Top notes are Lavender, Pink Pepper and Tangerine; middle notes are Heliotrope, Orris and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Vanilla, Musk and Amber.

Jil by Jil Sender arrives on the market in August 2009. The fragrance is described as elegant, feminine and floral in the beginning, with warm, mysterious accords of vanilla and amber in the finish.

This would have been the perfect soft fluffy lavender comfort scent that I've been looking for. It's too bad pink pepper and I don't get along :( for me its scratchiness ruins the soft texture.

UnearthlyApothecary

OMG! I absolutely love this! This is like the masculine version of Simply Poudree. I totally agree with the comments that this really doesn’t smell like a scent for women (like Simply EDP) the house of Jil makes some very unconventional scents for women that really strike a chord to us scent gender benders. I love the zesty pink pepper and herbal lavender opening followed by the orris and heliotrope powder, this one isn’t all that sweet but the vanilla lends just the right amount of sweetness. This is such a cool
contrast between herbal freshness and cozy powder. I could honestly wear this one every day without tiring. Fantastic silage will update later on longevity

Smells VERY masculine to me. Like aftershave. Also resembles Style a lot, but a weaker, weirder, more masculine version.

For those who think they could like it because they like Mon Guerlain, I’d say it’s not that easy.
Guerlain managed to create a fresh lavender bouncing on the vanilla-guerlinade, but they weren’t the only ones who explored the lavender + vanilla accord. In Jill, we are more on the woody serious side of the blue flower. The one we find in Pour un Homme Caron or even in Blue Jeans. It’s not bouncing at all, it’s calm and slightly medicinal, almost camphorous. It’s a solid base note and behaves like this, just like the vanilla base does too. And this vanilla can’t be the thick Guerlain’s pillow signature. The result is comforting, frank, very reliable, so it’s not a bad thing, it’s just different.

Edit : there’s a sweet gender free note of cardamom in the dry down, and unfortunately I can’t stand cardamom on my skin. But if you like it, go for it.

First time I bought a Jil Sander perfume and it's a blind purchase. I used it for two days now, and Jil is definitely very similar to Armani Lei till the base and there it starts to smell like Lei and Lacoste pour femme mixture.

I like Jil better than both in composition of smell.
However, it disturbs me and I cough, that never happens with quality perfumes.

I assume the quality of ingredients used in Jil Sander perfumes is not as good as in Armani's, nor Lacoste’s.

I can easily understand the low and high quality fragrances as my breathing is suddenly disturbed when the quality is low. If this wouldn't happen, I'd purchase other Jil Sander perfumes too.

Lavender and vanilla can‘t really go wrong to my nose. So maybe I‘m biased, but Jil smells really nice. The lavender is very aromatic in here, more so than in other women‘s fragrances that use sweeter lavender notes. But Jil also has a sweet side, so everything is well-balanced in the end. Next to lavender, heliotrope is the most dominant note in this, it‘s in a perfect place between creamy and powdery. When you sniff carefully, you can smell a second layer of amber and mandarins blending in with the lavender, vanilla, heliotrope and powdery notes.

I understand the comparison to Armani Lei. They‘re by no means twins, but they share a few notes and both have a hint of masculine aromatic notes mixed with the doll skin vibe I often get from heliotrope. I also think anyone familiar with Jil Sander fragrances will recognize Jil as one of them. If you like the notes of Mon Guerlain but want something more robust, less girly and sweet, this would be a good choice. It also projects very well in the first hours, but I don‘t think it‘s too overwhelming.

Clean and very powdery. An interesting fragrance. Has something urban to it. I think this is the only powdery fragrance i've tested that i think is best to wear at night. To my taste Jil is too powdery and too linear, but i can't say it is bad.
It projects well for the first 30 minutes.
I would recommend it to a casual, modern working lady 25+.
If you liked Jil Sander Eau Poudrée, you will probably like this one too.
Final note: 6,5/10

this is in my top 10. the scent is incredible, edible and delightful. i adore creamy vanilla floating with a soft floral touch. all times this perfume should be worn. the scent always makes my day, even better than it was.

