Armani Code Satin by Giorgio Armani is a Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women. Armani Code Satin was launched in 2015. Top notes are Ginger, Sorbet and Pear; middle notes are Orange Blossom, Neroli and Jasmine; base notes are Vanilla, Cacao, Praline and Patchouli.

Armani Code Satin comes out in August 2015 as a new, playful version of the Armani Code Pour Femme fragrance from 2006. The new flanker allegedly reflects a seductive woman of extraordinary personality, provocative charm and energy.

The scent is a floral oriental gourmand. It opens with sparkling notes of ginger and pear sorbet. Neroli essence illuminates the heart of the entire composition, combined with about orange blossom absolute and Arabian jasmine. The base is intense and sweet: it features patchouli, cocoa, praline and vanilla.

The bottle is decorated with deep pink shades. The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 70 ml Eau de Parfum.

queen of confrontation

Lol! I can't believe the amount of people that are crazy about this one because it's soooooo average. Don't even stress about this being discontinued because it's really not it. Never have I ever received compliments on this and I wear it as a basic every day perfume because it's so snoozefest. As soon as I try the Luna flanker, compliments left and right.

I’ve never been a fan of the armani code pour femme line. I’ve always had my eyes out in search of the cashmere one but unfortunately never found it. Then I gave satin a try and was mesmerized. It’s incredibly elegant. It’s a very warm, sweet and rich scent. It’s cozy yet leaves a hell of a trail. I literally could smell it lingering around in the hallways after almost 5 hours wear time.

I got lucky and snagged a bottle of this a few years ago at a thrift store for $20.
The pear is very fleeting, but thankfully the ginger sticks around. This is definitely a gourmand to my nose, with the praline front and center. I don't get much of the florals.. maybe a little orange blossom. I love the fresh-spiciness that the ginger adds, because without it I think it would be too sickly sweet for my taste. Contrary to the votes, I actually feel like this wears just fine in the summer heat. Overall an enjoyable gourmand, but not worth that discontinued price tag.

Sweet ginger caramel
Quality is really good!

I am selling this discontinued perfume (45/50ml) for €90 + shipping from Croatia (Europe)! 🤍

I was lucky to get this discontinued little gem from a swap with a lovely member of the community.
It’s an old juice but the scent remains intact.
To me Satin smells like winter and especially the festive season. It’s warm, sweet and full of spices.
Like a warm room, with a fireplace going, gingerbread cookies on the table and you’re sipping on some hot chocolate.
The opening is all dusty cocoa (that note actually reminds me a bit of the one found in Orchidee Vanille from Van Cleef) and it’s a looot. I was actually a bit overwhelmed by it but it quickly gets more quiet and wearable. The middle and drydown remind me a lot of the original Code but with the spices amped up, especially the ginger. I can’t distinguish the white florals here but I do sense that patchouli - very earthy, it grounds the whole composition.
All in all, I find it more interesting than the og offering for this line by Armani but I wouldn’t search for it again.
I will enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

peasoup

well it was a decent price at a little perfume store that had some old stock, but that might also be why longevity is poor....and the drydown is EXACTLY like mugler aura......which is dirt cheap online and outperforms it........so i would highly recommend checking it out if youre missing this and the drydown was your favourite part ^^;

edit: longevity is not poor i be making snap judgements. its less green than aura, im happy to have both <3

My Signature Scent for over 3 years. I MISS IT! I still love it just as much and I never found a replacement for it... Too bad it is discontinued, for me it's the most successful of all the Armani Code perfumes.

A perfectly measured perfume. Gourmand and sweet without being nauseating, floral but without overdose of white flowers to give you a headache, slightly spicy without piercing your nose, with this delicate touch of ginger that comes to balance the whole and give freshness.

A fragrance that lasts on my skin for a whole day, on my clothes for days. A winter fragrance by excellence. It is very addictive, warm and comforting.

It is the perfume on which I received the most compliments. I remember when a gentleman stopped me at the music conservatory and said: "You smell so good, Miss! What perfume are you wearing?"

For me, it's a 10/10, and probably the only 10/10 I would give!

This is the perfume that I call a second skin! That perfume that marks the skin, which makes a person feel good about life, and with the probability of always having someone, or almost everyone praising the beautiful aroma of Cocoa that pulsates in a polite and excellent way!

Fruity opening and at the same time spicy, I love this combination of extreme aromas that work out super well! You can feel the crushed burning Ginger and the clean Pear note associated with a fine, subtle and enveloping gourmand touch. Beautiful this phase here.

In the drydown I feel a delicious white floral touch that doesn't go to the dirty paths, on the contrary, it transmits a feeling of perennial comfort and immediate cleanliness; here, it is still possible to clearly perceive the issue of the "gourmand" note that has already emerged since its release. It makes the line of clean florals, even if white.

Without a doubt, it is recognizable for being a perfume that has a magnificent trail and an absurd lasting, and at the end it settles the notes in such a way that any and all praise that is made about it is fair. I feel iced Vanilla, absurd notes of Cocoa that pulsate everywhere and are not at all cloying, despite being a young and not so weighty note, I also feel the Patchouli kind of herbal, greenish that makes the final seam in this magnificent fragrance. For those who enjoy a fragrance like the one described above, it's worth every penny invested!

OzlemVrdr

Such a disappointment that it's discontinued. I can describe like "intense cocoa, little vanilla with white flowers background". I have 10 ml left and i wish they will decide produce it again. Longevity is 10 hours average, sillage is amazing. With 4 spray you can feel it all day long strongly.

Masterpiece, I brought this few years back when I got into fragrances, this is a complement getter it’s has a wonderful dry down caco and vanilla smells Edible and extremely sexy 😍

Perpetual Collector

I bought this in March of 2022, tried it a couple of times, and could not smell anything past the 5-minute mark ( see my review from March, if interested). So last week I decided to test it again, now that it had some serious chance to simmer, and the result was the same, barely detectable on the skin right after the first spray unless you bury your nose into the arm. 5-10 minutes later, there is nothing. As far as chocolate and praline go, I am like, what? Where? It's nothing but a very green faint scent emanating from the test site, miles away from how I imagine chocolate or praline perfume to smell like.
Maybe it's my skin, but considering how in my huge collection this is the absolutely only perfume that has zero performance, I doubt that. I hate it so much that I have isolated it in a different drawer from the rest of my collection, just so I don't have to look at the box. My WORST purchase EVER. Please do not pay those exorbitant amounts of money eBay sellers are asking for it. This got discontinued for a reason.

tia t

im SO UPSET this is discontinued

Acidula

I smelt it in a duty free shop and bought it immediately. It's far from any fragrance I've ever bought or worn (praline? Really?), but this one captured me. Too bad it was a limited edition. It was elegant but not heavy, for a grown woman but not mature, gourmand but not too sweet. I like Giorgio Armani perfumes, especially the limited edition ones.

Vainillalover

I love this perfume is really nice; sweet, elegant, you can smell a delicious warm spicy chocolate and vanilla. The smell Is not similar to Dior addict, but is elegant just exactly the same. Perfect for a date night, and winter.

jayznar

Code Satin has been on my radar for a while as Code Cashmere is one of my ultimate favourite scents. Its in my Top 5 for life for sure. I heard they are very similar with Satin being more gourmand.

