White Soul by Ted Lapidus is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. White Soul was launched in 2010. The nose behind this fragrance is Alexandra Carlin. Top notes are Tagetes, Plum, Apricot and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Heliotrope, Saffron and African Orange Flower; base notes are Benzoin, Amber, Tonka Bean and French labdanum.

New fragrance for women, White Soul, joined the Ted Lapidus collection of perfumes at the end of 2010. This light and graceful fragrance invented a new language of love. Edition for women White Soul stands in contrast to the masculine Black Soul from 2009.

Top notes of White Soul introduce fine and juicy aromas of mirabelle plum, apricot, mandarin and a floral nuance of marigold. The heart blooms with orange blossom with a warm and soft embrace of heliotrope spiced with fine saffron. Amber, labdanum, tonka and benzoin make a perfect, warm and balmy base for the fruity-floral enthusiasm from the beginning.

Top: mandarin, marigold, mirabelle, apricot
Heart: orange blossom, heliotrope, saffron
Base: amber, labdanum, benzoin, tonka

The flacon of White Soul is colored in pearly white and embellished with discrete golden details. Its outer carton is cylindrical in shape and contributes to the elegance and luxury of the whole concept. The fragrance has been available since 2010 as 50 and 100 ml EDP.

Anyone who yearns for spicy resinous vanilla fragrances should try White Soul. This is certainly a hidden gem.

Horrible name for a solidly good perfume at a great price point. I've had this for years and as someone else said, it's a no brainer perfume when I'm not sure what mood I'm in. It's an ambery, marigold, balsamic, resin, benzoin concoction w/ fair sillage and lasting power. I live in the American south though and often wondered what was going on in their branding department with this one. You smell great- what are you wearing? "White Soul"- I would never say to anyone. Good winter perfume though and well worth the price point.

This is my ride or die number one love. White Soul is absolutely signature worthy and a spicy vanilla-amber done right.
There’s a bit of everything I crave in this perfume. The marigolds and saffron give it a cozy warmth, while the apricot and plums gently dance in the background, lending a fruity touch that never overwhelms. There is a lotion accord in there too. White Soul feels clean and musky, warm and comfortable, slightly herbal. There’s a benzoin heavy dry down. Just…. Mmmmmmmmm.
I’ve never been let down, or been bummed that I chose White Soul as my scent of the day. It’s often my morning picker upper before bath choice, or late night comfort me to sleep scent. This is what I put on when the day has been shit and I’m in need of some real aromatherapy. It lasts, projects, gets compliments, and changes while developing. White Soul stays beautiful the whole way through, and feels like a guardian angel’s’ invisible shield.
There’s nothing I’d change about it— it’s that much of a stunner.

I can agree with reviews that this is the excelent and specific scent. The beggining is herbal and spicy from marigolds. I can smell fruit, too. The drydown is really soft spicy and balsamic with amber. It is warm and cozy fragrance. It somehow reminds me Splendida Patchouli Tentation - it has the same vibe on my skin.

Rozalina

I ordered a bunch of fragrances that I’ve been curious to try, this being one of them. So far, this is the only one that I’m not totally disappointed in. In fact, it’s a hit.
I’m not a huge lover of saffron in perfumes but here it adds a nice, spicy kick that I enjoy smelling on myself. This perfume is blended well- I can’t pick out individual notes. There’s definitely a slight sweetness from the plum and apricot but this isn’t fruity. The heliotrope softens the amber base but I wouldn’t say White Soul is powdery. It is a bit old-fashioned but not dated. I rarely wear my more “classic” fragrances out of the house, those tend to be for my own enjoyment, but I have no problem wearing this.
This is a balsamic, gothic scent to my nose and should have been in a black bottle titled “Dark Soul.” There is something nostalgic and very romantic here. White Soul would certainly appeal to someone who wears White Diamonds Night but to me they smell nothing alike, just a similar vibe, if you will.
I’m going to put this away until next year, because this beauty will shine on a crisp, winter night.

I’m so confused by this, I seem to get just one note, baby wipes!?!?!? A big no for me

This wonderful perfume was sadly discontinued, but now you can get Bvlgari Spendida Patchouli Tentation. The new reincarnation

Madyana is right, this DOES smell like licorice! Actually, here in Norway we have a these small chewing tobacco pellets called Oliver Twist (licorice flavor) and once White Soul dries down that is exactly what it smells like.

I get the reference to Sun (though they are very different), they have some of the same base or vibe going on.

