This is a beautiful fresh sweet rosy fragrance gorgeous juicy fruits and grown up! I also loove aura version too I can’t decide

Scentsitivewoman05

Peeking into the notes I thought it will be the same with my narcisso rodriguez for her edp and it will be redundant if I have this. But then sephora threw this as bonus in my package and I ATE the whole vial just in two days. Turns out it it quite different with NR for her. Idole plays a lot with the fruits, the pear and citrussy last longer than just top notes, the rose appear and mixed with the fruits. I dont really catch the pepper but the musk really balance the fruityness in the dry down. Overall it creates shampoo-y vibe not soapy clean vibe, it certainly sweet flower-fruity scent, loud like hair product.
For such price point, I think it is justified, projecting wide enough, last more than 8 hours so for me personally it is beast mode, usually perfume just sit 4-6 hours on my skin but this one just the athlete of perfume on my skin.

hattie.sa

I love this perfume so much, it lasted on my skin for over 12 hours which is very uncommon for me. It’s a beautiful, elegant, rose and sophisticated vanilla, without smelling too mature. Just beautiful and i can’t wait to own a bottle!

LadyGlitterSparkles

In the drydown it smelled identical to Boucheron Quatre, but Quatre lasts waaaay longer. This disappeared completely after a few hours. I will stick with Quatre for a fraction of the price. Idole is different in the opening, more sweet, I can smell pear, rose, jasmine. Generic and overpriced for what it is.

jesuscerda1114

I bought this perfume because I love zenda she is great. This perfume is very pretty and long lasting it's the fancy super powerful just not for me as I enjoy more sexy spice scents. This is perfect for a young woman and I could see this being perfect for a wedding day or something very romantic in classy way

CyanM

Impressions over time: Starts out with soapy undifferentiated florals. I guess I get a faint bit of pear, but it's dominated by the rose and especially jasmine. After ten minutes it's floral and green. After half an hour, it has mercifully settled down some; the projection is still mostly floral but closer in it's possible to pick up some grounding notes of musk and patchouli. An hour later, I smell very green and floral. After an hour and a half the green notes are very penetrating and somewhat detergent-like, to the point where I had to scrub.

It does smell very floral and accessible, which is nice, but on me the green turns sharp and unpleasant. I'm afraid this one is not for me. (Also, that bottle shape! If you have access to a 3D printer at your local library, a number of people have designed stands for the bottle to help it actually stay upright!)

ellerodriguez

I love it. But..
It does smell clean floral and very versatile. Can be worn for everyday and events. However, it is not as remarkable as I expected. Sure it smells really nice but i guess bc it is a familiar scent to almost everyone. If u like a mass pleaser floral scent, this is an ideal pick. I love rose notes and complex scents so this was underwhelming for me.

giuliana_b

Headache inducing massive rose floral. I work in a hotel and a guest who was wearing this stunk up the entire hallway and elevator to the point where other guests would remark on how obnoxious it was. As for the room the guest stayed in? Well we had to air out room for a couple days and use ionizer to finally get the smell out. :((

Florind

mix of sweet fruits such as litchi, waterlemon, peach, apple, strawberry

ordinary fruity cologne + a hint of Miracle

I don't smell any rose, musky, pear, jasmin or bergamot

Dinaina

This to me is a headache in a bottle, I am not quite sure what is causing it but every time I wear it I end up with a massive headache.
I suspect it might be the musk as the other notes I enjoy and have experienced in other fragrances that do not do that to me.
The musk in here is quite harsh, it is not a clean soft musk, it is a rather harsh and rough kind of musk, borderline dirty very synthetic and screechy in my opinion and this ruins the fragrance for me.

Graciegrace

Sweetness overloaddd, flowery, smells cheap, no personality.

aprilsantiano

Don’t listen to any of the clowns leaving bad reviews on this page. They are mostly into their niche perfume that minority people love coz it either smells like a wet dog or an ashtray. I’m sorry, I won’t wear something just to be “unique”. Idole is a sophisticated, classy and an easy reach perfume. Yes it is a crowd pleaser and if you are not into annoying everyone around you then this is the fragrance of choice. It’s fresh and just says “I have taste”. This also lasts and the sillage is quite amazing 🤩 it’s a love!

LisaLeFeu

Smells like the ground floor of a department store. Generic.

Ziva99

She is not my idole.
Cloying and it gave me a sick :(
( maybe the jasmine )

Ana Letic

I literally love all the Idole flankers, they are so youthfully, juicy, girly and happy. They remind me of summertime with my friends by the seaside drinking coctails

Sabrina_A

I LOVE THIS SCENT! It’s so sophisticated and elegant! Not sweet or edible, it feels more like a ”old-school-type-of-perfume” if you know what I mean. It has a 90’s touch to it and I’m here for it. Im tired of all the ”gourmand-hype”. This is how a woman shall smell! CLASSY CLASSY CLASSY!

rene.saller

I love the rose accord--so fresh and green!--and enjoy everything else about Idôle, pretty much, but the word "chypre" is essentially meaningless when applied to Idôle. It's possible that in a world that is stuffed to capacity with treacly dessert gourmands, this simple floral fruitchouli might register as a bit more bitter and sharp by comparison, but Idôle is very far from even a quasi rose-chypre like Diva or Knowing. Idôle reminds me of LVEB Bloom of Rose EDP crossed with Coco Mademoiselle--which is to say it has great ingredients, but it's not exactly reinventing the wheel. I don't really care that Idôle doesn't smell cutting edge. The rose is gorgeous--a photorealistic pink heirloom rose--and the patchouli is Chanelesque: clean and slightly minty-aromatic, never dirty or scratchy. The pear is just sweet enough--not cloying or sticky. Idôle does remind me ever so slightly of YSL Paris, but that's because the rose is just so damn good. I see myself wearing this in the spring and summer, but it would be lovely and appropriate all year round.

As for the skinny/polarizing bottle: I don't mind it. It's functional, and I keep my perfumes in their boxes anyway, so its appearance wouldn't bother me even if it were ugly (which I don't think it is). It does seem rather more breakable than my heavier ceramic perfume bottles and my thicker-glass perfume bottles, but I'm not going to be lugging it around with me. It will live in its box in my rotating perfume tray or in the refrigerator. I will say, however, that the bottle reminds me most of all of the bottle for a classic cheapie, Sophia Grojsman's True Love for Elizabeth Arden, which comes in a flattish bottle that looks like one of those space-saving water bottles you can buy on discount sites. At any rate, minimalism schminalism. The only mimimalist bottles that I truly adore are the ones for Chanel Les Exclusifs. I find the magnetized cap and square shape of my 2016 Misia bottle to be the minimalist beau idéal. I will say that the Idôle bottle is better than the LVEB bottle, mostly because I find those little tulle bows to be highly annoying and counterproductive.

nfarahin19

Sweet floral scent but not cloying. I love how it make me feel like an elegant woman.

Dimanta

I have been going back and forth with this perfume. Exactly four times I bought it and either gave it away, sold it or returned it. This is my fifth time buying it again just because there is something about this perfume that leaves me wanting it in my perfume collection. Every time I wear this perfume people notice it and asks me what is that perfume. Not sure if always in a good way. My grandma was one of them and she has my 2nd bottle. She likes it and says receives compliments, as well.
My mom rarely asks what perfume I’m wearing but when I had Idole Le Parfum on, she did notice and asked what it is. I guess the silage and longevity is very good. I also smell it after 6-9 hours, on my clothes for days.
The perfume is fresh, I get pear and bergamot, rose.. there is a note (I can’t put my hand on what it is. Could be patchouli maybe) that makes me nauseous a little. That’s the reason why I can’t understand if I like it or not…

Allthingssmelly

There is nothing not to like and this is coming from someone who doesn't care for rose perfumes. Idole is elegant, clean and light with a touch of sweetness. This is an everyday all occasions fragrance. I simply adore this musky rose. I feel pretty and put together when wearing this gem. This perfume is timeless and I can't imagine it offending anyone. The rose is not old or dusty and it's not harsh. It's very fresh and youthful. I would highly recommend this and think it's a safe blind buy. I just adore it so much! 😍

Also my boyfriend who never notices or compliments my perfume actually noticed this one and expressed how much he likes it. I have over 50 perfumes and the only one he's ever liked besides this one is Vanilla 28.

chimidoro

Intensive IDOLE phase underway for me.

It takes me right back to the 90s.
How? Or, why? Your guess is as good as mine.

Love it. 😍🌹♥️

CheriLyn

I agree with previous commenter (MildÈdes) that this has that signature Lancome, old timey, powdery scent.
It is a nice powdery rose scent. Just not a scent I would want to have ON me. Really nice when I get sniffs of it from my purse, in the car, in my closet. But not one I want on me. But that is probably my biased thoughts as rose would not be my floral of choice.

zagkoti

This is what I consider my "safe" scent. It is just so easy to use for any occasion. It does the job for me . I reach for it often. Lovely rose sweet floral. One of my top 3 most used scents. The only downside is the awful bottle. Love the design and color but absolutely HATE that it doesn't stand. Why, just why would you make a bottle that doesn't stand. Such an inconvenience.

judearose123

I liked this perfume until I deep cleaned my apartment and I couldn’t decipher between the smell of my perfume and the smell of the multiple cleaning products I had used. The bergamot is so tart and screechy and it never settles into the bottom notes. On me, it literally smells like a freshly cleaned bathroom with some vanilla room spray mixed in. Instant headache.

Stephis8901

I love fruity fragances, this is an elevated pear fragance, I've had several samples and minis through the years and just got a 50ml as a self present.

Is gorgeous, fixation is really good ,Stella is strong .

