Omg, this is so yummy. I would consider this gourmand. I get just as much lavender from intense as I do in the EDP but intense is buttery and dense with amplified vanilla and coumarin.
Intense gets creamier and woodier but retains a lot of the lavender as it dried down.
I don’t experience the rose or the Iris as much in intense as I do the EDP.
That’s the major difference to me; The EDP dries down to a beautiful soft iris - which reminds me of Maison Lancôme iris Dragees.
I’m a huge fan of Guerlain but I usually go for their vintage fragrances or their higher end offerings. I’ve overlooked the Mon Guerlian line for too long- I’m gonna sample the rest.

Bought a large sample of this over a year ago. Wore it on occasion throughout the year and took it on trips. For most of that time it didn’t have strong lasting power on me and felt too vanilla-forward…I hated to admit it but it fell a little flat. However this winter I sniffed the last few sprays in my atomizer, and NOW we’re talkin. The lavender actually has strength, depth and substance and isn’t drowned by the vanilla, and the vanilla is more interesting too. Overall all the other notes have strengthened and intensified, gotten more sophisticated and it was SO worth the wait. This will last long and project just enough. It totally holds up to what so many have raved about. Comforting, feminine, “wifey” vibes. Signature worthy for sure. I know lots of people can enjoy this without needing to wait over a year for it to macerate lol, that’s just what it took to catch my eye. Maceration and aging is no joke y’all

It's a good perfume. Well composed and balanced.
Opening is lovely - I sense the mandarin and bergamot quite strongly.
The lavender grows and develops alongside the vanilla which, going into mid and dry down becomes the most obvious notes to my nose and this.... Sadly... Is the reason I can't really say I enjoy this personally.
It just smells exactly like orig TM Angel to me - and I don't like that either! Personally, I find it too sickly sweet and ever so slightly cloying.

That said.... Its a well composed perfume - lasts a good amount of time and projects well. Just not my cup of tea!

Amen! Hallelujah!

Out of the Mon Guerlain line the EDP Intense is hands down the most successful one. Although I like the Sparkling Bouquete and Bloom of Rose iterations as well. The Florale version is really a total miss for me, as it smells the worst kind of indolic you can imagine, close to fecal! In the EDP Intense, though, I like the really refined Guerlain mixing and blending of notes that somehow creates something very unique to this House only! It's indescribable, really, something airy and powdery and ephemeral, like a pink silk scarf... But when I say powdery, Narciso Poudree is also powdery, but it's a slap in your face, obvious and a bit vulgar type of powder, if you know what I mean. Not as sophisticated as Guerlain can do. Not even a very well blended Favourite by Penhaligon, which I love, is giving me this je ne sais quoi that Guerlain creates with their powdery scents. Once you spritz this on your hand in Sephora you can't stop smelling it. An absolute winner!

Isabella Therese

No. Just no. I love the OG Mon Guerlain, but I hate the Intense. The smooth and airy vanilla from the OG has been replaced with a Play-Doh vanilla in this flanker. If that wasn't bad enough, Intense is a patchouli bomb, and as usual patchouli completely overpowers all the other notes. If you don't like patchouli, stay far away from Intense.

FeleciaB

Personally I prefer the OG, intense is very patchouli dominant to my nose where the OG seems creamier to me

ingrid.superstar

Synesthetically a very “chewy” fragrance (tonka usually does this for me) — like a fantasy, candied, caramel cube-lozenge that melts in the mouth, pale purple in color, for taking when you want to have sweet dreams. Mon Guerlain Intense is rich, sweet, and pillowy — also like a lavender and salted caramel latte — silky, milky, savory, frothy, smooth, comforting. Goodnight.

Printeza7

This is real good!! Power in a bottle,a juice as strong as its colour! Lavender opens beautiful, the vanilla takes over! Just precious, glad I got a bottle!

Airwrecka

Beautiful rich lavender at the beginning but then turns a little too sweet for me. Unfortunately for me its not like a rich smoky vanilla more of a sugary vanilla cupcake that i don’t really vibe with.

Faverinsky

Whoever compared Mon Guerlain Intense with a warm mother's embrace is spot on! I blind bought it and received it today, after giving away my original Mon Guerlain years ago (I wasn't wowed anymore), and I must say this is super beautiful and I love it!

Mon Guerlain Intense is a safe (unless you hate lavender), calm (yet projecting), luxurious (smells decadent but put together), vanilla-lavender potion. On my skin, both the vanilla and the lavender are amped up, and I do not perceive much of a liquorish note (thank gawd because I'm not a fan). I can also smell the powderiness of the Iris and a lingering sweet/musky floral note, but it's so well blended that I cannot distinguish the flowers or even assign them a color (e.g. yellow, white, red), which is strange because my skin always amps up the jasmin (but I guess the lavender takes over).

I ALSO get that "white chocolate' like note (that people mention often) after about an hour of wear, which is super delicious, comforting, and it also gives it a slightly gourmand twist.

For me this is a daytime perfume (though you could certainly wear it at night for both classy and informal outings), best suited for weekend wear (lunches, birthdays, restaurants, events of all kinds), but you could also rock this in the office if you don't overspray (as it is quite sweet and can be cloying). I get about 8 hours on my skin with a strong projection and scent trail during the first 2-3 hours (with 6 sprays on moisturized skin).

All in all, Mon Guerlain Intense is a stunning, ultra feminine, and well blended composition for those of us who like to smell pretty, approachable, warm, mature (without being old) and super classy in Spring, Winter and Autumn (this is not suited for summer).

Løpasdfkdf

This is the mother of Mon Gerlain (the original) is more mature and deep. Its a bit darker version than the original. Its less lavender and more pachouli and vanille scents. At the first spray can this scare you because it can be very pachouli but just give it some hours until it drys down. It gets away a little the pachouli.

This is just a darker, mature version of the original. It can be more masculine or unisex. The original one is more feminin. I am not saying that this perfum is masculine, but for sure is more mature and darker than original.

the_gunner

This perfume smells so much like TM Angel to my nose, even more than the OG Mon Guerlain! But, it's without all the things that I dislike about Angel (the obnoxiously heavy patchouli and overwhelming sweetness) while retaining everything I love. It's sweet and thick in just the right amount, flirty and fun with a touch of licorice that balances the sweetness in a mature, sexy way—not girly. It's a very comforting scent to me because it feels familiar.

I really like it, especially because it's reminiscent of fragrances I've loved for years. I got tired of trying to find different perfumes just to 'mature my nose' and switch things up. Sometimes, you just need your comfort scents! So, if you're looking for something unique or you're not a fan of sweet perfumes, I suggest trying it first.

For me, I was trying to venture out from my usual perfumes into floral-dominant scents. While I do like them, as soon as I tried this perfume, it felt like putting on my favorite jacket after wearing something that didn't quite fit. Celine Dion's 'It's All Coming Back to Me' started playing in the back of my mind!

Performance: great all around.

Schondis

It's very heavy on the lavender, which I don't mind as much usually, but I expected it to be more gourmand and fluffy (the main reason I bought this was the vanilla!) Can't smell much on my skin after a few hours either. 😔

Cherryz

This feels extremely overpowering and mature for my nose. I can't ever imagine wearing it. I feel like this is one of those fragrances that you spray only once (or maybe half a spritz) or you'll suffocate everyone around you.

rene.saller

Mon Guerlain Intense is beautiful, but it's similar enough to OG Mon Guerlain--of which I have a nearly full bottle--that I don't think I need it. I agree with the reviews saying that it's essentially the same as the OG formulation, only with less lavender and more vanilla (possibly more tonka too). If someone isn't fond of lavender, I would recommend the MG Intense because it isn't as dominant; however, for me part of what made MG so special is that prominent lavender note, which gives what might otherwise be a hyperfeminine perfume a bit of the barbershop fougère vibe. MG Intense still has the lavender, but the overall effect is rounder and less crisp, a little fuzzier and more femme. Undeniably pretty, though, and very recognizably a flanker of MG--in fact, if I were to smell this in the wild, I might think it was regular MG, depending on how far along into the drydown the wearer was.

Update: The iris is coming through on my skin now, and it's so, so beautiful. I don't smell it as much in the original MG, probably because the lavender note is so strong that it knocks it out, but whoa--this is one gorgeous iris, and it makes me think I'll probably run through this travel sprayer pretty quickly. I might say that this flanker is now tied with the original, although I personally can't rationalize having full bottles of both.

tinekesmellsamazing

I sprayed this on the sleeve of my coat to test it (I rarely wear perfume on my skin except the fantastic Coco body cream by Chanel but that’s a whole other story). So anyway I liked it, but it’s darker than the original MG. Somehow I imagine the perfume bottle being dark purple when I smell the fragrance. Lots of licorice, a little similar to the original Lolita Lempicka.
This morning upon grabbing my coat, I got whiffs of Angel?! Several others have remarked the similarity. I didn’t see it at all at first, but in the driest drydown stage, yes, I can smell Angel. This is way better though. I don’t think I will get this one as I prefer and love the MG original, but this is lovely and smells great overall.

Jezeleah

A coworker mistook this for Angel. Funny because someone else on here said their husband mistook this for Angel as well. There must be a similar note. I haven’t smelled Angel since the mid naughties, so no opinion!
I love this though! Everything is amped up from the original, and so are the compliments. I have to mind the trigger on this one because it is quite potent. I also enjoy layering with the original. Classy, and timeless.
Update:
While I actually got far more compliments with MGI than the original, it also got mistaken for Angel a few times. Compliments are great, but they are not the end all and be all. I bought this for work, and it is too heavy for work. The patchouli is patchouli-ing! Lol! Interesting how patchouli can render a fragrance to be too heavy! I’d rather use original MG. I will not reach for this socially because I have Lavandes Trianon. Finally, the idea of smelling like Angel was really off putting. Sold it on!

zokhruf.omer

Layered with Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir. *chef's kiss*

Studphobic

This is such a cozy, comforting fragrance. It's lighter on the lavender and heavier with the vanilla than the original. Very creamy. As it dries down it starts to take on a sort of white chocolate quality. It's perfect for autumn and winter, but I think it would also work for spring evenings. It doesn't smell similar La Belle to me, although I have the La Parfum version.

vighletends

On first spray, or if you sprayed this somewhere other than your skin, this smells like straight vicks vapo rub. However it almost immediately becomes this delicious vanilla licorice musky slightly woody slightly citrusy syrupy dream. That being said: it’s La Belle by JPG. I know this because I have a bottle of it right here. And weirdly, that lasts longer on my skin than this one. I also worry that if you spray this on clothes, the vicks-ish sent wouldn’t dissipate into the yummy scent this becomes on your skin, and no one else would know how good this is but you. Which is why if you gave yourself a spray or two of La Belle, you’d get the same effect without the risk. In my opinion, allegedly, don’t come for me

bronni666

Has this been reformulated? My latest bottle doesn’t have the same appeal that my first one had.

Dutchlikesclassics

Great scent, the stronger version of Mon Guerlain EdP. Suitable for every day, very classy, sweet perfume. I can recommend it!

This is already a modern classic.

FabricatedFashion

This is a no brainer. I generally try to avoid fragrances with patchouli in them. This is blended to perfection and is an easy to reach fragrance. Highly recommend as a safe gift. I love Mon Guerlain the original for everyday wear, and this comes close. Personally you can't go wrong with Guerlain when choosing a perfume.

KatelynMLovesPerfume

I think this fragrance is great for all ages it just has a certain mood/element to it. I agree that it may be too much for summer & spring time. I actually have only tried the Mon Guerlain original once at Sephora and wasn't wowed by it, but I still liked it. Then I got a sample size of Mon Guerlain Intense. I love the intense version, this is a beautiful creamy intoxicating vanilla with lavender. It's not a super medicinal lavender scent at all which I love, I've been trying to find one like this for a long time. I also get a hint of creamy jasmine and licorice in here as well. This makes me feel like I'm wearing a sweet scent but it's more well rounded and mature than just your typical sugar loaded gourmand scent. Very feminine and classy instead of juvenile but still a sweet kick. Longevity is great. Lovely fragrance all around!

noodlehead19

of course, this is Mon Guerlain's older, wiser, sexier sister. it's still got the signature lavender-vanilla DNA, but the lavender is a little less prominent and the iris takes more of the stage (to my nose). it's a bit more powdery, but at the same time the patchouli keeps it from getting TOO much. as a lavender enthusiast, I do prefer the original since it's more lavender-forward, but I still think this is such a beautiful, alluring take on MG. stronger than the OG & lasts a little longer, too (which says a lot, since on me MG is eternal and fills up a room in seconds). 100% worth having!

