How is it that I am still struggling with this after owning it for a year or more ? It's nice. And a good value. But you need it to sit for a while and if you're gonna make it into a "Lancome Oud Bouquet" dupe - you're going to have to improvise with a BRIGHT fruity note on top of this . I use one of my "peach cheapies" and it's like "we are almost there". Don't get me wrong: this is a nice "gourmand oud" but it needs a little "push". I am not unhappy with my blind buy.

Jaelle

Gives me a headache but I just can't stop wearing it...it's so beautiful

stushawarma

Blind buy since I heard it was similar to Oud Bouquet and Resala. Fantastic purchase-family members are already fighting over the bottle.

ollimolli

a surprisingly good Oud rose with a typical line. resembles many others

LalaLayton

Good smell but just way and way less quality than arabian oud Resala. Yes there is a comparison but it's cheap vs expensive quality.

nakota

Oud is indeed quite civilised here, but still this scent is like you walk into your dentist's office and he is eating vanilla-chocolate pudding for lunch. Medical sanitiser turning into synthetic sweetness. Too harsh for a woman, too sweet for a man so really a no-sex fragrance rather than unisex.
Moving from oud harshness to sickening sweetness during the maceration. I'm not motivated to wait and check what happens to it with time.

malake

This smells like oud and a bouquet of roses dipped in chocolate, it's heaven and i'm in love

Loliky

Chynaally

After the first spray let it sit on your counter for a month or so, i guarantee it will smell better. the notes blend together much better, it smell mostly like rose, nuts and vanilla and oud. Its VERY strong and stays on skin long but stays on clothes longer. I had a shirt in my bathroom and it filled the bathroom with its scent for hours.

Venussweden

This has to macerate. When I first got it, there was only oud. Oud everywhere. Fast forward 6-8 months (yes months!!) and it is so lovely, all the notes are there and it’s so smooth.

Eenemeene

This is my every day scent. I love it so much! On my skin it lasts quite a long time, and in my clothes it lasts even longer. I definitely get a lot of compliments on this, and it's just so lovely and sweet without being far too overwhelming. This is exactly what I want from a perfume.

Charmedbymeghan

This is a sweet rose/oud. This one is too harsh for me to enjoy, if I do an oud/rose I need it to be very smooth. This stuff comes off cheap smelling to me and smells similar to a lot of other Arabic perfumes. I love my Middle Eastern fragrances but this isn't it for me. Buyer beware.

Sherry563

I was told that some Arabian houses do not allow scents to macerate enough before shipping. Harsh chemicals can also settle at the top in the atomizer. It's advised to clear the tube by spraying 6 to 8 times when you receive the scent. That seemed to work in this case. The harsh and bitter scent went away and I'm left with a smooth oud.

Reddragon0000

I just got my bottle today as I am trying to see if I can wear OUD fragrances. So far it is not good. There is a note in it that "bites" my nose when smelling it and I think it is the OUD. I am going to macerate it for a few days and see if the oud tones down and I can pick up other notes👍

Gatodoge

I don’t know if I have gotten a bad batch, But the only note I get from this is Oud. I can’t say if it’s feminine or masculine, because the only thing I can smell is Oud. I’ve had it for over a month now, and the only time I wear it, is if I want a Oud undertone to another fragrance I have.

Sammi4443

This stuff is POTENT. like probably the strongest thing you can buy at this price. it opens synthetically but quickly becomes a beautiful sweet, rose and oud fragrance. its somewhat reminiscent of Arabians Tonka but there not particularly similar. This fragrance to me smells like a luxurious Arabian prince. youthful and sweet. in most cases 1-2 sprays is good but if you want to be loud maybe 3 but no more

herculano

The longevity and projection is unreal.

I let my sister try this yesterday and she did one small spray at the back of her hairline.

We then left to go shopping and clouds of chocolate praline and roses followed in her wake with every step. It was astonishing. And SO beautiful!!

HUGE trail.

I never in my life used one spray of perfume, but with this one, ive now realized, its a MUST.

You may think you need more, but it was completely proven to me yesterday that one is borderline too much.

One!

konga5

NOT really a Lancome O.B. clone . Needs some layering w/ something SWEET to get ya there. Good for the price. Good for newbies to OUD.

SmellMasterBoss

Blind bought it and it smells ok. To me it smells a bit watery in the opening and overall the smell is watery. For me it is a bit headache inducing but not much. If i had to put it it smells like saffron with rose, vanilla, oud and some nuttiness. Also very nostalgic to me.

FragranceZoe

To me it smells like resela but lower quality

m2uj

Oud, Coca, and Roses, ( no shiet sherlock ), but it really does smell like that which makes it more on the feminine side, it sure is luxurious & smells expensive, but in the middle east we are used to this kind of scent so it wont be anything unique if you live there, also I have tried oud azraq & this one is much more lighter & pleasant on the nose.

Everything you hear about the performance & longevity is true, overall its really good for the price ( 30$ ).

8/ 10 if you are a guy, 10/10 if you are a woman whos not in MENA.

Duh-Bae

This to me is Oud Mood but colder and sweeter. I think that because I have come across a thousand and one renditions of the Lancome Oud Bouquet DNA this comes off as underwhelming.
Regardless, Shaghaf Oud is an absolutely beautiful fragrance.
Shaghaf oud opens up really strong. From the initial spray to the first few minutes I got an overdose of everything. Overdose of Oud, rose, sweetness and spiciness from the saffron. Opens up really similar to Oud Mood but less spicy and not half as warm.

After about 10 minutes you begin to get wafts of the notes individually. At this point, I can separate the oud from the rose and this is when I begin to get some creaminess i.e the praline is coming to the top. It stays this way for some time.

As time goes on, all the harshness from the initial sprays dissipates and brings out this smooth, well-blended, sweet oud. At this time also, I can barely tell there is a rose there. All I get is oud and a gourmand sweetness.
It dries down powdery and less oudy. In my opinion, I can barely get oud in the dry down.

Differences between this and Oud mood:
Oud mood is heavy on spice. You can immediately tell the pimento and saffron combo is a lot.
Oud mood has a distinct incense that gives it an unmistakable Middle Eastern vibe.
Oud mood is warm and sweet. This is from the amber and caramel. The sweetness here is juicy, thick and borderline sticky sweet.

The rose in Shaghaf Oud isn't the sweet juicy rose, it is that rose that gives that metallic feel similar to the rose in Ajwad.
Shaghaf Oud is sweet, and creamy but dry. Since the sweetness is from just vanilla and praline so it lacks that juicy factor that you get in Oud Mood.
Shaghaf Oud is well-blended and smooth. I almost could not pick out the notes because of how well-blended they are. This emphasises the quality of the fragrance.

So, with this, you can pick your poison. Performance is beastly on both ends.

Freekxng

I just got this after trying Azraq. Total blind buy but totally worth it. Sprayed this on a tester strip and I've been smelling this for hours. Sweet vanilla oud combo on the dry down. It smells a little different on skin but still smells good. it's an amazing fragrance which lasts a long time. The dry down takes some time but it's totally worth it.

I just did 3 sprays on my shirt and rocked it for about 6 hours. The scent still projects even after 24 hours!!! The dry down is really amazing and can really fill a room. Catching myself sniffing the scent in my wardrobe every few minutes. This scent might not be for everyone but it performs really well.

vanille23

imagine the most beautiful arab woman you know - she smells like this. the oud is definitely strong (given that its in the name) but it's almost chocolatey because of the vanilla. i sprayed this once on my wrist to try it and it hasn't been that long but it projects a LOT.

Sanaahm

I got this fragrance maybe over two years ago… & it only gets richer and better as it sits on my shelf…

This is one of my top ten for life and honestly for the price… it’s a steal!

Personally I’ll never get bored of this dna! It’s praline… rose, vanilla and oud…. It’s sexy and so yummy!

Just perfection!

YourFragranceBoo

This is a beautiful and sweet gourmand rose-y vanilla oud! I think the richness of the ouds and the praline give it a vanilla chocolate quality. I am excited to let this scent macerate and just get better.

For having just come yesterday this is glorious and totally a great introduction to ouds. I was initially hesitant because I saw all the reviews saying this is too strong...after having sniffed, it is obvious that this is just because some people aren't familiar with oud.

Great blind buy for those experienced with Arabian perfumes and have a more trained nose. Especially at the $30-40 price point, can't complain.

Punarinta

Blind bought Shaghaf oud, aswad and azraq, even though many warned against that. Just got them in the mail and from what I could figure out, all of mine are a newer batch (+english writing). Giving my first impressions as I get to know them, and will try to update later!

Backround info on my nose: I have a few unisex/somewhat challenging middle-eastern fragrances + masculine fragrances in my collection and I find them nice and wearable (for example Qaa'ed) even though I'm a woman. I also rarely notice oud if it's listed in the notes, unless it punches me in the face (i just register it as a nice deep woodiness). So after extensive research I felt like blind buying these was ok. Also they all sounded so goood!

SHAGHAF OUD: To my nose this has the most oud compared to Aswad and Azraq, and imo this might be the most polarizing of them to my suprise. Projects ok (EDIT: nevermind, It's pretty strong in projection, my nose was just quitting on me since I have beend smelling all kinds of things today :'D). This seems to stick to anything it touches and linger on forever! Be that a good or a bad thing :) What I get most is a sweet oudy-woody smell. There's something praline or caramel-like stuff in there, but it doesn't feel gourmand. Maybe the sweet notes will get more pronounced over time, but for now I'd say don't go buying this and expecting something super sweet and edible. It's sweet don't get me wrong, but the oud is also prominent. If I reeaally try, I can pick up a jammy rose, but it doesn't feel like a rose-centric scent. I really like it tho!

JoPolsdottir

I just received the bottle. I smell alcohol, rubber and something sweet. After all the good reviews, this can't be the whole story. I sprayed 15 sprays in my car and it just disappears. I will put it in a dark closet for a while to let it macerate, then try again. I know from experience that arabic fragrances really can transform within months, or sometimes even days, put aside.

Edit: OH Yes! Yes yes yes - after a month of maceration this perfume is delicious!! Sweet caramelized sugar, vanilla, oud that is almost chocolate-like, nuttiness... NOW I understand why this fragrance is hyped up!! Many reviews don't address the oud and the oud is prominent. But it is so deliciously blended and I like it. This is what I wanted and hoped for! I am excited to see if further maceration changes the fragrance even more, but it took one month for this potent, sweet gem to come through and shine.

Loliky

He probado ésto mezclado con Roberto Cavalli original el de la botella color miel... Bomba!!

solulszabolcs

A strong, sweet, oriental fragrance. Anyone who likes sweet oriental fragrances will like it. Unfortunately, it's not my scent.

rahands1

this fragrance lasts atleast 12+ hours if i had to put a number on it probaly say 14 if not 15 hours on skin. On clothes this lasts days maybe even weeks. Its very strong if not beast mode projection. It fills a room. Do not wear in car. Even 3-4 sprays in car will have people choking out. (Yes i had to go to the back of the car because it was so strong) When trying to imagine the smell, imagine an arabic guy in the mosque. Yes, this fragrance smells like a mosque. Its sweet. The rose and vanilla is almost merged together in this fragrance and they are together hugging in a sense. The oud i smell the most, and then the rose+vanilla, and then the praline. I dont know if i smell saffron becasue idk what that smells like but yeah i mainly get oud with rose and vanilla. This is a delicious fragrance. Its almost like a cocoa chocolatey smell. I kind of get like marshmallow in the back its very sweet and delicious in the dry down like creamy. This is definitely the strongest and most longest lasting fragrance in my collection.

