This is another rare instance, like Jaguar Gold Edition, where car manufacturers release stellar, long lasting fragrances and sell them for pennies. Like the other comment below said, "Thank You Ferrari".

Initially Silver Essence is almost oudy, more balsamic and pungent in character with some spices for flair, then settling down to woods, powders and a vanilla type coconut that hums and lacks alot of sweetness. No doubt, it's Italian, with that Felce Azzura, musky, powdery vibe going on.

Like driving a Ferrari, this fragrance is an exhilarating experience. I am imagining, one swipe from a jungle oudh would send this Ferrari into redline and go from silver to take the gold, no doubt.

It is discontinued and relatively pricier now, but well worth the price if you can still get it under a $100.00.

hamid77perfume

nice and gentle for me i feel happiness with this beautiful scent
thank ferrari🌝

Ronron216

High quality. Good longevity. I get about 9 hours on my skin with good projection in the first 3. The overall scent is semi- similar to Visit. But in my opinion Silver Essence is spicier and more dense/ woody. Overall, when it was priced at $30-40 before it was discontinued, I would say YES it would be a great purchase. But now that people are charging over $100 online, I would say PASS. Unless you can find it for under $60. 🤷🏻♂️👍🏼 Just my opinion.

Read reviews before buying a fragrance, but take them with a grain of salt as well. Everyone has their own opinion regarding smells. Some people love it. Some people hate it. My advice is for you to get a sample of ANY fragrance before you ever buy it. That way you can assess it for yourself and have your own thoughts, rather than strictly going off of someone else's thoughts and opinions.

I agree with the commenter below. The fragrance has a slightly sweet, soft, coconut, cinnamon, and leathery aura, but the dry down is dark, and the woods become prominent. I consider Silver Esscence a formal fragrance that is great for daytime or night time use during the colder months. Cooler air radiates the smell of the fragrance, causing a dark and loveky sillage. I like it. It smells great.

Osmin

Although I do agree that it has similarity to Azzaro Visit, ie. the incense note, it is much closer to Arpege Pour Homme albeit not as sharp opening. It has slightly sweet soft leathery aura like cookies in a leather box. Projection is soft but be ready to have people sniffing your trail. Not everyday scent imnho.

ObsessedJoydjay

I wouldn't describe it with anything related to 'gourmand'. It doesn't smell like sweet pie or cookie.
A spiced coconut version of Gucci Rush Men.
The review below mentioning Armani Attitude is on to something right. It does remind me of less sweet Armani Attitude minus the lemon.
Diesel Only the Brave Wild is not really close to it due to the sweet citronella coumarin.

Used to cost just $30-$40 for 100ml in 2017..

Td23

To review below.. Wtf man

Otherwise the fragrance itself is great, compliment getter and most importantly it is unique.

If Azzaro Visit is a sexy mature and hairy womanizer in his 50s, Ferrari Silver Essence is his little brother in his 30s who's also sexy, but he's bisexual and just like his big brother he isn't afraid of anything. Or I might be wrong and he's just his son who he never met.

They are both hard, but don't last too long.

It's a unique sexy woody spicy fragrance that's a little bit sweet.
You could call this a sweet /version flanker of Visit.
It's doesn't smell like coconut(fantasy note in this case) whatsoever, but it doesn't even matter because there are only few bottles left around the world.

Perfumers are Nathalie Feisthauer and Bernard Ellena.

Blind bought this back in 2018. It grew on me. So many compliments wearing it. Very similar to Leather Essence with more coconut. Managed to snag an extra bottle off Ebay, but hard to find these days.

Man...I love this stuff. I blind bought this a long time ago and thank god that I did because it is impossible to find. This is winter in a bottle for me and I absolutely adore it. I just can't stop smelling my arm!!

DiegoWalberg

Something amazing about Silver Essence that I respect and adore. One of my current collection that I bought blindly.
Is it recommended? Yes
Will I repurchase? Nope. Because i got plenty of other KIV list and totally not because its not good.
As Fragrance Head & Perfume Collector, this should be added into collection because its unique, affordable cheap price but smell expensive. I bet this Silver Essence is a bit difficult to get nowadays.

stephen.redeker

It's great to hear everyone's opinion. But the guy below me? Looks like a few hundred people voted quite the opposite of him. Probably more than 90% either liked or loved it, by the looks of it. They must have no sense of smell at all, huh? And good luck finding the big bottle of this for $20 nowadays. That's because most people don't think it's a "cheap disgusting mess", and it's been discontinued. Just a hunch. Thanks for the insight.

michaelwarming

Anyone have a 100ml for sale or trade? I can’t for the life of me find a place to purchase anything else than the 10ml.

red_d

I don't own a lot of fragrances and the ones I own are all designer. I like to test a few before I make a purchase.