MildÈdes

This really reminds me of La Vie est Belle, also by Lancôme, except this isn’t as floral and sweet. This is more fruity. The pear, bergamot and jasmine do I think is the strongest, I also think it’s kind of peachy, with vanilla and musk as the base. I think this perfume is quite generic for Lancôme, but I still really like it. It’s powdery, warm, sweet and clean. Very feminine. And the sillage and longevity is amazing as always :)

jotakiepie

Okay I don't know if there's something wrong with my nose but to me this smells extremely similar to La Vie Est Belle?? But just with more rose/fruity notes?? Not that that's bad, I love La Vie Est Belle!! But I feel like it's way too similar for me to want to purchase Idole. I say purchase one or the other, depending on if you want a citrusy vanilla gourmand (LVEB) or a rosy vanilla gourmand (Idole)! :))

Leeenas

I enjoy this scent, but all Lancôme fragrances have this Lancôme vibe to them, kind of old and powdery, even dusty, I can’t describe it, all of their fragrances have this smell to them.
I still like it a lot, it’s a bit sharp and superficial, but nevertheless really good and gives you a clean, put together, romantic, fresh vibe.

sjfb

Not for me as I don’t really like musky scents. However if that’s your thing and you also like realistic smelling rose scents this is well worth seeking out as it’s very well executed. Don’t mind smelling this on other people (bought a bottle for my friend as a gift as they love it) but if it’s too close to my nose i.e when I wear it on myself I don’t really like it! Point being, I don’t like this, but you’re unlikely to offend anyone by wearing this so if it sounds like your thing go and try it out as I would definitely recommend this!

violeteme

Extremely fruity sweet. That pear note is very noticeable, if you are looking for a simple, daily, nice, inoffensive fragrance like Eau Tendre or similar, I doubt this is it, as the fruitiness is just unbearable. There is also shampoo-ish tone, it smells a lot like Fructis Garnier.

FaithHopeLove

I’m just sampling this for the first time now. I’ve had it on my wrist for about 2 hrs now & I just remembered what it reminds me of: the original Victoria from Victoria’s Secret. I mean, it’s almost IDENTICAL (on me, at least). So if you were a lover of Victoria and miss it, as it has long been discontinued, give Idole a try. I also get slight nail polish remover vibes, but again, only slightly. I tested this to try to find a replacement for the discontinued Tresor In Love. If anyone knows of a good match, either in the Idole line or another Lancome perfume or really any perfume that smells similar, I would love to find a good substitute. Thanks!

Lucky7z

When this came out I remember smelling it in a magazine strip then ended up with a sample tester mini and fell in love and it’s been in my collection since!

On me this is a beautiful musky rose perfume with jasmine and hints of pear, pink pepper.patchouli and vanilla.

The longevity is so long lasting and the sulkage is initially strong but dies down to moderate.
I only use two sprays and I am set for the entire day.

Wearable year round and is a compliment getter.

Goldnlady7

A compliment-getter whenever I wear this fragrance. I feel this can be worn year-round.

PinkRainbow

OMG, I think I may have just found my new signature scent! This stuff is magnificent! It floats in the air with a sweet marriage of pear and rose that is totally unusual. So delicately feminine but with a strong presence. The bottle is so simple and yet so refined. Very difficult to describe yet very appealing! Projection and silage are top-notch too. This is the very best scent that could ever be. Love it.

iNayla

Most compliment getter by other women. The whole idole line i mean.

This is day time, feminine, effortless. Crowd pleaser. And can be a blind buy. Tho i prefer the intense version.

Longevity is terrible.

ArianaS

Smells like an expensive body lotion. Fortunately I don’t feel any roses in it, just pear nectar and jasmine. Generic fragrance for everyday.

Blossomlove

This is pristine perfumery by some very talented perfumers because it’s very hard to detect notes in this beautiful fragrance. Nothing jumps out at me. I didn’t even know rose was in it! I could detect the rose in Nectar, but I really struggled to define the notes. I knew it was floral and musk, but other than that. I was lost. It really is such a beautiful fragrance that I’m very happy to have 3.4oz of.

Priyal318

Beautiful scent just not for me. I have one for sale 50ml 97% full with box. Message me if interested.

FlowerSeeker

A beautiful fresh rose scent! Mixed with a juicy pear. I love the opening. It’s bright and sparkly. As it dries it gets sharp and peppery. I’m not a fan of that stage. When dry, it’s a very nice mild rose fragrance with a light musk.

mjf1

I don't have this yet but my boyfriend recommended it to me since he knows I'm perfume obsessed and now I NEED it! I got a tester yesterday and one today so I could compare them at different stages. Honestly I was SO surprised because the pear hit me dead on first thing! I didn't expect it at all because pear notes aren't usually strong imo and also I didn't think I'd like it very much. I'm really pleasantly surprised with the strength of the pear and now nicely they made it work with the rose and jasmine heart where it doesn't clash. If I got it it would be my 3rd perfume with a rose-jasmine heart.. I guess I have a type!
The intro is loud, it's fresh and sharp and pleasant, it's attention grabbing, the pepper acting more like a support which I like because I like pink pepper when it's inoffensive. I smelled it again about 10 mins later and the pear was already starting to fade and only then did the pepper start to reign over it but not badly. It's sweet and pleasant, not in a candy/caramel way but in a juicy fruity way, like a natural sweetness.
Today's tester is now a couple hours old, the rose is definitely more prominent now on the musk and vanilla, mostly musk. It's beautiful. Soapy but not overwhelming. That's what's surprising me- it's soapy. I'm really liking the soapiness. It smells clean and fresh but not like cotton fresh. Soapy like the hallway of a high-end sprucewood apartment... Or maybe that was just the hallway of my auntie's apartment when I was a kid. It feels nostalgic in this stage. I'm falling in love.
The day old one. As the soapy rose-jasmine heart bows out the vanilla starts to become more dominant. It's kinda losing the nostalgia but it feels like growing up. It's cosy. Hmm.. kinda cosy like coming home at night, setting the keys down on the shelf, taking your shoes off and walking along a wooden floor in socks. Then sitting on a leather couch with a fluffy blanket and TV. The vanilla makes it warmer, I think thats where the images come from. The coming home at night bit to an apartment and turning on the heat. Like gently warming up.
I can't really smell the patchouli. And the bergamot I feel like it lingers the longest out of the top notes which blends with the soapiness so well.
TLDR: I need it.

wondervalley666

A gorgeous soapy freshie rose+jasmine floral scent with a touch of citrus and cedar. Smells like true realistic clean rose soap, but softened and modern compared to the screechy fancy rose soaps in my grandmother’s guest bathroom. Excellent quality. I ended up with a bottle of this a year ago that I thought was nice but not amazing. Later discovered it was fake. Threw it out. Testing the real scent now and it’s so much better. I’d say this is probably the best safest and easiest to find mainstream basic soapy rose perfume. Very simple with no clashing notes. Quality and smells of true flowers, not sharp or synthetic. I feel like 90% of the bad reviews here are from young girls who tested this because Zendaya is the model for it, and they were all expecting something like fruity Delina or vanilla Very Good Girl and ended up with the Idole soapy non-gourmand rose perfume instead. They probably should have had Zendaya promoting Tresor Nude, the sweet young gorgeous boozy coconut vanilla rose scent. Idole is a bit more adult & chic, best suited for grown women with adult tastes who aren’t into gourmands and want to skip fruity girly fragrances. Personally, I love this, and Tresor Nude, and Delina, and VGG, and more. I’ve been on a rose kick this winter for some reason. I am already fighting the urge to order a bottle I don’t need.

So good!

cflatorrev

I can describe this fragrance in two words: GENERIC ROSE.

Timaka

When Idôle launched, I sniffed it at a local department store and wrote it off as something pretty-but-kinda-boring. Fast forward, today at the office my colleague entered the room with the most lovely, sparkling, fresh scent cloud around her. She told me it’s the original Idôle.

The pear, florals and vanilla are blended to perfection with this scent and I might even consider this to buy next when I’m on a market for a easy-reach feminine, slightly soapy freshie (currently it’s Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet for me). The magic definitely is in the sillage for me when it comes to Idôle!

Alexonehundred

It’s okay, it gives me a grandma vibe, especially the longer it sits on my skin. I feel like it’s so close to being something I’d love except I feel like a note is missing or should be stronger, I’m not really sure what it is, overall it’s clean, musky and it’s pretty average. I don’t dislike it but i very rarely reach for it

Starlady

I bling brought a travel sized bottle of this based on reviews, and I am regretting that decision.

I blind brought this because I've been looking for a "straight out of the shower" fresh scent for a long time that would make me smell like I had just taken a shower with nice fragrant rosy soaps. This fragrance however did not live up to my expectations in that regard. It smells like the kind of cheap synthetic pink perfumes that teenagers wear. The opening is also screechy and gives me a headache, and it ends up smelling slightly plasticky on my skin as it develops. It gives a fresh vibe and it's not offensive, but not the kind of fragrance I was looking for. I shouldn't be blind buying fragrances, so lesson learned.

I will not be repurchasing. I'm glad I just got a travel size, so I was able to toss it in my gym bag just in case I need a light spritz of something for my after-work gym sessions.

Elisjah

In the beginning a lot of fresh sweet roses with zest and just after a shower of rain so juicy. Then softer and warmer in the sun and more intoxicating with jasmine. The vanilla and musk come later as skinscent. Idole never gets too heavy, but remains creamy rose petal sweet, not candy sweet, but a bit strawberry lip gloss associations. Combines very well with chocolate and red wine ☺️

Studphobic

A very pretty soapy and sparkling rose scent. It doesn't smell complex so it's an easy reach in the summer when you just want to smell good. I tend to not like rose fragrances but this one is very likeable and it lasts well on the skin in the heat.

NadiasmellsGorgeous

It’s really lovely, and a typical “soft fruity” designer smell. It’s inoffensive and really light. However, the dry down on me is clean laundry. I don’t hate that smell, but I wish it would stay fruity for a little longer. I would rather have Marc Jacob Perfect or Jimmy Choo I want Choo for the same fruity floral vibe.

cutiepi

I smelled this perfume for the first time years ago, it reminded me of a bougie shower. Suddenly a few months ago, I recalled the scent and someone walked past me in a hallway leaving the freshest smelling scent trail. I was hooked and trying to figure out what it was with countless google searches and no luck. I visited a perfume counter and without any questions, the associate told me it was her favourite scent and the second I smelled it, I realized I had found the scent I was looking for!

I am not typically a patchouli fan, I liked it in Angel and Black Orchid but absolutely despised it in flowerbomb. Somehow its blended so nicely in this fragrance. I bought it immediately. I will say I slightly prefer Nectar as I am very much a gourmand lover, but I love this as a clean girl fragrance. I do wish the bottle had a slightly wider base so I don't keep accidentally knocking it over.

diamonte

If you’re looking for a perfume that screams beautiful stay at home moms type of energy, then this is it. It’s not loud (except for the opening) but once it dries down, it smells very beautiful and easy on the nose, perfect for daily wear. The bottle is cuteeeeee!

samanthalemay

Floral and sweet but not too sweet. More of a fruity sweet rather than cupcake sugar sweet. Very refreshing.

Lara Shaq Rahlim

I had a free decanter of this from buying a lancome lipstick. This surprisingly had amazing staying power. I had sprayed this for work and I could still smell it after 7 hours. Bear with me, I live in a tropical country and Idole performed really well with the heat.

