Peony has never been my favorite flower, I find it sharp, soapy and brigh "sophisticated woman's scent" and I don't feel like that so much. But this...I really get that caramelized ginger (I love to eat them) and it makes this scent interesting, even a bit gourmand and yet the peony is definitely what shines in this scent! Excellent, surprising combination, I wouldn't call this boring by any means. If I ever want a peony, it's this!

Little Principessa

If you love ginger, this is for you! I get almost only sweet ginger and some orange, nothing else. I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is. It's a simplistic nice ginger perfume.

Alva2023

I got a tester of this for my girlfriend and it's very nice! I prefer soft and fruity scents, and I usually find ginger medicinal, but it's delicious and sweet in this. The peony is a perfect match with the ginger. Downsides: it's so weak. I can barely smell it and the sillage is nonexistent, and after two hours it's completely gone. And the cedar base is very artificial. If I could find something stronger but similar it could be my new everyday scent.

Morgan45

I got a sample of this and wasn't sure about it, so I spritzed some on yesterday to test it out. It's OK, someone mentioned fabric softener and yes, I get this. Sort of a warm, zingy, clean soapy scent. I still wasn't completely sold. BUT, when my husband got home from work and hugged me he said, like it just popped out of his mouth before he could stop it, "you smell good". Why is this a big deal? Because I own well over 50 perfumes and he NEVER compliments my fragrance. It's just not his thing. SO I guess it smells good on me and I may need a bottle. LOL

Jadelynn

The ginger note in this is a BEAST. I was expecting this to be sweeter because of the candied ginger, but it's a very dry ginger that overpowers everything. I've tried layering it with other frags to try to give it some nuance or balance, but the ginger cuts through everything I've tried. It's disappointing because based on the notes, this is exactly the sort of fragrance I love, but in execution it doesn't work on me at all.

Rating: 💮🧼
Do I like it: Meh
Who it is: A laundromat enthusiast
Smells I get: bitter smell, fabric softener, peony, hint of ginger
Meyer's Briggs type: ISTJ, ISFJ

Eau d'fabric softener with a hint of ginger.
Sharp musk and bitter soap on the nose, softens out to a "I wash my clothes 😏 regularly 😏😏🧼" later.

Venussweden

This is my ”sporty fresh” perfume. Perfect for outdoor activities when you want to feel energized and fresh and clean… I’m 40+ and feel younger, more vibrant, more alive (and in better shape 🤣) when I wear this.

kush222

I think it is so pretty and springy and fresh! It can smell a bit astringent initially, but it settles into a fresh peony scent. At the end of the day, I get whiffs of a cozy powdery base that I love so much. I have found myself reaching for this every day since the weather hit spring temperatures.

tanss

Only peony. If you love peony, this is it. I barely get the ginger in this.

bringprivateaccordback

hated this. one spray on my wrist made me nauseous. got no ginger from this, just heavy alcohol, dried florals and the strongest lemon cleaning spray ever.

Aeternitas

Twilly eau Ginger is a fresh floral with a spicy and sweet zing of ginger.
It is very clean smelling, and yes, like many have described, it's reminiscent of hand soap or the complimentary shampoos in hotels.
I don't find this to be a bad thing; it's done very elegantly in this version of Twilly.
This does not smell like cheap cleaning products on me at all.

All the notes are distinct and easy to pick out, but they cooperate together very beautifully as a whole. Something about it has a honey-like quality.
Perfect for warm days, especially Spring, or the days where you're feeling quite minimal or undecided. It's an "easy" wear.

Not my thing, but it's quite nice and it lasts!

Janini

I decided to purchase a full size bottle after testing a sample of this fragrance today. On my skin it smells so fresh so clean and sweet soapy honey liked. This how I like my hair and my skin smell like. Wish Hermes create shampoo or soap in this scent profile too.

ekkah

I blind bought this and don't regret it..... BUT I will say the comparisons to air freshener/dryer sheets/soap are certainly fitting, and I was almost put off by that completely. Once you get over that initial hump though it becomes something really classy and feminine in my opinion. I love smelling it on myself and I can imagine being comforted by the warm cleanliness if I hugged someone wearing this . that said, not so gingery , mainly floral and clean & it desperately needs your skin in order to smell like more than a dryer sheet. don't test on paper!!

Tasherapd

I never really cared for the Twilly line until I got a 10ml sample of this and it was love at first sniff. The ginger note is very realistic. I didn’t know rose was a note until reading the notes on fragrantica. I say that to say that the rose is very gentle which I prefer.

Vellocet

sweet, slightly warm spicy candied ginger. Very linear, but in a good way. I love this little gem, except the cap. Longevity is so so and sits close to the skin. Nevertheless beautiful! If you are searching for a straight up ginger perfume this is defitnitely for you

Juhhcarneiro2

Smells like happiness in a bottle, the best summer days when I was a kid, clean and fresh. Maybe it smells like childhood, I dont know why, but it reminds me something from 90s. Beautiful scent, nostalgic, vintage, the best of twilly line.

amanda0727

The first one I tried out f this line was Tuitti, and I can see now how similar they all are. Smells good, but I agree with one of the previous reviewer's comments, this whole line smells like it is more suited as a room spray.

Kelz23

Bought this for my fiancé. She likes it. I like it on her. I don’t get old lady vibes. I get a clean sweet candied ginger. Not everything has to be super complex to smell good

Kinga_

Unfortunately, it smells like an air freshener. I gave it a few tries but I just don't get it, it smells cheap and just... wrong.

TessaG

She is sophisticated yet young, lovely and cozy. Slightly floral blended beautifully with ginger and cedar, she projects well without being offensive. Decent sillage, good lasting power, and a standout among all the 2020 cast-backs to the '80's that seem to be flooding the market. She dares to be different. Not a safe blind buy, though - the ginger and floral may not be for all. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy unique standout scents for the cooler fall and winter.

scenchanting

the scent so unique for me and I prefer this ginger over the other one that many of my friend recommend me.

I don't know but the ginger scent that I never smelled before make I fell in love and I'm so obsessed with this perfume.

Nothing I can say anymore it's 10/10 for me!!! <3

Amen! Hallelujah!

Low key obsessed with this clean soapy slightly sweet yet very crisp and zesty at the same time Hermes gem! It gives comfort and clean feeling! Absolute LOVE from me!

liat

Not a fan. Too much old lady florals and way too little ginger abd pizzazz make this very unremarkable. I wanted so bad to love it but it's just a boring floral with nothing going for it.

GrenadeGirl

I really can't mark this down too hard because personal preference doesn't make something bad, but to me this is SO much like old Yardley soaps and perfumes from the 1980s that it is not funny!!!

Put simply, can't get past the fact that as soon as I smelled it I thought 'old lady perfume'.

Maybe that is a good thing to you.. it vibes more 'average floral' than ginger.. but it is still quite a light scent with excellent longevity. It is just definitely not for me.

D@ne

I don't understand this one - I don't really smell ginger, and not nearly as much ginger as the OG Twilly. Rather, it smells like a common fougere accord, which was well hidden in the original - waaaay in the background -where it belonged.

No woody ambers as in the Poivree flanker, which is a plus I guess.

Just get the original - or the new Tutti flanker if you must have the bottle with the white chapeau.

Sad_pandaZ

I first got this one in late spring of this year. I really liked it in store but when I got it and tried it at home it felt ...stuffy and powdery. Because I loved it so much (I also really like the original Twilly) I decided to put it aside and tey it again when it was less hot and humid outside. Well now it's fall, and I wear it almost everyday. Ginger reminds me of baked goods, I think this is why I associated to fall. Anyway if like me you thought it was too intense for summer give it an other try once it cools down!

op81

this just smells like a ginger shot you get in the morning by your mum. it's okay, if you like those root smells of ginger then go for this. but just saying you can't smell much more other than the ginger. nice for like a beach day fragrance

Nestled in the heart of Hermès’ renowned Twilly line, Eau Ginger asserts itself as a more concise and unique entity, radiating a captivating aura that distinguishes it prominently from its counterparts. A blend of aromatic tales, it is a sublime reminder of the rich, multifaceted culture of Thailand. At first waft, Eau Ginger envelops the senses with a resplendent array of refreshing ginger— a zesty overture that dances around with both vigor and elegance. This vibrant note is reminiscent of the serene landscapes and the flavorful spices that abound in Thailand, subtly evoking the nation’s warm and rich cultural tapestry.

