Organza by Givenchy is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Organza was launched in 1996. The nose behind this fragrance is Sophie Labbe. Top notes are Nutmeg, Gardenia, African Orange Flower, Green Notes and Bergamot; middle notes are Tuberose, Jasmine, Honeysuckle, Iris, Peony and Mace; base notes are Vanilla, Amber, Woodsy Notes, Guaiac Wood and Virginia Cedar.

Organza is a magical mix of classical sensuality, delicacy and warmth, a hymn to eternal beauty possessed by every woman. An attractive bottle designed by Serge Manseau is the embodiment of virtues of this fragrance, which is oriental-floral, warm and sweet. It is composed of intoxicating notes of opulent white flowers: gardenia, tuberose and jasmine. The combination is incredibly exciting; soft vanilla in the base tames the voluptuous luxuriance of the floral heart.

I have always loved Organza & never without a bottle of the eau de parfum, the last bottle purchased has a batch code of 9E01 denoting 2019? after spraying I detect a fleeting nail polish remover note (acetone) followed with a protracted drydown of predominately jasmine, I'm picking up synthetic jasmin or a mix of oils, not sure also the newer batches aren't as musky as older iterations, just my sense of the contents of this bottle, may be it's from 10 years before making this a 2009 offering, it's hard to tell, did I mention JASMINE????? would luv to try the pure parfum...

perfumejunkie90s

Smells like a VERY rich sexy grandma who lives in a Beverly Hills mansion, in a good way!!, very mature, powdery, woody, old fashioned white floral fragrance, and also gives me 60s Marilyn Monroe, Priscilla Presley vibes, definitely a night out scent to go to a very fancy dinner, not really for every day wear, feel like this would be great for women who are 50+, not that that's a bad thing. Also reminds me of chanel no 5 a bit, Chanel no 5 is ALOT more stronger and 20 times more powdery though, like an upgraded version and even older version of organza

lmnsvgz

Very elegant white floral. If your mother is in her 50s or 60s you have probably smelled it on her or her friends - the DNA of Organza is very popular. I like it but it smells a bit too retro.

TheDecantingWitch

When I really dug into where my love of perfume came from, I remember this perfume sitting on my mother's shelf. She would spray her chiffon scarf with the scent. I was obsessed with the bottle and smell when I was a child. It still smells so sophisticated and feminine. A classic perfume.

Blueberries

So. Good.
Review for vintage. Iris forward with addictive nutmeg, gardenia and rich vanilla. A hint of woods and clean, white musk add airiness and soft soapiness. There's a mild animalic sweetness, balancing the slightly bitter-green white florals.
Floral and animalic à la 80:s in a kitschy 90:s design, Organza is still timeless.

Bangabanga

There’s nutmeg, and then there is NUTMEG. This is not the dash of nutmeg that makes creamed spinach sing. This is a pastry nutmeg that says HOLIDAY to me.

Organza demands attention and is not a casual wear. It’s absolutely gorgeous, but I find I have to be in the mood for it. It manages to be elegant and cozy at the same time. I love gardenia and this is possibly my favorite non-soliflore deployment of it. A delicate dab of the splash is much more enjoyable to me than a spray, which can create an unwieldy blast radius.

Perfect for a holiday cocktail party or as a mood booster. I would love to smell this on a confident man — I bet it would be IMPRESSIVE.

Edited to add — IMO the bottle is off-puttingly cheesy. The perfume and bottle do not match, at all.

Venusia

A wonderful creation: white florals (more gardenia to me) in a spicy slightly soapy ambery base, not too sweet and with an elegant nutty touch. I usually do not like shaped bottles but this one is probably the only one I don't find kitschy. I have bought a new 100ml to a more than reasonable price a few days ago, so it is not discontinued. Timeless beauty

Should have been named ORGASMA. Love it. ❤️

This is a strange one. I had this a billion years ago and remembered l liked it and had forgotten the smell but always loved the bottle and the height of it.
I purchased a 100mls of the EDP recently on the sale for £50 so it was one of those " it would be rude not to" situations.
The first stage impression of it, l dont like it, to me it has a weird urine-y alcohol smell, then l get a whiff of something that smells like that Greek drink Ouzo that has a unique spice of some kind smell, anise l think the spice is called, it smells like the morning after a party when the leftover dregs of the ouzo in the glasses are filling the room with its pungent smell, its horrid, or maybe its the nutmeg, bergamot and tuberose blending, l hate to think its the gardenia upsetting me because l love gardenia but the blending of the three notes is semi offensive, but the middle stage takes over and its becoming really quite lovely. Its softening up, that smell is fading away and the flowers and soapy powdery personality of the fragrance is pushing through and providing an opening to the vanilla, (but not crazy amounts of vanilla) and musk, oriental, woody smells its gorgeous. A grown lady fragrance not for the young, first time perfumers. l would say 37+ its a sophisticated ever changing fragrance, give it time to get through the first off putting notes that's not how it actually projects through all its stages, after a couple of hours it settles into a warm good quality clean vanilla, its a good bit of juice im going to lay off this one for 5 years and let it sit and mature, and l feel it will become a favourite, but im not quite there yet. I give this a 8/10.

This absolutely smells like a small oriental boutique for antiques and other treasures that you would find in the back-alley of some foreign country. I feel like they all smell the same and that smell is exactly this perfume. I don't actually like the scent but the memory association is positive which makes it okay for me.

Saveria

Organza, this timeless masterpiece! This sensual and captivating creation!

I say this often when I write an “old school” perfume review; wait for all the notes to appear otherwise you will miss out on many wonders...

Here, we have a fragrance totally imbued with sensuality, a symphony of spicy flowers enhanced by a woody, oriental side, and sprinkled with delicate vanilla. Some will say that it is the perfume of an assertive woman, perhaps even of a femme fatale and that is true.

Organza is a warm and strong fragrance but which remains soft and feminine. A gem !

I find the bottle sublime; I like bottles that are out of the ordinary and have their own originality. Just like the divine scents that the perfume leaves behind, it is immediately recognizable, no need to read its name, it is already on your lips...

Klimsangina

Rich smell, well blended composition, wear it and be yourself.

wondervalley666

Well this was unexpected… I picked up a 1/2 oz mini that I assume was vintage. I went on a vintage blind buying spree since I love all things vintage. I also find so many unappreciated gems in vintage scents and think they’re much more “modern” and wearable than some reviewers do. Organza is definitely a vintage scent I feel is totally wearable and quite lovely.

But really, fragrantica, nowhere in the reminds me of section is Classique listed? It feels like there’s an anti-Gaultier sentiment on fragrantica sometimes. The moment I sprayed this, I thought, “wait, Classique??!!?” It opens about 95% the same, all vintage white flowers and anise. I see there’s no anise note listed for Organza… how??? I suppose it’s the nutmeg, but wow smells just like anise to me until the drydown, where the anise fades/transforms more into a nutmeg I recognize. I absolutely love Classique and it’s one of my all time favorite scents. I can tell Organza is different, but honestly they are very similar. Classique continues to smell of anise to me throughout the drydown while that space in organza is occupied by a different slightly warmer nuttier bitter nutmeg note. In my opinion, Classique feel a bit fresher and all-seasons and Organza is has a bit more of a fall/winter vibe. I love the anise note in Classique, which persists through the life of the scent. I think it may be my favorite part. I know some people don’t like anise, so this would probably be a better pick for them. They could be flankers of the same scent though! I’d recommend trying one if you like the other, but it may be redundant to own both unless these are your favorite types of scents and wear them all the time.

I hear/see this scent being called a vanilla scent, but it is more of a spicy floral to me. It’s a “90s vanilla” meaning it is nowhere near as sweet as any vanilla scent that’s been popular for the past decade, but back in the 90s, these were the “sweet ultra femme perfumes.” Nowadays, I’d say this is a perfume for a well put-together adult. Not a child, not a grandma, and not a sloppy person. It’s an all seasons classic fragrance that can be worn to work, running errands, attending a PTA meeting, hosting a dinner party, going for dinner with the parents, having a date night, brunch with the girls, really anything as long as you don’t overspray. It can be fancy perfume or casual, depends on your taste. I don’t know for certain what formulation I’m testing. It isn’t LOUD or obnoxious, but it’s strong and long lasting! As with all white florals, if you’re sensitive to indoles you may want to test first.

It’s really lovely and I can’t wait to wear it more.

This is not my first review of Organza, but this is the first review since my mind changed about it.

One of the best big white florals there is, but it took me close to 30 years to fully love it (and ive always loved white florals)

I tried it decades ago, when it was new, at Macy's, but i much preferred Amarige at that time.

The vanilla in Organza really threw me off. I find vanilla to be a cheap trick … too easy… and boring.

But… Sometimes you have to smell a perfume on someone else to realize how gorgeous it is.

I have “liked” this but did not totally love it, until I put it on my mother and smelled it on her…. hours after she applied it.

I am not a big believer in “skin chemistry” dramatically changing perfumes from person to person. I just think smelling a perfume in the air versus smelling it too close to one’s own skin can give dramatically different impressions.
You can be too close to a perfume to get a proper perspective on it.

My mother walking past me wearing organza smelled like dreamy, creamy, buttery … almost narcotic… heaven. Just GORGEOUS. The ultimate white floral I’ve been searching for.

It was a weird moment for me, because it made me think I had wasted so much money trying to find the perfect strong creamy white floral, when I had Organza in my collection all along.

So ive been wearing this A LOT this past week and just fully loving it, finally. Head over heels.

This is one reason ive learned to not sell or give away my blind buys. Because i love the surprise of retrying perfumes i previously thought were “meh” and discovering a new appreciation for them… sometimes years later.

One of the biggest pluses to it is that the vintage version REALLY LASTS (and REALLY projects). One of the longest lasting, biggest silage, and longest projectors in my collection.

This is an all seasons perfume for me. The tropical white florals work brilliantly in summer and you dont need much at all.

It also works perfectly well in fall, winter, and spring.

I stashed 2 vintages in my closest, and i feel extremely fortunate to own them.

Disclaimer: Reviewing the current version.

Very realistic white floral. It has everything that real blossoms have. Some subtle creaminess, some mentholated side, some sweetness, something milky-lactonic, something dewy, crisp. It truly smells like the real blooms in the nature, there is even something slightly unpleasant, rubbery, as it is part of white florals and their magic. But everything in such subtle moderation. So so well balanced, I don't think anything comes close to this realism, and, it seems, I smelled a lot of white florals already. I didn't quite catch the initial phase, but I am describing the current version of Organza worn for one hour. The dry down is still the same lush, creamy, floraly sweet (think, ylang-ylang soft sweetness, not sugar, jam, honey, vanilla) bloom. It smells like natural star jasmines to me, but very close is gardenia. Tuberose and orange blossom are hiding, only perfecting the composition. The showstoppers of Organza are jasmine and gardenia. Perfect summer perfume for white floral lovers. Brava, Sophie Labbé!
Update: Next day - this is just unbelievably gorgeous, it stays perfectly dewy, natural, like an alive flower throughout, doesn't go to that opulent, too thick white floral territory.

Mon Dieu !!!

Bought a vintage miniature, juice is amber colour. Its very sweet on my skin, and it does have a headachey note, but luckily it's easy to put just a little dab on the wrists so it's not being overpowering. Very warm, a bit creamy, smells very colour orange.

stella197

So beautiful, creamy, feminine. Unfortunately has a headache note. There is something so "strong" about the way this projects, it hurts my head. Bummer, because I love it otherwise.

Heliotrope72

Rating: 🤨🧐
Do I like it: Meh
Who it is: a rich poet that often attends the opera house and enjoys collecting oddly-coloured plates
Smells I get: white florals, nutmeg, spice, dust
Meyer's Briggs type: ENFP, ESTJ

This is an odd one, since unlike most here, it appears that on my skin it translates to an oriental spicebomb. Some tuberose, no gardenia, little to no sweetness. Probably smelling the nutmeg. 🥜

I owned an old 5ml and used it in it's entirety, but I found it to be a sexy, spicy 80s oriental with a bombastic projection. No sweetness. I doubt I'll repurchase it, but if you're into spices, get yourself a vintage as they appear to be way more potent. 🔥

My skin tends to amplify spicier notes to the point where people around me seem to hate it, so take that as you will. 😢

In conclusion, I really wanted to love this, especially given how beautiful the bottle is, but I suppose the empty bottle will have to remain decorative for the future.

massimilianoinquieto

OTA Mom

Monster tuberose and nutmeg. Takes the right person to pull this off, too much for me.

Eugenia A

Bought vintage bottle by accident. I really liked modern version - soft, elegant, floral, tested it in store and wore it a few times. I thought I have finally found floral scent that I liked. One day i saw somebody selling a full bottle for ridiculous price and I bought it. What did I get? Apparently 2002 version of Organza in a frosted bottle with crackled cap is a bioweapon that I absolutely cant wear, even though I've tried - many times! It is sweet and thick and feels dated, though I do have a few vintage scents in my collection that I love, this one is an absolute no for me. It makes me nauseaus from the sweetness and it feels heavy even in winter. It does smell like Organza Ive tried in store but on steroids. The juice in my bottle is dark ambery color, that should have been a warning, but i did not think.

