Not worth spending your money on. It’s like a light body mist of the EDP. The EDP is already light compared to its predecessor Mon Exclusif so the only thing I can recommend to draw this scent out is buying the body lotion. Of course the composition is exquisite but you’ve gotta drown yourself in this to get any projection and even then it won’t last long.

MelissaKS

Bought a small bottle because it was discontinued and when I wore it today, I noticed how similar it is to Coco Mad. I didn’t get that at first when I bought it months ago, but now I pick up on it. They’re definitely cousins or even sisters.

My favorite is the OG, but this could very well be the everyday version of MG. Very pretty fragrance and I’m happy to have it in my Mon Guerlain collection.

Treachaseff

This perfume is a pretty French mother who greets you at the door in the morning after you've stayed out all night. She whips you with a bunch of dried lavender for breaking your curfew. As you sit at the table and pick the lavender buds out of your ears and nostrils, she makes you a delicious caramel tart with citrus garnish. She sets it in front of you and kisses you on the head. You enjoy the tart with the kitchen windows open to let in the smells of jasmine, fresh lavender and sunshine.

Ferra_Verto

Powdery lavender and tart orange & bergamot accords, tapers off into an airy jasmine, caramel, and vanilla.
Much brighter than the original, has a very 'sunny' feel to it. This is perfect for warm/cool weather, so spring through autumn. It might be a touch sterile in the freezing cold.
Decent projection, creates a cloud around the body.

katarinacza

While the opening is quite sharp, after few minutes I adore it. Lots of lavender, but on my skin I also get jasmine, that is my favorite note in all perfumes. It's light yet elegant. I had it for some time, used only once or twice. Then sprayed it one day and fell in almost love.
Works great in hot and humid weather (30C+), gives nice projection.
All occasions appropriate - you cannot go wrong with it. office, date, casual walk and anniversaries, all approved.
Makes me feel clean and made-up. I think it is also ageless, therefore probably will buy it as a present for my mom too if i find it anywhere. Such a pity it is discontinued.

canabena

First impression I get a blast of lavender that quickly dissipates and then I get the lovely citrus notes, then the vanilla starts coming through. This is all around stunning I am in love! Personally not usually a lavender lover so I bought this on a whim hoping to like it but expecting that I probably wouldn't but I went for it and I am over the moon. This has a lovely elegance and radiance to it.This is also my first Guerlain fragrance and I will certainly be trying the OG Mon Guerlain next. I believe this is a safe blind buy. A lovely well balanced perfume suitable for any age.
I must also add this is the only perfume I have in my vast collection that I can smell virtually every note and I get the notes in order top, middle then base. This is fabulous my new fav already ordering a back up because I heard this was discontinued such a shame.

I had to update this review I am absolutely obsessed with this to the point its my new signature scent ! I wanted to reserve this as my future wedding scent but I love it too much and I must wear this on a daily. Ive already bought 2 back ups and I will continue to buy more because I never want to be without this.

la.femme.scent

I got a second bottle the Christmas before last after going through my first bottle. I just couldn't be without it. I got the edt for the summer, the intense for the winter, and the original for in between. But it works just as well in the winter as it does in the summer. It's a real head turner. One of my favs!

veda

Discontinued long time ago.
Shame.

BETHJANINEUNA

Sharp and bright citrus lavender. It’s great for warm spring/summer days. It feels energizing, as a smell it throughout the day. The EDT is more fresh and green. If you desire a rich gourmand, go with the EDP or intense.
This would be great on a man of detail, for summer, too.

LOST_HORIZON

Mon Guerlain Eau de toilette is a fragrance of attractive simplicity, very feminine and airy to enjoy without thinking about complications.

It does look similar to Mon Guerlain edp but this one is a little fresher at first because of the bergamot and mandarin. If you don't like bergamot or citrus I don't recommend it. It is true that it is not an exacerbating citrus but we must think that this is a Mon Guerlain for warmer times or for those people who saw the original too sweet.

Of course it smells like lavender, especially in its middle and final life, there it looks a lot like its older sister.

Durability is moderate and wake is moderate to low. But if you love the original and want more freshness and like the soft lavender smell this is for you.

I love it, it's a positive and happy perfume that has that soft and gentle touch of lavender that makes it different. At first it reminds me of Guerlain's Shalimar Souffle but this one is weaker.

If you like it, go for it, because it is already a disappeared in perfumeries. If you can't find it anymore you can try Sparkling Bouquet which is similar but its freshness is more based on a juicy pear and has less lavender

vibrant.girl

After testing several Mon Guerlain flankers, this is my take on the line:

Mon Guerlain EDP:
-cozy yet easily wearable daytime fragrance
-primarily herbal lavender, coumarin, licorice; ends with vanilla and very light patchouli
-my fave, the blend is great at every level of the wear

((Mon Guerlain EDT:))
-sharp green bergamot top, baby-powder-like note from orris+violet, same cozy vanilla base
-has a medicinal note, and lacks the coziness of the EDP (I think it's the ylang)
-my least fave

Mon Guerlain EDP Intense:
-the most accurate 'intense' flanker of any scent I've tried
-more lavender, more patchouli, more coumarin, more vanilla (especially in the dry down)
-while frags don't have genders, I could see men preferring this version as 'bolder' and spicier

Mon Guerlain L'Essence:
-retains the lavender, and has a nice jasmine-sandalwood heart/base
-does NOT smell like sweet frangipani (like I hoped) but instead the 'green'-smelling variety; still pretty but not what I wanted... it's a sister to Aerin's Hibiscus Palm, with a lavender twist.
-the vanilla comes up in the dry down and sweetens things out in a gorgeous way

Mon Guerlain Florale:
-powdery, creamy, floral flanker that shares DNA with the OG
-the florals are well balanced but it smells too much like vanilla baby powder for me

vivaLVmarie

I blind bought this on a whim just cause I love the EDP so much and miss it but it’s too heavy for me to use in Utah spring. It’s beautiful! The EDP dna is still there, you just have to wait for a bit but it’ll get there. The initial spray is so screechy and strong. I could not detect the notes cause it’s just that strong. So I let my perfume sit without its cap for a day to develop quite a bit (which I do in my other perfumes). But the dry down is gorgeous!! I get so hungry everytime I smell myself. It may not be as motherly (in a sweet and gentle way) as the EDP, but my husband said it’s pleasant and beautiful. He likes to hold me when I wear this perfume.

Sanrio

Almost like a mix between the original Mon Guerlain and n5 L'eau. Less vanilla than the original EDP not as sweet and decadent.

This one is more spring and summer time, bubbly, youthful, fresh. Unmistakable Mon Guerlain dna in there though! I actually really enjoy it layered over the EDP, that way I get the fresh sparkle of the EDT and the sweetness of the original.

tuubish55

It is not sweet as YSL Libre and more fresh. And, EDT version is better than EDP. If you like lavender with a little bit creamy scent, Mon Guerlain is it. At first it smells a little bit strange, like plastic; but then it gets sweet lavender notes.

Feisha1984

This is so pretty. The opening is citrus and lavender. It’s refreshing to me. It soon becomes sweet vanilla with a hint of lavender. I just wish it lasted a little longer on my skin. Love this!

SakuraFalls

I checked to make sure it is real, it is. I have the edt version.

The smell is phenomenal. The sillage has a huge radius.
So far it is such a great smell from the moment you spray all the way through the dry down. Very gourmand, even for an edt.
I can smell this strongly after 4 hours, and it is still noticeable on clothing two days later.

For an Edt this has some prominent base notes; the scent doesn't seem to change so much in the dry down.

Just so lovely. Almost incense-like.

Update: I am now a couple weeks in... it smells different to me. I smell Root-beer. It is an over-indulging caramel smell. I get all the base-notes after a couple minutes. Then out of no-where I get this phantom floral perfume that hits my nose. The middle notes play hide and seek.
Then back to the land of caramel, vanilla, and all the warm notes. Lavender is too intertwined with the other notes for me to think it "smells like" lavender, but it is very present; It melts in with everything.

tr_is

Very sharp and fresh citrusy opening but the dry down is Coco Mademoiselle with a very faint hint of citrus in the background.

Dzai

Its not what I expected. I did not get any lavender at all. In fact the top notes disappeared super quick and I was left with sweet vanilla and caramel. The dry down lasted on my skin for a little under 4hours. Its a sweet, beautiful, soft, feminine scent. Safe blind buy.

NanaLoBell

First you feels like a splash of lavender and orang-ish smell. Even though on my skin lavender gets masculine, the way this perfume is blended gives delicate, sweet lavender - the one that calms down the nevers after stresful day.

Im wearing it mostly in a spring/summer time, but there are moments for all the seasons when I reach out to this beauty - when I am looking for an inoffensive, floral-clean comfort scent. There is something soothing and pure that comes to my mind when I wear it, especially when I feel blue.

I saw that it’s been discontinued, will def spare those drops for special ocassions

Pia20

I am torn between the EDT and EDP versions of this. I do love the caramel notes on this one, it comes out after the top notes leave your skin. Gorgeous, sumptuous smell.

TillyWave

Flowers and Candy Perfume

I have to stop just blindly collecting Guerlains. I do love OG Mon Guerlain and I picked up a 30 ml of this for like 25 dollars just for continuity, I guess I really am a sucker controlled by advertising. I like this scent but my collection is getting so enormous I can't just be buying things I *like* enough to wear once a year.

I had no idea that this would be in the Coco Mademoiselle category. This top notes have that rich orangey bergamot saturated sweetness that CM has, and while it doesn't have patchouli the mild lavender acts as the grounding note to scale it all back and make it a hair more "masculine." The flowers - jasmine, ylang ylang, and orange blossom, are heavily candied and sweet, while becoming more "carameled" early on, with the sweets & caramel being pretty obvious instead of being discreetly in the background.

There is a bit of seriousness to this as I can smell the iris and violet notes once MG EDT dries down a bit, this is a Guerlain after all, but they are dusted with vanilla powder and lean in that direction vs being earthy.

Overall this really is the obligatory fresher, sweeter, younger, easier to wear version of Mon Guerlain. This is nice and easy to wear, and when I'm through with the winter doldrums I will probably wear this a few times vs wearing OG MG. Still I wouldn't have died if this had not made it to my shelf, but I have it and I do like to so I'll wear it. And the 30 ml bottle is rather cute, compared to the gargantuan 100 ml bottles. The cuteness matches its personality anyway:)

coconutkookie

It has therapeutic vibe like essential oils, but in a good way. I spray it before going to bed because it smells amazing. In the winter, I used bath and body works amber lotion, which is very similar to this one, and put this on. It smells like heaven. It does not smell sweet on me, but when it dries down on my clothes and pillows, it is pleasantly sweet.
My friend told me it was kinda manly, maybe because of the lavender. The edp is more sensual in my opinion, but the edt has greener notes that suits all year round.