I will have to use this more to see if I can get passed my chewing tobacco reference. It is nice, but it sure is a very strange one. The saffron is very strong which is a cool twist for an otherwise pretty sweet and balsamic scent. More unique than I expected for sure!

White Soul is my all weather anytime dumb reach and I love that it is so budget-friendly. It’s a sweet balsamic scent with just enough herbal tartness and spicy bitterness to keep it interesting. Something about the marigold citrus opening, saffron heliotrope heart, and tonka benzoin base just works wonders on my skin.

Hate the name. My spouse jokingly refers to it as “that white supremacist perfume” but no doubt the name was meant to evoke some kind of new-agey spiritual achievement level. I wonder if the initial creation brief was music themed because I’m already rolling my eyes at the cutesy pairing with the Black Soul men’s version. But contrastiveness? I get that.

It’s similar to Clinique’s Aromatics in Black with less floral spiciness, more balsamic and powder, and better projection and longevity than AiB. It is not really a sweet amber vanilla perfume, at least not on the opening. The opening is subtly tart-herbal. The sweetness comes through more as the fragrance develops. The saffron note is intriguing because it gives a slight bitterness that alternates with the sweet labdanum and benzoin. The tonka underlining the structure here is more the aromatic tobacco kind, not the vanilla kind, but the benzoin and heliotrope fluff it up. The drydown is powdery but maintains a faint acerbic tartness. The notes are all ones I tend to like in isolation but they are set against each other so well that none really stand out.

I have the body lotion and it goes on as mostly powder with a bit of sweet and tart. I also have Francis Kurkdijan’s Gold & Diamonds version which amps up the sweetness, astringency, and bling but has little in common with Alexandra Carlin’s subtler take. This is one of those quietly confident warm perfumes that simmer nicely on skin. Solid appreciation for this one, especially given the affordability.

Sweet&sultry

The similarity to Sweet Sun from Dior is stunning! Both amazing! If you loved Dior, trust me and try this one!

I deleted my first review because I was so mean about this fragrance that I almost felt guilty about it, I still don't love it but... if you already bought it I would recommend it for cold weather only, at nights preferably, more as a base fragrance to put after shower 2-4 sprays only away from skin, get dressed and spray something else after, it doesn't work well by it self but it smells clean white, currently I'm using it as air freshener, it makes my leaving room smell sexy, never for summer or hot weather

middle25

This is something else entirely - from all the perfumes I've tried, this one makes me scratch my head the most but I still like it a lot. I bought it because the reviews here were good and it wasn't expensive. I also found the notes to be extremely interesting and had to just smell it. On me, it opens a little loud with marigold, a note I have to admit I know little about. It supposedly smells like wet hay and I can see that in White Soul's opening but the plum gives some sweetness to the hay while the apricot softens it. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, I get the root beer scent. Not that I don't like it, it's just really strong in this. I can smell the heliotrope through this and I'm guessing the saffron can be attributed to it. That and the big benzoin on the bottom. There's a good bit of amber in the base too and all of a sudden, this comes together. The benzoin adds smoothness to the base, then mingles with the heliotrope and you get a powdery, even, almost cool scent. The longevity and sillage are both great on this, so I don't overspray. I have a few Ted Lapidus' perfumes, including Black Soul, Black Soul Imperial, Altamir (I find these unisex), Creation de Minuit, and White Soul Gold & Diamonds, another very interesting scent. I like many of the fragrances that have come out of his house. White Soul has been a great trip so far, an interesting and inexpensive one.

Madyana

What the hell can be said about this?
First, this is soft in nature and strong in performance.
It lasts on my skin just as long as I can tolerate this sweetness in my nose.
There’s that kind of mosquito repellent hint in this opening, which is actually so well blended that it gives this scent a very sophisticated and interesting nuance. Sounds crazy. And it always goes crazier ...

The fruits, flowers and saffron appearing here twist together to resemble a strong licorice scent. But when you smell this, you realize that no licorice has been used and at comes from a combination of those flowers. There is no iris or violet balancing the scent. Benzoin and amber are very heavy. As if serious, sophisticated and childishly naive playing games in the same perfyme.

On top of all that, this is sold in a gift package.I wouldn’t give this for anyone.
Still, I think some practiced perfume lover can find this her/his favorite scent for home evenings. This is very comforting and interesting in its own contradictory way.
Honestly; This review is no helpful to anyone. 🤪

bdragonfly12345

This was a blind buy, because (a) the reviews are so positive, (b) I am a benzoin freak, and (c) I found a 100mL bottle online for a very reasonable price.

To be honest, I don't quite know what I think about it!

