Rebelle by Rihanna is a Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women. Rebelle was launched in 2012. Rebelle was created by Marypierre Julien and Caroline Sabas. Top notes are Big Strawberry, Ginger and plum; middle notes are Cacao, Orchid and Heliotrope; base notes are Coffee, Patchouli, Amber and Musk.

After last year's edition Reb'l Fleur by Rihanna, which we have announced exclusively at TFWA 2010, Rihanna in collaboration with Parlux is launching her second fragrance named Rebelle this year.

Rebelle arrives on the market in spring 2012 as a fruity-floral with strong gourmand chords. Top notes encompass plum, strawberry and ginger; a heart offers heliotrope, vanilla orchid and cocoa absolute, while a base features a trail of musk, coffee, patchouli and amber.

The fragrance will be available in a flacon shaped like the last year's edition, created of transparent glass and red and gold surfaces.

Rebelle assortment includes 30, 50 and 100 ml EDP, as well as perfumed body lotion 200ml.

Rebelle was one of the first perfumes gifted to me as a teenager back in 2012 and I have to say this perfume created a lot of fond memories for me personally. Despite the naysayers, from memory this scent gave off fruity, amber, sweet, powdery, cocoa notes. Perfect for young girls as young girls generally love sweet scents.

This takes me back to great times at college (aka secondary school in my country). As a somewhat quite kid I appreciated this perfume often was a conversation starter because a lot of other students, boys and girls, went out of their way to ask what I was wearing and to tell me they loved it. I remember the longevity being decent and 2 or 3 spritzes lasted throughout the school day. I ended up gifting a few to my friends because they kept asking me for a spray. Thus I only ever owned 1 bottle because although I loved it I didn't like to smell like everyone else.

In the case that this scent is not for you I think its quite a safe, affordable blind-buy as a gift to kickstart any teenage girls fragrance collection. Nude Rihanna was the second fragrance in my collection and I'd say it was just as good.

Rihanna Rebelle opens with an interesting, slightly spicy strawberry, cocoa combo. in this phase it reminds me of Maria Mogadess, a niche unisex perfume which has a similar strawberry+cocoa blend but that one is much spicier.as Rebelle dries down I can still detect lots of cocoa and a hint of strawberry but they're rounded by a creamy, woodsy, slightly spicy, slightly nutty base which reminds me Oscar de la renta Oriental Lace.
The fact that it reminds me of two much more expensive fragrances shows how interesting and unique Rihanna Rebelle is. it's far from a generics, juvenile, mass appealling perfume you might expect it to be so I highly recommend you to give it a try. it's not a safe blindbuy by any means but it's worth trying because if you love it, it's as if you have won a perfume lottery.it's composition is niche-like and nothing one expects from a less than 150 bucks price tag.
Eventhough I find it a very interesting perfume, unfortunately it doesn't work for me and smelling it for a long time makes me feel sick for some weird, unknown reason(I have the same problem with Oriental Lace. I used to love it but now it makes me nauseous).I highly recommend you to wear it just on cold days or nights and don't overspray it. I can wear Rebl Fleur with no problem and I find it nice enough for a celebrity perfume but I don't find it as interesting as Rebelle. their Nude sister is my most used one as I find it pleasant and easy to wear. BTW this three sister perfumes have totally different scents. I like how their bottle looks like but after using half of the liquid, their automizer doesn't spray seamlessly anymore(I have 100ml bottles so maybe that's not a problem with smaller sizes)

Strongly disliked this fragrance the first time I tried it, then tried it for a second time today and purchased instantly. Dark cacao, strawberry’s, ginger, patchouli and coffee. Probably didn’t like this because it was really hot when I tested it but as the weather cools up, I can appreciate this perfume a lot more. It’s super unique and yummy, slightly spicy with the ginger, and very addictive. Every perfume in this line is a 10/10.

ivadim

Радвам се, че го имам заедно с лосиона за тяло, разкошна комбинация.

The smell of this one puts me off immediately. I don’t know what it is. It smells sort of unisex to me.

Queen_esther

I can see why this one is controversial but to me, this is the sexy relative of khamrah qawa and they are so so so close. This is the girlier version. There's a cinnamon opening, which then leads to a fruity rum, then finally settles into a powdery cacao and coffee, with some caramel. This is so sexy and perfect for those who adore rich dark spicy sweet scents. I'll be very upset I they discontinue this. So good.

Amethyst3

This is an acquired taste - do not choose if you hate sweet cocoa scents . It smells of a boozy tiramisu with a touch of a sharp berry which I adore . Very much a night scent and I’ve heard it described as sexy , although I think certain men would find it too sweet on a woman. Main disadvantage of this purchase was the bottle - very ugly in my opinion and uncomfortable to use or fit in luggage . Somehow it does Suit Rihanna’s brand though because it’s as bold as her .

lenap505

One of my favorites, it starts out with a semi-sweet slightly earthy tone. It kind of reminds me of fresh soil (in the best way) or vaguely of coffee grounds and subtle berries. Not a sugary berry but more on the bitter side. I don’t pick up on the chocolate honestly until the dry down and even then it’s barely noticeable to me. It’s soft and feminine without being too sweet. It’s definitely not a mature smell (or a teenage scent) but more of something you’d find in a natural setting. It’s not tethered to any one stereotype or place. Pretty mysterious fragrance.

CatOwned

I don't know if the smell changed since I've let this one sit a while, or maybe my sense of smell is now different. Anyway this smells a lot sweeter than it did at first when I wrote a review a while back. Now this smells like some sort of low concentration semi-dark chocolate with some sweet fruit added to it.

So maybe if you aren't entirely sure on this one just let it sit and "macerate" for a while and come back to it.

Moonshine_Strawberries

I haven’t had my sample long and may feel like saying something more specific later. For now I just wanted to stop by to say WOW!

I sample a lot and am rarely this impressed. Will land either in strong like or love after spending more time with it.

The cacao is definitely noticeable but very well rounded by everything else.

valentina1302

My favorite perfume, smells like a sexy dessert, but the smell it's not for everybody. You can really smell the ginger, coffee and strawberry, and that type of combination doesn't blend well with everyone's natural smell, so I guess it's better for some people to use a tester and try them out for themselves. This fragance does not last that long, so keep in mind that before buying it

Peaches77

I’m not a fan of this which is a shame because I love the Reb'l Fleur by Rihanna. The base and middle notes overpowered the top notes. Especially the patchouli and musk.

Top notes are Big Strawberry, Ginger and plum; middle notes are Cacao, Orchid and Heliotrope; base notes are Coffee, Patchouli, Amber and Musk.

CieloDream

I think Rebelle is so underrated! I love this one! I love the perfume and the fragrance mist! When I first smelled the fragrance mist of Rebelle I immediately thought it was sexy, smooth and dark. I bought it immediately. Years later I bought the perfume and I loved it just as much. I have Reb’l Fleur as well, and I know that’s the one that’s hyped up, but it’s Rebelle for me!
I love coffee & cacao notes, and my favorite fruit notes in fragrances are any type of berry and plum notes. The patchouli doesn’t bother me in this fragrance (like it does most of the time). It’s just a well blended scent. The coffee & cacao sticks out to me the most, but you get the ginger to add some spice to it, and the musk adds a touch of sexiness. My husband said it smells like spicy hot chocolate. 😂

***Tip: If you have the Rebelle Fragrance Mist, pair it with Jimmy Choo Fever. They share a lot of the same notes and it’s just a gorgeous combo!!

ThatGothBBW

I really have mixed feelings on this one. To start, this doesn't remind me of anything I have,or tried. I have reb'l Fleur and I have this. It's only ever so SLIGHTLY reminiscent of Reb'l Fleur. In my opinion, I think Reb'l Fleur is WAAAAY better. Reb'l Fleur is much more mature, way more sexy, and much less Sweet. The patchouli in Reb'l Fleur is way more prominent than it is in this. In this fragrance, it's almost non existent.

This fragrance is a gourmand, plain and simple. I can't stress that enough, it's so sickly sweet and rich. The sweetness is quite overwhelming for me, to the point it's making me a tad nauseated, and giving me a mild headache.

The strawberry mixed in with the cacao and the plum, almost smells fermented on my skin. Something in it just smells almost spoiled? It's been 20 minutes and the sweetness is a complete overkill at this point. I keep moving my arms away because it's just too much for me to handle.

Basically this does smell like a tiramisu, or even some sort of chocolate dessert, with almost no coffee, no earthy notes, no floral notes, add in some spoiled fruits, and a TON OF SUGAR!

I can't imagine wearing this in any other weather besides fall or winter, as it is quite cloying.

The more I try this, the more I'm glad that I didn't purchase a big bottle. I keep trying to convince myself that I'll enjoy this fragrance, or that it will grow on me, but I just don't.

suzanne_ronald

A piece of TIRAMISU served in a large, footed glass cake stand. Let's start with the bottle, which is a fail IMHO. Looks nice but is difficult to spray, as the bottom heaviness wants to alter the angle (less of a problem with the smaller sizes). Also this takes up too much space for what it is, declaring itself on your perfume shelf "look at me", when let's keep it real, it's a celebrity scent. That being said, this is actually a really nice chocolate-coconut-patchouli scent. This reminds me alot of chocolate fragrance oils, but it's more complex, although it requires a few months of dark storage after the first sprays to develop its complexity and performance. Before that I got a nice make-up and cocoa powder scent. But after, it's true to the notes listed with an additional coconut note (not listed) that other reviewers have noted as well, with an overall. tiramisu vibe. It's not a dupe of anything, but has some similarities to scents of the Angel range by Mugler, as well as Black XS Paco Rabanne, Maa Arwaak Rasasi, & White Diamonds Night Elizabeth Arden. Performance develops to average or slightly above average. Despite the bottle, it's a love for me. Enjoy!

JaneDough

This perfume to me smells exactly like Queen by Queen Latifah. I was not expecting that, I wanted strawberries and sweetness and got none. So if you like Queen, this is way more affordable, have you seen the prices for Queen?!? Holy cow! I don’t know how long this one lasts, I’m going to put it away and pull out in winter and hope it changes for me.

MandalaaXO

I really wished this perfume smelled like the notes, but it really doesn't on me. It might be a weird batch, but this smells like pure cedar on me, literally nothing else. I love the smell of cedar, but not on my skin. Oh well.

banshee500

This smells divine to me. I get a spicy note after spraying but it gets better on the dry down. Projection is average. This perfume is worth every penny.

This is also very wearable on hot days just mind the sprays. :)

Kyla12

This perfume smells so good! I really get a coconut tropical vibe. Also spicy, & sweet. I love it!

LaMiaRosa

My experience is similar to @Momopeach. Upon first spray there's a blast of strong patchouli. Then after the first 5 mins or so this disappates and the scent becomes more of a spicy cacao scent. It's quite well-blended so it's hard to make out individual notes, but I definitely don't get coffee at any point. What I'm getting is like a dark chilli chocolate with a plum jelly filling. As it continues to dry down it gets much creamier and sweeter, which I attribute to the strawberry, orchid and musk. I like the drydown much more than the opening or mid, although it's still not my cup of tea.

However, I do like how this scent seems to cycle through all the different notes as it dries down - it's like being on a roller-coaster with no idea where you're going next.

Overall, this is a pretty unique and very specific scent in my opinion. It's not a bad scent, it's just not for me. Sadly it gave me a headache as soon as I sprayed it on. I can see why this has a cult following, and I do think it smells much more expensive than it is. I never would have guessed it's a celebrity scent. But it's definitely not a safe blind buy in my opinion.

Edit: The longevity on this is insane. Unfortunately it was making me feel ill - the spices were overwhelming - so I had to scrub it off but even then I had a really hard time getting it off my skin.

ajrose

I enjoy this fragrance quite a bit - it's a spicy cocoa with just a touch of sweetness from the fruits. It is not sickly sweet like some cocoa fragrances can be. This fragrance has benefited from time sitting in a cupboard ignored.