Idk what to do with it now. Maybe one day I will love it, but for now off it goes to the deepest corner of my closet.

Aeiris81

Still beautiful and very feminine although not exactly the powerhouse I remember from my college years. Organza has a warm, cozy and slightly spicy presence which makes it a perfect wear during these last golden days of autumn.

Scentfrommanna

Aw it’s such a shame, I love the dry down on this, so creamy and spicy and sophisticated. But the opening is just too indolic on me. I had the same problem with Perris Monte Carlo Jasmine de Pays, it smelt horrendous on me, my skin chemistry can sometimes turn Jasmine so rotten on me.

Beautiful and classic perfume for me. Can see why it could be perceived as a cousin of Boudoir, which I adore. Nebras is a fairly good dupe but a little sweeter and brighter than this.

Mystères du Château de Dé

I have an old bottle of EDP. The juice is deep orange red, about the tone of maple syrup. My version delivers the nectary aspects of white flowers. It's almost fruity despite there being no fruit. Again, my bottle is old and fully mature although there isn't a single off note. A sweet, juicy nectary oriental and not feminine. It is not to my taste a fragrance for mature women rather an easy to like, almost gourmand perfume for fun-loving, young at heart people. It's not complex. It's simply delicious and rich. I have no idea what is in the new bottles. A contemporary fragrance that is in the ball park of vintage Organza is Nomade.

Also I could imagine that a skillful budget FRENCH house, such as La Rive, or the really commercial celebrity brands, might luck out to successfully blend a fragrance that smells like my old bottle of macerated and evaporated Organza smells in 2023. OK maybe I am too generous.

The THREE noses responsible are Sophia Grojsman, Nathalie Lorson, and Sophie Labbe. I can see the Sophia Grojsman. Lorson surprises me but why not.

Reverie78

Two words, soft and delicate. I like it a lot. A very seductive floral, elegant and sophisticated. The bottle is also very elegant. I think it's appropriate for fall and and spring. It's not very heavy so it's not suitable for winter. I was wanting for a long time and i finally got it. My first givenchy! The nutmeg gives to it a note of east but it's not very distinct. My first givenchy! My precious it's so pretty!!! :)

Ambrenuit

MAGICAL!!! HEAVENLY!!! FEMININITY AND CLASS IN THE BOTTLE! I have been postponing this review, because I wanted to find the right words to describe this miracle...
and I feel, that i still can not do the appropriate tribute to the most beautiful fragrance for women in this world!
So I will just emotionally give names, that come to my mind regarding this perfume: feminine, sensual, seductive,
elegant, sophisticated, tender, attractive, charming, pompous, luscious, luxurious, bombastic, powerful, unique, opulent, exclusive, one in a million. I don't want to use expression sexy, although this perfume is like a magnet. Sexy in this fragrance is not cheap sexy, Organza is sophisticated, elegant, grown up woman.
Organza is the embodiment of godess, Fairy Queen, White witch, Queen of Wonderland, Queen Cleopatra, old hollywood glamour movie star.
The first few minutes after spraying are literally overpowing. This is such a power bomb that it needs an hour to calm down into its beautiful, magical, charming, intoxicating symphony of white flowers - creamy gardenia, charming tuberose, beautiful jasmine, peony and bergamot on the base of spicy nutmeg, beautifully prominent walnut, amber and woods, sweetened and softened by the veil of sweet vanilla.
Organza is sweet, floral, spicy and woody, slightly green. It's a special occasion perfume, best in cooler weather.
This fragrance has no equal in the world of perfumes! It is almost forgotten and very overlooked, yet it is a masterpiece that should be on a pedestal.
I first sniffed Organza in university, when one of my roomates used to spray herself with her mother´s Organza, and I remember, that I thought, that once, in the future, when I will earn regular salary, this is on my shopping list. But time passed by, life happened, since that time milllion new fragrances has been introduced and I forgotten completely. Then, 25 years later on a perfume shopping spree, I blind ordered Organza. I had very, very distant memory, that it was something I liked once, very long time ago. And BINGO! It is even more beautiful, as I remember. Much more beautiful! Needless to say, my nose is more refined today and I can appreciate fragrances from different perspective. I have to say, that I have both vintage version, and new reformulated version. It's a real shame that Givenchy messed up the original formula, because the bottle and original perfume is a masterpiece.
I will probably add to this review, because I still think that my emotions about Organza has not been expressed for more than 20%. It is so majestic!

Salkavalka

Testing Organza for the first time. I blind bought it because of so many worshipping reviews and because I love woody notes and am curious about the nutmeg. But now I'm baffled. What I'm surprised about is, I've known this scent all along. I've smelled this many times before, on many women. It's the strong, perfumey, "going out" scent that used to be all around in pubs, night clubs, on cruise ships and such in the late 1990's and early 00's. Funny I never knew its name. I guess I've never cared for it.

By the way, there's something in the late drydown that reminds me of another Sophie Labbe creation, Boss Woman.

D0LLFACE

Oh my Lord where have you been all my life? A creamy gardenia. I’m dying. This is so beautiful and feminine. Think Jean Harlow or Billie Holiday with the gardenia in her hair. Only glamorous women need apply. Could very well be a signature.

Nina1999

Glamorous and mature, I can feel the 90s-early 2000s influence in it. I'd say this is for older women.

HoneysuckleKiss

A potent and long-lasting (lasted about 10 hours on me!) concoction of tuberose, gardenia, nutmeg, vanilla, amber and especially honeysuckle that lasts for ages on the skin! Organza is simply a 1990s classic fragrance and something I think that every woman needs in her fragrance wardrobe. I feel so womanly, successful and powerful when I wear a sensuous veil of this heavenly liquid from the gods. I want every other woman to experience that feeling too! It is a very classy fragrance.

I have never been without this perfume since the 90's in high school and I don't plan to do so anytime soon. Simply stunning and why I'd give this perfume a perfect 5/5 stars :)

Miss boudoir

Organza was created by Sophia Grojsman in 1996 according to a tribute video I saw.

Have a wonderful happy day people 😊

raiza1990

Really beautiful. Now i understand why it’s a classic. It’s a lush and sensual ambery floral, the kind that is not produced anymore. It’s old school in a good way. Elegant and a bit glamorous. This is great for those who like creamy and sweet white florals, but it may be too strong for some.

herculano

I have a big vintage bottle, and I am glad to have it and I do wear it… it’s good in all weather (maybe even best in summer, contrary to popular opinion) …BUT…

It’s bordering on love hate.

I dearly wish the gardenia was amped up, and the vanilla was dialed WAY DOWN.

There’s just so much vanilla here, and in my opinion it detracts from the florals.

It COVERS them almost completely. Like brown tinted sunglasses glued to your face, making it impossible to see the real color and beauty of a flower.

Gardenia is such a beautiful creamy flower and I feel the vanilla destroys the gardenia. It’s SUCH a shame.

That being said, I have been complimented many times on this, in part, I think, because it simply projects and lasts for ages, and it’s pleasant to smell.

I also suspect that the florals project through the vanilla in the silage more than maybe I am aware. I hope so.

If you hate vanilla, I would definitely think twice about blind buying this.

But all this being said, sometimes this perfume hits the spot for me like no other, the gardenia shines, and the lasting power and projection are simply unbeatable. I love it on those days.

I consider this is a floral for gourmand lovers.

GastonThem

I bought a bottle just three days ago and now it has been discontinued from the official website.

The latest reformulation is so powerful, it has an impeccable opening.

Actorfellow

My review is of the vintage formula. This is a very powerful fragrance! For me I get strong powdery nutmeg, orange blossom, and a very green tuberose smell. It smells very opulent, rich and mature. Although people say it smells ‘feminine’ there is something about it that has a heavy masculine quality to it. It has a warm quality when it radiates. The projection and longevity is massive for the original formula.
This perfume stains clothing a pink/peach so spray at a good distance. The bottle is iconic!

perfume_angel

I haven’t had the privilege to smell the old/original formulation, so this is my review for the current one.

When I first smelled this, I was immediately inlove. It’s absolutely gorgeous! They don’t create perfumes like this anymore, so it stands out from the crowd. In saying so, it has a beautiful warmth and complexity that are only found in vintage perfumes.✨

At first spray, it is a very warm and deep and spicy tuberose. I definitely smell a rich tuberose mixed with nutmeg and amber. A few minutes later, the vanilla starts to come through. It is not an edible or overly sweet vanilla, but a classy and deep one. This fragrance overall is not too sweet at all, but it’s very enjoyable. Once it completely dries down, I get a creamy tuberose with a warm vanilla base.

Also, this smells very expensive and classy! Love love love !

The longevity is very good on this one, and the sillage is also good but not enormous. Overall if you love tuberose in your fragrances then you MUST test organza out. 10/10

mirrorghost

glad i am finally trying this...i found a mini vintage bottle. it opens with a slight nuttiness from the nutmeg, woody notes and white florals...i think orange blossom and gardenia. i get more jasmine and vanilla as time goes on, then a lot of iris. a sheer slightly nutty white floral overall. it gets more and more gorgeous as it dries down. so elegant and very pretty! i think i need more of this.

MakeupNeverSleeps

To preface, the batch I have is from 2022. If I were to compare/contrast against other scents, I would liken this to a blend between Tom Ford Lys Fume and Lancome Poeme. TF Lys Fume in the way of nutmeg plus white floral (and the realism and softness the nutmeg gives the flower) and Lancome Poeme in the way that it has a similar and characteristically '90s template, though it lacks the bombastic mimosa-orange flower combo and slight youthfulness/playfulness of the fruit. Compared to the modern batch of Poeme I have, Organza is significantly less potent, lasting about 2 hours before it's nearly undetectable, whereas Poeme lasts around 5 hours before it starts dying down. Poeme used to be so strong and engulfing in the '90s, that I was overwhelmed by it. As such, the toned down modern version registers to me as an improvement. I don't remember smelling Organza in the '90s, so I have no idea as to if this recent formulation is a gutted shadow of what it once was, or if my batch is bogus, or if I'm parosmic to it or what. Regardless, I think it's very elegant, non-synthetic and classic.

I enjoy the opening, the exhilarating green jasmine is what I focus on, and I willingly swoon under the emphatic wave of gardenia. I like the nutt(meg)iness. Something is not right though. It might just be that the tuberose is too buttery-tangy for me. Cloyingly powder sweet, like a residue. Will try again in winter. Current formula.
I can see the resemblance to Al-Rehab Nebras. Nebras, while having some very intriguing attributes, also bothers me with this same untidy residue of a sugary snack. I haven't had the good luck to try Boudoir Vivienne Westwood, so I can't comment on that.

lady_ireth264

This is another perfume that smells better on my mom than me.
I'm not saying this is old or dated, just better chemistry with my mom.
And on her, this is extremely divine. Elegant, feminine, mature, a perfume for a goddess.
Not sexy or flirty but womanly if you know what I mean.
The opening notes are the allure for my nose. Gardenia, one of my fave flowers married gracefully with green notes that're intense but fresh, not like the decaying leaves I get from Chanel 19, sorry to say.
The green here is that of spring, enveloping gardenia and then you have that magical pinch of nutmeg.
I swear it smells like pistachio gardenia, amazing nutty flowery green.
It is unique.
And then the white flowers become more opulent and dry down elegantly too in ambery vanilla.
It has moderate longevity but great sillage. I can smell it from 2m away.
And I always compliment my mom whenever she wears this.
Another win from Givenchy!

I recently scored a full vintage mini for $6 at an antique shop. I snatched it up right away because Organza has been on my wishlist to test for so long. However it can’t be just me… and I’d never thought in a million years I’d say this but, I smell hints of Vivienne Westwood Boudoir.!!!! Anyone else? But instead the opening is green. I’m super loyal to a Boudoir and continue to collect bottles whenever I can score them for a decent price, so I know the perfume as intimately as one possibly can. That animalic post coitus scent is very similar to Boudoir in the opening in Organza (perhaps it’s the “green notes” listed here) . It’s a touch more on the gentler side though. Not as dirty *wink wink* but it’s still there. This isn’t a safe shy girl next door floral fragrance to me. Anything but. This is a sexy mature confident womanly floral beauty. There is warmth, depth, and rich texture here. Just like Boudoir it’s slightly sweet, spice but nothing nice about it. I see the Nebras reference in the “reminds me of” section and I have to disagree. Nebras is pure bubblegum sweet, no spice, all nice florals, and definitely has no animalic features to it. Pure floral bubblegum and zero depth. For those of you missing VW Boudoir, Organza can be a wonderful alternative and perhaps even sister or cousin, giving warm honey, vanilla & spice layered over dirty sexy florals grounded by soft woods in the drydown. I know that Organza came out 2 years prior to Boudoir. And that Vivienne Westwood was working on Boudoir for 10 years prior to its release, however…
I can’t help but wonder if Vivienne Westwood took some slight inspiration from it while creating Boudoir? Side by side Organza is giving me the everything in moderation option, while Boudoir would be the exuberant over indulgent Queen! I love them both!

