It took me a long time to try this and back in the day I’d have bought it..Not sure about now..It’s more than I always thought It was. I get a realistic vanilla just as much as the chocolate..Cacao is also listed along with chocolate giving that powder like chocolate along with the rich cake batter like chocolate. But the vanilla is staying right in there like a vanilla extract used for actual baking cakes.I don’t seem to get any orange or citrus peeking thru any of this. It’s a bit too gourmand and foody instead of reminding me of an actual fragrance, Especially when I have Amber Aurea & Acqua Di Sale from this house currently on my wishlist. On the right person, “Male”or “female” I can see this pulling lots of complements. This would prob drive me crazy comming off the right woman!

Idismee

I've been wearing this one daily recently! Everywhere I go, I have people leaning in and telling me I smell delicious, like ice cream or cookies. I've definitely noticed that my friends tend to hug me for a half second longer than usual when I'm wearing Soriso :) . One colleague even drunkenly told me that I needed to stop wearing this around him, as it makes me smell "too tempting." I've found that it works best when I spritz the air and lightly coat the top of my hair in it (not too much though, this stuff is pretty waxy). I was also told that I smell sweet and tasty, but "still clean." It's probably because this one leans a little more woody than gourmand. This is best paired with the use of a vanilla-scented body wash and scrub. Yum yum yum.

Diablomoni

A potent shea butter scent. One of my most loved scents of all time 💕

A.Bandini

Short initial blast of bitter citruses but then its all sweet vanilla supported by kind of a whitte chocolate the rest of the way.

JJ2137

Fairly realistic chocolate scent, especially in late drydown, when rest of the notes are gone. Insane 24h+ longevity. For me it has some nauseating effect just like Montale Choco Greedy, hence I give the "ok" grade.

gourmandnotes

I smell something buzzing underneath, like benzoin or some other saffron-like wood. I find it funny others smell chocolate milk because that's what I am hoping to smell from this perfume, but I only get things that remind me of medical refuse. It oddly smells a bit bandaid-ish, or like a heavy lip ointment with some creamy-scented resemblance to shea butter or cocoa butter (a reviewer below me commented it smells like Carmex -- yes!). Maybe mine is an old sample or has been macerated to a certain kind of perfume flatness, but I don't consider this to be a gourmand, floral, or fruity... it's more like a sheer, synthetic amber musk?

Zethre

Smooth, slightly sweet soft sort of scent. Very similar to La Perla Mia Perla

Nessers

I'm so happy I came back for a second attempt at this fragrance. It is much more than a simple chocolate orange gourmand. You can smell fragments of the orange tree. You can smell the environment around the tree. This is so good. I swear I don't know what I was on before. I have to have her.

TessiiDob

This reminds me very strongly of The Exact Friction of Stars, by Pilar & Lucy. The notes are very similar (bitter orange in this, blood orange in the other one), but I find this not as sweet. I like it, but given the similarity to The Exact Friction of Stars, and the price, I won't be springing for the full bottle. I'll enjoy my little sample while it lasts though.

PC622

I pick up on the chocolate and vanilla. A little bit of spice. But ultimately, it smells like Carmex without the camphor and menthol, or similar to a pack of Swisher Sweets when someone first opens them

rbalkris

A simple linear perfume around the theme of childhood nostalgia. The main notes are cacao and vanilla surrounded by slight orange peel, synthetic musk and woody notes. The unisex scent has moderate projection and very good longevity. Like it’s name, it will bring a smile to your face and many pleasant memories. Enjoy!

tessture

This wasn't waxy at all to me; I got a soft almost powdery chocolate vanilla, similar to ChocoMusk but with more chocolate. No woods or orange are obvious but it isn’t pure chocolate, so the soft undertones must be composed of wood and orange. That gives it a more perfume feel, so slightly less like you smeared a candy bar on yourself.. Almost like melted chocolate in a perfume form.. Velvety. Love this.

LizzyBeth22

Strongly reminds me of the chocolate-flavored Lip Smacker lip balms from the late 90s.

It's a rather unsweetened vanilla backed by waxy, dark chocolate. I can see where others are into this kind of scent profile. It's just not for me.

Alas, my quest to smell like a Terry's Chocolate Orange continues!

Fenissa

My advice is not to approach Sorriso thinking it is a chocolate fragrance.
It is actually a vanilla fragrance. A really high quality vanilla.
All the other notes (including the dark chocolate) are there to compliment vanilla but stay quietly in the background which they do. Profumum Roma use natural ingredients and this really shows in Sorriso. It is beautiful.
Focus on the vanilla and it will make more sense.
Performance is nothing short of beast mode. There is plenty of bang for your buck here. It's also perfectly unisex.
It's not a sugary sweet vanilla. It's quite dark, rich and enveloping like a fresh vanilla pod you have just opened to add to something delicious. Full bottle worthy for me.

E.L.2002

Smells like cosmetic products, but in a good way. It is not really gourmand if you ask me.

I expected a realistic chocolate fragrance, so I'm slightly disappointed...

