I'm just super disappointed with these "Essence de Parfum" editions. That's probably why they've been discontinued. I think they are the equivalent to Jo Malone's EDC's. Definitely not worth the high price tag. I have a parfum of Roja (Reckless) and honestly that even has pretty weak performance. Scandal, imo, is the only one worth purchasing as an essence because white florals are so potent on their own that they can handle this weaker constitution. I struggle with deciding if I want to splurge and get the parfum of Elixir and 51 or try the EDP and save some coin. I literally spray this about 25x when I wear it. The 51 is ylang ylang water in the essence. I guess I'm just going to have to order directly from Roja and get the travel versions of the EDP of both to see if they're worth it but with my luck, they'll be sold out on the discount sites by then. I love the scents and they're blended beautifully, but I'm not paying 200-300$ for skin scents, no ma'am. Anyone, can you attest to the performance of the new EDP's? They look like this bottle but have a jeweled cap and they're no longer purple.

astralmonad870

I got a partial of this containing about 15 ml as part of a swap. There is a somewhat Oriental base with the cinnamon, wood and spices but overall this is too sweet for me to invest in a full bottle.

Mc1995

Very pretty of course but a younger, flatter smelling version of Creation E/Enigma pour femme and 51. 51 being the best in my opinion as a smell, but creation E/Enigma Femme being the best quality but probably most ‘mature’ of these, not the same fragrances but subtle differences and very similar vibes. Glorious notes pyramid and smells though. Utmost femininity and glamour in a fragrance these. But this one, Elixir being the weakest.

OneSnifWonder

This smells like a bathroom spray. An immediate no for me.

FruityPatchouli

When I first sprayed it I thought "smells perfumey" and "that's a lot of fruit." Then it settled down, and I thought wow that smells kinda familiar. It dawned on me that this smells like Rose Extase! It's got the same raspberry and rose, just a bit more going on because of all the powdery/musky notes. So if you want something WAY cheaper with a similar vibe, maybe check out Nina Ricci Rose Extase. Having said that, it's very pretty I just can't justify the price.

Rozalina

I don't think this works with my skin chemistry. It smells mostly like soapy, musky peach. I see that others are getting an uplifting powdery rose, and I am not. It's definitely a basic, fruity mishmash on me, just like YSL's Parisienne was, so I see why this reminds people of that perfume. Also, I loved Rose Essentielle by BVLGARI and I don't really think they smell alike.

amudrechenko

I love this perfume! This is a gorgeous feminine scent with powdery notes. I keep hearing the rose note the most as well as the beautiful woody and musky base. The orris in the base opens up gorgeously. I would definitely consider buying a full size perfume, but for now, I am ok with the decant!. The perfume feels new, innovative, not stale or "old vibe", it's very feminine and light. I would consider this perfume safe as well.

RGH01

Usually I’m no stranger to wearing scents that lean feminine or are marketed to women, but Elixir goes way too far down that feminine path for me personally. However, if I smelled this on a woman it would be incredible.

This scent is dominated by a fruity core - juicy, tart raspberries combined with powdery, fuzzy peaches is both delectable and alluring, with an ever so subtle fizz coming from bergamot. This fruitiness is then married by an array of thick and powdery florals; most notably rose, violet and heliotrope.

Elixir is the scent of a young woman in my eyes. The attention-grabbing fruitiness contrasted by the traditional powdery florals combines perfectly when smoothed out by creamy vanilla, orris and musks. Overall this is a delicately beautiful scent.

tfek

A sweet and uplifting floral scent with fruity notes at the background. It’s powdery but not as powdery as Narsisco Rodriguez For Her. I love everything about it, it’s such a perfect blend. But the dry down is rather disappointing. Quickly dries down and all the sweet and uplifting notes seems to fade away, leaving only the woodsy notes.

CPS719

The finest, full-bodied raspberry/rose champagne.. smells great for a special occasion. This also reminds me of the discontinued YSL Parisienne without the vinyl note & screechiness which I prefer. FYI this year's new repackaged bottles are more concentrated.

rinrinlovesrinrin

i have a perfume by vicky tiel called 'sirene' and on my skin, i cannot tell the difference between the two. soapy perfume, bit of a freshy, light and pleasant and airy, wouldn't recommend it for the price point. i think if you're gonna purchase roja dove, might as well go darker and save the light and airy option for perfumes which are known for excelling in that range like.... i'm not too sure but bond no. 9? not sure because i usually dislike light freshies unless it's also musky or spicy floral which this is not but let's wait for the drydown.

the drydown is powdery and soft and almost a skin scent. it's ok, not bad but for the price, there are so many other perfumes you could get besides this.