Can'tstopFragranceAddict

This has become my signature as of lately, I absolutely adore this beauty. I think it’s perfect for 30’s plus as I’m almost 34.
The lavender is timeless and the two kinds of vanilla is so stunning and the cozy tonka, everything blends so lovely. It’s so easy to wear especially for Fall and Winter, works in every season honestly. it truly is a strong, free, and sensual woman like the commercial says. It’s a fantastic gift idea for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mothers day etc…For your wife, girlfriend, best friend, auntie, mama or grandma.

Jojo789

If you love the OG, you will love this! It is so warm and cozy and has a lovely sweetness to it. It also has great longevity and sillage. 1-2 sprays and you're good for the day. It's perfect for fall and winter. It would be too heavy, IMO, for spring and summer. This is predominantly lavender with a sweet vanilla and a bit of woodiness. It does lean a bit feminine in the sense that it does not smell like typical men's cologne. But I think it would smell amazing on a man. I think this would be a bit too much for anyone under like 25. It's more of a grown-up fragrance.

sunchild50

It’s perfect.

Skylakagetis

This is glorious, one of my absolute favourite perfumes.

It is the most seductive and sexy aromatic vanilla. I feel like there is more vanilla in this than in the original. It's a sweet, spicy, creamy, buttery, rich and powdery vanilla. The base notes give the most seductive and dreamy dry down. It smells expensive.

I also own Mon Guerlain and Mon Guerlain Florale and this is my favourite, followed by the original.

It is so recognisably Guerlain from start to finish. Guerlain really are the masters of vanilla! I get a little nod to Shalimar from this, but only from the spicy Guerlain vanilla. No leather or smoke here to my nose.

I have two bottles, one is slightly aged and matured, this bottle is much more intense, sweeter and denser and the vanilla is much richer and buttery. The colour of the perfume is also darker and deeper, the newer one is a much brighter and vibrant pink.

Longevity is wonderful, I get a full days wear from it and no need to re spray. I once wore this and must have got some on the neck on one of my dressing gowns. I don't know how long later it was, days or weeks, but I picked up the dressing gown to wear it and it had the most beautiful and addictive scent, I couldn't stop smelling it. It took me some time to work out what was on it as it had dried down so much, but I'm certain it was either this or the original Mon Guerlain.

I have received lots of compliments when wearing this, from both men and women.

Sillage is quite strong, I know it leaves a strong scent trail and can fill a room with only 2/3 sprays, one on wrist and one/two on neck as colleagues have commented they can smell this as soon as they walk into a room, even when when I have left the room, so be careful around overdoing it.

I would say it better suits colder weather, it's just so warm and cosy and I feel like it has the potential to be a little cloying in warmer weather.

I love the bottle too, it's very feminine and classy. The juice is a lovely bright and vibrant pink. It would look beautiful on a dresser. I like the different collars on the bottle and different colours of the perfume itself. However - when you own several and store them inside a dark box, it is hard to see which fragrance is which, but I really don't mind as I like the continuity of the bottles.

This is a Guerlain vanilla masterpiece. I will always have this in my collection for however long it exists and I will be heartbroken if it ever gets discontinued or reformulated!

swedishmilk15

I love it, but a coworker kept exclaiming "WHO is wearing Vicks VapoRub?" all day when I wore it, so I guess it's not for everyone.

tanjafomina95

One spray and my neighbour could smell me across the street. The spillage is enormous.
I can smell a cherry note in here, however it is not listed in the pyramid.
Could be a great gift for an older woman (mom, grandma etc).

Allegoria

I’m on my second bottle - and this perfume has stood the test of time in a collection that I am constantly thinning out. It remains as beautiful to me as it did on Day 01. A friend used to tell me I smelled “expensive” whenever I wore MG INTENSE, and I agree. My own word in encapsulating this scent, would be ‘rich’. The rich creamy Guerlain vanillas are one of the best & adds a luxurious thickness to the elegant tapestry.

It lasts all day on me & if I just spray my wrists at days end, I wake up to the most exquisite vanilla skin scent.

A true Gem I look forward to wearing each Fall and Winter holiday season. I think I have to say Gorgeous!

SCENT: 10/10 (If you like vanilla & can wear a touch of lavender).
LONGEVITY: 6 to 8 hrs. (Multiple sprays)
SILAGE: Good

VioletScented

Mon guerlain intense is the introverted sister. I adore them both so much.

delta-v

Ok buckle up. This is way too detailed.

MON GUERLAIN INTENSE smells like an attractive 36 year old PTA mom with perfect Utah curls and well-applied Botox and Juvederm who has a close, personal relationship with her Peloton and Lululemons.

HOWEVER, she just got separated from her software engineering exec husband.

He "works" from home (read: spends his whole work day flirting with the new 24 year old product manager and checking Tinder) in their McMansion in a Utah ski town between quarterly trips to HQ in Silicon Valley.

She has a sexual awakening after the first lawyer meeting on a Friday afternoon to draft up the divorce papers, and goes binge shopping online for all manner of unmentionables, promising herself that this "add to cart" session will finally solve that perpetual ennui and spice up her life.

She's planning her glorious comeback to the dating scene when she goes home to Nowhereville, Michigan to spend some time with her folks.

And speaking of Michigan, she drinks a whole bottle of chablis and texts her construction worker ex-boyfriend she met on MySpace in 2005 (they were both MySpace friends with Mickey Avalon) while trying on sexy outfits and taking selfies, before crying herself to sleep.

Where are her children? She doesn't know.

Thankfully, they're with the nanny, who's getting time and a half for the night shift.

She wakes up the next morning with mascara smeared all over her face, a falsie hanging off to one side, and one of her hair extension wefts covered in her own spittle after a night of bawdy text exchanges with the aforementioned milquetoast but otherwise perfectly serviceable* man.

She heads over to her Louis Vuitton Carryall to find her eye drops, makeup wipes, and Mon Guerlain Intense to try and erase the indiscretions of the night before, as she realizes she's late for her weekly nail appointment and Starbucks run.

MON GUERLAIN INTENSE. It's a glorious, beautiful mess. It needs some therapy. It needs a bit of a reality check about the harshness of the real world. It is privileged. It is vain. It is hurting. And it has massive potential under all that pretentiousness.

AND I AM NOT COMPLAINING.

I'm going to wear it for like a week straight now prolly...

*For Michigan standards

Edit: I have never been to Michigan

Anonomouse

If you want to feel like "wifey", wear this. So gorgeous and genuine and grown without being too mature. It says to me, "I know you love me, I love me too." This is the woman who pays all her own bills and she doesn't need you. If you're there, it's because she wants you to be. She isn't the loudest in the room but is never overlooked. She's kind and humble. Everyone likes her.. Seriously, I've never not gotten a compliment when wearing this lol.

My favorite part is the warm tonka/vanilla dry down. The lavender is beautifully done too. So harmonious with the vanilla. Sweet without being cloying. I can't say enough good things about it.

mermaidylady

I wear/own so many fragrances and this is the only one that my husband compliments without fail. I wear perfume every single day and it's always crickets from him, except when I wear this one. Granted, he always mistakenly thinks I'm wearing Angel (how??), but enjoys when I wear it nonetheless.

Very heavy, powdery lavender vanilla & coumarin. Great longevity and huge sillage. Truly intense. For me, not suitable for every day wear so I only break it out for special occasions. Perfect choice for a winter date night!

yanitsvet

Beautiful fragrance! Lavender adds intensity in the opening, while mandarin and bergamot add freshness. The combination between them gives a subtle masculine nuance. The vanilla is not as prominent as in the OG MG. MG Intense is not as smooth, harmonious, and delicate as the OG. It is more interesting, sexy, and bold, more suitable for the evening. I really like it, but if I have to choose between the two, I would take the original, as I can wear it anywhere and any time.

Admw

Tested it for the first time yesterday and just had to try it again today. This scent gives me such a good feeling, it is quite strong but certainly not overpowering, which my other perfumes usually are. I couldn't contain myself and just ordered a bottle. This scent is so comfortable to wear, it’s so well blended, feels elegant and luxurious. I think this will also be a Christmas present for my mother

islandgirlmaranda

Blind buy success! This is the epitome of "warmth." It's so cozy. A perfectly blended vanilla and very light lavender. I don't get licorice thank God because I can't stand that note. I have the original and this. They're both beautiful. This one is just deeper, warmer. The other one is more lightweight and fresh. Both I think are perfect for a man or woman. I want to wear this on a cold winters day bundled up in a scarf while sipping a hot latte.

KiikiKiiki

A lavender dream. This fragrance is so good, I want to cry. How did I stay this long without owning this gorgeous beauty? Mon Guerlain is femininity in a bottle. The perfect bridal scent as well.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

Like the name would suggest, Mon Guerlain Intense eau de parfum is a more "intense" version of the original Mon Guerlain eau de parfum and it has a fairly big amount of projection from one's skin when wearing it. It lasts about 10 hours on me too, so you get good value for your money.

The scent itself is something I'm not a big fan of though, since this version of Mon Guerlain is woodier than the original and spicier too. It also has a bigger dose of coumarin, licorice and benzoin and I can detect the patchouli in this, whereas in the original fragrance I couldn't. These are all notes I find far too overpowering and something that I don't appreciate.

Thankfully there is a good dose of vanilla in this offering from Guerlain, nice hints of iris and no lavender to be smelt to my nose. Lavender is too bitter, herbal and aromatic to my nose. It isn't a soft or girly smelling flower, but rather masculine actually, at least to me anyway.

I'd say that Mon Guerlain Intense EDP would be best to be worn during either the fall or the winter during the night at more formal events and that it is a purely unisex fragrance that can be worn by men and women equally.

Altogether I'd rate this fragrance a 3.5/10. Not that it is my favorite, but I definitely think that the original Mon Guerlain edp smells a lot better than this fragrance.

PerfumePixie87

Mon Guerlain Intense is my preferred flanker from the range. Still reminiscent of a very typical designer DNA but I can’t imagine anyone disliking this scent. The lavender is barely detectable on my skin. Rather I get a smooth and sweet vanilla, tonka musk with hints of cosy licorice. It is youthful yet elegant, pretty and powdery.

batuhanavci

It smells expensive and the performance is great. However whenever I wear this, I go nose blind very quickly and think that the scent is gone and is no longer detectable by other people around me. But on the contrary, it stays and projects for hours and hours, even if you don't smell it on yourself

Chika-G

Upon first use it is quite lavender forward and I cannot detect any vanilla or sweet notes. Will let it sit for a while, come back to it and re-review if anything changes.

Edit: I've noticed the change! The middle notes is where it really shines for me.. that's where you get the vanilla and sweetness and the lavender sits in the background. It's a like!

Maya lilac

Possibly the best lavender-vanilla-licorice combo. Intoxicating, rich, sweet, deep, powerful and very addictive. Slightly powdery and spicy in the same time. It has been launched a few years ago and I don’t think you can find anything similar from other brands! It kept itself apart from the generic creations that flooded the perfume market in the past years.

Mon Guerlain Intense and Thierry Mugler’s Alien Essence Absolue were my top picks for cold weather or when I needed a mood boost. Before all the niche stuff, these were it! Not that they smell alike, but both are very intense and enveloping and they gave me so much joy wearing them!

Suitable for the fall and winter because it’s so rich and strong, it’s absolutely phenomenal.

It’s an outstanding scent and that should be in everyone collection as other classics from houses like Chanel or Dior. Timeless classic…

This, Champs Elysees and Teracotta (for spring and summer) are my all time favourites from Guerlain. Elegance in a bottle!!

Leather&pearls

Class and sophistication in a bottle! Smooth balmy vanilla with calming lavender. The opening is strong and sharp but the beauty is in the dry down. This will always be a classic. Perfect for springtime if your into deeper scents.