Performance seems to be above average; scent leans more feminine.
The style matches ByKilian's Black Phantom, but I would prefer Sorriso.

Scent 7/10

spring_pansy

Musk, musk, MUSK and a little chocolate in cocoa butter form. And talk about lasting: I sprayed ONE spray in the morning on my wrist and could still smell it the next day after a shower. I'm astonished that no one else mentions the musk; for me that's the primary note. This may sound like I don't like it. I do, but I had hoped for more of an airy chocolate/vanilla/bitter orange/woods fragrance. And this is not that.

*12/12/23
Well, I need to edit my review above, although I'll leave that one still. I'm not sure why I thought it was soooo musky before. I agree with kerolos (below) and Fenissa (above) who said it's primarily a vanilla fragrance. I still get cocoa butter as well and I still find it heavier than I wanted, but it has grown on me. TBD.

Q80

Milk chocolate with a touch of orange woods..

kerolos

Soriso smells great but not really a chocolate fragrance.
It is a ton of vanilla with some chocolate and a hint of citrus.
Performance is OK not great about 6 to 7 hours of longevity and an hour of projection.
In conclusion if you are looking for a chocolate fragrance, you would be better off with other fragrances like (Dolce Passione from Pantheon Roma).

Carpe Noctem

On me this is overwhelmingly coconut. It's not at all like I thought it would be; a soft cocoa with orange facets. I love Profumum Roma but this is a huge miss for me.

Kucemi

So far, I have had it for around 10-15 mins on. It is pretty but not I want it right now, take my money! perfume. On the first whiff, I smelled coconut like in coconut suncream mixed with slightly bitter chocolate, not as projecting as other perfumes by Profumum, although still strong - you just have to get your nose closer to the wrist. Now, after about 20 mins, I am starting to smell super-ripe oranges covered in chocolate, almost like the chocolate orange sweets you can get in the UK, the chocolate is starting to slowly disappear, so we will see how this stands after a couple of hours.

Bettybotox

Best worn in the depths of winter when the air is still and quiet, just before it begins to snow. It's not your typical chocolate gourmand, the chocolate is dark and expensive. The vanilla is rich. The oranges are indeed bitter. This scent smells expensive. It pulls a little hazelnutty on my skin in the dry down which is gorgeous. I think the woody notes are possibly responsible for that. Performance is eternal, as with every offering from this house. Very well blended and worth every penny.

Spicy89

A sweet "perfumy" chocolate with vanilla and a touch of bitter orange, lovely.
I like that it dosen't go gourmand.
I have so many of those already ☺

Great longevity and a nice sillage.

irlfireprincess

Opens with VERY bitter orange that comes off medicinal or aromatic to the point where it reminds me of some of the more medicinal patchouli notes I’ve smelled. Then dries down to generic powdery vanilla tinged with woods and just a bit of chocolate. I really wish the chocolate were stronger. Disappointed in this one.

iskander

I don’t like most gourmands: most of them are way too cloying up until the point of getting sickening, and/or come across as childish and cheap. Profumum Roma, however, just does it right with this one. After sampling it in a beautiful flagstore in Rome I was almost hypnotised by the dark boozy chocolate note that enveloped me with just the right amount of bitter orange that I had no choice but to buy it soon after. Heavy as it is, this never gets annoying. A gourmand for the gourmand-sceptic.

Brittanyc8

I decluttered it. I get no chocolate in this one and the longevity is like 20 minutes on my skin. It smells like a cream soda with some carmex.

cherubi rubi

Lightly sweet cocoa and orange candy. Quickly changes to a dusty metallic dry down.
2/10 for opening

nativelocal

This smells like a vanilla/chocolate scented play dough and not nearly as sophisticated as I expected. Cute, but I don't care to pay so much to smell like that.

OneBlueSummer

its pretty good but no dazzle for me, well blended

Happypiggy84

Cadbury Orange Milk Chocolate. Doesn't get cloying like some others in the same gourmand genre.
It's just the right amount of sweet, cream and citrus. Really nice!

Kaylovely

It's ok... pretty vanilla citrus with chocolate in the very background. Light scent, definitely not a chocolate gourmand. Maybe a vanilla pudding citrus with chocolate swirl. I would pick Battito d'Ali, Musc Maori over this one any day!

Update: 1 fb later, lol.
It's like if you took a chocolate bath. You rubbed melted chocolate on yourself when you get out. You also have a platter of citrus fruits in the window. Sun projecting on them as if it's a grill. You can hear the sizling of the citrus juice frying. Oozing sugary juices:)
I would give it a few days. If you have a dabber. It may be hard to get the scent completely.

Sweet_passiflora

Delicious, lush, warm, dark chocolate smell. Very well blended together with that rich vanilla, a little bit waxy. It's made of high quality ingredients, nothing plasticy in here.
Good longevity, however I have some reservations about the projection... or perhaps I have just become anosmic to it. Hopefully not as this is an amazing smell. This is an ultimate Holy Grale for the chocolate lovers.

bambam2000

It’s definitely sweet, maybe a little leather in there as well. It’s got a orange note in it that I’m really not too keen on, as it throws off the fragrance. It reminds me of a pixie stick that’s been scented with dark chocolate.

