It is a masterpiece and I'm so glad I purchased a full bottle 10 years ago (I rarely buy full bottles).

It's the most beautifully blended tropical, creamy yellow floral scent, balanced with freshness, dewiness and greenness of lilly, citruses, and palm tree.
It reminds me of a time when I stepped into a flower shop full of fragrant, dewy lilies - it smells natural.

I have dozens of fragrances but I keep reaching for it in summer. I can't get enough of it - it's mesmerizing. Nothing comes close. ❤️

astralmonad870

I managed to win 40 ml of this in an Ebay auction. On first spray it reminded me of Penhaligon's Solaris without the zingy lemon top note, but the drydown with vanilla and ylang ylang is very soft, inoffensive, and soothing/gentle.

Kisaderosa

My signature scent, the most beautifully crafted perfume I've ever had the pleasure of owning. I need guerlain to bring this back forever and ever. I want this scent in my shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotions, creams, room scent, car scent, laundry soap; I NEED THIS SMELL TO BE EVERYWHERE IN MY LIFE. I literally can't get enough of it. The smell is white flowers, solar rays, fresh creamy palm leaves. Makes me think of being on the most beautiful tropical island you could imagine, without having a sunscreen smell at all. If anyone is getting rid of their bottle i will buy it from you, pm me i will pay for shipping. I literally don't care how much it costs, this is a perfume i cannot live without. Guerlain, if any of your staff ever read this, please, please i am on my knees begging you to please bring this back. 100/10 I love this perfume more than any other.

LSAUG

Now here is something unique and something I could use in my collection, too bad it is discontinued. This is a softly green solar floral beauty. It literally smells like sunshine to me. Warm, soft yellow light from a kind and gently warm sun shines down on you as you stroll through a tropical garden filled w/ palm trees, ylang, and all manner of white florals. The sweetness of nature touches your heart, mind and soul. Any woman wearing this perfume will feel like a youthful beauty no matter her age. It is the scent of youth, beauty, this tropical perfume made for sweet dreams. Wear this to bed while playing an ocean cd softly in the background and you would feel like you were there for real. This is a beautifully done tropical floral perfume. Why in God's name would Guerlain discontinue this beauty? What a shame. I would pay a good price for this. I keep smelling my hand and I cannot get enough. It smells like Beauty itself.

SailorV

This one, along with Ylang & Vanille, is the best Aqua Allegoria to me. What a shame that they're both long discontinued. I'm not a huge fan of citruses, so maybe it's no surprise I like these sweet florals better, but on the other hand I can be a bit picky with my florals, so I didn't expect to love both so much.

Lys Soleia is simply beautiful. It's not that much of a lily scent, more of a solar white floral vanilla. I do get lily, but the tuberose and ylang-ylang are stronger to my nose. All the flowers are very creamy, beachy and smooth, there is nothing sharp about them. They're beautifully blended into a bright and warm vanilla base, sweet but not too sugary.
I really love the fruit accord in this. Some say it smells like bananas, which I would also love, but to me it smells more like honeydew melon ice cream. The milky kind. Or maybe melons with frozen whipped cream on top? Anyways, I find it magical in combination with the tropical, summery flowers. The scent feels rich and airy at the same time.

I kind of regret that I waited ages to find a sample of this instead of blind-buying when it was still affordable online. Oh well.

brown sugar, whire florals, honey, and general tropical notes.

silver_moonlight87

if anyone has a bottle to sell or swap within Canada, I finish mine three years ago, and I miss the fragrance.

violeteme

The initial spray is very green, leafy, zesty almost like it was not the citrus juice, but the peel. It's very refreshing at first, borderline bitter. But it develops soon into a very warm, sunlit, honeyed, nectary lily. Ylang-ylang together with tuberose are in the background, but they add some sweetness, creaminess, denseness and that relaxed, tropical character. It doesn't go in to direction of really stereotypical tropical perfumes, this is more refined than those. Vanilla is so subtle, it seems, it's all ylang-ylang doing the sweetening work. The way it blends with the skin... Oh my. This is a Goddess territory. Guerlain was out of their minds to discontinue this. This is very unique, there is no similar perfume on the market. It doesn't smell like Terracotta, and it surpasses Terracotta by miles, it's much more unique.

churinl

Oh Lys Soleil! You are such a frustrating fragrance for me!! I adore it and yet it just seems to vanish so quickly no matter how much I spray on. People can not smell it on me so I know it's not anosmia. My skin seems to go through cycles where fragrances seem to have decent longevity, silage, and projection, only to turn around and have my skin devour them no matter what I do to try and amplify and extend the experience. My review below will attest to my initial impression and love for the scent. It's just that I am wearing it today and getting nothing. I know AA's are supposed to be light and refreshing, but come on - your dealing with heady, tropical flowers here! Perhaps it shouldn't be part of the AA line. Nevertheless, it's still a beauty, and I really can't fault Guerlain for the fact that my skin just doesn't cooperate.

mirrorghost

oh wow, this one is so pretty! at first i get a lot of ylang ylang and lemon, then i get a big dose of vanilla. after a few more minutes on the skin, it gets much greener and the palm leaf and lily dominate. honestly, it kind of smells like a realistic jasmine bush, despite there being no jasmine in here. i think all in all i get the vanilla and palm leaf as the strongest notes. it's very green, almost bordering on aquatic at times.

MissYa

What attracted me to exactly this scent was its name LYS SOLEIA
and its box with the golden image of a bee , and the bottle itself, in magical unison.
I am a person who does not like stark sunlight, heat, summer... so I suppose it's rather strange that the name LYS SOLEIA attracted me so much.
But it seemed ethereal to me, I suppose... and I liked the idea of a smell of sunlight.
This enchantment in my mind did not really diminish when I actually smelled the scent, because I found it lovely and really also somewhat ethereal like a golden, misty sun-ray seeping in through my curtains on a silent summer morning.
I thus bought this large flacon of Eau de Toilette with great expectation, on the ferry from Denmark to Germany, on my way to Paris, in the hottest summer we have had in ages, the summer of 2018.
Now, 3 years later, there's still a lot of liquid sunlight left in the bottle, because I haven't used much of this eau de toilette. I do still really like the scent , which is so mild and gentle and light ~~ but I just have a feeling of it not being the right sort of scent for me. I never got a compliment about this scent on my skin.. and never even got the opposite, either ( a critique , which I do regularly get from a certain person in my sphere, if I wear a perfume that she doesn't like)--- so it feels like this fragile scent quickly drowns in the quicksand of my skin, somehow. I also lose the sense of it, myself, rather quickly, when I wear it, so its longevity is short on me.
I have just sprayed the scent upon me for inspiration when writing this review and I feel so sweet now, because it IS also sweet, and maybe just a tad too sweet to really resemble a raw sun-ray.. and not powerful enough to really make me feel lifted up in the air on a sunny day. Still, I love it.. love it in the same way I love a beautiful dress that's just too small for me.. or too big.

ingeneuxo

-Opens almost identical to Coconut Fizz from the same lineup.
-Strangely, my nose picks up a ghost note of tiare flower, as opposed to the lily or ylang-ylang notes that other reviewers sing praises of.
-Probably not worth having this if you already own Coconut Fizz in your collection. (-)

cocofluff

Lys Soleia is so beautiful! Smells sweet, creamy, sunny, airy and a bit dewy. The palm leaf gives the fragrance a touch of green sappiness. This fragrance is gorgeously blended and smooth.

I do indeed pick up light spicy notes in the mid which follow through into the base. The drydown smells of skin-like musk on a sunny day.

I wish Guerlain would bring this discontinued gem back. I'd snap up a bottle immediately. I would mark this as a love but I hate loving discontinued fragrances. -

churinl

Ohhh! I smell sooooo good!! Lys Soleil has been on my radar for such a long time. When I found a new bottle for sale at a great price, I immediately pounced even though I never tried it before. It is unquestionably my favorite summer "beach" scent of all time.
Creamy and lush but never overbearing, the combination of lily and ylang with a touch of tropical fruit is evocative of the experience of visiting a tropical resort, but doesn't beat you over the head, screaming "beach vacation in a bottle".
I see similarities with Terracotta, but find it has more in common with another favorite of mine, Annick Goutal "Songes". I love Songes, but actually prefer Lys. It smells smoother to me. No rough edges, everything blended well. It manages to be both slightly heady and yet light at the same time.
This is my 6th full bottle AA (I have a mini Pampelune as well), and my favorite. Do not expect great longevity - it is an AA after all - but I have no problem respraying. I'll decant some in a small atomizer to reapply on the go. It's projection and silage are light but noticeable for about the first hour or two, then it becomes a skin scent. My only regret is that the summer is winding down and I won't be able to wear it much longer. However, there's always next year, and it's comforting to know that in the cold dark days of winter, I can spray some on, close my eyes, and mentally visit Bora Bora whenever I want!