Longevity 10/10
Projection 9.6/10
Good price? definitely
Bang for your buck? Definitely.
Compliment factor? Not sure my parents dont like it becuase its so strong and a unique smell. Lots of mixed opinions. Girls like this though.
Do i reccomend you to buy? yes, definitely. Dont pay more than 80 dollars cad for this.

OVERALL ILL GIVE IT A 9.7/10
THIS IS MY NEW SIGNATURE SCENT its dethroning khamrah by 0.1 points

Reviewing this as an Arab who grew up around variations of oud; this is a beautiful straight up vanilla rose-oud! This to me is what the western world would consider most celebrity fragrances to be - mass appealing and safe blind buy. I can totally understand why this specific oud fragrance made it big around the world, it's a really good intro to oud. I own this and love it and it's my masjid scent! Someone below wrote "this is a typical masjid scent" and I completely agree!
Just be mindful, when you first spray it, it's sharp, might be the rose but let it settle for 5 mins.

Also, DEFINITELY let this one macerate! This one should last longer than the lancome oud bouquet (I tested both side by side). If it doesn't, spray 5-10 times, then put it away for a few months.

Cacau_71

Newbie here!
Blind bought this fragrance and was soooo afraid to hate it but.... no :)
Tried it today and put a spritz on my wrist and love it.
I get why some people smell a bit of burnt rubber, but a sweet one. When it dries down it faints and it gets balmy and I can smell the rose and the sweetness of it.

Iloe1

Ok Shaghaf Oud (Arabic script version) is not a perfume that revolutionized perfumery, nor my olfactory wardrobe. It's not made of the most natural materials which are quite the contrary...it seems to be made of 100% artificial materials!

Let this be said...

But beyond all that, it is a warm, sweet perfume that is both simple and heavy due to the notes it gives.
Is there saffron? yes very noticeable
Natural oud? my god no...an underlying woody accord yes (artificial sandalwood possibly)
A vanilla (++) cocoa/praline (-) accord? Yes
A rose accord? perhaps it is this additional note which adds the most pleasant facet to this perfume which I could have hated if it had been omitted!

It's a pleasant scent if you spray it a little...it diffuses a lot and for a long time. It is compared to Lancôme's Oud bouquet and I can't say anything about that unfortunately. I just hope for those who have opted for the more expensive of the two that the price is truly consistent due to the materials used and that they are fully felt, in their differences with this one!

It's a perfume that I used in very hot weather, and it is just as interesting as in freezing weather...I even think I prefer it in summer, oddly enough!
For my part, I find it neither classy nor sober...I think that its recognized qualities are on the one hand its performance, that it can be appreciated by its sweet side on a woody and spicy background, and by this note of rose that refreshes and purifies everything else in a certain way! Pleasant yes...hardly more but for the price I don't regret this blind purchase..

sunsetwitch

It was really strong oud at first with subtle rose and vanilla, so it was spicy overall. it kind of smelled like burnt rubber which was unpleasant. The other notes came out after the dry down and the oud was less intensive. I do not like it because of the odd smell. It does have depth. I think this leans unisex because of the spiciness. Def a fall/winter evening scent. It did last a long time even after washing my hands multiple times. It was nothing special for me, I think there are better ouds out there. I think it's overhyped. The value is good though.

Nikola90

One of the best winter fragrances for this price, very sweet and powerful, the whole room will smell just like you. First 20-30 mins you feel rose, then it turns in praline/sweet and later u feel strong vanilla.Overall 10/10 budget fragrance

Prunel

Yes, this is UNDOUBTEDLY an Oud Bouquet clone. It smells 90% like Oud Bouquet.
Oud Bouquet smells way higher quality though, it's more sophisticated, round, smooth. The difference is more obvious in the first 30 mins where this one is way harsher, more agressive, way more synthetic smelling. But after 30 mins, it gets smoother.
But this is still excellent if you love Oud Bouquet, allows you to wear it for cheap and keep Oud Bouquet for special occasions. Huge performance. Perfectly unisexe fragrance that will only fit in colder months imo.

shovvoff

This shit is extra strong...Go easy on it if indoors..Smells HEAVY, sharp...Ic for more mature audience Not unisex FEMALE WINTER,Fall frag..IT PROJECTS AND IT LASTS..More for special occasions..Ic not linear changes a little bit pass 3-4 hovers...To me ic worth the $..

Kg2284

Its a “no” for me. Not a safe blind buy which I did. The oud in this makes me nauseous. It’s not the good kind of oud I would say. However after 8 hours i like the smell of the chocolate note on my wrist. Would I give it another chance? I think not.

albiki22

This was a blind buy. I wanted a Middle Eastern fragrance because I just love the sillage on them.
At the beginning I didn’t like it. It was overpowering, the synthetic oud was also not nice, and it was way too sweet.
Then I tried three months later and it is very nice, it has a very nice rose in the first 20 min, not like an old lady type of rose. Then it becomes very sweet with the praline but then it’s toned down and the vanilla and oud stay there nicely.
Btw, I tried Oud Bouquet, and I don’t see how they can be similar. Maybe just because the sweetness but Oud Bouquet feels more like an old lady type of perfume.
By the way, the oud in this, it is not very woody or strong, it’s synthetic but nice.

vistango

too sweet to me

there is no rose at all
top : strong saffron

Okay... maybe a got an iffy bottle or my nose is shot, but it's not actually a beast? It's powerful, but not that much. And it has less edge than I expected. It's a little screechy (you can't expect utmost refinement from a 30$ 100ml), but the oud is very palatable (for reference, I can't stand MFK Oud Satin Mood). Definitely an Oud Bouquet clone. I guess you could say it's like a pop song among oud scents, nothing too eccentric and perhaps also basic. The praline note is sometimes more similar to honey, which I'm not crazy about, but it's still good.

mejevika

My favorite from the brand I'd say (the rest was very unimpressive). There are definite similarities to Oud Bouquet, but of course you can tell it's a much cheaper version - the opening is too harsh, the drydown not as beautiful, the fragrance not as smooth overall. 3/5

Loliky

Me huele exactamente igual al incienso Nag Champa original, exactamente igual.
Es potente, unisex.
La duración és tremendamente buena.

konga5

Helpful Hint: If you want this to be MORE like Lancome Oud Bouquet: LAYER it with Lattafa Sutoor ! The first time I sampled Oud Bouquet - I got PEACH !! Even though peach is not listed. Either way ; Swiss Arabian NEEDS some more "sweet" to get it closer to its discontinued inspiration !! As usual : Thank Me Later.

Bearfalling

Weaker water down version of Oud Mood, less smoky, less oudy, and less complex.

SillageClouds

This isnt for the faint of heart. This has a very very harsh oud opening and you will need to crack a window, but give it a chance, the drydown is sweet, incensey, powdery and beautiful. It softens up eventually and will last a very long time. Same family as Oud Satin Mood like a distant cousin.
If you really want to elevate this fragrance, try layering with Kayali Vanilla 28. You will have the most seductive alluring scent bubble around you all day. Perfection

TripleBee

Can't wait for the Elixir version that's scheduled to come out next year.

SailorMars657

This is a delicious smooth sweet creamy Turkish delight with a medium strength synthetic oud that has no funk/skank and mixed with milk chocolate with just a hint of rose and spice. This is signature scent on a budget worthy. It has a wonderful smell, great projection, silage and longevity. I would give this fragrance a 9/10 it's really just that good!

heresomeflowers

Shaghaf Oud smells like it is made for the gods. What with notes like rose, saffron, and oud, it might as well be. Quite a unique and regal scent to my nose. Not the most complex, but it doesn’t have to be. This is a straightforward saffron + praline + oud bomb. Really potent and long-lasting. It's a feminine-leaning unisex, but it's the kind that I think smells better on a man. Personally this is not my scent profile, but I find myself craving for this every once in a while.

diamonte

TikTok made me buy this lol.
It’s a very offensive scent, in the beginning I can smell the oud, it was very strong but after a while I started to smell something like burning caramel.
It stayed on my clothes til the next day as well. It’s a good perfume overall, the scent is not just for me (someone that likes feminine/girly soft scents). So I gave it away to my husband. This would be a good perfume for men to wear to the mosque on Friday tho!

Moldy

Blind buy and first arab perfume after a lot of research, and I love it!!! It's not super sweet and that is what I was afraid of most (even though I like sweet perfumes).
I advise you to go in random stores where they sell perfumes, try what catches your eye, and understand the notes that you like (through fragrantica) before buying something like this. If you feel burnt rubber or you think it smells like a granny's perfume, then you don't like oud and strong perfumes in the first place. I think all the bad reviews come from the fact that the notes are not to your taste, not because the perfume sucks :)
However, the sillage is 10/10. 2 sprays at most if you don't want to kill people around you.

kristianagk

smelled this in store and it smells the same as van cleef oud blanc to my untrained nose, which i can’t justify getting if there’s a much cheaper version of it... EXCEPT, now that i’ve actually bought shaghaf oud, i realised it has a weird smell when sprayed, both on skin and clothes, i think it might be the burnt rubber smell ive read a few people mention, it does start to go down after 15-20mins, but definitely still there..

..on the bright side (for those who like burnt rubber), despite the numerous complaints about the longevity of the bottles with english writing, i probably spray about 6 sprays on the front of my top and can smell it constantly throughout the workday

..not the worst, but will mostly be wearing it out of guilt for buying it

herculano

Orgasmic.

I also tried Oud Vanille Franck Oliver.

Both are beautiful but for me, Shagaf might be my favorite. Although I am tempted to have both … because Oud Vanille is a delicious warm melted caramel (entirely realistic) on the dry down, which I love, whereas Shagaf Oud is a very fragrant box of exclusive chocolates with rose infusion, and something slightly tart.

Both are powerhouses. Both reek of quality.

I only needed to let Shagaf Oud sit overnight with the cap off for it to blossom and macerate. When I first sprayed it out of the box it was so weak I almost couldn’t smell it. By the next day it transformed into a true bomber. The difference was like night and day,

Totally incredible.

I have a couple other ouds in my collection, such as Honey Oud by Montale, but it’s very masculine and musty even after drying down, compared to these two. These two are so much smoother and so much sweeter than other ouds I’ve tried.

In fact, I regret buying Honey Oud now, after trying these two, and they are far less expensive than that one!

After trying these two, Honey Oud is like sandpaper to me.

Need more bottles to squirrel away.

My niece wore this while we went out shopping and she only used one spray and I smelled this on her the entire time. It creates a beautiful trail.

EDIT: After living with this for a while & having it naturally macerate greatly!
The reason I bought this was because ; you got it; I wanted a Lancome Ôud Bouquet clone. What's lacking here -- is overall SWEETNESS . This is NOT a sweet perfume . However: it is a very balanced OUD that does not smell like anything else in my collection (and my collection is pretty large now!) It does have a gourmand quality -- almost a bar-b-que oud recipe that may include some fruit ! I know this is making some of you shudder but I am appealing to the people like me, who, HATE any blind buy that makes me go "Oh; I've smelled this BEFORE". This is just barely a Lancôme Ôud Bouquet clone BUT add something FRUITY and it may take you there- in an abstract sense (something PEACHY will be needed !) . I just hope there is no Saucy Susan association ! LOL. P.S. This gets a LOT stronger if you let it sit !!

missdalum

Soft oud and creamy praline with the slightest little hint of rose in the first hour. Dry down is all woody vanilla 🪵

Quite straightforward and relatively nice but nothing mindblowing. Will keep testing to see if my sample changes for the better.