It does have a bit of a sharp sugar note, with a subtle dark chocolate or milk chocolate in the background. The sharp sugar note I think is coming from the exotic woods and orange. Just not my favorite.

Cherry_Darling

I definitely get coconut, and something a bit furry or animalic. Maybe even a touch leathery. Not sure this is my cup of tea, quite masculine and strong with a soft cocoa vanilla lingering behind the animalic coconut.

carmenandmonkey

This smelled so familiar... but I figured it out. It's the Vaseline with cocoa butter in the brown bottle, it also smells of the plastic bottle, with a smidge of cocoa, I get a bit of coconut too.

Idismee

I’ve never come across such a realistic, delicious dark chocolate scent! I bought a bottle during my trip to Rome a few weeks ago, and it’s just… PURE chocolate. I stood in the Rome store not believing my own nose. There’s some hints of bitter orange in there as well.

A little goes a really long way with this one… I use the small rollerball bottle that came with the full bottle to wear this on my chest, as I prefer getting small whiffs of it throughout the day in a more intimate manner. My partner thinks it makes me smell like a comforting cup of hot chocolate whenever he hugs me, and I concur.

It’s a dark & waxy one, so make sure not to directly spray it on light-colored clothing. It has immense sillage and lasting power, so either do a (ONE)-spray-and-walk-through (whilst naked), or apply strategically by rollerball as I do. A must-have for true gourmands who want an unmistakable dark chocolate scent in their collection.

SailorV

This smells so waxy, it's like a chocolate and orange scented candle. And not even a great candle. Maybe I'm missing something, but I find Sorriso just way to simple and dull, especially for the price. This smells more like very sweet milk chocolate than dark chocolate due to the vanilla, and I agree with everyone who said it has a Bailey's vibe. Besides the bitter orange, which feels kind of toned down and not as lively as citrus notes can be, I also get a hint of something soapy like orange blossom.
The fragrance doesn't smell bad per se, but to be completely honest, if I smelled it somewhere I would think someone just lit a chocolate candle or maybe used some store brand winter edition cocoa body butter.
It's a little more powdery and vanillic in the drydown, which I like better than the waxy milk chocolate that I get for the first hours, but it still doesn't blow me away. I just expected a darker, more refined and mysterious chocolate scent.

Most fragrances I tried from Profvmvm Roma are relatively simple with a short notes list, but some of them are pulling it of way better than Sorriso. On the plus side this basically lasts forever. So if you like milkier chocolate scents, don't mind a waxy texture and care a lot about a perfume's performance, it might be worth a try, but I'd recommend to also try Battito d'Ali - to me it's the better, fresher take on a chocolate orange scent by PR.

f002961

Realistic sweet play dough scent.

taytay

Im so confused. I had such high hopes for this perfume but I barely smell anything even in the first few minutes of putting it on. It smells like a really soft cocoa butter lotion that I've had on for like an hour and is just an after thought of a scent. Maybe I just got a bad sample...

Ivanqa

Oh my.. Words can't describe how much I love this scent! I never knew that chocolate gourmand could be this elegant and sophisticated.
My absolute top favourite gourmand. It's rich chocolate and almondy liqueur and citrus and everything nice. The interesting twist and suprise is that it somehow projects as rather fresh and young despite the opulence.
So yes, it's gorgeous, opulent, round and generous and elegant and playful and it will make the Autumn even more beautiful.
Every year, I cannot wait until the beginning of the Autumn to take it out of my scent wardrobe and knock everyone's socks off :) It's hugely attractive and lovable and everyone will comment and want to know what is the utter loveliness that is surrounding you.
Profumum Roma is quality. Absolute top quality.

OTA Mom

A rich, luxury smooth bitter chocolate tempered slightly by vanilla and enough by woods to be not truly gourmand. Performs well and lasts the day. Sorriso means smile or smirk.

Trendkill97

I get cocoa body butter vibes off this, very creamy in the dry down, refined, elegant, smooth soft vanilla through and through over a bed of bitter sweet citruses, slightly chalky in the opening sprinkled with chocolate dust to top it off (gives that picture). Delectable scent, on the lines of Dulcis In Fundo from the same house. It's a nice balanced scent that has no issues on performance, not overly gourmand, subtle and an inviting fragrance. A must try for sure from this house. 7/10

RisingChaos

Opening is an extremely dense and creamy cocoa butter on my nose. There are sweet facets, more chocolate and less vanilla, swirling about but they're dominated by the lotion-like (perhaps waxy as others have described) cocoa butter. It also has quite an alcoholic edge, and I say "alcohol" because it's less a nice boozy beverage and more that nose-searing chemical sharpness, which takes 30min+ to fully morph into a sort of nondescript woods.

