Aura is a refined, elegant fragrance. I would describe it as humble and modest, quiet and gentle. It smells leathery and floral but there is a light fruit note coming through which I would have guessed as lychee but it is obviously raspberry. I would not have ever expected to like something like this but I blind bought it after being mysteriously drawn to it and I'm so happy I did. It brings out the parts of my personality that others are most comfortable with but I always thought were the most boring things about me.

I really like/love this for day-to-day wear. It's not sexy or show-stopping and I wouldn't wear it for dates but it does attract the right sort of attention from men. It suits modest, feminine outfits with natural hair and make up looks rather than bodycon dresses, heels and full face. I find it draws people's attention in a very positive way - it gives you a safe, trustworthy allure. Aura is for someone trustworthy and honest, reliable and polite. It would definitely be work safe. I saw a review where somebody said it's a perfect interview fragrance and I agree. Would be great to wear to visit your grandmother or a friend having a hard time. Aura says "I am respectable, trustworthy and kind".

Somehow this fragrance is safe and inoffensive but the way the notes are blended make it strangely mysterious and alluring. It grows on me more and more the more I wear it. I've only had it through winter but I can imagine wearing this year round and will probably find the most use for it in Spring and Summer. New favourite and I imagine I will repurchase it when it runs out.

I got a sample of Loewe Aura Floral with my purchase and I don't enjoy that one so I doubt I will look into the other flankers but the original is great.

Aura, my love...

It's like a poem. Soft, elegant and romantic. Makes me feel a lady. Feels perfect.

arkantus

Aura, my new love absolutely! Beautiful, feminine scent.

Vicky90

Apparently now that most of Loewe's perfumes will get the uniform rectangular bottle, Aura will be discontinued! I'm happy I got to discover this before it sold out completely. It smells a little vintage, without being outdated. A smooth floral, truly a crowd pleaser I think! Would make a good gift for the casual consumer.

Cherry_Darling

To me this smells like the 90's. (I think it's the Narcissus, but my first thought was Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers) Definitely feel aldehydes in there, (though not listed) but not in the Chanel kind of way that ruins it. It's still really beautiful, smells expensive in that vintage, but good kind of way. Very floral, rose and leather to me aren't dominant at all (thankfully) slightly powdery, not a laster.

Skip this review if you don't like long personal stories
Months ago,I received a 2.7 oz bottle of loewe aura edp in a swap(about 20mil used).I exchanged it with my barely used flowerbomb rose expulsion.when I first tested "aura" I deeply regreted this swap.I loved flowerbomb rose expulsion in it's first phase but it's oudy, oily dry down nauseated me so much that I had to wash it up.but aura was very easy to wear for me.so you may ask what was to regret for?
Before that swap was done,I tested loewe aura magnetica and liked it a lot.it was like a lighter version of bottega veneta on me.it was a very tiny sample,so It was just a one-time test and I accepted loewe aura in swap based on my love for it's magnetica version.what disappointed me so much was that I couldn't pickup all these intresting notes.aura was so light on me that I had to stick my nose to my wrist to be able to sniff it.what I smelled was pleasant.a light rosey scent with non-descript fruity undertone(nothing tart like recurrent or raspberry)in a light musky-woody base.it really smelled nice but very very light and boring.I wished that I had kept my flowerbomb rose expulsion.it would look great on my shelf, besides other flankers of flowerbomb that I own.also it was very interesting and a sillage monster.at least I could enjoy it for one or two hours before it's horrible dry down
But I kept loewe aura just because my swap partner was a sweet, lovely lady and I didn't want to bother her.recently I decided to swap some of perfumes I don't use or I don't love.aura was in that list.I decided to test it once again so that I could describe it to anyone who wanted it.after about five minutes,my husband entered house and his first sentence was:what an amazing scent!is it your perfume honey?I was surprised mostly because I didn't think someone could smell it from three meters away.I asked him to sniff my skin closely and carefully and describe what he smells.he said:I don't know what is in there(usually he can easily name prominent notes of a perfume).everything is mixed very well.I asked what he liked about it.he said:"it's very ladylike.really elegant.warm and fresh.velvety.sophisticated but not old at all.gorgeous but not showy.you don't have many chanel perfumes so I know a few chanels, but this is my imagination of a chanel perfume".when I said that it's in my swap list he asked me to change my mind and keep it
I've been wearing aura in recent few days and each time I'm appreciating it more and more.I can detect rose here, but It's not a very rosey scent and I know rose haters who love aura.I can detect leather but a very soft one.the same thing goes pink pepper and fruity notes.I can feel a fruity freshness somewhere in background but I can't call it a fruity perfume and the fruity vibe here doesn't look like raspberry at all.call me crazy but it reads to my nose as quince.they just give a modern vibe to this classic beauty.I can't pickup much sandalwood here.there's definitely something woody but doesn't Show up on me as specific sandalwood note.unfortunately I can't detect iris too but I can really smell narcissus and there's a soft veil of unlisted musk.
All notes and accords sing together in harmony.none of them screams individually.I was wrong to call it boring and generic just because it's well blended.it's a light scent on me but it's long lasting.I feel that it stays close to skin but other people seem to notice it when they're not as close as arm's length so after all it may not be as light as what I feel.
If you're looking for a classy feminine scent, something that smells expensive and sophisticated, something that isn't just about florals or fruits or is not a heavy oriental, then give it a try.it can also make a good gift for +30 ladies

