As sweet piglet says, ‘no one is ever going to get past the bottle’, which explains the endless juvenile comments and ‘snickering in the locker room’.

Where we differ is in our appreciation of the fragrance. It’s a cheap fruity and largely floral fragrance after the first blast has subsided, and a woman could easily wear this. No sillage or longevity to speak of for me.

harperhilton

looks like there are not a lot of stick-shift drivers here.

ha!

sweet piglet of smoke

I was about to write an impassioned review for Smalto Fullchoke, about how it was more than just a total and emphatic phallus of a bottle: I was going to shame as juvenile all the previous reviewers for not getting over the obvious big boner of a flacon that it is.Then my partner came home, saw the Fullchoke on the side table and exclaimed, "Hey, you're wearing your penis bottle perfume again!"

And that's when I finally realized no one is ever going to get past the bottle.

Which is too bad. Because the scent is intoxicating, unlike any other scent I've ever smelt, and one I totally wish came in a non rock-hard rod of a bottle. Not that there's anything wrong with that. (I don't know anything about guns or firearms or any of that stuff, good God, I'm Canadian, but Fullchoke does smell like I imagine gunpowder would smell. If someone made a perfume of it, and then stuck the juice inside a proud johnson-shaped bottle.)

Nice bottle ..who designed it ? H. R. Giger

I’m really torn on this one. Part of it scream cheap, offensive Walmart fragrance - but the other part is so fantastically unique and interesting. I’m
Not sure which side will win - I echo the comments that cite this as being interesting and unique. It is. The gunpowder note is there - probably more prominent than any other “gunpowder” note I’ve come across. I think it’s enjoyable? There’s a late 90’s vibe about this. Almost as if it shares some weird undertone of coolwater or something that was uber popular in the 90’s. I really cannot figure out where I’m getting that vibe - I just know it’s there.

It’s pretty strong. It seems to go on and on. While it does subdue, it still retains a bit of punch all the way through.

I don’t know if I like it or despise it - but I think I like it. And I know it’s unique. If you’re looking for a bit of an adventure - try it. It’s certainly not in the same ballpark as other scents.

I remember browsing the shelves and finding this masterpiece or a bottle. The name. The bottle. God gracious! But I do remember how it was a very distinctly smoky burnt smell, I don't think I know anything like it. It was about the time when it was fresh in shops.

lightborn

A sweet and spicy opening gives way after 10 minutes to a woodsy, mildly floral fragrance. As the hours tick by what becomes more noticeable is the musky amber.
What I like most about this is its uniqueness, not generic at all.
Sillage is moderate (depending on how much you put on), longevity about 5 hours.
Francesco Smalto FullChoke, very nice.

The bottle and the name...hahahahaha.

I love this scent! It's my first day wearing it and I keep smelling myself. I bought this because it is from perfumer Pierre Bourdon. Since I can't find Canali for Men at a reasonable price, this will do. I do wish the scent had more of a presence but I'll settle those who get very close to enjoy it.

I didn't buy this for the bottle but I had a good laugh at the phallic shape of the bottle and the fact the inside of the box is pink. Ha! I got a 3.4 oz bottle which seems to be very hard to get. If you find one, grab it!

maestro34

I have Aftershave. Overall a spicy scent. Similar to Jil sander for man. My score 6/10

newfrag

I don't get the phallus comments looks like a powderhorn to me. Anyway on to the the smell. Very spicy peppery almost like an electric heater heating up it's element. I get some fruityness but not much. Had a bottle for awhile it's just hard to wear it kinda grates on me after a while. Bit disappointing was hoping for a gunsmoke smell.

Bigsly

I just did a dab sampling with this one, and I do get the supposed gun powder note, but it's not unpleasant. What really surprises me is how much of a candy-like quality it has, which TMK, no reviewer has perceived so far! That's not unpleasant either, but it's a rather weird scent, not like any other that I can remember. I'll be interested to see how I perceive it when I give it a regular wearing, and I'll update my review at that point. This does not seem to have a typical oriental base, so keep that in mind.

