To me this has a similar vibe to Diptyque Philosykos - much less sweet than Philosykos, but it also has a green note in combination with the slightly creamy nutty note. A pleasant easy to wear scent, but the longevity and sillage of green almond red current are what you should expect of a JM cologne.

Fruity, fresh and green. Smooth undertone, and smells very expensive. This is a very Jo Malone scent. The almond is veryyy realistic and not as sweet as you would think. Almost zesty, but still very comfortable.

Got this one in a Christmas set and this one surprised me. The smell is surprisingly comfortable on the skin. I usually am not a fan of almond but I like this one.

Ferra_Verto

Fruity, clean, and creamy; smells like fancy spa skin cream. The almond note is surprisingly very realistic, raw and completely untouched. The redcurrant leans more leafy than pulp.
Lasts around 6hrs, sits very close to the skin.
Perfect indoor scent for the cooler weather.

This is a very nice green creamy scent , I like to use this scent after a shower in to bed , I got a compliment once about this one , at a hospital… but yeah

It’s almond but not the lactonic almond this is almond mixed with green notes .
Wich makes it very interesting it’s easy to use , calming , but also it’s like you constant get the mix of almonds cream with green notes . The mix is nice . Very interesting not overpowering just there sitting on your skin nicely .

This is such a beautiful fragrance. Clean, fresh, green, with a nutty/creaminess. This fragrance is so soothing. I love wearing this after a shower when I want to relax. This scent makes me feel very Zen. When I wear it out, there is a calming, grounded feeling I have. Beautiful.

This came as part of a Christmas set, otherwise it wouldn't have caught my attention. It's a very green and bitter scent. The opening especially, has some bitterness about it - smells like green redcurrant and redcurrant leaves. It then settles into an inoffensive creamy sandalwood. The green notes don't stick around on me, but what's left behind is so generic I don't care for it. An odd creation.

MulawinLacsa

If you like green almond, this is something you will like. Note that the emphasis is on the GREEN not on the almond. The nutty smell is faint but the green scent is quite strong. Not my type of scent. I tried layering with Wood Sage & Sea Salt and it improved a bit.

Chrysolaga

This was a blind buy for me. I generally dislike gourmands but love the almond note in a lotion that I have, and so I purchased this due to the almond note. It is a different almond note than my lotion. I suppose that is because it is a "green" almond note. I don't dislike this, but I wouldn't call it a "like" either. It is different, perhaps a bit gourmand or medicinal. It doesn't change for me and smells at the end like it does in the beginning. It's longevity on clothes is pretty good as I can smell it on my jacket the following day after applying it. I don't think I will be reaching for this very often.

Edited to Add: After about a half dozen tries, I decided I couldn't enjoy this and sold my bottle on eBay.

This was a wonderful surprise to me, as when i first tested it i thought it smelled too artificial - but i had a cold!

I realised it goes through various stages,so i retested! It is one of the most uplifting perfumes i've come across!

In the beginning it is realistically green, perhaps a very green, raw almond smell with the leaves thrown in as well!

Then comes the red currant, quite juicy and refreshing!

Finally, behind all the greenness and juice, settles the sandalwood, that has a raw woody vibe here, so there is something warm but still green and invigorating underneath it all!

It smells amazing! Definitely a morning beginning with this will be amazing too!!!

I blind bought this a few days ago and it arrived!

I tested this on the back of my hand and on my wrist last night and this morning. Again, I am not skilled with picking out distinctive notes, so bear with me as I move through and articulate what I smelled here.

When I first sprayed this, I got a blast of something very green, very sharp, earthy and perhaps a bit bitter. It actually hurt my nose a little. My suggestion would be waft in the beginning. Don’t do what I did and really breathe it in. You’ll be less than happy. However, I digress! Back to what I smelled… I would say this initial scent had to be some strong sharp, green, earthy note mixed with the “green almond.” I know this sounds really unappealing right now BUT don’t let that make you click away!