Artemisa1968

I got a bottle in 2002 and that's heavenly delicious, then it was discontinued and now is back, so I got a new bottle (same design) and its nothing like the original ones the new one is generic, nothing special last a quite amount of time but is not even close as beautiful as the original one, they killed the formula.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

This perfume is incredibly beautiful, just like the lovely, elegant, sinuous and graceful Grecian lady bottle that it's in. I feel like a beautiful high priestess at a Grecian temple when I'm wearing this!

The opening nutty and slightly spicy nutmeg is a real treat to the senses and it doesn't overwhelm my nose. It adds an extra facet to this lovely slightly Oriental white floral perfume. I then smell the gardenia and African Orange Flower in the top notes, giving it a lovely creaminess with a slight zing. The other notes at the top don't come through to me.

The heart notes are then all about the tuberose, honeysuckle and mace to me. The honeysuckle (the strongest note in this perfume for me) gives it that sweetness, the mace gives it that slightly spicy tinge that is similar but softer than nutmeg and the tuberose makes this a big and bombastic white floral. The tuberose doesn't overtake the other notes, but it's definitely the most prominent here. I don't smell the other notes in the heart, meaning it's probably just blended very well.

Finally, I can smell the vanilla, the amber and the guaiac wood at the base all melding perfectly together, creating a beautiful, warm, cozy and slightly sweet vanillic base, without things going into awful gourmand sugar cookie territory. It's not super spicy or fruity either. It is classic, grown-up and beautiful smelling. No old lady vibes here too.

This perfume has a fairly large and strong projection and it lasts about 10 hours on my skin. I could imagine it being especially appropriate for going on dinner dates, going to galas, going to the theater or any other nighttime events. Especially if I could have that gorgeous long, white organza dress that Yasmeen Ghauri is wearing in the advert, looking like a beautiful Grecian queen. (I'm so getting a skilled seamstress to remake that dress for me, so I can wear it while wearing this perfume!)

It's a very sexy, bombastic, sensual, feminine and va va voom perfume that I could imagine someone like Raquel Welch or Sophia Loren wearing. Absolutely stunning composition and I highly recommend this to everyone, especially to those who want something that smells like nothing else on the market right now and is unique. 9/10!

risarii

I scored a small bottle of (allegedly) vintage Organza and wow it’s gorgeous. It smells very much 1990s is the best way possible. I’m in my 29s and would wear this on dates.
The dry down reminds me of JPG Classique

DariaFrancesca74

Organza by Givenchy is a masterful creation from 1996 by Sophie Labbé. I was lucky enough to find a magnificent bottle in a perfume shop in Rome which I jealously keep in my personal collection. Organza is an enchanting riot of white flowers among which emerge victorious: gardenia and tuberose accompanied by the freshest floral citrus notes of African orange blossom and the sour notes of bergamot, surprisingly immersed in a lively and unexpected cloud of nutmeg. The blend is strengthened on dry down with its enveloping woody notes, suffused with sweet but not gourmand vanilla, with sensual amber notes that give a grandiose creamy and powdery aftertaste of great charm. Amazing fragrance.

suzanne_ronald

The name may refer to a sheer fabric, but this scent is a thick OOZE of SENSUALITY with honeyed & spicy white-florals. Multi-faceted GARDENIA is the show opener here, presented in an enhancing white floral burst with nutmeg, orange-blossom and green nuances. I'm not usually a fan of gardenia, and can easily dislike a scent with too much gardenia, but the soft mushroom nuances of gardenia aren't off-putting here, as can sometimes be the case, but elevate the bouquet. The opening melds into a white-floral heart of TUBEROSE-JASMINE with velvety, powdery, honey, peppery & licorice-y nuances, all resting on a vanillic amber-woody base. I'm treasuring the last third of my vintage bottle. A little goes a long way. It's a longtime love for me. Enjoy!

Ylang-Ylang

Organza is a perfect mix of florals and vanilla with soft spice and wood accords. It has a grounded quality, but also an ethereal touch that strives towards the skies. It combines strength with delicacy, directness with subtlety. Wearing it enhances my well-being and confidence - it's the cherry on top of the cake. Golden, soft, sophisticated, warm.
Its timeless beauty and well-blended ingredients have made it a favorite of mine and certainly -the- perfume from Givenchy.

My current bottle is from July 2021 and I can say the scent itself hasn't changed in any significant way compared to older versions. The longevity is good - lasts a good six hours on my skin, before it completely fades; sillage maybe not as strong as it used to be, but I'm fine with it. It's a love story.

galbanumy

Organza is the new love of my life! I don't know why I waited so long to try it, I feel like I've missed out on a world of floral beauty. I can't even pick out all the individual notes, but they all come together to create something magical. And can we talk about the bottle? It's like something out of my 90s dreams, I can't get enough of it. Even though I'm an ordinary girl, every time I wear it I feel like a sophisticated lady. I can see myself wearing it to a fancy dinner or lounging on the couch, I'm not sure I can go back to my old perfumes.

Lovaloo

The first few times I tested it, I disliked the dense vanilla sweetness. However Givenchy Organza has grown on me considerably since I first received my decant.

An enveloping cloud of soft spices accompanied by a bouquet of thick, carnal tuberose, jasmine, and orange flower. The base is a deep, savory vanilla note with soft amber and subtle woody touches. This perfume is a bit heady and sweet for my taste so I cannot wear it often, but it smells sophisticated, decadent, and unapologetically feminine. Absolutely gorgeous in the cold weather, it surrounds me in a cloak of much needed warmth.

I disagree with a lot of these reviews, I do not think it smells old fashioned in the slightest. I'd be inclined to say Organza is a superior alternative to many designer/niche releases I've tried. This is essentially a more realistic and refined version of modern white floral releases like Armani My Way or Givenchy L'Interdit... half the calories, with better texture and longevity as well. Givenchy still manufactures this scent for a reason. They could probably repackage this perfume, stick it in the exclusive collection, charge $250 a pop, and people would be none the wiser.

It's luxurious, classy, and smells far more expensive than it is. A true 'rich auntie' perfume. The bottle looks incredible too, it reminds me of ancient Venus sculptures.

lady_ireth264

Another majestic success with Organza by Givenchy!
I adore Amarige, the regal yellow flowers with juicy heady plum. Now Organza wows me with its opulent white flowers.
It gets better and better the longer I smell it.
Reminds me of Crystal Noir. But that one is supported by sandalwood and coconut, Organza is made gorgeous by the nutmeg.
Loving this!

snoopy2

I finally opened my bottle of organza that I bought last fall from fragrance net. It’s in the old packaging but is clearly the new formula.

I get just the slightest hint of nutmeg, a touch of sweetness and lots of soapy florals. It smells nice but not what the notes would suggest to me (I was hoping for more nutmeg and mystery.) Mediocre sillage and longevity. It is different than what is on the market now without smelling dated imo.

Akesuts

I have an old bottle that I reach for every spring. The honeysuckle note is gorgeous. One of my favorite spring perfumes. So well rounded and super strong sillage. The performance is 10/10. Not modern I'd say but a true masterpiece in the world of golden scents

TeacupBreaker

I got this as a gift as a pre-teen and it was one of my first experiences with real, fancy perfume as opposed to body sprays. In hindsight, this is not really a scent suited to a 10 or 11-year-old 😅.

Organza is warm and rich. Oriental. Sweet in the way some spices are. Nutmeg is the most prominent note, and makes for an unusual first impression. I smell a mix of cinnamon, root beer, and licorice. As it wears, the vanilla becomes more prominent and I’m reminded of Hypnotic Poison.

It’s not a bad fragrance at all, and it does have its own distinct personality. At the same time, I don’t see myself reaching for this often. Mainly I like having this around for sentimental reasons.

jswenson

Wow, The tuberose is so intoxicationg.. This perfume emits the smell of sex laced with vanilla.

The sillage and longevity are very decent.

Actorfellow

Beautiful, classy and elegant! Please note I bought a vintage formula. The bottle makes you think the perfume will be overwhelming and feminine, but I find this to be actually mild, timeless and dries rather unisex to me. It has a very green floral opening, the nutmeg to my nose is like a soft cinnamon smell. There is an underlying powdery quality, that stays throughout that feels very rich. In the opening, at first spray I am briefly reminded of Amarige by Givenchy and LouLou by Cacharel due to the kind of Tuberose used, but as it settles the unique qualities start to come out. There is also something about this that hints Pi from Givenchy, but very vaguely. It leads more towards being a simple version of LouLou and the projection on me is moderate. I do see how some people smell a root beer like quality to this, might be only the vintage formulas. Give it time to settle, there's a lot in the opening but I promise it becomes very mild to be honest. Classics are never outdated, only trends are!

FreddyK

This smells like a mature, sophisticated woman. Great scent. It may be a little too mature for today's standards.

d3athtul1ps

One of the most beautiful scents I've ever smelled, an instant favorite. It's deep, rich, and elegant, so lovely and timeless. I think it's more suited towards evening wear, and to my nose the woody nutmeg spiciness makes it best for cold weather, but to me it's too delightful to limit when I wear it honestly, it's great for any time. Good longevity and sillage too, has quickly become a staple in my fragrance collection. I believe I have one of the original vintage, as my bottle has crackles on the lid, but I'm interested in trying the more modern formulations as well, I hope they hold up!

CrazyRussianChick

This is a love for many years, ever since I tried it for a first time in the 90-s. It’s what I always thought Oriental fragrance should smell like: spicy, semi-sweet, with a hint of flowers. Nowadays I prefer niche, but I will always have a room for this gem in my life!

ParfumFrey

I LOVE this perfume. This is for me a perfect scent. Bear in mind the opening notes are quite strong but this comes alive after wearing on skin for an hour or two. The only way I can describe it as smelling of gold. For me it would be a winter fragrance. It’s sophisticated and some may say for mature women but I disagree so don’t be put off!

LSAUG

I knew I loved Organza because I smelled in Ulta years ago when they still sold it, but I didn't buy a bottle. My husband didn't like it and my signatures at that time were YSL Opium and Elizabeth Arden's Red Door. I dabbled in other perfumes here and there but always remained true to my signatures. I've had this perfume in the back of my mind for years and now I have a bottle. Organza is probably one of the prettiest tuberose perfumes ever made. It rivals my beloved Moon Bloom and at a much better price. Heady, voluptuous and still delicate, tender and soft at the same time. Organza opens w/ a blast of slightly camphor greenness, the smell of wet green stems of tuberose and peony that have been crushed under foot. As the fragrance develops, I get tuberose w/ its buttery animalic sensuality. Tuberose is a flower that I never tire of and every time I smell a tuberose perfume done right, I am in heaven. As the perfume goes along it becomes more vintage smelling w/ bouquets of florals. Honeysuckle, peony (peony done right like it is here is a treasure) they shine here w/ their tender girlish charm. Gardenia, tuberose, and jasmine come in w/ cream, white and gold enough to make any floral lover swoon. Subtle spices of nutmeg and mace along w/ a slightly oily walnut make this a beautiful floral perfume to wear in winter. Opulent, womanly, voluptuous, but still delicate and tender. Vintage Glory at its best. I am so glad to finally have a bottle of this beautiful fully feminine fragrance in my collection.

louiee

This must be what nutmeg and gardenia heaven must smell like. Cosy floral woody. Classic and timeless. I used to wear it back in the late 90´ties early 2000 and I thought it was very adult. Organza is like the fabric floating and feminine- sexy and warm. Silage and longevity is excellent. Love to have it back in my collection.

Gyps

Stunning fragrance. Opulent, classy, floraly, powdery, powerful, and just plain gorgeous. I’ll always have a bottle on the back burner, I’d hate to run out.

The Nose Nose

Like a spirt in the night, this one creeps-up on me, softly and gently. From a standard floral opening, the middle and base notes present themselves, as if on cue. I find myself delighted, if not surprised as the fragrances unfold. As with most Orientals, this will develop differently for different women. Test it. I can't wait.

mhubbard1961

I bought this before I understood how to wear different perfumes. Some are one spray, and only for cold weather in the evening, and some are 5 sprays in the spring for work. This fragrance is a Tresor/ LVEB/ Obsession/Alien fusion. It is a fragrance nuclear event. I need to revisit this scent in a small bottle if I can find it.

Anfissa

Smelled it today at the store, as I used to have it now almost 20 years ago. Wow! It’s definitely more of a classic vintage perfume these days. It actually surprised me with how bitter it was on the opening. I guess most modern fragrances are way more sweet and vanilla cream forward. This is rich and elegant but definitely has no sweetness to it. It’s gorgeous and perfect for Fall and winter with its spicy nutty vibe.