It was a beautiful refreshing floral perfume. The rose and jasmine married well with pear and fresh bergamot. Normally I didn’t like pink peppers in any fragrance but since the pink peppers here weren’t offensive or loud, so I didn’t mind it at all. In fact, I quite prefer this than La vie est belle mainly for the refreshing floral, long lasting performance. I will definitely buy this in the future.

ay.mor

Bright lemon and rose.
Almost generic but then the pink pepper and cedar reign it in and give it some depth (+ musk).

Not sweet like caramel but I'm guessing it's the pear that makes it slightly sweet like juice.
The vanilla is hardly detectable and I only know it's there because it makes Idole more warm, which is how I like my vanilla in fragrances.

Every time I spray it, I think about getting rid of it because of the generic first impression, but I keep getting whiffs of it for hours and it's almost addicting so I haven't been able to let it go.
Longevity is great for a freshie (not exactly a freshie since very floral as well but gives those vibes with the lemon), so I'm keeping it for now.

Arina8Sierra

This scent reminds me of a lot of others, but there is still something different & compelling about it. It’s not “sweet”, but does have a natural sweetness to it. The pear & rose are lovely together, with a hint of vanilla. If I had to say anything bad about it, it would be the pepper maybe too strong for some. Overall to me this is a very classy, sexy, & beautiful everyday perfume!

jadepo21

You’re going to have to love rose to want to wear this one. It is a lot of rose. For me, it was too headache inducing and smells rather mature, in the least positive sense of the word. Just nope.

jademcd

Idole Is a very fresh and soapy rose-musk association. There is not much sweetness in it. It feels very pleasant wearing it after a shower. It could be too girly for some though. To be honest you can find many similar fragrances that are more complex and cheaper! I really like this youthful, girly designer perfume but it is not worth its price unfortunately.

Morganrway

Has been my signature scent for a few years…I have started smelling it on other women frequently and notice it is such an assault on others in a way that I don’t notice if I’m the one wearing it usually…so for that reason I do not use this in enclosed public places unless it’s at night or a party setting and want to feel sexy and standout. Something about the dry down does give me a headache occasionally so I don’t find myself reaching for it as often as I used to. Still a classic and timeless staple in my collection and helped me realize and narrow down what notes I love and gravitate to in a fragrance.

The new Angel Elixir by Mugler has similar DNA to this, which is what I now wear in lieu of this.

Jackiekeyes99

I really love this fragrance. I’m not a huge fan of the opening, a bit sharp to my nose, still fresh and pleasant. Opening doesn’t last long 10min, and then you get the most amazing middle and end notes! Very well blended. So cozy and comfortable and creamy on my skin in the dry down. To me this sits close to skin but not sticky at all. Dry down lingers forever on clothing and skin and is soo mmmmm! I can wear this everyday, I’d wear it anywhere, anytime of year, in any style of clothing. It’s classic and not cloying at all. Casually clean and chic with some soft warmth.
Side note, Patchouli haters don’t fear I don’t smell it here.

locustplague

This smells like the hand soap at a very expensive hotel. Clean and pleasant, but without much depth. I like using it when I need something light and inoffensive in the warmer months, but I don't gravitate to it. It doesn't last very long, and in my opinion, it's not worth the price.

Mae10

Smells like apple & shampo

olfactorie

It smells like Head and shoulders Classic clean shampoo. Overpriced and with a nasty bottle, nothing original about it whatsoever.

Mennaa

I got this years after I got the intense one, and I intended to get the OG but first time got the intense instead.
I have to say this is so much better than the intense and better worn in summer. I got this last summer and wore it religiously till I’m almost halfway through the bottle, left it aside, and tried wearing it again in winter, and I have to say it’s very cloying for some reason in colder months? I got the worst headache ever. In hotter months, it smells super clean and fresh; however, in winter, it smelled so cloying and for some reason the musk was screechy. So I guess I will wear it only in summer for that matter.

Overall it’s a very lovely scent and performs quite well, even projects better than the intense imo

Smonalisa

A cosy musky rose. I detect the pear in the opening; it sweetens and brightens the rose, but then, as the liquid dries, it lays the rose down on a bed of powdery vanilla and musk as it exits. A lovely elegant everyday scent. Reminds me a little of the rose in Stella.

Emerald615

There are certain scents that seem to remind me of deodorant, and this is one of them. Like a dove pomegranate spray deodorant. Another scent that does a similar thing on me is Ocean di Gioia. Idole is pleasant, sweet, inoffensive, fruity, feminine, but doesn’t do anything incredible for me personally.

LEM922

This smells exactly like “You’re the One” from bath and body works. I love it. I’m so happy I’ll be able to layer these. This is a GORGEOUS rose fragrance. For patchouli haters, fret not — it’s undetectable. I do get some cedar and musk, and a slight pear edge in the opening. But the rose is the star of the show. I think Lancôme is such an underrated house … they’ve been pushing out classics for generations. I haven’t smelled an Idole flanker I haven’t been impressed with yet. I haven’t gotten my nose on Idole Now, but I’m sure I’ll adore it just as much as the other 3. This is simply gorgeous. Youthful smelling rose. I love it.

walkingdress1809

idole is a delicious fragrance to wear while sitting on a couch polka-dotted with honey mustard pretzel crumbs, or while watching youtube half-naked. ideally, you end up doing both.

it’s just so good for lounging and stretching. on my skin, cotton shirts, and especially in my ponytail, idole establishes a dense vanilla musk i want to sleep on. it carves up a pear while my eyelids get heavy; i'm like a cat in the blue afternoon sun. will someone peel me other fruits?

no, idole lingers, like a generous lover. it sticks to my pillow cases. it douses my cardigans in mellow bergamot for days. it turns me into the perfect cocktail, and then i’m ready for anything.

Fatima1219

I purchased this a few weeks ago, for a discounted price. Today is my first time wearing Idole. It is also my birthday--I decided to make Idole, layered with Chasing Fireflies, my fragrance of the day. Idole is a sharp fragrance--most suitable for weather with a chill in the air. Idole is fruity, musky, and sweet. My nose is having a hard time distinguishing between specific notes, but Idole is blended very well. It is not groundbreaking, yet, it is suitable for most day occasions and signature scent worthy. Idole is familiar, comforting, and uplifting. It wears well layered, and nicely all on its own. In my opinion, it would make a great gift. Idole has a longevity of about six hours, but it wafts. Nice blind buy!

meowitsyzza

I LOOOOOOVE THE SCENT SO FAR!!!!!! It is an amazing light rosy, musky and a bit of a creamy touch of vanilla in the background with a blast of pear in the opening... You can simply drench yourself with it and fall asleep cuz it has this cozy vibes into the dry down...

SCENT: 10/10
LONGEVITY: 7.5/10
SILLAGE: 8/10

Sarra816

Bright floral elegance. One of my most complimented perfumes. I wore this on my trip to Turkey and when I came back I could still smell it on my jacket for a few days. Its a clean (slightly fruity from the pear) fresh rose. I like wearing this for all seasons although it seems even more brilliant in the winter.

Shanty36

The original is still my favourite of the 4 idoles I have (original, aura, necta, now). It’s the cleanest notes smelling (purest pear and rose notes to me). I just started getting into perfumes and this line was my first full dive into “lines” and flankers. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a sweet, pear floral scent. Absolutely beautiful. And dries down fairly consistent with the mild musk sweetened with the vanilla. Great relatively simple, sweetish fragrance.

Gionnijulius1820

This is just a beautiful fresh dewy rose! I ALWAYS get compliments when i wear this, literally every time! At work, in drive thrus, from women to men, want to know what I'm wearing. I only wear this when paired with the matching body creme, it's makes it last 10× longer & helps the projection. Its a beautiful scented lotion, can just wear the lotion if you don't want your scent too strong, it'll be the perfect amount of scent for a light scented type of person. This is a 8/10 for me, because it is a beautiful rose, and also b/c it had great lasting power & it's VERY versital, from casual to formal and from summer to winter. In winter it smells so good, it brings a memory of spring, and still projects great in the cold weather.

OnlyGodKnowsimGood

an older sister’s perfume. elegant, poised and soft. definitely on the feminine side of the spectrum. it really is a safe buy and you can’t really go wrong with it.

eaudeaesthetic

Beautiful and feminine rose perfume with little bit freshness in the opening and Musk in the dry down.it can be signature scent.Good SPL. If you want something that makes you feel pretty and feminine, something to attract your men, look in the designer's section. Idole is one of them

SlavicaK

This fragrance was a gift. Like many reviewers before me, I like it, but don't find anything very special about it. It smells nice, inoffensive, optimistic. The sillage is strong, which might be a plus for some (I prefer a more intimate scent).
I never find myself particularly looking forward to wearing it but once I have it on, I quite like it! Still, my 30 ml bottle is generous enough for my needs and I don't think I'll be repurchasing; who knows, maybe I'll change my mind.

CherryWavesforever

this was such a pleasant surprise after almost a full year of gourmands. i am simply smitten. the moment i sprayed it i just felt happy. it is so fresh and lightly sweet. Rose is fresh, jasmine is fresh, pear is fresh, all i think of this fragrance is fresh. you are washing your freshly picked pears in the river in your flower garden. it almost smells like water but in the most beautiful way. and it's sillage is one of the best i've ever used. i don't know why it has such a low score here. literally underrated. i have several testers, when i run out of them i will get the full bottle.

Edit: I got the full bottle and i will be leaving it alone until april because it needs to marinate a little bit. And i fully agree with bbw you're the one being a dupe, for 15 minutes. You're the one stays strawberry heavy but Idole pushes rose and pear as it dries down. Beautiful spring fragrance. Criminally underrated.

lucasthiring

I went to Müller yesterday to try out most of the perfumes on my wishlist and Lancome Idole knock me out of my socks! It smells like a floral heaven! I sprayed it yesterday around 2-3pm and I still smell it on me the next day. Nit as strong obviously just faintly. Even my husband said he can still smell it and he LOVES it on me! It's definitely going to become my new signature scent!

seasalty

This is a light, refreshing scent that, despite the top notes, feels more floral than fruity. It's a bit bland but seems to be a blind purchase friendly perfume; inoffensive and worth trying.
I won't be repurchasing however as the bottle seems to require an engineering degree to stand upright.

Powerfulpatchouli

When you want to revisit the 90’s without going anywhere near the reformulated Calvin Klein or Donna Karen’s.

