This was one of my first perfumes, and I still wear it from time to time as it is a fresh, sweet and easy dumb reach. It is not too much, nor too little even though the initial spray does tend to get kinda heavy and strong. It is aquatic which is a relief in this dry climate where I live. Even though it is a pretty straight forward fragrance, and doesn’t evolve a lot on the skin, it do have some complexity. I ecpecially like when the lily-of-the-valley burst through and blends with the watermelon and peach.

The musk blends it nicely onto my skin and I can still smell this after a whole day of wear. A loyal companion that deserves more love than it gets, at least from me. Old or not, it is still being produced for a reason, right?

Really lovely, Laura! :) This perfume is pretty in a very simple way, a great summer vacation scent, reminiscent of going to dinner freshly showered after a long day at the pool. Kind of child-like, possibly juvenile, like a virgin Sex on the Beach cocktail at the sleazy bar of the most affordable all inclusive hotel your dad could find but, still, lovely.
Not really all that exciting or appropriate for my day to day life but it does hit the spot if I‘m feelin‘ like a mocktail and buffet french fries for dinner. (Not that Laura smells like either of those things!)

EDT from a good 10 years ago or smthing and i shit u not it smells like nothing. im like where did it go lmao what

As an 11 years old girl in 1996 this was my first perfume, gift from my mom. It brings back memories I miss those times. The freshness and powderyness is lovely

amandavolpe

Pleasant but forgettable. Fades away completely in a couple of hours so the longevity isn't remarkable either. I did get compliments whenever I wore it, though.

Say what you want - it may be an old fragrance but it's still good. I got a sample of it back in the 1990s and I still like it. It's light, it's airy, it's a little bit fresh and perfect for those summer days on the beach or yacht. There was a time when I was tired of it but I started to use it this year and it still works for me. It's complex but well blended so you can't pick separate notes. As in the description above - it's like a gentle scarf.

I bought a bottle of Laura at my local thrift store. Can’t speak to the age of the perfume, but it is lovely and smells fresh and floral without being cloying or overpowering. I don’t sense a lot of notes, not the huge number listed. It opens with what I gather are here called “green notes”, but to me it is a celeriac/celery root note, earthy and almost sweaty. This dissipates in about 5 minutes and I get primarily freesia, which is a ‘Johnson’s baby shampoo’ clean, fresh and brisk floral without being sharp. There’s a sweetness that might be the fruit notes, but unlike some 90’s frags this is not uber-peachy. The sweet, fresh freesia lasts 5+ hours, I’m still getting wafts of it at the end of the work day. This is office appropriate and mild but not boring. I did try it outdoors on hot summer days but it just wilted, fading to nothing after an hour or so. I recommend this for spring, or indoor summer wear; I am curious to try it in cooler weather, but think the character is more springlike. A perfect feminine, casual, pretty and clean fragrance with decent longevity and low to moderate sillage. I totally get the appeal!

Dewy WATERMELON & PEACH. This was love at first sniff for me. Opens with a burst of juicy fruits including watermelon, peach & litchi with watery, sweet, tropical, green & fresh tones. Already here the woody tones are coming through from Brazilian rosewood, while it deepens into the floral heart with powdery, dewy & white-floral tones. This all rests on a musky vanilla-woods base. This is beautifully blended and overall I get a dewy, tropical fruity-floral with watermelon and musky vanilla-wood floral support base, that has a cooling, sweet & refreshing vibe. Has average performance for a light spring-summer wearing experience.

Contrast to So de la Renta Oscar de la Renta:
These are different, but you will catch a glimpse of Laura in So de la Renta's dewy tropical tones. So de la Renta has clean/soapy & creamy facets not found in Laura. Roughly equivalent performance.

Overall: beautiful dewy watermelon & peach scent, with average performance. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

My first review! Had this in my early twenties and saw it on a sale and thought why not? Couldn’t remember anything about it other than that I liked it.

I find it hard to describe it, the different notes, the different layers, not even sure I can smell them all as it really does not last long on me. But the first spray is truly lovely! 🌸 Very flowery (reminds me of something from my garden but I can’t place it), and sweet. Not too much but still enough that people notice it when I walk into a room. For about 45 minutes… that’s how long it lasts and the dry down is completely non-existent to me. Stays a bit longer if I spray it on my clothes. While I’ll use up my 25ml bottle quite quickly I doubt I’ll be buying another one.

Ohh Laura... I remember having this perfume years ago and liking it a lot. Definitely smelled lotus, vetiver, lily of the valley, litchi and some flowers in it... I dont remember peach or plum at all (shame!I like peach notes!) So I was meaning to get another bottle but good thing I decided to try it first before getting a new big bottle of Laura - yuckies, what happened to it ? Its not the smell I remember. Felt kind of spicy almost, on a way heavier side then I remember, alsmot masculine... I still smell similarity but its not identical. Not sure if they changed it.

HeidiLynn

This is lovely. I bought a bottle, nearly full, for $10 at my local thrift store. I love freesia and was curious about this. It definitely smells like a 90s fragrance to me. It is fresh and floral and fruity. There’s a fruitiness that has a hint of 90s peach, but us more complex than that. I get a fresh, somehow fleshy-aquatic note - maybe the watermelon - with green, herbal notes. There is certainly a floral vibe, mostly the freesia and lily to my nose; I also sensed an almost cumin-like note, shading into a tad of body odor…but don’t see cumin listed, so not sure if this was vetiver? That was odd…yet also gave an interesting, earthy contrast to the earlier notes. The floral notes were the most prominent and lasted the longest on my skin, more than 6 hours. I enjoyed this and found it fresh but not shrieky or squeaky (not too clean); I was multifaceted and interesting yet somehow simple and not overbearing. Would work as an office scent - I wore it to church on a cool spring morning.

lemmenkukka

I love freesia and peach in perfumery and Laura is one of the best manifestations of them. I have owned the bottle of this juicy delicacy since it was released. At times I get enough of it, for several years I could'nt wear it but after that big pause I was in love again with it and now I feel happy to wear it weekly. This is a sort of innocent and girlish scent but that doesn't mean that only girls and young women could wear it only - this is for all ages, very tender and soft scent. I truly hope this would stay in production forever!