Shwets

This is how i wanted Ellen Tracy Bronze to be! Well blended, smooth and very long lasting. It also reminds me of Armai Lei but again Jil is so smooth and nicer.

Molly Smith

Jil evokes an image of a well-ironed white shirt. I think it would be a perfect office scent for a professional woman who knows what she wants. It is a clean powdery scent with noticeable lavender and vanilla. To me it appears like an older sister of Burberry Brit: less sweet and playful, without the pear, but with lavender instead. It's elegant powderinesd also reminds me of Infusion d'Iris. Like it!

Second review:
I was very excited when I first bought this one but after a while,I felt indifferent about it so decided to swap it away.fortunately the deal was canceled for some reason and now I can see how lucky I was that I still have this beauty
Jil has definitely a lot in common with Armani Lei and Mon Guerlain (I like both a lot)but it's better than both of them IMO.I can detect all of the top rated notes in it:vanilla, heliotrope, musk, lavender,a hint of amber, even pink pepper which I don't usually like but is in perfect harmony with other notes here.I agree that it's musk is as creamy and lovely as Narciso EDP and Poudre's musk.vanilla isn't a foody one.it's powdery and adult.lavender doesn't make it sharp or masculine or weird.it's just a very cozy, smooth, clean and powdery-creamy perfume which has a lovely feminine softness and warmth.it's so unpretentiously beautiful, calming, feminine, simple but sophisticated and classy that giving it away could be one of my biggest perfume-related mistakes.it's also long lasting and has a nice moderate sillage.I wore it today at university, also tonight in a family dinner, and I'm wearing it before sleep too.it seems great for all these occasions and I received a complement from my mom,she said:your perfume is very classy and pleasant.and she usually hates my vanilla dominant perfumes
Dear jil,I promise I won't take you for granted this time

I've been enjoying this scent for a while now. Recently it dawned on me that it smelt similar to another fragrance I had recently tried. Guerlains new Mon Guerlain.
A friendly and lovable vanilla and lavender scent. It also has strong similarities with the Narciso range. It's that soft, clean musk.
I get good sillage and longevity with this beauty.

Pari88

A very strong citrusy powder vanilla lavender fragrance. It smells very similar to cascade chopard. It also reminds me of a men’s fragrance done for women. I am enjoying it in the cold weather. It feels cosy and put together, like your wearing a power suit with the coziest of cashmere scarfs. Strong sharp lavender, vanilla baby powder and soft citrusy musc, one of the beat in its genre that I’ve tried. Good for casual or business evenings out, beautiful for days at home and lounging and light enough for work.

Maryxcontrary

On me this smells so similar to Chanel Egoiste. I compared the notes and when I found they didn't match up I kept my opinion to myself.
Well, I'm wearing this today and the first thing my partner did was laugh and ask me if I was wearing his perfume.
There you have it, my nose is not broken!
If you want a feminine version of Egoiste this is the perfume for you

samantham-123

I reveiwed this ages ago, very briefly as i was in a hurry but, i described it as key lime pie lol. I still think that but i had not actually seen the notes when i first tried it so i didnt realise that there isnt even any lime listed, it was just such a yummy zesty creamy fragrance that i loved while it was available, i went through a 30ml then a 100ml in less than 3years, which is rare for me as i constantly rotate through my collection and very quickly get bored with a perfume if i overdo it. Im getting tired of all the ones i love being discontinued..it keeps happening, maybe i just have weird taste and love the unpopular ones i dunno. im thinking of trying the Sensual version of this in the desperate hope that it comes close to this one, but im prepared for dissapointment. If anyone here can tell me if theyre similar that'd be great.
For a bottle of this in oz, its only on ebay and its about 150 dollars, so maybe i should stop clinging to the past and let this powdery creamy citrusy sweet dream go in peace

mapache

I find this "similar" to Guerlain Mon Guerlain, although not a true "dupe" IMO. And,it IS cheaper too...lol.
Maybe not worth owning both...???....Jil is a perfectly nice scent, and has decent longevity/sillage. I LOVE Mon Guerlain,so this Jil would fit right along side it,since I like/love these types of fragrances.