Hayriye

I blind bought this scent, since it was on retail. I'm glad I did, because I think it would be a scent that I would normally overlook. I see people are quite negative or neutral about this scent, but I am quite positive about this scent! The opening is very floral and I mainly smelled jasmine, which I normally don't like, but the drydown is so pretty and the jasmine is not as prominent as before. Someone mentioned that she smelled like a walking flower bouquet and I agree. After the the dry-down it smells both flowery and fresh, because of the white musk. Imo t's a very safe scent, you can either wear it to office, but also when going out if you don't want to smell too 'offensive'. The sillage is moderate and longevity is pretty good, so you don't need to overspray. I would wear this kind of scent during spring, summer and early autumn.

dovelette

I do not tend to review so harshly yet for the brand and preference recognition for this perfume to be so far reaching, I find it needing to be stated that I find it to be overly a rather generic and uninspired production, syrupy to the point of disgust, coupled by quite a few glaring issues that do not lead to a kind view or recommendation.

First is on the technicalities of the bottle design - it is so thin that it is not stable and is easily knocked over and could break as it is very fragile and unbalanced, at least it has been in my experience. I really dislike this bottle though the initial impression is a beautiful warm feminine tone and color in addition to how the the inner depressed circular design is a neat element that artistically may make this perfume stand out, however, the base of the bottle is too thin and is difficult to prop up, making displaying or storing a chore, not a joy and so I would prefer if they redesigned the bottle to stand up without fear of this. I have to prop up between other bottles or items on my vanity, not ideal to make perfume an inconvenience instead of a pleasure.

Secondly, yet most importantly, is the scent and unfortunate performance which is its ultimate undoing: drenched in headache-inducing, nauseating spun sugar, Idôle is an imposing floral cosmetic experience that is bright, flirty, and suitable year round and quite powerful and long-lasting - strengths that initially drew me to this shimmering rose-gold apparition, yet, as a ghost, she flitted away from a promising vision only to morph into a juvenile, unserious, and cloying phantom, overtly sweet to the point of suffocating nausea.

On one occasion I began sweltering to the point I had to take a damp cloth to my neck to remove prior to almost passing out. I have never had a perfume effect me so negatively before. Perhaps we could give it the benefit of the doubt in this most nauseous experience that it was slightly oversprayed or that I was in an enclosed auditorium or that the summer humidity was too intense; that however is being far too generous as every time I have sprayed this I have felt similar. Beyond those potential factors, I suspect it may be the overwhelming amount of rose, patchouli, and cedar notes that combined to prick my senses instead of welcoming them with a fresh bouquet. Please take this into consideration as maybe this is my anecdotal experience alone (I am not allergic to anything so I would be surprised if that's the case) or possibly a common reaction to the composition or a certain ingredient. I think it important to mention, especially if you are sensitive to certain perfume reactions, which I tend not to be, as I do not wish my review to dissuade you if you truly love and appreciate this scent but I also wish to warn others of my severe negative experience upon numerous attempts over the months I have tried to learn to love this purchase.

I cannot recommend it yet could understand who it can be a draw for - perhaps young women entering adulthood who are beginning to explore the world of perfume, those who exceptionally are attuned to and desire sweet and artificial scents, or if received as a gift. It is relatively inexpensive and its profile is fruity/floral, youthful, and long-lasting, though for what it is I also do not think the price is justified and still urge you to look elsewhere for a better option first.

In good conscious and biased preference, I cannot and do not recommend it and I would kindly redirect and happily recommend its truly glorious sisters, Lancome's La Vie est Belle and gorgeous flanker Iris Absolue EDP, who bring the right amount of sweetness and sophistication with delightful, sparkling grace, a fresh bouquet of caramelized warmth, a simultaneous nuanced depth and hint of subtle mystery, and an altogether more beautiful experience that better idolizes what Idôle promises

LindseyBrooke

This is a classy floral scent that is great for everyday use. I received this perfume as a gift and although I don't think I would have purchased it myself, I'm glad to have it in my collection.

The florals in this are very beautiful and almost have a bright, spicy quality to them. Upon first smelling this perfume I realized there was more depth beyond the gorgeous floral. I believe the bergamot and pink pepper in the top notes can be credited for this.

The longevity is certainly not bad, I can usually smell this in my own scent bubble for several hours. The sillage is pretty moderate. I prefer my perfumes a bit stronger and with more projection, but this isn't a weak perfume by any means. Overall I would say this is a 7.5/10. Very, very lovely perfume.

happybyscent

The longest lasting "fresh" perfume I've ever tried! This smells very clean and pretty. I smell slight rose but more of a fresh and sophisticated fruity floral. It's subtle in its notes--meaning nothing is punchy or easily identifiable. It's strong but light at the same time. It's not too sweet, too musky, or too anything. The blend is gorgeous and cohesive and I can see this being versatile for any occasion. It lasted the entire day on me, Idole really lives up to the hype.

mikacorra247

I've worn this almost daily for about two months now. Lancome Idole is a fresh rose & pear perfume. When I first spray it, that pink pepper really gives it that sharp kick. But once it settles down, it's a sweet rose perfume. Not the syrup kind of sweet, it's just floral-fruity sweet that is blended well. Girls love this, in my small collection, this perfume gets the most compliment overall. Good sillage, projection & longevity. It suits the hot climate in my country so well. It's a safe blind buy & a great gift for the women in your life.

However, I gotta say, this perfume (and Lancome Miracle) made me realize that I really don't like pink pepper or any kind of pepper in my perfume. I also realize that I don't like rose-prominent perfume, so much so, that even though this is a good perfume, I stopped using it as of recently, once I added something else in my collection. So yeah, it's good but it's just not my personal preference. I like the flankers more TBH. But the OG is still good.

I love the packaging though. I have a 50ml of it and it's so convenient to travel with. I kept in my bag every day.

chiaraherself

I feel like a walking rose bouquet.

electric_evelyn

Sweet and cloying, but in a fresh kind of way.
Similar composition and vibes to Britney Spears - Midnight Fantasy.
A young scent.

eerie

I'm personally not a fan of a citrusy opening, so immediately I was put off. But as it warmed on my skin the rose notes started coming through. I don't know how others percieve this perfume as youthful, it's a mature, feminine, daytime perfume. I don't smell sweetness that others describe, but take that as a grain of salt as I'm a gourmand lover.

Yes Malena

The opening smells similar to a rose essential oil, but from there it develops outside my zone of interest. The jasmine note ruins it for me. Jasmine in this style is intolerable on me. I get why many people enjoy this perfume, and I would be glad to smell it on someone else. I like the idea of being able to wear this. Ain't gonna happen for me though. I will be happy with my Patou Joy, or with my dirtier jasmine perfume oils. Peace.

Slavkina

Youthful and sweet.
Cottagegirl. Going on a date in a park. Setting up a picnic. Picking daisies. Flowy dresses. Pastel colours. Braiding eachothers hair. Soft touches.

SweetEnigmaticSoul

I love this scent on my skin & clothes a LOT!! I was in a spiritual store and it stopped the owner and her client in their tracks asap! They kept saying someone smells like a pretty flower. Lol I said nothing and then they passed by me and screamed “ you smell so good omg I want to smell like that forever!” I had on Idole with a little bit of you’re the one by bath and body works.

This is a great everyday scent for sweet rose lovers like myself! ❤️❣️❣️❤️❣️❤️✨✨✨✨🔥😩

Sassafras23

Can anyone explain how this is a chypre? Is everything that has patchouli in it a chypre? I thought that it was the oak moss that was the defining bottom note.

Homage

Fresh, dewy and powdery rose with juicy citrus rose for 90 minutes. Subtle plastic pear syrup gives it an artificial shampoo vibe I don't like. Bitter pencil shavings from the cedar give it a nod to Light Blue but not too much. Vanilla baby powder adds a soft feminine touch and blends it together. After 2 hours it's a barely detectable rosey musk skin scent on me. Very balanced, elegant and optimistic but I really wish it would last longer/be stronger.

isa_priore

Rwertz123

There are a lot of neutral/negative comments about this perfume but to me this perfume sticks out. It’s feminine, and floral with a bit of sweetness. I really enjoy this perfume as something to wear all the time, it’s a very pretty fragrance! There are a lot of perfumes that people recommend and I end up thinking they’re headache inducing, but this is not one of those! This is a good one!

aesthetic_k

Yes, idole is not the most unique, exciting, or groundbreaking perfume available in the market. But it is something that the majority of people would enjoy and consider it as a safe scent for any occasion 🩷 Sometimes you dont always need to wear something over the top to impress others, just a perfume that makes they think that you have a good taste is enough and more importantly your scent should not suffocate everybody around you. Idole definitely is a crowd-pleaser (with appropriate amount of spray) and fits perfectly into any types of event. It opens with a light, bright, cheerful, and fresh pear. Rose quickly comes in and turns idole into a floral scent and stays dominant all the way 🌹 Musk slowly joins the combination which adds depth to the scent and balances out the freshness at the beginning, making it more tender and powdery 🎀 The sillage and longevity is also very good on me. Idole is a daytime perfume and it is appropriate to any types of weather 🌞🌧️ I think it is a safe blind buy unless you dislike light rose scent and this is going to be my new go-to perfume 🥰

kinga.s.r.

it smells like a pear fabric softener. Fruity, fresh and generally pleasant, but neither unique nor sophisticated. It is still ok as a daily office fragrance (if you don't mind that most likely some of your female colleagues are wearing it too), but if you expect something extraordinary, you'll be disappointed.

Mia80

Very flowery. It’s good after a while on my skin. Not as good as miss Dior or Libre. Too much flower but it is pleasant.