ShadMu

Because of my Arabic origins I've smelled this type of scent a million times of people around me,based on the reviews i thought it will be more different or more unique oud-rose combo, but it is too synthetic for me.
I'm disappointed.

CurlGurl

I don't see any comparisons to MFK Oud Satin Mood. But I owned that one for a long time and sold it because this one smelled identical. Now listen, this smells like a hot, no air-conditioning candy shop in the middle of an oud burning. Someone at some point brings you a bouquet of tart roses. That's what this smells like. It's sweet, thick, Moonstruck-Cher-Cage passion-like. Don't expect a guy to love you at first; but he'll obsess over your smell after meet cute and crave you.

Moeebra

Absolutely incredible sweet gourmand fragrance. The performance is great as well. This is one of those fragrances that you just have to have in your collection and for the price there’s nothing quite on this level. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

kiaoi

I remember when there was a big hype for this perfume, and the first warnings came out, on the difference between a bottle with Arabic text and the one in English. Well, I got mine and it’s in English, the juice is not amazing as is often described, it smells very cheap and masculine, Axe masculine. The incense/Oud note is very predominant, people asked me if I had lit an incense when I wore it at home. I hope this just means it needs to macerate for a bit, before I can fully appreciate it. I hope this doesn’t mean that Swiss Arabian changed formulation because of the high demand outside their normal market. I will keep it on the side and update my review, if it will change into a better perfume.

creepy pasta

It’s a nice bathroom scent for winter but it’s much worse on skin, I only get sweet praline and tiny bit of wood, no rose.

Oudie Woodie

Never use on a hot day. Repeat: Never, under any circumstance, use on hot days.

Just gave mine to a friend. I was doing some cleanup and decided to reduce the number of bottles in my collection. It smells really good, but somehow my soul refused the guidelines suggested by my nose: "No", she said (in my language a soul is a "she"), "you can't keep it."
It's not for everyone. Very heavy and sweet, you can almost taste the chocolate note (the praline is very cacao-ish). It might also give you a headache, if you smell your arm too much.
Not pricy at all, so damage from a blind buy is not too painful.

Perpetual Collector

@TunyaPe, I have the original Oud Bouquet, before they reformulated it, and I can not guess these two apart. My Shaghaff Oud is an original version as well, so maybe you are testing it with reformulated version of one of these, or even both?

TunyaPe

This was supposed to dupe Lancome Oud Bouquet, but they aren’t even close as this smells very Middle Eastern to me. If you want a lighter version of this, try Sheikh Al Shuyukh instead of Resala or Oud Mood. Plus, it can’t be a dupe for Resala because it was released 2 years prior.. and Resala is much more gourmand/dark chocolaty and less Middle Eastern oriented, even if the oud is prominent.

Hamza_Chaudry03

A sweet monster. All I can say haha

sapporo

Well where to start… Shaghaf Oud is a fragrance that has many contradictory reviews on fragrantica, and before I blind bought this I was a little worried.

I had a customer, who smelled so amazing that I had to ask what he’s wearing. To my unpleasant surprise, it was One Million Elixir by Paco Rabanne. I was dissapointed, not in the smell, but that the amazing fragrance I have been raving about, is that ugly gold brick with bad rep. So, I was searching a similar fragrance, rose and smoky vanilla, same like elixir.

THIS IS THE DUPE! Or better said, elixir is a dupe of this fragrance. It smells exactly like it! I’m really surprised no one mentioned this on here.

A lot of people say it is a beast, strong and harsh fragrance - I don’t see it? Longevity is very mediocre, it disappears after 30 minutes to be honest… But the smell is amazing. Arabic, rosy, oudy, exactly what I smelled on my holiday in Dubai.

If we could divide men into sweet boys and bad boys, this is for a bad boy with a deceiptive sweet face. If you know, you know.

Not an everyday scent, not for office. Evening scent.

Qx.susie

Yes there is oud. People downplay the oud in this..... no, it's there. Especially if you're not a fan of oud like me.

Yes, it's absolutely beastmode. I'm not particularly sensitive to fragrances and I love beast mode, in your face perfumes, and I can only do 2-3 sprays MAX.

More than that, I will get a headache instantly. More than that, you will choke people out and leave a trail of passed out individuals in your wake. More than that and you will continue to smell this for weeks on your skin despite multiple showers 😆

I got the old version with the Arabic writing and it's been sitting for over a year and it's even stronger.

Very beautiful scent, but I only like it after about and hour or two, or 3, when the oud is dissipating and I'm left with a beautiful praline sweetness. Definitely a compliment getter. Definitely only for winter.

I have two bottles and I doubt I'll ever finish them. I might, if I only got the dry down, but the oud is to much for me in the beginning. I'm happy that I get to experience this scent, it's not a staple but I'm definitely happy to have it in my collection.

gabbyg27

Resala dupe! For a cheaper fragrance, the quality and longevity is incredible.

Irb

Beast mode fragrance and a true unisex. It lasts forever on clothes and projection is out of this world. If you enjoy sweet oud fragrances you might like this one. It does have a certain sharpness to it in the opening, but after the dry down it becomes a lot softer and warmer. This was my first arab and a blind buy, but if you know you like oud and sweet fragrances it makes a great winter scent for both man and women!

nicklove

Omg i just got the reformulated one it's weak! Not strong at all...anyone know where i can get the original with the arabic letters? It also gave me a headache just now. I never had this issue with the original one.

x-zee-x

Just got this so will update my review in depth at a later date, for now just sprayed one spray on my wrist & it smells a LOT like oud mood by Lattafa which is cheaper… just a stronger, sharper version. So I’d say if you have that you don’t need this. When people say it’s strong I’d say strong as in intensity, it’s intense like thicc lol but I don’t know about sillage or anything just yet will have to test out more. I will add though, after taking my clothes off (I sprayed my sleeve) I can still smell the fragrance if I put my nose on my wrist. It’s not gourmand at all, just sweet. I pick up a lot of the saffron, definitely a Middle Eastern vibe, the scent just smells very familiar to me, like incense we used to burn, will update with more info soon might have to let it macerate. Can be headache inducing or tickle your nose because of the intensity so would recommend spraying a bit lower on your body.

Also to others referring to this as similar to roses vanille, I don’t see it, this is very heavy, sharp & also smokey, a strong incense scent with some rose towards the end & roses vanille lighter, airy & more wearable, definitely smell the roses & vanilla in that one, super sweet without being a thick heavy scent

Edit: It’s growing on me the longer I wear it, definitely similar dna of oud mood but i think with a few more sprays would definitely be a lot stronger. Maybe I’ll no longer purchase oud mood, we shall see with more wear. Also the videos I’ve seen on this say no more than 3 sprays but I sprayed a few & it doesn’t feel beast mode to me, maybe our ideas of beast mode are different, it’s enough that someone might pick it up on you but it’s not enough to leave a trail wherever you go so I’d probably still overspray but maybe mix with something else as the scent itself is dense.

- after trying oud mood I’d say it’s sweeter than shaghaf & more complex, you can smell more of the notes but the dna is so similar.

Rama Rama

Dear Charmedbymeghan, I came here because yesterday I bought Roses Vanille and since yesterday I kept smelling it and feeling that it is so close to Shaghaf oud ( I have Shaghaf oud) and I am truly surprised that no one in Roses Vanille reviews mentioned how these two are close(maybe there is somebody mentioned that but I didn't see 🤔 even though I have tried to read most of the reviews on Roses Vanille as much as I can) so I decided to visit Shaghaf oud page and what a surprise finding your question 😊 finally I read something suggest similarities between the two scents. They are close, having the same dna to my nose, middle eastern oudi dna. But I find RV sweeter rosier - if that is a word 😂- having more roses. Shaghaf oud less sweet and more woody it's oudier having more oud.i I think Shaghaf oud is a masculine edition of RV. I don't think you need Shaghaf oud unless you're a big fan of oud. But if you are an oud beginner and don't really care about oud, Roses Vanille should be enough for you to get to that area (middle eastern woody oudi area)

Chuneyes

Shaghaf Oud is a very interesting scent, it's intriguing although very strong it dries down to be sweet and pretty. The opening and throughout wearing it what I pick up is the smell of carmex with a rubbery note. Carmex is made with camphor oil which when I googled the scent it gave me a good description of what I smell when wearing this. Although this isn't my favorite scent personally because how strong it is I can see others finding it very pretty. So a very bitter ambery resinous vanilla scent with roses peaking through.

Joey3105

Received Shaghaf Oud and Kenzy a few days ago.
I need some more time with this one especially the first couple of hours. Definitely a smokier, darker and more mature character. The far drydown seems more likeable.
Will let it rest for a few weeks and revisit.

Sammbac

Bought blind after watching Mona Kattan's joint video with Ai the Great " Fragrances to Smell like Arabian Royalty." After reading some of the reviews I was actually afraid to spray it although based on the super cheap price point it wasn't a paralyzing fear. Honestly I don't get the hate. Whats not to love about this fragrance? Sweet Middle-Eastern rose oud. You get the oud and the saffron in the opening, the oud is a little sharp but typical. Five minutes later you have a sugary rose dry down. I don't find it cloying, it doesn't "choke me out" after even 6 or more sprays. The longevity and projection are standard Swiss Arabian above average. Ignore the haters. Unless you don't like Middle Eastern fragrances, in which case why are you buying them? The only down side is that the bottle is a very bright yellow gold that clashes with others on my dresser and the lettering is in English not Arabic which doesn't look as pretty.

BakhoorCatmama

Charmedby: I have Shaghaf oud and Mancera Roses Vanille. I must admit the DNA is quit similar but whereas Roses Vanille is a bit brighter and a powerhouse, Shaghaf is also a powerhouse but the saffron and oud give it a decidedly smokier character. Hope that helps some.

Charmedbymeghan

QUESTION:

Does this smell similar to Zara Rose Gourmand... or Montale Intense Cafe or Mancera Roses Vanille?

I do not need another 85%+ clone to any of those. Lol. Halp plz 🥺🙏

Roeyx

really nice fragrance,
I assume that for some would not like the opening and sillage but I love it
so cheap so worth the chance of blind buy

KimberMoon

This is one of the fragrances I've gotten that has proven that letting a scent rest after initial spray really is a thing. I blind bought it due to hype, not gonna lie. And to say the first spray was disappointing would be a total understatement. It was like I had sprayed a bottle of piss from the most disgusting animalic creature to emerge from the core of the depths of Hades. I don't even exaggerate here. Please believe me. It was putrid. I knew there was no way that this was the fragrance that people are raving about, there is no way that the YT personality who convinced me I needed this could be this mistaken unless they were one of Satan's henchmen, I LOVE HERRRRRR. I placed the bottle out of sight and mind for a month. Okay, now, listen. This perfume is now FUH REEEKING AMAZING. It is sweet, it is chocolaty, it is unique, it is sexy. I am sure it could be layered for an even more interesting scent profile. I can't believe how scrumptious this scent is and how little I paid for it. And it freaking lasts. It will project as much as you are willing to let it, one or two sprays is a noticeable skin scent if you like a more personal scent experience, four sprays will give you a bubble that will get you noticed and more than four if you want to be announced before you arrive. Gosh, this stuff is so pretty. If you don't like it first sniff, PUT IT UP. In a month, you'll have a beautiful gem. Trust.