A few months ago I had few on my test list and this was on.
I tested quite a few that day, a lot of the popular recommended fragrances. This I tested purely because it was available at a good price and the reviews and notes seemed curious.

After testing around five scents that day this one was just stuck with me and I couldn't get enough. The first thing I did when I got home was order a bottle.

It smells SOOOOO GOOOD. .
It's not overly done or too serious.
Its warm, spicy, comforting and reliable but not overpowering. The coconut is there but you will only know its that if told so and then it won't go away, its gentle wafts together with a light almost slightly fresh spiciness. There'also some woods and slight smokiness.
Definitely orginal and unique but in a good conservative manner.

Performance is also great and lasts a full working day.
Projects decently for a few hours then sits closer.
Great as an office scent for autumn and winter but I still find myself reaching for it as we're into spring.

9.5/10 (only because I haven't tested every fragrance out there to determine if it's perfect)

If you get it at a discount price it's a no brainer. Actually considering getting another bottle incase it gets discontinued.

Madalins

Very woody, coconut is very subtle and only on the drydown. Reminds me quite a lot to Dior's Fahrenheit especially on the opening. It is a good smell, feels more of a winter scent. I'd like it even better only if it had more noticeable coconut without changing anything else about it. Overall a great quality smelling scent. Very woody and gasoline on the opening but the drydown changes into something that I particularly love.

scentitar

A Metallic coconut fragrance that is very modern, interesting, but smells kind of dull to me. I see why people people love this, it does have a modern and even professional feel. It is smooth, but the vibe of this fragrances isn't for me.

5 to 7 hours longevity, soft projection, decent sillage

Rtiggs

Are you kidding me? This is one of the best bang for your buck colognes out now.

A mix of incense, coconut, spices and cedar and it's outstanding and interesting.

A winter or cool night fragrance that lasts forever. I put this on at 7am and it's still blasting a great scent at 4:30pm. Two sprays behind the ears, one to the chest and one spray to the wrist and tap both wrists.

This is definitely not for the younger crowd. It's a mature scent, not old man mature, but you have your stuff together mature.

The nose behind this scent did a few for Amouage. Maybe this is one that they decided not to go with, so Ferrari Picked it up. It's smells of super high quality ingredients.

Grab it before the price goes thru the roof. $22 on clearance at Fragrancenet.

chrisarcarola75

You could literally put this in a Tom Ford bottle and call it "warm busted coconut" or something sexual and silly and people would lose their minds. A steal at the price they're asking. Just go buy it!

klix27

I love this composition. Calming and smells expensive. Very long lasting but moderate sillage. I think it is one of the best in the range. Must buy bcoz itsvery cheap.

OntheMark

This is basically the same as Ferrari Leather Essence, but with a a dry coconut and incense twist in addition to what is a spicy-sweet-woodsy scent. Though this one doesn't list leather as a note, it's still almost identical to LE, possibly because LE really doesn't bring much if any leather to the game itself. Like LE, this one packs a nice punch and lasts a good long time.

There is another almost identical, dirt cheap gem out there -- Azzaro Visit. Think of AV as a lighter, more wearable variation of FSE -- that actually arrived on the scene almost 10 years earlier.

doccoflaco

Not much to say that hasn't been said already...I would personally wear this anytime, but I could see it leaning more to a night fragrance (dusk specifically). I'm rather new to The Game, but this is one of the more intriguing compositions I've encountered thus far. It's a bit sinus opening at 1st, but it quickly calms down into something mysteriously pleasant. A hint of sweetness without being so... It's Musky, Smoky, Creamy, Spicy, but indirectly, very well blended. Overall performance is leagues beyond it's asking price....... Also, it's presentation is rather well done. Nice color scheme, hefty bottle, recognizable look, sprayer seems decent, trim on cap is a great homage to their heritage

Nebby

This is nice. Odd though, it seems to go straight into the mid of coconut, patch, and lavender for me, with the base not far behind. I find the pepper/spice top notes appear later. That said, I'm enjoying the weirdness of this. The lavender is smooth and clean like L'Occitan; the patch dry but creamy, and a noncommittal coconut seems to drift in and out, being strong though when it's there.

