Very beautiful, soft rose with a gorgeous parma violets and vanilla dry down. Can’t help but love this one.

Victoria.a

It's a very soft fragrance and I think it's more for summer.
i've never had another perfume from kenzo.
I recommend you to try it out.
my aunt has 245 fragrances, so she only gives me a few.

VirgowithLeo

Powdery sweet rose
I like it
Al Rehab rose but less musky
It is way too sweet
On skin I do get musk and dustiness
I like this a lot
But I don't know if I can handle how sweet and dusty it is

Agree w below comment by anaesthesiaangel, "Powdery, feminine, almost vintage smelling. Light and floral, but dusty and will most definitely age the wearer. Delicate and powdery"

Eenemeene

I don't want to smell like *just* baby powder. It's a no for me.

Candypopinlove

I love love love this fragrance! Yes it does give baby wipes, but I kind of like that about it! It's a powdery, delicate and welcoming scent. I think the main reason I love it so much is the nostalgia from smelling it throughout my childhood. Just proves how timeless it is lol! If you're worried about it ageing you, or that it has old lady vibes then I would suggest testing beofre buying. I personally get more baby powder/baby wipes than old lady.

boffin1979

Back when I was a paralegal, I smelt this on one of the very attractive older defence lawyers. I nearly got myself into trouble LOL.

Lbustos2

Oh what a lovely, feminine fragrance! It reminds me of the 90s and 2000s where people would go out of their way to purposely smell like baby powder. This perfume quite literally smells like baby powder. Unless you're into powdery perfumes, this fragrance may completely turn you off. It is strong. People will be able to smell it on you if you walk by or are in close proximity. It may be a nice smell for those that like the scent of baby powder or baby cologne, so beware that this smell will be noticed by those around you! After a while, it turns more into a floral, lipstick powdery kind of smell. The smell transforms from baby powder ---> powdery floral lipstick. I spray it when I know that nobody is going to be around my persona, so I can solely be the one to enjoy this cute, powdery fragrance. It smells comforting, clean, and powdery. Like you just took a hot shower and are wrapped up in a warm towel.

Love.dk

Love love love this scent💕 I own 4 clean scent; 3 of them including this one are a clean florals: Chanel chance eau tendre and Victoria secret first love. They have the musk note and smell like baby powder but with different formulas.

VS first love is the fresh clean floral scent that you would expect from Marc Jacob’s Daisy.

Chanel chance eau tendre is more sophisticated, but soft.

Flower by Kenzo is deeper and I think it’s because of the rose and the little bit of pink pepper. Now on the website, it say in the little paragraph the Vanilla, musk, Rose and pink pepper are the notes. Idk where the perfumers are getting all those other notes from.

QueOndaGuera

Absolutely smells like baby powder/dreft baby detergent. If you do not like that smell, avoid this! Personally it doesn’t bother me and I find some comfort in that powdery sweet and fresh smell, so this fragrance is cute and relaxing. Maybe having a baby does that to you lol I miss the smell of the dreft detergent from washing baby clothes. Lasts decently long.

Suzanne loves Perfume

Fabulous.
I'm going off memory for this one as its been at least 17 years since l had a bottle.
It's very Johnsons baby oil smelling, it has that kind of oily thick baby powder floral smell that is divine, its got the vanilla and powder and sweetness to just the right level. It's a light creamy, not heavy thick vanilla creamy, its feminine and very pretty and simplistic in its notes. Its not overloaded with notes l adore the subtle parma violet notes in it as l love the parma violet flavoured powdered sweets. This perfume is superb if you love the smell of Johnson's baby oil this will appeal to you. I recently bought my friend a bottle for her birthday and remember feeling ever so tempted to keep it and get her something else. My aunt always said when you will know when youve got someone a great gift because you really want to keep it for yourself. It's a lovely perfume it lasts a good amount of time on the skin and is of average designer perfume pricing. I give this perfume a 7.5 out of 10.

I got this as a present for Christmas last year and at first I wasn't a big fan of it because it didn't stick out as much compared to my other fragrances(also I noticed it smelled like those old colognes my grandma used to wear when I was younger). Only recently I have started using it more and I've grown to love it, especially since it reminds me of my childhood.
It's a very lightweight, timeless perfume and I think it can easily become a signature scent, if you enjoy powdery, floral notes. I can especially feel the musk and rose, sometimes the vanilla aswell, but I don't really pay attention to notes as I just enjoy the overall vibe it gives off.
I would recommend wearing this in the winter and spring, and mostly during the day. :D

Klimsangina

Adore this smell, powdery monster in some way, but so lovingly! Gives feeling of comfort and home.

MARWAN ALMOQBEL

i got a sample and i was stunned , i will never wear this not because its bad , but because it smells like an old cheap perfume and i like it

jalfrezi

I tried the Poppy bouquet flanker first and I thought it was super boring and OMG am I glad I gave this a chance! She's fresh, she's clean, she's a sweetheart! She's Infusion d'Iris' granddaughter, a lovely fragrance for fans of powdery notes that don't age you. I'm not a fan of fruity perfumes or white florals, I adore roses and musks on the other hand, so it's probably no surprise it's love at first sight. Still, liking the notes when you read them is no guarantee you will like the perfume. This one is perfect for me both on theory and in practice. It's linear and I get vanilla way more than musk for now, but I love it the way it is, even though I prefer musk to vanilla every day. I love the creative concept, the bottle, everything. It's long-lasting too, which is not a must for me, but it's definitely a plus. I am pretty sure I will be adding this to my modest collection. (✿◠‿◠)

Exactly the scent I was looking for and an amazing option for everyday wear for me. While I see many people say this scent is “old” I personally think on me it becomes quite youthful. It’s addictive and I’m having the urge to buy those mini travel perfume bottles to keep this around at all times. It’s a sweet floral scent, but because of the powdery aspect and the more shy, intimate projection, it’s not enough to overwhelm people during the summer, just must be used with caution.
I see the “baby wipe” aspect but I do not mind at all, I love the scent of baby products. Lovely!

Heliotrope72

My family are all fans of Morillas freshies, and this is his best work.

It's not a new perfume, but it doesn't feel dated. This is all that Mojave Ghost by Byredo tries and fails to be. It's floral, woody, powdery, nurturing, and not quite like baby wipes - though I get the violet+powder association.

People around me find it lovely, not annoying, acceptable, bright, open and i even got an "optimistic".
Personally, it evokes the smell of soap my mother used to use when I was younger.

It's a homogeneous blend of soap accord, florals, woods and powder, buf you never quite know what you're smelling. Calming. Does the job. Absolutely stunning.

circe08

Smell like a baby wipe. I do not want to smell as if I have just been changing diapers.

Vintage Sweet'n'Dirty Musk (but not too dirty) with Rose, Violet & Vanilla...

This is a powdery sweet musk, but not a white musk or a clean musk. There's a contrast where it's more powdery sweet than sun-bronzed skin, but it has some animalic salty skin facets, and smells to me like good grooming sweetened by the days events, or good grooming at the end of the night. Alongside all the notes there's a vintage sweet'n'dirty musk vibe, and although this isn't a dupe I catch reminders of scents like Ombre Rose L'Original Jean Charles Brosseau 1981 and Ange ou Démon Givenchy 2006, which both have that same contrast.

Opens with sweet, baby-powdery rose & hawthorn with violet swelling through. Hawthorn here has its strong honeyed floral tones with dirty animalic nuances which to my nose lean more rooty-green than dirty at first. As it transitions to the heart, the violet & rose tones expand the velvety plushness and opoponax lends a faintly seasoned amber glow, while Jasmine is there with it's salty skin & baby wipes facets. The musky vanilla base keeps the effect going for well beyond average performance, and incense sustains the seasoned facet of opoponax.

Performance is a well beyond average for year round wear. I just have a sample of this, but fans of powdery. sweet'n'dirty musk scents might like this. For what it is, it's well done. Enjoy!

A full on nostalgic experience.
My mom used to wear Flower by Kenzo and many of its flankers, and I recently got a small bottle of it.

To me this is a very delicate and elegant powdery floral with a hint of sweetness. It’s smells really clean !

To me the Florals aren’t overpowering the rest of the scent, but complimenting AND complimented by the other notes. You get a clean and smooth base, with this White Musk and sweet and subtle vanilla. And those aspects are highlighted by the intensity and depth of the Incense and Opoponax.

The fruits are more discreet, I don’t detect any of the Mandarin, and the Black Current slightly shows up on the opening.

It’s an easy perfume for spring and summer, really effortless yet elegant, sophisticated and delicate. Lasts for a long time, pretty good in terms of sillage and longevity.

Not what I usually gravitate towards but it is a great perfume.

Just for the fact of this scent being a huge part of my childhood in the early 2000’s, and smelling so iconic, I give this a 8/10 🌹

ladynoro

I'm not ashamed to admit my love for classic powdery florals with notes of iris or violet - but this is not your average powdery perfume. It doesn't smell like baby powder to me like a lot of other reviewers have mentioned, but I can see why it isn't a universal crowd-pleaser. The opening is very aquatic and fresh, and it dries down into what I can only compare to a vintage rose-scented blush compact or maybe a silk flower that has been scented with an old fashioned potpourri. I love to wear it alone with more elegant outfits and on a casual day, I spray it in my hair towards the nape of my neck and choose something spicier for my wrists to offset some of the heavy powder notes as it sits. It's not an everyday type of scent for me, but I really do think it's a gem of a fragrance.

jennmagpali

It smells way too much of baby powder than anything else. It reminds me of changing baby diapers. I don't really want to be reminded of diapers when I'm not actively changing them. This is a no for me.

belinay

whenever i sprayed this on me i feel like i’m in 2000s and a child again and even though it’s a female perfume i would love to smell that on a man

Serayyaren

Is there a question I would like to ask especially to my Far Eastern friends? katana shaped bottle and poppy flower. As you know, poppy is a flower and symbol used in memory of those who died in the Second World War. So, does having a picture of a poppy on the bottle of a perfume that does not have a poppy scent help it be perceived as a reference or symbol? Is this an elegant reference? It wouldn't surprise me if such a subtle reference was made by the Japanese, who suffered the most in World War II.

