Love Generation Rock Jeanne Arthes for women

A perfume for a subtle seduction. A cold aromatic powdery lily, with a little bit of ylang. What was called "vanilla" here is the typical type of scent for more mature perfumes, which for me is more amber/benzoin.

Quite similar to Ange ou demon, except the empowering mandarin note in the beginning. Once the strong citrus notes air out, it is identical to AOD. It is quite long-lasting, and has very powerful sillage in the beginning.

So...this scent is very familiar to me. I smell it (something very similar) before as a young girl on a cca 10-15y older girls/ladies. Now I am in my 30s so I think that ladies in theirs 40s will appreciate this scent. Reminds me of the early 2000s and eclectic/alternative girls. Personally, I don't like it. I think that deadly note is combination of saffron, ylang-ylang and soooo synthetic vanilla.
It's ok if you want to try something new with older vibes because it's not so bad that you can't stand it (like some other parfumes). Especially if you "live on the edge". But-if you are able to try this before buying-do it.

It does smell like Ange ou Demon I've had both. Exactly the same. I wish it had more presence, longevity and projection as AOD, But it is a dupe

I own Ange ou demon for 15 years and I love it. Because of all the good reviews and the overwhelming comparison with AOD, I bought myself a bottle of this “clone”.
OMG I hate it !! I really don’t understand how anyone can compare these two. There is this licorice- anise note in this one, and it is so strong. It reminds me of Lolita lempicka, I hate that one too. AOD is fresh, chrispy, warm and exiting at the same time. This I find dull en suffocating. Maybe it’s me..

Powdery and easily unisex.

Mix baby Johnson powder with some medicinal herbs then you'll get this scent.

Wow, was I shocked to see orange rated as the weakest note. When I splashed some Love Generation Rock on my wrist, the citrus was the first note that hit me, followed by vanilla and tonka. This scent really doesn't present as a floral on me, but it is very pretty. It has a bit of an orange creamsicle vibe without being overly sweet.

I took this perfume in parallel with Ange ou Demon, as I was curious whether they really resembled. I read a lot of reviews and often compare the two flavors.
My opinion - Love Generation Rock is rather a floral soft fragrance. Nice, smells of purity and innocence. It does not resemble me and reminds Ange ou Demon. It sounds lighter and more superficial, it does not have the depth and density, the class of Angel and Demon.
The verdict - a pleasant scent, better suited to a schoolgirl or a young girl. To wear in an office, for a walk, for leisure. Nice, but nothing special, as its price suggests. Good longevity, it does not smell cheap. Safe Buying.

Testing Love Generation Rock (from my bottle) spritzed on the back of my left hand against Ange ou Demon (from an official sachet sample) on the back of my right.

I am not going to describe either perfume in any depth - my input isn't necessary, as others have done so far better than I could.

LGR and AoD are frequently compared; this is unsurprising given the number of notes they have in common: mandarin orange, saffron, thyme, ylang ylang, orchid, lily, vanilla and tonka. They only differ in their bases, where LGR has oak, AoD has oakmoss.

On first spraying, LGR is more citrus and not as sweet as AoD - to be honest, LGR smells cheaper and rougher - but they are heading in the same direction, running in parallel lines; as they dry down, they converge. Sillage of AoD is slightly more than that of LGR and it also has - for want of a better word - more "depth"; it's "stronger". Having said that, I had a sachet of Ange ou Demon, and therefore the concentration on the back of my hand is more concentrated, compared to Love Generation Rock, which I sprayed - so the perfume was diffused over a greater area.

Cheapest price:
Find 60ml of Love Generation Rock on Amazon UK for £7.29 (free P&P with Prime) and 30ml of Ange ou Demon for £28.00 (free P&P) on eBay UK. I haven't purchased from the business seller who has listed AoD at this price, so can't comment on whether the perfume sold is genuine or not (although their feedback suggests it probably is).

To summarise: LGR and AoD are virtually identical, so purchasing LGR is a no-brainer.