Close experience with previous review by Schattenburg 😄
I was so in love with that fragrance in my teens and early 20s, but so broke back then. I regularly visited the perfume store in my town (in eastern Europe) to ask the lady to spray Laura on a blotter. The lady already knew that I won't buy and always gave me some bad looks. Then I inhaled the beautiful aroma and left the store.
2020 I heard rumors that they'll discontinue the perfume (I guess it was false, because it's still available 😄) but that was the push to buy a whole 100ml bottle. It's so strange - it drives me directly to the 90s, so nostalgic.
Regarding to the scent itself - I always thought that as pure aquatic as it is, this is a summer frag. However, I can't wear it in the heat, it gives me extra warmth. I have to test it again in cooler weather.

ubfrud

To me, this is the Fragrance with a big F. My mom used to wear this when I was little, so it reminds me alot of her comfort and safety. Beside nostalgia, it is a very light but interesting scent to my nose, not overpowering, but has that kind of «sparkle» to it that makes it noticable. I find the drydown somewhat similar to Aqua Di Gioia. Its that kind of aquatic, fresh floral scent that is impossible to get tired of. Honestly, I compare every fragrance I smell to Laura. It is the standard perfume, and even though it is generic in some aspects, any other scent does not quite compare to it.

amandavolpe

I like it whenever I wear it but I always forget what it smells like.

Schattenburg

I was probably in my early teens and too poor in Eastern Europe, to realistically have the prospect of owning it when I first sprayed it at my local Empik store. I loved it back then, it felt so romantic. Now I have bought it on a whim, when I saw it in the mastery perfume section at TK MAXX. I thought I would be probably embarrassed to wear something so 90s, but bought it anyway for nostalgia's sake. And I am not disappointed! I am actually wearing it. It's so lovely, and the best thing about it is that it stays on skin/ clothes for a very, very long time. You know it is not a fully natural scent, but at the same time it is not sickly artificial, or vulgar. It sits in the perfect spot of "delicately noticeable" which I can say is not the case for many contemporary fragrances.

Sorfan

Just bought a bottle. The liquid inside is completely different from the original from the 90ies. This one is heavy on the peach and litchi, maybe a bit of the freesia. It is a pleasant scent, but is not comparable to the original formulation, which reminded me of clean, crisp, fresh linen. It was a unique fragrance, the current version smells like a simple, albeit pleasant, peach body spray.

Izzy78

A wonderful meloney peacheyscent with musks, reminiscent of Yssey Miyake L'eau. Most prominent is peach, litchi, freesia, rosewood and musks. It is delicate and mellowy and fresh. Very romantic, inoffensive, chic, young, but I had it at 27, I will buy one at 42, it is lovely!

Reverie78

I blindly bought it because it has watermelon among the notes. I love watermelon as a natural scent but i am a little disappointed with the way that it is attributed in perfumes and i say this because i' ve already tried sorbetto rosso from escada as well. In sorbetto rosso.i sniffed sth that it reminded me melon instead of watermelon and in this i waited sth more sweet more "watermelony". Never mind. I didn't waste much money cause i found it in a very good price and i think it's non bad for summer hot days.

catmeow

I wonder if my memory is so flawed, but this has been my signature scent for many years as a teen and the current version has almost no resemblance to the airy aquatic perfume I treasure in my memory. In my newer bottle (bought it 2 years ago or so) the florals are much heavier and it has almost stale accords, could be the peach that has become too dominant and destroys it, but it has an odd dustiness compared to the original, maybe I got a bad bottle and need to try another recent one, but this isn't the Laura I remember, sadly.

k4t

This smells like the air on a dewy, hazy summer morning around 4am. An airy, gentle fragrance, like a breath of wind. Aquatic and white floral. The scent of watermelon and peach come through as well, and bring sweetness to it, but not much, just enough.

Very light, like a summer breeze. When you walk by people they can smell it ever so slightly. it's there, but only intimately. It comes and goes. It's not overpowering, it only enhances you the same way a very natural makeup does.

Lixa

The original Laura, that was still around in 2006 was to me the Best floral aquatic ever created, one of the best perfumes, period. So special, unique, unforgettable, unmistakable, with great persistence and sillage too. There was nothing like it.
At some point I couldn't find it anymore in stores, so I was thrilled when I found it again many years later in a duty-free. It had NOTHING to do with Laura; I could't believe it. That wonderful scent is gone due to reformulation. Beautiful bottle design and advertising, but again one more great creation ruined. It should also be illegal to sell a totally different product under the exact same label- it is misleading.

Viktoria8267

I wear this often during spring and summer smells fresh and nice melon. Good to wear year around at work too.

SailorV

Laura is what I imagine a freshwater mermaid to smell like!

It's aquatic, but without any harsh pseudo-oceanic notes, just full of beautiful watery flowers like cyclamen and freesia. I get a hint of lily of the valley, which I usually dislike, but here it's done in a transparent way and not screechy or soapy like in many other fragrances. The watermelon adds extra aqua-freshness, the other fruits like peach and a berry-ish lychee are lush and sweet. I think the fruity notes show that this is a 90s scent, they are done differently than fruit notes from today. But Laura doesn't smell dated, it's rather timeless to my nose, especially compared to some other aquatics from that era that smell like calone overload and cleaning products.
This is a well-constructed perfume with a nice warm base of vanilla and sandalwood. These notes don't dominate the scent, but are a canvas for the fresh fruit and flowers and make them last longer so it's fresh and sweet all through the drydown.