I bought this for the bottle, kept it for the fragrance. Of course even if it smelled awful, I would have kept the bottle, but it's so much better that what this uncomfortable bottle holds is quite good.
It strikes me how it succeeds to elude mundanity. It's on the verge of being a typical woody men's fragrance, but it plays it down with a juicy undertone and a totally cool gun powder reminiscence. At some points it reminds me of a freshly ironed shirt, still steaming.
And yet the sense of the typical is always there, sidelined, but never outdone.
Overall it's a cosy fragrance that feels and smells good on my skin and i am happy to own it.

Loved the idea. Not the execution. For me, it smelled too much like generic dimestore aftershave and made me queasy. Scrubbed it off really quickly. Gave it to my son to see if it works better for him.

HackerX

I admit that I never gave this fragrance a chance because of that bottle, I thought it was a bad joke. And then one day I received a sample from a swap and this stuff was really no joke. I was surprised how good this stuff was! It was like a spicy and green version of Le Male, just extremely spicy and sexy, quite unique as well to boot. On top of all that It's an extremely potent fragrance, 2 to 3 sprays and it will project like a missile. Just amazing in all aspects, Smalto is probably having the last laugh right now, cuz seriously people this stuff is no joke.

pronose

anyway it's a nice scent and smells good on me!
The shape of flanker is like a penis go and ask why? This scent is a real panty dropper! Trust me

GodKing

I purchased this fragrance on a whim last Spring along with Smalto Fullchoke for Women for a gal pal. Yep, it was kind of a joke, for obviously reasons, but what's not a joke is this fragrance. It's an excellent woody-spicy scent (mostly fresh spicy) that I wore several times during the Spring and again during in the Fall; perfect fragrance for both seasons.

Smalto Fullchoke opens with a shotgun blast of sweet-pepper and spices, transitions to nice masculine aromatic-fougere and floral tones, and then dries to a pleasant vetiver scent. I find the vetiver to be slightly earthly, lightly dark and very smooth. Could it be the booze or vanilla giving it this smooth creaminess? Perhaps, but certainly weren't prominent to my senses

Performance for this fragrance was decent; it lasted between 6-8 hours on my skin and project average to slightly above. Overall, a very nice surprise for a reasonable price. Definitely worth a try if you're into woody-spicy frags.

Marilimorajaspani

The misinterpretation.

The bottle is in the shape of a "powder-horn" or "powder-flask", hence the relationship to gunpowder and fullchoke.

Mojtabaa

Oh, I'm pretty sure the bottle designer had an erotic and phallic picture in his mind while creating this.
So,you may say it looks like a shutgun, ok that's true, but I think you know that shutgun in some cultures and contexts is a metaphor and euphemism of that male sexual organ.

Deetron

I’m totally agree with MegaMav’s review.
I know many people are just having fun with the bottle, but I want to write about the juice inside...
In fact, the bottle has some kind of riffle design with a lot of sharp edges, so these comparisons with a sex toy are not very accurate, but of course everyone is free to have fun and jokes :)))

It’s shown as a Woody Spicy scent and I think it’s a great example of this olfactive group.
On my skin the woody and spicy notes are dominating and they create real masculine vibe. I see some floral notes in the pyramid, but I can’t really detect much roses or jasmine.
All vetiver lovers will appreciate Fullchoke, because the vetiver in it is very prominent note and that is the reason I can find some similarities with Encre Noire for men by Lalique.
To me, Fullchoke is richer and more complex than Encre Noire, but I find them quite similar...
The big difference is Encre Noire is darker, more earthy and mysterious, and Fullchoke is dryer, spicy, masculine with beautiful woody drydown.
On my skin longevity is remarkable – more than 10 hours. Projection is very good in first 5 hours and then it sits closer to skin.
Although Fullchoke is not taken seriously, I think it’s a very interesting and well done vetiver based fragrance. If you can find it at a good price, pull the trigger.