Astara_Elaria

Sometimes you just have to keep it simple. And sometimes I just WANT to keep it simple, just smell fresh and pleasant, a little rosy, a little musky, a little freshly cut, juicy pear (but not too much). I was looking for an easy reach for the office. Of course there are classics (I know and have had most of them), but I just wanted something younger, something more “everyday” (actually) so that my business partners wouldn't be distracted by my scent... So if you're looking for a simple, pretty and feminine scent, this fits the bill: Idole is "just there" and underlines YOUR natural friendly character and your professional personality without covering it up with anything false...Yes, it has this kind of French charm.
And in rainy weather, the rose really blooms🌹. So, maybe not groundbreaking, but good and simple. I like👍. Since I got it on sale, I even don't have to complain about the price (it was a real deal).
But the best: My husband loves it on me, so I always get compliments when I come home from work💗.

gonegirl

VERY basic rose scent, nothing special imo. BUT the sleek bottle is gorgeous and i'm tempted to buy this just for the bottle

madsoem

I often wear this at the office. A sweet, classic smell thats easy to wear.

seashelleyes

There has not been a single time I’ve worn this scent that someone hasn’t complimented me on it. It’s beautiful for day or night, casual or formal events. Absolutely love this one.

pixie_dust_reviews

I found this while searching for a similar scent to B&BW You’re The One, and my goodness it is heavenly! My new signature scent. I get a lot of compliments on this perfume.

astralmonad870

This smell is beautiful and fresh and the bottle is uniquely designed not to take much space. The only thing is that it smells very similar to Armani Acqua di Gioia with the citrus and aquatic notes, which I already have and I still need to use up my 50 ml bottle.

kristina_m

It's a solid 8/10. I bought Idole eau de parfum 25 oz. in a duty free shop in Switzerland in Oct 2019 and loved it, but stopped wearing designer perfume during covid since I've worked from home ever since. I have 3/4 of a bottle left, so I decided to try it again last night. It is a bit heavy at first for me, and I get migraines often from perfumes. My biggest complaint is that the top notes of pear fade away within only a few minutes but the middle notes of rose are nice, and then it taken about an hour or less to turn into a powdery patchouli musk. I woke up and still smelled it on my wrists this morning. I really like it, it's a very nice perfume, especially since it's not too sweet, but looking back, I would have bought a small spray bottle if it were available. It's been in a humid bathroom for 4 years and hasn't turned rancid -- overall, it's a rather good quality perfume. The bottle design is a major fail though and super annoying because it does not stand up.

MadameNantes

The perfume initially intrigued me with its delightful scent when I tested it on a strip. I could smell all the top notes and the rose, I found myself agreeing with the majority of reviews and was already planning to make a purchase.

However, the true test came when I applied it to my skin. On my skin, this fragrance underwent a dramatic transformation, evolving into an overpowering white floral concoction that proved to be incredibly headache-inducing. Just 15 minutes later, I found myself driving on the highway, battling waves of nausea induced by the scent. It was so overwhelming that I had to reach into my bag for my Purell sanitizer while driving.

Needless to say, this fragrance was far from being a safe blind buy for me!

stillalive

On paper, I should love this. But when I try it on, it gives me an instant headache.

pale-cinder

Suffocatingly sweet rose, chocking musk, gives me headaches.

Imyourheiress

I found my new signature scent! I'm on a hunt for a designer perfume i can make as my signature for a long time although i have quiet a few expensive and niche one's, Niche perfumes are ok to wear on special occasion but not on a daily basis because of the price point.soft floral casual and feminine scent! I'm thinking of buying my 2nd bottle of this! I want to bathe in this. This is a love!!!

Paintedtrillium

A middle of the road fragrance. Nice in summer. The rose is interesting. The pear opening is beautiful- so juicy I almost interpret it as peach. Overall, the sillage is a bit strong so underspraying is recommended by me.

Sometimes you are presented with occasions for which one’s super sophisticated masterpiece perfumes are wasted. This is an easy reach for summer office - a one and done spray. Would also be perfect for wearing in the infield at the KY Derby (run for the roses). School board meetings, grocery shop errands, etc.

It will garner compliments if that makes you feel good. Not every fragrance in my library has to be an olfactory masterpiece. Sometimes you just need a worker bee of a scent to match an ordinary or understated occasion. This one will do. I think best used in late spring and all summer. It certainly will work in fall too.

As for the bottle not standing, it is best to store fragrances in their boxes and also the .85 ounce is proportioned such that it will stand so long as you don't have pets or kids who might jostle it off kilter. And this is the perfect size to buy. If you decide you love the fragrance you can purchase refills for the bottle. The square bottle is quite cute.

glowcel

It's okay. Inoffensive but boring, not worth the buy at all imo.

colorfulmess

With my skin chemistry on a paper tester, this is a strong leathery rose. But I'm worried that with a real tester, I'll get something else. I doubt Lancome would make a leathery scent their main star. Hope I'm wrong!

sagecoated

I feel like a fairy whenever I wear this. Light, kind, cheerful. It is so gentle to the point where I sometimes wear it in my self care days inside my house. I wish it lasted longer on me, may try L'intense in the future.

barry1052

This is an everyday / office appropriate fragrance so so so so good super wearable! Have never thought I’d fall in love with this one!!

I was super disappointed and unimpressed by these type of scents, but I received tons of compliments when I wear this every time, people took a deep breathe and asked me what I am wearing~

The pear note is super prominent at the opening, fresh dewy smells like a real pear ! It’s a bit sharp at first but the dry down is soapier and cleaner than I expected I wear this everyday during summer under the super humid hot weather in Hong Kong, it still works and performs perfectly!

Wear this and prepare for tons of compliments. I added all the flankers to my collection and I’m really loving it!! All the flankers are really good

Sombra

That was my wedding day perfume and since then I associate it with smth bright, happy, uplifting and promising of a great future.
I also like the marketing campaign behind this perfume, I think they did a great job trying to bring sense to this creation with affirmative words like “I can - we will”.
Though I am normally not fond of floral-dominant scents, this one is a strong like to me as a day time perfume that you can wear in so many occasions. They mixed it well with other ingredients. Sadly though, on my skin it becomes a skin scent after an hour.
I currently have a travel size, and recently got the Nectar 100ml version. Once it’s over, I’ll certainly purchase the original one.

Rjhuggi

One of my top 5. How can anyone not love this? It's beautiful, cassy, and so elegant. 10/10!

Durar

Simply perfect! This is my signature perfume and my mum’s too and it is the one we keep repurchasing. It is timeless and suits everyone in any season. It pairs up well with many other perfumes and can serve as a base for a very unique scent if you like to experiment with perfumes.

I don’t think I ever repurchased a perfume as much as I repurchased Idôle. It should be noted that I have it in all its versions, but the original is unbeatable.

galyagal

This perfume was gifted to me. Even though initially I didn't like it and wanted to give it away, I decided to give it another try later (and I already figured that I often change my mind later, haha, so it's better not to hurry). When I tried it two years later I saw it in a different light. Even though I usually don't like rose in perfume, it became an easy reach for literally any occasion. It's sparkling, bright, joyful, juicy, sweet, sensual and feminine, a little too loud for my taste (but that's ok). After the first burst of rose calms down, it becomes veeeeery musky, which I like. Performance is great in my opinion: it stayed on my skin the whole day so absolutely no need to reapply. On clothes it stayed for 2+ days. And I really liked warm and sensual cedar+vanilla combination at dry down that I could smell at the end of the day on my wrist (did I mention that I looove woody notes?..)) After putting on Idôle, I immediately wanted to buy a crispy white slightly oversize shirt and year it with denim pants or shorts and elegant jewelry.

In a nutshell, the smell of this perfume makes me think of a first day on a new job, or first day of a study abroad program when you are in college and are all excited about what's ahead (this reminded me of wearing a rose-based perfume when I first came to the US in 2009 for an exchange program in graduate school. Was it Pleasures by Estée Lauder?...) So yeah, good memories. Kind of tickling inside of you.

Definitely a keeper.

cgaleb

This is a pretty perfume, a nice sweet floral that is completely inoffensive. I consider this to be a gentle sweet with a bit of tang from the fruits. While I think that it smells similar to other modern perfumes I would totally wear this to work or family events. If I found this for a nice low price or was gifted it, I would happily wear it and I feel like many other women would too.

maddieonline

Very dainty and feminine rosy perfume - nothing particularly unique, but also very easy to wear and pleasant. I don't find that this lasts particularly long on me which is unfortunate and I don't think I will purchase a full bottle, but this is definitely a safe blind-buy.

.rosamartho

Idole é um perfume versátil e agradável, vai abrindo com uma rosa muito delicada ao passar do tempo.
Marcante, as pessoas reparam e elogiam muito! É o perfume que, sem dúvidas, mais me rende elogios.

Bouquet Bleu

Sometimes you don't have to invent the wheel again to make a great scent and something apparently easy works. This is a simple yet working rose-jasmine-pear combination, a moderate fruitchuli that just works. No wonder it is a crowdpleaser, yet not banal.

BunJovi

I love wearing this to school because it has a very light, energetic, and upbringing scent without distracting people around me or giving me a headache. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it and I like the longevity of it; it doesn’t disappear too quickly but also doesn’t leave my clothes smelling flowery after I wash them. To me it would be better for multiple seasons if the balance between rose and pear was a bit better as it seems more flowery than fruity, but I still reach for it regularly. It reminds me a bit of Myth by Ellis Brooklyn but more feminine.

bleuetfane

I don’t usually like designer fragrances, but this is a really pretty fresh rose with musk and some pear! Nothing original or hard to find elsewhere, but it’s pretty and reliable. It’s not very heavy so it would make a great everyday office scent. Slightly sweeter Rosa Nobile perhaps? Light, inoffensive and fresh. I will definitely use up my sample this summer :)

Rach2star

This perfume reminds me of Just Pink from Next but much better quality and longer lasting.
I would wear this to a special occasion or even to the office.
It's fun and fruity but still very classy

Lalita Marina

I like this perfume more than I thought I would. On me it starts as a sweet, floral, freshly cut white flowers then it becomes deeper and more spicy, like a walk through a forest on a summer night. It lasts-I wore it yesterday and I can still smell it subtle on my skin and hair when waking up this morning. Definitely one to try as it morphs on the skin, so you cannot guess how it will be on you, but I really like it on my skin.

tinkerbell2614

I really hate the opening. As others have said, it’s very screechy. I mainly get rose and pear. However, on the dry down it is a lot more tolerable and morphs into a cleaner muskier scent I like better. It smells exactly like a Ouai perfume; I believe Melrose Place? My husband said I smelled nice when I wore it. When it comes to Lancôme though, I much prefer La Vie Est Belle and Hypnose.

olmgirl

deodorant. that's it

Andy224

Definitely a nice, sophisticated fruity floral scent. There’s a nice and prominent Pear here blended with some floral notes. Even smells like clean laundry. Good longevity too.

Razorbrown

You can wear this, or you can have someone screech in your ear “YOU'RE AT THE MALL!!!!!!” and get the same feeling.

Jscents39

If I could skip the first hour of this perfume I’d like it. It’s way too sharp on the opening for me, but after that hour mark it becomes a fresh but creamy sultry pear/rose. I can see the appeal, but prefer Delina La rosée for a rose scent…though this is for sure more fresh.