Each note of Eau Ginger is woven with meticulous precision, creating a harmonious blend that feels more succinct, rendering its peers in the Twilly line slightly more diffuse in comparison. This clarity in scent profile illuminates the fragrance's distinct personality, resonating with an unmistakable uniqueness that is both enlightening and entrancing. It dances in the air with a lively swirl of spicy and floral narratives. It paints the air with brush strokes of exotic allure and graceful charm, leaving an unforgettable imprint on the wearer's soul.

For aficionados of unique and concise fragrances and lovers of culturally rich aromatic tales, Twilly d'Hermès Eau Ginger is indeed a fragrant jewel worth exploring.

Quickly becoming a Hermes-fan and catching up at last, a real con must that this apparently isn't unisex, because it hits me right were I want it and I'm looking far and deep for scents that I love. With a bottle design like that it had to be for females only, but I swear, it is cute.

barry1052

very very clean I love it!! As a soapy fragrance lover I didn't expect to love this, tried a few times be4 purchasing a FB at Sephora it was too candied ginger.

But when I bought this last week sprayed it on again, the candied ginger mixed perfectly with the peony floral accord!!!! turns out to be a super super clean and laundry like scent I love it! got complimented today by a friend at hospital!

office friendly all year-round, but have to overspray a bit to get the performance!

theprincessxoxo

classy and clean scent i absolutely adore it! makes me smell like i came straight out of the shower while that ginger note bring complexity to the fragrance. just a fair warning the ginger note can be a bit sharp at first but on my skin it definitely settles down nicely! it's my signature scent and although it more of a summer scent i do love wearing it all year round!

Ground hound

Very aldehydic which is not mentioned in the notes. If you are a fan of strong soapy notes (which I am) you should try this.
About the candied ginger...I guess it is there?
This perfume is beautiful in its comforting clean sweet soapiness, with a touch of timber, but the ginger would not be the main note here at all.
A very optimistic, comforting, pleasant, clean scent with a Solid aldehydic (soapy) side, which again, is strangely omitted in the description.

MademoiselleMaya

Great response from males - ginger loud in its freshness gives it a cologne vibe, but strong in intensity of the fresh sensation. I would consider it genderless. If I would own it, it would get snatched by a male.

gelkita

Best version of the whole Twilly line IMO (I guess I don’t like the others as the pepper is too loud).

Nice everyday casual don’t know what to wear scent, unfortunately doesn’t project much, too skin scent for me but I love it enough to want it in my collection + it can double as a bed scent too 👍🏻

I wish it was a tad less sweet, it is more candied ginger, it lacks the ginger bitterness.
After a few days test, it is a pass for me.

kperfume

You know the time when you just scrubbed off some uncomplimentary scent and need a diversion. Or the time when you felt like you have nothing to wear because nothing fits.. Or the gloomy 'don't want to work' feeling... THIS is a perfect pick you up and transport you into carefree happiness scent. But only if you like ginger. I think candied ginger is exactly what does it for me - this carefree, young happiness. Very good for hot weather too - that ginger pops off the skin and complements the sun. Immediately puts you into a great mood. Love, love, love

thecellophaneflower

It look me so long to sample this because the original Twilly isn't my jam. But wow...absolutely lovely. Fresh, watery, with a subtly sweet ginger twist. Clear Hermes DNA here.

Happyme2009

I've never had any of the Twilly scents, and I never sampled any. Based on the fact that I already have lots of tuberose in my collection, and I adore roses but I am not too keen on patchouli, I decided to blindly ordered this one.
It arrived today, and it made me smile. The bottle looks so small but so adorable, the colours of the ribbon against the while cap makes me think of sunshine. Upon first spraying it I got the candy ginger. It is not a fresh zingy ginger, I was expecting it to resemble the Origins Ginger Essence, but it doesn't. That is is freshly shaved root, while this is crystallized ginger. Peony came after it, and the candy ginger melted into the floral scent. At this point, I was still loving my new perfume. And, not long after, the perfume turned fresh, as in fresh drying in the wind laundry, but thankfully I didn't experience the detergent others have mentioned. This is probably when the cedar kicked in. It's still very pleasant, but it lacks the energy it had in beginning.
Silage is moderate, lasting power similar. I find this scent elegant for daytime, clean enough for work environments, playful without being juvenile, overall I think I would use it quite a bit. I have a quite large collection and it doesn't smell like anything else I own. I am a fan of Hermes in general, this was a pleasant surprise for me, so now I really want to try the other two in the series.

kerriashleyc

Ginger candy mixed with a freshness, it sounds odd but it works. Sophisticated but not *mature*, not avant garde but a step out from the norm. Great as an everyday fragrance fantastic lasting power, compliment getter all around 10.

shushkin

What a shame. The description sounds wonderful but on my fusion vegetarian skin it is rather synthetic. Peony and sweet ginger are not particularly happy together in this lovely retro bottle.
My past experience of the peony note is that it's quite peppery on me. Ms Nagel is probably a meat eater and can still have babies.
It's a classy scent so maybe it suits more elegant folk.
I will continue my search for a bright, sweet ginger fragrance with a touch of vanilla and spice.

Ardenia

I wanted to love this, but it straight up smelled like a kitchen cleaning product on my skin... I think ginger might not agree with my skin chemistry; I will have to re-test. The dry down was beautiful though, very comforting.

Jenbug23

Fresh ginger soap and I love it. I mainly use it after an invigorating shower and on rainy days. Comforting and perfect to chill at home and curl up.

Lotte_Liese

This is a warm, spicy unisex fragrance that honestly smells like crystallised ginger. I love to chop crystallised ginger and add it to my morning muesli for that bit of kick, but I have no intention of smelling like it.

charmims

Upon spraying, it smelled like I just opened a bottle of Head and Shoulders shampoo. A little later, there is the hint of sharp, freshly sliced ginger, but it only lasts for a minute. When it dries, it smells like freshly laundered money.

emeradora

I wasn't expecting much from this fragrance, but I honestly ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. The opening is bold, warm, and feminine, like a sweet ginger shampoo I would have loved as a teenager. I can understand why many compare it to dryer sheets or cleaning products, but I don't agree. There's definitely a zestiness to this scent, but it still feels more warm than fresh, to my nose at least. After the ginger calms down, it's reminiscent of a powdery cedar-scented candle after a bubble bath. This scent lasts around 8 hours with strong projection, and while I wouldn't buy a full bottle, I'll enjoy it while my sample lasts.

Hermés Twilly Eau Ginger Edp:

🗣Tbh, I Was Actually Shocked At How Good & Absolutely Beautiful This Twilly Fragrance Actually Is!! And Tbh I Actually Much Prefer This One To The Original Twilly Edp!! So Much So, That Im Only After Ordering Myself Another 50ml Bottle To Take With Me On Holiday To Spain, As I've Been Wearing This Fragrance For The First Time Today (Outside Temp Sitting At 24° And Feeling Extremely Clammy) And Yet This Perfume Has Kept Me Feeling So Clean & Shower Fresh All-Day Long!! Weather Like This, I Usually Reach For My Old Faithful Hot Weather Friend (Ô de Lancôme)!! For That Perfect Zingy Up-Lifting Freshness Blast!!

This Fragrance Really Does Have A Kind Of CLASSIC-Grown Up Vibe To It, As If You Reached For A Fizzy Lemon Seltzer, With Some Freshly Cut Fine Ginger Added To Give It A Real Zing Factor!! This Is A Really Unique Fragrance, And Bet It Would Actually Feel Amazing Being Spritized Onto My Flesh/Skin Straight Outta The Refrigerator (A Tip I Use When On Holiday) And Don't See Why It Would'nt Work With This Little Beauty!! On First Spray, I get The Most Refreshing Lemony/Citrusy Blast Which Lasts Around 15-20 mins, Followed By A Unique Freshly Cut Rose-Peony/Floral Vibe, And Then The Zingy Ginger/Candied Ginger Comes Forward To Lift, n Liven & Really Freshen The Over All Fragrance Up!!, The Dry Down Then Adds Woody Cedar Into The Mix, "Not Too Woody Either I Must Add", But All So Well Balanced And Perfectly Blended It's Unreal!! But There Again It's A Hermés Fragrance, And They Don't Settle For Second Best Ever!! I Just Absolutely LOVE Everything About This Perfume, And Would'nt Change Anything About It!! Lasting Power Is Also Superb On My Skin Giving Me Around 13-14hrs Off Wear!! I Honestly Look Forward Till Wearing This Beauty And Getting To Know Her Even Better As The Long Summer Day's Start To Linger!! I Rate This Perfume As 10/10!! And Say Well Done Hermés Indeed!! A Great Twist On The Original Twilly Edp, & The Design Of The White Bowler Hat Cap!! Is Just ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!! Giving The Already Classy Twilly Bottles A Little Bit Of A Difference To The Other's In The Range! Simply SUPERB!!!! 😍😘💕💖💖💓

mistyblob

I expected a lighter, more modern or youthful smell but it's not really that - more of a "classic" perfume that immediately reminded me of my grandma. The ginger notes aren't really there at first spray or at least not as much as the name primes you to expect, but I still enjoy the smell. Good for daily wear and broadly applicable in my opinion.

latafan

Okay, this one took me for a ride. Let me preface by saying I'm a bit of a Hermès fangirl. I own a whole bunch of their fragrances. It's one of my favorite houses.