It has to be said - I hate the bottle!!!!

riorebelle

Overall Rebelle its a yummy sweet warm scent dengan tiupan aura maskulin di dalamnya. So, buat kamu yang ngaku Gourmand Lovers wajib banget nihh punya parfum ini, serius! ehehe.

Momopeach

If you can get past the first 5 minutes, this is nice.

Holy patchouli. The initial spray is just way way too much patchouli and ginger and it's very off putting until it dries down. Almost headache inducing patchouli for a minute or two until it dries. I am not anti-patchouli but there is something about the ginger and patchouli mix that is just bleh.

Honestly the dry down is pretty nice and it does smell unique, I definitely get the strawberry and chocolate. The ginger is still there keeping the warm spicy vibe going but its more in the background once it dries down. I can't find the coffee.

mejevika

Cheap, synthetic-smelling, with nauseating musk. Just awful.

viewdemonde

Beautiful and soft. Lasts and lasts. Luscious dry-down.

Aiga1

Cocoa is the strongest note for me in this, but it doesn't smell delicious and gourmand, somehow it's more chemical or cold, maybe it's the patchouli. Suitable for all ages.

Taliaferro1201

I get strawberry, ginger, cacao and a little patchouli from start to finish.. Not bad, not outstanding.. it's a nice warm fall/winter fragrance.. lasts forever on clothes and I get around 5-6 hrs on skin.. a nice easy reach.. at a ridiculously cheap price..

Nocciola23

I don't really understand anyone who rates the sillage on this as anything other than intimate. I sprayed a fair amount and could smell nothing. I resprayed and got a very faint caramel.
Maybe it's me.
I did like the warmth of the scent I could smell but it was just too weak to consider.

maneki_neko

Palmer's--*specifically* Palmer's--Cocoa Butter with a rather cartoonish milk chocolate accord and a little bite from the ginger. Sillage is massive for a modern-day celebrity offering.

Beefraglover

I really don't get any of the top notes in this. Its like slight ginger and a lot of patchouli smell. I love it but if you hate patchouli this is not for you. Reminds me of the Misrule perfume from lush.

BougieGirlShops

First I'd like to address what a terrible design the bottle is, especially if you're trying to only use one hand to spritz. It's so hard to maintain a grip on it.

On the the fragrance. I really want to like this and all the notes indicate I should love this, but it just doesn't work for me. I think the plum and heliotrope lightens it up too much into cloying territory.

The chocolate is closer to easter chocolate scent, overly sweet and sugary. I get a creamy light (as in flavour) coffee with some light musk. At the end of the day it smelled like Palmer's cocoa butter.

If this is your preference for perfumes then I think it's a fantastic fragrance at a great price. I just prefer dark bitter chocolate and espresso notes. I am going to try and layer this with something dark like TF Black Orchid and see how it goes.

AllisonNW

This would be a nice office scent for fall/winter. It’s soft, doesn’t project, and is warm and comforting, like a dark cashmere. I don’t really get much of the top notes. Almost immediate drydown.

Cristidarling6387

Such a great blind buy. I don’t detect any of the fruit notes that others seem to be getting. On my skin this is a dry gourmand. I get cacao, coffee and ginger with a patchouli undercurrent. Luckily the patchouli is dry and sweet. Patchouli is hit or miss for me. Thankfully it works beautifully in this composition. This reminds me of a few different perfumes. I get Intoxicated from Kilian , Fenty by Fenty( in drydown) and Angel Muse.

purplenoon

This is indeed really nice. They have a tester of Rebelle displayed at my local drugstore, and today was the second time I tried it out after I was so pleasantly surprised on the initial test. This is a well-blended spicy gourmand that, on my skin, strongly features a pleasant mix of spices (ginger?), cacao and amber. It smells way better than the bottle looks, and could compete with designers in spite of its low price. That said, there is an annoying note here that kind of throws the composition off; somewhat sour and screechy, it might be the strawberry, and incidentally, this is the dominant note in the deep drydown.

Rebelle, in spite of its name, sits close to the skin and does not impress with its longevity. But for the money, this is a rather nice scent to have around and spray for cozy nights in, and especially so in the fall.

Peaches&Cream

I enjoy this fragrance, even though I don't get most of the notes but I get a syrupy strawberry note. I mainly get the base notes and a slight smell of the coffee peaking through but the strawberry overpowers it...which I do not mind. Rebelle lasts on me for about 8+ hours, I was stunned being that it's a celebrity scent. Rihanna did her thing when she made this perfume.

Pinkfloyde:)

I feel like you’d knock someone out if you wore this in summer.
A cheap blind buy, so there’s nothing to dig my claws into. It’s so sickeningly sweet.
On my skin; there’s no coffee, little to no cacao; just a heap of ginger and overwhelming strawberry. It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting.
Definitely not something I’d wear, but everyone else I know seems to enjoy it. Kind of reminds me of La nuit tresor- they both seem heavily strawberry centred on my skin.
Nice bottle, though.

xxgetaway

This smells expensive to me. I get a little bit of Angel Muse from this, but it's not sweet one me - but quite dry, with almost woody qualities. Overall a beautiful ginger - bitter chocolate - coffee concoction with quite a bit of Amber on a bed of patchouli. I prefer this in warmer and humid weather. Love layering it with almonds.

likesleet

light and sweet no specific notes detected, just fruity. wish i actually got the notes.

cynthiad623

Summer scent.

coffeebean83

This perfume is very interesting. It's initially a ginger bomb. So if you don't like that note stay far far away. After the ginger calms down a bit you start noticing the cacao which in this fragrance comes across like dry cocoa powder sitting in the background. Then that becomes subtly mixed with a bitter coffee soon after. I wouldn't describe this perfume as sweet. If there is any its very subtle. Even the cacao is on the unsweetened side. Overall those are the most prominent notes imo. I feel like this scent has a bit of a niche vibe to it and it wouldn't be a universal love. I do love it though. I'm halfway through my bottle now and will repurchase if possible. Longevity and projection moderate.

Edited to add update: After having this and it sitting for a long long time I'm now getting that big strawberry at the top that I was not picking up at all initially. It's strawberry and ginger heavy on top now. Then the other notes(esp that powdery cacao and bitter coffee) come in slowly with the top still lingering throughout.

Maddiec1999

Accidentally grabbed this one instead of the Reb’l Fluer. Don’t hate it but don’t love it. It seems like there is just too much going on it almost smells dirty. Definitely for cooler weather. The price is good for the bottle size but it doesn’t last longer either. You would like it if you are into gourmands….

Fatima1219

This is a wonderful fragrance! It is bright, bold, and full of personality. One of my favorite fragrances in my vast collection--perfect for date night.

CatOwned

Not my favorite opening, but the dry down is worth it.

editing to add... This smells just like the cedar wood in saunas! Or perhaps a spiced tea. It doesn't smell that sweet on me.

SummerRose

I love this perfume. I was intrigued by the notes so I blind bought Rebelle as I was unable to test it. On first spray, I get the strawberry, the ginger and the plum. A beautiful combination - a bit sweet, a bit spicy, yummy. Shortly after, I get the cacao and a slight floral scent which is well blended. I then feel something grounding the fragrance making it warm, deeper, sexier and interesting. I don't smell the patchouli or the coffee but the musk comes through on my skin making it a bit airy even though it's deep.

I would say this is a totally different fragrance to Reb'l Fluer and it is indeed it's own fragrance. This could be worn going out, night time, cooler weather or maybe anytime.....

Two perfumes come to mind when I smell Rebelle, Mugler Angel Muse and Prada Candy Night. I wouldn't say this is a dupe for either of them but it has a similar vibe with some similarity with the notes. In other words, if you like any of those you may like this.

Overall, I think Rebelle is a lovely fragrance that smells more expensive than what it is. It could easily pass for a designer or niche fragrance. It has moderate projection and longevity and it is good value for money. I wouldn't call this mass appealing so it may be best to test it before you buy. I would rate it 4/5. Great job Rihanna! I'm 10 years late but it is worth it.

Vabeachtiff

Refined, delicious, exquisite! I prefer this over Rebl Fleur. She should be charging more for this! Smells so niche and luxe. Yes, the patchouli is heavy, but I dig every note and think it's blended so well. An instant love.

Melaniesherriff

Love the bitter cocoa mossy notes leans more masculine than feminine. Great to layer with but on it's own it's a bit bland it just feels lacking in something

Lotte_Liese

The coffee note (which I bought it for) seemed to be missing altogether but with a short blast of fruit in the opening, it quickly developed into a rather linear, gingery, delicious caramel-like gourmand fragrance with a ton of cacao-heliotrope reminiscent of Jil Sander's Simply Poudree Intense.
I write in past tense because the fragrance was so weak (low projection and silage) that I became anosmic to it and gave it to someone who appreciated it more.
Underwhelming was what it was. The bottle shape was also a pain to use and store.
In addition, it did cling to clothing for 24 hours, but as a skin scent with no projection.

AutumnJewel

Note For Myself: I love this so much because it’s the fragrance I wore when I met my s.o.
Warm , slightly spicy from the ginger ( imagine the warmth from the spice of ginger not necessarily the flavor/scent) gourmand! Just the perfect amount of fruit …lasts about 4-6 hours , longer when it’s cold.

redberrykitty

Very black coffee and unsweetened cocoa forward. The strawberry is very faint, unfortunately, but otherwise I like this scent. The patchouli does come through and is pretty earthy, so this isn't for everyone. This has a slight sweetness, but is mostly spicy and deep. Very strong and long-lasting!

Mommyk78

I wish I could smell the strawberries and cocoa or coffee in this but sadly I don’t. All I get is an earthy scent that’s nauseating. I definitely do not recommend blind buying this.

Nae-267

Just sniffing the perfume cap, I get this caramel deliciousness. Unfortunately when I spray it, I mostly get the spice notes but with a little bit of sweetness. I can't smell the coffee in this at all. On me this is a pretty long lasting scent but I wouldn't repurchase it.

xValerijax

I am not blind buying any more perfumes.

I do not understand how this is coffee. If we were talking about a hot beverage this would be hot white chocolate with strawberry. I wonder what kind of coffee people are drinking...

Anyway, I would not categorize this as a hot beverage ingredient. This is strawberry jam vanilla cake at the beginning, then it turns into a very very very lactonic strawberry vanilla pudding. I can really smell the milk and heavy vanilla with strawberry jam mixed in.

It is different, but it is not like Angel at all. Not even slightly... I really have to stop watching youtubers and reading fawning reviews. This has been described as a coffee cacao perfume by a lot of them, or Angel muse...

Fix yo schnoz! Or stop the lies :D

EDIT: I smelled Kilian Black phantom, it immediately reminded me of Rebelle. And I don't like that one either. ;D

PerfumeAddict30

This smells different on skin, bottle and clothes. On my fresh moisturize skin it reminds me of the original Thierry Mugler (not Loreal formulation) with the Patchouli and kind of coconut sweet yet super complicated. This lasted atlest 6+ hours. However on my clothes it lasted a good 9 hours.
If you appreciate the old Angel by Thierry Mugler, the old formulation then you would like this one. I would not say a dupe but it's in the same smells and vibe. The Angel I actually is a beast mode. Like 24 hours mode. Even after 2 washes with Rose soap I can still smells that. This is a good alternative for close encounter such as office if you're scared to wear the OG Angel.

bluebanisters

Firstly, I give major props to this perfume being quite a unique scent, especially as a celebrity perfume. With that in mind, I really wish I liked it more. This is purely a personal preference, but the strawberry is a bit too sour for me and doesn't compliment the cacao, which is ultimately the heart of the perfume. (I don't detect much coffee here, perhaps the cacao just overpowers it that much.) I would say not to blind buy if you can help it.