I have AoD on one wrist and LGR on the other one. The opening is very, very similar in both and it makes them indistinguishable. However, there are quite different in the drydown. LGR becomes rather soapy after an hour or so, while the vetiver in AoD makes it smell more sophisticated, definitely like a high-end perfume.
I'm happy I bought LGR, though. It smells lovely, it satisfies my AoD craving, and i can keep saving for some other perfumes in my want list :)

I only tested AoD once (not widely available where I live) and liked it a lot but not quite enough for the price tag. I had read several times on here how this was a passable dupe, and ordered it for cheap.
As far as I can recall from testing, this definitely has a similar feel. No clue if it is exact, and I don’t need it to be. This is pleasant and surprisingly long lasting (fragrance eating skin). It’s a sweet-ish, sophisticated scent with a twist. There is a faint licorice note to it (saffron? Thyme?). It’s not straight up sexy, it’s not fresh, it’s not gourmand.... it’s intriguing.
Work safe, not enormous sillage but a soft trail.

For me this is the perfect copy of Insolace Guerlain Eau de Parfum . I sprayed them both on both of my wrist and i can say that on my skin i can't find any difference...They both are powdery and kind of strong...only that after 4 hours Love Generation Rock lost a little bit of the silage and and became softer.All said it's a good quality perfume on an affordable price. I like it !

This perfume is deliciously divine. I feel very sexy when I wear this I absolutely love the oriental, gourmand scents with tonka bean and flowers! On me it is very cozy. It's orange spicy zest. Its like birch beer or a root beer float and creamy like crème brulee or eggnog. Its a very delicate but inviting, sensual scent. Its gourmand but there is a floral note of lily and orchards that brings this perfume together. I got mine off of EBay for 7.00 what a steal for such a lovely scent. I would wear this any time of year. Its scent lingers nicely in cold or warm weather. It is a sexy scent indeed. Wicked cool bottle very rock n' roll. One of my favourte's definitely. Somebody said it smells like nutmeg and I agree. Sweet soft root beer float topped with vanilla ice cream and nutmeg or eggnog. It has a fresh floral drydown that is delighful. Yummy. Scrumptious. Delicious. Delicate.

Reminds me of baby soft. Sweet baby powder with sugar. Quite cheap.

If you want a cheap and lasting dupe for AoD, this works great. I say lasting because it came in the mail yesterday, I was in a real hurry I had to bath and get to work, but you know, I couldn't leave the house without sniffing it first! I tested it on my inner elbow and when I came out of the shower it was still there, really soft, but there (and hey, I bath with loats of soaps hahaha)
Even tho I do not like the drydown, this smells really good, I still prefer Ange ou Demon overall.

Something about this ends up turning soapy. Don't get me wrong, not the whole thing. But there is this "soap" I keep smelling when I smell my skin. I really despise any fragrance that is soapy. This one develops that way later, but I have an extremely sensitive nose.

I love this! It is indeed very similar to AoD, but it's a bit lighter which makes it wearable in warm weather too, whereas AoD is strictly a cold weather scent on me. My only complaint is that the longevity doesn't hold a candle to AoD, but for the super cheap price, who really cares? Spray away! I also like the bottle a lot, I thought it was kind of tacky in the picture, but it's cute in person and the glass is nice and heavy-it doesn't feel or smell nearly as cheap as it is :)

PS- for some reason I'm seeing it advertised for prices up to $70 on here, what?? No! Go buy it on eBay, I got my bottle for $6!

It took me a few minutes to warm up to this scent....
I guess I was expecting more...saffron/tonka/woods...??
I get more of the ylang/lily/mandarin..and herbal-ish thyme to my nose. Vanilla is there...but for me too underneath...???...but....somehow....it is keeping me sniffing my hand over and over again...lol. I also say, be patient and let the scent get to "know" you and vice-a-versa... I am liking this !!. I have not smelled Ange au Demon, so I cannot compare the 2. I also can say that after initial spray blends in...it can be unisex also.
For the price...worth a try.

Initially I didn't like this fragrance AT ALL, but tonight I wear it, just sitting comfy in my armchair after taking a shower, and it is actually really lovely. Not as sweet and syrupy as I remembered. Great enough for lounging around the house, and I also like it for bedtime. Not love, but a keeper, even though I would never repurchase again.