Maryxcontrary

I received JIL as a gift before finding this site and didnt really like it. I thought it was boring and "old" and overly spicy
At the time l didnt have as much of an appreciation for perfumes and the amount of depth they can actually have if given time
After finding this site however I gave it another chance and now l have a new found appreciation for Jil. The drydown is very different to the Initial spray
It has a beautiful but subtle warnth to it and it sits close to the skin which I love
There's a slight sweetness there, I feel like everything about this perfume (except the initial spray) is subtle.
I like it

someoneseriouslyhasthatun

I blind bought this because the note list was similar to mon guerlain. Have you ever had a therapeutic rice bag with lavender buds? It's really relaxing and reminds me of that. There isn't the sharpness to lavender that I was afraid of experiencing. It does smell like mon guerlain! The lavender played way down, it's like the drydown but strong and dreamy. It also reminds me so much of sleepy time tea, I can wrap myself in this. Mmmnn it's so cozy. It's the feeling of walking into your warm house after driving home in the cold rain.

The bottle is beautiful and frustrating. It's big and so much of it is glass, it looks sleek but seeing the size and knowing most of it /isn't/ fluid is upsetting? I'd rather it just be small but it's so pretty. So mixed feelings on the bottle.

I don't mean to only compare it to mon guerlain but it's the only similar thing I've experienced (I've not experience mon exclusif which is supposed to be a buttery more desert like alternative, so I can't compare them). I don't feel like I have to own both, I'd like to, but they're similar in effect enough for me to be satisfied with this alone. :)

shushkin

A beautiful fragrance. There is some similarity with Mon Guerlain but this is a tad softer and warmer. I agree that the Heliotrope and vanilla are very evident on the opening. It settles and then you feel the warmth of amber and a little kick from the lavender and pink pepper. When I say a little kick I mean more like a nudge.
This is a very smooth and well blended scent. The musk in this makes me think of Narciso Rodriguez fragrances but this for me has more personality.
A very easy to wear scent. Almost comforting. What a shame it has been discontinued.
Average sillage and longevity.

Holli

This one has everything without anything being too much. Creamy. Powdery. Thick and rich. Light and fresh. Sweet but understated. I do not pick up separate notes in this very much, but it is way more than the sum of its parts!

samantham-123

I loved this fragrance! But sadly its discontinued so its more expensive now if you're lucky enough to find an unopened bottle online anywhere key lime pie with cream. Thats what i got everytime i sprayed it. Its creamy and sweet, citrucy and fresh yet crisp and clean.
The lasting power was good too. Sigh...why must all really good things come to an end?