Bloomistry

A pleasant cacao-coffee fragrance. Patchouli-forward. Soft and warm feminine musk with a moderately resinous amber base. Not sweet, but smooth and rich. The patchouli is probably responsible for the pastry / cake vibe some are getting. This one seems highly susceptible to skin chemistry. On me it was a very quiet skin scent but with decent longevity. I'm giving it to my partner and I'm curious to see how it will smell on her. I have Yves Rocher Nouveau Genre in my collection, and it has the same chocolate cake patchouli that this does, but it's definitely unisex and performs better for me too.

Kaylovely

It smells like Cannabis blue by FDB.
My dog told me to retry this. So I sprayed it on myself. Yum strawberry fruits with heavy dose if chocolate butter. Reminds me of meltmyheart with fruit less orris. Yummmm

ParisLoveXo

Love // hate with this . I bought it then put it up for sale for months and it didn’t sell so I said let me try it again and I’m actually liking it . Time it smells different if you sniff it from bottle to on my skin . On my skin it’s beautiful . Orchids with strawberry chocolate / coffee notes . It’s a unique scent but feminine and smooth .. not screechy . A night scent for sure and slightly deep yet spicy not in a masc way .
This just puts me in the mind set of mini dress high heels night out . A unique beautiful scent

Noamzar

Smells like strawberry hookah

Trishaaa

I definitely picked up on the warm spicy alright. This thing lasts ages! Woke up the next day with it still on me and normally a perfume wouldn't stay on me for that long. This is definitely for the colder weather and for the night time. I feel like this will be a very mixed bag for reviews, as it's really strong and steers away from the fresh and floral fruitiness which you'd normally expect for womens' perfume. I quite like the smell, but this is a bit bold for me to wear. Definitely not for the office haha. word of warning though, I wouldn't blind-buy this.

Hasti_b

That's so warm , so sweet and great longevity , good choice for winter and night

GUADELUPA

It's very beautiful scent of coffee, cacao and strawberry. I think, it's even unique in its kind. Warm, suitable for both winter and summer. Longevity and sillage is good enough, better on clothes. The bottle is wonderful, though uncomfortable for use due to its shape. But the fragrance in it is one of my favourites. Definitely I recommend it!

ag333

I wrote this one off because of the notes and the negative reviews. I went to test Reb'l fleur and asked to test this one too. I like this one better! the opening is definitely spicy! ginger really takes it all and it lingers for a good amount of time too. I mostly smell the cacao, the coffee, some patchouli and a beautiful amber during the dry down. I wouldn't say its extremely well blended but it is a nice warm & spicy yet feminine scent. I think if it were more refined or had better ingredients this would be a stand-out upper end frag. I'm really glad I found this hidden gem. I can wear it alone but I started layering with vanilla 28 and its amazing. I haven't received any compliments yet, which I usually only receive 1 or 2 when I wear it out but I wear it for myself :) I see why people used to say Rihanna smells like so unique & "like heaven", this scent is really special. On my skin it warms up beautifully with amber but never smells dirty. My boyfriend likes it and says it soft, warm but thinks it smells like soap. I think I may have smelled it before because it reminds me of a celebrity scent of the time. I've always been a Rihanna fan so maybe I used to smell this in the store but I was way too young to wear it. I have a 15ml but will likely buy a full bottle for next winter.
honestly, I see how some people do not like this and even hate it! It's not for everyone and its spicy, its patchouli, its coffee. Those notes alone make it polarizing.

Kaywees

Blind buy for me after reading reviews here. I like it. The strawberry is quite strong. I’m not great at picking out the different notes. Lovely sweet gourmand fragrance. For the price I paid I’m happy with it.

kurzemesradioel

This is my sweet white chocolate cupcake that i can enjoy all day without gaining weight! :)

And I can even share it with friends, since it projects and lasts so good! :)

Danielle104

For me, I get a sweet, creamy mocha with a shot of ginger. The strawberry is short lived in the opening but the drydown is a gourmand delight.

Hypnotic Flower

I just sold mine. To me, this stinks like the plague. I don't know what it is and I truly I wished I could smell this chocolate strawberry pastry vibe that many people are able to smell. I don't smell coffee, chocolate or anything gourmand, just a disturbing earthy patchouli.
One of my most hated perfumes ever.

2whit2quit

Trying to appreciate more gourmand fragrances to warm me up this winter. Testing Rebelle for the first time today. This really is big juicy strawberries dipped in chocolate. I like it a lot so far, and it lasted all day.

Patrice 123

Angel Muse gone bad. Screechy, rubbing alcohol, badly blended fruitchuli mess. I’ll stick with Muse.

Jadeeeee

If you’re a lover of Spicy Gourmands. This may be the WON for you. The ginger is strong in this fragrance. Definitely the top note in this blend. It mellows out to a super sweet & spicy bundle of joy.

Lots of people don’t, but I definitely smell the BIG strawberry in this, & it is sooooo yummy & unique! The spicy notes may overpower the fruity notes. However the fruit is definitely there & my nose detects it all.

This may be my winter signature fragrance.

I get the cocoa too, you cannot deny the sweetness of this fragrance.

This is for a confident, fearless, fun, sweet but spicy woman forsure.

I own plenty of niche fragrances & this celebrity fragrance is in my top favs of all time. This is long lasting. I get about 7-8 hrs & I love to overspray this! For the value I do not feel guilty about it!

artpopmixer

I wore this exclusively between 2012-15 and never have I had so many compliments on how I smell. It’s such a unique long lasting perfume that is the perfect blend of Coffee, Coco and patchouli with a soft sweet side coming from the orchid and the strawberry. Laying it with the body lotion always brought the chocolate out more and made it smell sooooo creamy and warm.
It’s since been reformulated and doesn’t last as long as it used to but the smell of the fragrance is pretty similar. If you want the real Rebelle experience that is sexy, lush and dreamy go for the bottles that were made between 2012-16 and they are simply stunning. The newer reb’l fleur (which is almost as good as this) is easier to tell the new bottle as the original perfume the band on the lid is black and gold, now on the newer watered down version it’s just gold.
Rihanna may have the best celebrity fragrance line in terms of originality, uniqueness and lasting power with fab prices.

_D.a.p.h.n.e_

The opening is exactly like smelling the middle of a chocolate covered strawberry!!! So delicious!!! The dry down is chocolate and patchouli and it's very similar to Angel Muse

Ali Langer

This is a fragrance that I bought years ago and only kept for a short time. I sprayed it on a few different instances, but for some reason, it repulsed me back then. It smelled off—dusty or something.

However, as the years passed, and as my tastes changed, I’ve been on the hunt for a perfume with a strong coffee note. In my search, I saw that Rebelle not only has a note of coffee, but also notes of cacao and ginger. And since it’s so cheap I thought, why not try it again?

Well, Rebelle doesn’t satisfy my craving for a coffee fragrance, but it DOES satisfy my craving for a spicy/sweet and affordable fall fragrance. To me, the powdery cacao is the most prominent note and is supported by the ginger, coffee, and patchouli, resulting in a concoction that reminds me of a cup of spiced hot chocolate. I have no idea why I didn’t like this back in the day, but glad I do now! Performance is moderate, and it’s perfect for fall and winter, day or night.

fgamz

I have noticed that Rihannas perfume have a similar powdery type of smell to it. Sadly that DNA doesn't do well on my skin.

When I tried this I was expecting to smell the cacao and coffee but all I smelt was reb'l fleur. This had no other notes and I could have sworn I put the wrong perfume on but no. It was this one. I've come to the conclusion Rihannas perfume are just not for me.. I did say her note structure is different and should be something amazing and niche but sadly I don't get that from her fragrances. They need more work into them!

I do find they last a LONG time though so if you do like them, lucky you. 😭

AcerSaccharum

So far, this is a no for me--well, maybe more of an "incredibly disappointed." On paper, just add booze, and those notes amount to everything I want to consume/sink into/be comforted by in cold weather. On my skin, I get a quick (very quick) blast of strawberry and a faint suggestion of cacao before what I'm assuming is the patch (very cedar-y and pencil shaving-y here) tramples them into submission, and that's pretty much all I get right through the drydown. Same thing on fabric. Maybe it's not cold enough? Will hold this one in reserve for when the weather is truly ghastly. There's got to be more to it. Right? Hm.

Nikkit94

I’m pleasantly surprised with this fragrance! Blind bought it at Ross for $10 for 1 oz. Initial spray and it was a bit harsh with spicy ginger and lots of patchouli (reminded me of wood shavings) but the dry down is truly beautiful. On my skin in turned into a woody, cocoa, resinous, sweet, slightly spicy, and creamy scent. It still has the patchouli in the background but it’s more tamed and complements the cocoa and amber notes. I couldn’t stop sniffing my arm! It’s a very cosy, warm, close to the skin scent. Only drawback for me is that it doesn’t seem to last long on my skin or my clothes. This perfume reminds me of staying indoors on a cold night reading a book by the fireplace, wearing a chunky cashmere sweater. Btw I did not smell any strawberries anywhere, maybe a jammy dark plum but no strawberries.

Starlight_moon

This was a blind buy and sadly not so successful. I can't smell any of the officially listed notes, it just smells gross to me. I don't even know what I am smelling, to be honest. It's not alluring or attractive scent.

obssessedsniffer

No spiciness, chocolate, or strawberry just straight patchouli smells like the other Rebelle Fragrances.

sarahshere1999

I really love this perfume. first had it when I was 14, reminds me of when I got it as a gift for Christmas! smells creamy, chocolate! I adore it :)

Juspaigeme

I own nothing like this perfume it’s sooo unique. It’s sweet, spicy, bold and sexy! I mainly get ginger, strawberries, plum, cacao, coffee, and patchouli. It’s not a bad patchouli though so if you usually pass on perfumes with patchouli don’t overlook this one just because of that.. I get more of the cacao/coffee than the patchouli. I’m not really able to pick up on the flowers. I’ve seen it compared to angel muse which I get but this one is way more wearable in my opinion. If I spray this in the morning I still get whiffs of it at the end of the night and it ends up being chocolatey-strawberry-musky. I’ve noticed people either love it or hate it... it took me a few times of trying it before I really started to appreciate it and now it’s literally one of my all time favorite perfumes. I will never not have this in my collection. I don’t think it’s a safe blind buy but if you’re anything like me for this price I’d be willing to risk it. You can usually find this at Marshall’s or Tj maxx for around $20.

LittleMissYellow

A very unique scent!! tbh when I first sprayed it, I didn't really like it. But I think it's because I've never smelled anything like that before.. especially with the cocoa note. On me, it kinda smells like weetbix?😩 Is it the ginger? Patchouli? idk. But as of right now, I'm not going to say its horrible just because it's a scent i'm not used to. I am totally gonna give it more chances!! There have been a few perfumes in the past that I didn't like at first but overtime, grew on me, so I'm hoping Rebelle will be one of those. Seems really good for colder days.

almondluver1

Holy guacamole, the patchouli in this one is no lie 😂🤯!! Test first if you don’t like patchouli!! I actually don’t mind patchouli but there are days I have to stay away from them because they make me nauseous (I’ve gotten nauseous from wearing this and Rebl Fleur in the past 😭) so I def have to be in the mood for them. The patchouli here is on the same level as Rebl Fleur and Angel Muse to me, aka SUPER HEAVY.

This is a cacao patchouli perfume- the main notes I’m getting are cacao (slightly spiced with ginger & coffee) and patchouli. I love this ♡︎ because I’m a sucker for cacao, but again, the patchouli can be nauseating and it sorta keeps it from being a full gourmand which kinda stinks

I bought this as a blind buy on someone else's recommendation - but I do not recommend blind buying this. I imagine this is a very polarising fragrance. Basically, do you like a metric tonne of patchouli that drowns out everything else? If so, buy it. If not, pass.