Starlight_moon

Such an elegant scent! It opens up a bit sharp and powdery but as the day progresses it becomes more and more woody and soft. I love it. It's complex and unique, and doesn't feel dated at all.
You can wear it in any setting and place; but I do think it performs best in colder weather, since it IS a strong fragrance, it might become suffocating in the heat.
I always find it puzzling when some people say what you can wear or can't to the office/gym/school/etc. A person should wear whatever they want to wear. Organza (or any other perfume) is no exception. You can easily wear it to the office, a party, a movie date - your fragrance is your fragrance and as long as you don't overspray it to the point where it gives people around you migraines, you can wear it wherever and whenever.

LanaDelSlay

Surprised people say it’s soft and feminine. The opening of this perfume is loud and hard to take in. It smells like a bunch of notes mixed together that compete each other so ur first reaction is to cover ur nose. I’d have to go through this opening and see how it dries down but it smells really vintage not modern at all. And really green and animalistic

sitingqueen

One of the most feminine fragrances I have ever experienced. Very refined and elegant. A timeless classic which is not dated. Gardenia and tuberose are predominant and the jasmine and peony add to the delicate initial impression. What raises this fragrance out of the Ho hum floral category are the wood base notes which provide structure. This is a fragrance for romantic encounters. It is so feminine and lovely in its affect that it would be perfect for wearing a soft, full skirted dress, made with the fabric organza.
Sillage and longevity are both moderate. I believe this is a safe blind buy and office appropriate.

Krem4e363

Загадъчен парфюм от 90те.Поредния хубав продукт от тези години. 👌😊

sofkaa

What would you layer it with to make it smell more modern. I absolutely adore it's DNA but it has this somewhat vintage vibe so would only be suitable for a formal event and you don't attend many nowadays....

Efrosini

My first impression of this perfume, years ago, was that it is fitting for a very elegant woman in a glamorous evening setting. Dressed in a long creme-coloured dress, embodying classic beauty and gracefulness, I imagine her with a glass of champagne.
The bottle is perfect for the fragrance. So feminine and sophisticated.
For me, Organza is just absolutely pleasant. There is nothing offensive about it, it's just pure grace. That said, if you're looking to be bold, and express a lot of personality, this isn't really for that. Organza makes its impression in a refined way; doesn't provoke, and isn't loud. In that way it's a bit anonymous, without being generic.
So, if you're looking to be agreeable, sort of fly under the radar, but at the same time make an impression, Organza is for you.

rak13

When I did have Organza on my shelf (like 10 years ago or more) I didn't wear it very often because it was so bold and intense. Once I felt a was mature enough for it, it had turned and I had to throw it out.

Mystères du Château de Dé

I sprayed on my vintage bottle tonight 5 July. The one I reviewed, below. It's so honest and pretty I'm moved. And sad that such perfumes aren't manufactured nowadays.

TheSweaterGirl

So glad I sampled this, as I almost blind bought it😬 Sharp white florals, sort of medicinal, boring and I dare say, dated. I was intrigued by the prospect of a woody vanilla with nutmeg and walnut notes. I am disappointed as I find this to be a generic floral fragrance.

Edit to add: I found the dry down way better than the opening. But ultimately this isn’t for me.

Kanutten

Ok... So this is what it smells like now...:(
Let's just say that the first price for worst reformulation has a new contestant. - Organza.

The opening doesn't smell too bad, it's less creamy than I remember, and it has a little bit of "sunscreen" added to it (which I can't remember from the past, but I'm a sucker for the smell of sunscreen, so no problem).

But then... after the initial opening a foul smell comes into play. It's the tuberose-spicy-green that turns really bad on my skin, so bad that I had to scrub it off. This used to be smooth and strong. Now it's just strong.
- What a disappointment.

brandybasisty

I have a mini bottle of the vintage, and it's really reminding me of a creamier, slightly fruitier Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Does this mean it's on the turn?? Not unpleasant, but other people talk about a rootbeer smell, which I don't get at all.

Tinabill

Voluptuous luxurious floriental.
Organza is opulent yet delicate (think golden organza fabric), sensual yet classy, a gorgeous, stunning, and mature perfume with so much character.
How many perfumes do you come across with notes of nutmeg and walnuts? I have a huge arsenal and very few have these notes.
The creamy white florals have various facets: a bit spicy (nutmeg), a tad sweet (vanilla), nutty (walnut), green (green notes), warm and resinous (amber), and woodsy (guaiac). It is such a rich, warm and deep composition but the real magic starts when you smell it in the cold breeze of autumn or winter, it is absolutely enchanting and mesmerizing. Breathtaking beauty 😍🥰😘

Mystères du Château de Dé

I waited and waited to stumble on a vintage bottle. Now I have one. It's completely mature and blended seamlessly after 2 decades. The color is Drambuie golden nectar, or bourbon. The aroma is fantastic and I would like to drink it as a liqueur.

It's soft, rich, by no means a powerhouse. I'm sure your vintage experience will vary, depending how the bottle was stored.

I am surprised by the fruity shade to the bouquet. Vanilla, amber, flowers, a bit sweet, but not sugar sweet - nectar sweet. There aren't many fruits in the notes but I smell fruit.

I'm glad I waited for the vintage juice, but also relieved I did not pay a high price. I see many bottles of the vintage but the prices - sheesh!

There are new floral perfumes with today's molecules that will have much more oomph. It's not like this one is offering vintage "real" animalics, because it never contained such notes. Organza is certainly very comfortable and elegant, though. The impact is not "organza" to me, rather silk duchesse - that very thick satiny silk, sometimes called "bridal silk".

TunyaPe

Organza does not give off a professional boss vibe but a very sensual classy woman (dreamy, heady white floral in the opening – honeysuckle and gardenia are the most distinctive notes), and then when you get to know her more, as the scent transforms, you will find a true confident woman underneath who knows what she wants, is independent, authentic, wise with emotional maturity (spicy woody creating that character). Mature sass with class I would describe, and that is what I call 'sexy' and who I aspire to be like. She does not need to wear too revealing or fancy clothes to get attention but rather draws people in as who she is and with her magnetic aura. If you know tarots, this would represent the 9 of pentacles and the Judgement (rather than nurturing and motherly Empress).

Organza is more grown (notice I do not use the word old), grounded, solid, and serious while Boudoir is younger and adolescent, smells pink, more aromatic, a lil naughty, and makeup-ey; hence I find Organza to be a lot sexier (I love Boudoir but never find it sexy nor skanky / animalic).

I am seriously in LOVE with this fragrance.

brandi.head

Totally agree with the other reviewers regarding the "woman who get things done" vibe. Way too strong for the office, but I'm digging it for the boss-b*tch vibe while teleworking :)

Very strong, very 90's.

It starts full blast white floral with a hint of nectar - predominantly honeysuckle and gardenia. Honeysuckle has a strong, dry nectar quality. Not sweet. The fragrance shifts into jasmine and vanilla. Again dry rather than sweet vanilla. During dry down, the jasmine calms down and the wood becomes more forward.

Despite the notes of vanilla and nutmeg, this is absolutely not a gourmand. There is warmth but no sweetness.

OlgaPurePoison

Smells Like fruit cake to me

coffeefifofum

I tried this from a spritz bottle in a travelling sample box. The juice was DARK amber. Dark enough that I could see where it hit my skin and I was glad I didn't get any on my clothes. Fragrantica has led me to believe that's what vanilla does as it ages. That tracks with the scent experience I had: immediate and strong vanilla with support from well balanced florals. Powerful sillage, too powerful IMO and I like Pure Poison. It was the sort of perfume you taste, and not in that gourmand "taste and scent are basically the same" way. Taste as in "ugh I'm getting the flavor of perfume aromachemicals every time I breathe." That experience continued for more than 10 minutes. Lasting power for the trail was 4+hours and overall scent went all day.

This is a perfume I'd put in the "woman who gets things done" category. Not quite as creative a vibe as Lovely You vibe softer than No 5. Clearheaded guidance while supportive and kind.

hollygreen

This one right here!! This fragrance is for a grown woman who has accomplished some things in life. It's for your mom, favorite aunt, school principal, congress woman, a doctor, the current vice president, or someone else with stats. It's got it's own aura. The ornate craftsmanship was the first thing my two aunts noticed when they opened their Mother's Day gifts. Then the smell just knocked them over. It's like a full blown bouquet of the highest quality.

Apple_Sweet

Maybe it’s just my body chemistry, but this was very sharp and chemical-scented on me, almost bitter. Normally I wear strong perfumes well, but not this one.
Luckily I only did a tester. If you like less sweet, very strong perfumes and need a winter one, this may be for you.
I have a vintage bottle from my grandma and this smelled nothing like it, so maybe it ages well?

bevren

s801959 - I don't think it is discontinued. At least it seems to be freely available in the UK. November 2020 will still be fine a while yet.

s801959

Would anyone know the year that it was discontinued ?

I have a bottle from November 2020

Batch Code: 0L01 (Checked with CheckFresh)

Thanks !

Sylvie.

Thegrimmreaderr

Indolic, heady, vintage smelling. My bottle is vintage and I do wonder how the newer bottles differ to the vintage ones but I dont think it would be enough of a difference for me to enjoy it. Nauseating and extremely powerful stuff. absolutely a cold weather fragrance and to be sprayed once and walked into, not directly on skin or you will find yourself w a headache and others around you will become nauseous. What a shame. I was looking forward to this fragrance based off other people's descriptions but this is a hard pass for me.

Miss Dolittle

I recently purchased this as I was looking for a reasonable price woody perfume with a beautiful aura, that would entice me to venture outside on a very cold day. Initially I had stayed inside and was rather disappointed. Gutted I still went outside. Wow the whole scent just opened up in all her glory. It amazed me how the bitter cold was like a magic key to opening up this treasure. Definitely worthy of a buy.

Cascadia Ecotopia

The only Givenchy perfume I own, in a .5 oz. mini, from the later 1990’s. The bottle reminds me of a Madame Gres Grecian column pleated sheath dress, frosted. The sculpture is topped by a curvy coiled cap. Very classical museum, gardens, library. Really enjoy the nutty ambered vanilla wood warmth, perked up with some of my fave florals, gardenia, jasmine, honeysuckle, iris and peony. Like the fabric, Organza does give off formal, proper lady vibes, one who whispers in hushed tones, enticing listeners to lean in closely, conspiratorially, hoping for more detailed revelations, much like the exhibits.

Neckromancer

I don't understand why this doesn't get the same recognition that Dior Addict enjoys. This is spicy in the same vein as Addict. The spice is stronger in Dior Addict, but Addict is a stronger scent all around. They're both green white florals. They both have vanilla. The vanilla is stronger and smoother in Organza. Organza is a little more "glossy" because of the tuberose. I actually think Organza is more of a crowd pleaser than Addict. But I guess I'm wrong?

JuicyJes

I thought this was gorgeous, exotic, spicy and thick the first time I tried this scent in store. Now that I have it, I am so bored with it. Sweet vanilla, fresh living flowers, liquid, and a hint of spice. A little indolic. But ultimately, so so boring. Pretty and complicated, and somehow still boring. I did not feel like this was a 'mature' scent initially, but something about it says older woman. I'm upset that my feelings have changed for now, but maybe they will shift again.

Perfumedsecrets

Just sprayed on my arm. Ooo, mmm hmm. She’s definitely a vintage 90’s gem. Intoxicating warm floral. One spray was enough. Not a small shadow of what it was, like Indecence. With this you’re wrapped in it like a cashmere scarf. This is a big white floral with woods and touches of spice.

Ranee52

Absolute stunning scent with African orange flower, vanilla, walnut, nutmeg, jasmine, gardenia, guaiac wood, tuberose and amber. My heart beats faster while I come across anyone wearing this. I don’t know exactly why, but the butterflies start fluttering in my stomach as soon as I smell this beautiful fragrance. This is kind of presentation of women in varying phases such as sensuous, elegance and feminisms. Eternal longevity and enormous silage make it worth each penny. To me, this amazing scent is a luxurious, decadent and a spicy one exuding the elegance as well as mystery without any sacrifice of sex appeal. On the top, I can feel vanilla and nutmeg that are further held down by the dark and amber woods. I would categorize it under the classic floral oriental which is super stunning and amazingly beautiful to be used anytime, anywhere and any day. This is a classic elegant scent full of gardenia flowers, nutty spicy aroma of vanilla and tuberose. Perfect scent to fall for. Enjoy!

harperpeshhe

Organza is warm, elegant and quite a unique masterpiece. I am thankful for the nutmeg's longevity in this beautifully blended fragrance, it has me craving it more and more. A naughty blind buy but quite a successful one.

Enrium

I am reviewing a vintage miniature from the nineties, housed in a scaled-down version of the iconic Gaultier-like curvacious bottle with its Greek column-esque lid. It is quite a straightforward, timeless feminine scent with plenty of mass appeal. The sexy art-deco bottle is irresistable, if not elegant, and the cheerful scent housed within seals the deal.

Organza opens with slightly sweet white florals, laced with a hint of warm spice. There is a hint of greenness which complements the florals beautifully, adding some stem-like freshness to the bouquet. There is very little citrus to my nose.