I am sad to say that this is the third one of the Mon Guerlain range I have tried in the last week, and while it is the best of the three (original, Blushing Bouquet, and Intense) it isn't quite what I was hoping for. As much as I like the scents - of all of them, actually - the performance on me is weak. I want to love it, since it listed on so many "must have" lists, but I just don't think this line is for me. The fact that I also tested YSL Libre which has a similar scent profile but way better performance did not do it any favors, either. I am going to store my decants for a while and revisit them a few months from now to see if my mind has changed at all. So no, for now.

baddieb

I tried on and really liked the original Mon Guerlain, in my previous review I mentioned how it was very cozy, sweet scent. I tested it last year so I don't have a fresh memory, but I knew I wanted it. I ended up getting this flanker because for some reason any time I go for an "intense" version of any flanker I like it better than the original. This particular flanker is loud in the opening, there's a lot going on. You definitely get the patchouli and licorice on the first spray with the lavender and vanilla in the background. They come to the fore on the dry down but the first spray is definitely off putting so patience is key. As it settles in, it becomes sweeter and denser. The citrus notes add a little nuance but it's not very noticeable if you don't look for it. It's definitely a power house and two sprays is sufficient for all day lasting power. I've gotten compliments on it from women and they all say I smell really good. I can see how it can lean masculine because it's more woody but for me this is a very feminine fragrance. I need to wear it out more to see how I like it but so far, so good. Lavender and vanilla is a combination you can't get wrong..

Rayy.an

adore it... lavender and vanilla, combined neatly in a sweet fragrance that projects and lasts really well. To my nose, Yum Pistachio gelato by Kayali smells very similar to this one minus the pistachio note.

Briar's Reign

It's stronger and lasts longer than Mon Guerlain, but lacks the more ethereal quality due to it being more woody. Still really good, but if your a fan of softer scents, go with Mon Guerlain. This is for people who want a heavier, woodsy scent.

Lucid Dreamer

If the original EDP is a small town carnival, the intense version is Disneyland. She envelops me in a cloud of lavender and vanilla, but the lavender is not cheap smelling essential oil type lavender. Instead, it’s warm and rich and creamy and soft. The reviewer below me said it’s not for summer, but if you spray the air and walk through the mist, it blooms softly enough to work in the hotter months. The bottle is so elegant and the purple colour of the juice is the icing on the cake. It’s an absolute dream.

LanaDelSlay

No but for real I been trying Goddess and it reminds me of this and Im realizing this is the superior one, lavender sugar goodness, so cute, but not suitable in summer at all sadly

sw33tlikeh0ney

I finally got this one! It was a blindbuy and im in loveeee! Im very suprised nobody said it is very similar to lancome hypnose at the first spray, but after time pass by it changing to the most intoxicating, dangerous, feminine, sexy and intense smell ever! Its smell like powdery sugarcoated vanilla milk boiled with a small piece of licorice and turn into condensed milk then someone blow sugar smoke on top of it while mixing with a iris-y vanilla made spoon… Im not a fan of lavender and it never bothers me because you cant even sense it all! It is definitely dark feminine and smells so niche. Im so happy to gave this one a chance.

Totalcrazys

This immediately reminded me of JOOP Le Bain 🫣 🤷♀️

Aelis

The best mainstream vanilla, in my opinion.

It opens with a certain dose of almost masculine freshness, something cool and dark. This dark touch is not heavy at all, it's simply refreshing (probably in combination with the citruses, which are not straightforward at all to my nose), but obviously hiding a certain depth, luring you in.
As these top lavender/liquorice layers unfold, the fragrance warms up considerably, overtaken by powdery sweetness. The base gradually reveals itself and it is a delicious, slightly smoky, Shalimar-ish vanilla, resulting in a nutty, powdery, earthy, sensual drydown which lingers on your skin for hours. It's probably the addition of tonka, iris and patchouli (and likely other elements my nose can't identify) that enrich this chewy, "raw" vanilla. The florals are not too prominent to my nose, they rather add a certain "wet" touch, contrasting the powderiness.

In comparison to the original edp, I find the Intense to be much superior.
I perceive the edp as a relatively "flat", unexciting, albeit sophisticated pink sweetness. The Intense, on the other hand, has more depth to it and its sweetness is kept in line by other elements. That's probably why I can wear it in the heat, whereas I used to struggle with the regular edp in the summer (I'm not an oversprayer, though).

This is very womanly and luscious, yet not too assertive. It is slightly blurry (for the lack of a better word), soft and tender, but with an edge. A great introduction to Guerlain.

Sapienta

Absolutely outstanding. So vibrant and smoky without being cloying or headache inducing. Basic Mon Guerlain seems like a prototype to this outstanding beauty.

jujuba4596

I'm in love with this version and it's the first time I try it! I'm used to the original Mon Guerlain, and this is a lot better and less sour. It's a complex, sweet and intriguing perfume. Very intense. Love it!

kj77

First, it smells like JPG la Belle . After a few minutes it’s angel share version but not as intense . I mean that it smells like cinnamon which I hate . I will return it

Silvi_pankova

l'interdit rouge is my most complimented fragrance by men and this one is my most complimented by women.
It’s very strong which I like, purchased it on an island in extreme heat and as long as I didn’t overspray it was amazing.
Feminine, elegant but fun at the same time, love it ❤️

OzzyEyes

I tested this in store twice before purchasing a large bottle. I must have tested it in cooler weather, and at the time liked it because I could smell the creamy vanilla, but for the life of me I have no idea how, all I smell now is lavender powder? :( I feel I many have been influenced by the handsome Jeremy Fragrance LOL... Anyway, I did know that I'm not a fan of lavender and powdery fragrances so I should have known better... Every time I wear it I think it's something my mother would wear, so I'm giving it to her... her signature scent was opium for years back in the day and I wasn't a fan of that either. I should add that I live in a sub-tropical climate, so I do prefer fragrance that is great for hot humid weather. Winter fragrance get's spritzed for about 4 weeks of a year, so seems a waste, and I feel this is a cooler weather scent.

Edit: Even my mum didn't like it :( looking at it still on my shelf I thought I'd spray it in my essential oil diffuser and see how that goes, but I hate smelling it in the room that way too! Looks like I'll have to find someone else to give it to, or sell it at some stage.

This manages to be mysterious while at the same time warm and comforting. It's sweet, but with a hint of spiciness that gives it some edge and maturity, making it a sensual and inviting fragrance. Imagine an elegant, wealthy woman comforting you with a tight hug; that's what comes to mind when I smell this perfume.

As for longevity, it lasts all day, especially on clothes; will remain on them until washed. If you're regularly wearing this, get ready for your closet to smell like mon guerlain intense. Sillage is incredible, so only 1-3 sprays are enough. A friend of mine told me she could smell it as soon as I walked into the room!

ChayChama

It was gifted to me by a man I dated in Paris. He was so so so classy and he wore an intoxicating fresh scent and when I asked him about it, he told me it’s Guerlain « Habit Rouge ». The next day he shows up to me with a bunch of Guerlain perfumes and « mon Guerlain intense » was our favorite. Since then I have been wearing it a lot. It is elegant, with a little hint of masculinity and power that lavender is bringing to the mix. I picture it as a strong woman, with a dark suit, who doesn’t talk much but when she does, it’s about serious matters, smart topics, life changing decisions… This is still my second signature scent and every time I wear it I got compliments for both men and women.

OlgaOT

Simply gorgeous and so comforting! I came across it accidentally when a shop assistant in my local John Lewis couldn’t find a tester for a certain Guerlain I needed and offered me a tester of Mon Guerlain Intense instead. I took it with no expectations whatsoever as “I may just as well”. But I spritzed it at home and loved it. Funny how I wouldn’t have found it if it wasn’t a sheer chance as I am sceptical of any Guerlain made after the early 2000s. I purchased the bottle of this the next day.

Mon Guerlain Intense is, as people say, a perfect (not annoying) blend of gentle lavender (and I speak as someone who only likes lavender as an essential oil in a lamp), vanilla and some low key magic. Dry down smells like the inside of those Raffaello chocolates (but in the best possible way).

I wouldn’t say it is a groundbreaking perfume but for me, I like it for what it is and I love to be wrapped in it.

P. S. Lavender definitely different from the OG Mon Guerlain where it smells more like lavender closet sachets to me.

Vexel

Very potent out of the bottle - no surprises there. A sweet "purple" perfumey soup before it has the chance to breathe with clear lavender from the outset. Not sure if I would describe this one as having clear blotter appeal in my opinion. The middle of this took me back to memories of Serge Lutens' Fourreau Noir with the potent lavender, tonka bean, and ambiguous cherry sort of note. I'm almost surprised that there isn't an almond note listed. As time goes on it falls back into a comfortable cushion of classic Guerlain musky vanilla-sandalwood. The spicy-woody tonka-licorice combo gives it a markedly distinct trail. Very purple, very French, and quite chic overall. Not an everyday sort of perfume that you smell on every passer-by. Perhaps not 100% stereotypically feminine either, especially depending on your chemistry.

I'm definitely more enchanted by the dry down than the opening, (there's just so much going on at first - it's like a room full of cabaret girls all demanding your attention), and look forward to testing in a variety of conditions. If it interests you my advice would be try it on skin and let it breathe before coming to a conclusion.

Funnily enough the first time my father smelled this on me he jokingly told me I smell like a French brothel, which, let's be real, I'd damn well better if I'm wearing a modern, sexy Guerlain.

jeissi

It is a good parfume. It lasts much longer than Mon Guerlain, the drydown is warmer. 💜⭐️

LSAUG

I agree w/ the review below. I thought the original lacked something special, it didn't really vibe for me. My husband enjoyed it more than I did. The original is a lot sweeter than the Intense. The lavender is wayyy more prevalent in the intense version and isn't that what we want in any Mon Guerlain fragrance? A BIG lavender? This reminds me of Libre Intense as well but powderier. There is a big mandarin orange note here and Libre Intense is heavy w/ orange blossom. They are both heavy w/ a nice, sweet orange smell and I like orange in perfume. I also like the fact that this is powdery, more so than the original. I think the iris here give the Intense more body and fluff and fullness than the original. The DNA of both is very similar but the Intense just has that extra something, the orange, the iris, the bolder lavender makes this the better flanker between the two in my opinion. The Intense also is bolder, richer and lasts longer as well.

Allthingssparkle

I like to get a first impression of scents before I give my reviews so that they're 100% my own and not tainted by other opinions ... personal associations, whether they match the actual notes or not, are probably what help us remember what fragrances smelled like so that if we're keeping a record of those we like or didn't like, we can recall the scent because we framed it in our own words.

My first impression of this, before I came to review it, was Jean Paul Gaultier's La Belle. They're in the same family but this is more spicy and dark, less sweet (but still sweet) and MUCH less bright/fruity. But I'd also say it's an even warmer and less sweet version of the INTENSE (Le Parfum) version of JPG's La Belle. Again, this is still sweet but less sweet than La Belle Le Parfum. I think if you like Le Parfum you'll like this as well. Projection is wonderful....I can't stop sniffing.

I am honestly surprised that I love this because there are two notes in it that I normally cannot stand. I normally cannot stand lavender in perfumes (e.g., YSL Libre and its flankers). Though not listed, I feel like I also pick up some cinnamon -- which I also can't stand (enter: Alien). This is gorgeous and, to me, beautifully blended, however. Definitely worth having as a date night scent or fall scent...snuggling up on the couch for movie night with your love under a big, fuzzy blanket! Who knows, I might end up getting it anyway, just precisely for what she is!

Strawberrykitty

I spoke with a woman from the Guerlain help desk today and she said this has been discontinued. It seemed odd that it wasn’t on the main site anymore, so I called to check. Get it while you can, but they’ll probably reformulate it like they did La Petite Robe Noire Intense (2016) so don’t pay an arm and a leg for it.

toosimilar

So much lovely!
To my nose it has less lavender, than the original one, but it's more gourmandish
Definitely for the delicate vanilla lovers!
But... doesn't project much
As well as longevity is below average for the EDP...

