The Eu de Parfum version is NOTHING of the sort. It is a STRONG and mature scent with lots of amber. Not for me.

antoniov

I have this one, it's my go-to summer scent. It's not too overwhelming, light, it is just right for these hot summer days when you want to wear sth to go out for dinner. I feel though it has become overworn by others so I'm on the lookout for a new and unique summer scent

CatieK

I love coconut but coconut unfortunately does not love me. I have had so many coconut fragrances including Dolce Garden, Angel Iced Star and Versace Crystal Noir and they are awful on me. Finally though I have found Bronze Goddess EDP. It does have a similar vibe to Black Opium and I really detect the ginger in the opening (check out the full list of notes on the Estée Lauder website). It is not a sunscreen scent, if that's what you're after you need the Fraiche Skin Scent (tried this too and it was no good on my skin).
On me the EDP is almost gourmand but more complex than your everyday coconut moisturiser. Yum, this makes me so happy!

ACBCNTW

Does anyone know if this 2019 version is the same as the 2017 version? I have the 2017 version and I really love it, I would like to know if the 2019 version is the same (just new pack) or they actually changed the juice or being reformulated? Thanks.

Lavandermilk

I love this. It is a "sun tan" fragrance but I am a sucker for a coconut scent in the summertime. The first time I smelled this was in the lotion form. It was more than id usually ever spend on lotion but I literally could not stop smelling it. This is so soft and cozy to me. It is like taking a mid-afternoon nap in some beach side bungalow where you're wrapped up in one of those huge knitted blankets. Sometimes coconut scents can be headache inducing or overly sweet but this one is just right.
Unfortunately I feel like the most recent version doesn't have the same longevity as past years. I would not mind buying a full sized bottle of this with the current longevity if the price was more on the mark.

tiamaf

I honestly didn't like it. The dry down had some weird plastic smell to it and the coconut was very screechy.

The perfume was also very thick and dense. I didn't feel like it would be something to be worn in summer especially in high humidity weather.

LSAUG

This is the suntan lotion fragrance for those who want a suntan lotion fragrance but you don't want it to smell exactly like suntan lotion. I know that sounds like an oxymoron but that was what I was looking for. It smells tropical but sophisticated enough to wear just about anywhere and anytime during the summer months. The vanilla, tiare flower, coconut and sandalwood are perfectly blended so that none of the notes overpower the other. It's just a pretty, and very tropical blend. This isn't as floral as Brazil Dream or as fruity. This is creamier, just like a suntan lotion w/out being one LOL.

karinatfragrantica

It is a nice and uncomplicated coconut-vanilla scent. Not tropical per se. Depending on what your association with cocnut is it can lean more gourmand than beachy. It is not light or airy but rather creamy. Sillage and longevity not so bad. For me it is one of the few coconut scents which I find suitable not only in hot summer weather or in a beach setting but which are more versatile. Although I basically like it, I do not reach for it often. So I will use up the bottle but will probably not re-purchase.

Definitely love the Azur version more which has a slightly aromatic angle to it and reminds me of a high-end spa.

Laila C

Indoors I get cafe latte. Outdoors I get pure coconut. Funny how a slight breeze can change things! Like but not love. I wouldn’t buy a full bottle I don’t think, not even for summer as we don’t really have a mega hot summer here for very long and it’s the kind of scent that needs super hot weather (and probably more dry heat than humid?) to really shine. I also live nowhere near a beach either. I’m closer to green pastures and woodland, so my surroundings draw me to a totally different type of scent to this. That said: if you live by a beach somewhere really hot, love travelling or you have a year round tan then I can totally see this being a good fit.