Great quality perfume for its price. Longevity is like a typical designer perfume (4-5 hours on my dry skin). I don't have Givenchy Ange ou Demon so I don't know how similar they are. Unique smell. Not a love but worth it for its price. Smells unisex.

This tattooed punk rock bad girl surprised me with its scent. I like the packaging, it is so different from the fragrances I usually sample. After testing it in a drugstore I was blown away. It opens up creamy and inviting, it has a dessert like quality, powdery tonka-vanilla but never too sweet. Very close to Ange ou Demon, and also reminds me to the gourmand Alien flankers (Alien Taste of Fragrance and Sunessence). Absolutely in contrast from what you would expect based on the packaging. The bottle is cute, it cheers me up and brings me into a crazy, playful mood. The elegant and complex, well blended scent itself is very unexpected, like if the tattooed punk rock girl started singing from Madame Butterfly. I can't help but love it!

This fragrance is so weak. It last about 5-10 minutes. Sprayed my skin har and clothes. And its already gone. Its a nice scent. Its oriental very middle eastern like. Reminds me of opium and youth dew.

This smells IDENTICAL to a lighter version of Alien. I have the big 3oz bottle of Alien and this smells exactly the same only with a MUCH toned-down projection. This is basically the office-safe version of Alien.

This smells great. A mixture of warm, vanilla-ey, woodsy, and floral notes, all beautifully blended!!

Longevity - Not bad at all! About 6 hours.

I am so impressed at the quality here! I think the rockstars of this perfume are saffron, lily, and thyme. The vanilla and florals, especially lily, are giving off a creamy sweetness to balance the slightly medicinal, spicy aromatics of saffron and thyme. The effect is comforting, mysterious, delicious, and magical.
I understand the spicy root beer reference others have noticed, but it's also got a cooling powdery effect in there, too.

This perfume pulls off creamy, aromatic, sweet, spicy, and powdery-cool equally well at the same time. I've never smelled anything like it so far.
It is a little magic potion that I'm so pleased to have found.

Lovely, vanilla woods drydown and lasts a long time (8 hrs)! So well done.

It's been so long since I last wore ange ou demon I couldn't really say how close this is. I love that root beer vibe and the creamy saffron reminds me of Adam Levine. The silage is pretty close to the skin but wonderful.

This one arrived today - blind buy after reading the reviews - and it's nothing like I thought it would be. On me it smells like one of those little flower soaps my Nana had in a basket on the back of her toilet tank. It's not harsh or offensive, it's just kinda nothing...I don't get any vanilla or mandarin. It smells like grape kool-aid for about 5 minutes then it's gone.

Based on the ingredients, I thought that I might like this, so I tried it today. It doesn't seem to agree with my skin. The citrus was very noticeable at first, with a sharp spicyness. The vanilla, orchid and lily soon began to dominate and I found it too sweet for my liking. It has now settled into a butterscotch smell which is not too unpleasant. I am glad I tried this before buying, because with so many other lovely fragrances from Arthes, I wouldn't bother with this again. The bottle is very pretty though!

Received yesterday, sprayed last night and I can still smell it (even over my tanner which was also applied last night lol!) Wow, this is gorgeous and for under $10! Never tried Ange Ou Demon or any of the other "comparables" but this on its on own is amazing especially when you consider the price. It is sweet in a non-sickly way and softly spicy, I can imagine this would smell amazing in Winter (its summer here so it will have to wait a little while)

It's lovely but I don't think it is enough like ange ou demon. A bit of spicy root beer and citrus in the opening, then a smooth creamy combo of ylang and vanilla. Aod is sharper and louder with more distinctive notes. This is extremely well blended but as such the individual notes don't stand out as much.

I FINALLY know what this reminds me of! Eggnog. The vanilla, warmth, and spices really make this scent smell like a Christmas dessert to me. I'm also surprised to see no musk listed under the notes! All in all, a very nice scent. One of my favorites from the "Love Generation" line.