I'm a big fan of smoky scents and the incense here is vying for top spot among the notes. But added to the Birch/Cedar leathery accord, the smoke becomes almost too much at times, especially when the coconut is present. This element dies down though after a while. The musky woods develop through the later stages reminding me of Stash and Graphite, i.e. very woody.

It's strength is superb - I put it on 4 hours ago, have just had a bath, and it's going strong as much more than the skin-scent many other frags would've become by now.

Yep, I like it. Not the most complex of scents, but is solid nonetheless. On my skin it's beautiful layered with Encre noir a l'extreme.

Edit -
I was asked about whether the coconut note was like suntan lotion and replied:
'On me there's only maybe the merest hint of suntan lotion, I wouldn't say this was tropical really. To begin, the lavender note muffles the coconut so that I get more the flesh of a coconut perhaps. The further into drydown it goes though a dry (patchouli) leathery creaminess suggests hot skin in the sun - skin that's had lotion on. It's a nice coconut, but interesting mixed with lavender.'

trabuquera

Another class vehicle from the Ferrari frag fleet! Really good, almost-niche, dry papery woods with some interesting aromatics adding extra detailing around the corners. Coconut isn't over-sweet or at all obnoxious here - it just mellows out the middle a bit. I could live without the lavender, giving a very slightly fusty edge to the overall picture, but it's not so dominant that it mows down everything else in the fragrance. Seems utterly unisex to me if arid, airy, not-too-dark woods are what get you cranked up. Strong, but not overwhelming projection; it lasts for an absolute aaaaaaage and costs pennies, so its perfumed miles-per-gallon rating runs very very high indeed. It's just one tiny shade too harsh and synthetic for me to want to buy it for myself, although I'd happily wear it any time. But then I'm a middle aged woman with niche taste... for anyone younger, bolder, male-er or on a tighter budget, this ought to be a done deal and one of the first cheapies to try, in search of supercar luxe at mini prices. JUST GET IN THE CAR AND DRIVE!

3 sprays on my forearm at 8:00 am on the same spot
at 16:00 in the same spot I applied D&G Homme Intenso - my office scent
At 23:00 i smelled the area and i Smell only ferrari
So has resisted for 15 hours on skin of the forearm
Of course skinscent
It radiates I think for 2-3 hours but i think sillage is medium
Smell is something of coconut mixed with incense but the drydown become more masculine and quite lovely
Is a unique scent good for dates - gives comfort and cozy.

chrisarcarola75

This reminds me of Kenzo Night which is a huge compliment. This is definitely a warm comforting scent. The coconut here is creamy not bright. It's smoky but not burning wood smoky if that makes sense? The quality to cost ratio here is outstanding as this performs very well in sillage and longevity. An amazing cool weather scent but I wear this on summer nights and have gotten compliments. This is a winner in my book!

atarilynx

Spicy Woody Coconut goodness. While I think this is a good fragrance, I can understand why it isn't for everyone.

Definite niche quality though...it makes its presence known. Try before buy.

EDIT: I put on Silver Essence today (Sept 14), and it fits perfectly. Also, the scent survived my grilling hamburgers for co-workers for an our at work (I basically was marinated in the smoke). I can STILL smell the Silver Essence on my skin!

This is really growing on me. The more I wear it the more I appreciate its quality and the unique blend of scents. It smells a bit like a coconut cream pie and a pumpkin pie had a perfume baby of wood. That is a totally good thing because it inherited all the best traits of its parents. I agree with others in that it shares traits with Quorum Silver and Equus...but I think this is better than both of those.

It can be worn at work, and can be worn during the summer and could even work in informal/formal evening events. More masculine than feminine

And let me say a word: To get a true perspective of the perspective of the reviews written here, you can click on the username and read what colognes/perfumes that reviewer has also reviewed, and what he/she likes. That way you can compare and see a positive or negative review in the proper perspective.

For example: I read a review below mine that was quite negative. It surprised me...but when I read the colognes he actually likes and some of the other reviews he has written, he has a completely different mindset that mine (I HATE vanilla in a fragrance). Many of the colognes he likes I have tried and dislike immensely...IMHO they are overhyped and overrated.