This particular part (the sharp, biting beginning) gave way rather quickly (minutes) to what really smelled like some sort of sandalwood note and almond— a more calm, less bitter almond. I would describe it as creamy, nutty, and smoother than the beginning but still a bit sharp. Somewhere around the middle here I also got hints of the red currant, vanilla (or something sweet), light woodsy notes and more of the almond. I’m was still getting hints of green, earthiness but subdued. What is interesting is that the red currant and the sweet vanilla-esque scent were detectable then gone. Then they reemerged again and disappeared again. It was an interesting peak-a-boo type of experience.

The dry down was definitely some sort of cedar and an earthy spicy note. There was also something ever so slightly warm and subtly sweet—a natural sweet like tonka. Perhaps it was a bit earthy, sweet. Maybe that’s the almond with tonka and cedar?

I definitely agree with some previous reviews that stated that the dry down had a masculine feel to it. It was definitely a masculine style-- very subtle sweet. The end I would describe as largely spiced and woodsy with a subtle masculine tobacco type of sweetness.

Overall, this definitely had a Christmas vibe! I don’t know if I’d wear this alone though just yet. Maybe on a really cold, snowy day…? It's green, earthy, nutty, woodsy, and subtly sweet with a masculine style dry down (not too masculine though IMO). I actually really liked it.

A note on packaging: It’s interesting. Definitely not a success IMO. I mean this only comes in 100ml and it’s $140 before tax. When I received mine from Bloomingdales, it already had a scratch/flaked off spot of the pink color, the white cap had a black mark, and it felt cheap in my hands. So thumbs down on that BUT thumbs up for scent!

Ended positively. Like how I did that? I know you did. Happy Holidays!

Went into Debenhams to spray the english oak and redcurrant and saw this. It smells really green and nutty in the bottle and on the tester but is way sweeter on me, which I personally like. The raw almond is really different and interesting, but does give way to more of a marzipan note. I really like this perfume and thought it smelt really familiar. It totally reminds me of Amouage Sunshine, which is a favourite but way too expensive for me to buy. It's definitely not exactly the same but gives the same feeling, it must be the almond. I'm definitely putting this on my Christmas list/buying it myself and I'm sad its limited edition, I can imagine really liking this as a winter perfume.

Another Christmas Limited Edition with very little stock - what a shock. As of 20th November it has all but disappeared from the shelves in Australia and indeed from the Jo Malone website. The perfume itself is intriguing. Upon first spray I get the green almond, very pronounced and very nice. After 5 minutes I'm like "oh this is Tom Ford Vert d'Encens with a touch less d'Encens." Then after about 30 minutes the sweeter, fruity redcurrant appears and you are left with a slightly sweet, slightly spicy fragrance that definitely does lend itself to a Christmas event. A very interesting 30 minute fragrance journey that ultimately arrives at something a little tame, but very nice nonetheless. The bottle is polarising. I think it is stunning. Like most Jo Malone fragrances the strength is on the weaker side and the sillage is moderate, at best.

EternityFresh

This is the first time I purchased a limited addition cologne from Jo Malone and I'm so impressed! First off it has great longevity and the sillage is descent. But what I really love is the Christmasy feel of it! Something about the green almond and red currant together is so right! Merry and bright is how it is described and I totally agree. It definitely gets you in the spirit of the holidays!⛄

I can't believe I like this soo much. I have 12 Jo Malones in my collection already..this is crazy. After sniffing exclusives such as House Of Sillage The Greatest Showman, AND NEW ZEGNA line...I bought this. I like Orange Bitters as well. But this badboy........YEAH!! RaJuR real deep kool on YouTube.

Updating my previous comment there.

The smell lasted on me for many hours, and lingered on my clothes and sheets I had layers down in.

After a few hours, the smell had a general "dusty rose" quality to it which became the main scent during dry down..... when I would smell closer to my skin, all the nice tones were still there... but as a whole the scent became a bit stifling... this weird dusty rose smell reminds me of ugly cologne old uncles would wear back in the day...... too bad.