The first few minutes are quite a cacophony of notes. Marigold and plum are what I smell the strongest. Then, I begin to wonder if I have gone nose-blind, because it mutes down to a saffron-rootbeer scent (on my skin). If I spray it on CLOTHING, it's a completely different experience, and the confusion of scents keeps on going.

Overall, I very much enjoy the smell I get on my skin...but I worry that other people are smelling what I experience on fabric. I definitely think anyone could wear the scent, but I don't know that I would recommend it...and it's definitely not a safe blind-buy!

(Unfortunately, I have never tried any of the "Reminds me of" scents, so I cannot compare!)

*****UPDATE*****
I was so on the fence about this, even months later, and ended up swapping it with someone from the forum. I am much happier with the scents I ended up with, and I hope they are loving this! :)

ViouAmara

Smoky plum, becoming sweet and warm.
One of my best blindbuy but you’ll have to love benzoine because you won’t escape it.
I see absolutely no connection with the golden liquid amber of Habanita l’esprit. WS is much more balsamic and fruity, the same cooked plum I get in Femme Rochas or in Chloé Nomade Absolu. I wonder why they called it white, it’s not a clear scent.
The dry down is to die for!

Seaworthy

Holy cow this is SO GOOD!!!! I mean this is an absolutely beautiful amber, sweet and balsamic fragrance. Not obnoxiously sweet, just perfect, sweet like warm vanilla pudding with a spicy edge. Not smelling a lot of florals. The base speaks loudly here, benzoin, amber and tonka give it a richness that is delectable. Really nice for cooler weather. I am so crazy about this one that I received it today and immediately ordered another bottle. I have never done that before! I want to add here that I love the bottle as well. Easy to hold, very accurate sprayer, that you can spray lightly or heavily. It is heavy weight and a beautifully feminine shape with a diamond embedded in the lid. What's not to love?!

SailorV

I'm quite fond of lighter oriental fragrances. They work as dumb-reach daytime fragrances in fall and winter, but can also easily be worn on warmer days. White Soul falls perfectly into this category.

It's very resinous with benzoin as the main note and amber as a close second, but extremely smooth and unintrusive in that. Heliotrope adds a feminine, slightly sweet and powdery floral aura to the scent. The saffron is subdued, but noticeable. The stone fruit notes give the fragrance a nice lift in the opening, but move far into the background quickly. Tagetes, which is not exactly my favorite flower, doesn't stand out to my nose by any means.

All in all I find this warm and cozy, but also chic. If you expect something bold and dramatic from the notes, this is not it, it sits relatively close to the skin and lasts for an average amount of time. Nevertheless I'm very happy to have this affordable little gem.

ivadim

Първото ми впечатление е, че ми напомня на Jil Sander sun, но по- запудрен, ще допълня по-нататък. Допълнително: много кремообразен, сметанов, красив аромат. Отлично се представя в лятна нощ

zapling

Topnotes like Oiseau De Nuit and Calling All Angels- a sweet powdery incensy woody leather, very agreeable! There's so much more depth than one would expect just by reading about the top notes.

Then it goes a little boozy indeed. must be the plum/apricot trail. Boozy with a heavy, somewhat dirty undertone, like tons of wilted roses trampled into a dirt track. After that, lovely vanilla and labdanum. Like incense. Very nice. Some days it's fresh-ish, soaplike, other days it turns out warm and cosy like vanilla latte.

White soul brings to mind Biagiotti's Roma, but it's not the same thing. Its far more quirky and multi-faceted. It reacts to my skin in different ways between different days that I wear it, but I have never before had a perfume that makes me love literally all the different faces it shows me.
I should add, I totally dislike the bottle (or should I say pitcher) and feel that the bottle with the strangely placed rhinestone jn the cap does not do the scent justice)

AcerSaccharum

Took a total flyer on this one in the heat of summer, probably based on that collection of notes and some intriguing reviews here. Another one that blooms in the cold, I'm finding. I get lots of sweet, fresh, somewhat tangy cream, with the benzoin, tonka, amber, and heliotrope all present and accounted for. Very sweet, actually, so I am layering this one with something that registers as slightly salty on my skin--Halston Woman Amber--to take it down just a notch and add a little depth. So I'm essentially a big, walking salted truffle today and it's wonderful.

AaronStar

Look at those notes, and benzoin as a top vote, this has to be in my collection, I love the purple sweet scent of heliotrope and mix it with sweet caramel benzo, it has to be a very special scent.

meliecat

Wow, this one is a surprise! There were so many different reviews here I didn`t know what to think myself, who to believe..Until I found it at a very reasonable price and snatched it in seconds.