This was popular back in its days and if you were around back then, it will likely smell familiar to you. Today it's a little forgotten and available for a song, but it's such a dreamy, romantic perfume.

I noticed that sometimes tester bottles of Laura smell stale, likely because they don't get used up quickly nowadays and because light scents like this turn more easily. So be careful while testing and find a new bottle.

returnatyourperil

i love the peach and lychee notes in this but on me it turns into a skin scent after 10 minutes.

Coquita

This was one of my first perfumes. I used to wear it and love it as a teen, but alas, my tastes have changed and now I find it too sweet and fruity. The opening is a burst of watermelon chewing gum with some litchee, which is very screechy on my skin. The drydown, however, gets better, as it is more floral (mainly LOTV and freesia) and less sweet. Another issue for me is the projection and duration: its a bomb for the first half an hr (the phase I dislike the most) and then almost dissappears. After 4h I can barely smell anything.
I'd say this is a spring perfume for the fruity lovers, unfortunately, it just doesnt work for me anymore.

I have never smelled any of the *Other* perfumes up above that this is supposed to smell like, so I cannot atest to any of those. You would think by now, this would be just another perfume to me, because it's so light & pretty. OH NO! I am getting MANDARIN & I don't care how soft spoken it is, It's aquatic & fresh & I just ordered it! I was sent a sample sprayer in a PERFUME order I received today. Yep, I am a total junkie! I never expected to spray this & fall head over heels, but THAT just happened. At first it reminded me of Rasasi's Emotion, which smells a lot like one of the Tiffany Perfumes. BUT Rasasi isn't Mandarin, so the dry down is different between the 2. I cannot wait to get this bottle. I could only find 2.5 oz, someone mentioned 100 mls & that is what I searched for to no avail. It's a beauty!

louiee

Light, fresh and youthfull.
Like a soft whisper from my past.

Laura has been around since my teenager years.

I just repurchased for the memories and Laura is just as good as I remembered.

I´ts from a period in my lige where aquatic was the big hit in scents.

Peachy, lily-of-the-valley, watermelon on a Woody base.

Laura is stil love for me.

Very pleasant, inoffensive and just plain good scent.

She definetely deserves a place in my collection.

Silage is soft an longevity is a little below average. Turns into skinscent in 20 min.

justfloral

Sooooooo weak! I barely detected anything.
After spraying: alcohol.
After 5 minutes: mirabelle plum / peach juice, very watered down juice.
After 15 minutes: there is also subtle, creamy sandalwood note, something like sandalwood essential oil, it is and it isn't, close by the skin with a metallic note too. The perfume is slightly fruity but not acidic, sour - it is creamy and a little bit metallic. It smells on skin more like lotion or cosmetic cream.

For people hating strong perfumes.

This has been out since ‘94?! How have I missed this?!

Ok so I’ve been coming here to build up my stash with frags that are office safe and won’t turn my healthcare clientele’s stomach. I want clean, feminine, “happy” and safe scents.

Laura beautifully fits this expectation. The balance between all top, mid, and base notes makes this a truly inoffensive and pleasurable journey.

I feel so... hate to sound so girly saying this but it’s true!... I feel so PRETTY wearing this. And pretty brings me to beautiful. And when a perfume can do that for me, it makes me start to wonder if it’s a miracle worker! If I can smile at work during stressful times, that’s a real accomplishment too.

Definitely a fave - even though it took me 25 years to discover it! 🌸 ☀️ 💝

blachedalmond

This was a gift from my aunt. Fresh fruity floral, not necessarily a strong scent. But I do love skin scents that are comforting and makes you feel good. So I decided a congress would be the perfect place to try it out for the first time.

Throughout the event the official photographer, whom I was already acquainted with once prior to this event, kept chasing me around taking photos constantly. When I forgot my jacket somewhere he brought it over to me and announced it smelled too "perfumey" which was odd as I never spray my clothes and chances of still having traces of lightly applied fragrance from past there was rather slim.
He did not say anything else when I asked him if this was a good thing or a bad one.

On the last day he said my scent had a presence... not necessarily an annoying or overwhelming one but rather one that grabbed attention and declared it was there. He said it was sweet and charming.

To me it was hardly detectable after a few hours even though wearing it made me feel good. I'll absolutely continue wearing it but will not repurchase after I'm out as I have other favourites for similar wear.

charf

I have been wearing this since I was around 19 years old back in 1997. It has been in my collection ever since. I have around 130 bottles of perfumes, but I still reach for this one after all those years. My ex-boyfriends have always said, that this smells of me and has my name on it.
It is fresh and sweet at the same time. I don't think anyone can get offended by this smell. I sprayed this on at a festival at 10 am, and people could still smell it on me at 4 the next morning even though I never overspray.
I will never get tired of this.

Tasali

This was one of my first perfumes as a pre-teen. I always thought it smelled like mandarin so I am surprised by the actual notes.
Once I used it all up I bought the orange-colored Date perfume named Alexandra since it was a cheap knock-off. Sadly they discontinued that one ages ago.

EDIT: I recently bought my first bottle in 20 years and it is more aquatic and fresh now than I remember. It still got that mandarin smell.

Ilmatar

Scarlett X, this the first scent I bought myself, and my signature for some years afterwards. I gave it up around 1998 because of the really poor sillage and moderate staying power. It was very much a skin scent. I gave it another try today after 20 years, because I feel like adding a very fruity scent to my wardrobe. And I can tell you, that detergent like top wasn't there 20 years ago! I'm now at 5 hours wear, and NOW, it does start remind of what I bought 20 years ago.