Soofiya

Armani lei was my signature for a while, back then a kind fragrantican friend suggested me to try jil by jil sander.it's notes look lovely and reviews encouraged me to add it to my wish list but I couldn't find it.jil Sander perfumes aren't available here but I couldn't find it even in foreign sites and amazon so I forgot about it.yesterday while window shopping,I saw it in a corner of a perfume shop!I couldn't believe my eyes but it was there.a 50mil bottle with a 50$ price tag.I bought it immediately.when I opened it at home, seeing it's brownish liquid scared me but fortunately it hasn't turned bad
When I sprayed it I was surprised!I have a mini of jil sander sensation and I find jil very similar to sensation!but it also reminded me another perfume.on my skin jil is a love child of jil sander sensation and boucheron place vendom edp(specially in it's first hour).it's the exact blend of these two!
It's very soapy in it's first half an hour, also sharp and cold but I like it(I think it acts on my skin different from how it acts on majority).I can detect a hint of fruity undertone, like sweet orange and some litchi but mostly it's about powdery, soapy vanilla, pink pepper and slightest hint of lavender.gradually it softens to a creamy and very pleasant musky-vanilla-floral.it's not cold and soapy anymore.in this stage,I can find out that it has also a little in common with armani lei and JPG classique edt,it reminds me all these perfumes still has its' own aura and can't be called dupe of any of them
Unlike some other reviews, jil isn't heavy or overly floral in my experience.I can't detect specific floral notes except heliotrope and something like orange flower which is not even listed!it's vanilla isn't gourmand or too sweet.it puts together all soapy and powdery and creamy notes and adds a touch of warmth and sweetness to give them life.
It was a successful blindbuy as I expected (I love vanilla, heliotrope, musk and lavender).it's a cozy and relaxing scent which is at the same time clean and has a airy and fresh undertone(that fruity whisper keeps it sort of fresh).I like how easy to wear it is while being stylish.goes well with smart/chic casual outfit.I see that most people see it a fall/winter scent but I prefer sweet and heavy Oriental vanilla and gourmands for colder months and this type of clean powdery musky scents is what I prefer for my spring and non hot days of summer.now that I'm wearing it is a chilli spring day and it feels good and suitable
Longevity has passed six hours already and sillage is more than moderate. It's a good perfume and didn't deserve to be discontinued
I'm not sure about going back and buying another bottle as backup now that I can just because I have a lot of perfumes in this genre but I highly recommend that if you come accros a bottle give it a try.
Edit:
It's the second day of wearing it and it's acting a bit different. I guess yesterday there must be a bit of teint de neige remained on my skin from before (and you know how that one lingers for more tgan 24hours!)and mixed with jil
Now it's not cold and sharp in the opening.not even really soapy.it's so pleasant and sensual that now that I'm thinking I will definitely need another bottle.if it wasn't discontinued It would be a stable in my collection. It's signature worthy

Germanblonde

There are hardly any Jil Sander fragrances that I don't love (not that I tried them all, but I own and owned quite a few and tried quite a lot of them). They make me feel so feminine and evoke a feeling of comfort and coziness. Jil is no exception to that rule. I wore Jil Sander fragrances a lot when I still lived in Germany, and have forgotten about my deep love affair with them for almost 20 years, since I live in the USA (of course I didn't know this particular beauty back then, as it was created after I came here, but it stands for the same quality like all other Jil Sander frags I love and own). Thanks to Ebay and other websites, I rediscovered my love and have to acknowledge now what I knew all along: Jil Sander fragrances are the best fit for me by far, and I restocked these beauties again.

You need to give all Jil frags time to develop. They don't smack you right in the face, but once they unfold their beauty, they are addicting. Same with this one. I am sitting here, writing my review and watching TV, with one wrist up to my nose every other minute or so. I love the almost smoldering grown up vanilla. The powdery aspect adds to the smoothness. I feel like sitting on a cloud of cotton candy, not a too sweet of a treat, but still yummy and fluffy. Lasting power is, like most Jil Sander frags, not the greatest. Even with shower gel, lotion and the juice applied together, I get barely 3 hours out of it, which I only graciously forgive if the scent is at least an A. Jil is an A+, so I totally forgive her the shortcoming in that sector. I absolutely love her!

LLB_addict

Make sure you allow this time to open. I thought at first that I wasn't going to like this because it was leaning on the harsh spicy side. However, after about 15 minutes, it starts to go toward the lovely powdery fragrance described below. It doesn't seem like it is going to be high on either the longevity or sillage side. I would suggest sampling prior to buying a full bottle.

goldeneraglamour

An underrated perfume. Complex. Interesting take on heliotrope with what I presume is the pink pepper. The lavender helps to differentiate it as well. Borderlines unisex to me. Reminded me slightly of Ellen Tracy Bronze (perhaps due to the shared heliotrope + amber + citrus notes).

hnica

Just another powdery vanilla. Actually, a pastel vanilla. Safe, pretty, understated. No alarms and no surprises...

genny17

It is more powdery than I remember it, it is very feminine, a bit boozy also, and different...very much a winter scent I think...for me, the powdery thing just is a bit much. so not for me...very few Jil Sander have worked well for me, they lack some excitement, I find them a bit flat, and just boring..,
I think though on the right chemistry it would be lovely.

starvega

The slight woodiness gives this vanilla a really grown up feeling. Decent sillage and it feels very cosy - very slightly Kenzo Amour-ish. Slightly synthetic but there are definitely worse culprits for this. Overall really great for the price!