GabbieSmithWindley

@Fenissa: Love love LOVE your review. 👏
Thank you for making note of the caramel in Mon Guerlain EDT. It might actually be the best caramel note/accord I've ever smelled in a fragrance. It reminds me of the caramel in Shalimar Parfum Initial; super realistic without being overly sweet/candy-like. Tip: Try layering the two together. Put the Mon Guerlain EDT on after a shower and seal it in with an unscented lotion.
Then, before you leave the house spray on a few sprays of Shalimar Parfum Initial. You can thank me later. 😉

Here are the qualities that I believe make the EDT superior to the EDP:
-Smells more complete/has more depth. The EDP to my nose has always smelled like it's missing something and that it's a little "too much of this, not enough of that."
- Better performance/longevity. From my experiences, the EDT lasts almost twice as long as the EDP and projects better as well.
-Not as sweet and is a more suitable year - round scent. Look, I'm all about wearing what you want, when you want.....but for those that DO put fragrances into seasons....the EDT wins the year-round, day to night battle.

What makes the EDP superior to the EDT:
The EDT is discontinued!!!! Why Guerlain...whhhyyyYYYY. 😭

Jajally

Surprisingly somehow it smells like younger veraion of Coco Chanel mademoiselle. It lasts on me 3-4 hrs which is impressive considered this is edt. I blind bought it bc someone said it’s already discontinued and tbh Im not disappointed at all

Tolkashutka

If the EDP is a big warm mommy hug of consolation with its prominent vanilla, then the EDT (with its enthusiastic citrus zest) is the energetic mom at the sidelines of a sporting event, cheering on their offspring. Definitely the summer flanker of the Mon Guerlain line.

I had two bottles at one time, both obtained at very reasonable prices. I ended up selling one and using up the rest of the other (last few drops sprayed today, matter of fact). The EDT is very enjoyable, but given that I am trying to drastically reduce the size of my collection, I find that it bears too much resemblance to the EDP to justify having both.

Adieu <3

Diari

Glad to report that there's no resemblance to Shalimar Souffle on my end. So refreshing! Sparkling mandarine that gradually deepens to the familiar vanilla-lavender with nuances of licorice and caramel.
I put a few drops of iris absolute on top and it's fresh-powdery heaven!

staceydtb

I got myself the 30ml bottle as the store I went to didn't have a tester. I thought it would be a safe blind buy, given that this one doesn't have a patchouli note that puts me off. I wasn't wrong! It's winter here in Melbourne, and I sprayed this on my sweater. Boy, do the caramel and benzoin give it such cosy sweater weather feel.

To me, it's a straight-up floral gourmand, if that even makes sense. I can imagine it being wearable in spring/summer.

This EDT is like some fancy dessert served in 5-star restaurants. However, I read somewhere that it's already discontinued. If that's true, that's a shame because this one's lovely.

b.a.denney

I got this for a good price off Mercari. When I first sniffed the bottle I thought "you knew you didn't like patchouli, why did you buy this". Well, I sprayed it, and thankfully it's a lighter patchouli. I like patchouli to be so subtle that I don't even know there's patchouli in the perfume. This isn't quite that laid back, so I'm hoping as I wear it that it doesn't overtake the entire scent.

I was hoping for a vanilla and lavender dominant perfume. WHOA HERE FOLKS, I just scrolled up to reread the notes, and apparently there isn't even patchouli in this edt version, just in the edp (and probably some flankers). I do now remember checking the notes before buying this, and thinking all looked like they were notes in my wheel house. That makes my first sniff even weirder. I'd swear there is patchouli in this edt version too. I checked out the Guerlain website and it appears the edt is no longer available so I couldn't check the scent notes.

So far I'm really liking it. I'm also happy that this is my first guerlain that doesn't have a messed up sprayer/cap assembly. I've had two guerlain perfumes where the cap will pull off the decorative ring that is supposed to stay attached to the neck of the bottle. So far, this one hasn't done that......

Update: I sprayed this on me right after it got delivered, but showered right after, making sure to soap up three times and literally scrubbing it off. I wanted a lighter perfume today because I didn't want my adult son to comment about my perfume "being too strong" when we went to Olive Garden. I just got home, and this EDT Mon Guerlain has overtaken the Victoria's Secret I'd put on after my shower. I'm shocked that three scrubs with Ivory soap, another perfume over top, and I'm still smelling Mon Guerlain......this might be hands down the best longevity of any of my perfumes, and I have a sizable collection.

matmeohoang

I blind bought this perfume because of the hugh discount in chemistwarehouse. The opening was nice, but after 30mins or so it started becoming sickly sweet on my skin. Too much of caramel & vanilla for my nose to tolerate. I’ll just keep the bottle for decor.

CallMeT__

LOVE.
Opens quite sharp because of the citruses but they dissipate quickly. I get some jasmine and orange blossom but the real stars are the vanilla and caramel. But don’t expect a gourmand type of sweetness because the vanilla is quite dry and aromatic (maybe because of the lavender. There’s a butteriness from the caramel but I still wouldn’t class the fragrance as sweet or gourmand. I find the EDT remains bright and airy for the majority of wear, but becomes more like the original in its final stages. Performance/Projection are moderate on me, and I love it like that cause not everything has to be beast-mode. I agree that if Coco Mad, Le Parfum Elie Saab are your vibe then this won’t be out of place in your wardrobe. I rank MG edt 8.5/10 and firmly a love! It’s a shame it has been discontinued.

mrsoutlaw

This is a "wait for it" fragrance. I do not like the opening of this one, at all. It opens as a very pungent citrusy lavender. But wait for it. I promise, you won't have to wait too long. As this fragrance dries down, it becomes a beautiful caramel vanilla with a touch of floral. It is soft, sweet, and enticing. I think that once this dries down, this fragrance is one that is fairly crowd pleasing. I think the hype behind it is a bit overrated as I would not describe this as a knock your socks off fragrance. But it is very pretty and an easy wear if you prefer a sweet fragrance.

ajfragrances

I love this smell so much. The opening is a beautiful citrusy lavender, but after around 30 minutes the gentle middle notes begin to come through and eventually the dry down/base notes smell turn this into a sweet vanilla creamy floral scent. The only thing I absolutely hate is the longevity. I can’t say how sad I am that the longevity is so crap… I reapply this so frigging much throughout the day just to be able to remotely catch whiffs of it. Thankfully I bought this for around $75 which is a complete steal where I’m from. Though I guess you can’t expect much because it is an EDT. Also, I think I prefer the smell of this to the EDP because it smells more fresh. Love the smell, hate the longevity. Mixed feelings I guess.

DT953

This is my favorite of the line, easily. I find it more intense than Intense, with more layers and nuance than the EdP (neither of those are bad, but I still have a preference.

While this is more an orange blossom fragrance, the other notes listed basically are right on the money. The benzoin and caramel make it pretty sweet; but not immediately noticeable unless you take in a big whiff. It's also then when you smell heaven. Vanilla and jasmine are next. Comforting,!

I don't really detect much lavender, if at all. It's like SJP Lovely in that it's apparently a lavender scent but I dont smell it. Doesn't change my mind about the scent being great.

Try if you like: Ellie Saab Le Parfum, SJP Lovely, Coco Mademoiselle (not saying these are dupes bc they're not, they're just a starting point that may new help

SomeFlower

Darn it..... another blind buy fail for me. I really thought I’d like it based on the notes and recommendations from favorite fragrance YouTubers. It’s not terrible.... I could wear it... I just don’t love it. Ok, to be honest, I barely like it. Tolerate is more accurate. I gave it a good chance, but on me it smells like a man’s shaving cream. I want something that’s love at first sniff, and this definitely isn’t it. I’m not sure what I’ll do with it. The bottle is pretty, but it’s an expensive decoration. 😕

bbgrlgll

Have had this in my drawer for 2 years and barely touched it. When it arrived I remember thinking it didn't smell anywhere near as intoxicating as the edp, and the spare times I pulled it out for a whiff I was disappointed. Well, for whatever reason I pulled it out again tonight and am very interested in it. Funny how that works, and a good reminder to hold on to things for a bit! I get more jasmine than lavender (yay - jasmine is my #1), and the vanilla is there, but its still fresh almost like a bright rose scent. This may become a bedtime spray for me, as it smells like a lighter version of the Twilight scent at lush, but less sickly (works so well with the clean cotton / linen sheet smell!)

rosehips

I love it! Sillage and longevity are fantastic. Despite our initial misunderstandings (accidentally bought EDT instead of EDP), I am endeared to this strange little fragrance. Sad it’s going away. Bought a second bottle to treasure and ration.

Brooke1988

This is such a lovely, calming, breath of fresh air! The top opens with a bright splash of citrus and lavender (two notes which remain throughout). It becomes slightly floral (fresh floral, not heady floral) and dries down to a soft yet still bright, citrusy lavender with a touch of vanilla. The caramel note in the drydown is not heavy or overly sweet, it just lends a bit of smoothness to the overall composition. I really enjoy this one in the daytime or as a bedtime scent! I think it is different enough from the original EDP to warrant owning both. The vanilla note in the EDP is sweet and fluffy and the lavender is much softer than in the EDT. Less of that bright citrus in the EDP, as well.

LSAUG

This is very pretty lavender, citrus perfume. It reminds me of YSL Libre Toilette, but this is quite a bit sweeter because of the caramel. I prefer the Libre Toilette because of the freshness of the tea note but I would be happy w/ this if I didn't already own the Libre Toilette. If I found this for a real steal, I would pick it up. It is very pretty, lots of jasmine coming through to my nose, w/ sweet citruses, lavender, vanilla and caramel. This would be an easy blind buy gift for a young 20 something girl. My nieces would love this. Pretty, soft, it has a dainty quality. I picture young women in sundresses and sunglasses going to parties. Let's hope we see more of that in 2022.

Calinare

Very feminine orange lavender scent. I purchased a sample of this along with YSL Libre and unfortunately, I end up enjoying Libre more. But this is a gorgeous scent reminiscent of autumn floral meadows. This has a strong oriental background and can be used for both day and early evening wear. <3 8/10

cumulnimbus

If you enjoy the citrusy top as I do, you'll get to a fresh crispy lavender which will slowly transition to a gorgeous warm bed of sightly powdery vanilla. Love it for spring mornings.

HarriGlass

I really love this, I initially thought I wouldn't like it as much because of how it smelled in the bottle cause it was a blind buy but now it's an absolute favorite! I have the edp and intense version but this is just so lovely. I bought the intense version just because it lasts longer, but the edt is just fresher. I had my friend try a spray but it smells different on her skin so I understand why other people would think of lemony bug spray - she has oily skin while I have drier skin, maybe skin ph? This is light and airy compared to the edp and intense version - less sweet, I could sniff it all day long. The dry down has a little caramel to it on me, I just really really love this.