So, I guess they changed the formula and added something that comes up as very chemival to enhance sillage and staying power. It's a pity, since this is still a really stunning scent!

ScarlettX

I have seen it around a lot, so I finally decided to give it a try.
It smells very basic at the beginning, something like some detergent would smell like.
The base is rather interesting though, so weirdly watery, light fruity and almost airy somehow.
There's is something unique about it, that's probably why it has been around so long.
So it is quite interesting, but the scent is weird enough, that I wouldn't want to actually wear it.
At least not many times.
It's an interesting mix of watermelon, peach, freesia, lily of the valley and green notes. I would recommend to give it a try.

Tompy

Laura is er echt een van het type parfums dat je wenst voor iedereen dat ze deze hebben

Mona Lygre

I think it's one the worlds best perfumes, it's my favourite, and I love it very much.

Linda JK

"Laura" ranks as one of my all-time favorite perfumes.

I'm always stunned when I see negative reviews of this fragrance, as it's one of the most inoffensive and lovable perfumes I have ever come across.

I first smelled Laura on a friend about 2 years after it came out in '94 and was so taken by the fragrance, that it didn't take long for me to get my own 100 ml flanker.

Laura is one of the few perfumes that will *always* be a repeat purchase for me. I am very comfortable with wearing this fragrance (and respraying it) around people who are sensitive to perfumes. It always receives compliments.

Back in the 90s, I was not familiar with the lychee note, just because I never owned fragrances which had this note. I only discovered what it really smells like in a lotion I bought this year. I don't particularly care for it in the lotion, but absolutely love how it's blended with other notes in this fragrance.

Lychee and watermelon are the top notes in Laura, with freesia, violet, and iris in the middle notes. I have come to love freesia and iris after smelling them in two other fragrances I purchased this year.

Laura is soft, floral, has an aquatic element to it, and is just so clean and beautiful.

Unlike others who have commented, I do not have any fragrance in my arsenal that reminds me of this scent. It holds its own, is memorable for me, and will always be the one fragrance I reach for any time of the year.

I spray this on my pulse points and a little on my top, and it carries throughout the day or night.

I have noticed that with flankers I've purchased in recent years, I have to re-spray the fragrance, which was not the case before.

This is a safe blind-buy and as mentioned before, will always be a repeat purchase for me.

MirageMirage

Similar to Venezia Pastello.

MsMixtape

It's fruity, pretty, inoffensive, and a little generic. I'm wearing it now, and I won't remember it after I've used the last of the 2ml sample.

carolylucky

I adore this scent its a classic perfume for me. My mother had this and I also used it many times. It is a fresh, fruity and juicy fragrance, because of the watermelon and litchi, but the combination with the pure flowers and a hint of vanilla makes it very special. I could wear this every time, its so enjoyable, but anyway I would recommend it for spring and summer.

Nikkafragrance

Upon the first spray I thought of Escape by CK. Laura is frutier and watermelon is definitely the main player here. I get strong cyclamen and freesia. It's very aquatic, perfect for spring and summer. I am craving a big bottle, however I am not satisfied with silage and longevity. I have to reapply it every two hours and within an hour it turns into a skin scent and hour later it's completely gone. Why Laura, why?!:(
I wanted you to be my new summer signature. I agree it's a very shampoo-like scent, but I don't find it artificial or cheap. It makes me feel clean and carefree.

COSMICSCENTS

Whatever to the people that put it down. This is a nice perfume, very floral and long lasting. Smells also like Splendor by Elizabeth Arden.

Rune

I am a man, so I don't have this perfume. But my mother wears it. Oh my God! This is THE worst ever perfume!!! I actually get really sick from it. It has a pungent stabbing odour. Even worse than the Elnett hairspray.

Some perfumes are just bad. But this is in a league on it's own. It smells so horrible that I don't even know how to describe it. Nail polish remover does smell very good compared to this perfume.

Sillage is enormous, unfortunately. Even the slightest amount of this perfume occupies the whole room.

Okey, I will try to describe the scent: Bug spray mixed with nail polish remover and hairspray from the cheapest stores, plus a good dash of synthetic floral bathroom odour "neutralizing" spray. Yes, that is about it.

This perfume is so bad that it should be banned by law!

The Swedish girl

Smells like cheap hairspray. My husband thought so to. My bottle was manufactured in 2015, so it can`t be "off" either.

Pretty bottle though.

Sweetling

I found this in the late 90's. My name being Laura, I had to try it. What luck, I liked it! I used my bottle up and haven't had any for many years. It's not a sophisticated, sensual scent. It's not elitist. It's bright and soft and inoffensive and pretty, and I like that a lot.

I would probably buy it again for a good price. When I mentioned it at Macy's, the saleslady looked surprised and thoughtful. She hadn't thought of Laura in a long time. And they didn't have any.

Lybarra118

I'm not crazy about Laura. And strangely, I don't really get the fruity-floral aspect like so many do. It's very much a freesia dominant scent that is both watery and powdery at the same time. I really can't pick out any particular notes outside of Freesia. I mean, there *might* be something fruity deep down in the heart of it all, but the scent is just...lacking something. If anything, I think I might be picking up the woody notes most of all after the floral. Everyone's nose is different, I suppose.
It is ultra soft, so even if I loved the smell, it would get little wear by me.

tommy_girl

I like the idea of this perfume and I think it was a good step at the time it was released. It could be a modern, subtle perfume which was far distinct from regular heavy oriental ones.
Even today it's better that some of 2015s releases, but it may not be able to compete with loads of new fragrances in the shops.
It is a soft floral, non offensive perfume. smells mostly like freesia with some fresh combination. it is not that much fruity, just some fresh, non-citruses ones to make it suitable for spring.
It has a modest, shy character if you ask me, suitable for females who like to stick to a perfume for a long time with devotion. The bottle is also beautiful and matches the character of the juice inside.

nvenus

I've got the 25ml Edt; the bottle is very neat & beautiful and it matches the overall scent. Floral, aquatic and a little fruity with a well-blended base. The cedar wasn't necessary. Light yet not weak. I don't find any of the notes superior. The melon (some some other notes) in it makes me think it fits warm weather the best.