These days it's a disaster almost for the whole perfumery world...
Probably because of the banned ingredients which would provide more longevity
OR , rather AND, because of the "marketing": they want us to spray more and to buy more

Can'tstopFragranceAddict

Well I am trying this beauty out today. I am not a lavender girl but I dont mind it in this Mon Guerlain intense. It’s well blended and Jeremy fragrance is right this is a wife perfume. It’s so feminine and womanly. ❤️

marietangerine

This is another cozy/LOUD fragrance. I really like it. I don’t find it particularly “sexy”, but I think this is one of those perfumes that will morph its “vibe” depending on who is wearing it. It is very warm and draws you in. I don’t normally like lavender in frags, but this is done right. I get a strong liquorice note 😋 I think you could wear this anywhere anytime, but probably fits fall/winter more. Excellent sillage and longevity. Reminds me a lot of Guess Seductive Noir (which obv has weaker sillage and longevity, and isn’t as rich), and oddly enough, Lolita Lempicka without the cherry.

wuddalooo

The original MG edp to me is a perfectly-blended, fresh yet comforting lavender-vanilla-musky perfume. IMHO, this definitely leans more masculine with the lavender, liquorice and patchouli amped up, which to me somewhat obscures the delicate, sweet vanilla (I know this isn’t the case for everyone!).

An educated guess tells me that men would prefer this on a woman, and it is definitely more of a colder weather nighttime scent. I’d recommend getting a tester. If you have MG and love it, this could be your nighttime spritz for a night out/date night/other 😉. Personally, it’s not for me, but I’m seriously considering trying it again in winter …I may update!

*EDIT*
I’ve been wearing one on each arm for 2-3 hours and MG edp has developed into a sweet, musky lavender whilst the MGI is a rich, almost white chocolate vanilla with a lavender and patchouli top! I think I might go MG for spring and MGI for winter!

Spirakel

So here I am, I've just opened a 30 ml bottle that I had to blind buy, as there are no testers of Guerlain perfumes where I live. After reading reviews, my curiosity and expectations were such that I *had* to experience it myself. I own a Mon Guerlain Florale, which is very special to me. The MG EdP I have tested, but that one was not for me.
So now I've sprayed one spritz on my arm, and the opening is fresh and lively from mandarin, bergamot and lavender. To my nose, actually a little masculine. I sense the vanilla, tonka and patchouli. A mysterious, charming blend of notes is appearing. I saw someone mention Lancome Hypnose, and this scent comes to mind for me as well. Vanilla coming forward. This is good. It's not quite "me", but I have to give it time to settle on my skin. For now, it's a little bit mature, much more than Florale, which I find ageless. Definitely stronger. Still masculine. Reminds me of something my grandfather used, which smelled really good on him. But on me? Really not sure. I have to give this time, and will come back and tell you my conclusion.

Melody Valentine

Simply divine. I got a sample of it a couple of years ago and keep meaning to get a bottle. It's so nice. Very luxurious smelling. Creamy vanilla, powdery, Lavender, subtly sweet yet strong and addictive. I couldn't stop smelling myself. I need to get a bottle now I've gotten back into perfume big time. I can't smell it right now coz I don't know if I still have the sample but if I find it or when I get a fb I'll do a proper review. From memory though, it was the best perfume I'd smelled in a long time. Classy. Not like the million other perfumes that have come out in the past so many years, not like the colour of the juice would suggest either. It'd be gorgeous for a date night.

cyclone1391

On my skin this smells very similar to Lancome Hypnose which is my mother's signature. Licorice and vanilla seen to dominate.

LOST_HORIZON

Mon Guerlain Intense is a dream of vanilla clouds that are bursting with lavender, tonka, licorice, and almond. It is a fragrance that is more intense in its output than the edp, but it does not have more sillage. It is true that it has a higher dose of coumarin and now in the latest reformulations it also has a satin almond smell.

Divine sweet and silky, but never overbearing, a little more festive and fun than the original, it will fill you with pleasure if you love the fragrant alloy of vanilla+lavender

Hartsy3

First of all I have to say, both the original and intense versions of Mon Guerlain are a dream! They feel like fresh and modern interpretations of the classic soothing lavender with added sweetness. I read a comment where someone said this smells like "a hug from a very beautiful and elegant mom." So of course, I had to try it!

I think this fragrance has one of the best "intense" versions out there, because it's different, but not so much that it feels like a completely different perfume altogether. In fact, if I didn't have them side-by-side I'm not sure I could even tell them apart, and the dry-down especially is nearly identical.

For me, the differences are very subtle, so I sprayed them one each hand to compare side-by-side. I think the original has a slightly more powedery aroma in the opening, which makes it seem a bit more mature. I also detect a cinnamon note that makes it feel warmer and richer.

The "Intense" version brings out a creamier, brighter, more uplifting aroma with stronger notes of vanilla and, if I'm not mistaken, Tonka-bean. It's still a grown woman fragrance but it has a sweeter, more youthful smell. The Intense version also reminds me of a more subdued version of my favorite lavender fragrance; Initio Rehab.

Overall, I can now fully understand why this is one of the most acclaimed, mainstream lavender fragrances on the market. I think this would be a safe blind buy for anyone who appreciates a lavender note. So glad I got to try it!

vibrant.girl

After testing several Mon Guerlain flankers, this is my take on the line:

Mon Guerlain EDP:
-cozy yet easily wearable daytime fragrance
-primarily herbal lavender, coumarin, licorice; ends with vanilla and very light patchouli
-my fave, the blend is great at every level of the wear

Mon Guerlain EDT:
-sharp green bergamot top, baby-powder-like note from orris+violet, same cozy vanilla base
-has a medicinal note, and lacks the coziness of the EDP
-my least fave

((Mon Guerlain EDP Intense:))
-the most accurate 'intense' flanker of any scent I've tried
-more lavender, more patchouli, more coumarin, more vanilla (especially in the dry down)
-while frags don't have genders, I could see men preferring this version as 'bolder' and spicier

Mon Guerlain L'Essence:
-retains the lavender, and has a nice jasmine-sandalwood heart/base
-does NOT smell like sweet frangipani (like I hoped) but instead the 'green'-smelling variety; still pretty but not what I wanted... it's a sister to Aerin's Hibiscus Palm, with a lavender twist.
-the vanilla comes up in the dry down and sweetens things out in a gorgeous way

Mon Guerlain Florale:
-powdery, creamy, floral flanker that shares DNA with the OG
-the florals are well balanced but it smells too much like vanilla baby powder for me

gorkemaksy

@Doeyez72 fragrances (smells actually) don’t have a gender lol.Unlike you i know a lot of man who wear the most known women fragrances and i wouldn’t even ask them “oh are you wearing woman fragrance??” so grow up please. If most of the women fragrances was in the some niche brand’s bottle(like xerjoff, tiziana terenzi etc), most of the men would wear them without questioning “if its the women fragrance or not”. It’s all about marketing

Doeyez72

I am baffled that some mention masculine leaning and Mon Guerlain in the same sentence. I personally do not know of ANY man would want to wear something so obviously feminine leaning. I know all noses are different but fragrantica reviews to me are just for entertainment. LMAO

autumnblue914

A deeper, sweeter Mon Guerlain. I love both this and the OG EDP. This line is so much better than lavender laundry detergent that is Libre.

Honestly so lovely. You could wear this in winter and fall and the OG EDP in spring and summer. But both of them work for all types of occasions.

NDL

Original review:

This is such a rich, intoxicating, luxurious and feminine perfume. Like the person below me said, there’s a narcotic quality to this. It’s definitely a crowd pleaser.

Much prefer the lavender in the Mon Guerlain line over any of the Libres, unfortunately those come off too soapy and masculine on my chemistry but this works wonderfully on me.

Update:
I got this in December and just finished my 50mL bottle that’s how much I’ve worn this! That says a lot as I have 30+ fragrances that I try to rotate but I always come back to this one. Out of all my perfumes, this is by far the most complimented. I receive at least 1 or 2 compliments on this when I wear it…just goes to show how beautiful this is and how strongly it projects. I also have the OG and while that one is similar but not identical, there’s something in it that always give me a headache.. I don’t have that issue with the intense.

I can’t be without this and it’s rare that I ever finish a bottle let alone repurchase a fragrance, but I received my 100mL bottle in the mail today! :D

LaMiaRosa

My feelings about this one are similar to the original, with the opening being way too strong and perfumey, and heavy on the lavender. The lavender is so heavy that somewhere around the mid this pulls quite masculine on me, and overall I was just surprised at the hype over this fragrance as I found it quite unpleasant (and I'm not someone who dislikes lavender).

The drydown is much nicer and less "loud". The vanilla really comes out, which is the difference between this and the original. I don't really detect vanilla in the original, whereas it's quite dominant here. I would say this pulls unisex on me because there's still a hint of that lavender in the drydown, so the mixture of lavender and vanilla gives it that quality where it could be interpreted as masculine or feminine depending who you ask. It's sweeter than the original because it lacks that strong citrus cutting through it, but I wouldn't say it's a very sweet scent because it does still have that lavender in the drydown.

In terms of performance, it's definitely stronger than the original, although I prefer the scent of the original because this one is just too vanilla-heavy for me and I prefer the original for its light, airy citrusy quality. I don't dislike vanilla but I do find scents like this and YSL Black Opium Le Parfum (where there are multiple different vanillas in the notes) to just be too much vanilla. It gives it a "rubbery" quality that I don't love.

Overall, this is not unpleasant by any means but it's not for me and I won't be buying it. I do not think this is blind-buy safe, so don't give into the hype - make sure to test this before you buy because in my opinion the strength of the lavender means this scent is not for everyone.

miewtje

Lovely fragrance obviously, it's a mon guerlain flanker. I love the original to death and when i ran out i had to try this one and so i blind purchased it. I have to say even though it's literally a deeper and more intense, sweeter version of it's predecessor, i still prefer the original so I've gifted this to a friend. The reason being that the original projects a lot more. It's way more vivid because of the herbal lavender tones that stick around longer and the fizzy, powdery.. i wanna say poofy quality thay it has (think, exploding vintage makeup baggy in the best way) . Therefore it's more noticeable it creates a wonderful all enveloping scent bubble that lures people near. The amped up sweetness in the intense is delicious but to me just not necessary. Since it hovers so close to the skin and is too heavy to lift off, it kind of just sits there. It's a great scent, so don't let this scare you away from it. It only comes down to it's projection for me. Because of that, the original wins over my heart. Other that that it is absolutely delicious.

Mroger848

This perfume smells pretty.. I can say it’s nice!! that’s it! 🤷🏾♀️ Maybe I need keep wearing it.. I was expecting to be blown away! It hasn’t happened yet

Update.. I originally wore this in Florida and it was pretty good (i think I wasn’t impressed initially due to the hype but it’s really nice) now I’m in New Mexico and all I smell is something menthol like how Shalimar has that rubbery tires smell… this sucks majorly. It’s so strong I can taste it.. it’s has a chemical scent .. no bueno !!

RRouge23

Do not buy this because I want them all!!!
Jks. But seriously this is a lifetime signature scent.
It’s delicately sweet and delicious and musky and classy. It’s just beautiful. It’s in my top five for a reason. I will keep a bottle of this in my collection for the rest of my life. I don’t think I’d even be able to gift it to anyone, I would literally just keep it to myself. If I could bathe in it, I would. I wish it was my natural skin scent. I just LOVE it. 10/10.

AnaIli35

I’m obsessed with this scent! I’ve worn this and the original EDP for several days in a row. Gorgeous, serene lavender vanilla with a fresh and a slightly sweet, but never bracing citrus opening. The citrus, however, quickly dissipates. Perfect for bedtime or as an easygoing, daytime scent. On me, the intense smells identical to the original. I can’t smell the licorice or patchouli in it; to me, those notes serve to deepen the others and help with longevity and projection. Sadly, neither scent is a powerhouse in terms of sillage or longevity, but the intense surpasses the original. This isn’t remotely similar to Guess Seductive Noir; I didn’t care for that one and quickly decluttered it. I bought this hoping to get something close to Lush Twilight in perfume form. It’s not a dupe but very complimentary and layers beautifully with the entire Lush Sleepy and Twilight line. I love and will use both the original and Intense, but I will only re-purchase the intense because the original is too weak and fleeting.

Tony Shades

Guerlain's version of Angel, in a softer fluffier girlier way, based of course on the original Mon Guerlain structure. A layering of the two original fragrances would get you pretty close to this flanker.

lmnsvgz

I have a complicated relationship with this perfume. I associate lavender with peace and sleep. In this scent it is blended beautifully and doesn't feel herbal, doesn't feel green in any way. The vanilla isn't that sweet. But the scent still has a very relaxing, sleepy vibe. They could make a Mon Guerlain Leau Privee and I would buy it immediately. Would be lovely for a night in scent or a candle.