UnearthlyApothecary

Beautiful! More citric then the EDP, fresher, and probably more suited for summer wear. Almost unisex and recalls Jicky and the more citrusy Shalimar’s. I find this different enough to warrant owning both. It doesn’t have quite the power of the EDP either, but it’s not a skin scent. I have a 100 ml bottle that I will probably never use half of so I plan on over spraying like crazy next summer :p

ivanda

Better prefer EDP.
EDT is more syntethic lavander with chemical feeling, maybe because of orange. After it dries down, gets more pleasant, when caramel note comes out. Ylang and jasmine gives it fresh booze.
Cant decide yet if i like it or not really. More like pass i guess.

LauraB425

I prefer the EDT because its not as sweet. The EDT is sparkling where the EDP is creamy, if that makes sense. Its more airy and less cloying than the EDP (which is just a bit too sweet for me). Of course its being discontinued - several of my loves have been discontinued this year. So frustrating. I will definitely be getting a back up.

amaliesh3

This is my least favorite of all the Mon Guerlains. I agere it smells like lemon cough sirup. I have tried it for a while now, but I don’t think I like it at all.

cicrule

Love this scent! It is Beautiful and coyingly sexy in my opinion. It is sweet, slightly powdery, and floral. It definitely doesnt act like an EDT. Its a love for me!

kcoughlin

Smells like a lemon cough drop: citrus, sugary, and kind of herbal/menthol-y note. I like lemon cough drops but I don't want to smell like one

Roses and Thyme

I’ve had this for a very long time but never really paid attention. I sprayed it on this morning before work at 5 a.m. and it is now 7:30 p.m. It’s a skinscent as of now but, oh my goodness, this is wonderful right now. Not too sweet and just lovely.

la.femme.scent

Mon Guerlain EDT was my first Guerlain fragrance ever. I found a 1 oz bottle for $24.99 at Marshall's last fall and something about it was calling me to pick it up and so I did.

From the first spray the scent triggered a memory of when I was younger and my cousin had her first baby and I would be with her and help her with her newborn baby during bath time. I think she used a product, maybe a baby wash or lotion that had a similar scent note, and it's probably the lavender. But I could smell the memory of the whole experience, even the newborn smell and even the scent of a mother lactating, I believe. It was bizarre and I had never experienced anything like that with a fragrance, at least not that intense, and since then Guerlain became my favorite house.

Anyway, as for the EDT I wore it as a bedtime scent. It opened really spicy and aromatic. At first I used to smell the freshness of the lavender, but then it started to smell like pink peppers and even a little like bug spray at one point. The middle was a creamy jasmine and the base was my favorite. I mostly got a sweet vanilla and caramel but powdery and a little anamalic orris root. It was a little buttery and lactonic but also powdery and violet flowers fresh. Loved it!

I’ve tried to like it, so many seem to, but no. I don’t get anything but motor oil, or bug spray from this. Weird…

The edp on the other hand, is so utterly gorgeous, one of my all time favorites.

Poisonmy1love

Today I grabbed this when I didnt have time to fix myself in the morning before delervering at first day at school. It worked ok. I like the mandarin orange in the top note. Wish it was stronger. After ten minutes the masculine blast calmed down and I just smelled clean i think. One hour later it now is a little bit soapy and ok. But I dont love it because it dont wow me. But it did help set my mind this morning in a way. Sparkling Bouqet is louder than this. Waiting for MG edp arriving soon in the Mail soon! So excited! Wiiii!!! Excided!

unicajiha_01

Sorry but this is the best perfume I ever have. I tried the edp it's good but it's too smooth unlike the edt it has a citrus vibe on it. The dry down is heavenly addictive. Idk but I've bought how many perfumes now? I still can't get enough of this one! I always compare this to my newly bought perfumes but nothin beats the mg edt. Idk how to explain how it smells but whenever I use this one I feel relaxed / soft and it's like I am over the clouds. It lasts 4-5hrs max. The sillage is really good not too much not too weak. My husband loves this scent, he always kisses me whenever the drydown starts. I can feel in comparison to other branded perfumes that I have the ingredients or the notes that was used to this gem are extremely luxurious I mean it has the quality that I'm lookin for. 😉

Sarahpuddister85

This opens smelling like a lemony toilet bowl cleaner AND insect repellent. The dry down is quite nice, but very similar to many other perfumes with vanilla, tonka bean and benzoin in the base - certainly not good enough to put up with smelling like a public toilet for the first 45 minutes after the initial spray. Sorry, but I don’t get how anyone could like this one.

danamomani5403

The dry down on this is nice, but I’m not a fan of the opening… too lavender/citrusy for me, I have to say though, the lasting power on this is amazing for an edt…

I’m looking to sell/trade my bottle… if you’re in the uae and interested please message me..

sparklyunicorn

This on me is incredible... not sure why it gets a bad rap. It lasts long, has great sillage and is a very sexy, seductive, intoxicating scent. Can almost smell unisex, but in my opinion the sweet powderiness in the dry down is more feminine. Maybe it is because I tend to overspray, but I have no complaints about the performance on this one.

TabledThoughts

I should have done my homework after trying the edp yet buying (online) the edt. The edt has a slightly different note composition that, while ramping up the sweetness, lacks the depth from the sandalwood and the cozy definitive lavender in the perfume.
The edt doesn't last worth a damn.
I'll just get the edp.

stardenise16

This is was a blind buy and I brought because of the popularity and the curiosity to smell a Mon Guerlain. I got it at Macy’s Backstage for around $50 for the 3.4oz that came with a travel spray. I was in love when I first smelled this (and I still am) with the EDT. You really can smell the lavender and the citrus, it’s so classy and I want to try to save it for special occasions only. I’m kinda interested in smelling the EDP and maybe the other flankers but I’m in no rush because the EDT is one of the best perfume purchases in my life.

harperpeshhe

Allow me to paint you a picture. It’s a cold winters day, you are little again are wrapped up in a soft fluffy blanket with your mum on the couch. She is wearing her favourite jeans and a soft cashmere sweater. You laugh at what is on the TV and she cuddles you just a little tighter as you snuggle into her. This is what this fragrance smells like to me. It’s soft, warm and comforting and today is the day I felt it. I bought this fragrance in Spring last year and tried it occasionally over the last 8 months, but it was always just a little too much with the lavender and citrus playing a large part. I’ve lost count of the times I almost gave it away, but something was telling me not to. Today I understand why. For me, this absolute beauty is for the cooler seasons and when the vanilla and lavender really shines.

mauvealert

Nice gourmand-but-not-too-sweet for fall and winter. In the heat it is too cloying and the sort of harrogate toffee accord so strong that it drowns out the floral notes, but on a crisp day I can actually smell the lavender/vanilla combo and the fairly delicate white flowers. When I first smelled it I thought this is what I imagine Snow White (from the old animated film) would smell like--romantic but in an innocent sort of way.

jinglebells

I love the original mon guerlain and wanted to try this because it sounds like a all weather version of mon guerlain. I got a sample and absolutely love the smell, to me it opens up a little citrusy but quickly dries down to a slightly lighter version of mon guerlain. It’s everything I hoped it would be but it barely lasts 2 hours on my skin. It’s such a shame, but just not full bottle worthy to me.

Itssarabelle

I get straight up citrus and lavender with a hint of vanilla in the dry down. I do enjoy this, however, I will be purchasing the edp in the fall(I think I prefer it). But this is much more suitable for warmer weather. This one is more unisex than the edp in my opinion and really reminds me of something my dad used to wear(in the BEST way possible)

Aikipy

Classy, sophisticated, very much a French perfume. I imagine a nice, friendly, calm woman wearing this on the hidden romantic streets of Paris, walking in her midi A-line dress, wearing some elegant flats and holding a baguette in her hand and some green veggies for a healthy meal. She’s elegant, but casual, she’s got long wavy hair and a very French demeanor. She’s friendly, but somehow reserved, not at all obnoxious.

Mon Guerlain EDT is a safe, everyday scent. It’s not extremely unique, but it’s very comforting and alluring. It starts with a blast of fresh citruses and comforting lavender, but then the florals and sweetness starts to pop up and it makes it very wearable while comforting at the same time. I like it way better than the original! Smells of something familiar, something from the past, maybe 15-20 years ago, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what that is! I would say it’s a relatively safe blind buy.

ceeceelee

This, to me, smells more like Mon Exclusif in the dry down (bc of the caramel) than Mon Sensuelle. Both are really pretty. I think something needs to be stated, though. They are both listed as sweet, and they are, for the average perfume wearer, not a gourmand lover. Even Mon Exclusif, which has disappered from even the grey market and is commanding ridiculously high prices which are very unwarranted, isn't really that sweet until dry down. So if you are looking for a gourmand lavender, none of the Mon's are going to be your thing. I say this bc I, too, have recently become a lover of tooth achingly sweet perfumes and my beloved Mon Exclusif isn't even close. Now this EdT is sweet for the average wearer, interesting too. I like it better than Mon EdP.

Agnesca

This is a chic little French fragrance! As French as you can get, in my opinion. I understand why it is not considered to be unique, because I, who literally haven't been in a perfume shop for years and buy everything online, immediately thought after first sniffing that I know this scent. I I don't mean I know it because of today's trends but it'sas if I know it for a long-long time ago. I'm not familiar with Jicky, but I was a huge fan of Givenchy fragrances back in the early 2000's and I think this fragrance brings back beautiful memories from that era. I will have to sample the original Mon Guerlain, too,now as for the EDT: it is a little bit acrid/tart and I love it for it, it saves the composition from turning too sweet or suffocating in warm weather or too dry with its powdery nuances. Lavender is only present in the beginning on my skin as the citrusy accords become predominant, as for the white florals in the heart I mostly smell ylang-ylang, very toned down jasmine and neroli is practically not detectable (which I don't mind so much). The base is caramel and vainnla/tonka - to fit into today's trends. Too sum it up: I think it is a pretty citrusy fruity-floral with sweet vanilla and caramel base, done with great taste and the result is a charming, pretty fragrance that is elegant in a more youthful way than Coco Mademoiselle that it is often compared to (with a good reason!) .But even if it's considered unoriginal, it has a feeling of class in my opinion. ANd just a sidenote: where I live most men would be happy if their wives would smell like this but this is not the case here:)

Missblue

The true rendition of Jicky!