I'm very happy I decided to give this a blind buy! I previously owned a small sample bottle of Ange ou Demon and when I first tried it, I hated it! But because I loved the bottle so much I gave it another go and to my surprise it grew on me and soon became addictive. When that ran out I realized I couldn't afford to buy a proper bottle so I stumbled across this cheaper dupe months later. At this point I'd forgotten what Ange ou Demon smelled like, but one spray of Love Generation Rock and all those comforting notes came back to me! It doesn't seem strong to me. Every note is subtle but work together very well. I didn't think I liked powdery perfumes but this is the right kind of powdery. It also has a tangy-ness to it but the citrus note isn't overpowering which I like. I knew I loved ylang-ylang because I had a shower gel with it in and its such a gorgeous light, oriental smell. Th woody notes give it a bit of an earthy, more unisex vibe which is ideal for me as II'm not one for overly feminine, sweet perfumes. I think this may become my signature fragrance because it's soft enough to wear all day long, but mysterious enough to be attractive on night's out too!

I really wish they would come up with a way to make the citrus in perfume last.

The mandarin orange fragrance is divine, almost edible. I think I inhaled all the citrus off my skin before it had a chance to burn away.

I found if you spray some of the fragrance on your clothing the citrus does last longer but very close to the skin.

What is left is quite a masculine oak and rosewood musk scent, cologne, and a little floral sweetness.

The bottle is absolutely delightful and one you would like to take out your handbag and show off to friends.

A lovely unobtrusive perfume, which would not offend anyone. I really like this perfume but I would love it if the mandarin orange would stick around.

I'm extremely surprised and impressed that such a cheap fragrance can have such a good silage and staying power and smell so smooth and sophisticated! It is better than most of my expensive fragrances!

It is very smooth, creamy and extremely well blended. It is a perfect scent to match white outfits. At least I wear it exclusively with white outfits.

I don't know why, but when I originally tested this, it reminded me of Lou Lou (the old formulation), which is why I bought it. It is a very strong scent which lasts quite long, but it smells nice.

I found this at Marshalls, and it was cheap, so I thought I'd give it a try. I wore it today, and I ended up washing it off, something I rarely do. There is some note in it I don't love. It's warm, and it sort of reminds me of Aquolina's Gold sugar, but I can wear Gold Sugar, but this scent became annoying. Maybe it's my mood today, so I'll try it another time. I'd love to find more in this same line, because the two I bought are vaguely similar. The other one I bought is Fashion Victim, and it seems to share a similar vibe and smell.

Update: I just sprayed this tonight, after having it over a year, and I like it much better than I remember. I tested it because I'm considering buying Ange ou Demon, and this is supposed to be similar. I do know I'm able to tolerate wearing this perfume this time around. It does seem like my body chemistry does pull a cedar note out of the perfume, and it's almost like a licorice smell. This is pretty potent stuff for the small price I paid.

I bought this without having tested it beforehand, and to be (brutally) honest I cannot believe there is a Givenchy out there which smells this...repulsive.

Seeing that LGR has received so many enthusiastic reviews so far, I can only conclude that it is my olfactory system which is at fault, that it somehow doesn't correctly "process" or "decipher" this composition.

Of course, some might say how we react to a scent is a matter of personal taste, but what happens here is not that I dislike LGR, it is much worse than that : I find it almost painfully chemical, strident and inharmonious. It makes me want to open a window because I suddenly crave clean, fresh air, and then to rush to the kitchen for a large glass of plain water because its very dry and powdery notes seem to have materialized and got stuck in my throat.
1/3 hairspray + 1/3 bugspray + 1/3 dry shampoo is how I think it smells.
I don't mean to hurt anyone ; I respect everybody's tastes and actually hesitated a lot before voicing my opinion, but I do think it is important and useful to let other potential buyers know ( especially in the case of a fragrance that is not easy to find and that many have to blind buy) that there is a possibility that they won't like it at all, even if most reviewers rave about it.

And it certainly cannot be put down to some kind of perfume snobbery on my part, since I use many drugstore scents and have favourably reviewed several, including JA ones.