Off the Brand

Shaghaf Oud is my husband's signature scent. His body chemistry really mellows this out so the spice is warm but not biting and the rose really shines. The oud is less prominent.

When I wear this I get more saffron and oud. I misted one spray of Shaghaf Oud over my natural hair makeup brushes and continue to enjoy the textured scent when I do my makeup.

Blind buy under the advisement of y'all went well.

Very cheap smelling, reminds me of some kind of Axe body spray high school boys spray in the bathroom. Very disappointed

JenAvery

Edit: I’m starting to like this more, I don’t think I gave it enough time on my skin before I sprayed something on top because the initial scent was so off putting. I’m getting more of the sweetness with the spice now after letting it sit.

I purchased this because it was supposed to be close to sweet diamond pink pepper. It has all of the “pepper” and none of the sweetness. I think it’s the saffron? It’s a very sharp metallic smell on me, quite medicinal. I have other perfumes with saffron that I love though? I get zero rose and no praline or vanilla. Just saffron and oud. I have layered it with the sweet diamond pink pepper and it adds to the spice of that perfume, but I can’t use this alone. Sad I don’t get the other notes. It also layers well with Dolce & Gabbana The Only One 2, it cuts down the powdery smell from the violet and adds some spice.

lidor

oud and sweet addictive fragrance.
for the price it’s amazing

Feezyusaini11

This is beast mode perfume. Very strong sillage. Not for everyone. For me its too floral and oriental. The price is very affordable.

nillamoonlight

I'm not very familiar with Oud or saffron fragrances so I'll start there. I bought this blind even after dozens of warnings, but I actually love it. My fragrance collection is full of ambers, gourmands, and wet rose/fresh florals so its no wonder I adore this one. However, I don't really associate this scent with amber, or roses like many mention. It does smell sweet, but not an edible kind of gourmand sweet. It smells to me like a newborn baby, ever so slightly like baby powder/baby products, but very wet, moist, and sticky like honey. Almost like baby's breath (the flower) and a very mature vanilla at the base. When I'm searching for the vanilla note it reminds me of Vanilla 28 by Kayali. All in all, this fragrance is like nothing else in my collection and I don't think it's a safe blind buy bc the reviews are soo different but I adore it.

joeyj0jo

I really enjoy this fragrance. Reminds me of chocolate-covered turkish delight with a warm and cozy depth. Feminine with a masculine edge. If you like rose it's a safe blind buy.

UPDATE: This is my most complimented fragrance by far. I don't think it's the "nicest" fragrance I own scent-wise, but I think its excellent longevity and projection ensure people around me smell it enough to compliment it.

AuraAngelMuse

This is the definition of unisex fragrance in my opinion. The smell itself reminds me of an older man's cologne but it's so sweet and has so much vanilla that I can see women enjoying it too. I smell something metallic when it's first sprayed, which I assume is the saffron, because other perfumes I've had with saffron tend to smell a little odd, like rubber balloons. I've had it on for about an hour and now it smells like an apple pie with lots of cinnamon. I bet this would be amazing in the fall and winter. Because it's so strong, I can see this becoming a scent memory fragrance for a lot of people. Like if you wear it often around Christmas time, I feel like it's the type of scent that will remind you of the holidays every time you smell it. I have the version with English writing, but it's still pretty strong and long lasting for me.

Edit: Now that my nose is more accustomed to this fragrance after a few days, it smells similar to a couple perfumes I've already had in the past. Mariah Carey M and Valentino Donna Born In Roma Yellow Dream. It's like a powdered sugar rose with a hint of cinnamon/nutmeg. It doesn't smell as masculine in the opening to me anymore. The saffron has a metallic woody hit for 5-10 minutes and then after that, I just get sweet, powdery, cinnamon rose and vanilla.

10/12/23:
I'm obsessed with this now. I've gone through like 4 bottles since July because I want everything to smell like this. My clothes, my sheets, my blankets😭 I was using it almost every day and it runs out so quickly for me. I would bathe in Shaghaf Oud if I could. The vanilla is just perfect for me. It's so good and it sticks around forever. I go to bed with it on and wakeup smelling like marshmallows. It's just so yummy and I love it🩷

AlyiaS

Kingskid07

Shaghaf Oud is an exquisite saffron blend that seems to have a touch of nutmeg, but it's not listed. The oud is definitely one of the stars of the show, but it is not off–putting whatsoever. Swiss Arabian deserves more attention in the fragrance community—their products are so finely crafted and such a pleasures to wear. Shaghaf Oud is surely a showcase of such a claim.

perlindvall

Another aroma candle modern perfume. Why would people wear this kind of stuff?

NRG

After spraying this on my skin, I could not understand why the smell seemed known to me. When my husband told me I smelled like a vanilla cake, I remembered why. Shaghaf Oud smells just like Rose Gourmand by Zara which is a sweet-savory-caramelized-vanillic-rosy perfume to my nose. I feel like both perfumes are very similar but there's no tag of RG in "this perfume reminds me of". Don't know if I'm the only person who feels this way, hahaha!

Carlysfx1

Something about Shaghaf Oud reminds me of Agent Provocateur in the pink bottle. It’s that sharp, fresh rose. Shaghaf Oud is pretty. Very chic. My skin really grabs the woody notes and the praline, so it smells like a yummy, creamy oud with just a touch of fresh rose. The sillage is moderate, but that tends to happen for me with any fragrance so I’m not surprised. Surprisingly, it layers deliciously with Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy. Go figure.

Whateverwhocares

It’s got that saffron/rose/oud combo that so many cheapie fragrances go for, particularly in the mid. Very sweet, rich, and densely synthetic vanilla that’s permeated by rubbery rose.

Noxstorm

A beast performer , not for everyone, not a safe blind buy , Creamy rosy middle eastern oud !
Smells like LV Ombre Nomade in a creamier vanillic version . A more playful serious frag :)

tamovicha

I was looking for a sweet rose oud, and got a pretty big sample of this. In the beginning I was ecstatic, it seemed really creamy and woody but now all I smell is canned corn. :/ Is this the canned corn perfume?

Ivkay

I really wanted to like this perfume
I'm a gourmand lover and enjoy sweet scents, but this was just way too cloying
This is the first time a perfume makes me sick to my stomach, I had to give to a family member who actually enjoyed it
More than 2 sprays is definitely overkill
Longevity, projection and sillage are beast mode on this But RUN if you're sensitive to strong scents

Lemskii900

One of the best blind buy i made. Beautiful rose-oud-vanilla combo. Super long lasting and projects like craaaaaazy !!!

JessiePooh

I just got this beauty and baby she’s a beast! The initial spray is all oud, the middle is chocolate and candied rose. Once it completely dries down i get only creamy chocolate and a touch of Oud, which I love. A couple of squirts of this is enough, especially if worn in warmer months. I used it for the first time tonight and My husband kissed my hand and said that I smelled really good. I’m curious to see how this scent will develop over time. I’ve only had it for a couple of days and it’s still so nice, in a month it should be really good. By fall, it should be even better. If you’re looking for an oud scent to add to your collection, this is it. Sweet, woody, jammy rose, and chocolate. Similar scents you can try are Oud Vanille by Frank Olivier and Choco musk by Al-rehab.

This scent exudes grown, seductive, sexy, bold, unique, and luxurious! Try it!

Ezphi

Smells like bold vanilla with a touch of rose and chocolate. This shit fucking lasts too lol I can undoubtedly say that this is by far the strongest fragrance that I have ever and probably will ever come across in my fragrance journey. Think max level longevity, projection and sillage! No more than 3 sprays or else you genuinely might choke someone out. I don't fuck with the dry down because the praline is too cloying and it lasts for days on clothing, so I gifted this to my sister.

marko.refael

So...i get the version that toned down for the non arabic countries or something....the version that on the bottle rights in english.....this and franck olivier oud vanilla has the same effect ...in the air its vanilla cookies and jamy candied rose and its crazy good if you like this kind of scent very unisex to my nose.
If you get close to the scent its leathery oriental oud a bathroom oud but blended in such a good way that its complimenting the rose vanilla combo
One thing to note when you smell up close is some metallic note that is not good but only when smelling close . ..the oud is way way at the back...well...a very good blind buy to me...enjoy.

MilkyFruits

Ok AderTitsoff, you convinced me!

AderTitsoff

As soon as I walked into this shop, I thought I heard someone calling my name. Turns out, it was this fragrance. As I approaches Shaghaf Oud Swiss Arabian, it began to whisper to me in almost an angelic and godly voice. I picked up the bottle and immediately noticed the sophistication that wasn’t just put into the fragrance, but as well as the bottle. It gracefully caressed my hand and replenished my palms with the scent if utter holiness.

You wake up in your favorite mega mansion with a beautiful woman or man by your side. You walk down the red and gold velvet stairs that take you down from your enormous silk sheeted bed and onto your silk carpet along with your heated floors. The hunger that follows with waking up strikes and your stomach forces you to stride to the kitchen to make yourself breakfast. However, you are too tired from the previous night to make it down the stairs, but then you remember your many maids who are both cleaning and cooking your favorite breakfast. You remember how amazing your life is as you delightedly saunter down your warm and silky steps. The vast window that accompanies this majestic staircase shows the most beautiful sunrise you have ever gazed upon. With colors of a warm and vibrant magenta complemented by the glow of pink that strides across the sky and through the clouds just over that one distant mountain that has no detail to the eye besides the outline it creates. You then arrive upon breakfast and donate millions of dollars to well respected and crafted charities that make lives better. You are the happiest person alive with endless potential and freedom. This is Shaghaf Oud Swiss Arabian.

leciel

Bright, sharp, and sweet. In the bottle it reeks of smoke, metal, and alcohol, but when sprayed on skin, let it sit for a little bit: then it becomes a sugary blend of cream, butter, chocolate, and delight. Its scent is reminiscent of a superior, powerful, and bitter nutella, almost-- it reminds me of the character Othello. Very luxurious and strong, projects well and one spray on my wrist lasts a generous amount of time. When some of its residual rubs onto my clothes I can still smell it three days after. It leaves a very clear trail wherever I go and it gets me many compliments throughout the day! I recommend this if you are looking for something long-lasting and strong for a good price, or if you want to smell like a praline truffle. I do not recommend this scent or those who dislike gourmand scents or have more delicate noses.

whiskywisteria

This one has sat on my shelf for months. Every few weeks I spray it to see if I can tolerate it. Its got this addictive quality. But its so strong and unique. Tonight wearing it, like magic I got wafts of chocolate and spice. Like heavenly chocolate creamy delicious ice cream. But only from a distance. If I put my wrist to my nose it's too much again. I'll keep on trying till I'm brave enough to wear.

calypsoorangeblossom

Update: it has been a whole day and I can not stand the smell of this. It became too cloying and quite annoying since it is so scandalous. I still think that this is not blind buy safe, it is just too much for me personally.

calypsoorangeblossom

Okay, upon first sniff out of the box, it leaned towards an old lady scent. Now I do not mind this, but it was not what I was expecting. This is my first Oud perfume so I was excited to try it out, especially since it is considered a gourmand leaning scent. Nevertheless, I sprayed it on myself and it was a completely different experience than from just the bottle. On me, it smells very rose-jammy with a smoky base. I walked outside to ask my mom to tell me what she thinks and as I walked towards she said, "Oh I can smell you from here!" and she was about 3 ft away! I was impressed.