But this one... This may just one be of the sharpest most cleansing agent-like openings I've ever smelled in any perfume ever. It's really like just walking into a just a bathroom that has just been cleaned with industrial strength cleanser. The ginger here is not candied or dried, it's really like having a juicy freshly cut slice shoved up your nose. So my initial reaction really was this: WTF, Hermès?!

After 5 minutes Mr. Clean thankfully takes his leave and gets replaced by a somewhat green soapy floral blend, that strongly reminded me of an attar that I own, Romance by Rasasi. They're not identical, mind, but alternately smelling one on one arm and the other on my other arm, the vibe is so similar, it hits pretty much the same spot.

Up to this point it has little to nothing to do with the original Twilly for me and it's only around the hour mark that I finally recognize a shadow of the OG this flanker is based on. The final drydown is mild soft powdery ginger with a gentle sweetness that reminds me of how Twilly would smell on the next day if you didn't take a shower before going to bed. While the OG is a lot more dense, sweet and powdery with a delicious albeit slightly edgy candied ginger, Twilly Eau Ginger once dried down is the more light, wearable and polite version of Twilly. As compared to Twilly it is certainly easier to wear to office or on hot summer days. You have to be willing and able to sit through the opening.

It feels like you have that very very eccentric aunt who is always wearing the most outrageous flashy clothes, but for your sake she concedes to wearing a bit more low-key clothes for your wedding ceremony.

Longevity is good on me, easily lasts a day, but there is not really a sillage to speak of. Solid like, but personally, I wouldn't go for a full bottle.

Amelia Katla

A woman at the store asked if I wanted to try it and sprayed it on me. Some parts got sprayed on the sleeve of my jacket. When I tell you it smelled like this for WEEKS I am not lying. this perfume hs a performance like no other, honestly very impressive.
I did like it, but it was not for me. Reminded me a lot of my grandmother, who was very fond on ginger.

tgirl1991

I love this scent - I think it's very unique and complex and I don't think there's anything I've smelled that smells anything like it. It smells the closest to the original Twilly fragrance, but maybe more of an "intense" version because it isolates some of the predominant notes. It still extremely balanced though, so while it does smell gingery, it's still quite floral and the sweetness reads more as citrusy with just a slight spicy punch. It gives me vibes of drinking lemon seltzer on a hot summer day.

My main complaint is that a little does NOT go a long way. Normally I can spray perfume at this price point 2-3 times and I will be good for several hours, but when I do that with this one, you can barely smell it so I end up spraying it 4 times directly on my skin for the scent to permeate. I have read in other reviews that this could just be because the bottle I have is new.

Scent Description: Floral, Sweet with Ginger
Sillage: Arms Length - more perfume needed
Longevity: Low-Medium - 3 hours
Presentation: Twilly Bottle but Yellow and White

anntdangg

Sharp peony in the opening but quicly fades and blends nicely with ginger, making this perfume soapy, fresh, airy.
Ginger here is not a ambery warm spicy.
Projection and longevity is good.
An inoffensive and mass appealing perfume.

Elfin Will

This perfume is "Love from the first pshit"!

Fruity and spicy fragrance, ideal for the beautiful days. It is light and puts you in a good mood! It reminds me a lot of a perfume/mist (or a drink?) that I know very well but I can't remember it...

However, it can be a bit boring because it is one-dimensional, and its evolution is very linear, unlike the original Twilly which alternates olfactory notes throughout the day.

Moreover, to my nose, the drydown (at the end of the day and especially the next day) is identical to the original Twilly, and I really have trouble to tell them apart!

8/10

EDIT: Now I know what it reminds me of! I have a shewing gum on Mango and Ginger flavour... It smells just like Twilly Eau Ginger! XD

EpicureOrHedonist?

Really wanted to give this a chance, and another, and another (I asked my fiance to wear it too).
It is... dryer sheets. Like the overbearing vanilla-cum-perfume nuclear store-brand ones (I bought a box of said dryer sheets once and had to store it double-sealed, downstairs until I could figure out what to do with it). It lasts forever, so there's that. I'm not sure if I'd use it if it were a dryer sheet as the screech (mid note of the peony combined with top note of synthetic-leaning ginger) doesn't really let up throughout.

Fiance liked it as a fresh, cozy scent until he wore it himself. He also found it relentless and a bit overbearing. Can't attribute it to over-spraying as we're both 1-spray and enjoy. Tried on both skin and fabric to no avail.

Edit: if you perhaps want something to freshen up a guestroom or storage closet that doesn't get much use, this could work? Still, room or linen spray would work more optimally here. I'm just trying to think of SOME use for this as it's not a *bad* scent.

Azisai-

This is lighter than the original Twilly, or maybe I'm just saying that because I think it's better than the original

Very soft and inoffensive, the ginger really isn't a "spicy" ginger, it's a clean, sweet ginger. Even if you're not the biggest fan of ginger/fresh spicy I still urge you to try this bc it's airy and carries around this pleasant trail of slightly-shampoo/fabric softener spice. Excellent choice for work, school, going outside for icecream, whatever. It's also nostalgia-inducing, not sure what it is but nostalgia factor always boosts my mood imo. Only downside is that my skin eats up the fragrance and it's pretty much gone after an hour or so :(

kiddo221998

Fresh and uplifting but kind of boring won't buy the full bottle

PixieDevil

I liked this at first & was tempted to buy a full bottle on the spot. I’m glad I purchased a mini instead because now every time I wear it, I’m reminded of someone’s comment that it smells like the pink hand soap that used to be so popular in those hot air balloon-shaped dispensers in public restrooms. This is that fragrance 100%. I’m looking for ways to layer it so it doesn’t have that sharp cleaner smell, but so far… meh.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

This smells very masculine and spicy. My sister gave this to me for my birthday a couple of years ago, not knowing what sort of perfumes and perfume notes that I like at the time.

As with all Hermés fragrances that I have smelt, this smells disgusting! It has a strong ginger smell and you can smell a lot of wood, which is the exact opposite of the sort of perfumes that I like, being a white floral, yellow floral, violet and pure unadulterated rose girl.

I don't know how most people on here seem to think this perfume would be a feminine fragrance? It's very masculine to my nose and not how I want to smell in any way, like ever! This perfume just makes me gag.

Iri1

It smells amazing, very fresh. Perfect for summer!

CoffeeLuva

I LOVE this flanker. My first stop on the Twilly journey was with Eau Poivree'. However, that drydown is still questionable on me.
Then I decided to buy the travel size of Eau Ginger. It smells better on me than Eau Poivree. It is lightly spiced but overall fresh and bright. I look forward to wearing this through all seasons to see how it changes.

wafflesandsyrup

I will go against the grain here and will be the one who says it: toilet freshener. It's a very sharp, very citrusy, lemony toilet freshener. It smells kind of cheap. It doesn't smell revolting, or anything. It just smells like cheap air freshener in a clean hospital's bathroom that is being constantly cleaned with chemicals.

NataliePee

Lovely and more complex than I expected. I smell fresh laundry hanging on the line on a bright spring day when the buds are just starting to open, fresh green floral air but not overly pollinated. I tend not to like florals or perfumes that lean towards that "generic perfume" fragrance, but this one walks that line so delicately and is so fresh that I find it really charming.

I don't see a scenario where this would be unpleasant, because it's just as much a laundry day spent in pajamas scent as it is a wedding day scent to me. It's elegant but fun, like a barefoot, carefree princess running through a dewy field getting the hem of her dress dirty. I'm surprised that I like this but I find everything about it, especially the bottle with the little hat, to be really charming.