ChocoLei

Absolutely beautiful. My three favorites from the MG line are the original EDP, the Sensuelle flanker and the Intense version. Each of them have the same main notes / accords but play with them in a very distinct way.

The original is a seamless and comforting lavender and vanilla cloud— soft yet powerful. Moderate sillage and projection. Again, the lavender is really soft, it doesn't feel ultra aromatic nor masculine at all. It's a very alluring and cuddly lavender.

On me, the Sensuelle flanker has a lower sillage but longevity is just as great as the original. It still has the characteristic lavender notes but they pushed in the background and while the tonka and licorice notes are the main stars. Sweeter than the OG, flirting with gourmand accords. Feels warmer and more inviting.

Last but not least, the Intense version. This one feels like the most regal out of the bunch. The lavender is more aromatic than the two versions above, giving an experience close to rubbing dried lavender buds between your fingers. Still, it won't feel like a masculine aromatic lavender, if you see what I mean. The lavender still very much blends with all of the notes, it just stands out more than it the two other flankers above.
MG Intense feels more opulent, more dressed up. One spritz is enough to leave an exquisite scent trail. The longevity is great and the drydown is much more vanillic— and of course, it’s the signature Guerlain vanilla. You could totally rock this one casually, but to me it really calls for beautiful night attires, romantic dates, special and/or fancy occasions.

I adore smelling this on people and even myself but I’m not sure if I’ll get one— that’s solely because what I like the most about MG is the soft and cozy take on the lavender-vanilla combo. I may change my mind after a couple of years though :)

thatsveryinteresting

WOOW! I smelled it yesterday in the store. I wanted to see which one I like better- the edp or the intense. Have to say that I love me some intensive and sweet perfume. I tested them side by side and have to say that they’re both very very beautiful, feminine, sensual and just so elegant. I like the intense a little bit better because I love the stronger vanilla note that is in here😍 and it’s also sweeter.

Xela_529

I love this so much! I get more vanilla than the original. This is a very great Intense version. It’s well blended and gorgeous, will forever be in my top 5!

TheNyx2003

This is so stunning 😍 my nose get vanilla and chocolate the most and a little patchouli and spice but not that kind of spice that punch you in the face like l'interdit line by givenchy , it has delicate and smooth type of spice , i didn't get unisex vibe and lavender that much that some people mentioned , after about 2 hours rose come out , but in overall vanilla and a powdery_chocolaty type of scent is the star of the show , so sexy feminine gourmand 🍦🍫

HebrewDutchess

I absolutely love this fragrance! It’s an amazing cozy scent that makes me feels like I’m wearing cashmere and sitting by the fireside with a nice warm mug of chai.

afahhad

Not my type. It smells like medicine.

OMGGGG its smeellllss so gooodddd. Its a bit masculine but can say female scent. Soo quality and strong vanilla i think. It long lasts quite good. Love it ssoooo much

Sammbac

I don't find it too different from the original, perhaps slightly heavier on the licorice note. Still smells like a freshly bathed newborns head too. Comforting. Some people call it a sexier scent than the OG, I cannot because I can't get past the intoxicating baby odour. Lovely for bedtime.

Confessional: it took me several years to fall in love with these Mon Guerlains. Initially I found them awfully astringent and not worthy of the house of Guerlain. Now somehow I must have both the original MG EDP and the Intense and I wear one on each wrist. Love them both. And I’ve finished 2 bottles of each and now I’m on my third. They are light on me so I spray a lot. I also love all the Libres but those are much more full bodied and long lasting. I enjoy the MG EDP & Intense equally and I also enjoyed MG Sensuelle which started off like the dry down of MG EDP & remained throughout. I do strongly wish Guerlain would make a better lasting version of all of these. I think of Mon Guerlain as a modern classic and don’t find them too trendy or in any way age specific. Classic and beautiful. Sweet and fresh. Clean and sultry. Just perfect.

NDL

This is such a rich, intoxicating, luxurious and feminine perfume. Like the person below me said, there’s a narcotic quality to this. It’s definitely a crowd pleaser.

Much prefer the lavender in the Mon Guerlain line over any of the Libres, unfortunately those come off too soapy and masculine on my chemistry but this works wonderfully on me.

ingrid.superstar

This has such a subtle (but rich) milky-narcotic quality to it. Reminds me of a softly-floral, caramel ice cream scent, and yet I can’t properly call it a gourmand despite its sugary-leaning, lactonic overtones.

First, the lavender, is a boudoir, powder-puff lavender — more akin to this wonderful lavender/vanilla baby lotion that I use for myself than the harsh, astringent, herbal lavender of colognes. A candied lavender, if you will, leaning toward a violet pastille. This floralcy, along with the buttery/waxy hint of iris keeps Mon Guerlain Intense from seeming, at any point, edible.

And yet there is that addictive, nutty, creamy (borderline cherry/almond?) flourish throughout that flirts with whetting the appetite. Another fragrance that has a similar effect but totally different note profile is Narciso For Her Musc Noir Rose. Somehow also as delicious-smelling as cookies, yet totally inedible due to a rosy, soapy something that just rounds it out perfectly. Very interesting, and yet also uncomplicated enough to just put on and simply smell good for the next 6+ hours. (Edit: I mean 12+!)

adyna05_sv

Oh this is lovely ❤️! Such an elegant, mature, sophisticated, refined scent! A very wearable, classic perfume perfect as a signature!

supergirl9412

I enjoy the original EdP and am happy to have this. Much like the original, Mon Guerlain Intense is almost all base notes. It’s deep and smooth with a roasty, almost earthy licorice/cola-like sweetness, making the original feel bright and more candied in comparison.

Only when wearing them on opposite wrists do I notice a difference, otherwise they’re fairly similar. So, if you love the original Mon Guerlain, you’ll very likely enjoy this. Do you need both? Not really, unless you just love the original and/or can appreciate the subtle differences.

CRE@M

Amazing perfume! Long lasting and a big compliment getter.

MuscularMan27YO.

this fragrance has that strange strength thats more than just a scent, when it hits you its that heat in the nose, its really strong when it hits you- I dont get that much vanilla- its just a lot of rose spiced up with that patchouli and toned down by vanilla. It feels weak at the start compared to other fragrances, but its peak is way longer instead, but when it hits you its, It does have that sitting strength. where you could smell the fragrance around you after 20hours in some cases.and in the places youve been.

duaa abed

ennoying maybe too vanilla for me .. prefer libre range to this line

perfume_angel

I love this! But you have to be a fan of lavender to appreciate this beauty. To me this is much better than the original Mon Guerlain as it is thicker, denser and sweeter. If there was such thing as a lavendar vanilla cookie with some licorice then it would smell exactly like this. It’s also a very classy fragrance that will make you feel so elegant and put together. The longevity and sillage is great too and this is my favourite lavender fragrance.

MomBomb

I like this, but I love the OG. Both have something it it that has the essence of Emeraude perfume.
Tested out big bottle for open for trade! Please message me.

whisperology

My signature as of late. It's such an easy reach. Quality, luscious smelling vanilla. Comforting lavender (which, I will admit, is a BIT sharp on first spray). I want to curl up in a blanket scented with Mon Guerlin Intense's late dry down. It may be a crime to say this, but the licorice note reminds me of that in Pink Sugar, in a good way! That scent always comforted me but I wouldn't wear it today.

This is grown-up, but not old. It is absolutely perfect for fall and winter. I don't own the original, but may purchase it for the spring/summer as I personally wouldn't wear this in the heat.

My husband said I smelled like marshmallows when I wore this. To me it's far more complex, but I won't complain about smelling like marshmallows either.

6-7 hours on skin, absolutely eternal on clothes. Will be purchasing a backup bottle soon!

Youlerie

Too sharp and mature lavender that numbs my senses and makes me lose consciousness. Been way too much to me recently.

AleshaA

I’m so in love with this fragrance and the OG edp I have many back up bottles of both I have finely found my signature scent so smooth and gorgeous wish it had more lasting power but I guess it’s better than most designer perfumes nowadays

A good few sprays does the trick the edp for warmer weather and the intense for cooler weather
It’s just perfect with all my favourite notes in one a marvellous creation indeed

When it really settles in to your skin the dry down smell like A softer Dior HP edp
poison girl edp but lighter
This one’s in between both so it feels just right and so beautiful

gretta

What do y'all feel is the difference between this and Mon Guerlain OG?? Which one do y'all prefer? I bought the lotion and it smells good - but is the best about 30 mins after I put it on, rather than immediately out if the bottle.

Lovijen

As soon as I tried this on my wrists in the store, I thought "this feels like me". Been trying to find a signature scent for years and I don't think I've ever felt that a perfume is so "me" until this one. How fitting that the name is Mon Guerlain (intense). Been trying the original and I like it but this is love. Also almost immidiately got a compliment from a stranger after I put it on the first time.
Lavender is one of my favorite notes, and it is perfectly balanced in this perfume. The vanilla and iris makes the lavender warm and powdery, and the liquorice and patchouli gives it a little edge. To me Mon Guerlain Intense is like an early evening sky with different hues of pink and lilac and stars peaking through light clouds. Very dreamy.

Sodastream83

This is almost identical to Kayali Vanilla28, but with an added lavender note. It is very comforting, but I miss the fizzy opening of the original. Also I feel the intense become more masculine in the drydown. I layer this with Fireside flurries from B&BW to soften it a bit, highly recommend!

Kucemi

This is super different from the original Mon Guerlain. It has the flowery subtle but the perfume is spicy boozy vanilla on me and is definitely for more mature women. In certain aspects, it reminds me of the boozy vanilla vibes in Dior Vanilla Diorama. Stays on for ages and projects well. Could faintly smell it even after taking bath.

Jme3976

Stunning scent.

Hannehoney

Blindbuy :) So after first spray I get a little overwhelming scent of citrus...but after about two minutes what I get is a beautiful vanilla mixed with tonkabean and licorice...a little lavender in the background. If you like Poison Girl, you should try this :) This perfume makes me feel good, it has a calming and comforting effect on me. It reduces my anxiety. Its like getting a hug from someone special. Sillage and lastingpower is amazing. I got several compliments :) Perfect for fall and winter.

SaraZigova

That lavender killed it for me 😶

Coffeeandscents

This is one of my top favorite perfumes. It is a beautiful rich sweet vanilla perfume, with a hint of sweet lavender. It is not a sharp, lavender note like the one in Libre. The lavender in this is comforting and soft mixed with the sweet vanilla, and an earthy dry down of patchouli. It leaves a nice scent trail- when I was in Las Vegas there is a Guerlain shop and I smelled every perfume Guerlain had to offer, this was the winner for me.

soso.sofia

Despite the fact that vanillas are not my favourite, I adore Mon Guerlain Intense. The impression it gives me is that the lavender gives it a touch of comfort, while the coumarin and licorice give it an edge. Whatever the case, I think Mon Guerlain Intense is beautiful.

While it projects strongly after spraying, unfortunately I think I become anosmic to it after a while. The next day I can definitely smell it beautifully on my clothes, so it probably does actually have superb performance.

Compared to Mon Guerlain edp the original, which I also love, I think the original is more comforting, like a mother hugging her children and wearing a soft fluffy cashmere jumper, whereas the intense is the same person but adding on a leather jacket to go out for a glass of wine with her friends.

ConcreteRose

IM OBSESSED! I was gifted a sample by a sweet lady on Mercari and I can’t stop sniffing this! WOULD ANYONE LOVE TO REHOME THEIR MON GUERLAIN FOR ONE OF MY FRAGRANCES!? please send me a message ❤️

Sreza7

I’m comparing the dry downs of this to the OG. I used to own and love the original Mon Guerlain. But I eventually got sick of it and sold it. 2 years later I have decided to try the intense and it did not disappoint! Definitely more musky but softer, fluffier, less vanilla and more woody leaning masculine. The lavender is still there but stays behind everything. I would say the musk is the most prominent note I’m picking up. Which is not what I was expecting. The original Mon Guerlain has a more dense, rich vanilla note that stands out more compared to the intense.