Actually quite impressive for a celebrity fragrance in that the longevity and sillage are huge. The bottle is horrible, but I don't buy fragrances based on the bottles they come in.

I am trying desperately to detect the cacao/coffee notes, but I'm failing. I'm not sure where the "big strawberry" is, either. The patchouli is gatekeeping everything else and it just won't let up. It's definitely the same patchouli that's in Angel and it's flankers. I'm going to give it a chance for a bit longer, as it seems from other reviewers that you can u-turn on this!

Update 7 months later: I didn't u-turn. Still too much dirty patchouli. It's a no. I'm giving it away.

powederedoranges

So, for context, I can't get around Mugler Angel, but I really enjoy Rebelle. The patchouli is barely noticeable for me - I do get a lot of coffee, maybe a bit of chocolate, some ginger, and a hint of "Big Strawberry" (just an aside - absolutely lol-ing that the note is "Big" strawberry and not just strawberry... is there some difference? Does this strawberry have an agenda to push?). Because of the heavy notes like patchouli and coffee and chocolate I find this lasts quite long on me, and has pretty OK sillage. It's sweet, but with a nice bitter undercurrent to stop it being syrupy. It is fairly heavy though, I wouldn't wear this in the summer or in a crowded place personally. I like it when I'm at home and want to be cosy, or going out for dinner and want to be a bit mysterious and sexy.

Gannibalka

This perfume is so sexy. The patch here is very strong, so you have to be okay with that to like this perfume.

cassiesta

Ok, so while I love this, it smells so much better and more complex sprayed into the air or on clothes. It has such a strong scent and is so cheap for a full size bottle I don't mind spraying it into the air every now and then. On my skin the scent quickly settles into a mocha coffee scent that's kind of basic, but sprayed as mentioned before I can smell the cigar/tobacco which makes this more complex, sultry, and sophisticated. I've sprayed this on my sheets and the smell is just so sexy. It definitely says confidence. I love this, just wish there were a version that retained the scent when sprayed on my skin. Oh and I forgot to mention the strawberry or fruitiness that also adds to the complexity of this.

I'm not crazy about the bottle, but the juice inside is what is important, plus it smells much more expensive than it is.

moonsunstars

This is so good! Rihanna has such a great line of fragrances. Rebelle honestly reminds me quite a bit of Mugler's Angel. I do pick up the patchouli the most - as well as Cocoa and a bit of Coffee. It's really hot out today, but since I am at home I wanted to wear this. Love the way it layers with Vanilla Bean Noel (Lotion and Body Mist).

ByStarlight

Listen...this has the same type of patchouli as Angel and its flankers, and it absolutely overwhelms everything. The chocolate and coffee are present if you search for them in the nuclear cloud of patchouli. Strawberry is completely missing for me. I’m truly stunned that anyone claims to smell anything beyond patchouli in this one. If you hate Angel, stay far away from this one.

Patrikas

I was really interested because of the coffee and cocoa. Initially opens with a huge blast of grandma-ish ginger, then slowly sets into this warm, flowery (?) very slightly cocoa scent. I wish i smelled more of the coffee, that’s why it got me interested. Not the worst thing I’ve smelled, but sold it on a whim

sparklyunicorn

I love the scent cloud this one creates on me... coca powder, cozy goodness! It is a delectably sweet gourmand. I don't like to smell it sometimes too close because the patch can be a bit too much, but it is slowly growing on me and I think I will soon love this one as so many do. Right now it is a strong like, especially if I don't spray too much or too close to my face.

mermaidhotel

Blind buy bungle. Just smells like Weet-Bix to me.

glitterfalls84

I want to do right by this perfume. I had purchased and reviewed this close to 3 years ago. HATED it. Went so far as to say I was hoping I could mix it with something else in order for it to be decent enough for me to use it. Well, you know how that goes. My hand automatically reaches out for the scents I enjoy and have no problem with instead of one I dislike and I have to mix with something else.

I honestly can't tell you what changed for me. I don't really think 3 years is that much of a gap. This perfume came out in 2012 and it's not like I tried it then, hated it and then I tried it in 2021 and something changed and I'm enjoying the fragrance now. I'm honestly curious if the body wash I'm using is making something transform for the perfume? I LOVE Suave's coffee body wash and I can still smell traces of coffee on me long after I'm done bathing. Anyway, the first spritz of the perfume is still a bit strong for me but it really blends into a nice strawberry and ginger scent on me. I honestly might reconsider getting another bottle for backup.

I also respect this perfume because it's long lasting. I sprayed it on me a few hours before I went to bed and I'm still smelling a light trace of it now. I had been on a Britney perfume buying binge the last few times I've bought perfume and the last few have honestly disappointed me because they have the strength of a body spray. I realize we're talking cheap celebrity perfumes and it might be easy to say "It's cheap so at least it's not so bad if I dislike it, feel like it doesn't last no time." I guess I'm not that way. Don't get me wrong, I don't want something so strong that a person down the street can smell me. I like something strong that does have a nice lasting time.

Something that surprises me: I had said on another perfume that I was prejudice against Patchouli notes because of how much I think My Burberry reeks. This perfume has that note listed but I'm not really smelling it on me.

So yeah, I'm enjoying this perfume now. I can't full blown do a recommendation for somebody to blind buy something that I'm sitting here saying I hated to begin with and now enjoy. Try testing out the tester if you see one located at the store. You might love it right off the bat and buy it right away or you might spray it, hate it and buy something you're actually gonna like instead.

PoisonAfterDark

This was a blind buy. I bought the body mist that's easily available at drugstores so I won't comment on silage and longevity, but the scent itself I am shocked it's a celebrity scent. I usually don't like celebrity scents because they're too commercial and they all have the same sweet, floral, innocent vibe to me, but this one is different. Someone else said it smelled like coffee, chocolate, and spices. I agree. Another one I'd label as a cozy scent.

takema

Looking at the notes I really thought I was going to love this one. I am wondering if it's the plum that is turning me off, I have disliked a few fragrances in which plum is a dominant note. It is a rich, sweet, slightly spicy warm fragrance, all things that appeal to me, but I find it cloying with an unpleasant sourness.

The longevity and sillage are better than average, especially for a celebrity fragrance, so if the scent works for you this is a great buy. I am not really a fan of the bottle design. I don't mind so much how it looks, but it’s function (not helped by the fact mine has a defective sprayer). The 100ml bottle is especially cumbersome to handle. The very wide base and narrow top make it a little difficult to work the sprayer and hold the bottle with one hand. Someone with dexterity issues or pain in the hands may find it impossible to use. I also find the bottle excessively tall and wide, so it takes up a lot of room, but that's only a problem for someone who has a larger collection (or minimal storage/display space).

Looking at the Love to Hate rating Rebelle it is obviously a bit of a polarizing fragrance, so probably isn't a safe blind buy, except for the price. This line of fragrances really ran the gamut for me. Nude was bland and weak, this one is a bit overwhelming and unpleasant to my nose and Reb'l Fleur was a very strong like.

Madyana

This is my third review of this scent, no other fragrance has ever turned my mind so totally!! I can really distinguish the delicious note of chocolate too! So here my last 2(+1) points for this. 6/5! Indeed! 🤩

jamir6789

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! My favorite out of Rihanna's entire collection! Warm spicy gourmands are my thing. A lighter more wearable version of Angel muse if Angel muse is too spicy for you. The ginger & cacao is divine in this. Opens with ginger & plum followed by cacao & coffee. Dries down to a soft coffee scent. Little to no floral. A dream! lol This is easily unisex. A man or woman can enjoy this.

Only con is the longevity. I get maybe 2 hours if I'm lucky. But its worth it to reapply.

Scent - 10/10. Spicy oriental gourmand heavy on ginger & coffee

Sillage - 3/10 Maybe 2 hours

Packaging - 4/10. I do not like the shape of the bottle. Makes it difficult to hold.

Overall - 10/10 just a divine scent!

blackoutinthezone

Finally purchased a bottle after years, I tested this out a long time ago and liked it then. HOWEVER, when I bought the bottle and sprayed, it instantly smelt...weird. A sharp 'fruity/minty' smell (assuming this is the 'spicy' smell) that I've smelt before...and then it hit me! Smells like With Love by Hilary Duff (discontinued).

I'm talking about the initial spray, when it dries down it smells warmer. I guess they both smell similar because of the spices. Honestly I hated it at first, then I concluded that I like it after all.

Whoever said this smells like Private Show by Britney is LYING! Haha, sorry to you but this smells nothing like it at all.

Deutsch100

I am incredibly impressed with this. I have probably 6-7 Tom Ford Private Blends, 4-5 Chanel (including 3 Exclusives) and Rebelle is one of my most complimented scents. It's always like this, right? LOL

I do NOT smell any strawberry, I mean none. But Rebelle is like a warmed toffee, caramel nutty scent...but it is not like food or a baked good for the most part. Since I have worn Angel edP since 1994 and Angel Muse for at least 4 years...I do not smell the comparisons, but I actually understand how people come to them ;) Rebelle is perfectly unisex...but this is and should be the case for EVERY scent. If you like it, wear it!

Little wafts of chocolate/cocoa come in and the patchouli is very soft and delicate; not medicinal or pungent like it can be sometimes.

Sillage is very soft, but longevity is great on my scent devouring skin; I easily get 6+ hours. In fact, the last 2 "you smell good" compliments I got whilst wearing Rebelle came hours and hours after I applied 4-5 sprays. It of course lasts 10+ hours on your shirt. For the price of this, you must get it. I will forewarn you though...the bottle looks and feels dreadfully cheap, but the scent more than makes up for it!

MaxieF

This smells like Britney Spears Private show. Not quite as strong and just a tad sweeter. I like them both and will keep them cause they're great but no need to own both if you already have one cause they're like 95% similar.

Edit: after having this and trying to make it work I just can't. There's something bitter in it. It smells like alcohol and not in a good way. Private show is much better.

My boyfriend said this is what his poop smells like the morning after binge drinking tequila or vodka...and now...I can't unsmell it..

nurhika.yasmin

It’s a warm spicy with lite, floral hint perfume. The ginger mixed with orchid & heliotrope notes are pretty noticeable to me. Can’t really smell the coffee and strawberry in this perfume, which is sad because I blind bought it based on my perception of these 2 notes. I picked up the faint cacao scent after 2nd application. I agree with some reviews below - not a safe blind buy unless you are familiar with the notes combo. The dry down is warm. Something classic & elegant about Rebelle - transports me back to my life in the 90s. I think we all have issues with the bottle’s design. Well... Still getting to know this perfume 🥰

poppyetpear

Holy shit! I was so excited to try this, I blind ordered. For me, the patchouli runs the show. I don't mind patchouli in the background, but this is the forefront on me with a little pinch of chocolate in the back somewhere, but I'm having trouble accessing it. I think I may try again, but right now it's a meh.

There is a hint of something sweet and lovely in this that I my nose can almost access, but on my skin, the patchouli is holding it hostage.

Also, the bottle is a bad design. There's really nothing to hold onto to spray it. It just slides from the bottom of your fist.. You almost need a grip glove to hold the bottle to spray it. I'll pass on this one.

perfumecandygirl26

Excuse me.. Might be my untrained nose, but I have Rebelle, Love Always, and Fleur and they all smell alike to me🤷🏿♀️

FiligreeAngel

Wow! I mean WOW. Now this is a great find.

The aesthete in me insists though that this gorgeous juice be in a much nicer and more user-friendly bottle. I mean...seriously!!

Saw a review further down describing this to be like a resinous marmalade (I would personally say 'and strawberry jam') and I couldn't agree more. I can't smell the cocoa per se but I know it's there due to what I can only describe as a depth to the sweetness up top. But then the patchouli does that too.