A fragrance transcending many moons and decades, a beauty preserved and nurtured by itself.
More words to come.

smccmurphy

On me this smells like baby powder and barbasol shaving cream. I feel pretty neutral about it. If you’re into powdery scents that aren’t very sweet this would probably be something you would enjoy.

dark-gardenia

Sometimes I feel that no words could describe how beautiful this fragrance is to me. Almost 10 years ago I received a small 30 ml bottle from my aunt, unfortunately back then it didn’t appeal to me, however I started wearing it as I realised that it was a good choice for the harsh winter.

And then the magic happened, the more I wore it, the more I liked it. It was clear and unusual exactly as advertised, a velvety freshness which came from black currant and mandarin orange accompanied then by thick powdery rose, hawthorn and violet notes. It is a strange and mystical fragrance, incense and opoponax giving it an almost oriental accord, not oriental as in Middle East, but oriental as in Far East.

The scent is very calm and almost reflective as Japanese people tend to be. In this fragrance the sensuality is not obvious or in your face as the Western world perceives it, instead is serene, mysterious and never asking for attention.

I read here that many people wear it during warmer months, but to me there is no better season to wear Flower than in winter as I tend to associate it with the purity of snow. In my opinion this fragrance is one of the classiest fragrances out there and a true masterpiece, they just don’t dare to make this kind of perfumes anymore.

jadepo21

This was a scrubber for me. Very heavy floral, baby powder smell that was just way too headchey and mature for my taste. Was racing to get it off. Hard pass.

Aero.tale

Can these 15 year old teenagers stop calling it LaMp PeRfUmE. It is FLOWER BY KENZO. A perfume that is older than all of you. Please do not ruin this beautiful scent and stick to your sol de janeiro

Lala Canel

The year was 2002 and I was young. Flower by Kenzo became my signature scent without me even noticing or knowing there was such thing called "signature scent". Up to this day, if you ask an ex-lover or my mom what was the perfume associate with me in my twenties back in Caracas, Venezuela, will be Flower by Kenzo. I don't remember well when was the last time I smell it but up to this day I close my eyes and when I remember Kenzo, I remember those pasionate and intense nights in the tropics. It has been twenty years since Kenzo and I loved using it. I empitied at least three bottles of it before moving on to other perfumes.

Antoshka2

I remember once liking this so much I bought it as a gift for my mother. Unfortunately it became very trendy and I remember school kids trying to cover their body odour with with this and now that’s what it reminds me of. I can no longer remember why I ever thought it was a pleasant smell. I don’t think my mum appreciated it. She’s still got the bottle over 20 years later and occasionally does wear it in my presence to my dismay. I really don’t like it, but I once did and it was once the “it” perfume for years in the early 2000s and everyone who wore perfume wore it so it can’t be terrible. It definitely stands out from other perfumes.

Iris741Blair'sGrimoire

I used to hate this perfume.

There’s a similarity with Red Rose Al-Rehab( specially the oil version ) , but it is not identical, there’s an accord that is similar when you are smelling a doll, with play-doh. Affordable option but not balanced.

On the other side, Flower by Kenzo , the powdery accords and Vanilla behave more subtle with a slightly watery accord from the florals ; all of them wrapped (beautifully)by the musk.

The less the better, take your time to apply it.
If you love it, put it on the warmth points of your body.
Powerful sillage and long lasting longevity.
Reasonable price for the quality and design.

I’m in love with the transition between the heart notes and the dry down of this perfume. It reminds me when my worries fade effortlessly with a relaxing warmth bath. My skin is already dry but hydrated by almond cream lotion. Finally I’m in my bedroom , I couldn’t find pijamas and I feel the relief ( head to toe) from white clean bamboo and beige chenille sheets.

bobblefrog

Really disliked this on me - not sure why, though. I knew it wouldn't be a love: powder is a hit or miss for me (I adore Maison Margiela Replica Lipstick On but baby powder scent is not generally what I want in a fragrance) and I'm more gourmand than floral...but I was racing to wash Flower by Kenzo off before it even dried down sufficiently! So my conscious nose was like okay, baby powder and flowery poo pourri, but my unconscious nose was like - noooo, run, poison fumes!!! I do have that reaction sometimes to fragrances but this one was unexpected based on the profile. Maybe the violet is what was coming through? I'm not sure I have a fragrance that features that. So - I can't say the scent was objectively problematic. It's a nice enough scent. And I suspect some wear this beautifully. I'll just have to do some more comparing to see what it might be what is throwing me off and why I reacted so strongly to it.

Ghadah02

This is acceptable and has a scent reminiscent of baby powder. It bears a 95% similarity to the ‘BluntPower- Baby Powder’ air freshener. I would prefer it if the scent leaned more towards a fresher baby powder aroma, but this one has a slightly deeper and somewhat old-fashioned scent.

carriesroom

like a drugstore lily-of-the-valley mixed with choward's violet mints

jkr2hty

The lamp perfume, i love this perfume so much im so sad it runs out pretty fast

rihabi

Lovely bottle, convenient to hold. Wanted this for quite some time, reminds me a lot of Love by Chloe, same powdery sensation, same aura and definitely for grown women. I need to be in a certain mood to wear those kind of smells, but i think i enjoy it for the moment.

carameg0727

I've been wearing this on and off for about 15 years. I'm not a fan of the "soapy" opening, but I love the beautiful, powdery dry-down. It's unlike any other perfume I've tried before, and this lasts forever!! It's in my top 10.

anidamasceno

1. The skin factor never played a trick on me like with this one. On my wrist, Flower is a. Incense b. More incense and c. Old and withered flowers, crushed to death. Where is this powdery sensation everyone complains so much about? 😭 Don't get me wrong, I love incense but I wanted powder...
2. THE BOTTLE! This bottle (and all the flankers) plus Guerlain's bee bottles are IMO the most beautiful work of art in the world of perfumery.
3. Strangely, is not BAD. It's weird. But I usually like weird so I will give her some time to grow on me or to get out of my life lol

EDIT: Hours later it didn't evolve to anything besides more incense. Even on clothes! No powdery flowers for me, I guess. Still, I don't dislike her. She's just, hmm, meh?
EDIT 2: Second day, don't know if it's the weather but now I can feel the powder and I'm officially starting to love Flower. Such a weird experience, never had a fragrance conquer my heart with time, I usually like or dislike them at the spot. Still confused how she went from incense to a floral powder from one day to another, but I guess that's what makes names like Morillas so great.

cherriblossomss

this the perfume i keep in my arsenal for "serious" occasions, important meetings, funerals, anything i want to be less "girly" and more "womanly". not really sweet enough for me to consider wearing regularly, but it's clean and sophisticated, and i like the powdery notes.

rachelv

I didn't think this suited me at the time it came out, but now 23 years later, it suits me now. It is a powdery floral but never too sweet, pleasant and comforting, refined and clean. It doesn't stay long on me. Disappears completely within 12 hours with no trace.

jojo99

I like this scent. It's clean, powdery, floral, definitely a bit vintage smelling. Reminds me of coty airspun powder with a hint a baby powder. I find that it does give me a headache if I spray too much so I stick to 2-3 sprays and it last a long time.

dojikko

first spray is like nostalgic, floral, and powdery. develops kind of green(?) kind of like sitting in grass. dries down into a soft vanilla scent which i dont really like that much. i prefer it in bottle 😭 just my preference though..

Perfect10Tara

I bought this years ago when it was first launched. It was bang on trend: a powdery floral with heavy duty sillage and longevity. Looks so delicate but boy is it powerful. I loved it for all these reasons but the reality is what originally drew me to it was the bottle. It looks like a beautiful poppy. Made me think of beautiful flowers in a field although in reality the scent was more urban as opposed to countryside. I loved it.

begum123

so elegant, so feminine. Love it.

Lucka28

Hate it! I received a sample of this perfume. Immediately upon spraying it, I hated it. It smells like Dove Original deodorant (which I also can't stand) mixed with a soap. Just awful. Overpriced, too.

AinoKaroliina

Strong scent with a strong projection. Smells very powdery, soapy and "old school" / mature. The notes blend well together.

Doesn't suit my personal taste.

voiket

unfortunately too green on me! smells amazing in bottle, powdery wood and violet

babypong

my favorite perfume of all time. I had a bottle in high school, the first perfume I ever purchased. Its so unique. Very strong, great silage, lasts around 6 hours for me. I get powder and wood notes out of this with a musky background. It's amazing.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

I like the soft and powdery bulgarian rose and the honeyed hawthorn in the opening, but I'm not too keen on the ammoniac smell from the black currant and the astringent and citrusy quality from the mandarin orange. It's a bit harsh and cheap smelling to me.

I feel pretty much the same way about the heart notes too, loving the powdery parma violet, soft and lush rose and sweet and fragrant jasmine, but the opoponax is again too much and makes this fragrance too heavy for me, what with its warm spicy and balsamic quality and all.

The base notes of musk and vanilla are lovely and lend themselves well to this fragrance, but the incense ruins things for me somewhat and makes Flower by Kenzo too smoky a fragrance for me. I like my fragrances to smell a bit lighter and more floral and this is not it.

I'd recommend this perfume for the spring and thw fall and for during the day, but not during other times of the year. I'd say that it leans feminine as a fragrance, but the smokiness and the spiciness skews it towards being more unisex in parts and so it could be worn by a certain type of man. Maybe a more androgynous and/or feminine type of man.

This perfume ended up lasting 9 and a half hours on me and its sillage was I'd say about moderate on my skin.

All in all, I'd give Flower by Kenzo a 6/10. It's slightly above average but still average as a fragrance to me.