PS - I forgot to mention the light spiciness that emerges in the mid notes which I totally attribute to the gorgeous lily! I am swooning!

auburnalmond

Fluffy white lilies (or a concoction of soft white flowers, it does create an illusion of gardenias) and musky vanilla with a tinge of banana. It's so lovely and angelic, too bad it just doesn't last. Bright, drowsy, ephemeral, heavenly.

gennarowilde

Stunning tropical creation I adore it I think it’s what terracotta smells like minus the coconutty accord?I layer this creation too and it’s always a heated bloom of natural classy and sophisticated marvel

sibaraa

Beyond gorgeous! The way the lily smells here is divine. It's like a lilly extract soaked in a tropical punch for days. One of the best topical florals i have ever sniffed. 💕💕

floralscents88

absolute perfection. such a soft and delicate floral masterpiece. just the way i like it.I only have 2 of the aqua allegoria(this one and tiare mimosa-a blind buy), so I cant say for the others but lys soleia is my favourite. It's so comforting. its a winner for me, whereas the tiare mimosa i find plasticky if that makes sense.

bodnerrachel

Why would they discontinue this perfume? The only ones available for purchase are discontinued.

AnlisaC

Guerlain has been one of my favorite fragrance houses. Everything is so well done and smells amazing. I’ve always loved the Aqua Allergoria scents. I have collected quite a few of these, some hard to find/discontinued. Now, this is such a beauty, ylang ylang, lily an tropical fruits make this an adult fruity tropical non-coconut type of perfume. It’s a great summer scent but not in a generic type of way. Lily is so beautiful, creamy and well rounded. I’ve always love lily, I have a ton of them in my summer garden. Longevity is excellent about 8 hrs on me, the lily holds court and is very creamy not spicy, sillage very good, it does stay close to skin but not in a weak way.

I love the the beehive glass bottle, very decorative, although I see Guerlain is doing this to all their bottles.

If you want a beachy creamy (no coconut involved) fragrance for summer this is it!

MakeupNeverSleeps

My favorite floral note became lily after I fell in love with TF Lys Fume. When Cartier Baiser Vole Essence was released a year or so later, lily became my signature. I decided to blind-buy this one after seeing it mentioned in Cartier BVE reviews. The easiest way I could explain my interpretation, is that Cartier BVE is lily + vanilla and Lys Soleia is ylang ylang + (Guerlain's) vanilla. The lily in Lys Soleila is totally fleeting. I much prefer Cartier, but can see the solar/beachy/tropical appeal of Guerlain.

charcolatebar

I adore this fragrance! A lush, sweet floral with plenty of lily and ylang. As many others have commented, it works nicely in summer. However, although it isn't listed in the notes, I get a strong clove kick, which for me makes this a perfect winter scent. The creamy, rich spice and sweetness reminds me of eggnogg! I love this on a freezing cold winter day, to invoke summer.

Sillage is good but longevity could be better. Dies down fairly quickly to a pale vanilla. I'm interested to try some of the layering suggestions here.

I love the look of a few Aqua Allegoria bottles side-by-side, and this juice in particular is a lovely golden tone which looks great adorned with the gold cap and 'collar'.

SaraX

I just received my first ever full bottle of this beauty today (it took some time for me to locate a good 100% authentic online buy) and I'm in heaven!

This is definitely a summer scent for me, but I'm wearing this today - in the middle of the winter - and can't help but sniff my wrists all the time.

Lys Soleia has that base that is so distinguishable for a variety of Guerlain's scents, that exact base that I love in my Guerlains.

Lys Soleia is a warmer version of L'Instant and a slightly cooler version of Terracotta. A perfect combination of the two, just like katrinawhitney said before me, yet a beauty of it's own. And unlike many other Aqua Allegorias, this one is pretty powerful & longlasting.

There is a beautiful combination of lily and ylang-ylang in this one with sweet and fruity notes carefully blended in. Just like a garden of exotic flowers in early morning summer sunshine.

EDIT: I have to admit that the longer this scent stays on the skin the sweeter it becomes and for someone who is not that fond of a sweet lily explosion, this can definitely be too much.

So, I do recommed testing this first before buying (even though I went with a blind buy, which was a success for me).

katrinawhitney

Smells like a perfect mix of L'instant and Terracotta. All Guerlain fragrances. I already have the two I mentioned, however feel the need to have this as well. Its so utterly beautiful.

Wolfchild

WOW!!! Lush, creamy, tropical, juicy, green....Exquisite...……..

Will need some back-up bottles!

Super layered with CK Reveal

SoftWisdom

This fragrance is everything that I wanted Orchid Soleil to be. To me, it smells very similar but is much less cloying, yet still a dense, puffy, tropical suntan lotion effect, with a beautiful lily at the forefront. I can only enjoy these types of sweet suntan scents on hot days. It really reminds me of tanning at a beach or pool. A very sunshiny and joyful, elegant fragrance. Lasting power is great!

JamesBeach

Lys Soleia is easy to wear. It has a fattiness to it that rounds out the flower, abating any stridency. At the same time, it's very dry, almost dusty or sandy (but decidedly not powdery as we've come to know it). The name is appropriate, it does somehow smell sun-baked, like cracked mud or a sand dune. The flower itself is a little nondescript, but its color is off-white and bends in the direction of lilies.

The overall effect is something not far off from some suntan lotions I have smelled, though without even a trace of the medicinal underbelly that those can have.

It's uncomplicated, though, like most in the Aqua Allegoria range. Strictly linear, it holds strong and true for a surprisingly long time, at least six hours. It's a bit of a skin scent in the latter half but I promise this effect is a good one, clear and radiant as opposed to something you have to struggle to detect.

Really a great example of what the Aqua Allegoria range is about.

SuzanneS

Modern tropical lily and ylang dominated fragrance. Super for warmer spring days. It has a definite point of view, so if you do not like lily do not get near this one. I do appreciate it as a unique warm floral. Cant wait to layer Ostara with it.

Bubbles1964

This is a lovely, makes-me-want-to-take-a-vacation scent. Lily is of course forward in this composition but for an EDT, quite long lasting on me at 2 hours before turning to a skin scent. I do detect the vanilla but it's there lightly. With the addition of neroli and fruit notes, it means the vacation I'm on is in Hawaii or another tropical island.

Looking forward to see how this projects in warmer weather.
Edit: awesome Spring scent! It doesn't last long but no complaints. Stunning!

gtabasso

I have found my perfect dry sweet Easter lily; perfection. It starts out a sweeter yet dry lily with a hint of fruit and ylang but as it dries down it get drier and all about the Easter lily with some light musk to support. I detect NO vanilla in this.

Feli15

Luscious exotic garden, green and dewy, slowly warming up under the rays of the golden sun emitting intoxicating smell of white flowers and vanilla orchid. There's also a plate of sliced ripe, juicy tropical fruits on the table and a glass of fresh- squeezed cold lemonade. You can hear ocean waves in the distance but decided to stay in a shade of a palm tree as you just put your sunscreen on. You close your eyes, inhale and enjoy in a little slice of heaven. That's what this perfume does to me!

It's in the same vein as much more expensive and fleeting Hermessence Vanille Galante. Sheer lilies, ylang ylang and a whisper of soft vanilla but Guerlain's take on tropical paradise is sweetened with fruits and is more substantial in execution with great longevity for an edt. Such a shame they decided to discontinue it.

AntigoneAscending

I thought I had reviewed this one already, but I guess not.
Lys Soleia is so delightful. She is not fresh, but she is not heavy either, just warm, pretty and floral. The lily/vanilla/tuberose combo hits you first and it is bright and bold. And there is something there that smells pleasantly warm and "dry". Like walking through a meadow at noon on a hot summer day. You smell flowers but you also smell the hot ground beneath your feet and the dry grass as it brushes past you.
To me it smells like midsummer, walking barefoot through the fields on my grandpas ranch. Dry grass, scratching my feet and legs, grasshoppers taking flight all around us, as my brothers and I ramble down the hill to the creek so we could cool off. It takes me to a place emotionally that I love so dearly that I'm not sure I could ever be without it. I can't wear it everyday, but when I am homesick or just sick of winter, I can bring those memories right back.
The dry down is just sweet vanilla and so comforting. What a lovely gem!
I am surprised to see tropical fruits listed because I don't smell anything remotely fruity.

Lyla Rose

Lys Soleia from Guerlain, another Aqua Allegoria line masterpiece!
Although I'm very religious regarding wearing my perfumes according to seasons, ( only a few are in a whole year rotation) and at first sniff I would clasify this scent as a late spring, summer scent, I really love the lily aroma in the colder season, especially during autumn. The ylang ylang ads a tropical vibe, In fact I wore it a lot last summer during holiday evenings.
It's warm and rich with a hint of freshness due to the citrus top notes, which makes it very suitable for both warm and cold seasons.
I also find it very elegant, when I wear it I feel the need to accessorise it with some beautiful vintage jewelry. Very happy to have this beautiful scent in my collection!

