Poeme by Lancôme is a Floral fragrance for women. Poeme was launched in 1995. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Cavallier. Top notes are Narcissus, Datura, Peach, Plum, Himalayan Poppy, Mandarin Orange, Black Currant, Bergamot and Green Notes; middle notes are Mimosa, Vanilla Flower, Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Freesia, Heliotrope, Rose and Leather; base notes are Vanilla, Orange Blossom, Amber, Tonka Bean, Musk and Cedar.

Classic floral oriental fragrance launched in 1995. The structure of Poeme is original, does not follow classic structure of top, middle and base notes. The notes of the composition are appearing alternately, like echo. The composition features intoxicating Himalayan blue poppy, white and yellow flowers (mimosa, rose, freesia...) and vanilla flower. Poeme is a poem in the world of perfumes; the contrasts of bitter and sweet create a special sensual aura. The bottle with this miraculous bitter honey is a synthesis of the contrasts – attractive curves and straight lines.

I like it but on my skin it's very weak. Slightly sweet, dark, warm and powdery. It's not stunning and very unique i have smelled this many times before. Indeed the Marquis is in the same line but that fragrance is strong on my skin. Poeme turns into a skin scent right away with my body chemistry. So i finish my bottle but for me not worth to buy again. 😊

This is such a confusing Poême, and I vacillate between loving it and wanting to scrub it off my skin and throwing away my travel sprayer so I'm never tempted to try it again. Why is it so weird? Do I just have a lousy formulation, or was it always this weird? There are so many notes, from a strident tuberose to a pillowy mimosa to something that reminds me for all the world of chlorine bleach. It's nicer after it settles down a bit, but I still think this one might be needlessly busy. Perhaps I'll change my mind, though; I do love the concept and name.

Parfluive

This is the most beautiful perfume in the world to me.

A beauty. 🌼🏵🌻
Truly sunshine in a bottle.☀️
Warm, gentle but very strong, comforting.

Like smelling a fresh bouquet of golden yellow flowers that have been in the sun all day.

There's a well known white flowery creamyness to it.
And the vanilla is blended so seamless into all of it. Absolutely not overwhelming the flowerbouquet.

Amber, tonka and musk provide the rest of a sort of soft pungeant warmth with their specific notes in that direction, aiding the flowers with maintaining their scent for the entire scentjourney while giving their warmth straight from the beginning.

What a beautiful, uplifting scent.

It completely reminds me of the 90's in the best possible way ☀️

Perhaps Ambree by A. Guichard (for Narciso Rodriguez) leans a tiiiiiny bit close. But the lasting power of Poême on skin is very strong, even after 1 spray.
Edit: i compared the two and they actually are nearly identical.
But Ambree doesn't have Poême's lasting power, both on skin or fabric. And they both have a different drydown. The similarity in scent is mostly there when smelling the bottle's vaporizer.

Merci. Monsieur J. Cavallier 💛
And Lancôme, for not yet discontinuing this beautiful artwork that lifts the spirits 💛

Edit: i read in the reviews that some find this a dated scent. Not that i want to argue with someone's personal experience of a scent, but no. No absolutely no. This is soo far from being a dated scent. Nothing stuffy or old about this. It's actually soo fresh but in a honeydew warm and creamy way. So sexy and safe at the same time.

This is a very complicated perfume. It takes right time right situation temperature body chemistry i.e to bloom.
Upon first spray I wasn't impressed or disappointed either. The powerful floral peach vanilla concoction is a masterpiece. Initially it convinced me of how amazing art it is! But love came later!
It was during fall, I was working ass off at office, jogging every morning, eating comfort foods with mild spices, and I was in my best shape. A friendship was blooming into romance! I decided to put it on and I have no words to explain how it felt!
It took me to a place where faitytales happen!
Ahhh! I would drown my nose at evening into my daytime clothes after changing into pyjamas. It smelled so damn great I couldn't get enough of it!

later in similar weather I tried get back that time, it just didn't happen. It still is a great scent but no magic!

I came to conclusion, I can't sweat or eat too much spicy foods while wearing this. Probably has something to do with body chemistry, it smells great after on freshly showered skin heavy working out and definitely the temperature must be not too cold or hot!

such a tantrums queen she is! But she deserves better it, right?

MrsyelgnaL

Very interesting fragrance. I like it but don't love it. It has this tortilla chip note that reminds me of Tom Ford orchid soliel. I do like Peom better. More floral and enjoyable imho.
After some time, testing her out, the dry down reminds me very much of Tresor in that it starts sharp-spicy,floral, bitter fruit with a creamy note. Then drys down to a vanilla amber. I love Trevor and do like Poem. That chip note just isn't my preference. I bet it would layer well with chopard Casimir

I question if this has actually been discontinued, as the rumor reappears annually around this time. Lancome seems to do one run a year, in time for the Christmas sales season. I hope that's the case. Until I find out more, I'll continue to use my cherished bottled sunshine most sparingly.

asimpleperfumelover

Like a poem, indeed. This smells like you're lying in a field of yellow flowers, their sun-kissed honeyed aroma being sent straight to your nose by a warm, gentle wind. Superb.

Saveria

Poême, it bears its name so well... Because this perfume is truly a poem to the glory of white and yellow flowers, orange blossom, peach, plum and vanilla. It may seem like a lot but it's so well done that everything fits together perfectly.

My mother used to wear it and the "sunny floral" memory I have of it is not wrong at all since I had the chance to smell it in a perfume store recently (there were two boxes left).

It is often compared to Amarige and it is true that they are similar but Poême has this subtle note of leather which gives it a different dimension, a little more sensual and warm. Very noticeable at first, it then mixes skillfully with the other notes to create a luminous, warm and carnal whole.

How I love Poem. Too bad it was discontinued.

Printeza7

I never get bored of this, vintage but still modern, special and so unique. I will always treasure it ♥️

wendyyparty

This perfume is pretty and lift up my mood in a warm, positive light.

Sunshine in a bottle, sensual and rich. Mimosa, narcissus and orange blossom with amber and vanilla. Such a beautiful feminine perfume. Out of all of my perfumes, this is the one by far that gets the most compliments.
I can recall this being released in 1995 with Lancôme using Juliette Binoche as the face of Poeme. Juliette had just starred in Three Colours Blue, before going on to star in The English Patient.
I love everything about this perfume including the rich yellow and royal blue packaging (very 90’s) and the striking yet refined bottle.
There’s nothing 90’s or dated about this perfume however.
Sadly, current versions have been reformulated as many other reviewers have stated, resulting in far less staying power. The scent is thankfully still the same.
Unfortunately it has also been discontinued although it can be found on eBay.
I’m gutted that Lancôme discontinued it as it has been one of my signature perfumes for close to 30 years.
For those who love it and are similarly dismayed at Poeme being discontinued, I do recommend Safanad by Parfums De Marly. Not exactly the same but very similar.

wondervalley666

First test of a brand new bottle of the newest formulation purchased directly from a major US authorized distributor - This is gorgeous. I'd keep it in my collection forever if I could. It's rich and smells expensive. I basically read it as "purely floral." Yes, there are many other notes, but it's predominantly floral with a sweet floral slightly clean musky base. Maybe a small touch of woods. It's realistic. It's yellow. It does remind me of Amarige by Givenchy, which was more "white floral" leaning but has some similar yellow facets as Poeme. Also get tiny doses of Fracas occasionally. I'm a tuberose junkie and collect every realistic tuberose-y white floral I can afford. This is probably the most gorgeous yellow floral I've ever smelled. I'd keep it in the same category as my tuberose perfumes, even though I this isn't a tuberose scent. It's just so fresh, realistic, and beautiful.

Update: after subsequent wearings I’m afraid I need to agree with the other reviewers that the newest formulations have very little lasting power or projection. They open heavily but begin rapidly fading after 20 minutes. I need to heavily spray all over and keep spraying to get this to last. I let my bottle settle for a month. No improvement yet. I sprayed 20 sprays into my cotton sweater that holds fragrance forever, then changed my mind about the days plans and took it off and showered. 3 hours after applying, I pulled the sweater out of the hamper and can only smell Poeme when I shove my nose in the sweater and sniff hard. I can barely detect it, only maybe 2 notes remain… I have no issue smelling my other perfumes on my other dirty clothes that were worn days up to a week ago. Wow, honestly shocking how poor the longevity is. Honestly considering returning this.

I can’t seem to find any reasonably priced vintage full bottles left. I mostly find eBay sellers claiming their bottle is vintage but batch code shows it was made 6 -8 years ago. What a pity. I will still enjoy this bottle, but it makes me sad now where when I first tested it made me so happy. My opinion of Lancôme has dropped even lower now. I have tried many of their current scents on the market and only really like 2, and only like 1 enough to own. The others are obviously dead from reformulation with expensive prices and no lasting power, or just blends that I’m really not into for one reason or another. I’m a sucker for perfume and will generally like most scents I try. Something needs to be drowning in off putting notes, more expensive than a mortgage payment, or have zero ability to perform for me to dislike it. It’s rare that I LOVE something. I LOVE the way Poeme smells. I hate the way it performs now. I guess it doesn’t matter as she’s being cancelled, probably due to poor sales of the newest short-lived formulation & corporate sales goals assuming this scent wasn’t selling enough, failing to foresee the upcoming trend of Gen Z and Millenials who are starting to seek out more vintage classic scents. Poeme is such a better scent than everything else Lancôme makes, how could they do this to her? 😩

Lancôme Poême.

I absolutely love this. Mimosa wrapped in such beautiful notes. A serenade of yellow and white flowers , so powdery and not soapy. Perfect for spring and summer, but can be worn all year around. Usually I don’t like Lancōme perfumes as I find them to smell synthetic, but Poeme is wonderful.

Magnapinna

I've already written a review but I just remembered funny-ish/cute thing that happened one day when I was wearing this some 6-7 months ago maybe.

I used to take app car rides to get to the metro for my old job. One of those days I got in the car and about 2 minutes in, the driver, a full-on older señor here in Mexico asks me what I'm wearing.

I tell him (gatekeeping is silly, girlies!) and he starts gushing about it and how it totally kicked his cologne he was wearing's butt lmao. Since he didn't appear to be familiar with it he asks me again a couple times for the name to remember it, what the bottle looks like, and where he can buy it.

At this point I believe I have to mention that it is a "women's" fragrance. I am male and I wear it, and I don't believe in tying scent to gender more than as a very broad descriptor, despite this, I know that men in his age group and here in Mx can be weird about that kind of thing. But he wasn't he actually was like who cares, it's good!

Before I left he asked once again, name and bottle colour. I wish I could've written it down for him lol! I have thought about it from time to time, wish Icould ask him if he did wind up getting it and if he enjoyed it. That's all!

Shirley-Jane

My favourite perfume of all time. It's magnificent!
I was gifted my first bottle when it launched and I've never gone without it since. It is powerfully evocative and still, after all of these years, it remains relevant and original.
When I wear it, I am always complimented and asked what it is. Definitely my signature scent!
Best of all, it dries down to an amazing super-clean scent, like no other. I adore it.
My best friend used to steal it from me, as if I'd not notice. Well I bloody did and felt super protective of MY fragrance.10/10 for innovation, luxury and longevity.
I have nothing negative to say about this perfume ❤️

plandoktor

It was 2019 and my family took me to amsterdam for my 18th birthday. I wasn't into fragrances nor had a distinctive nose about notes, but since I sprayed this on my wrist, I couldn't help but put my arm around my face just to get a smell of this- not that it needed to be close for me to get the smell, its sillage is enormous. On the second day I was convinced this was going to be my signature scent even at that age. Whenever I wear this it never ceased to amaze me and I get tons of compliments. Two of my biggest fears are that this perfume being discovered by bigger community and this perfume being discontinued :D. Poeme for me means a lot, like something that made just for me and is a secret I keep for myself. Absolutely adore this perfume and the memories it brings to me...

MonicaCloud

What a gorgeous burst of sunshine! Honeyed mimosa on a bed of sweet peaches and creamy white florals. Perfect harmony between powdery and succulent notes. Class act; delicious through and through.

JBuffett

Pro tip: if a fragrance isn't to your taste, just say so. Don't write kong screeching posts about how it stinks and you hate it unless you actually want to look like an ignoramus.

Poeme is a classic, beautiful yellow floral scent that lasts and lasts.

Perfume_junkie_UK

RIP my beloved Poeme.
This has been my signature scent since I discovered it 8 years ago.

If anyone knows where I can still buy it (UK based) or if there are any perfumes like this, please let me know.

BikiniSoTeeny

Thiccc yellow and white floral petals coated in honey, bit dusty fom that thicknes but not at all powdery. "Sous le soleil" energy, and the projection is wild.