As it dries down further, the woods take over the "butter" and the choco-vanilla aspects strengthen, with the balance slowly creeping toward more vanilla. It's very pleasant and gourmand once it reaches this point. Intimate initial scent bubble, or perhaps overwhelming noseblindness, but projects quite powerfully in the 1-3hr range. Projects for 3-4hr with 12hr+ longevity as a skin scent, though it's hardly distinguishable from my natural body smell after ~8hr.

clo2005

vanilla scent with a hint of old chocolate, it is a nice scent and not overly gourmand, would recommend if you are typically not into gourmand but would like to try it out or are occasionally in a 'gourmand mood'

zimblot

Ok so I'm in the closet for luxurious gourmands and thought this might become my next secret love. Not so unfortunately.

Notes are (1) chocolate (2) vanilla and (3) oldish cognac (orange + woods landing boozy on me). That's it. Very high quality, also very linear. I smell like a box of duty free chocolates melted on my arm.

However, I purchased this along with a few more spray samples from Ministry of Scent and one of them did strike gourmand GOLD. If you like or wanted to like Sorriso, you should explore Mr Bojnokoppf's Purple Hat by Fort + Manle. My goodness, a woody oud-gourmand stunner with addictive juicy stone fruit the chocolate, vanilla and resinous notes are all soaked in.

With Bojnokopff on my chest, I've stepped out of the gourmand closet. Thank you Sorriso for being a huge step in my journey

ForbiddenCookie

This... is the best chocolate fragrance I ever smelled.

Have you ever had those booze-filled dark chocolate candies? That's the star player in this fragrance, not a kiddy Tootsie Roll milk chocolate but a grown-up smooth dark chocolate covered in something akin to whiskey. It's entirely possible that it's the vanilla that's so boozy. Supporting the chocolate and booze is coconut. No one else has mentioned it but that vague "tropical woods" accord is perhaps something like mahogany with coconut to give it a distinct tropical feel without coming off as sun tan lotion. I barely detect the orange at all, so it's acting more as a background player.

Very very often in fragrances you'll find that chocolate accords dry down to become quite powdery, but not this one. The main change in development in this fragrance comes from the booze and coconut accords fading out a bit quicker, leaving mostly a smooth dark chocolate that's not super gourmand, perhaps the mahogany or whatever it is giving it a little backbone.

I was very surprised with how much I enjoyed this. "A".

briannadedrew

Well, I am in love again! A very deep, rich chocolate vanilla. Yes it is chocolate, but it is not super sweet, it is incredibly sophisticated, smooth, and expertly crafted. It is unisex but super wearable and crowd-pleasing! If I smelled this on a man, woman, or non-binary person, I would simply ask for their hand in marriage. I also smell almost a leathery note, which I assume is probably the woods. I also get that orange, but it is used to perfection where it really lets the chocolate shine and just adds the right amount of depth and complexity. I totally agree with the reviewer who said that it also kind of smells like old books in a library, which is just perfect for me as I am both a bibliophile and a sweet tooth! I just want to tour Europe and visit cute bookstores, pretty libraries, and chocolate shops while wearing this.

LMBelvi

This was straight up root beer on me. Fun at first but didn’t weather well

isabellaprado

I don't even know where to start with this perfume because it is just so amazing. I bought a sample of it last year and wore it around for dates, going out for dinner, etc. I received numerous compliments on this! I wore it out for my 21st birthday celebration last year and had 3 people tell me I smell amazing. My one friend said I smell like a luxurious chocolate shop in Europe. It is definitely not a spring or summer scent. I highly recommend wearing it in the fall and winter. In regard to the smell, it is the perfect blend of chocolate, bitter orange, and vanilla. I get all of the notes when it mixes with my skin. All I can say is please try this perfume out if you're looking for something delicious, alluring, and most importantly - UNIQUE. I haven't smelled something quite like it. At least where I live, nobody owns this perfume and I don't think it's popular in North America, so you will DEFINITELY stand out wearing it in the US or Canada.

Palatin

Got a 2ml tester by chance... I love this fragrance, I got 9hours easy on my skin and I did get compliments.
Anyone willing to sell probably 50ml? 100ml is a bit high for me now, I think it has earned its price tag though.

ugurozdabak

Nice one for sweet lovers and book lover. What's the meaning of it? Book? What? Yes, if you wait 1 or 2 hours this smells like an old book smell in library. You open and smell the pages. This smells that. 4 or 5 hours later, you melt chocolate and pour on your neck or clothes. Sweet, gourmand, milky chocolate with light woodsy notes.

Hellenic Perfumology

Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory

In a Bottle, you see this fragrance is the eternal charisma of chocolate, it lasts & lasts & lasts.

Having this in my hand 18 hours later i can still smell faintly the mesmerizing aroma of chocolate dancing with my body.

Musc & Vanilla are also faintly in the background trying to come up front, BUT the chocolate always wins.

Have you ever dreamed like a kid to visit the Willy Wonka Factory? Well here's your portal to that realm, and its gonna last you a day on skin, a week minimum on clothes.

The negative part of the fragrance? Its linear, but is that a problem to begin with? Diabete's in a bottle it is!

Tamlin

On my skin, I get a cocoa-butter-ish combination of vanilla, a bit of chocolate, and a subtle hint of orange. Surprisingly coconut is not listed as a note...