I like it very much.

Sasco

I was beyond excited when I spotted this bottle on Fragrantica. Years ago, I worked as a hotel chambermaid, and one of the perks of the job was getting to sample various fragrances that we didn't see in our local shops (for those who travel a lot, take heed - sometimes our spritzes were quite 'generous'. Keep them in your case!). One day I came across this little lady, had a tentative sniff, liked what I smelled and sprayed it's fruity, aquatic deliciousness on my wrists, elbows, hair, uniform - I was a walking cloud of pretty. Imagine my horror when the lady-owner unexpectedly returned to her room to retrieve something. I hastily busied myself making the beds while my cheeks burned in shame. There was no way she couldn't have sussed what I'd been up to, but, lady that she was, she never said a word.

The day she left, I went to strip her beds and found a generous tip, this bottle and a note which said 'To the dark-haired room attendant - I think this smells better on you than it does me'. How cool is that?! I was THRILLED. All mortification forgotten! I used the entire bottle up, moved on to something else and forgot about it until I joined this site. I racked my brain to remember what it was called, but all I could remember was that it had a girl's name, and what the bottle looked like. And then, whilst looking at something else entirely, up popped Laura on the left-hand side of the screen! YES!

I ordered her immediately, for very little and now she's back with me - a beautiful, fresh feminine everyday fragrance. She's my 'for-now' signature - not quite unique, or loud enough to win the full-time role, but a sweet, friendly little temp who is more than up to the job. I heart Fragrantica!

I bought a bottle many years ago and I loved it ;it's a fresh and fruity smell; I 'd like to buy a new bottle soon

AlisonD

I agree that I think this perfume is overrated.
Its light and sweet. It might have been nice if it wasn't so sweet and it had a bit more body.
There are no noticeable layers and there is minimal longevity.
Not for me.

unlapin

I was born in 1989 and my mom uses this since 1994, so this scent reminds me of my mother and my lovely childhood. I remember being a little girl and spraying it all over my body... totally not my style but because of these emotions I bought one and whenever I really miss my mom I use this. :)

Nil3

First time looking at the notes. And I'm quiet surprised.
Thought of only 3 notes.

This is probably the softest perfume I have ever had.
So delicate and soft. A real softie.

Something a freshly new mother could use with her bundle of joy at home or even the hospital.

A real softy.
Personally I loved it!

Malinda666

I just Think this perfume is overrated. There is just nothing special with it. A plain fruity/ floral.

Julia1506

"Laura" is a subtle floral /fruity/ aquatic scent. It is gentle, clean and pretty fresh, a little bit sweet and surprisingly modern. Based on the long list of notes one can think it is a classic 90's scent, but it is not. It perfectly meets modern standards, having a good balance between different groups of notes (fruity vs floral). The scent is super wearable, not overpowering, suitable for the daily use. For me it is a spring & summer scent. The longevity is moderate, up to 4 hours on my skin. Very good value for your money.

dsty

I like that everything about Laura is so nineties, from the design of the bottle and the box to the smell itself. That makes it somehow familiar and a bit nostalgic; it reminds me of the era of my childhood, even though I don't know whether anyone around me actually wore it during that period.

The fragrance has an awful lot going on. It's fruity AND floral AND aquatic AND a bit woody AND there's a strong vanilla note, all at the same time. On paper that sounds like an absolute mess, but somehow it works. It's sweet and happy, girly, romantic, inoffensive - but way too unique to be boring. It's just utterly NICE, if there's one perfume that fits that word it must be this one.
All that, combined with the nostalgic factor, makes me like Laura very much. I have to say I don't reach for it very often, but I'm sure I want to keep at least some of it around, just for those rare days when "nice" is exactly what I want.

FireDragon76

It was given to me a couple of times between my late teens and early 20s when I liked my fragrances very sweet and on the heavier side if that makes sense. It just didn't suit my fragrance tastes at the time. I don't know if it was good or bad with my skin chemistry. 'Laura' was always gifted to me around Christmas, maybe that's it; it just didn't feel right for the season. I'll test again.I keep going back and forth on whether I want to re-try it or try the rose version. I can't see any notes in it I shoudn't like.

lepalm

I have the same experience with this perfume that Flowers-in-the-springtime described. The opening is so bland on me that I also thought I was anosmic to it the first time I tested it. The beauty of this fragrance comes out as it develops which for me is about 30 minutes into it. I'm not usually drawn to aquatics but I love this one. Very delicate, very floral, very feminine. I wear this perfume very rarely since I tend to prefer stronger bolder scents but when I do, I fall in love with it all over again. It feels like walking through a garden on early summer mornings before the dew has had a chance to evaporate.

flowers-in-the-springtime

I never expected to fall in love with this perfume as it is everything that I don't like in a fragrance, but that's the beauty of Fragrantica, where we get gifted wonderful perfumes which dispel our predjudices and open our minds to trying new things.(Thank you Yohji)
The opening of this scent is very bland on me, I am almost anosmic to the notes but it develops into a magnificent floral composition which wraps itself around me like a cloak and envelops me in this wonderful, addictive floral mist, all softened by the basenotes.

This is truly a beautiful and elegant scent.
It is quiet but responsive, floral without being typical and boring, woody without smelling like a forest and sweet but not candy.

