Prada Candy Gloss comes out in the spring of 2017 as the fifth fragrance of the playful gourmand collection Prada Candy. If you don't smell the cherry consider that your bottle might have been stored wrong as all I smell is candy, cherry and peach with a bit of almond. Delicious 😋 I want sobet now. I bought 1.7oz for $42. Loving it for Spring time! But probably could be worn any season, during the day.

Elyka21

I don't smell any cherry, vanilla or almond at all, perhaps because it's so very light. It is a very light sweet scent, slightly floral, disappears quickly from the skin. It does make me feel very clean, like I have just used a perfumed soap or body lotion after shower. It does smell like soap, shower gel or body lotion to me, not very long lasting. Perhaps it's better layered with other perfumes.

FeleciaB

I really enjoy this! Usually I go for strong vanilla/caramel/woody type scents and not fruity so this is more unique to my collection but it's honestly such an easy reach and I always enjoy it when i wear it. It's lasting power is mediocre but I enjoy it while it lasts and got it pretty cheap on fragrancenet so I don't mind respraying. It's cherry and almond with a small touch vanilla- the vanilla isn't the star, the cherry is IMO . I dont smell rose. It was surprised how much I liked it. I enjoy Prada candy night and the OG candy as well.

primadoll

Smells like waxy cherry lipstick. It’s more of a fantasy smell it’s just so incredible. It does have this fizzy / acidic feeling when it’s sprayed, then it settles into that lipstick thing I was talking about. It’s so chic and feminine. Truly feminine and not trying to appease to any sexual fantasy/male gaze. The lack of depth is what I love about it too, it doesn’t need to be complicated. It’s so easy to wear too, always gets compliments.

catina

It’s cloying. Cherry, but so powdery. Giving it away.

cherriblossomss

i actually love this - it's DEFINITELY tacky, probably too much for someone who likes a lighter fragrance, but for an egregiously tarty bitch like me its just right. the cherry note is super sweet and strong, really does smell like a cherry lollipop, and the undertones are almost waxy and powdery, like old makeup. definitely not something for everyone, but i love it.

swansong444

so cvnty. a literal cherry bomb. not in a candy way, it’s more lipsticky and mature, like a cherry-scented lip gloss or lipstick. not too juvenile but still fun. the name is very fitting lol

vildeska

I really like it, but it is sweeter than other cherry perfumes I have smelled. So if you’re not fond of sweet perfumes, I think you might find this sickly sweet.

BuckeyeBeauty

Love this scent. So almondy and girly I actually spray my pillows with this. It lasts foreverrrrrrrrr! When I finally realized this just smells straight up like lipstick it was an ah hah moment. Totally smells like makeup!

Edit: does anyone find this similar to Juliette has a gun “mmmm”?

vanilladoll

this was my signature perfume in high school. my best friend bought it for me as a christmas gift and i wore it every single day. even after the bottle ran out, i kept it on my dresser and would smell it occasionally since some of the scent still lingered. it was my favourite scent at the time. very sweet but the vanilla note makes it creamy and delicious. when it dries down it turns more soft and powdery. not my kind of scent anymore but still very yummy. sad to hear it got discontinued!

edit: Y’ALL. my friend found this perfume for me for christmas. IM SO HAPPY! i sprayed it right away and i can’t stop smelling myself. such a soft sweet cherry smell, exactly how i remembered it!!! i take back what i said about this not being my kind of scent anymore. i want to drink it!!! this is definitely the most girly scent i own now.

ManueM

I loved this perfume! It smelled delicious 🥰. I was sad to know that they discontinued it 😔! The only 2 down side was that it didnt smelled long enough and it was pricey for a EDT.

RandomPatterned

The dry down of this reminds me of a less powdery Jimmy Choo Illicit with added fruit. Pleasant and youthful.

Jonesdea90

Layer with Dossier Ambery Cherry/TF Lost Cherry. Thank me later

I kept putting off smelling Candy Gloss because I was afraid the vanilla would be too overpowering - I used to have a bottle of Candy Kiss, which was beautiful in theory, but the vanilla note constantly gave me a headache. While I've been searching for a new Fall/Winter scent, I decided to pull the trigger and try Candy Gloss anyway, and I'm so glad I did. While I don't think I'd wear it in warmer months, the vanilla is not overpowering at all, and pleasantly gives the fragrance a cozy feel. As a lover of lipstick scents, I'm not sure I would qualify Candy Gloss as one, but I still love the cherry, almond, and heliotrope notes present. This fragrance is definitely a case of better late than never for me!

Turg

I love the opening. You can smell the cherry and cassis, very original and pleasant. But when all of that dries down the scent becomes sickening, at least for me. It's not something very overpowering, but it's disgusting.

Fragnant

Hot Cheetos girl classic

CandyAlice

Oddly enough, I don’t smell any cherry in this. What I DO smell is sweet freshly squeezed guava juice, and a glossy powdery lipstick note. LOVE it nonetheless!

Laura Afonso Fernandes

This is a fragrance that speaks directly to my teenage self. It's the kind of scent I would have fallen head over heels for. What I love most about it is that it manages to be absolutely amazing without being overpowering or offensive. It embodies a playful and youthful energy that effortlessly catches attention in the most delightful way.

This is the perfect fragrance for those who, like me, want to embrace their youthful spirit while leaving a sweet and memorable impression. It's a scent that captures the essence of my younger self and brings back cherished memories.

nympholepsy

smells like the really trashy but really sweet girl in your class you wish you could be friends with but she intimidates you for some reason even tho she always has gum or pens to spare and hugs you on your birthday and you with you could stay wrapped in her cherry candy & lipgloss aura

the sour cherry transitions harmoniously and v smoothly in a cherry lipgloss scent

you wear her pink glossy lip print on your cheek all day and smile when she waves at you

sweetjess

LOVE LOVE LOVE except... I wish the cherry stayed around for longer!!!
The sour cherry for the first minute is tantalizing, I haven't smelt anything like it. This then turns into a straight cherry note for a while which is delicious - but not long enough for me... maybe only 20-30 minutes :( The base notes of Vanilla, Almond and subtle Musk set in after the cherry fades - they also smell fantastic but are pretty basic and could be sought out from other perfumes with heavier sillage. Overall it's easily one of my favourites but I wish the first half of the fragrance was the whole thing.

Peachyportia

Okay update, this has taken over as my favourite fragrance! It's so beautiful for everyday use.

NoMilkToday

It doesn't remind me of anything, because i cannot smell it at all! The worst bb ever.

druxyroses

The ultimate "La vie en rose" scent. I associate it with all slightly translucent pink things: jelly pink nails, lip gloss, and of course, rose stained glass. Don't let the sour cherry and cassis scare you. This is a very sweet scent and isn't boozy or heavy like many cherry scents on the market. I notice cherry, vanilla, almond, and heliotrope the most. Reminds me of cherry lip gloss at times (name is fitting). Not sure why they would discontinue it. It's the best Candy flanker out there.

Peachyportia

A medicinal cherry open with a very powdery musky dry down! I absolutely love it. This is a maturer fragrance for me, I seem to like very sweet fragrances. Its not sickly sweet. A great one to have in a collection

Rose1412

Sweet artificial cherry that later develops into a comforting powdery sweet scent.

tiger_eyes_

Best in the Candy line imo. Why discontinue it??? Ugh

oakmossbaby

I blind bought this at Winners and ngl I regret it a little bit. I was expecting it to be a lot fruitier. I do get a strong note of cherry when I fist spray it, but it quickly goes away and becomes almost cloyingly sweet and powdery, which isn't my preference. Luckily, after a while some of the tartness of the fruit notes comes back and I also get a bit of the almond note, so I'll still be able to get some use out of it. I might also try layering it with some of my other frangrances like I've seen suggested.

Vellocet

This is so beautiful! Powdery, sweet and feels almost matte in a way? Hard to describe. Fluffy and velvety at the same time. The airy vanilla and the powdery heliotrope is a gorgeous combination! The cherry is there, but it’s mostly lingering in the background. This and candy kiss are the best of the flankers! Unfortunately you have to re spray often because the longevity is poor.

Kyla12

I fell in love with cherry scents after blind buying guess seductive red. So i bought prada candy gloss for the cherry note. Its a nice sweet smell, but i dont get as much cherry as i get in seductive red. I may need to keep testing this one as iv literally just got it, but for now GSR still remains my fave cherry perfume. This one does smell like cherry chap stick, has a makeup/cosmetic sweet smell. Its soft, & sweet. I would love to smell prada candy original one day to compare.

SophiaViolette

A tart and sour cherry opening, sweet like candy! Then appear fresh fruity notes, definitely the cassis/blackcurrant, making the opening syrupy.

After 15mins, slowly noticing it’s switching to cherry-peach, with some rose in the back. Then I get nutty notes and vanilla, with hints of cherry still there.

But only 2 hours later, on my skin it just smelled like a fruity shampoo… I think it’s a perfume I’ll just spray a bit on top of another perfume. I just really like the opening, makes me swoon every time!

I gotta say, this isn't nearly as synthetic / plasticky as I was expecting.
I was prepared for an waxy twizzler or a literal oily cherry lip gloss.
But the almonds and heliotrope in here actually give it a warm, dry powdery accord that is almost reminding me of leather. It's not sour, wet or juvenile.

If you layered this with even a tiniest hint of spice, you'd be in the same family as the ever-popular TF Lost Cherry.
Seriously, I put this over a spritz of Replica Across Sands and it was just boozy, medicinal cherries galore. (that also brought it into cool-weather territory)

But as everyone mentions, this doesn't last or project AT ALL! I sprayed both my skin and clothes all over and it was 70% faded within the first hour.
I'd like to experiment with this in warmer weather. Might be cute and light for spring time!

RoGo72

Prada Candy Gloss is a simple, light cherry scent. It starts out tart then tones down to a barely there cherry, vanilla, musk fragrance. No matter how much I spray this one never gets any stronger. Projection is nonexistent & longevity doesn’t last more than a few hours. I only wear it when I’m around my home.

candi_n_spice

I've owned a bottle of this for a few years now. It was a blind wish list gift that I'd added based on the notes, pretty bottle, and good deal. I've semi-regretted it ever since, trying to wear it again and again, but always being a little disappointed by both the simplicity and the poor performance. I wish I got all the listed notes, but for me this is almost 100% cherry. Maybe a SMIDGE of peach, vanilla, and musk, but mostly just fruity sweetness, mostly cherry. I like cherry, but usually go for more complex frags, with deeper notes to add interest to the sweet ones. I noticed some reviews say it's complex, but idk, not getting it.

All that to say, I've found the solution! It's brilliant as a layering scent. So far, I've been layering it with Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge Gloss, and it's my favorite now! MMLRG is an cherry frag that DOES have depth, it's sexy and amazing, and unfortunately discontinued! Well, I found that layered with PCG, I can use less, so it will last longer, as I won't be able to repurchase. It really enhances the cherry note! I think it also lasts longer when added to the stronger base, but maybe I'm imagining that. The end result is still more spicy and sultry than PCG alone, but also a little more girly and fruity than MMLRG alone. Husband complimented it right away, and I absolutely love smelling it on myself too!