@alexandrakara
I find your review extremely insulting towards women. Like I always say, there is a classy way to express your dislike of a certain perfume, without offending anyone. There is a certain population of women out there who enjoy being called bitches, milfs, etc, but most women don't refer to themselves in those ugly terms and take it as an insult. I happen to be one of them, and I think there are many women on this site who know that unless you can respect yourself first, nobody else will. A perfume is not a sign of desperation, a want, or a need. It's a personal taste and a window to your soul and memories. Smelling a certain way doesn't make you desperate to be something you are not. It's a ridiculous statement to make.
I am 47 and I do wear Bronze Goddess, along with countless beachy scents I collected. The reason that I wear them is not that I want to be 20 again. I am quite content being 47, being married for 30 years to the love of my life, being a mother, a daughter, a friend. There is only one reason for me to wear Bronze Goddess and similar perfumes: the fact that I have seen neither a sea nor ocean in 30 years and I miss it so much, that I dream about sinking my feet into the water and wake up crying. Wearing beachy, salty scents transports me to pre-war Croatia, to our sea vacation home which is long lost and memories so beautiful that I can only preserve them via scents.
Sometimes if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all.

fgamz

I have layered this with YSL Libre Intense and it smells amazing!! A dark vanilla coconut scent blooms, very summer! It warms YSL up and gives BG a bit more of a personality, because honestly it falls a but flat and generic to me.

This is a warm coconut summery smell. I also get quite bored of it. But layered with YSL is amazing!

lady_ireth264

Bought this a couple of months ago and like it enough but I've grown bored of it now.
On me it's pretty linear coconut tiare and a bit of amber. Nice and summery but not interesting enough eventually.

rachelsedge

ETA: I am replacing this one with the Skinscent. I sampled the Skinscent version of this and I like it WAY better. Feels less mature and heavy. Decluttered the EDP from my collection.

This is not a love for me, but it is a like. I do not care for the initial spray - it comes off a bit... mature? It's heavy, sweet, a bit sharp. It does remind me a bit of Black Opium in the opening, as a few others have stated. I can't quite figure out what notes are causing that. However, once it settles down into the skin, which doesn't take long, it becomes more of the "Bronze Goddess" that I picture. This is more "beachy" than "tropical". Don't think fruity drink on the beach while wearing a swimsuit and a sarong in Florida. Picture a toned, tanned woman, confident and classy, wearing a white dress at a beach resort in Brazil in the evening. Warm amber and vanilla, with a hint of coconut. A tiny bit of creaminess from the sandalwood and a bit of freshness from the florals. Based on my description you'd think I love it. It's not a bad scent. Just not my "type" of scent that I prefer to wear.

I don't picture this being liked by younger crowds, but it's a classic scent. I can see where the suntan lotion scent could come in, but I don't think it's in a bad way. I think it is quite well executed. Longevity is pretty terrible, so I do have to refresh through the day. Unsure if this will be in my collection long term, but for now, it's fairly enjoyable.

MsFaith89

I blind bought this scent and I’m definitely satisfied with my purchase. The longevity was 6/7 hours on me. You are able to smell it at least a arms distant away. The coconut/sunscreen smell comes out within 30 mins of being on. It doesn’t smell cheap or plastic like on me. I also paired it with my bom dia body butter and it was perfect for the 85 degree weather today.

AnaMaria97

This was not what I was expecting at all, I would not describe this as a beach fragrance in my opinion. I get 0 coconut, one of my favourite notes, I do get mainly white florals, musk and a dry vanilla.
I really wanted to like this because I love the Eau Fraiche and wanted a stronger edp version, sadly this is not. Not a safe blind buy!
Edit: I tried it again in store after I sold my bottle and yes, this smells very similar to Black Opium in the opening.

pamplemousse2

**FYI the notes listed here are not what is listed on their site, these are the notes in the Eau Fraiche Skinscent. Their customer service says that "Bronze Goddess Eau de Parfum is a sultry scent that's wrapped with creamy notes of Praline and Caramel creating a luscious and addictive fragrance. It continues to offer the signature Fresh Coconut found in the original Eau Fraiche scent, but Indian Jasmine Sambac Absolute gives it a more solar, textured intensity. Cashmere Woods, Captive Musk, and Amber add warmth and Vanilla Absolute was added to the Powdery Vanilla note to create a rich, liqueur-like effect."**

So I read somewhere that whenever people refer to loving Bronze Goddess, they're usually referring to the Eau Fraiche Skinscent, not eau de parfum. I put this on expecting a beachy sun screen-y super summery kind of smell, but was surprised it started with almost a sort of generic, weaker Black Opium-ish opening, that didn't scream "summer!" or "beach!" to me. It was a bit heavier and sweeter. I could smell it within about 8" of my skin though when I first applied. After a minute or two, there was a bit more coconut that came through, and just a tad of 'sunscreen'-iness, but still mostly a lot of generic sweet opening. It's not "bad," it's just not what I was expecting and was planning on bringing the sample I had on a beach vacation, but I'm not sure if this is what I had planned exactly. It's got a bit more sweetness and warmth to it as well.