Forgot to mention, I wouldn't recommend it as a blind buy, it's quite strong, I dare to say a love or hate scent, I happen to love it and a little bit goes a long way!

the_new_esta

Damn, reading the notes I knew I would hate it. Still did a blind buy because of the insanely glowing reviews on here.

NO!!! It's disgusting. It just smells like Bronzed Goddess or the original Michael Kors.

redskyatnight

Lys Soleia is lovely, airy lily on a creamy bed of green banana leaf and unsweetened coconut water. I can think of several people to whom I would like to give this as a gift; it's very easy to love.

Gemini12

No pun intended, but Lys Soleia truly blooms in the heat. The opening is warm lily and creamy ylang-ylang which instantly evoke thoughts of sunny tropical days. There's a tiny bit of greenness to give it some freshness. As it dries down it becomes sweeter due to the classic Guerlain vanilla. This is "heavier" than the typical Aqua Allegoria, yet it is never oppressive or cloying.

This is such a beauty and one of my absolute summertime favorites.

lamariposa.bella

Update:
GLORIOUS! Too beautiful for words. The heat here is quite hot with some humidity, and this perfume is thriving in these conditions. It doesn't smell like bananas anymore, just an incredibly gorgeous sweet floral. LOVE!!! Worth every penny and possibly the best feminine, summer fragrance I've smelled. Where most everything I own is a turn off in this heat (besides Juniper Sling and a few things that "will do") AA OWNS it!

2nd update-- Lemon! This perfume is amazing! I realize something different each time I wear it, through its various phases and depending on so many other factors--all sooo pretty. I asked my son, and he said, "Mmm," and "I would love for my gf to wear that." So two generations, right there! Going for a full bottle ASAP! ***Just layered one spritz Classique over a couple spritzes AA-- ooh la la!

This goes to show you different conditions make a huge difference, so try things more than once! Previous thoughts:

Banana Cream Pie.
I get the lily of the valley, but it reminds me so much of a banana cream pie, it's uncanny-- the opening.
It's not something you'll smell everywhere you go. Right now, I don't know what to think about it. I'll have to revisit it later, but at the moment, it feels too nicey-nice for my taste. That's Lily of the Valley, anyway-- pure and virginal (hence Christ being called by this flower).
A beautiful flower, I'm probably too brash to wear it.
Mmmm... but this drydown! Heavenly!
I might manage to tuck away my skank scents long enough to give this beauty a go. :)
Come to think of it, this might be the perfect fragrance to wear when meeting a prospective suitor's parents the first time!

iamtlynnette

warm, spicy, seductive—a warm moonlit night in an Oriental garden, the air still heavy w/the perfume of lilies that have long since gone to sleep

I totally surprised myself by falling head over heels w/the smooth creaminess of this beautiful fragrance in Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria collection. while Lys Soleia is classified as a fruity floral, on my skin it’s very floriental—exotic and slightly wild; no fruitiness whatsoever. I love florals, but I tend to avoid orientals and even florientals as they generally don’t work w/my body chemistry, so I’m beyond delighted that this one does <3 the lily, ylang, and vanilla are the most obvious notes on me, w/a somewhat linear drydown that reveals hints of musk. I usually don't care for vanilla, but this is subtle and elegant, not the artificial olfactory assault of some vanillas

sillage is good for ~4+ hours on me, then it softens to more of a skin scent w/8+ hours longevity. I wear this in both daytime and nighttime, as it works well for both on me; but I can’t bring myself to wear it beyond September, and it stays tucked away until June (darn OCD)

;)

Too lovely for words. But so fleeting. Very deceiving because when applied it has enough character to make me think it will stick around. Lys Soleia is a pretty little liar and I love her anyway.

bibidee

Lys Soleia wears so differently in warm weather than it does in cold. This was a blind buy this past February and was a big disappointment. I couldn't figure out what all the positive reviews were about. I tried it several times and it was so dull and flat on me. As the weather is turning slightly warmer, I tried this again to see how it will wear and I am so happy I didn't give this away! I'm finally getting the beautiful, creamy, sweet floral I've been reading about. The cold, flat lily that had me convinced I didn't like lily scents had transformed into this lush, buttery, sweet floral, and the ylang and vanilla finally made an appearance. I'm so glad I have this.
Update: 7 hours later and it's still here :-) The fresh lily and bright citrus are gone and what’s left is the impression of the silkiest ylang-scented vanilla custard with traces of lily on top.

colorfulmess

It transports me to beach on an island in the Caribbean. I smell sugar cane fields, banana leaves, palms, and coconut. The vanilla transports you a coffee shop on the island, and the lily is a stand in for a blooming native flower wafting in the breeze wherever you go. I receive lots of compliments on this one. Its green, creamy, and summery. I love it!

Erinbath22

This perfume is really wonderful and plays with my senses. It's like sticking your nose down into a lily. Really! Then, as you lift your face from the lily, a little warm breeze carries over a whiff of sweet mint and it all swirls together smoothly. I know the notes don't include mint, so I don't know what seems minty in this- maybe palm leaf? Oh well.
Rarely does a perfume give me an experience rather than a direct scent. Kind of magical. Very unique. When I try to smell it I can't...Then when I forget and move on to some other thought, the lily/sweet minty breeze swirls around me again. Very fun!

tiababy

I first tried this in the winter and it was a strong dislike, it actually reminded me of HP eau sensuelle for some reason. I'm trying it again now that it's warm and this time I really like it! Rich, velvety sunkissed tropical flowers. This really sparkles in the heat.

schneelily

At first it smells perfectly lily as it’s easy to imagine petals and pollen. It starts greenly like even men can use, but that is only for short time. The sweetness of gardenia, ylang ylang and fruits (I think lily + fruits feels like tiare) comes out and vanilla will smell as often. Nevertheless, because the contrast of lily white and green is still in the base, it's kept in refinedness, a beautiful fragrance all the way to the end. Changes in lily scent are fun, that is like changes from lily which bloomed in the flower bed outside to the lily scent in the vase in a room.

Besides a fruit-like part, I don't feel much of the elements of "Soleil", rather quiet and dark, relaxing image. I feel it's more like the bedroom suits better than under the sun.

I like this kind of sweetness very much because it is like I'm in a closed botanical garden with transparent honey laziness. It is not sweetness of the gourmand, and it is completely different from the floral vanilla like other typical perfumes.

I bought this for spring, but I would like to use it in summer and winter as well.

raw umber

I received this is a wonderful swap and feel I must review it even though I have only worn it twice so far.

Lys Soleia must, MUST be tested on skin. I tried it on paper first and it smelled totally different than how it smells when worn on my body, which is not true of all the perfumes I own.

On my skin, the non-sweet lemon opening is there but minimal, leading to a bright, sweet and clean floral with a milky green stems/green banana facet.

Vanilla emerges in the drydown with the melon-like ylang and tuberose persisting in addition to the lily. I get 2/3 lily, 1/3 ylang-tuberose blend.

People compare this to Songes but I would say that Lys is the day version, and Songes is for night, as Songes is more powdery, slightly more old fashioned, more heady, jasmine-centric and a little dirty.

Lys is brighter, lighter, and juicier. They're both outstanding tropical florals in addition to being proper perfumes with distinct openings, middles, and ends.

curlykitty8

This starts out with an almost carnal jolt, meaty and fleshy but
dries down to a spice laden delight that sadly doesn't last long
enough to be worth your while.

Blind-buy....based on reviews.
WOW !!!
At first sniff I get citrus/fruity...then the lily takes the lead.....a smooth, almost, peppery-ish dry lily. This lily is not the over-bearing type...IMO.
The beauty of this comes in the dry-down....an OMG...type of moment. LOVE IT !! Has that typical "Guerlainade" for sure. My first try at the Allegoria line, and I am eager to try a few more.

9/10 rating
Sillage: medium plus
Longevity: medium

This scent stays with me in a cloud/circle type way, it reminds you that it is still "with you". I have found that in other Guerlain scents as well.

pozimhoff

Liquid sunshine. Lily but with a bit of modesty. The dry down is well worth the wait.

cd2012

One of my favorite perfumes. A delicate white lily, surrounded by smooth ylang-ylang, palm leaf-which I imagine as a very subtle green, vanilla and a hint of fruits & florals. I don't detect tuberose and the citrus is there only to add brightness but the lily is the protagonist. I agree with other reviewers on the sun-warmed skin feel, though I'd wear it any time of the yr. Longevity on me is about 4 hrs. I just reapply after that. It does't project too much, which I like.
@Sindri - yes! so like "sunlight in winter," and smelling it makes me happy, like sunlight on skin.

fyre92

This is beautiful. The dry down is sooooooo omg

Similar to baiser vole but this veers off into guerlinade ish way. It has vibes of shalimar in it.

Edemay

Thank you again to the lovely people that suggested this to me.
Im in love.
Buttery tuberose with fresh lily. I also smell thick honey which is probably ylang and vanilla. Citrus also gives this a sparkling quality.
This will be perfect for my vacation this summer.