SalinasL

This morning I dug out my sample and sprayed some on my wrist. Well, I tried to, but it wouldn’t spray out and dribbled down the tube onto my fingers and so I smeared it onto my wrist instead. That was mildly annoying. No sooner had I “sprayed” than the baby woke up, scuppering my plan to get up before 5am to have a few minutes to myself. That was also kind of annoying. Yet now I find myself with a warm baby nestled into me and this soft, cakey make-up powder (slightly rose, slightly violet, slightly vanilla/opoponax sweet) wafting around me with a touch of incense as well, and I can’t say that I’m annoyed at all.

Edit next day: I’m wearing Flower again because I like it, and suddenly I realize that this is Trussardi My Name but with more depth and oomph and lasting power. I’ve had My Name for years and often sniff at the bottle but never wear it anymore. Not sure what that means for Flower; I guess time will tell!

didilinlun

i only have a dupe (compared to the original in store and didn't sense much of a difference); to me this smells so much like banana candy in a really creamy way. it's so round and powdery, nothing tart or astringent about it whatsoever. i struggle to pick up any particular flower, it's just velvety like petals. the drydown leans more vanilla, still very powdery.
i've never smelled anything like this before! i more associate strong white and soapy florals with old lady perfumes, so i don't really think this smells dated.

jhindsb

It took everything in me not to blind buy Flower for the bottle alone, which is adorable and reminiscent of growing up in the early aughts, so I mustered up some self control and got a sample instead. While I don’t think this would be a safe blind buy for everyone, it definitely would have been for me as someone who appreciates powdery florals and musks.

First impression: A puffy cloud of violet baby powder. After a few minutes the green element of the violet puts the baby powder in a corner and reveals bright black currant and rose. The jasmine is quite green and not lusty or dirty. I will say, although it’s quite floral, I’m not getting an overpowering sweetness from those notes which I actually appreciate. It’s like I’m picking up more of the green flower stem than the bloom itself. On the dry down, a slightly sweet and silky vanilla incense comes forward as the powder fades into the background, an unexpected note for this scent profile but very very pleasant as it adds some nuance to an otherwise linear scent.

Longevity wise, it fades to a skin scent pretty quickly but i will have to wear for a few days to come to a conclusion about its performance.

I appreciate the youthfulness that this scent embodies. Many reviewers have said it’s mature but i disagree. I like the way that the notes surrounding such a prominent violet give way to a very delicate, airy and fresh powder rather than a dank soapy aldehydic powder associated with a more mature scent profile.

There is also a nice comforting and cozy quality to this scent. A perfect bedtime scent and neutral enough to wear to an office setting. Maybe there is a maternal association with the baby powder profile but it’s also just very soft and rounded out. It has a floaty cloud-like vibe. I think Flower could work in any season, but especially in spring and summer. It seems light, fresh, and green enough to stand up to heat. In fact, I’m curious as to how the notes will develop on warm skin.

Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised by how nuanced and dynamic Flower feels. A very pretty and fresh fragrance that I could see myself working into my collection for casual warm weather wear. Could be used for layering as well. If you like powder and purple florals, this could be signature worthy, I think it’s extremely wearable for any season and daytime occasion.

rene.saller

Very pleased with this blind buy--it's a tester of the Kenzo Flower EDP and sadly missing the adorable top that puts the iconic red blossom at the top of the green stem on the bottle--but it's 3.3 ounce, which will last me a long time, assuming this delicate little vase-bottle doesn't shatter. Yes, it smells like powder. Yes, it smells like roses and violets. Yes, it has a bit of an Alice Blue Gown, Gibson Girl parlor vibe to it--completely at odds with the modern, minimalist bottle--and I was expecting it to read more 21st century (or even late 20th century). But as it happens, this is the kind of fragrance I love (and not unlike another great recent bargain find, Jaipur Bracelet by Boucheron, although that is more of a dusky violet whereas this reads to me as more of a deep velvety pink, like the deepest pink in the inside of a conch shell, or a kitten's mouth. I also pick up some citrus sparkle from the blackcurrant and mandarin orange. The jasmine and musk are exquisite, but I can't really discern much incense. It's certainly not as incensey as, say, L'Heure Bleue. Anyway, this smells just like what I was hoping Miss Guerlain Rose nRoses would smell like, only with more longevity (by far). Obviously, if you don't like rose and violet accords and powder, you should probably avoid, but if you do love those Grande Dame cosmetic scents of yore, pick this up; you can usually find a bargain on the online discount sites.

I'm upgrading this longevity and expanding this to day and night. Because who doesn't want to smell like silky rosy sandalwood powder as she drifts off to sleep or rouses herself for another trying day? I do think I would need to scrub this scent off if I were feeling migrainous, but honestly I do that with most fragrances, simply because I would never want to create that association and ruin an otherwise great perfume.

SundayGirl07

Straight powder. Not baby powder but like a puff powder. Smells nice.

Eve_evolution

Beautiful and feminine, gentle and green. Smells like realistic poppy flowers. Could be great for the office or any occasion where neutral scent is being asked for. I like it so much.

meganlamode

Pure powder in the opening, with the florals peaking out on the drydown. This is a pretty fragrance for sure, and while definitely of its time, I think it still holds up today. I wish I liked Flower more than I do, though. When it comes to powdery fragrances, I lean more toward Putain des Palaces or Valentina Poudre. Flower smells more like a fresh, even sterile powder than the others do.

EDIT: Maybe it's because I'm now testing Flower in cold weather, but I've been enjoying it much more lately than I originally did. I'm even thinking of buying a bottle once my sample is gone!

amandapooks

flowery and very pretty. If you're hyper-sensitive about not wanting "old lady scents", don't buy. Personally i love it.

toycat

my mother received this as a gift from some relatives but she's a "fresh" fragrance kind of person, thus, it was handed down to me. i do like this scent, I don't see it as bad but it is sometimes very overpowering and makes my head ache. i don't normally go for *mainly* floral scents as i'm more of a gourmand person, but i like how this dries down and smells a bit like sugar and vanilla. Nice powdery notes, just don't wear during summer or you'll suffocate yourself and everyone around you lol. i dont layer this with other perfumes on my skin/ clothes but i like layering it with a hair refresher mist that's vanilla flavored to really bring out those vanilla notes. people say i smell like cake :)

an_baum

lilting curtains, haze at dusk, the Lisbon sisters & tiffany lamps....and POW-DUrrrR. i wouldn't purchase this, but will reserve the remainder of my sample for bedtime cozy:)

Elfin Will

I don't like it. Too flowery, powdery and vintage for my taste. I love floral fragrances, but this is too old-fashioned. It's the kind of perfume that chic ladies wear to church... or to gather for a cup of tea! Pretty, but I couldn't see myself wearing it...

pahsarinha

I grew to love the very strong powderyness that made this perfume bothersome to me at the beginning. It's very different from Amour but you can sense some kinship in the vanilla and incense notes, I'd say Flower has a more melancholy touch to it, which is now very very attractive to me in a perfume, this ghostly feel, and not just because it is vintage, something feels otherworldly.
This feels like a fellow suffering spirit gently bringing you comfort from the other realm. Very beautiful scent and definitely not for everyone like the best people aren't!!

Zevota

Most definitely a vintage powder! In the 90s my mom used to have a face cream that smelled like this! Powder, rose and violets. It’s a nostalgic smell, not for everyday. When I looked at the bottle, I expected something light, fresh floral, so I was surprised it was so powdery!

OloraGolosina

Beautiful modern powdery fragrance with a drop of vintage, it smells like incense and white flowers. It is great for daytime during Spring, Autumn and Winter; Summer perhaps, if it's not too hot, up to 25°C max , otherwise it could be cloying. Smelling this fragrance makes me imagine a bohemian lady, who lives in a shabby chic country feel white cottage with driftwood flooring, big windows and white lace curtains. I will definitely repurchase and I would even think about buying a backup. Longevity 4hrs, projection 1.5mt, it fills up a small room. I don't want to smell any other powdery fragrance, to me, this is the one.

lillybethholmes

I remember when this first came out. I hhhhHATED it. HAAAAAAATED it. Parma violets and a hint of my Nan. Old and fusty and ick. At the time I was allllll about the thick and gloopy ambers and spice that stuck around for days. My taste completely changed after pregnancy and in the past few years I've massively come to appreciate powder and subtlety.

Thought recently I ought to revisit this, after really enjoying 4160 Tuesdays New York 1955, and I flipping LOVE it. Can't get enough. Very lovely powdered sugar, vanilla and violet. But not cloying or overly saccharine and gourmand. Yes it probably is a bit more "mature", but it's not the old folk's home toilet cleaner I had in my head for years 😀.

Such a joy that it's so readily available. I can properly have an everyday fave again after a long period of gripping onto limited editions and discontinued stuff.

sniffsniffdeez

At first, it was a little too powdery for me, but as it's dried down, I love the vanilla and musk smell it leaves. There still is some flowery/powdery in there but it's mellowed out nicely.

lapine

perfect perfect perfect perfect perfect perfect perfect perfect perfect perfect perfect. Thank u for coming to my TED show!

Lotte_Liese

Storytime: I'd always wanted to try out this fragrance and when I did today, I was surprised because I was sure I'd worn this fragrance before. A trip down memory lane and it turns out it had been a present from my uncle during my early teens. It will forever be associated with South Africa.
The fragrance: A bouquet of violets and very pink roses infused with vanilla and a ton of musk. This is a powdery, floral fragrance. Very lovely.

Kenzo Flower was a blind date that turned into a long term commitment. It has so many things that I love in a fragrance; strong powdery notes, a warm, amber-vanilla dry down, good longevity, and a clean, comforting atmosphere. The bottle is also great, so cute and playful! I was lucky enough to find a sweet little miniature, and for an affordable price as well, it's such a good value for what you get. It feels very luxurious. It's important to add, Flower is not a white powder. It isn't sharp and it doesn't smell like diapers or baby wipes. This is the silky smooth powder on your mother's vanity that looks and smells like something you might bake with. It might smell like your grandma's lapel, or maybe the inside of her purse. I wear this the most when I'm at home having a quiet day in. Very good for cold weather; it's a cashmere sweater of a scent.

qinny

Not a safe blind buy, even if you do like powdery scents. This has a "vintage-powdery" composition to it. Not to the extremes of Chanel No. 5 kind of way but more like Cotty Airspun powder. It definitely smells older considering it's mostly florals, powder, and musk. 6/10

Jmalone84

What’s odd is that I love powdery fragrances and I love all of the notes listed, however this has to be my most despised fragrance of all time. There is something so distinctive and utterly cloying about it. I walked into the office today to be instantly smacked in the face with it- instantly recognisable and I was utterly dismayed as I will be smelling it all day 😢

NOT a blind buy

Alina Mir

Perfectly balanced fragrance . If you like powdery and floral scents you must give it at try!