KATERINA LABROPOULOU

JIL seems very peppery modern and rather sweet perfume of a great quality. Reminds me a lot of Maubousin (femme)edp. I can detect a strong musk along with woods which make this one very feminine. My first Jil Sander perfume bough blindly and I like it a lot. The sillage and longevity both above average.

Beautiful_Scent

Gorgeous, I cannot add anything to what's been said here. I will just make sure this beauty will always have its place amongst my favourite perfumes.
Jil makes me feel very happy and feminine. And as far as I know it's not been discontinued :-)

shushkin

I cant believe it! I think I have found my most favourite perfume. Please believe that this really is saying something when you havean enormous perfume collection like mine. All my favourite notes of heliotrope, vanilla, amber and lavender beautifully brought together to create my idea of perfume perfection. THe sillage is moderate and the longevity moderate.

auroramaria

I revisited Jil few days ago after a few months break an I must say this is an outstanding fragrance rich warm and sophisticated vanilla amber and heliotrope make it creamy and sweet but not candy like, and there's a touch of lavander mixed perfectly in the composition.
Jil will leave a trail of pure goodness as you walk by.
I've been asked many times about my perfume and been complimented while wearing Jil so def a keeper

bananas

I just received my online purchase of a 30ml sized bottle of Jil.

Although it is not a listed note, I do get a sweet leathery tobacco in the dry down.
This is a very warm & comforting creamy vanilla & amber floral just as most reviews have stated.
To me...it smells divine & luxurious. & it LASTS.
Stunning!

LULUBELLEFISHER

I like Jil. I get a chocolate smell. It's long lasting. My first Jil Sander fragrance.

pacciosa

I agree to Goldfinch, this one is a good perfume but Style is the best, initially jil is too strong lavender, identical to Chloe eau de fleurs lavander...yes base notes are similar to style, but in the complexion Style is perfect!! I don't like this one very much!
mhhh....after a while and sniff and sniff..i agree it's a beautiful perfume! soft creamy and sweet like a young woman, near to the skin when the initial lavender goes out

lirael00

Jil Sander Jil truly is a gem. What a sensual fragrance that is. For me it's musky vanilla and it gives me this image of warm summer nights. Drydown is a creamy and luxurious. It's really pleasant to wear and it makes you feel comfortable in your own skin.

Clyn11

Pink Pepper and Heliotrope lovers will enjoy this very much! Nice powdery and good longevity :) Autumn/Winter scent.

Mellyhelly

I saw this one in a duty-free in Frankfurt not long ago.
I tried it again, it was second or third time.
I knew that I liked it but was not love.
It's a pleasant warm floral vanilla, easy wear yet conforting with style. Nothing original here, just a modern fragrance in a fashionable yet knowing way.
Nothing pops out too strong. The overall effect is that of a pleasant feminien scent that can be smelled on many ladies around in everyday life, not offending if not overdone, quite familiar and not subtle.
I can see how this one can appeal the German taste for perfume because it smells both feminine and distinct, not overtly sexual. It can be worn together with a balck suit at workplace and after work for a drink with co-workers.
Longlasting.