The aquatic vibe that runs through this is truly stunning and makes this a delightful olfactory experience. It develops gradually, wafting up from time to time as a gentle reminder of it's beauty.

The longevity is very good, this review is for the EDP, silage must be good as this fragrance has been commented on when I have worn it and I have been noticed in a good way.

This is a classy and elegant lady, well recommended!

Light_Blue

Very promissiong at the beginning, but then...maybe from 90thies too much..or for odler ladies...It is not very fresh and light on my skin...But sure neutral fragance, not too heavy.

icecube

A very light fruit and flowermix on my wrist after quite a shower of perfume. Also perfectly sweet.
The problem is it is so light I have to put my nose close to my wrist to even feel it.
It is a lovely perfume but I would have needed to bath in it to be able to enjoy it.
My bodychemistry or the cold winterweather?
Will find out in some month when summer is here.

Pusur

If the femininity had a favorite scent it would be Laura. Delicate and ephemeral - when we think about this particular moment when a woman sends a glance to a man and after a second he is not sure any more if it has happened or it was his dream.

freddinos

The newest addition in my Biagiotti collection is Laura. I cannot say that I was surprised by it, since the notes pyramid is quite accurate and the descriptions very helpful. Laura is indeed a fresh floral fruity perfume that smells familiar in a 90s way. I get lots of the watermelon in the opening, but the overripe kind, or perhaps the watermelon that was sliced the previous day and maybe sat out of the fridge for a bit too long. Many soft flowers are also present, and just a faint touch of peach. Towards the drydown it has many similarities with Tempore Donna, another Biagiotti perfume from the same decade. In fact, I would recommend Laura if you loved Tempore Donna but cannot find it any more (Laura can be found on ebay.uk for really good prices). In conclusion, a nice floral fruity fresh little perfume, with a sweet and musky drydown. Recommended to all the children of the 90s for sure:))

Lakambini

One of my all-time favorite perfumes. Just when I think I’m done with it, I fall in love all over again. Laura is always ensconced in my wardrobe in some format or other. This used to cost an arm and a leg, but am grateful for the occasional summer sale nowadays, now that the perfume’s novelty has dimmed somewhat.

This was groundbreaking when it came out. This is, in a phrase, a fruity floral, but very difficult to describe. It has the lightness of an aquatic without evoking beach, lotus or sport; it has the gentle aroma of the outside of a peach without exploding into fructose, jam or fruit mix. I suppose that freesia and lily of the valley must be present, because the fragrance gives me that feeling of clear-eyed well-being I get from each of these accords, but the florals and fruit are so well-blended you can’t single out a note. A complex mix of woods gives Laura depth, though to me they are already perceptible from the first spray, and come to the fore as the notes of calone (watermelon) and the other fruits fade.

This is a youthful, but by no means juvenile, perfume. Older women can wear it too – and enhance that romantic, endearing playfulness that only comes with age. There was nothing like Laura before its release in 1994, but plenty of emulators (or homages) popped up subsequently, including at least one Hugo Boss, an Ellen Tracy and a slew of drugstore dupes.

Just beautiful.

valeriapredoiu

beautiful mellow delicate. ihad it in high-school, i want it again.

evanthie

it's a very beautiful scent, more fruity than floral as it seems to me. nevertheless, i'd use in winter only because it gets a bit too sweet and annoying when it's warm

valerie.aardahl

For me it smells like a beautiful quiet evening just before the sunset. Last days of May, a beautiful garden, where the sun shines through the fresh green leaves. So beautiful!

Cruinneach

yuck... This has some aquatic I don't know what it is that isn't nice at all... Might be the just the truth that I like much much more powdery than aquatic fragrances and they do also smell so much nicer on my skin

aficionada

It's such a beautiful scent. It's light, but not watery, dewy light. It's like air filled with floral aroma in the summery afternoon. It makes you feel so happy, feminine, and very attractive. Whenever I wear it, it draws constant attention of men and women alike.
Men want to know what I wear and buy it for their wives and girlfriends. Has good staying power. Wish they will never stop making this fragrance.

kvety

I would like to get my hand on a bottle of this...
Sometimes i like to find fragrances that are unusual and are not the NEW OUT type...

Managed to get hold of a small sample bottle and really like it... It is light and flowery, yet intriguing and dries down into a pleasant clean vanilla smell... not sure whether vanilla is in it, but something like that...

Just checked, vanilla is in it... Well done me...
So yes, this is on my Christmas list this year...

kkk

My Mom wore it for years, maybe that's why - maybe isn't - I just love it!!! It is a well recognisable(that means unique), warm, complex floral scent. I adore the lily-of-the-valley in it!
And on my Mom it was longlasting too.

KateAnette

@ Jazzku and Hollyms, i had that same experience recently with CK's Euphoria. Wonder what note turns to puke smell sometimes :D.
Laura was my signature scent for years, i wasn't even trying out other fragrances, wasn't that interested, after finding a good one. Then i got more into perfumes, and Laura was left in the drawer for a couple of years. The other day i tried it again. It still is pretty, it is fresh, and for an EdT it has great longevity on me. I do find it a bit boring now though, after sampling, and using a lot of different fragrances. It's a pretty and safe choice, if you wanna smell good, not offend anyone, and blend in to the crowd. Not that i even now like my perfume to scream "i'm here!", or fill a room, i just guess i want something a bit more complex and different now.

Perfumefreak

I like the lightness in this. The freshness also.
But to me Laura is boring. I can use it only a day and i have to put the bottle away.
Got this as a gift from a trip abroad and i refuse to give away. Was so expensive.
Maybe someday i can understand it more.