After about 5 minutes, it's gone down to about 3" of my skin I can strongly smell it, but it's a lighter scent. Even though BO doesn't have that great of longevity, I felt that it at least strongly projected for the first 20-30 minutes. Though if you do want something lighter than that, with a slight coconut twist, then this would be a good choice.

It's been only 10 minutes and I smell it within about an inch of my skin, after doing 4 sprays on each arm. It's still lighter and lost a lot of sweetness. It does now smell just the slightest bit more sunscreen-y, and like coconut, but without much sweetness associated with it. There's almost a bitterness or plainness associated with it. It's not really 'wow' too much to me. Just an unsweetened coconut.

20 minutes later and I was thinking about how I wasn't getting any tiare flower (this was before I found what was written at the top of this review). It definitely is jasmine and does have some slight solar aspect to it. It's also a skin scent, and needless to say, also doesn't smell like Black Opium anymore. It does feel more 'happy,' but I do think kinda denser as well. It might be the musk and some woods.

30 minutes later and it's like a clean fresh musky vanilla amber coconut scent, but I will say, again, the coconut is very much on the lighter side. I do see a similarity to Crystal Noir, too. I could see this scent as a sexy, sensual summer night fragrance though. But again, it doesn't really project. I don't mind this scent actually now. But again, not exactly what I expected and wanted from this.

40 minutes later and it's a very light skin scent I feel like I need my nose to my arm to smell and it's hard to pick much up. It's a lighter fresher but slight richer scent like before, but I'm not getting too much when I smell. I also, again, did 4 sprays on one arm, 4 sprays on another. I'm not sure how many more I'd need to smell stronger.

Regardless, I'll still see how long this lasts.

50 minutes later, cashmere woods comes out a lot more and is pretty.

2.5 hours later and I have to admit, I have kind of forgotten I had this on because I haven't been able to smell it. If I put my nose, again, directly on my arm, there is the faintest woods scent. I would imagine though that if you *didn't* put 4 sprays on, the scent would be completely gone by now.

By 4 hours, I no longer smell it.

ProfoundAroma

Coconuts all right . I hate that note on perfumes makes them smell cheap. This smells like how the jersey shore crowd would smell. Also why would you want to smell like sunscreen? That’s the vibes I get from this

CarmenW88

This is such a gem to me. Absolute love at first sniff! I have been eyeing this one for awhile now but didn’t want to blind buy in case I didn’t like it, however, I stopped by Ulta today and someone had accidentally left a sale sign up so I got it discounted and figured today was the day! I have zero regrets. This smell magically transforms me into a 125 lb beautiful, slender, tan, “bronze goddess” (in my mind, anyway haha). The name is very fitting, in my opinion.

The smell of this transports me to a secluded island with coconuts and the scent of tropical flowers in the breeze. I don’t get any creamy suntan lotiony smell (which I wouldn’t be opposed to if I did). It’s not a “clean” or “fresh” beach smell. I also don’t get citrus. It’s pretty, simply put. I can definitely smell the similarities in comparison to YSL Black Opium - but to me BO is great for cooler nights whereas this reminds me of a day in the sun.

Great longevity and silliage without being overpowering and smothering. I have found my summer scent! I really did not want to be curious about the skinscent version but I love this so much it may be worth checking into as well.

carlahoffman

Not sure why Coconut is listed as the top note for the first thing I smell is Bergamot and Orange a pretty citrusy opening. It is bright and cheerful makes me think that summer is here with warmth and sunshine! Then moves in the pretty floral scents making this a feminine fun loving scent.