To each their own...we are all different. But its important to understand the perspectives of both overwhelmingly positive an extremely negative reviews to properly put the opinion in perspective.

I am not a fan of this fragrance.

Does it smell like a niche fragrance? If by niche you mean totally weird and unwearable, then yes, it smells niche! But besides smelling totally strange, it smells cheap. The fragrance oils have no depth or class to them. They are not quality. The smells are super simple and plain. I love it when a fragrance just fills my mind and body with a "wow" factor, regardless of the smell. Smelling this reminds me of smelling an Axe body spray or something. It's just so plain. Cinnamon, coconut and a weird smoky/woodyness mostly. Gross.

This is a huge avoid for me, and I reckon you should avoid it to. Unless you're like me and can't help yourself when a fragrance is only $17 and has a comments section like this one.

mikiud

It opens with similar vibes of TF Black Orchid then it develops in a rich woody, incensy way.I got no coconut at all though. Very impressed about the quality of this fragrance. It easily kicks the ass of the most of designers out of there. Performances are pretty decent.

Bigsly

The good: there's nothing about it that suggests "low quality," it's pleasant, and it's not expensive.

The possible bad: with two sprays to the chest it seemed weak, it's rather blended, and it takes a while to detect much.

If you want a "classy" scent that has a touch of an "older" masculine element (due to the lavender), this might work for you. However, if you want to detect most of the notes with clarity, I doubt it will be for you. It's not too sweet, and I can see a comparison to Armani's Attitude. Right now I'd say this is not a "must have" for me, due to having other scents in the general ballpark that I prefer and that are stronger. However, this might be a good scent for layering.

Yelken

A very comforting fragrance. The peaceful smell must be coming from cedar. In a couple of minutes, it turns kind of creamy,in a good way.I could not detect the coconut, pepper is soft, not disturbing. It reminded me somehow Amouage Honour Man.IMO from a decant of 5 ml, very good value for its price.Must try.

Biberin hiç rahatsızlık vermediği,rahatlatıcı, hoş bir koku.Belki de biberden dolayı bir kez denemiş olduğum Amouage Honour Man'i hatırlattı bana.Deneyip, biraz beklemekte fayda var sanırım her parfümde olduğu gibi.
Fiyat/koku güzelliği bence çok iyi. 5 ml dekanttan denedim, kalıcılığı ve farkedilirliği için net fikrim yok.

periquito89 Wow man, spot on! Just got this today and it IMMEDIATELY reminds me of Armani Attitude. Great stuff!

DrNDJas

Ferrari! Well done! This is a quality, intriguing, finely blended fragrance, so that I cannot pick out a dominant note. A lot has been said about the coconut accord and while it is present, it doesn’t dominate or turn this into a “coconut” or tropical fragrance. It does, however, give FSE its uniqueness and “wow” factor - woody, aromatic, spicy, creamy, and light dry coconut. I love it. Perfect for a signature scent, probably more mature than youthful, but so, so good.
When I first sprayed it on, something about it reminded me of a fragrance in my collection. I went through them all in my head- nothing clicked. When I got home, I knew what it was. Went to my fragrances and sprayed FSE on one arm and Quorum Silver on the other. Bingo. Notes both have in common: lavender, cedar, guiac wood, pepper, patchouli, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Seems to me like Ferrari got inspiration for the name and scent DNA from Puig, but gave it more complexity and warmth with added coconut, sage, thyme, musk, and incense. This one deserves any and all hype- different from the herd, average performance for me, addicting.

sulkyfellow

Excellent surprise after blind buying it. Very prominent coconut note, but not a sweet one indeed. This is a smooth woody & spicy fragrance backed by some musk and incense. Not unisex IMO.
Performance is not bad at all, it lasts over 8h on me, projection isn't huge after the 1st hour but people getting close will smell it. This smells quality and after Essence Oud, this is another winner to me, great for every day use, it's not offensive and smells quite different from your typical man fragrance.

Flyaway

Just one word-Amazing!

SheogorathWaldo

Also, who is the perfumer for this? I want to try more of their stuff!

SheogorathWaldo

Wow.