Pixie At Heart

This was a very surprising find for me for a novel reason. There was a shower gel in the 90ies I was totally obsessed with and I wished they made a perfume of it - to this day I still remembered the smell and when I've tried this I thought wow, this is 100% it! Thanks universe, never saw this one coming. What an absolutely gorgeous composition, I never tire of it.

tomato12

This scent captivated me, and I exclaimed with excitement over how wonderful it smelled! It's fresh but warm spicy (which is what it is described as) Surprisingly, the ginger note is not overpowering; instead, it gives the ideal amount of "spice" to the fragrance while remaining floral and sweet. Out of all the Twilly fragrances, this one is my favourite! The candied ginger note sticks out to me. 9/10

laviebunny

I used to hate ginger — and I don’t think ginger fragrance works for me. Sniffed and sprayed it on a perfume counter, turns out I love it! I got myself the decant to make sure once again, and I’m planning to get the full sized bottle soon.

It has candied ginger aroma (not the raw ginger), and the floral notes make a perfect combo.

pimentosugars

This is a perfume I can wear every single day whatever I am doing. I should probaly invest in some as a signature scent. The floral/ginger combo works beautifully on me, it's cheerful, fresh without hurting my head, stays close to the skin so no-one is being suffocated, easy to wear to an office, a meeting, out with friends, it's light and sparkling, what's not to like? Not the greatest longevity (a general feature I find with Hermes perfumes) but it hangs on in there for a couple of hours. When it fades it has a very pleasant soapy/barely detectable marine quality under the florals. Not really a winter perfume, not really a night time perfume, but suits me in all weathers!

i haven't smelled the original twilly. but judging from Eau Ginger, i must not like the scent of ginger. this is annoying to my nose. It's alright but i'm not into it personally.

Suicidal_wizard

Absolutely gorgeous. Opens with beautiful fresh nearly citrusy ginger and quickly develops into skin close scent thats all about candied ginger and very delicate florals.

Enrium

The original Twilly is a favourite scent of mine. Featuring an unusual tuberose-ginger accord, it is effortlessly elegant and garners compliments. The flankers deviate from it somewhat - neither Eau Poivrée nor Eau Ginger feature tuberose, but both are spicy. TEG is - unsurprisingly - a ginger-dominant scent, so as a result, it has more in common with the original Twilly than TEP, a peppery-rose scent. I haven't come across too many scents that feature ginger as a dominant note, but TEG is a good example. Sweetly spicy with a slight floral nuance and a woody base, it is slightly unusual, but underwhelming.

TEG is ginger-dominant from initial spray, initially smelling like freshly peeled and chopped ginger root. Photorealistic and natural, it reminds me of The Body Shop ginger shampoo. As it develops, an airy floral note emerges, breaking up the ginger somewhat. It doesn't last however, and the ginger becomes more candied as it develops. The cedar in the base emerges after a little while, grounding things somewhat. It fades quite quickly, becoming a whisper of ginger on my skin. Sillage is moderate and longevity is weak.

Feminine-leaning, though perhaps unisex based on personal preference, TEG could perhaps be worn in spring/summer as an alternative to citrus. However, while TEG is made from good-quality, natural-smelling ingredients and has points of interest - namely featuring ginger as a main note - it is nowhere near as good as my beloved Twilly. In fact, neither flanker comes close. It also loses points for its limited performance. 2.5/5.

BoryanaB

I have the original Twilly, the Poivree and this one, Ginger, as well. I can say without any doubt that the original is incomparably better than the flankers. And ironically I detect more ginger in the original than I do in TG. TG is too weak for my taste and TP is too spicy.

leri

I perceived it as fresh spicy, maybe. But I can't perceive it as warm spicy in any way. It is fresh and differentiates from generic "soap wise" and "citrus wise" scents, so I believe it is extremely difficult to bother someone during warm summer, instead it is friendly, yet distinct and elegant. I love ginger scents but I prefer more complex note structures. Still, I could go for it during hot Mediterranean summer. I would love to smell it on my friends.

alkelpie

Smells literally like a hand soap with sea freshness smell 🤭

sayajp

I loved the fresh spicy smell when I tried at the store. after using multiple times I started feeling like it's more masculine. my friends liked it and told me it's definitely for women, so maybe just not for me.

ojlui

after wearing it for a week i already have a dent in it lol

design wise i like this the best out of the twilly series, the white bowler hat esque cap and canary colored perfume makes it stand out to me!

it just smells like those hard ginger candies you buy at the corner stores which is very nostalgic for me living in nyc and going to this little korean spot with my grandma and getting lotto tickets... any who this is a ginger lovers dream, and the top note of peony is ok, in addition the cedar in the dry down is barely noticeable as the ginger stays throughout the fragrance for me. i disagree with the notion that this is not a scent for warmer seasons, it feels pretty warm

H.audrey

It's beautifuly made... Not my type.. But if u like ginger you won't be disappointed

Chris79

This is a perfume I feel I'll never get tired of. It's fresh and not too sharp due to the peony and candied ginger notes. Even though the peony is the top note it's nicely balanced with the sweet ginger right off the bat. Great year-round scent to wear if you want to smell fresh and clean.

pocketfullofposies

Fresh with a hint of spice. This sits so close to the skin and is so soft that it doesn’t last long. Wanted to love it because I adore the previously Twilly’s but this just isn’t it for me.

Pilloweggip

I absolutely adore this smell by itself, but when I spray it on my skin it literally smells like the McDonald’s public bathroom haha. Wish it smelled good on me but hey if it’s not meant to be then it’s not.

fancynancymtl

I received this as a b-day gift, I'm a Hermes fan. Not a huge Twilly fan though with all the florals. However, this is a delight. The opening hit quickly recedes to this unique, sparkling, fresh, ginger-esque scent. I keep sniffing my wrists. It's clean and chic. Powdery with a slight kick without being an olfactory monster. Lux, delicate yet with a touch of sass.

Mila97

There are very few perfumes that I hate, but this is one of them. Smells like straight up cat pee…

smellworthy

One of the few fragrances to ever make me physically gag! I don't even know why it smells so bad to me because the notes don't *sound* bad, and I wanted to like it, but it simply smells like a women's public restroom in a mall.

CR95

Love it! Perfect clean and fresh perfume for spring and summer(but not too hot). It reminds me of London and tweed jackets. Perfect for lunch or coffee in Mayfair. Elegant but young.

mila476

I love this for summer. I bought the original Twilly on a cold, rainy day in France five years ago—it was love at first sniff, but as the weather warmed up and as I aged out of my early 20s I found that the original was a bit too heavy for summer and a bit too sweet for my changing tastes. This weekend, on a hot and very sunny day, I sampled Eau Ginger, because I’m a ginger lover and was interested to see if I’d like it better (was not a fan of Eau Poivrée), and it was EVERYTHING. Fresh and spicy, just what I had been missing from the original and just what I wanted on a hot summer day. Still floral and sweet, but not overly so. The dry down is cozy and woody, but in a way that feels like sunshine and clean sheets in the afternoon. So of course I had to buy a travel spray, and if I run out and am not sick of it I’ll buy a full bottle. I love that the original Twilly was the perfect fragrance for me at age 20, and Twilly Eau Ginger is the perfect fragrance for me at age 25. It’s as though the Twilly line has grown with me and evolved along with my tastes.

Gemapps

Honestly smells like toilet cleaner. I had to scrub my arms because it was making me feel queasy

pon_farr

I guess I'm a Twilly fangirl now. I have the original one, which I love, but I don't reach for it in the summer. In comes Twilly Eau Ginger which definitely shares a lot of the original Twilly DNA, but it's lighter and SO fresh and clean! I'm obsessed. I agree with other reviewers who have said this has a clean laundry scent. It does! It's a super clean laundry smell without smelling like Febreze. I love it and I think it's perfect for summer. It's light and uplifting but still peaceful and calming.

tilapia_johnson

To my nose, I get fresh ginger and tuberose, which dry down to a pleasant sweet scent that retains those two main elements. It feels luxe, without being too heavy. The sillage and longevity are great, and I was surprised by how nice of a warm weather fragrance it is. Refreshing, clean in a laundry way, and comforting, this is a surprise win!

Aqualyra

This smells quite medicinal on me - a baking soda plus benzoin vibe. There's galangale rather than ginger. There's also some cedar buried in the galangale baking soda benzoin hammer. It's alright if you want to smell sort of like a pharmacy.

LadyPat

Very rich and uplifting fragrance. Drydown reminds me a bit of Too Much... Champs Elysees by Guerlain. After 6+ hours I can still smell it. Loved Too Much and love Twilly Eau Ginger as well.

eva.daisy.88

Tried it on a paper tester today - the pickled ginger opening is nothing for me.