Beautiful but dries down to nothing. I can't smell it 10 minutes after spraying.

OlfactoryLover- Thank you for your generous compliment (& kind correction!), referring to my review just below your gracious note. My bad- Yes of course (thank you!)- Loewe is indeed a Spanish luxury goods house (not Italian).

Ugghhh! I click clicked, & accidentally deleted my prior review, + most of this revision. Re-summarized:

I had initially sampled this in Costa Rica & was entranced! I purchased a bottle back in States from Fragrantica, but the magic was gone- She seemed all fruits. I had crazy mad loved Aura upon initial sampling, so I ordered another bottle, to give her another try. So relieved i did- The sandalwood/cedar magic is back! She's all girly fruity floral flirty for 20 mins, but then the deep, dark, grown-up BDSM hint of leather & woodsy base begins to assert- Progressively so during impressive heart (8-12 hours, with moderate sillage), & especially during dry down (24 hours solid, substantial skin scent!). Aura is magic, bottled. Exquisitely blended & balanced. Hell hath frozen over: I dig a fruity floral! Bear in mind, pls, this isn't the predominant Sandal of THE reference sandalwood- Samsara. Rather, the soft, sueded leather & rare woods here are hiding in waiting, secretly, subtly teasing with their sublime, complex, juxtaposition against the heart florals & fruits, for time-released climax (+ 24 glorious hours of drydown!). Fruity floral for grown ups. Sublime purefection! Omg, I think I wrote a soft porn perfume review. Sorry so hokey!

OlfactoryLover

To the reviewer below: They are a Spanish, not Italian but thank you for the wonderful review :)

Either you have a bad batch or you may have received the EDT, Magnetica or Floral Aura. The EDT contains lychee and red fruits and the bottles do look very similar (the EDT has a lighter leather branding on the bottle)

Tussa

Those kind of perfumes, in generaly, are not my cup of tea. So I will descibe it only, without personal opinion. It is like commenting a meal made of ingrediences you do not acctualy like or eat.
So, at first sniff, it smelled so familliar, nothing from above, more like some from the past.Dare to say it has rather clasical than modern vibe. Agree with others that 3 most detectable notes are sandalwood/cedar, leather and rose, quite well blended and soft in a way. Even it has very good projection, it is not overwhelming.
It smell with quality, it smells classy, but IMO not originaly. Bottega Venta smells more interesting and contemporary.
It is inoffensive and easy to wear.

Ariella_essenzia_lux

The best way I can describe this scent is gourmand + aldehydes sprinkled with some finishing powder. It is a pretty scent but the quality just isn't there, it doesn't last on my skin.

LadyPilot

Wooow, what a beautiful, powdery scent! It reminds me a bit of my long-lost love Very Valentino - but only a tiny bit. The same delicate creamy violet note on a green, crispy background. Very, very vague rose and iris can be sensed somewhere in the distance, the woody and fruity notes are perfectly blended into a really feminine and elegant creation. It smells like a cloudy April morning to me, in colors of light lavender and mint. A true work of art!

sashazor

Top notes: Sandalwood, Leather, Iris, Cedar.

When I first sprayed this, I disliked it. The opening was far too woodsy and not sweet enough for my taste. However, the drydown is very pleasant and almost soapy (in a good way). It smells clean and elegant, yet, surprisingly warm. I do think it's a more 'mature' smell, however, and not everyone will like it. Despite other views claiming it's feminine, I'm inclined to say this would be a great unisex fragrance.

Sillage: Moderate. People will have to lean in to smell it.

Longevity: Moderate/Long lasting. About 5 to 6 hours on me.

tneequeenie

I adore the opening of this fragrance. It is so very well blended that I can not distinguish one particular note...bergamot, and something creamy??? I find it a clas$y, elegant scent but I don't really smell any leather and I see absolutely no resemblence to Bottega Veneta. My opinion changes after an hour or so when the lovely top notes have faded and I am left with a sandalwood musky scent that is nothing special. I seem to really be on the fence about this.. I can't decide whether it should stay or go. Longevity is average.