Both are discontinued which is actually the worst tragedy because they are such yummy unique scents. Satin is virtually impossible to find and is going on ebay for $200+ which is ridiculous.
I decided to get Dapper Fragrances version of Code Satin and O M G. They did such a good job on this clone because I understand the hype. This smells sooo similar to LIRA in my opinion. Total yummy cake vibes with the vanilla and cocoa.
Dappers clone lasts and projects which it seems like this OG does not!!!! ... I really suggest checking that one out if you're still interested in Code Satin. XO

Perpetual Collector

One of the most disappointing purchases for me, ever. Satin was on my wish list for a couple of years, and I truly wish I left it there. What a colossal waste of money. I wish I could describe it, or my thoughts about it, but I can't really smell anything. My husband commented that it was "nice'', but all I detect is a low-grade musky perfume with zero sweetness coming from that praline and cocoa listed. The longevity of whatever this is supposed to be is about AN HOUR.
So reviews are correct on this one, don't waste your money on Satin, there are way better, discontinued perfumes to be had.

diaanz81

Chocolate souffle with a side of pear sorbet anyone? That's what I get almost immediately on application. The yummy milk chocolate note, not dark, lingers for the entire duration of the fragrance but gradually recedes, revealing the other players. The floral heart of this fragrance is when the DNA of the original is evident to me but it is balanced, blending in beautifully with the more gourmand notes, never over powering them. By the the time the base rolls in, the chocolate and florals have mostly given way to a lovely powdery vanilla. My nose also picks up patchouli in the dry down but it's polite and a slightly herbal note which helps prevent the scent from becoming a full fledged gourmand. So would I call it a gourmand? Sort of yes, it definitely has very evident gourmand facets but by no means is it just that. I would recommend it for those who prefer their perfumes just to hint at a mysterious deliciousness but would rather not smell like food. The only negative I have to mention is the performance which is quite lacking. Longevity is only about 4-5 hours, 6 at the best. It sits very close to my skin and is an intimate scent I get wafts now and again but it doesn't get a lot of attention from others, in my experience. It's definitely one of my favorite chocolatey fragrances but unfortunately, discontinued and getting harder to find which makes me treasure my bottle. Try it if you get the chance.

Rober7a

This is sweet!! Sweet pear, cacao, praline are prominent, so it's expected. When I spray on skin or clothes, this synthetic aftersmell comes out unfortunately, which ruins it and gives it a very 'perfumy' vibe, but I'm not too upset since I'm not a fan of pear fragrances. Don't think I've ever liked a fragrance with a prominent pear note. The cap however, the scent in the cap is just yummy, I feel like that's what the fragrance aimed to be like, and if it were, I'd definitely buy it. Lasting power and projection are great.

DJoy27

Whoa this is way sweeter than I was expecting (although looking at the notes I should’ve expected sweet!) Fortunately I love sweet frags so maybe this will grow into a love for me. I can smell the Armani code DNA in it after it dries. Definitely a winter/fall scent-very warm and sweet.

lembaz

I absolutely LOVE this perfume. I first bought it back in 2015/16 whilst out looking for a new fragrance and this just swept me off of my feet and I have been wearing it ever since.

I'm gutted that this is being discontinued as it is the only perfume that strangers have complimented me on! I wish Armani would re-continue this as I'm finding their new ones far too sweet for my taste, but this just hits the spot.

I'm now force to look for a new fragrance that's similar because I don't want to give this up!

FatimahC

I'm mad they discontinued this one because now I rarely want to use mine. Like balsamic and milky chocolate covered fruits, but the chocolate and balsamic smell being heaviest on me, then the milkyness, then the pear. It lasts awhile on me. All day.some of my stuff carry the smell for weeks.

Titaniumpixel

A few years ago I went into a perfume shop and asked if they have any perfumes that smell like chocolate. They sprayed various ones on cardboard strips for me, and there was one that I instantly fell in love with the moment I got home, which was Armani Code Satin. It was so creamy, vanilla chocolatey, just divine gorgeousness. I left the cardboard strip on my counter, and for a full week whenever I walked past it, I caught a delicious waft of chocolate, and I couldn't resist picking it up and smelling it, and it always made me smile. The scent never faded, it was just gorgeous. I was convinced I'd found my holy grail perfume. Unfortunately I was broke, and Code Satin was discontinued about 6 months later.

After routinely looking at various places online, I managed to snag a half empty bottle for £15 on ebay this week, so I'm over the moon. This is my real time review.

First spray - spicy, ginger? Only slight hints of vanilla in background. Not sure I like it. Oh no, is this right? Is this the perfume I remember?

2 minutes later - smells more creamy with an edge now, similar to Diesel Loverdose Tattoo, which is one of my favourite perfumes, so maybe there's hope it's going to develop into the chocolate heaven that I remember.

50 minutes later - it's really subtle now, a lot creamier. Still reminds me of Loverdose Tattoo.

An hour and a half later - where are you?! I can only smell anything at all if I put my nose right onto my skin. It's a very subtle creamy vanilla scent now, with a tiny hint of chocolate. I'm so glad I restrained myself from buying a full bottle of this, I would have been so disappointed.

6 hours later - barely zero trace on my skin, maybe the tiniest hint of jasmine. No vanilla, no chocolate.

I'm so disappointed that this perfume doesn't last on my skin. I've been hunting for it forever. It has the sillage and longevity of much cheaper perfumes. In fact there's cheaper perfumes that last longer! Perhaps this is why it was discontinued.

My hunt for a long lasting, chocolate perfume that projects continues!

Lalouve<3

Ok, after finding out about this perfume quite late as this is discontinued, and after I looked it up online here in Greece and not being able to find it anywhere, I was lucky to spot one last bottle at a local perfume shop, but not so lucky with the price> 94euros for the 75ml bottle, or for the fact that the tester's spray nozzle was broken and I couldn't really test it beforehand, so I basically blind-bought it.

This one is sweet and creamy and gourmand, yes, it will be a crowd pleaser (actually it was since it is discontinued), but...it isn't sth that special. In fact, it reminded me a lot of Victoria's secret coconut passion body spray, which is sweet, gourmand , lasts and projects A LOT, as much as this one , or even more (!) and that one is for a fraction of the price of satin. In the drydown, when the patchouli note comes to play with the cacao, vanilla etc, it reminds me of Zadig and Voltaire 'this is her'.

Would I re-buy it even if it was available? No. Do I think it is overpriced for what it offers?yes. Are there better, more refined, long lasting gourmands out there?Yes. If you can't get a hold of it, should you consider yourself unlucky? Not really. In fact, its sister, cashmere, is a way better, more refined delectable flowery gourmand than satin is. I had the chance to try that one on the same store, and it will be my next purchase right after this one.

edit: I retried this and can definitely detect the praline-cacao combo on my skin (and I am wearing it in really really how summer weather. It shares some of the dna of victoria secret coconut passion, but it isn't the same obviously. However, I am pretty sure whoever likes satin will really like Coconut passion too.

RachelSeun

Smells almost identical to Aquolina’s Gold Sugar. Lovely, creamy and sweet, Armani Code Sarin is gorgeous date night fragrance that smells sexy and expensive.

sassa7

I recall loving this when I tried it on at Ulta so I bought it last year... I was obsessed and couldnt forget about it. I was in love with the cacao note, it smelled so comforting on my skin. I also love the OG Armani code, but I chose to buy the Satin. What happened a year after I bought it is basically my hormones went a little crazy, part of growing older and due to my hereditary androgens problem, and it suddenly started smelling so manly on me, like a man's cologne. And I noticed that with other perfumes containing cacao. Not sure if this has ever happened to anyone else. It always made me feel sexy and cozy when I was in my car ready to go out. In 30 degree weather it smelled divine. And then I could not even stand it. I was sad about it because I saved up to buy a big bottle and wore it for a few winter months. Anyway, I regret selling it, now it is super expensive. The bad reviews on here make me feel better, even if I get offended reading them lmao. I really miss it some days.
Satin is perfect for winter time, it is deep and smells expensive. Orange blossom and neroli are some of my favorite white florals. Not overly sweet, it is deep, milky and nothing sharp.

bdragonfly12345

At first spray: deep (ginger) spicy in the back of my nose, and I smell a lot of orange blossom--it could almost be a JPG Classique flanker. As it develops, sweetness becomes more pronounced, neroli peeks its head in, and everything melts together better.

Like others have mentioned, this doesn't have a great longevity, but I find it lasts better on cold skin. I really like this, and I am so happy I have a generous decant of it! :) I would wear this pretty much any time, and for any occasion...I wish it wasn't discontinued!

It's an addiction

Based on other reviews, I expected this to be very similar to Code Cashmere. Upon first impression, I’d have to disagree though. I find Cashmere to have more of the original Code’s DNA.

A powdery cacao with vanilla and ginger (almost giving it a little smoky/tobacco vibe) is what I get on my skin. The DNA of the original is there, but pushed to the far background, you might not even detect it if you didn’t know. As this smells cozy, warm and delicious, I get this is classified as a gourmand in a way, but a floral fruity gourmand? No. Also it’s not literally gourmand, because, even though I like all sorts of food, I would not put this in my mouth.