It has a lot of aspects that I like.
It's warm, smooth, soft and pleasant.
It has a natural vanilla and a well balanced sweetness that doesn't feel cloying.
The cocoa butter vibe makes it feel very summery.
As it dries down, it gets less coconutty and more chocolatey.
Projection is strong and longevity is amazing. (As expected from Profumum Roma!)
Overall, a great gourmand fragrance.

Unfortunately, though, there's something about it that for me personally leans a bit too feminine, otherwise I would gladly wear this. (Of course anyone can wear whatever they want regardless of gender!)

perfumesniffer

I didn't like Sorrisso so I'll keep this brief. It smells like sweet gunky pulp. not even really like chocolate or vanilla. like a gunky substance that makes me think of wood pulp that's been chewed and spit out onto my skin.

I love so many from Profumum Roma that it kind of pains me to share that Sorrisso is a massive disaster (as is Vanitas). I absolutely adore Profumum Dulcis in Fundo and have now decided I'm going to get a FB of that one because I enjoy the orange peels mixed with vanilla pastry so much (even though I find it fleeting).

If you're looking for a chocolate musk try Parfumerie Generale's Musc Maori. That one is a beautiful airy chocolate musk. Also try Dulcis in Fundo if the idea of orange peels and the most divine vanilla appeal to you.

gmstrack

Sorriso by Profumum Roma has quickly become one of my favorite gourmand fragrances. It opens with a hint of orange blossom and plenty of cocoa butter. The orange note is not bright nor acidic and it is blended seamlessly with the composition. The drydown reveals a creamy, intoxicating chocolate supported by vanilla and musc. The result is both creamy and powdery, sweet and snuggly. This simple note list (dark chocolate, vanilla, exotic woods, and bitter orange) results in a truly addictive, slightly woody, chocolate musc that smells rich and gourmand, but somehow feels slightly summery with the cocoa butter lotion aspect. IMO this could be worn all year, as long as one doesn’t over spray during the warmer months. The quality of this fragrance is excellent—one spray will last for the entire day. Given that Sorriso is so rich, smoothly blended, decadent, and long lasting, I think it is worth the price point. I realize that Sorriso is a little simple; if you are looking for something complex, original, or groundbreaking, this might not be for you; but, if you are looking for a high quality, easy to wear chocolate perfume, then this might hit the spot.

Vickalicious

On my skin/to my nose, this is largely a vanilla fragrance with some cocoa and woods, and a bit of fruit. This is not a bad fragrance, but to me it was nothing special, and there is something about the wood note in this that I'm not a big fan of. The performance on me was quite lackluster. Although it lasted most of the day, I over-sprayed this, and it was a skin scent. I can see how this is compared to Rihanna's Rebelle, they definitely are not the same, but do give a similar vibe; I prefer the Rihanna.

AEyup

The vanilla was so dominant in the drydown..
Too sweet for my taste! not my thing..

But boy this is strong!!
I got excited when I first got may sample and spayed 4-5 times, a big mistake!
The whole room was soon filled with this overwhelming sweet smell to the point that both my wife and daughter finally few hours later asked me if I can change my clothes. Same clothes had almost the exact smell the next day.
It is like a curse!

MrsPoke

Sorriso is damn good! It’s totally unisex. I typically like sweet, feminine fragrances and after reading reviews, I knew this was outside the norm for me. It’s basically a chocolate scent that’ll get you tons of compliments. I do get a hint of sweetness, but not much. It started off soft and I feel like it gets stronger throughout the day. This is a gourmand done right! Full bottle worthy IMO.

connyblack

Truly a masterpiece. The juice is a bit expensive but hopefully my 100 ml will last for a while. Best worn in colder weather so the fragrance really can appear. It's A gem, and definitely something for the Gourmand lover.

Gabriel.1440

Very realistic chocolate! Smells like a melting chocolate flow in a luxury Dutch/Swiss chocolate factory with a slight hint of orange cocktail. Absolutely stunning! Everyone likes chocolate so everyone will appreciate you.

Really beastmode. This thing compares to Carlisle. Just keeps going and pushing even after 24 hours. The Drydown, in this one's case after 8 hours, is similar to the one of Tobacco Vanille.

Edit: If you consider layering, I would say that this one works. If you want a solid and noticeable chocolate base to a perfume and a few drops of this (very moderately) and you will get that effect!

JanioScents

this is really good take on a chocolate that it reminds me exactly like Montale Chocolate Greedy because of Bitter orange note. to be honest the scent is alike to it but this one is woodier take on chocolate.

mimeex

There are many chocolate inspired perfumes, but this perfume is quite unique. It's not your typical "cheap, grocery store chocolate" smelling scent, but high quality, dark, delicious type of chocolate. It has also some woody and fruity touch to it.

This perfume is for serious people who have quality and lavish taste.
Sorriso is very long lasting on skin, you'll definetely get notice.

Both men and women can wear this. It smell manly on men, feminine on women. Both ways.

But I reccomend you to not blind buy this, try it first. You would love it or hate it.

archiephillips

Not great.