Very successful blind buy! This one is deliciously summery, white/yellow floral and tropical, but with a lighter, more transparent and easy going character than many other in the same family, like Bronze Goddess, Elle L'aime, Guerlain's own Terracotta, or any monoi perfume. This one is strictly floral though, without the usual lime and/or coconut addition. The closest I've discovered is Songes by Annick Goutal, and I would like to address the differences between these. Songes is more powdery and slightly deeper and spicier than Lys Soleia, which has a more watery/aquatic feel, lighter, greener opening, and with a milkier and more innocent drydown. In other words, this has the characteristic lightness of the Aqua Allegorias, and it suits this combination of notes perfectly, summery and intoxicating yet light and breezy.

deakrek

Very overwhelming scent. At the beginning very unique and lovely but already a little too much. After 30 minutes it begins to be very very sweet lily-ish, almost sickeningly sweet. Only for lily lovers!

Madrona

This is so nice. So so so nice. The palm leaf is genius. I see a woman in blinding white flowy clothes in the sun. Bright, fresh, blissful without being sweet in the least. Celebratory. Thierry Wasser is growing on me.

thesheppardess

Yum.... this precious scent arrived the other day and I have been wearing it ever since. Perhaps I am trying to replicate the feeling warmer, dryer weather. I only tried this frag once, and it was on an unbearably warm day last year. I did manage to write a comment for myself, that this was glorious. Memory can sometimes be a little distorted but in this case, Lys Soleia was even more lovely than I had remembered.

Lilies but tempered with citrus to stop them from becoming too cloying. The musk and vanilla allow it to be appropriately mellow for any time of the year. Lys Soleia is a bottle of scent that I will finish without growing tired of. I am so happy I managed to find a bottle. I am very, very pleased with this Aqua Allegoria.
LS could go onto another shelf - a shelf titled More Than Love.

Edit: in the long run, LS has not co operated on my skin. Each time, she smells more and more like roasting parsnips. I am demoting her to the Like shelf. Fascinating how my views change as I really get to know a fragrance. This has been a complete turn around for me.

Agata654

I am so happy I managed to get a sample of this one, because I've been wanting to try it for ages!

The centre of the composition of Lys Soleia is definitely Lily and Vanilla... Unfortunately I often have a problem when lily is a major note in the fragrances and this one is no exception. It's fine when I apply it on my wrist only and smell from time to time, but when I wear it, the fragrance starts to overwhelm me. Even though vanilla is added to counteract the flowers, and adds a lot warmth to the composition, it's still very much wearisome ... I have the same problem with Baiser Vole by Carier unfortunately :( I just think that lily fragrances are not for me.

In terms of sillage, I'd stay it's moderate. The longevity is quite good, considering it's white floral scent from Aqua Allegoria line - it lasts around 5 hours on my skin.

jasminrose

lily lily lily and spices .... lovely

Second test:

I had this one in my swaplist but I decided to give it a chance, based on the reviewers.

The first test of Lys Soleia was a disaster and I didn't like it at all". What I smelled was strong blast of green flowers with banana tree leaves. Today I decided to test it again. Yep banana tree leaves at first but after some minutes it begin to soften a bit and now I smell almost sweet flowers. I don't smell tuberese yet and I hope it stays this way. This lily is not the same as in Baiser Vole line. Here is the lily greener somehow, fresh cut and tropical. How could I have been so wrong about this scent? Ja, that's is Guerlain, one more scent of this house you must get used to before you fall in love with. I'll keep it till the summer, I think it will be lovely then.

Spring is coming and outside is a perfect Sunny and cold day to take a walk. Under 4 degrees is Lys Soleia a wonderful scent, it is just perfect with wafts of semi sweet lily. It reminds Lys 41 Le Labo but fresher, more wearable and affordable. It was from hate to like but now it is in my love list.

PricklyAndHot

No beautiful lilies( Disappointment(((

Addict2Perfume

Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia is probably one of my best blind buys! Lys Soleia had some great reviews and I love, love, love lilies and ylang-ylang so I knew this would be a keeper. One of the things I love about lilies is that they have a very distinct floral scent with a crisp green undertone. This makes me think of green meadows after a gentle rain shower, there is something soothing and somber about this fragrance. The ylang-ylang adds the perfect touch of powdery sweetness. I absolutely love this fragrance and would highly recommend this to my fellow lily lovers!

mirkamm

I bought this 'cos all have praised it and I love lilies. I have to say that I was really disappointed. It was totally different than I had expected. However, I changed my mind, as every woman does sometimes and now I love it! Lys Soleia is like a hazy and cool morning in the garden. I can feel the damp grass between my toes and hear the birds singing when the Sun rises. The lily note is very realistic and it blends well with others. Longevity is very good, about 7 hours and sillage is moderate.

februaryapple

Blind buy gone wrong. Finding it online at a good price and wanting to try one of those pretty Allegoria bottles (actually this one looks less cool in real life), I went ahead after reading everyone's reviews on lovely blended flowers. I was a little hesitant about 'yellow' flowers, and turns out they're probably not for me and I'll be staying away from lily.

Actually, the first spray wasn't so bad. I don't mind strong florals such as this, it has a lot of punch. What gets me is what I'd call a sickly honey or nectar note that slowly starts to annoy me more minute by minute when I try to wear it. After a few attempts I decided I disliked it altogether.

Overall, high quality but definitely not for everyone. You really have to love lilies, sticking your nose deep to the insides with stamens and nectar, then it can be your sunshine and gardens and summer and flowers.

Museumgal

Ah this is perfect! The lily is green and fresh, but the vanilla and tuberose warm it up and smooth out the rough edges. The vanilla gives just a touch of sweetness -- lily can sometimes be very harsh and green but the vanilla is the perfect compliment. The notes smell very natural and true to life. Perfectly blended composition -- they all blend together well but you can still pick the notes out. Beautiful lily scent, may have bumped out Baiser Vole as my favorite! Lasts four hours, moderate sillage.

margoess

"Gorgeous" really is the perfect word for this perfume. This is such a beautiful, creamy, vanillic floral. I agree with the poster below who said the opening can be almost overwhelming on first spray, but it settles down very quickly. On me, it turns into a skin scent after an hour or two--but what a delicious skin scent! It's like sticking your nose right into a flower. You can smell the petals. One of the most naturalistic flower scents I've ever experienced. (At the same time, though, even though my nose says "absolutely, flower, no question!" I also get a note in the drydown that reminds me of Coca Cola. Not so strange, perhaps, since the recipe for Coke is supposed to contain things like neroli, vanilla, and citrus oils.) I think this one would be a bit too heady and waxy for really hot, humid days; but on a cooler, still sunny day like today, it's perfection. Just lovely.

Angelica 000

I am buying a (more??) back up when I finish this review! Whenever I can I fill the house with lilies, of every kind.Anyone who loves them will know the "after dark" smell they have that is almost narcotic. This is it! I almost swooned (nice ladylike saying) when I applied it, that fresh/but green/but creamy/ but sexy enveloping perfume...LOVE,LOVE,LOVE.

Hipchick40

Soheepark, I'd give this about 5 hours longevity. Maybe a bit more? I have worn this so often I am finding it hard to really know. But it is soooooo worth it because the scent truly is gorgeous. I reapply once before evening. Sometimes though, if I spray it before bed, I notice it quite clearly in the morning still. Maybe it's because I don't move around much while sleeping? In any case, there are relatively inexpensive bottles on line. I'd go for it if I was you!

SoheePark

Everyone says this smells gorgeous. The ingredients are ones that I like too. I need to ask, how many hours does it last?? Thanks

w_nmbo

The beginning of the perfume is quite strong and honestly a little bit overwhelming. But the drydown is amazingly beautiful. I really love the smell that I feel after two hours.

shamy

One of my favs in Guerlain. But it was a limited edition. Again only if the sales go through the roof they make it a regular assortment. and that goes for every brand. I have the benefit of knowing when they are limiteds or if they are going to be discontinued. SO if its something i truly love I stock up on it.

mrjohn12

I adore this one. I work as a receptionist in an office where employees frequently have flowers delivered to them by clients. On the occasion that we get lilies delivered, I always wait to call the employee so that I can have a few more minutes with that divine scent.

This one is a true lily bouquet in its best possible form. It gives off an incredible sunny warmth that is perfect for both summer and rainy days. I find myself hypnotized and reaching for this one more often.

One caveat, it doesn't last very long and it dries into the typical Guerlain Vanilla after a couple hours. Oh well, I'm happy to start the journey again and again with more sprays.

dkny27

I get so much lily and tuberose... So sweet, so yellow.. Then comes the green, palm, citrus... What a diversely unique scent.. Like walking through a blooming flower garden and distinctly making a mental note, capturing "that memory of the moment".
The dry down gets warmer and sweet... such a pretty fragrance!

