This is the EDP. Fragrantica doesn’t list the Parfum version. The essence is way too watered down and it’s still $300. Crazy. If you like ylang ylang, don’t waste your time with the essence, pay the money and get the EDP or even better, the Parfum. I’m returning my 51 essence and getting the Parfum version. Also, if you buy a tester, they don’t have the caps and that really sucks because the caps are such a statement. The bottles of the essence are super beautiful but not without a cap! Ugh, I hate when they show a bottle with the cap when you’re buying a tester and it shows up cap less. Back you go..I’m looking forward to the Parfum as the scent is beautiful but I need more of the scent oil to get scent payoff I’m after.

aspirina

This is a sultry floral scent that is very well mixed, I can't find any note being particularly strong. It is an array of yellow and white florals that smells rich and expensive. Not necessarily sexy...it smells like a female boss in her 40's to 50s...very well dressed, strong minded, probably divorced. She has money and can pay Roja prices....she could be sexy but for some reason avoids it...
I will use my sample but won't buy a full bottle. It is too stiff for my taste.

zawwarahmad

remember expensive doesn't mean wearable always.... a common theme for roja fragrances....well at least for me.
top notes: yellow and white floral, powdery, febreeze like air freshener smell
middle notes: masculine (cologne), woody (like sandalwood), white floral, smokey
base notes: yellow floral, stinky, powdery, woody, warm

Performance held up really well here. Definitely niche but I cant wear this or have any occasion for this. Definitely an experience with this one, like all Rojas. Wouldnt buy it to wear it though. 7/10.

Roja Dove's 51 is a fragrance that unfolds like a symphony of notes, each contributing to a harmonious and luxurious olfactory experience.

The opening notes of bergamot set the stage with a bright and refreshing introduction. This citrusy burst immediately captures attention and prepares the senses for the journey ahead.

As the fragrance progresses to the heart, a rich and opulent floral blend emerges. Ylang-ylang, raspberry, gardenia, tuberose, rose, jasmine, orange blossom, and lily-of-the-valley intertwine in a captivating dance. The floral bouquet is both intricate and beautifully orchestrated, creating a sensorial masterpiece.

The base notes of 51 leave a lasting and indulgent impression. Vanilla brings a sweet and creamy warmth, while cashmere wood, sandalwood, benzoin, violet leaf, orris root, cinnamon, anise, patchouli, and cloves add depth and complexity. The combination of these elements results in a rich and sensual foundation that lingers on the skin.

What sets 51 apart is its ability to balance freshness, florals, and warmth seamlessly. The fragrance evolves gracefully, revealing different facets with each passing moment. Its luxurious and sophisticated character makes it a standout choice for those seeking an olfactory journey that is both opulent and memorable. Roja Dove's 51 is a true masterpiece in the world of perfumery, a symphony of scents that leaves an indelible mark.

i find this similar to elixir (roja dna is quite discernible) but better in every way; so juicy, sweet, yet classy. it's powdery in a way that my nose can actually stand and even appreciate. i wouldn't call this mature at all to be honest. strong like but i think the soft, fluffy, fruity floral scents from roja (and in general) so far just don't suit my style, as much as i can appreciate and enjoy them for what they are.

baibyy

I am selling this perfume (95/100ml) with full presentation for €400 + shipping from Croatia (Europe). (usual price iz over €700).

Jmalone84

Not tried the original but ordered an oil from a perfume oil expressions company (they make clone oils).
Smells absolutely delectable, strongly floral but it wafts these vanillic and balsamic puffs of air around that just smell so good. I kind of agree that a little maturity is needed for the perfume, while it’s sweet it’s not juvenile. But very feminine and very pretty. I can see a man going crazy over this smell.

othai

This is for an older classy woman. Could work for a younger lady too if she has the maturity. Its strange because I believe people can wear whatever they want, but with this I imagine a woman 30+ who has her life together, business oriented, and a Boss in her own right. It’s elevated for sure.

Sheherazad

Warm, buttery, musky, ambery, moody, slightly exotic. The florals peek in ever so slightly in dry down, then dip in & out intermittently throughout the evolution. Multi-faceted, lovely layering, evolves beautifully, mysteriously. But the real mystery is why I crave fresh baked cookies every time I wear this...

MizzDottie

Wow this one is a winner! Soft sweet bouquet in a bottle! Very soft and feminine. My skin soaks it in beautifully. Every time I get a whiff of it, I just smile! Just call me happy!

Fluffyandpuffy

Classy, classic, giving me Co Co Chanel perfume vibes.