As it develops, it becomes more floral, slightly carnal, with a rich white floral accord coming to the fore. Jasmine and tuberose dominate here, with sweet peony adding some girly lightness. I cannot detect the honeysuckle, which is disappointing, as I find it to be an unusual and charming addition to more run-of-the-mill floral accords. What makes Organza shine however, is the walnut note. It grounds the florals with a refreshingly nutty alternative to traditional woody notes at this stage of development, and adds a cosy, autumnal vibe. It is tied together beautifully by the sweet vanilla note - adding a soft yet rich creamy sweetness that complements the florals beautifully. It is restrained, natural-smelling and subtle - a far cry from the liberal use of vanillin in modern feminine mass-market scents.

The iris is evident as it begins to dry down, adding a powdery softness. Woody notes creep in, and it fades to a sweet amber-musky skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

Organza is a lighthearted, cheerful feminine scent - nothing elaborate, high-end or edgy, but joyful, even slightly trashy. In this way, it reminds me of Hot Couture, another Givenchy scent from a similar era, albeit a floral-fruity instead of Organza's woody floriental. Organza still manages to be ageless and timeless, a nice choice for daytime transseasonal wear. I would like to compare it to the presumably reformulated current version. 3/5.

I forgot to add that the Jasmine in this fragrance is Arabian Jasmine. I’m very picky what kind of jasmine is used in perfume because it’s a very particular scent, the jasmine they use in this fragrance is amazing! I used to wear the pure essential oil mix with Jojoba oil and roll it on, it was so beautiful and so much better then regular jasmine. They say Star Jasmine is the best but I prefer Arabian variety.
Such a difference in quality. Most of the jasmine we get in fragrances is from India and that is really nice but Egyptian and Arabian has something special about it, it just smells better. ❤️❤️

Can'tstopFragranceAddict

Well I got this yesterday and what a surprise!
This beauty opens with the perfect amount of indolic gorgeous white flowers, This and Gucci Bloom are perfectly balanced examples of white florals for beginners, for people starting out in this category. She opens with the most beautiful Arabian Jasmine and Gardenia and within a few minutes she settles into the vanilla, orange blossom and nutty walnut base and the sweetness
from the honeysuckle. Overall this fragrance is a vanilla, jasmine gardenia perfume. 10/10! She is stunningly beautiful, a truly seductive and sensual fragrance. It’s so creamy, cozy and there is nothing over the top. Oh and I find you don’t have to be careful with spraying because it’s not to strong, it melts into your skin so well. Honestly haven’t enjoyed a fragrance this much in a long time also I love all the notes listed. I’m so glad I ordered a bottle because It’s a perfect perfume for the Autumn and Winter.

angeliquealice

Oh, wow, that creamy, powdery, spicy, WALNUT! I have never smelled anything like that in another perfume. Somehow it co-mingles with the fresh gardenia without one over-powering the other. This perfume is so classic; it's a womanly scent for the ages. I can pick out and enjoy the different notes without it being "just" a floral, and not a gourmand... fresh and sweet, classy; I hope this can always be found! (smelled from a new bottle, haven't sampled a vintage)

CypressSnow

Intoxicating. Very bitter walnut note. The best part kicks in in two hours.
I also love that green note in the drydown. Some people on here call it menthol, but it's more like broken stems to me, it really adds to gardenia impression.
The drydown is so good, I want to eat it.

Anitanita.

I used to wear it 16 years ago.A fantastic warm, cozy and creamy scent.
It screams quality, one of those old school perfumes which smell timeless .

bel.gravia

The nutty notes make Organza indeed recognisable and unique. I can smell the florals, the tuberose and woody notes, all of which is quite classic, but the the walnut and nutmeg add spiciness, woodiness, cosiness. I have never smelt a white floral like this. Organza is one of a kind. It is a calm and quiet perfume, yet long lasting.

Gypsy French

Nutty, flowery, creamy goodness with a hint of sweetness. I'm trying this in cooler weather and it's really beautiful! I blind bought this perfume based on the notes and I'm not disappointed at all. This is only my second Givenchy but I certainly will be looking at other perfumes from this house.

It would seem that rotating Givenchy III, Scherrer (JLS) and the sylvan Laurent’s Y have piqued me in enjoying Organza. Perhaps my previous rotations were hostile to Organza but the greens to which it shares kinship with seemed to have uplifted it.

The peony and its dainty freshness combined with an uncanny trio of salacious gardenia, cosmetic iris and that smell which wafts from ripe walnuts, shell intact, seemed to produce dreamy billows of the kind I find in Poison, Amarige and even Paris. After all, these use greens at a certain degree. These all work under a bed of bright and dark green leaves with no feel of the soil underneath.

I would go on daydreaming that the green to wood and fruit ratio in Organza would be inclined to the former; it suggests something fantastic but people do take greens as of the moment as an acquired taste or for those who have no proclivity to scents in general.

I would wish that the greens stayed a bit longer; after all, we yearn for that lover who stays aloof at the early stages of courtship don’t we?

I had this when it first came out, and while I loved it, I felt it was a little mature for a 20 something year old. Fast forward 20+ years and it’s back in my collection because I found a partial bottle at a thrift store for 25¢, a bargain I just could not pass up. No way for me to tell how old it is, but it still smells as it should with the vanilla deepened, making it more gourmand to my nose. Sexy juice. It’s no wonder my younger self couldn’t handle its’ power. This is the kind of perfume for a woman who can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and ….. well, you know the rest if you are anywhere near my age. ;)

s2jkbrad

I have a bottle of the eau de perfume from 2014 from a thrift store for $10. Score! This is a heady, nutty sweet smell. The sweetness is intoxicating and teeters on the verge of being too sweet. This has the feeling of sweet pralines and vanilla musk mixed with wood. There is a bitterness or greenness that come through the sweetness. This is a like and appreciation but not love for me.

This together with Poeme, Amarige, Classique, Carolina Herrera, By Dolce Gabbana were the pinnacle of the femininity of the 90s. Woody spicy florals.

Olfactory perception is a truly fascinating subject to consider while diving into the endlessly giving world of perfumery. Our sense of smell often jumps neural circuits in lieu of other sensory passageways. And because of these transient impulses, we are able to receive odors as not only emotionally memorable, but also in ways that associate scents with color, numbers, or textures. As I sit with my blotter at half mast, I am reminded of this phenomenon. How to express Organza in a way that doesn't discuss the deft title itself? I've been deliberating on an avenue of discussion for sometime. Lacking any more clarity in the matter, I thought it best today, to describe it just as it manifests in my mind, and hope the rest will sort itself in the capable hands of the reader.
Early in, a veil of soft florals, as if caught aloft with warm currents of velvet soft wood, breeze by. Arid and intangible; sheer curtains come alive with each ivory breath from wind swept inwards. A dance begins as cashmere kisses, so soft with feminine transparency, illuminate sultry skies. Tuberose, jasmine and gardenia only whisper by, almost unrecognizable in this form, they step back into the distance, until their images become silhouettes nodding in vanilla and nutmeg. Every moment capable of mighty insurrection, yet entirely satisfied to remain aloof. Warm, sensual waves of suggestion, like stepping into a gauze draped dream world, serene and soft. To call it anything but Organza, would be to deny the very nature of Sophie's creation. Ever evolving evocations of light and air combine into a delicately divine surrender. A celebration in the fruitful expanse of womanhood, and a provocation of peace.

novaklara98

My mother had this when I was a child and I remembered it as too strong, too mature. A while back I rediscovered it from an old bottle of hers, and boy was I wrong. Ever since, I can't get enough of this. It feels like a warm embrace, a homecoming I didn't know I was missing. The vanilla and amber are so balanced, so enchanting. It's a very sophisticated, yet seductive scent. My first instinct was to only wear it as an evening scent, but I enjoy it too much to keep it for special occasions. It's turning into my signature scent, and I'm finding it can fit in any season, day or night with the right style and attitude. It just suits who I am. One spray on the wrists and one spray on the neck is already plenty. With this one, less is definitely more.

Edit: The bottle I have is the Gold collection, and I just discovered the notes are different (simplified), not just the packaging. I sure hope the original won't be too different, as the Gold collection is very difficult to find, and very expensive.

I forgot how wonderful this perfume is. I was carried away by desire, I gave it to myself, and now I have it on hand and I admire it. It is everything I need at this moment: refined, elegant, feminine, sensual.

It is by no means strong, suffocating, irritating, old ladys scent. It is a class in itself.
long-lasting infatuated look.Yes, he needs a goat, a soft female goat to shine in full beauty.

Madyana

This is so beautiful that I don’t even know what I would write about this.
This is very nutty, really milky, a little even sour in milkiness, but never nauseous like some nutty scent can be. Jasmin and spices are just right here.
This is not strong vanilla sweet, but rich, honeyd in white flowers. Still not over creamy or buttery like some tuberoses can be. This scent is something that makes me speechless. Sophie Labbe must be genius! I think.

nancy.france

Bold and Incredibly Elegant.

I love that fact that the lead note is Nutmeg and Walnut is tucked in the Heart. So unique.

The bottle design is appropriate as this perfume is fit for a goddess.

Very well crafted with divine white florals and balancing on vanilla, cedar and palo santo.

Not for everyone just those select few that groove with this fantasy.

TheFl0rist

I got my bottle in middle of summer cannot wait enough for the winter to come. It is opulent rich thick unique white floral with a spicy kick.
I haven’t smelled anything like this before. I am waiting for winter to experience it’s full potential.

theuntrainednose

I have a sample.

---

Uncommon dance of notes. Sometimes I smell the vanilla, woodied, thick with spices and almost with a hint of bitterness. Then the tuberose comes out, also thick, heavy, vaguely reminding me of banana peel. Other times it's the jasmine, soapy and balanced between clean and carnal skin.

To retry for sure :)

StinkyTinky

😲😲wow this is potent juice! I’ve always been a huge fan of this fragrance but be forewarned...this is not for the faint of heart. I LOVE IT!!!!
This is one of the most indolic smelling florals in my collection. It’s almost animalic it’s so raw and to my taste, beautiful and daring.
Those raw straight from nature undertones get swept up into a pile once it settles in with the nutmeg and walnut. Suddenly it’s become more digestible. This is a floral that can kick winters a**, and it might kick yours too if you aren’t careful, so apply with a light hand and experiment.
I’d also like to recommend you take her for a test drive on your day off, or minimally start with 1, maybe 2 sprays. See how she performs for you..
Givenchy is one of my all time favorite houses, and it’s perfumes like this that reaffirm my love for them.

I live in bear country and I think this might be a better assault device than my pepper spray. It’s just that strong. If only the atomizer had range

Edit: I’ve been experimenting with this one for a few days now. The dry down of this 1-2 hours in is primo. I actually tested this theory on my entire family 😂😂 sorry dad😏
So I would recommend application right when you get out of the shower before you do your makeup and hair. By the time you arrive at your destination you’ll be ready to rock and roll...

Ellsa

One of the few oriental perfumes that I like. It.s not common,I smell menthol in it but in a good way, more like fresh sensation, gardenia, tuberose and woody powdery notes , I don t feel any vanilla in it. This give me a good mood when I use this. This one I think I will buy it again.It.s a great and unique perfume. It is not girly perfume at all, it's a vintage one that's why I don't see this perfume to be for this type of girls with fake hair, fake long eyelashes and instagram makeup but for a classy, elegant and sophisticated lady, something like Audrey Hepburn style or like the models of Ralph Lauren from 1980.

giri-boni

Fantastic. But, be careful: only works on colder days and very lightly sprayed. So elegant, spicy, festive, same feelings Dolce Vita gives me. Cozy!

chimidoro

Just such an alluring spiced floral vanilla scent. Thick, syrupy, oriental, warm and enveloping.
Excellent strength and longevity. I have tried and owned only vintage formulations of this and they all smell amazing. Nutmeg & jasmin are strongest in the earlier formulas, on a delectable ambery vanillic, woody base.
Think bohemian. Toasted marshmallow and incense. Jasmin on the breeze.
Hippies around a campfire on a beach.

carlahoffman

What a lovely fragrance as it evolves through a beautiful array of notes that makes me smell and feel so beautiful. It starts with a lovely blast of white floral notes along with a touch of nutmeg, with a light fruity background. Now that took some talent to use so many different types and make them sing so pretty together.

The scent is sensuous yet delicate, as it settles into the heart with another lovely bouquet of rich floral notes in which the Jasmine is the star to me along with the Iris and Peony which makes this perfume sing in beauty. You can tell I love this perfume. it has a sweet creamy dry down with the Vanilla and Amber and woody Virginia Cedar provide a satisfyingly scent,

It has a very nice but not annoying projection (I used 2 sprays) , but the first time you use it start with one or two sprays and see if you need or want more .It lasted all day and it woke up with me the next morning. A great scent to wear all year around and I like it more at night.