I have decided to return this and stick with the original.

mimircks

THIS is the baby that made me look closer at Guerlain! This is ME, ok? I should just make MON GUERLAIN INTENSE my signature scent! Half way thru my current bottle & looking for a back up! Can I stop buying fragrances now, tho?!

violaodorata

wearing this feels like wearing a cloud of granulated lavender sugar! warm, sweet, airy, somewhat spicy and comforting. it opens a little citrusy, but Mon Guerlain Intense is really all about vanilla and lavender, supported by coumarin, iris and a little bit of sandalwood in the background. the original is less sweet and came across as sharper to my nose, with more emphasis on bergamot and lavender.

it’s a very strong ’like’ for me. it’s not only a beautiful scent but also very versatile, I think - it's cozy and appropriate when I’m having a slow day at home, but makes me feel put together as well and I’d happily wear it to a professional setting or for an occasion where I’d want to feel elegant. I'm not sure about the sillage but the longevity isn’t great - slightly better on clothes than skin, though!

Chynahmiyake

I’m in disbelief at how bad the longevity of this perfume is, so much so I thought that maybe I purchased a dupe! What convinced me that I hadn’t was me smelling my clothes the next day and realizing the scent was still there which was saving grace but it does NOT last in my skin whatsoever! It’s very sad because I love the smell. I have no idea if I’m going to keep it or not

SJGme

Opening for me is intense with a sharp licorice syrupy vibe. It reminds me of Robitussin cough syrup. But it fades quick enough and smooths into the dry down that has more of the OG DNA with less lavender. It's very nice and I'm keeping it, but will also buy the OG in the near future for the more comforting scent.

Longevity is very moderate lasting better on clothes vs skin. Sillage is moderate with slightly more points than longevity on skin.

patimbam

I should wait with my review for colder weather, but after few months of testing I can say that I reach for EDP (classic) much more than the intense version. In Fragrantica's rate, this is ok but EDP is "like" or "love". Intense is much more mature and heavy (and I say this as a person that loves vanilla and loves lavender), EDP is also pretty heavy but you do not feel overwhelmed by the composition. And please try it on yourself! Blotter lies a lot.

Aisha007

Mon Guerlain Intense and Mon Guerlain EDP are my most complimented fragrance despite not being my favourite fragrances. They project very well on my skin.

Allegoria

I look at all the notes — and they don’t make a lick of difference to me. Because my overwhelming take on this MG Intense is a melted chocolate & rich toffee sauce slowly poured over the best vanilla ice cream. Just an impression. It is absolutely delicious! I want to drink it in. And this from a person that thought they’d never wear an “Intense” fragrance.

However, it is strong. After spraying some on at the fragrance counter, I met a friend back at her car for an hour drive back home. And she nicely exclaimed that my fragrance made her eyes water & we’d have to roll down all the windows. Being a kind friend, I tried to wipe it off with wet-wipes to no avail. Intense it is — but fabulous at the same time. So great silage and longevity.

I’ll be waiting for winter to wear this masterpiece under sleeves & turtlenecks. In the meantime will spray on bedding & fabric. I love this!

andrewatic

@Kotikina, @bunnyblubber23,
This version contains higher dose of lavender of course, but first of all more coumarin - intensely sweet, toffee, vanilla-hay-almondy multifaceted aroma chemical, or possibly koumalactone - a more powerful coumarine-like material. I can also smell Toscanol out, which is a rather dark "licorice" note. I obviously don't know the formula, but that's what my nose is able to identify at the first whiff.

Fragrance Fan <3

I love this scent, it's my favourite followed closely by the original MG EDP.

It is very very strong, sexy, feminine scent. The projection is extremely good and so is the longevity. Well worth the money. 10/10.

MG EDP is a pretty, classy, feminine scent. I would wear that in the day time but the intense version is date night or going out version where you want to leave a lasting impression. I always get compliments on this one. I think its appropriate for any season if you like strong heavy scents but if you choose to wear it in the day time, spray very light lol.

It is sweet, creamy, woody and floral. The vanilla, liquorice, sandalwood and lavender are the more prominant notes.

I will always keep this in my collection. If I didn't have so many fragrances I would make this my signature scent.

milica8888

I want this to be my signature! Can’t wait to buy it.. It was love at first scent. Very tender, but sharp at the same time. IT’S PERFECT , 10/10

Kotikina

It is interesting how some people say there is more vanilla in this one, and others say the lavender is more prominent. I belong to the latter group. In my opinion there are two factors that make it differrent from the original one: a bolder lavender which is aromatic and borderline pungent, and some smokiness reminiscent of tobacco a little bit. I am quite confident there is a hidden note that isn't stated - probably incense. Although, can it be some earthy iris instead..?
Despite in the opening I don't get as much of buttery toffee lavender kind of scent, in the drydown the intense version becomes more and more similar to the original one.

AlinkaSun

This is a great flanker of OG Mon Guerlain. Because you can smell the original DNA of this line but it has some new notes that changes the fragrance enough to really distinguish OG and Intense versions.
Main difference is strong citrusy opening which comes from top notes of mandarin and bergamot. It actually overpowers the lavender which was a main player in OG Mon Guerlain.
As it dries down the crispiness of citruses fades away and scent warms up and becomes more sweet. Jasmine, Vanilla, Sandalwood and Patchouli take over main roles in this scent.
I love Mon Guerlain Intense just as much as I love OG. Lovely, feminine and comforting - my description of it. You can wear it to any occasion, any time or season. Its definitely signature scent worthy.

SnowFleur

I adore this perfume. I found it through this site when I was looking for a substitute for Lavanila’s Lavander Vanilla. They smell nothing alike but I knew I wanted a perfume that had these notes. This is a beautiful fragrance, every time I wear it I wonder why I don’t wear it everyday! Decent longevity and sillage. I haven’t had it for very long but I can’t wait to wear it in the winter!

amynoureldin

A masterpiece in a bottle.. adore it really!

wcalcano

What a beautiful fragrance… something from the OG is a headache inducer, but this intense version is awesome. More dense, well blended, rich, a bit darker and has better performance.

QueenieIrenie

Intense has a stronger licorice note in the opening than the OG but the drydown is very similar. A bit warmer and more enveloping though, with ramped up vanilla, and seems stronger overall in terms of projection. It really is an "intense" version of OG. I love the original, but whereas that one seems like a year-round fragrance, this one seems better suited for cooler weather.

Elisil

J'aime beaucoup ce parfum mais il ne tient pas longtemps. 0 projection. Ce parfum conviendrait parfaitement à un homme pour la saison du printemps. Je le mixe avec Coco mademoiselle intense pour plus de tenue.

Cmlake89

After buying the OG and the intense and sensual. I can say OG mon guerlain is lavender and vanilla with more lavender. Sensual is lavender and vanilla with more vanilla. And intense is lavender and vanilla and licorice with licorice really stealing some of the show away from the soft vanilla at times. You have to love licorice to love this one.

sarahtheperfumelover

Like the EDP but sweeter and warmer. Perfect evening/winter counterpart to the original. It manages to stay true to the EDPs DNA but makes it yummier and sexier. Perfection.

lovegraceland

nah i'm obsessed . instant signature

Lcprickett

I LOVE Mon Guerlain but this one outstrips it by a mile. This is the sweet, deep, sexy, warm version of the OG. A YouTuber said this has an almost chocolatey quality and I have to agree. It’s like a sweet silky chocolate texture in the dry down.

pasha

Don't buy this.

No staying power whatsoever, and very timid projection. Compared to the original, and Florale, this leaves a lot to be desired in regards to the lifespan. Supposed to be Eau de Parfum; supposed to be 'Intense'.

How?

It is lacking. And don't believe anyone who says this is long-lasting with admirable projection. Test the original and this one together; you'll see my point.

Aisha007

I did not get the OG, which has been my signature scent for close to 4 years, so opted for this, I love it, I love that I got it. Lasts long, but if I get the OG I will surely buy it as well.

likesleet

i need to test this again because this was a lot harsher than I thought it would be. i barely got vanilla. this was spicy, woody, and fresh. the prominent notes were bergamot, tonka bean, patchouli, jasmine sambac, & sandalwood. i personally don't love a lot of those notes, but clearly many of y'all do.

Aliebling

Intoxicatingly feminine sweet perfume floating in a fluffy cloud of vanilla goodness. I've been suffering from either olfactory fatigue or COVID-related anosmia for months, and had mostly recovered except for a weird inability to smell vanilla notes. I almost cried when I sprayed this and felt myself enveloped in a Guerlain vanilla cloud. Lavender and clean patchouli are strong in the opening, but the whiffs I get throughout the day are almost pure vanilla. I'm ecstatic; I want to bathe in it. I want to spray it on everything I own.

laramharam

is it just me or does the new formulation smell different? even the color is a bit more brownish than before

Sugarpoiso

A Beautiful "Classy" fragrance. I'm just getting to know this fragrance but so far I feel this shares a similar base or background with Note Vanille, Vanilla 28, even Angel but toned down. This does smell refined and to my nose the licorice really shines and adds personality. I don't get tons of lavender. There's also something slightly fruity or cherry like but buried in the fragrance. I would not call this gourmand AT ALL. At least I personally wouldn't want to eat something that smelled like this. Overall I like it a lot.

churinl

Simply magnificent! I received this in a swap with a lovely and very patient Fragrantician. Honestly, as much as I love Guerlain, I never had much interest in the Mon Guerlains. I am ambivalent about lavender at best, mostly because I always found it a bit too masculine for my tastes. YSL Libre opened me up to the possibility of at least a unisex lavender, but this little masterpiece is quite feminine! As is to be expected with Guerlain, the vanilla is extraordinary, and the lavender, vanilla, coumarin, and touch of musk create this effect of light fluffiness that I can not get enough of.

I was beginning to despair about the direction the house was taking after being purchased by that notorious butcher of perfumery, LVMH. Flanker after flanker with Mon Guerlain as well as Le Petite whatever (the name escapes me at this time) just made me think that quality was being sacrificed in order to make a quick buck. That may hold true, but if Mon Guerlain Intense is the result of this strategy, then I'll take it.

I still can't believe I've fallen in love with a fragrance with a strong note of lavender! What a pleasant surprise!

TheSweaterGirl

This fragrance is beautiful. A warm, cozy and clean(I’m looking at you, hint of lavender) vanilla based scent. I really find this so delectable. The downside to me is performance. I find it is an intimiate/close wearing fragrance with only moderate longevity, even with what I consider to be “overspraying” with approximately 10/12 sprays.

Before I bought it, I was worried it would be redundant for me, already owning a lavender/vanilla in YSL Libre Intense. But these 2 fragrances are night and day. Totally different scents/profiles/performance and wearability. Libre Intense is heavy on the lavender, masculine leaning, a deep thick scrumptious vanilla dry down, and a sillage that will knock your socks off, it is more challenging to wear, and can be offensive to those in close proximity. Mon Guerlain EDP Intense is almost all vanilla. Pillowy soft gorgeous vanilla, made fresh and light by virtue of a delicate touch of lavender, with the powdery touch of iris. It is a bit powdery, a touch woody, definitely softly spicy and a just plain beautiful, bountiful vanilla. So very feminine and delicate. Feminine done right. No need for sickly screechy florals😅.

I really really like this, and I may scoop up a few more bottles to ensure I can bathe myself in this when the mood strikes. Easy to wear regardless of season/setting. Not really an elegant night out scent for me personally though. A cozy night at home, office friendly, lunch with girl friends scent.

For me this plays the same role in my fragrance wardrobe that JPG La Belle does. A soft, sweet, cozy scent. I’ll use up my bottle of La Belle and forget about it. Whereas I don’t plan to be without this sophisticated soft beauty.

lexjbr98

I really adore this fragrance! On me it smells like a powdery soft, warm vanilla. It is very pretty, it smells like a woman who knows what she wants but she’s soft spoken and careful with her words. It is not a bossy smell but an elegant one. I guess it could be classified as mature? But to me it is playful and for anyone who likes it (I am 24). I haven’t owned it long but it was love at first sniff! I have already gotten a few compliments on it too. On me it lasts a really long time, and as I move around the scent moves with me and trails along. After a night out I still smell it when I wake up!

eelii

I love the original Mon Guerlain, so I decided to try the intense version… Oh how I love this one!
While MG is more sparkly, MG Intense is deeper and warmer. I see both of them as very cozy fragrances that you want to snuggle up with. But while MG is like a (still very cozy) short-ish hug, MG Intense is the kind of hug that you want to spend all the evening with, cuddling with your loved ones if front of the fire. (And I can easily picture both an husband and kids, here, as I agree that this is a “wife / mom” kind of scent)
It’s very comforting, like a very deserved hot bubble bath after a long week of work and errands.

