Slightly smoky spicy amber suede. It has good longevity with an arm length silage.
Not sure why this was discontinued because it is very mild and inoffensive.
I would consider this a year-around frag of used in moderation because it is so soft and creamy.
It's all about saffron and suede with no detectable animalic notes. So if you like a clean suede scent this would be for you.
It's a masculine leaning fragrance but ladies should be able to pull this off.
Also have to mention that I really like the caps on these bottles; quite an interesting design.

I'm so pissed at my self for not getting this frag when I could have gotten it for a good price, this for me is the BEST Ferragamo fragrance, not in this line I mean the best this company has made ( imo ) I had a sample of this and fell in love with it, it lasted for ever and no joke on one of my sweaters lasted for two weeks. this is just a comforting warm frag, this is what you would wear if you wanted to sit by a fire place dressed like Hugh Hefner smoking a pipe or cigar with a glass of Scotch or brandy up in the snow covered mountains. it sucks that it is disco and you can no longer find this.

Amazing scent, a nice variation on leather. Even though I have leather fragrances in my collection, this one doesn't smell like anything else I have. I saw some comparison's to TF, I personally don't get that.

I don't get a ton of incense though, so for a fragrance called Incense Suede, I had a different expectation. I see people saying enormous longevity and sillage for this, to be honest it's pretty subtle on me. I only catch whiffs here and there, especially if I move, lasts only about 5 hours then gone. This is with four sprays which seem unnecessary for a fragrance that should be "enormous" across the board.

The bottle and box are really nice.

I picked this up in a trade, surprised to hear this was discontinued. Looks like Ferragamo has a new leather fragrance out which I'd like to check out after smelling this.

Най-много обичам началото му, отваря се невероятно смолисто, иска ми се да е така непрекъснато, но и така е прекрасен:)
Добавям: много красив я горещините

It took me awhile to fully appreciate this masterpiece, but this is now my favorite scent. Rich, smokey, medicinal (with a tiny spark of sweetness) frankincense is the star here and if that is what you are after, then you fill get it full force here. The suede is the base in which all the other notes play off of, but this is an incense fragrance through and through and it's the best one I have ever smelt. I wear this in summer and winter, day and night, how much I apply depends on the situation. Long lasting, somewhat linear and always satisfying this is my signature.
Ive always wanted this but at $250 a bottle I was reluctant. When it became discontinued I saw it on line for $66 and I bought one immediately. The moment I wore it I was kicking myself for not getting another. I went back to the site and the price jumped to $100, then I purchased two more in a blind frenzy. Hey, $266 for 3 bottles like buying one and getting two free at regular retail right? (according to my fragrance obsessed logic). Now the prices are going up and availability is getting scarce.
My advice: If you are a incense freak, splurge now and get a bottle while you can. You won't be disappointed. You will thank me later.

This is more of a response to Voile:

You are certainly entitled to your opinion on whether you like the fragrance or not. But you are wrong in assuming that others that don't agree with your opinion are somehow "incentivised" and not authentic.

I assure you my review praising this is only motivated by my love for this fragrance. My review is honest and as objective as I can make it. I bought a bottle, then bought another once I had used it up.

Also, fragrances can end up at certain discounters for a number of reasons. Demand is one, yes, but Ferragamo in particular recently refreshed their whole Tuscan Soul and Tuscan Scent lines, combining them into a new line called "Tuscan Creations". Many of the older scents live on with a new name: Testa di Moro is the (probably reformulated) equivalent of Incense Suede

As such, the original creations had to make way for the new line. So they went to the discounters. (BTW I surmised this from researching the different lines. I don't work for Ferragamo at all. A bit of research on Fragrantica would lead someone to the same conclusion).

You are fully entitled to your opinion. Just don't disparage other opinions to make yours seem somehow "better".

Voile

I think some fragrances have been released many years ago and get hyped by reviewers; perhaps incentivized by the manufacturers. How are these higher end items flooding the discounters if they're so great? I received by bottle yesterday. Great presentation; but what a disappointment when I sampled the fragrance. Almost completely spent as if stored in a hot warehouse for the duration of its life. I don't get any incense at all after 5 minutes. Only a faint Serge Luten's Daim Blond synthetic oily version of suede (barnyard version)
that is as good as having washed your hands with the same fragranced bar soap. Not worth the hype, packaging, concept, or price. Some of us have to give an objective, honest opinion.

Let me add my review to the many glowing reviews. I finally got a bottle of this after smelling it in Las Vegas and being completely blown away by it!

It starts off with a smoky incense with a hint of leather, but as time goes on gets more rugged and a nice cedar/pine note comes through.

I imagine that this is what an incensed church in a rocky mountain lodge would smell like. rough hewn and woody, but resiny and amazing too.

And the bottle is simply phenomenal. It almost feels like a work of art.