Jazzku

hollyms, I noticed the vomit smell for the first time today, logged on to read reviews, and there you said it! My Laura bottle is a little old, so i think this is something that happens if it goes bad? At least it hasn't been smelling like vomit on me until today.

arnela

This was my first fragrance, beside Cerruti 1881. I was wearing this fragrance till last year, and have it no more. Am not into it right now, but have great memories with this fragrance!

ljubinja

Hi Minjka,I am also from Riga and live in NY too!:)))And I also appreciate Laura, although I wish it was a bit stronger and lasted longer on me. So delicate,flowery-fruity perfume, a smell from my 20's..Ladies,any of you knows anything similar to it?

Minjka

Laura!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a day it was, some time in 2001, Riga, Latvia...My neighbor, sweet lady gave me this present. It was my firs prefume by designer. I felt like a fancy lady at age of 21.
This perfume brings me wonderful memmories, about Latvia (I leave in NY, USA)about wonderful friends, and being young and ready to conquer the world. 32 now, I'm still conquering and it feels like I have along way ahead of me, but with this perfulme, I will feel better, smell better.
This perfume today is underappreciated, which is not Fair, but it has a cheep price, best time to buy it ladies. I will recomend!

hollyms

I had to change my review of this perfume ever since one day someone sat down next to me and immediately asked what smelled like puke!! I brushed it off, thinking she must have been smelling something else, but now that I think of it, I can see how someone would think it smelled like vomit. Umm, no more Laura for me, ever.

Raisac

Nice, very light and delicate.

LadyNatalie

I've just found this one at Ross, at $20 bucks the 1.7oz, it's very nice, feminine, pretty! Love it!

acidburn

This is one of my favorites. I love it, it is so distinctive, recognisable, feminine and pleasant. Not overpowering, just wonderful, neither sweet, nor "fresh". Too bad it has become hard to find.
Beautiful bottle design.

madamn

I just bought Laura as a gift to my mother. It is very pleasant, gentle, and calm. Very feminine. No harsh, striking notes, even from the very beginning. They are all perfectly blended into one alluring scent. I sprayed just a little bit on my arm and it subtly reminded me about itself with every move of my hand. It is still there after 7 hours. I can imagine it would caress me like a veil if I used some more. It combined with my skin so well I feel it's me who smells so good not the perfume. Although it has a noticeable silage, it stays close to the skin so I would not be afraid of making innocent people breathe my perfume instead of the air. This is what I've been taught to be very bad manners. Perfume is an intimate thing and only people who get really close should be able to detect it.
Laura is grown up and cheerful in the same time. It is also European-style, not too sweet or "foody" which feels right to me probably just because I grew up with those kinds of scents around me.
I feel pleasure every time I bow my head to my arm. This is what I would like my man to smell when he rubs his face against my body.

Tartangirl

Very nice peachy floral scent. Despite its softness it doesn't only stay close to the skin but you can smell its presence in a very gentle way whenever you make a move. Lovely.

tiria

My auntie had it in 1994 when I was only 15. She disliked it, and occasionally let me use it. I LOVED it...and not only that sweet, feminine scent, but the fact, that it was a real perfume (OK, edt, but still)and I was allowed to use it...wow. Guess I started to grow up at that time.
End of childhood, beginning of womanhood, blossoming senses, adventure, love, excitement...how can all these things be put in such a graceful and elegant bottle?!:-D

Hyponse

I got this as a gift. It smells a bit sour on my skin, and I can`t seem to like it. Not a good perfume for me.

lara0905

Laura is the first scent what I've ever smelled...I remember how I wanted this beauty when I was teenager...and I have to say, this perfum is my favorit until this day. It's a very gentle, soft, feminin scent. When I'm wearing this I feel like a goddess and it's just lasts forever on my skin.:)

Habanita

This is quite a pleasant scent. It's gentle, a little on the acquatic side but not too fresh. Even I as a non-acquatic-scent-user like this one. It seems to last quite good. It's a good office or daytime scent. I'm not sure if I would buy it but it's at least a scent you can tolerate well on others.

olga1780

What a pleasant surprise! Laura is a very smooth floral fragrance. Very feminine, romantic and innocent. To me the composition is blended perfectly because I can't pick out any separate notes. Excellent perfume for summer time.

Pinni

My stepdad bought this parfume for my mother years ago. My mother never used it as it gave her a headache. I remember "playing" with it as a kid as it was the only parfume we had at the house and I was a little princess back then. You can probably guess that my mother wasn't that happy when she smelled it in the hallway.

To me it always smelled a bit weird. It was very sharp and fresh. I never figured out what I actually smelled in there. It was somehow messy.

Definitely not for me or my family.

Norgirl

Yes this is a georges fresh comforty smelling perfume. feels clean and fresh. the fruty notes goes so well whit the flower ,like a boquet of lovely flowers. I can almost dream that this is a fresh waterfall in a exotic place , all of nature around smelling just divine.
Somedays i just want to feel fresh and uplifted , thats when i turn to this on.
Had one 15 years ago and bought it again this year . still beautiful after all this year:)

malia

Yes!! I've bought Laura today again, after so many years. By lucky chance, for an unbelievably great price. Oooh, i guess i love this fragrance now even more... It's amazing. So very gentle, tender, soft, cuddly, smiley, heavenly beautiful.

malia

How i love this fragrance! I had it a long time ago, always wore it with a great pleasure. It is truely a very gentle, soft, romantic, feminine scent with a Mona Lisa smile. A great perfume!

oriens

I had this perfume long time back when i was in 7th or 8th grade. My friend and I were in love with it and it was our signature scent. I do not know if i can find it these days.. I wish i could.. it will remind me of those beautiful days !!

perfume_junkie

I had this perfume about 10 years ago and I must say that when I was wearing it all men ( including my boss..) were asking me :pls tell me what perfume are you wearing, it's wonderful...so this is the effect it had on them.

tschiepchen

Laura is a feminine, clean, watery, fruity floral scent and it is not sweet at all.
I bought a 50ml bottle 10 years ago and I still cherish it and only use it on special occasions but only because back then it was really expensive and me being a student at uni I did not really have the money to buy unnecessary stuff... I had to set aside some money for months just to be able to afford it.
It is a special perfume to me.