It has a decent projection that is pleasing to your senses and those around you, it's a pretty scent that lasted 6 hours for me before turning into a total skin scent. Enjoyable creamy vanilla with a light musky dry down. A fun, playful, scent perfect for warm weather honestly is working good in this cooler weather day or night.

Kahiola

Best summer fragrance, so beautiful, happy, beach feel perfume. Eau de fraiche version is nothing next to that. Definitely super super great perfume.

citrinemalachite

I blind bought a bottle of the EDP because I thought I was getting the one from last year which is fresher, but it’s this newer sweeter scent. This isn’t really the kind of scent I’d like to wear in the summer as it’s too heavy and sweet but it isn’t bad. This really does smell like Black Opium without coffee and with coconut instead. Also reminds me a bit of Ariana Grande Cloud. I’m a little disappointed but I can still see myself wearing it at night. It does seem to have good sillage and longevity.

Zethre

EDP - utterly gorgeous, sweet honeyed spice, reminiscent of Bvlgari Goldea, and a fabulous winter scent for the build up to xmas, almost gourmand.

EDT - utterly gorgeous, hot oiled tanned skin on a fabulous beach holiday, coconut and tiare flowers, sensual and stunning summer scent.

I love both but they are two entirely different perfumes, I really don't know why they gave them the same name and bottle!

asined1595

This is my first bronze goddess, I expected her to be more intense with more stamina, after the first spray she is distinctive, but very quickly she stabilises and I perceive only flowers lightly with coconut. I can imagine her on vacation even with a stronger application from morning to night, therefore she was created for the summer, the truth is that the identity with The one is there. I also own a skin set where the coconut smells much more and is much airier.

lady_ireth264

My newest duty free purchase!
I'm drawn to it's sweet creamy scent. It reminds me of Crystal Noir slightly.
Though CN is much more unique. And this is perhaps a mainstream coconut perfume compared to it, but still lovely.
I miss going to the beach and this is a nice reminder and hope for more bronze goddess days on the beach.

The tiare is slightly heady at first spray but then it calms down to a lovely sweet creamy coconut. Enjoying my full bottle.

Celestialjewel

Your quintessential sweet, creamy, tropical vacation in a bottle scent. A coconutty, tiare flower-vanilla-amber guilty pleasure for lounging on a sun kissed beach...........I'm not complaining, we all need to indulge sometimes ;)

Callista25

Generic mainstream sugar floral with suntan lotion.

Markellam92

I think this perfume is exactly what its name says Bronze Goddess.. on my skin it has a weird almost plastic smell that I was very bummed to smell (I blind bought the big bottle because I wanted to smell like a summer coconut dessert) But on my best friend who has dark skin smells divine exactly like a sweet coconut dessert! We tested it with her sister and mother and again it smelled amazing on their skin!(slightly different because every skin has its own chemistry)There are some perfumes that have an amazing performance on certain skins and I believe that one works wonders on dark skins, on me it smelled awful but on my bestie it has an amazing performance and she gets a lot of compliments every time she wears it

Cheems

This perfume is a bit linear on me, vanilla and Tiare flower are the main notes in here and remain throughout the whole time. I only catch a whiff of the coconut very occasionally.
This perfume smells like a crowd pleaser. Nothing too special, but I enjoy smelling it. I only spray this spray this on my clothes though, because it smells flour-like on my skin. Although it’s too reminiscent of a regular body spray for a more high end perfume, it’s cute on a summers day.

Kswhittaker

I think it’s absolutely gorgeous when it’s hot! But I also wore in in November and it’s quite nice and still lasts a good amount! It’s very coconuty
I personally adore coconut so I love this fragrance too!

f_celia89

I'm currently wearing this.. Its been hot and cold here in Australia, but I initially bought this during a really hot and humid weekend, it worked well. On me the smell is warm but fresh, I get vanilla and coconut, with something else, maybe the tiare. The coconut smell though is not a cheap scent you get from the shops, it has an almost rich coconut cream smell to it. I feel like it could have done with a bit of ginger or pepper, something to make it have a bit more personality, but I have to admit its a safe buy and I like it :) but I don't love it. It's something casual and inoffensive, someones signature scent, sure, but not mine. I don't think this would turn my husband on, like I said, its a casual fragrance and not sexy.