10/10

Jstriker

I love this so much! It is very chocolatey to me. Stays like crazy without much of a shift. A no brainer for the price

Laralaritaaa

Oh I wanted to love this one . Bought this one based on the notes and rave reviews but I just can’t deal with it, I gave it to my mom who loves this scent. First of all, the opening is so pungent! The plum smells almost rotten and very spicy due to the ginger. When it settles down the coffe beans and cacao appears, this is the only fase I like from this perfume. Sadly it doesn’t last long since the patchouli (a very masculine one) appears and leads until the end. I tried a lot with this frag. One thing for sure, it’s complex and quite unique. Also the price point is great. I don’t think is a safe blind buy regardless.

AndreaValerie

This is such a unique and beautiful fragrance wow! I am so impressed by this! Firstly the lasting power on this for a celebrity fragrance on my skin is 6 hours but on my clothes is 8+ and you can smell it all day long with the same sort of intensity and strength as when you first spray it. To me this definitely is just a very warm, spicy chocolately coffee vanilla with a dark sensual fruity/floral background and that signature Rihanna perfume note you find in Reb’l Fleur also present. It’s such a gorgeous smell that has received many compliments on me. I love it and will definitely repurchase!

ScorpionX

This is one exquisite fragrance! A rich scent of dark plums and berries, cacao, warm patchouli. If you have ever had the pleasure of owning a classic vintage chypre perfume of Miss Dior this has the same patchouli and powdery chypre dry down. A classic chypre but with the added depth of smooth rich cacao and seductive dark berries. Not a sweet chocolate box scent like Mugler Angel, this is far more sophisticated and subtle, the slight edge of coffee to the predominate cacao to tone down the sweetness. It is well suited to either day time cold weather or a seductive evening fragrance. You'll get so many compliments from the gents. Just a well balanced richly scented fragrance. I'll always have this beauty in my collection. Well done Rhi-Rhi!

echurch1979

Why do I get this strong impression that Rebelle is just an American version of Fatale Intense? And Fatale was just the first cousin to Black Cherry and Amber. I thought 'surely not', but after seeing the "Reminds Me Of" section above, this seems to represent one of the most mainstream scent profiles of the last decade. It's good, don't get me wrong, but oh so familiar. So for me, Rebelle becomes awash with those about it, and with limited space, this feels superfluous and dispensable.
Sigh. Well, he we go:
It starts with a jammy, sticky plum and strawberry marmalade. Don't be fooled, however, the fruit here is dark and bruised; stewed down and resinous. The fruity chords go so low in tone, that the cacao and coffee become the sparkling soprano notes. I'm not going to lie, that is pretty cool, and does require very skillful hands to achieve. Which brings me to the next wonderful thing. This was composed by two intriguing perfumers: Sabas and Julien, and in this male dominated field, that is a very special achievement indeed! Dry down transcends into an earthy chypre, with patchouli taking the wheel. At times this seems a bit too alkaline - harsh and pungent. But just when it seems all together too much, it breaks into a lovely, very soft, pleasant and aromatic floral. Again, not bad. I won't even complain about the obvious flaws in the design of the bottle - that's just low hanging fruit. If only there were less competitors for its profile, this lovely lady could step forward and shine. Oh well.

Cami.gonzales

One of my faves. I appreciate the spice in this perfume because i have a lot of fruity, sweet, and floral notes in my collection but this perfume is nothing like any of them

elegantshnozzie

What an unexpected gem! This perfume is what I love about fragrance journeys. An undercover niche quality delight.

One of the noses behind Rebelle, Caroline Sabas, worked on Etat Libre d'Orange's You or Someone Like You and the personality and unique nature carries into this fragrance. Getting Rebelle is like scoring a ELDO perfume for under 20 bucks.

It opens with a juicy strawberry blast and settles into a waxy coconut-chocolate cloud. This definitely is not linear on the skin, which allows for a more interesting "ooo" "ahhh" type of wear.

Really glad I found this at Burlington for a steal. If you find it, pick it up, it's not what you'd expect.

SeenaMarie

I truly wish I could like this, but I can't. There is a note in it that bothers me, and I can not figure out what it is! It might be the chocolate and something spicy, or maybe it's something else but it is so unpleasant to my nose. The only positives I can give this fragrance is complexity, price mark, the dark colored juice, longevity of the fragrance, and the projection. When sprayed, it adheres to every single thing in the surrounding vicinity, and that might be a good thing if you like this. I almost hate it, and I smell it everywhere with only one spray. If I had to designate a season to this fragrance, it would be winter for sure! The colder the better! Please do not wear this during hot months, I can not fathom this scent in the dead of summer. That's all folks...

flyingfish90

This is definitely one of my most unique fragrances (I don't have any big name fragrances so I suppose you can take that with a grain of salt) but I don't have anything in my collection that smells like this. Most of my fragrances are fruity florals, and a couple of gourmands. This fragrance on my skin is mostly the base notes, with the middle notes peaking their heads up every once in a while. I absolutely love it! I will be wearing it often and I love how long it lasts! I went to bed with it, 9 hours later I can still smell it on my skin and clothes! Great for fall and winter.

EDIT: I actually mostly smell the top notes with the other notes in the background for a few hours until it dries down. I also can still smell the strawberry and ginger on my clothes hours later (heavenly)

Siani320

I definitely agree that if you love angel mugler, you’ll love this. It’s a very hefty gourmand and there’s nothing subtle about it - in the best way possible. If only the longevity lasted longer

MissM

Well, to my neurodivergent brain, this scent is everything I would ever want (in a perfume).

Longevity. Three spritzes in the morning and I'll catch whiffs of it throughout the day.

Personality (this is important, as I barely have one lol). To me, this is a sauntering boss of a perfume, the type men stumble over themselves to get the door for every time. I might smile and say thank you but Rebelle may whoosh past without a word or look in their direction. Then again, she may shoot a wry wink over her dark glasses. A few men have bragged about the time she stopped, dropped everything and praised them to the heavens, making them feel like Sir Galahad. And obvious point-scoring aside it may well be true: after all, the lady simply does as she pleases!

And finally, the fragrance itself! I wish I was not so ignorant on this topic, the accords, ingredients, etc. It is gorgeous. On me, there's barely any strawberry but the coffee, cacao and incense notes come through nice and intense. A slow burn, this one. It just about smoulders. Has more sexuality than actual femininity – like, I can see myself wild for a guy who wore this (I'm getting this scent on me, I guess, one way or another lol!)

All in all, this is a keeper. Just a beautiful touchstone when I feel myself getting overstimulated and panicky – Rebelle grabs me by the shoulders and says, "Hey! Pay attention to ME!" All day long she's just a wrist sniff away when I need her.

Yeah, this is for me. I don't think it's been discontinued, but if it has... thanks forever Rihanna! Never before would I have thought of something as fundamentally whimsical as perfume having such a grounding and practical purpose in my life. (Used to be, I kinda hated perfume!) If I do become a "scent person" – what's the accepted name for a perfume enthusiast? – it'll be because of you, Ri, and this heady potion. You really don't know the good you've done with this one.

Palmer Eldritch

Another edited review of mine. Yes, this does smell like a spicy bounty-bar, which is appealing! It was great at first, but when comparing to other perfumes I tried, for my personal taste this fell short.

After a while of testing, this starting smelling cheap & synthetic on my skin... really not what I was looking for. I can definitely see the similarities between the dry shampoo.

Definitely test before purchase folks.

Sweethymn

This reminds me of Sonia Rykiel 1997!!!! It's discontinued and I haven't worn it since early 2000's but OMG this reminds me of it with a lighter, fruitier vibe. Sonia Rykiel was my signature fragrance for a few years back in my "clubbing" days. It's a grown sexy warm spicy oriental and it makes me feel like a rock star.

uno

I'm searching for ideal coffee scent. This is my favorite one.Not too sweet, little spicy.I want just a little bit more coffee, but this is nice.
Rihanna fragrance has launched some good (not just sweet and plain as some of other celebrity fragrance) .I want some more dark, mossy, spicy ones.

astrakan

I just can't with this one. I blind bought it since I found it for cheap in a local store and had such high expectations. I love coffee, cacao, patchouli and everything and it sounded like heaven. But this is just not for me. I think might work for someone who loves Angel. The sort of sweetness paired with the patchouli is in a similar style to me, and for me it just smells a bit (sorry) dirty. Dirty as in dirty kind of patchouli. And the strawberry to me is just too icky sweet and artificial, which would be fine if it wasn't paired with that patchouli.

I gave my bottle away to someone who really liked it and used it all up. This just shows how differently we perceive scents, and I'm happy if it works for you. If you like me have a hard time with Angel, I think you should test before buying. Peace!

JustDana

Grabbed this from Burlington for a cool $15 for the little bottle....only because I wound up selling a ton of my perfume collection because I needed the money more, and in that tizzy I sold this amazing little gem from Zara called Blue Candy. I pretty actively despise patchouli, I smell it even in the smallest doses in every perfume it’s hidden in, ick. When I quickly checked it’s notes online before I bought it, it was described as being similar to the famous Angel by Mugler but WITHOUT the patch! I was sold! The Zara perfume was like $20 for a huge 100ml pretty sky blue bottle. I sprayed and wore it that night and it went from ehh to love over the next few weeks...it was one of those ones you don’t even really care to force yourself in like with because it was cheap anyway. I kept on reaching for it, you know how that goes if you truly love fragrances, it’s the ones that you swear you won’t ever like that your brain keeps picking for you, and next thing you know your so mad at yourself for selling it and now you just HAVE to replace it, it becomes your mission...except the one you sold for $30 is now discontinued and selling for $75 at the cheapest. So I looked at the similar scents here and said eh I’ll try the Rihanna, if I hate it oh well, it was only $15 (you see the pattern here yet?!). Ripped it open in the parking lot and sprayed in one of my masks (my favorite part of COVID!) and oh boy, it is a damn dead ringer for my beloved blue candy. It’s Angel without that dang hippie patch (sorry hippies)!

Malita6623

For me, it smells like rum and coke, then chocolate-Coffee, Its dark and sweet but not cloying, I loooove it!

Kathryn J.

I’m on my second one-ounce bottle of this. The large bottle, which would be more sensible, price-wise, is impossible to handle. I really dislike her “high heel” bottles. BUT, despite my grumpiness about the bottle, I really enjoy this inexpensive perfume. It makes me happy and I’m by no means a young woman. On me, it has some of the properties of Shalimar - powdery, sweet, sexy and long-lasting. I find it very wearable and it morphs over time. I’m so glad I own it!

Coffeeandroses

Smells like batiste dry shampo or similar to mugler angel dry down.

ems@twc

I completely get the Angel muse comparison only Rebelle doesn't have the same staying power or sillage.
coffee is the standout note but unfortunately it doesn't last long on me.
This would be an excellent choice for someone who wants to wear something that's light and not overpowering.

miaxvii

I’m super biased because I love Rihanna, but I know a good perfume when I smell one. This is such a complex fragrance blended perfectly and for such an affordable price. If you like Angel Muse, you will definitely like this. They smell almost the same except this one is a little softer and less harsh on your nose. A lot of people dislike the bottles or say it’s hard to spray from, but I love the bottle design (again, I’m biased). Definitely a fall or winter scent, smells nice and cozy when sprayed on a sweater :)

xx2901

Rebelle by Rihanna is a little more warmer and darker than most celebrity perfumes. From the first sniff it was like dark chocolate with strawberry filling or some fancy chocolate fondue by fireplace. It's strong on what it delivers: sexy, gourmand, bold.

vetiverberry

Rihanna apparently loves a couple of my favorite niche perfumes, so I thought I would give two of her perfumes a shot. This and Rogue, which I will be reviewing later.