LLB_addict

Great....fantastic....opening and middle.....dry down is basically NOTHING :o(

mothwings

Starts off with mostly fresh bergamot. It briefly turns into a slightly tart fruity floral, and then settles down into a very soft feminine sandalwood and leather, still with the floral nuances. I am not getting as much rose or leather as the note voting depicts but they are noticeable. The sandalwood, fruit, floral, and violet leaf combination reminds me of Stella McCartney's Pop, but less sweet, more fresh and grown-up. Aura overall feels rather generic, inoffensive, and easy to wear. I imagine this would make a nice scent for wearing to work, in any season. It's nice and a like from me but a bit too boring--not compelling enough for my weirdo tastes.

Catty

Leather and Rose in Aura are blended to perfection.

This cent is an epitome to femininity...this leathery-creamy rose is extremely womanly, refined and classy...I would say a classical floral with a modern twist.

Aura is my most recent love...I´m happy that I discovered this treasure.

thijs_schipper

One of my favorites on my SO. I'm not going to pretend that I can pick out all the notes, but every so often I get this beautiful woody, leathery whiff when she walks past and it smells amazing.

It's warm, cozy and comforting yet elegant. Somehow the woods and leather do not turn masculine, it's probably the rose and underlying florals that do that. It's *very* sexy to me while still being something you could wear to work easily.

To me this is the scent of a confident, composed and down-to-earth woman, the kind that always has this sex appeal just under the surface.

Works best in colder climate and during the daytime, though definitely wearable in warmer weather. For her I can pick it out 8+ hours after she leaves for work.

Tussa

I can feel the woody and leather notes which adds a bit masculinity to this perfume, but it works well and it is well balanced with other notes. It is very nice and likeable, but i have feeling that I know it already. if I get it as a gift, I would definitely wear it, but I wouldn't buy it.

oks-oks

It is a nice fresh non offensive peppered rose scent from a luxury Spanish bag brand Loewe. Good for the day wear, especially great for the office. I can make out leading rose and red pepper notes, some sour note (red currant?) on a cedar base. Can't smell any particular leather or sandal. There is also a little musk in there though not listed. Overall it is an elegant ladylike rose fragrance and could be great as a summer scent if both longevity and projection were not so very disappointing. You can't smell it from skin in an hour, on clothes it will stay for couple hours with literary no projection. Would not pay the full price for it.

Edee

Try layering this over Adam Levine eau de perfume for women. Both this and AL smell very nice separately. But if you want to put more of kick in the staying power of both, combine them. Aura will be great in the spring or fall, but the staying power lacks in winter. I layer it over AL and get the best of both worlds. Cannot smell the leather in Aura, though I wish I could. I love a good leather. The roses come through, as does the citrus, which I do enjoy. I just think that in the springtime, this fragrance will bloom. Right now, for the winter, I have to kick it up a bit.

That is how I am wearing it today.

habibhafsi

when my sister wore it i was able to smell it from 2 meters away . very classy day scent . a bit soapy . after 3 days i was able to get some of it from her . beautiful bottle . highly recommended

ellenresia

I am very obsessed with Aura Loewe. I can feel the smell of elegant unity, beautiful, modern and sophisticated woman. This aura of this perfume such as a sweet elegant woman from aristocrate, walking at the garden, look around her flowers plantation and enjoy her tea time with her friends.
When I spray it, It drags me down to the bouquet of soft expensive white florals. Fresh, light, sweet like a sweet flower not a candy.
Aura loewe will give you a beautiful aura as a woman.

woodlandwalk

Very nice. This has grown on me.

Aura is a lovely balance between rose, sandalwood and slightly tart fruit notes. It feels slightly soapy, yet warm and soft. The subtle fruit is part of the composition and never dominates.

I agree with comments below that it's elegant, subtly classy, perfect for daytime wear anywhere really.

For those who enjoy Narciso Rodriguez this is not disimilar, but I prefer it, it's prettier, has more complexity and doesn't rely heavily on certain notes.
The bottle and colour reflects the tone of the perfume very well.

I see it as ideal for late summer/early autumn, since it's warm and soft yet with a tart edge, also it's light. Very relaxing yet elegant. Others have mentioned the creaminess, it's not fatty as such, definietly not indolic, just a milkiness thanks to sandalwood probably, but overall it reminds me of rosewood.