Alex1984

@Hipchick40: it's complicated with the Aqua Alegorias; they come and go with little fanfare. I heard it's been discontinued, but then again it's widely available in some places. In Spain for instance it's easily found, along Jasminora and Nerolia Bianca which are also rumored discontinued. My advice is stock up all you can because sooner or later it'll be gone. If Terracotta is available near you give it a try, as a similar alternative. Also, if circumstances permit, Le Labo Lys 41 is a very good albeit more expensive choice.

Hipchick40

WI am finally ready to profess my love, loud and clear! I. Love. Lys. Soleia! It is yellow. Pure unadulterated yellow. Lily to the max and I love it so! As others have said, it's like sunshine in a bottle. I'd feel totally comfortable wearing this all four seasons because it is both deep and light at the same time. I'd say it's like the rays of sunshine vs. the sun itself. It adds life to a dreary day and it plays off the light the sun shines down. To be fair, I often mix this with either pampelune or ylang and vanille, not because it can't stand alone but because it just gets along with everyone so well! Lily. Some ylang. A smidge of citrus. Airy musk. A dash of vanilla. I agree with others that the lily is slightly green and I believe that is what keeps this potion from becoming sickly sweet or cloying. It isn't the best in terms of longevity but that doesn't bother me because I enjoy spraying liberally. As far as sillage goes, I'd say it's arms length or even a little more. People compliment me and whenever I ask if it's too much, everyone says no. So spray away and enjoy heaven in a bottle. I know I will!
Oh, before I go, does anyone know if this has been discontinued? If so, I must stock up now because I never want to be without my new summer signature juice.
Thanks @Alex1984! You've provided me with a new twist to explore :-)

BetsyMeszaros

This is your typical Thierry Wasser perfume. Heavy on the sweet side with lots of vanilla and just enough other ingredients to keep it from smelling cheap.

I blind bought this after reading a review where someone said it smelled like the stargazer lillies in her garden. She must have a totally different variety of stargazer lilly then I have. Nor can I smell any white lilly. I think this is because the lilly is so overpowered by something that smells very much like honeysuckle.

I like this but I don't need a second bottle. I'm not a big fan of the Aqua Allegoria series to begin with. This will do but it's not great.

Peta22

Yet another blind buy for me... I'm trying to find a 'holiday' fragrance for our trip to Cambodia and the Aqua Allegoria series has now come up on my radar. This was on sale and the mention of tropical fruits piqued my interest. When I first experienced Lys Soleria - the moment I tore open the package as soon as it arrived - I was rather perplexed... I'd hoped it would be instant love but I felt more intrigued. I could smell the banana mentioned in prior reviews, and I find the Ylang Ylang to be very noticeable, but predominantly it reminds me of honeysuckle from when I was a kid. Maybe the lily? This buttery, creamy, floral honeysuckle note I'm getting is what has confused me. I felt as if I should dislike it and yet I couldn't stop sniffing it. It's grown on me over the past couple of days... each time I pass my perfume collection, my hand is drawn to Lys Soleria to spray and experience again. It softens considerably on me after an hour or so but I'm looking at it for a hot, humid, summer fragrance and the weather here at home is cooling considerably now. I think the longevity and projection will be perfect in the heat. I was focusing on green, fresh, citrus scents for this holiday but this creamy, floral maybe taking the lead! I've just ordered a second bottle - I somehow can't bare the idea of running out of this!

SumoTigerCat

I don't like lilies. Nor 'foody' or 'fruity' fragrances.

But oh, my gosh, do I love this! Lys Soleia is white lily surrounded by ylang ylang and a small amount of tuberose. It is so fresh, with a nice touch of green. I'm reminded of getting ready to eat a bowl of sliced bananas and kiwi, with cream.

Lys Soleia is upping my mood big time on this cold, snowy day. I have a bottle in my virtual shopping cart right now, as I've gotta have this for Summer! Thanks to a perfume friend for the nice decant! <3

pepperoniann

IN LOVE! Ladies and gent this is the perfect demo of well-blended white and yellow floral. Lys Soleia smells like coziness in a bottle with fresh lily note and well-disguised ylang-ylang. When that extra touch of creamy vanilla kicks in at around an hour... ahhhhhhh! I can use this day and night, sitting at home or hanging out with gal pals, or even on a date!

Approachable, versatile, creamy, transparent, and a little bit tropical. This is everything I wanted my AA Ylang and Vanille to be. For folks that are chasing after that 1999 smell, you really aren't missing much, if not spoiled by an even better option!

This has got to be one of the two most successful blind buys I made. I have a 4.2 oz bottle but I'll grab another one online since this is being discontinued.

Oh! And I just started to smell musky tuberose after 2 hours of wear and it's also lovely :)

Kayse

Fresh and rich at the same time. I'm in love! I've always wanted a stargazer lily smell to wear, and here it is finally! I'm testing on a cold day and it's amazing though I suspect it will be more glorious in warm weather. So far, I adore the Aqua Allegoria perfumes I've bought. The prices are good and the quality is excellent.

Mooniq

A true beauty if you love Lilly, Tubereuse, Vanilla & Musk. Very fresh, works all year but I think Lys Soleia shines at her best in warmer weather.

En liten skatt om du älskar Lilja, Tuberose, Vanilj och Musk. Fräsch, funkar året om men jag tror att Lys Soleia skiner bäst i varmare väder.

The Wandering Fern

This smells so nice from the bottle; however, once on my skin it turns into this high-pitched screechy plastic My Little Pony scent that gives me a migraine. Darn.

mondaniaux

I still can't place this yet... It smells familiar to me...it reminds me of something from my childhood. I grew up in the tropics and Lys Soleia doesn't really remind me of flowers, but of a delicacy made with glutinous rice and coconut milk wrapped in banana or coconut leaves called suman. I like the smell , I couldn't stop smelling my wrist, but I'm not sure I would really like to wear a rice cake scent.

yeahprettymuch

I just purchased this as a gift for my mother because she loves white florals and Guerlain is one of the most reliable names in perfume (I'm yet to smell a Guerlain perfume that isn't interesting or delightful). She bought me Flora Nymphea for my birthday recently and we both adore it so I decided to get her another from the Aqua Allegoria collection. I can definitely smell the lily, vanilla and tuberose in this, which is a really delightful, creamy combination. It's very summery because of the florals and the lingering citrus, but I find the creaminess would work well over winter too. Lys Soleia is absolutely gorgeous. If you can get your hands on it, definitely give it a go.

arrozrojo

I tried this one on a hot humid summer day and honestly thought it smelled like what an old lady would wear  I wanted to like as much as I love Mandarine Bassilic but just found “old lady” ish.. although the drydown was nice, soft, floral and lasted a long time on my skin..
guess i´ll give it another try, I love the whole concept of Aqua Allegoria being simple accords, fresh and invigorating scents for hotter days, but this one was just so creamy and rich on me I was surprised!

Fhaldara

I just got a sample of this recently, but it took me some time to decide if I liked it - final verdict, yes I do! The 1st time I tried it I thought it too sweet and powdery for my taste, although still a pretty scent. On the 2nd and 3rd tries I began to get the fresh green 'grassy'notes with a tiny bit of citrus, lasting about 3 hours on me, then the lily and ylang-ylang became predominant. As many other reviewers have noted it is indeed a very 'summery' scent.

Kitty48

I have a small sample size bottle of this, from a set. I did spray the full size tester when I bought the set in Paris and the smell seems very different now. The first thing that hits me when I dab this on is cucumber??? Yes I get cucumber, how weird is that, because there's no such thing in the notes - unless it's melon in the tropical fruit! It does certainly smell of lilies and has that smoky scent that they have, although smoke is not one of the notes.

I'm not certain how I feel about this yet, I'll try dabbing some on a tissue because that tends to give a very different effect.

Summing up, if I had the full size of this I think it would be an evening perfume, something for summer holiday nights in a warm climate. It's redolent of tropical blossoms at dusk and I don't think it really suits a grey October morning in the UK!

soleia

This was the first fragrance I bought after 5 years of not wearing perfume. It took all of 5 minutes to convince me at the duty free. I was a complete newbie then and it could have gone wrong, but no - it turned out to be an excellent purchase.

The notes on here are very representative of the scent - lily, ylang, vanilla, so I'll talk in terms of impressions instead: Lys Soleia feels warm and golden and bright. Even though it is creamy, there is a certain spiciness.
It's very easy to wear really and appropriate for all hours. It's perfect for summer, while I think that cooler weather kills it.
Longevity is around 4-5 hours but I still get tiny wafts around 8 hours in. Sillage is average.

All in all, I find it very alluring, so I always wear it on my birthday, when I know everybody will be hugging me - lol!

patxaran

A tropical "green" fragrance, but definitely a warm green. Like the previous review says I am not the biggest fan of lily either but here it is just to balance the sweetness of vanilla and tuberose. Lys Soleia to me smells like a late morning, a sunny day in the caribbean or somewhere else pretty tropical. The lasting power isn't the greatest but maybe that's because I tend to reach for this on hot summer days! After 10 mins or so the lily disappears and it smells just like a lush tropical garden or greenhouse, banana included.