I think this would work with any more complex cherry frag, like Guerlain La Petite Robe Noir Black Perfecto, probably Lost Cherry, etc. I think it would also complement something like a seductive woody vanilla amber musk type, or probably many with a fruity note, many gourmands and orientals. Would go nicely with something chocolatey too, as chocolate covered cherries are my favorite candy. The ones with brandy, of course. I'll experiment more, but the combo I found is too perfect, and I'm just so happy to be able to finally enjoy this perfume!

Pat_Chouli

Cherry cake scent. Sour only for the first minute, and then once it dries it immediately softens. There's a lot going on here: Simultaneously warm, cozy, and musky, bright and punchy, and powdery/cosmetics-like. It took me three wears of this to really unravel it in my mind, but now that I have processed it, I love it. A must-sample if you like cherry and/or almond. Also it is somewhat similar to the other Candy flanker which I love, Candy Kiss, with its orange blossom and musk.

raw umber

Heliotropin provides a tobacco-like facet to this super sweet cherry composition. Having read many reviews describing sour cherry, tart candy etc., I was expecting an Escada-like Ring Pop of a fruity floral, but to my surprise I instead found a dense, powdery musky orange blossom tobacco, with a cherry jam giving the whole effect a pink glow. I'm strongly reminded of the discontinued Fleur Defendue Lolita Lempicka in the yellow glass apple.

Almond powder is detectable but this does not read as a primarily almond scent at any point, with the primary elements being vanilla, cherry jam, solar orange blossom, thick powdery heliotrope, and clean skin musk. I can see this scent being too heavy for hot weather, but fall, winter and spring are perfect for it. I have been layering it with Frederic Malle's Lipstick Rose to add some billowing cooling violets and roses to the orange blossom/heliotrope's warmth. Gorgeous perfumes both individually and together.

Pia20

Candy Gloss is very girly and youthful. Tart cherry for its opening but then turns into a sweet cherry. Dry down is fantabulous with vanilla and almond mixed together, my favorite part when I put this on.

CeeTheAurtist

This is cute and juvenile. I do enjoy the smell but I only wear it around the house or to the gym. I usually cherish the sprays of my other fragrances but this one I spray freely. It’s mehhhh at best.

P_a_p_e_rcuts

To me, this is very airy, light and sweet. This is what I wanted Guess Seductive Red to smell like, and they are similar in my opinion, but this is longer lasting and stronger. There is a juiciness from the cherry and peach, and the almond and vanilla dry down lovely and smooth.

beta-ionone

When I first tested it, it smelled like your typical cheap cherry flavored lipgloss you'd find at drugstores-- which of course it has the name "Candy Gloss" so why would I have expected anything otherwise. It's a scent most would associate with fragranced cosmetics marketed toward tweens without smelling too sharp and artificial the way cherry scented drugstore body sprays and lip glosses smell. Around that time I was wearing Black Opium and I'd sometimes get compliments on that one but when I felt that was too mature I started buying Candy Gloss because it was a sweet and comforting scent to me-- I wasn't trying to impress anyone with Candy Gloss. The initial spray has an undertone of smelling like Play-Doh-- I'm guessing that's the almond scent in it. I am sad they discontinued this one but I can understand why, because it's kind of a specific scent that alot of people might find off-putting or remind them of cheap cherry cosmetics. I bought this one alot and threw away all the bottles and now all I have is a small travel roller that I occasionally roll onto my collar of my clothes when I want to enjoy the smell. Prada Candy is okay but I prefer Candy Gloss and some of the other flankers.

DebiL1211

Shame on Prada for discontinuing this one. It is a very sour cherry at first but it is sweet, musky, vanilla with the cherry being present the whole time. At least it is on my skin. I typically spray 8 to 10 sprays and get about 4 hours before I need to refresh. I love it and will be sad when my two bottles are used up. Who knows, maybe they will bring it back by then.

viktorijavla

It's so nice, not similar to Lost Cherry at all. Candy Gloss is is more sour and cosmetic-y smelling.
Pretty good lasting power for an EDT. Wish it lasted longer!

Lykopa

Starts off in the first 15 seconds smelling like cherry cough syrup, which I don’t mind at all. It settles into a less boozy version of Lost Cherry. After a bit longer, the cassis shows up, but it really compliments the scent! I warn you thought, this is NOT for layering. It’s an absolute beast of a scent. This smells exactly like cherry candy throughout the day, so if those are your favorite LifeSavers, this is for you!

iluvsmells

lackluster, imo. like a ditzy girl just got out of the shower after using some cheap fruity body wash.
however, that may be your thing, and in that case you should give this one a try.

update: i’ve actually grown to like this scent. it smells like a sour cherry gummy. however, you need to spray multiple times to get the full effect and it doesn’t have much staying power. i would buy this if i saw it on clearance at tj maxx, but definitely wouldn’t pay full price for it. it’s nice though.

chuuka

this smells just like a cherry lip gloss <3

tally2ball

Snagged this one b/c it is discontinued. So sad. To my nose this is a sweeter more feminine Tom Ford Lost Cherry. And I may even prefer this one! It is a sweet sweet scent. The initial spray for me was questionable. But 20 min later it settled into a nice blend. Like the other Prada Candy line, this one doesn't give me headaches, so yay!

finnlinn

Bought a 100ml bottle since it is discontinued. At first sniff and spray it smells brighter than it actually is, I blame the orange blossom for that haha. It settles quite nice. Does smell like cheap hairspray when you spray it, but switches over to a sour cherry within minutes. I sadly don't get much almond from this. It's more powdery than fruity/nutty imo. If you're looking for a perfect sweet cherry almond fragrance this isn't the one for you.

I get what people mean when they compare it to Chanel no5. It has the same dry vanilla musk quality. I can't believe this doesn't have aldehydes in it. Maybe my nose is broken. I will say that the slight fruityness makes Prada candy gloss arguably less grandma-smelling. I wish I liked the florals in this better 🥲
Will try this out during fall/winter/spring and see if i like it better as it is more warm.

Update: Wore it today in the cool sunny weather on skin. Disappears so quick, but smells way better. Reapplied in the evening on clothes (synthetic pajama shirt) with multiple sprays and suddenly the cherry pops out without being sour. Lasts longer on cotton, but smells amazing on polyester.

Miocielo23

Very very sweet and warm

Sparkleball22

Wow. This is to me, a very sensual fragrance! I couldn’t ID the cherry at first spray! Tried to think but PINK was flooding my brain. Then I saw cherry in the notes and it made sense.
It’s delicious and creamy smooth, deep and dense and very very cherry vanilla. It’s so well done, not juvenile but feels like a grown up who likes to have fun. Yummy gourmand sweet but has a depth I can’t explain, maybe that’s the almond and benzoin in the base?
Update: Maybe it’s hormones but this made me kind of sick last time I wore it. The scent was overpoweringly sweet and cloying like I was choking on thick, sweet, cherry syrup. I hope this was a fluke but now I see why some folks don’t like it.
Has a short projection life, then becomes a close personal skin scent for many hours afterwards. Forever and a day on clothes!
Hope my nose learns to like this again or it’s going into my declutter cabinet!

Candylover666

I blind bought this after seeing the notes and reviews and I expected a Prada candy scent with some added cherry but It doesn’t smell like Prada candy at all, it smells like it’s own perfume.
It’s a lot more sour than I expected it to be so I am quite surprised that in the main accords it says sweet.
It’s a nice smell but as a sweet gourmand fragrance lover this is not something I would buy if I had a chance to smell it before purchase.
It opens with a very sour cherry, green scent and after and hour turns into something sweeter. I have to admit I did not like this fragrance the first time I used it but it grew on me within the next few days.
The vanilla and benzoin in this is hardly detectable, it smells just fruity and green to me and I really wouldn’t call this fragrance a gourmand.

Grremily00

A beautiful powdery cherry/almond scent. I wore this doing errands the other day and when I walked into a store, the male cashier said, “Oooooh wow, you smell amazing!” (He was super handsome too, but had a wedding band on 👎)

I actually got this scent a while ago. I went through my collection recently and took out all the perfumes I hadn't been reaching for, this one included, I listed them for sale on Mercari one by one, when I got to this one, instead of posting it for sale, I stared to test it again, it was…. interesting, sweet, tart, powdery. I took it out of the “sell” pile and decided to give it another chance. I’ve been testing it all week and am so glad I didn’t sell it!

Sometimes you just have to warm up to a perfume, sometimes it isn’t love at first smell! I felt this same way about Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia. I’ve learned to give myself longer testing times instead of going off of 1 test only.

mayrizzlemynizzle

i made my mom smell this and she loved it she said it smells like a barbie lol i think at first when sprayed it smells like cassis with a hint of cherry then it slowly turns into a very rosy but still fresh rose scent with slight peach hint then dries down to mainly heliotrope with almond and tiniest vanilla hint. it’s so yummy i think it was supposed to smell like a lipgloss/lipstick and it succeeded a bit lol it does remind me of a high end lipstick smell and also very nutty and powdery vanilla as the dry down scent it’s so lovely 10/10

Sodastream83

There is a note in the drydown in this that I can't stand, but I can't put my finger on what it is. Someone else said there is a note in here that reminded them of sunscreen, and yes I think we're on to the same thing. It makes this fragrance smell a bit stale and impossible to love for me. Too bad, I had such high hopes for it.

Edit: This note I'm talking about is also present and even stronger in Prada candy night. Is it the musk? Whatever it is it ruins both fragrances so I have to sell them both. Too bad.

epona1705

I don't get the cherry at all. Funny, when I sprayed this, it took me back to my mother in the early '70s. My mother smelled like this. To me, I get whiffs of my mother's VO5 hairspray, her ban roll-on antiperspirant and baby powder. I guess I will have to thoroughly test this fragrance out

tiger_eyes_

When I sprayed this for the first time I couldn’t decide if I like it or not. The opening has a certain sharpness that was bothering me. But then the drydown happened and it was divine. Such a beautiful and not overly sweet cherry. Lasts pretty long both on my skin and my clothes.

So sad this was discontinued. It’s such a gorgeous and interesting fragrance.

H0neybee

Smells like Cherry Skittles mixed with the smell of sweet roses, vanilla and almonds! Yummm! I’m in love with the cherry note in this; the cherry note in this is sweet with that slight sourness to it. I enjoy wearing Prada Candy gloss. This is my everyday scent and I get compliments every time I wear it.

PS: I’m sad this was discontinued :( I’m going to enjoy my last bottle while it lasts.

fformoso88

I really love this fragrance! It’s such a gorgeous cherry, almond, vanilla fragrance. I just wished they had it in an EDP instead of an edt it doesn’t last that long at least on my skin but it is gorgeous. It kind of smells like TF lost cherry but not as mature or spicy as that one. Like I said I wish it lasted longer. Not that I mind reapplying. I think I still like TF lost cherry better having tested it out a few times

LindaLuv

My signature scent. Dries down like warm spicy vanilla and almonds on me. Lasts LONG on clothes. Just yumm. I’ve got 3 unopened bottles.