I do really like it and will wear it more often to see if I need to update my review. I wouldn’t mind this on a man either!

aldinatic

So... first of all, this is overpriced and overhyped. First spritz ; you will get the sorbet and ginger, which is not to my liking, after that it settles into a nicer Praline -Neroli mix. You will get the cacao in the dry down-when it gets to a skin scent. The projection is not that good as well. The packaging is the most beautiful one. The scent reminds me in the dry down of Hugo Boss-private accord, to masculine, meh.

golden.signorina

This is my new love..
Absolutely gorgeous..
Fresh not too sweet mature deep sophisticated vanilla smell..
I love how jasmin Symbac blended perfectly with chocolate and vanilla..
It's so addictive

How could you, Armani? How could you create a perfume so good and then discontinue it like it has never existed? Not going to lie, this heartbreak was much harder to overcome than the first breakup :D

Armani Code Satin introduced me to the world of gourmands. I went into the shop with a completely different perfume on my mind, planned to back up on one of my regulars, and instead left with this one. Spicy, warm and delicious. I simply couldn't resist such a scent. It turned out to be a gourmet chocolate candy with a hint of ginger, served on a plate of white flowers. Yes, it was sweet but neither cheap nor syrupy. Code Satin radiated with rich and smokey aura.

Everyone around me liked it. I can't recall having that much compliments on any other perfume I have ever worn. This one stands out the most in the ”you smell so good” department.

The only downside Code Satin had was the staying power. I used to always carry the bottle with me, otherwise, I would enjoy the scent for 3-4 hours maximum. Disappointing, isn't it? I am a strong believer that there is no point in wasting money on any fragrance that has bad to moderate performance, yet somehow this Armani gem has made its way in my list of the best perfumes out there! The most unique gourmand I have ever come across.

yueguang

For me it's cocoa and praline fragrance; sweet but in a cool way. Definitely for colder months. And Oriflame Love Potion is quite similar to this with its dna and longevity, also a more affordable version👍

ekowala7

I hunted down this flanker because I L O V E Armani Code Cashmere. Upon finding a great deal on eBay, I scooped it up.

This is a rich, warm, vanilla chocolate fragrance. It feels comforting, sweet and warm. However, I don't like this as much as Cashmere - which I think is warmer and more unique. This is a sweet sweet fragrance, but nothing completely mind blowing.

The longevity/performance is wonderful 6-8 hours on skin, like a bomb on clothing and will last and last, silage is heavy.

Overall - 8/10

EDIT 08-08-2021 I finished both bottles of these - since my review last year. And I surprised myself by preferring the Satin. So update to this review, Satin #1, Cashmere, close #2. Both are gorgeous, but that sweet, girly warmth from Satin (while yes, perhaps more 'basic') is more versatile in my real life. The almond in the Cashmere tires me out after a while. But I never grow tired of the chocolate-vanilla-praline goodness of Satin.

Palmer Eldritch

I HAVE TO add to my review below:
WOW I tested this for a week and received so many compliments! I can see why this is such a classic!!

So many MMMMMMMmmmss...and 'what are you wearing???' 'you smell amazing / good' from both men and women!

Such a gorgeously delicious scent, now to find the largest bottle...

Palmer Eldritch

The epitome of a delectable winter scent! ❄

Very gourmand and scrumptious, whenever I spray this I think of a lush ski town like St. Moritz, recently covered in snow.

For the first 30 minutes from initial spray this reminds me a vanilla coca-cola with a bit of ginger.
After around an hour the cocoa note starts to emerge along with the super-irresistible praline.

There is nothing smokey or powdery about it. I can slightly smell the white florals, but all this reminds me of vanilla cocoa with fresh ginger. It's more gourmand than it's Cashmere counterpart.

Performance is also quite nice, lasts a relatively long time on the skin with silage slightly beyond arms length.

It's sexy, well-blended and just absolutely perfect for colder months. I'd recommend trying it out if you can find it !!!

Sissib7

For all those looking for a scent that could be a substitute: try Ange ou Demon by Givenchy. It is not the same but I find it somewhat hits the same spot.

caro78

Armani code cashmere is the closest dupe

Kendelem1999

Equally as lovely as Folie but in no way smell the same!

Tt777

Can anyone recommend another fragrance in the same wheelhouse/vain as this fragrance? I really enjoy it and hate that it’s discontinued- the ones listed are also discontinued besides the original Armani code and I do not think Dior addict smells like AC satin- thanks so much in advance- somewhere on YouTube someone said it’s similar to Lancôme’s la nuit a la folie- can anyone confirm this? Thanks again!

Tt777

I bought samples based on YouTube reviews- this is nice- soft, sophisticated, classy and mature ( I mean this in a good way ) I love gourmands and vanilla and usually do not like patchouli in fragrance however it is blended well here- I also have si which I enjoy, so the house of Armani seems to blend patchouli well in their fragrances;) to my nose the vanilla is not overpowering or super sweet as it is balanced with the other notes- this reminded me a little bit of loverdose kiss but this is more grown up and refined with less is a fruit opening-

I have not tested Armani code so do not have that to compare with- it’s finally cold in la and this fragrance is cozy and comforting to me while making me feel feminine, pretty, sophisticated and rich:) I think it is soft enough for daytime and can easily be worn into night- seems to have pretty good longevity- at least 5 or 6 hrs

I may hunt down a full bottle and purchase if the price is right- if you enjoy si and enjoy vanilla, I’d give satin a try:)

Blue wolf

A total disconnect between the notes listed and the scent on my skin; no cocoa, no praline, no pear, no patchouli it is almost an exact dupe of the older version of Dior Addict. As for sorbet imho that’s a ridiculous note as what would unflavored sweetened ice smell like? Sorbet is always flavored. I was taken completely aback; good thing I love Dior Addict. I haven’t tried the newest formulation of Addict, my bottle is over 10 years old and it’s a beast for longevity, Code Satin not so much; admittedly my skin absorbs fragrance and most light fragrances are gone in an hour.

So if you like Addict but wish the night blooming cereus top note was softer then you’ll love Satin, it even has the same vanilla base as Addict. I shouldn’t be surprised as ethically the fragrance industry is light years away from what it was 35 years ago, so many fragrances smell alike they are formulated to appeal to particular demographics to make as much mo ey as possible.

BettinaFox

Nice and not an ordinary scent, but like Code Cashmere, way toooo sweet for my taste.

glitteralex

With notes of Cinnamon Hots and bubble gum atop a toasted amber base, this composition is a hot mess! Poorly blended and loud, Code Satin reminds me of something Victoria's Secret or Bath & Body Works would issue. Unfortunately for me, it has great tenacity and lasted a good 8 hours.

mellyv1973

This is such a pleasant, yummy fragrance. Warm, sweet, chocolate-y. So good! I'd wear this any time of the day during any season. I think it's quite unisex as well. Wouldn't mind getting cozy with my hubby if he wore this one.

Kendelem1999

I mean no disrespect to the reviewer before me but... this is not even in the same galaxy as Beyonce Heat Wild Orchid. Now with that being said I adore the aforementioned scent. It’s great! Sweet, simple and very short lived. Now Code Satin. Wow! I believe this is an underrated gourmand gem and I couldn’t be happier about that fact! I do not smell it everywhere I go and it is mind blowing in every way possible. The pear sorbet mixes perfectly with the floral heart and the base notes should read “decedent chocolate cake”. Because that’s what I get every single time!!! It is so creamy and well blended and did I mention the dry down of chocolate cake? It lasts well on my scent eating skin which is the cherry on top of this hot fudge sundae. I can see how fruity folks would see the slightly spicy opening as leaning unisex and on that note I would totally be okay if my husband smelt of Code Satin till his last dying day! Anyone who loves gourmands or chocolate will love this. I bet my life on it!!!

Bigsly

Wow! Prices went crazy on this one. I do like it, but the cocoa note isn't especially prominent on the drydown, though it is recognizable and lasts a long time. If you want something much, much cheaper but with a somewhat similar drydown, try Beyonce's Heat Wild Orchid. Also, I'd call it at least borderline unisex for those who like fragrances such as Rochas Man, the difference often seems to be that lavender in the "masculine iscent" is swapped out for a different floral.