Ok I was just at the mall and sprayed myself with this.... hating that it's limited edition because I think I'm in love..... however I've done this before with a Jo Malone perfume.... I bought Earl Grey and Cucumber after testing the scent on myself for a few hours and loving it.... only to grow to hate it and it now sits in my drawer unused :( so I'll try to grab a sample of this guy to really try it out before purchasing, although I now realize I need to act fast.....

As with other reviewers, at first spray, I was intrigued but sceptical.... it's very sharp and "green" at first, but I enjoyed the realistic smell of almond, literally smells like a nut. Quickly the scent got creamier and brighter... I'm still wearing it and right now I'm loving the almost spicy warmth, slightly masculine, surrounded in the creamy yet refreshing almond scent.... I don't usually like "almond" scents but there's something nutty and refreshing about this one, must be the green aspect. Honestly wishing these bottles weren't so pricey.... I would have gone back to purchase this already if the price was lower :( I think I'm in love... I think.

Ps. The scent wears close to the skin, but it seems vivid enough that if I had sprayed myself all over, not just twice on the arm (covered by my sweater), this scent would project nicely without being too much, or too little.

Smells like a sweeter version of Tom fords Vert D’encens, which I personally did not like! Maybe It’ll change over time??

CasuallyFragrant

Like with most Jo Malone's the name perfectly describes the prominent notes.

This starts off very fresh and tarte of bitter raw almonds. To be honest a little too green for me. Afterwards the juicy red currants take center stage. This scent lingers close to the skin for hours.

It's already sold out where I looked and I'm happy I got to sample it first, before blind buying online. If the scent was less green and more of the red currants I would have wanted a full bottle, but the first 30 minutes was just too sharpe for my taste.

Got my bottle from Nordstrom. I expected bottle will look ugly cheap pink... but did not expect to be this bad. Label is plain paper glued to the bottle and since nordstrom always puts tape around the cap they managed to tape the label too so when i pulled it off label got damaged. so so annoying for 150$ fragrance. It might be just my ocd expecting my bottles to look decent and not cheap and beat up. Ok rant over. Scent is nice - nothing mind-blowing. Opens up pretty sharp but calms down and becomes more skin scent soft and creamy. Longevity is about 2-4 hours close to skin. I love Jo malone and own so many of them... this is not a must-have.

Green Almond & Redcurrant, a bright and merry number. I am one of the few who got a preview of this wonderful limited edition launching this holiday season (or let's be honest before the holiday season even begins).

A fresh gourmand opening with a little sharp and juicy Redcurrant, bright Green Mandarin and fresh Lemon Petitgrain. At the heart is that green nutty floral note of Green Almond and Cassia Flower adding a little velvet touch that's soft and a little dense. At the base is Tonka bringing in that accents of almond, sweet vanilla and a slight tobacco enriched with woody warmth of Amberwod and an intense base of Cedarwood.

The feeling it evokes is that cocooning yet bright warmth that is really suitable for the winter season. The scent reminds me of a much brighter, less smoky, more tart younger brother of Myrrh and Tonka. Combination suggestions from the brand are Wood Sage and Sea Salt, Myrrh & Tonka (of course) and Orange Bitters (and yes! It's coming back as a limited edition too if you liked it but never got the bottle last year).

If you're dying to get your hands on this one, blind buy it and hurry and purchase it right away since it's gonna be sold out the moment you think about it. Kidding aside, this comes out normally mid October and then solds out by early November so not much of a christmas is it.

The only downside is the bottle design, but this is wonderful on a guy. This comes with a candle that's probably what I'm getting since I like the scent for the home.

I cannot wait to try this one - I love the new English Oak and Redcurrant cologne and I feel that this will compliment it well in my collection. I only hope that they have enough supply to meet demand at Christmas time. Last year (2016) was a let down with Orange Bitters Christmas release with hardly any stock!
Looking forward to this new release.
Update: thanks to betranddeaux for your review, I am even MORE excited to get my hands on this now.

tinaelisa

Thanks! Oh! Well that will take a long time till its out then :(