Fenissa

This old gal remembers when Poeme was launched.
Back then, it was all about the blue Himalayan poppy note.
This is why the interior of the packaging box is blue.
It was a very successful advertising campaign, and I like to think the marketing people at Tom Ford drew inspiration from this fantasy note advertising ploy for Black Orchid.
Poeme is a rare beauty. A yellow floral that's very wearable even for people who don't particularly enjoy yellow florals.
It's as beautiful to wear in Winter as in Spring or Fall, but might be a little too heady for Summer wear.
That said, it is full of sunshine and I find it joyful, especially in the dark and grim days of Winter.
I also think despite being a 90s perfume it doesn't smell dated. I get many compliments when I wear this, even from one of my daughters who only enjoys one or two perfumes.
Silage is strong and longevity is fantastic, especially for a mainstream designer house. I get around 12 hours of wear from one application. The bottle is also beautiful with its elegant gold lid.

brandiwine1980

This is nice, not my favorite vintage, but I like it and see why others do too. There may be a little too much tuberose for my liking. I mostly pick up that along with mimosa, fruits, amber and vanilla. I really don’t smell peach, not surprised I only seem to smell peach in more modern, light fruity florals. Do peach notes tend to age and disappear? There are perfumes with tuberose that I can’t stand, but this is well done. I feel like my mom would’ve enjoyed this while she was alive. That makes sense she loved Amarige. Though I may never buy a full bottle, I will cherish this poetic vintage while it lasts.
Edit: This has really grown on me to the point where I crave it! And today I smell the peach! It’s unique, I’d classify it as an amber yellow floral. What sets it apart is, in most ambers you can hardly detect the flowers, but in this I can smell the tuberose, jasmine and narcissus. Poeme is a beast! I sprayed 2 sprays and I am still getting wafts of it 12 hours later. I do have a vintage bottle, though. For such a strong fragrance, it does not agitate my allergies so that’s a plus, but I could see others being sensitive to it so use with caution! It really is a masterpiece and I better get a bigger bottle before it gets more rare and expensive.

Sabina8019

Timeless beauty, liquid gold and a sunshine in a bottle that I always need in my collection. I got so spooked by the rumors of Poeme being discontinued, that I bought few backups... Phew...

Anastuki

Gave this to my mother, suits her well but florals are not for me I believe. I need something heavier, amber, gourmand, Arabic even, but not perfumes like Poeme. Just a meh for me. I don't get any vanilla in this one. Just florals. Sillage and longevity are great though.

rene.saller

I haven't rated it yet, aside from noting its phenomenal strength and longevity, because I can't make up my mind about Poème. Much like poetry, the more singular it is, the more likely it is to polarize. I got curious about Poème after reading a bunch of wildly disparate reviews, so I bought a purse-spray decant. Right away I could I understand why it is so polarizing. So far I have just done a paper test, and sometimes it smells like chlorine mixed with cat pee and tuberose, and sometimes it smells like chyrsanthemums and a bunch of yellow florals, and sometimes it smells like a sharp and soapy-spicy dessert.

Poème is one crazy mess of a perfume. The strength and longevity are insane, if the results of my test strip are indicative of its power on skin. Obviously, if you find the odor objectionable, it's not much of a bargain, and its tenacity might even be a drawback. As it happens, I'm almost afraid to do a skin test myself because if it's anything like what I smell on paper, I'm not sure I could bear it. It's weirdly minty, and there's a pronounced tuberose note. Imagine if someone just brushed her teeth with vanilla-mint toothpaste before leaping into a chlorinated hotel swimming pool surrounded by hanging planters full of tuberose and jasmine. A waiter walks by with a bunch of carnations and a tray laden with rice pudding. It's not technically unpleasant, but you might not want to smell like that all day and all night and until your next shower and maybe even after that.

IVamp

Now we are talking...my dearest favorite floral bomb of all time! The name says it all, really - it is indeed a poem, a masterpiece. A very complex blend with not even one bad or sharp note. It's intensely flowery but not in an airy way, it is rich, opulent, creamy thick. Radiating mature gold-light feminine energy with noble grace. Sweet, but not like a dessert, more like a nectar. Noticeable and unique but not overpowering. Extremely sensual. I can't love it more, it's one of the most addictive scents I have ever felt in my life. Top-notch performance with excellent sillage and longevity. I am so sad that they ruined this one and watered it down, and even the new version is now nearly impossible to find where I live. Luckily I have at least found a decent dupe. If you can get your hands on the original vintage one, do so, it's worth every cent.

Fluffyandpuffy

I will always love this big beautiful floral fruity scent. They made a great one here. Performance is outstanding. Smells so beautiful. Forevermore Poeme.

Magnapinna

Well, as a true classic, there's very little i could say that has not been said before about Poeme.

This is a wonderful greeny, powdery yellow floral. I mainly get narcissus, mimosa, ylang and greenery. Can't make out any of the fruit nor vanilla really. Timeless, elegant, but not pretentious.

The newer formulations are kind of trash though, I have victoria's secret body mists that last longer. I had the opportunity to spray on the tester several times at my old retail job just by batting my lashes at my lancome coworker. Fabulous, but couldn't smell it after an hour.

The current status of this perfume is very confusing. Lancome themselves issued a statement saying it had been discontinued from production in 2021. Yet in my country important retailers and department stores still carry it, as a matter of fact I just went into my country's official Lancome website and there it is, added it to my cart just to test and all green lights...
Not really sure what's up with that. With the rather vocal social media outcry for them to bring it back and not discontinue it i would assume that even older batches would be gone from these channels, right? Perhaps they listened to these people back in 2021 and they started to produce them again, without making much of an announcement?

At any rate you're better off safari hunting for a vintage piece. I will confess that while i've owned the real deal, what I currently have as "Poeme" is an inspiration, which smells virtually the same but lasts SO much longer that my pal's modern tester at the store.

This is the kind of perfume that a lot of starbucks-fueled, platinum-highlights-on-brown-hair hunnies that are pushing 40 will call "old lady smell", "granny smell", etc, without realizing the mysogynistic, ageist, and frankly weird connotations that has.
You can chalk all of those comments to being brought up on pink sugar, dkny be delicious and kayali though, this is a solid, yellow floral gem that has no age. I was born in 1998 and I love it.

I think this sentiment is adscribed to any perfume that's sufficiently heady; and yellow and white florals are thus often caught in that fire. Poeme is heady alright. In a somewhat similar vein to Paloma Piccasso's eponymous, but replace the hyacinth there for narcissus, and not nearly as boozy.

I personally don't find any other perfume from Lancome as tantalizing as Poeme. La vie est belle and most flankers make me dizzy with this raisiny, dry fruit or figgy element I get. La nuit tresor charmed me when i first smelled it, but i took a u-turn as soon as i actually wore it. hypnose, Ö, forgettable to me, frankly...

Many people will hate Poeme, Luca Turin hates Poeme, I hear. I will wear it either way.

Emaree

I've been wearing this for 20 years and while I'll always try a new fragrance out once in a while, this is truly my trusted LBD. I've never received as many compliments as I've had with this scent, and the drydown smells as effortless as sundown. For me, the standout note is jasmine, followed by amber and tonka. I know that skin chemistry plays a big part, but make no mistake, I'll still have this as a go to in my cabinet for decades to come.

Divine nectar of the Gods…..

Where can I start with this masterpiece it’s a Classy, Sweet, Uplifting, Happy, Confident, Beautiful, Sensual, Powerful fragrance, gives me a boost of confidence and happiness when I wear it. I remember in middle school my grandma having a mini bottle of this, must’ve been gifted to her but she wasn’t a fan of this so she barely used it, she would have it sitting in her vanity closet and every time I would go near the dresser the smell of this scent would project vividly, as a child it reminded me of honey buttered jellybeans with bubblegum in sunshine and flowers, still gives me the same feeling I felt as a child. I’ve read reviews about this not being suitable for warm weather but IMO I’ve worn it daytime warm weather with 2 spritz and felt like a very luxurious sun tan lotion scent if it goes with your body chemistry you can wear this year round, I always get stopped and get asked what fragrance I’m wearing, from young to mature, men and women will compliment me.
This has strong performance, great projection, Definitely not a blind buy, NOT FOR EVERYONE but if It works for you then it must be worn well and cherished
I feel like it may have been reformulated to todays standard, lacks the enormous power from before but still very strong, this fragrance is something magical, divine, the nectar of the gods. Lancôme please do not discontinue this I only have one bottle left and am holding on to it very tightly, would love the pure perfume in this as I’ve seen before and wished I owned.

I unfairly tried one spray of this in AUGUST when it was record-shatteringly hot and I hated it immediately. Now that it’s cool out I begrudgingly gave it another shot and I am pleasantly surprised by how wrong I was. Yes, if I put my nose to my wrist it is still an overwhelming photo-realistic waxy, pollleny floral, but that isn’t how perfume is meant to be experienced is it?
The occasional breezy wafts I’m getting are soooo much nicer, I’m picking up the freesia and even a little rose rather than getting up close clobbered by the narcissus and mimosa.
My initial judgement this summer was that this scent felt like I was walking around with a week old grocery store Mother’s Day bouquet strapped to my face. Now that it’s appropriate weather I find this scent to be totally wearable; a sunny, kind, inviting sort of floral.

Fonna2

Just remember for all you Perfume Connoisseurs out there,...this perfume is potent.... in the best way ... and should (should , that is) worn in cooler weather. Indeed, anything below 55 degrees is perfect. One spritz is all you'll ever need, all day or all night!!
If the weather is 60F or above, of course you can where it, but personally I would go extremely light.
Just imagine being dipped in honey, rolled around in mimosa flowers, and baking in the sun on the beach.
Wearing this now in Oct, where we have a nice cold , unusual 47 degrees, and right away I said "it is TIME".
It's warm, sexy, and fills my whole backyard as I sit near the fireplace
....it is absolute Heaven.

Noseycreature

Smells like smokey honey.
A cozy tea shop run by a witch but also a bit sexy.
On me it smells soft, warm and inviting.
Not too mature or overpowering, I have worn it since I was quite young.
But I can see some people hating it, especially if it doesn't suit their natural skin smell.

supergirl9412

I’ve been waiting and hoping for this to come back in stock on the Lancôme site, and when it finally did, I managed to pick it up before it sold out. (BTW, at the time of this posting, it’s still available!)

I really enjoyed it at first, but one spray haunted me for the 20 minutes it was on my skin .. After that, I had to scrub it. The blend of notes made this feel like mimosa mixed with a sweet vanilla cream soda concentrate. It’s not a bad scent, but it is suffocatingly, nauseatingly sweet. (And I love sweet perfumes! But I tend to gravitate toward sweet gourmands … maybe I can’t handle weighty, sweet florals like this? Hmm.. ) It’s just very annoying to my nose, so, unfortunately, I’ll be returning it.

Even though this is not the scent for me, I certainly see where this is a cherished perfume in collections, and I really do appreciate it for the unique fragrance it is!

lauravladelena

It smells like a bouquet of white flowers near some vanilla incense burning on a vintage table

GioiaVerratti

Poême, a melancholic beauty, now sadly discontinued, embodies the abstract artistry of perfumery's golden era in the 80s and 90s. A nostalgic treasure, a testament to a time when fragrances were intricate masterpieces. Its unique blend of floral and oriental notes was a beloved olfactory journey, now treasured as a vintage gem. Poême's discontinuation highlights the changing landscape of perfumery, making it a nostalgic emblem of a time when scents were more than just products; they were stories, memories, and art.

Marilouparfemme

Smells like a chic and cool grandma. It's definitely vintage smelling but i like it. Reminds me of a time when a lot of things were handmade and authentic. I especially picture a chic old lady sipping her coffee ☕ on a balcony the cup is vintage next to it there is an embroidered napkin and a vase of colored flowers 🌹🌺 🌻💐💮🌸 everything is being enjoyed in slow motion not like nowadays 😕 we're always in a rush. Definitely worth buying. Hope it's not being discontinued.

My wife most beloved one. Lancome confirmed us in an email that Poeme has been last time produced in january this year.
So, gone forever as others said it here.
Managed to buy the last bottles from mall across Germany last month, she now has about one liter, it s ok. But why, Lancome?!
Sad. 😞

sagecoated

Captivating from the first spray, echoes seductive, feminine and sweet at the same time. This perfume smells both mature and playful to me somehow. Love the middle and the base notes, narcissus, ylang ylang and amber dance well together. I don't think it is a dated fragrance, well maybe technically it is, yet still I don't think Poeme smells 'old', it smells mature. Reminds me of a put together, assertive woman. I strongly disagree that Poeme is old-fashioned, for it is the first perfume I got compliments on and I am 23 hahah.