First of all: the packaging is classy; I like the porcelain-like bottle with the little Swarovski-crystal on it, very different! And tin, not box - again, love it!

Then the scent itself: Honestly, i think this is defo unisex somehow. It opens up a mish-mash of everything - not distinct notes until the first ten minutes. Then I get labdanum, benzoin, something reminiscent of orange or orange peel and amber, and saffron popping up as well, sharp and is sooo there. Later on it dries down mainly to benzoin but these 4 notes are the most dominant all along. I get NO tonka OR heliotrope though, these notes are definitely overpowered by the other 4 that rule here. On my skin, again, there is absolutely zero powderiness, nada, none. It stays sharp and `in-your-face` benzoin-labdanum-amber with saffron as a support in the beginning, after an hour it gets softer and you get a bit of plum - or prune, to be more precise! - and apricot so it turns a bit sweeter, maybe boozy even, and it dries down as this into a lovely skin-close scent. At this stage I find it very sexy and seductive.

I wouldn`t find it a real quality piece, but it does fit into my perfume wardrobe well and all in all I like it! I find NO similarity with Rochas Tocade myself, not with the older version anyway - I had several bottles, completely different story in my book, as for the newer version I can`t comment as I haven`t tried..

My fella told me he likes it but he thinks he would easily get away with it himself..The only negative is that it doesn`t last long enough (not now anyway, when temperatures drop quickly..) But it definitely is an interesting piece, which I`ll definitely keep and adore - and, possibly, sometimes share..:-D ! Anyone who likes benzoin and amber - you must try, it could be a lovely blind buy, with a twist!

adrienn99

well I have not cared to look at any Ted Lapidus fragrances given they fully abused and sucked the life out of Rumba by Balenciaga. I wouldn't have tested this had it not been a Sunday. A Sunday when I'm bored and also have very few samples left in my stash.

I sprayed and was surprised to have liked it. Think it smells more expensive and quality than its price point would suggest and hits a good balance between balsamic-floral-fruity notes. There is a touch of tartness/aromatic thingy that saves the frag from travelling to 'Cloyland' which in my experience happens a lot with balsamic/amber dominated frags. (the other 'trick' they do to balance amber/balsamic is woody notes, uhm, not my thing).

Additionally, this smells creamy too. Need to test again, this one caught me off-guard :)

P.s. drydown bears similarities with Molinard Habanita L'esprit (i.e. powdery balsamic/amber

socorrosouza

I like White Soul as well as WS Diamonds and love D&G Pour Femme , but , on my skin, there are no great similarities between them.
White Soul on my skin is powdered sweetness with a fruity background, good longevity(7-hr plus) and moderate sillage.
WS Diamonds is more a jasmine/clementine combo with an indolic less sweet jasmine in collusion with a very sweet clementine, also with good longevity and moderate sillage and more creamy than the powder than WS original is in my skin.
D&G Pour Femme Intense is creamy, dreamy, even the tuberose is used to enhance the creaminess of marshmallow to great effect, as well as give a bit of floralness to the combo. Love, love, love, even if it has tuberose which usually gives me headaches.Longevity is moderate 4/5 hours with moderate sillage.

2nd review:
Now I can see that I don't like it when first sprayed(I have to blame the aged juice of my tester bottle or it's opening part may simply not be my taste, it's like a mish mash of all the notes, thick swertness and alcohol)
Now I've learned that I have to ignore it for it's first 10 minutes and then my patience is rewarded by an amazing scent which worthes a lot longer waiting
So now I'm talking about it after it settles down.I can smell a creamy scent very much like the one I smell in it's sister(white soul golds & diamonds)but there's no jasmine here so overall they smell very different.I can't talk about single notes in this creamy blend, there must be heliotrope, amber, benzoin and definitely orange flower and a hint of something bright and fruity(apricot or mandarin?) in this stage it smells as if D&G Pour Femme Intense is layered with a balmy amber-benzoin scent,it's yummy without being a gourmand,an easy to wear oriental floral,so smooth and addictive.
But as time passes a whisper of labdanum emerges and tonka and amber become more noticeable making it more interesting, more serious and more balsamic.labdanum doesn't bother me as much as it usually does but I could live and enjoy White Soul without it.it definitely has a hint of smokeyness in this stage giving it a slight unisex/niche-like vibe
what lasts with me after the first hour is a warm, soft, slightly powdery scent of amber-tonka ,cozy and sophisticated, I can pickup traces of other notes too, heliotrope, benzoin, labdanum, saffron, fruits but they're very well blended so amber and tonka are the ones that stand out to me the most
so for me it has four distinctive stages:
First stage:meh,a mish mash of all the notes
Seconds stage:love,a creamy yummy scent
Third stage:dislike, labdanum shows up and it gets a bit dirty with a vintage dusty, smokey undertone
Forth stage: love,a soft, slightly powdery amber and vanilla-orange flower heaven
Even though it's not among my top favourites, I'm happy to have it, it's much better than what it's price tag suggests and can be highly versatile, one can use it as a daily workplace perfume in cold months, also as a night perfume.I have always thought sillage is moderate at it's best but each time my husband says that he can smell something like vanilla and orange home made cake from the other side of room(he comments the same when I wear Hermes Amber, also Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy!)
I wish Ted Lapidus comes up with other white soul flankers,I LOVE it's gold flanker and like this one a lot
از موقع اسپری کردن تا نیم ساعت بهش زمان بدید تا ببینید با چه عطر محشری طرفید،نسبت ب قیمتش ارزش خرید بالایی داره