Winter and night fragrance for sure.

This scent is very, very unique-- and that is what I wanted. To me, this is a smoky scent first, and then sweet. I think the combination of the Oud and rose is very dominant and rich. On my skin, I did not notice the praline at all. To my nose this is like a Middle Eastern Version of Givenchy L'indertidt Rouge in the dry down.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND BLIND BUYING! Whatever you think this smells like, it most likely won't smell like that vision.

I recommend this fragrance to: Oud and rose lovers, perfume collectors who want to try something new and unique, and for someone who wants a bang for their buck. I got this for just $28 so I am not mad at the performance and scent. This is also again, not a typical crowd pleasing scent in basic settings like an office. However, I feel so powerful and like a girl boss when I have this on!

7.5/10

Andy&Andy

Amazing, very beautiful sweet oriental parfum. The sweetness like thin fabric, embrace you and.. and strangles you, yes. I can not live whithout ice cream and other sweets, but this parfum too much sweet even for me. Anyway, it's magnificent oriental beauty and if you want "to kill someone with sweetness", this one is 100% for you.

awhlars

truly an addictive perfume! i can’t stop sniffing my hand. it’s not just gourmand praline and rose, which i expected after the reviews. it’s so interesting and complex. i’m positively surprised! very strong tho and kinda plasticky. be careful with this!

MabelleBeauty

Now this one was a successful blind buy! A beautiful sweet Oud Rose fragrance. I get a lot of saffron and praline. Its very sensual and luxurious. Love to wear this for date nights.

Chrisandra

I own quite a few Arabian frags and this one is probably my favorite, along with Sheikh al Shuyuk Luxe edition. This is not for the faint at heart, it is not a subtle/discreet fragrance. It is bold, interesting, oud-ey and very gourmand while very long lasting. The price went up (almost double) since I bought mine at a special price (the equivalent of aprox. 20 euro) because more and more people found out about it. Fabulous scent, I adore it! It performs best in cold(er) weather, but I feel that it can be worn during the day and evening as well.(BTW I am referring to the original fragrance, as I have bought my bottle sometime in 2018 or 2019. Sadly, I heard it has been reformulated since then).

Wael'Sniffing

Gem scent! So addictive and such a high quality oud here. Bang for bucks!

Nocciola23

This is a strong scent, no doubt about it. Is heavy on oud which I love, but it also has a really thick, syrupy vanilla note that reminds me of Roses Vanille by Mancera/Intense Cafe by Montale.
The combination of notes is clever and well blended. It's spicy, woody and also sweet at the same time.

I'm not sure I would buy a full bottle though. There's something in this scent that comes off a bit like body odour in the dry down. It's a very sweaty/musky/animalic accord that wouldn't be out of place on a man's shirt after a big night out.

It's unisex, but to me the drydown would work better on a man.

cakeee

This was a blind buy for me that I despised upon receiving. It was harsh, plasticky, and metallic But I gave it some time and after a week of settling I started to like it, and now after a month or so it's one of my favorite scents. Initial spritz can be overwhelming - I spray it at least an hour before going out. But the dry down is lovely warm vanilla with nice spice. Not too sweet and lasts forever. I wear this all the time and receive a ton of compliments. Just wish the bottle wasn't so ugly!

enpointe

I initially only "liked" this perfume rather than "love" because it caught me off guard by how strong it is. I made the mistake of wearing (only 2 spritzes) this to an daytime, indoor fall event. I was choking myself all afternoon. I was like, I could never wear this again. Then I tried it a few more times during winter, night events (to the theater, NYE), and fell in love with it.

I hope you like oud because it is in the top and middle notes, so it lasts forever. Once it dries down, however, you are left with a powdery, vanilla, rose scent. It's so different than the opening and heart notes, it feels like a different fragrance all together. 2 for the price of 1!

And I cannot emphasize how much this scent lingers. I sprayed it on the back collar of a jacket for NYE. The next time I picked up the blazer was in March and I could still get whiffs of it. Definitely not for the light of heart and skin scent girlies. This one is a beast and has a definite place in my collection

Chanel de Lanvin

I easily wear this perfume and am not the only one who appreciates its quality.
luckily we don't all have that smell of chocolate vomit.....
It becomes laughable to see the reactions that are negative on certain perfumes with comparisons worthy of appearing in a book of psychological treatment. 😂

alystrash

dude for $20 this is crazy. a girl from my class always smelled sooo good and i finally asked her what it was and she told me that she wore this. it smelled so wonderful on her but for some reason it pulls much sweeter on me. the opening is a blast of sharp oud but it dries down into a mellow vanilla-rose. literally one spray is good to last you 5-6hr. DO NOT overspray!! it will kill someone. this is not blind buy safe, if you like subtle, sweet scents then this is not for you. i literally didn’t wear this for months because i was afraid of it lol. it’s def not an everyday scent for me but i am glad i have it in my collection.

Lidell

A gorgeous oriental beast-princess.
After a beautiful, oily, classic rose-oud-saffron opening, Shaghaf Oud dries down to a bag of vanille sugar with a hint of dry, smoked oud and a half drop of saffron. 93% gourmand sweets, 7% nuances that are enough to make it feel expensive.
I think this will make a wickedly delicious goth party scent.

MatchaCat

Creamy praline with plasticky oud. In the drydown, the plastic smell is not as strong but remains subtly in the background. That plastic note is not pleasant for me. If this had a more smoky and chocolatey oud, it would be perfect.

Inara Oud is very similar but has a sweeter candy-like vanilla. Shaghaf Oud is more creamy and sugary. Shaghaf Oud Aswad is darker and more medicinal. All have that plastic note.

I got my sample in one of those little Swiss Arabian black boxes with 5 vials from shop.sa-usa.com (Maison D'Orient).

Smell: 6 out of 10
Longevity: 8 out of 10

For reference, I'm female.

Eriel72

I have shagaf oud on my left wrist and oud mood on my right. DNA wise I would say 90% the same. Shagaf is definitely more sweet, you smell that praline, you smell the rose and vanilla with that tiny bit of spice and oud.

Oud mood I find more spicy, smokey and it's not as sweet. Unisex but I would say leans more masculine. If you are a girly girly perfume lover and like sweeter perfumes and want to try oud as a beginner it say go for Shaghaf first as in my opinion, even tho it's unisex it leans more feminine. Try and get a sample if possible, won't recommend blind buying.

I've layered Shagaf with Ragba yesterday, that sweet vanilla combination was a better mix for me personally but I'm still new to oud fragrances.

Would I buy it again, most likely no, BUT it's very nice just not madly in love. Will keep on trying and experimenting with both, sure it will grow more on me. Overall a solid 7/10 for now.

As most people says, longevity and projection is great.

Bondno9girl

Comparable to oud bouquet which is still on lancomes website and still being sold. People keep saying its discontinued and idk why. I bought it Nov 2022 from the lancome website 50% off so I couldn't pass it up. Anyways yes shagaf oud is very conparable if you want the same vibe. Obviously a more expensive perfume is going to be smoother. You can't compare apples to oranges in the blend department. But I will tell you shagaf is really good and I am so happy to have both because oud bouquet is over $200 a bottle.

Ayshaa

This perfume is indeed the "beast" that many people claim it to be. It is a floral gourmand scent; you can definitely smell the praline. If I spray it on my pillow or on my prayer mat, I can smell it several hours later and even the next day. However, I always approach this perfume with some trepidation when it comes to applying it on myself....because it's very, very strong. As time passes, it calms down to a pretty and smoky floral scent. But immediately upon spraying it's strong. If you bring your nose close to the atomizer (even without spraying) ..it smells strong. Less is more when it comes to spraying this perfume; 2-3 (even just 2) is more than enough. You can even try spraying Shaghaf Oud as a base perfume and then layering it with a lighter perfume on top.

Blind bought on Amazon after comparing reviews to Lancome Oud Bouquet. I was more than skeptical as I waited for its arrival in the mail, and nearly cringed as I spritzed myself for the first time. The metallic quality absolutely came through - but so did the beautiful, sweet and non-animalic oud. Yes, it's the same oud as in MFK Oud Satin Mood and JM Velvet Rose & Oud. I waited for the proverbial shoe to drop, for something awful, screechy and cheap to come through. But it never did. Oh, goodness gracious, this something otherworldly. 10/10

UPDATE: The screech showed up. Full bottle available for swap

vbs221

Way, way, way, way too strong. Just leaving the tester strip in my car for an hour made my whole car smell like Shaghaf Oud. I hope you don’t put anything more than 1 spray when wearing this. It’s so strong I can’t even imagine wearing it. Glad I sampled first.

lmnsvgz

Why is oud in cheaper fragrances so much better than in expensive ones? I don't think this is an oud-prominent fragrance, I don't smell much praline either. It smells like rose, very jammy rose, very sweet and indulgent. There is a candy aspect to it, there is the artifical element as everyone else has already mentioned, but this is a very good scent.

PerfumeGang

I bought this fragrance 2 years ago on my birthday. It was my first middle eastern perfume. I remember I sprayed it in the train station on a cold evening and the first note I detected was the sweet Praline, saffron and then oud. I felt so confident wearing this because the people around me were keep sniffing me. It reminded me of Persian nabat or sweet.
The second time I used it I couldn’t smell it at all I don’t know if I went nose blind or what but it’s kinda strong and I think it lasts longer on cotton shawl or a coat. Overall I am picky with fragrances in general so I would rate 3 out of 5 because the projection wasn’t huge on me.

Darokes85

I’ve been looking for so long for a Rose, Oud & Vanilla combo that fits my personal sensibility and I haven’t had much luck. I’ve tried Oud Bouquet, Oud Satin Mood, Rose d’Arabie, Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud and so many more that just didn’t work! I’d always find them to be either too cloying, too suffocating, too screechy, unpleasant and/or skanky, or unbalanced. Some are too heavy on the Rose, others the oud, some too incense-y/smoky, some too sweet etc, etc… I can go on and on. This cheapie though, is finally EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. Perfect in every way. The Rose, Oud and Vanilla/Praline is balanced beautifully. No one note sticks out more than the others, just a beautiful, balanced and SMOOTH blend of floral, woody, creamy deliciousness. It’s not too cloyingly sweet, the oud isn’t skanky or challenging, and it’s perfectly unisex. THEE best, rose and oud DNA on the market… hands down.

I have an assortment of expensive niche fragrances that I love but this little gem is one of my most complimented. Women and men alike stop me to inquire what Im wearing all time. It never fails. Im guaranteed a compliment with every wear. Highly recommended!!

TheWoodman

A no brainer if on a budget and wish to smell exclusive, especially in a sauvage dominated male environment. I like to buy cheaper frags if just to see if they really can be as good as the socials say. In this case I’d say it is. Gets better if left for at least 6-8 months IMO. One that will get you smelling the area you sprayed it on.
Given the choice, much prefer TF BV but then, we cannot compare like for like here

Emma_C

I agree with everything the below comment says. Great longevity and high end of middle projection. Although my friend said it's too strong for her, personally I think this is not strong enough for me - really interesting how different our perceptions are, considering she herself is a fragrance lover and bathes herself in Montale!