Ranya

@zames @Julieinzh @everyone:
Poeme is DISCONTINUED!
There is no 2023 batch, maybe an old 2013 item. It is not anymore in production.
Seems the next one (in discussion phase now) is Magie Noire, maybe to be out from production in 2024/ 2025.
There are few old stock bottles of Poeme, only 30 ml, only 2-4 items in stock so hurry up if you love it!

zames

Julieinzh
There is contradictory information. ‘Poeme’ disappeared from the official Lancôme website in France (literally not listed there) but it remains on the UK and Australian websites. Some people refer to a Lancôme Tweet (2022?) which apparently confirms that the perfume is discontinued, some say that they spoke to Lancôme staff and it is not true. I wish there would be some clarity! (also got a back up bottle, 30ml)

Julieinzh

Thought it was discontinued and bought a 100ml back up bottle. The batch is from June 2023. So still being produced?!

Cheems

I tend to blind buy perfumes because I’m just like that and this one was so worth it. This thing is kindness in a bottle.. I would envision an empathetic and mature woman wearing it. I find that most popular perfumes are either overly sweet or try too hard to be seductive, and poeme is the exact opposite. To me, this perfume is mainly floral; I only detect traces of citrus and plum in the very beginning, but rather than fresh fruit it smells more like dried / canned fruit. Narcissus is without a doubt the strongest note at first, but after some time jasmine and roses begin to kick in. It’s an extremely complex perfume that evolves every couple of hours, with each phase having a unique and memorable scent to it. My personal favorite is around 2-3 hours after the initial spray — when it begins to smell like sipping a floral tea on a Sunday afternoon… something about it is so nostalgic and reminds me of such happy memories.
When I first used this perfume, I sprayed it on my clothes and for some reason it smelled sharp, grandma-like, and generally just horrible. However, spraying it on my skin completely changed my perspective. I guess it works well with my chemistry because now it smells gentle, calming, and nurturing. I see reviews saying that it’s very strong and unsuitable for the summer but this fragrance could be worn throughout every season in my opinion. It is certainly strong, but not the kind that hits you in the nose; instead it lingers in the back of ur nose and creates a very pleasant aura around you. As long as it’s not sprayed on fabric, it’s inoffensive and light, whilst also managing to last long enough for me to smell it when I’m showering. Overall prefer this much more than modern mainstream fragrances

Pearl Sound

Ohh I love this classic beauty more and more.💜 It's so unique, elegant, feminine. So I read Poeme is being discontinued (which is a disgrace) and I discovered ONE small bottle left in a store the other day, I bought it immediately! So happy I found it, although 79 euro for 30 ml is a lot of money for me.

Ranya

We officialy said Goodbye to this yellow treasure on december 2022.
It was one of the biggest mistake and cruelty made by Lancome, discontiuating this masterpiece.
I am.so sad and dispapointed...
So long, beautiful! 😭💛

snoopy2

The version I have matches with the more recent reviews: soft, sunny, floral, comforting hug. “Warm hay” seems to fit. It’s not J’adore style white florals. There is nothing bold and bombastic about this current version. Nor is it sugary sweet. It is a lovely, subtle, feminine scent and yes, quite unique imo.

vaninavanini

Sensuality incarnated - Poême makes me think of Anaïs Nin's diaries.
One of the finest perfumes ever created : carnal, feminine and unique - there really isn't anything quite like it.

nightcutter

Gorgeous, sunny, warm and bright. Perfect for summer.

kristenboris1997

Its a heavy hitter. I've come back to this one and its still as strong as ever. It really is a yellow floral and I get no actual sweetness nor any vanilla; purely yellow floral on me and powerful. I like it a lot but I do tire of it as it really is close to suffocating.

selinacat

I am a more, modern Ropion lover. I like sultry, statement fragrances but something made me curious.

I am so surprised how much I love this. This isn't a scent to get attention, it's personal. It's a snuggle, a hug.

If you're someone with trauma, this might be really good for self-soothing. I feel the calming impact wearing this has on my anxiety.

There is a certain confidence and safety I get from the deceptive florals. I sprayed it once, then twice...waited...sniffed..."hmmm..where is it?" DO NOT OVERSPRAY. This is not a Mugler or Coco Mademoiselle, you get no heads up.

This has quiet confidence. Leave it. Let it soak into you with 2 sprays. See if you think it's weak after like, 10 minutes.

The opening is gentle, and it's just not the way scents are these days. But, it rises with a crescendo as it heats with your skin. Then, the middle has this soft but secure floral center that stays on, and on and on.

Its feels like a very sensuous love making between two gentle women. Very VERY feminine, but intimate. This really evokes a beauty of self-care. That you are wearing it to make you feel good about you, and no one else.
There is a slight eroticism to the middle, but as I said before, it's very pure, innocent and private.

"If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love some body else? Can I get an amen up in here?"

Poême, "amen!"

honeyoceans

Mmm… finally have a full bottle after dreaming of this for months. Bright yellow floral that is slightly soapy and sweet. (I just realized that I may have an affinity towards soapy florals..as long as they don’t smell too shampoo-y)

I have to disagree about this being too strong for the summer. It definitely is a powerful scent, but the notes, especially the mimosa, ylang ylang, and datura, just scream warm weather to me. I grew up knowing datura as “angels trumpet” and on summer nights they smell heavenly. This lasts and projects for hours. I’m so glad I happened to find a bottle at the airport, as this isn’t the easiest to find. I feel like the bottle and color of the juice matches the scent perfectly. Sunny, happy, somehow elegant and casual at the same time. I find it very unique too!

Sexbox1814

Mum wore this in the 90s it always reminded me of floral bubblebath a strong floral

Cadera97

Poême: which perfume notes I'm going to have?
Jacques Cavallier: YES!
Jokes apart, I love my Poême. Bought it by mistake and fell in love at the first sniff. I'm wearing it today to watch Marie Antoinette. It suits the regal mood.

CrazyCrab

Usually I actively hate Lancome's fragrance offerings... but I had some advantage points to spend... my sister spoke highly of Poeme... Jacques Cavallier is a favourite of mine... so I took a chance. I'm glad I did because it's beautiful and I'm in love.

I can smell the narcissus strongly at the start and then it seems to melt into a honeyed orange blossom tea like fragrance. I've never smelled mimosa and I see that is rated highly on the notes so maybe I'm missing something in my perception. I can certainly see the similarity with Classique though they don't smell the same- Classique I would say is more powdery sweet and overtly flirty/provocative (pink feather boa) whereas poeme is more romantic (pink orange sunset) and in a dreamy world of it's own. It smells like the daughter of Classique x Amarige where Chloe Narcisse is the maternal grandmother. I love it very much!!!

VanillaaManiaa

This is an absolute delight! Heard this was discontinued so wanted to try it.
This smells like a meadow breeze on a hot summers day, but also like sitting in your garden on a humid, hot summer evening, surrounded by honeysuckle and jasmine flowers. Class in a bottle. Not usually drawn to florals, yellow florals at that, but this is so well blended and is more of a sunny, honeyed floral with vanilla. Comforting and relaxing, a true therapy for the senses.

herculano

hmmmm…

This doesn’t wow me.

I think I get tired of vanilla in “everything”

It’s quite sweet. A bit smoky. It does smell like honey and yellow flowers.

I get zero fruit from this, which is strange.

My bottle is a vintage.

Meh.

I decided to give this one a full wearing today, after my shower, and I am pretty disappointed that I chose it. Wasn’t feeling like it was fitting my mood or my personality.

It’s in no way BAD, but it doesn’t move me at all.

Bummer.

I eventually layered Alexandria Port (TF portifino dupe) over it, and it is giving it the fruity bright contrast I was craving.

Better. It gives it a strong neroli accent.

I will likely gift my bottle to my niece who also collects vintage perfumes.

I much prefer Organza, which is another vintage vanilla floral. In fact, wearing Poeme made me appreciate Organza more than I did before.

Update: My sister tested it and I liked it a lot on her. Very nice, actually.

I will keep playing with this. If it never turns the corner to a love, I will probably give it to my sister.

Update:

This is lovely! I wore it all day recently, on a warm summers day, and it was so yummy and … oddly… “wholesome”?

I smell warm hay, flowers, and honey.

My niece told me it smells like a high end sun tan lotion (interestingly!) and she’s looking for a bottle for herself now.

apfelix13

I’m from Brazil and I remember getting a bottle of Poême when I was a teenager by an uncle who lived abroad. It was love at first smell. I am now 40 years old and I was beyond happy to be able to buy a big bottle of it (as far as I know it is discontinued). Oh my. This perfume is sublime. It brought back so many amazing memories! The name of it is perfect, it is a poem! A poem of beautiful notes. I love it and it’s one of my favorite fragrances!

Lyric82

I debated back and forth on this for a while when I heard it was being discontinued. And I finally decided that I needed to own it because it is one of the 3 first fragrances I owned and wore as a teen in the 90s. The other two were Lagerfeld “Sun, Moon, Stars” and Givenchy “Organza”. I think my tastes as a young teen were a little beyond my years, not saying anyone can’t wear whatever they like, but I certainly did not smell like my CK One wearing peers that’s for sure.

I couldn’t really recall what this smelled like, though I remembered adoring it. So I was a little surprised when I sprayed it for the first time in probably 25 years. Ew… I hate that sentence.

It’s definitely yellow floral forward. And to me, it almost comes across as lotion-like, but in a really good way. It smells sunny, and sweet, a little powdery…. And I can definitely see the comparison to JPG Classique, only I’d say that Poeme is more elegant and soft. More ladylike.

The strength and longevity are fantastic. But despite it smelling like such a sunny and vibrant day with flowers all around, it does kind of feel like it will be too heavy in the full blast heat of the summer. I will have to wait and see, but for now, in the spring with mild temperatures, it’s gorgeous. And I can’t help but think that I had really great taste as a teenager. I’m glad that FOMO won this round.

BigBobRoss

This smells lovely very feminine

When me and my man finally tie the knot (6 years and counting), this is going to be my wedding fragrance. Inherited a 5ml from his Mum who passed away. I dare not use it for just anything, it's ethereal and amazing. This has a magic about it, that reminds me of Le Baiser du Dragon. Infinitely intoxicating.

auburnalmond

All these notes combined just give me the impression of linden blossoms - heady and honeyed linden blossoms. It vividly reminds me of being near a linden tree in full bloom with millions of bees buzzing around.

ParisLoveXo

very Prada La Femme to me. the mimosa definetly kicks in after about an hour making it a gorgeous sweet floral

Gyps

Stunning fragrance. Not the kind of floral that’s ‘too much’. Beautiful, honeyed and so well blended. I bought this blind and am really glad I did. Very happy with this purchase and will definitely buy a back up. Love at first sniff 🥰

Edit: I’ve worn it a few times and twice I’ve attracted bees 🐝 lol 😂

Neverapeoplepleaser

I coveted this fragrance from when I first smelled it as an adolescent in a duty free. It was always far too expensive and sadly, I never acquired it. Fast forward to 40 years old and I'd kinda slightly forgotten about her. I was purchasing some other perfumes and stumbled across Poême. Damn... if it isn't as utterly beautiful as I remember! Almost through my 1st bottle as I just keep reaching for this honeyed, seductive yellow floral. I have so many older perfumes as projection, longevity and sillage just knock many modern perfumes socks off. This really is so stunning though....its timeless. It doesn't seem dated to me, at all. Even my 16 year old daughter adores this gem! Definitely in my top perfumes of all time.

libertinesupreme

Calling your fragrance "Poeme" is incredibly bold, especially when the brand underlines that yes, this IS like a poem - head, heart, and base notes don't exist here, only a poem of notes and fragrance.

And goddamn if it doesn't work perfectly.

It is very overwhelmingly floral, but Poeme shows how silly the word "floral" can be as a fragrance descriptive - because yes, Poeme smells like flowers, but it smells nothing like any other floral scents on the market. There's a playful powderiness that's only just lurking under the surface, and the belle of the ball is the bursting mimosa, narcissus and peach - but even as you think you identify the notes, more of them come; yellow florals, white florals, a little hint of fruitiness... and you think, oh, yup, this is a POEM - there's an absolute explosion of notes, but they all come together into one glorious, cohesive, intoxicating whole.

As far as I can ascertain, it is not yet discontinued, but it is hard to find - so if you're a fan, I'd recommend to have a bottle or two in reserve.

linzertart

This perfume debuted when I was 20 years old. I don’t know who bought me a bottle because there’s no way I would have had the money (probably a Christmas gift) but I adored it and drained the bottle. Second bottle came courtesy of a boyfriend and I literally inhaled that in record time. I kicked myself for never buying a third and then as this became harder and harder to find, I obsessed. Poème by Lancôme has been one of my two holy grail perfumes and I’ve been searching for a reliable bottle of this gorgeous thing forever. I finally got my hands on what looks and smells like the real deal.