Sillage, soft. Longevity good, sprayed lightly I still get nice wafts 5 - 6 hours later

Kristina25

Classy, chic and demurely seductive! This is very beautiful. It's natural without being boring, a floral without being overpowering and a has a leather base without being animalistic (even though I love animalistic leathers - despite being a veggie! It's the tanning I think)

Anyway...its so soft! It just smells very refined and "silky" and there's been a lot of thought put into it. No note really stands out, it'd just a very comfcomfortable, harmonious floral-woodsy blanket of scent. That I think many, many women could wear be it night or day. I mostly smell a rose infused leather and some (non babyish) powder note and a very naturally woody note that's perfectly multi seasonal. It actually reminds me of Loewe's bags - very stylish!

I think anybody and everybody could make their personal twist on this. It's got signature written all over it so snap it up before it gets over worn!
*edit* I do see the same personality in Sensuous Estee Lauder but I must say the leather in this does set them both aside. One note can make a huge difference yet they're definitely related.

Goose pimples

This is a wonderful peaches and cream perfume I love it

JulieG123

Love this! Very sophisticated scent and feminine. More of a Autumn/Winter sent. It gives a lovely cosy/intimate feeling. I would wear this for either day or evening depending on the occassion. Its not overpowering at all but gives off a pleasing moderate projection. In terms of longevity, about 6 hours on me.

Mnekb

Oh, this is beautiful! It's like Estee Lauder Sensuous but less woody more creamy and sweet. I don't get the spices. To me it has a very smooth texture like cream, dove soap or Milan Erasers. Definitely feminen, elegant and pure...

dina

First whiff, it's rose oud combo in the same vein of Micaleff Rose Oud but woodier and more dense. Dry down: it's cinnamon tobacco.

A really agreeable smoky Arabian aroma that I would love to wear in winter nights. Already on my want list ;-)

Soft, tender, yet perfectly unisex!

fayegiblin

On first spray I definitely get woody - not citrus with an echo of rose... I also get the leather floating around in there and a slight orange-ness.

Unusually (and it might be just on me) I get a musky scent too that I'm not overwhelmed with in the blend. I quite like musks, but not here. Definitely one for the grown-ups but I don't think its for me.

I sense that this is one of those parfums that is really varies how it lands on different people.

beccamm

This is beautifully soft and sophisticated but Im so disappointed in how quickly it fades and once again another blind buy bites the dust! :(

Update: this is a lighter more wearable version of Estee Lauder Sensuous (to me anyway).

Arlene-Beatrix

In my opinion this fragrance is quite woody and very, very sophisticated. Ladylike for sure. Perfect for evening in a restaurant or for a party. Usually I like sweeter fragrances, but this one I like also, cause it has soul, and is not the same as million other fragrances. If you want 'not mainstream perfume' - it is for you.

genny17

I bought if after trying a sample, it is a lovely, elegant floral, I do detect a whiff of leather, it is subtle though, nothing harsh, the scent is in my opinion the best Loewe has created, better longevity, more stylish, with character, in winter it will smell great, I feel the redcurrant keeps it light and fresh enough, so it is never a big heavy floral.
It is feminine and mature, not old fashioned , just elegant and classy, yet easy to wear.

flowers-in-the-springtime

Since I am in Spain I thought I should try a Loewe fragrance, especially since I have never tried one before.
This perfume is supposed to have a leather note, maybe I am anosmic to leather, I can't smell leather in Kelly Caleche either but that doesn't mean that it's not there.
I just smell a beautiful bouquet of flowers, not sweet or fruity, but very fresh and floral. The projection is wonderful but it doesn't yell at you, rather it beckons you seductively and the longevity is a very respectable 6 hours.
This perfume gets better as time goes on and I keep getting wonderful floral wafts under my nose.
I really love this, it is a classy and beautiful scent which can be worn for any occasion and the person who wears this is sophisticated, successful, classy and modern!

busik

Leather and Rose! But the soft skin and gentle warm, not prickly rose. Very elegant, feminine and easy.

Chancer

Well this is a dark little horse! I didn't expect to like Aura but it's really quite lovely.

I'm picking up a heavy burst of jasmine which dries down to a beautiful woody leather with lingering rose. No fruitiness or berries here.
Sillage is good but not overpowering and unlike some other jasmine/rose heavy scents it isn't at all headache inducing.

Aura isn't complicated, but the woman who wears it is. She may be found working in a library surrounded by books and lost in her own deep thoughts or strolling through an Autumn shower while bright orange and red leaves flutter from the trees around her.
She is intelligent, elegant and naturally sexy.

magda14012

Got a sample at Sephora and tried it over the weekend. It starts with citrusy blow right into your face. Reminded me of Light Blue which I detest, but soon these sharp notes were gone and it went into a smooth, creamy suede, very cosy and comforting woody notes. There is a far echo of delightul roses in the background. Absolutely beautiful, feminine and sexy. Very good projection, mind you I just used a sample and still got complements on how lovely I smell.