KELIZ

It must be my body chemistry - I can’t smell anything beyond a very faint pleasantness even after a heavy dose

51 is a dangerous scent because it seduces you with a plethora of sensations, but it holds something back from the wearer in its performance. I'm not an expert in Roja fragrances, but have tried enough to know that he masterfully blends quality ingredients to just enough smoothness without removing the opportunity to discern individual notes--which reveal themselves as shimmering facets instead of distinct head, heart, and trail accords. His fragrances always remind me of something else but with a modernized, luxe feel. 51, for example, has the sunny fruitiness of vintage Dior Dolce Vita, but without the dated dustiness. The florals in 51 have the buttery and solar feel of 80's American power florals like Giorgio Beverly Hills, yet still feels contemporary. Like other Roja fragrances I've tried, 51 pour Femme is also well-balanced. Resins add a smokiness and depth that keep the bright florals from becoming too sweet or cloying. 51 is anything you want it to be--but on its own terms. I get about 6 hours of longevity, so it's hard for me to justify owning a bottle. If you can afford the price, good for you. I'm hoping that Micallef Ylang Nectar will scratch my yellow florals itch.

Elle's Bells

One of the prettiest fragrances I've ever smelled on me. The vanilla in the dry down is everything. I've never smelled so many florals that are so masterfully blended like this in all my life. I've been using the travel size, but I just can't take it anymore. I have to have a FB in my collection immediately. To hell with the abysmal longevity!

La Place Rouge

Roja's own tender Enigma inspired by Trésor Lancome. I like it very much indeed, though neither Enigma nor Trésor is not my cup of tea.

firstmate423

This is beautiful and so classy. Perfect for any occasion or season. To me, it’s like a soft, buttery floral scent.

MarchAZ

Okay, this is pretty and very feminine, like a sweet, fluffy and innocent cloud. If this is what you’re after, this is for you!
I need something with a bit of a kick and this is not it, I find it rather linear and too ‘skinny’, it’s like it needs a hamburger 😅

Mizi

It’s lovely and warm. Doesn’t last long, maybe 4h and stays close on skin. I can pick out something peppery from this well blended smooth fragrance, but no peppery note listed…Vanilla, Ylang, Orris, Yasmine and more. On my skin it’s deep straight away, very little raspberry and bergamot, I wish there was more though. Grown up, inoffensive, likeable and expensive scent. ((Tried both Essence and Parfum. The first one is very fleeting and the blend turns a bit sour on my skin after 2 hours, parfum on the other hand sits beautifully all the way, although for not as long as I would like.))
Edit: Still faintly on my skin after 8h..
Ps (It smells similarly to MMicallef Ylang in Gold, but 51 is softer)

What can I say? She has always been quite the quiet one in the family. Roja 51 is sophisticated, refined, loves the city life especially the night time. You wouldn’t think it as her personality contradicts norms associated with City Night Life. However, 51 refuses to be boxed in.

BACK STORY: I owned the EDP version and couldn’t NOT SMELL IT! Not even a LITTLE bit! So, I let her go!!
SUBSEQUENTLY, I was asked by many if I had tried the Parfum vs the EDP. They said: “Ohhh… you had the EDP? Girl try the Parfum, it’ll last four days. That’s much stronger and you’ll definitely smell that!”

So I gave ROJA 51 ANOTHER chance, oh yes… I did! I can definitely smell Roja 51 Parfum, but it’s still very, very light projection on my skin. On my clothing I get better performance. This is very prettily blended. Docile yet chic. The fruits & flowers are first to appear, but the amber andCashmere wood makes this a well rounded fragrance. Classy with subtle seductive qualities, but definitively “NOT SEXY BY ANY STRETCH or FIGMENT of MY IMAGINATION!!”
**THE ULTIMATE JEWEL 💎Thief! **
If Roja 51 Parfums was to commit a crime, I could not sniff her out of a police line up.🤷🏾♀️. Simply because her compositions while Beautiful and Bougie, is not too distinct to set her apart in the overly saturated perfume realm.

BLUF: ROJA 51 Parfums pour Femme is for the person who wants to smell great, but prefers to be discreet about it.👸🏾

First impression: I smell a mix of white flowers with an ambry dry down... Nice and discrete. Gentle and refined. It does not have the screeching chemical smell I sometimes find in other niche perfumes, such as Parfums de Marley...

On the other hand, agree with Lexingtongue below, the perfume is nice but not necessarily spectacular, as Diptyque's Do Son which hits you with a heady cloudy of tuberose and ylang, which, is how I imagine a white floral should be done. I am opinionated of course ;)

*loves_shoes*

Edit: I just realised that this is the page for the parfum/extrait. I don’t have that version, but I’ll leave my review here just for info!