Julia25

Sensual, warm, comforting. Beautiful consonance of lavender and vanilla. This fragrance dresses me up in cold days and gives me impression of soft cashmere sweater. Wearing Jil makes me feel confident and very feminine.

auroramaria

Missk: sadly this gorgeous perfume has been discontinued!
I love it and have stocked up also on the body lotions!!
Jil is quite unique, so comforting and warm even sensual, lasts a long time too.
Like all the really good fragrances this had to be pulled off the shelves! Shame indeed!
Get a few bottles while you can.

missk

Jil by Jil Sander is such a pleasant surprise. To be honest, I really didn't expect much. I had fobbed this fragrance off as being a typical fresh, 'pink' floral. I'm now happy to admit that my assumptions had been very wrong.

Jil is a sweet, powdery fragrance. Heliotrope is the most dominant note to my nose, followed by warm vanilla, orris root and white musk. In my experience, heliotrope can often smell nutty and delicious when used in perfume. In the past I've mistaken heliotrope for the scent of sugared almonds.

In many ways Jil reminds me of Alexander McQueen's My Queen. Despite the fact that My Queen has a unique violet opening, its drydown is very powdery and foody, not unlike Jil's drydown. I enjoy both of these fragrances equally.

There are rumours going around that Jil may be discontinued very soon. I really hope that is not the case. This is one of the better mainstream fragrances on the market today, and that's saying a lot.

The lavender is almost non-existent in Jil's composition. I smell it only slightly in the drydown, however it's not nearly as aromatic as I thought it would be. What I get from this fragrance is an enveloping sense of warmth and femininity.

The sillage is surprisingly powerful, as is the longevity. I would recommend Jil for the cooler months, however I'd also be game enough to wear it during Spring as well. I highly recommend.

Anywho

Jil is a smooth and slightly powdery liquorice scent to my nose. No hard edges in here. It is a very nice everyday scent which has medium sillage, excellent longevity and stays quite linear when sprayed on clothes (which is how I wear all my fragrances). It is a fantastic alternative to Lolita Lempicka. I love L L but in the subtropical climate I live in, it can be a bit much at times, especially in summer. I have looked for a long time to find something similar to L L that I can enjoy all year round. Jil is it. Jil has an unobtrusive presence that speaks up every now and then as if to say, "Hey, I'm still here you know!". Quite the right thing for casual and office wear. It is not a big statement perfume but who would want that everyday? It could become quite exhausting.

genny17

I don't know why I find the Jil Sanders' s fragrances so un -distinctive and formal, they don't do anything for me, they are soft, plain, one dimensional. That brand just isnt doing anything for me. I can see they would work good for ladies who like softer scents with a serious edge. Just too flat.

tanjuska76

just get it,amazing smells...

laetitiavp

Jil is one my best blind buys. I don't find it particularly heavy (but beware Alien is not that heavy to me)... I may be wrong to think it is a bit masculine at the beginning but I mostly smell lavender and red pepper, with a touch of vanilla. I love these notes in men's fragrances. Then it becomes warmer and more powdery when heliotrope develops, leaving a sensual sillage behind you . Very enthralling, comforting and seductive.
I don't like the bottle plastic side parts though... they look cheap. But who cares when the fragrance is so well-made and captivating!

dkny27

Girly girl.... This is all peppery, powdery, vanilla and it is just plain pretty.... It is fragrant and great for cooler weather, I think "holidays"... but this would work all winter; mostly because of the heavier notes this carries...
It fills the air around you and lasts quite a long time.... It is true to the notes listed above...

smellysmellycat

Jil is a fragrance that can change your mood.

Its powdery Patchouli notes surround you and makes you feel sexy. It has a very moderate sugar smell to it. Its ideal for cold days, day and night. I think its more suitable for ages above 23.

When i smell jil, it makes me want to wear a black cashmere pullover on a winter day and hug my boyfriend while looking through the window to the snowy scene out there, feeling warm and loved.

I want this smell to last forever but unfortunately it does not last that long. I can hardly smell it after 5 hours. It doesnt have a powerful sillage as well.