gtabasso

this is very soft and close to the skin with a myrrh cola note; the dominant notes of those listed are benzoin and tonka, a resinous creamy vanilla; not a powerhouse like other Lapidus frags you may be familiar with; underlying is some light light light heliotrope and plum to give it a soft depth beyond the resins but they aren't distinct fruity floral notes, this fades fast on my skin but is very pretty and creamy with an odd twist that is almost minty. As one reviewer further down said, "Wait an hour." That's the truth. The drydown is lovely. A skinscent of amber, benzoin and tonka. Beautiful. Niche at a fraction of the cost.

mschnabel666

Well, Silk Way didn't work for me... but I think I gave it away too quickly. Haha. This White Soul is so much better! I like this! It's very Loulou-esque, and similar to Le Parfum by Lalique. However, I like those 2 better than this.

I can best describe this as SWEET milky powdery vanilla latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon/nutmeg and baby powder. It's indeed sweet and powdery, creamy and yet fluffy.

This is fruity at times, but never a fruity floral.

This doesn't have great potency/longevity IMO. Very light. Cozy and easy to wear. But won't make a statement.

trabuquera

Perfectly nice, smooth, soothing, safe-bet - I couldn't detect hardly any of the fruit notes (which is just as well, as they look like a gourmand overload on here, and that's not what I smell). On me the effect is more like a generally suffusing, diffuse, flattering, sweetly feminine amber/Tonka/vanilla with really nothing at all to object to.

It's really nice; that might sound like faint praise, or lack of originality, and the words slightly reflect what I feel about it - it's much better than "just OK" or "wearable", but it's not quite different or individual enough to spark a strong reaction either way from me. If you enjoy gentle and soothing warm scents, this is certainly one, and is definitely worth a try for anyone. Sillage is limited, longevity is only medium - hardly detectable after 5h.

TessiiDob

This was a blind buy, based on the notes and the reviews and the fact that I was able to pick up a bottle very cheaply. It’s a very pretty fragrance – floral and fruity, it is a bit strong on opening, but after a couple of minutes, it settles and I get a very soft, gentle floral. Sadly, it doesn’t last on my skin – I barely get three hours out of this, and that’s from two sprays. But while it lasts, it’s just so lovely.