For under $50 (USD) you can buy this, and in your possession will be a beautiful fragrance with the complexity of Tom Ford's Black Orchid, the smoothness of Bleu de Chanel EDP, and the head turning novelty of Gucci Pour Homme II.

I was skeptical upon purchasing this: I had bought Ferrari Leather Essence and was underwhelmed. I shouldn't have been. This is one of the best fragrances I've nosed.

A strong, warm spice opening of nutmeg and cinnamon backed by a touch of herbality (from sage and thyme) and woods (presumably from the wood heavy base). Then the coconut pops out:

This is not a bag of sweetened baking coconut. This is not a coconut macaroon. This is the dried out, unsweetened coconut chips from the health section of the grocery store. Ferrari bought them, took them home and soaked them in unsweetened but creamy coconut milk. This has found its place alongside notes like the cardamom of LNdL, Vetiver of Encre Noire, Orchid and Tuber of Black Orchid, Gasoline of Fahrenheit, and Myrtle in Essenza di Zegna as my favorite notes I've ever smelled.

Now, take this dry, creamy coconut and blend it with a touch of sharp woodiness from the birch that blends with the incense in the base to make an almost birch-tar/tar note. Smoky, creamy, woody coconut. Holy crapoli it is beautiful.

In the base is the heavy hitting sucker punch combo of cedar and guaiac. Back this with smoky incense and fleeting ghostly images of the coconut. It remains creamy, off-sweet, and dry.

This is among my favorites now. I wore it almost a week straight, which is saying something since I often like to mix up the scent I wear within the day. I may dare to say this is the most satisfying sum of money I have spent on my collection thusfar. Get it, try it, I give you permission to blind buy.

talkaboutscents

WOAH! This smells quality and niche! If I had a blind test of Ferrari Silver Essence, my first guess would be this is something Tom Ford would create and shove it for 150+ euros.

First things first. If you don't like coconut and nutmeg, stay away. Ferrari Silver Essence does smell silver-ish in a way that coconut lotion leftover, salicylates on skin. I had my doubts, but thanks to all reviewers again this was a perfect blind buy.

It opens up with strong coconut-nutmeg, with a crisp woody-peppery note. I also get something metallic for a few minutes but not at all disturbing then scent turned into an amazing niche-smelling dry coconut-nutmeg wood bomb but it's never overpowering and cloying. It feels sweet but it's actually not. I think the wood notes here are very balancing the coconut, probably incense, birch or guaiacwood leading. It settles dry, and seems to stick to my skin very well but not projecting like a beast in cold right now. Since I am only testing on my forearm, I may need to update the performance later on.

Similarities to: Midnotes somehow Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid / Black Orchid but really toned down version with dry woods and strong similarity to Azzaro Visit in general!

Even though alone it's already a great scent, I can imagine layering this with CdG Wonderwood (for those who thinks WW is too dry and this can warm it up) or Lalique Encre Noire a L'extreme.

For 25 euros, Ferrari Silver Essence is a no brainer.

DinoCasino18

Just amazing. It manages to be unique and pleasing simultaneously; great performance as well. If you fancy dry, woody scents with a touch of smoky sweetness, this is for you.

cvaile

I am happy to chime in with those who call this a highly unique offering. The off-dry coconut, the incense combined with a rich spice mixture and a base made of a handsome blend of guaiac and birch backed up by supporting patch and musk put this one in an almost bizarre netherworld between the cool-weather woodsies and the warm-weather tropicals.

I wore it last night for dinner out and I kept trying to put my finger on this scent and failing - it's so intriguingly unique that I am now eagerly seeking as many of the non-aquatic Essence line scents I can get my hands on to see if they all provide similarly unique experiences.

To say I am impressed is an understatement, what a brave jump into highly creative perfumery by Ferrari.