Mooniq

Wonderful scent. Opens up a bit softpeppery/flowery. Soft and elegant on my skin. At base I can smell ambergris, musk, iris - really a beautiful mix. I can't detect any Lavender or Mandarin. Jil is not a modern sugarsweet scent but it has an airy sweetnes. I can't say its powdery, not on my skin. A great every-day-scent!

Underbar doft.

ladyimmortelle

I dislike most of Sander's fragrances, but wow. This is just wow. Pretty floral, pretty sensual, pretty creamy. Pretty much.. One of my favourite scents.

gigi_os

I was attracted to it because, it was a bit darker, musky flowery fragrance, but then i realized that after half an hour, the only thing that you smell is an awfuly hard, anoying and dull smell of iris, combined with sad vanilla and musk. Everything in this parfume makes me feel depressed, so I choose not to wear it. Not for me.

Nursie

This was a perfect scent on my wedding day. Sadly my dad passed away a year later but when I spray this now it brings back wonderful memories :)

evacecilias

I was really surprised with this one, tried it at an airport recently and loved it!
I knew I had to have it!
It starts with a somewhat sharp pepper note that actually stays through all the fases, but not harsh at all.
The rest of the notes gives you a creamy wonderful embrace that lingers and tease, with a sofisticated smell !! The heart reveals heliotrope which is really beautiful and the base is vanilla and a very nice and a little sweet musk ! Very powdery and lovely base.
I would call this a soft, spicy, light oriental.

Play it again - Jil !
Nobody puts Jil in a corner !
Go ahead, Jil - make my day !

vialon3

Very feminine. The EDP is a creamy, soft powder with a loyal vanilla base. Great on cold, winter days. Gives a cozy feeling. Begins with a nice blend of Heliotrope and Lily then mellows out. There is a "ghost" of something interesting around the edge; maybe the pepper? Anyway, the drydown is good and the sillage stays close by. The EDP remains loyal and lasts most of the day. The vanilla is delicate and sweet but not sickening like some others. Yes, I am talking about you Chloe. JIL is my current perfume choice. The weather is cold outside and this perfume is comforting.

Nadia Beatriz

I love this one :) Very sexy fragrance for this winter .. yummi

Jil - another beautiful scent by Olivier Polge. Got a feeling, that this gentleman knows, what women want to wear :) Every time I wear this one - I fly in the skies made of Iris with the clous made of Vanilla. Very delicious journey!

I like the fragrance very much. I've decided I have too many bottles of perfume and cut my collection down to about 13-14 bottles (of course I still have lots of perfume in common, minor sprays - I've left some mililitres for me :) ) And I leave a bottle of "Jil" - it's among these 14 bottles.

That's why I like it very much:
it's a warm and positive smell - it smells great during cold days, such a hugger :)The beginning is peppery and bubble gum-ish, something like a funny girl/woman in a good humour going to party :) (The bottle is also party/disco - lookalike in my opinion). As I usually don't like lily in fragrances, this one does great, it isn't sad. Jil is powdery and thick and has a good lasting power. In the end when amber comes into play, though I can feel it from the beginning, becomes strong and I like amber in perfumes very much.

It really has something in common with My Insolence and L'Instant Magic (thickness, powderiness).

it's a really beautiful perfum, u can feel it's from this kind of perfums which ur nose ask for it again & you are able to smell many times without stop. it's sexy femme perfume. I smell it with my wife both of us we like it. she die on it. in fact I hoped she didn't smell it ^^ coz I need to buy it for her next time :'(

I sprayed Jil on my wrist and I got lavender sweetened by vanilla and heliotrope, and powdery drydown. It's feminine and quite relaxing. It reminds me of SJP Covet a bit.

Habanita

This is too sweet and too flowery for me. I see young girls with this. It's playful and powdery. It ends very vanillary and fades away after around 3 or 4 hours on my skin. Somehow it reminds me of the ending of Code Armani or L'instant Magic. Currently I'm not into gourmands , so this is too sweet and playful for me. It's not a bad or strong gourmand, but just too sweetish and too lovely :)

Jennyke

I adore this scent, agree with orangepoppy-its so so creamy and sensual, nice, florally.Amazing

caitlina

I really enjoy this scent but I wish it lasted longer. Only five hours later and I barely smell it. Nonetheless it's quite pleasant while it lasts.