Soofiya

It's a long time I want to buy this one for lots of reasons.it has intresting notes and lots of positive reviews.I also have and love white soul gold&diamonds and I found a little-used tester bottle of white soul in my local perfume shop for an unbelievable price(less than 15$!) but each time I passed there, something prevented me from buying it.maybe the fact that I don't like the opening part.I had never tried it on my skin(I don't know why some SA s tend to love spraying in perfume caps or on paper, everywhere but not on my skin which is the only place that matters for me)it opens with a very faint spicy, smokey benzoin.I like benzoin but I could barely smell it and it wasn't sweet and more unisex than feminine
Finally I decided to give it a real chance and bought it.good that I did so because it develops beautifully on skin
It may seem faint at first but believe me it's not a weak fragrance.after touching skin it becomes more and more powerful and it's an almost strong scent even after hours
I don't pickup much fruity or floral notes here.they're for sure there, but in a mixed, well blended form.the only prominent floral is heliotrope, not as strong as I wished but still easily detectable.it's blended with benzoin, amber and tonka which are spiced by saffron and a hint of fruity mixture(something like boozy apricots, but very faint?)far in the background.I can also detect labdanum which comes and goes in flashes playing as a slightly smokey suede here.it's a balsamic scent with a dash of soft powder.actually it's not a perfume that I love very much;still I like it and I'm very happy to own it because there's something niche like here.I mean we usually don't see such perfumes among designer brands.I believe it's very unique specially in it's price point.it's a quality perfume.smooth and enveloping and can be considered unisex while leans more towards feminity
Edit:
OMG I love it's drydown!or maybe it's growing on me.I can smell pretty soft floral notes,I can't say particularly what flowers are they.now I can smell lots of spicy fruits when first sprayed, lots of apricot spiced by saffron and something like pink pepper.also there's something like creamy vanilla.you have to give this one thirty minutes to one hour.it's longlasting and it has good sillage even by then
I was in a hurry to write a review for it but I think it can be judged after couple of wearings
White soul isn't a white scent for me.this one and gold flanker should change their bottles and their names.it's not very warm or too sweet.not very spicy or very smokey or very powdery
It's opening and middle phase is very easy to explain.a combination of some of listed notes because benzoin, amber,Tonka, heliotrope, saffron and a touch of apricot are all detectable but drydown is very difficult to explain.gonna edit this and replace it with a real review whenever I was able to describe this beauty

honeyspirit

A really gorgeous perfume!! Fabulous benzoin, wonderful french labdanum, divine heliotrope, stunning saffron, delicious tonka bean, gorgeous orange flower!!! So many of my favourite things!!! It's a beautiful creation; lovely lovely lovely - fantastic!! It lasts well too, and has lovely sillage - everyone else loves it on me! Terrific! Very sensual and feminine. And the bottle is divine! I love everything about it!!! It's elegant and scrumptious!

UnearthlyApothecary

I have really been wanting to try this one and I just discovered a small sample amoung my decants. I will definitly be buying a FB. My 9 yr old son thinks this smells like Dr Pepper. This reminds me a lot of EL Sensuous but this one is more spicy, fruity and floral. It also kinda invokes Adam Levine with that marigold note. Warm, creamy, spice, the perfect comfort scent and it's dirt cheap!

Edemay

Was a blind buy for me
And unfortunately didn't get the beauty that others got.
This was very chemical smelling and harsh to me.
No powder or balminess.

Perfumeaddict777

This is one of the best cheapies i have ever bought. I received a sample from a fragrantica friend (one who always give me samples that end up loves:)). And right away i bought a FB. Imo this smells very niche. Along with this sample i received a sample of Hermès l' ambre. I liked ted lapidus white soul more. These two are similar, something in the base smells like they are family. Ted lapidus lasts longer and has better sillage on my skin. I dont get any plum, orange, or tagetes. It is a perfectly well blended warm and cozy scent. It's sappy amber, benzoins, heliotrope and light on saffron. It will be perfect for autumn and winter months. I've been craving benzoins, ambers, resinous, balmy, sappy scents and this hits the spot. Im so happy that i have this treasure!

I get the shower cream & body lotion while shopping for Creation EDT. Never had White Soul in my mind. I bought the body products cause the retail price were so cheap for a perfume brand body products.

While reach home for a shower, the shower cream is high quality stuff, you only need use a small amount for large area spread. The aroma was oriental incense. White the perfume touches my skin, the smell stimulates my mind, like I'm a very rich young business woman, staying at a luxury apartment in the capital city, bathing with luxury shower cream and my skin is silky smooth, that kind of feeling.

Is that the smell of benzoine? How marvelous! Wish to go back to the perfume shop to get White Soul perfume.

So Skitten was lucky and I was not - for me it was a very unhappy blindbuy which I decided to sell on Ebay after an hour. I just couldn't stand it, no matter how much I convinced myself. I even tried talking my husband into taking it from me, but his reaction was similar.
What i get from this fragrance is a rotten plum kind of note, with a bit of marigold and saffron which makes it even more nauseous. The heliotrope note is also queasy. The amber - main reason I ordered a bottle - hits the nose in the very beginning, but disappears quite quickly on my skin. Also the projection seemed very poor to me. It just didn't work for me at all. :(

In other words - be careful with blindbuiyng. I absolutely respect different opinions, but it is not a fragrance that will appeal to everybody.