AuraAngelMuse

I've only tried Prada Candy Gloss and Prada Candy Night. Both have some odd note that smells just like sunscreen. I'm not sure if it's the powdery note in both, because they both smell very powdery. Prada Candy Gloss smells like powdery cherry cough drops for me. This projects well and lasts a good amount of time(on clothes, I don't typically waste perfume on my skin anymore as my skin just eats up the scent and most are gone after a couple hours.) Probably won't repurchase unless this turns into a love down the road. For now I like Lolita Lempicka as a soapy/powdery/ sweet cherry scent and it's cheaper than this too.

Fiaooo

Has yet to get the chance to compare it to Zara or TF, but on its own I do like it a lot.

Different from what I remembered of the other Candy flankers I tested few years back. A sweet cherry scent with vanilla, almonds and some florals in the background. Leans a bit powdery.

Do wish they have it in the EDP, scent lasts for about 2h average before becoming a skin scent. Though it does a bit longer when you reapply during the day.

laurenannika

This is THE cherry fragrance for me. It’s so purely cherry with a hint of vanilla and orange blossom, it’s absolutely gorgeous and so underrated. I enjoy TF Lost Cherry but I find it wears way too woodsy and the cherry doesn’t stick around long enough, when I found this instead at a massive discount I was disappointed I ever spent the money on the TF

Jasmindee

The perfect perfume for spring.

This smells like the sweetest, juiciest cherry lip gloss. Sweet, sugared cherries on a caramelised vanilla base with just a touch of rose and peach to add a light, carefree aroma while the almond and orange add some depth. I thought this was going to be very syrupy and too much but Prada Gloss is such an effortless, lightweight perfume.

I want to put on my prettiest pink dress adorned with a cherry print and frolic around on a date with my partner. It's just so unapologetically feminine and smells sooooo good.

Oh, I like this. Maybe even love it. Wow, what a mood-booster!

Tntanakis

this is sour cherries candy with lots of orange blossom vanilla and almond. It projects very well on me it lasts all day even longer on your clothes and in your hair too.

i find it way way too powdery in the winter but on a slightly cold day during spring this is perfect to me too heady for hotter summer days imo

its not my all time favourite but its is very nice good quality bang for your buck if u like fruity florals its hard to be dissapointed by this.

Patvana

Smells like cherry gloss in a hot summer weather, wearing pink sun dress, very feminine and girly. SUPERRRR sweet. Personally I love sweet perfumes, but me being goth would not be able to pull this off. I love how it smells it’s just not me. If you’re looking for a sweet feminine with heavy vanilla base then this is for you.

samantham-123

I like this. I don't know if I'd say it smells like gloss, but more like cherry pez lollies lol.
Starts off with a strange powdery playdough smell then cherry pez throughout. Actually mart a fair while on skin considering its an edt, about 4 or 5 hours. Good, but prefer the og candy

ivonne.flores

I had this fragance and i loved it because it's sweet , sexy and it's a perfume with compliments because wherever you're somebody will feel it but i don't like its durability, it's from 1 or 2 hours maybe 3 hours max. However it's a fragance very wearable although i wouldn't recommend it in summer day as it tend a little heavy, in general i think it's a great and dovelike fragance if you like sweet and sugared scents.

marilyn62

Oh my gosh. Prada Candy Gloss is stunning!! I have owned this for three days now and it is definitely a love! On initial spray I can smell the sour cherry and this hangs around on me for about an hour or so, and then it settles down into a sweet vanilla almond that i absolutely adore. I do not get the cough syrup vibe at all from this perfume. And it stays on my skin all day and I can smell that sweet vanilla almond scent on my clothes the next day! This is so nice! I wish I had purchased a bigger bottle as this is discontinued. (Seriously considering a backup...)

Edit (02/11/22): Aaaaaand I just bought a backup since this has been discontinued and I love it so much!

Catnipple

I've been on a hunt for the perfect cherry fragrance (there isn't enough cherry fragrances out there believe it or not) and i think i finally found her! Gloss is basically a sweeter version of TF's lost cherry minus the liquor and woody notes, and the longevity is even better! Absolutely adore it. 💕 🍒

I blind bought this fragrance with the original Prada Candy. Both fragrances I was highly disappointed in and will be returning. This fragrance is sickly sweet and somewhat reminds me of cherry cough syrup. I’m not one to shy away from sweet fragrances but this settles bad on my skin.

I wish I could leave a full review but unfortunately this lasted maybe 10 minutes on my skin. I own Prada Candy, Prada Candy Night and Prada Candy Kiss and they all have amazing longevity, I wish this one was an EDP as well because the notes are lovely!

Soccergreat88

I am selling or swapping my 80ml if anyone is interested.

Soccergreat88

This is nice, nicer than the original Prada Candy for sure. It is a sweet, shampoo-y cherry scent. Quite artificial and juvenile but well blended and easy to wear for day time. Anyone can wear this and will be playful yet probably mass pleasing. It doesn't have the longest longevity since its an EDT but it has good projection in my opinion.

madisondean97

starts off as a bright and tart cherry scent that i find delightful. the dry down ends up smelling exactly like mmmm by juliette has a gun to me. since i already have that, i feel like i don’t need candy gloss. if only that cherry top note lasted a little longer!

Kathy Reed

I’ve been testing this perfume for a few months now and I can say this is so pretty! Definitely super sweet, when you first spray it, it has a very sour and bitter cherry which to my nose smells like the cherry is spoiled at first, but after maybe a minute this fragrance becomes more and more sweet, becoming a sweet sugary cherry with a hint of a sweet almond note, is one of those fragrances that it gets prettier and prettier as it dries dow, the base notes and the middle notes are amazing, could easily be a signature scent, longevity is good last on my skin for more than 7 hours, sillage is also good, if you are looking for a sweet cherry scent this is perfect very youthful warm and flirty

cherryluver

I never wrote a review before but this scent is so good I have to! It's my favorite perfume and I'm surprised how underrated it is... It's so much better than the original Prada Candy in my opinion. Bought this because some people said it reminded them of Lost cherry by TF. I tested both and they smell 95% similar on my skin. Smells like the cherry sour patch kids, with a hint of lemon and peach. Very sour, but that's what I love about it. It's delicious and playful, and it has become my new date night scent. For someone who usually wears « young » scents, this one feels quite fancy, but I get that if you prefer more mature scents this one might not be for you. Otherwise, if you love citrus/sour scents that lean toward gourmand, Lush perfumes or Sol the Janeiro, I feel like you would love this. Also, it's quite affordable for a designer perfume if you go on discount websites! I got mine at FragranceNet :)

PekoeMint

Overall, I like this one because the dry down is so good. It's not a love because the initial spray and first 15 minutes is a very sharp sour cherry and chemical scent (probably due to the cassis note). Once it dries down, it starts to smell better over time.

It transitions into a cherry Jolly Rancher scent then the vanilla emerges and it softens to a very comforting cherry vanilla and almond cloud in the end.

In my opinion, this is not a safe blind buy. I recommend trying it out and giving it at least 30 minutes to journey through the full cycle of the perfume.

Swedelish

I reviewed Candy Gloss a few years ago and I liked it at the opening, but something wasn't quite right as it developed on my skin. I decided to play with it again and I have new thoughts. Instead of talking about how it smells, I'm gonna explain why this perfume no longer works for me.

Peach. Oh how I wish they would have left it out. The yummy, juicy, albeit slightly synthetic cherry, heliotrope, almond, vanilla, musk do good things together on my skin. But, no matter how insignificant a role peach plays in a fragrance, without fail it always always shows up and ruins the party. In Candy Gloss the peach certainly isn't a main note, but it adds a totally unnecessary rotten-fruit-meets-dustiness to this and everything else it touches. I can't bring myself to get past this note in perfumery. If someone could please create a peach note that smells like um, peaches, I'd be the first to try because I love peaches irl and I hate that I hate it so much in fragrance.

So yeah, everything else about it is perfectly pretty and nice. It could have been one of my favorite fruity fragrances had it remained the same from top to finish. It has a uniqueness but is familiar at the same time. It's fun and easy to wear. Lasting power is poor. If you like the cherry, almond, vanilla combination AND peach, you will like this. It's a less powdery, more fruity take on the lipstick/lipgloss trend.

Did you ever use a chapstick called Flava Craze in the 90s/00s? They came in a 3 pack of blue raspberry, grape, and cherry/strawberry. Prada Candy Gloss smells just like opening a new pack of those lip balms, when the faint scent of each flavor would mingle together, complete with the waxy undertone. This is not a sharp, fresh, crisp cherry but rather a syrupy, overripe, pleasantly artificial cherry, and it is well-blended; definitely a case of the whole being more than the sum of its parts. I enjoy this fragrance purely for nostalgic purposes.

Kathy Reed

At first my gut feeling told me to not blind buy it but I was too stubborn so I did anyways, when it arrived I was expecting something so different, the top notes of sour cherry and cassis make it smell like the cherries are spoiled, at first I felt so disappointed, then that smell goes away really fast, and then it becomes a very sweet powdery sour cherry almond scent it’s not bad, not what I was expecting but it’s not bad, I think this is a very girly and young scent, I’ll have to test it more, I do think it’s a unique scent I’ve never smelled something like this before, I think this cherry resembles a little bit of the cherry in Guerlain petite noir (these both perfumes don’t smell the same but the cherry note is similar ) it’s not a sweet cherry, it’s a sour acid cherry that gives an edge to the perfume, the almond and vanilla make it super sweet so the sourness it’s unnoticeable, other than the very weird opening that thankfully fades away within 5 seconds, I think this scent is flirty and pretty I like it!

Jessie292

I love the sweet cherry opening notes, almost like a cherry candy. Then it's gets to this almond and to me it feels cozy and warm and safe in a way. Would definitely wear in the colder months.

Sillage is not fantastic but longevity is good on me.

greten55

This was way to sweet for my taste.

stigmataxe

This is a very youthful scent. It smells like sweet sour cherries. Much sweeter than the OG Prada Candy. It's like a cherry lollipop in a bottle. It's not mature and it doesn't have much depth or strength, but those are positives for me. Leaves a light pleasant scent without you clouding up the whole room with perfume. Similar to Candy Kiss, it smells nothing like the original. In my opinion, it smells better! Reminds me of early 2000's it-girls with cherry lipgloss and heart shaped sunglasses.

gauzyguava

I love Candy and thought I'd try Candy Gloss. It does have a similar backbone, but I wasn't expecting the cherry to be so incredibly overwhelming. To me, it smells like those cheap cherry-shaped air fresheners you hang from your car rear-view mirror. I can't get over how similar the smell is. Alas, I will use this one as a car spray.

trixiesalamander

Heads up! I just saw this put on sale at shoppers drug mart, with a sign saying it’s discontinued.

crizzy

I smelled cherries, peaches and roses at first but once it dried down all I could smell was musk and almonds. I couldn't even smell if after about fifteen minutes. A definite no for me.

Normally I do not wear gourmand scents. I also do not lean toward oriental fragrances. I wear clean fragrances like Clinique Happy. But occasionally and especially in winter, I wear almond noted coconut lotions and get tons of compliments. I had a sample of the original Prada candy I had worn in the winter and my husband loved it. I kind of liked it, but found it oriental. I believed it to only work in winter and after I used the sample, winter was over and moved back to my clean scents. I started to want to smell like almonds and cherries in the summer And started to get tired of my clean scents so I figured I would blind buy Candy Gloss. I can’t smell any cherries or almonds or caramel. Candy Gloss is a powdery oriental on me! Not really enjoying it but I will keep trying it. So strange. If I buy Prada Candy, it will be the original. That has this nutty “pecan turtle” quality to it and I find it kind of sexy and not childish even though it is considered gourmand. But this Candy Gloss is not cheerful candy to me.