My hat is off to Givenchy, you did it again!!!

vdxl

Although it's linear, this is a perfume to discover over time. I know it's loud & proud, but to me it's some kind of a comfort scent leaning over the tropics with all the magnificent flowers available ( except maybe frangipani): tiare- ylang-ylang- gardenia-tuberose sprinkled with some abstract notes and sheer vanilla. It works wonders in the winter-a menthol note that adds some freshness to the blend; in the summer- when it could be your next tanning oil with class. I'm shocked people say this is loud. Take for instance Yves Rocher-Eau des Vahines ( 2012-2013 batch) and that one is extremely strong and coconutty- it should be an EDT for the summer- but it is really dense all season and extremely sweet. Organza is more minimalistic. Lasting power and sillage are more than you could expect- but not overtly in your face. Highly Recommended! ( It works unisex for me- but I'm a fragrance freak).

MorganaM

This is Ysatis without the animalics.

Huge, loud, and sweet. Not a dry woody floral, but honeyed, sticky and thick. None of the subtle nuances that make Ysatis such a non-linear and ever-evolving beauty.

Will try again, but today this is “in your face” until it just kind of disappears. Too strong for too long, and then a ghost, a mere pale skin scent. No gradual evolution as it moves towards an aged settling, just gone.

Not terrible, but I have two lovely vintage Ysatis EDPs, and this is so similar I certainly won’t be buying it.

AnosmicConvert

Like a spring bouquet of beautiful flowers. It reminds me of Donna Karen Cashmere a little.

Zethre

For me it starts with almost a fizz, effervescence with a hint of spice, then the flowers start to grow. In cooler weather it's more spicy, in warmer weather the rich flowers take over, so it's worth trying at different times or year.

RosaMilena

VINTAGE - Lovely white floral spicy sweet nutty melange. Sensual without being dirty. Walnut and nutmeg ground this and meld with the florals to create a very warm and comforting feeling. Brings to mind being in front of a warm fireplace at home on a cold autumn night after a glamorous and satisfying night out, just relaxing with heels kicked off, enjoying a glass of fine vintage wine before going to bed.

Mystinguette

Such a gorgeous fragrance. On first spray the nutmeg, gardenia and then tuberose are the most prominent. The bergamot sustains, joined by the iris. Then the vanilla, amber, and cedar shine through and last long after the fragrance has become a skin scent. I absolutely adore Organza and I recommend it highly. It's an all-time classic that still has a place in my heart. Great value as well! There's nothing "old lady" about it for me!

stacia79

Delicious root beer float while sitting on the steps of the attic wearing mother's old wedding dress and there is a hint of old gardenia perfume in the silk of the dress. Old world, classic and evocative of another life where you played piano.

Callista25

Vintage Organza (the woman's silhouette is frosted glass and the juice is darker) is a beautiful, non-offensive, gardenia-jasmine-vanilla. Unapologetically feminine. The current reformulation is a watered down version and lacks the plushness.

I think there is some confusion between this perfume and the flanker Organza Indecence, which is an equally lovable spicy-woody-vanilla.

Nice sillage and moderate longevity.

I really need to get a vial of the original Organza and smell it again. I bought it when it was first introduced; having been very happy with Givenchy's Ysatis a few years earlier, and eager to try their latest offering.

When I saved up enough money and bought Organza, I found that I was really drawn to the fragrance that it worked well with my chemistry. I was, however, afraid to wear it to certain places because it seemed both too loud and too sweet. Organza shared this quality with another fragrance I wore that came out around the same time - Tocade by Rochas. I loved (and still love) Tocade, too, but didn't dear wear it in a crowd.

I just reviewed the notes that Organza and Tocade have in common - sweet vanilla, jasmine, amber, and that soft but strong, powdery iris note are probably the most noticeable. The fragrances share bergamot, "green notes" and cedar as well.

Luckily, my boyfriend (now husband) liked the scent of Organza on me. He thought the bottle was pretty, and and I remember that he asked me what "organza" meant. Being the daughter of a professional seamstress/tailor, I was able to tell him. I don't think he ever commented on Tocade, so Organza must have made a bigger impression.

As I said, I need to revisit this one.

CompassionLoveWisdom

One word: Intoxicating. I hope this will have the same effect on men :) This is at the same time romantic and sexy and seductive. I will be using this as a secret weapon on my romantic pursuits and conquests. Just a tiny bit floral, mostly warm spicy oriental.

binthadifa

When I had it, I hated the spicy opening and loved the drydown, because of the vanilla. But I was a teen back then. If I would have Organza now, I think I would appreciate the opening more.

NadiaJozi

Organza is a mixture of old and new, classic and modern style which is enchantingly beautiful. The Aroma is quite feminine and special. If you like the smell of white flowers, I suggest you try it. It is creamy warm spicy and at the same time very cool refreshing and cheerful. In terms of longevity and silllage, it is very good and you can feel the aroma almost all day. I keeping it for special occasions when I want to feel strong and confident.

MsLittlejohn

I wanted to love it, and it is really pretty in a more vintage fashion. I can't wear it, though. Brand new 1 oz bottle up for trade if interested! 😊

Jacquis

I'm starting to explore powerhouse perfumes from the 90s. The more I explore, the more I'm wondering,
"Why do I spend so much money sampling expensive niche perfumes when unique, powerhouse perfumes were already here?"

Organza is a decadent, luxurious, spicy masterpiece that exudes mystery and elegance without sacrificing sex appeal. The nutmeg and vanilla are right at the top. The dark, ambery woods are holding it down. This is what modern unisex perfumes are made of. I cannot get enough of this. I bought a vintage one from Ebay and they are not even hard to find. In time, these perfumes will become scarce but for now, I'll be collecting them. Maybe my spirit angel is in the 90s and for her, perfection was already done!

Ronett

Pkease tell me if there is a similer scent to the classic vintage organza ? The new one doesnt have a good sillage

complexxx

imo, the ultimate feminine sex goddess scent. i feel this way not only because this is the vibe it evokes when i wear it, but because when i feel like the ultimate feminine womanly sex goddess, THIS is the first and truly only scent that comes to mind. vintage dior addict is not far behind, but this is IT. the QUEEN of erotic femininity. i love it SO much. one of my absolute MUST-HAVES.

Amy Ann

Bought it once from Versailles Perfumery France some years ago, at first nose hmm interesting when I spray it on... bleach another Chanel 5 with other hat, not for a powerful woman in my opinion more for that type of "fragile" housewives, heiress, millionaire hunter women or for an efervescent young teenager. I regifted it to my secretary teen daughter...she doesn't like it, I bought her an Amarige after to make up for it.

Coquita

One of my mum's favorites, I still remembered this weird-looking bottle on her vanity from the 90s, but had no recollection of the smell, so I had to try it. This is a very feminine and regal perfume. I've only tried it on me twice, once in the winter and once in the summer, and the performance was COMPLETELY different. However, the perfume performs wonderfully in both seasons, but I especially liked the summer version. Not for the faint of heart, though, use sparingly.

Winter Organza: Opens with zesty nutmeg and then settles down to a bouquet of peonies and honeysuckles. Very pleasant but not particularly stunning. (7/10)

Summer organza: Opens with a blast of nutmeg and jasmine, then settles down into a spicy, woody aroma that is complemented by amber. I'd swear I get tonka bean in the late dry-down, but it is probably the walnut. What I smell now is a true oriental and WOW, does this turn heads. Super well-balanced and stunning composition. (9/10)

Peeka

This reminds me of a very, very young me when visiting my aunt’s house and sneaking a little of this onto my wrists. Naughty!

Very warming jasmine smell. Well blended & balanced which is astonishing considering how complex it is. The sweetness of the vanilla rounds out the spiciness of the nutmeg and the warmer, woody/leathery smells rounds out the florals.

To my nose Organza shares a huge amount with Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique essence EDP but is less sweet by comparison. I’d say Organza is a more spicy & mature alternative.

Not overpowering if used in moderation. Definitely long-lasting. You really couldn’t go wrong.

HollywoodNovaBaby

This right away reminds me of Vivienne Westwood’s Boudoir.

Duft Liebe

Delicious.
Am I totally mislead or is this quite similar to the DIORISSIMO Version of the 90' ? This was so heavy on lily of the valley, aswell.
Really delicious.

Konga5000

EDIT: OMG smells a LOT like Annick Goutal SONGES !

Konga5000

My first brush with Organza was an estate sale - lady had a bottle of the lotion for sale so I picked it up- however she wanted too too much money for a used bottle of lotion! So I left it there UN-sniffed. Sigh.
Just got this today- my blind buy, I like it a lot- GREAT for vanilla lovers. Has a classic-yet-modern smell to it.
LONGEVITY is fair / good, but today I went out in the humidity and it blossomed ! Organza loves heat !
SAFE BLIND BUY if you like :Vanilla , hint of spice and that "timeless" vibe: Organza could have been created in 1962, 1982 or 2002 .

bintTapputi

I think this is a nice classic feeling fragrance. It's got good projection and sticks to the skin for a long time, which is always ideal. Very classically sexy. 7/10

semsem_sunshine

This scent is very nostalgic to me.. I think it has a unique character even the bottle looks vintage.. I absolutely love it although I don’t wear it that often but I just take a sniff from the bottle every now and then
It’s definately a powerful scent but not cloying or disturbing.. maybe a little mature
I can’t picture a teenager wearing this at all

BlondeMoments

I had been wearing the vintage, 1/2 oz bottles off ebay, and fell in love with organza. I just bought a full 3.4 bottle of the current version, and I am soo disappointed :( I was used to the unique nutmeg note in the vintage, loved it. But the current..weaker, as the new new ones always are, but all I seem to really get is the odd scent of walnut..not so good.
Why do they do this?

Nijntje

Loved the smell of this in the bottle, but the nutmeg is too much for me on my skin. I use nutmeg when preparing meatballs, but I'm not a fan of the smell and taste so I always use it sparingly. The nutmeg is quite heavy in this. Shame. The florals are very sunny and pretty.

I don't get the sharp chemical smell that other reviewers have mentioned. I have a sneaking suspicion that this might just be the nutmeg note that people aren't used to. I love Organza, and don't find it at all dated, or even overtly feminine. Yes, the luscious white florals are there, and so is the vanilla, but the woody and nutty notes add a dry weight to the blend that makes it fairly unisex. Not too much development on my skin, though the florals do eventually fade and make this a woody, warm amber-vanilla scent. And in spite of the culinary notes, this is barely in gourmand territory. The sweetness is there, but very well balanced with the woody, spicy, resinous, and floral notes. All in all, a rich, smooth, sensuous fragrance, one of the few by Givenchy worth giving any time to. The bottle is a bit eccentric but I love it. Good for most occasions, just avoid wearing this in hot weather.

Warmth of the Sun ★★★★★

90’s Givenchy was on fire and they blessed the world with a couple of masterpieces, Organza and Insensé, and a dozen of other respectable releases such as Xeryus Rouge, Amarige and Pi. Curiously however, the two masterworks coming from the same brand inhabited far extremes totally opposite from each other. Insensé was an entirely novel structure, bold and a masculine like nothing else on earth still without a parallel today, but burdened with a textbook failure of bottle and advertisement design disconnected from the brilliant scent. Organza, on the other hand, was a familiar feminine vanillic floriental of no innovation but housed in a superb bottle and paired with an advertisement that depicts the fragrance perfectly, an ideal coherent design success. My love for Insensé stems from its aloof strangeness while Organza achieves love by embodying everything that perfumes are meant for – attraction. It has the atmospheric quality of warm Mediterranean air and vulcanic south European soil but haunted by the soul of a compassionate and cultivated woman kissed by the sun. An embrace of a perfectly judged spicy vanilla infused with white florals and sweet musks never too sweet, too heady, nor invasive but not a mute wallflower either. Organza is the epitome of achieving greatness by not trying too hard. This is not your Poison or Kouros to announce a grand arrival with, but it is truly hard to find a perfume more humane, sincere and comfortable as Organza. Even in my blindest of rages, I could not hate this.

The current version is more linear vanillic and less musky floral compared to the vintage, but it is still recognizably Organza. Vintage reigns supreme, but I wouldn't say the contemporary formula is a complete disaster either. It's love either way.

~ It's an arid, nutty, spiced dream you're nearly awake - still languid. The breath of desert air carries messages from foreign sands into your cheek and into your impressions. You feel someone you've forgotten; calling...

~

Organza conjures up imagery of the middle east, or possibly Egyptian mystique to me, despite the notes not being pointedly middle eastern. It's a dry, silken, gilded, spicy, intoxicatingly feminine and mysterious fragrance. It's classically fall, but it almost seems to me as if it could be an anomaly and perform even better in the heat (particularly dry heat). Anyway, it's kind of a disservice to claim this is sexy (although it is), because it kind of transcends sexiness. It's enrapturing.

I get tons of delicious nutmeg mixed with vanilla (nutmeg is always amazing when paired with something creamy, either sweet or savory), and it's harmony with the nuttiness from the walnut and wood is brilliant. There is some tuberose and jasmine to create an element of poise. I don't smell peony or bergamot, but this is still somehow fresh enough to not sit heavily on the skin. It's a fully-formed concerto of notes; enough uniqueness to be intriguing, classy without being uppity, and warmly seductive without being overtly provocative.

I adore this.