It's definitely a chocolate fragrance, but there's no real creaminess to it, even from the vanilla. It's a little transparent to be honest, if you can believe that. It's not that sweet which is good - the orange introduces some bitterness and chocolate note is not too sugary.
My main issue is that it does not smell overly natural to me. It reminds me of a cheap chocolate syrup we used to have, not the luxurious dark chocolate bar I was hoping for.
It is also very strong, which can be a positive or a negative - depends on the wearer and those smelling it. This one is a pass for me though.

Indifferent.

(dislike/indifferent/like, but not BW/like a lot, potentially BW/love, definitely BW/masterpiece)

wxmath

Wore this today while relaxing in bed reading and having coffee. She noticed it and liked it, which is great because she dislikes many I wear. She could pick out the vanilla note, not so much the cocoa.

ts4r

++ EDIT:

Be careful to not spray more than twice. You will offend people.

In one wear I got 7 compliments all unsolicited from colleagues.
Their words:

Ginger cookies
Did someone bring chocolate cookies?
Smells so nice here
Smells like vanilla here
Man it smells great
Is that sugar cookies I smell?

I consistently get 36hours. I can smell it after showers.
At first it doesn’t project at all. After a few hours it’s filling rooms

Dr4gonW1nd

A year ago, I requested tips from the perfume shop staff on some gourmand perfumes, in search of my future signature scent.
Sorriso by Profumum Roma is what they suggested.

After trying it on a strip I absolutely fell in love. "Wow! A perfume that literally smells like chocolate!? I love it!" all my prior experiences with perfumes had just been the same generic fragrances found in all mainstream perfumes.
I couldn't justify spending 250€ on a 100ml bottle as a student, however, and came home empty-handed.

But I found excuses to visit the store ever so often to try it on my skin. Even after 24 hours, the scent is still very pronounced, I noted.

A few days ago, I, once again, tried it on as I had no scent applied and happened to pass the perfume store by. After spraying it once on one wrist, it hit me how cloying this scent actually is initially.
Almost dizzying or sickening, even. It brings to mind those horrible scented pinetree-shaped carfresheners that you hang in the rearview mirror in the car.

On my way home, I could still smell the scent under my wintercoat without having to lift my wrist up to my nose.
An hour later, after a long train ride home, I open my door to be met by my housemate who immediately questions me; "Have you been eating chocolate?" as she entered the room.
For the entirety of the evening I was affectionately dubbed "the Chocolateman". Thanks, Sorriso.

I did receive compliments regardless!

Towards the end of the evening, when the perfume had dried down considerably, the cloying sensation had disappeared, leaving a fragrance of chocolate and orange, to my inexperienced nose.
This would be when the fragrance is at its best and it occurred, on me, several hours after the initial spray.
The day after, the scent still holds strong.
I'd say you can get away with a spray every 2 days if you don't see it fit to shower in-between.

I did expect a little more from it than what it is. This is a second fragrance I’ve tried from Parfumum Roma, and both have that soap bar accord, clean out of shower sweet. I like this one more than confetto. The dry down is very pretty. I feel like it does turn into skin scent quite fast and I love smelling my wrists once in a while, it’s pretty intoxicating. Price worthy? Not sure. I feel like there is better fragrances with vanilla and chocolate. It’s good but didn’t blow my mind away.

SheogorathWaldo

Super sweet, rich, brownie batter-like chocolate scent. Delicious and intoxicating, but a tad too sweet in the drydown for me. Over a few hours, a faint woodiness sets in and the chocolate fades revealing a baked-pastry like scent similar to Serge Lutens Jeax de Peaux.

Bubbles1964

Chocolate. Vanilla. Orange spritz. In that order. Synthetic and waxy, I can’t get the candle analogy out of my mind. Also reminds me of suntan lotion. There are better chocolate gourmands out there at a fraction of the price.

I don't think this smells like Fève Délicieuse as previously mentioned. It may smell somewhat similar or in a similar vein, but not the same.

Anyways.. this basically smells like a vanilla scented candle with some spice. You know those glass candles with the glass tops? Yeah. Those.

Not a bad smell, but it does smell like a candle. And maybe somewhat like a Suave bodywash/shampoo/something as well.

If you think Tobacco Vanille smells like a candle, wait until you smell this!

larita91

First blast - chocolate heaven.
But in only after ten minutes it settles into a sintetic cloying sweet vanilla-chocolate smell.

HjK93

I'm getting a strong bitter orange for the 1st 30mins - 1hr...
But after that, pure chocolate/vanilla butter.

wxmath

Different, right of the bat dark chocolate melding into vanilla and orange with a woody background. I like it a lot and sillage/longevity is outstanding. More of a casual night fragrance than work or formal occasion. I thought it would be too sweet but the combo is just right. A keeper and one of my new faves.

psebi101

Sorriso smells like the most luxurious and delicious dark hot chocolate, very creamy, with just enough sweetness. To me, the association with hot chocolate is so real, that is one of the truest gourmands I've tried. If I struggle, I do sense a bitter orange flavor, only up close, I don't notice it in the wafts I get from normal movements. The orange is not fresh, it's like a thick syrup made from the peel because it isn't juicy nor sweet. Dries down to rich, smoky vanilla with woody backbone.