[email protected]

It's weird... strong baby powder with hint of Jasmine and banana? It reminds me of European sunblock.

fleurtje0

I got this as a tester, it smells very floral and clean. But after smelling it for a while I can't help but think it vaguely resembles how soap tastes. It is a beautiful scent nonetheless, very fresh and soft.

luna k

Powder, rose, candied violet, white musk and a dash of incense. Not really getting vanilla but something is the base is just slightly earthy and grounding, maybe that's the vanilla. The grounding note is more like benzoin than vanilla extract or any edible vanilla.

Smells very clean and has a sterile quality like other reviewers mentioned. Has a chilly air feel too, metallic, almost ozonic. Brings to mind a historic geisha with a Japanese steel sword, trained to be soft and accommodating but you also don't want to mess with her. Aggressively feminine.

Perhaps five percent of Kenzo Flower smells like stainless steel or iron pans or surgical instruments or the iron tang of blood when you accidentally bite your tongue. Medical staff in bleached white coats?

Bizarre but beautiful.

wxbycc

Okay, okay I got it.

Yes, kenzo gives powder. She absolutely reminds me of lolilta lempika and slightly carita. What drew me in was the sterile vibe. I was in esthetician school at the time of discovering her at a local Sephora and I was like! Oh my, pretty, soft, understated, clean, but sweet. Clean and sweet in a medical office type of way. I loved the idea of smelling like freshly cleansed, skin scent. That’s what I get, though it isn’t a “skin” scent to most, it worked at the time for me. This is something I would wear in the medical profession, or as a beauty professional working counters and applying makeup.

Celestya

For powdery lovers. A little vintage vibe, very feminine and delicate for sure. More for cold days, I don't know why :)
An elegant and timeless lipstick scent! for all ages, but perfect for a chic mature woman.

ayuniversal

I've been wearing this perfume for years (since 2004 I think). It was a blind buy back then but it has become my favorite ever since. Kenzo Flower has been my "always have" kind of perfume. I may change or have alot of other perfumes but this one is my comfort perfume regardless time or occasion. Some might hate it for its powdery smell. If you're into baby powder smell, this is for you. This perfume is very powdery with a soft hint of flowery. It is a soft & subtle scent compared to the 'powdery' Chanel N5 which I cannot pull. I smelt like incense overtime and it gets really bad especially when I started sweating. But, luckily Kenzo Flower did the magic for me.

The reason Kenzo Flower is my No.1 perfume because it react harmoniously with my natural body scent. In fact, too well I must say. It lasted on my skin for almost 15 hours (or more) and got stronger on sweaty skin. And, it lingers for days on clothes I have worn (I could still smell it when I am about to throw them into washing machine). For this reason alone, I stick with Flower for the longest time. Hopefully they will not change the smell or the notes.

Not sure why Kenzo Flower isn't famous or being hype like the Chanel N5, but it is understandable if the scent unable to react wonderfully with your natural scent. I read comments people said it does not last long on their skin nor smell wonderful. Even if it says the notes are powdery, do understand some powdery smell (like N5, chloe etc) may not react nicely with your natural scent. My advise would be, try purchase small size and see the result on you.

annema

I had my eyes on this one for a while at a local outlet store. I love Kenzo in general so why not. The bottle is beautiful as well. It is much better than I thought. Not outdated at all. The longevity is quite good (several hours) and this is a beautiful, soft and delicate floral. On me it more floral than powdery so I don't get the association with baby powder that much. The powdery aspect just calms down the florals and it becomes more wearable and likeable in my opinion. It has a slight fruity smell but it is discrete. It's not a sweet perfume. I can smell some sort of balsamic scent closed to marzipan which adds character. A great one released more than 20 years ago that has not aged.

Manjusaka

amekiiss

VERY powdery. youve gotta like powder to love this. i guess i didnt like powder as much as i thought i did :(
this smells like babies. it smells like holding a newborn, freshly washed baby. clean, warm, and soft. thats the best way i can describe it!

dreamypeony

i love it! but its a mood, i mostly wear this to sleep or after shower to lounge at home as its very comforting scent. its a cloud of musky violet powder, really refined. i dont like to wear it all the time or to go out thou, but i always have one bottle in my collection. it goes really well with rainy days to stay inside and relax.

fruitsgum

I was looking for a subtle but luxurious fragrance when I came across kenzo. It's perfect for summer and gives off a soft air that's hard to resist. People around me say that this perfume was designed for my skin :)

Flared Maple

This is a soft, musky, powdery scent. Its very feminine without being too sweet, girly or sexy.
It has a cosmetic vibe, like a new lipstick.

It also kinda smells like freshly powdered baby-butt. So... be aware. If you have any poopy scent associations with that type of scent you may not be a fan of this one.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of floral fragrances, but this one is delicate, unpretentious and very likable. I would almost call it crowd pleasing, but it's a little too powdery for that.
It's a comfortable scent and is not too complicated.

clairescentience

The main accords breakdown is very very accurate. This is a musky, powdery iris scent and I can understand the dislike ratio because the flower on the bottle is not an iris and gives an entirely different interpretation. I would have NEVER guessed the smell that was going to come out of this. It isn't light and airy, and not fresh or green like the design suggests. It's very musky. And surprisingly --- melancholic. I really mean that: the combination of notes reminds me of being shut indoors during rainy weather. There's something that evokes melancholy in this scent. There's something comforting but not in an optimistic way. It's reclusive, head occupied by your thoughts. I never thought a scent would actually make me feel so sad. The most cloudy, gray skies are in this scent in contrast to its bold red flower. I told myself that the design reminds me of Beauty and the Beast and I didn't expect how relevant that would actually be because of how much loneliness this scent evokes (fitting of Belle's captivity). What a jarring experience this scent is.

Natalia.ca

I used to love this one very much, spraying it liberally many times a day. I couldn’t get enough of it.
It was my signature scent.
But for me perfumes are very related to memories and as it turns out I wanted to turn a page. Never wore it again.
But it’s a beautiful scent. I love powdery scents, and this one is a lovely flowery powder. Not baby scent at all.
Some people tend to hold very tightly to their prejudices and as it happens with homophobia, there’s also ageism.
Also some people for a reason that I cannot fathom tend to be ageist about powdery scents.
Let them lose their chances to a fuller life.
It’s a beautiful scent for any age you happen to be.

silverfish

Is black, ripe poppy seed scent something of a novelty here? Is it similar to artichoke's scent? Pls let me know.

silverfish

I wonder why there is is a poppy flower on the bottle, while there is no poppy fragrance in this perfume at all; in fact, poppies are said to be odourless, and they are, or at the least, they just send out some grass-like green fragrance, which cannot be detected in Flower by Kenzo. All this is not a problem, for it is a great and powerful, adorable, long-lasting and cozily flowery fragrance.
The problem might be with ME, as I am looking for the scent of poppy SEEDS; the black, ripe, harmless, tiny ones, out of which the extremely healthy poppy seed oil is extracted.
In my culture (Eastern-European-Jewish), poppy seed is a totally regular part of our cuisine. We traditionally make use of poppy seed for our Christmas/Hanukah and Easter/ Pesach sweet dishes.
So Kenzo Flower is at least right in the sweet tone...

Rose1412

I love this so much, perfect winter fragrance, when you want to feel cozy. Flower by Kenzo is a cottony, powdery vanilla, and when the fragrance settles a bit, vanilla becomes smoky thanks to the incense. I find this very sophisticated but I don't think it suits everyone's taste. When I first sprayed it on, I thought it was extremely sweet and cloying, later when I didn't have it on, I started missing it. I realized how much depth this perfume has. So lovely.

HYLAS

Flower by Kenzo opens with a powdery earthiness that calls to mind childhood toys, icing sugar, and a closet full of vintage cosmetics. While this may not appeal to some, I actually quite enjoy it. Overall, it's a bit of a blast from the past . . . albeit, not quite the nostalgia bomb I was hoping for.

On the whole, this is a pleasant fragrance, though it definitely comes across as oversweet if inhaled too closely (I have spoken before of how I detest soapy scents). In the opening I can detect the rose and mandarin, followed by the violets. Once fully dry, its vanilla begins to push through, helping give the sugary violet more dimension by taking the edge off that powderiness and turning the composition slightly more gourmand than simply floral.

In my opinion, Flower could suit young and old alike. It could be comforting and motherly, or youthful and flirtatious. It's feminine, versatile and fairly hard to dislike.

Happyme2009

Pure baby powder on steroids, with a hint of violets. I don't know why I bought this, and the 100 ml bottle is about 1 foot long, with the lid on. Wow. I must have had a moment of insanity. I can't say I love it, although the dry down , on skin, is very beautiful. But the baby powder scent is strong, I don't understand how this can be called "flower". It doesn't smell like any flowers I know, but it does have slight hints of violets. It just seems dated, mature, high quality, but surely an acquired taste. Don't blind buy it like I did.....

renzhina.eugenia

I am totally in love and finally found my signature scent that is ideal for me. I tried different powdery scents and was disappointed but this one is ideal
It is powdery, although not very strong in my opinion (I do not feel it much, but people do)
If you like powder, you will enjoy it. I don't feel any fruits or extra sweetness here.
I also take Al -rehab red rose with me (it is a very cheap and good dupe for Kenzo Flower) in a roller, because it is small and it is really comfy to reapply. Red rose feels a bit stronger :)
Very soft, dry powdery. Very feminine, love it

Edit: reminds me of Insolence Guerlain. not dupes, but in the same vein

mnkfragrantica

I agree with what a lot of others have said, this is like a rosy baby powder. Initially I was not liking it because it was so strong, but as the day went on, I felt like I still smelled fresh out of a shower. I don't love this, but I don't hate it. I have to think of specific reasons to wear this, because I don't grab this for daily use. Probably outdoor events when I want to still smell fresh after activities or sports.

dunder988

I tried this today, and the initial spray smells of alcohol and strong flowers. I did not think much of it and let it rest in my bag. I then took it out to smell it again and it smelled marvelous. It smells like a very nice baby product, maybe johnson & johnson. I personally LOVE baby powder scents, but for someone like my mom ( who hates baby powdery scents), this might not be for you. The only sad part about this perfume is how expensive it is :/

tarajane91

Very much a baby powder scent. If you love powdery florals then this is for you. Unfortunately not one for me, but I'm happy I sampled such a nostalgic scent.

