Simply Jil Sander Eau de Toilette by Jil Sander is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Simply Jil Sander Eau de Toilette was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Christophe Raynaud. Top notes are Ambrette (Musk Mallow), Pear and Galbanum; middle notes are Violet, Tuberose, Musk and Cardamom; base notes are Leather, Vanilla and Patchouli.

Simply Jil Sander, a chypre perfume of simple elegance and refinement, was launched in October 2014. Its masculine equivalent, Strictly Jil Sander, was launched in October 2015. The new edition Simply Jil Sander Eau de Toilette comes out in January 2016.

Simply Eau de Toilette is announced as the fragrance in which luxury and sensuality meet purity and clarity in a perfect harmony, represented by timeless style and simple elegance. Inspired by the original, the new version has a dose of nonchalance and lively freshness.

The composition was developed by perfumer Christophe Raynaud. The top notes include fresh pear, combined with ambrette seed and galbanum. Musk and violet again form the heart of the perfume, this time enriched with additional notes of feminine tuberose and subtle nuances of spicy cardamom. The base consists of patchouli, leather and vanilla.

The bottle is designed by Suzanne Dalton. The face of the campaign is German model Toni Garrn, photographed by Josh Olins. The fragrance is available as 40, 60 and 80 ml Eau de Toilette with 150 ml body milk.

I got my bottle from TkMaxx - important info as it might not have been stored in great conditions for perfume, thus influencing the content and my review.
I really enjoy this scent. I think it is clean, not soapy, professional and relatively serious yet not boring. It is complex enough to be interesting, but not overly complicated to be intimidating or overwhelming. Absolutely perfect for the office/business meetings. To me it is a violet (that actually smells a little like iris in this composition) with a strong musk and more subtle patchouli (sic!). On some days I feel the pear, on some I don't and I love it.
The performance is not amazing, but please remember it is an EDT after all. Sillage moderate within the first hour, then gone. I can feel the scent for around 3-4 hours without sniffing my wrist directly and then it becomes a skin scent/needs reapplying.
I recommend to try the EDT yourselves and have a beautiful day everyone :)

I love the smell of Fahrenheit on my husband and so when I read reviews of Simply being a feminine version I just had to get it. So I blind bought it in a set 40ml edt bottle and body lotion! It is a bit screechy on the initial spray but the dry down is lovely. Normally I take those "perfume reminds me of" with a grain of salt as I have been disappointed in the past, but not this time! This is definitely a feminine lighter version of F but I think men could definitely wear this too. I will give this a wear test to see what the longevity is like, but so far I am very satisfied with this fragrance.

Dear Ladies, I would not trip over each other if I were you on ebay to get the edp. In this edt some of the shortfalls of the edp had got fixed. for example the longevity.

I adore powdery, musky, iris/violet, leathery scents- and when this finally popped up on my radar- it was hard to find! (Frag-net.com has 2.7 bottles NIB for about $30 with a good coupon code!)

I really really love this. This is exactly what I'm into now! Seems to have great longevity and decent sillage. OMG- I really really want the EDP now, but that's even harder to find, or super expensive on ebay.

The good news- this smells VERY much like Alaia EDP which is stronger and louder- but also colder and a bit more masculine. Alaia has that cold air feeling that SSander EDT does not. Simply is still a bit cold/fresh but greener than Alaia.

Also semi-related to Girl by Pharrell Williams, which I also like. I see comparisons to Jolie Madame, but the violets in that are WAY stronger and wet/juicy. Simply is drier IMO. I don't smell anything like Bottega- that is very woody/leather/patch. Simply is light/airy/clean with a unisex casual yet classy edge.

Balsamic and spicy, reminded me of Shakira's Wild Elixir, but Simply has a masculine touch that WE doesn't have. It is an interesting fragrance, my husband liked it, but it is not to my taste. I will give it to a relative or friend.
Anyways, it is a quality fragrance, not really mainstream.
To those of you who like more opulent scents, it is worth a try.
Sillage is soft. Can't talk about longevity yet.
Final note: 7/10

My word, this scent is amazing.
Almost edible, not sweet, musky, sueded lilac coloured powdery florality, with depth and interest.

Having already worn the EDP, I bought this because it is dirt cheap and out of intrigue. Firstly I could smell it coming from the bottle before even taking off the lid, which is sometimes an indication of the scent's performance.

Initial blast of fruit and flowers. Smells different to the EDP, which is heavier and more masculine/unisex to begin. And in the top I am getting something distinctly peppery. The powdery tuberose reminds me of Chasse aux Papillions, but this is white instead of pink and thankfully (tuberose is not a love for me) it is peeking through rather than the forefront.