Lolodojo

This gives me 1986 Liz Claiborne in the triangle bottle. It is fruity, floral, a little musky. A little artificial smelling.

Queen Kay

This is gorgeous, I feel so pretty when I wear it, such an uplifting scent IMO, I have the dupe form Zara (Peony) so I will not be buying it since the dupe is 100% identical. I got a 5ml sample so that should last me for a couple of months since I don't wear it every day.

TheScentedNotebook

I really enjoy this. People talk about how generic this is but as far as generic perfumes go, this is one of the prettiest I've smelled. I find the pear in this to be juicy, delicious, fresh and grown up. I prefer this type of pear to the more caramely, candied kind you often find in perfumes and I DO love my rose. The citrus and pepper opening is certainly sparking and invigorating but is bordering on "perfumey" and nose-tickly...makes it feel a little unrefined. However, I do think overall, this is a great composition and is VERY long lasting.

The worst part about this is the bottle, IMO, because it can't stand up on its own, it has to lay flat.

Elfin Will

Very soapy clean scent and the musk is a bit artifical smelling. Nice fragrance overall but quickly forgettable. Obviously a Lancôme scent, fitting the rose note in every single perfume they own!

Pat_Chouli

This is an iced rose, maybe a rose cupcake if you will, lovely to me as a rose lover but seems well balanced enough with sweetness and fruit to accomodate even those who normally don't go for rose fragrances, but the rose is definitely there and it's so lovely, fresh, a pink rose fully bloomed! I will say this perfume has that effect of smelling like walking into the fragrance department, kind of a mish mash of various scents distilling into one generic smelling whiff. So it's common smelling but I don't think there's anything wrong with that and it really is nice, maybe even a crowd pleaser especially for Spring.
If you like the rose here, you might want to sample miss dior rose n roses, it has the musk but lots more rose and much less sugar.

_NicoleNonya

If you live in a hot humid climate like Fl where it's not windy outside of a hurricane in the dead of summer, I wouldn't say this is a summer fragrance for high humidity index it will be cloying.
I purchased the set directly from Lancôme during their 30% off sale + the large body lotion. For the dead of summer, the lotion is more than enough.
The reason I purchased this scent is because I liked the oil perfumery version so much, I got a 60 ml bottle of that which I prefer over that signature dry down in whatever the base is Lancôme uses in their perfumes.
Never the less, pear is one of my favorite notes in a perfume. I still adore Pear Glace by VS which is definitely summer/humid friendly.
The only way I can see someone wearing this scent in the dead of summer is if they're sitting in an air conditioned office 1 spritz per wrist (don't rub) 1 in the back of the neck, spritz to the ankle.
A little goes a long way so longevity wise, the scent performs. It's much stronger than Aura or Nectar flankers.
I know already this will perform great late November in Fl.
If you live in arid heat, low humidity, while I think this scent is more spring you can spritz lightly for summer.
I find the lotion alone is more than enough but due to my oil perfumery purchase, I wanted the lotion for layering purposes.
Since I purchased on sale, I do think it's an excellent value. I think this scent would make a great signature office scent which is inoffensive. Just don't over spray in the heat.
Silage always depends on how much one sprays & weather conditions. Good quality.

b.a.denney

I'm really enjoying this in early summer. It's not my normal type scent, I usually wear more gourmand scents, but I have to say there's just something about this. I also usually struggle with rose as a note, and it seems Lancome has managed to make it very wearable, somehow. This is floral and fresh and ultra feminine.

I hate the skinny bottle that wants to tip over. It's a dumb bottle design. It's worth putting up with though because it's a nice fragrance. Ironically, I didn't love it at first, my adult daughter begged me out of it so now I am snitching sprays from it. Shhhh! I'll have to buy another bottle.

Mimithenoynoy

I just love the scent. İt is pretty. It smells like a sweet jam made of rose petals but it does not last as much as I wish. I can feel it on me about 3 hours after applying. If it performed better, I would definetly rebuy. If anybody knows "the similar scent but performing better option" please let me know.

CheriV

I think that this may be my most complimented fragrance to date and it's crazy to me! Because it's so simple and in my opinion, not very remarkable. I definitely enjoy it, but it's been in the "everyday/work fragrance" category for me.

It's bright, feminine, clean but not soapy, elegant, happy. Because I do not swoon over it, it will not be something I reach for very very often. But I just may keep a bottle in my collection as being an easy reach, suitable for all occasion, well loved fragrance.

taisspadotin

It's a great everyday fragrance, you could use it everywhere, it's super feminine and very easy to like.
It last a great time on the skin, but there isn't nothing special on this fragrance it's not groundbreaking, it's nice but not unique

Rosenotes6

I have fallen so deeply in love with Idole! Such a crisp, citrusy rose. The bergamot and pink pepper compliment each other perfectly. Plus the ad campaign with Zendaya is just oh so pretty. This is such a gorgeous fragrance that would work for anyone, a wonderful every day scent. :)

Glamour_Magick3

I love this fragrance! It is beautiful!!!
It is officially a staple/essential/for lifer in my collection.

It makes me feel clean, pretty, and sassy.
It is fresh, rosy, and musky. I do like how the top notes play together and make it a little sparkly and fruity but not too fruity. The pear is just right!
Idk if its spicy with the pink pepper but its more like fizzy from champagne or something..

It has great longevity and projection. People always compliment me!

I like it through all of springs changes. I have not worn it at night and I am not sure if I would wear it in summer but I am sure I could wear it on some days during the summer or at work with AC

Idk if anything is a safe blind buy but this is definitely worth being in every collection!

I am interested in their flankers to possibly get an all year round collection

Evelyn Elizabeth

I like it because I’m a big rose kind of girl but I would not purchase a full bottle. First of all, everyone owns this or has smelled it. It’s generic and not deep. Definitely not worth how expensive it is but I would possibly buy a cheaper dupe of it. On the contrary, it’s a pretty spring and summer scent, it’s not offensive, and it does last a long while on my skin. In the end, I’d say, just buy the dossier dupe

chloeh

Opens very freshly, with the greatest emphasis on the pear. Although, all the listed notes are at the least discernable from the very start.

As it develops it becomes more peppery; perhaps a little too peppery, in fact.

It's slightly salty, too. A well-seasoned rose you could almost eat, if it wasn't for the slight soapiness in the after sniff.

Becomes more and more rosy and soapy, and less peppery, over time.

Also becomes sweeter, presumably as the bergamot wears off and there's a metallic note which develops - it's like a rose in a metal vase.

In fact, it's so rosy they should have called it something with "Rose" in the title.

As someone who likes, but does not love, rose as a note, I wouldn't exactly rush out and buy it, personally, but I do like it and would certainly wear it sometimes if I came into possession of a full bottle.

SleepyTigerLily

This is one of the first perfumes that I've tried and I fell in love with it instantly. Very pretty, young and feminine! Definitely getting a full bottle one day.

Genevieve Gwendolyn

I blind bought this perfume and I did not have great expectations about it .But it surprised me and i fell in love with the first spritz.
It is a beautiful, feminine, classy and a simple fragrance. I do not understand all the hate around this .I constantly hear that this was a plain rose, old lady perfume and I completely disagree. I think it is a young and playful perfume
.Is not the most unique perfume but is a beautiful one .Is a signature scent worthy perfume, easy to wear and first date appropriate scent .I only regret not getting the full size bottle and I can not wait to try the flankers

lanabroz

Summer Compliment Getter!!!

I'm not into designer perfumes even less into floral perfumes, but this one had a magic spell on me and not only on me, because whenever I wear it people stop me to ask me what is it or give me compliments.

It's a fresh, playful, happy scent that will boost your mood.

Rose and Pear are leaders here. Rose gives it joyfulness and pear yumminess.
Notes might be perceived as boring, generic and nothing special, but there's something special about it. I can't quite explain. I guess you must wear it to understand it.

It can be worn by any age, from very young to very mature. It's definitely a spring/summer scent. Longevity and projection are amazing.

Very safe blind buy - safe for the present.

bronni666

Smells like another generic mature ladies Lancôme fragrance.

auds-nose

Will definitely get this after "Ree Ree Love"s comment- I dislike Patchouli with a passion- give me an intense headache - but her comment that this isn't an overpowering note, pleases me- thanks RRL :))

amrin444

MY ULTIMATE FAVORITE PERFUME of all time. My classmate wore this and I was so in love with it. I asked her what it is and she recommended it to me. One day she even sprayed it on me. It’s so gentle, soft, floral, pretty, and one of the best smell I ever inhaled. I can’t believe there’s negative reviews for this. It’s also super long lasting and I was able to smell it even after days.

9112Basbous

EASY TO WEAR PERFUME..BEAUTIFUL AND YOUNG . NOT OVERPOWERING IT IS JUST SIMPLE AND BEAUTIFUL AND FEMENINE. BUT IS IT UNIQUE? NO LANCOME COULD HAVE DONE BETTER FOR THE PRICE.

ayshee_x

It’s like a garden full of roses and pear trees in the rain.
I love the freshness of this perfume. It’s so delicate and classy.
Perfect for everyday wear and not at all offensive, reminds me of expensive shampoo kind of vibe or a shower skin scent.
Could be a safe blind buy especially if you enjoy fresh pear notes.

KiikiKiiki

Always get compliments when I wear this.

ReeReeLove

My best friend gifted this to me for my birthday a few years ago and I INSTANTLY fell in love with this fragrance. I had never smelled it and at that moment I knew that this was a fragrance that I would always have in my collection. It's so light and fresh but also perfumey and sharp in the best ways possible. This is the epitome of a "clean girl" scent. It's beyond clean girl to me. It's squeaky clean. It's so polished and beautiful. It's sophisticated, classy and youthful all at once. I was surprised to see patchouli in the notes because I strongly dislike patchouli unless it's blended well, which this perfume is because my nose doesn't detect it. In my opinion, this is a safe, no offensive, crowd pleasing fragrance.

Icarel

Not bad. Pleasant. Nice. Fresh and Clean. These are the words that come to mind for Idôle. It smells good. The bottle is pretty, especially the shape, which reminds me of an iPhone, and it can be put in any bag. My nose immediately distinguishes the pear, embalmed in rose water on a background of bergamot and jasmine, but it does not have a wow effect to me. Fair value, trendy and safe. Perfect for a gift if you really want to give perfume without faux pas and/or if you want to "just" smell good. It has a clean, fresh, and bright feel to it that makes it a very versatile scent all year round but more for pleasant daytime weather. To me, the Intense and Nectar versions are much better elaborated and of better quality in terms of juice. If you are hesitating about which version of the perfume to choose, go smell the flankers first, but again it's a matter of taste :) If you enjoy and prefer this one, you definitely smell good! In any case, it's a "safe" and modern perfume, you cannot go wrong with it.