UPDATE: In the far drydown there is similarity to Barbara Bui (the one with strong sandalwood).

Ghadeer540

This one is really Controversial, some like it on me and few ppl hate it even ask me to not wear any more , so I stopped wearing it , its sweetness is annoying to some ppl , use it carefully if you bought it for example it is a date and Intimacy fragrance in my opinion ask your partner if he likes it first then go for it,

deinnorra

I really like this fragrance. It subtly reminds me of Jil Sander Style’s yellow flanker which I used to own and love.

MariaMy

Hello,

I was watching a few YouTube video reviews, with a girl sniffing the bottle saying how much she loves this.
Personally I like this at best.
6.3/10 definitely not love.
But unfortunately people LOVED This on me. Which was annoying.
Compliment getter 8.1/10
My doctor is awesome but In the four years I’ve visited his never had a compliment pulled out of him.
He literally apologised and said sorry but you smell really good. When I wastefully spritzed Armani code Satin on my top.
Personally if you’re shopping for you own pleasure (as I usually do)
I prefer Armani Code. To me that is. 8/10 timeless scent I love.
It is passionate comforting and sexy sensual scent.
But head turner Armani code Satin 8.2/10
Buy this if your wanting to spray something more liberally as it is lighter the Armani code. But still as warm but lacks the depth of comfort sexy it’s more like a fling or club type of scent.
It’s a backup plan and the day version of code
Armani code Satin my taste 6.3/10 summer nights, day any time winter nights not bad NOT SUMMER DAY
Armani Code my taste 8-9/10

I don't usually wear floral fragrances, however, this perfume seems to please those around me.
At first, I wasn't a big fan of this fragrance but I was gifted a big bottle of this and it would have been rude not to wear it. So I wore it as an everyday, work scent. The number of compliments I received went beyond my expectations. I received at least 3 compliments each time I wore it. I couldn't believe it!
I realised that the reason I didn't think much of it was because I became anosmic to it so I only detected the floral opening and not the sweet, chocolatey base that everyone else could smell. It's gotten to the point that my friends/co-workers request that I wear this scent.
This fragrance is perfect for those days where you don't want a challenging scent and just want to smell good without offending anyone.

flowerbomb81

I really couldn't smell anything when I sprayed this. I had to go in with 19 sprays to smell anything and even then i had to put my arm up to my nose to smell it. It really is a nice perfume, and if it wasn't for the poor silage on me i would say i love this enough to be my signature, but it would be pricey for me needing so many sprays to smell it.

ave_maria

I had a previous review here that was all wrong. I mixed some fragrances together while I was testing them all and couldn't judge this one properly. I really dislike this. Truly, I've tried to like it but I just can't. It's just so sweet and gourmand it makes me want to puke. I can't stomach it. All I smell is a terrible white chocolate and nothing else. It's so gourmand and in your face, that right now as I have it on I feel so nauseated. I'm finally starting to understand my tastes in perfume, and this one is the exact opposite of what I like.

cassiopeia1957

i loooove this. imagine a scent of box full of milk chocolates. that's it. creamy, soft, rounded, intense chocolate scent so smooth. amazing for cold weather. it's the most smooth parfume i have ever smelt. i was shocked it lasts about 12 hours on my skin .

purplepearl

This is a very heavy perfume, it might be nice for those who enjoy those sorts of perfumes. It just has a heavy quality to it that was a bit stuffy to me.

nigh13

It.s very creamy, sexy and long lasting. Smells expensive and borderline edible. No harsh developements. A must buy for those with a sweet tooth.

Freckleface

I like the almond bitterness in the perfume, its deep and sexy.
Very strong scent and this is allso the first perfume my fiancee didnt like, an my sister gagged of it!

The perfume dont suit me, but for the right woman it would be supersexy night time scent!

kristamb

I am glad I purchased a few samples of this one. It is a really nice, feminine scent-- a very cozy vanilla. The coziness of Creed's Sublime Vanilla or of YSL's Cinema, but it comes off as a somewhat "green + oriental" vanilla underneath that cozy softness? Doesn't really remind me of a gourmand, but definitely an oriental--a very soft, sensual oriental fragrance... I would definitely recommend this one to vanilla lovers! However, I don't feel vanilla is the main note in this one (basenotes remind me of an alternate Code scent, but just not vanilla...), but overall, very feminine, soft, and beautiful!

Blushpinkpeonies

Oh my! This perfume is gorgeous and edible! To me Code Satin smells like a decadent chocolate souffle with a hint of orange. The dry down is rich, creamy vanilla cocoa. I like Satin way more than original Code. This is special and unlike any other mainstream releases. Gourmand lovers, you need to sample this! I've been wearing it on repeat since I got my bottle. Longevity is great, I'm impressed by the quality. Thank you Fragrantica for introducing me to this beauty.

ElleBlue

I first wore Tresor when it initially came out, and in the winter, when Black Opium came out, I wore that. So, decades later, and hundreds of different perfumes later, I finally came across this amazing, and absolutely sexual perfume. I have many Armani perfumes, from Si, to Si Dark (Intense), Emporio, and the original Armani Code for Women. This is by far the sexiest perfume I have worn in years. I find Armani Code Satin to be much different than all the other Armani perfumes (which is interesting because all Armani perfumes have the same basic smell, you know Armani when you smell it). I almost gave up on Armani, and I am glad I didn't. The best blind buy I have made in my hundreds of different blind buys I have made so far. Definitely worth it to me, hopefully worth it to many others as well. I have never received so many compliments on my perfume since I started wearing perfume. I would suggest if you can, to at least try a sample.

stephanienelly95

I'm obsessed with this perfume! I get a ton of compliments even from little kids! Now I see why Jeremy fragrance raves about it. It's so dark, sexy and seductive! Someone literally told me in class, "you always smell amazing and it makes you even more attractive "… I love perfumes, this one is high on my list! It lasts for about 10 hours on my clothes and the dry down is even sexier!

Lipglossjunkee

I don't find this exactly like Code Cashmere, but they are definitely sisters!! The ginger+praline+cocoa combo opens up like root beer right from the get go, it's DELICIOUS. It even smells fizzy. It's sweet and almost edible, but never cloying ---the orange blossom, neroli and jasmine give it a depth---a roundness that makes it not like anything else I own. It's definitely part of the Code family, but worth owning even if you have others as it's just delightful.

Christycaxxx

This is my first from the Armani Code Pour Femme line and I love the smell of this beautiful scent. Yummy chocolatey sweet with a nice floral dry down on my skin. Longevity unfortunately lasts no longer than 4 hours max and sillage is soft on me. A very sexy and flirty fragrance to wear on a night out on a town.

Sal Eless

Oh my god!
This perfume is out of this world!
It is not intense yet it truly stands out with elegance.
I have not seen anything so unique & balanced.
I could wear it day or night, it’s elegant yet fun.. it is the perfect combination of everything good. Love!

XxRosexX

Agreed Ms.Olive, the patch reads as oud or something in the try down. Too harsh for me.

Ms.Olive

Had the original code for years, oh yes satin carries code dna right from the beginning, the opening that made me fell in love with GA Code long a go for the first time, warm, cozy, hugging smell, unfortunately the dry down in satin is off putting to me, cocoa is strong here, bitter and somewhat it reminds me of arabic fragrances, not saying it's bad, it just have this middle eastern characteristic to it, this type of scent is in my opinion not for everybody. not a blind buy safe.

AllHalliwellsEve

YUM-O! This is so dreamy, it's my little piece of heaven in a bottle. I crave this gorgeous scent, and will endlessly. This perfume is soft, sweet and sexy with an alluring attention stopper to be asked "what are you wearing!" I LOVE IT! The addition of the praline note in the base gives this fragrance a soft, fluffy, marshmallow-sweetness. Could be worn in the warmer months, but lightly. Better suited for cold weather though. Great to wear anytime of the day.

gasai.yuno2470

Mmmm goddamn I love this!! It’s such a sweet blend of vanilla and chocolate! Guys go crazy for this perfume. I spritz on my wrists, chest, neck, and behind my ears and it lasts 12+ hours on me! Definitely a favorite of mine. So sexy, hot, mysterious, and a very vey good example of the perfect gourmand.