Now, in my memory, Poème was a big, heady, mature lady perfume. I rocked the heck out of it in my early 20s so I don’t think there is such a thing as old lady perfumes. Now, at 48, I am experiencing it in an entirely new light. I find this lighter than I remembered and little fruitier. First I thought it was a reformulation issue, but I’m getting those little nostalgia waves that confirm this is truly my Poème. So I can only conclude that my nose has matured and while I still lean toward big, heady floral perfumes, they may be a tad bolder now (Chanel No. 5, Lanvin Arpège, etc). It projects well on first spray and has All The Flowers as it dries down. If there is any reformulation fallout, it’s in the sillage and longevity. It doesn’t seem to stick around as long as I recall or want it to. Still a delicate little poem on my shelf that I’m so happy to have again.

Allegoria

I Blind Bought Poeme last Fall. I had read Elena Prokofeva’s article on Poeme that spoke of it smelling like clover and hay. Amongst other notes. I read rave reviews - many bemoaning it’s discontinued status. Others were running out to buy back-up bottles. A sucker for anything Spring-like, I had to jump in the queue - fast!

On first spray, my initial thought was, “Oh, there’s got to be a mistake”. To my untrained nose this was too strong. Poeme was reboxed and retired to the back of the closet.

On weekends (before a shower - in case I needed to scrub it off), I’d test it just to see what I had disliked. Instead of finding what I’d disliked, I was finding beauty. Week after week. In all the different notes and the many transitions this fragrance takes.

I have now done a complete 180. I adore this! Whether it is a more informed nose or brain, I now smell whole fields of clover, alongside flower after flower. Oh, the flowers! I imagine bright blue skies over fields of warmed hay.

I can’t imagine the wonder of the first formula, but this reformulation is no shrinking violet. I treasure this bottle of perfume and I love the liquid inside. Lancôme’s Poeme is my Ode to Spring.

Scent Trail: 8/10
Longevity: 6 to 8 hrs.

eaudemale

You gals allowed this to get discontinued?
This smelled timeless, there’s nothing vintage about Poeme just like there isn’t about Organza. To trade this genius for the stuff that is produced today is a crime… everything just smells the same and don’t get me started with Kayali and Angel’s Share (what kind of names are those?), glorified Victoria Secret body splashes.
RIP beautiful Poeme, you made every woman that used you unforgettable because you filled every corner and stick to every object they touched but most importantly because your fragrance was out of this world. So dramatic lol

Cadera97

I love white and yellow florals and Poême takes the 1st place. There's nothing like smelling the sweetness of a floral perfume, something that is out of fashion now, but will one day make its comeback. Poême makes me happy in the same way that L'Interdit does. I also love Gabrielle and Alien and I'm always on a hunt for pungent jasmine and tuberose scents!

Aekemi

Soapy, yellow floral, powdery, warm and sweet scent (not overly sweet though).
My favorite of Lancômes perfumes. It's beautiful and feminine.
Love to smell this on my scarf on a cold day or night.

kookaburra1000

The story begins; You are on top of a mountain, bewitched by crisp early spring air you are then transmuted into a bee trapped in thick, syrupy wildflower honey…you are struggling, but you’re bathing in honey and how luxurious is that? Should you really complain? It takes you half an hour to free your wings, (now the fragrance has settled, chapter II.)

You are now a beautiful tiny bee and decide to spend the rest of your day sunbathing & napping inside a powdery, beautiful freesia blossom as the honey on your wings begin to crystallize in the sunshine.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

What a lovely perfume! I kept on coming back to this perfume at my local David Jones and wondering whether or not to get it. It has a nice opening note of peach, mandarin orange and the elusive and rare datura note, but I did find it went slightly too heavy on the mandarin orange and peach in the opening, making it a bit too cloyingly fruity sweet.

But let it rest for 15 minutes and you get the most lovely and slightly bombastic yellow-floral mimosa and ylang ylang heart note, with tuberose and orange blossom hints here and there, orange blossom being the slightly more dominant of the two.

The dry-down has a slight muskiness to it and I can detect some of the amber and cedarwood in there, which keeps it all very grounded and prevents this perfume from crossing the line from deliciously honeyed sweet to cloyingly sweet grandma perfume. It does smell slightly mature and for a woman that's 30 plus, but it certainly doesn't smell old. It's a well-established career woman's scent, but it can be worn at night on a date too. Eventhough it's more a spring and summertime scent, because of its slight cozy warmth I can imagine it being worn in the autumn and winter too.

It's such a unique, graceful, sophisticated and romantic scent that makes one think of happiness and rays of sunshine in a bottle. It has great sillage and it lasts about 8 hours on my skin. I think it's a classic for a reason and I'm glad to hear that Lancôme isn't actually discontinuing it.

spitfyre27

Um I bought this for very shallow reasons--because I liked the name and Juliette Binoche was the model for this one, one of my favorite actresses. I blind bought it, which is how I buy most of my perfumes :-| I must say I find it too strong when smelling it from the bottle. It is not unpleasant but it is not me. I think it's for an older woman and I'm just not there yet. I've worn it to the office and it was the first perfume I was complimented on. (And yet no one can smell my Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT) But it's true what the other reviewers say, the scent ebbs and flows, the scent is complex and there are certain facets of it that I like (the floral and fruity whiffs I get), but mostly I think this is too cloying and reminds me of perfumes my grandmother used to wear. Fortunately, once I spray it I don't really smell it too strongly. So I'll give this to my mother, because I don't see the point of keeping something which I do not really love. Maybe she'll enjoy it. This is one of those 80s-90s scents which I found too harsh when I was a girl.

LanaDelSlay

So umm.. one spray on each side of my neck, went out and about, id say 4 hours later, i had a shower, and the shower started smelling like Poeme, i think the steam made it more intense or something. But then i come out of the shower, i use a cream that has no perfume, something basic, I mind my business and i smell Poeme... AGAIN. Now I had to write something because it's nighttime and I can suddenly smell this perfume even more. It's not in a suffocating way, it just comes and goes as a reminder that it's there. Very comforting. The scent is a sugary yellow floral, with a honey undertone, to me it feels like amber carries all the notes and the vanilla is almost like brown sugar but it's not intense, it's just as though someone grabbed yellow flowers and boiled it in water filled with vanilla and brown sugar and heavy honey, it infuses in it, and it was spilled in a bottle called Poeme and you smell like a beautiful nectar of honey, spring, and joie de vivre

DaringVictoria

Not a linear simple perfume, there is depth in it, when I use it I fall into nirvana, full state of absence of everything but happiness.....I never try to break any perfume into ingredients, I do not want to destroy magic. If I see Malevich' black square there is no second meaning for me...
In life I separate all scents into 3 category-ones make me happy, ones make me comfortable and the others distressing my feelings. .
Poeme is very loud and suffocating for the first hour of so...When you breathe it in and hold just because it hits you that strong. when it calms down, it keeps you in the wonderful bubble for the 6-8 hours, keeps you feel as a whole, resistant to anything and everything negative...

XeniaKoneva

What a gorgeous scent! So rich, complex, and uplifting! Smells like a mix of honey, yellow flowers, pollen, ylang-ylang, and tonka beans. It is very sweet but does not cross the line. I can't even imagine a more yellow fragrance than Poeme! It will sound weird but I also pick up something similar to freshly boiled sweet corn. Whatever it may be it does not allow the scent to become extremely cloying.
Poeme is a classy scent that I feel like wearing mostly on special occasions. Regardless of it being one of the 90s legends it aged very well and does not give any "retro" vibes at all.

NoorbBelgium

Honey and lovely yellow blooms. really tender and wonderful. One of the scents I receive the most praise for. Longevity and sillage never die. the honey- and nectar-filled splendour of the wild flowers. This scent is quite intense, fairly sweet and spicy, and a little bit heavy—like a magic potion. opens with spicy notes combined with honey, then progresses to include vanilla, peach, a significant amount of tuberose, and heliotrope. It has lovely floral oriental design. Amazing work!

anitasaastamoinen

Lovely, sensual, warm scent with especially yellow flowers (mimosa first), vanilla, powder and some fruit, it's a heavenly scent on colder seasons. Finally I have it! It's timeless and suitable for anyone, who just wants to wear it. I'm a little bit bored with scents, that have no sillage and no lasting power. Poême is longlasting with great sillage: I don't have to guess, itf the scent is there after some hours.

grapefruit352

I truly like this scent, but not love. Modern version of this fragrance for me is slightly flowerish. Yellow flowers on the basis of some kind of mix of Indian spices with leathery undertone. Reminds Oscar de la Renta Oscar with its retro old-school vibe. Oscar is more prominent, while Poeme is lighter.

kassinator

I have a vintage parfum mini splash bottle. This is beautiful. I'm not normally one for vintage perfumes, but this one is just lovely. It has beautiful yellow florals. I get a lot of mimosa and ylang ylang, but the flowers are covered in honey. In fact, I'm really surprised honey is not listed as a note. This is a robust fragrance that has a ton of notes and I do think they all add to the final result. I personally think this is a lovely perfume for someone to try who does not like florals. It is a different take on floral that yields beautiful results.

DianaLuta

Back in the days, my mom told me that it used to smell different (in a good way). However, it still smells unique, it is definitely not a basic scent. Very long lasting. This perfume still smells very strong after a whole day.

Lancome seemed to have confirmed on Twitter in 2021 that Poeme was being discontinued but maybe there was enough interest to change that decision? I'd be so happy if this isn't actually being discontinued! This stuff is like a golden potion, felix felicis! Interesting to read the review saying the 2022 batch is paler in colour.... it makes me wonder if it was disappearing because Lancome have reformulated it again and staff thought it was discontinued?! Maybe they're only selling it online nowadays like some of the Dior classics?

pakhomovao

One of the best perfumes, happy and sunny. I like to wear it in spring and always have compliments. It's one of the first perfumes that I really liked. It would be strange to imagine the world of perfumes without Poême.

AmberAura

I recently returned from Paris, where I visited the Lancôme flagship store on Champs Elysees. (It’s beautiful! Dreamy. There’s a doorman, and everything!) I went especially because I’d read they still sell Poeme. They DO! But it was out of stock! The salesperson was surprised when I told her it is hard to find in the States, and we thought it was discontinued. She said perhaps the company cut back here, and it’s not one they are pumping out, like the newer ones— but they still make it. I had been watching the web sight for awhile, and knew it was listed but always out of stock… SO I signed up to be notified and not a week later it was back on the page! I jumped, and got it today, and MmmmmmmmMMM. My husband took one sniff and said he popped a… uh, got excited. Because I wore it when we first dated, back in my 20s.
One or two sprays will still do ya! This golden bottle of sensuous sunshine is incomparable, really. Nothing really smells like it. It’s so worth the wait!

Added later: I have worn it now for a few days, and still love it. But it is different from the OG. It used to have a “tangy” zip, that was really unique and addictive, BUT that I also thought because cloying as it was worn. I didn’t like it later left over on clothes. That is gone from this version, and although I miss the initial hit, it’s better. It ALSO is not nearly as strong or long lasting. Which, I think also makes it easier to wear.

MakeupNeverSleeps

I haven't smelled this since the '90s and while it smells very similar, it definitely doesn't smell the same. That said, I think it's so lovely. Daffodil/narcissus is one of the most under-used and underrated floral notes. Imagine something like Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge with vanilla and a little more amber and a little more yellow floral added to it; that's how I would characterize this scent. Someone else in the comments said that it reminded them of the mid/heart of Prada La Femme EDP, and I see that. Either way, it's super feminine (in the classical sense) and very happy smelling. If memory serves, it was too intense and suffocating for me when it came out, but this current formulation, though on the cusp of "bombastic", is not the same intensity as it once was (in a good way).

Poème is a huge, syrupy floral whose enduring popularity I find hard to understand. Like Poison for the 1990s, this enormous, extroverted floriental enjoyed unbelievable popularity at the turn of the millennium. Lancôme for me seems to specialise in bottles of syrup (some of which are very decent to be fair), and never more so than here. Given the extraordinary plethora of notes here, kitchen sink comes to mind. Jacques Cavallier's sweet florals can be excellent (YSL Elle, Cinéma, Nina, even Stella) or awful (looking at you, Gaultier Classique), and Poème is unfortunately in the latter category. A chemical bomb of cloying fruits and florals, I find this deeply unpleasant.

Poème opens with syrupy-sweet peach and plum, medicinal and artificial. Sweet orange is in there too, alongside boozy, kir-like blackcurrant. Sweet cloying florals follow after a little while, led by heady Poison-style tuberose and sweet freesia. The hazy mimosa is very sweet, enhanced by intense, syrupy vanilla. Orange blossom ups the ante, adding more sweetness alongside the tropical ylang ylang note.