Scent wise...guys hear me out. I have a decant of Oud Bouquet (2016 version) and while I loved the oud/rose sweet scent of it, I couldn't get over this medicinal and screechy note, especially in the opening. It simply smelled like hospital. I was so disappointed because I looked forward to loving it. A friend of mine, that happened to be there at the time, thought the exact same thing and had to wash it off. However, this one here, made in June 2022, has all the goodness without the sharp and medicinal opening. I am absolutely mind blown! To me, this smells way better than the original! Also worth mentioning that while it is unisex, it does lean a bit more feminine, which I personally like.

TL;DR - Smells better than the original, good performance and longevity, and insanely great value.
This is not a safe blind buy because as you can see, the perception of this fragrance varies greatly.

coffeebean83

Okay, so I have the newer version in english. Not sure if they've changed the formula or not but my bottle isn't quite as strong a scent as others have alluded to. I'd say it's in the middle ground arena. Still strong enough though. And it last all day so no problem there. Projection is on the strong end of moderate. Wearable fall/winter/spring imo. Summer might be a smidge too hot for it. As far as the scent, I don't smell any notes that strand out hugely......all seem well blended together. It's equal parts saffron/rose/oud with sweet chocolaty praline dancing just behind them. It's nice alone and really wonderful mixed with others. Especially rose fragrances that enhance it. Beautiful scent. Would get again. :)

Zactel

Going back to this fragrance, this is basically a clone of lancome oud bouquet but made even stronger. The difference in the original is that the original is a lot smoother and more tame than this one and you can tell it was better blended. The opening of this one is very screechy and very very loud. The original lancome has been discontinued, so at least this one exists and it costs very little. The dry down of shagaf oud is very good and worth the wait. It does lean more on the feminine side, but since it is so heavy it can also be worn by confident men.

Also should you buy the original? Honestly it depends on how much you really love the scent, but it will just go up in cost since it got discontinued, this one is basically a life saver for those who fell in love with the scent but don’t wanna pay 200$+ Take it as you will this scent is basically a western interpretation of what a sweet oud scent is.

Nurmaran

I purchased this because of all the claims of it being a good Lancome Oud Bouquet dupe. And I must say it is. I sprayed both side by side and the only difference is LOB is smoother. Initially Shahhaf Oud has a "metallic " smell l, imo, but after sitting a couple of months I no longer get that. I wear this when I want to spare my LOB. Both are BEAUTIFUL. I wore this today and loved the buttery whiffs I keep getting. Yes, I said "getting," I applied this beast 14 hours ago, showered, and I can still faintly smell it. Worth EVERY penny I paid for it. If you're a fan of LOB, GET this! They are 90% identical. This is unisex, but leans feminine to me. Definitely for cold/cool weather. It's a 9/10 for me.

Munro Bagger

This is a brilliant perfume 💜
It's a warm, woody scent on me, drying down to a gorgeous, smokey vanilla with hints of cedar.
It has all the notes I crave in a perfume - in fact, I'd go as far as to say it pretty much ticks all boxes for me. It's everything I've looked for in higher end perfumes minus the disappointing performance for this baby lasts and lasts!
It projects well but I wouldn't describe it as a 'beast'! It's ever present - I can smell it all day long from only a few sprays.
It layers beautifully with other perfumes and actually enhances their performance imho.
Brilliant value for money at the price point - I've spent much, much more on other brands and been left disappointed with performance or missing notes.
This fills me with joy - worn alone or layered - it's great!

Renfragrantica

Smells like sweet insect poison. Not my cup of tea.

daisybrown

leather jacket, rum raisin, motorcycle, wet wipes, dried roses, smoke in a dark alley

julianne.dubois

Lots of saffron. Reminds me a lot of a perfume called "Shmokh El Malik" or "Pride of the King" that I picked up at an Egyptian perfume counter. I get zero rose ,for now anyway. Saffron, kinda creamy,warm..slight eggnog or nutmeg-ish. Literally just unboxed it so maybe it will get better for me. For now since it reminds me of something I've had before and am kinda "over". I will keep wearing it for a while tho.

I love this perfume! After seeing this float around & Arab perfumes on Tiktok, I had gotten it on Ebay for 30$.

When I first smelled it, I didn't like it. It smelled like mold & musk to me at first, but when I sprayed it on my skin, the scent started to grown on me. This is not blind buy safe however, I would recommend smelling, or getting a sample before buying.

It is sweet, but not too sweet to the point where it'll give you a headache, the oud however is VERY strong & may give you a headache. I love this perfume though, it lasts 24 HOURS & radiates like CRAZY!

al-lewinsky

You can't help but feel utterly, deliciously glorious while wearing this. The world is your oyster. This smells like a really lovely night of getting wined and dined, and then finishing the night off in a marbled tub with a rose petal bath and a box of fine chocolates at your arsenal. Sentiments aside, this is primarily a rose with an undercurrent of creamy vanilla and praline. And when it comes to the oud, it's actually pretty conservative in that sense (compared to other oud frags I've grown up around) so, I think it's fair game to spray yourself into a fragrance shower of this lol. The performance on this is pretty good for what you're paying - not anything major but, again, for this price? It's great. I wish I could wear this all the time, but it's not office safe; it's too much of an attention grabber. Which is actually up my alley in terms of taste, but it would be a little too much in that kind of environment.

Enar_smells_good

This is lovely! I’d say it’s a slightly feminine leaning unisex, but men can pull it off. There is saffron, rose, oud, and something sweet/gourmand, that bit of vanilla and praline. But it isn’t TOO sweet, it’s just right! I kept meaning to try it out but put it off for some reason. It went on sale for a great price and I finally grabbed it. I only wish it had gotten it sooner, this might be one of my favorites. I keep smelling my wrist, it’s addictive and long lasting!

Trizzyluxe

This smells amazing! Performance is beast mode! Imagine the coziness of a hug wrapped up in vanilla. I have gotten compliments every time I wear this. The first time I tried this, it smelled like pure alcohol. The second go around, it opened with vanilla, notes of nutmeg and cardamom. The dry down is still a bit spicy but I would say caramel and a slight hint of Oud. Overall, the price point, packaging, and performance is what I wish I would get out my fragrances $200+. I will keep this in my fragrance wardrobe for the fall/winter months.

Bachi

Shaghaf Oud. Just. Wow! Blind buy. Own MFK OSM lotion and after hearing Loredana from a Fragrant Glance talk about it, I knew I had to have this. To me, it is rich. It is decadent. It is delicious. DELICIOUS! The opening saffron doesn't last long and then it dives right into the vanilla and praline, with oud softly swimming underneath. The scent wraps you up like a soft, oversized, cozy cashmere sweater - keeping you warm on a cold winter night. The dry down is soft, sweet, a praline melting over the stove. SO is a winter /cold weather perfume. It really is smashing and on fleek! IMO, if you like sweet, rich, strong gourmands and oud - you'll like Shaghaf Oud. If, on the other hand, you are new to ouds and don't enjoy deep, sweet scents, you might try something a bit lighter. I bought this together with Sheikh al Shuyukh Luxe and fell in love with both. While they share a common DNA, Shaghaf Oud is deep and warm, Sheikh al Shuyukh is airier and cold. Sheikh has hints of spicy notes (think cinnamon and nutmeg), Shaghaf has praline and vanilla. This is love, love, love for me!

MuscularMan27YO.

This is heavy powdery oud. I can smell the pretty intense rose in the background and that sweet vanilla coming through, a bit metallic maybe. But overall its really powdery to the Nose and very Sharp. It doesnt have that cheap boozy aura around it. I would say this is really good value. Maybe a splitter, not for everyone.

greenteabobaliteice

Smells like musty air in a cough syrup bottle to me. If BR 540 smells like cough syrup to you, skip this. I get the same robitussin-esque smell from shaghaf oud that I do from BR.

Really disappointed this didn't work for my nose. I tried the Inara Oud too and they both smell like cough syrup to me. Just a warning to others who struggle finding sweet fragrances that don't smell like cough syrup. Sad :(

Aneres

Wow this is a bomb in projection and longevity! It is very strong, even with just one little spray, I can feel it on my skin even after taking a shower! And it stays on clothes even after days and days! First time I sprayed it gave me an headache, therefore it's not a blind buy and not for sensitive people! On my skin saffron and praline are predominant, a little flat/simple but consistent, very oriental but if you like more complex fragrances which have an evolution and dance/play of the notes, this is not for you. Definitely I can say this is not a fragrance for formal occasions like the office, It's too strong and It can bother some people. In my case it was a blind buy, I tried it 2 or 3 times but I don't really like the predominance of the saffron mix with praline on my skin, as I feel it too much synthetic and strong and it gaves me a little bit of nausea. My nose can't get used to it.

Zactel

This is a very feminine oud rose sweet fragrance. But in the dry down it becomes more of a unisex scent. But honestly I see this being worn mostly by women. Performance is no slouch at all. Smells good quality even though it is a pretty cheap fragrance. Ladies do not overspray this, this is not the most mass appealing scent out there like a chanel eau tendre or a miss dior fragrance. If you overspray you will be annoying, and this is not suitable for the office, it draws too much attention and this one projects a lot.

snowychloe

I blind bought because of the hype and all the notes sound good. My nose didn't agree - I only get sweet and nutty from this. But hear me out... it smells like Indian aunties, which gives me an outdated impression (think 'grandma' smells). I much prefer the more youthful Inara or a more intense rose in Sehr Al Sheila to get my oud fix.

Priteshchhajed369

BTW I just went to the Negative reviews section of Fragrantica to see what people didn't liked about this frangrace...And I saw a common problem there... is ITS SO STRONG...For me it's plus plus I love fragrances that projects like hell... but If you are someone who is not comfortable with strong fragnces or doesn't like strong gourmond fragrances in general OR you are new to fragrance world or may be never smelled the real oud....stay away from this thing....This is just the caution find my review below Why I love it and Why you should buy it....I was soo curious to see why people hate such beautiful fragrances Yess I know everybody has different taste but some scent profiles has mass appeling vibe...and one of which is rose oud combos but most of the perfumes that uses those ingredients are always strongest projecting ones and for some people that's the biggest problem... now I get why people in general described this scent as they get medicinal vibe, strong spicy vibe or Headache Indusing vibe....and so on

CONCLUSION:-

WHO SHOULD NOT BUY THIS:-
1.If you hate strong Gourmand fragrances and in gereal fragrances that contains oud stay away from this
2. If you are new to fragrance world and thinking to buy it coz of the hype stay away from this..try it first by decanting if you like it or not
3. If you are someone who doesn't care about notes and projection but wanted to buy something that get's good compliment's and saw hype on youtubers raving about compliment factor of this and thinking to buy a easy peezy regular fragrance stay away from this... this is not your regular fragrance... this fragrance speaks and some people will hate you coz of the scent you are bringing with you that doesn't suits to your personality at all

WHO SHOULD BUY THIS:-
1. If you are lover of oud rose combos and oud in general like me.... go for it :)
2. If you want something that has large projection that can fill the room....go for it:)
3. If you are fraghead and tried some entry level oud fragrances before and want to explore more and this is the entry level oud fragrance BTW... go for it:)
4. If you are a collector and want to add someting value for money thing in your collection..... go for it:)
5. If you want a complimet magnet that really matches with your personality...go for it:)...I saw greatest reactions from men and women for this
that's it have a great life ahead :)

Priteshchhajed369

I really love oud rose combo... and this by far is my favorite, absolute steal at this price point and performs reallly great..this is in my top 5 for life list.... And this is also compared with Arabian oud Resala and I have a decant of that.... but that one has the leather in the base it really messes with other ingredients and comes out really strong and on the other had SO is well balanced it has a proper amount of sweetness and doesn't pops out a particular note.