DaniBear1121

I absolutely love this fragrance, and prefer it easily over Candy Kiss, which seems an unpopular opinion. I get the cherry and almond distinctly, while all the other notes blend beautifully on me. Not sure what I'm doing differently but this actually has great longevity for me, 6+ hours. It's vampy to me, definitely date night appropriate, but could also work during the day.

fanntonyoscar

This smells beautiful, but like the rest of Prada’s Candy line, no performance.

SallyGirl

Blind buy and I’m not impressed. I use these sorta puck shaped cherry air fresheners in my car (you know the ones) and it’s identical to PCG. Like remarkably the same. It’s making me laugh a little, not gonna lie 😂😂. Obviously I enjoy the scent otherwise I wouldn’t put them in my car but, I’m not sure why a person wants to smell like it. So in conclusion, great car scent! Not so great person scent 🍒🚘

aprilsandoval0704

Just got this and I'm not sure what's going on lol it reminds me of cherry chapstick? It's not unpleasant but I don't think I want to smell like waxy cherries either lol we'll see...
The bottle is adorable 😍

dracula

my personal favorite scent. Nothing too flashy. I wear it almost daily. It's sweet, feminine and smells more like actual candy than the original, in my opinion. It doesn't last very long, but I suppose if it were any stronger it'd be too syrupy and offensive, so I can't complain. It's a good scent for a young lady becoming a woman (17-24) or grown women with a case of arrested development such as myself

scissorhandedly

Indeed, sour cherry... and not in a good way. It smelled intriguing when first sprayed, but it got old and overwhelming very quickly. Literally, it got old - soured and cheap and not refreshing at all.

Fleurie20

I blindbought this simply because I love that shade of pink of the bottle lol. I used it lavishly for 3 days straight before reading anything about it in order not to let my opinion unknowingly dictated beforehand.

Given the name Candy Gloss and the gorgeous pink shade of the bottle, this perfume is surprisingly not gourmand sweet. It leans more sour than sweet, which makes it fresh enough to be used during a sunny spring morning or a breezy summer day. I have to make it clear thou that I don't mean Candy Gloss to be a fresh, airy scent, but it carries enough tartness to be more useable in different times of days and during the year.
And yes, the sour cherry is pretty synthetic, like someone below has mentioned - reminiscent of cough syrup, but not cloyingly so. Surprisingly, I am not offended by this in any way.

Like all Prada perfumes I own, the longevity and sillage are unimpressive. Candy Gloss is one of those scents thay when first sniff, you would think "Wow that is thick, this gonna stay on my skin for days and has monster sillage" only to find out shortly after that once spray, it becomes skin scent in less than 30 minutes. I have to say there are $15 body sprays out there with better performance than this. And because of such weak performance, I can't really tell any development of the notes. I can't even smell it on myself after 20 minutes or so.

All in all, Candy Gloss is a perfume I don't mind using, but at the same time don't actively reach out to use it, either. It is your standard "smell good" perfume.
Nice scent, but nothing impressive. I purchased it because of the bottle, as mentioned above, so I'm not mad.

6/10 from me for the juice. 10/10 for the bottle

CatieK

Impulse purchase and what a surprise! I had tested it previously on a tester strip and found it to be very strong artificial cherry. The reviews had me intrigued and I have a terrible sweet tooth so when I found a 30ml bottle in a country pharmacy today, I couldn't help myself.
On my skin it is strong cherry initially but then transforms into a soft floral and finally a caramel peach. Longevity is around 3-4 hours which is very good on me. The sillage is amazing. Often I can't smell my fragrances without sticking my arm right under my nose but I keep getting little wafts of scent. Somehow this really works for me. Gorgeous for a warm day.

NicoleET88

I wore the original for the better part of a year, but eventually it's particular caramel signature began to make me nauseous. THIS Candy is very different. It has none of the original DNA, from what I can detect, only sharing the quirky bottle design and gentle flirtation with gourmand.
In it's opening, Candy Gloss is bursting with juicy, artificial fruity goodness, reminiscent of some popular herbal shampoo varieties. There's also an underlying chemical sterility at first that calls to mind, of all things, the smell of a new pair of shoes. It's not unpleasant, it simply interferes with any notions of yumminess that might arise here, keeping this out of juvenile body splash territory. Because this is very, very fruity. For the reviewers who have mentioned smelling guava and grapefruit, I can definitely see where it gives that impression. In comparison to many of my other fragrances where fruits play a starring role, this one is noticeably SOUR. The cherry in use here has enough tart freshness that it never goes to sticky sweet maraschino levels and, even in the opening, the middle peach note presents itself clearly, but with more similarity to gummy-candies coated in citric crystals than to the experience of biting into a ripe, natural peach. And that sharp, sour twang never fully leaves, even after the perfume has muted down to it's base notes. It just becomes slowly blanketed by rounder, softer scents.
The middle notes bring out the smooth and feminine blend of classic orange blossom and rose, while the peach mellows down to a subtle lactonic freshness, and this is where the perfume begins to settle into a more mature vibe. When the base notes come together they form a plush cushion of vanilla musk, with barely perceptible cherry almond and heliotrope, and balmy "Prada Benzoin". After the middle, this is ultimately just a highly manicured skin-scent with a gentle fruity sparkle. I don't get cherry Chapstick, I don't get lip gloss, I don't get cough drops. I DO, however, get lipstick. But lipstick of a modern sort, in a glossy, lacquered bullet case. The bottling of this flanker is very well fitting in that respect.

This was a half-blind buy, I'd only had the pleasure of smelling the aftermath of a broken vial in a swap package YEARS ago, and really couldn't have known whether this would work well with my chemistry...but I'm happy to say it does. It won't likely be an every day fragrance for me (I find it just a smidgen too perfume-y in character) but I can definitely see myself enjoying this on a sunny, energetic day when I want to add a little bit of fun and, well...a little bit of "gloss."

(EDITED to add: There is something creamy and fruity about the very late dry down which *does*, in fact, remind me very much of a Barbie lip gloss I used to own as a child.)

salthewitch

I was uninitiated into the world of Prada until very recently, when I read the reviews for this after jumping from another page. How could I, I lover of all that is pink, shiny, glossy or sparkly, pass this up? Plus, it's got a cute bottle. I didn't seriously expect much from this and upon my first spray, I thought 'uh oh' because I could immediately smell my scented kitchen cleaner, pink grapefruit by Method, to be exact! After around fifteen minutes, the sour cherry disappeared, and it switched completely into the most delicate and beautiful, creamy rose, vanilla, almond and musky delight. I was blown away by it, so dramatic was the change on dry down! No synthetic notes for my nose, no strawberry either. Just a mature whisper of a scent, that lingered on my wrists for around six hours. Because of how intimate it is, I'd wear it to bed. It smells more expensive than it is. I collect niche, but a small bottle of this wouldn't go amiss in most wardrobes.

lyka

perfumes_addict

Like all Prada perfumes, this one is also quite weak and has small silage. I use it as a bedtime perfume. It is sweet but not in a fruity or gourmand way. Reminds me of Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge, but definitely way weaker that EL.

BusyBee2019

I have full-size bottle of this that I got last year and is about 99% full. I would like to swap this for a Dior or Burberry or anything more agreeable to me. If interested, please let me know.

Sarahbee

Rather than a tart sour cherry, I feel like this is more like a fruity scent that has soured. Especially unpleasant mixed with the powdery scent I get from it.

🍒 Prada Candy Gloss is a girly, sweet, inoffensive, playful, vibrant and cheerful perfume, for all seasons (it seems more suitable for spring). It is very subtle & fresh! Definitely for a younger crowd. The bottle is beautiful, the juice inside is like a vanilla almond cake garnished with loooots of cherries and cherry syrup. As time passes, it leaves a powdery and slightly nutty-creamy feeling. I can also easily smell the cassis note. This is the ideal one for a cute, joyful, carefree spirit || Star signs: Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Aquarius, Pisces 🍒

acottong

Oof, this is not for me! I love cherry in fragrances but this smells more like a synthetic strawberry candy to me. It's sickeningly sweet and overwhelming. I'm disappointed, as this sounded like such a fun scent!

Emilyfromskin

This smells like sour gummy worms! Unlike other cherry perfumes, this doesn’t smell thick or syrupy. It’s lighter, brighter, sweet, but tart and sour at the same time! It’s super fun, flirty, and cute. The only down side is that it has terrible longevity.

Kath Grace

I like it. Alot. It is so easy to wear and not overly sweet. That said, I believe I become anosmic to it. I literally cannot smell it on myself. I have to be careful with that because my BF said that he definitely CAN smell it. This was a great blind buy and I'm excited to have it in my collection :)

GabrielleeeeeW

I don't like this one. I thought I would with the cherry/almond notes and since I love gourmands, but this one fell flat. It is very synthetic smelling and reminiscent of cough syrup. The opening is actually gross to me, it gets better as it dries down, but not enough to save it. Something about it makes me almost nauseous. It also is very weak as far as performance. It was a blind buy for me and I'm very disappointed, no wonder you can find it so cheap.

aqua76239

I remember smelling it when it first came out and wasn't particularly impressed. At the time, I thought it was too powdery and not for me. However I revisited it recently and now I am really liking it. I feel like that sour cherry note is very subtle so its barely there. Its barely a small blip before the heart opens up. Mostly the bottom notes are the most prominent so you get sweet light and powdery scent, that sort of gently trails behind you rather than projects far and wide. I really like it actually, I wish lasting power was better, I think its a good scent for work or those occasions when you want to smell nice but not overpowering. This is definately not a tween scent, and comes across as more "mature"

miarose

I'm still trying to figure this one out. Upon first spray, I didn't think I would like it because it was just so odd a scent, but I let it sit for a few minutes, and now I'm intrigued by the scent. I'm getting a cherry doll head scent from this...and that's actually a good thing. It reminds me of dolls that I wanted as a kid, but was not allowed to buy. Actually, it also reminds me of those nicer cherry-scented plastic erasers. Not the nasty ones, but the good ones that were highly coveted. I think the only other scent I can think of that does this kind of thing is Montale Mukhallat, and that one is hella strong strawberry doll head / eraser, and harder for me to wear, though it's a weird and good scent. Prada Candy Gloss is so much more wearable, though, and if I want this doll parts vibe, I'd pick this one over the other.

KittyDeBeauvoir

This is hella-fun!
If you're looking for a waxy, kinda-plastic, sour cherry with slight sweetness - Stop on over at "Prada Candy Gloss" for a cuppa.