Adiilah

Can we take a moment and appreciate this SOO underrated perfume?

This perfume is THE bomb! It is so sexy, intricate, gourmand, like you want to eat the person wearing this. The dry down is to die for! It smells sooo edible like some delicious creamy dark chocolate.

Whenever I spray this on my wrist I keep smelling it throughout the day and think "I SMELL DELICIOUS"

The other day I wore this perfume out on a date and the whole car was smelling good. My boyfriend could not stop complimenting me on how great it smells and told me to always wear this when we go out =D

It is very appropriate for dates and intimate rendez-vous, just spray this on your neck, chest and behind your ears, you'll make that man go craaazy honey!

I haven't quite smelled anything like this perfume before, so unique in its own way. Will most most definitely repurchase.

Midnight Lady

I'm a huge fan of the original Code, in fact it's my signature, so of course I couldn't miss this flanker.

First of all - it has undeniable original Code DNA - which is a good thing. Plus it has something extra to it.

Opens up with rather sharp ginger that steps aside quite quickly as the scent settles. After the drydown I get probably the most realistic praline note I have ever smelled, cacao seconds to it and it's all covered in creamy vanilla. Somewhere in the background you still get orange blossom with a little bit of jasmine not to make you forget you are wearing Code line.

It's sweet - yet not cloyingly, it's gourmandish yet not typically, it's soft yet still present.

Actually lately I'm trying to learn to like reformulated original Code - it's less creamier than it used to be and a bit more dusty, less sweeter. It's still Code, yeah, but, you know... But smelling Code Satin reminds me the feeling I would get from the original when to me it still smelled somehow like oranges covered in chocolatey/jasmine coat.

So yes, it's a love from me. It's not the same as the original (either before or after reformulation), but it's very close and it smells fantastic.

Sweet, warm, tasty, sexual.

To me 8/10.

Duskfall

One of the best designer offerings for women IMO. Amp up the vanilla in the original Code Femme and replace the honey and orange with cacao and praline. That's Code Satin; a more smooth and explicitly gourmand rendition.

Decent performance (longevity approx. 6-7 hours, moderate-heavyish projection). My only gripe is that on me it gets a little bit sour and metallic in the late drydown, but overall this is really nice.

;)

This is gorgeous. Rich vanilla custard and cocoa blend perfectly with the florals. I don't think it's excessive on the praline or patchouli. I can only take both notes in small doses. Might ask my valentine for this beauty.

Edit: Wish this came in a 3.4 oz. Love! Hope Armani keeps it around.

vanessastannard

I was so excited to try this. I love praline and it all sounded so yummy! Unfortunately, it smells like pure star anise with dust and chocolate. Very masculine. Very strong. I had a test strip of it sitting next to my new samples from Ulta overnight, and now they all smell like Armani Code Satin. It's incredibly strong, it will last, and I absolutely hate it. I love gourmands, but this is not sweet, it's quite spicy and very masculine. Was about to blind buy based on all the inexplicably glowing reviews, but I'm glad I didn't.

blake.lee

I like this fragrance. It's the thick, rich, sensual, warm orange blossom of the original with gourmand notes of powdery chocolate and praline. However, there are two problems with this fragrance for me. First, no one can smell it but me. I feel like I'm enveloped in a dense cloud of fragrance, but other people have to be inches from me to smell it. Second, it sends my 5 year old into a coughing fit as well as a stranger I sat by in a restaurant. I don't know what note is causing this allergic reaction for some. Both my little boy and the stranger said it made them feel as if they could not clear the back of their throats. I had to shower it off for my child's sake. I genuinely enjoy this fragrance and will wear it when I'm alone or won't be in an enclosed space with others. The only other fragrance I've ever had so negatively affect the allergies of those around me is Organza Indecence.

parfumparfan

This was AWFUL upon first spray. Imagine salty, artificial vanillin/alcohol-laden vanilla extract.

However, after it dries it's quite lovely. It's powdery as opposed to gourmand I think. I think Cashmere is the gourmand one here. This one smells like baby powder and LOTS of musk. It's clean, simple and inviting. It's a bit more mature than the others because it's so powdery I think.

It's a suitable night time fragrance and it has about the same lasting power as Cahsmere and the original Code (6 hours). It's very nice if you brave the awful opening. Give it a chance/a sniff. It's interesting as far as designer fragrances go.

mirenaf

Delicious, wonderful, remarkable aroma. I also like it is not so popular and I do not feel it anywhere around me like La vie est belle or Sì.
I love its absolute warmth and the way it stands on my body.

ashes1988

I adore Code Satin. I'm typically not a gourmand fan, but this is so classy and smooth. Code Satin shares the same DNA as cashmere. Yet they're unique enough that I couldn't resist grabbing both and I can't pick a favorite. Sometimes I even spray both on me as they work well together. :) I spray this in my scarf before running out the door to work. When I spray it on the tips of my hair, I can still smell it the next morning. This fragrance is heavenly.

lmwimsatt

I love this. I don't get how it's gourmand

reborn

For me this is Addict+Cinema.Sweeter Addict, thats what it is.And because i adore Addict i love this one too.I have Addict the pre refolmulating version and i keep it and dont touch it ,i will spray this one now liberally. It is gorgeous.Great sillage and cery good lasting power.Extremelly sexy and seductive. The best from all Codes.I had Cashmere,it is ok ,but it has Code in its veins, but Satin has Addict in its veins ,i dont smell Code.I am so happy that i have it

jansiri

This is incredible!I have been on the hunt for a perfume like this for years. Such a delicious, sexy wearable gourmand. Makes me hungry when I smell it.

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

HOLY GRAIL PERFUME. I've been a Burberry girl for so long that it's hard for me to venture elsewhere...but I smelled an insert in an Ulta catalogue and knew I had to have this scent. I am SO glad I purchased it -- I seriously love it SO MUCH, I can't imagine my life without a few spritzes of this, at least a few times a week. I love sweet, sexy, intoxicating scents that make the manliest of men weak, and I know this one will work perfectly for that! This is one of the sweetest grown-up scents I've ever smelled. New love, and a forever love at that.

JenJones28

This was a Jeremy fragrance and Waha Sawas youtube hype fragrance. I was curious about it. Got a friend to give me a decant. It's not good.

It smells like poopy caramel. And it lasts. And lasts. Spray it on and you will be smelling like caramel poop way into tomorrow. Possibly next week.

Friends, don't let friends wear this and think they are sexy. Just don't. Unless they are your frenemy. Then I guess it's ok.

supergirl9412

This is my first time trying anything from the Code line, and I was pleasantly surprised!

The first spray is reminiscent of Dr. Pepper, but that fades quickly to reveal the vanilla and praline base. (These are the notes most noticeable on my skin.)

I have to confess, these kind of sweet vanilla scents aren't my thing. I wish they were my kind of fragrance, but most mix poorly with my body chemistry, and I end up smelling like heavy, cloying sweet smoke. However, I have to give this some credit: it seems really nicely balanced. Sweet but not too sweet, smoky (from the praline?) but not too smoky or heavy.

Average sillage and longevity.

I'm pleased I gave this a chance! If I ever want a vanilla-based perfume in the future, I will likely go for something like this!

missk

Armani Code Satin is a creamy, vanillic interpretation of the original with a touch of gourmand cacao. I find this fragrance to be much sexier than Armani Code for Women, and more my personal cup of tea.

Armani Code Satin is a sensual vanilla scent along the same lines as Dior's Hypnotic Poison, Dior's Addict and Hugo Boss Deep Red. I consider it to be an evening scent or a Winter fragrance due to its heaviness with the creamy and buttery vanilla, cacao, orange blossom and jasmine blend projecting strongly on warm skin.

I would pair this fragrance with a head-turning, figure-hugging red or black dress with some killer high heels. Armani Code Satin screams naughty to me, however it's a fragrance that would appeal to the naughty 30-somethings rather than the teeny-bopper, clubbing types.

Although released in 2015, I still see Armani Code Satin sold in a majority of stores in my area. This causes me to suspect that it is now part of the permanent Giorgio Armani lineup rather than a short-lived flanker. I am keen to test Armani Code Cashmere as well, but that flanker is a tad more elusive.