Dee97

This is EXTREMELY strong. I sprayed this on my wrist and I could still smell it on my coat weeks after. I don’t like the smell though. Not only is it overpowering, but the spiciness mixed with the sweetness is weird in this one, it’s not smooth at all. And It’s not even a nice spicy, it’s like kitchen spices. It’s a no from me.

Droopy_draws

This is nuclear.. soooooooo strong
If you like it loud and you like those notes, at this price it's a no Brainer

afs_09

Looking at the ingredients and the price, I thought this scent was worth to be tried. I don't know what to think tho, as soon as I put it on my arm, I didn't like it because it reminded me of soap, smoke and horrible medicines. However, with a little bit of time, you can smell the sweet note and it becomes more pleasant. Honestly, I think there are better options out there but this is completely up to you. Maybe it's the oud note that makes it weird, I honestly don't know what to think. Be aware that it's really strong and the first time I put it on, my boyfriend was nauseated.

Irishblondgourmand

This is such a sexy delicious scent, I put it on and my husband started sniffing the air in delight. It's a little like a Jo malone oud heavy perfume but with added layers and some spice. It really projects and I'm currently enveloped in a blanket of sweet warm spicy delight. Love it !

Naravii

I have a bottle with English text, I guess it’s reformulated. Lasts maybe 4-5 hours on my skin and about 6-7 hours on clothes. Not a beast mode fragrance but still a good performer. Has pretty good projection for about an hour or two. I have Shaghaf Oud Abyad (white bottle) with the Arabic text and it’s a beast of a performer.

Scent is very delicious. The praline and vanilla give it a sweet gourmand scent and the oud is very smooth. I don’t get too much rose.

Overall I would rate this 7/10
Definitely worth it for the price.

TexasOrangeBlossom

Edit: One spray, maybe two is all you need. I knew that going in and I’ve never oversprayed. Definitely my favorite rose oud; especially for the price.

I hesitated for years because so many people said it smelled slightly masculine, and I already have several in the “reminds me of” list including JM Velvet Rose and Oud. Did I really need another? No, but I requested it as a gift. I’m happy to have it (despite the slightly tacky bottle) and see myself using it often. My husband and I both think we like it more than Velvet Rose and Oud. I don’t have Oud Bouquet. Now I feel like I’ve missed out on that.
Ok, back to Shaghaf Oud. I get mostly vanilla and sweet oud, only a touch floral. Warm, sexy, and inviting. Not masculine on me. I’ve smelled “ladies fragrances” that smell more masculine than this. Haven’t tested it on my husband yet, but I suspect it will smell more manly on him. So ladies, do not be afraid of this. I love it!

Ukuleleloki94

Perfect use and balance of the femanine floral notes blending into that warm masculine spice you usually find with Arabian fragrances. Lasts all day easily, has a rock solid cap and a great atomiser. I'd say this is more on the masculine side of unisex. Certainly not a "cheap" fragrance, defo recommend buying!!!

dimepeace

I have the bottle with the English text on it and it's still very long lasting and potent. A lot more potent than many niche/more expensive perfumes I own. A classic. To me this is very sexy on a man.

SNBM

For me ::
Oud and oud and only oud ,nothing but the only oud !!!

Biocactuse

Other rose-ud perfumes such as MFK oud satin and Amouage lyric were a bit harsh for me. The praline and vanilla oud in this soften it very nicely and make it more feminine. I really like this.

Mona708

This reminds me of a woodier and boozier version of Organza Indecence. There is a generous amount of oud in here, but it’s not the fecal barnyard oud. It’s very strong and has great sillage, so you’ll only need a few sprays to last all day. This is perfect for cold weather; I can see both the oud and the sweeter notes being too cloying in summer.

Labellalena

SHAGHAF OUD by SWISS ARABIAN

1. Middles Eastern vibe (oud centric): Yes. Gorilla Glue strength.

SMELL: Hot chocolate in a tin mug. Mochachino with a pump of Monin rose syrup. Hazlenut torte with Nilla Wafer crust.

TOUCH: Cashmere. Pashmina. Brushed wool. Velvet rollers that pick up dog/cat fur. Persian rug.

Value/price: 9/10

This fragrance is like a bratty child going through the terrible twos or the teenage years that eventually grows out of the phase. Quite sharp, oud heavy, and metallic at the start. If given 3 plus hours, it tires itself out from the tantrum it is throwing and settles down for a cozy nap. Your nerves might be rattled by the fragrance up front, but given time and patience it matures into a loving hug. If you plan on wearing this out, two things to keep in mind; spray at least 2 to 3 hours before doing so and consider not wearing it to a food centered event. The vanilla and Oud will overpower whatever is on your plate. Much like burning a vanilla candle as a centerpiece while eating Curry or the like.

I describe fragrances in all five senses❤️

smellsbells

punches way above its pricepoint and is a great scent

Bgraber1

It starts out a bit floral and sweet and leans vey Feminine IMO but after the 1st couple hours of that Safron, rose oud combo is when the best this Cologne has to offer comes forth. Its that praline argwood and vanilla dry down. So very scrumptious!

cunt.dracula

There's nothing sweet about this lol It's a very masculine woody scent. It's majority CEDAR and that is overwhelming the fragrance. I tried layering this with other scents like Choco Musk and Shaghaf Oud completely masked it no matter how many times I sprayed. Disappointing blind buy, I will be returning.

jamesdonovanis

A few words to describe this scent.
Unique, Cloying headache inducing,
At first I thought wow but then it smelt pungent and I needed to wipe off fast which took ages as this stuff sticks like mud.
It's definitely not blind buy worthy.

suzanne_ronald

Imagine you are in Marrakesh's Jamal F'naa Square, watching the musicians and snake charmers when a shopkeeper on the periphery invites you in for tea with honey and cake. On the tea service is a caramel and chocolate mousse cake, garnished with roses to one side. Even though you know you know this is a prelude to bartering, you are charmed and intoxicated by the warmth and incensed sweetness of the welcome inside this tiny fabric lined booth. Creamy praline and vanilla smothering a rose and oud blend par excellence goes on for days and days in this beauty!

Comparison to Sheikh Al Shuyuk Lattafa:
Sheikh is more of a sheer version of Shaghef Oud, and the saffron note is a little more prominent. Sheikh has that vanillic sweetness but it has more of an airiness to it. With it's beast mode performance, Shaghaf Oud has a richness and heaviness which make it trickier to wear in summer.

Comparison to Oud Vanille Franck Olivier:
On a sliding scale of sheer to heavy where Sheikh Al Shuyuk is on the sheer end and Shaghef Oud is on the heavy end, Oud Vanille is in between but quite a bit closer to Sheikh Al Shuyuk. However, after the opening, Oud Vanille changes lanes and dries down differently - more aligned with the dry-downs of Intense Cafe Montale & Crystal Rose Swiss Arabian.

Comparison to Oud Mood Lattafa:
These two are about 80% similar IMO, however, Shaghaf Oud is richer. While both are unisex, Oud Mood leans very slightly masculine and the floral notes and pimento give it an aromatic touch.

Comparison to Opulent Oud Lattafa:
Although people have compared these I find them quite different. Opulent Oud leans more to the rose-oud combo along the lines of Portrait of a Lady, or Santal Royal Guerlain, Shaghaf Oud is more about the praline-oud than the rose-oud.

Comparison to Aoud Vanille Mancera:
Although these have been compared I find them very different. Where Aoud Vanille starts out very oud-wood heavy but drys down to a beautiful and spicy Madagascar vanilla. Both are beast mode performers but Shaghaf Oud is more linear and consistently delivers that special oud-praline blend all the way through.

Bottom Line:
Shaghaf Oud Swiss Arabian is the Monarch of this scent profile, IMO. I will always want this one in my collection.

faraox

Unfortunately this is the worst blind buy. This smell doesn’t even smell good. It smells like insecticide for mosquitoes.

Dylannn

So I’ve been looking for a sweet, spicy unisex gourmand and I think this is it. To be honest when I first sprayed this one, I wasn’t sure if I liked where it was going. Once it settles and dries down (the opening can be a little intense and quite masculine) it becomes this super sweet, creamy, smokey gourmand that is totally unisex and I love it. Super strong, so you can’t beat it for the price. Not sure why there are people saying it’s become weaker since a re formulation.. as mines a newer batch and it’s probably one of my strongest perfumes.

I like to push the boundaries of what scent I can wear in which season.. but this would be very offensive to people around you if you’re not careful and you’re wearing it in summer.

Such a unique scent that I’ll be stocking up on. The perfect winter scent for men and women.

St4rr

I like this fragrance, however I feel that no matter what I do it does not last on me. I used it in lotions, warmed it up on my skin, sprayed on pulse points, tried it in my hair etc but nothing seemed to work. I was convinced I was going nose-blind however even my boyfriend said he didn’t smell it on me after only about an hour of wearing it. The room smelled more like the fragrance than I did, so I’ve continued to spray it on our upholstery and curtains for an elegant, sweet regal vibe that lasts and lasts. Overall good scent, but for the notes I feel is too sweet and doesn’t allow them to really shine.

Candybaby5797

I’m so disappointed with this considering how much love I’ve seen for it on social media. I may be immature but it’s far too grown and musky for me. I don’t really get the vanilla note that many mention. I also get a little bit of a plastic scent from this….I don’t know, it’s really not the ideal scent for me and I’m not sure how comfortable I’d be wearing it out the house. It’s not terrible but it’s definitely an acquired taste

Brittany1122

I’ve been wanting to dapple into some ouds but wasn’t sure where to start. I’m not even sure I would like a more typical oud other than this one. Anyway, I saw rave reviews about Lancôme oud bouquet but wasn’t willing to splurge and also I’ve read its d/c. I stumbled on this and read its very similar. Some of the reviews had me worried. I was afraid this was going to be awful. I would still love to smell oud bouquet but I am so glad I took a chance on shaghaf! I really like this. I love gourmand perfumes and this is nice! Definitely don’t need a lot of sprays and it was very affordable for a large bottle. It’s sweet and spicy-ish. I feel like I’m having a hard time pulling out the rose but rose isn’t typically a scent I gravitate to so maybe I need a little more practice/need to explore more of them to be able to pick it out better. There are times I think I smell I MIGHT rose and maybe now I’m finally realizing what people say when they say “it’s a jammy rose” lol. Idk!? The rose-gourmand vibes are what drew me to both this and oud bouquet. Makes me want to explore both rose and other oud perfumes. Overall this has really made me very happy! I’ll likely always keep this in my rotation

tiffaniday81

This is a very nice scent. Sweet, oudy, and with the right blend of rose and vanilla. If this is a blind buy, do your research on price and find the lowest price point.

If you are a vanilla gourmand lover, this is for you and a nice addition to your collection. I allowed mine to sit for about a month before trying again.

mangopine

Amazing fragrance for colder months! Smells like vanilla and oud with the right amount rose, and the projection and sillage on me are insanely good!

DBlack47

This is a beautiful unisex fragrance. Oud/rose/vanilla combination done right from start to finish. Initial saffron and rose blast, settling quickly to rose and Oud and dries down to vanilla, Oud and patchouli, definitely winter evening fragrance.