Honestly, I have been searching for a perfume that I liked with a coffee note lately and this one fits the bill nicely. The coffee note that I detect reminds me of the coffee note in "Black Phantom" by Kilian, it's kind of nutty and green. If you have ever been in the room when someone is roasting fresh green coffee beans, that is the smell, rather than a full-bodied cup of joe or freshly pulled espresso.

This one is a lot more youthful and feminine, but it carries that same weight. As with most coffee fragrances that I have tried, I become anosmic to the coffee within the first hour of wear. That might just be the nature of coffee to me. I'm left with a patchouli/dark chocolate with a gentle underlying sweetness. This is sweet in the way that Angel by Mugler is, it's earthy and rich instead of dripping with sugar. If you don't like patchouli scents, I'd skip this because it is quite prominent. If you are like me and you dig patchouli based scents like Jimmy Choo EDP and Mugler's Angel, give it a shot! It is not like either of those perfumes, but it embodies a similar energy.

Longevity and projection are average to good. I only have a splash bottle of this one, so you might have better results with a spray. I'll definitely be repurchasing this when I'm done with the splash.

theperfumemaniac

Everyone either hates this or loves this. I love it, but everyone around me hated it. It smells grown up, and very thick.

It is a thick sweet gourmand. It features a very Smokey note that I assume it has to do with the cacao.

Try before buying, because it can get cloying

igalmusic

This is such a stunning, unique fragrance! In my opinion this is a best celebrity perfume. It's super inexpensive and very sexy. The opening it's very sharp because of ginger but it quickly fades and becomes this warm, delicious cacao, coffee and patchouli goodness. I can't really detect any strawberries or flowers.I love it too bits! Very good quality perfume

Rozalina

This perfume taught me a valuable lesson in patience. When I first received my bottle (ordered a 3 year old bottle from Mercari) I was confused. I told my sister- "all i smell is...earth?" the chocolate in this was like raw, dark cacao powder rather than anything remotely sweet or gourmand. I was disappointed. Still, I gave it a few more tries. Then I noticed that I kept wanting to smell this and have been spraying myself liberally with this scent. 3 days later, I'm finally getting the chocolate covered strawberry notes with ginger for some yummy zest and patchouli for longevity that other reviewers mentioned. No, I can't say that this is a sweet perfume but it's so delicious. I find this quite boozy even though there is no booze, but maybe that's the plum? Definitely give a perfume a few days to "settle" especially when ordering online! I don't think I will be reaching for this in the winter, because I find that it is absolutely delicious in the heat. If it's true that this is discontinued, I hope Rihanna will release something similar under Fenty. Rebelle is evidence that celebrity fragrances can be just as complex and lovely as the niche stuff.

Imalthia

Why was this discontinued? I'm so sad, this is gorgeous! Powdery, spicy, soft, sexy. Not too sweet. Definitely my favourite from the Reb'l Fleur line! I feel so feminine and sexy when I wear this. This is my certified femme fatale perfume, lol. If you like Gucci Guilty, you would probably like this too. They have a similar vibe but Rebelle is fruitier and less floral. I wish that the longevity was better, though :/

Jasmindee

Yikes! This was a cheap blind buy and one I definitely regret!

That opening is a stinker. Ginger, amber, super strong patchouli and a sharp fruity note makes this pretty unpleasant. However I persevered! I waited patiently for the strawberry to cut through the strong, intense opening, but it never came. I kept sniffing my wrists hoping for coffee and chocolate, but all I smelt was thick incense. I came out of the bathroom and my boyfriend turned his nose up and told me I smelt like an old woman....

I hate to admit it, but I actually agree with him. It smells old and spicy, maybe like a popular vintage perfume from the 80s. I did try to vibe with it but ultimately Rebelle was a scrubber for me...

Will be selling this on.

Seaworthy

I am adding to my Rihanna fragrances and I wanted to try Rebelle for the coffee note. It's hot today here, well it's over 80 degrees and I know to some that's not really hot but I digress, I get the sweetness of the plum and strawberry right away. Sweet and a little spicy from the ginger but I am not getting a lot of the ginger that others have noticed. Just nicely done. Next it's all about the chocolate and I don't get that bitter dark chocolate but to me the sweetness of the top notes makes the chocolate more like milk chocolate. I really smell a coconut note in here as well, which adds a creaminess, but what I am not picking up here at all, and I've been wearing this fragrance for a bit over an hour, is the coffee note that I really wanted to smell in this fragrance. Bummer. I will say that I really like Rebl Fleur, but I like Rebelle better! I will try it out in cooler weather as I have learned that can make a big difference. I have tried most of my fragrances in different weather conditions and some were extremely different in one type of weather than another. That's what keeps fragrances interesting to me.

12/31/20

Trying this out in the cold weather is an amazing and pleasant surprise! So chocolatey and yummy, still not smelling any coffee unfortunately. I want to mention how much Rebelle smells like Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense! VERY similar!

elshoobie

Take a bite of an artisanal chocolate dusted with cacao powder, filled with strawberry goop mixed with small ginger bits. Wash down with a sip of creamy coffee - and you have officially entered Rebelle. This is one of the best gourmands I’ve tried so far in my life. There is the tiny hint of patchouli which makes it Queen Latifah Lite, but not entirely the same. I’m contemplating getting a few back up bottles.

lisajmunro

I was gifted this as part of a set, but it would probably be something I'd have ended up blind-buying anyway because of the notes and the price. But even though I love a lot of the notes, I just don't love this.

The opening starts of a little sharp, I think because of the ginger, but then it dries down to a chocolatey/coffee smell. The chocolate is more of a bitter cacao/cocoa powder smell than sweet, sugary chocolate. I think you'd like this if you really like gourmands, but to me, it feels like it's missing something. The other fragrances with coffee notes that are my favourites (YSL Black Opium, Floral Street Ylang-Ylang Espresso, Lancome La Nuit Tresor) all have other notes that perhaps make them less "basic" to me, and I just find this a little boring.

The lasting power is really quite good for a celebrity perfume. I sprayed it on my skin and cardigan, and I could smell it on my skin for about 5 hours but I can still lightly smell it on my cardigan 9 hours later.

I would definitely recommend this if you like the scent - just because it's not my personal taste doesn't mean it's not a great fragrance!

girldeadbug

Omg.. gourmand lovers must try this.. Ignore all notes except for Coffee, Chocolate, and Strawberry, and you have Rebelle. Someone gave me a free decant and I literally bought a 1.7 oz for $14 shipped from eBay right after. It has a tiny floral note, I assume this was to make it more perfume-y, as a lot of celebrity scents want to be mass-appealing and perfume-like, as opposed to a pure gourmand fragrance that’s unwearable for some. So if I could tweak this, I’d take out any floral notes, but aside from that, I’m obsessed with this delicious scent. I blazed through my decant in 2 days.

star~kitty

I honestly feel like I am losing my mind with Rihanna’s perfumes. DISTURBIA

This has RAVE reviews. And I absolutely love a coffee scent! But I can’t get past the spicy blast. I used to mix this with any vanilla body spray or philosophy fresh cream to tone it down when I wore it to work.

I haven’t smelled it in over a year. Just opened it up and sprayed it in my sink so I didn’t have to commit. Smelled like a man’s scent - spicy. Sprayed it on my daughter’s wrist - she said it smelled like fruit and a mechanical pencil.

What the hell?? Did I get a weird bottle?

I could never make it work with Reb’l Fleur and I eventually discarded it.

I think I’m trying too hard with Rebelle.

Now, Nude?? I LOVE Nude! It doesn’t punch me in the face!

HeavenScent73

When celebrity perfumes are executed well, I don’t really care whose name is on the packaging. I am not the biggest Rihanna fan, but had read her frag reviews and was intrigued. I don’t believe you have to ‘like’ the celebrity to love their perfumes. I was looking for a summer ‘20 perfume and bought this very cheap online, just £12 for a 30ml. I wish I’d bought bigger, I am already a quarter of the way through after less than a week. I absolutely love this! it’s warm, sexy and the cacao and fruit make it delicious. However, lasting power is poor, this one needs constant respraying. I’ll probably get the 100ml now and keep this as a handbag size. A great find.

2.) Rebelle:

A surprise hit!
This is actually my most recent Rihanna perfume buy. I stayed away for a long time because I was unnerved by the strong spicy overtones it seems to have.
Thankfully, I went with my gut that I would end up enjoying the coffee notes - AND I DO, PEOPLE!

Look, that initial ginger is full-on, but there's a special kicker to it. That strawberry! Yes, it's wild. Yes, it's strong. But it's also cuts the slamming effect the ginger would otherwise have. Ginger and strawberry with slight plum? Surprisingly delicious.

It does settle into a strong, yet very pleasant milky coffee scent. Mmm! Truly gourmand.

Confession: I spray this perfume on my scarf before I go on my walks around the neighbourhood (it's autumn moving into winter here). I nuzzle into my scarf and breathe in this scent deeply...and day-dream with the cold air and warm, cozy, wafting smell.

Longevity and sillage also pretty great!

This is a confidence-booster!
Admittedly, a polarising scent; but deserves rich praise!

Kitty rating: 8.5/10.

Taliaferro1201

Got a little 15m bottle today of Rebelle and I'm on the fence about it. I smell lots of strawberry, patchouli, and maybe the cocoa?? I'm a newb to perfumes and distinguishing the different notes. The strawberry is definitely on the forefront. Its almost too much strawberry for my nose. All in all I think it's inoffensive, but I don't see myself reaching for this very often.

Edit. I'm about 7 and hours in and omg the lasting power is crazy on this. But unfortunately I still don't like the smell. The strawberry is gone for the most part. Now it's like a cocoa powder incense. Not for me.

usermariah

This was my signature scent until very recently. I remember buying it when I got my first job and decided I needed a “grown up scent” haha. I took myself to Macy’s and smelled tons of perfumes and this was my favorite! Looking back I find it funny that even when I was smelling some fairly pricey and fancy perfumes I decided the celebrity fragrance was the one for me. I was obsessed with anything that had a masculine feel and this one had that but was also very dark and sexy. No one I knew smelled like Rebelle.
I absolutely understand the comparisons to Angel Muse (which is one of my favorites), but I would say the patchouli is Muse is a lot stronger and doesn’t have the creaminess of Rebelle.
This was the fragrance of my 20’s...It got me a LOT of attention through bar hopping and clubbing, first dates and gave me so much confidence since I always the quietest person in the room. I will always own and love this fragrance.
While it may not seem like the most unique thing on the market now, it was absolutely a standout in 2012. Heck, I think it still rivals similar fragrances today.

GGLiCious

Sexy, alluring, a lil'bit intimate & sensual. Quite spicy & the coffee-patchouli are the prominent note on my skin + the sweet-creamy chocolate+vanilla are there at the back/second seat row. Imo Rebelle is the best in this 'heel' shape bottle line.

A Reflection of the Heart

I love this fragrance on its own as well as layered. Dicovered my favorite combo when I wanted to see what would happen if I amplifed the strawberry note. Over-spritzed Mon Paris. OMGoodness. So beautiful. Deepens, warms up, and rounds out the YSL. Lifts up and lightens the Rihanna. I have been thinking of Rebelle as strictly an all/winter frag but a light spritz of each of these creates a combo that can ease into spring, pick up again in late summer/pre-fall, and be enjoyed as part of the winter rotation. I plan to try it with my other strawberry perfumes too.

Science&Scents

Yes, that opening is off-putting. The dry down is, indeed, delicious.

I can definitely pick up the coffee in this (which was why I sought it out). The notes as a whole are kind of a cacophony. The strawberry comes off as synthetic and confusing in this note lineup. That said, I don't dislike it. I'll definitely reach for this during fall and winter. It's cosy, sweet and overall, gourmand.

I wouldn't call this a safe blind buy but the price tag made it worth the gamble for me. All in all, a keeper. The jury is out for repurchase though.