Ghadah02

This is so soft floral scent easy to wear and as everyone says it is a safe blind buy unless you don't like soft floral scents.

Mahajaha

Cheap soap scent feels like local rose scented soap.

thaochipnd

I finally found my Signature Scent, the Rose line fragrance of my life! 😍

Lancôme Idôle, YSL Libre are the only two lines that I buy multiple versions to change, and will buy again and again because I love them so much. I had blind buy Idôle Nectar, and now I continue to buy more Idôle OG. Their scent is wonderful, sweet, fresh and luxurious Roses from the most beautiful species of Roses. Idôle OG seems less sweet and elegant than Nectar, so I will use it for everyday. People say that Idôle OG is nothing special, but it is exactly the Signature Scent I was looking for and I absolutely love it! When I wear Idôle, I imagine this is a Pink Rose, like Pink O'Hara or Nahema. One thing is for sure, everyone compliments me, falls in love with me every time I use them.

Rating: 100/10. The scent is like walking through a Rose garden in the rain, so beautiful

suzanne_ronald

MIRACLE CHYPRE. Evoking early morning manna from heaven with dewy, fluffy marshmallow-mist & faint grass, this beauty opens with a burst of dewy pear and nods to Miracle Lancome, that deepens into a rosy heart with marshmallow & jasmine nuances, resting on a vanilla-musk base that has a fluffy, whipped quality. Over time the drydown takes on faint chypre tones, and on the skin I pick up a soft grass note. Slightly above average performance.

Contrast to 5th Avenue NYC Vibe:
These are different, but this is a pretty good approximation of Idole with pear, rose-jasmine & musk-patchouli. Roughly equivalent performance.

Contrast to Miracle Lancome:
These are very different, but the opening of Idole has reminders of Miracle with a dewdrop vibe.

Contrast to J'Adore Dior:
These are different but there are some similarities with dewy pear. Idole has a more fluffy, rosy, whipped quality.

Contrast to Armani Si:
These are very different, but there are some similarites with rosy, whipped chypre. Si has the chypre aspect much more forward, whereas in Idole it's just a chypre whisper.

Overall: With above average performance and a beautiful & versatile scent profile, this is the perfect scent to wear trudging the wilderness. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

taeduri

I am finding that some days I think this is lovely, and other days it is just a tolerable version of La Vie Est Belle. Would not buy a full bottle, in any case.

anjunakerry

I don't reach for this very often but I really should. First time I wore it yesterday and today, In absolute months. In those 2 days I must have received about a dozen and half compliments, Mainly from females. A couple of men. It really is a crowd pleaser. The pear sits at the top and lasts for ages on me, even though its a top note. I do get a lot of rose from this which isn't my favourite note (I know, I know 😞) but I'm not mad at it. Yeah it a beautiful, long lasting, nuclear crowd pleaser. On me at least, According to everyone else as well. I'm glad I have this in my collection.

CatOwned

This is becoming my easiest reach in this cool Spring we have here. The flowers are blossoming, and I am in the mood for floral smells, and this is sweet and uncomplicated. There is nothing offensive here, yet it is not a boring scent to me. I do find it to be a bit light, and not the longest lasting- more of a moderate duration. I don't think there is any place/time/setting you can't wear this, and it is nice to have scents like this that you don't even have to think about it twice before wear.

geminigem

this is just soo pretty to me😍 no, it’s nothing super complex or unique but it just smells so good. it’s bright at the top from the pear with a fresh and slightly sweetened rose that lasts the majority of the fragrance (which is about 5-6 hours on my skin). i actually wore this for my college graduation and this scent made me feel exactly like that: fresh but a little sweet and overall very pretty. i think this is perfect for both special occasions and any time you just want to smell good without thinking too much about it

CynthiaJ

It's like wearing a fresh white t-shirt and you took a shower with rosy/vanilla body washes and lotions. I LOVE this scent its crisp, rosy, sweet and inviting. Is it the most unique scent ever? Nope! but I encourage you to try this one your skin. It is surprisingly long lasting and a very likeable fragrance. My go-to office fragrance!

alternateu

Ooh! I didn't expect to like this, actually.
I don't get much vanilla on my skin, thankfully. But it's a beautiful, classy, "clean" jasmine-rose. Slightly more jasmine than rose to me. Average projection and longevity. Not bad for a designer! Pleasant and classy, and definitely good work-appropriate or even date-night scent.
Generic, yes, but very feminine, classy and pleasant. 7/10.

Sweetstrawberry209

This smell is basic , nothing exciting and you probably smelt it before. But man it smells good , you can’t argue with that. I think this is a safe blind buy, it’s nice and makes people enjoy being around you. You can smell the quality, it doesn’t smell cheap or overly sweet and it lasts pretty good too. This is great for someone who just wants to smell good .. without over complicating it.

Rosiewebber

Back in the 90s, when I was around 5 years old, I had a Barbie perfume that I treasured, in a pink and purple bottle. The first time I smelled Idole, it took me straight back to that perfume that I loved so much.
Actually, I really really like this. Sweet musky roses, juicy pear, and a hint of patchouli. It’s Barbie perfume for grownups, and I’m here for it.

perlarosa

It is good, nice and average scent. Generic and unremarkable. Classic, very soft fresh florals. It is boring to me.. I don't think it will be worth the price. I expected better performance from Lancome it is disappointing.

Anabee

The bottle is pretty cool, really like it and it draws a lot of attention by anyone who visits me, just like the scent. I’m not a rose fan usually, but this rose is modern and different, almost unisex.

Chevybee

In a word rose. I bought the first bottle before they created a stand. I wish that feature was available from the beginning. In the store I enjoyed it but I wish I would have waited before buying. I find when I'm unsure to spray it on then really let dry. If you get home and it still calls to you then buy it. I rushed like a fool and spent way too much on something that is imo way too rose-y. I like rose done certain ways but this ain't it. I finally gave it away recently and I hope she's enjoying it more than I did.

eaudeghostie

I work in an office consisting entirely of three women, including myself, and we're all fragrance girlies. We all like to step outside the box and none of us are afraid of trying the strange and unusual. I've worn anything and everything to the office, from You or Someone Like You to the opposite end of the spectrum like Black Opium Illicit Green, but this gets me the most compliments without a doubt. It's a fresh yet sweet rose scent that dries down and ages into a warm, creamy vanilla. The patchouli is clean, no 'dirty hippie' scent to be found. It lasts decently long, about 5 hours, and has excellent sillage as well. The only thing I hate is the bottle. I knock it over just by looking in my vanity's general direction.

epellapa

Strange with this one.
Stumbled upon the Idole in an airport and disliked it. My wife was curious too and somehow by accident managed to spray it on my jacket sleeve. Didn't think about it... until the next day when I put on the jacket. It smelled so good! The beautiful sweet scent lingered on my sleeve for the next 2 weeks and I was obsessed of sniffing it. That being said, I do agree with someone below that it smells a bit like a high end perfume shop... flatly sweet and a bit characterless, generic, but still very good. Like a wealthy woman that passes you on the street and has that my-life-smells-good air around her...
Then I bought a bottle of Idole. I hate it!!! It's so cheap, irky, headachy (though I'm a headachy person in general). Not this warmly sweet, easy day scent I was going for. All I can smell is plastic and cheap flowers, cheap jasmine, cheap mix of drugstore stuff. Almost against my will I sprayed it on myself hoping it's the drydown on fabric I liked so much. 5 hours later - still terrible. Wife agrees that it's not pleasant.
Suddenly an hour later - my wife suddenly says that I smell amazing. I smell my wrist - and there it is again!
Soo, I don't know. If I have to go through 6 hours of headache to get a sweet, unsurprising, somewhat unspecial scent, then it will be a pass. I will play with it more, but I'm glad I bought only 30ml.

Dori002

I don't understand why this perfume gets so much hate.
This is a very beautifully made rose perfume; sweet, feminine, pretty, modern and clean. It's a crowd pleaser, there is nothing that's not to like in this one. It's inoffensive, office safe and good for those, who just have started their journey with fragrances or those who just want to smell nice and put together.
ppl say it's generic. Actually, I rather purchase a well-made generic perfume, than some other niche wannabe. I'm more disappointed if a bunch of incompatible notes are just thrown together and it ends up smelling like a mess.
Also, you can wear a generic perfume anywhere without offending anyone.
Yup, perfume prices are insane these days, (and Lancome isn't the only brand who sells their products at an insane price), but you can always wait for a good discount. ;)

Lykopa

Absolutely gorgeous. It’s a wonderful crowd pleasing pear rose with musk and i touch of powder to it. I smell this every time i go perfume shopping so it reminds me of that - a very happy memory indeed. It’s a very perfume-y perfume, and doesn’t work as well on my personal skin chemistry as it does on clothes/paper, but that’s okay.

unrealgirl

its okay, quiete a generic scent and not too overwhelming. i also smell a honey note in this!

happybeany

This one really didn’t work on my skin or with my own smell. I hate the way it smells - overly sweet, too much floral stuff going on, like it can’t decide what it wants to be. I really didn’t like it, and I regret buying a big bottle.

Melis.t

Idole opens up with juicy, bright pear and luminious bergamot and dries down into musky rose with vanilla. I love the sparkling quality of this fragrance, it's like a glass of rosée. To my nose this is not dusty or vintage type of rose. I also tried intense version which is more warmer and woody version of og, I found it more mature and it reminded me of fabric softener. If you like clean, sparkling rose fragrance just get the og.

silverlocusts

The banana-ish essence that people are smelling is probably what smells like smashed pear-scented play-doh to me. I can see how they'd be interpreted similarly. I love roses and rose with musk is something I'm very interested in exploring more, so imagine my delight when I was gifted a full bottle of Idole. From the outside it seems like it will be an effervescent, sparkling rose with the right balance of freshness and sweetness. Not quite a skin scent, but rather a fine translucent silk scarf of a scent--there enough to make a statement, but not screaming and stomping and demanding attention. If it wasn't for the freaking Laffy Taffy accord, this would be just that. Instead, it is all joke and no punchline, because the gross creamy fake fruit monstrosity of a note just sits there muting everything else out to the point that I would have to scrub it off. In the bottle and on paper it smells damn near perfect for a feminine, soft, everyday kind of rosey scent, but with the warmth of skin it just turns straight narsty. A lot of perfumes disappoint me so I am not actively holding a grudge, but I really do not think I can bring myself to smell any of Idole's flankers because of how bad my experience was with the original. Rose perfumes are a dime a dozen, so it is what it is. Someday I will learn to expect less, because those times are when I actually find things I fall deeply in love with.