I'll say straight off-the-bat; this is not as sweet as I was expecting. There is an almond sweetness detectable, but what struck my first was the sour cherry. It's truly SOUR cherry. 🍒This isn't a syrupy cherry, or a maraschino cherry at all. This definitely has a note of tart, sour cherry scent. The good thing about this sour cherry is that it makes you salivate when it hits the back of your throat.
This is also wildy synthetic. This is mega-plastic and waxy. I don't think Prada were playing around when they made this. No-one in that particular board meeting said, "How about we try to make this a bit more natural-smelling?". Dude would have been down-voted anyway.
The peach and orange blossom come through a little bit after a while, but only to support. The rose isn't obvious at all.
The base notes are predominantly almond (again, faintly constant), some benzoin, and heliotrope. The heliotrope being the thing in here that smells a bit 'purple'. I think a lot more musk and vanilla would have made this a bit more warm and sexy, but that's just me.

My husband *loves* cherries, and when I first sprayed this he immediately liked it. Oddly, this settles quickly enough that he actually said this would be a great office/work perfume!

Can we take a moment to appreciate the bottle?
That bold pink speaks to me on a superficial - yet very real - level. 😋

The misses?
Yep, longevity. It's low-key terrible.
Same with sillage. It settles too quickly when it should project with snapping cherry deliciousness!
I know it's an Eau de Toilette, and that makes me sad.

Borderline repurchase-worthy.
Very much undecided at this time.

I am very new to the Candy Line, but I find it really enjoyable and easy for any occasion! My personal ranking of the ones, I know:
1. Candy Night - dark chocolate, turning into sweet vanilla
2. Candy Kiss - lovely musk, turning into sweet vanilla
3. Candy Original - cool, not sweet, but a lovely caramel, also turning into a soft vanilla
(-) Candy Gloss I cannot stand, sadly. Now I know, what a plasticky smell is: plastic cherrys. The bottle is gorgeous.
There is this weak staying power to all of them, but with Candy Night and Candy Kiss I am fine (after spraying about 6 times...). As I am at home during lockdown mostly all of the time, I really don´t mind reapplying.
The line is really worth it trying out. There will be one flanker for everyone.

lavenderclouds

The original Prada Candy was far too caramel-y and sweet for me, so I was nervous going into Candy Gloss but my fears quickly dissipated when I realized what a little gem this one is!

It opens with a lovely blend of slightly tart cherries, vanilla, benzoin, and almond which all give it an almost waxy, cherry Chapstick or lipstick sort of vibe. But beneath it that, there's a juicy peach note mingling with orange blossom, cassis, and heliotrope, keeping the vibe fresh and from becoming a bit TOO sweet. And at the very most bottom layer, a creamy, semi-powdery base which almost calls to mind powder puffs or makeup bags.

The cherry sweetness, waxy lipstick, juicy peach, and powder puff vibe definitely make this whole affair candied and glossy—very reminiscent of the cherry lip glosses of our girlhoods, of Mean Girls, of Legally Blonde, of the color pink! Nothing is ever too medicinal, sticky, or sickly sweet here. It's a flirty, fun, lighthearted scent for the spirited girly-girl who loves makeup and isn't in the mood for a heavy, warm gourmand (cough me, that girl is me cough).

beckibre

One of my favourites. The cherry scent is an absolute love for me and you get that strong powerful burst as soon as you spray it. However, as the scent sits on your skin after around 20 minutes the peach and cassis notes start to become evident. i love how this perfume has such a lovely character and layering to it as i feel as though it has so much depth to it. One downfall would be the lasting power which is average. This is a very summery very sweet perfume and is my personal favourite of the entire prada candy collection. i also own the original prada candy and in my eyes this is the fun sister of the original though i love both dearly. :)

Kaitylady621

It’s a super sweet fruity scent that is one of a kind! Not very long lasting, but that is expected with an eau de toilette.

charmeliastorm

You know that pink bulk hand soap you used at school as a kid? The opening is just like that. Pink hand soap with wet paper towels. A Very nostalgic scent for me! I’m not mad about that though it’s definitely not what I was expecting.

sarahherbs

This is just so playful and sweet. I agree with other reviewers descriptions of a sweet tart cherry opening and the dry down has an almond and powdery feel. I don’t think it smells very similar to the original because it lacks that caramel benzoin fuzzy-sweater warmth. This is a much lighter perfume but still feels warm. If you like fruity and quirky perfumes, it’s worth a shot!

justlikemagic

Oh, man, this is a stunner. This opens with a punch of sour cherry - delectable and fragrant and super noticeable, but the sour of the cherry is somehow balanced by a sweetness. There is a hint of nuttiness of me immediately from the almond. This settles down into a fruity-floral combo (and as someone who doesn't tend to like florals as they can be overpowering on me, this is quite lovely). This is so, so beautiful. Longevity on me is disappointing - it clocks in at a little under 3 hours. I have the rollerball of this, and I wouldn't mind reapplying. But I wouldn't buy a full bottle, since I will definitely have to reapply during the day.

Lucille29

I really like this perfume. It’s a sweet syrupy cherry but there is a sourness also like a real cherry, or more like cherry drops those sweets. I also get a thickness from the almond notes. Just a shame this only last 2-3 hrs max on me!

perfumeaddict97

This is a really nice perfume. I'm a huge fan of cherry in fragrances, so I really like this one. As someone has already mentioned, it smells exactly like the cherries on black forest cake! If you pay attention, it does slightly have a nice cake/ freshly baked bread smell to it. I can also detect a faint red apple note, although it's not officially mentioned.
The almond note in this is noticeable too, it gives it a nice, smooth and slightly powdery scent.
Performance is average - not bad at all either (I find this one's performance better than candy night, for example); this one definitely will need reapplying throughout the day. I just wish the Prada candy range had better sillage and longevity.

KayleeAp

This is a big love for me. This is a sweet light scent that smells of cherry, almonds and vanilla to me. I was expecting something heavier based on the notes but Prada managed to make a lovely light perfume. Right up my alley! Longevity is not the greatest, about 4 hours, and I need several spritzes in order to have enough scent (maybe I’m partially anosmic?). I’m willing to overlook that though because the scent is utterly delicious. I love wearing this in the daytime - but I think it’s suitable all around. The pink bottle suits the fragrance.

JSpines

I am not a fan of Prada Candy, too powdery on my skin. Candy L'eau is better, I don't love it but I do like it. It's lighter and fresher than its predecessor, it's a shame that it was discontinued. Prada Candy Gloss is a solid love for me. It's a complete deviation from the other two that I mentioned. It was a blind-buy so I was understandably nervous but after the first spray hit my body and I got a good whiff of it, I breathed a sigh of relief.

I recognized the cherry right away, that's the note that stands out to me in the beginning. It settles on the skin quickly and I can smell the almond and vanilla mingling with the cherry and I have to say, I really do get a "cherry lip gloss" feel from this fragrance and I truly enjoy it. If I didn't know what this was and someone told me that it was a unisex niche fragrance, I would believe them. I can't pick out the rest of the notes because they're so well blended but the overall effect is so pleasing. Not the same by any means but certainly in the same vein as Maison Margiela's Lipstick On (which I also have) but true to its name, it's more glossy and less lipsticky.

I find this fragrance different, unique and interesting. No one will be able to guess what you're wearing with this one.

Staying power on my skin is good. Three sprays in the morning easily lasts me all day. The Fall-like weather we've been getting in Ontario has been perfect for this scent to really shine.

I don't think that it's a safe-blind buy for most people so be sure to try before you buy.

natfran98

All I can say is yummy yummy yummy!!! Starts out with a bit of a sweet-sour clash of sour cherry, cassis and peach and then gradually warms up to this AMAZING cherry bakewell smell of the cherries, vanilla, the almonds and the benzoin. This combination actually lasts for quite a long time! And then eventually settles into a fruity-floral skin scent. It’s one of my absolute favourite fragrances I’ve pursued after seeing it on Fragrantica.

MissyJ

This is bad and a horrible blind buy. Smells like plastic and is not nice at all. Don't get cherry or any gourmand just sweetish plastic. I'm getting rid of this one.

Supermonipower

This is one of my first fragrances I had bought: it smells very strong and it is juicy. It smells like cherry and marzipan! I really loved this fragrance and used to wear it non stop when I got it. Now that I have a huge collection I don't really reach for it anymore. My taste has changed a lot and im more into rose and yellow florals rather than fruity fragrances. But you should definitely try this one!!

mintycharm

This is one of my favorite perfumes with synthetic/cosmetic notes. It is sweet and juicy but with a powderpuff touch that gives it a makeup bag vibe. It warms up really well with body heat and is long-lasting, and draws compliments. I often catch small whiffs of it throughout the day. Layers beautifully with Lolita Lempicka, which adds on more cherry and some licorice to complement the powdery notes. Simply elegant!

Whify

A lovely, fruity, juicy, summer scent. Much sweeter and (slightly) longer lasting than the original Prada Candy. I don't get any marzipan or almond. Just cherries. Sweet cherries. Which is fine. I like it but will probably not re-buy when my 50mls is used up.

Palmer Eldritch

Alright I'm not going to beat around the bush. This straight up smells like a mouthwatering sour-cherry marzipan with vanilla.

And I'm not mad at it.
Actually heck I friggin' love it.

First spray on my skin is a juicy sour cherry with cassis (giving it strong blackcurrant vibes). Within the hour, a delectable marzipan develops, not almond, but MARZIPAN!! Probably thanks to the heliotrope/musk addition too! The sour-cherries don't dissappear, thank you perfumers. Paired with the vanilla, it's just sour cherries and bitter-almond cookies 🖤

5 hours has passed and only a soft almond with vanilla is left on my skin. Actually there's still a hint of cherry!!! No powdery undertones. Nothing synthetic or overly sweet/juvenile. I'd say performance is average for an EDT, nothing special.

Love this more than the original Prada Candy. This isn't too sweet, nor too powdery, with great depth and ultra-feminine... So pretty & tbh quite seductive too!

Malleable

I can't stand the original Prada Candy or any of the other flankers I've tried, but this one is nice! It has a great cherry scent, a bit fizzy and a bit sweet.

Jacqueline7nt

A beautiful Cherry, (creamy) almond, vanilla scent. It reminds me of a sweet....maybe those sugar coated almonds.

Sweet but not cloying IMO. It is very different to the original which i loved and used to layer but gloss does not go off/ become synthetic quickly like i believe the original does. I have had my bottle for maybe 3 years and i am wondering whether i am appreciating it more over time or i have just went back to reaching for it more. But it smells lovely.

If you like Tom Ford's lost cherry, i think you might like this. It is a more creamy/ milky version i would say.

The lasting power is good, with maybe 5 hours but if sprayed on the clothes, longer. I would say it projects pretty well at first and becomes close to the skin within a couple hours.
The bottle is very cute/pretty.
If you like sweet almond scents, i would definitely recommend.

BerrySmellGood

This is a really nice scent. Undeniably cherry. I bought this because I love the original candy scent and I heard this was a lot sweeter, so I figured I’d give it a try. It’s sweet but not a sugar sweet more like fresh cherries sweet. In my opinion other than the beautiful bottle the and the way the musk compliments the dry down, the two aren’t very similar.

I love this scent and after wearing it a few time I don’t understand how people compare it to cough syrup. This is a very light and fruity scent. The sour cherry is what makes it sweet but not candy sweet more of a sweet fresh fruit if that makes sense. Sorbet vibes. During the initial spray I smell a sparkling sour cherry. After a few minutes you start to smell the almond and vanilla notes. Once the dry down is complete that when the musky note is revealed. The musk compliments the sweetness of the fragrance giving it a nice, clean, fruity freshness.