It becomes powdery as it develops, with almond-like heliotrope coming to the fore, alongside some rose. This phase is easily the most pleasant, but the fruity-floral syrup dominates. There is a soft spiciness to Poème as it starts to dry down, sweet and peppery. While not bad strictly speaking, it simply adds to the chaos.

The drydown is dominated by vanilla with sweet amber emerging after a little while. Woody notes creep in, but it remains peachy-sweet until the bitter end, with plenty of florals lasting the course. There is a dose of musk added for good measure. Sillage is enormous and longevity is eternal (it's rare to find such performance nowadays! I tested a tiny dab from my miniature bottle and it lasted until the next day.)

Sweetly feminine, but subtle as a nuclear bomb, there is nothing poetic about this scent. 1/5.

WifeyPink

I remember smelling the OG version of this when I was a kid in the 90s. It's not the same but still beautiful. IMHO Poeme is a classic Feminine fragrance that definitely shouldn't be discontinued & every woman should own a bottle ❤ I much prefer it over Chanel. It's strong but soft feminine, comforting and inviting great projection and longevity. I also love to layer this with a straight up vanilla and sweet orange blossoms.

swedishmilk15

I'm not convinced that this has been discontinued. Lancome has it on their website as of today, 10/31/22. I suspect this is brought back seasonally when Christmas approaches.

toosimilar

To me it's cold aldehyde flowers. Even aquatic since it's quite fresh.
This might be something for the autumn
Ah yeah, in general it's quite nice, but a bit overwhelming (i.e. strong)!

marialena888m

This is Perfume with a capital P. Warm, dense, nectary-sweet floral, sumptuous and heady, beautifully blended, not at all outdated but as much of a classic as Chanel no.5, Poeme is just more sensuous and ‘curvaceous’ of a fragrance. I imagine a beautiful, classy middle aged lady with expensive tastes. Poised and graceful, well-preserved figure, expressive eyes, warm smile and perfect hair. She wears tasteful jewelry, fur coats in winter, a hint of cleavage peeking out of her satin blouse. She married into old money and is secretly envied by the other women in her circle, often the subject of their gossip…but who can blame them? their husbands can’t help eyeing her when she’s in their vicinity, hypnotized by the feminine sway in her walk, the soft clicking of her heels, and the heavenly trail of fragrance she leaves in her wake. That fragrance would be Poeme and nothing else. Juliette Binoche is the perfect face for Poeme. I can also imagine Princess Diana smelling like this. Gorgeous. Best for women 35+, though a younger woman can certainly pull this off in formal settings. It’s very lady-like, very rich, very beautiful. This is not something I’d wear a lot, I am not a ‘Stepford wife’ type, but I wear it when I want to feel like the Belle of the Ball and conquer the crowd with my feminine presence…it does make me feel hyper-feminine and expensive. Poeme smells so rich and luxurious that it blows all the current Chanels out of the water. I can’t believe it was discontinued.

Unruly Julie

I mist the very first sprays of Poeme on my wrists...I am speechless!
This must be an elixir straight from Heaven!

mhubbard1961

Unique scent. This is a perfume evoking romance, but not really sex. As the name implies, one could apply this before a poetry writing session to usher in the muse. I like very much, but my husband despises it, and he doesn't despise much. Too loud for work, Not a crowd pleaser or a safe blind buy. Sadly, I think I gave my barely used bottle away.

Gyps

A very lovely perfume. I don’t know why everyone is saying it is discontinued as it’s everywhere here in Australia. Going to buy a back up as it really is beautiful.

apfelix13

Poême will always be my favorite scent. It’s so beautiful and so underrated! So sad it has been discontinued!

CelinaPerfuma

There will never be another perfume like this. Such perfection of white and yellow florals, and absolutely ageless - this smells as fabulous on my 16 year old daughter as it does on me. It's criminal that such a scent has been discontinued. I've splashed out and purchased two 100ml for myself, and one 100ml for my daughter so that we can enjoy this glorious perfume for as long as possible.

LanaDelSlay

White flower, orange blossom, vanilla mixture that makes it so pretty, very underrated. It lasts a long time too

tandem_4x4

Did anyone tried a pure parfum of this?

LenoreHolly

If happiness, sunshine and sunflowers had a scent, it would be Poeme. Blind bought as I love mimosa and was scared to miss out with all the talk of it being discontinued. Still widely available here in Australia? I’ll make sure I get a couple of big bottles so I can never be without it. Despite smelling like sunshine, it feels wintery to me - like a warm hug. The perfect winter floral. It might also be appropriate for summer nights - I’ll give it a try when summer rolls around. I’m in a big testing phase at the moment and my usually indifferent husband immediately said “THAT smells good” when I applied Poeme. A classic for a reason. Get your hands on it if you can - certainly a safe buy for any lover of yellow or white florals.

Alternatives to try if you can’t find poeme - fragonard Soleil, Keiko Mecheri The Beautiful Ones.

Eva Behari

God! Why did Lancome discontinue Poeme?? Damn! Why???

Detman101

Omg...I have to smell this before it's gone.

I blind bought this one because I had read so many positive comment on here, Oh my goodness, this one is so beautiful,
the floral and peachy scent blend very well, 4 sprays can last all day long, but pity I heard this one is get discontinued,
grab a bottle if you can, and thanks all the nice comment here

overall, I would give it 9.5/10

great for all year round

angienotesjunkie

Why Lancome? Why!?!

I have loved this gorgeous and unique fragrance for so many years, so to find out that it is being discontinued is heartbreaking 💔 I must find another bottle ASAP.

christopher.chase21

Such a shame this beauty has been shelved. I grew up very aware of beauty in the 90s (my mother owned a beauty salon) and I remember smelling the Diors, Calvin Kleins, and Lancômes of the 80s and 90s. Ironically, I never smelled Trèsor on anyone, despite it being much more popular then than Poême was. I did smell Poême on many a freshly permed soccer mom. It’s definitely got that 80s and 90s beast mode sillage and longevity. Poême is quite a warm and sunny floral. To my nose, the modern formulation smells the same as I remember. I recall this one smelling like a bouquet of foreign flowers that my little town would only see in magazines, or have imported if you were wealthy enough. Poême would dance in the air high above the smells of Elnett hairspray, Paul Mitchell shampoo, and permanents. When I spray it on my skin, it transports me back to that time when I would listen to beautiful women laughing and getting their nails painted and eyebrows waxed into oblivion. I’d sit in the back room reading Vogue or Elle magazines and rip out the little fragrance strips to rub on myself after my bath before sleep. I imagine fluffy little bee butts smell like Poême. Their little legs heavy with pollen from the juiciest flowers. I get the mimosa, but it’s the Datura roses that sing in this one. This perfume is essentially laughter and warm hugs in a bottle. Confidence included. May she rest in our memories…

villiruusut

This perfume's notes piqued my interest quite early on and I very much wanted to try out a complex floral perfume, but I've had a hard time trying to find an authentic bottle of this as it's been discontinued. There are plenty of fakes being sold out on the internet and they can be very easily passed off as the real thing if you don't look carefully. Fragrancex recently re-listed the perfume albeit at quite a high price, but I was determined to get my hands on one and boy, I do not regret it one bit.

I caught a slight whiff of the fragrance while unboxing the perfume and was immediately enthralled. Although, I can see why people may think this smells a little "old" and "dated", I think the scent carries a lot of character - self-assured, fun, womanly. The perfume smells like an intoxicating elixir made from the nectar of bold spring/summer flowers, drizzled with syrupy fruit juice, and topped with a dollop of ice cream. The bloom of yellow florals was bright and loud at the opening and dries down to a cold, creamy vanilla on me - much unlike other spicy and warm vanillas that I get from other perfumes in my collection.

Back to how some people have mentioned that the recent reformulations appear "screechy", I didn't quite get that - I do wonder if it's because they've gotten ahold of one of the inauthentic perfumes. If the box of the bottle that you own says "Vaporisateur - Natural Spray" instead of "Vaporisateur - Spray" in the front, under the Lancome logo, you might want to reconsider the authenticity of your bottle.

I've only given myself a single spritz on the wrists but the scent fills up the room and even my sister, who's normally quite nose-blind to most of my perfumes, picked up on the sweet scent. Definitely a powerhouse and definitely a shame that it's discontinued!

katgoessplat

My favorite perfume since I first smelled it at 12 years old. My friend’s ultra cool, parliament-smoking older sister gave me a sample, and I’ve loved it from that moment onwards. This is not fruity or saccharine sweet—it is UNIQUE, heady, feminine and mature without being Shalimar-mature, if ya know what I mean. Fall/winter go-to. Lasts and lasts. 10/10

spitfyre27

It feels heavy and cloying but very fragrant. It reminds me of my grandma, or old ladies in general, you know, the ones who go to church. It might be because of the ylang-ylang which are used in my country for the garlands they hang on statues of saints. It's not exactly unpleasant but I don't really want to smell like a church. Not sure why I bought this honestly! I think I just liked the name, and I am still in search of my signature scent. I thought this might be it but unfortunately it isn't me.

EDIT:
It's not my favorite but I do get compliments when I wear it. This perfume has strong sillage. I also could smell it the next day even after taking a shower before I went to bed.

peachpony

I stumbled upon Poême at an estate sale and wasn't quite sure what to think of the brown juice, yet the jumbled font made me wonder if she perhaps had something fresh, even fun, to offer. It took me around three times of wear to determine that she is the loveliest brightest flower. She is Ms. Honey from Matilda in her little green cottage. She wears straw hats and sunflower dresses. She is good despite the sludge of every day life. This perfume is like a smile and I'm a rather gloomy person. While the style of this woman is not who I envision myself as, I can say that the energy she radiates fills me with each flow of sweet air that wafts up. Tuberose, mimosa, and narcissus create a beautiful bouquet and the faintest base of musk ground it into reality. She isn't a full fairytale. She is a completely possible best day of your life. I love love love Poême. I can never be without.

EDIT: Tried her in the winter and I have to say I have had a completely different experience. I found the scent to be rather artificial and cloying. Almost like a hairspray.... I'll try her again in the summer, but woah! It's crazy how our noses change from year to year.

Vellocet

This is my mother’s signature scent and therefore nostalgic and comforting to me. It has the same vibe as Nina Ricci’s L’air Du Temps. Soft, feminine and vintage. For me personally to wear they are a bit outdated and has a lot going on, but still have great respect for them both!

Sapienta

This is the most optimistic perfume ever. Nothing like it. Warm, smiling honey mimosa, sunny vanilla. This is such a unique olfactory historic treasure... Perhaps I'm dramatic but it suits Poême.

Skinscents4Fusspots

I just realised that Prada La Femme smells exactly like Poeme in it’s most floral stage (middle notes). It doesn’t match the majesty of Poeme’s dry down, but as soon as it warmed up on my skin I recognised it as mid-way Poeme! I mention this because Poeme has been discontinued and this is the closest thing I’ve smelt to it, but also because I think it proves what I always thought. The 90s was the greatest era for perfumes and if a modern and trendy house sold them they’d be extremely popular and would get hyped up. So here we have proof that if you put a (very nice but not as good!) version of a classic perfume in a modern bottle and add a high fashion brand-name to it, you’ll see everyone taking about it on YouTube (which is where I’ve seen it….. many times, and why I got a sample in the first place!).

Poeme is a masterpiece. An absolute tragedy that it’s popularity dwindled so much that Lancôme have scrapped it.

Faeternal

A must have in my opinion. This is yellow florals done perfectly. It is a very wearable scent that performs incredibly well with good longevity and sillage without ever coming anywhere near loud or overpowering. No dirty or sharp notes like some other yellow floral fragrances, this is perfectly warm and smooth. It is daffodils on the verge on Spring’s first warm day, a joyful, elegant scent.

AlinaCretu12

I am obsessed with this perfume. It's deep and thick, the mimosa make it quite similar to Coco chanel edp, but Poeme is a bit more floral in the dry down, old school perfumery, huge performance, not transparent like new era perfumes. There is something about the vanilla in this one that makes me addicted to this scent. Romantic fragrance.

LeSucreRose

Beautiful. 90s era perfume is the best!