Myrtillajus

Roja always creates very elegant and composed fragrances, it is a brand that I really like.
Elixir is a powdery fragrance that opens, I would say subdued, and then opens up and gives way to Ana explosion of fruity and flowery scents, blended so well with each other that we can only speak of an olfactory symphony. It does not fall into the obvious, it is neither too cloying nor too flowery. I really appreciated it but it is not one of those fragrances that represent me.
Renoir's painting "Girls at the piano" comes to my mind: two clean girls, beautiful in their naturalness who are also an explosion of joy and represent that bucolic and ideal environment recreated by this perfume.

LKV

My perfect everyday scent! Soft florals with a hint of sweetness.

BaJu

Opening is very synthetic, smells like plastic. Can't comment the dry down, as nothing remains on my skin after 1 h 🤨 Really not worth of the price - there are lots of half cheaper, but much more impressive floral perfums.

Moshka77

Who pays $315 for this? I would rather wear Avon. This "fragrance" is just horrible & offensive, scented accetone smells better 👎👎👎

Tasherapd

This smells like nail polish with a touch of rose. Definitely not something I would want to smell like. It’s not bad but definitely isn’t worth the price.

ina.rem

This is such a pleasant, office-appropriate scent, but why is it not long-lasting? Beautiful elegance.

primasiska

i love the musky smell in roja. but like another reviewers, it doesnt stay that long for pricey pricey money. just made me mad, bc i really love the smell but really bad longevity

The Wolf

Fruity women's shampoo

scensitive

Alluring rose and orange fruit still life next to a pitcher of sweetwater. Acqua al fresco.

Super clean lipstick violet linen rustles with glinted crinkles from an ajar sill where a perched dove thumpers its low hum and flaps.

As the light passes over the sky of more laundered violets and florals, a blue fox frollicks through sheets and white cockleshells before disrupting soft down gosling nests of fleeing waddlers. Astonishingly pert violet.

At this point, the scene shifts to an everpresent musk and violet parasol.

mad_mal

Soft powdery and fruity. I get white florals and rose... raspberry, musk, orris, sandalwood. The others not so much or I am just not that familiar with them. I like it. It's a safe office perfume and to me, leans feminine (and pricey).

SaraZigova

Longevity makes me literally angry

Jabouba

I literally can use this perfume for the rest of my life and be ok with that, it’s very soft and feminine great for all year long.

lmnsvgz

A very light fruity-musky scent. Focus is on the raspberry and peach, but they feel green rather than ripe. Light sweetness, stays close to the skin.

JaeronQ

My first experience with Roja. As someone mentioned below - nail polish remover or bug spray. Thank god it disappears in a few hours... therein lies problem number 2. I was waiting to see if the drydown would be different... there was no drydown, it was just gone. The big bucks for a fragrance that does not last at all.

That would be a no from me. Sample first!

Annelieva

I just bought a 5 ml. decanter of this and decided to spray one spray on my wrist while I was in the bathroom making my self ready for bed. My immediate thought was that it smelled like almond essence! I’m a bit surprised that almonds or benzaldehyde isn’t among the listed notes. I can understand why some people say it smells like nail polish remover, because that smell also reminds me of strong almond essence. I went to bed and smelled my wrist, and decided I really liked this perfume. But then, 15 minutes later when I went in for another sniff, the perfume was completely vanished from my skin! Nothing left! After one hour it was 100% evaporated from my skin. I’m going to experiment more with the sample before I make my final judgment, but right now I’m thinking it was a waste of money. Thank God I didn’t blind buy the full bottle, like I sometimes do.