Goldfinch

For me it's a mix of Jil Sander Style and L'Instant Magic. The beginning is quiet strong, spicy, but later it becomes more powdery, sweeter and warmer and I like it then. Basenotes are the same as in Style. The sillage is pretty good and it's long lasting. Nice, but I prefer Style to this one.

delphine67

I love this one, it develops in a warm and powdery scent. sure can smell the heliotrope, pepper and vanilla,On the background theres the mandarin, iris, lavender and musk. The drydown gives a spicy heliotrope and vanilla on my skin.
very feminin perfume

Wow, this does smell exactly like Play Doh on me. I tried it today thinking it would be a wonderful musky floral and for the rest of the day smelt like Play Doh. My husband was with me too and totally agreed.

I'm not sure if it's a bad thing though. This is a fragrance I don't really have any opinion on either way. This might smell wonderful on someone else but unfortunately doesn't work for me.

@guest_ocean pearl: my thought exactly, childhood sundaymornings, baked eggs and blue playdoh-spaghetti

Charming floral without depth (seems heavy only at the beginning). The most prominent note here is creamy and smooth lily (without the "air" like in Gold by Donna Karan).
I would place the scent to the same category as Bright Crystal by Versace: it lacks character (which somehow irritates me) but really addictive. Whenever you smell it around, you want to sniff it vigorously again and again.
Catching in a feminine way.
No special sillage detected but on closer inspection it's rather persistent, so the longevity is good.
P.S. I love how it sounds on my clothes two days after, with more depth actually.

hell, when i first spritz this to try, i thought immediately, this smells like a lighter version of Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier!!!!!!! I did quick compare ingredients and INDEED in the top and middle note there are the same and some similar ingredients and the base is completaly identic! my nose never failes ;o)
gosh, as i love Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier and there was nothing to compare with it so far, i m indeed very pleased to have now this one.
this is fabulous for summer! Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier is sweeter and heavier because of ginger and plum and the opulent orchid in the midle note, almost recomended for colder weather or nightwear. but the new Jil ist just perfect for springtime and daytime wear. longlasting too!

SPOILEDnose

amazing soft touching sexy feminin thing, good lasting power, a lil expensive:( if u wanna feel like a feminin godess just try it!

zvoncica

Jil is heavy floral at the beginning with dominant lily and iris notes. Vanilla is moderately accentuated, making the opening strong and powdery.

I didnt quite like the top notes, but the base notes are captivating. Musky, powdery, deep and somehow spicy. It is a scent with great strength and lasting power, so I would say perfect for winter wear. It reminds me on Guerlain L`Instant Magique.

Jil is modern and opinionated frag. I liked it a lot!

smellysmellycat

I liked it a lot actually. Not so spicy but warm. Reminds me of Gucci eau de Parfum. Can be a good choice for the winter. I'll consider that :)

cocomademoisellerie

It's a creamy, yet light vanilla scent. Nothing special, but easy to wear. Also reminds me a lot of Obsession Night, but this one is a bit warmer. And the bootle looks wonderful! Like an art object. Depicts the fragrance at it's best: simple, easy, comforting, pleasant.
Oh, and the main basenote is sth like beeswax. Smells like these hand-rolled candles. Great! No powder, no faint flowers anymore.

MahinaVanila

JIL by Jil Sander is a heavy floral but mostly powdery scent, especially in the dry down. I feel a lot of Lily at the beginning, which is just too heavy for my nose, but after a few hours it settles down to a pretty and easy to wear scent. A creamy vanilla dry down, with some powdery notes of Iris and heliotrope. The lasting power is pretty good, I think a few drops of it are more than enough.