GUADELUPA

One of my most complimented fragrances. Beautiful yellow flowers and honey. Very delicious and tender. It comes from those days when perfumes were made from many different notes, 100% compatible with each other. Sillage and longevity are eternal. The bitter-sweet beauty of wild flowers full of nectar and honey. One of my favorite scents.

abbieclark67

Oh god, what a fantastic fragrance with a beast performance, very potent, highly versatile, it's a total perfection. The opening has spicy notes of datura, narcissus, plum, peach, mandarin orange, Himalayan poppy, green notes, bergamot, and black currant while the heart consists of vanilla flower, mimosa, ylang-ylang, tuberose, jasmine, heliotrope, freesia, orange blossom, leather and rose while the dry down is more of amber, vanilla, tonka bean, cedar and musk with a pinch of orange blossom. The vibes are deep, sexy, and seductive making it a must-have kind of fragrance. This one will get you compliments for sure, this is a unique scent and is purely a beautiful oriental one that is going to stay in my collection forever I believe. Effortless chic! Refreshing one! Light and yet deep! I am in love with this piece of beauty!

callred

Oh, my goodness. I just got this perfume, after smelling it in a department store a LONG time ago, and I have fallen in love. There is nothing screechy about all these flowers; only a soft, deep, warm, bright, and unique scent of joy. I was scared it would be in-your-face florals, and I was so wrong. I'm getting peach, mimosa, orange blossom, vanilla, something earthy and grounding, and a bit of tuberose. I have no idea if this bottle is the original formula or the new one, but whatever it is, I love it.

dyrdkk

A gorgeous warm floral. Honeyed mimosa with vanilla in such an elegant way. Performance is also good.

cherrypi007

One of my favorites for cool weather. I love the sensual warmth and I personally put it in a perfume bottle with a dip stick because the sprayer is too much and too messy.

unlitcigar

Today is 33 degrees C outside, and something prompted me to try this again.. today i smell flowers that i have never smelt before in Poeme. The first time i used it was in winter, i was choked by some strong and dense honeyed plummed florals, and it was too much so i shelved it. But as of today, mimosa is amplified, along with some tender & translucent florals. I am really enjoying this morphosis, i would of stopped you in the tracks to ask you which scent it is, were you wearing it. And your reply would have surprised me. I'm so happy, feels like patching up with an ex.

bevren

I'm not sure how anyone these days could enjoy this (unless they are a big fan of Poison - the like of which is a bit dated now). Straight away it shouts padded shoulders and brassy clip-on earrings. By no means unpleasant, but I'd fear people starting to back away from me if I overdid this or lost my sense of smell. Go easy if you wear it.

avekenny

This the most optimistic perfume I own — lavish floral sunshine in a bottle! I trust this perfume above all my other faves to suit any occasion perfectly, inoffensively, and yet; to always bring a glowing compliment.

Poeme makes me feel joyous, radiant, and content.

If yellow, my favourite colour, was a scent…this is it.

Miss Dolittle

Hmmm... Pleasant flowery, . I wouldn't say it's outstanding. I think I may wear it in summer. Would I repurchase, no it's not outstanding enough.

Efragrantica

A customer wore this yesterday and everytime I walked past her table, I had this waft of gorgeousness in the air. It's smelled beautiful, I had to go up to her and give her a compliment and ask her what purfume she was wearing. She said it was Poeme, Lancome. I'm in love. Stunning purfume, its very classy. I'm going to buy this for my Mother on her birthday. I think she'll suit it very much.

AnlisaC

It’s such a shame this is discontinued. This to me is a Lancome masterpiece, such a true yellow floral. I used to own a bottle got rid of it and repurchased because I missed it. This smells very floral not a sharp floral but definitely not a weak yellow floral. It smells clean and fresh on my skin and I can say this will last long too. Sillage is very good and will surround you as you walk into a room. Believe it or not I smell every flower in this scent, especially the mimosa! Why oh why are all the good ones discontinued, this would do well in this market. There really is nothing out there like this. Highly recommended 9/10

shalimaraddict

Sadly I think this has been discontinued. I haven’t seen it in stores or on Lancôme’s site. It’s too bad, it’s a lovely scent.

Phoenixpink80

As soon as I sniffed this beautiful perfume, it took me straight back to my 90s teenage years.
It reminds me of so many of the scents I wore as I started my perfume journey. I think I may have to revisit some of those.
This is a stunning scent and would suit a female of any age.

LSAUG

I have smelled many perfumes on my fragrance collecting journey since COVID started and have been impressed w/ quite a few fragrances and bought a lot of different types of perfumes. I really love my collection and kept telling myself it was time to stop buying fragrances and sampling, what else did I need? But a voice in the back of my head kept saying you aren't done yet, there is still "the one" out there that will capture your attention. One out there that you don't yet have and could be a top 10 for life type of perfume. Poeme is that perfume. They truly don't make perfumes like this anymore. I own several niche and natural perfumes and I love them but even as good as they are they don't have the complexity of these past perfumes. Poeme is the sunrise on a land where milk and honey overflows. Gorgeous narcissus and deep yellow mimosa caress your senses and take you on a place of discovery but what you discover is yourself. This perfume smells like the warmth and kindness that a woman always wants to project out towards those that she loves. Golden, bright, soft, sensual, deep, and filled w/ happiness and joy. This is a sultry perfume, worn by a woman of any age young or old who has a generous heart, a gentle nature and a happy smile for everyone. A perfume that celebrates the generosity of life and the beauty deep w/in a woman's soul. Poeme, I am so glad I have you in my life.

swedishmilk15

Nothing I've come into contact with smells like Poême. This was the first grown-up perfume I ever chose for myself. I was 16, on a class trip to Europe in '01. My crush had just asked me to prom at the top of the Eiffel Tower (seriously!) I had about 5 minutes at a duty-free shop to choose something on our last day of the trip, in Paris. This looked the "most French" to me, with the circonflexe over the "e" 😂 and I was familiar with my chic older cousin's bottle of Tresor, and so it came home with me. It became the signature scent of my teen and early 20's until I exhausted the few bottles I had received as gifts. (WHY oh WHY did I not save that first empty bottle bought in Paris?! 😞)

Anyway, I revisited recently, after deciding to rebuild my fragrance collection and include some from my childhood. I am ever so glad I came back to her. What a beautiful composition. It could be the Sun's signature scent. Very "yellow" smelling between the mimosa, ylang, vanilla, and amber. Not too saccharine, it's not an "edible" vanilla accord: not that close to a gourmand. It sits somewhere in the middle, giving green notes at one moment and sultry amber the next, then a waft of something so fresh--I think it might be the cedar. There's a certain earthiness that keeps all the florals and juicy fruits grounded.

Normally those light florals dissipate but Jacques Cavallier is a true genius--his formulation turned out as intended. The top notes weave in and out even to the dry-down. This lasts forever, the sillage is good and if you prefer your perfume to enter the room first, just give one or two extra sprays. It will be on your clothing even through washing, if you wear it a lot.

I agree with others who commented that it's one of the last of its kind: sultry, demanding, but beautiful and sweet. The types of scents meant to become a woman's signature, worn year-round and for all occasions. I think it's ageless. I could imagine a young girl wearing it (maybe because I did!) but I could also see a grand dame in this scent.

I'm glad I experienced this before the freshy and gourmand invasion of the late-90's had shoved it completely to the sidelines. I'm scared it's being discontinued, it sure does look like it. Either that, or it's experiencing a surge in popularity because it's sold out everywhere and auction prices are skyrocketing. I stocked up on a 1.7 and 3.4 oz EDP... I never want to be without my first love 💛

Katv2003

This is an okay scent for me. Not too strong but not light either. It does smell like flowers to me but in a sultry almost spicy way. I am neutral about this, it definetly smells good but not in my ultimate favourite way.

Elena_Dz

Not a fan of Lancome, but this is a lovely perfume. Floral, sweet scent with vanilla, it lasts forever.

melusina1982

So sad to see it go from the shelves. On a personal note, I think it is the last of the great perfumes.
There is nothing like it, a plush yellow flower dream with winey undertones that lasts for ages.
I wear it because it brings back lovely memories from my grandma who used to wear it when I was a teenager.
If you happen to find it, give it a shot. It is definitely one of a kind.

Gellert77

There are three scents that I always associate with autumn: Laura Biagiotti's Venezia, Jo Malone's English Pear and Freesia and ... Poeme.

Poeme is very much a mimosa scent which to many people says spring, but I find that Poeme is far too opulent, rich and altogether voluptuous to be a spring scent. I do admit that at this point Poeme has become a seasonless classic much alike Givenchy's Amarige from the same era, so to many this is a signature scent and worn year around. Sillage is strong and longevity - especially on clothes impressive (days). It is very rare nowadays to get this much "bang for your buck" and sometimes I find myself reminiscing of the nineties golden florals such as Poeme and hope for a revival ...

Poeme is floral, yet sweet, there's vanilla to make it surprisingly contemporary. There is also this plummy booziness that associates with Venezia although Poeme is more floral and bright.

I really hope this hasn't been disontinued, but I'm afraid it has. The only place (on the net) where there is no sign of any "out of stock" is lancome.com ... It seems to be very much sold out everywhere. Hopefully this is only due to Christmas sales and the stocks will refill soon. In any case, I will get a back up from my local department store where they only have 30 ml bottles left...

winonahb

I loved Poeme when I first tried it years ago. I liked it when I tried it again more recently. The heady floral scent appealed to me when I was younger. Now I go for something more spicy and layered. That's not to say it's disappointing. I changed. Poeme is exactly what it sets out to be: rich, sweet, warm, and lovely.

Skinterpreter

So, I finally bought a full bottle of this perfume and I have no regrets so far.
I can only confirm (based on my previous review of a sample) that it is indeed a beautiful, warm, yellow floral that screams sun, summer and joy to me. :) and not only because of its yellowish color.
It's slightly soapy, but not in an annoying and harsh way some soapy perfumes tend to be. This soapiness is rather soft, tender, gently mixed with delicate and not screechy sweetness, along with juicy, at times almost bubblegummy white and yellow flowers.
I recommend this if you want a perfume that is fitting the sunny, summer atmosphere, that you can enjoy during summer evenings, too, yet it isn't like those typical summer perfumes that are simply fruity, fresh, aquatic, etc. This is something different. :)
I almost feel odd for wearing this in winter. :D but I couldn't resist its charm. :P

brandiallyn

Poeme is a beautiful yellow floral bouquet - heady, sun-drenched, practically inebriating! The opening is bright with mimosa and datura providing a honeysuckle sweetness, offering additional top notes of mandarin orange and peach nectar. Unapologetically feminine, glowing with warmth, it settles gracefully into a base of rich amber, potent jasmine, and resinous cedar.

Poeme is a fragrance that conjures images of golden pollen powder staining outstretched fingers as one glides through a fragrant spring garden. It is positively humid with the scent of flowers - it can easily fill a room if not applied with restraint. It makes me think of the hottest part of summer, though contradictorily, I would find this too heavy to wear during that season. There's an aspect of nostalgia as well - could I have smelled this as a child?

Strong silage, great longevity. A gorgeous scent, but I recommend sampling first.

KimmieSullivan

A highly potent, moderately sweet as well as spicy and kind of heavy scent that works like a magic potion every time, I wear it. This is simply a perfect fragrance with strong silage and amazing longevity. Initial notes are spicy with the honey blend followed by peach, vanilla and much of tuberose with that of heliotrope. Top notes are Narcissus, Datura, Peach, Plum, Himalayan Poppy, Mandarin Orange, Black Currant, Bergamot and Green Notes; middle notes are Mimosa, Vanilla Flower, Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Freesia, Heliotrope, Rose and Leather; base notes are Vanilla, Orange Blossom, Amber, Tonka Bean, Musk and Cedar. A truly seductive, dark and super romantic scent. Every time I wear this beauty, I keep on getting compliments. There are beautiful floral oriental notes in this making it appropriate companion for summers but the warm notes make it fit for winter and fall. This is rich, chic and is perfect for a sophisticated and elegant woman. The composition itself is romantic, warming and very elegant. All my love to this beautiful fragrance.

Stoicchild

It begins with Amber, Vanilla and Musky Cedar with Tonka, but the dry down of Mimosa, Ylang Ylang and Narcissus on me was too suffocating. I couldn't escape the strong dry down. Initial approach of this perfume is beautiful, like an expensive sophisticated smooth Honey. It lures you in. The projection is excellent. You get what you pay for. Great gift for aunties, mothers and grandmas. It's more of an aged lady scent, like Coco Chanel. I bought it for myself because of the initial hit but due to the suffocating yellow floral dry down I gave it to my mum, she loves it.

dublo44

It's beautiful in the dry down. I keep going back to it (probably on my 10th bottle at this point).

UnearthlyApothecary

This is like the bigger bolder YELLOW version
Of JPG Classique the finest yellow floral ever created actually. Its very sweet and heady, a big snoot full of sticky pollen and over ripe fruit. Intoxicating. It could be a little much, but if you are looking for a floral bomb, look no further. Massive silage and longevity for days

Bronwyn_

Feminine, classy, and timeless. Very floral, with a hint of sweetness. It’s everything I look for in a perfume. I melt every time I smell it.

cassiesta

I smell florals and a touch of honey (is this a combination of fruit and vanilla?) which gets amped up in the dry down. I can see how others say it’s basically sunshine in a bottle. It is a nice perfume that is not usually my preferred type of fragrance but nice when you want something that isn’t gourmand but still has some sweetness to it. I like it for warmer fall days.