I dont find it to be a copy-copy of Ange Ou Demon, as I wouldn't wear the last, but find intriguing and addictive, unusual and different Love Generation Rock. First of all - it lasts a day on my hair , and two days - on the clothes. Secondly - the notes are blended really in a master's way, such a shame that cheap looking bottle can put many people off from buying it, yet the price is just makes you smile. Its spicy and refreshing and its sweet and girly, but I guess its the lily+saffron with oak-wood grabs the whole attention here, - smells exotic and alluring. I do feel like moving mountains, so might be the hint is to wear Love Generation on days when you feel sluggish and lazy in order to pull yourself together and just Rock It!

Carnations and creme or lily-vanilla nutmeg powder. Love it. I bought it because it reminds me of Ange ou Demon but has a better drydown for my skin. Ange ou Demon has a slightly better beginning (wonderfully haunting) but dries down super sweet-spicy cloying on me where LGR dries down to a more creamy and airy base so I prefer Love Generation Rock overall. I'm going to pour my LGR into a more delicate, vintage style bottle because I think it suits the juice better than the one it is sold in. Not complaining about the LGR bottle though. This only cost me 10 dollars of CVS bucks a couple years ago.

I have a real problem with this fragrance......like the smell and find the woodiness very interesting, but hate that it gives me an instant woozy head feeling the minute I spray it on. Can only imagine I am a bit allergic to something in it? Have been through other reviews, but nobody else has mentioned it so it must just be me!

A shame as the dry down is lovely and on me has a creamy sandalwood scent (which is odd as there is no sandalwood in it) - quite different to my usual choice of fragrance.

Bought this a few weeks ago, against my "blind buy" judgement... but as many have said...for the price, the risk was minimal...
I can now understand where the comparison to root beer may come from, but this is anything but a soda fountain scent!
I am seriously enjoying this more and more, each time I am testing it out... I get the vanilla and Tonka, but for me, the orchid, rosewood and oak really participate in the beauty of this fragrance....

it smells like bubbelgum! am i the only one who thinks so?

To me the smell is exactly like a polish I use for silverware - (sorry, I do not mean to be rude-) it overpowers everything so I only get a small hint of the vanilla and ylang-ylang for example. I am sorry to describe this perfume in such a way, but that is unfortunately that impression I get from it: silver polish

Lovely vanilla perfume, sweet, a little spicy with the orchid note quite intense which gives the perfume a high class character. Surely reminds a lot of Ange ou Demon, even so I like and I am glad to add this to my collection. The bottle is rather simple with the tattoo glove design which is just ok. Overall I am really glad to discover Jeanne Arthes perfumes, which are economic and long lasting. I would wear it during summer where my other orientals seem a bit heavy.

First impression: Vanilla Coke! Now I want one.
This is a very different take on vanilla and I like it. It would be great in fall/winter. However, I can't wear it. It sort of has a Hypnotic Poison root beer thing going on that just doesn't work on me.

I loved it so much,Love generation rock and ange ou demont are like identical twins, can't differentiate it from smell till longevity.

The similarity to Ange ou Demon is the main reason why I decided to try this scent, and I am so glad I did! On a cold winter night, I am smelling the most wonderfully cool, crisp licorice, a very different take on the ingredient than Lolita Lempicka. This was my first introduction to Jeanne Arthes perfumes, and I do have to say that I am extremely impressed. I am most content with this scent, which can stand on its own against Ange ou Demon for a fraction of the price without smelling cheap or synthetic in the least. A true bargain!

Yesterday I purchased a Linn Young fragrance not listed on this site which incidentally perfume lovers is a strong copy of this. Linn Young's 'OSO Woman' in an amazing purple sculpted aka Gautier flacon is identical to Jeanne's 'Love Generation Rock'. It was a mere 14 Dollars. Aussie one's for a 100 mill EDP. Or one might say another version of 'Ange ou Demon'? at a fraction of the price, and I can't smell anything obnoxious about this fragrance either. It has great sillage and is quite long lived on my skin. And that's saying something, as fragrances don't seem to like hanging around on me. I found this, and he also stocks a few Jeanne Arthes other fragrances, at a small independent chemist in Balaclava near the station. His sign outside say's discount perfumes and the chemist is called 'Wholesale Chemist'. He also stocks 'Coscentra' and 'Linn Young'. I also saw Sistell fragrances as well. 'Sanderling'. Anyway I hope this information helps the Melbournian Fragrantica members.