I have an hard time thinking of someone who could be offended by this fragrance, and it’s my go to for when I know I’ll be in close proximity with other people that might not enjoy perfume that much. Even though I like to wear it even around the house because it puts me in a good mood.

My only problem with it is that it doesn’t last that long on my fragrance-absorbing skin. I hope that this will change after my pregnancy and that it’s just due to hormones being all over the place. But for now, I resolved this issue by spraying my clothes - and I’m happy to report that it does last a long time on them. (I still can smell it on a scarf that I sprayed probably around a month ago).

Now that we’re easing into spring and the weather is getting warmer, I’m reaching less and less for it, as it’s definitely more of a fall/winter fragrance to my nose. But I think it will still be great on colder or rainy days, or maybe during the evening.

EDIT: Changing this from a “love” to a “like” because the more fragrances I smell, the more this becomes slightly more boring and un-original. Still a perfume that I really like and that I love to wear when I want to feel extra feminine. I think one of the thing I like the most about this is the dry down in my clothes (especially wool sweaters in winter).

SophiaG

I have the EDT, which I absolutely love for its persistent lavender note. It's light and fresh, and my personal favorite from the line. I've been toying with the idea of buying either the original EDP or the Intense for the winter months, but it looks like the Intense just isn't for me.
Make no mistake, this fragrance is STUNNING, but the patchouli in the base is far stronger than that in the original (I can see how someone in a comment below mistook it for Angel). My love for MG comes from the lavender, and the patchouli and powdery vanilla in the Intense really drown it out. I think I'll stick with the original EDP for a cold-weather version.

missmaddiemac

Sensuelle was my favorite MG flanker for the longest time, but upon trying all of them again recently, this one by FAR is my number one. It’s so rich, sultry, unique, Guerlain, intoxicating. This lives up to the “Intense” in its name and projects well and has good lasting power. I had several people ask me what I was wearing when I wore it to work the other day. More than any other fragrance I’ve worn. I made them little samples of it to try, gotta spread the love... The more people who smell like this, the more people who get to smell other people smelling like this, the merrier. A masterpiece. *chefs kiss*

singlehandedbeauty

I'm not a huge fan of this range, but if you love the EDT and you want something richer, thicker, and heavier for cool weather and evenings, this one is for you. The EDP, despite the addition of floral notes and a heavy dose a vanilla, reads slightly more masculine because the lavender really is the star of the show. It's incredibly sweet while still feeling classy, but I personally can't handle sweet floral patchouli perfume profiles, especially if they contain rose. Would be a great gift for any MG lover.

mermaidylady

I wore this yesterday and my husband thought I was wearing Angel. Ugh. Whatever, I still love it!

Dark_Lady

This is the one for me. Mon Guerlain Intense makes me want to declutter most of my collection so this baby has room to shine. I don't think anything else can compare. I'd try to describe it but many here have done a better job than I could. I wouldn't change a thing about this. I'd be heartbroken if they ever discontinued it.

StarMagix

Still love this fragrance! It last such a long time and it smells classy to me. Not too bold or loud, just sexy in a good way.

jasiepooh

i purchased this because i was hoping it would be a longer lasting version of the original Mon Guerlain. i quickly realized it was not. as soon as i sprayed this on myself, i discovered two things: (1) this smell is somewhat distinct from the original though granted they share similar scent profiles and (2) i had instantaneously become a mom. yes, this scent turned me into a mother.

this scent to me is maternity encapsulated; it smells like an enveloping hug or a cozy sweater. i suppose the original mon does so as well, but this one in a different way. the original mon is a 41 year old mom who twirls around in a dress picking fruit from her beautifully landscaped garden to feed her adolescent children, while this is a 57 year old empty nester with a grayed bun, a penchant for wise advice, and a daily ritual of making fresh tea.

i guess by my own description neither of these scents are particular for me (me being a single, childless early 20s gal), but i think they're both uniquely beautiful, and i will continue to wear them happily

fanntonyoscar

This is a beautiful fragrance, but I’m more interested in the EDP. The intense version is more powdery on my skin, not more vanillic or lavendery. Somehow it’s a bit longer lasting, though. Either way, I prefer the EDP for its sparkle. On me, MG Intense is MG with powderiness in place of the sparkle.

Fuegogo

Beautiful perfume. You can’t stop sniffing your wrist. It’s sexy but also comforting. Many layers.
I wore this out in East London recently and the barman told me I smelled “divine”.

Nicole79

Beautiful opening! Sweet, warm, velvety , fluffy powdery....after it set down...close to the skin, reminds me Angel Muse...but Mon Guerlain it is less woody in the dry down.with powdery vanilla while.. Angel Muse has Vetiver, ! So there are very similar! Same style, ❤️ warm orientals powdery and cosy kind of fragrances , perfect for the cold season! A must try.

🗣Mon Guerlain Edp Intense:

Pure Utter Class, In A Beautiful Retro Bottle, And That Also Includes The Original "Mon Guerlain Edp" Which I Happen To Own And Adore Also!! (DEFFO WORTHY TO HAVE BOTH, AND SO DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER) For Never Has A Perfume I Own, Brought Me SOoooooo Many Beautiful And Positive Comments!! When I Have This On Me, + This Intense Version Really Lasts On My Skin A Good 20+ Hours!! The Soul Difference Between The Original And The Intense Is That The Original: Is More Airy, Fruity, And Lighter, Although It Still Has That Aromatic Lavender Vibe In It, And Fantastic Lasting Power, And The Intense: Amps Up The Aromatic Lavender Vibe To The Max, Adds A More Green Vibe, And Has Two Different Types Of Vanilla That You Can Really Tell Apart, It's Also More Warmer, And Yet Is NOT Sickening Sweet In Anyway!! (The Lavender Keeps The Sweetness Well Toned Down) This Fragrance Would Be More Suited For Evening Wear, Spring, Autumn And Deffo Winter Time!! Where As The Original Is More Perfect For Daywear, Springtime And Maybe Summertime!! And I Would Also Like To Add, That This Intense Version Smell's Absolute Perfection On My Husband, So Guy's Deffo DON'T Shy Away From This Absolute Beauty, As It's Perfectly Unisex In Everyway!! The House Of Guerlain, Has ALWAYS Been My Mum's No.1 All Time Favourite French Perfume House!! And In Her Honest Opinion, Simply The Best That Money Can Buy!! Mon Guerlain, Is Simply Beautiful, It's So Well Blended, And Smells Expensive And Classy!! And Both Layer Well On Top Of Each Other!! Hopefully Mon Guerlain Will Go On To Become A Real Classic Like "Jicky" Already Is!! (Jicky Is A More Shaper, Green Forage, Lavender Fragrance & Totally Unisex) Compared To The More Softer Mon Guerlain!! Mon Guerlain Deffo Is A Real Winner In My Opinion, And This Intense Only Adds To The Over All Magic Of It!!

Cloud_9

I wanted to like this but it’s very strong. Not for hot or warm weather at all. Upon first spray I get the citruses, lavender combo and the vanilla undertone sneaks in. As it begins to settle the white musk just becomes way to intense/nauseating. Not for me but I do enjoy the EDP.

I’m had a hard time choosing between Mon Guerlain EDP and Mon Guerlain Intense but I think I will be going with the original EDP and here’s why: In the opening and mid of Mon Guerlain Intense, I get a beautiful punch of rich, dark, sugary vanilla. There is something almost cherry-like about it, with a fruity patchouli base. Unfortunately, in the deep dry-down, I get a bit too much of a sharp woody note that leans masculine (almost a bit like burnt rubber) on my skin. *I felt the same about the drydown of La Vie Est Belle Intensement.* Mon Guerlain EDP, on the other hand, dries down to an incredibly beautiful, fluffy sweet vanilla with a touch of lavender. There is nothing sharp or synthetic-smelling in it, and for this reason, I will be purchasing the original EDP. Both fragrances are captivating and I may pick up the Intense version in the future, but I think the OG EDP is the right fit for me at this point in my fragrance journey!

melusina1982

I can clearly smell two types of vanilla. Round like the EDP but a little "flatter" if it makes sense.
It gives me Lolita Lempicka's vibes. The licorice is stronger on this one.
I love it as much as the original.

Raluca19

This one is a masterpiece in a bottle. The lavender tones down the sweetness of the vanilla, but only enough to make it more refined than any gourmand out there. It is feminine and sexy in a mysterious way. Right now I can say I have 2 signature scents, this one and hypnotic poison. But where the dior is bold, loud and in your face, like a young woman that dresses to demand attention because she still needs confirmation for her attractiveness, this one is more elegant, it's the kind of sexy a woman that knows she's gorgeous and has a killer body exudes around her, that woman that knows her presence will be noticed regardless of her attire. it makes people want to come closer to get a whiff of it. I only own monster sillage perfumes, and they all get compliments, but this one is the only one that has even men come closer, bathe in the cloud it makes around me and ask me what specifically I'm wearing.
As for performance, I can't complain. I have people telling me I'm still leaving a trail behind me even after 5-6 hours and although my nose gets used to it by the end of the day, in the morning I always smell it in my hair, still going strong. It is an absolute love for me.

Mysticmiah1970

The original mon guerlain edp is my signature scent but when the intense came out I just had to try it very similar but the lavender and vanilla are amped right up this could be a new signature lol love both though and guerlain works so well with my skin chemistry I’ll stick with both

Sweetcove

This perfume is my one of my favorite scent. It’s such a beauty ! I would describe it as a fluffy powdery vanilla, it makes me feel so cozy, warm and feminine. The woodiness and the aromatic side of MG intense prevent it from getting too sweet and make it balanced. Give this gem a try !

mermaidylady

A few months ago, I reviewed this perfume and decided that while it was worthy of its "intense" moniker, it was too intense for my taste and therefore I had no plans to add it to my collection. Well, surprise surprise, I caved. I've added it to my collection and I have no regrets! Mon Guerlain is my favorite fragrance, my signature. This is basically the OG MG with the lavender toned down and the vanilla dialed up to 10. I love it.

Sophiaalexa

I love love love this perfume.

You can pick up some of the lavender.
This Intense is spicier than the EDP. I think it is a little bit more mature and is more expensive. But I still think it's better and I cant wait to get my hands on a full bottle.

I will say, I smell almond a lot in this perfume, no matter how many testers I try from whatever store. I believe the tahitan vanilla has a nutty scent to it. I also get a mild scent of cherry, which doesn't last too long. But in my nose and my boyfriend we both detect cherry and almond.

Sexy? - It can be.
Feminine? - Yes
Rating - 9/10

Mon Guerlain is one of those fragrances everyone but me has tried, or so it seems. Unfortunately, I still haven't tried it yet, but I did try it's intense flanker, aptly named Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Intense. For an intense fragrance I have to say I am a bit disappointed. I applied my sample about 2 hours ago and I can't detect it on myself anymore. It's entirely possible that I have gone anosmic to it, I don't want to reject that possibility right away, but it's highly likely that it's due to the faulty sample that I had. (Second day in a row this has happened, yesterday it was with Floral Street Wild Vanilla Orchid)

When I first sprayed the sample I smelled a citrusy lavender and a bit of vanilla. It was very lovely! The benzoin came out soon after and I wasn't a fan, but it faded pretty quickly. Sadly I didn't really get a chance to pay attention to the changes in the fragrance because before I knew it it was gone. So, although I liked what I got to smell I don't think I'll be buying this fragrance any time soon. My sample wasn't all the way full so I can't test it out again unless I get another sample. I may or may not do that. I tend to just let designer samples find their way to me lol.

Desirelle

This is such a lovely flanker. I also love the original EDP. when I go to choose between the two, I always pause. I tend to gravitate towards the original for running errands (I think it has a little more energy) and this one more for home, doing things around the house, and I love one spray just before bed. It’s very comforting.