KELIZ

I really want this fragrance especially for the beautiful bottle but I can’t justify the enormous price for a perfume that doesn’t last more than two hours. I adore the scent but it doesn’t get to that level until after it dries dries down and then it disappears. At first application it seems so much like acetone nail polish remover. Very strange that it switches to something very soft and pleasant. Sure wish this could be adjusted to have a more pronounced projection and longevity. I’m going to experiment with the sample a little more before I decide whether it’s a go or not.

style1015

This is pretty- feminine, delicate, fruity, floral, musky, slightly sweet and a little powdery. It's certainly nice, prim and proper- but doesn't knock my socks off and I think there are fragrances with a similar vibe with better performance for less money. I do enjoy the dry down when more sweetness comes out. It is also basically a skin scent on me and fades quickly so for the price I feel like performance could be a bit better.

marinaw90

Oh, to create such a beautiful (expensive) scent that just doesn't last...how cruel you are to us Roja! Honestly I am so disappointed as I would 100% get a full bottle of this had it lasted more than 15 minutes on me. Even on clothes it disappears. Such a shame.

softy

it smells like nail polish or nail polish remover. disappointing...

Jenronzello

Soft, sweet, and feminine. Surprisingly youthful, considering the powdery notes. It makes me think of fruity hard candy mixed with rose. Sits very close to the skin.

Esna

This perfume reminds me of my mom and grandmother when I hug them close and press my head against their chest; a combination of their favorite BR540 and their natural creamy warm body scent.

This perfume smells like my mom wearing her favorite perfume after a long day of shopping, drinking coffe, trying on various expensive face creams, hand lotions, other expensive perfumes and taking a long nap when getting home.

Very very wonderful, mature and nice but not my style because it lacks a dark edge that I always prefer.

Farangismua

I smelled it at the store and fell in love. I bought a travel size from the actual Roja website but it doesn’t last for shit. Considering a luxury perfume I was hoping it would last at least few hours, didn’t even last 20 min. Rip off

lorna.1

Having sampled this in the warm weather, I had hoped it would stay and linger. I was disappointed. I have Turandot, which is divine; sadly, this one was not noticeable to me after 15 minutes. I might as well have not worn anything. It is a shame as it sounds great on paper.
The price is a lot, and there are much better and more excellent Designer fragrances that would be more affordable and make you feel like the cost of this one and more!

nurtenka

For the first 10-15min smells like dreamy flowers and I even remember saying "wow"... but then drastically transforms into something very unpleasant reminding me a bug spray. Could be a reaction on my skin, but didn't work for me.

Patricia888

Wore it today and having read the reviews had my sample with me - I agree with all the comments that you have to reapply every 2h - from the skin it is gone in that time period. You can still smell it on your clothes but it does not project from clothes.
So, now that that`s out of the way - the scent is lovely: fizzy, sparkly almost. It made me feel classy and elegant. Great for warm spring and cooler summer days.

Aidafares

I love it but dose not last at all any one has idea or layering or cream to make it lasting more time and in same moment dose not effects the smell

brenda.arellano001

A softer, powdery-er version of Lipstick Rose. I prefer the vibrancy of LR and it shines in comparison in terms of projection and sillage.

janine57

What’s not to like? It seems good . Just not anything special. I was surprised and disappointed. I agree with Angelbirthdaycake. It wears you.. it doesn’t make you smell good. Nice Niamey. I had a travel spray. Glad it wasn’t a blind buy full bottle. I would recommend you try it first. You will smell perfumed.

Keziah

Anyone in the us looking to get rid of their almost full100ml bottle, please message me. I am interested.Thank you

Farangismua

When I smelled it I was so amused. This perfume is hard not to like. I instantly fell in love and getting a bottle. I feel like its so intoxicatingly beautiful. Im in love. Im picky with perfumes and hardly fall in love at first sniff. Highly recommend trying a decant

AngelBirthdaycake

Just got this from the official Roja Dove online store. Very disappointed.
I had big hopes for this one - many people I follow and respect speak highly of this fragrance, which is why I decided to purchase it.
I expected powdery fruity floral sweetness, and I was over the moon with many of the notes listed on here. Peach and raspberry akin to reality. What I got was department store air, a chemical cocktail in a pretty bottle. Headache inducing. Very obvious that you don't actually smell nice - you aren't wearing the perfume, it is wearing you. You are Perfumed.
Just like my purchase of Pivoine Suzhou by Armani - expected true to life sweet freshness, got an expensive headache I wanted to return.
Do not blind-buy, you will regret it.

you_love_gabrielle

This is a very powdery floral scent. It’s a bit too mature for my personal taste. It is very musky as well and performance is severely lacking for the price. I would pass on this one.

Mghen

I ordered the sample set of this collection and this is a beautiful fragrance! super feminine and delicate. It's very soft and pretty.
I mostly pick up floral notes and some fruitiness, nothing sharp or offensive. Great signature everyday scent however longevity is very disappointing specially for the price tag on this perfume.