This and DG Velvet Vetiver are my two major discoveries from my fragrance "haj" to Las Vegas. :-)

atarilynx

It's funny woods aren't included in the notes... Namely cedar and. Pine. Because they are definitely there. A good smoky resiny scent. Will see about longevity

Very impressive but where's the incense? I'm an incense freak and I just don't smell any here. It is one of the best leathers I've come across but doesn't last for more than three hours. After the third hour, it became a skin scent and for me, it's not worth the price tag if it doesn't last at least six hours. Awesome scent though.

An absolute favourite of mine. My body is a temple and I smell like church, not your usual sunday church mind you, but a place full of secrets and lost knowledge. Should have been named Acéphale! Lasts forever, sometimes even through a shower the next day! This will not leave you wanting.

Most perfumes are suggestive: this one's evocative.

A young tourist walked by me wearing this and I just had to stop and ask him what he was wearing.

It's such a beautiful, nostalgic scent this. I'm not sure what miraculous combination of lithurgical incense and perfumery leather led to this, but it's brilliant.

It reminded me instantly of rooms in my grandfather's workshop from when I was a child: sawdust, smoke, wood resins, all coalescing into a warm, lived-in smell.

I almost had tears in my eyes when I smelled it in the boutique today.

I will be wearing this, because it is one of the few ways that I can immediately project who I am and where I come from: this fragrance is a portable force field, a blanket from harm.

"The parfum"
To my personal opinion this represents the excellence.
Strong, masculine, long lasting.
The cost of this juice is totally justified by the product itself.
A fragrance that starts with strong notes of leather, smoke, incense, evolves during the hours leaving a spicy and sweet memory.
Can give just a 10/10.

Lately I bought a sample of Encre Noir a l'extreme, cheaper than this but whith an initial impact that reminds me a lot Incense Suede.

ebear

I really enjoyed the scent itself, especially the gorgeous incense, but the longevity was so dreadful (under 30 min.) that I returned the fragrance - that was a first! (I had been given a sample, so the bottle wasn't yet open.) What a shame!

RBZ

This does remind me of TF Tuscan Leather ONLY when layering Tuscan Leather with Amber Absolute;)

genvy

Opens with a thick incense blast, slightly peppered, over the warm and smoky styrax (which itself is burned like incense, if I understand correctly). Soon joined by a saffrony leather accord quite similar to the one in Tuscan Leather, you'll find, as the scent unfolds. Lasting power is slightly above average, unfortunately. It is dark and "oily" smelling, and quite lovely in that regard. Less palatable for bystanders than comparable scents in this genre, I think.

This is certainly more like Tuscan Leather than Cool Water is like Tuscan Leather. Strong incense, saffron, and leather. Similar indeed. A clone? No, definitely not. But to say this is "nothing at all" like Tuscan Leather is just silly. In fact, I'd place this closer to TL than I would Acqua di Parma's Leather, which is much more fresh and loaded with citruses and "fruit" notes.

Calvini

This is my favorite from the collection, comfortably sweet and gently smoky; starts out more incense and dries leathery. (Not to mention the luxurious bottles not seen in most other designer private collections)

FeelingRisky

I very much disagree with the first review here, this is NOTHING at all like TF TL, you may have smelled the wrong parfum.
Anyways, this is so beautiful.
A masterpiece.
Soft incense with a glowing almost sweet suede, this is dry and warm - sensual. long lasting and so very niche.
Another remarkable hit from this small niche portion of SF.

I wanted to love this one since I love Golden Acacia.

This one is okay IMO. The one thing that bothers me about this one though is, for some reason, after about the first 15 minutes, I smell pencil shavings.
Isn't that strange, Remember what pencil shavings smell like? So to me this is a fresh interpretation of luxury pencil shavings. Not sure if anyone else gets this or maybe Im crazy. Not that it's a bad thing. It just is what it is.

Update: I have now grown to love the woody pencil shavings note with the leather. Give it a chance..

"The Signature Of Quietness" *****

You have reached an altered state of mind here. The world is out there, vibrant, noisy, oppressive, but now you don't care. Solitude and alienation are your needs. And finally you know heaven can be here.

Only for the chosen ones.

Vegas Pauli

Straight up leather with smokey incense and I swear I smell a strong bitter oud in it as well. Its nice, rich and masculine. This is damn nice. It's potent, expensive smelling and very very long lasting. I want a bottle.

Arabian Knight

Hmm, I disagree. This isn't really similar to "Tuscan Leather" since here the emphasis is on saffron, identifiable by its distinct 'boot polish' note. There is also a rosy sweetness present which makes "Incense Suede" feel more feminine than the rugged, raw-hide leather in Tom Ford's offering.

It's very much in line with the myriad of sultry saffron and oud combinations now being churned out for Western consumption. Rather linear and uninspired if I'm honest.

dioraddictfan

Very much like Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather, but I like this one better. It's still woody and smoky, but it's smoother. I find the Tom Ford to be very strong. This is more subtle and engaging.