Miloshy

I'm probably on my 4th bottle...to me it is so delicate, humble and pleasant. Definitely perfect in the spring/autumn during daytime. Totally city vibes. Perfect with minimal makeup, a trenchcoat and umbrella. I think it's mostly suited for women 30+.
It has that something that other perfumes in the same category don't have. Also, my mum used it when I was a teen so for me it's such a comforting scent.

Eyisa

This perfume is iconic. It’s delicate and powdery scent immediately takes me back to my teen years when my mum started to wear it (after I gifted it to her). 22 years on and she still keeps going back to it. I even considered buying it for myself. I don’t understand the lower rating at all.

silverfish

Am I right to say that Flower is a head-over-heels trick inasmuch as it is advertised by/with/by virtue of a nice red poppy flower, whereas there is not a single trace of poppy in it, according to the notes description at least? If so, then the hawthorne note must take it all, I assume. Any way it may be, there is also SOME fresh, flowery note next to the embalming,cotton-field-ish, comforting cloud that this perfume diffuses around you. In fact, I remember that poppy -flower buds actually DID have scents: herbal, fresh, kind of pre-floral scents. (As kids, we used to play outside, in the open fields, and in early summer, we used to unfold hundreds of poppy buds. We would bet on the flowers' color inside the bud. White would mean 'spirit', (i.e. transparent spirit, as in "vodka" or "pálinka"); pink would mean 'beer', and red unfolding petals would mean 'wine'.) Poppy has also its form in poppy-seed oil (very beneficial), and poppy seeds are also widely used in many diets. To me, poppy has always borne a very special and distinctive smell, that is all, but with some other people it might just have worked/ might just be working differently.

Ankhahaha

Absolutely perfect. Had this when it was released, loved it, then didn't have it until now, 30 years later because it was my mum's perfume. A violet that is better outside springtime - better in Summer or Winter. A perfume that is best sprayed lightly. Don't listen to anyone who doesn't like it, they have no taste :)

srimati

It's a favorite even though I haven't worn it in awhile, but if you're into feminine, powdery, violet fragrances, this is the one for you. I don't get incense and certainly nothing smoky, just a fresh light floral with a powder vibe that packs a punch. I wear this day and night no matter what the season, but summertime is great.

MsAd89

My father gifted me this perfume when I was still in high school, and I imagine he liked it when he smelled it or he was misguided by a salesperson, but I don't think it's a perfume for a teenager, or at least it wasn’t for me at all. Based on the notes, I would imagine that it is a perfume I will enjoy, there is nothing in it that I dislike, but I have never managed to love it despite the fact that I finished that bottle. It is an extremely overwhelming fragrance at least for me. I think of it as a violet and musk bombshell, where the powdery feeling is magnified and very heavy. I can understand that whoever loves its scent or that feeling considers it an excellent perfume, but for me in terms of aroma it is not, although in terms of performance it was great because it lasted many hours and projected a lot. I'll never have it again if it's up to me, and if I can help it, I won't smell it either.

sanelisa

Wow. Just wow

ingrid.superstar

The more I sample around, the more I keep coming back to the same old faithfuls: rose, violet, makeup powder, musk. Flower is the headiest, muskiest powderbomb I've found yet -- it truly smells like you've slathered yourself in luxe baby powder *and* baby oil. (Funny to me, though, that though these so-called "baby" products are scented with a complex mix of rose, jasmine, and vanilla which have been loved for all of time...but now they must carry the stigma of smelling like clean diapers. Alas.) Great staying power. Avoid in the heat!

I can't get away from my sentimental attachment to Flower; it smells like going over to a childhood friend's house in the early 2000s to play Barbies and getting a warm hug from my friend's mom.

Miss Dashwood

I expected to like this based on reviews and notes listed but on my skin it had a very harsh and unpleasant note. I’m not experienced enough to know what note I didn’t like but it was very bitter, maybe a chemical even. I like powdery fragrances but this to me wasn’t sweet, floral powder or even the baby powder that others have mentioned. Annoying, because without the note that I couldn’t ignore I may well have enjoyed it.

FataMorgain

I love powdery scents and I love when fragances aren't that sweet or citrus. This is perfect for a summer day or for going to the office or a casual party. It's so nice and distinguishable that you will surely get the attention of people who greet you. It lasts A LOT. I even smelled it when I shower the day after I wore it. Perfect for a vacation on warmer climates.

amberblackred

Oh how I love the bottle! Not a fan of floral perfumes but this one is just so lovely. It's very unique. A strong scent that lasts long and makes you feel very confident. Sophisticated scent, very powdery and feels like spring. Imagine passing by a single, in her late 30s woman coming back from work in a metro who looks confident in her skin and doesn't experiment much. It's that kind of scent. I imagine someone not experimental enough who would stick to scents she loves. I've got little bit of this one left and I'm only gonna use it when I really feel like wearing it. Saving it for the right time.

Youlerie

My powdery compliment guarantee. "Flower by Kenzo (Eau de Parfum) | Kenzo" is possibly one of the most underrated fragrances. I smelled the Eau de Parfum for the first time at the airport and immediately fell in love. I absolutely had to have it!

In my opinion, the scent begins slightly "in your face" with a very fresh sharpness, which most likely comes from the ginger. Paired with the floral note of violets, awesome!

The sillage is heavy and you can smell, uh, see the longevity of at least 8 hours. When I wear this scent, I ALWAYS get compliments like "You smell so good and fresh!", "Man, do you smell clean!" and "Please stay with me, you smell freshly showered and creamed!". I don't find the scent incredibly creamy at all, but of course I don't contradict the compliment givers. So be it!

After a while, the scent becomes more and more powdery and soft, but without losing the impression of cleanliness. Oh, how I love this powderiness! This rose and white musk combo is truly mouth-watering; I think that's what makes the nice powderiness of the "Narciso (Eau de Parfum Poudrée) | Narciso Rodriguez".

Andy224

Nice and powdery scent. Versatile and long lasting. Hard not to love.

Peony19

Has Flower been reformulated?

I live in Australia and I recently bought a 100ml bottle in Chemist Warehouse, only to find that my decade long signature perfume does not smell the way it used to.

Thinking perhaps I had just bought a cheap knock off watered down version, I have gone and tested in the Myer department store, but still she doesn’t smell the same.

Flower used to smell so powdery with just a hint of an Ambery, balmy, incense.
Now it smells flat with no depth, only sharp florals, and like there’s more citrus, no powderyness whatsoever.
I smell even a bleach smell.

And this fragrance also struggles to last an hour on the skin, whereas before a couple sprays would last me all day.

I don’t know if it’s me, or perhaps something Australia related, or perhaps costs have been cut, but this perfume does not smell the same as it used to.

Vane Vane

I love this fragrance with all my heart. It is a flowery, clean, powdery scent, makes me feel like i’m in heaven.

Des1610

at first i didn't liked it 'cause i'm more used to very sweet fragrances, but after some weeks wearing it,now i love it! It's a long lasting perfume and perfect for me.

Ishipi

On first sniff, this was a massive powder bomb. Like straight baby powder, and I hated it. Some of the previous reviews say it's grandma perfume, and i totally got that.

However, on the dry down, there's a sweet creaminess under the powder. It kinda reminds me of Sweet Tarts candy. It's actually pretty nice, which is quite the juxtaposition to my initial reaction which was to try to wash it off. It's fresh and clean, so I like to use it when I get out of the shower.

I dont know if I'll buy a full size bottle, but will definitely finish my sample. I say give it a chance, and if you hate it... give it one more chance before writing it off lol.

Kimberly917

I smelled this for the first time at the department store today and bought a full bottle. I have many violet and rose perfumes. Kenzo Flower has a unique powdery freshness. I love it. I do smell the violet and rose but they are soft and snuggly inside the powder and do not overwhelm. The musk is clean and adds a transparency to the overall effect. It does not smell at all synthetic which is refreshing. Another reviewer compared it to Chanel Les Eaux Paris - Venise which is also beautiful. I have both. They are somewhat similar but Venise is not nearly as powdery and it does not feature violet or rose. Kenzo Flower could be worn by a young girl as well as an older woman any time of year. Beautiful and clean!

Rozalina

I remember my mom used to wear this in the early 2000s when I was little and it must have smelled beautiful on her because everything smelled beautiful on her. Trying this on my skin today though…cold, screechy, very metallic musky baby powder. Solid dislike.

Keonaaa

Yuck! I recently have been on a powder kick. People have said this is the best powder perfume. I was intrigued and bought a bottle. A big bottle might I add. This perfume smells like baby oil. I could’ve went to Walmart and just bought baby oil! It’s a flat perfume. There’s no depth whatsoever. It is boring. I can’t stand this and I rarely ever say I can’t stand a perfume.

Tran Tran

I always love musky and powdery scents so this is a big yes for me. This scent is like a lady in her mid 20s wearing a flare polka dot dress, high curly pony tail with a sexy red lipstick. I dont know if this makes any sense to you lol but that’s how I feel like.
Wearable in all occasions and weathers, not too loud for office, slightly sexy enough for a night out.
It lasts around 3-4 hours on me with moderate silage, then the next 2-3 hours it becomes a skin scent.