JoannaGR

Not my cup of tea. It starts off very nicely. Sweet and kind of fruity, with a seductive yet "fresh" element. Cocoa and coffee are dominant and I get no strawberry or ginger, just a general fruity note. That lasts about 1/2 an hour. Then it morphs into an unpleasant and cheap generic mess on my skin, almost masculine -in a bad way- and too heavy.

I think it's the patchouli that ruins everything for me and I probably hate it (even though I don't know how it actually smells), because most perfumes I dislike include patchouli. Glad I only bought a sample.

876Beauty

On opening you are hit with a strong blat of ginger, the dry down is creamy, sweet and chocolatey with a hint of strawberry. You can still smell the ginger but not as strong as in the opening, just enough to add a little spiciness. This is a love for me, wished I bought the larger bottle!

Lavandermilk

I blind bought this because the notes were right and so was the price. I am not disappointed. It is warm, spicy, and sweet like I had hoped. Iv seen this compared to alot of other scents in the reviews below but to me the first thing that came to mind after spraying was muglers angel muse.

Initially to me i get the spice and the musk. The dry down becomes sweeter and I think the chocolate and strawberry shine a little more.

This is definitely a more winter scent, I think it might be a little cloying in the warmer months but if sweet scents are your thing id go for it. Even though I dont opt for sweeter scents on the daily, I wont hesitate to wear this when I want anytime of year.

This is something id wear on a night out with my girlfriends or on a date.

KrystalPower83

Anyone else get Pink Sugar by Aquolina when they smell this? To me they are incredibly similar!

goldiloks

Has this been discontinued, because eBay prices are going from reasonable to silly??
Wonderful fragrance. Reminds me of my beloved Queen Latifah Queen, though not as earthy, the same warm yummy gourmand (but not too gourmand) feel. Celeb fragrances do get a bad rap, but there are a few gems out there that are worth trying, and this is one of them. Unfortunately, I have to prepare myself for the nauseous/dizzy feeling I get after wearing this for 30 mins or so. I have some weird sensitivities, lol. But still a lovely cheapie!

wanderingaroundthegarden

I love this. To me it smells like black opium in it's initial stage before black opium goes into turbodrive. Ginger, coffee, some floral, a touch of patchouli.

Rangel7

Blind buy. Rebelle surprised me in a very good way. It's not your celebrity fragrance next door, it's sexy and interesting. If you're looking for cotton candy-sweetness, this is not your perfume.
At first spray it was awful! I thought it was going to be a scrubber, but as soon as it settled, it smelled amazing. I get spicy chocolate, sweet strawberries and a hint of coffee and flowers.
The dry down is cozy, with the spiciness shining through. It lasts about 4 hours on my skin, though the last couple of hours it turns into a skin scent.
I think it's a great inexpensive scent for cold weather and can be worn by ladies of all ages.

Cess268

This is a nice fragrance. I don't get much coffee but I do smell the chocolate notes especially in the dry down. Strawberry is done perfect not overpowering. I love how ths scent sticks to the skin, and is not cloying at all. I have a small bottle I am purchasing bigger bottle in the fall. Love this.

Update 10/19/21: Another celebrity scent done right! This has quickly become one of my top 5 fragrance for Fall/Winter months. I have nothing that smells like it in my collection. It is a perfect all day, every day casual scent. The patchouli in this is done right, just to ground the fragrance, and for lasting power, (which I find spectacular 😁). On skin I get 10+ hrs on clothing this baby lasts until I wash the garment. I am on my 4rd bottle & I own the matching body mist. I hope they don't discontinue or reformulate this.

Satinne

Ok, so i bought by a blind buy 3 fragrances from Rihanna today. This is one of them. (Nude, crush, rebelle)

And OMG this is WOW. Definitely one of my favorites from now on. I get strawberry, cocoa, coffee and coconut although it coconut is not one of the notes. Its sexy, mysterious and sweet. I dont think this is for everyone, but my God, I love it. Its like you are having a late with strawberries and cream :D Creamy smooth. Quite hard to explain.

This reminds me of Crystal Noir when it calms down, but its a lot sweeter because of the strawberry. Also reminds me Oriflame Love potion. Great staying power too.

Kathryn J.

Don’t be turned off by the initial blast. It quickly morphs into a lovely, sexy, soft gourmand scent. If it’s coffee, it’s a flavored coffee for sure. It reminds me of another fragrance I love - “Queen of Hearts,” by QueenLatifah, which is discontinued now. That has a touch of ginger, as “Rebelle” does. This was a blind buy and I’m so glad I took a chance. This smells more expensive than it is. Very alluring and feminine. Recommended!

amayabluelove

When I first tried it, I felt a little nauseous and was too strong for me . I was going to let it go. But after 30 minutes it was absolutely amazing and just 2 sprays worked for me for 4 hrs

PerfumeKing14

I’ve been using this since it came out & i’m never without a bottle. I really love this scent more than any other of Rihanna’s. the lasting power is moderate but could be better but matched with the lotion helps keep the scent going longer. It feels warm to me so I tend to wear this daily during autumn & winter & I get quite a lot of compliments on it so it can be smelt by others which is nice. It’s a bit earthy, a bit warm, slightly fruit & it’s just gorgeous to me. I don’t have anything else that smells like this so it’s a stand out in my collection & I’ll continue to use this for years to come.

JustSimpleThings

A very interesting scent - as somebody said already, it feels like a tamer version of Angel - which I appreciate because while I recognise the beauty of Angel, it is too strong a scent for me.

I get intense chocolate and coffee notes - they intermingle and create this 'dark chocolate' vibe which I love!

I am yet to find the strawberry note, but I was smelling lots of things before I tried this one in the store, so it is probably my fault.

PerfumeJunkie2b

On me, I get a "dirty" (like wet soil from the patchouli, lol), boozy coffee & semisweet chocolate fragrance and I really like it! I was a bit afraid of trying another Rihanna fragrance since Reb'l Fleur was a fail for me (tuberose and I DO NOT get along, lol); however, this was a pleasant surprise! I do find this to be bit patchouli heavy so you may wanna pass on it if you don't like patchouli. Longevity & sillage are both moderate on me.

sibaraa

There is a hidden note that ruins this one for me as well, however it's more intense in the rebel fleur. Something like a musty drawer. Too bad as i can smell the pretty strawberries and coffee. but all buried under that strong note..

mmagic_conch

Absolutely love it. I just wish it would last longer. Doesn’t seem to last as long on me as everyone else says. I have layered it with Choco musk and it was so delicious, but not long after it was just the Choco musk left.

floydwellian

I did a blind buy of a Rebelle .5 oz and I don't regret it. This fragrance keeps me interested from beginning till end. I love that the gourmand-ness of it is cut with darker, smokey notes and that it doesn't come off powdery on my skin. Powdery usually equals sneezy to me. I don't really mind the crazy bottle. It's different. Not what you'd call classy but fun and not uptight. I went ahead and purchased a 1 oz. bottle too since I really like it for day, night and for bedtime. The price and the scent is right for me. I think it's smelling even better now that the temperature outdoors has dropped some, so looking forward to Rebelle in autumn.

KathieA

Chocolate covered strawberries and a cup of hot coffee with a little bit of spice. Excellent longevity, drys down to a delicious skin scent after several hours. I know it's best for cool weather but it's 90+ here in Florida and I've been wearing it. It's all about dosing depending on the weather and not going crazy with the sprays.

6 months ago when I thought I was just a fruity floral girl, I would have hated this. Now that my tastes are expanding and I'm learning more about fragrance, I love it.

hazygem

This is fantastic. I haven’t come across a cacao scent as good as this since yves rocher neonatura cocoon. Rebelle reminds me quite a bit of Cocoon, though it could be my memory playing tricks on me, as I haven’t smelled the latter in over a decade.

I wish Rebelle lasted a little longer on me, but that’s only a minor complaint. Its longevity is about average. I’m so pleased to find a lovely cocoa frag that isn’t sugary. This is a grown up gourmand.

Edit: this has really bad staying power on me, which is annoying but it’s lovely, and the price is cheap. I just ordered a 3.4 after going thru almost an entire 15ml mini in 3 days! Yikes!

tyrachai

Rebelle is not bad. I'm usually turned off by scents with coffee and cacao notes because they usually are just so bitter to my nose and body chemistry so I will probably regift this or maybe layer it with something else. Decent longevity and mid sillage. Unique yet simple gourmand scent but not something I see myself wearing. Sweet, and a little spicy!!!! The strawberry is surprisingly fabulous.

coconatt

Not everybody will like the scent of Rebelle but I do because it has a lot of "body". Rebelle reminds me so much of JPG's Scandal. Don't just take my word for it though - do a sniff test for both Rebelle and Scandal yourself, you'd be surprised!

SweetRoses

Delicious! This perfume smells like a dessert made of coffè, chocolate, covered with strawberry icing, the cake is warm and soft, there is sweet liquor and spices in the recepy, that makes it even more mouth watering.
The desset is steaming, the first aroma is the strayberry syrupy cream on top, then comes the cake with all the good ingredients.
It's not long lasting, i need to try it on clothes.

Phantomias

A sweet gourmand with dusty notes of cocoa and a hint of artificial strawberry, R. is anything but rebellious. While it's not as awful as some other celeb frags it's just not that good. Sweet chocolate and fruit notes have been done to death, and I've never had the urge to smell like a dessert. Like others have noted, the bottle is very tacky. Not retro tacky, just cheap plastic tacky. Shame on you, Riri!
Brief edit: longevity and sillage are sub par, the fragrance becomes a skin scent almost immediately.

Beth1218

Wonderful fragrance. It’s a true gourmand. But, it doesn’t have the cotton candy, girlie, pink vibe. It’s more of a rich, warm, sensual type of sweet. I love the cocoa and coffee notes.

JenSin

A nice soft hot mocha w/ a touch of strawberry. I love wearing this to bed in the fall and winter. Very comforting.

lily000

The type of fragrance that many hate but smells amazing on few. First spray can be deceiving, but this scent will linger on clothes, sheets, hair, everything!!! To me its a cosy, warm scent, and my favourite perfume to date. Only annoyance is that its discontinued (can still be found at discount pharmacies) and I think the bottle is a bit tacky.

JacquieDS

After a blast of heavy Prada Iris this morn, I needed a dose of something fun.
I just bought Rebelle which has been on my want list for a long time. I like it even more than Reb L’fleur
I like the ginger coffee musky notes and it’s subtle. It’s comforting. Nothing flashy or expensive smelling and low sillage on me but it’s sweet and easy to wear and I am very happy to have this.

Update
After wearing it for a week, I really love it. It’s my one of my best budget gourmand. It’s soft in silage but like a creamy latte and unique. I can wear this everyday without getting sick of it. Is it true that this is being discontinued? I must get a backup. I almost never do backup but this is good and I do need like 6 sprays at a time.

Am I the only one who smells smoke in this? After yet another blind buy I was impatient to smell the perfume before my bottle actually arrived so I popped into boots and I spayed a tester of it on my wrist. I almost recoiled when I sniffed it. I smelled like I had been sitting in a car for half an hour with a chain smoker and then sprayed some perfume to mask the smell!! After about 30 minutes the smoke died down to reveal a beautiful cinnamon spicy scent which really was lovely. But the smoky opening turned my stomach so much I had to give the bottle away.

mjhazard23

I found a bottle of the Rebelle room spray in TJX clearance for $3. I sprayed it in the store and it was an instant love. It reminded of something in my collection and was blown away when I realized it was Black Phantom. Of course side by side not even close. The fragrance is chocolate covered strawberries. Unisex 100%. Best celeb fragrance so far 9/10.

nikki.toscani

This is amazing and it's hard to believe that this is so cheap! A great coffee scent but not too sweet. A very cosy smell. Lasting power is great and I always get lots of compliments when I wear this!

lindley

Weird and beautiful. Smells a bit like the bottom of the plastic container I eject my coffee grounds into, but perfumey, if that makes sense. Inedible bitter patch to counter the gourmand notes and really not very sweet.