The strongest notes for me are ylang ylang and vanilla, saffron, and tender woodsy notes. My nose gets sweet coconut as well.

It reminds me a little of Harajuku Lovers' G edt, but as this is an edp, the longevity and projection are superior. Even my hb liked this scent on his skin.

Longevity is good, best year round in my opinion, cold or warm, though I have not tried it in a warm climate.

This is a lot like Romantic. I was given about 50 sachets of Romantic about Ten years ago and was so impressed with it's longevity and ability to make me feel as though I had something truly different and sexy on.
Jeanne Arthes fragrances are in a class of their own and represent true value for money, and one can say uniquely scented to identify with the product.
I was so hoping to find any of these fragrances and travelled closer to town to find an outlet that does sell a couple of varieties from this range.
This fragrance is aromatic and slightly sweet, mingles well with my bad habits.
At under Ten Aussie dollars for a 60 mill bottle of Eau De Parfum. I'd say it's a gem of a deal.
The fragrance lasts quite a while on me.

Wow another winner! I also have Love never dies Gold and I am in love with that one as well. This I think I might love even more. I honestly have owned really expensive perfumes but I seem to find more comfort in the less costly ones. I would not mind owning every single perfume from the Jeanne Arthes line. From my experience with two of them they are high quality well made fragrances that have great sillage and lasting power. What more can you ask for at $14 a bottle? Great smell, gorgeous bottle and long lasting power. A big win in my book!

Love this, putting it in my top 5, sweeter than AoD to me but very similiar, good 6+ hours and arm's length sillage.. I smell lots of vanilla & orchid, a hint of the tonka, ylang ylang, saffron & the woods.. Doesn't seem to change at all on me.

This intrigued me due to the comparison made to AoD. To me this does not smell like AoD. It has indeed the same notes, but still it smells rather different.
I think it's a bit too strong on saffron in the opening, but that luckily doesn't stay strong for too long. It dries down to a woodsy, slightly spicy vanilla on me.
It's nice & sweet... and just very different from what I normally like.
Nice for the cooler days of the year. A warm, sweet & cozy scent. Medium sillage & good longevity on me.

EDIT: Hmm.... now I own AoD as well and compared them next to each other and they are quite similar after all. Especially in the opening, in the dry-down they go separate ways. I think LGR stays more thick & sweeter than AoD whereas AoD becomes a tad fresher.

It's nice,..I like it... on my skin it really doesn't small like AOD at all.. this to me is way more powdery and soft. A great scent for a fall day.

Thank goodness that I have no clue what Ange ou Demon smells like, so I don't have that preconception fixed in my mind! Nor am I familiar with any of the other perfumes to which this has been compared . . . nor do I like playing the comparing game unless I have gotten ripped off with a cheap replica of something that I want.

Having said that, I am surprised that I like this scent, it is far distant from my usual "heavy" favorites like Coco, Encens Flamboyant, Habanita . . . you get the idea. At first sniff I was turned off by an underlying smell of medicinal balm (saffron or thyme?). Thankfully that went away quickly and I am left with a nice sweet fragrance without any suggestion of heavy base notes. It is different (for me) and I like it for that very reason.

It is sweet, but not that cloying candy sweet that was so prominent for a few years, I ran at the first hint of that sickly sweet stuff! This is a nice sweet and, on me, it doesn't smell of any particular identifiable flower or ingredient.

I am not surprised to find an inexpensive quality perfume coming from Grasse. A few years ago I was able to purchase wonderful perfumes from a small Grasse company that was selling on Ebay. Unfortunately, they are no longer on Ebay and I have gotten the company name. The only bottle remaining is a very base heavy EDP named Ange Noire and a smaller bottle of straight Fleur Oranger (their spelling) EDT. It was possible to buy these individual notes in order to blend your own personal scent.