Buysblind

This is sort of an unusual fragrance to pin down because it's several things at once and not one particular thing at any time either. The central accord running through Silver Essence is a blend of coconut, incense, nutmeg, and wood. The coconut note, while probably the strongest, most dominant note in the composition, is also pretty well blended in with the other notes. As a result it comes across sort of soft, a little bit creamy, and just a touch sweet. It's not the sweet kind of coconut you'd find in a regular coconut-centered scent. Still, it's very much there and if you were to remove it from the scent the entire dynamic of the fragrance would change. After the coconut, is an incense note that has something of a medicinal, camphorous quality to it along with a very slight, gray dusty ashiness. It's one of the more dominant notes in the composition, and its strength is on about equal footing with the nutmeg which is flanked by cinnamon and pepper and adds a nice, spicy edge to the scent. Finally, and probably the most unusual aspect of this fragrance, is the wood accord. It's an interesting accord because it manages to smell like several woods at once. It has the dusty, hazy quality of guaiac wood , the smokiness of birch, but also the kind of sharp, up front woodiness of cedar. It makes for a very nice woody base, and a solid backbone to the composition. Also worth noting is a cool, earthy patchouli at work in the base, which at times seems equally as strong as the woody spine. It's important to mention that everything I described above is more or less blended together, but at the same time discernible. In this case, the complex note pyramid as it appears on paper actually holds true in reality, and if you close your eyes and try, you can really smell each note and their individual role in the scent.

Silver Essence is spicy and woody, fresh, and just a bit creamy and sweet from the coconut. It's not a dark, heavy fragrance by any means, but it's not bright and light either. It's very medium bodied in that regard, and the brown and silver accenting on its packaging are a good chromatic representation of the scent. The overall quality of the composition is solid--while it doesn't feel like a $300 bottle of niche, it's superior to your average designer. Still, I sometimes think the notes could use more 'pop.' At times they seem a little too recessed, and could do with greater dimension and definition. Though synthetic, the notes are handled well and don't come across scratchy or abrasive at any time. Overall, Silver Essence is a fairly unique smell and has a comfortable, casual appeal that should work especially well on fall evenings. Projection is moderate--it doesn't jump out at you--but its longevity is very good, lasting 10+ hours. Thumbs up and recommended for sampling. Silver Essence is a solid 7.5/10.

TonyAKAMrClean

Chicago Tony T sums this up pretty well below. It's not as sweet as you'd expect from the notes (namely the coconut). It's a bit spicier and warmer than you'd expect. Given the Ferrari name, I sort of expected this to be a scent typical for guys in their 20's to 30's, but I think this one is probably a bit more at home with the 35-40+ crowd, although I think anyone 25+ can probably pull this one off. For me personally, I'll be most likely to wear this one in the fall and winter.

To sum it up, I like it a lot, but it doesn't quite tick all the boxes for me. Don't get me wrong, the scent is great! It's also strong, long lasting, and the ingredients smell natural and surprisingly high quality. I'd put this in the same category as Nuit d'Issey, but I personally prefer the latter.

I also purchased Ferrari Leather Essence after sampling this, and they definitely both share the same woody cinnamon DNA undertones. Hard to describe exactly what's so similar about them, but they're both very, very good!

Regardless of whether or not this is the scent for me, the scent itself is amazing, and Ferrari deserves respect for their Essence line! These scents are all fantastic so far, from my sampling.

Update: After wearing this again from the 10ml splash bottle I have, I've gotta say, I may have spoken too soon. This scent is so good. While I might prefer Nuit d'Issey and Ferrari Leather Essence more often, this scent is amazing. The coconut note is unique and very well done and there's just enough sweetness. I may be looking to add a full bottle of this to my collection some day, especially for its current $22 price tag!

nguyenvuhungvuong

Strong and fresh but sometimes I think it's a little bit hot like spice. And long lasting on me

periquito89

I used to think that a scent co-named silver would have some element fresh, zesty, but in reality it could be sweet, super sweet (Bogart Silver Scent doesn't get out of my mind) or woody. Ferrari Silver Scent is a woody scent, its smell has something even of Dsquared Potion, although in an anemic fashion, so it's not a strong scent but lasts well. But Armani Attitude is the one that always comes to my mind. Attitude feels more complex to me, and more nice. Attitude has a caracteristic fresh start, it is a bold woody scent during drydown and has more sweetness in it. I'm not an Armani fan but I always liked Attitude, and Baldessarini Secret Mission in my opinion is like a inferior copycat (scent is good, but not better than that Armani). With much focus I feel something that could be the coconut note in this Ferrari, but this is essentially a woody scent, pleasant as a well craft woody scent can be, but given the reviews I expected a different one here, more original and fresh. But it's not a heavy one by any means.

NiceNiffs

When I first smelled Ferrari Silver Essence it immediately made me think of Burberry London (with the Brown/Red/White Tartan wrapped bottle) as that is also a tobacco-leather-sweet scent. However, when I put them side by side and they have enough differences to stand them apart.