Edit: By the way this is a very strong like, almost love, so far.

Edit 2: I wore this again and it’s now a love. That honeyed floral scent is very beautiful on a breezy slightly cool fall evening.

Casino

I am not a perfumeur so this is a subjective comment. I find this classic, timeless, feminine, extremely projecting and a very stand out perfume that fills the room. It is very intense, not light at all, not fresh, but rich and confident in a classic way. It is not my kind of perfume, because I prefer leather or woody, dry, musk scents, but I can appreciate a gorgeous fragrance as this one. I find this to be +35 because it is not really sending a playful young vibe in my opinion, even though I used to wear it in my teens. This is my mother's favourite perfume. I do own a bottle of Poeme as it is something that reminds me of her, and I like wearing it as it is a compliment getter.

Skinterpreter

Poeme is a warm, bright, delightful yellow floral. :) To me it smells little bubblegum-y (probably peach and tuberose) in the opening, then it goes slightly green and sweet - but mostly floral (mimosa, ylang-ylang) with a not too overwhelming soapy touch.
It's not really "this is me" type of fragrance, but it would be worth buying a full bottle in future. I'm wearing this today when it's a beautiful sunny day in the middle of autumn. And really like it so far.
Smells like sunshine and garden. :)

Azisai-

Poeme is my idea of a perfect warm floral. Crushed yellow flowers (mimosa!), some vanilla here and there, and a tiny bit of spice. Good for fall and winter despite being primarily floral, it has depth and powdery charm.

She is a classic beauty; refined, mature, glamourous...but never old or bitter. Think of a silver screen beauty with a graceful attitude and inspiring outlook on life, feminine and graceful but powerful and well put-together.

I don't care if someone think this smells "too vintage", it holds up a lot better than many modern fragrances. Longevity and sillage are top quality, as is always the case with Lancome. Super underrated, in my opinion.

Laila C

Had the chance to smell this today.. dear Lord this is just gorgeous!!! Slightly gourmand, slightly spicy and a whole load floral. I keep getting wafts of it about 6 hours later and it’s divine. I am so getting a bottle of this on the first opportunity 😊

Edit: so I bought this, it is still gorgeous but it turns out the waft of stuff I was smelling was actually something else and the longevity of this is terrible. 4 hours and it’s a skin scent. I will still use it and love it though but a little bit sad about it nonetheless 😔

Edit: 2 chose to wear this on a rainy day today in autumn (as opposed to the warmer temps at the end of summer) honestly, it was like the rain was carrying it along. As my clothes got a little damp: so this beauty magnified. It literally did what it says on the tin. It was poetic all day long! It’s obviously one that needs the right frame of mind and perfect conditions to fully bloom which I get. ❤️

LolaVoyage

Poême is everything guys… I blind bought this scent due to a lovely recommondation and couldn‘t be more pleased. It smells like a freshly picked flower Bouquet on a warm midsummer day. Warm, carefree, blissful do I feel wearing it - like a mother‘s embrace .

I visited a friend today and smelt such a nice fragrance around us, I needed to know where it came from. Her husband said it must be him. He said he wore scandal for men. But no, no, no that was not it! It finally dawned on me as I sat in my car on my way Home. Wonderful wifts of the most beautiful parfume were surrounding me.. it was me all along.
This is a love.

Alexandrarosario

I blinded buy Poeme and never ever regret it. I've been wanting Poeme for so long and finally got it with a good price. The smell is beautiful, feminine, so many floral notes and I LOVE IT. It is very long lasting, i'm surprised. It stays on me more than 24 hours if i don't take a shower hahaha. I wore Poeme while working all day on my desk, and the day after, i literally smell Poeme all over my desk and laptop. Poeme so far is the most beautiful fragrance i've ever smelled.

louiee

Poeme….finale we meet again. and what an encounter !

This is for sure the purest of poetry.
I remember when my grandma wore this and I felt too young.
Dazzling, flowery and fairylike - like a faint memory.

The mimosa is really well done, very well blended in narcissus, amber, peach and cassis. Tuberose, orange flower and jasmine.

Femine soul in a bottle.

Fresh, flowery, uplifting and memory evoking.

Poeme stays with me for a long time with a solid silage.
Love from the nineties.

Tropicat28

Dearly Beloved. . . This was probably my first distinct fragrance memory. Saw it at TJMax when I was almost 16 and asked my mom to buy it for me. I remember her asking me “Are you sure you want this?” Yes! Now as I am pushing 40 this is a distinct scent memory. I had the bottle for 3 years because one spray smeared and distributed to my wrists and neck(which I would never do today) was all I needed. It is still a power house, currently on my 3rd bottle. The dry down is so good. If I had to describe this fragrance with one word I would use Voluptuous. It’s sweet, thick and honey like. I remember one summer night in Huntington village on Long Island, I was wearing it with the combination of Amber Romance lotion mixed with bath and body works exotic coconut lotion, this Columbian guy that I was dancing with was mesmerized and kept telling me how amazing I smelt insisting to know what perfume I was wearing. I remember the exact outfit I was wearing, a red ruffled blouse, black Levi skinny jeans with black heels. Men seem to like this fragrance. My husband can attest to that. But I think you have to have the right chemistry.

GizPop

This is a much better alternative to Guerlain's Terracotta le Parfum, which was a limited edition release. I don't know why other haven't made this comparison before. Poeme is such a beauty of a perfume, I don't think it smells dated at all, just very elegant and beautifully blended.

Chanelette

Gloomy cloudy sky
diffused in gentle yellow light
the softest voice of all
telling you everything's alright
a magic carpet ride
through sweet mimosa haze
this gorgeous gem is leaving me
so completely amazed

Smonalisa

Peachy , deep rounded sweet. Smells very nineties, luscious. I have a vintage mini if interested, DM me please.

POÊME.

A stunning sensation of luxury and sophistication.
A beautiful contradiction.
It has a classy and dualistic quality : Heavy yet lighthearted... Somewhat dark but never sinister, sensual but never vulgar. Warm but still distant, almost unattainable.
This scent can be both dramatic and understated, depending on how you wear her.
She can be your daytime companion as well as your night time Femme Fatale.
It's really all about your mood.
However - Poeme is a perfume to wear only on days where you feel the part.
Every lover of Poeme will know exactly what i mean.
Yes,she can be worn casually, but the kind of casual where you still have your low key makeup on point and look put together. Think casual in the -turtleneck and sunglasses -Jackie O- sense.
Not 'wearing the old Johnny Cash tshirt and sneakers' kind of casual. (That can be great too btw, but this perfume is just not the right scent for that).

I remember stealing sprays of my mothers (now vintage) Poeme. My teenage-self knew this was a scent that would be with me always - and it will. Not because it's motherly, no, but because it's soo fabulous and so ladylike.
And honestly, I now own two vintage and one compeletely new bottle (and several stock-up's), and I actually think that the new formulation is almost as good as the OG, albeit perhaps a little less intense. But the essence, the heart of the perfume, is still there, thank God.

Lady Poeme still leaves a heavy, delightful trail in the air, even after you've left the room.

Junej

One year, I bought a bottle of this as a New Year's gift to myself. I finished the bottle that same year, and now every time I think of the wonderful, happy memories from that year, a ghost of Poeme lingers. I was then, sharing a cubicle with a guy, both of us being new in our profession, and we became fast friends with shared jokes, food and discussions over our computers. When his table was moved another cubicle some-time later, he complained about leaving the "best smelling corner" of the office XD.

A sillage monster, and projection beast, so go easy. One spritz in the morning before heading out to work, and then one more before heading home, sufficed. I did the air-spritz, before walking into the perfume cloud. Yellow florals on my skin, before settling into warm amber.

Will definitely return to it someday! 9/10

Kairavu

There is nothing else like Poeme.
One of the very few originals.
Like someone said here in fragrantica about Chanel no.5, you can't break the fragrance into individual notes. Well blended to a fault of linearity.
A ' mature ' scent , in the most delicate way possible.
Yes, aging isn't about becoming harsh. Period.

dienle13

Un poème magique in a language I cannot speak, yet the disarming beauty of it has me charmed regardless. I'm the last person anyone should expect to rave about your typical sweet, floral-heavy fragrances marketed exclusively towards women. But Poême is so, so special to me.

The scent reminds me of innocent, joyful, uncomplicated times in my life, when naïvité was a trait to be protected, not exploited.

So I wear Poême for myself. I try never to analyze the scent and just enjoy the feelings it brings. Ignorance truly can be bliss and rarely this harmless.

adelaidesandrina

only got this because i’m in love with juliette binoche and she was the face for this fragrance.
the first time i smelled this, i was in awe. it truly is beautiful. smells like golden sunshine!! the yellowest of florals. this also lasts all day on me, sillage and longevity is out of the roof.
definitely an underrated release from lancome.

alsa7

I coveted this perfume for such a long time. Now I finally managed to source a bottle. Turns out to be the original formulation.
This is such a lady like fragrance. The name says it all.
Definitely love at first sniff!

Eribert

After the first few sprays, the impressions I got from Poême were “bubblegummy, yellow florals with peachy undercurrents”. I instantly knew there was tuberose in there and could more than just sense the presence of heliotrope and datura.

30 minutes in, the initially surprisingly cool mix changed into something warmer; a glimpse of rose and amber start to shine through as part of a complex, interwoven texture, although the white and yellow florals are what hold the reins. While this might sound overwhelming, it is actually nice. At times you get more of the mimosa-ylang-ylang combo, at other times the jasmine and freesia are more prominent. The overall impression I got was expensive soap. Not the over-the-top super expensive €40.- a piece kind, but the still unusual €10.- a piece imported kind that you got from your favourite shop.

At hour 3, the fragrance has shifted towards vanilla in a way that is sweet without being cloying.

Six hours after its application, Poême is still very much there, but has become a cozy, woody tonka-vanilla goodness.

Eight hours in, it starts to get weaker – what happens after that I do not know, because – once again – I had to prioritise my body hygiene over further inquiries.

As for the overall impression, Poême made me feel truly nostalgic. It is something I’m sure I’ve smelt a hundred times during the 1990s: feminine, but never girly; dreamy, but never playful. Subtly sweet, but in a mature way. Not cold but radiating a well-controlled warmth that never develops into a heat. Deeply rooted in reality.

Poême reminds me of a very specific kind of woman: Wearing shades of brown, beige and olive and a dark nude lipstick. Well-coiffed dyed hair that is short, but not boyish. Very mid-nineties and so much like so many moms I used to know. An entirely different breed that never went through the “girl forever” stage fashionable around the year 2000, as by then she was past her formative years. I would not be friends with her – probably not even like her – but I do respect her.

So – where does that leave me with Poême? I’m afraid, that despite it being an absolute throwback to a time I did not entirely enjoy, I am a bit in love with this fragrance. It leans feminine, it leans mature – all labels I do not identify with to a large degree. Yet, I cannot help what I feel. Poême IS beautiful. I truly recommend it and probably will be getting my own bottle when there is a chance.

TL;DR: dreams of a nineties-mom, beautiful tuberose-centered blend

drdgs

I love Poeme. It works wonderfully with my skin chemistry. At first spray Poeme is a yellow floral with quite prominent tuberose but settles into a lovely soapy yet powdery scent. On me after dry down Poeme sits reasonably close to the skin but reinvigorates with warmth. I adore that the heat of a warm shower gifts me one last smell (before I start all over again). My only critique is that I find that I need to use 6-7 sprays which means that a 100ml bottle only last about 12 months for me.

FloralBouquet🌸

Loved this perfume in my twenties but, alas - whilst it invoked memories of my care-free youth days - it was certainly not the romantic scent I recalled, it smelled distinctly of astringent high school bathroom soap bars and the sharpness of that soapiness stung my eyes. The vanilla, jasmine, rose and tonka bean are unfortunately, undetectable!
In order to make it palatable so as not to waste it, I had to layer it with another perfume. I was sad but, relieved to finally finish the bottle of perfume last week and have the empty bottle as a re-purposed keepsake.

magimae

I have a bottle from the 90's. I like Lancome but this one and me had to part ways for many reasons. It went on pretty strong, too green and acrid; more like a cheap perfume.Once it died/dried down, it had a nice soft powdery floral scent at first, then suddenly way too much Ylang Ylang jumped out which I can't stand. There is no sillage at all after about 10 minutes. One has to literally put their nose right on the spot to smell it. I'm glad I had a smaller bottle so I didn't loose too much. It just wasn't one that hit the spot for me.