I have both the essence de parfum (in the discovery set purchased directly from Roja) and the eau de parfum (50ml bottle with the all gold cap purchased from Harrods).
To me, these smell the way you imagine perfume *should* smell. Traditional, expensive, nothing offensive, like the waft you remember as a child when an expensive looking lady walked past, or the scent lingering when you had to hug a rich relative you didn’t know well. Something elusive that you searched for but never could quite find. The true scent of expensive perfume. Very smooth and balanced and well put together.
But then I love amber scents!
To me this is a well rounded floral amber perfume. Not too young as it’s not too sweet. But doesn’t smell like an old woman scent to me.
The initial scent (bergamot?) of both is a bit sharp for me, and not a fragrance I enjoy, luckily this disappears within 5 mins. It gets better as you wear it and the base notes come through.
I think the edp is stronger than the essence. The essence fades more quickly on me, turning into a lovely warm, slightly spicy ylang-vanilla patchouli fragrance, that is a bit softer and sweeter than the dry down of the edp. The edp stays a bit sharper for longer; still a lovely smooth amber fragrance, but projecting the white florals, rose and raspberry for a bit longer than the essence on me. The essence is somehow softer, the edp shouts more.
Overall a lovely amber perfume that is definitely full bottle worthy, but for longevity I’d buy the edp.

Lexingtongue

Bought in the sale from Harrods for £100. While the ingredients are no doubt high quality I'd not have been very happy to have paid full price for this. Longevity is lacking and the smell, while nice, isn't anything I haven't smelled before for much less. I guess there's a reason why this regularly pops up for sale almost full on the Facebook fragrance groups.

ingeneuxo

-Pleasantly sweet scent, with patchouli notes that lean too strong for my liking.
-White floral with some spice.
-Powdery, as with all other Roja Doves.
-Suitable for women aged 35+.
-Not fbw. (-)

hottspice

This is my favourite fragrance from this house! smells rich and classy, you can really smell the cashmere and this makes it feel luxurious. The only issue is that the longevity is very poor but I still really really like it. This is wayyy better than the overhyped enigma, I do own both but I love this a lot more.

BrandiBlack

Sadly, I don't love it.

It's sweet, creamy, spicy and has a base woody note. It's not fantastic and I was really hoping it would be. I'm coming into my late 20's and my mum immediately said it smells like an older woman. Dianaelz.1 said it smells like soap and it does a little!

I personally do not recommend.

Tjmc666

I am a huge fan of roja’s fragrances. The quality of the raw materials he uses is next to none...and I mean none. Baring in mind that I am a guy and I absolutely love his Diaghilev fragrance. I also wear a lot of the fragrances he created which were intended solely for women. I don’t believe that fragrances should be gender specific as the scent will automatically become a male or female scent depending on the person on which it is sprayed on. I really love the powdery notes that Roja creates for some of his feminine fragrances but they just happen to be what I like. Remember that these ingredients in their raw form do not look like male or female items. It’s is just what we are told men and women are supposed to smell like. Lastly I would like to just point out the idea of this scent being way overpriced. I disagree with this because how can you define way overpriced?? Or expensive?? It is all down to experience. If you take a Kashmir jumper for example, you look at the tag and say that’s expensive then you are obviously used to wearing items which are not as expensive such as wool. But the minute u experience Kashmir, how it feels etc then the price becomes irrelevant.

dianaelz.1

Expensive soapy, powdery, floral scent. A bit woodsy and spicy just to give a kick to it.
And there you go...roja 51 pour femme...
I don't love it, but I enjoy wearing it for every day as a casual fragrance at the office.
a very put together type of scent. Feminine and elegant.
Age group: 35+
Any occasion.

Someone said a princess would wear this, I absolutely agree.

Update: this does not last more than one hour on the skin, it disappears, it is absolutely dissapointing to pay for a decant size 7.5 ml 55euro plus shipping expenses and receive a scent that lasts less than an hour.

Allisonmsmith22

Soft and fluffy. A little creamy, a little powdery.

Undoubtedly pretty, however I find the drydown is remarkably close to a less sweet Pour Femme by Dolce and Gabbana. With equally poor performance.

I highly recommend sampling before you buy because you might already have something similar in your collection. I'm glad I had the patience to get a decant. I almost blind bought and while it is beautiful, I would have had major buyers remorse.

emerson10

Super feminine. Immediately I get notes of vanilla and rose. After about an hour, it's less rose and more white floral bouquet. I can still smell the vanilla, and I think even slight hints of sandalwood. After an hour or two, is when the amber fragrance really starts to come in for me.