Armani Code Satin has impressive sillage, clouding oneself in a delicate and creamy vanilla scent for hours on end. I am very impressed by this flanker and urge those that haven't already smelt it to spritz some on when next at the department store.

Bee-young-ka

Ultimate Code VS Satin, They are similar but both have their merits with no flaws I can find.

Satin has traded the coffee note for a very wearable chocolate note, I normally can't wear chocolate notes, and its softer in its manner than Ultimate Code.
Soft enough for close quarters, I proably prefer Ultimate Code because I love this coffee note but I do find Satin is one I'm more happy to wear as a day to day fragrance and will get used more often.

Satin by Day
Ultimate by Night.

Both bottles are Gorge!

Update: reminds me of the way the crinkly layer protecting a fine box of assorted chocolates smells.

Veronica85

One of the warmest and sweetest (in a good way) fragrances I've ever tried ... I adore this flawless fragrance (though I've never been into sweets at all).
(Sweet dreams are made of this :)

SuzanneS

My experience was much like reviewer pravda48.

Lots of wood. An odd praline/cocoa scent in the beginning. I layered it with cashmere and it always gets compliments. Its a very sexy gourmand.

Seducianne

You guys...I just came here to say that I sprayed it twice in my hair in a duty free shop in the airport last week. Washed my hair twice since then, and I can still smell some chocolatey vanilla. This lasts FOREVER in the hair.

ssaminn

This smells lovely! I get the beautiful praline and cocoa and vanilla and white flowers.the smell is very fluid.
BUT it only does for like 2 seconds before it disappears. Well, not 2 seconds but certainly not more that 2 hours. I tested on paper and not on the skin so it might differ based on that... Despite my high hopes, I have to move on. Sigh...

P.S. I re-tested on my skin. It really opens up on the skin and is very beautiful and carefree. I still had big problems with the longevity and the sillage though. I sprayed on my wrist and it projected up to my nose for the first 30 minutes, then wafts of it were still present here and there until the 2-hour mark. after 2 hours it gets very close to the skin and it disappears in the 4th hour. On clothes, you can get a little bit more longevity but it wouldn't project. It just breaks my heart that all these houses are watering down their beautiful fragrances and I have to search forever to find something with at least a decent projection and staying power... :/

tiababy

Mmm I expected to like Code Satin but not this much! It smells like what I've always wanted the original Code to be-softer, sweeter, smoother...love at first sniff!

Daria_21

This is a recent new purchase, and holy potatoes, it is an absolutely stunning, delicious, addictive gourmand. My husband, who rarely comments on my perfumes unless I ask him to, walked by me yesterday and said "that's a really nice one you have on today babe, what is it?" I stopped dead in my tracks, because for him to volunteer a comment tells me it's fantastic!

I'm not very good at picking out individual notes, but to my nose, this is a rich, warm, sweet but not syrupy, delicately spiced, chocolatey cocoa praline cloud. If you're a gourmand lover, there is no doubt in my mind that you'll love this.

It starts off with a bang - upon spraying, projection is moderate to heavy for the first couple of hours, at least on me. I get whiffs of this all day long, and it's incredibly long lasting. I can easily smell this on my wrist the next morning before my shower.

I can't say I love the bottle. It doesn't do much in the way of being pleasing to the eye, but it's functional, and the colour certainly matches the scent.

This is my first Armani fragrance, and I'm so glad I chose this one. The original Code is on my radar as well.

In my opinion, this is a safe blind buy and a sure bet for gourmand lovers. A beautiful fragrance, and one that I'm very happy to have in my collection.

socorrosouza

I find Armani code Satin more masculine than the original because om MY skin all the sweetness is lost and I can feel the original plus bitter cacao and ginger (a spicier, less sweet Armani code original) but lasts 7/8 hours on my skin with moderate sillage. Some people feel a great sweetness, like a chocolate fudge, and a tray of sweet chocolate but I don't. i don't find it too fleeting, on the contrary ON ME it lasts longer than Armani Code original. Sadilady, did you try to spray your clothes? or a paper? Do try and ask a lot of people if they feel it.

ageofsillage

I'm a guy and decided to test this out in the shop today to see what all the hype was coming from Jeremy lol. Right off the bat it reminded me of Midnight in Paris EDT which is marketed to men but which I personally think is unisex. To my untrained nose, it must've been the powdery, sparkling, and creamy vanilla note I was getting off the top that reminded me of MIP. Satin is a captivating scent that will be hard to resist on any woman! You`ll definitely break some necks with this, because they`ll be walking one way but their nose will want to go the other! lol

Sadylady

The first time I smelled this I was in love, I knew I had to have it. It has everything I want in a scent! Warm and cozy with the right spices to heat things up and an almost dirty patchouli the kind I like. I couldn't marry it on the spot because I had on a scent already, so when I was ready and properly scrubbed I went to the store to test it on my skin..oohmygooood I was in heaven!! I put it in my basket and went looking around...15 minute later I lifted my wrist to have another mini orgasm sniff but there was nothing there absolutely nothing I wanted to cry. I even asked a woman walking by what she thought of the scent and she said what scent I smell nothing. I left completely broken hearted. I will try again but not right now, my heart can only take so much pain.

allie kat

I bought this on special offer last year as I have the original Code and find it quite wearable so I thought how bad can it be? I was pleasantly surprised to find I prefer it to the original. So much so that I decided to buy a back up bottle and am well on the way to emptying my first bottle. The original reminds me of freshly dried clothes, it smells fresh and clean to me while Code Satin still smells fresh it's warm, softer and cosier. This is one of my go to scents for cold winter days when I'm snuggled into a cosy jumper.

Missmaassen

does anyone know a fragrance that smells very similar? I smelt this fragrance on a friend and it is amazing. I want it so bad but unfortunately they do not sell it in The Netherlands :( . Whoever does know similar scents could you please send me a private message or leave a comment.

P.S i know quite a few people say it smells like the original code, but i still prefer something else over that as i am not a big fan of the original !

Soofiya

I've always loved original code,I also love chocolate and praline in fragrances so satin was a must-have for me.it was a blind buy and didn't dissapoint
There's a similar gene between original code and code satin so it's easily noticeable that they're family members but there's no honey here.it obtains it's sweetness from cocoa/praline,also it's less flowery and less orangy, although orange isn't listed here I can feel it specially in top notes.my bottle is a tester bottle and it's written on it about notes:jasmin.praline and orange essence...I can detect gingery orangy white florals blending with cocoa chocolate and a fluffy, cream like sweet note that must be sorbet.it's delicious and has more gourmand vibe according to original code.but it's not so foody and chocolatey that put you off if you're not into gouumands,it has code's elegant, feminine and seductive vibe that can attract most oriental floral/vanilla lovers
Longevity is 7-8 hours on my skin and much more on clothes, sillage is moderate to heavy and I can feel it around me even after first hour and this pleases me.it's a cold weather perfume and can be a great for night wear
Among code and code satin I can't which one is better for me,I love them both but first days that I received satin,I preferred original one to this,I felt cacao and praline aren't enough well pronaunced but now I adore it.I tried layering satin with Montale chocolate greedy and once with chocolover and result is devine,so if you'd like to add a more chocolatey/coffee/gourmand kick try it

Sissib7

This scent just kidnapped me. I don't like the original Code which to me smells headache inducingly saccharine. I'm not even sure I like this version. I just crave it and it's chocolatey neroli and vanilla-embrace. Staying power is sensational. Above two days. Even through showers. Fetish material.

mschnabel666

Mmmmmmm... it's like Tresor La Nuit with Alien Essense Absolue. It's delicious and dreamy, without being overbearing. (I find AEA to be my strongest perfume)

I blind bought this one before any other Codes. LJShopping has the big bottle for $48-49.

Gourmands are my thing... sweet sweet gooey syrupy gourmands. I like them thick, vanilla, a bit spicy...

I love this. BUT-- it's missing something to really blow my mind. It's just a pleasant dark musky gourmand. Very subtle and yet delicious.

Now I have the Ultimate Code (for the coffee) and the original EDP is coming. Haha.