I don't know what I expected of a Rihanna perfume, but this wasn't it. Love at first smell, and lasts well.

This scent deserves a simple, elegant bottle and evocative name, and no one would question it on the niche shelves instead of the celebscents. I regret all the years I passed by the tacky packaging and didn't give it a go.

RachaelHanna

Intense, daring, and different. Rebelle is my third favorite Rihanna fragrance. It starts off smelling like a super fruity (almost like fruity pebbles!) teen fragrance, but magically transforms into a complex, spicy, hint-of-sweet, powdery delight. I would rate Rebelle 9/10.

Jacquis

Cacao, coffee and patchouli goodness. Blends well with my skin. Barely sweet. This is a great perfume for days when I just want to smell intoxicating without florals. For a minute I thought I smelled coconut in the opening. Great longevity and sillage. Works well up to 80 degrees for me. I'll try this in summer heat as well. It's a unique one.

tinkerbellkissy

My signature scent. I can’t believe they have cancelled the production. I literally cried over this. There’s no better in this world and will not be better. I wrote to COTY about this fragrance and Play it Rock. Why do they always have to cancel production of the best scents?! It’s sexy, hot, feminine, sweet, warm.
My friends has told me “I have to show you what a beautiful scent I’ve found, you won’t believe” and it was in 2013 and from that moment I don’t imagine a world without this fragrance. I’m 20 now. I have no idea what to do.

emilycmitchem

This smells very 'dirty.' And is addictive.

It's dark, sweet cocoa, coffee grounds, fresh spices, and strawberry syrup.

Not my favorite perfume, but a strong like. I can't imagine anyone saying that this perfume isn't unique and doesn't deserve appreciation. I save this for both super cold winter days spent cozying up on the couch, and for those high heel, red dress and lipstick occasions. Sexy and comforting.

Highly recommend at least trying it!

asfaltsflickan

I should like this, I love sweet scents and I like pretty much all the notes in the description. I've tried to like it, but I just can't, it doesn't agree with my skin at all. On me, it turns sickly sweet and almost kind of rotten, like overripe fruit stewing in a garbage bag on a hot day. I've had to scrub it on a couple of occasions because it was making me feel nauseous.

If someone wants a 100ml bottle (without the box) I'll be happy to send it off for the cost of shipping (which could be a bit pricey since I'm in Sweden).

jreyes366

Unfortunately, I have to be honest about this perfume. I really strongly dislike it. I'm so incredibly sad that I don't like it because all of the notes except for a few really speak to me.

I love coffee and cacao in fragrance, it's dark and mysterious and sexy. I thought for sure this would be an instant love but no...

The ginger in this really ruins it for me, it adds a lack of a better word 'pus like quality' that really makes me feel nauseous. I'm probably the only person on earth who feels that way, so I don't expect anyone to understand what I'm smelling.

I also feel that the plum in this is super synthetic to the point of being a hint metallic (which I usually dislike).

I wish I could smell what you all smell instead of a perfume that makes me sick to my stomach.

mysticat5i2

I really really want to like this perfume and I can't. It may be my chemistry but for some reason I need to look up the notes Everytime I wear it because u can't figure out the scent. All I smell is cedar. I hate cedar in perfumes.

Soofiya

I've already reviewed Rebelle but I believe it's the right time to write another one as I'm ready to change the "like" bottom to "love"
I have tried numerous fragrances with cacao, coffee notes;from cheap body sprays to superexpensive niche ones and Rebelle can beat most of them.it's truely unique and memorable and a must try for gourmand lovers
I can see that it develops very different on different people,on me it opens with a syntethic mish mash, like a cheap and chemical fruitchouli but in two minutes it settles down to tones of strawberry dipped in melted spicy chocolate.drydown is softer, slightly powdery and not fruity anymore.yummy but not so sweet.like a blend of cacao powder, coffee, vanilla and musk.
we're in the middle of a very cold autumn here and Rebelle feels awesome in these cold evenings.I'm on a ketodiet and Rebelle feels like a perfume version of a keto-friendly chocolate-strawberry latte.I like all six Rihanna perfumes I have right now and Rebelle is one of the most favorite ones
BTW I believe a gourmand lover man can easily wear it
I also believe that It's not a safe blindbuy like most unique perfumes it can be love/hate for a lot of people

Spicy and bittersweet. My husband asked me to wear a sexy perfume recently and I told him to choose one from my collection. He handed me this one without any doubt after smelling it.

damienthoresson

One of those that are cheap enough to overspray. I do, but you probably needn't actually do it. It lasts upwards over 13 hours. Even without the body lotion that can make it smell a bit nasty.

A big cacao and strawberry scent. The patchouli is super strong in the dry down.

stephanieklein

Maybe because it was beside a bunch of other celeb fragrances, and maybe because my nose was on overload having sniffed so many test strips, but this was unremarkable. I thought it would be deeper, stronger. It felt shallow and muted. Nothing I HAD to have.

angiec777

I've said it before and I'll say it again--I don't know how such a classy, unique, and complex fragrance can come in such a chintzy bottle. The red paint on this clunky bottle is chipping off and the gerish red cap just reminds me of a woman way past her prime dressing too sexy, but this ugly little thing sits on my shelf alongside my elegant bottles of Dior, Lancôme, and Michael Kors because it's what's inside that counts and what's inside is warm, spicy, sexy, comforting, cozy, and intoxicating.

stacia79

Rihanna Rebelle was a very pleasant surprise for me. I went in with low expectations because it was a celebrity scent that I found cheap as chips at a discounter. It ended up being one of my nicest buys this year. I don't get much strawberry note at all, maybe just a tiny bit to sweeten the deal, and not a realistic strawberry, more of a strawberry lip balm scent. What Rebelle is for me is a chocolate and coffee perfume. It's warm and rich and cozy. I ended up buying the shower gel too. This meshes very well with warm skin, creating a sweater of fragrance. I could see this being a good purchase for a young lady on a budget who likes the sweet perfume trend but finds things like Pink Sugar too saccharine and La Vie Est Belle too heady. Rebelle is sweet but it's got just enough of a bitter edge from the coffee to say "Hey I'm sugar AND spice. Don't forget the spice part!" This makes me feel kinda sassy and coy. A perfect cold weather weekend type fragrance. Mmmm makes me want some Starbucks.

Minted

I can't differentiate the individual notes but I Iove the way it smells, warm spice and sweet. It has good longevity on me for around 6-7 hours and sillage seems to be far as my partner can smell when I have it on from the other side of the car. A very sexy scent for any time (in my opinion)

JesperBlacxxi

I like this. All I get from it is strawberry with a little bit of cocoa? I think. But mostly creamy strawberry. It’s peasant, but not amazing to me.

cocofluff

I smell so nice when I wear this perfume. I love it! It makes me feel so special. It's light yet noticeable. I can't distinguish the individual notes but Iove the way it smells. Delightful. ^^ I used up my small bottle in less than a year. -

al820129

The second perfume represents her dark demonic side. That's how smells Riri singing b**ch better give my money.

It's only winter perfume in my opinion. Rebelle hits with very thick, tobacco, dark chocolate and coffee smoke, maybe you will be lucky to feel strawberry too but it's not always present. Add patchouli to this picture and you get all the underground. I wouldn't say it's sweet. This is spicy warm oriental scent.

It lasts all day, the comments are diverse from "omg this is divine!!!!" till "eww what's that?"

I love this. Got it on resale on Facebook for 20 CAD for a full size bottle. Win.

It is very smoky and almost masculine. I can smell coffee and chocolate. Very sexy. This is a sex bomb fragrance to me and definitely inappropriate for daytime and work environment. I tried it in the heat and it's overbearing. I am waiting for a crisp end of Summer night to wear this. Beautifulllll.

annasarahr121

Notes on Rebelle's drydown:
Dry, smoky, light vanilla incense. Really nice scent!

annasarahr121

Really nice surprise! Not at all the juicy-delicious fruitchouli that is Reb'l Fleur (which reminds me a bit of a much less complex version of Chanel's Coco Noir). Rebelle reminds me most of all of Bulgari Black (unfortunately discontinued) but easier on the nose because Black's unusual hot rubber scent is swapped out for a soft, powdery cacao & coffee. I'm not sure if the sweetness I smell is the plum or strawberry (maybe it's the strawberry...), and there's just a hint of flowery heliotrope, just like Bulgari Black has a muted floral note in the background. Rebelle is a really nice, somewhat subtle, almost-skin-scent on me, not at all what I expected.

AdrianaCatLover

Smells like spicy sweet lipstick. It's sexy and I love it
It's different from most gourmands and uniquely beautiful. The notes that really stand out on my skin are strawberry, patchouli and chocolate.

glitterfalls84

Got burned again! I did the same thing with Jessica Simpson's Fancy perfume. I'm looking over the notes and thinking "How can I NOT like this perfume when there's so many notes that I think would smell terrific and blend well with each other. Fancy didn't turn out so well for me and Rebelle didn't either.

All I can pick up is a plastic smell mixed in with a strawberry scent. And it's not a very pleasant strawberry smell either. And it's not a case of the scent going through a 'transfer' through drydown either.

However, I think I've managed to save this perfume so I can actually use it. This pairs very nicely with Avon's Ultra Sexy Heart perfume. That particular perfume was another one that I wasn't crazy about because of that screechy opening that made me want to scrub it off. Anyway, I had on the Rebelle perfume and spritzed some of the Ultra Sexy Heart on top. Thankfully it's blended into something quite lovely.

I hate I'm so down on Rebelle and feel like I should give a couple of genuine compliments, even though I certainly can't praise the perfume by itself. The bottle is very lovely. I don't really have a hard time spraying it. I believe I saw other reviewers saying they had a hard time with holding it and spraying it because of its shape. And I must compliment the lovely box it came in. It truly has a gorgeous picture of Rihanna on the back.

In closing, sincerely doubt I'll buy another bottle of Rebelle since I'm having to blend it with something else for me to enjoy it. This was my first Rihanna perfume so I'm not sure if I'd like to try any of the other fragrances she has out. This review is just my taste, my opinion. It's always safe to try out any perfume before blindly buying it. There's so many that genuinely love this perfume and that might apply towards anybody else that's never tried this perfume. But there's going to be people that will take a sniff from using a tester and be glad they didn't purchase it because it wasn't their thing.

I was recently at a street food market in Copenhagen talking to a woman there. She smelled so sexy it was distracting me. I had to stop mid sentence and ask her what she was wearing. She couldn't remember only that the bottle was gold and red. I kept thinking it smelled familiar, I knew I had smelled it before, but on her it was this gorgeous soft, spicy, slightly sweet, slightly masculine lipstick scent with a rich warmth to it. Probably one of the sexiest scents I've smelled on a woman. I got her contact information and insisted she send me a picture of the bottle. This morning she did and it was Rebelle!! Of course it was! I don't know how I didn't recognize it at the time.

I will now forever associate this scent with a beautiful and unseasonably warm May evening in Copenhagen at the street food market and my fun and fragrant new friend who I ended up splitting tacos and a bottle of wine with.

I USE THIS SCENT... AND I AM A GUY :)

aulialovegreen

100% chill weather fragrance. It's really spicy that the first minute all i can smell is ginger and patchouli. Then the cacao and coffee appear gives it some sweetness. No strawberry or floral, the dry down that i get on my skin is chocolate, coffee, patchouli with (still) hint of ginger.

samantham-123

So after reading people say that the red paint comes off after a while, i just grabbed a knife and scraped all of it off. Its now just got a golden ribbon around it. Much more aesthetically pleasing lol.