It starts like a strong floral and dries down a little more woody/resinous. While the opening is entirely different, I smell strong similarities in the dry down to Serge Lutens Santal Masjuscule (which is very woody). I think it's a little sweet/floral for my personal taste (but I tend to enjoy more unisex aromatic perfumes, so I'm biased).

EDIT: The fragrance lingered on my shirt and my pillow and I couldn't stop sniffing. It leaves the most wonderful, expensive, sweet, comforting smell on any article of clothing/bedding, etc it touches. Gorgeous. I think since it's so strong, putting a dab is perfect. My boyfriend adores the smell.

EDIT EDIT: I smelled this over two years ago and 2.5 years later I feel similarly. TBH the opening is too vanilla to me. It's a very vanilla/ylang ylang opening. I don't dislike it but it's not my personal style. That drydown though... is MAGIC and still feels very Belle to me. magical princess.

WHO I PICTURE THIS ON:
A princess? I feel like this is what Belle smells like at the end of Beauty and the Beast when she becomes a princess.

Myperfumediary

This beautiful fragrance is so ROMANTIC and feminine . Its a juicy sweet raspberry mix with a flower bouquet and a sensual hint of vanilla. Its addictive !!! I apply a bit on my hair and smell so delicious all day long. I got 7.5 ml parfum full bottle on my wish list lol

Longevity is good and Sillage is moderate

Kots_Tanya

This is so beautiful and pure and powdery and airy. There is a similarity with M. Micallef bit this one is more vanilla powderiness, it’s coconuty. M.Micallef has that peach note and kind of smoky vanilla. There is similarities but they’re different. I want to say I Like this one a lot of not for the cashmere woods, I noticed every fragrance I smelled that has that note makes it a little nauseating. Don’t know, I’ll keep testing.

felipebizarria.1

sweet, sweet, sweet and sweet.

joyjoy

This does smell like M. Micallef Ylang for awhile BUT after about 30 minutes this smells a lot like a softer, less potent Enigma. I can't stand Enigma personally (I know it's really popular though). There's still traces of the lovely tropical sweetness but the base is giving off way too much of the powdery Enigma. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this. I sprayed this perfume from the bottle-not a sample vial.

Edit: I have to note that the Enigma I have is probably 5 years old & from the reviews I’m now seeing it’s been reformulated. Mine does not smell anything like Tresor, past or present. It’s a big scent & powdery and yet I’ve just discovered it’s beautiful in cold weather. I see the appeal now. Not so sure if I’ll feel the same about the reformulated scent. I’m so tired of IFRA & all these reformulated perfumes. You find something you like & in a few short years it’ll get butchered.

SebWB

This is a perfect example of how to make unisex vanilla fragrances. Cozy but elegant, great job Roger.

najgirl

So strange, I have had this perfume for some time now, and I enjoy it - just seems weaker in projection from my other Rojas so I don't reach for it very often (because I love strong blasting perfumes)-but I never realized it had Ylang (a note I normally can't stand) in it. I have discovered recently that my aversion toward many classics and vintage 80's fragrances is due to the presence of this note. It smells like musty cardboard to me - like an old shoebox? But here, I don't detect that at all. This is a very sweet, very feminine, floral fragrance that smells of high quality, but is not at all outdated. This couldn't offend anyone. It's a very safe perfume - and not overpowering. Just don't sense the Ylang - maybe its a combo of Ylang and orange blossom (commonly found it vintage fragrances) that bothers me.. Now I'll have to experiment some more.

iobhai

You're struck, sent into a feminine coma. Heaven absolute. You arrive at a nebulous cloud, paralyzed, with your knees giving out. Flower petals lightly tumble down around you, and trees start to sway in the wind off at a distance, their rustling leaves making the only sound. Stars silently twinkle beyond the swirling mountains of the pink nimbus, and you can't help but gasp. Your soulmate comes up from behind you and traces your aching joints with her fingers before pulling the softest casmir blanket around you. She embraces you beneath it, holds you, and kisses you, and she tastes warm, of vanilla, and raspberries, and light and creamy spices, and you just don't want this moment to end. 51 Pour Femme by Roja Dove.

on the noze

Lovely cosy floral I believe any woman would enjoy this.
Very nice indeed.

cutetrang

Sampled it in store once on a strip and on my skin with 1 spritz. First impression so far:

I get a very strong ylang ylang and vanilla note with a touch of red berries and white flowers. The ylang ylang note is very strong on my skin, which I am totally loving. It is not too banana like and a nice creamy scent without being too heavy.

I own also M. Micallef - Ylang and it is very similiar on my skin. Loving 51 pour femme but since I have a smiliar scent, which is more affordable, I will stick to it. I might purchase a small size of 51 after I finished Ylang (which will take years...)