Pinnacos

C'mon, folks. This bottle couldn't BE more phallic. And the name? Why not just call it Full Choke the Chicken? Saying the bottle is based on "the shoulder stock for a rifle" is like saying Georgia O'Keeffe just painted pretty flowers. Wake up.

MegaMav

How about a real review?
This one is quite unique.
The first few minutes are quite sweet, with sparkling generic fruit notes.
If you pressed me to say which fruit I would say its an almost ripe honeydew melon.
Once it settles in I smell something like the flint that is in the background of Terre d'Hermes, less wet however.

"Keep your powder dry."

After 30 minutes, the flint/gunpowder becomes pretty prominent, and mixes with the almost ripe melon note and a bit of teak wood presented like Trussardi Inside.

It has an aura of a smoldering firearm with a freshly struck flint. For those that havent had the experience of shooting a firearm, closest I could say it comes to is a freshly shorted out electronic device. Ozonic.

After 2.5 hours, the grainy, rough flint note has smoothed out into a glossy, wood & metallic musk.
Its the rifle, the stock after its been cleaned up.
Its quite an abstract concept thats surprisingly wearable.
This stuff is good. One spray does project an arms length.

4 hours in, still going. Drove to the supermarket with the 1 spray, the car was a little warm inside, and it reignited the gunpowder note.
It projects quite a bit with only a little bit of heat, so I could see this being a beast in the summer or a nice mellow scent in the cool months.

There is a light vanilla note peeking thru after 5-6 hours.
The metallic note is fading a bit and its warming up more.

Definitely worth the $26 for 100ml.
I think I'll put it on my cheapies list once Bvlgari Black gets pricey with is discontinuation.

I think those that enjoy Bvlgari Black will enjoy the urban, industrial feel to this one.
Its slightly sweet from the teak wood and musk, unlike Bvlgari Black's car air freshener vanilla note.
It still has the same feel but much more masculine. The metallic note is cold, and unique.

Its a pretty interesting fragrance thats received juvenile attention for the bottle design, but the juice inside is worth considering.

iconoclast

Never mind the bottle (or the smell itself for that matter), what a daft name for a fragrance! Perhaps it sounds better in an Italian or French accent...or perhaps not....

Bigsly

I cannot tolerate such a bottle! Now leave me alone while I spray on some Rochas Man.

Wes:

By saying you'd seen worse bottles, I expected the Faberge Macho bottle to have a big, low set of swingers, too.

I'd add Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur to the list of obvious reference bottles, although Fullchoke wins for most blatant name. I'd have gone with Deep Throat or maybe even Gag Reflex myself.

ranchorita

I actually want to smell this. I love the smell of freshly burned gun powder, so if this perfumer has pulled it off (yeah, I know.), then I would actually like to have this one around. So, laugh all you want to.

Update - I can't help noticing that this is no one's signature. I still can't find it.

Sveltekittie

This one makes me gag! Get it?

pob75

This has to be the most puerile and least helpful page on the whole of fragrantica. I made the mistake of expecting to be able to refer to this page for some information and opinion about this fragrance.
THIS IS MEANT TO BE FOR REVIEWS - not pointless, pathetic, pre-pubescent, playground-level "humour".

Arbre Amer

O_O ... HAHAHAHAHA.
Love it! I wonder if it ever sold a single bottle (in the open at least). The gunpowder and fruits combination in the opening must be great

scenturian

Repulsive bottle for man. This should have been launched for woman version. I wonder which man would like to hold this bottle, maybe gays.

NYprospect

I feel for the poor bastard that has to stand around and hold a tester of this while trying to spray people with it.Hmmm although.......

originaldeftom

Latex would be a better bottle choice for obvious reasons of comfort handling ;-)

sfonativeboy

That bottle is far from suggestive ..
it's down right OBVIOUS!!!!
has anybody smelled this ????

Zaleska

A multi-purpose perfume, uh?
1001 utilities! LOL

delphine67

batteries not included?

sunshineandroses

If the presentation of this product got any more suggestive they would have to restrict it to over 18 adults. Sorry, I just had to say it and thumb me down if you like.