Roja perfumes must do something about the longevity and the price tag if they can't improve it!

kls11

Smells like nail polish remover without the acetone. It’s very faint but after buying a decant I bought a separate one from another place because I was convinced someone messed with it. Nope, second sample smelled exactly the same. Smells generic, harsh and faint all at the same time.

Plamka

I have never smelled, nor do i have in my collection something so well done, reading the comments below i am left with the impression i am in for a treat with so many other Roja perfumes to test, if this is not his best one - then oh my!!!
When i tested this on my wrist and sniffed it i was literally blown away i could smell the whole pyramid, it felt like i was taken on a beautiful long trip to the sky on a ladder of flowers. I will be saving for this one, i need it!!
One of the best fruity-florals i've smelled for sure.
Longevity could be better, there is another, more pricy version of this perfume perhaps its longevity is better.
I am definitely thrilled and can't wait to try more Roja perfumes!

AnlisaC

This is my holy grail fragrance I used to love another but this has taken it;s place. It is such a beautiful powdery (not baby powder) floral fruity fragrance but very mature and sophisticated . Lasting power is phenomenal especially on clothes sillage when just sprayed also phenomenal. I can smell the raspberry and rose immediately than it evens out to a powdery wood scent. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.

Ljoye

This one is packed with a punch, as far as notes go. Truly beautiful when they merge. I love this scent. I adore the fruitiness' marriage with the warm notes. Very wearable and memorable, but...
It is way overpriced for the weak performance it has. I was expecting more for what it's worth. I had maybe 2 hours of bliss before it disappeared entirely. Disappointed with that aspect. I would recommend this fragrance for it's lovely, masterful accord, but sorry to say it just wasn't worth the $$$ for me. If you don't mind the weak projection and lasting power, and can afford to keep reapplying to get a full day in, then it's a winner.

juicypearxo

Umm what……?

For a $400 perfume you’d expect it to last more than 10 minutes?

Smells like rose water. Never in a million years would I spend that money on a perfume that lasts worse than a VS spray

lovelytuberose

I would love for my shampoo to smell like this.

Mez0Nez

The mixture of a sweet peach and some sandalwood, with vanila powdery accord have some hot-rubber or very chemical scent and give me nauseous. this is that like.

*loves_shoes*

Soft, sweet raspberry rose. Beautiful, high quality but not unusual as far as the general smell. And very, very, very soft.
I prefer Enigma Essesnce de Parfum to this one, it just has more depth and more longevity.

juice.world

7 minutes in heaven

Houdini4

A very pretty, pink, fruity musk.
Sure I can get many of the fruits listed here from it. the raspberry/rose, the delicate peach/apricot fuzz but also a kind of pear juice. Fades down to a floral, musky scent which is very pleasant, clearly fantastically well made, it's lovely. Some may not get that nuance and get herbal essences shampoo from it, and I wouldn't blame you for that.
For me though it's a theme that you've smelled before, only elevated slightly, is it worth the money 'elevated'? That's up to you.
A perfume I never could or would wear because it's way too overtly feminine for me, and I'll wear lots of women's perfumes without missing a beat, some are a step too far and this one.

PhillyFresh

Great smell, extremely weak performance. After about 30 mins from spray, it becomes a skin scent. It's a rose, smokey, powder scent. No real fruitiness. Unfortunately, performance is terrible. Not at all worth buying.

crizzy

When I first put it on, I was hit with an overwhelming giant nose full of musk (which I despise). How all these people are smelling roses, raspberries and peaches is a mystery to me. I couldn't smell any florals or fruits. Then, after five minutes (literally), I could barely smell it even putting my nose against my skin. If you're into spending hundreds of dollars for a bottle of nothing, then this is the perfume for you!

perfumeshewrote

Elixir opens with a fresh bergamot, zesty, accompanied by violet, peach and raspberry. The contrast between such a fresh bergamot and such a dusty violet is very interesting. Now, what I feel and is not present in any description of the perfume is a hint of bitter cocoa powder. The flower bouquet that arrives soon after is perfect: Rose de Mai, Violet, Ylang-Ylang and Violet. Dusty, warm, elegant. In the dry down I feel a progression of dusty, musky and sweet notes. Musk, vanilla, ambrette, iris and vanilla. I also keep smelling the Rose, peach and raspberry until the end.