MareaCamacho

I have a sample of this when I bought my beloved Idole Nectar.

This one smells like the older sister of Idole Nectar.
Very classy, office type but likes to strip for her lover type of fragrance.

Something sensual yet innocent. Fresh yet dusty. generic but in a good way. Definitely smells like the perfume section of a macys like what another commenter said lol.

I ain't mad at it tho.

Sniffathon

Although it’s a completely generic and easy to wear designer fragrance, I still think it is very pretty. Fresh and fruity floral, not overly rosey or jasminey, just somewhere in the middle. Dry down smells cheap but this is typical of designer fragrances to my nose.

KindaQuirkee

Oh boy, okay. I LIKE this because it smells like classic perfume. HOWEVER, despite smelling good, my boyfriend gave me a hug and said "Don't take this the wrong way, but you smell like a Macy's." He is exactly right. This has some high-key department store vibes, like a combination of every perfume sprayed in that area. I can't keep this as a personal scent just because it's so, so generic. But boy, do they know how to make pleasant, inoffensive lovely scents.

chimidoro

As far as recent releases go, I usually turn my nose up. But I took to this one quite readily once my nose became accustomed to it.
It lasts pretty well and smells exactly of what it claims to - rose, pear, musk. Albeit candied, due to all that fruitiness.

It really puts me in mind if Valentino's Rock n Rose. They're not the same, far from it, but they smell like they're from the same scent family. That was discontinued long ago and it had zero lasting power (on me). So I really like this as an alternative.
There's also a definite hint of Lancome's (erm... Sorry, GUERLAIN's) Idylle here and there in this particular rose and musk combo. But it's a modernized take.

It's upbeat and casual but packs a punch and smells vibrant and youthful without smelling too young or juvenile (to my nose).
Sure, I find that it has aspects of burning, melting plastic, wax, fabric cleanser, but I still find it pleasant to wear nonetheless.

The mix of pear and musk carries a certain element though that I'm concerned has potential to "turn" when left to sit too long. So probably best to use it and abuse it rather than save it for long term, sporadic usage.

heather62

Beautiful. Smells so much like You’re the One to me.

Anfissa

I really loved this perfume when last I tried it. It’s such a beautiful fresh citrusy rose. Lovely, uplifting and easy to wear, especially in the Spring and summertime. But really it’s the bottle design that really stops me from purchasing it. I know it’s very cool, modern and looks like an IPhone. But why would I need my perfume to remind me of my cellphone? I am certainly hooked on my phone, and who isn’t these days. And it’s definitely a source of work, anxiety and all kinds of social obligations. But I really would love it if my perfume was the thing of beauty that actually took me away from that highly annoying square shaped computer dominated cycle. I am looking for a dupe that isn’t shaped like my cellphone cell.

AndreeaM95

This was the first perfume that got a person across the room to come to me and ask me what I'm wearing(it took like 2-3 sprays on my neck). It's feminine, classy, not too sweet, not too overpowering. Whenever I wear it I get compliments. One of my favs!

saho93

Yes, it is simple, quite sweet, but I really like it. Sometimes an overly complex can have a single note that just ruins it for someone. Looking at the notes, I have liked perfumes that have pear in it, though I never smell pear in them. That note must make the perfume more rounded, gentle. Though I have no idea.

Update: 06/02/2023. I have sprayed about a dozen more times since my initial review. I kinda like it, closer to ok, but not “really like it” anymore. I think I got tired of it even though this was only one of dozens of perfumes I have sprayed in the past several months. Maybe it’s patchouli that does not come off well for me anymore. I am not sure. In any case, not my preference.

Maryariah

Smells amazing

beta-ionone

Maybe I got a different one to test out but this is totally different from what I remember. I smelled it on a magazine adhesive sample and it was okay and then I went to the store and it smells totally different -- like a banana milkshake. Love this! I might have to get a bottle. I don't think it's a safe blind buy but I recommend you try it. Maybe it was a flanker I smelled? How am I picking up banana?

Edit: I saw another commenter mentioned smelling banana so maybe there's a chemical we are interpreting differently.

PLANT_POT_HEAD

The first 15 minutes this perfume is 'in your face' which I believe is the bergamot and pink pepper combo and it smells super generic then. After an hour it reminds of a typical 'old lady perfume' with a sickening vibe. Then about 2,5 hours after the initial spray the smell is almost creamy and super gentle. Don't get me wrong, this fragrance is inoffensive and sweet, something you can wear in the summer or to the office, but it didn't leave any impression on me at all and something feels off when I wear it. Definitely prefer Idole Aura to this one.

Absolutely gorgeous! Honestly on of my favourite perfumes of all time, and certainly my favourite designer perfume, that’s for sure! I find this to be the perfect balance of juicy pear, natural sweetness and delicate floral.
For the life of me I for some reason hated this when I first sampled it, but a few months later, I received another sample in a Sephora gift bag that I gave my mother. Next thing you know, she’s passing by my and I smell the most heavenly aroma I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing- because it was truly an experience. When she said it was Idole I swear I thought she was mistaken. Then I ended up trying it once more, and there it was; heaven!
This is totally different when worn on the skin than smelt on a strip.
I even think this perfume is the one that I’m guaranteed getting compliments on every time it’s worn (legitimately I have had women and men alike asking me what I was wearing because I smelt amazing), and that is saying a lot given that I own people pleaser scents such as La Vie Est Belle.
Now here I am 10 months later using up my 50ml with two full sized 100ml backups at the ready because I love it so much😂
All these fragrantica comments make me want to avoid every perfume, and if I listened to any of them I wouldn’t have found my favourites. Just goes to show, you really should put to much, if any value into other peoples opinions on fragrance.
This is truly a gem!
Ps, for anyone’s reference I’m in my early twenties, but could very much see a woman of any age wearing this scent.

I smelled this in Ulta and fell in love immediately. I bought the gift set as soon as I got home. This was the first rose perfume that I added to my collection. But then…I was introduced to niche/complex fragrances. I think you know where this is going. I haven’t really reached for this much since now that I have better rose/floral scents. However, it is not a bad scent at all. It’s pretty, soft, and I think it has something extra that makes it a little more than basic. The pear adds some juiciness in the opening and it drys down with the musk, cedar wood and vanilla. It’s definitely office safe, day time, great for warm months. The longevity/projection/sillage is decent. You will need to top it off after about 5 hours. I bought it at a steal…the 3.4oz bottle, hand lotion, travel size and the stand to prop it up was $100 on Lancôme’s website (it’s still there but it’s sold out right now) so I would keep checking there if you’re interested in buying Idole.

I just finished a 50ml bottle, I'm not going to repurchase this one but I am going to pick up the idole nectar one I may go back to this one another time but for now in my collection I need the popcorn note 🤩

I have aproxx 200 plus fragrances in my collection this one is the only one my husband make compliment to. He say I should wear this one if I want sex without say I want sex. Hahah is a good one lol.

I get the same dusty scent the reviewer down below mentioned. Something on this is not right to my nose. Something smells like plastic mixed with dust on the first spray, and I am not sure where this is coming from, but I hate it. It makes me nauseous. And I feel sad because I am obsessed with rose perfumes, and I really had high expectations for this one, but this ain't it.

Just bought a decant because I don't have any Lancome store near my house. The 1st time I sprayed this... I immidiately remember Mademoiselle Ricci by Nina Ricci.
Actually Mademoiselle Ricci is a Floral Woody Musk and Idole is a Chypre Floral based on Fragrantica, but their opening and dry down are almost similar to each other (at least for me).
Both of them have a very strong sweet rose note with a hint of pink pepper, but Mademoiselle Ricci is on a creamier side and Idole is more on fresh side. That actually make sense because Mademoiselle Ricci has raspberry, violet, and amber notes which make it creamier. At the other hand Idole has pear, bergamot, and patchouli notes which make it fresher.
Mademoiselle Ricci gives me a softie mature woman vibes, I could feel my mom's hug while wearing it. Idole gives me a workaholic but elegant and feminime woman.

The longevity of Idole is quite bad if you are living in a kinda hot or tropical area. It lasts 5 hours on my clothes and around 3 hours on my skin. It makes me feel disappointed because Tresor and LVEB are very strong and long lasting.

So personally I will go with Mademoiselle Ricci rather than Idole because I love a musky and creamy notes more than a fresh citrusy notes. Besides that the longevity is a no for me, not worth with that pricetag. Mademoiselle Ricci is more long lasting with a half price.

But overall, this is not a bad scent. It is good but doesn't impress me that much like Tresor or LVEB (even though LVEB is not my type of fragrance).

Nothing special. A scent that has been done before, in cheaper bottles and lesser-known names. A truly insignificant scent

Fresh, fruity rose. Smells super similar to Nest Wild Poppy. I think it’s nice but my mom didn’t like it so much when I first tried it. It dries down a little tart so it’s probably just my skin chemistry + the cold weather. I still quite enjoy it and will keep my decant of this, but I want to test it out in warmer weather.

Not much to say about this one. Very generic rose and musk fragrance. A safe option for a corporate office job.

On me the most prominent note after a few minutes is the pear. I do enjoy that - it's juicy and sweet, without being cloying. Accompanied by a bit of vanilla. The jasmine is very, very light, the rose only seems to be there to enhance the pear. It lasts a couple of hours like that then starts to fade slowly.

While testing I got a few compliments. To me this is a relatively light, juicy perfume for the day that has an energetic and fresh vibe to it without going aromatic or sea water. It reminds me of warm summer days.

It really doesn't get more generic than this perfume. I don't mind perfumes with some mass-appealing DNA, but this perfume has no identity of its own to me. Sure, it's pleasant I suppose, but when I smell it I feel like I'm walking through the fragrance section in Macy's during the holidays when everyone is spraying in the air to test out perfumes. It's just a very strong floral, and I personally find it a bit cloying. When I wear florals, I like them either to be light and refreshing, or sweet and creamy. This does not fit either, it's just a very heavy floral and I don't enjoy wearing it very much. I like scents that I feel like become a part of me, but with these types of fragrances, I just feel like they sit atop my skin and surround me with strong florals that get a tad sickening.