LEM922

Straight up baby powder. This is such a nostalgic, 90s scent to me. I would never wear this, I just got a sampler because I was curious about how it smelled. However, I would not be mad if I smelled this on somebody else. It's very pleasant. I enjoy violet perfumes, and this one is extra powdery. There's also a little something at the bottom, that I'm assuming is the incense. It's a little sweet, a little spicy, has a little depth. Actually, the more I sit here and smell my hand, the more I like this. Again, this isn't something that I would just wear, but it does smell good. Very innocent, clean smelling scent. This would be a great first perfume for somebody much younger.

Salkavalka

I never, in all these years, gave this a try because of the bottle, which reminds me of a cheap gerbera in an Ikea vase. However I recently tested it and it was such a surprise. Really love at first sniff. It reminds me of something long lost. Such a soft and comforting scent, like an antidote to everything harsh and dirty. The combination of violet, rose and soft, unsweet, musky vanilla is really irresistible, and there is a little kick of something spicy too. It's a gem. ❤️

Freyaskywalker

This one is a weird one for me. on one hand I really love the powdery notes but on the other hand it makes me a little bit sick to my stomach. I think it’s got too much Violet in it, and what I really love is Iris and orris, not so much violet. I will try to use it a couple more times but if it still makes me sick I will have to pass this one on.

Frenchghost

This is very powdery, fresh floral,so a very clean shower fresh floral powder,i got many compliments&it lasted a very long time on my skin chemistry, tested 1 vial 2 separate days, just something way to cold in this, like a cold floral powder fresh fresh vibe, for my taste a lil to much, its okay tho,i think im looking for a powdery sweet scent like insolence guerlain edt,is next on my list which i haven't tried, alls i know is everyone loved kenzo flower on me,go figure haha lasted 10 hrs on me projects loud first 5-6hrs&then more of a gentle noticable skin scent rest of hrs, so not bad, nice to try, fresh powdery floral. Im on the fence about getting a bottle in the future because i actually love that bottle. Also days i just want a non sweet floral fresh powdery scent simple days, who knows maybe fb worthy. Very lovely feminine simple.

Delight_Yue

I bought this for my mother years ago it has a very crisp floral scent

mothtoaflame___

(Collection)
I just need this again. My nose plays it’s games constantly, but this is the ultimate timeless floral powderbomb. Sometimes it’s plain talc like, on other days the vanilla accord envelops more and hugs you like a fluffy, warm cloud. It leans subtle but

denparin

smells exactly like makeup pencils and also my mum in the 2000s, even though she swears she never wore it. i like it for the nostalgia factor but probs wouldnt buy a full bottle

iammayih

Spray a bit, you'll barely smell it. Spray the appropriate amount, then you'll smell something one of a kind. It smells like a beautiful rich lady in her late 20-30s wearing a nice summer dress with her hair on a bun on a date with a hot provincial guy that she just met while on a vacation in an old Italian village. The scent smells expensive. However, it's mellow and humble kind of luxury. Unassuming.

The violet and incense stands out in this fragrance. Although it's definitely not an old lady smell. If one understands class, one would appreciate this. I enjoy the experience given by this fragrance but it's not a love for me, just a like. I guess it does not suit my personality that much.

Diablomoni

I’m literally obsessed with this. The musk is so cloud like and elegant. The incense makes it so luxurious.

Gyps

It’s a bit powdery for me but I’ll use it for going to work. Old fashioned smell. Glad I only got a small bottle.

Edit: Came back to it today and it honestly smells like the inside of an old makeup bag. I don’t think I will wear it much as something in it makes me recoil, and I’m partial to some powder in perfumes.

Edit: Gave it away after a number of tries. Something in it makes me recoil. Steering clear of this line.

Edit: Found out it’s the violet. I can’t tolerate it. Yuk.

Edit: my daughter can’t wear it either, it triggers migraines for her.

galy06152002

I like it, the mainly notes are floral and powder. Kind of reminds me of a baby perfume.

minizelda

Smells exactly like Paris Venise by Chanel but a little juicier

CeeTheAurtist

The old lady comments regarding this fragrance make me laugh. I am in my early 30’s and have been enjoying “old lady” scents since I was a teen. This frag IS a powder bomb and I really like to wear it at night and sometimes to the gym. It has great longevity. It IS soapy and fresh smelling. If you don’t like me order then hey… that’s cool. Don’t hate though.

Sophiexc

Smells exactly like baby powder to my nose, not for me!

Charlie Junn

This is the perfume that made me stop wearing perfume for years. I just really hate powdery scents. My mom bought this twice or thrice, and it made my head hurt like crazy, it would stink the whole room, straight up baby powder. I hated it even more because she also made me wear it sometimes because I had no perfume of my own, and I would have that smell that made my head hurt for hours. I mean, I can't blame anyone if they like it, but it made me discover how much I don't like powdery smells, and even remembering it makes my head hurt.

Vanillastorm40

This is a soapy rose bomb. Like tea rose. I really wanted to try this because of the parma violets and incense notes but unfortunately, all I could smell was a soapy rose and I'm not a fan of rose. Or soapy Fragrances. If you're interested because of the violets, you may not smell them here. This is a pass for me but I'm happy that I've finally sampled it because it's been on my list for a long time.

violeteme

So nostalgic, so beautiful, pure and calm, but very memorable and unique. I could just smell it for hours, this scent is almost like meditation. Yes, I think it's one of those - either you love it or hate it. Very polarizing. It's a violet and rose composition mostly with other notes playing in the background, but rather than only supporting violet and rose, they make the character of them. It smells slightly sweetened, some could find it cloying, although it is not sugary at all. It doesn't smell like the actual lipsticks, cosmetics or baby powder and wipes (usual effect for the violet), but it reminds of all these things together. +

River.c

Powdery, sweet, and very floral. One of my favorite fragrances. I think the floral notes dance nicely with the sweetness, but more flower and less candy. It's very girly, with a hint of sophistication.

soso.sofia

I've had my bottle of flower by Kenzo for a few years now and I still can't decide if I love it or dislike it. Starting with the bottle itself, sometimes I admire it thinking how artistic, how original, what a masterpiece. Other days I think it's impractical being so long, tall and unsturdy, while I think it's ugly. Going onto the scent, somedays I think it's a gloriously beautiful floral powdery perfume, while other days I think it smells like violet scented talcum powder. Or just baby powder... With all that said, I do need to add that my toddler daughters love it when I wear it. They get a spray each too because it smells like baby powder ;)

Acidula

I can't believe so many years passed since its launch! I used it in my early 20s and I still like it, even though I wouldn't use it now, because I've changed so much.
A classic.

ScarlRed

I agree with you, Deborahdabrat. Flower by Kenzo is classic high quality fragrance. Feminine, powdery, simply georgeous. I love it and to be honest, I can hardly find lovely quality perfume produced during these days. I find myself to look for fragrances that were created in past, because they were so sophisticated and with soul for me.

Wonderbar

I love your comment Deborahdabrat! I totally concur. I don't want to smell like things I eat either.

Deborahdabrat

Like mirrorghost stated, I too am getting very tired of the old lady references. You young ones would not know a great frag, if it slapped you in the face! Some of these so called "old lady frags" are made in the frenchstyle, real perfumes. Not all fruit and candy as you prefer today, and that is fine if that is where you are in your life, but stop referring to the real perfumes as old lady. I believe in time you too will appreciate a real perfume of the finest quality! Besides who really wants to smell like a marshmallow or caramels, or a bowl of fruit.

Enrium

Kenzo's perfumes tend to be a cut above other offerings from designer houses. From Ça Sent Beau to Jungle, I have been impressed with the creativity of this house. Flower is no different. Its distinctive bottle - tall, thin, slightly tilted in the manner of a flower leaning against a vase - is both pretty and original, suiting the name and concept of this perfume beautifully. The perfume itself is quite lovely - floral, obviously, but with fruity and woody nuances that serve to enhance the florals. Deceptively light, the drydown is powdery and the performance better than average. It is very feminine, given its floral sweetness, but is well-blended and quite unusual.

Flower has quite a fruity opening, sweet yet aquatic. The orange is sweet yet fresh, and I get a hint of melon. A light, dewy rose note emerges shortly afterwards, joined by violet. Instead of the beautiful delicacy of the flower itself, this is candied Parma violets. It is almost overwhelmingly sweet here, not my favourite thing. When the sweetness subsides, the baby powder accord that many reviewers below have mentioned comes to the fore. It reminds me of a more intense, sweeter version of Prada Infusion d'Iris. Some cassis is evident here.

Clean jasmine rounds out this scent as it develops, sweetened by the vanilla in the base and joined by powdery rose and iris. The violet remains prominent. There is a smokiness to the drydown, thanks to the incense, which complements the vanilla to perfection. It becomes musky as it dries down, remaining powdery and floral until final fade. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting.

An unusual riff on a powdery floral that features violet prominently, Flower is a pretty decent, creative floral scent, ideal for transeasonal daytime wear. An updated classic for a modern audience. 4/5.

perfumaphile

I love this perfume! It is a powdery floral that is oh so feminine. It's a very refreshing scent that actually lasts. I find this smell to be the epitome of sophistication and loveliness. It never gives me a headache and leaves such a nice scent trail. When I first smelled it years ago, I wasn't sure about it, but now I think it might actually be my all time favorite perfume. It may not be for the gourmand lovers as this scent is not like sugar but fresh flowers. It is the scent of a young woman, maybe too elevated for a teenager. It's hard to break it down by notes because it's so well blended Kenzo really did a fabulous job with this one!

Croatian.Girl

I like it during winter. It smells like baby powder and talc. Very elegant, nice!

lapine

pure nostalgia to my nostrils, so sweet and comforting!

perfumelouvre

super thick, luv that!