Prada Candy Gloss is a very happy, uplifting, playful scent. Not something to take to seriously. Good for spring days. It’s definitely for a younger crowd. I love this but I wouldn’t wear it anywhere important.

ghostgirl1

This lovely fragrance reminds me of old-fashioned lipstick, cherry tobacco, and Sucrets cherry throat lozenges. That sounds hideous, but it is not. I adore this scent for special evenings out. It lasts for hours on me, which is unusual. I always get compliments from other women when I wear it.

agarobka

Is Prada Candy Gloss sweet? Yes. But by no means it's a cloying sweetness. On the contrary, it's delicious, mouth-watering juice. Cherries here do to the fragrance what blackberries do to Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay. Make you want to drink and bath in it both. Candy Gloss invigorates you like fresh, homemade lemonade would during a very hot day.
I LOVE IT. And can't get enough of it. Cheerful and friendly smell of pure happiness.

Melissa_T

I couldn’t handle the original Candy and was really excited that I liked this flanker as much as I do as I really wanted to add a Prada scent to my collection....

Delicious sweet cherry with a creamy almond & vanilla.

Slightly powdery to my nose with a nice musky base.

Not overly sweet or suffocating & perfect for a cool spring day.

Lasting power is quite impressive as I can spray this on at night before bed and still smell it in the morning.

Glad to have this in my collection as I’ve been craving cherry fragrances lately.

fillifelle

This is why you should take fragrance reviews on here with a pinch of salt. I don’t get what all the objections to this darling is about. Perhaps “cherry cough drops” or “cough syrup” type scents sounds like a nightmare to some but I, for one, love perfumes with a realistic-artificial cherry candy note. Oxymoronic, I know.

There used to be a red-coloured heart-shape hard candy I loved to eat when I was in primary school. And yes, it’s cherry flavoured. Prada Candy Gloss smells like it. Nevertheless, it is not childish nor insipid. It has enough sophistication for it to be worn by any age group, yet has that playful nostalgic vibe about it that says one is never too old to have fun.

Own a bottle now.

tyekristopher

It’s definitely a cherry scent BUT I’m picking up some grape fruit in the mix I know its not listed but I can smell it . It’s a nice scent very citrusy and fruity , i wore this one and kiss a lot . I wouldn’t buy it tho for the price when you can get midnight fantasy for half that price

lmwimsatt

I get mostly peach from this. Peach notes can be either awful or absolutely stunning. I love candy gloss! It's one of my favorites.

Sesara

I couldnt figure out what this smelled like until I read the comments cause it isnt cherry at all . It GRAPE , GRAPE CANDY lol straight up , smells very good to me tho so if you like grapes , have at it

Kaamos

For some reason to me this smells like cherry tobacco my grandpa used to smoke. I do like it but sillage and longevity are somewhat disappointing.

sugaryrose

Absolutely love it! Smells amazing to me. I can't stop sniffing my hand. My boyfriend also said it smells fantastic and suits me. Projection is moderate and longevity on my skin about 10 hours.I'll definitely buy it.

daphne_ann

This smells very sweet and pleasant, I think It would be nice one for layering to add extra sweetness to other fragrances I thought would be sweeter, I'm looking at you LVEB Intense.

KylieBooFace

I don't get it. I thought I would like the notes listed. Tested this at Ulta and it started off ok. The cherry and blackcurrant give it a blackberry/grape-y deliciousness like the berry gummy LifeSavers. Then, I notice kind of a weird vanilla base that comes off synthetic, a tad powdery, and medicinal/bitter. Then I smell something almost like the inside of a raw green pepper without the heat. Not digging this. Try before you buy. Lost Cherry by Tom Ford is a lot better, and that one was supposed to have slightly bitter earthy undertones.

pennyligeia

This smells very unattractive... I'm trying to be nice

eyeneedles

Dort0625: How did you manage to buy this one and several other perfumes in your sleep? It just doesn’t add up. Just say it was a bad blind buy.

zind

So much hate for this! I don't mind, if I can wear my loves without smelling them on everyone else that is a huge bonus! (Edit: this has a much higher rating now. Good, it deserves it!)

A very rare love at first sniff for me. This is my fix when I want a soft, innocent and gourmand scent. I love that slight resemblance to the scented erasers I collected in the early 90's. I am 37 and a mother of 2, but it doesn't feel wrong to wear this. It feels very right. I get lovely whiffs of it for hours, and it gets more resinous with time. Never harsh, no annoying or painfully synthetic notes, even though it's not a natural smelling scent by any means. I simply love this

My favorite thing about this is that it is not sickening or sweet in a cloying way. I think the patchouli must be helping this from going too sweet and juvenile, even though it's not very noticable. I love the slight, barely there rough edge that CG has, I wish it was amped up (candly gloss night with more resin, smoke and patch, anyone?), but it is still gorgeous and perfect as it is ♥️

natasha.wahyudihardjo

If this perfume was a girl, she is all fun and loving but never experiences a hard day's work. This is such a happy, cheerful and flirty perfume (thanks to the cherry). It kind of has the "lolita" vibe for me. I'd wear this whenever my days are bitter. Sometimes I even spray this before going to sleep. Definitely my favorite out of the Prada Candy line.

mevans

Green at first spray and then settles into a pleasant sweetness and lasts for several hours. I reapply once later in the day. Lovely cherry scent after an hour or two.

Dort0625

Pretty funny story how I ended up with this, I fell asleep one night with my phone in hand and on a certain online retailer there is the buy now option rather than add to cart and have to manually add in your credit card details so somehow I managed to buy this, and a few other fragrances that normally I would never buy. It’s not that I don’t like Prada candy, it’s just not my preference. I’m into fresh, and aquatic scents so this is way off for the hat I enjoy. But I thought it’s only the roller ball, I’ll keep it and give it a try. Well I wish I had of returned it, it has this really strange plastic smell to it, like a weird marshmallow scent o can smell too, and then this really weird lip gloss scent, which is maybe what they were going for but together it’s foul. I’m not of anyone that would enjoy this. I try to give every fragrance a chance because they sit differently on everyone and they can change several times during your time wearing it, but this never made it any where even remotely close to being nice. Straight up synthetic melting sweet lip gloss, it’s just awful. I’m wondering if spraying it would make a difference because I know any time I’ve had a rollerball I try to hunt down the spray because it can come off different sometimes, so maybe one day I’ll find it and fall in love lol yeah no that’s not going to happen, but I do think Prada has some beautiful other fragrances worth sniffing out!

dglightblue

in the heat i feel very juvenile when i put it on, as if the noted cherry comes off as bubble gum grape. artificial smelling.

cooler weather, in the spray, i can detect a leaf smell, a fresh (but not freshie) artificial grape - its not like the cherry in Gerlain le petit robe - those flankers.
the sillage is more sweet grape gum. up close is slightly more angular and a fresh tinge on the top notes

this is sweet, it does have depth, but that straight up grape chewing gum just doesn do it for me. - summe playing tricks on me - i dont looove this scent but its worth acknowledging the different betweeen seasons.

i have got several of the fragrances from this line and this one is a let down for me for summer wear - its very limiting if i can only grab this in winter.

i do not get any nutty vibes - think elie saab girl of now, wonderlust by michael kors - not nuts around here of that kind.
the accords listed and the notes people vote dont seem to mesh for me.
this is not similar to the other flankers that ive tried in that line.

Nancy83

It was love at first sniff! A very sweet cherry nutty perfume. So delicious!

The longevity is average and the projection average poor, but enough to sniff it and the people close to me. I don't regret my purchase even if the performance doesn't wow me, this is one of my easy grab and most wearing fragrance in my collection. If you are into sugary sweet perfumes, I highly recommend to try it.

If I want to smell cotton candy strong forever I go for Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Intense, also a favorite (but no cherries in it). Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire and Lolita Lempicka are more powerful cherry perfumes, but don't have the same vibe of Candy Gloss at all, maybe Lolita Lempicka Sweet a little bit, but not really. Prada Candy Gloss has its own place in my collection. The perfume doesn't have that dark muskiness that some of my other cherry perfumes have, Candy Gloss smells happy and flirty.

This is my first Prada Candy perfume, I'm tempted to try other ones (Original, Night, Florale), but I really love the notes of Candy Gloss, I'm glad of my choice.

By the way, the bottle looks great, but it's confusing, it seems in some versions you can pull off the cap to have your regular spray nozzle and some you can only push it. I almost break mine by pull off the cap, hopefully I was able to put it back on. This is not a deal breaker, but I also don't like when a perfume bottle has an expose nozzle with no cap, I always have the feeling it evaporates the fragrance faster. And I don't want that! I will repurchase this perfume, I hope it will never be discontinued.

MoreScentsThanDollars

She starts of a beautiful green scent, then quick to turn into a gorgeous sweet cheery cherry chapstick.
On my skin it's long lasting.
Highly recommend to test if you love sweet scent. 💖
Update, I am loving this bottle, it's very pretty 💖

yayimah

I get lots guava. It's yummy and cheerful. It doesn't last more than 4 h.

meow78

I love lipstick scents, and this has a cherry chapstick vibe that’s a little flirty but still daytime appropriate. It has very soft sillage and isn’t very long lasting (maybe 4 hours tops). It’s less sweet than Poison Girl edp, less powdery than Lipstick On, and longer lasting than both.

melialyn

Got a small decant of this, it's nice clean inoffensive cherry Chapstick, it's light and sweet, doesn't last as long as I'd like tho, I prefer the cherry in Givenchy irresistible delicieuse and has better longevity imo.

ghostgirl1

I just bought this delectable perfume and did a happy dance! I ordered it due to the notes listed here, cherry being my favorite scent and also my favorite fruit to eat. Cherries, cherries, cherries. Candy Gloss is now my second cherry love, Cherry in the Air (Escada) being first and Dazzle being third (Paris Hilton). The Guerlain perfumes are amazing too, but heavy and only for significant evening events for me. My mission next: Tom Ford's cherry concoction (at an exorbitant price, so it better be fantastic).

Redlipstick

Interesting. Unlike other reviews I get zero cherries on my skin.

On me this is basically Prada Candy plus peach / mango. Quite nice, if you're after a fruity vanilla caramel.

Moderate sillage and longevity.

ismellsogood

Tropical sweet heavenly fun fragrance a fantastic mood lifter! Super fun and long lasting reminds me of the sweeties called Chewits!
I really like this it makes me happy..
The bottle is a lovely thickened cherry pink it reminds me of this drink I used to guzzle as a teenager called Dunn’s River Nurishment, strawberry flavour!
Fruits, cherry sweet vanilla goodness!

dglightblue

Grape Hubba bubba bubble gum

Mbrock

This is nice. I like it but its not what I was looking for. I wanted a darker cherry Like Lolita Lempika & La petite robe noire. They smell great but have no sillage on me.
When first sprayed Candy Gloss smelled like cherry cough drops to me. I didnt care for that but the dry down is very nice A creamy, musky, cherry.
I think you could wear this year round but the kind of cherry scent reminds me more of spring or summer. Its a cheerful cherry. I like it. It just wasnt the kind of cherry I was looking for.

rola.asad

I get the same vibe of la petite robe noir by Guerlain!!!
Intense cherry, with vanilla at the dry-down, and almond dancing at the whole life-span, which I would say probably 5 to 6 hours almost!
I couldn't bare the sourness of the cherry in La petite Robe noir at all, the sourness was taken to a different level beside the red berries; Surprisingly here I can feel the sour note so obviously, but it doesn't irritate me at all, however, the sweetness somehow is somehow artificial, I'm not sure what button should I press the like or the dislike, but its absolutely not a love, I will keep it and see!