Mc1995

I do not understand why people name this in the same sentence as White Diamonds, 24 Fauborg, Boucheron, Ysatis etc while all beautiful mature and classic this is way more timeless than those. This came out in 1996 and to me it could have been released in the 2000’s or even today. Gorgoues white floral and vanilla. It’s such a beautiful scent. Totally feminine, picture Women like Yasmeen Ghauri, who is in the original ad. And is perfect face for this one, or Christy Turlington. It’s a scent of a beautiful women, from inside and out. That being said I feel a mature teenager could pull it off too. More Like 20 and up probably though. I just dont see it similar to those ‘oldies’ I mentioned and everyone seems to name it in a list with those

alfrued

Bought the vintage to my wife, it is an amazing scent
Nothing can beat it except oriental lounge.

kayleenanncooke

Wow 21 year old me smelled this in a department store and hated it and thought it was foul old lady stink.

Fast forward to now. 25 year old me loves this. It's beautiful. I guess becoming a mom matured me. My tastes changed a lot.

This is beautiful loud white flowers with warm nutmeg and amber. It's absolutely breathtaking. I have not tried the vintage but I love this new formulation I feel like it could be watered down from what people say but I think it being watered down is helpful to women nowadays. Most younger women 35 and under can't handle the totally overpowering scents. I'm finding that I love older perfumes more than the sweet generic stuff they put out on the market now.

This does give off a Coca-Cola sarsaparilla root beer vibe. I'll update on longevity and such.

Normally I can't stand vanilla or oriental scents, but when I first smelled Organza I fell in love. Such a warm and sensual fragrance. Imagine a cold winter evening in a chalet in the woods. A fire burns in the fireplace, a glass of red wine in your hand. The room is cozy and warm. That's Organza.

Fragrance2123

This is my childhood in a scent, this is my mother spraying this before going to work and me sneaking in her room, spraying this as well so that I can also feel like a mature, classy woman.

This is a very elegant scent, it is timeless and classic, it's classy, mature and unapologetic. This is feminine and strong at the same time, it's spicy, sweet, warm and rich. It's oriental, ambery and seductive and it just feels imperial. The bottle and the cap are forming a stunning ancient Greek ionic column that resembles the shape of a woman's body, the packaging is the beautiful representation of the juice inside - a scent fit for an elegant, strong woman. The sillage is really good and the longevity is also amazing, 8 hours I would say.

The scent seemed to me extremely dense with a spicy flavour of papyrus and nuts dust. It as like settles of white-flowers mainly of the tuberose on my olfactory receptors. And my imagination was conjured up a shape of the dazzling-beautiful Queen Cleopatra in her palace, reclining on a silk sofa in a seductive organza dress in aromatic smoke among musicians and servants.

Vintage Organza it incredible in its sounding the fragrance.

Anamandy

I managed to get my hands on a vintage Organza and it is so different from the reformulated version. It’s much smoother and the nutmeg doesn’t come off as chemical. Nor is it powdery. The reformulated version is very powdery on me. The dry down is the same for both though lighter in the reformulated. All in all, the vintage Organza is richer overall with clearly better quality ingredients.

If you are going to purchase this scent it is worth the extra time and expense seeking out the original formula.

Update - word of warning. The vintage deep orange juice will stain your clothes. Be careful where you spray or spray before you get dressed.

fillifelle

The last time a vintage perfume left me starry-eyed and transfixed was when I first sniffed Loulou.

Now the same has happened with Organza. A dusty bottle of frosted glass housing an orange amber liquid. Found in a dusty antique perfume store in a corner of an old shopping mall. The owner very kindly allowed me to try some on. Turns out it was a smart move. I couldn’t get it out of my head and had to return the next day to get it.

It’s a smooth, very smooth creamy jasmine/gardenia scent made well-rounded by a non-gourmand vanilla base. No harshness, screechiness. None of the indoles that make me avoid the whole gamut of white florals out there. Heady without being cloying. This is elegance and class but has a casual flirty fun side as well. Simply intoxicating!

I’ve heard that the recent formulations are still very good. My bottle is from 2002, with the 6 digit batch code just before LVMH took over with their 4 digit codes. Front of the bottle where the “dress” is, is frosted glass.

No wonder it’s a classic worth owning!

This is v elegant and magical perfume but I think this is for mature women 💕

Bossy and elegant frag, mostly for ladies 45+

I've tried this in the store. It smelled like amazing vanilla. Now I got it, and it smells different, no vanilla in it. Probably got reformulated version :( It's still very unique and smells like what a millionaire would wear from early 1900. When I first spray it I get this strong sweet bubblegum tuberose smell with woody undertones, reminds me of an ylang ylang in Guerlain L'instant perfume.

Anamandy

This is such a powder bomb on me and I don't know where that's coming from because it's not in the description and no one else here seems to mention it. I'm not crazy about the nutmeg running through the fragrance either. At first I didn't know what it was and had to come here to look at the notes, then realized it was the nutmeg I was smelling. Until I realized what it was I thought it was a chemical smell. Now that I know what it is that note clicked into an a-ha moment for me. I'm picking up jasmine very strongly in this but cannot really discern the other flowers. Once in a while I get a hint of tuberose or gardenia but it seems to flit pass very fast. My favorite part of this scent is the sweet vanilla and woody dry down. I really love that. Looks like I'll have to wear this more to really get the feel of it. For now, it's just a like.
Review of the latest, reformulated version.

Amascent

I loved this perfume in the early 2000's. It was a gorgeous balanced spicy sweet oriental floral. Worked so well on my skin. I loved it. I haven't tried it in recent years as I've heard it's changed and I don't want to ruin my memory of it.

PB29

Smells how jazzy 90s dish ware looks. Love it!

Vegas Pauli

I remember this when it came out in the 90s as being a rich complex oriental. It must have been reformulated as it now smells like an orange creamsicle. You can find this for about $24 on line and I can see why. Sad...another great fragrance ruined by reformulation. Givenchy needs to take their name off this one.

Celine100

This was a blind purchase. The first day I wore it I was a bit put off by the one sharp nutmeg-ish note and put the perfume aside for awhile, but kept thinking about how nice it was to actually have a scent with such great longevity. Tried it again and began to appreciate how unique the scent is - I really don't own anything similar. From there, the scent began to grow on me and I began to find it a bit comforting. I now wear it frequently. Lovely perfume !

very nostalgic classic elegant perfume
two days ago i sniffed the tester of this vintage perfume in the shopping mall and it return me back to the winter of year 1997 when i was in the High school as my aunt gifted this perfume to my mom (supposed to be a new perfume at those days)so i decide to buy it immeditly
Love it

Organza has been my signature scent a few years ago, and I could barely go a day without wearing it. It was a love at first sight, and I was going crazy over it. The scent is powerful, delightfully decadent in its tuberose, gardenia and jasmine trio draped in an airy vanilla shawl that left a heavenly trail. Organza lasted well during the whole day and late nights, it filled the room with its powerful presence. This must be the strongest perfume I have in my collection, and how could one not be thrilled about this.

But nothing lasts forever, right? Unfortunately, after letting it sit on its shelf for about two years (alas, other love interests came in sight), Organza stopped being its former self. I wore it again just a few months ago and was shocked by an overwhelming vanilla sweetness that no longer felt like a shawl but rather, a necktie. Much to my sadness, Organza no longer seems to work to my advantage anymore, and no, it hasn't gone off as I know how to store my perfumes.

Either way, this is by no means to say that Organza is a bad perfume - I still adore its scent from the bottle, but that just so happens that it no longer suits me, which happens. I can only add that this is probably best to be worn in colder times of the year only because summer doesn't do Organza much justice, and it can become suffocating.

Will hold on to my bottle in hopes that one day I can still wear it as I once did.

perfumeninja

I dug out my little pure parfum bottle of Organza the other day. I hadn't worn it in quite awhile. I was wearing my much loved Avon Tomorrow and wanted to do a side by side comparison with Organza.

My Organza perfume has grown dark and thick. I put on a tiny dot and rubbed it onto my wrist. Wow! Talk about a gorgeous powerhouse of scent! The similarities to Tomorrow are definitely there but while Tomorrow is a lovely anytime scent and so versatile, Organza is a smoldering lush beauty, especially in this perfume strength.

In the past a co-worker friend wore Organza and it was so nice on her. Her boyfriend called it something like Organza, a play on words, only...well you can guess! It was an apparent turn on to him!

If you like rich full bodied fragrances with a sweet vanilla base and some spicy floral notes Organza should be right up your alley, or rather boulevard.
This really is a diva of a fragrance. I'm going to devote more time to wearing this when the occasions present themselves.

Edit: Wearing this 20 year old perfume formula of Organza on this cloudy rainy chilly March day and a tiny drop is nuclear in strength. I am just wearing jeans and sweater but I feel so put together and classy in this gorgeous fragrance. It's just so full, posh, lush, womanly perfection.

LemonCake

One of the most beautiful perfume bottles I have ever seen, a real celebration of femininity and elegance.

As for my personal chemistry with Organza, I guess it was not meant to be. While the perfume opens wonderfully, with white florals and spices, it is soon overpowered with nutmeg that continues to dominate the scent deep into the creamy drydown. I am not the biggest fan of nutmeg, and I tolerate it only if it's blended with other complementary Christmas-y spices.

Nevertheless, even though it is not my personal pick, I still think Organza a wonderful, unique, and timeless perfume.

Mbrock

This is beautiful. I love it. It does go on a lot like Avons Tomorrow, which I also love, at first. (Tomorrow is more creamy oriental, Where as this is creamy floriental) It keeps that going & a gorgeous gardenia comes out on top of it. I was pleased with it at first but when that gardenia came out it was love. The sillage is medium. I wish the longevity were bit better at four hours but this is a rare case where im going to say I just dont care. Its worthy of having its own atomizer.

Harrisonpaulie1245

My maw maw used to wear this. And I don’t remember her wearing it but I assume she did wear it because it was in her perfume cabinet. Hers was vintage and the liquid turned a burnt orangey brown. I decided to purchase Organza because hers smelt so good. Well of course it was reformulated. It still smelt amazing but not as amazing as the one my maw maw had. I guess the reviews are true meaning that reformulation sometimes messes up the original beauty of fragrances.

sensous_5877

My mom smells like a GODDESS with this - that's why I can't stop sniffing her when I got to see her.

Organza has been reformulated (maybe a few times) - but we tolerate the reformulations as they were minimal.
And we still find it to be one of the best classy (floriental-arabic influenced) perfumes ever made for the market.

RoseGrande

How come some bottles are darker? I think this is the one I smelled at Ulta in 2016,and it was light colored, but not first light. Let me tell you, heaven on earth! But, I bought one on Ebay, and it was dark and smelled nothing alike besides some nutmeg. I want to get the one I saw at Ulta, but maybe it was legere? The notes here describe what I smelled more though.

GardeniaLover

Smells like vanilla ice cream, pure vanilla, sweet ice cream with some nuts inside it. Gourmand scent, a vanillic nutty, ice cream scent.
Picture soft white petals and creamy white vanilla ice cream with fresh nuts crushed inside, a lovely, sweet, white floral.

I did not like it but thinking it over, the scent is quite unique, mixing all the prominent white flowers, jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, honeysuckle, orange blossom. The arranging of this milky bouquet with subtle nutty notes and woody facets, then sprayed, covered in a thick layer of vanilla is wonderful. This creates a milky, sweet, woody effect that is both floral and gourmand.

Milk or lactonic facets can be recreated with white florals, that and adding a big vanilla note, this can make it very sensual and tender, like the smell of skin, like the scent of a person, to me at least. I said no but now it is on my to get list, because of its unique white floral bouquet in a woody base, and feeding on vanilla water. Delicious, sensual, wonderful...

AaronStar

I tried it today, I got the tuberose and the nutty facets straight away, the vanilla. It smelled cozy perhaps like an embrace, delicate, it just smells nice, with a gentle aura.
I got the amber, the tuberose/gardenia scent, the woody background, it is all there. It reminds me of a pure kiss, a warm embrace, creamy, floral, sweet.
But I think I was deceived by impressions, this smells like a nutty jasmine really, yes, this is not a gardenia scent, but more a jasmine scent with a hint of tuberose, amber is there too. So jasmine lovers look at Organza it is like a soft silky one....
It reminds me of J'dore, a very fresh, airy, lively, jasmine scent, with tuberose running in second and gardenia third, it is indeed a white floral perfume. It is addictive, narcotic is what some have said about such white florals, along the word indolic perhaps.

samantham-123

Oh Organza you smooth seductress you, where have you been all my life?
I foolishly ignored trying this delicious scent for the longest time for reasons that are beyond me.