Scent: 8/10

Profumum Sorriso is a different direction for the house, a mix of chocolate, vanilla, and orange. Generally I find chocolate mixed with citrus to be a difficult combination to enjoy, whether in personal fragrance, room fragrance, or food, but in Sorriso the balance is tolerable, perhaps even slightly enjoyable.

Still, the harmony isn't all that great, as the chocolate and vanilla are pretty subdued with the orange factoring significantly. I can't say I want to wear it that much, perhaps not needing to any further, even if I had a bottle, so for that reason, I'm reasonably neutral toward the smell. I could certainly see how a fan of chocolate and orange could really love this, though, as it hits that spot effectively.

Sorriso's performance is up to the usual high standard of Profumum, fitting of a fragrance of its price and quality. At $265 for 100ml, Sorriso is slightly more expensive than most of its Profumum kin (usually $250).

It opens like Amaretto, it dries down like hot chocolate with vanilla and an almond touch. It can cause anosmia but you will receive compliment after compliment. Very good performances. On clothes, it will stay for ages. After a shower, it's like the discontinued Gucci for men, I suspect a ambroxan or iso e super base. It's a beautiful and different unisex gourmand.
I can't detect orange.

dmetzger

I have to agree with b.gracious that it has a butter scent in there. This is also perhaps the most true-to-life chocolate note I have ever smelled. It isn't a sweet fragrance per-se but is cleary edible.

Orange/vanilla creme, dark bitter chocolate, butter, and I would add that I get rare wafts of bamboo or something herbal-smokey to my nose that is out of place but not unwelcome.

Beautiful gourmand but I'm questioning where so many people get 24hr longevity and beast mode projection? I certainly don't, and by a wide enough margin to question whether my decant is off or if other people are riding their own hype trains to exaggerationville. I have yet to have a Profumum last 12 hours on my skin in near ideal conditions so either the batches are wildly different, it performs wildly different on different people, or a lot of people are wildly overstating it's performance...you decide.

Scent: 8.5/10 gorgeous, dense, edible, memorable.

Longevity: 7/10 detectable as a skin scent past the 5th hour mark for me but can go a full night out without reapplication.

Projection: 7.5/10 for the first 30 minutes to an hour or so. Drops to a 4.5/10 from hours 2-3 and down to a 2/10 past the 4 or 5 hour mark.

Sillage: 4.5/10 Im noticing a trend with Profumum's that they seem to project well (at first) but don't have a matching sillage. Whether you find that to be a bonus or not is up to you. I wish it projected and trailed much more then this.

Would I buy a full bottle: all my complaints about this considered...yes I probably will at some point. It is beautiful and knowing it won't go atomic on me is acceptable for how much I personally like the scent. Don't blind buy. Test it several times.

b.gracious

Scent - vanilla, chocolate butter.

Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one all year round, day or night.

Projection - I did get noticed, it garners compliments.

Longevity - I get 24hrs consistently.

A dark chocolate indeed, a little bitter like cacao, delicious but beware, it's very potent. It doesn't feel like purely gourmand, as it has a great amount of patchouli and dry woods as well, especially in the dry down. The lasting power is very good. I prefer a bit sweeter, simpler and less sophisticated gourmands usually, but I think I will have to get a bottle of this. As it follows you around during the day, it's really unique and comforting at the same time and grows on you.

Shwets

Earthy and woody like scent. Long lasting reminds me of autumn.

the_badger

This one is perhaps, my favorite out of all the Profumum Roma's gourmands. Having tried AeZ, Vanitas, Dulcis, Confetto and the Osswald exclusive Meringa. Like Dulcis, it has a synthetic opening but it quickly blends into a warm hot choco that stays all day.

Update.
The opening is very harsh though, I really wish they could tone it down.

emily7

Blurry blend of synthetic and allegedly pleasant, sweet-smelling notes that - in all honesty - smell quite sharp and stale. The more I smell it, the less I can single out any of the notes listed above. Not one. Very, very strange stuff.
Ultimately, what's the point? A house famous mostly for its top-quality gourmands to make something so unpresentable?
Very strange.

update: i used up my sample, and liked it more each time i applied it. perhaps the first time i tried it (after which i wrote my earlier review about the harsh plastic blast) was an off day for my body chemistry and/or for my nose. Luckyscent introd this one to me when they included it in my Anne Pliska order, and i'm so glad they did. Sorriso is a quiet, mellow cocoa vanilla, but not in an in-your-face cloying sweet candy store cloud way. bonus: my husband loves it. i just ordered a fb.

Chicago Tony T

I prefer this over Dulcis. This has a bit more character and class. The woody base sets it aside from just be another cloying gourmand. I am sampling from a crappy dab on vial and 8 hours later it is still going strong.