I haven't smelled Ange ou Demon, though the notes seem almost identical, but I have smelled Classique, and I agree with the comparison. This fragrance was a blind buy today at CVS for $9.99, and I'd say it's well worth it! Bettany87 and Robynlovesperfume did not steer me wrong. The fragrance is soooo sweet, but the spiciness takes the edge off and makes it complex. I definitely get the root beer scent cited in another review, as well as black jelly beans. I feel like someone else (in a good way) when I wear this. It's different from most of my other perfumes, both for its sweet/spicy blend and the tattoo aesthetic of the bottle. It's a defamiliarizing and kind of disorienting fragrance, and I have enjoyed wearing it! So glad I happened to see it; it was not in the locked cabinet with most of the other fragrances. It was practically on the floor.

Cheap but with perfect quality. This smell is quite uncanny in the place I live in. Strong woods, balmy and cinnamonny sweet. A fragrance for colder weather. The tangerine note remains the whole while, backed up by the brown woods.

I hate to smell it all the time, but small pockets of scent surrounding me the whole time is the best way to go, which it does so effortlessly.

Definitely unique, not that pretty or fun.

A cheaper, although long-lasting, impression of Givenchy Ange ou Demon.

No ylang-ylang here. THere's that familiar cold-spicy opening from Ange ou Demon (saffron?). Lovely woody drydown. It's not Givenchy but it smells good nonetheless: as one reviewer said, the Jeanne Arthes fragrances are seriously underrated on account of their price point and packaging.

UPDATE: Has anyone else noticed that this develops a sort of clean musk feel, a la Johnson's Baby Shampoo? With echoes of Shulton Blue Jeans from the 70s. Such a cozy feeling.

I like this best, next to Sexy Me # 1, for it's longevity and woody, herby sweetness that reminds me of root beer! Perhaps a root beer float. Anyway, it was inexpensive and smells like it's worth much more.
Update:This is almost identical to Diesel Loverdose!

It has some similarities with Ange ou Demon, but they're not the same! Nevermind, tihs one is really long lasting for the price and worth having in everyday perfume collection!

I've tried many Arthes scents and this one seems to me has the best longevity. I can see the similarity with ange et demon. On me this smells like Menen baby powder and baby cologne that I wore in my teens. It's cute !

on jeanne arthes spree today... generation rock on my skin is like spicy, woody, sweet & balmy (very prominent) and hint of floral... reminds me of some kind of sweet/candy like when i was little :) anyhow like it alot very unique scent, good for nite time wear

I got it yesterdey and because I've already known from the reviews that it resembles Ange ou Demon, I sprayed one wrist with it, and the other one with my sample of AoD. What did I found out? Well I agree it smells very like Ange ou Demon, but something is different and this something attracts me more towards the original fragrance. Don't get me wrong, I like them both, but while AoD develops on my skin quite qickly into those woody, sensual, a bit masculine notes, Love Generation Rock stays long on this citrusy note (ylang-ylang, tangerine?) which in not my favourite and smells a bit cheap. I bought it hopefully it'd replace Ange ou Demon when my samples were out... Well I'm sure it will to some extent, but I agree with Bettany87 - it's good the have them both.

Vampire in a cathedral - I read this simple review that one of the other members made of Ange ou Demon and I loved that image , I think this has the same delicious edgy, gothic vibe.
. Love Generation Rock is an amazing mix of herbaceous sweetness , spice and woods. It has a coolness permeating the whole of it , which is very seductive and unique and gives edge to it .
I agree that this is almost identical to Ange ou Demon .
When I first sprayed this on my wrist from the tester I noticed it left a slight sheen on my skin, not just disappearing in a cloud of alcohol. I knew right away I had something here that had quality and ofcourse the beautiful sweet,spicy cool balmy woodsy scent .
All this for $9.99 at my local CVS pharmacy,and I'm so happy I stopped to check out the small Jeanne Arthes perfumes display they had put up amongst various other cheapy scents, makeup and whatnots. It's such a little thrill to find such a lovely perfume in there. Ed Hardy style stuff is not my thing but I decided the bottle was pretty and bright - the perfume inside , incredible ! Love this one.
Goes on very strong, mellows , lasts about 5 hours on me, longer if sprayed in my hair.