Lazzarwa

Prada Candy Gloss opens with a blast of cherry candies, but within minutes it settles close to the skin, revealing sweet notes of almond and vanilla. I only have a sample, but I have to say I like it better than I thought I would, considering that I am not a fan of the pinky-sweet stuff that is currently popular on the market. The dry down is fruity and soft, not too sweet nor childish. That being said, even with multiple sprays, my nose has to literally touch my wrist to smell the fragrance.

I like it enough to finish my sample, but not to invest in a full bottle.

EnergeticCrab

Soft powdery almond meets sour cherry. Minty green note at first that disappears quickly. Candy but not overly sweet. Still not my thing, pass.

meg0825

I really love the Prada Candy line. Candy Gloss is the third fragrance from the line that I have tried and the third one I have loved.

This starts out very cherry and then turns to a minty green. Maybe this is the cassis note? The cherry becomes noticeable again when the almond and vanilla notes emerge. The fragrance finishes off with musk and the warm and spicy benzoin that is common to the Prada Candy line. Despite its name, this is not super sweet and sugary like most gourmands.

Just fantastic!

korean_obsession

This last longer than the original on my skin. At first I was ‘meh’ about it like it’s not unique or anything. But after a while I keep sniffing my wrist so yeah that has to say something. Its weird but to me the scent is very erotic and sensual total recommend for those pillow talk moments

CultBeauty

This is an odd request—does anyone have an empty bottle of this that they won’t need?? I lost the sprayer somehow and really need one!! Lol

Georgia.24

Purchased a sample size of this fragrance, I haven't tried the original yet so I can't compare the two. This one initially smells quite nice and pleasant, definitely very youthful but not childish. It's a deep cherry scent that if oversprayed is very noticeable and overpowering. I could see how this perfume would be headache-inducing as the sour cherry note is quite synthetic and strong. It's still a nice fragrance in moderation and had decent sillage - longevity was 4 hours max. Wouldnt wear everyday nor would I re-purchase but happy to have tried it.

Christycaxxx

I did detect that synthetic sweet cherry smell that reminded me of lipstick but I actually love this perfume! Not quite gourmandish on my skin but there is something about the way the cherry, almond, vanilla and musk notes are composed together that smell more sophisticated and the floral notes faintly present. Projection not that great and the longevity sucks for me as it only stayed on my skin no more than an hour. I don’t necessarily think this is for a younger female but both my daughter and I use it and it smells sweeter on her than on me.
I read that this was compared to Poison Girl and I feel PG is stronger of the two.

violetstorm

a fun playful flirty girly scent.........it totally fits its name "candy" "gloss" smells like a tangy sweet candy thats sparkly shiny & fun love this scent :)

TxTizzy

Got this for my Sep. scentbox.

Mehhhh. I wish I had chosen something else now. Not because I hate it, I don't. Might say I like it well enough, but I don't see reaching for it often. I can't decide what time of year, or occasion I might wear this for.

Points for the bottle. DO like.

I chose this because I love perfumes that mimic the scent of cosmetics, and I don't have anything cherry in my collection. True to name, this is like smelling cherry lip gloss. In that sense, it's pretty straightforward. Just a tad too synthetic, and overwhelming to my nose.

Projection was good for the first couple hours, then it really settled down close. It didn't vanish however, and I could pick up traces at the end of the day.

I will use up this travel size, in time. Won't likely be a FB purchase.

lolalee

This is slowly turning into a favorite, such a playful and delicious yet intriguing scent.
Love the mix of sweet and sour candy gourmand and powdery makeup, I can't stop sniffing my wrist❤

Swedelish

My experience with Candy Gloss is nearly identical to the reviewer's below. The notes sound terrific and they should have it in the bag with this one. But I wonder if Prada could be losing some of their magic touch. They've never been known for strong fragrances, but they used to be multilayered, full bodied and an experience to be had. My favorites were from the original Infusions line. They weren't the longest lasting, but didn't leave anything to be desired. I wish I could say the same for this or any of their newer offerings..

I had a few large samples of this. Upon first spray I knew I liked the scent a lot. But why does such a lovely, satisfying fragrance have to be so fleeting? My samples were drained in no time which means a bottle would be too.

After 20 mins this lovely scent was beginning to leave me. This is not a bad perfume, no way! It's just the kind of cherry almond combo I like. Playful would be how I'd describe it. I love the scent but maybe not enough to overlook its sadly short stay. It has no real longevity which has me feeling torn.

rdolch70

I absolutely LOVED this scent the second I smelled the sample I had received from Sephora but unfortunately it only lasted about 20 mins on me! Tried several times with the sample..Same thing happened with my Black Opium sample so I guess it is just my skin..I now look for perfume scents and read reviews that say strong sillage and lasting power is 6+ hours or over..Otherwise it isnt worth my money if it will only last a few minutes on me.. I was broken hearted that neither one of those scents lasted on me!!

silent_hill_dylan

Personally I find this to be the strongest and longest lasting of the Candy line, having owned them all.
Right from the initial spray, all the way through its development, I get that incredible cherry and almond combo - and boy does it pack a punch!
A lot of you are saying the cherry note smells synthetic and I can kinda agree, though to my nose it sits somewhere in the middle of synthetic and realistic. I'm not going to pretend to be able to pick out every note, however, I find Gloss to be incredibly well blended and pieced together.
I don't think this fragrance is for the totally serious person, more for the young at heart.
My second favourite after the titular Candy :)

olga_adriana

unfortunately, this is pretty synthetic to me. the cherry-almond-vanilla accord is dominant but it smells way too plastic. not for me.

halogencat

I unexpectedly love this - it's very youthful, but not immature. Definitely agree that it's a scent for a young woman letting go and enjoying herself. The cherry note is realistic and refreshing rather than cloying and sugary (although it does definitely have a waxiness that contributes to a chapstick-y note with the rose over time). The vanilla and almond at the base remind me of Kenzo Amour, which was one of the first 'proper' scents I ever bought as a teen and is wonderfully nostalgic for me, and I think they both have the same overall quality as a great choice for a teen finding her identity in scent or a carefree adult woman alike. I like both this and Poison Girl but I'm not sure I think they're particularly similar - PG is very assertively a citrus and I get a lot more distinct florals from it, whereas this is all about the cherry-vanilla-almond and a vague rose that blends into the lipstick note with the cherries.
Plus I think Poison Girl is much more 'gourmand' in the sense that it genuinely smells edible - I think this, despite its fruitiness, smells much more cosmetic than edible.

pancakefarm

Not for everyone, but absolutely for me. The sour cherry note is strong, to say the least.

cloudofdisaster

A vaguely sweaty sour kick at the beginning that wasn't unpleasant. Dried down in seconds into powdery cherry chapstick. I like it way more than I thought I would--easy wearing.

lmwimsatt

Cherry and peach dominate for sure. I went through my bottle very quickly as it is very light and easy to wear. I got my bottle for Xmas from my husband and now in July I'm already finishing up my bottle. I also got poison girl and lovestruck, the 2 I wanted more than anything. Well now poison girl is only almost half gone and lovestruck has a dent in it! Maybe I was going easier on my 2 favorites but I sure was able to enjoy my candy gloss more regularly. It's an easy going year round anytime perfume. Lovestruck is more for daytime in warmer seasons and poison girl is more for nighttime in cooler seasons. Maybe that's why the candy gloss went so quickly. Wish I'd gone easier on it! Lol. Anyways it definitely worth buying.

Contessa01

Prada Candy Gloss was a recent purchase as I saw it for sale and liked it when I tested it. The bottle is so cute, it is a beautiful color and that alone makes it very tempting! I like cherries in fragrances so that sold it for me. But there is a bit of a gripe I have and that is the potency of the almond note. I don't know why lately so many scents that have all the notes I love have almond thrown in the mix which I think is unnecessary with Candy Gloss. Its the same issue I have with Valentino's Donna - a great fragrance with an annoying amount of almond that just overwhelms the other notes. Same thing with Gloss. If I could remove the almond it would be a real winner. But I am glad to have it in my collection.

DarlingNikki

I so wanted to love this, but it actually nauseates me due to the intense cherry top note mixing with the almond. I thought it would smell similar to the original Jergen's body lotion that I like, but interestingly enough, there is a 'glossy' slipperiness to this that makes me gag. I guess I just don't like cherry in such an intensive presentation because I have the same gag reflex with Escada Cherries in the Air, though that one is more tolerable to me. Sure would like to smell this on someone who likes/loves it, but doubtful that I ever will since Prada fragrances are not worn much where I live.

veronikah

smells like candies (cherry Nimm2 soft) :)

monbonbon

I discovered this scent and bought it today! I love it! I’ve been looking for a new gourmand to wear, something feminine and sweet and new. I noticed many scents out there tend to remind me of perfumes I’ve either owned before or smelled on other people.... but this one was unique for me, other than of course resembling the original, only on the ending dry down. It’s funny because I hate the original, although I always wanted to like it, cute bottle, amazing notes, but it just smelled bad on me... must be why it took me so long to discover this awesomeness.

Bright, sweet, tart, very “pink” creamy smelling opening... slowly dries down to a sweeter more caramel and cream fruity middle and hours later I get the warm caramel ending from the original which I’m such will stick to my skin for hours like the original. I’ve been wearing this scent on a hot day and it suits the weather! Without ever being cloying. I’ve been searching for a gout and with lots of presence and sweetness without being too heavy or spicy or redundant and I’ve found it in this.

Ps. It doesn’t smell like chap stick to me... much nicer than that.

Flyingfoxy

Smells like an expensive cherry chap stick with amaretto. Like a conservative youthful lady wearing a white t shirt while sipping amaretto in an airy bar. This scent is young! Playful, fruity. Very very girly. Can't say I like it very much for me though, a tad too girly.
And this does not last!!!

Vixmix

I tested a ton of fragrances the other day and when i initially sprayed this one i thought it was nice but nothing special. A few hours later i was sitting next to someone and thought it was her who smelt so divine but she wasn’t wearing any fragrance and i figured out it was this! I couldn’t help it. I had to have it. So I’ve been wearing it for a few days now and for me this has been a great scent when I’m sitting around tons of people in meetings and auditoriums as it’s inoffensive and not super strong however i always spray my clothes and my hair because i do like to smell it myself. It does have a sweet cherry chapstick smell to me but minus the wax - which to me makes sense with the gloss name - definitely can pick up the gloss note but in a nice way. It also has a sweet floral-ish note to me. It reminds me of a less powdery/fruitier MMM lipstick on (which I’m determined to love haha). Anyway i think this is worth a sniff if you like the concept behind it. It’s a great flanker and the bottle is beautiful!