Was intrigued by the reviews on here, so doing as I do I bought White Soul blind, for a very inexpensive price, plus bonus got shower gel and body cream. Have had success buying blind by following certain reviewers on here and I have scored a jackpot once again....lol..
Yay for me....
I agree, is like Tocade, Casmir which I love and own a few bottles of each, but am always searching for what I think will be another keeper. So after 6 hours of wearing my white soul and not needing to reapply, I promptly ordered another set of this warm, intoxicating, heavenly scent. Knowing my luck they will increase the price dramatically, which it thoroughly deserves as White Soul is definately a classy, well concocted potion. Secretly I like that I can buy it for way less than it deserves.
I sense warm mandarin/orangey blossom, plums, plus apricot pudding, definately heliotrope, amber and tonka bean essence.
Yummo..............

A very fresh, and a bit dark scent. Lovely! Great mix of Heliotrope, Tonka, Benzoin, Saffron, Labdanum and Orange Flower. No sweet notes at all and I love that. Maybe not a scent for a teenager but a true scent for the woman who knows what she wants. 2 spreys goes a long way and you smell good for several hours. Sadly - white soul makes me sneeze alot. Its a growing problem I have with some notes.

WOW! After reading a load of reviews on here I was a bit wary. Warm amber and sweet heliotrope. The marigold was a concern but thankfully it is subtle. The saffron and plum added some sophistication. A wearable sweetness thats for women and not girls. The sillage is a bit more than average and the longevity is very good to. I will keep this for cool days otherwise I might knock someone out with this lol. Oh, I almost forgot to say that the bottle and presentation is good. High end looking and smelling cheapie.

violetrose

It reminds of original Liz Claiborne realities. Perfect wear for autumn.

Indigomama

Marigold and fruits, that's what countryside in my country (Ukraine) smells in late summer and early autumn. It's a very well balanced oriental floral perfume with profound fruity notes making it very natural, surprisingly pleasant and absolutely wearable at the same time. It's a modern reading of oriental, light, airy and not overwhelmingly spicy (I can't stand carnation and therefore usually am reluctant about full-blown orientals). In a nutshell, it's a very pleasant but refined enough unusual perfume, quite cheap at that, which deserves at least to be tried. I has a great chance of being enjoyed. For me, it's perfect.
PS: white bottle doesn't suit it at all. It is misleading!

This fragrance is different and I like it!!! The packaging and bottle are very unique and the scent is just as gorgeous! I really have not purchased Ted Lapidus before but after getting this one, he is definitely on my radar! There is something about the combination of these fragrance notes that really make it unique and beautiful....almost a little heavenly and it is not a weak one either, it lasts. What a winner! So happy I found this one!

When I first got this I loved it for the wafts that I'd catch of myself throughout the day (vs up close); there was something ridiculously sexy about them. Something just warm, animalic, and sweet enough. I always thought I smelled a yummy man nearby but w/out being super masculine... but it was ME! Then it began to grow too too powdery for my taste after a decent # of wearings.

Nowadays I detect mostly a lot of powdery sweetness, saffron spice, and hints of animalic labdanum (maybe also the amber) under all the heliotrope. It does also have something in it that reminds me of lolipops, as someone else mentioned, in these top sweet notes (must be the fruit combo). Much more multi faceted and intriguing than the price would suggest! If you like warm, powdery, spiced scents w/ sweet notes this might be your next scent steal.

This smells like a little cherub sitting on a mound of sweet clover in the summer sun, eating pudding. It is sweet, cheerful and calming.

I learned heliotrope from ET Bronze and Lacoste Pour Femme, and White Soul smells similarly as regards to the the heliotrope which is certainly predominant here. White Soul, in the beginning, also has a sweetness that is like a dusty tuberose--candy sweet, like pink clover buds in the summer grass. I get a tad of vanilla, and I think the labdanum and amber are making this a tiny bit powdery. I don't get the neroli or fruity notes.

Lacoste Pour Femme always makes me feel calm, like a better version of myself--more patient, kind and gentle. White Soul had a similar calming effect, which I really like. I only have a decant, but this may be one worthy of a full bottle. Longevity so far >3 hours, projection is low-modest.

warlockss

i gave this a sniff , and man oh man it smells incredible , like sweet vanilla marshmellows with a bag of fruit lollies . i can see this as unisex men can definitely wear this scent aswell . i feel like buying a bottle for myself .

Sassy1

Lovely sweet and powdery heliotrope is at the core of White Soul while the clean/linen freshness of the orange blossom keeps it from becoming overbearing.
The top is harsh for me - a little too much "hairspray" which smooths out after a few minutes. But, because of this, I can't pick up any of the top notes, which I was looking forward to. Apricot and plum are 2 of my fav's.
The drydown is Tonka heavy with an almost smoky quality to it. The powderiness is diffused and there's no dill from the saffron.
It radiates a soft glow that hovers but doesn't intrude, making this the perfect winter office scent for me.