They said Mon Guerlain is inspired by Jicky, but until the EDT I just didn’t get it. The citrus (mostly dirty bergamot) & lavender burst in the top notes is the same, but instead of going into the dandy territory, MG EDT takes the ladylike route of florals and sweets. Mandarine takes over followed by orange blossom ( which is heavy on my skin and it lends a salty aquatic vibe ) in the middle phase. Actually, the heart of MG EDT reminds me strongly of Opium Vapeurs de parfum, but the Mon Guerlain vanilla (different from the Shalimar vanilla present in Jicky) always lurks in the background, only to intensify and dominate the drydown.

I am surprised by this EDT, I find it more complex and challenging than the EDP. The Jickyness is definitely here, while the original is modern, sweet and bears no resemblance with the masterpiece which inspired it. A shame it was discontinued, really...

Jadetive

Fizzy lavender, I would have expected some ginger in the top note. Smells musky, powdery clean. An okay fragrance that is not for me.

FrkFors

I don't get any noticeable caramel, ylang, benzoin or violet. It's still quite nice! I get misty citrus, lavender, vanilla and orange blossom. This lasts quite a while on my skin for an EdT, I've never experienced such before. I will use this during summer, for sure. I do prefer the Original EdP though.

krysoberyl

I would like to trade my bottle, at least 95% full, for Insolence. Partial ok. Open to other things too!

NellieD

I almost loved Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum, but it was too heavy for my tastes, so when I saw that the eau de toilette was on clearance, I risked a blind buy hoping it would be just right. I am VERY happy! It's much lighter. It's still sweet, but it's more of a powdery sweetness instead of an oppressing sweetness. It reminds me of YSL Libre, but classier and more sophisticated. It's gentle light falling on toe shoes as a young woman ties the ribbons for ballet class. It's a perfect pretty spring scent.

I am noticing that a lot of the negative reviews are coming from people who love the EdP. That's not at all surprising; I find that when I am accustomed to a stronger concentration of a perfume, it's much harder to appreciate a lighter version of it! It's like all you can smell is what's missing. Having never grown accustomed to the EdP, however, I adore the EdT for what it has to offer 🙂

supergirl9412

Let me start off by saying that I love the original. But this ... oy ... Granted, I knowingly took a gamble with this one, as I knew it featured some notes I'm generally iffy on (violet, ylang-ylang, benzoin) and some notes that I avoid altogether (orris). But hey! It's a MG flanker! How badly could I dislike it?

Very powdery and sharp. Those white florals and citrus notes really stand out. It's been a while since I tested it, but I remember the orris being pretty apparent, too. Only a small bit of the original MG's DNA.

If you didn't like the original and found it too much (heavy, sweet, etc.), you may really enjoy this one.

JustSimpleThings

This to me smells like lavender hard candy (if there was such a thing). It's fluffy, dry and sweet. No warmth, no depth, no noticeable vanilla (on me). Just sugar, citrus and lavender.

Interestingly, in what must be a remarkable case of olfactory illusion, it also smells like used cooking oil on me when I get wafts of it off myself throughout the day. Like oil that had been used to fry doughnuts, slightly sweet and heady.

I will use it up but it's definitely not my favourite.

mdluli

My first Guerlain perfume and the word is WOW I love it perfect

astrakan

I got this for very cheap since it was discontinued recently

I adore the original Mon guerlain and since I'm almost out of that one I thought the edt would be a good replacement. Wow, I thought wrong. This to me lacks everything I love about the original. The tonka is gone, no iris, no warmth. I miss the sweet tonka cloud of the original. The only similarity to the OG is on the surface.

I don't dislike it, but it just lacks something! And I don't love what is added to it either. I have a hard time with notes of caramel and tangerine, which happens to be quite distinct in this version. Maybe I notice it more since I don't like it much, but it kind of ruins it for me. I feel like if those two notes was taken out I would probably enjoy it more since it would be a citrusy, light version on the original.

Murmur123123

I got MG EDT on a good deal because it has been discontinued. I smell mostly the citrus and lavender, not a lot of vanilla or powdery notes. It is fresh enough for hotter days and not too heavy or "rich" like some other florals could be. This is to me a grown-up version of "summer freshie scents".

I also have MG Intense which is a lot more vanilla and much smoother and "rounder", while MG EDT has the fresh and slightly sharp vibe to it, which I dont mind. Despite how the commercials or youtube reviews comment on the MG line, I dont find the MG EDT extremely feminine.

RosaMilena

Don't even like the opening on this one. Not fresh or clean. Not sweet or delicious either. Not gourmand. Not an impressive floral. Ylang is cloying. It is a very uninteresting fluffy dry bittersweet oriental floral. Base is not thin. Core is cloying and saccharine like. Top is not fresh. I can smell all the notes listed but none of it is impressive. I get nothing great on my skin to my nose with this one. Meh.

thatsperf

Mon Guerlain EDT is what happens when Coco Mademoiselle and JPG Classique decide to have a baby. Fleshy pink juice reminiscent of the two fragrances. Fizzy sparkly top note, a slight powderiness too. I can't smell lavender at all. The heart of the fragrance reminds me of Coco Mad if the patchouli is replaced with orange blossom. On the drydown it reminds me of 'Classique' but lighter. Longevity is great. 1-2 sprays lasts for 7-8 hours and projection is medium. Overall I like this perfume and it's a 'dumb reach' as well. Unlikely to offend, all-appealing fragrance. I'm not sure whether the EDT will be discontinued it can be bought at a great price online.

tasoula

If you like burberry brit rhythum go for it. Almost identical. Unisex too.

magnifiscently22

Just picked this up and really love it so far! I haven't smelled the other MG's, but now I am interested. This starts off pretty herbal to me. The lavender with the citrus notes almost reminds me of essential oils and comes off a little masculine smelling, but in a good way. As it settles, the jasmine and vanilla come out more and it sweetens up. In the dry down, the vanilla and caramel linger on my skin the longest and it's just beautiful! It almost reminds me of Dior Poison Girl EDT after they've both been on for a few hours. These aren't able to be substitutes for each other by any means, but if you like the dry down of Poison Girl EDT, I think you would like this too. As for longevity, this EDT lasts great. Even after I stopped smelling it on myself, I got a compliment on it! I can't wait to wear this in warmer weather and out and about. This feels like a safe office scent as it lasts a while but isn't overdone with projection. Being in my early 20s, it feels a bit mature, but definitely still wearable. I feel sophisticated, put together, and pretty in this.

Rinio

So I bought this in the summer and didn't really like it as all I would smell was something powdery grandma-ish but I started wearing it again over the past few freezing weeks and oh my gosh what a delicious yummy lavender vanilla rose mix, I want to eat it...what happened? something to do with the cold temperature bringing out the notes that were evaporating in the summer? Love its deliciousness and yes it is a nice perfume.

valqrye

I adore the bright opening of this fragrance so much that I wish it stayed linear till the end but of course it doesn't. Towards the drydown it became more powdery with the ylang-ylang and vanilla notes being more prominent. Am I the only one that smell the resemblance between this and Alien eau Extraordinaire? Especially in the drydown, both have that similar ylang-ylang and vanilla notes combination. I do prefer this fragrance tho because it doesn't have menthol/herbal medicine scent that Alien flanker has.

I'm not a big fan of vanilla in general especially drier or powdery vanilla so I already knew that I won't be in love with the scent but I'm still curious about the EDP version.

Should I still blind buy the EDP? Going to store to try before trying is not an option for now. So far, some of vanilla fragrances that I do actually enjoyed are Si EDP, Olympea EDP, Sofia by Sofia Vergara and La Nuit Tresor.

BeautifulPrincess

This is lighter and fresher than the Mon Guerlain EDP. It opens with a citrus-lavender and develops into an almost Miss Dior type of scent. The citrus remains from beginning to end, it’s bright and uplifting. The lavender does eventually tone down. It smells quite nice on others, however it doesn’t match me personally 🙂

krysoberyl

I am not getting a light and fresh from this. I would never guess that it was an edt because it performs like a edp. It's opulent and interesting yet totally appropriate for almost any context. It's sweet but also surprising.

I love the jammy, fir-like lavander. I don't get a lot of citrus, although I do get orange peel. Nor do I get the white flowers. I get just the tiniest whiff of sweet cigarettes smoke on a cold day. All that over benzoin and caramel and orris! It's really good. It hides in plain sight: a normal, inoffensive perfume that suddenly becomes quite interesting when you pay attention to it.

There's definitely an element of Jicky in here. Jicky + Oriental Brulant. I wonder how people would have reacted if the Jickiness had been turned up a tad and it had been released as a Jicky homage.

I wish this had a more interesting name and story. Not that I care about marketing, I just like to have more insight into the ideas behind the scent. This is an intelligent, conceptual fragrance, but it's presented in a totally blank way. The bottle is great, though.

zelelipe

So beautiful and well blended! One of those that I blind bought because it was a good price and I wanted to try during lockdown. I am so happy I did and plan to get a large bottle of the EDP next because I'm sure I will use this up very quickly.

To me it smells like the best of Chanel Chance and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle put together with a bit of Chanel Coco or YSL Opium in there. Personally Chance doesn't sit right on my skin and I used to wear Coco Mad' but grew tired of it so I am happy this reminds me of those. I actually like this a lot more and it's more affordable! Beautiful blend of lavender, jasmine, lilac and vanilla for me with no notes standing out and everything blended seamlessly together.

Very feminine and pretty scent that could be for day or night and could most definitely be a signature scent. I wouldn't wear it to a club but clubs are closed here so it's the perfect fragrance for right now while I'm only chilling at home or going to buy groceries. Crowd pleasing and comforting with a grown up elegance that comes across as very refined and put together. I can't wear this with a tracksuit, it needs more feminine silhouettes. Matches wool jumpers and silk shirts very well!

Siv7Stars

Unsuccessful blind buy. Don't presume that if you like all the other Mon Guerlains that you will like this. I don't know what bug spray smells like, but if it's just chemical n plasticky, then this is it. If it gets better as it dies down I'll let you know..

suki0101

This smells soo good to me. Getting wafts from this perfume leaves me wanting more. In the first second I get the resemblance to bug/cleansing spray because of the sharp lavender and citrus. But after a few minutes it warms up and I get sweet mandarin, warm tonka (that's what the vanilla smells to me), orange blossom rounding it up and lavender keeping it airy. It's definitely not a striking perfume but too pleasant to my nose to be boring for me. Subdued, feminine and cozy.

estherkiim

Got this fragrance because I loved Mon Guerlain EDP but I couldn't see myself wearing it as it's just a touch too heavy for me. Too powdery. Too tonka.
So I went ahead and blind bought this one.
At first sniff, I was confused. Where were the notes that made MG, MG? But after spraying and allowing it to dry down, I started to get that 'MG but lighter' vibe.
It's definitely citrus forward to start and has just enough lavender and tonka.
I did expect it to be a TAD more deep but I'm actually okay with the lightness of this one as it makes it easier to wear at any time of year whereas with MG EDP, I wasn't sure when I'd wear it besides cold winter days/nights.
If you, like me, love MG but can't stand the strength of it, this is a great option!
Love that the bottles are nearly identical as well, as I love the look of the OG!