Elysiom

HAHA oh man, you'll get a good laugh from this one. Ok, so I order 20+ samples trying to chase the discontinued Dior Pondichery, which has a similar profile which includes ginger, and that's how I arrived here at Hermes Twilly Ginger.

At first opening, I knew it was something grand. I could smell it from inches away and it spoke to a memory that I couldn't place, but I was excited. It screamed 'the best spring day you've ever smelled' in a strong but well-formulated way. No alcohol, just a blast of sweet floral that smelled... expensive. Head turning. It's got... something, you know? Depth, sweetness, floral, hint of ginger... It's a strong deep smell that screamed at me.

But I knew I had smelled it somewhere before and it was connected to a childhood memory. Spring cleaning. God, I hope not pine sol! Nope.... Hm. Today it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Original Snuggle fabric softener from the 80's. Holy crap.

People keep saying clean laundry? YUP. They're right. It's not the Blue Sparkle snuggle sheets of today- the original Snuggle from 1980's. I even used to have the Snuggle teddy bear. For spring cleaning we would open all the windows and doors and wash all the bedding/linens from the winter- the dryer would be going all day and the wind would push this sweet dryer sheet smell back into the house. Those are the only dryer sheets my mom would buy because she loved the smell.

HAHA oh man, now that I know what it is I can't un-smell it, which isn't terrible but now doesn't make me think 'expensive perfume.' I will however happily spritz with more confidence- I do love that smell, and now that I've identified it I doubt many people will have an issue with it. I can't believe I bought it before placing the memory- ah well, it's still nice. Joke's on me haha.

As for the rest- this surprisingly has a fantastic finish and drydown. Given the association to soap/fabric softener, this doesn't have that disappointing 'soapy' drydown. It eventually gets to a sweet creamy cedar with that hint of peony- and the longevity is massive. I do paper strip tests as part of a multi-step process to choose a fragrance so I have all the paper strips from my last batch of samples taped and labeled to my wall like the unibomber- and six days later this one holds well enough to distinguish- which puts it in the top 25% of samples in terms of longevity.

For the curious, I also ordered the original Twilly without ginger, and it is different enough to not remind me of Snuggles- it has a greener/grassier drydown that isn't as sweet (though is still sweeter than most of my perfumes FWIW.)

To the people who already bought it and are reading this, I hope I didn't ruin it for you. But there it is- 1980's Snuggle fabric softener sheets. I'm still going to wear the hell out of it though lol.

ETA: I have no regrets- this is now my daily signature fragrance, and everyone keeps asking me what it is, and why it smells so familiar. I just tell them haha- I LOVE this more and more every day.

Sanrio

I didn't like the opening of the perfume. It reminded me of pickled ginger served with sushi.

But I ADORE the dry down. It's like... MAC foundation powder + spiciness. I can't explain it. It's delicious. I never had the chance to try Chloe Love, but I'm excited to know I'm not the only one who got something distinctly powdery from this.

Sannesans

I love this one! Quality Hermès fragrance. The opening is quiet fresh and pungent. The drydown is magical. I keep sniffing, and smelling wafts of this great powdery cocktail around me. In January this year it did no do the trick for me but now I am hooked. Almost addictive. Unique, feminine, beautiful, full, fresh. A love. And I find it almost a niche scent. The bottle design is not my favourite but I know it's about the scent:-)

debra0503

Signature scent worthy perfume, perfect for warmer weather. It is a bit fresh, a bit spicy, and very soapy clean. It smells simple, bright, innocent and joyful - I love it.
The opening of Twilly Eau Ginger is extremely soapy and packed full of spicy ginger. A few seconds later I get a fresh lemony feeling like an iced summer drink. Overall the scent is pretty easy to read, and It is quiet different than the original twilly which smells slightly mature to me. Twilly eau ginger, it's the younger sister of Twilly, of course she's attractive and classy as well!

One thing I would mention - the scent bubble it creates is amazing, when I flip my hairs and smell it in the air, I love it! better than smelling it on my skin, the soapiness can be a bit much, just wanna put it out there.

AlexandraTroush

Wow, the dry down is really something else. I can see the appeal, as this is very posh and "expensive smelling", in a way that's very refined, but it's really not for me. I love my Muglers, I love my loud and obnoxious fragrances, and when I want a chill and toned-down kind of fragrance, I pick something *very* light, like White Tea (EA) or Eau Ressourcante (Clarins). This falls somewhere between the chairs for me; it's not loud enough for my usual mood, but it's way too thick and dense for my off days.
If I have to pick a setting for this, I would say an extremely wealthy and "has life figured out" 40-something year old business lady wears this to her Sunday brunches. I'm honestly a bit jealous of those who can pull off this kind of fragrance. It's like an unreachable goal for me, like how I don't see myself ever having life figured out. :)

CathSvila

I’ve always loved Twilly, and how the summery ginger rounds out those creamy florals. However, my obsession with tart scents has always cried out for more ginger, and here it is. Twilly Ginger makes my winter days bright, adding a golden glow to the frost. It’s so delicious. It’s everything Twilly gives us, and more. The candied ginger smooths the raw ginger notes, and the combination of notes in this fragrance equal an experience greater than the sum of its parts. Forever a winter favourite.

ayken

This smells so vintage and rich. really love how they added the ginger in it to make it spicier yet it smells quite citrusy as well. Really like it 9/10. I see myself wearing this mostly on warmer days or warmer nights. Makes me feel good and and lifts up my mood as well as confidence.

yiola.al

My daugher hated it (likes sweet perfumes )so I ended up with a couple of samples.I loved it,I thought the combination of ginger and florals is so invigorating and uplifting as others said.I thought ginger perfums would be spicy but this one is only tingling not bitter,a bit of sour as if there are mild citrusy notes there and the peony is mellow.Loved it.Definetely on my wishlist for the summer.

Monia77

This is so beautiful. For me also a little bit vintage and very “enlightened”. In a way as you see strong light coming from the window in the morning when you are starting your day. When you know it would be a good day. This are my impressions. My personally feelings and thoughts. Because you know, my nose knows better:) and only this matters😍

ladidamia

I love this perfume. I got a sample and wore it, it blends well with my body chemistry. It’s subtle yet uplifting. Definitely can smell the peony in it.

Ticketgirl

I’ve been looking for a crisp, clean fragrance that has some lasting power. This one is close. Very close. But no cigar. No longevity whatsoever. It’s 10:30 am, and I’ve sprayed twice already. But, while it lasts, it’s great. It reminds me very much of Clean Beauty’s Pure Soap…one of my favorites. But TEG is a bit more subtle. Its edges are softened by the opening peony. I will probably keep this one in my collection for those days/situations when I’m feeling sporty or don’t want to draw attention to myself. It’s nice…but not something I will wear every day.

Flora Mutere

A delight that starts off well, the candied ginger scent is strong and present. 5 hours later a nostalgic not unpleasant hair spray powdery scent has emerged. This was a test run and I would buy it. It's a keeper

ythefnot

Love at first sniff! so pleasant, fun

Sachlotta

Tested this for the first time today and i really like it.
I got a tester at my local parfumerie and originally gave it to my mom since she loves ginger and i usually don't. Foor some reason she didn't end up liking it and gave it back for me to try and I'm shook. I love it. Smells exactly like those candied ginger sticks old people love haha.
I smellt original twilly in the store once and found it quite mature this however is perfect for any age. I'm 20 and this is nothing like anything else in my collection.

igalmusic

Such a energizing and uplifting fragrance, very nice but it doesn't last as long as the original Twilly and the opening is super sweet. Definitely a day scent.

louiee

Refreshing and warm. Spicy candid ginger without the sweetness.

This scent is like a ray of sun in the grey, boring and cold scandinavian winter…
January suddenly doesnt seem so gloomy anymore.

The top notes is ginger ginger ginger done in the best possible way. The drydown is more like a fine french soap.

I love this perfume…I m gonna cherish it every time I wear it. Eau ginger has an uplifting and joyous soul.

Longevity and silage are both moderate on me.

perfumedpathologist

You'll definitely recognize the ginger in the first moments of this perfume. The dry down is more of a fresh floral and warm cotton mixture. To some noses, it may smell like a clean scent reminiscent of high quality detergent/soap; to others it's quite floral. Regardless of the interpretation, there's no denying the ginger! I've found that on skin the florals are more forward, but on clothing the ginger and clean notes are better retained. I haven't yet had the chance to test this in extreme temperatures, but I have a feeling this is better left for cold or warm (not very hot) days.