Elixir is luxury, a formula that recalls the past with an eye towards the future. Above all, Elixir is femininity and elegance, the one that doesn't scream, whispers.

As for performance it lasts around 4-5 hours on my skin and stays very close to skin after 1 hour.

Kterhark

I had such a hard time sniffing this I wondered if I caught covid and lost my sense of smell (I haven't). It's a shame this fades so quickly to a skin scent, it's very lovely and is the type of fragrance I gravitate towards. If this could be even 25% stronger I would consider it fbw. The softness, powdery goodness and reach of the florals is just stunning.

Noor Jadir

For me, it is a regular generic fragrance that I don’t think I’ll go for it if I purchase a whole bottle. I hoped it was more unique. It does not last and quickly turns to be a skin scent. Simply, I’m disappointed!

sharon.ceskowski

It’s a good skin scent on the dry down but I imagine I wouldn’t reach for it that often. I have a brand new 8ml sample of anyone is interested in swapping.

lanaconstantinova

It is simply an unforgettable fragrance, once you put this one on you won't be able to think about others again. I was addicted to Jeanne by Lanvin for ages, far too long at least a couple of decades. Now I can't stop thinking about Elixir the same way I was so loyal to my old mate Jeanne. It feels like cheating...haha...It just creates a fairytale around you and you feel like a goddess.
PS:
I finished my sample very quickly and in the end I haven't changed my mind about it. Although it really reminds me about pear candy like a lollipop and a soda we had in Russia in 70-s which was called Duchess as a sort of a pear. I am reading those comments that this perfumes doesn't last long nor it's worth the money. I think it's so unique and yes maybe there are many perfumes similar to it, but this is pure perfection IMHO, I am not offended and so happy that not everyone likes it because then I can own this rare smell since many complain...haha... My first sample I bought at lucky scent while I was still living in an extremely humid climate and the projection wasn't as strong as now when I moved to Russia where it's winter now. I spray it only once and my room and myself smell for about 12 hours and the next day even after a shower I can smell it on me. So, I think in winter when it's minus ten degrees Celsius it must stay longer than when it's warm plus because it's so subtle and well blended you can get used to it. Try and ask your people around you if they notice it after like 6 hours in winter pretty sure they would confirm that it's still there.

excuse.my.sillage

I'm reviewing this one from an official sample from Roja.

I had high hope for this as the bottle looks like something I would love to collect. But Elixir Pour Femme by Roja Dove runs a bit sweet-scented-baby-powder to me. It's bright, light and fresh in the opening, yes. But that's it. Nothing memorable about this one. I can see if you're looking for a safe scent that will please the crowd and can be your signature type of scent, this will fit into that category tho. I don't say it's bad but it's not for me.

Rosemary14

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. I made a bunch of unfounded assumptions about Roja Dove. I really thought that they were going to be too classic for me in the vein of Shalimar and Chanel No 5. When it comes to fragrances I need them to be somewhat modern. Roja Dove is modern and sophisticated and absolutely delicious. This is what all fruity florals aspire to be when they grow up. The raspberry and peach are quite strong and the rest just blends seamlessly creating a silky smooth rich bouquet that is impossible to pick apart. I’m kind of upset how much I love this. It’s such an expensive house. But, it also smells expensive.

lisabills2

The sample almost made me cry...in a bad way. I have wanted to try Roja Dove perfumes since I heard about them last year. I mean, the reputation and the descriptions are so enchanting. I finally got a sample of Elixir and Old. Lady. Smell. I was so shocked by the strength but I shouldn't have been. Rose just stinks on me. It's mixed with violet which I like, and geranium in a stale old handkerchief way. Well just send me back to the humid un-airconditioned summer in the 60's in a sweaty girdle with blue hair and I haven't bathed in about 4 days. Enter a child who is terrified of me squeezing their cheeks and enveloping them in my scary sour smelling batwings, and THAT is what I smelled like. Oh the horror.

iobhai

You're a crab apple, and you're powdered with sugar, and you're being eaten on a midday stroll through a rose garden. Elixir Essence De Parfum by Roja Dove.

danygurl06

This is a nice fragrance although it smells a bit generic. The initial spray smells awesome but the dry down smells like something I could pick up at a regular store. Overall, it smells good though.