VintageViolet_

I just discovered this today, and it's beautiful!

Don't be put off by the lilies - I'm not a huge fan of lily notes but the lily in this recedes after the first 10 minutes and gives way to a sweet BANANA note!! (On me anyway, my lovely local Guerlain lady agreed!)

I got this on sale as it's been discontinued..... get yours quick!

StellaDiverFlynn

Although I do get a light peppery and green aspect teasing a fresh lily during the first few minutes, the first 4 hours of Lys Soleia on me is dominated by a tropical bouquet of ylang-ylang and frangipani, with a slightly ripe melon-like undertone, even a bit of coconut at first. Fortunately, the scent is very smooth and doesn't have a certain sharp chemical edge like in some less refined tropical scents.

With time, there is also a tuberose adding a lactonic nuance. And sometimes, I also get the illusion of gardenia. But with the tropical characteristics fading into background, I finally get in the drydown a velvety lily with musky vanilla swirling around. It's creamy, milky, sweet but far from being sugary. Cozy, fluffy but with grace, actually it's what I expected Cartier Baiser Volé Essence de Parfum to be.

The sillage of Lys Soleia is moderate at first, but drops to a skin scent after about 2 hours and lasts another 9 hours. Personally, I do not perceive Lys Soleia as a lily soliflore as the tropical elements within distract me a lot from doing so. But I'd highly recommend it to those who're looking for a tropical floral or a floral vanilla fragrance.

julieekerr

this is a very pretty simple citrus into light floral vanilla scent .It disappears moderately quickly and only lasts a few hours max. on my skin. if you want a clean non fussy pretty cirtus vanilla this is perfect.
I have a number from this collection and this one stood out as the loveliest

Jose Marcos

This is a truly wonderful scent. It opens with a blast of lily, ylan and some sweet tropical fruit. Most of the time I sense no citrus at all, sometimes a soft lemon. The floral remains and the fruit becomes a very realistic and not so ripe pawpaw/papaya. Later, there's a hint of coconut and Lys Soleia gets a bit smoky. Soon tuberouse and vanilla come in and the Guerlain effect is at its best. At first I get a L'Heure Bleue feeling, but by now it is all about Guerlain vanilla, so characteristic, so Guerlainish. Everything is veru ballanced out, no sharp corner left. Only a silky smooth floral that lasts quite long on me. For me Lys Soleia should be a unissex scent. It's very clean and elegant, at the same time. Comfortable. Luminous. Summer. Guerlain.

Joan Marie Bauman

What can we all do, who desperately love this divine fragrance, to convince the Guerlain People to KEEP THIS PERFUME!!? I love it so much! And I have a cupboard full of wonderful perfumes! Everything said below by others about sunshine on Lilies and the joy and happiness of summertime, or springtime, with sun-warmed skin and a song in one's heart...all of this holds true for me and more. It supplants just about every other perfume on my 'I LOVE IT' list! Just exquisite! I even wore it to bed every night for over a year. It makes me happy when skies are gray! You are my sunshine, Lys Soleia! But Guerlain discontinues its most sublime Aqua Allegoria fragrances with no qualms, and I have become paranoid about this most perfect one! They actually did away with Lillia Bella! How could they? So I have bought 4 more bottles of this superlative Joy Juice, and hope that Guerlain will have the Great Good Idea of continuing this one alongside with Herba Fresca, another List-topper for me, as well as Pamplelune. I do recall several years ago when Hermès came out with a one-year limited new perfume - Un Jardin en Méditerranée. This perfume kept me going through one of the darkest years of my life. And I stocked up on 10 bottles of it! Needlessly! For everybody else loved it so much that it was prolonged for one year, then another, and now Hermès, good for them, has understood and keeps it going along with the other 3 "Jardin" scents. Had I but known!
So, I"m hoping against hope that the Guerlain folks will look at the Hermès success, and learn from them! Write to Guerlain, everybody! Snow them under with a blizzard of love letters for this deserving creation!

jadejoann4

This is Annick Goutal's Songes. Seriously cant tell the difference. I hope that in a few hours it will become something else. I dont care for Songes anymore. When i sprayed it was vanilla only. NOW its something i didnt want!!

Softfox

Not the type of scent i normally seek, but when i first tried , it immediately captivated me. It is so comforting, takes me to a blissful, happy place filled with sunshine. Quite sweet and girly but in a magical way. My first guerlain.

brettashley

Amazing. Creamy, gorgeous, and smells like sunshine. I have to restrain myself from getting more than one bottle (I rarely go through a whole bottle of perfume) out of some wild fear that Guerlain will stop making it. I also reach for it less often than I want to for that reason - it honestly smells like sun on white florals, and is probably the first perfume to make me understand how beautiful lilies can smell. There's something sweetly vanillic underneath it all too, but not in a sickly way - just enough to add warmth. It smells like an illusion of golden, sun-warmed skin.

Ughhh I might have to get another bottle just so I can spray with abandon this summer.

Fiordiligi

I'd like to update my previous review, as the weather has changed and so has the fragrance. On a dry frosty day Lys Soleia offered no more irises for me but a well-rounded lily. It opened as a white lily scent, solemn and a bit tart, but gradually grew into the same summer sunshine glory as the other day, like a crispy summer morning turning into a bright warm day. The drydown was still fabulous. So was the fragrant cloud that stayed in the room where I sprayed it on myself. The subtle tender scent still coming from furniture and curtains vaguely reminded me of some white floral my mom had used back in the eighties for 'a night in the opera' occasion. No surprise I sprayed myself with Lys Soleia before going to the opera myself. Yet, it must have been too cold (precisely -20C) for the fragrance to work its magic and transform a winter evening into a summer morning. No more summer flowers this time for me, just spices and honey. A warm nice scent but it reminded me of gingerbreads and other spicy pastries I rather tend to dislike. Luckily, the frost subcided on the very morning and now I can revel in the golden lily cloud.

Mary-Jayne

This is like a bottle of summer! I have just impusle purchased this because, in stark contrast to the gloomy British winter, which is brooding, grey, dark and damp, this is so vibrant, happy, sunny and uplifting.
I have developed the habit of popping into the department store if I pass through town to refresh my perfume (wearing a lot of guerlain at the moment) and I saw a tester bottle on the counter and gave it a squirt, and was blasted with summer! I swear it was like one of those adverts where the grey lifts and suddenly I was on a beach somewhere, with the sun beating down, calypso drums beating, sipping a malibu and coke under a palm-thatched beach hut.
I am not normally a big fan of sweet fruity smells but this one is just so happy! I was struggling at first to think what this reminded me of, and I realised I was smelling, well it smells of coconut and papaya, which is probably why I was thinking of malibu and coke, a hint of suntan lotion (British stuff, no idea what other countries sun lotions smell like), the smell of the sun beating down onto the pavement, I get the fruits buy they don't smell sickly or over sweet, and the yellow florals balance very well. I expect good quality from guerlain (despite le petite robe noire which is awful) so I decided, sod it, lets buy this golden bottle of sunshine!
I haven't worn it properly yet but from my sample spray projection seems moderate and longevity pretty good, I sprayed onto the back of my hand and several hours and hand washes later I could still faintly smell it up close.
I think I might dig out one of my summer dresses and layer it with this, some wooly tights and a big woolen cardigan and pretend its summer again!

Fiordiligi

I fell in love with this fragrance yesterday, on a warm and humid winter morning. I had a heavy coat and a still heavier backpack on me. Yet, I felt like I had been dancing in a summer garden wearing a light floating dress. It started with a light wave so familiar I couldn't even say if I liked it or not, just that it was something of my very own past. It was like a tune from a far that you know long seconds before properly recognizing it. The feeling grew to the bridge of unbearable and I was already some time out of the shop when the realization hit me. I walked in a cloud of iris scent, not a sophisticated, elegant 'iris from the bottle' kind of scent but the true-to-life iris blossom from my mom's garden. It was the scent that launched me on an iris fragrance hunt some years ago. You stand on a garden path with your nose stuck into the wet petals of a newly blossomed iris. Each colour smells slightly different and you wish to prolong the scent for the days after the flowers are gone.
By evening the fragrance grew more lily like and creamy but there was nothing amiss of its sunny loveliness.

So, Lys Soleia is definitely a "sunny" scent. It can fit at times like this: you're having holiday on sunny beach... with the sand, sea, and the breezy wind, along with the palm trees, surround you. It's a tropical scent indeed. I can smell the Lemon, perhaps the Palm, and definitely the Ylang-Ylang scents too. For sunnier times, I do consider this fragrance as a keeper. :D

Summer in a bottle. It smells like clean warm skin, flowers in the garden and a fresh cool drink oh and cucumber sandwiches!!! Yup, my nose seems to detect cucumber sandwiches - daintily cut and on a little porcelain afternoon tea tray. It is uplifting, and now I can't get the cucumber out of my head - dash it, I will have to go and eat cucumber sarnies until I am satiated!