It smells golden, sparkly and shimmery, 'Bronze Goddess' is probably the best name to describe this scent. It smells expensive at times, but sometimes it smells cheap, like it could have been a body mist from the Body Shop or BBW, but maybe for an exclusive one time scent and only VIP members might have access to it. I have seen the comparison to Black Opium, I have Black Opium and I like this better, the coconut seems to just fit perfect for me more than the coffee, in which I think could have been stronger.

I like the dry down, I smell the amber with the sandalwood, its light though, not too woodsy. Again, it smells expensive but just a tad basic. I wish though they would have picked a better model for this, a mysterious, exotic, dark haired caramel skinned girl. Not a Euro girl with a tan -_-

NataliNatali510

Oooooo, this is a summertime staple in my fragrance wardrobe. It just puts me in a vacation frame of mind. I get exotic white florals, coconut, and vanilla. A touch of amber. The effect is sweet and sultry, reminiscent of faraway lands and, yes, suntan lotion. Love it! This lasts about 1 hour before it is completely gone, but, frankly, who cares? Just get a big bottle and spritz away.

I have an extra full bottle of the EdP to part with. If anyone wants the 2019 EdP, PM me.

To weigh in on the EdP of Bronze Goddess, this is a completely different scent from BG Skinscent. No matter what the often-uninformed Estee Lauder counter salespersons tell you, the EdP is 100% different. Even if they swear on the life of their pet chicken Lulu, do not believe them. The skinscent is the one that the hype is all about. The only thing that is the same between the two scents is the crap longevity. Lol!

erinnute

I'm a huge fan of the skinscents in Bronze Goddess (particularly 2010/2011) and I bought this thinking it would be the same only stronger - it's not. It reminds me of Si or Black Opium, it has alot of vanilla and amber, and I only detect a hint of coconut. The amber/balsamic/musk notes don't sit that well on my skin and feel too heavy. Still a nice fragrance in its own right but not similar to the skinscents and not for me.

weepoorsoul

Aloha summer vacation.
Throw it in your suitcase and wear it day and night.
In a formal work place however, it may be a little out of place as it smells like Hawaiian Tropic. I definitely think the coconut and vanilla dominate. You could just eat it up! It has sillage to spare and remains detectable on clothing for days.

Blue_Lilac

Nothing special. Smells very generic and basic, like the scent of a women's fashion magazine containing multiple scented ad strips or the perfume counter at a department store in 1998. It's pretty boring. Actually, it reminds me of YSL Black Opium, a perfume in which I hold the same sentiments. It's sweet, not so much in a gourmand style, but in a perfumey way...if that makes sense. If I had to guess, most noses would find this fragrance safe and inoffensive, however I personally take offense due to its cloying, unbalanced nature...something about this doesn't seem well blended and I feel like I'm stuck in a shopping mall with a fragrance induced headache dying to get out into the fresh air. In contrast, the eau fraiche skinscent is amazing, skip this and stick with the skinscent.

pennyligeia

Disappointed, all I smell is amber. I had thought this might be a stronger version of the skin scent; they are nothing alike.

Tmty192

Honestly I’m disappointed, this smells VERY reminiscent of black opium by ysl

acason

A great fragrance for summer. This makes me think of suntan lotion, sand, and hot weather. I think this is appropriate for casual wear. I think you could get away with wearing it to the office as it’s not offensive or overly aggressive in it’s silage. I’ll be wearing this all summer.

TigerLily677

First thought when I smelled this; sun tan oil and hot weather. It is not a bad fragrance, it just isn't my type. It does hold for a while because I sprayed it inside Macy's around 3pm and it's now midnight and I can still lightly smell it on me. My car definitely smells like it.

The BG line is becoming rather confusing with all of the bottle designs and flankers. The eau de parfum is very much a dusk or night time summer scent for a night out. Intoxicating, richer, sexy, etc. Similar in many ways to other popular perfumes at the moment. I think it needs more of the vibe from the Skinscent. If they'd just added a touch more orange blossom, tiare, or coconut and less amber and vanilla. It does seem to be holding up and on it's own. I will give it that... when many summer perfumes are fleeting in the heat.
Update: My husband is currently mowing the lawn and texted that he could smell my perfume. I have not been outside, so on this particular day (the last of summer) it has incredible sillage!