I saw someone say that this is similar to Valentina Pink. At first, I was like no way. Then when both dried down (you know I had to test them) I see the similarities.

Roja Elixir is very fruity. The peach blends nicely with the raspberry. So the raspberry doesn’t dominate. It’s a very feminine fragrance, but not spectacular. I do enjoy it very much.

Now Valentina Pink has something deep in it that smells like Oud. The dry down is very similar to Elixir but that patchouli praline smells very deep and makes it different.

cooke.84

Beautiful opening. Light whiffs of peach throughout the day. Very soft. I had to spray 5-7 times to have the scent even register. I will enjoy my sample from scent.com, but I would not buy a full bottle due to performance.

arumk

My Favourite Parfume all the time. I love the powder smell, very soft and gently.

vandosud

This one after half hour gives me the vibe of Bond No 9 Hampton!!!!

Lovaloo

I agree with those who've said this has a pretty opening, it does. The raspberry and peach notes stand out to me more than anything else. The bright fruits fade to a gentle, fuzzy rose-floral fragrance. Soft, pretty, powdery, and sweet. I smell the violet too, it melds into the rose and gives this perfume an underlying woodiness. The base is made up of soft wood notes and musks. The overall impression is transparent, velvety, and subdued.

This isn't particularly unique, raspberry-rose fragrances are common. It doesn't last long, maybe five hours. Projection is soft, it's a skin scent. Very, very synthetic, but not in an unpleasant way. I'll just say that it is unlikely there are any natural materials in this perfume and leave it at that.

For the sake of posterity I think this perfume smells pleasant, but for the money? Laughable. Terrible value for something that comes at such a steep price.

Myperfumediary

My favorite perfume!!! Is stunning, feminine modern and yet is classy.

Its has a beautiful peachy sirupy opening with a slightly powdery violet and a sweet raspberry rose. Its a grown up sweet floral!! A must have from the roja Parfums. hubby loves it on me

Longevity is good and Sillage is Moderate-Soft

Kots_Tanya

I’m so mad, the scent is so gorgeous but it doesn’t last even as long as the body spray, please someone say I’m not the only one, may be I’m anosmic to it? I can’t smell it pass 20min and it’s frustrating because I love the scent and hate the price and the performance for the price.

JenniferLatifa

A beautiful fragrance that reminds me of Stella Pop! They are so much alike and I love both of them! Perfect everyday scent. Love love love this one!

Pif-Paf

Very pleasant aroma. Absolutely not unique. The price is too high

Isa Ramirez

I have a 7.5 ml bottle of this perfume.
Elixir has a mild intensity.
Duration of 9-10 hours.
This is a perfume of a tremendously sensual and pleasant rose scent sweetened with raspberry and peach, with delicate hints of violet and flowers. At the beginning you feel the freshness of the rose accompanied by the violet and in its end we will feel the sensuality that the musk gives it with a powdered rose.
It is a delicate perfume, I fully understand that the concept is that of a perfume designed to delicately perfume our skin. Perfume of short distances, but extremely beautiful, delicate and sensual.
I would like to point out that being a delicate perfume with a mild intensity, many people accustomed to extremely intense perfumes when they encounter this soft perfume, quickly stop feeling its aroma. But if you are used to soft perfumes you perfectly feel their perfume on the skin for many hours. In addition Elixir is a perfume essence precisely to extend the life of its soft aroma on our skin for longer.
We must always understand that not all perfumes have to be scandalous and that many people enjoy mild aromas.
Final conclusion; Soft but extremely feminine.

latafan

I got a 2ml sample of this while buying another perfume (none Roja) in a Boutique.

Now when I first wanted to test wear this my first impression was actually really good. Some rose, some powder, a gentle woodyness that is there even in the opening (not bad) and also an understated fruitiness. Admittedly allover quite generic perfumy, but I was still thinking 'Alright, let's roll with this today.' while applying a spritz to each of my arms, my decoltée and my neck.

Barely 15 minutes in short before leaving the house I stretch my arm out to my husband asking him to smell it for his opinion. He took a deep breath and his verdict was 'I can't smell anything... well... just like soap.' And true enough, even I could barely perceive it at that point anymore and not willing going into the night fragrance-less ended up applying another perfume over it. 'Weird, for something called Elixir.' I thought.

To be fair I live in a very hot humid country, so maybe this kind of fragrance being pressed down a bit by the climate. Now I'm wearing it for the second time, while sitting in the chilly AC.