PaperInABook

i love this floral powdery scent. this might be too strong for daytime, but perfect for night and bedtime use. this scent gives out a clean, soft and comforting vibe. the only thing i hate abt is the tall bottle. its difficult to keep in drawers and easily topper when on shelves. hope kenzo will revise the bottle design, juz like what they did for L'Eau par Kenzo line. will definitely repurchase this.

Laurus

I love love love this. I realize I rarely write positive reviews because Im so picky. It is so cozy safe and comforting, like sleeping on cotton ball cloud without any sharp edges or sourness. I do not understand how anyone can not like this. There is no time from the beginning till end that I dislike with this fragrance. It is simply perfection. Only the bottle I do not like.

AquaJima

I dislike this. It’s straight up baby powder and flowers. Like 90% baby powder and 10% flowers if you want a ratio. It’s something that I think a nursery would smells of.

Bottle is a beauty, the contents… I shall pass.

Calinare

I put Nivea Intensive Body Milk Lotion on one arm, and Kenzo Flower on another. It smells 99.9% the same. I asked four other people who know nothing about perfume, and they literally think that it's the same. Two of them think it's J & Johnson's. Even the sillage.

One hour later: Dry down smells like Sweet Iris Musk. Totally different from Nivea, but it still has this lotion-like undertone to it. This is Prada Infusion D'Iris in lotion form, but weaker.

Milena94

An all time favourite. Unique but versatile. It has a distinctive personality, yet goes with many occasions and skins. Powdery, fresh and sweet.

greenviolets

The first burst is a little overwhelming on the powder if you haven't smelled it in a while (or ever) but let it settle so it can shine. The violets, rose, and musk are a beautiful comfort, the type of perfume that can help you have good dreams if you're stressed. I found the last drops of an old bottle while moving. I remember when I was obsessed with this fragrance because of the violets and the longevity. After a long commute, it was still there, bright and fresh as when I first sprayed it. Now that I have more perfumes I know the context. It's the younger cousin of Velvet Rouge by Jason Wu and Aromatics in White from Clinique

Jonafree

This perfume makes me imagine a multi-floral bouquet in a country-style powder room. New floral notes keep surfacing and disappearing, as if the bouquet were being rearranged to show off shyer flowers that had been hidden before.

It's not overly sweet, I would describe it more as heady.

I will probably give this one away, it's too intensely flowery for my taste. I was hoping the base notes would shine through more.

If you like this fragrance and are based in the continental US, PM me and I will try to send the rest of my sample to you. First come, first serve.

Hostonium

1 spray gives you a classic, powdery floral. Definitely not a statement piece and doesn’t leave a lasting memory, but alright. 2 sprays gives you a nauseating combination of baby powder and an old lady’s church perfume that lingers. Definitely do not go overboard on this fragrance, but if you were a lady who worked an office job, I could see this as being a pretty scent for you.

blackcoffees

This is a nice inoffensive scent.
I mostly get a lot of powdery flowers, with a hint of vanilla and incense. I wouldnt call this an amazing scent but i think its good enough if you want something simple and clean. Its also well blended so it all goes together very seamlessly.
It sits very close to the skin, and for me it lasted about four hours. I wouldnt say i like the bottle, it doesnt reflect the personality of this perfume well at all in my opinion.
Overall this is simple and pleasant and even though i wouldnt go out of my way to buy a full bottle, i like it.

Gioia's secret

I love all other Morillas’s creations, but this one is a miss to me. I am looking at the notes and don’t get it why it smells so outdated. I want to call it an old lady perfume and it’s probably the first time when I call any perfume as an old lady perfume.

newgodz_

powdery and boring, smells like baby cologne

LSAUG

I have been curious about this iconic fragrance for a while now and decided to pull the trigger. Great value by the way, only cost $24 for a 1.7 ounce. I agree w/ the review below, Kenzo flower smells like an expensive lotion. I was expecting more of a powder bomb, but I am still very happy w/ this fragrance. Flower is a beautiful parma violet lotion perfume w/ a very creamy hawthorn, and a subtle smoky vanillic quality. Flower is a very elegant perfume w/ a soft and overwhelming feminine quality. I see Flower as a winter/spring fragrance. Best worn in those transition months between those seasons and into the cooler days of early spring. Very Beautiful but not the powder bomb that is advertised.

Edit: 12/3/22 The more I explore this perfume I have to upgrade it to a LOVE. It is so beautiful. There is a haunting quality to it that captivates. Worn by a woman of mystery. She is an enigma. I am looking forward to wearing this often in those transition months between winter and spring. I can see wearing this in winter now as well. It has a cold quality that would work brilliantly w/ snow. Violets in snow.

esterelmer

At first it smells amazing, like expensive lotion. Clean and inoffensive. Then after 10 minutes it smells like play doh.

morganbowden

Opening of baby bubblebath, palma violets and icing sugar which, despite its innocence, somehow lends itself to being a reasonably sophisticated womanly scent. Completely inoffensive; I could reduce my review of this to simply say it's "nice." I have owned this for years and worn it a grand total of 1 time.

l_02mx

This is basic yet very distinctive at the same time. Super powdery, floral, and musky. Reminds me of baby powder or parma violets sweets, it’s a really comforting scent. I got this as a free sample as it’s definitely not my type of fragrance but if I hugged someone who was wearing this I’d think they’d smell lovely.

JennyNoBull

This has been a long time favourite of mine since it's launch back in 2000. I love the powdery freshness of this scent--it's unmistakable and very feminine. I repurchased a bottle about 5 years ago and it's still a favourite in rotation. Years ago, I actually had a man at work buy me a bottle when I ran out because he missed smelling it. People always ask me what I'm wearing when I have this in. Although I've discovered a love for niche brands, I feel like Kenzo was a gateway fragrance house into niche, creating some remarkable and unique scents that really stand out from other designers.

SweetJhane

Kenzo Flower is a beautiful, unique perfume. I’m not surprised that it is an Alberto Morillas creation - lovely, clear Bulgarian rose and masterful blending give it a transparent quality. The longer I wear it the more the spiciness and sweetness from the sweet myrhh and musk provide depth. This Flower has spectacular longevity on me - I applied it at 7 am and it’s now 9 pm, and still going strong. I think this perfume is just stunning, from the scent itself to the gorgeous minimalist bottle. True artistry on all levels.

Edit: It’s a cold spring now, and the honey note from the opoponox just shines. Honey, sweet musk, roses, and violets. Just gorgeous! Flower is truly one of the most beautiful, exceptional scents I own.

Yes Malena

My husband does not find this very attractive, but I love it. I love the incense-y base, the dry, sour/bitter violet, the warm powder, all of it is great for me. The rose is very blended; on me this does not read as a rosey perfume, but the rose has a nice subdued place within it. So, maybe not super alluring to some menfolk? But it's a really good perfume!

twiztidladii

Perfect bedtime fragrance. Extremely similar to Guerlain Eau de Lingerie. Soft powdery girly goodness.

After further testing I’ve come to the realization it reminds me of old school Powder deodorant and that sunscreen that has that power smell to it. I think it’s the kids kind. Either way, that’s exactly how this perfume smells.

Yessamin

Soft and sensual flower power with fresh notes of mandarin, roses, violets, vanilla and warm musk.

This is a bestseller EdT

BlancheNeige

I love how powdery it is. I went through a phase where I really wanted a powdery perfume and I wanted to purchase this one specifically. I didn't realize I had it somewhere in my drawer until now! The scent of Kenzo Flower reminds me of back when I used to sneak into other people's vanity as a little girl. It smells so grown up. It reminds me of a nice looking vanity in a master bedroom probably because it smells like makeup? I don't know!

ScentFairy

A classic - in sum, it's "wearable." It's floral, but not too fresh/light but not too heavy either. I wore this briefly during law school, and then I ended up returning to this as my daily scent for my first year in the law firm. I was looking for something that worked with blouses and pencil skirts, but carried a feminine floral quality to it. I wanted something inoffensive, and I ended up picking this classic. If I had to do over, I'd probably pick a clean, musky, and light scent as my first year scent (because this scent has a slight bit of weight to it) but I still think that the versatility of this scent on any outfit made it very easy for me as I was just starting out my career.

jeissi

Flower by Kenzo, the parfume of fairytales. Innocent, dreamy, comforting with delicate violets and roses that have a boudoir allure.

hettymcsweaty

The embodiment of my bloody valentine's Loveless album.

mirrorghost

this starts very powdery with a ton of vanilla and musk and some rose. a few minutes later i get more violet. it's a powdery woody-violet at this point. it's *very* powdery but i am liking these kind of perfumes lately though this one is really strong! i think it's the white musk, which can go kind of sharp on me. (also i am tired of the 'old lady' comments. some perfumes are timeless and people make a lot of assumptions.) anyway i like this but i need to try it in cooler weather and i think it'd be a great bedtime scent.

Saranghaneun

I agree with the other comments that it smells like mosquito repellent and it brings back bad memories lol

MrAbbas

To my nose, it smells similar to Bulgari Goldea. Both of them they give me a bit of classic old lady vibes. I guess I smelled it before on women. Nothing wow in my opinion to be honest. I kinda dig the bottle design but gets a NO from my side.

AngelLadyLoves

I would of never tried this fragrance as i didnt think id like a powdery note and wasnt familiar with Hawthorne which is also a prominant note. But I was gifted a sample, so I tried it and so glad I did. I actually really like it. It's feminine sweet and dainty. The powdery note works well, not over powering. Reminds me of a fragrance i had when I was 14 way back in the 80s? Maybe one of the Verve fragrances or Navy in the dry down. I am finding it very pleasant clear to the dry down 7 hrs later. It's just a nice clean floral powdery scent that has a lil smokiness to it in the dry down that I'm really enjoying as well. I will definately add this fragrance to my collection for spring summer. Honestly, it would probably be great year round. I have used Kenzo dEte and it was a very nice green fragrance. Now I'm going to sample more Kenzo fragrances since those 2 are a yes for me, so far.