KrystalPower83

I just found a 100mil bottle of this at TJ Maxx for $12.99. I knew I liked the scent profile because I love lavender and I've tried the edp and it was ok, but it was much too strong and long lasting for my taste....it even choked my husband...with one spritz on the wrist it lasted even after a hot shower...that's just too strong!
I tried this and felt it's much lighter and easier to wear. I love Chanel Chance and to me these are very similar with the bright lavender smell....and $12.99? It's a deal!!
Lavender is a smell that people either love or hate....if you don't like it then it'll smell like medicinal or bug spray. I personally HATE Shalimar because of the strong medicinal smell....to me it smells just like an old green pain relief liquid called Asorbine Jr. that my great grandma used to use.

perfumesniffer

unfortunately the EDT format of Mon Guerlain literally smells like bug spray. must be the sharp lavender. I’m sorry if this hurts feelings of those who love this but it’s so specifically bug spray on me and also when I’ve smelled it on others. the EDP much less so and the Intense version is probably the better scent because I get the least bug spray with that one (EDP & Intense start a little bug spray but dry down into a nice “fresh vanilla.”)

AlexandraTroush

I'm testing this out for the first time today. Upon first spray I was immediately reminded of Angel Muse EDT by Mugler. They share mandarin orange at the top and caramel at the bottom, and this EDT Mon has the same sweet juicy opening. Now, as it's setting into its middle notes, it reminds me of Terre de Lumiere by L'Occitane (which the original Mon EDP doesn't).

Honestly, I wasn't expecting either of those other scents to come to mind. I was expecting a predominantly citrus opening, a burst of sunlight that will tingle my senses and make me go "mmm" in delight, a strong lavender, and an overall Mon feeling. Instead I'm reminded of two other fragrances I have, none of which I intend to repurchase. I went out of my way (and over my budget) to get this one because I can't get enough of the original Mon EDP and Mon Exclusif and I was panicking that this one is getting discontinued and that I will soon not be able to find it anymore. Turns out I could definitely do without it. I guess we never stop learning.

I don't hate it, and I wouldn't be upset if I got it as a gift. But I'm not entirely excited to use it. Maybe my feelings will change when it's warmer. I will update if they do.

Edit: thank GOD I can't feel that licorice thing everybody's talking about, because I absolutely hate licorice.

Update: my second wear of this seems more promising. Less Angel Muse EDT, more Terre de Lumiere, and a surprising saltiness that reminds me of Mon Exclusif (which I own)! This could be a toned down Mon Exclusif. It's growing on me!

Update2: wow, this is beautiful and I might just get a back-up bottle while I can still find it for a decent price! This is like the EDT version of Mon Exclusif. Either the caramel is slightly salted or the combination of notes gives this salty impression, but it's absolutely beautiful and captivating. I've already gotten plenty of compliments on it and quite a few of my friends have demanded to know what it is so they can get a bottle too. Scratch that Muse EDT and Terre de Lumiere reference from the beginning, it was only relevant while the bottle was still "settling" after the first spray. Now it's all salted caramel and delicate florals, a gentler Mon Exclusif. LOVE IT!

little_red_corvette

I'm very disappointed with this one. I really like the edp, but don't own it, because it's quite expensive. Then I saw the edt online for a great price and I remembered smelling this last year's summer. After reading reviews that said it has the same DNA as the edp, I went for it. Once I sprayed it, it kind of smelled like lavender with vanilla, licorice and lemon. Then it instantly dried down to a weird aromatic scent. I could not smell any lavender anymore, nor vanilla. It smelled like licorice with some lemon. Luckily the online seller let me return it even though I opened it. I would not recommend the edt to anyone who wants a sweet vanilla lavender. In that case just go for the edp.

marios2014

Totally my best scents ever!! This is more citrusy than the original but has the same dna for sure! Lavender and vanilla are the most prominent notes and so calming ! This is suits best for spring or fall .I m waiting to finish it and buy a new flaker for sure!!

JoannaGR

Just blind bought it and I'm so glad! It's very classy and sophisticated without being "old lady" like. I mostly smell powdery notes and sweet lavender. Longevity and sillage are good and I think it can be worn by any age.

unicajiha_01

My review in 2019:
I prefer the edp than the edt. Edt is generic but the drydown is fantastic. Edp is excellent overall from the first spray to drydown but the sillage is poor. Edt is refreshin but I really don't like the formulation.

Update: October 2020
Disappointed that the production of this perfume was discontinued. After a year of using it I realized how refreshing and magnificent this scent is. The smell feels elegant whenever I use it, it's best at night times during date night or sexy time with hubby. There's something really gorgeous with this perfume that I really like, you can smell yourself with this perfume beautifully.

Rinio

This is Olympea from Paco Rabbane's sister without the salty notes. I found it on the clearance shelf at Boots for 10 pounds a couple of months ago. Not too impressed but maybe it will grow on me.

jenniferg0924

This is a light lavender and Coco Mademoiselle! Very light, airy and refreshing. Perfect for the heat especially.

This is a beautiful ‘journeyed’ fragrance: mandarin, orange blossom and lavender are very prominate in the opening. The heart you get the floral aspect of it along with the citrus’s and the dry down you get those yummy vanilla accords with the caramel.

I wore this to bed and when I woke up I could still smell it; for an EDT it has great longevity.

I picture this as like you are in Europe and you are walking around a market on a hot day and there are fresh oranges, lemons and different flowers all around, while you have a cold caramel mocciato in your hand!

This is absolutely a gem!

violetstorm

beautiful light & airy version of the original :) if u love lavender but the original is too heavy for u then u have to try the toilette version.......

its very easy to wear........light enough for a hot day - today it was 98 degrees & this scent was just lovely & relaxing

and the longer it lingers on u the more it brings out the lavender......not in a strong way but in an ahhhhhhhhh this lavender smells amaaaaazing :)

Mon Guerlain EDT is my second favorite from the line (after Intense).
This is a refreshing, well done formula of Mon Guerlain. I just loved the creativity in it.
Opening Is fresh and cheerful from the citruses, mandarine makes it special and gives a special twist. Jasmin spices the fragrance perfectly. Later lavender and caramel starts appearing, getting stronger, but still softer than in the mother scent. Later it settles to a creamy vanilla with a touch of lavender.

Even though marked as EDT, it’s longevity rivals and beats many EDPs, specifically the Florale EDP big time (10 hrs as an average!).

I’m very disappointed that it has been discontinued, it is a perfect summer version of the original. It is also better for the ones liked the original but found the lavender or sweetness too strong.

SailorV

This is like triple effect aromatherapy: Soothing lavender, uplifting, sunny mandarin orange and warming vanilla and caramel. I get gourmand notes, citrus and lavender equally. This is an EDT version done right, it has the DNA of Mon Guerlain and Mon Exclusif, but it's lighter, juicier and more appropriate for warm weather, just like it should. It's almost a love for me.

I'm a devoted fan of sweetened lavender fragrances and was quite happy to discover one that isn't as heavy as my favorites, which are Mon Exclusif, Lancôme Lavandes Trianon and Lush Twilight Body Spray. But for some reason I couldn't make up my mind about Mon Guerlain EDT. It's gorgeous and I first thought I would need a bottle, but then I realized I actually really like my vanilla-lavender fragrances to be full and rich and don't need a light version of this concept. I gave my sample of this a full wearing today and later compared it with Mon Exclusif, side by side. And while I like Mon Guerlain EDT a lot, I LOVE Mon Exclusif with its heavier, more powdery sweetness.

It's still a crying shame they discontinued this. It's far superior to Mon Guerlain Florale, which turned weirdly metallic on me, and makes more sense in the lineup than the Bloom of Rose editions. I also prefer it over the EDP, the fresh orange notes make it more lively and chic. If the original Mon Guerlain was too densely sweet for you, definitely try this sparkling little sweetheart before it's gone.

AnaisLouLou

I love this perfume. I smell lavender, vanilla (clean), musk and amber. There are also, floral notes, but I can't distinguish between them.

If I was going on a trip to Europe, this is the one perfume I would pack. It's a modern French perfume. You could wear this backpacking, in a 5-star hotel, on the beach, in the heat and in the cold. Day, evening. It has a medium, non offensive projection. Everything polite, refined and beautiful.

I feel a bit sad when I wear this perfume. Maybe, it's because I wish I could travel now!

Sherine777

I broke my own record in pressing the LOVE button here :D It can take me up to a year sometimes..

And it beats me why this was taken away so quickly! It's absolutely gorgeous!

I love Mon Guerlain EDP and I didn't really feel like venturing in any of the flankers, out of content with it let's say. But I saw this being discounted and discontinued, so went ahead.

I find this very different from the EDP, I get a Beautiful Jasmine, Citrus and Lavender at the start, then gradually it moves to the Balsamic Vanilla, Benzoin Caramel and Orris (not as heavy as the EDP as there's no Tonka). The dry down is Shalimar-esque.

From beginning to end this is not the same as the EDP at all for me. The similarity I see is in how the perfume develops, just like the EDP it glides from Light to Dark (just not as dark) - I actually think Angelina is the perfect face for this line because of this mixture of light and darkness.

Definitely more suitable for warmer weather than EDP, but it would work great for any season. It has it's weight and performs well.
LOVE it, Really Gorgeous!

BlackOrchidSorceress

A more pleasant Coco Mademoiselle mixed with Mon Guerlain. I love it.

Like many others, I picked up a bottle of this for very little. Reportedly the EDT has been d/c although it's still listed on Guerlain's international website.

I wish I could smell all the wonderful things in this that other people can. But no. Mon Guerlain EDT smells like every floral/gourmand fragrance release of the last 5 years all swilled together and left for a few more years to go stale. The result is, well, really quite vile.

Before you get too mad with me it's worth noting that I don't smell lavender in MG (EDT or EDP) at all, and that's probably a clue that my brain is scrambling the notes in some weird way because nearly everyone notes the presence of lavender.

I'd love to love MG EDT because classic, 'wear-anywhere-any-time' elegance is to be cherished.