The quality of FSE is noticeably higher probably because it is EDP where BL is EDT.

BL has a definite lean towards leather and cherry with a hint of tobacco on the finish. However, FSE is a much thicker, more balanced combination. I get dry but sharp citrus top end (perhaps too sharp and overpowering really), followed by the rich, sweet, smokey wooden heart of Coconut, Cedar and Incense - they are detectable individually.

I am testing FSE from a 10ml 'dab-it-on' sample bottle so may have applied it to heavily. I'm interested enough to maybe buy the EDP spray and revise my take on this but so far impressed at the quality and composition and the modest price makes it good value.

Update:
The most notable characteristic is that it starts off very 'quiet' but as it warms up and starts to develop it gradually wakes up and gets louder until after 1-2 hours anyone walking within 6 feet of you will get a healthy waft of Ferrari !! Silver !! Essence !! :o)

Perfumato

This scent is spiced coconut with smoky leathery background !! .

No designer fragrance hit those facets ALL at once.

If you are looking for a designer scent that is unique , then silver essence deserves your attention.

Average performance , but soo unique in the designer game.

Cheers!!

Chicago Tony T

This is the 3rd or 4th that I have tried from the Essence line. I must say that this is very likeable and pushes all the right buttons. Now that Beautyspin is on the rise well actually arrived and priced everything at a reasonable amount I can see more guys buying this. Before BS, Ebay had all the Ferrari scents priced above 70 bucks. Now BS has em at under 40 which is a much fair price and most likely because they were not big sellers at their original price.

Now to the scent which is a light hearted creamy/woody/spicy affair. Blended perfectly for the office and casual wear during Spring and Fall months. I say this because it harsh winter temps it would be a bit light and in humid summer temps it could be too heavy. I thought the coconut would be a bit sweeter but all of the spices, woods and incense really tone it down. Performance could be better but I have nothing else to complain about.

Ferrari has a reputation for putting out crappy scents that smell cheap, synthetic and thin. They've become the stereotype of car branded scents - cheap nonsense at way too high prices.

However, it seems that in 2012 they wanted that image to change. The Essence was supposedly their version of a niche line. Whilst the line has received little attention, the limited feedback has been good.

They all sound very interesting, but this one really captivated me. A woody incense-y coconut scent? I am a huge fan of coconut and figured it couldn't hurt to try it.

The opening is a very well made classic fougere accord. I get a clear lavender note with a hint of thyme and pepper. It's a tiny bit similar to the opening of Azzaro Pour Homme or Rive Gauche Pour Homme. It's not quite as anisic, but it's a semi-barbershop, so to speak.

The heart is absolutely fantastic. The coconut is in full force here. It's such an aromatic coconut note. It's both dark and herbal like the scent of coconut shavings, yet it also shares some of the fresh coconut milk scent. It's terribly well done.

It's joined by a birch tar note, giving a leathery-smoky background.

The base is relatively subtle. I get incense, a boat load of cedar, a bit of guaiac wood and a tiny bit of musk and patchouli to round the base out.

The main notes are coconut, birch tar, incense and cedar. However, the real star is the coconut. It's almost as if they've tried to highlight every scent aspect of coconut by backing it with these various notes, and it really works spectacularly.

Coconut can be a really difficult note. You usually find it in boozy fragrances such as Creed's Virgin Island Water, or tropical themed fragrances like Diesel's Only The Brave Wild.

However Silver Essence is straight up masculine. It's borderline bad ass. It's pay homage to classic masculine perfumery whilst adding a cutting edge execution.

I really adore the fact that Ferrari dared to make such an interesting and daring scent. If Bentley has showed us that car branded fragrances can be stellar, Ferrari proves to us that it wasn't just a one off on Bentley's account.

Longevity is very good - 7-8 hours.