Tovah

Ginger for the Ginger! I cannot resist ginger everything. This was a blind buy, and it’s exactly what I hoped for. It’s a burst of joy in a frightening, chaotic world. I see reviews that talk about “typical department store blah blah blah.” Maybe my nose is either bourgeois, or highly refined, because I’m able to discern what I enjoy wearing no matter if it’s an oil I bought on Etsy or a debt-creator from Luckyscent. I’m outside in my hot tub with my husband, watching The Big Lebowski and reminiscing. My husband says I smell great; not much else matters! I’m drinking Ginger Beer, so I’m as gingery as can be. It’s a lovely, sunny day.

Jasmine Joy

I love this perfume! To my nose, it starts off with strong citrus and ginger scents followed by a sweet floral scent after a minute or so. Sillage is moderate and the longevity is good on my skin. Smells wonderful on my clothes too. Smelling this at Sephora made me grab a bottle. Maybe not for everyone but it is for me.

Killerqueen59

This smells almost identical to the discontinued Love, Chloe.

pineneedle

A warm, snappy ginger fragrance that, on my skin, dries down to a beautiful white soap with just a hint of spice. It's a soap you would buy as a gift for someone you actually like.

This is a pleasant, unobtrusive, and long-lasting scent. I've next to no interest in purchasing a FB, but I think I would enjoy smelling it on someone else.

Sexy in the way that being freshly showered is sexy. Highly recommend giving this a shot if you like soapy, clean fragrances.

evarosa

Banale, but just the thing you need some days.

Twilly eau Ginger has a lot of ginger added to the original Twilly. It has the sweet floral heart but surrounded by such an aromatic wall that I almost get teary eyed. The comparisons to detergent are also correct but the composition is done in such a masterful way that the relation doesn't really bother me. In this dreadful pandemic there has to be a perfume like this that is bright and overly cheerful.

ivanda

This is beast. So long lasting fresh loundry scent. Like a washing liquid. Fresh ginger with an absolutely powerful lasting performance. Too much freshness of clean clothes for my taste but if you love this type of fragrance - you'll be impressed.

AnitaHendricks

I personally don't like peony notes, which is why I don't like this perfume. On the other hand I can see how balanced the notes are! This perfume is young, warm, sweet and exiting. If Christmas would be celebrated during the summer it would smell like this!

lemonsandroses

This isn't really a warm ginger. More of a sour lemon. Way too sour for my liking, actually. It might just be my body chemistry but I only get a whisper of soap/florals. I mostly feel like I'm walking around smelling like a lemon warhead candy.

TLight

Instead of Eau Ginger- this should have been called Neau Ginger. This is “And All I Got Was This T-Shirt” Ginger. This is “Buy a $100 Bottle of Hermès NO Ginger” perfume. This is such a Ginger disappointment, I shudder to think I almost blind bought a whole flanker… glad I did not bite that bullet. I was hoping for a ginger- punch. This is a ginger-purists nightmare. The ginger is slightly detectable upon first spray and THATS IT. It goes away as fast as your money did if you paid for a bottle of Hermès Neau Ginger. Two words: Ginger DUD.

ambergeese

I am finding Twilly d'Hermès Eau Ginger Hermès quite difficult to describe. The listed main accords are certainly accurate: somehow, this is simultaneously fresh and slightly warm, a soft floral without edges, sweet but not too sweet, with a gingery suggestion of spice. Above all, I can only describe Twilly Eau Ginger as generically perfume-y. I sampled it in a Sephora and simply thought "Yep! That's a Sephora scent." Something about its generic opening blast feels a little embarrassing to wear in public, perhaps dated or cliché. Within 2-4 hours, though, the loud unoriginal-yet-innoffensive opening dries down into a softer, less screechy, long drydown phase, which is boring but not in any way unpleasant.

Perhaps that's the problem with Twilly Eau Ginger: it's not in any way unpleasant or remotely challenging, despite the seemingly bizarre clash of listed notes. This is a soft and gentle floral with no indoles or hard or challenging edges. I can see the silk scarf girl from the copy written for the original Twilly scent: like her scarf, her scent is soft, harmless, and universally likeable: a mottled, innocuous picture of yellow and pink splotches with no discernable shape or pattern.

Twilly Eau Ginger opens with a strong blast of perfumer's alcohol, which settles into a generically pleasant and harmless yet difficult-to-define scent. In the first few hours, the scent is strong in a way that is defined by this overarching accord of generic sweet, soft florals couched in alcohol with an undercurrent of "fresh" aromachemicals. The effect is light and refreshing, if in quite a synthetic and cliche manner. Although I don't get any calone here (thank goodness), Twilly Eau Ginger is light and refreshing the way some calone-heavy 90s blue fragrance is light and refreshing: it relies on a cheap trick done by some fresh molecule or another that we have heard too many times, without any particular twist. By leaning into this almost-aquatic freshness and generic semi-sweet-and-soft opening, Twilly Eau Ginger somehow manages to escape the fate of many a floral perfume that smells like shampoo or a bar of soap.

The ginger is not a challenging, photorealistic, or complex ginger of any kind: this is not a fresh root or a cup of ginger tea, a spice cabinet or a piece of gingerbread. Rather, this is a warmth in Twilly Eau ginger with a slightly spicy texture if you look for it, which vaguely makes the shape of what might be ginger.

There is some sweetness within the ginger cloud that might be a touch gourmand -- perhaps the fabled candied ginger -- but with a texture smoother than sugar and more like a cheap, mild honey, without any sharp edges, perhaps baked to take any remaining challenging edge off.

As others have mentioned, there is no cedar to speak of. This is all perfumey peonies with a hint of gingery warmth.

The body of Twilly Eau Ginger is one giant inoffensive peony. This is a floral impressively composed without any hard edges, challenging indoles, or overt soapiness. This is a soft, slightly sweet floral that is impressive in its sheer middle-of-the-road safeness: comforting and generically pleasant without much of interest or of note. Slightly sweet without bring too sweet, slightly soapy (or, rather, perfume-y and light) without being decisively powdery or bath-product-like, gently floral without any harsh pollen or indoles. This peony is pleasant but not memorable. She is soft and a little sweet, utterly unobjectionable. She fits the overall cliche and unoriginal feeling of Twilly Eau Gnger well: light in a way that is overdone, seemingly determined to be inoffensive and generally mildly pleasing to anyone who might give her a try.

The opening screeches with an urgency that seeks the validation of being utterly ordinary: "Look at me! I'm a perfume, just like all the rest!" These first 2 hours are too clouded in generic perfumeyness, a blast of generic soft sweet crowd smell without even the courage and boldness of sharp floral indoles or headache-inducing musk. When this loudness finally dies down, the eventual drydwon of Twilly Eau Ginger is everything it dreams of being: not unpleasant. It's soft-spoken, simple, and slightly sweet, with a tiny hint of warmth, and not much else. This phase is slightly comforting despite being boring, by sheer nature of it being soft and a little sweet and warm. This is a soft, warm, slightly sweet shape, the slightest touch gourmand, with a timbre more like honey than sugar. It continues with intimate sillage seemingly indefinitely, still very faintly there over 24 hours later on me.

I suppose it isn't surprising that Twilly Eau Ginger is lacking in complexity. After all, it's exactly what's on the tin: entirely innocuous peonies with a hint of ginger warmth. Cedar seems like a bizarre addition to the mix, except that I can't smell it at all to begin with, which, perhaps, is a relief. Christine Nagel succeeds in bringing marrying thr unlikely elements of peony and ginger -- albeit in a way over-reliant on middling perfumery cliches, seemingly designed for mass appeal with no concern for creativity, originality, or daring. When I sampled this on one arm, I sampled Lush's Devil's Nightcap on the other, which is oakmoss on oakmoss on more pure, real oakmoss. Together, these swirled into something more interesting, revealing an animalic and dirty side to the clean, proper scarf girl. Alas, I highly doubt Hermès will ever take their poster-child line of clean and inoffensive scents anywhere subversive or interesting.

Twilly Eau Ginger is ultimately a harmless crowd pleaser. It manages to perform the hat trick of designer floral fragrances: not too sweet, not too soapy, and not utterly headache-inducing due to indoles, aldehydes, or accompanying musk. This is an Easter scarf of mottled springtime colors, with a loud, screechy opening for the first 2 to 4 hours, and a moderately enjoyable drydown, and a long tail, with whiffs of the scent faintly noticeable on the skin past 24 hours (although there is only any projection for the first 6 or so). It's hard to have anything against this entirely safe scent, but it's hard to say anything strongly for it, either. If the imagery of a polished-yet-carefree young woman, smiling and suitable for all audiences, wearing a neat outfit and a brightly colored scarf appeals to you, give this a try. I hope the screeching loud opening comes off as confidence on you: on me, it smells like insecurity and a scent trying too hard to blend in with the cool girls.