PinkRainbow

Very candy-like and attractive. I sense a fruity undertone. Good sillage and beautiful bottle.

Glamazzin869

This smells almost identical to the original. it's just sweeter and doesn't have the honey note it does smell really good. I wear it whenever no matter these season or time of the day. The staying power on the skin is ok. When I want to smell a scent all day I spray on my clothes and in my hair.

mylene_stl

Tried it the other day. It smells so good but to me it is really mature. While wearing it, I went to my office and ask my coworker what they were thinking and they thougt the same thing as me. It reminds me a very gracious lady, very luxurious. I could wear this during a dressy reception, but would probably let it to my aunt.

For The Love of Perfume

MMMMMM.....what an enveloping fragrance. So rich with just a subtleness of spice and a hint of vanilla. So intoxicating. I just love this fragrance. I was shopping one day and this girl came beside me and said that I smelled sooo amazing. This one is a compliment getter!

LLB_addict

What a fantastic and unusual combination of notes! I cannot wait to get my mitts on it!

katemax

I love this... have original code so will try layering it with al rehab choco musk or Madonna naked.....

NightShade6

TM's Alien essence + Madonna's naked + Armani code = Satin

Overall, very much a date night fragrance. It still has that Armani jasmine and pear combination but there is a prominent presence of cacao and vanilla. However, still remains jasmine heavy, at least to my nose.

If you are not a fan of strong and sweet perfumes, stay away from this.

Smell

socorrosouza

On me, there was no praline, no caramel, no vanilla, just a less sweet original Armani Code with an intensive cacao note that, though creamy, was not the in least sweet. Longevity was great, 7 hours with heavy to moderate sillage, after the 7 hours it devolved into a skin scent, this with a tiny drop of ACS on the wrist.

Sophie75

Just fell in love at first sniff! :) This magic fragrance will be my favorite one in winter time and also on a chilly summer! When I use it I suddenly feel a real silky satin scarf around me :) Warm, spicy and alluring!

onimoka

I will be one of those lucky people who actually like this fragrance very much. It starts with stronger vanilla and some chocolate notes. After a few minutes its just very good and creamy ( well balanced) fragrance. Sillage is goos, not "in your face" but just right and its lasting power 8 howers. I know it can be diffrent on different people, but as i sad i am one of those lycky once. I would say that my skin type is a bit oily. Also, it reminds me very much of Iceberg ( after 15 min). But this one is much more softer. I recomend :)
p.s If somethig must be sad about other notes - i do not hear them. Its vanila and chokolate for me. But its the right vanila - soft and delicious.

Southern Blonde

Delicious sweet gingery gourmand fragrance. God I wish I could eat this stuff. It smells so good. First spritz it took a while for me to warm up to it because for some reason the patchouli note was there. However it's not an ugly or weed like patchouli. It's just aromatic and it leads into the more delicious gourmand scents of ginger, chocolate or cacao and praline. It's also got plenty of vanilla. There's also a sorbet which smells milky creamy and very much like ice cream. It's not the kind of gourmand that makes me think of Britney Spears Fantasy however. Very much like a grown up gourmand scent similar to La Vie est Belle but much more gourmand. I think it's heavenly. At times it also reminds me of a more subdued La Nuit Tresor. If you love to inhale gourmand fragrances smell this.

renneyg007

I agree totally with Arlene-Beatrix, this is a messy scent with no direction. I couldnt even bring myself to test it on my skin after smelling it on a test paper. In comparison to armani code edp, they are worlds apart. No idea why its called satin either, as there is nothing smooth or silky about it. A definite no for me.

cstands

Funny! Just formulated my review in my head, and then read craftymaya's review below. Another big POW reminder about the effect of skin chemistry! Am I really reviewing the same perfume??!!
To me, Code Satin opens as a much more intensive, but extremely familiar version of the Original "Code". So much so, that at first I wondered why one would want a flanker so similar? However, it soon becomes apparent that Satin is the very gourmand (and hence only distant relative) version of the original. Strong caramel, vanilla and chocolate notes remind me of Prada Candy, D&G's The One Desire and Victor & Rolf's Bonbon, (all of which I probably prefer over Satin). There is a hint of jasmine to give a slightly fresh edge. And -WOOHOO!!!- not a hint of my nemesis patchouli on my skin!
I like Satin - BUT it's a much more in-your-face powerhouse version of the original (this is the humongous difference between the two), and very gourmand (oh-so-scrummy). Much sweeter than I usually prefer, but nonetheless elegant and sophisticated. Still... the understated magic of the original Code will take a lot more to beat...

craftymaya

Certainly apart from the whole Armani Code line. Far from the original code, it is SUPER strong (even stronger than the Code Ultimate.). The patchouli is overwhelming and takes over all other notes. Make sure you like patchouli before buying this one. I own the original Code, the Couture, the Elixir, the Ultimate, the Summer editions but that one...it's a big NO!

karlee79

Almost exact dupe of oriflame love potion but this is way more smooth and refined not as plastic smelling more mature ..how I wanted love potion to smell I'll be buying this

Arlene-Beatrix

It's very messy, like it had too many notes. Sweetness magnified by ginger makes it quite heavy. There is nothing like satin in it as I relate this fabric to something delicate and ladylike.

Happyme2009

Ok, neroli , fresh cacao fruit, juicy sorbet and praline, drowning in a vanilla custard. It doesn't get much better than this if you aren't looking for niche . Surprisingly delicious, yet somewhat elegant. It isn't cheap, at $109+tax for 75 ml and it doesn't smell cheap.... even though looking at the super gourmand notes mixed with some candied white flowers one may believe that. The silage and longevity are average to good . The bottle is rather plain, I would have liked more creativity there . Overall, if you like Gabbana One Desire and Ellie Saab, you will love this. They are in the same family, white floral gourmand. Lovely !

This one is delicious! A mature gourmand that does not smells dated. The sorbet and the praliné are a match made in heaven!
This is what i expected Kenzo L´Elixir to be.
I think this is a good perfume for people who like sweet fragrances but can´t handle the heavy ones. This is very elegant and not too strong (actually, it could have a bit more sillage), just don´t expect any flowers from it. I did not got any. It is just the sorbet and the praliné/cacao. Maybe a bit of ginger and patchouli, but no flowers for me and i am ok with that.
My only complaint is that, for this price tag, they could have made a prettier bottle.
Note: 9/10

I swear I get loads of plum out of this!!!

Since I've had several Q's about this from people in the US trying to find it, I'll add my 2 cents:

It has a strong, almost faux-oud scent out of the bottle, a strong woody harsh sweetness. Don't let that scare you off - it's really not there when you spray it, it's just the rich, heaviness of the sugar and the base notes that need some air to breathe before settling down.

After a few minutes I get the same sweet, thick, white floral (jasmine and orange blossom) almost marshmallowy feel over a hearty patchouli base for warmth that I get from Black Opium, or a similar heavy jasmine as in Mugler's Alien if you haven't smelled Black Opium. It also has that thick sweetness they call 'praline' in Black Opium, Tresor la Nuit & co. Don't know what it actually smells like to me, but certainly the not pralines you eat. Wish they'd find a more appropriate name for that note, lol, but that's beside the point.

I was hoping the drydown would bring out a warm cacao vibe, but not so on me. It stayed pretty much a sweet, warm, dense sugary white floral, BUT it did last overnight the few times I tested it so longevity is certainly there! I put it in the same vein as La Vie est Belle L'absolu with that one's very woody, almost spicy base layered with lots of sweet.

Does it smell like the original? No, not really at all. All they really share is a fluffy white floral. I did not care for the original at all because the citruses went a bit harsh on me. This one's quite different.

I am currently swapping my bottle if you're really itching to get your hands on it in the US, by the way!

@JadedMuse, below: Yes I think if you LOVE LVEB (esp. L'absolu!) and Tresor la Nuit, this is another facet of the same fragrance trend. If you love it so you'd like to have various things like it that share maybe 50% of its DNA, definitely worth looking for!