Spencemonster

This is nice but the longer I wore it the more it dried down and reminded me of Poudree by Narciso Rodriguez. Which. Performs a lot better and has better diversity. This is sweeter at times. But. Not unique enough to keep I’m afraid. Maybe if you want to mix it with other scents. But. Layering is becoming a bit annoying anymore lately.

pink gallery gal

I have always adored this scent. I wore kenzo flower and eternity by Calvin Klein in the late 90s and each bring back wonderful memories of visits to Paris and weekends away. Carefree 20s when I had no responsibilities & spare money to travel. I don’t own it anymore but one sniff and I’m back there again. I always take the opportunity to sniff it when I see it in store. It’s so unique, bright but warm & cosy. It has a comforting feel to it.

honeyandbranch

I smelled this when it first launched way back in 2000 and hated it. Well I guess time changes what we are drawn to in a fragrance... hence the heavier perfume choices of my 20's and 30's (hello Michael Kors, J'adore, JPG, Jimmy Choo, etc) now don't appeal to me as much.

After reading reviews on powdery perfumes - I am always on the hunt for the perfect one - I decided to try this again in Macy's. Oh my holy heck. It is incredible!! I immediately ordered a bottle online and have been in love ever since. I can see this is really polarizing by the reviews so let me see if I can convey my impression of it.

The first spray is really strong and has clear rose and violet notes, and a strong baby powder accord. I only noticed a trace of mandarin after seeing it listed in the notes.

After a few minutes the powder softens into more of a face powder/lipstick scent with vanilla and incense in the background; the rose and violet are still very present and in your face. I see jasmine is listed but it is not a jasmine forward scent. I think the pastel sweetness of the violets might be what is too much for some people. It reminds me a little bit of Nivea lotion, but much better, and more floral.

If you enjoy a good baby/face powder perfume and like the smell of being freshly showered but with some oomph, I think you will like this a lot. To be clear, this is not aldehydic, Powdery and fresh, yes. Soapy, no. And yet it's definitely not a skin scent. There is nothing else I've smelled like it, so I wouldn't recommend as a blind buy. You have to love rose, violet, and powder. For me personally, this is a strong contender for a signature scent.

Moukka

Rosy powder scent, lovely and comfy. It was very popular on my junior high school (2001) and I haven't smelled it on anyone since that. Until now (2023) My co-worker wore it once and I recognized it immediatly. I can't remember anything similar.

RandomPatterned

This one is all over the map for me. I wanted to try this as I'm unfamiliar with violet and hawthorn as notes. I get along with the other accords listed, and am on board with powdery frags lately. I was intrigued by Kenzo Flower as seems to be a love or strong dislike by the reviews here. I tested a dabber sample. My initial perception was isopropyl alcohol then citrus which reminded me of Tocca Florence. That passed quickly and I smelled something resinous and it became a sweet floral with roses and violets. I think I like violets with roses. I do find a bit of incense along with the resin/amber in the dry down - I'm racking my brain to recall what frag I own that has a similar dry down. I don't find very much vanilla in there. The overall impression to me is it flowery and sweet. To my nose, the powdery aspect differs from iris or orris notes - but I can't adequately characterize it, less prominent perhaps? I'm unsure about the hawthorn note. In the house where I grew up there was a large hawthorn bush in the yard. My vague recollection is it smells slightly bitter. Not sure how or what this adds to Flower. I'm still trying to decide on a go-to powdery floral.

Sweetvanis

Too much opoponax, turns into baby powder on my skin😭

LauraAD

Iris/rose/lilac powerhouse. It's like a spring garden turned up to the max. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but it's nicely done and lasts forever on skin. Good for spring/autumn but too much for summer heat.

halmangu

baby powder + vanilla

Ruby Galore

Sweet glittery violet, a little incense, powder.
How elegant !!
It turns a cotton T-shirt into the finest silk shirt, that's how it smells.

ingeneuxo

-Opens offendingly screechy. This scent screams "wrinkled old lady" at the start.
-But the dry down is somewhat pleasant.
-An excellent soft iris scent that would put Diptyque's Fleur de Peaux to shame.
-I can see why this scent has stood the test of time. (-)

Khelish

reminds me of lipstick. specifically my aunts' lipstick. maybe one of them even wore this? so i can't really give a fair review because it reminds me so strongly of them that i just feel nostalgic and comforted when i smell this, even though i'm not sure i like it because of how it actually smells. i like it because of how it makes me feel i suppose.

i sniffed it and guessed that this perfume was from the 90s. its from the year 2000, so it wasnt a bad guess! powdery, musky, floral..but its like? dried flowers?

vintagebombshell1214

Very nice and sweet perfume, lasts a good amount of time for the price but the sillage isnt great unless you spray a lot. its generic though and isnt one of those perfumes that you notice which one it is, just a regular floral fragrance with a very cute bottle 6/10

Hypnotic Flower

I hate this perfume with all my heart and soul. It reminds me of a funeral, specifically of flowers you put around the casket.
Makes me sad and really puts me in a bad mood. I had no idea a perfume could affect my mood so much until I smelled this one.

leafia

man, I wanted this to be baby powder and lipstick but all I got was granny florals. so sad!

realitygreene

The first two hours of Flower by Kenzo is nothing but baby powder. Now, I am getting the faintest lipsticky-Iris scent and maybe a bare hint of vanilla. The wait time to get to this unimpressive stage is not worth it. This is one of those scents that I imagine might smell really good on someone I hugged, but I don't want to wear it. The bottle is pretty though it might be impractical to store for some. If I want a nice floral scent, I have an arsenal to choose from. Same goes with iris and vanilla.

This is a pass for me. I'm not sure that I'll keep my sample.

ParisLoveXo

Sheeesh what a powerhouse perfume . Literally long lasting and sillage amazing . Sweet baby powder vanilla scent .

Migalex

This is one of the most iconic scents I can think of. I suppose it is a crowd pleaser. Every cheap dupe brand seems to have a copy of it. It is not a common scent these days because violet is no longer trendy. It is very recognizable and if it were discontinued it would be like one of the many basic shades of perfume would be missing from the palette. To me it is all about violet, by far the strongest note, but green and sharp violet, very much like what violet smells on its own. It is powdery, but not in a choking way. It is not a heavy scent, quite rather the opposite, but has got presence, with good silage and staying power. I do not think it is a particularly complex scent, but in its relative simplicity it is unique. As I said, if it disappeared, it would leave an empty space.

jjluvsm9

A fresh violet powder. Very fresh, almost baby powder like on the dry down. Pleasant and comforting, not sexy or complex but it’s not marketed to be. The performance is excellent, lasting 10+ hours.

My rating: 7.2/10

YLC629

Flower by Kenzo is such a lovely scent. I wore it from 2003 until last year when my bottle went bad. I really hate the bottle, just as an aside. It's such a cozy lipstick smelling kind of scent. For me it's only suitable in cold weather. I haven't rebought this but if I could find a smaller size I probably would.

rezzmail

Flower is such a clean skin scent in my eyes, the florals come off faintly much like those lavender laced baby powders. After a bit it comes off almost milky. Overall, this feels universal like Glossier You before it's time.

Ivory_g

I hated this perfume when I was a child, it was my sisters fav and I hated it because of the incense! It would always give me a headache. I’m glad that my sisters got new favorite scents.

mad.as.ladybugs

@ladyofwinter I understand that there had never been an EDT until it was first launched last year. Only EDP.
Something I like to do with this one is spray twice, one behind each ear, and leave it at that. More than enough, I think, for people to get a whiff of it as you pass them by and leave an impression. Too many sprays and the effect will be the opposite!

Applecross_bitch

Scent: 5/10 (to me it’s mid class wearable)
Longevity: 6/10 (6hrs)
Sillage: 5/10 (5cm cold force field)
Cold Clean scent dry down to makeup second skin scent with bit of bitterness ,but I’ve never smelt anything like this before. Its NOT an alluring scent, it kind of gives you a clean airy 5cm sillage barrier around people lol - I think this perfume projects that you are on a higher social status compared to whoever you’re around, possibly the unfamiliarity with the hawthorn, combined with the makeupy scent that kinda says “I’ve got quality makeup on”. It’s actually kind of complex and has subtle layers. It seems like you’re not wearing perfume but you’re a different species of human.
I’d wear this around my old boss or if I worked in retail and I didn’t want people to come close to me, like in a good way I guess. Dry down becomes a tad bitter. I googled hawthorn and is a toxic/decaying smell?
Bulgarian rose/ violet/ black currant (which are notes in ysl Parisienne) kind of give a natural bubble gum smell. This is not present in kenzo flower.

electric_evelyn

I’m sorry if you think this is a grandma scent.

It’s not. Those vintage scents can be traced back at least 30 years ago, mostly in Estée Lauder, Chanel and Guerlain (most of which were true bombs, not like this innocent Flower).

I suppose whoever doesn’t appreciate this perfume generally doesn’t like powdery and florals.

This is one of my favorites. I’m literally craving it sometimes, it’s like therapy.

Will forever appreciate this scent.

Please note that this is not produced by Coty (which in my opinion, has ruined many perfumes), but by LVMH group (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy).

I think the fragrance is so unique. The notes make up a composition so different to any other perfume. It is a very powdery flower bouquet. The sweetness is soft, enveloping, but still very elegant. In my opinion, a very feminine oldschool fragrance. You won't find anything that smells similar! The powdery accent lasts very beginning to the end.

I bought it because of the intriguing bottle initially, fell in love and I used since 2008. This fragrance remained unchanged until recently, though I preferred the EDT. Recently EDT has been reformulated, so I stocked up in the old version.

Best for: sunny spring days and warm summer evenings.

The negative reviews on this one truly break my heart.
This is my favorite perfume (shared first place with l’imperatrice). Sweet baby powder that on me just works so well, it makes me smell clean and is the perfect blend of flower and sweetness.
Its calming and gets a compliment here and there.
The longevity and sillage are amazing. Damn it really sucks that it doesn’t work for so many.

Awful and overpowering. Smells like straight baby powder and play-dough. I never owned it but a friend did. She once sprayed it before leaving my apartment an hour before a date came to pick me up, and he couldn't even step inside because the smell was so overpowering and unpleasant.