Lasts forever on my skin (10 hours+), good sillage and moderate projection. Both men and women can wear this comfortably. Smart-casual scent for sure, but guys, don’t expect many compliments on this one.

After reading all of the reviews saying it had enormous projection I bought a bottle of this and at is super weak, no projection and lasts less than half an hour.

I even tried using it as an air freshener and still could barely smell it. Completely useless.

I bought it directly from Swiss Arabian so I don't know what the issue is. Mine was produced in may 2022 and it must be a defective batch.

jgallomajano

The saffron and oud are the most prominent notes in this fragrance which gives it a very dry leathery odor. In the opening spray it reminds me of lipstick, but once that dissipates, I cannot detect anything sweet, different or feminine other than the oud and saffron.

The double oud in the note structure scared me off for so long. Plus, I remember someone in the reviews said this smelled like a spice market, so I closed this case and thought I'd never get it. Until, of course, I spontaneously did and actually fell in love with it. The rose and vanilla are equally as strong as the oud, creating an absolute powerhouse of a fragrance. Shaghaf Oud is way more vanilla-rose dominant than i would ever expect from a perfume that has oud listed twice in it. The oud doesn't smell like old wood either, rather it's rich and smooth wood. Great on it's own but it's perfect for layering too, as it creates a canvas for other rose or vanilla perfumes. Makes them last longer and amplifies the notes.

There is just two things: wear it on your skin and for the love of dear god do not overspray. The beauty of this fragrance lies in 1-2 sprays.

Let's be dramatic for a minute, shall we? I don't think I can live without this perfume. An absolute beast, but in the best, most delicious and sexiest way possible. If I had to have one fall/winter scent, this would be it.

When I want to mix things up, I layer it with Oud Aswad to add a leathery vibe. But it can also be amped up with Kayali Vanilla 28 to bring out even more of that sugary goodness of a drydown.

LaContessina

Yes, it's an almost perfect dupe of Oud Bouquet, amped up on the warm chocolatey side while OB is more rosey and perhaps more elegant.
You must like gourmands to wear this one, and you must love loud, beast mode frags (i do).
This is not for the shy ones, it will get you noticed anywhere, so beware.
I wouldn't call this particularly elegant or classy (there are chypres or irises for that purpose) but I do call it sexy and comforting, in a perhaps cheeky way, buy it makes you feel like a million dollars.

Absolutely perfect for cold nights out (or in) and important occasions, please do not wear this in hot temperatures unless you need to clear a room...... it can be super cloying to others in the heat, while your nose gets only whiffs of an adorable praline oud with a hint of caramel and roses.
Very comforting and giving you a 100% self assured mood.
Lasts forever and a day. Compliments getter.
Guaranteed.

Drfrag

Warm molten pralines. It is better than its sibling in white bottle shagaf oud perfume, but the praline note is overpowering and masking other notes. Very long lasting sweet perfume suitable for winter weather, leaning feminine.

Odi234

I was looking for a vanilla cent for the winter, and i came across this fragrance. The price is very good for the guality. I bought it for around 40$. In the opening my nose picks up a strong rose note and that vanilla sweatness. The oud is not that dominant but you can smell it. Lasted all day on my skin and weeks on my clothes. A powerhouse of a fragrance but you need tk be carefull with it cause it can be too much. 3-4 sprays is the max. For summary for the price, it is a really good fragrance, seductive and gourmand. It can be worn by a women or a man, On a man it can be masculine and sexy.

I was so excited to buy this. I wanted to see if the hype was real surrounding this fragrance… and it is!! The first two tries, I wasn’t sure how much I liked it and now, I’m in love. Sometimes I’ll spray it on twice a day because I love it that much. Very long lasting, definite head turner, and great fall/winter scent.

the wicked

long lasting… sweet…delicious scent… lasts all day

O.

I just love it. Not SOOOOOOO unbearably strong like others say. it is strong and definitely lasts. Lovely blend of sweet vanilla, praline and oud. Very feminine .

MaraCorina

This is a nice sweet woody vanilla with a little bit of rose, but it is on the mature side imo, also I don't really like the smokiness that it has, which is not listed. And it is beast mode, which for the price is worth trying if you like sweet woody fragrances.

Pyae Hein

Gorgeous expensive sweet scent with nuclear mode performance!!!!! 1spray last over 24hr.

silthrill

Oh I’m so mad at these mixed reviews which made me hesitate to buy this for so long. Finally bit the bullet and blind bought, and thank goodness!!! Shaghaf Oud and I were meant to be together. Call me crazy but this to me is much better than Oud Bouquet (OB to me was fully meh- another reason why I waited so long to try this one as everyone says they’re so similar). This is a proper oud gourmand 😍. Although it has rose, I would not classify this as a rose-oud. If you’re looking for a rose oud, go for Sehr Al Sheila. This is a sweet, delicious, hazelnutty oud with excellent projection and performance. Very happy to add this to my collection. Leans slightly feminine but can work as unisex.

Like getting punched in the back of the head, but in a good way?

sakecat22

Of the Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud series I've tried, the gold bottle is hands-down my favorite. Oud, rose, caramel, vanilla. I don't pick up the saffron note as strongly as I do in Shaghaf Oud Aswad (Black). What saffron I do pick up leans more "indeterminate spices" vs the medicinal note that saffron often provides. Linear - what I smell on first spray is what I smell for the duration of the scent. If I was still a signature scent sort of gal, I could easily see myself using this as my go-to.

rvs1182

I compared this side by side with Oud boquet. Oud bouquet smells a lot more roses and tad bit sweeter than Shaghaf Oud. On my skin, Shaghaf dries down a tad bit soapy with some roses, wherein OB retains the roses, oud and the sweetness. For comparison sake, shaghaf is 98% similar to OB (may be 95% in the dry down only), if that helps. From a price point i am happy to keep buying this than spending $400 (AUD) on OB

Also OB lasts longer and the sillage is decent, but this one turned into a skin scent in about an hour.

Lovely lovely . I bought this falling in love this kind of scent with Sheik al shuyuk . This kind of scents realy took my by suprice . the sweet rose pralin and oud is so so jummy The Saffron in here isent as strong as the on in Sheik .And im a bit sad about that . that is one of the notes i realy have fallen for it it seems .
I got the version with english wrighting, its still very strong and persistent. Goes on all day .Sweet rosy jummy treat . The Oud is most prominent in the begining on my skin . lasts just a short wild .the drydown is sweet pralin vanilla rose with a tad of woods only .Yes its sweet but i feel its balanced between the rose saffron and woods .I could wish for a little bit more spice like in Sheik ;) yes i do love Sheik Lattafa ,this comes in close but missing the spice and deapth abit . At the middel stage this also takes on a tad soapy rose feel . not much but its there for a few hours before i goes sweet in the drydown . I wish they used abit of more dark rose perhaps . for me it starts of dark rosey ,turns abit pink tea rose .and then dies down to a very shy vanilla rose .
love this one to but i think my hearts beats abit faster with sheik <3
This is strightly feminin i would say . sheik is a tad more unisex perhaps but still to me very feminin. im not used to sweet scents on guys maybe thats why i feel this way . Shaghaf Oud is great for the price aswell.
For thouse who want to know if this is close to Shaghaf oud aswad its not. Aswad is way darker and full of Oud soapy aswell. little sweetnes on my skin

perfume_angel

This is oud beginner friendly. It’s extremely sweet and dense. The vanilla and praline give it such a delicious and intoxicating touch, and it makes it a oud gourmand fragrance. 🪵🥀🍦🍮🌹

The first time I sprayed this, I couldn’t stop sniffing my wrist. Also, I got the new version with the English writing and the longevity and sillage is AMAZING. You only need 2-3 sprays and this will last you ALL DAY. I don’t understand the fuss about the reformulated version because it’s extremely powerful and long lasting.

Michel Silencieux

Definitely a fragrance I love, but I fully understand that many people won’t like this one. For me it triggers some interesting memories. In 1992, I was walking down the street in Cairo and after 4 months away from home, I needed a haircut. There was a group of men smoking and playing cards seated on old crates outside a barber shop. I stopped and entered the shop. A couple of the men scrambled to enter the shop behind me. They were my barbers. The shop smelt heavily of saffron and floral fragrances and occasionally petrol fumes from the busy street and the smell of cigarettes off the men saturated the air around me. It’s a strange smell, masculine and feminine, but very pleasant. That shop gave me one of the sharpest and best haircuts I’ve ever had and I felt energised and ready when I exited the barber shop. This is what Shaghaf smells like to me!

It’s strong and it projects. 2 sprays is enough. It lasts ages. I can still smell this one after 12 hours. The opening is a bit harsh, like cigarettes and fuel, but it settles down into the saffron and floral notes and finishes with a vanilla/oud smell on my skin. I do notice the praline note, which gives this fragrance some extra sweetness.

I feel this is not a blind buy for those who prefer “western” fragrances, but I like it. I view it as a unisex scent. I think women would smell awesome wearing this and as a man I like it on myself. I think my skin scent mixes well with this, but it’s probably not for everyone.

bexxrossy

Thanks to you guys, I went and just blind bought this.... I will write a review when I get it :P

CHarris23

This is a great place to start for folks new to ouds. I blind bought this on Amazon and am blown away by how delicious and high end it smells. Lasts all day and is a very sensual scent. A great value and good blind buy.

First of all- whoa.
This is my first dip of the toe into ouds, and this baby is a beast. I got the batch with English lettering, expecting it to be a bit soft, but this is easily the loudest perfume I have. At first spritz, it's burn your nostrils strong, but once it mellows, it's this woody, sweet fragrance.
You really only need one to two sprays, and I say this as someone who will spray perfumes like Alien and La Vie est Belle six to eight times.
I'll be keeping this baby in rotation, especially during winter and outdoor events.

Baba_Yaga1996

This is an immediate yes from me. I started off as someone who didn't really find Oud to be a match for me, but it has definitely grown on me.

For me the fragrance starts out very Oud/Rose with just a touch of the sweetness. It's very loud at first and all I could smell was this Oud/Rose scent but then starts to mellow down after about 2 hours and the sweetness started to creep through. After that I start to get this breakthrough of a spicy, dry, woody scent that's equally cozy and very sexy. From this point on the scent's projection dials back just a bit and I get this wonderful little scent bubble that's a perfect smokey sweetness. It stays that way until it becomes a skin scent after about 10-13 hours, but my clothes will carry this smell for days afterwards. Every now and again the scent will be full blown beast mode on my skin for 12-16 hours, but for the most part I get a decent amount of wear time that I can't complain about.

I have two bottles—Arabic lettered and English lettered—I can tell you that I don't notice a difference in the smell at all nor do I notice a difference in performance. I get complimented on the smell from both bottles, as well as remarks from people who can smell this fragrance from all the way down the hall.

For me, this is a winner and has quickly become my top fragrance because it's exactly the type of loud fragrance I like.

supersaiyan

From far away, yes it smells very similar to Oud Bouquet. Shaghaf Oud is the real powerhouse though, it's SO strong - like, unbearably strong. The blend is clunky and done quite poorly but the notes are there. I prefer Oud Bouquet, it has strength but femininity and elegance, but if you're on a budget Shaghaf Oud is all you need to get the job done.

phpbb

English logo. Yes, it is great. And superb performance, stays even after shower.
Smells like ink + honey + wood.
Perfect blind buy.