NebraskaLovesScent

Must be something about the hot summer in 2010 that is drawing me to these fruity and flowery scents. I'm not usually a big fan of this category, but I find myself wearing these a lot this year.

Laura is a really nice fruity floral (emphasis on floral) for grown-ups. It opens with warm almonds and maple syrup aroma, with a hint of chopped fresh fruit. It dries down over time to a floral woody amber, with fresh, clean musk notes in the last hour or two. Very pleasant and not at all a typical "fruit punch" fruity floral perfume. I feel totally comfortable wearing this one for daytime or office wear. It's not too sweet, not too girly. Somehow, it also suits these sultry summer nights. Very nice and fresh, with a hint of sexiness!

Laura has decent longevity for an EDT, with better than average sillage.

(I briefly owned a bottle of Hugo Boss Woman and I found Laura and Boss Woman to be almost identical scents. Just wanted to make note of it in case this info is helpful in some way.)

J'taime Guerlain

This is a summertime go-to fragrance for me, one of a few I own. A close friend of mine was given a bottle and I tried it and loved the peachy / watermelon top notes with the creamy notes underneath.

It's very lady-like and doesn't overwhelm the wearer but you can still smell wafts of it as you turn your head.
Also, I don't know if this is just me, but does anyone else think 'Laura' smells like Olay Total Effects moisturiser, the one in the pump? I love her for that.

uninco

Very nice summer smell. Fresh floral. But I would not buy it. Just not enough love.

kittymoon

I don't know what part of this perfume it is, something smelling really strange and artificial makes me not liking it.

Mochagirl

A friend had it, and we both thought this smelled like almonds - purely, almost nothing else. It's very interesting that it's not among the notes! As an almondy frangrance, it's very nice, but as a floral or fruity, well... strange.

rmnelega

First, I smelt this a few years ago, in my god-mother's house. The big coincidence is that my god-mother's name is Laura. I though it could be a caprice...coming from her. So I decided to smell it. I wasn't very pleased, at first. The only thing that really impressed me then, was the bottle. So simple, yet so sophisticated. Two weeks ago, while visiting a big mall, I tried this perfume and instantly I remembered her. This time I loved the fragrance and and I decided to buy it. I got so many compliments while wearing it, so it really worth trying it again!

bartenderbabe

This is a beautiful scent. I had a friend from Poland who used to wear this and she always smelled so good. It was the only thing she wore, her signature scent. I adore this fragrance. It's clean, fresh, innocent yet lady like. I've been on the hunt for it for awhile now. It's on my must have list. It just reminds me of springtime and frivolity.

Zocha

The opening fruity blend is so beautiful, it's like touching real fruits with your nose when you close your eyes and want to absorb as much of the incredible deliciousness as you can.
I wanted this ravishing, delicate sweetness to last forever, but shortly it transformed into my favorite flowery scent, freesias and flawless orchids. As the two flowers are gentle and sophisticated, so is Laura drydown, no effort, no shouting, beauty speaks for itself.
Absolutely feminine, gentle fragrance alluring with its refinement.

MissLola

I have this parfume en to me it smells as fresh wash laungery, the smell reminds me a lot as the clean parfums. I like it, it's fresch clean and it is not to sweet !

Lime909

This perfume was a present to me because my daughter is named Laura. I have treated it as somewhat special and kept it rather unused, but when I do use it, it's fresh and pleasant, but not in a way that I'd want to wear it daily.

It's summery and florally fresh and not overly sweet.

Very pretty flacon, I think.

defne

I've worn this perfume on & off, I feel it suits brunnetes, all the floral notes come alive with the freshness of bergamot, perfect for any age, any season, and the final result :feminine

MahinaVanila

I loved this scent since I was a child, a classic perfume for me. My mother used to wear this when I was a kid, and occasionally I used to wear it too. "Laura" is a very uplifting fresh, fruity and juicy fragrance. Watermelon and litchi really create this watery feeling in this fragrance, but the combination of flowers and a hint of vanilla turns it into a more unique and soothing scent. It is not a surprise that this fragrance is still available all these years and has not been discontinued yet. People that don't like too sweet or heavy scents will like this one, I'm sure :)

Elisabeth

A kind, floral scent for pretty summer days. Peach comes out nicely. Fresh, gentle and a bit anonymous.

Miss Fragrance

I think it's a very pleasent fragrance. I just love it, and it's absolutely not too sweet.

perfumejunkie

when i smelled this it reminded me of celine dion

Allegra

What comes to fresh and pure floral fragrances, Laura is a top classic in that group. Smells lovely and adorable and is suitable for women of any age. Not the most outstanding perfume in the market, but a good and gentle "basic" scent for many different occasions. A beautiful sunny summerday in a bottle :)

flower

I agree, when I first smelled it I thought it was ok but the more I smelled it, it started to smell artificial like shower gel or shampoo.

Aeternitas

Reminds me so much of Creed's Spring Flower. It is very bubbly and fruity with lots of florals. It smells much like a fruity shampoo or shower gel. I don't like it, doesn't match my tastes. Although there's no apple in the notes, I smell something that is much like red apple, but very faint. I also smell the watermelon, violet, and lily of the valley, with cedar on the dry down. Clean and wearable, a fragrance for the hot summer days.