TexasOrangeBlossom

Just wanted to post an update. It’s summer here (100 degree afternoons). I sprayed MG EDT yesterday at around 7:00 pm and I can still smell it on my skin at 4:00pm the following day. Others can still smell it as well. I don’t get that kind of longevity in cooler weather. It’s lovely year round, but so much better on me in high heat. 😍

Mon Guerlain strikes me as feminine and business-like. Like that woman who passes down the aisle on the morning commuter train and leaves you wondering what she’s wearing. It’s giving me silk-lined power suits and stiletto pumps. (I think I must’ve worked with various people who wore it to the office.) It leans heavily in the floral direction, with a punch of the citrus in the top notes. The lavender gives it a deep, herbaceous tone. Jasmine and ylang-ylang add a touch of timeless, classic femininity. The dry down is especially nice with just the slightest bit of bite from the benzoin. I’m not a fan of gourmand fragrances, so I appreciate it that the caramel and vanilla are balanced out by orris and violet in the base notes. Sillage is strong! Just a spritz or two will suffice. Definitely a sophisticated scent for the woman who wants to be taken seriously.

Bought 2 100ml bottles at TK Maxx for £34.99 each and could not believe my eyes. I read afterwards that Guerlain decided to discontinue the eau de toilette... why?
It smells absolutely lovely, even on a guy, particularly in hot summer weather: sparkling and zesty to then evolves in a subtle creamy praliné/caramel guerlinade.
This eau de toilette reminds me a lot of another Guerlain: Shalimar Parfum Initial probably because of the iris, but also of Miss Dior (2017) eau de parfum except that MD does not have the praliné/caramel depth that MG has. I also find similarities with Mugler Muse EDP.
The projection is moderate but the staying power is remarkable for an EDT. 4/5 sprays in the morning will stay with you through the day.
Some have said that the longevity was weak: remember that with Guerlain, if you can’t smell your perfume it is because it’s the works well with your skin chemistry. Others will smell you and will compliment.
Shame this is discontinued, happy that I managed 2 100ml bottles for less than the price of one.

This fragrance opens with a sharp lemon accord that reminds me of furniture polish, as it transcends to the mid notes you get some floral with the lemon toned down...the dry down however is the star of the show, it is a sweet gourmand consisting of the caramel, the lavender and a beautiful vanilla...despite the strong opening, I still love this fragrance, it's more affordable than the EDP which is a LOVE for me...the EDT is not as sweet, has more citrus and floral and is more appropriate for tropical climates imo.

i had been obsessed with the edp after first sniff and was gonna save up for it, but then saw the edt on clearance!! when i first sprayed this on the back of my hand, the disappointment was real. i actually really disliked it. i waited for it to dry down and still did not like it. however i wanted to give it a chance so sprayed it all over me before going out, i fell in love with it and was getting whiffs of it all night, all of my friends said i smelled amazing!! now i always sniff it from the bottle because it is heavenly.

Balletflowers

This smells VERY similar to Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, very, even though the notes are different. I’m surprised it’s not mentioned before? Initial spritz you get a burst of warm citrus, mandarin. After a minute or so, you get the lavender & it dries down to a citrusy, violet, vanilla lavender. It’s different than the original which is my fav & I always prefer.

Initially, I want to commend the beauty and elegance of the bottle. It's the iconic "Quadrilobe" bottle of Guerlain designed in 1908. Basically, it's like a reshaped octagon (eight sides), eight in Chinese and other Asian cultures is considered a lucky number. Also, the cap resembles a cloverleaf to give luck to the wearer. Certainly fascinating!

Its juice contained abundant notes of Mandarin oranges, lavender, and Tahitian vanilla. It's so radiant, sensual, and modern! The lavender part seemed overdosed, like aromatherapy vibes HAHAHA well at least, the vanilla dry down is fluffy and yummy! (long-lasting too!)

Mon Guerlain EDT is instant love. However, that kind of love is labeled by our culture to be exclusive for femininity. So, I protest this: SCENTS ARE GENDERLESS! and I insist to smell like yummy vanilla! HAHAHA

kkaattjjeess

Blind bought this today on clearance, and there's no regrets at all. Never tried any other Mon Guerlains so I can only compare to what I heard about them.

The top notes scared me a bit, the lavender was looouuud, in your face and it smelled a bit manly or at least unisex, but the dry down is smooth, pleasant, and no notes dominate on my skin, it's just a perfect blend with perfect balance.

I'm actually glad I got this, commenters say this is a fresher, less sweet and more toned down version of the edp (that I was kinda eyeing but never smelled it or purchased it yet), and reading that I'm not sure if I would like the edp.

Guerlain makes stunning perfumes, nothing new there.

Edit: Lasts about 8 hours on my skin plus about 2 where's just a faint vanilla scent that sits very close to the skin.

Tessa03

I own the Intense version and love it. Ordered this one based on the glowing reviews. I had not smelled it before but I figured I would like it as I really enjoy the Intense. I was wrong. Don’t care for this at all. I don’t get any lavender in this. I don’t get any vanilla. I guess I mostly get the citrusy notes - bergamot? It’s very floral and “perfumey” ... Bummed.

Mdox407

Have had my eye on the Mon Guerlain page for a while and the EDP was just a tadddd bit too expensive for me to justify blind buying whereas I could find this Eau De Toilette version much cheaper on Ebay. And so I finally purchased it.

I do like this perfume. I honestly do. But I must say...the reviews are SO glowing and rave...that it did somewhat disappoint me.

It's basically a very "fluffy" vanilla paired with loads of lavender...and finally the Violet & Orris providing a powdery accord. This could've been one of my favorite perfumes in my collection but in my personal opinion the lavender is just SOOO intensely used here. As a matter of fact the lavender is so intense in this that it makes the lavender in Sarah Jessica Parker's "Lovely" seem barely-there. I feel that they should've used about half the amount of lavender that they did...and amped up the vanilla to ground it a bit more. It's still a very pretty scent. The lavender is just in such great quantity that it comes out smelling kind of like medicine or licorice. But it tones down pretty quickly.

Anyway, it's pretty. And very age versatile. It's not old lady like nor does it smell like a teenager so it'll fit the bill for a pretty wide variety of people.

I think this would be far too cloying in the heat so I personally will be wearing this in cool weather only. Mostly fall with some definite use in winter also.

Performance is great also. It's one of the better performing perfumes that I've bought all year actually.

Longevity - About 7 hours with only 4-5 sprays.

Projection - About 3 feet.

Overall Rating - 7.5/10. A solid like. I voted above with a like. Most likely won't be purchasing the EDP but don't regret buying my bottle of the EDT. I'll use it all up for sure. A smell-before-buying perfume in my book. Not recommended to blind buy.

fonty_o

I purchased this last week, and have worn it 3 times. I did a blind buy, because, well, Coronavirus. It has such good reviews! To me, this is nice, but nothing special to me. The moment I open the lid, and upon first spray, I get a massive hit of lavender. It gradually eases and some citrus pops up, but the scent doesn't last long on my skin, and after 1 hour barely anyone else can smell it unless they are hugging me. It smells clean, elegant and very flowery. But to me, nothing special. As I sit here now, 5 hours later, bending my head toward my cleavage where I sprayed, I can smell the faint hint of lavender and the tiniest amount of vanilla.
I am very interested in trying the EDP version. I imagine a woman who lives in a garden cottage wearing a sundress on a spring day wearing this. I definitely don't think of Miss Jolie.

jamyllevuyk

How a lady should smell like. This reminds me of Paris because I got for my birthday when I was there. So romantic and sweet. I love the cherry smell on it! I only wished it would last longer. But it's just marvelous. I will always have this one in my heart and collection!

Roses and Thyme

I loved the original and I love this one. The mandarin is not noticeable as a single note on me but works in context with the vanilla and lavender, lifting the scent and adding an extra “something.”. While you can definitely tell the edp and edt are in the same family, they are definitely different enough to my nose to justify owning both.

It works well in the more moderate temperatures of early spring and I am interested to see how it works in the heat of summer.

I am a classical Guerlain fan but I love the new stuff, too. It’s a shame that they discontinued this wonderful scent. The only downside is performance is not great. It’s good for an edt but I only get about 5 hours on skin. Still love it.

edited to add: I’ve had my bottle for three weeks before writing this.

the purple rose

Mon Guerlain edt is a lovely soft and sensual fragrance. I smell a beautiful blend of lavender, vanilla, citrus, caramel and licorice . Very well done, elegant and sophisticated. This was an instant love, immense shame that its discontinued. Rating 10/10.

—}—@ darlingbud

The vanilla, orange and patch aspects recall a fresher, less girly Miss Dior 2017 EDP. Except the newest Miss Dior, for its exuberant, voluptuous opening, doesn’t seem to last on my skin and is just a bit too much, then too little. Full of promise, Miss Dior disappears as quickly as she came. Mon Guerlain EDT, on the other hand, lasts and lasts and goes through pleasing phases, everything perfectly blended. The lavender is not heavy-handed or masculine. Still a love for me. Too bad that with the profusion of MG flankers being churned out, this gem has been discontinued.

ChelleBelle84

Yep! It's discontinued! I'm officially done with Guerlain. How can you be loyal to a company who isn't loyal to you because they're discontinuing EVERY SINGLE FRAGRANCE YOU EVER LOVED? Seriously, every single one I ever loved has been discontinued by this company. This is the 6th fragrance. When is enough....enough? I've draw the line here!

Bye Bye!

SophiaG

A beautiful lavender/vanilla that's not too sweet, and very sophisticated. I prefer this over the original parfume concentration - it is more aromatic, and the freshness of the lavender really comes through.
That being said, the original has an impressive longevity that this version lacks.

powederedoranges

This is cosy. There’s actually quite a strong similarity between this and Shalimar Soufflé. It’s got the vanilla and the undercurrent of citrus. Someone described Mon Guerlain (EDP) to me as a “a giant vanilla cookie floating over a field of lavender,” which sounds simply delightful. They were referring more to the EDP than the EDT but here I can certainly detect the vanilla cookie, and perhaps a touch of caramel. Mind you it’s definitely not a gourmand, and it’s not cloying or overly sweet and heavy either; more like a soft, warm, gently spicy floral. I don’t get a huge hit of lavender here, less than I’d like, but this is lovely and calming regardless. Sillage is fine, but I do wish the longevity was a bit better. I’ve recently also purchased the EDP and I’m excited to determine the differences. I see below that people believe this is discontinued; I couldn’t find anything official regarding that but I think it would be a shame

mermaidylady

I snatched up a big bottle when Macy's had them heavily discounted during the holiday season. It was a rare blind buy, since I'm drawn to the Mon Guerlain line but found the EDP too heavy for me. I wanted something I could wear every day, rather than a "special occasion" perfume. I took a chance, and I'm glad I did. I've had the EDT for several months now, and it's become a favorite. From winter to spring, so far it's gotten a lot of mileage. I feel like it's truly versatile, and can be worn in any season. In very cold weather you might not find it strong enough, but for mild winter days it's fine. It truly shines now, in the spring. Something about the warm (not yet hot), wet air brings this to life. It is pretty and uplifting, the dreamy vanilla dry down is my favorite part. So beautiful. Shame it's been discontinued.

andrewatic

Mon Guerlain EDT has now been discontinued, so get yourself a couple of bottles if you like this version.