There are impressive distinct phases of development and it just warms up and reveals many facets, with a deep, warm base with indeed violets, woods and leather, but Simply is more than that. It isn't simple! Greenery of galbanum sits softly in the background. Less Fahrenheit than Simply EDP.

It remains a creamy, musky suede, violet and lilac coloured hazy florals that warm and fluff with the vanilla., green tinged woods beneath.

Although it doesn't smell alike, it reminds me of Narciso white cube (not in smell, but in texture and development) - the feminine white beginning and unisex base, the musks and creaminess. Both came out same year I see.
And final thing of note is that this has a Balmain feel about it to me too! like certain parts of Balmain de Balmain, Ivoire and Jolie Madame.

Feel like I have discovered a hidden gem.

Sooo.... This is an extraordinary scent which will have you noticed ladies, mark my words.

Does it remind of Fahrenheit, with its sexy leather-rubbed-in-violets note?
Heck yes, and boys, it's love at first sniff. And second, third, and forevermore! Definitely leaning on the feminine side, I don't see a man pulling this off easily, though won't exclude rare cases.

Simply is a statement, a masterpiece of perfumery imo. Here the hawthorn is substituted by tuberose, the nutmeg by cardamom, the violet leaf by violet and the main accord plays a highly sophisticated, über feminine violet/leather combo. Tuberose is demure, ambrette timid; the accent is on astounding balance.

Hats off to Jil Sander for achieving poetry in scent. I'm beguiled, entranced, spellbound at first spray. The world stand still while I step into another dimension, in the dream of dreams. I've waited over 20 years for this moment of utter fulfillment, since the creation of my beloved Angel.

Make some space dear buddy, this one deserves it. I move into the future with a new signature scent, it's celebration day for me!

NOTE: If you are not in awe of Fahrenheit, don't even test this. It's his younger, sassy, demanding sister. This babe takes no prisoners, she's a badass girl.

Just bought a 60ml and looking forward to layer it with a Molinard.... excited!

This fragrance has all notes which I know work magic on me: violet, leather, tuberose, patchouli and pear. I also adore Farheneit, to the point I wear it in the summer, receiving tons of compliments from both men and women.

I am expecting an uber-chic performance... fingers crossed!!

Review to follow in a few days! :))

As already said- this is Fahrenheit . it's kinda dry.... I thought it would be more "girly" but no. It has 90's unisex vibe. Lasts long. It's Ok-ish for me.

A little sister of Balmain Jolie Madame, and more affordable than my favorite modern leather Bottega Veneta and a lot more feminine as well. Very much recommended in case you like leather perfumes.
Not for teens. (Unless she is a tomboy into horse riding.)

justfloral

slightly synthetic wild strawberry + vanilla + patchouli in the drydown.
Powdery, clean, feminine. Sweet but not gourmand.
Color: millennial pink.

I totally agree with the Reviewers that say this smells like Christian Dior's Fahrenheit...and this is a very, very good thing. While Fahrenheit has been (sadly) hit hard by IFRA reformulations and is a former shell of it's magnificent self...Simply Jil Sander is, IMO, better than current Fahrenheit. This is so, so, so Unisex. It is woody, powdery, fresh, soft, clean, musky, leathery and just phenomenal! I can see this appealing to a very wide audience, yet does not smell generic or "safe". Lightly applied this is office friendly, and with a few more spritzes would be perfect for a special evening or event. Very reasonably priced. German Engineered, French made! Perfect combo!!!

Violet_Rose

Slightly powdery, musky, flowery, feminine perfume. I'm enjoying it. I like the touch of sweetness. I do not find it masculine. Nor do I see the likeness with Fahrenheit. This is definitely feminine. *Edit: No way is this like Jolie Madame, as per the 'similar fragrances'.

It seems more of a skin scent but I catch wafts of it around me.

It's a like rather than a love. I willl reach for it when I want to smell subtly perfumed.

Venusia

My man has Fahrenheit and it smells great on him. I wanted the feminine scent with the same notes. I loved the flowers phase of the perfume most. I've got my own "Fahrenheit" now and I like it. It doesn't last long, but it doesn't need to, because I can't stand the leather notes more than 2 hours on me. Dry-down is musky with a light touch of patchouli.

Jieky

It's a bit to common...try layering it with Maison Martin Margiela Flying!

Livgranger

I wanted this to be nice but it smells only of farenheit, no development and very masculine. Not for me this one. There are better perfumes out there.

glitterlust

A well done Edt version of the original which delivers everything you expect. Where the Edp is wonderfully butch, this is pretty but not without character.

The pear and cardamom replace the violet leaf for a nice soft green opening. It's definitely more flowery and the tuberose gives it an almost tropical edge. It maintains a light leather quality tempered with ambrette for a muskier base.

If Style bored you and Simply scared you, this might be worth a try.