This is the Dior addict conundrum all over again..i try the vintage and realise its amazing, then wonder how the hell im going to replace it once i run out lol.
On first application, Organza is a rich opulent, almost slightly soapy boquet of lush white florals done right; theres nothing indolic, nothing screetchy or synthetic, just perfect well blended florals. Then the nutmeg and spicyness comes in and gives it the slightest sweetness to balance out the flowers, the walnut is warm, creamy and..well nutty lol.
Everything melds so well together that once it dries i can't really pick out each individual note as nothing is too loud or overdone. She's strong, not a room filler, but I'm surrounded by a decadent cloud of spicy vanilla and gardenia.
This isn't " old lady-ish" ( i hate that saying anyway) but it is "old school", they sure don't make em like this anymore, it's the way oriental floral should be. I feel like that term gets thrown around a lot with perfumes these days, and most of the time they're just sweet floral sugar water with no real spice or character.
And can the bottle be any more 90's? lol.

Safe to say I already love this, ive been wearing it for less than an hour and i can't get enough of it's intoxicating aroma, I'm really not sure what im going to do once i run out of my little bottle but if theres anyone on here thats tried both vintage and new versions, it would be fantastic if they could msg me with any info on whether they're the same/ similar/ worth buying the new version.

Update: I can worry not, i couldn't help myself..i lashed right out and got another vintage bottle on ebay, its used so was within price range, and its a 50ml so that'll keep me goin for a while lol.

UPDATE: I feel like there's just so much more to say about this beautiful scent. I don't actually find it " sexy" or " seductive" or anything like that. Interestingly, i find it to be..calming, it makes me envision a woman who's wise from a life of bold choices and interesting experiences, a woman who laughes loudly and loves fiercely. She's laid back and relaxed and radiates a charismatic energy.
This is the type of woman i think of when i smell this fragrance. Its an intensely floral perfume with sweet spicy notes. Strong, long lasting, just sweet enough and oh so smooth. I love this.

AaronStar

Sophie is the same designer behind CK Beaty, another white floral mixed with woods such is the case here, Gardenia is my favorite flower and cannot wait to try this someday.

taureanrage69

This perfume is pretty and unique, I enjoy the nutmeg and walnut, along with a variety of woody notes in the base. That said, I have to be careful how and for how long I wear it due to the vanilla base, which in my nose anyway tends to take over after about 15 minutes. I love its flanker Indecence, which has an even stronger vanilla going on but for some reason is more tolerable and enjoyable. Longer lasting than most perfumes I have, I prefer to wear Organza with a few dabs on my wrists and under clothing, this is not one I'd want to spray, so I'm glad I have it in the mini size as I'd never use it up otherwise. I bought this not long after it came out because I thought the bottle was beautiful. I was hoping the perfume would be a bit better, but it isn't bad at all, just not a favorite.

fetishforperfume

As of November 2018, neither Organza nor Ysatis was to be found on the Givenchy website under women's fragrances. Discontinued?

churinl

Rootbeer!! That's the first thing that comes to mind when I put this on. I have read some reviews of Hypnotic Poison that also mention a root beer vibe. This is not a bad thing at all. I actually find it comforting! In the beginning, I detect the gardenia and it is really soft and pretty, but that is pretty much the only floral note that stands out to me. The vanilla and nutmeg dominate on me pretty much throughout the duration. Projection, sillage, and longevity are hefty, and Organza is most definitely a fragrance of the 90s. Fortunately, I happen to adore the fragrances of the 80s and 90s, so I am fine with her powerhouse presence. Right now she is a very strong like, with the definite potential to become a love as the days and nights grow colder. I am happy to have her in my collection!

raluu

Although I am a jasmine lover, this one is not for me,as I smell just heavy tuberose, not the fancy notes which are listed...

Phantomias

Organza opens with rich floral notes and the tiniest hint of sweet fruits. There's a slight similiarity to Ysatis - I wish it were stronger - but Organza doesn't linger as well as Y. The dry down is quick, unlike many older Givenchy scents Organza doesn't project too well.

Givenchy used to make big opulent perfumes, and Organza certainly is opulent. There's a tiny hint of spice to O, which makes the florals more interesting.

Organza is well blended and sophisticated. I don't think it's dated, but a person interested in light aquatic scents probably wouldnt' get on well with this perfume.
I like heavier scents and Organza suits me fine. It's got a lot of flankers, but for now I'll stick with the original.

Miss Fussy

This is the most beautiful, yet unique perfume out there. Since this was launched nothing else has come even close to being as beautiful as this.

Elegant, romantic and feminine. Men absolutely LOVE this on me.

Perfect for cold weather.

tamarijoy

I was gifted this perfume many years ago and hated it. for me it was too old, heavy andsweet in the wrong way. could never understand the hype around it.

justfloral

Not my fav.
Candied carrot + soaked in honey through the night + and finally sprinkled with nutmeg. Spicy, sweet, very long lasting, oriental, "golden".

tinkerbelllx

What is that poem that goes, “Girls are made of Sugar and spice”?
Well, I’m convinced my DNA is made out of: gardenia, tuberose and jasmine. Along with soft vanilla and amber-woodsy notes in the heart. I try to wear this perfume as much as possible. The bottle is gorgeous and the juice is sexy and classic. I love this scent.

tittertat

Had this but never wore it. It was a gift...Too cloying/ sweet/ yellow, not my type of perfume but not a bad perfume. Just not for me.

BarefootContessa

Sex bomb~~~ Not an everyday weapon ;-), This one announces that you're not fooling around - you are used to getting attention. I get gardenia, vanilla and green notes... I think this is great for all year round, but not for work. Definitely not unisex in my opinion.

Tresillage

This one has many of my favorite notes so a mystery why the sum of its parts is a little underwhelming to me - thus the like vs love rating. It's a lovely scent - bright, happy, spicy floral. Worth purchasing just for the bottle!

Lilacs&Lavender

Organza just makes me smile. If you like sweet white floral fragrances, which do not veer into outrageous oriental territory, please give it a test. I don't find that the vanilla overpowers. As a whole, Organza is powerful however.

I do find the juice and bottle incongruous. Whilst I adore the voluptuous bottle which reminds me of an Egyptian priestess, it doesn't really match the fragrance itself IMO, which is innocently uplifting.

Why call a fragrance organza - that whispy formal fabric ideal for brides and proms, then match it with a slinky curvy bottle and intricately carved gold lid? The design seems more weighty, and would have made a wonderful statement if it contained an incense bomb like Shalimar.

Nevertheless, both the juice and flacon are gorgeous and worthy of pride of place on an antique, highly polished wooden duchess with trifold mirrors, all the better to admire Organza from all sides.

Organza by Givenchy- A very powerful and flowery fragrance. It explodes with Gardenia, Tuberose, Honeysuckle, Orange blossom and Jasmine. They are carried forth with Powdery Iris and bright carnation wrapped in Lime, and woods making this a very crisp and nasal fragrance at first application. I call these kind of fragrances 'sneezy' fragrances, because they make you feel like sneezing when first applied. This is a Ladies fragrance for you guys, like me, who like to wear some of the women's fragrances, this one is daring, if you want to go with it. It did , however, draw many women close to me, when I wore it today, women who didn't normally get close to me like that before, so use that as a guidance if you want to wear this and smell like a bouquet of fresh flowers, If it draws the women and that's what you want, by all means Wear the flowery frag. It worked for me. But please ladies and gentlemen, beware, spray this sparingly. I sprayed only one very small spray on the back of my left hand, and that was all that was needed because that tiny little splat, projected like a nuclear bomb. This is an ENORMOUS perfume folks. Also, you must be warned this WILL last 12 plus hours. It does mellow after about 2 hours, but still projecting in a toned down not as bright sneezy way. It becomes quite pleasant after 2 hours. The brightness of Iris, carnation and lime, fade away, leaving only the warm creaminess of gardenia, tuberose and jasmine, swirling with musk and vanilla and only hints of woods. It is now 12 hours after spraying that one tiny spritz and I can still smell this fragrance, however, it is now a skin scent and quite a pleasant one too. If you move about, it will still leave a trail. Some of you know how I love fragrances that last and project, and this is one of those.
I highly recommend Organza by Givenchy to those of you who love fragrances that project and leave a trail as you go about. But be ever so stingy with the application and you'll enjoy a lovely flowery fragrance all day and night. Maybe if you try spraying a glass dish first and then just dab your finger onto the fragrance and dot yourself lightly with this one, and do so maybe two hours before you leave to your engagement, that should do the trick, because this is a very lovely floral fragrance once it dries down.
Organza By Givenchy- Strong Floral and Long lasting-Loud and In Your Face at first, but after she's had a few drinks, she mellows to a sultry, purring, beautiful listener.

kipi.chan

I just recently acquired this fragrance. I always thought it was outdated and for grandmas. Then decided to try it, initial thought.. very strong. There's something gourmand about this scent its just soo sooo good. Now am keeping it for special occasions, afraid of running out. Addictive!!!

divakitty24

I remember this lovely fragrance on a friends " Mom " She loved to do her hair and makeup , she was always put together , even though she basically wore a pair of jeans and blouse . On those occasions when she really got dolled up , wore a skirt or a dress , she'd ask her daughter and I what should she wear for her scent . We loved playing makeup , and dress up , and she let us , loved her . Her husband was a lovely man that spoiled all us females . He gifted her with presents , we got little gifts. He had bought her the full organza set , lotion and soap ~ She let us spray our wrists with it , I was totally in love , lust , for a 12-14 year old teen to think of those words back then , well , it was an overwhelming emotion for me . I know this might sound a little bit nutty , but truly Chanel no 5 ~ Joy ~ were 2 of the top scents , she had them , to me they stunk , not Organza ~ If Amarige is Marriage , then Organza is the Honeymoon ~ I bought this on a blind buy , only stating this because the frosted bottle vs the clear glass one , were both a changed formula or just one ? ~ It came rather quickly and I had waited only a few days , to see if it was as I remembered . I had my morning shower to start my day on the run , but I never leave until after my spritz of scent has time to calm down , this one as it dried down I could pick out the Gardenia and Vanilla , a mild infusion of Tuberose & Nutmeg . I did get a bit of Cedar but it is like an afterthought on me , I'm thrilled , we don't get along , if it is any heavier it overwhelms any other note and that is all I can smell . As others have stated you know right away if this is true , it is , but I did not remember the smell of alcohol ever . So , I have the new reformulated version or my frosted glass bottle is an older one that saw sunlight or another kind of heat source . It has staying power which is wonderful , I dislike having to spritz on more once I'm leaving for the day , although I have a few purse size rollerball and travel sprays . I hardly ever need unless it is light like Trish McEvoy's Blackberry and Vanilla { love that scent , it gets compliments } . I will remember every time I wear this my friends Mom , and how she set me on my path of love toward perfume , makeup , and stylish clothing . My Mom wore very few , she did not understand the seasonal need of wearing a scent certain months , like her wearing Ciara year round or Tabu . I guess some would say it is okay , I just know what I know , what I've learned , it works for me . I'm happy I have this again , I wish to give a big scented hug to those reviewers that had me missing this lovely " Scentual " and going on the hunt for it ~ This is exactly that , a big warm hug ~ ///=^ } ~

Where do I begin in my endeavor to explain this my feelings and experience with this most incredible fragrance? I received a mini size bottle at one point, I can't remember when, but I was a fool because it has been sitting on one of my perfume trays (I have a bunch - I know a lot of you will know just what I mean!), never having been tried, for years. I Finally corrected my foolish error and tried it relatively recently. OMGoodness! I don't know if it is my chemistry or what, but once this sumptuous frag hit my skin, it was like magic. I know that sounds crazy or weird, but I don't know how else to put it. Life changing maybe? This is one perfume that definitely makes you FEEL so SEXY! And we all need to feel sexy more often, am I right? I have added this one to my short list of "very faves" along with Elizabeth Arden Red Door, Ralph Lauren Safari, Estee Lauder Beautiful, Estee Lauder Knowing, Ralph Lauren Romance and I can't forget Shalimar. I am a big fan of oriental florals, but I really think this is in its own category. Warm, a little nutty, spicy, PERFECT for Autumn and WInter. If you haven't tried it, do so! Enjoy every sniff!

PricklyAndHot

Most of all I feel nuts, gardenia, woodsy notes and a hint of vanilla in this fragrance. The fragrance is classy and it reminds retro, but not too much. Floral notes are not intensive, imho. It's more nut and woody. Not very sweet, but warm. I like the fragrance in general. But it's not kind of nuts that I like.

harperhd

Elegant and sensual. Creamy, complex spice makes this feminine, white floral oriental a favorite. This warm fragrance is more suited for fall and winter, but I wouldn’t hesitate choosing Organza for special events during the spring or summer. I find this fragrance calms and uplifts my mood, too. A classic for adult women and not deserving of the “old lady scent” label, IMO. Slightly powdery, but not baby powdery. A tad too pricey for me to commit to for daily wear, but definitely worth having in my collection. The bottle is beautiful as well!

Violet_Rose

Lovely. I have a vintage frosted bottle of edp and am wearing it today. A gorgeous dark orangey pink liquid. It is a joyful white flower with some woodiness which tempers the sweet so it is softer and more sophisticated. The addition of other typically Givenchy notes gives it a joyful edge which is feminine and warm. For a woman who enjoys sensuous spicy and flowery notes intermingled with a little wood. I love this one. It touches me in all the right places.