The praline note is quite strong in this and I don't like smelling of nuts, so I'm not keen. The vanilla is nice when the nuts finally die but not nice enough

Jmalone84

Got a lot of vanilla and jasmine. Couldn't form an accurate impression as only tried briefly. Reminded me of TM Alien, and a bit of Diesel Loverdose (of course without the licorice). Got the distinct impression of warm edible vanilla. I imagine men would find this quite delectable. Like it, don't know if I would buy. Might keep it in mind for the future.

Actually, have just realised, this is along the lines of what I may have been looking for, so I definitely will try it again. Have been looking for a nice edible vanilla with a lush citrus/floral- but haven't been able to find the right balance. Here's hoping...

tommy_girl

balance and complexity in one bottle. even though I always liked armani code bottles and the notes, I never cared for their actual smell, but this one should be the exception. after testing at least 10 perfumes in the store, I realized that this one was the best, now add the fact that I love red long bottles!
in my opinion the most dominant note is orange flower; kind of creamy orange flower mixed with honey and some drops of orange to make it cozy, but hot like a cup of flavored tea. This is exactly what I call sensual. not a typical candy like sweet gourmand perfume, but very classy and even suitable for all occasions and seasons.

Awater01

So soft and dreamy, like chocolate orange blossom creme brulee. This is my favourite of the code range, and I had the original as my signature scent for years. Perfect for cool weather and warm snuggles.

I agree with Juliana6 on Satin, this is so much more than your average gourmand! I'm wearing it today and it feels so unique glamorous and sexy and it lasts for hours no need to touch up here.
Sensual praline and orange blossoms combined in a very captivating fragrance, I hope Satin stays in the regular Armani line or I will have to stock up

Although many people say this perfume is an average sweet, gourmand perfume, which is following trends and just made to grab the success, I'd characterize this perfume as unique, warm spicy, thick, rich and very luxurious.
The first time I tested it, my first impression was sweet, warm and in the same refreshing pepper mixture which quickly grew on me and turned to a thick, black, deep gourmand potion decorated with some fresh white flowers and with a juicy slice of orange. That time I bought Coco Noir by Chanel, but the memories about this perfume kept lingering in my mind. So I couldn't help ordering it. Now I have it and I can describe it more in detail. The "warm, sweet pepper" is actually the ginger which mixes well with a dark, adult, adorable vanilla (this stage reminds me Vanille noire by Yves Rocher), then I feel the teasing scent you can get when opening an exquisite dark chocolate candy box. No eating, just smelling the lid, the box, the sophisticated packaging of those chocolate candies. Some of them are filled with some alcohol for sure, maybe some cacao or coffee liqueur, some of them contain a thick orange marmalade or liquid chocolate. By the way, that spicy ginger note is present, so this perfume is not an average sweet, dull dessert, there's a sharp, spicy edge to keep you warm and a bit naughty. The base is sensual, still warm, spicy, lingering around you, it's very feminine and adult. I guess this will be my perfume for this winter.

it's hard to say if liked or not. top notes are sharp and sugary, didn't like much. the middle notes were like heaven, totally sexy and charming. and middle part lasts very long. i mean, 4+ hours. the base notes? pure chocolate... i smelled like a suffle or chocolate cake until i go to the bad ( took shower, washed my hand cooked meal and it was still on my hand, couldn't believe... ) i don't wan't to smell like a suffle, so i can't wear satin. if you are lookin' for this kind of parfume, i think you'll love it.

LadyPilot you are so right smelling Satin is a beautiful experience!
Satin is so gorgeous I wore it last night in cool weather and got compliments and I was sure I would because it is really a wonderful scent.
Satin is a better version of original Code if you like sweet and refined fragrances the praline note gives satin a smooth and creamy vibe and the orange blossoms and Jasmine provide the floral touch.
Not too complex but so enjoyable and with very good longevity.

LadyPilot

Very shortly - if you love Armani Code, get this one - it is the amplified and sweeter version of Code. Honey notes are not mentioned but the orange blossom/honey vibe persists here.
If you hate Code, you'll hate Code Satin even more! For the same reason mentioned above and because of the sweet, overwhelming cocoa note.
Still, go and test it - it will be an unforgettable experience, no matter what!

lafemmealamode

This smells almost exactly like the last years' Armani Code Ultimate, so if you already have this one, you don't really need the Satin version. The bottle is very nice-true, but I cannot recognize the "satin touch" to it, like some of reviewers describe it here, neither I can smell the praline (but perhaps this is just my body chemistry). Overall, if you are looking for a fall/winter flanker to the original version (which is still unbeatable in my eyes!) I'd always prefer Ultimate since it's more long lasting, complex and dense (this is probably due to the coffee note in the heart). I also prefer the orange in the opening of the Ultimate instead of the pear in Satin- the bitter note makes the Ultimte a bit more lively and eyecatching, like "hello I'm here and it's all about me", which Satin definitely lacks. That's perhaps why Satin may appear a bit like a vanilla-loaded synthetic and sweet scent sometimes. Satin was a blind buy for me, if I have known it's just a duller version of Ultimate I'd probably didn't even bother buying it. Yet, still a nice gourmand, almost like a wrapped-blanket-comforting scent, which I am happy to own- just one that I won't be repurchasing ;)

Musky4

I've just tried this today and definitely prefer it to the original Armani Code, but that's about it. It's pleasant enough, but nothing particularly new or special. For me it isn't interesting or memorable enough, just 'nice'.

louisminaj

Beautiful! Smelled today in the airport and it has a very gourmand vaniilla smell! Smells a bit similar to Hypnotic Poison, but a lot more approachable! Absolutely divine! Definitely going to get a bottle!

katemax

I have the original code but tried this and its heaven! Warm chocolate vanilla that lasts ages on my skin.

genny17

Nice, warm, sweet, but also a bit synthetic to my nose, like some Armani code in the past..the overall vibe is gourmand, I detect neroli, , a bit of chocolate, still, it makes me think of a Bath and Body work product!? The quality isn't there for me, if I compare it to Noir exquis, la vie est belle, Armani Si..I think young women will enjoy it though. It is linear, rather thick..just not great in my opinion..

Juicyassrose

Was never a big fan of the original Code... BUT...
First time I smelled this, I asked the person if they were wearing Alien Essence Absolue! When they said "No, Code Satin" I asked them if they were sure!
If I had nuts, this would be driving them... So wierd, I've spelled this on five different people now and all I can smell is the AEA!!
It's only side by side that the praline pops up and reassures that there is a difference. I like it, perhaps not enough to choose it over others that I like more, but I'd keep it if bought for me!

Paula73

I have lots of love for the original Armani Code and this one is right up there with it in my opinion. It is so dreamy, it's like a little piece of heaven in a bottle..

lulu169

this is another exapmle of a modern sweet gourmand for the coming winter like many other houses are producing right now, too (Armani Diamonds Violet with Praline, Lancome La Vie with Praline,..etc etc). really really nice and delicious, very sweet, full of praline and chocolate, the bottle is gorgeos as well. goes straight at my want-to list!

ScarlettX

Very sweet, but spicy at the same time. White flowers add a great fulfilling tone to the composition. I consider it sexy and alluring, just like other fragrances from that line.
A great masterpiece which is suitable for every season and time.

maen

New Satin edition is soo warm and cozy, is a distinguished - unusual mixture of Orange Blossom and soft Praline!.
Has nice lasting power, noticeable enough. Shares notes of regular Code, but has its own personality.
I like it, because is gentle and feminine, gives a cheerful touch.
Great creation.

Mad-Lainey

Why would you write a fictional fragrance review if it has not been released yet??? Why would people come up with all this BS and mislead others!!!

lulu169

glad this doesnt have honey like the original - which is why I dislike the original. so looking foward to try this, seems more on the gourmand site - cant be bad!

Robdonga

I have always appreciated the original Armani Code EDP, and this does not disappoint.

Code Satin is delicious and seductive.
This fragrance takes everything I enjoyed from Code EDP, but the addition of the praline note at the base gives this fragrance a soft, fluffy, marshmallow-sweetness.

Great longevity, so far. Moderate to heavy sillage for the first few hours of wear.

The fruity freshness in the top-notes of this composition lend themselves towards all-season wear.
The warm and sweet notes in the base of this fragrance, however, would make this perfect for a night out.

If you love the original composition, or are partial to oriental/gourmand scents, I'd recommend trying it!