KooKooKatie

I've just scored a vintage bottle of 1 ml from 1996. Now I have to wait about a week for it to be delivered. I have never been so excited in all my life :-)

fgamz

I actually smell a lot of frangipani in this.. the dry down was beautiful but a bit too mature for me. I would probably purchase in the future but st the moment I'm after something office friendly and everyday.

lilianafleur

This used to be my favorite perfume when it came out. Today it is yet another victim to reformulation. Unrecognizable compared to the original. Such a shame.

yumdiva

I used to work at the Lancome counter at Macy's when I first moved to New York. Droves of women and men always purchased Tresor- a scent I also love; however, I loved the scent Poeme more for some reason. I don't think it was promoted as heavily as Tresor because now Macy's doesn't even sell it. I think it's a beautiful fragrance that lasts longer and is extremely feminine.

ShyCassy

This was a inherited bottle, so not something I would have purchased for myself. I like some things about it, like how it lasts for days on my skin. And the gentle scent I can detect in the evening when applying in the morning or even on day 2 is actually very nice, warm and comforting. The initial whiff however is too much of everything. And this one has a lot of notes, I am not even sure I can pick one out of this bouquet of florals. It is like walking through a lush garden when everything is in bloom. Less is more with this one. One gentle spray or it overpowers you.

CygneNoire

This is a wonderfully complex perfume that smells like expensive fresh flowers mixed with amber. But, as it ages and the juice becomes a darker golden shade or orange, the bright mimosas and white florals turn into powder on the skin. If 'comfort' and 'safe' had a scent, it would be Poeme. I can picture someone's shoulders relaxing when they pull you in for a hug when you have this on or a lover gently kissing their partner's neck, slowly taking in this scent. It smells innocent but not in a girlish/childish way. It just smells...pure.

JasminePetal

This is absolutely stunning, it's both complex and simple, I don't even know how to describe. It has so many intricate notes you'd think it be a mess, but it's blended so well into something so sumptuous, so happy, warm, exhuberent. Definitely does not smell like old lady perfume to me. Much more like someone youthful but wise in spirit, regardless of age. At first the mimosa plays the highest tone for me, mixed with some of the fruity sweet notes. The all the other flowers come popping through subtly, but together it's quite a chorus of a bouqet, which I LOVE. The florals and fruits float on a soft bedt of the warm undertones, with the slightest hint of citrus. For my sake I am glad I cannot smell the leather note, that's usually a turn off for me.

Daisv

Smells like a sweet old lady (old lady for the purpose of how sweet it is), who was most definitely a striking beauty in her time. A woman who wears a fur coat and pantyhose and pearls, and has the bold red nails decorating her hand. Her hands are gleaming with solely gold bangles, and vintage chain style -but still delicate, bracelets. It smells like a wise woman, who leaves a bold flair trailing behind her. The smell is everlasting and truly timeless, I cant explain it but it is a staple even like Chanel.

Francine21

Poeme smells like a HUG I can’t explain it it smells like someone who is always clean and gives the best hugs. If that makes sense✨

Ruby Galore

Had it been made in 2021, it would have cost $ 300.

theuntrainednose

I have a sample.

--

Warm and sweet yellow floral. I can almost smell the pollen in the air, the warm end of spring, and the flowers almost turning into fruits, plus sweetness, Not the currently usual vanilla sweetness of pastries, but something that reminds me of jam. I like it. Well-blended, full of intoxicating flowers. Possibly too heavy for some people, to apply with caution. Feels like spring and summer in the open air. Would enjoy having it.

Jacquis

Before Amouage Sunshine, there was Poeme. Still the most beautiful OG of this type of perfume. Warm, dense, yellow sunshine without the tobacco. Perfection.

semmm

I heard a lot about Poeme and the notes listed looked like I should love it. Sprayed it on my wrist at a local perfumery store in Athens and was impressed. What I got from the initial spray is a subtle, pleasant fruitiness from plum. Loved it and decided to take a bottle straight away. Unpacked it at home and added one spray on the same wrist, and it started smelling just like butter for me. Feels like I'm about to vomit. I guess it was a mistake to add one spray on the same place as the previous "dose" has already started to develop and probably two sprays on the same place is simply too much as it is a quite strong fragrance. Decided to layer it with something fresher and sprayed Clinique Happy over it, and the result seems to be nice, a bit too sweet, but better than that strong vomit-stimulating odour. I guess one spray of Poeme is just as much as I need to enjoy this scent. Will try it alone with one spray tomorrow. So what I would definitely recommend is to NOT OVERSPRAY!!!

Murmur123123

Poeme gives me this nostalgic feeling (for no reason - as neither myself nor anyone I knew had worn this perfume before). You can tell that it is not a modern perfume (even my husband who knows nothing about perfumes and has a very insensitive nose said so), but it is so well blended and crafted that it truly feels like a classic perfume. I cannot tell the notes apart from each other but together they give off this fuzzy warm radiance, just like a bouquet of bright golden flowers (such befitting colour of the juice and bottle for Poeme!) Slightly make-up powdery, not overly sweet but definitely very feminine.

brightsun2205

I kept a miniature perfume bottle as a gift and display. Up to 3 sprays will do as this fragrance is like a warm and sweet flower bomb.

It is suitable for Autumn/Winter evening wear and special occasions.

LaUna

Heavy duty ylang ylang, tuberose, amber and jasmine. Stuffy for awhile. It's more updated version of L'air du Temps. I smelled this perfume on many people, which sets itself for popularity. I don't get much of mimosa and soft creaminess until the end. It lasts all day. I had great hopes for this one, lots of great ingredients and complexity, thought I was going to like it. However, too much ylang ylang, stuffy strong white flowers and amber, power up and made me want to wash it off. Too strong and ingredients have many wrong notes combined. If it was more creamy and less stuffy, I'm sure it would be better for my taste. if you like notes presented, stronger lasting perfume it's worth a try. It is a classy scent, not cheap. Mature, and matter of taste.
Generally speaking, Lancome does not have that base in their perfumes that I can tell it's their brand; variety, which is a good thing. So got to try it on before making a purchase.

anname09

My most cherished scent ever! Launched when I was 19 and living in France (sweet memories), and I always come back to it. No other fragrance lifts my mood like this one, never ever annoying me. I don't wear it often but when I do it's bliss. Soooo yellow, with an ambery/vanilla soft base. Mimosa in elegant company. Sweet but not spicy or gourmand. Sexy but not provoking. Comfortable but not boring. Please, never discontinue!

DawnNdyria

This is a beautiful fragrance. At first I was not really feelin it, then as it dried down on my skin I started to like it, then I just fell in love with the scent. It came off a bit strong for me in the beginning then it started to soften up in the dry down. I smell the fruity notes at first then more of a soft floral fragrance in the dry down. I totally love this fragrance it's not sweet like some of my perfumes. I have to say that Poeme is in a.class all by herself very elegant, classy, and feminine. 😎💖

bodnerrachel

I feel so lucky!! Poême is a heavenly creation! I scored a 100 ml bottle of this from my local perfume store. It's everything I wanted and MORE! It's hard to describe Poême other than it's elegance in a bottle. A yellow floral, peach, plum combination dries down to a vanilla, amber, woody, musky scent with wafts of leather, heliotrope, rose, tuberose, and tonka bean. Pure inspiration. It starts out with a dose of Narcissus, giving a green leaf freshness, tuberose, a warm peachiness, and Mimosa, with its warm, honey, iris-like, powdery airiness. The perfume reminds me of classic aristocratic beauties like Isabella Rossellini and Inès de la Fressange. I can understand why Lancôme keeps it in production. Beauty will never go out of style!! 10/10

annxyz

Incredibly pretty and beats the hell out of most overpriced scents from the other high end designers . Fantastic scent and value .

Malka92

I can't agree more, @regnum - they do not make them like Poeme anymore. Any time i want to feel warm, fuzzy, and deep i overspray Poeme. yes this is BEAST mode and lasts until the next day, but I can't help it. I want everyone around me to smell this juice. The richness, depth, warmth, and yellow-ness(?) is mesmerizing. My mom wore this in the 90s and it holds the most special place in my heart. I love you, Poeme.

regnum

Poeme. It fits its name because its a lyrical symfony. Yellow. It fits its color because it is yellow and bright sunshine. However it's so much more than that. Every single ingredient you see listed above is present, loud and noticable, all at the same time and just like a symfony it peaks and struts and dances under the sun. It is day never the night. Its happy and very heavy on the happiness. I think it feels heavy, even musky and powdery because of cedar, leather and tonka together. So heavy you need only the tiniest amount. It lasts until the sun comes up the next day. They don't make them like Poeme anymore. A true masterpiece of yellow florals.

pompommy11

This perfume stuck on me, like, forever. I have one spray on my chest before I go to bed. it's 2pm now, I can still smell a hint of this perfume. absolutely worth buying. I also enjoy the powdery smell of it.

Ruby Galore

HERE COMES THE SUN LITTLE DARLING!
(the beatles)

Masterpiece, a handful of gold and sun.

kandykiller

I really enjoy this...its very fenimine, floral done very smoothly, for me its more mellow...yet basic romantic,so pretty enough to wear as a woman& for one& i get alot of compliments,by women all ages, men like it to tho. It lasts a very good amount of time& spray it on a jacket or scarf& lasts even longer,i live in the desert so this only smells wonderful on me in winter& fall, spring nights, its a floral, pretty, basic romantic....more laid back for me& yet i still like it. Its okay& its one of those scents that even tho your noticed its a scent everyone gets along with.

ira.singhal

This is a beautiful blend of yellow and white florals, which I am loving. Unfortunately, it is also a perfume I have smelt on way too many people, at weddings and other such events that I am not sure I would wear it much. But I keep it stocked on my shelves, to be taken out and enjoyed once in a while. It is definitely a strong night time perfume so it isn't anyway something one would wear everyday. It has no warmth to it, being strongly floral. To my nose the Green note is very prominent and perhaps that is what stops this from being amongst my top 5 perfumes, but nevertheless it is definitely something a floral lover would enjoy!
p.s. It does have a slightly dated feel when you sniff it, but that would mostly be cause if you are under 40, you would have smelt it on some older women when you were in school and it is definitely strong enough to be imprinted on memory.

Elfarran

I can't help it, I love Poeme, and I'm a Dior Poison person.

Bebelusica

Very well blended. Very complex and strong, the plethora of notes all mix together gorgeously.

I don't really get the grandma vibe from this. Maybe it's a bit of an older vibe but not grandma to me.

Weirdly enough I get a soft tobacco smell from this.
After around 3 hours on my skin it loses a bit of the floral and turns more into a softer sweet smell.

When I stop smelling the perfume up close, I start smelling the room which I am in differently, like I'm in a wine cellar or an old house. It almost refreshes my nose (not a bad thing, just a weird thing that happens to me w this perfume, idk why)

Reminds me a tiny bit of Qimmah from Lattafa.

KindnessBoo

Highly underrated. She’s sophisticated, classy, with a touch of mystery. For, me this perfume will hopefully be in my collection for life.

sugaryrose

Honestly, when I looked at the pyramid I thought I wouldn't like it. But I was wrong. When I tried it at the store, I was captivated by this fragrance. It's so feminine. Probably one of the most feminine perfumes I have smelled. It's not sexy, nor is it girly-smelling. It's more womanly, elegant, gentle, warm, sweet but not syrupy. A bouquet of flowers and lots of warmth. I doubt someone will consider it offensive. It's such a pleasant fragrance. And it's very strong so a few spritzes are enough. I regret not trying it earlier.

jero

Neither fruity nor citrus, it's like from another time of space and has nothing to do with the trend, the inspiration behind Poême is tranquil soapy mimosa, like the sun just woke up the sleep and it's gonna be an optimistic morning. The opening is the most beautiful place of this yellow. After an hour on the drydown I can see why people compare to the grandma scent, it's more like an old perfume... no fruit juice nor citrus brightness, a little heavy and it's creamy, a scent more like stored flowers. Nevertheless, Poême is a beauty stands beyond time and will keep on charming his/her admirers.

Ann Dromeda

I've been contemplating for years whether to buy this gem or not,. Finally, i gave in last month.
I honestly don't know what to feel yet about this. I'm 24 years old who's into white/yellow florals.

I get it why people says it is grandma scent. This is a beautiful scent but I think I'm not on a level yet where I can sashay this perfume. You have to be at a certain phase of your life to appreciate this beauty.

Flameinga

Another perfect "dear grandma" scent. Its like standing in grandma's garden, with all of her white and yellow flowers in full bloom, hugging your sweet-flowery-scented grandmother.