For me it opened, Sour, sharp and lily and green melon, , then it settles down like a ripe regal lily and fresh, i like this part the most pleasant and delicious, quite sexy and delicate, this last for quite a while then it turns more super sweet tropical and ripe green melon

A Sweet tropical sexy scent with good strength and length. I will be purchasing a bottle, great in warmer weather,

Top notes: bergamot, lemon and palm leaves. Heart: lily, ylang-ylang, and tropical fruits. Base: tuberose, vanilla and white musk.

Gorgeous! One of the few white florals I can stand. I would say it is more yellow floral but still a strong scent. Although it is not listed the florals and vanilla blend together to create a honey note. Sweet and subtle. Perfect for summer heat!

I kid you not, it smells IDENTICAL to Garnier Ambre Solaire sun protecting oil! I want this perfume no more. This is summer in a bottle but you'll smell the same with a Garnier oil on your body for a fraction of the price;)

The scent is beautiful, though.

Lovely lily!

This definitely smells like a Madonna Lily, it's blended and balanced perfectly

I think the tropical fruit gives it that ripe fruit edge that lilies have. Also the very subtle touch of tuberose gives it the lightly animalic touch (don't worry if, like me, you're a bit tuberose sensitive, it's not at all strongly evident).

Whenever I've had a vase of Madonna lilies in my home, I notice that just before they're on the turn they have the slightly rotten-tinged edge of decaying fruit. Lys Soleia captures the day or so before they turn- that lovely full ripeness that fills the room.

But this is light, and the subtle touch of vanilla and Amalfi lemon brings in the sunshine. I imagine the Ylang is what gives it that sunny sun-tan cream/day-at-the-beach feel too.

But it's blended so well that all of those separate aspects don't distract from the sense of simple sunny, authentic lily.

As mentioned there's a very mild animalic touch (musk/indoles and tuberose?) so there's a subtly sexy edge to this. Enough so that I'd not wear if for business-like meetings, but for almost any day-time summer occasion, it's near perfect.

I also have Baiser Vole, which I love, and would wear for a business situation as it's more clean, bright and green - very elegant, I love both these lily perfumes equally, and would say Baiser Vole is a lily that's fresh cut from a greenhouse in the morning, whereas Lys Soleia is basking in the afternoon sunshine in a warm country, or exuding perfume from a vase of fully opened blooms

Silage - light, longevity - a few hours and fades to more vanilic while retaining the lily feel. Glad I have a full bottle!

What a gorgeous tropical-floral fragrance! Rich creamy lilies, ylang and tuberose meld with a cool, fresh vanilla accord and just a pinch of bright tropical fruit. The palm leaf brings a refreshing greenness to the fragrance and blends seamlessly with the creamy florals. As someone who doesn’t usually enjoy tuberose, this combination of notes would normally run a high risk of turning bitter on me. Thankfully, this is a masterful blend of smooth florals and vanilla on my skin.

Lys Soleia somehow manages to be light and airy at the same time that it is creamy, fleshy, and luxurious. It is sensuous in an understated way, with a delicate sweetness reminiscent of sun-warmed pollen. Wearing this fragrance is an uplifting experience that feels like breathing in a soft, cool breeze in a sunny tropical garden. There is definitely a kinship to the gorgeous Songes from Annick Goutal, but Lys Soleia is lighter, greener, and less sweet.

Lys Soleia lasts reasonably well, considering its light, airy quality. After applying two sprays this morning, I was enveloped in a soft sillage for several hours. Having said that, you could also spray this more generously without it becoming heavy or cloying. This is my favourite Aqua Allegoria release to date - a beautiful and exotic floral that I will be wearing often this summer.

This is the most pleasant perfume I ever had among my perfume collection!! When I first time sniffed at it I thought this is calm lazy sunny summer days in a bottle. It is alot of lilys which is my favorite flower! I can classify it like a classy, feminine, expensive perfume!! I LOVE IT!!!!

Mooniq

Thanx Allinug for the sample.
Very nice every-day-scent. A bit shy and skinclose but stays for many hours. Perfect for summerevenings.

Tack Allinug för provet.
Väldigt trevlig varje-dag-doft. Lite blyg och hudnära men stannar ändå på huden i många timmar. Perfekt för sommarkvällarna.

So when I tried it at Sephora 6 months ago, I loved it,I thought it was bright, luminous, summer in a bottle, I received my bottle today and I don't get that same excitement at all, strange, it appears more classy, almost oldish, very rich, very golden in tone, I detect a certain spiciness also, I dont know, my taste must have taken a definite turn!! I don't find it so soft nor delicate, more present, and quite floral.

Christinasegal123

I received this beautiful bottle today and I just don't get the summer reference, to me it is springtime madness. The lilies are intense, the tuberose is soft not overwhelming. There is a faint resemblance of musk and the vanilla is there but I don't smell to much sweet. It's a very creamy and gorgeous floral!

originaldeftom

On my (endless) quest for new products and spring-time inspiration, I came across this "Zenith" of a summer fragrance. If Jil Sander "Sun" smells of late PM sun and/or sunset, this one is the mid AM to noon one and it just "glistens"!
Very 'tolerable' use of tuberose that very often is just too much for me, but here just blends beautifully among the ylang-ylang, musk and vanilla concotion with the added tropical touch of palm leaf, white lilly and exotic fruits.
Thiery Wasser is a genius and one of the best noses around today.

BTW I find "Lys Mediterranee" by Frederic Malle is the male summer scent counterpart to this.

Lali123

At the first sniffed I loved it! At the second one I thought: wait a minute, it's exactly the same of L'erbolario Tiarè!!! It's a warm and sweet fragrance, definetly a summer one. Reminds me esotic places and shores. Surprise to find out that there isn't any tiarè or monoi (maybe is the ylang-ylang to mislead my nose?). Anyway, a good perfume. But I think I'm going for the cheaper version!!

I was in the duty free store in Hong Kong and I saw that they had a section for discontinued perfumes where this little number was slashed to 40% off. Bargain - could not resist! [Note: this one is currently being discontinued.] For me, on first whiff, I smelt that classic guerlain french sophistication in a bottle. Lily and Ylang Ylang combining with vanilla and musk in a fresh, summery showdown which all in all creates an addictive and happy office/day time scent. Like most of the Allegora range, I find I have to apply with quite a heavy hand in order to get oomph and decent sillage out of it. But I'm quite proud of my basement bargain for the gorgeous flacon alone, and it makes me feel quite the pretty, sophisticated woman when bathed in this. P.s: I do not smell much tuberose at all in this - thank the stars!

Even though there are piles of snow outside now, this perfume just hits me in the face with SUMMER! It reminds me of skin that's been in the sun all day on the beach and now i'm just wandering around in a small, lovely, flowery town in Italy or Portugal, showing of my newly taned skin and eating mango sorbet. The air is really warm and almost thick, but there's a light breeze coming in from the sea. It's the smell of grass also and it feels like something new and exotic for me. Like the first whiff of the air when you arrive in a warm country and get of the plane in the night. And you see palm trees for the first time and the ground is really dusty and dry and the sky is dark blue and you think that life is really lovely. yes.

Edit: I find that I really don't like to wear this. It is a memory bottled in a perfume, but it feels to litteral to wear it.

Nmarissac

Warm sunny fragrance on me, nice vanillic drydown. Doesn't last very long on me though, and the sillage is very soft also. I like it, but I don't love it.

Eicher

Very nice light fragrance. The sillage on me is rather weak, and the longevity not longer than 3 hours.
To use in spring/summer time.

busik

And wanted to say: "The smell of summer!" Very in tune with Monoi Eau des Vahines Yves Rocher.

dormir6

Beautiful!!!! I'm delighted! Fantastic! Real pleasure. Light like falling petals, filling your lungs with life. The first breath from spring, real happyness. Absolutly natural, not overdone, comes from the heart of flowers.

MoreScentsThanSense

This is interesting. Definitely a beachy scent. (A beachy Guerlain? Sounds funny!)
Starts with a fresh airy lily- but that's just the first impression. After 15' or so it has been transformed to a gorgeous full bloom creamy ylang ylang. The lily is still present but more subtle and an interesting ''green'' note comes through. As time goes by, it becomes even more thick, creamy and sweet (more pronounced vanilla- ylang ylang and a hint of musk)

Most summer scents are refreshing, but not this (except the very top notes) It's creamy and warm but not in a foody way of course. Makes me think of skin heated from the sun and sunscreen, calming composition indeed. I don't know why, but it brings to my mind the quiet, lazy summer noons of my childhood...

Divine white bouquet of Casablanca lilies with a hint of vanilla in the background, this fragrance lasts for hours on me. It has been one of my favourite summer perfumes this year, plus I love love the Aqua Allegoria bottles.