Sunkissed

I wouldn't have tried this without the sales lady's recommendation. I wasn't expecting to like it because I'm not the biggest fan of ginger in fragrances, but I really do. It was a bit of an impulse purchase, I admit. It's not a love, but a like and I left the shop with the smallest bottle so I won't feel too bad if I stop caring for it or finish it too quickly! :-P
It makes me think of a white soap bar with a hint of honeyed ginger. I also tried the original Twilly, which is nice, but not for me. I don't suggest blind buying it because I think ginger can come across as medicinal sometimes (I do not think that happens with this perfume) but if you're a ginger lover you will probably enjoy this flanker.
Intimate to moderate sillage. Long lasting on me.

FabulouslyLazy

I guess I’m a ginger gal – I’m the kind of person who cuts fresh ginger first thing in the morning, who tried to grow her own ginger and has ginger hair! Ginger sets me in a good mood, you know, and when I entered the store I didn’t know I wanted exactly this perfume, but the moment I smelled it I was lovestruck. L’Eau Ginger is all about spice and peony, it’s sparkling and soapy and performs wonderfully. Fall seems to be the appropriate season to rock this gem – pure bliss!

Scentedalterego

Unpopular opinion, but I quite like this one by Nagel.

Sweet ginger peony on a non-obtrusive natural cedar base. Peony can pull a little soapy, but it’s far from dryersheets. Designer style, but definitely not something I’ve smelt before, due to the ginger overdose. Moderate performance.

Try it if you like sweet ginger. There are better Hermes, like Jardin Sur Le Nil, but this isn’t as bad a some of the reviews here suggest, not at all.

Florind

It's honey lemon ginger water. It smells much better than it sounds.
It's definitely ginger, but fresh, clear and a bit feminine. I love it.

GooseWithAGrudge

This one is an odd duck, and I’ve used up my entire sample, still unsure of whether I like it or not.

At first, I thought this was going to be a scrubber. Right after you spray it, you just get a synthetic ginger smell. In my late teens I had several bad bouts of long-running stomach infections and used to take a strong, nasty-tasting medicine with ginger. This is an almost plastic-y sweetened ginger. Honestly, my first thought with this was “oh god it smells like the stomach flu!” Fortunately it mellows out rather quickly and goes from nausea medication ginger to a more ginger ale scent, which is much more pleasant, and also allows the peony to come through. I also get a lemony note that isn’t listed here. This leaves you with a pleasantly spicy fruity/floral that dries down to a soapy skin scent after several hours. At about hour three of wearing it, however, the original strong ginger scent will reappear for a little while, almost like it doesn’t know what to make of itself either! It lasts about eight or so hours without respraying, and silage is moderate.

Truly, I’m not sure what to make of this one. Half of me wants to go buy a big bottle of it and wear it a lot, the other half wants to take a shower to get it off. I may repurchase another sample to give myself more time with it. I do think I lean towards liking it.

2lipsinHolland

At rush hour the other day I stepped onto the metro and could distinctly smell ginger - clean crispy ginger- it was a very warm day and it smelled refreshing and intoxicating. I started to wrack my brain ...."Ginger?! Who, what? Where?" and the only thing I could come up with this. After work I raced to the store and sprayed this on a strip - "Yes! That is what I was smelling this morning!" I put the strip next to my computer and went about my life...A few hours later I get very strong wafts of a giant bar of finely milled white soap. Intense wafts....Amazing clean , crispy and sparkling. The next morning the perfume was still radiating soap. I ordered it immediately. I personally don't have enough soapy fragrances in my life. So my review - the ginger is fresh spicy at first blast - then it morphs a bit into a sparking ginger-ale on ice - a bit sweeter but still sparkling - as it dries down the ginger becomes more dry and spicy and the citrus, peony and musks meld together to create a stunning fresh soapy smell. This makes sense because peony, citruses a bit of spice and cedar and musks have been blended for like a century now to create what we think of as "giant bar of white soap." Because of the fattiness/sparkling aspect I get in this soapy smell I definitely think I am getting massive whiffs of aldehydes which are not indicated in the notes pyramid here but I definitely smell them...I think I might make it my signature scent - I don't think this is a warm weather only scent - I also think that the ginger may have more longevity in the winter versus the heat.

joy3141

Wow. This one is Clean. Like clean clean. Soapy and sunny amd happy and fresh crisp shower gel and strong laundry detergent. It's beautiful! Nice floral and bright sparkling ginger. For some reason, I picture a sparkling scrubbed white laundry room with expensive appliances. Oddly enough... there may be a relatively clean kitty litter box nearby. Someone below mentioned cat piss - maybe I laughed at that too much and now it's in my head. Anyway - very nice but not FB worthy for me. I have enough clean soapy scents. But this one is definitely lovely.

Hello fam!
To me, this was a love at first try. I tested it on my linen shirt (not on my arm) and as I drove home in a very warm weather it kept hitting me with its loveliness and unidentifiable-ness.
Then slowly I started to find my way round it and this is what I get.
It's a clean but extraordinary scent.
There's a bit of the Jour d'Hermes in its DNA, for sure, especially in the opening. Then there's the fantastic clean quality to it, similar to Love by Chloe combined with the floral and herbal quality of L'Occitane's fragrances, namely Arlesienne and Pivoine. Maybe it's these fragrances mixed together with a little bit of baby oil (NO. 5) and a tad of pool water from a fancy holiday destination :) ;)

I also like how it seems to divide people.
Good fragrances do.

Eau Ginger lasts and lasts and it leaves an elegant, but friendly, clean, but curious, flowery yet summery, herbal and luxury body lotion-y trail wrapped in happiness.

I already bought it and wear it with one of my Jo Malone body creams.

Makenzie

I like this version, its definitely a unique flanker with a distinguished identity. To me it opens up airy, sweet (not obnoxious), fruity (maybe mangoes?) and floral (Peony). As it dries down, the spicy citrus factor keeps kicking in stronger with time. I enjoy it, this kind of citrus reminds me of a sweet ginger lemon soda. By the very end it smells straight up like sugared ginger and lemon peels/zest, not too sweet tho! Just a hint at of sweetness and fruitiness floating around.

It felt nostalgic to me, I saw someone in the comments mentioning it smells like a laundry detergent, I totally agree!. There is definitely a clean laundry vibe coming from this fragrance, I enjoy it a-lot.

I would consider this to be a unisex mostly feminine fresh fragrance, unlike the original which is powdery and very feminine.

Dr_Cece

I don't care much for the lemony opening, but the drydown is what got to me. This one takes me back to my aunt's home in the Philippines when she does laundry after everyone had had their lunch. That smell of ginger with the soapy, clean laundry... Ah, happy memories.

AryanasPerfumes

No, this fragrance has nothing from the original Twilly and for me that’s a good thing! I sniffed it in sephora and Im contemplating on buying a bottle,It’s such a crisp perfect smell of ginger, exactly like when you start peeling a ginger root. Beautiful and fresh .The tuberose in the original twilly kills me

Muslinus21

If you used to wear Love, Chloe this one might be a great substitute. I don't really care for the opening, I love the dry down which is soapy (in a modern way). Lasting power is better than average, 8-10 hours, with a strong projection for the first 4h. Given its ginger notes, I mix it with Byredo's Bal D'Afrique body cream - they complement each other.
It was an impulse buy, I've been searching for a modern soapy frag for quite a few years and I fell in love the moment I tested it. I just hope they don't discontinue it as it departures quite significantly from the core Twilly line.

cranky137

I love it! If you like Twilly family - you need this.
I feel it is not very ”young” in itself, but go and get a sniff!

mamafrag

Oh my goodness! I put this on this morning around 8am before a walk. It's now over 12 hours later and it's still strongly radiating off my skin! Very soapy and happy! I have the original Twilly as well and I think I like this one a touch more. So zingy and soapy!

unovis

I love the classic soapy drydown. It is fabulous on clothes, very long lasting, too. Funny thing it is marketed at young girls, and all I imagine when I smell it, is an elegant and rich older lady. I won’t write further because @sickflick expressed my thoughts perfectly. This is exactly what I feel about the Eau Ginger.