It's hard not to fall in love with this fragrance. I've had this for months now and just realized that it's really a gorgeous scent. I just upgraded my review from "like" to "love". It's a pretty, soft and airy fragrance ... I smell the floral notes which seem to be dancing with the woody and vanilla notes. I love the balance of sweet and light, just beautiful!

UPDATE: I just got my GIVENCHY ANGE OU DEMON and I clearly see the comparison that everyone is citing in their reviews. The dry down is so similar with a slight difference that ANGE OU DEMON is warm and sultry while the LOVE GENERATION ROCK is light and fresh. It's good to have both, great for whatever mood you're in.

Love it! It´s indeed exactly the same smell like Givenchy Ange ou Demon. It´s fresh and a little bit sweet and spicy. I really like it and for such a low price.

This perfume is exactly exactly exactly to "ANGE OU DEMON", but I love "Love Generation Rock" actually I rather this one than "Ange ou Demon" I really don´t know exactly why maybe because of the bottle with an Ed Hardy´s similar design :)

The notes here are incorrect or there's been a drastic reformulation. I have the box in front of me:
tangerine is the only top note listed, heart notes are orchid, lily flower and ylang and base notes (described as its "slipstream") are tonka beans and oak absolute. No mandarin orange, no Brazilian rosewood, no saffron, no thyme and no straight vanilla.

That said, this is a truly lovely, powdery-sweet concoction that lasts hours and hours on skin and a couple of days on fabric. I'm not wild about the tangerine opening and am not disappointed that it fades quickly. Heart notes remain through the drydown on me with ylang, orchid and tonka reminding me very much of Halle Berry's Pure Orchid but whereas HBPO is very nice, Love Generation Rock is so much more sophisticated. LGR's oak notes are the stars of the drydown but are only noticeable as an alchemical magic that makes this potion instantly recognizable as a truly French fragrance. (Oak is also in Elixir de Merveilles and works the same magic here as there.)

Very inexpensive - and I don't understand how this can be so for a fragrance made in Grasse with obviously high quality ingredients.

Oh wow , just tested this perfume this weekend . wow it is a very true dupe off ange ou demon . this is slightly sweeter and not as sparkly fresh as the Ange ou demon , but nevertheless this is a very very good dupe. Ange ou demon is darker whit a twist . i guess i would say this one is more linere. this lasted on the skin for quite some time aswell at least 5 hours going strong then more off a skin scent . worth a try :)

This smells nothing like Ange ou Demon. I have that and it dries down much nicer than this. This one smelled like spicey sweat. It is horrible and very masculine. When first sprayed it is nice but the drydown both on the card and on skin is just not nice let alone the lack of staying power total waste of time.

It reminds me of Jean Paul Gaultier's "Classique" which also reminds me of "Ange ou Demon". I own all of them, but think "Love Generation Rock" has the most sweetness in it. I think it's the "youngest" of them all.

Mystica is right, it reminds me of Ange ou Demon which i really like. A little bit bubble-gum-ish but sexy in a way. Made in Grasse, France d capital perfume of the world. A perfume doesn't need to be expensive to smell good. xxx

A very interesting scent. Smells a bit woody but in a feminine way. I can smell a vanilla ice-cream whit alot of saffron on my skin. Staying power is awsome!

Very unique scent. It is not remind me other parfums! Very long lasting, super power 10/10 (of staying power). I can feel a lots of vanilla which I like for so long. I can smell even saffron! I can't understand how it can be so cheap? I know many other expensive parfums who are not worth their prices.

If you are a perfume monster like me who can't resist experimenting with anything and everything from rare to find gems to cheap perfume and splurging on this kind of stuff whenever they are available at some near store, go for this if you like the general idea of the original thing yet suspect that it will bore you quick.