Atomikbomb_

This is a sweet, soft, fresh BALANCED blend. It does also feel like a "farmer's market" kind of scent, which I absolutely adore. Very airy and outdoorsy, with familiar notes. It's not thick, syrupy or super similar to MG EDP, they're different fragrances, and although I could live in the EDP, I think this is easier to get by in. Whoever coined the term "dumb reach" is wrong; having a few easy and accessible fragrances isn't dumb at all. This is one of them.

I get some licorice that isn't listed, but I think it's the effect of lavender mixing with the caramel and vanilla. The citruses are very lovely, but not exotic. The benzoin surprisingly isn't discernable to me, they must have included very little of it indeed. Without it though, this stays quite fresh, although I suspect the sillage would've been better if it was stronger.

The florals are very blended, and neither the jasmine, violet or ylang ylang jut out. Kind of the perfect trio.

—}—@ darlingbud

Thank you MinaG for opening my eyes (nose) to this scent. It is happy and comforting — exactly what I need when stuck indoors on a glorious spring day. I love the juicy orange note.

courant

I'm probably out on a limb here, but I find Vol de Nuit in the base of this.
I bought a bottle of EDT because it is high summer here in the Southern Hemisphere and it's a lovely girlie trip to wear Mon Guerlain when the lavender is actually in full spike. It's a total melange of the Guerlain stables, inoffensive, comforting and office friendly with good endurance and moderate sillage.

ChelleBelle84

Now this, THIS I can LOVE!! It is just GORGEOUS! This is for the woman who knows who she is and what she represents and doesn’t have to beat anyone over the head about it. She doesn’t need a scent to introduce her. SHE is the attraction and people notice her first. Her scent accentuates her rather than the scent wearing her, and oh what a beauty this scent is. people do notice it. Definitely a day time scent, will perk you up in the morning, but can be worn at night for a casual outing during the summer. In the heat, it Is very refreshing, can radiate off of you, but doesn’t travel too far. It just stays as a bubble around you. I will say this is a great every day scent whether for the office or out and about running errands.

The main notes I pick up at first are the sweet mandarin, lavender with a little anise, and a twist of bergamot. Next comes the jasmine, the orange flower and maybe the ylang ylang, but I’m really not too certain if that’s what I’m smelling. They stay for a while until it becomes a just little powdery. This, however, won’t choke you in the heat. I also smell the iris more than violet. Not certain there is caramel although it is sweet, just not too sweet.

It lasts a good 4-6 hours. All year round scent if you live in a mild to hot climate. Probably better using the EDP or intense in cool to cold weather.

Vikki1985

A soft, whimsical and angelic softly powdered lavender scent. I imagine that if heaven, fairies and Angel's had a scent this would be it. This is absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word, this somehow manages not to be a synthetic lavender scent but at the same time it doesnt smell like pure lavender, which is great because in all honesty I've never wanted to smell like lavender, even though I dont find the scent of lavender bad it's just never appealed to me whatsoever to want a perfume that smells like it, so if you arent keen on it you'll be just as shocked as I am at how stunning this perfume is.

Even though this is slightly powdery it almost borders on slightly creamy aswell in a way, I dont make out any liquorice like others do but I do get the resemblance to lolita lempicka, I didnt like how strong the liquorice and aniseed was in that one it kinda ruined it for me, this doesnt smell like it either but it has a similar vibe - soft and delicate.

Overall this is absolutely beautiful and it's gone straight on my want list. I wasnt keen on the edp but then I'm not a gourmand girl so that was to be expected, the edp also has a hint of Escada magnetism in it too which put me off because I really dont like magnetism, this however is absolute perfection to my nose, even though it states in the notes that this is a gourmand I dont get that whatsoever on my skin.

Gorgeous 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓

Sailor Pluto

When I first sprayed this I immediately thought “Lolita Lempicka”! I agree with florally’s comment below, I also detect anise/licorice in here! It must be this licorice-violet combo that is reminiscent of Lolita Lempicka (the original purple bottle). This frag is not very sweet and the lavender behaves like a woodsy note in my opinion. It is powdery and soft, yet ancred in your skin due to the lavender note. It is a pretty scent!

TexasOrangeBlossom

I’ve been holding off my review because I just didn’t quite know what to make of it. I LOVE the original EDP, but it is so oily that it breaks me out. That was a devastating realization. As an EDT, I expected this to be lighter and it is. Given the notes and reviews, I expected to fall madly in love at first sniff. I didn’t. I was disappointed. I purchased it in December at about the same time I purchased the Intense version (also a huge love). As you can see, I was desperate to find a decent replacement for the EDP. Now, I have EDP, EDT, Intense, and Sensualle. I have smelled Bloom of Rose (not my favorite) and Florale (quite nice). All of them are different in their own way. None is a clone for the other. I wouldn’t mind a full army of Mon Guerlian standing guard on my dresser waiting to lead me into the battles of life.
On the the EDT, it has MG EDP DNA without as much vanilla and tons of citrus. It lighter and brighter. Seems to last just as long on me. Pardon my comparison here. It’s like the dryer sheet version of MG. Clean, fresh, floral. Sillage is a little longer than arms length. For me, it’s best on a warmer and humid day. While it was a “like” in the cold, it is “love” in the heat. I’m fortunate in that I can experience multiple seasons of weather in the winter. It’s a rare day when I actually need a coat and gloves. If you have a climate like me, this could be a year round fragrance. Otherwise, keep it for spring and summer. If you don’t love mandarin and orange blossom though, this might not work for you.

Jaxie23

It was MEH at first spray. This was a blind buy at Marshall’s. I thought it was decent but didn’t love it so I didn’t wear it. Well I tried again a few months later and I LOVE it. The vanilla is unlike any I have ever smelled. It’s soft and pretty no sharpness. I got a lot of compliments while wearing this. I am going to try the EDP next and intense.

—}—@ darlingbud

I suspect the EDTs are being clearanced as they are deeply discounted in the US. Love the juice once the initial sharpness settles. Reminds me of a Dior chypre with a lavender twist. Wonderful staying power.

From a quality control standpoint, the cap must be put on squarely with precision or it puts pressure on the nozzle and the product leaks.

EDIT: I like the top notes, not too sharp after all. Bright and juicy. Smells like happiness. Pleasant, not overpowering, fragrance. Good for daytime.

A.Lavieenrose

I haven't had the chance to test the new Intense version yet, but so far, this edt is my favorite out of the line! It has an airiness and freshness that the edp lacks imo.
I fell in love with Mon Guerlain edp when it was first released but I could not purchase it straight away and had to save for it for a couple months...in those couple months my taste changed from loving super sweet sugary scents to almost not being able to stomach them! So by the time I could purchase it, unfortunately Mon Guerlain edp was simply too sweet for me. Luckily, this edt was released and I purchased this one instead. Sadly the sillage and longevity are not that great but the scent is heavenly. I always envision fluffy pink clouds that smell like powdered vanilla marshmallows over a field of lavender when I smell this. The sweetness from the caramel and the vanilla are perfectly balanced against the refreshing citrus and the fresh-spicy aromatic lavender. I feel like the edt is more floral than the edp as well.
If you find the edp too much or too sweet or too heavy, give this one a try! You might be surprised!
Overall, a great fragrance! <3

drawingmaniac35

I have had the Florale version since the beginning of spring and I am in love with it. Also, I have loved the EDP from since the first time I sniffed it in a shop. However, these perfumes tend to be on the pricier side so it is hard to get my hands on them. Recently I received the EDT as a swap and I passed through 3 phases:
1. The Opening- I felt truly repulsed. It smelled like some cheap dish soap and I thought what I got was a fake until I discovered that the tester in the store smells the same :D
2. The Mid- I started getting used to it as it warmed on my skin after around 10 minutes. The sharpness was gone and I did enjoy the familiar cuddliness that started to emerge.
3. The Drydown- I am in love. The scent evolves to something kind of sweetish-skin like. The type of scent you'd wear when you just feel calm and happy. Honestly, if you can't stand the opening, just try to wait for the later phases of this perfume.

Update:
While I truly love the drydown of this scent, it doesn't last. Honestly, 2 hours tops and its gone.

Molly Smith

I like the EdP which is soft and powdery, but there is a certain note in the EdT which makes it unwearable for me. Probably the mandarin. It turns plasticky-sour and bitter on me. It becomes better in the drydown when this strange note is gone.

minag

I am a huge fan of the Mon Guerlain line, but the original EdP is my least favorite of the bunch so far because of how heavy it can feel in warmer weather or in small spaces like cars... I find it way too easy to overdo that one. The Florale WAS my favorite until I recently decided to add a 30ml bottle of the EdT to my collection. Because summer is coming and I was in serious need of a new thing to sniff.

I am typically not a fan of citrusy scents; they frequently feel like they are piercing my sinuses or just remind me of cleaning supplies. And I was a little leery of this perfume because of that, but it is nothing like the fresh citrusy scents I am used to smelling. I don't think the first descriptor here should be "citrus" at all. Citrus is there for sure, but it dissipates within the first half hour and what is left is a light, gentle breeze of warm caramel and flowers (I think the placement of the lavender in this notes pyramid is accurate for sure, as that is the strongest). I do get some resin here too, which I love. And the citrus perhaps remains to lighten the powderiness and weight of some of those flowers and sweets, but it is not prominent at all. And it is never sharp.

My husband is a great fan of fresh citrusy scents and hardly ever comments on my perfumes because I tend to go for the orientals. But he did comment on this. He said I smelled like a delicious candy. And even my mom commented on how great I smelled when we visited her recently and she also hardly ever compliments my choice of perfume. Both of these comments came many hours after I had stopped being able to detect any of this EdT on myself, so that goes to show you that longevity here is likely much better than we think. It does seem quite strong for an EdT, especially when first sprayed, but that could be due to the fact that Guerlain sprayers are generous with their output.

Ultimately, this was a very wordy way of saying I love this warm, delicate veil of sweetness and I love that it seems to last quite well. Thrilled with this line for sure.

Jessiejessjess99

Absolutely gorgeous, unique scent imo. The strongest notes I get are lavender and mint, the vanilla is slightly noticable with strong backgrounds of jasmine too. Pefect spring night time fragrances I think because the projection is pretty strong on my skin

florally

I've not tried original MG so this is purely about the EDT. :)

On me it opens with very strong lavender -- not sharp or herbal, but not exactly soft either. Sometimes I get a lovely flash of very realistic, dewy jasmine, but not every time. The lavender lingers well and is soon joined by vanilla, then caramel. It's quite straightforward, and while I can sense the other notes are there, it's so well-blended that I can't pick them out individually.