SO so easy to wear. Great sillage! Pretty good longevity too. It's warm-summer-night-summery... after a day at the beach, or on the ride home...

It doesn't have any loud citrus which makes it unique to me as a summer fragrance. The bottle is gorgeous.

It's delicious and makes me feel pretty and feminine but not annoying.

Very much an underrated crowd pleaser.

Unique, sweet, a little gourmand-y.

This is my first Bronze Goddess perfume and I had big expectations because I like EL perfumes. I bought it on a vacation and I have to admit I don't like it because fades away after a few hours. The scent is nice but I expected a light, moderate holiday fragrance but it lasts like a body mist. I'm disappointed.

Beautiful beachy suntan lotion smell. So creamy and yummy. Love it.

Am I crazy or does this smell pretty much exactly like lasts year's Bronze Goddess EDP release?? I excitedly blind bought it thinking I was going to be getting a totally different fragrance from last year, heavy on the coconut, but I was sadly disappointed because I don't really notice a difference... At all. Everyone is talking about how you can smell more coconut and vanilla and how this one is so much better but... I have both of them and when I put one on each wrist they are legit identical. I'm so confused why everyone thinks it's so different and why the notes listed above are different? It's the same fragrance!

Beautiful perfume! Really beautiful. I also have the bronze goddess Eau fraiche which is also very nice with a summer vibe but Eau fraiche is more fresh, airy and citrusy. But this beauty is creamy, sweet coconut creamy but elegant and classy at the same time. It's also very sexy and feminine in my opinion, I feel like that everytime I wear it :) Sandalwood is also obvious for me although the note it's at the bottom here blending with tiare beautifully. I found it on discount and could not miss it. The most elegant coconut I have comparing with my other many coconut scents. This one is the best.

I love this edp version so much better than BG edp from last year. This is so much more creamier, vanilla coconut but also with a burnt sugar vibe, maybe it’s a deeper sandalwood? I’m not sure but I love it, I bought the 100ml bottle. By the way, the bottle is beautiful, heavy glass and very classy. This is a real winner for summer.

Bronze Goddess has such a strong positive reputation, that I decided to see what it’s like! Well I am very impressed! The vanilla and coconut are the dominant notes and are done very beautifully. A strong secondary player is the amber. The amber grounds the fragrance and makes it very classy. This is a beach fragrance that can be worn into the evening and can also be worn away from the beach! I love wearing this fragrance on its own, but I also love to layer it with Guerlain Terracotta. In Terracotta, tiare is the star and when it mixes with the dominant coconut and vanilla from Bronze Goddess, the combination is stunning!

That is true there is a new edp. It appears I was misinformed by Estee Lauder last week as I specifically asked about the new edp. Thank you to the member (dannysmom) that said that nordstrom carries it. I just ordered it and hopefully it will be a great perfume. It's a blind buy but I'm hoping it smells as delicious as the new eau fraiche.

Edit: I just received it. I have to say I don't like it. It smells to me like Dolce Gabbana the One and a little bit of previous versions of BG edp. If you own the one you don't need BG and vice versa. Personally I prefer the eau fraiche version much more breezy summery and delicious.

This is definitely a new EDP version of Bronze Goddess. The eau fraiche version is also being sold in this style of bottle this year too, but definitely two versions. I bought this at Manchester airport. It is sweeter than the original version, has lots of vanilla and coconut and less floral to my nose. I'm a bit disappointed as I thought it would have a bit more silage than the original, but it's still very soft and stays close to the skin. Smells lovely and seems to last a bit longer.

There is definitely a new edp. Look at Nordstrom.com. It is already being sold.

I tried few days ago and I did love it soo much! It's more long lasting, strong and white flowers which melted in coconut milk are more dominant now. Summer dream...

cherelune

Looking at the notes... I WANT THIS SO MUCH! I hope it becomes available locally, but not of the previous versions of Bronze Goddess ever were, so good luck on that!

Nice updated bottle.