EDIT: i can definitely detect some almond in the dry down which I LOVE

dovey

of all the Prada Candy perfumes this is my favorite one so far...

It has a sweet synthetic but pleasant scent

Kindda reminds me of a scented eraser from my childhood

The same Perfumes that triggered that childhood eraser memory were Sky di Gioia & Mon Paris , not sure what's the connection 🙂

Does cherry really have a scent??!!!
I know what it tastes like...... but never passed by a fruit store & went "ooohhh I smell cherries" lol

Anyways...its nice sweet but synthetic, it doesn't resemble any natural fruit , flower or even a dessert

more on the body mist , shower gel type than a perfume

Pretty Box & Pretty colour 💄 8/10

yloenog

I barely smell any cherry in this. But what I DO smell is almonds. Lots and lots of them. Also honey, which is not in the notes.

celebrity89

A nicer one from this line. It's as if someone made a honeyed-up version of the powdery, dime store Lutece of yesteryear, or the more recent Muse de Rochas.

goingblonde

Very cherry in the beginning with a little touch of powder/lipstick scent popping in .. It's sweet for about an hour. Then settles into being almost identical to the original down to the poor silage and longevity & overpricing . I still enjoy it from time to time even though I don't need it because I have the original and they are so close .

apple_melon

Sweet cherries, vibrant and very cheerful. However, projection is very bad, at first spray, just a blast of guava, the dry down is about the same as original candy, with a hint of cherries.
Very pleasant fruity gourmand, but for the price, it’s not worth it, too expensive for something that smells exactly like my cherry scented lip balm.

crea11

I’m surprised by the notes, this is a guava bomb to me! Fades very quickly so I don’t think I’ll repurchase

denizandbeyond_4

It reminds me just a little bit of Guerlain La Petit Robe Noire. The cherry note is very intense.
Nice scent but not special for me.

About three weeks ago I tested candy gloss for the first time, you can read my first review below and see that I wasn't really impressed.I didn't dislike it but I felt it smells like a cherry lollipop.nothing more or less.yet now here I am with a 2.7 oz bottle of candy gloss in my hand.when I saw it in a great sale(80mil was priced 60$!)as a loyal fan of Prada candy line I decided to order gloss and give it more time.I'm so happy with myself for such a good decision.
it's far from a simple and linear cherry solinote.it goes through different phases and as time passes it becomes more and more pretty.I didn't expect my idea to change so soon but right now,I can say that I'm totally in love with this beauty
When first sprayed,it smells horrible on my skin.acidic, sour and a bit dirty, like rotten sour cherries.but fortunately this stage goes away in a minute or two and is replaced by what I could smell in my first test:tart and sweet cherry lollipop.it's fun, lively and delightful.not too much sweet for me.it makes me feel happy and reminds me of childhood days when I filled my mouth with a handful of hard candies and smashed them in my mouth before my mom arrived and caught me.this delicious, fruity stage is really lovely but it could bore me if it was the only stage, which is not.there are dramatic changes in drydown.tart and sweet cherry fruityness calms down and powdery notes show up.I can smell lots of heliotrope and almond in this stage.there's also musk, vanilla and just a whisper of rose.Prada candy gloss's drydown is devine.so soft, sensual and delicate.it smells so good I can't get enough of it.I can't call this stage fruity or teenage-like or gourmand.it's smooth and super feminine.though cherry and almond is a trendy combo these days, candy gloss doesn't smell like any other perfume I know.I like this new member of candy family and can name it my most favorite cherry perfume
I also love it's bottle.all in all I like candy family's bottle design, also pink is my favorite color.it looks so pretty near it's sisters
Sillage is close to skin but longevity is more than what I expected.it sits softly on skin and clothes as a lovely creamy skinscent for hours.make sure to give it enough time to settle down and don't judge it by it's opening

I purchased this last year right when it launched, never having tried another Prada Candy fragrance. Heck! I’d never even smelled another fragrance from the Candy line. When I first put it on I couldn’t believe how sweet it was. But not sickly sweet. It was a burst of fruit on my skin. Prada Candy Gloss was my first real introduction to fruity scents and I fell in love. It is a burst of sunshine from the get-go. While there is an underlying gourmand theme to the scent it isn’t overpowering, which I am grateful for. Prada Candy Gloss is an Eau de Toilette so it makes sense why the staying power isn’t there. On me, it lasts between 3 to 4 hours from application to no longer being able to smell the dry down. My favorite part is the beginning notes. That burst of cherry is prominent and you know it is cherry from the beginning. I get a hint of vanilla with a sparkle of some citrus. While the middle or heart of the perfume is to last the longest, I don’t really smell it ever. It blends in so well with the top and base notes that the whole fragrance is harmonious without any real breaks. The dry down is very sensual in my opinion. I get vanilla alongside the musky notes, creating a depth and dimension to what could have been just a one-note fruit punch on my body. I am a fan of Prada Candy Gloss. While I believe it is probably meant for a younger woman I like to wear it when I’m doing something fun or just hanging out with friends. Because this doesn’t last long you need to consider wearing this on those occasions you won’t be out long or consider taking a bottle with you for re-application. And just FYI, the bottle is hefty.

So I kind of like this. The dry down truly is all about candy, but the opening is a bit like walking past a nail salon that projects strong nail polish remover.

It's an odd one and not really at all what I expected. Hadn't tried a Candy before and if the rest are this yummy, colour me impressed.

Upon respraying and reading the listed notes, I can really smell a sour cherry candy scent too. This really is rather remarkable. I genuinely dislike most sickeningly sweet scents and while this is one of those, without a doubt, I do find this magical in a way. Maybe I like sweet after all... I just purchased Poison Girl & LPRN Black Perfecto so who knows?

Today I tried this for the first time and I really do like the scent. The drydown is pretty similar to the original candy. I only wish it projected a little more. Longevity is moderate, 6 hours later it's a very soft skin scent.

Yesterday I tested it for the first time,so this is just about first impressions not a real review
I disliked it when first sprayed.there was something medicinal,sour-bitter in it but when I sniffed my hand after ten minutes,it had evolved to something pleasant, sour and sweet and likable.
I can't name the notes that I can detect here.the only thing that I'm sure about is cherry.I can't detect the grapefruit note mentioned in other reviews.for me this is definitely all about cherry.other notes don't appear in their familiar ways.they all blend very well to create something that to my nose smells exactly like red cherry lollipops.but my husband said it smells exactly like cherry flavored labello chapsticks.it's definitely a pleasant scent.youthful and nostalgic the same time, fun and something very satisfying for a girly girls, even grown up ones.but I'm not sure about paying +70$ for something smelling like cherry lollipops(it smells like cherry lollies without that mouth watering, hard candy feel.it's just the smell of lollipop but in a soft, creamy way)
it has nothing to do with poison girl which is my signature..actually I don't know anything similar to candy gloss.
I just sprayed it once so can't really judge about it's longevity and sillage but it didn't look like a strong fragrance.that single spray was barely there after 3 hours and seemed to be very close to skin
Finally I might decide to buy it as I own and love candy, floral and kiss and I'd love to collect other members of family but my first choice to buy would be candy l'eau

This opens quite bold and boozy, almost as though you spilled a fruity cocktail-coca coca combo on you during a messy night out. It soon quietens down to a softer, stickier cherry and soft powder scent which reminds me of vintage makeup. I actually really like it. The lasting power on me is quite good too. I've been wearing it 3 hours and it's still going albeit close to the skin.

I bought a sample of this on ebay, and it arrived today. When I first put it on, I could definitely smell the candy. As it settled, there was a familiar smell that I couldn't quite put my finger on. As I read through the other reviews, I realized the familiar smell: Cherry Chapstick. It lasted about 1 hour, then the smell was almost gone. I'm glad I only got a sample of this one. I won't be purchasing anymore after this vial is finished.

2 Years later, I ended up buying a bottle of this perfume. The cherry scent grew on me, and now I wear this one quite often.

This is A lot different than what I imagined or expected. I have Estee lauder's la Rouge gloss and in my opinion that actually smells like Vaseline Cherry scented lip gloss and it's thick and it's waxy and I love the vinyl note . But here in Prada candy gloss it starts off with a very fruity guava pink grapefruit smell. I don't smell cherries I smell guava at this point I feel that it's going to be a light tart fruity Floral . I almost wrote it off at that point thinking it was too simple in too young but after 5 minutes the same thick Vaseline Lip Gloss scent comes out it starts to feel more oily and some of that tart fruit dies down and it becomes smoother thicker and more rounded. I'm really enjoying the scent it's fun it's flirty and it's different from a lot of other scents that I have the only problem might be the sillage and longevity I can still smell it but I've only been wearing it for the past hour. I'll edit once I know how long it last.

Upon first sniff, I get a strong fruity ruby guava (and I know it's not listed). It reminds me of fruit stands in Puerto Rico and the Mediterranean-delicious, sweet and earthy smelling fruits abound. It smells natural and delicious. It dries down to a gentler, tamer mix of red berries, yet it is still surprisingly natural. After than I get a clean, floral almost soapy vibe. I didn't expect to like this but I love it and it's so unique. Sadly the longevity is like 3 hours. Good sillage though and it would be the perfect summer scent if it lasted a bit longer. Love the bottle!

very interesting indeed! maybe my second favorite after original candy, but they don't even smell slightly similar and this one, despite the others, doesn't even have caramel note. but that's another story. I like what I smell and never been fond of caramel anyway.
So Prada Candy Gloss starts with something that I describe as a sweet fruity tea!I smelt something like strong tea note (might be cassis?) that somehow reminded me of ange ou demon le secret, but much stronger and more provocative.
As the time passes it gets powdery which might be due to heliotrope or even almond.
But talking about almond,I don't get much almond here and even though normally almond/sour cherry perfumes doesn't work well on my skin, this one smells amazing on me. It also doesn't remind me of poison girl at all, not like valentina blush which shares some notes with it either. To me maybe it's a better version of lolita sweet which I liked but couldn't love.
The long lasting power and sillage were ok, much better than other candy series, but I should try it again to reassure about its strenght.

I love this. It is just so unique and so obviously cherry

cake n' cuddles

Candy Gloss smells like the pyramid of notes, and yet not really at all. It smells so much like literal lipgloss, I'm getting flash backs of cherry glosses from back in the day from wet n' wild. Also more powdery vanilla glosses that I wear currently. It reminds me of other lip product inspired scents I've tried, but this one pulls itself apart in that it's more fruity, less powdery, and certainly no violets. It's smooth and after a short dry down linear, undeniably glossy.
I get a very young impression from the scent. If the scent were a person to me, she'd be 19. With long brown hair, thin, wearing shorts, and snapping gum in her mouth. Walking while flipping through her phone at the mall, while her boyfriend holds her purse. Knowing she has him whipped.
While I admit this scent is not really THAT me, I'm kinda imaginative...so I play with it vicariously. Enjoy this young, slightly glamorous, kinda bratty perfume.
As far as performance goes it is kinda lacking in the department. I'm a 1-2 spray kinda girl but I can wear 5 sprays of this and not feel overwhelmed. I think this would be a great semi-casual scent for summer, for dates or going out with friends. I think the heat could be friendly with this one.