Oh, she's a beauty. I purchased this one blindly. I was concerned after trying it for the first time because the opening was a bit heavy and unlike the original (which I have and love) I couldn't really smell the lavender...at first. About 30 minutes after the initial spray, I started to notice the licorice note soften and that's when the vanilla and lavender notes pulled thru. The licorice note tho...it's beautiful. It adds warmth and that coziness that I was hoping for. Such a classy, warm, sophisticated fragrance. Amazing cold weather scent with good sillage. Definitely one I will repurchase.

Ella_22

This fragrance shines in the drydown. If you find it too harsh on the first spray, give it 30 minutes to settle and smell again. In my opinion Mon Guerlain intense is the ultimate cozy winter scent. If a scent could have a texture, this would be a big, warm, soft cashmere scarf. The lavender is definitely there, but in a sweeter, more vanillic, more complex way than in the OG Mon Guerlain. Just like the OG this fragrance is quite mature, but not in an old lady kind of way. Mon Guerlain intense is sophisticated, sultry and elegant. I heard someone describe it as follows “if you give someone a hug and you smell this perfume on them, you want to hug them closer.” I think that captures it perfectly. I don’t think this smells masculine at all, not in the dry down at least. It almost has a toasted marshmallow feel to it.

la.femme.scent

vintage vanilla, powdery, a touch of fruity, a little spicy and woody; lavender is toned down, has an old world vibe

RachelSeun

I adore the original Mon Guerlain but the original doesn’t perform well on my skin so I was hoping that Mon Guerlain Intense would work better for me. Yes, the intense version is just that - intense, however, the Licorice and lavender notes take over and pull way too strong on me. The joy I got from the original smelling delicate, powdering and feminine has been replaced here with something that to my nose actually smells a bit masculine and medicinal. It may be a bit sweet but I actually can see men wearing this. Much prefer the beauty of the original. Such a shame because I really wanted to love this one.

Diablomoni

I love this so much. So strong, yet soft and sensual. If anyone has been to the Aria in Las Vegas, it reminds me of the scent just entering the Crystals mall. So comforting and beautiful

LemonLane

Soooo I adore Mon Guerlain OG so I was pretty pumped for this. To be honest, all I smell is a softer Mugler Angel. Patchouli is way too prominent and it just doesn’t have the magic of the original MG to me. Sold it right away.

Mira J

I love how the vanilla is amped up in this flanker. The vanilla here is quite similar to vanilla 28. Not a fan of lavender as a note but love how it is blended in this intense version as well as the og. Super smooth and not screechy. Beautiful comforting and classy.

will.more

This is the flanker you should get :)

I tried the original and I didn't care for it
But then found this one on a gift set and blind bought and I loved it

Longevity and sillage is great

Ugh I really thought I would love this one, so much so that I purchased a 50ml bottle (it was on sale but still). I have not tried the original but seeing reviews that this one had more vanilla I thought it safer to go with this. Boy was I wrong. To me this smells like this argan oil shower gel I used to use. Very soapy and spicy smelling to my nose. That is what I get from this fragrance. I do not smell lavender or vanilla. I literally do not understand. Massively disappointed :(

Mennaa

My finace got this for me 2 years ago. At first, I didn’t get the hype, used it few times and that’s it. Tried it again last winter, and holy I was obsessed! This is pure lavender vanilla heaven. It has to be applied in winter tho. When applied in hot weather, it turns into a cloying masculine scent. To each their own, but I hate when scents have a masculine drydown. However, I find that this scent in particular has different drydowns depending on the weather? Perhaps performs differently even. In summer, it’s a cloying masculine scent with a dirty patchouli drydown. In winter, it’s a very feminine motherly scent that lingers with vanilla in the end.
I wouldn’t say it’s a safe blind buy for younger audience, but for mature women it’s def a safe blind buy I would say. The longevity of this is mad crazy. Although, the bottle has a very juvenile look to it, the scent is sooo mature. Definitely didn’t expect that it would smell like this when I first saw the bottle. I would say it’s a lovely scent for me, but I have to look classy to own it and ofc it has to be in the midst of winter to enjoy it.

Oh, my goodness, this perfume is drop dead gorgeous. Instantly in my top five forever and always. I haven’t instantly connected with a perfume like this since I tried Burberry Her.

I can't explain the way this perfume makes me feel. Nostalgic, vulnerable, beautiful, stubborn and everything that makes me a woman. Let me try to explain without gushing or oversharing...

The original Mon Guerlain was one of my favourite perfumes when I was younger, but the man who bought it for me turned out to be a monster and was very abusive. From then on, I couldn’t bear to to be reminded about what his idea was on how I should dress and smell like, and while I finished my bottle, I never wanted to return to those memories.

I was gifted this for Christmas by a family member, and I’ve fallen head over heels for Mon Guerlain Intense. She’s bolder and more assertive somehow than before, but she’s still soft. Still a romantic at heart. Still believes in the fairy-tale. Airy lavender with a cool masculine edge with the plushest vanilla. Heavenly...

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, this perfume makes me remember and forget everything at the same time. It reminds me to be vulnerable, but also that I survived and am a stronger woman. I would never give that man credit, but I went from a woman who believed she couldn't survive without him, to someone who has evolved and is actively trying to do good in this world.

I’ll never be without this gem now.

floszra

Lovely vanilla + lavender composition with great performance, but despite I've been loving this for 2 years now, I still don't have it in my collection. I cannot explain why, I always buy something else.
I love all the Mon Guerlain collection and this is my favorite alongside with Sparkling Bouquet.

Divine! Repeat after me d-i-v-i-n-e.

After years of ping ponging ‘Do I really need it? Mon Guerlain is so common’ in my head, I finally have the intense version of the perfume in my little collection.

I enjoy the masculine twist on female perfumes. And Mon Guerlain Intense definitely has a small hint of that - lavender comes through delicious vanilla and woody notes. The combination is just gorgeous! The scent is elegant and feels very special. At the same time, I don’t think Mon Guerlain Intense should wait for special occasions to be worn - wear this signature-worthy perfume everyday.

I also own and love YSL Libre Intense. In my opinion, they aren’t similar at all, going in different directions. Here the lavender is much more subtle and bigger focus is on vanilla. Libre Intense is rather daring and loud while Mon Guerlain Intense feels a bit cozier.

cheleine

*sighs* Ah yes! The angelic vanilla drydown of the original EDP but this time, it’s right from the start…This version has more vanilla, less lavender and more powder and the result is a fluffier, sweeter and more long lasting perfume. I’d say sillage is a tiny bit better too. Oof I love this one. This is the only Mon Guerlain version that actually works for me, but it’s only for the colder days as it’s kind of heavy, at least on me. I find it to be more forgiving than the original and also more feminine and sensual. For gourmand lovers this will be a love. Truly beautiful, a little masterpiece in my very humble opinion.

Roos88dutch

Same vibe as narsico Rodriguez rouge . Mature ,but so aromatic I use it at home to relax

Veronika95

I like to write reviews as a first impression hits, and this is an immediate love! My initial thought was that this is a combo of La Belle and La Vie eat Belle with a little hint of lavender. It's quite strong, and I think it will be long lasting but I will edit that later. It's heavy sweet sensual fragrance, nothing for girlies who likes a little spritz 😁

Edit 2 weeks later: it's super duper long lasting, if you told me it's pure perfume not edp I would believe you. Wow I love it very much! This is what I call A PERFUME 💝 totally agree with person below, this perfume delivers

mariaakanbi

Okay so growing up in a West African community that LOVES perfume, I feel like THIS is what perfume is meant to smell like.
This is what it felt like to be wafted with opulence, confidence and grace. You can smell the price tag on this one.

I have a fair amount of perfumes but from the moment I smelt this, I knew that this was going to be the gift that keeps on giving.
It is fairly 'mature' but only if you don't have the confidence and aloofness to pull it off. It's very stimulating. And yes, very powdery... But not like talc or whatever. It's as if you've wondered into the pantry of a scent witch and sniffed through all her best powder bottles of herbs and dried flowers... and then accidentally spilled a tincture of her finest citrus scent.

But I'll be honest, if this wasn't well crafted it could EASILY have ended up smelling like potpourri, which I think is true of all scents that have wood notes and lavender.

Edit: After awhile, but especially on my skin, this reminds me of cherries and cherry bakewell tarts.

this perfume grows on you!! i had only smelled the og Mon Guerlain when i bought this perfume, so it was kinda a blind buy?? idk 😭

at first when i opened my bottle up and sprayed my arm, the perfume had a sorta screechy alcohol-y note that made me sneeze (probably the lavender + licorice). i was so scared that i'd made a mistake of buying this perfume... but once it melted into the skin this was BEAUTIFUL! it definitely does sweeten on the skin and the vanilla gets stronger over time.

i've definitely heard that this is a mature perfume, which is understandable. the vanilla + lavender combo is very comfy, warm & relaxing, which are things that a lot of us associate with moms :). with that being said, im 17, and i dont think this is an "old lady" scent. people of all ages could wear this and carry it

performance is also great!

jayznar

If you enjoy lavender facets and vanilla facets in a perfume, this is a must try!
DOUBLE VANILLA + LAVENDER + LICORICE + MUSK. That’s basically what I get. This is much better than the original TO ME because I found the OG slightly lack lustre.

MG Intense has a calming effect which I find quite unique and haven’t experienced before. This is able to capture the calmness from Lavender in a lovely way. This is because it happens to be smooth and and aromatic at the same time. When this scent accompanies my stress filled days, I feel just a bit better which is good for me

Diari

For those who aren't aware: patchouli is an incredibly versatile & multi-faceted ingredient that can be easily manipulated. It can be skanked up to be more animalic, or have its testicles snipped off to smell more fruity. In some cases though, it can smell like chocolate. And I LOVE the vanilla-chocolate-lavender combo I get from this during these cold days.

If you're a man and you like Mugler's A*Men, give this a try.

Aveline

The soft, cozy aspect of the original is what really appeals and makes sense to me regarding the whole buttery lavender scent profile. The intense version however amps it up with far more rugged white musk, which I feel kills the vibe. I suppose it brings the fuzzy blanket element, but for me it is just too much. My skin just loves to project this breed of musk in a way that makes me self conscious and reminds me of my grandfather; I don't know what it is. I would still recommend if you find the original too light, the longevity and sillage are killer with a mere dab.

crystalchim

when i first sprayed it i disliked it cause of the citrus notes. when the citrus died down, i could smell vanilla and it was a really pleasant smell. its super similar to the original that you can barely tell the difference. but the intense version is sweeter and the vanilla is much stronger while the lavender is less prominent which makes me prefer the intense version way more. it also has an incredible staying power, i had to scrub really hard in the shower to take it off. the scent is really dreamy but the lavender can be a bit screechy at times so im not always in the mood to wear this. it also comes of as kind of mature and i feel like its suits women of ages 30 and older.

Mila1988

gorgeous vanilla scent omg my new signature scent. the sillage is amazing and it lasts forever!

Szafirowy czar

I'm surprised to write it but this fragrance is too flowery for me

fgamz

This perfume is very similar to Kayali Vanilla 28. I didn't think they would be until I sprayed them side by side. Mon Guerlain does have that nice lavender note that really sets it apart. Vanilla-28 has that brown sugar note that makes it more of a desirable vanilla smell.

Mon Guerlain = buttery lavender vanilla
Vanilla-28 = buttery vanilla

Both smell elegantly sweet, oriental and slightly spiced. It just depends how much you like lavender in your perfume.

she_nose_best

Guerlain produces some of the best fragrances, not only in terms of the obvious - beautiful scents - but also in terms of ingredient quality, longevity, wearability and projection. Mon Guerlain Intense is no exception to this, it really lives up to the house's name. While I do have a large and eclectic fragrance collection, I have found myself reaching for this almost every day during autumn and winter, for dates, lunch with friends and even the office. Several people have asked what I'm wearing too.

Having smelled Mon Guerlain, I can say that I did like it, maybe in the same way everyone likes the actress nominated for a best supporting actress award. I would wear it for certain occasions when Intense might be too interesting and... intense for the situation or company. But Intense is the Academy Award winning actress in a lead role for sure. It's rich, warm, cosy, sexy and vanillic. So many fragrances get vanilla wrong but Mon Guerlain Intense's vanillic sweetness, which carries through a whole day of wear, is grown up and moreish, not at all immature and sickly.

TL;DR I have pretty much poured two bottles of this on myself in the past year. And I will be restocking.