Zahraa555

My favorite flanker! The opening is very sour ginger with peony and woodsy notes. That’s what you get. Simple yet beautiful for summer. Fresh powdery/soapy floral scent with ginger. And it is based on ginger so you might not like the sharp sour scent.
If you did not like the other flankers because they were heavy/ sweet. Try this one. It is the lightest, you get the fresh sourness.
If you don’t like powdery mature like scents you will not enjoy it, which is found in many other Hermes fragrances like the La Jardin Sur La Lagune.
I personally love it and I’m going to purchase it next summer!

Murmur123123

I finally tested this in John Lewis and I’m unimpressed. I like the original Twilly enough to own a back up bottle, and I like ginger note in perfumes. However this opens with a sharp yet sweet ginger note - the notes list is very accurate in that it states “candied ginger”, if u have ever eaten candied / sugar preserved ginger as a snack u can imagine that sugary sweet ginger taste,
which is strong but not fresh anymore, yup that is here. In 15 min or so the ginger goes away and I’m left with a very soapy floral scent, that’s all.

Poisonmy1love

This was not good. I received a sample. Tried it once at daytime and once at night and it bothered me all night, ha ha. Very intense and long lasting for you who wants to try it.

raiza1990

Spicier but sweeter than the original. It smells nice and unique, the cedar wood gives it a mature and slightly masculine touch that makes the fragrance interesting, but i still prefer the original.
I imagine a girly but strong woman wearing it.
Not a safe blind buy. Try before you buy!

Ashmoore84_1

@Perfumelady88 omg!! I laughed til I cried reading that review. 😭😂🤣 grade A honesty right there.

Perfumelady88

I have the Twilly and the Poivree perfume so I just knew I would love this one. I was WRONG. This scent smells like an extremely old woman mixed in with laundry detergent and cat piss. I wouldn't want to smell like this. I wouldn't want my clothes or bed sheets smelling like this. I wouldn't even want my house smelling like this. It's truly awful. This is a gift you give someone you don't like. This is literally one of the worst perfumes I've ever smelled in my life. I'm so surprised and disappointed. I feel like I can't even give this way. It deserves to be trashed. I never want to smell this again.

gtabasso

This is nothing like Twilly other than sharing the same DNA and floral quality. On me this goes on floral with ginger, not candied sweet. I also get lemon and powdery iris. As it dries down it gets very musky with almost a cumin edge. In the final drydown, there's an almost ambery and woody quality like creamy sandalwood then finishes as a skin scent with a dry cedar. I love it as I love all Twillies. Hermes is not a fave house of mine, but the Twilly line is. Glad I got this when it came out. I will enjoy it all summer.

sweetpunkin

I ended up returning this. I really wanted to love it since i'm a fan of the original Twilly, but this pulled way too soapy on my skin. i didn't get any ginger with this, just laundry detergent with a hint of sweetness. Not a safe blind buy in my opinion.

Danielle104

Not a safe blind buy in my opinion. To my nose, this should have been named Eau Florale instead. I really love a ginger note but for me, peony was front and center and very longlived.
I will say that I have allergies to many florals so that could be why I really didn't get the ginger. Based on the listed notes I was hoping more of the "candied ginger" was prominent and the cedar would add some smoothness but that's not what I got.
Its a pretty fragrance, just not for me. I have already returned it.

Zahirahgoldmine

Out of All of the Twilly Flankers I really like this one. The others smell very mature and offensive. But this one is a very clean herbal soapy scent. I smell a bit of lemon verbena it’s definitely great for rainy days or hot day to smell fresh. It can be strong so apply a little bit. @ZahirahGoldmine on IG

BoutiqueLove

This smells like liquid clothes washing detergent- creamy soapy strong. Milky musky with generic white florals. This is not sparkling.
Very pleasant and universal and you can say this almost does not smell of perfume but freshly washed clothes. If you have been searching for detergent smell this is it. I smell no ginger or anything fancy or nuanced.
This is an easy reach for any time of year or occasion and is almost unisex due to the detergent smell. Excellent gift

LettaBleu

Wow! When you first spray it, this beeeeautiful peony envelops you like a cushiony cloud, and floods your senses! Mmmmm! That was so nice! I am sure there is just a touch of creamy tuberose in there. Or maybe that's just an illusion. Anyway. That beauty is short lived. ( It lingered in the air for a while, though. ) Fresh ginger quickly shows up, and it is nice and refreshing, zingy and uplifting. I like it. But, again... short lived. It quiets down quickly. Barely there cedar stops by to bring the peony back again, shy and soft this time. And soon they become one with that fresh ginger, and they smell divine! Finally, that candied ginger shows up, too, and sweetens up the concoction a bit. Definitely not too much. The scent is just slightly sweet. It stays fresh and clean, soft and smooth, slightly creamy, but not much gingery at all... The notes are perfectly blended and in harmony with each other. The scent is quiet. It sits close to skin. But it stays around for a pretty decent amount of time.

Fresh, spicy, sparkly, clean, slightly creamy, very pleasant. I am liking this. Just wish it were more of a ginger scent.

But, ugh... those hideous bottles!

genny17

The top notes are bright, I detect the peony, it is short lived though, and then it is downhill from there...dry smell, clean, some will like it,I dont mind a clean musk as long as other notes soften it, but this is like dryer sheets..and I dont care to smell like detergent..not the best Twilly in my opinion, the first one was good..the ginger is like a ghost note ,it goes fast...so if you expect lots of it, it isn’t there ...longevity on top of it isn’t the best ...for me, I can’t get past the top notes, like a cleaning product...now, it is a matter of taste, this isn’t real pretty to my nose.

mewwt

A combination of very sweet and very soapy. You can nearly taste the bitter soapiness and it overpowers the fragrance after a few minutes.

masako_30

TayTrain is not wrong in her review when she gets to the point: how much ginger are we talking about? Not as much as we'd hoped.
I’ve been wearing Twilly Eau Ginger for about many hours, and I still haven’t stopped smelling my wrist.
It's awesome, brilliant, extremely soapy. Nearly perfection.
Now that the top notes have vanished almost all, to me, Twilly the original emerges, in a very nuanced and diluted way. Cleaner and brighter, with a dry and bitter aftertaste.
The warm and unexpected drydown on my skin gives me echoes of Aura Idôle, but only a little.
I will definitely buy it, because I love Eau Poivrée version and this is quite different, thing that justifies having both in my opinion.
Eau Ginger is not as much a summer perfume as I imagined due to the color of the bottle.
I can’t smell candied ginger at all, nor any kind of ginger powder, or root.
Until now I mistakenly thought it might be its fil-rouge, in the form of a very fresh mist, like a pungent and pleasant aroma.
But sometimes my nose gets a little off, so you've got to try it regardless my review. It may happen that in a while I can smell it.
Eau Ginger was graded as "splendid" by me.

Great new release of Hermes. I love the original Twilly so I needed to try this one. It was a must have for me at first sniff. I would describe this as sweet , clean powdery and fresh. Very pleasant and addictive. It’s almost like a super clean fresh powdery gourmand , like you smell a candy ( candied ginger chews almost a bubblegum ginger smell. ) and at the same time smelling clean soapy powdery detergent sudds !
It’s really good. I love it.
Adore the bottle ! Great fragrance !!
My husband likes this he thinks ja it smells like fresh washed clothes ,“ Downy „ or dryer sheets ..but better.

Swmln

Tried on clothes
First spray, and for about 20 minutes: a beautiful laundry detergent smell. Clean, Pretty. But then.... it turned to a straight up cat pee smell. The person I was with even asked me to cover it with another perfume.

TayTrain

I think this is my favourite Twilly. I get a lot of citrus and peony and I'm fairly certain there is a tiny touch of bubblegum tuberose in here, not too prominent - rounds out the peony nicely. The ginger and cedar are balanced but are in the background to anchor the citrus and peony. It is honestly a pretty nice scent, not a banger, but I think most would be happy. The biggest thing I think people will want to know is how much ginger are we talking here - I would say it is more of a background note, not as much as I was hoping, mild, but it is there! Easy wear for sure.

jovejove

Definitely a sparkling woody ginger scent. Reminiscent of L’Homme Cologne Gingimbre with feminine tones. Don’t care for the other first two flankers, but this one is pleasant and different enough for what’s being launched currently. Sprayed at 4pm, it’s now 8pm, still on there as a decent fresh scent. The fresh peony style reminds me of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet with a touch of ginger, it’s decent.

duaa abed

what i loved about the original is the ginger note that unfortunately disappear in the drydown , im so excited for this 🤤❤❤❤