Again it is actually kind of nice as described in my first impression. Soft, gentle, feminine, something that would be advertised with some ethereal lady in an airy light pink blouse opening her french windows in the morning, gentle morning light filtering through the curtains. Problem is, to me there is literally nothing in this fragrance that makes it outstanding compared to all other fragrances advertised like that. And again, it barely seems to be even there.

Is it nice? Sure. I don't see what's to dislike as far as notes go, but at the same time there's also nothing that really captivates you. Is it feminine? Yes, gentle to a fault actually.

Now would I pick this up for 250 to 500 Euro? OH, HELL NO!

Seriously this smells like a whole list of other fragrances. Personally it reminds me at once of a combination of two Yves Rocher fragrances I used to own, just a lot weaker. It's somewhere in between Quelque Notes D'Amour and Comme un Evidence.

Bottom line being, if the price tag is peanuts to you, it's definitely a safe pick, preferably for a not too hot middle European climate.

If the price tag hurts you, rest reassured, you're not really missing anything and you'll find very close dupes to this for a fraction of the price.

This fragrance is SOOO polarizing to me. I want to love it but I just don’t. This sits extremely close to my skin & 90% of the time I cannot smell it. When first applied I mainly smell rose with a slight fruitiness to it. After 30 or so minutes it smells very much like my Gucci Guilty perfume with added rose. The rose note is very clear on my skin. It’s a nice gentle fresh rose, not jammy or syrupy. Very elegant & feminine. All this is very fleeting because after about 3 hrs I cannot smell it anymore, unless I put my nose to my skin. After a few hrs it develops into a white musk that sits close to the skin. I’ll get the occasional waft of a nice sandalwood/ white muskish smell, slightly sweet, when a breeze hits. This will last a good 12 hrs at this stage. I can’t smell it & then I smell it if I’m moving around or a breeze hits. This parfum is ALL about the drydown. I know this is one of his (Roja) cheaper offerings but I expect a lot more. All in all this juice gives me Gucci Guilty vibes with added rose.

This is my first time reviewing a fragrance because I feel I lack of the talent of describing notes lately I’ve trying to explore the niche parfum world and to my surprise those I have played with always have the same effect smelling like something from the last that I’ve used before even if I can’t remember the name of what it was as of today April 3/19 I have sampled from lucky scent :Danger Pour Femme
Reckless Pour Femme

Innuendo and from ebay a decant of elixir this latest one I was gone from my skin in less than two hours the aroma is amazing but like the others no lasting power no compliments no nothing and paying $500 for this outcome is just ridiculous

Sunflowers - I couldn’t place it immediately but something about this perfume (for the fleeting 5 minutes I can smell it before it disappears- reminded me of something from my past. I couldn’t place it at first, was it an older female relative? No - it was myself and half my friends over 20 years ago. Less so after a few minutes, it softens and sweetens (but most scents do) but it’s so light it’s not worth the wait. My husband said the room smelled good after I sprayed it but for a perfume to be worth while to me I want to smell myself smelling good. No idea of the cost of this but glad I got a sample - this one isn’t for me.

I have to agree the opening is just brilliant. Its a bright luminous raspberry rose with cedar as the supporting base. A lighter treatment of enigma floats in the background supporting the strong raspberry rose accord giving it a soft powdery femme touch to it.

After about hour 2 it settles in and the aromachemicals kick into gear with cashmeran and iso e super giving this a soft focus effect hum.

I actually enjoyed how Roja calibrated this scent. This is a bright modern departure from Rojas traditional heavy, rich aesthetic. Its beautiful and dare say epoch of the floral fruity musk genre. It feels like Elizabeth Taylor at her most glamourous, svelte and ready to own the world

The opening of Elixir is absolutely stunning: a powdery, yet invigorating peachy-raspberry note combined with tart rose facets. This made me feel ever-so delicate and girly. As the scent evolved, a musky-violet note emerged and the peachy/raspberry combo began to die down. The dry down on me was a rather dull floral-woody-musk number, which I found a little disappointing compared to the earlier phases of the scent. Staying power on my skin was around 2 hours, beyond that it became a skin scent. I wanted to buy a full bottle simply because the first hour is out of this world, but I had to restrain myself. Hopefully a 7.5 mL discovery sample will be available to purchase at some point on the Roja website. This scent is currently exclusive to Selfridges.