Oslogirl

On paper this smelles lovely of vanilla and cacao, but on my skin it developed into a wierd cacao-plastic smell. I quess it did not work out with my skin chemistry! I thought it smelled really bad on me, but funnily enough a friend of mine liked the smell:p I would not buy this for myself, and I think it is a scent you have to try on.

Hellita

As a Profumum Roma worshiper in general I expected that I would love Sorriso. Although I do love Sorriso by the name, notes, longevity and sillage-wise, the scent was close to a disaster on my skin - unfortunately (lucky for my wallet though)! This altogether makes a bitter chocolate/orange as the notes indicated and I admit that the surprise is mostly on me because I had hoped for/and partly decided beforehand that this should turn out sweeter on my skin. If you are after a non-sweet dark chocolate mixed with bitter orange you're in for a real treat, because it's really true to that scent and it'll stay with you until you wake up the next day. With Profumum Roma you really get what you're promised and their scents are so damned potent - and sometimes you've gotta love a certain fume, and sometimes you just gotta leave it for someone else to enjoy. Nevertheless - I love this fragrance house!

The outcome of Sorriso not working for me is totally fine, because now I can indulge and buy the next Profumum on my list - Dulcis in Fundo because that scent (to me) is to die for! <3

UPDATE:
Tried Sorriso again a month later than my review above, and this time it turned out totally different! A lot sweeter this time around. It developed into more of a buttery milk chocolate with hints of orange. Pretty yummy and I sniffed my wrist quite a lot throughout the day. But all in all, I'm not sure if it's my style.

seekritdude

Out of my recent samples from this house I actually thought I might like this one the most. But in fact I think it might be the most disappointing.

Although it wasnt a beast in terms of projection(which dont misunderstand this. As this like all others that ive tried from them, performance wise it did well)the first couple hours or so of this for some reason kinda put me off. I felt a little sick like it was to much, or maybe just the mix wasnt right.

After it gets a little softer it was more enjoyable, but the entire time I just sorta felt like... "thats it?" like I was waiting for some big payoff that never happened.

The smell overall was just ok for me. Nice but nothing more. Ive seen it compared to a few things namely...

1. cupcake
I didnt get this in the slightest.
2. Chocolate/vanilla milk shake
Sounds great but I didnt really get this either. More like perhaps just the froth or foam from one maybe. So you get a hint of something smelling good, teased a bit, but then you come in closer, and thats all there is. No great pay off.
3. Fudgesickle
This I can see more so. As the bitter orange perhaps it is giving it a bit off a tingle/chill to the slight chocolate smell. Tricking my nose into thinking it smells like this...

I get all the notes in this, although it is smooth. But none really stood out to me as being delicious while wearing this. And of course this is very pricey.

For me personally for the main vanillas from these house I really think dulcis in fundo is the way to go personally. These others I just cant justify at least on my skin.

paulab

This is something I would have never chosen to sample. Judging by the notes, this should NOT be my thing. Lucky Scent included this with my purchase, so I sniffed without expecting much. This opens with a rather boozy cocoa note. I am not really a gourmand fan, I don't really want to smell like food. To my nose, this is not foody although there is no missing the cocoa /orange notes. I also don't find this to be sweet, nothing like Acqua Zucchero's stickiness. This reminds me of Dead Sexy by Tokyo Milk, but much smoother and without that "sneezy" edge. This is a lasting comfort scent....and I just ordered my FB :-))

Vexel

Being on an orange binge at the moment, I was sorely disappointed to not detect any. The cocoa is more noticeable in the first couple of hours but is drowned out before and after by a marshmallowy vanilla. There is a fruity note that brings to mind cherry hiding in there as well.

All in all, it reminds me of a chocolate covered cherry on a slice of pound cake. It also reminds me of just about every dessert-themed candle and plugin in existence.

It has oomph though, I'll give it that. Lasting power is in excess of eight hours and the sillage is not unimpressive either. If I were asked to recommend a long lasting marshmallow scent, though, I'd probably point someone at the more affordable 'L' de Lolita Limpicka. Just my two cents.

Moonlocks

If Dulcis in Fundo can be called a magnificent orange dreamsicle, then Sorriso can sit beside it in the freezer as a magnificent Fudgesicle.

It's a prominent, yet soft, cocoa on a creamy vanilla base, tempered by a touch of popsicle stick. I get no orange here (certainly nothing like Dulcis in Fundo).

I find it gentle and appealing, something I would be happy to wear. I would be tempted to go for a full bottle if I had not already invested in Gourmand Coquin. Gourmand Coquin is *in your face* divine, while Sorriso is more reserved. They don't serve quite the same purpose, but it would take a budget bigger than mine to justify owning both.

alfarom

What? Are they serious? Considering the name of the fragrance, I don't think so. Italian word *Sorriso* stands for english word *Smile* but I think at Profumum they understimated the hilarious power of this stuff. It would have probably better be labelled as *Laugh* or, considering how juvenile this stuff smells, even *LOL*.

A cheap and vile concoction of cacao and hyper-sweet vanilla with a tad of the sweetest sandalwood thrown in. It would suck even in the I Tesori d'Oriente's range. Meh!...with a laugh.