I find it a really interesting scent to wear because it sort of flows up and down throughout the day. It becomes a skin scent after the first hour, but then at random points through the day I get a waft of some abstract beauty, well after I thought it had disappeared. My brain doesn't register it as perfume which makes it even nicer -- it's just a soft whisper now and then that triggers a little moment of happiness, if that makes sense. Kind of like a clean white musk I suppose, but nicer imo.

Truly lovely.

EDIT: I ended up passing this on because the more I wore it, the more I was getting licorice. :( I happened to look at the ingredients and the list includes anise alcohol. I'd already ordered Florale so was resigning myself to moving that on as well, but happily it doesn't have that licorice edge at all! And no anise alcohol in the ingredients. So for others who are in the anti-licorice camp, stick to the Florale. :)

blake.lee

This is more floral than the floral version. Odd. Anyway, this is unmistakably a Mon Geurlain flanker but it’s less sweet, a touch soapy and less cloying for sure. I like the original but it’s heavy duty. This is airier and brighter. Also, it was practically screaming at me to layer it with coconut. I listened and spritzed a couple sprays of Yves Rocher Niox De Coco. Pure heaven! You could never do this with the EDP! I will be wearing this combo during summer. I only bought a 1.6oz bottle of the EDT because it was deeply discounted for under $40 at a major department store. However, I think I will get more wear out of it than I imagined.

tessaeastgate

I really, really love Mon Guerlain EDT. It is brighter, cleaner, clearer. I think this is why Mon Guerlain EDP loyalists mistake it as being simple: many people have a notion that "cleaned up" flankers lose the complexity of the original. I am by no means a minimalist, but there is nothing ordinary about MG EDT to me.

The first very noticeable difference between this and its EDP predecessor is the pulling back of caramel to let the citrus, flowers, and lavender through. That alone makes this more ideal for the height of summer here in the southern hemisphere (and the reason why I bought this first). I do love the EDP just as much, but I can see that I will get more immediate mileage from the EDT, given my circumstances. While the toning down of the gourmand does let the lavender through, that is not to say that the lavender in EDT is more prominent. In fact, it smells less rounded, more effervescent, which most likely works best in this formulation.

It seems that Mon Guerlain EDP was created to appeal to the mass market, going down the fruity-floral-sweet route that is so popular with the trendy set these days. Mon Guerlain EDT may have been created as a sort of alter ego for the same demographic, specifically for ones who are not partial to gourmand scents.

Buy the EDT if you liked the EDP, but you couldn't bring yourself to buy it because it is too mainstream for you. I find EDT definitely less like other current releases, and (I'll go out on a limb here) I think may even go the longer distance in terms of sales through time and trends. That being said, while it is less popular among today's die-hard perfumistas, I think it has more potential to become a classic.

I<3Perfume

There is a new Mon Guerlain Bloom Of Rose coming out. The bottle is pinker with a Red neck. Its rosier, fresher and more clean/soapy. We already have it here in Japan.

trouveparfums

I am pleasantly surprised. I received this as a sample from sephora and decided to try it one morning. I feel guilty to compare but it smells similar to chanel chance eau tendre which has been on my mind lately.

I love how mon guerlain smells with body chemistry. It has great longevity even though it sits close to the skin but in a refreshing way. A few extra sprays wouldn't hurt.

So of course I quickly picked up a bottle online. Imagine my horror when I realised it was the EDT I sampled but purchased the EDP. I will review the EDP when it arrives but I have to say I am disappointed because the EDT is charming, lovely, feminine.

The Tahitian vanilla and benzoin upon dry down isn't a gourmand its kept fresh by the mandarin and lavender notes and florally feminine with jasmine, blended to perfection. It has so many notes I love. No wonder I fell in love.

longevity - moderate
sillage - soft to moderate

Ulusia

I am glad that I am not the only one who is anosmic to edp and florale version. When I saw the edt version I did not expect much and what a surprise I love it, especially ylang-ylang note, which is well blended. It has the vibe of l' eau no 5 but Guerlain is compatible with my skin chemistry. Perfect!

Verka81

Strong, pungent, all-vanilla and caramel. One spray is enough to set my head spinning. And no, I don't care much for it. The scent lingers on my skin for hours. However, the tender blossoms come out on my cotton pillowcase in the morning. Then it's quie a pleasurable experience.

unicajiha_01

I prefer the edp than the edt. Edt is generic but the drydown is fantastic. Edp is excellent overall from the first spray to drydown but the sillage is poor. Edt is refreshin but I really don't like the formulation.

Update: October 2020
Disappointed that the production of this perfume was discontinued. After few months of using it I realized how refreshing and magnificent this scent is. The smell feels elegant whenever I use it, it's best at night times during date night or sexy time with hubby. There's something really gorgeous with this perfume that I really like, you can smell yourself with this perfume beautifully.

Little_dragon

The two reviewers before me both mentioned occasional anosmia with respect to Mon Guerlain (EDP). I really feel that nails my response to the Mon Guerlain line as well -- especially, I've discovered, to the EDT. I still really love the EDP and wear it most days, but I do struggle to detect it sometimes. (Maybe I should follow my fellow Gourmandlover's lead and spray less to smell more.)

The EDT became a skin scent very quickly on me, and I can only really pick up the citrus notes and the orange blossom (the latter of which isn't a note in the EDP). Orange blossom tends to take over any fragrance when it hits my skin, but with Mon Guerlain EDT, the citrus remains dominant, from opening through dry-down. I don't get the lavender at all, or even the vanilla, really, but the caramel is a presence that balances the sharpness of the citrus.

This is a really pretty, bright, elegant, and inoffensive addition to the line, but for me it's still all about the EDP.

Gourmandlover

Ooh I really like this! Tried it from a sample for the last few days and now I'm craving it. It's indeed similar to mon guerlain edp, which I love but seem to be anosmic to some days. I discovered that less is more with both of them, that's the way I can mostly enjoy them myself for several hours. Just one spray at the side of my neck does the trick for me. When I use more, I can smell it less. The citrus notes makes this edt feel a little lighter. Call me and my nose crazy, but yesterday it strongly reminded me of another scent. I couldn't think of what it was, but after some thinking I could grab my memory of it; it reminded me of miss dior ( I think the 2017 version). It wasn't in the first stage (that made me think a little of lavender soap), but towards the dry down I got the association. I don't understand how, but it just did. Sillage and longevity were moderate on me

A few days later when I smelled the spray nozzle of my sample it made me think of 2 other perfumes; shalimar souffle de parfum and givenchy ange ou demon le secredt edt. I knew about the citrus note in this one, but didn't know about the jasmin. When I looked at the notes here I saw that they all 3 contain citrus and jasmin. They don't smell the same ofcourse, but I liked it that I could recognize something familiar

It is a pleasant fragrance, lots of vanilla and light woody notes.
Some citrus and floral notes as well. Reminds me of original very strongly.
A good, quite luxurious smelling scent, but nothing that ground-breaking.
More of an everyday scent to me.

This is a cheery interpretation of the original. It is uplifting yet soft and comforting. I think that adding the mandarin gives it a feeling of aromatherapy. I keep the small bottle in my bag when I wear it for touch ups during the day. Smells classy and expensive its lovely to get wafts of it as you move around.

I agree with others that say this is a more linear version of the EDP but it is exactly this reason that I love it. This EDT exudes class and could be worn in any setting. It lasts about 3 hours on me which is to be expected for an EDT. This one is all about the vanilla and lavender - definitely less caramel than the original.

raiza1990

Softer version of the original. More simple and linear. Great longevity, soft sillage. It is nice, but not remarkable. I still prefer the first one.

I got a sample of this yesterday.
When I first sprayed it on, I didnt feel like it was for me at all. But after about 30 minutes - 1 hour,
it felt like I had just gotten a crush on someone,
it turned into this cozy, warm, sweet vanilla-milky scent.
But there is this spice to it, floral spice I guess, but on me its not very strong, and thats what I like. Because when first spraying it on its too "spicy" for me.
Usually when I feel that way for a perfume, its an autumn perfume, but this is very spring-summer for me.
Fitting on a sunny day with a loved one.

Ok guys, so this is beautiful, truly! EDT version possesses this absolute balance, so difficult to achieve in a fragrance, which the other two versions don’t have in such perfection.

Everything just works seamlessly from the head note till dry down. The very first whiff is simply angelic! There is that magnificent, delicate and innocent floral note in it, enveloping you so softly, with a tender kiss of juicy mandarin. This is heaven!

The whole composition is very airy and translucent, but at the same time pretty long lasting for an EDT. I liked the original EDP, but I’m in love with this one!

I might be in love. This divine beauty is gentle and delicate, just a bit sweet but not too much.

I see an image of a happy innocent young woman, long brown hair, dressed in white or light pastel dress, dancing in the meadow while the sun is shining through some clouds. It's spring, everything feels of new hope and she's happy and seems to have no care in the world.

Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette starts with lovely citrus, not too screechy, not even too citrusy;) This is probably the effect of lavender and vanilla. I thought it was bergamot but it says mandarine orange. Of course, my nose is never to be trusted. Spraying is much better than dabbing because it enhances the top notes which makes this EDT so special and soft.

I don't sense much of the original in the opening but it becomes pronunced in the drydown. A mix of vanilla and lavender with toned down sweetness. For being this tender, it is really strong and long lasting.

I agree with the below review that this could be made by angels. It is truly divine.

Great perfume. If ANGELS could make perfumes - THIS would be IT.

Tested this on my skin at a local store in Switzerland on 04.08.18...

In the beginning I thought that it is less caramella-ish than the original & that it's more on the the side of the allegoria range (because of its remarkable 'spicy-flowery' notes [you know i like the allegoria range - even though i cannot stand flowery scents...])...

I find it 10000x Better than florale. And compared to the original, I could only say that I smell more of the lavender - BUT the dry-down is as delicious as the original...or even better!

I got the full size bottle of the original and I'm gonna buy this very soon!!

...I guess this eau de Toilette works even better for me in summer, because the 'spicy-flowery' part is more recognizable. And i feel like it lasts longer during hot days than the original perfume... don't know why.
But for me it simply works. :)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!

Vanlilith

It is already on the shelf of Sephora in Italy, the juice is pale pink and visibly more liquid than the edp, the collar is silver but doesn't sparkle. :)

I've tried it Saturday (quite an hot day +32°C) and while the opening is really lovely and refreshing without being too sweet with the agrumes + lavender, the dry down is quite disappointing: it's too simplified and lighted, the base really miss the wood part, no tonka or other flowers, IMHO it's too linear and it lacks of staying power, completely gone after 3 hours. If only the bright opening lasted longer it would have been the perfect summer scent but it fades away after 10 minutes :/

I hope it arrive soon to South America !

I know that I need this one.