I didn't have high hopes for this scent, but after reading reviews and looking at that gorgeous bunch of notes, I am happily surprised! Very well composed, I get mostly incense and oud, with a birchy backdrop, I don't get much coconut, or cinnamon, but oh dear this is divine!
This really does remind me of Interlude man by Amoauge, and this is much more affordable.
I think it has great longevity and decent sillage, instant quality.
Ferrari has come to the party and I am happy they arrived.
Scent 9/10 - love it
Sillage - 7.5/10 - does the job
Longevity - 8/10 - seems to last well on my skin
Overall - 9/10

Great price, great scent, great performance, very happy

I've tried and liked several of the Essence line. I was expecting to like Silver Essence based on the notes listed. But unfortunately this scent just did not work for me. The coconut doesn't mesh at all with the other notes. If you are expecting the coconut from Creed Virgin Island Water, you will be disappointed. This is not a summery scent. Instead it is heavy, artificial, and in the end a scrubber for me.

Man.. I love and will always love the opening of this scent, they used 3 of my favorite notes: cinnamon, coconut, and nutmeg. but i get the same result as in Azzaro visit: too much wood a brief spell after applying. (and the same woods were used in both: cedar, guaiac, nutmeg), the deference is that this one's heavy with birch and Azzaro is heavy with cardamom.

FlirtBoy

Starts with lovely coconut that fades rather quickly (1 hour later it was difficult to detect it) and strong cedar, revealing the base dominated by incense and guaiacwood accompanied by a slight cinnamon whiff. Longevity and sillage seems to be ok and the base reminds me a bit of Gucci Rush.

Nice one - 7.25/10 (Personally I couldn´t stand Essence Oud and found Essence Vetiver too weak. I don´t think those two are bad scents but this one seems to be better balanced as it´s neither overpowering nor obtrusive and lasts for several hours)

ferrari silver essence first impressions a love at first sniff for me very original nothing else smells like it, natural smelling a very high end fragrance. from top notes to buttom notes I love it. I love ow the scent transforms I love the coconut note and oh its there you cant miss it. The coconut blends well with the incense along with the woods at the buttom. A very elegant scent an all around scent in my opinion. Performance is awesome 8-10 hours with sillage. This one screams 3 heavy sprays will last all day. A love for me on the silver now to test oud essense.

I bought this perfume based on the reviews I read here. And for some reason it is nothing like what I have read.

I couldn't smell the coconut at all even though a big fan of coconut scents. However the perfume is not bad but it's not unique at all. Also it doesn't smell as refined or as high quality perfume as Ferrari tried to market this essence line.

It does smell familiar and to be fair the longevity a sillage are more than decent , but you would expect that from a EDP anyway.

Plus note, It comes at a cheap price compared to other EDP in the market.

I purchased this one for my man (he is 58) on Valentine`s day. He normally doesn`t wear perfume but he loves this one. This is a sexy scent even for a mature man (the mix of warm spices, woody notes and coconut is devine), that is not mainstream, quite unlike what most men his age wear. Surprising for the Ferrari line, which I disliked in the past. Along with the FSE, I was offered a small bottle of the Bvulgari Man extreme as a gift along with my purchase. Although Bvulgari generally produce good quality perfumes, I find the scent more generic.
Ferrari Silver Essence is definitely a good choice.

It seems to me that Ferrari decided to get out of its comfort zone and started to fight in a new growing market, in which major brands are launching Prestige lines (also known as Exclusive) in order to respond to its audience and conquer new users. And thus was born the Essence Collection, with more elaborated perfumes, noble ingredients and a greater concern in details, such as heavier bottles that bring the brand embossed on the lids and are ornamented by the leather, which conveys luxury and sophistication.

Silver Essence is the second fragrance of this line (the first was Essence OUD) and follows the same pattern, which refers to a certain style of life, inspired by the prestige and elegance of the Ferrari Grand Tourism spirit.

The fragrance is Woody and rich in spices, with Eau de Parfum concentration. The notes are: Silver Sage, pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon and a dash of thyme. In the heart, we have silver Birch (with its silvery-white bark), lavender, patchouli leaves, and coconut. Finally, a base rich in woods like Guaiac, Atlas cedar, musk and a touch of incense.

Now, try to imagine the smell of an intense fragrance, with cinnamon and nutmeg, right in the output, hot as a sunny day in Italy. Then, it begins to be enriched by the woody tone of the birch bark, along with patchouli and the creaminess of the coconut. And this scent, which could have become too nauseating, is trapped by the noble and dense tone of the Guaiac wood that, along with incense, confer a smoky base to the fragrance. And as a good EDP, it has wonderful sillage and projection.

I still don't know the entire line, but Silver Essence is a real abuse of quality, resulting in numerous compliments and bringing a sense of security and power.