KateAnette

Have tried this a few times. It's pretty, and what comes to my mind when sniffing this, is that it is very Annick Goutal-ish. It has the same vibe as many of the AG's, pretty, feminine and very floral.

If I should be portrayed with a picture how Lys Soleia smells exactly on my skin, I so I would do...: This perfume like a glinting sunlight in a golden honey drop what is sitting on a blooming lily petal. This perfume is instantly captured and bottled sunlight.:)

Lys Soleia is a beautiful and sprightly perfume. I'd call it diffusive and luxurious. So far,- next to Flora Nymphea-, this blend is another well-made and highly enjoyable floral scent from the Aqua Allegoria line.Currently two lily-based summer fragrance I have in my collection, one is Lys Soleia ( I just love the name:), another is Baiser Volé by Cartier,-and I really love them both!:)

Lys Soleia is a realistic image of the sun drenched flower, it's a breezy white floral perfume with tropical facets. The scent very green and crisp during the opening but as it dries down it stays focused on the lily. The tropical flowers give a spicy edge to the breezy medley. The main chord is a sunkissed, creamy, honeyed lily smell-unexpectedly exotic and "gold-smelling".Before the whole thing settles down to a musky velvet, vanilla gives a spiky quality to the balanced sweetness.
Lys Soleia is a remarkable and memorable fragrance, contrary to many white floral perfumes on the market nowadays.

Is it true that this perfume intented for summer wear,I still would say this scent is could be too overpowering and headache-causing in hot weather. So I recommend to apply moderate or use it on the cooler summer days.

I think, Lys Soleia takes a little more than I expected from a lily-based fragrance. It turned to be my new summer favorit, and on those cloudy days when I need a big dose of sunlight, definitely this perfume is that I firstly reached for.

Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia is a piece of art, a sunkissed, beautiful still life.

missk

I love the scent of a fresh bouquet of lilies, however when perfumers try to replicate the scent of flowers in nature, they often fail. Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia for once, has surprisingly captured the sunny and refreshing qualities of a bunch of lilies, and for that I'm truly grateful.

To my nose, Lys Soleia isn't a strict soliflore. It actually relies quite heavily on the tropical fruit accords to add some sweetness and vitality to the composition. The lily note smells honeyed and feminine for the most part, which I really find myself enjoying.

Many have some negatives things to say in regards to the most recent Aqua Allegoria releases. Well, I don't understand what they're getting at, I've enjoyed both this fragrance and last year's Jasminora immensely. I consider them two of the best Spring appropriate white florals in the last few years.

Due to this fragrance's brightness, I'm reminded of beautiful Summer days spent in a country garden. Most lily based scents are dewy and green, but this little wonder is like a ray of sunshine; yellow, powdery and honeyed. I'm surprised that honey isn't listed in the official scent pyramid.

Lys Soleia is a sure crowd pleaser. It's also pleasantly soft and discreet, as to never offend those in close proximity. This scent makes me feel joyful and lively. There's nothing more appealing than a floral that dances on your skin, refreshing you on the hottest of days. I'll be sure to keep Lys Soleia in mind when Summer is in full swing later this year. I have a feeling that Lys Soleia and I will be good friends.

ruxxy

This is a nice, exotic and "solar" perfume, as the name says. It initially reminded me of Vera Wang Princess, but I dare to say that this is sweeter and more powdery (please note that I find VWP to be quite a fresh scent).

If I were to compare it with an everyday smell, the custard cream biscuits would be the exact answer - you smell and taste them and you don't need to test Lys Soleia anymore!

Having Lys Soleia on one wrist and my Donna Karan Gold on the other, they are REALLY similar and I like them both - very special smell! The resemblance could be explained by the fact that they both are lily-centered.

Still, the lilies in my garden do not smell like that, I have yet to find a perfume to reproduce that heady, powdery, slightly bitter scent of the real flower...

vincy_gal

I wanted to try it because of the lily and ylang..I love both a lot. Well that is not what I smelled at all! All I was able to detect was some horrible sour chemically smell...is it the benzoin? Hubby didn't much like it on me either. Not a fan.

DresdenDoll

I was fearful of this, being a lily fragrance, and lily being too strong in big doses, but the instant I sprayed it I couldn't believe how sweet it was! This reminds me so much of a sweet or candy from when I was a child, but I cannot remember what it was. There is the creaminess of ylang ylang and there is a tropical feel but it's not until the dry down that I can really smell any lily and it's still very sweet. Staying power is excellent though, a solid 10 hours or so.
Not what I expected but not bad.

Margarita1982

So summery but at the same time so feminine...excellent

vivik

Lily and ylang heaven, until the tuberose takes over...and still heaven. Citruses and palm leaf make great backgroung vocals.... Amazing.

lisa o

lys soleia is voluptious and narcotic, but well behaving. what probably rectifies the "aqua" in it's name...
opens with bits of citric and green notes and already much of the lily, quickly turns to much more lily with fruit (I find it papaya-like) calm vanilla and quite a lot of ylang-ylang. actually I find it also features a version of much loved "monoi" (the macerat of tiaré in coconut-oil). tuberose is there, but not at all loud or sickening...
and there's that creamy sun-lotion aspect, that is probably only my mind making it up because of the "monoi"-association. I find lys soleia strong but uncomplicated (in terms of relaxingly "not sophisticated") and cheerful.

LindyLou

This is a beautiful warm scent that smells a lot like honey. The lily is the main thing I notice in the fragrance. What makes it unique to me is how natural it smells.

marcello19

Smelled this one today, and OMG this is amazing. Sunny, sweet, tropical, unique. I have to retest it on my skin as well, but WOW!

AnnikaMK

Sweet, sunny, tropical but nowhere near 'Escada summer scent', this is more classy and better quality. I adore the ylang ylang but would have been happier without the buttery lily and tropical fruit (mostly banana and honeydew melon to my nose) as they make this too strong and sweet for my tastes. This is indeed a strong and long lasting scent for the Aqua Allegoria line!

maiju

Finally saw Lys Soleia in a perfume store today. I instantly went to try it on a mouillette and exited the store while inhaling my first impressions of the scent.

Lys Soleia is warm, very warm. As if you were wearing a tropical paradise on your skin. I immediately knew the scent reminded me of something but I couldn't place my finger on it right then. It wasn't until I left the shopping center that I finally got it: The scent of Lys Soleia reminded me of The Body Shop's legendary Monoi de Tahiti oil. In addition, it reminded me slightly of honey and tropical fruit.

On my way back home, I just had to return to the store and spray some of Lys Soleia on my skin. It smells almost the same - maybe even a little richer - on my wrists (compared to the mouillette). About an hour and a half in, the scent is still very noticable. On the mouillette, however, the scent isn't that strong anymore after about 3.5 hours since the spray. It's still noticable but a lot less strong as in the beginning. Of course, since this is an EDT, I'm not expecting a lot when it comes to longevity.

I had a friend with me and she described Lys Soleia as "smelling a lot like summer". I believe this is the thought a lot of people get when they smell Lys Soleia. I'm still not sure whether I'll be buying this AA (especially since I can just moisturize my skin with TBS's Monoi de Tahiti oil and smell almost identical, just milder) but it's definitely a good one. Even though I'm a fan of the AA scents, I wasn't expecting Lys Soleia to be this good.

DocTales

This perfume is quiet and nice, not really floral, not really fruity or citrus and definitely not a lily scent. I wouldn't mind having a whiff of it around me, but was expecting a distinct lily note, a lily less green than 'Baiser vole' but still younger, fresher and greener than Penhaligon's 'Lily & Spice'. This is not unpleasant, but definitely does not blow me away. Not rushing out to get this Aqua Allegoria, even though I am usually a huge fan.

cleo cupcake

Interesting Lily - but not full on like DK Gold- this is more of a lighter white floral refreshed with a little green and given weight by clean earthy musk. One note puzzled me and seemed out of place in the beginning but in the dry down I do believe the 'tropical fruit' resolved into melon. I would say very ripe chanterais melon and I really liked it! Reminding me of Un Jardin apres le Mousson which is becoming very hard to find - so I am doubly pleased with this. Sillage was pleasant and lasting power quite good for an AA. Still a trace on my wrist from one spray after a good 6 hours. Too heavy maybe to be a Holy Grail summer fragrance but certainly worth trying. I will be getting a bottle in case they decide this will be for one season only!

pauluch3

Tropical drink with a lily instead of umbrella cocktail sticks!

This one makes me feel like being on holiday. Sun, tropical fruit, white flowers. Really sunny and fun composition. It's very sweet but not sickly sweet or sticky. I mainly detect lily and some sweetness that probably comes from the fruit and vanilla. No citrus whatsoever. In the drydown I also sense slightly musky undertone.

*****

magda14012

It is delicate, lightly citrusy. What I like the most is that the skin smells as if it was sun heated. The fragrance which is ideal for warm weather, spring time and reminds me of lazy days on the sandy beach.