Like it immensely...a very fortunate blind buy...Yea!
(except, please fix the top!!)

Update: there's a touch of Casmir here too...none of the spice but the drydown is very similar in tone. Tonka and benzoin combo?

tinpanalley

it reminds me of Wish, Chopard. The similarity is unthinkable. The only difference is that White Soul is softer and weaker. Sweet with a bitter note, rather cold and drafty than warm. I can smell white flowers, vanilla, some lukewarm milk. I cannot smell it on myself after a while but people around me can. I prefer retro perfumes and W.S. is a very very modern one but I like it. White, clean soul...

It's funny when you remember something wrong. I got this at least two months ago and only sprayed it once. I really liked it, but thought it would be better for the fall. But, decided to wear it today and I was shocked because it was so different than what I expected. I was thinking it had patchouli, uh no. The tonka is especially vanilla-ey, like vanilla that has turned that lovely pinky light brown color that real vanilla products get. I agree this is not white at all. I also don't find it fruity, not one bit. Ambery, balmy, powdery, marigold and heliotrope. Yup, yup, yup. The longevity was amazing even on me. I do love this, but I need to remember it for what it is.

Oh, and the bottle, isn't it the best? I love the little "diamond"! Actually the whole design is just too wonderful. I agree that it doesn't necessarily fit the scent, but I don't care. It is so tactile, lovely to hold, to look at and to use. It reminds me of those wonderful rubber coated bottles of Tabu and Ambush.

I sampled White Soul this afternoon, it's a very powdery fragrance with an oriental twist. Actually, I find it strikingly similar to Tocade de Rochas, which is one of the best powdery fragrances out there, just became very hard to find.

It has top sillage and lasting power. Must have for powdery fragrances lovers or for those looking for an alternative to Tocade, not to mention that the price is quite cheap for the quality.

aserranocl

I got this perfume for a present recommended for the good comments in this website, but the truth is I hate it, unbearable for me.
The worst so far of all

Mushana

I got this as a gift from my sister -in-law! Stunning, nothing like anything I've ever owned and the compliments make me want to buy it bulk before it is modified...well done TL!

stelladoro

Heaven must smell like this. It opens so big and fast - like gigantic exotic petals of an unknown flower, almost overpowering. But the benzoin immediately smooths it out and then ripples it into a soft, balmy, scintillating touch of a summer's twilight breath on the skin. The sillage is excellent, and the balminess keeps the scent true and lasting. It doesn't "die off" as so many new fragrances do. Outstanding character.

Action

And.. it is not a white perfume at all!! I think the bottle design of Lalique Le Parfum suits the perfume more than this bottle, but I must confess, that this bottle is very unique.

Action

It is exactly Lalique Le Parfum. Very sweet oriental.

simnikiwe

when i first saw the perfume i thought to mysefy what a f***. but when the sales lady sprayed it to me i couldn't stop thinking about it.it was sweet! the following week i bought it. fabulous!!!!!!

Amarilla

Ahhh... I just can't get this out of my head. Sniffed it a few days ago in a drugstore and sprayed on my inner wrist and on a paper strip. Still keeping that piece of paper under my pillow. The fragrance is still very present, silky, clean, almost masculine, but I like it that way. It makes me think of things like purity, naked skin, cuddles, true love, warm but not too hot sunshine with sligthly breezy air.
I need to buy it next spring - if I can wait 'till then.

mahanta

Oriental floral??? Sorry, you must be joking! It's just plain fruity floral, and since I've got a 18 y.o. daughter, I've sniffed many of mass market fruity florals which have more character than this one! Apricot compote with the wrong nuance of marigold (remember Safari, Pour L'Amour de L'Inde, Guepard...marigold can be great!), no depth, just sugary, watery, sticky juice that makes me think I've fallen into a punch bowl. The worst fragrance I've tested in last 3 years - sorry, admirers, sorry, Ted Lapidus - I'm your fan, I love many of your creations, but this one made me write the nastiest review in my life:(
P.S. Thank you dear gesch - your decant saved me 40$ - I considered blind buying it /shudders/.

COSMICSCENTS

I tested this today and it's a very nice fragrance. Also it has it´s own unique scent. I would say it´s a smoky white floral with a sweetness behind it. Lovely bottle that feels like porcelain. I recommend this fragrance.

twillocks

Thanks to NathalieZ I have a sample of this and it is wonderful . . . I cannot wait to order a bottle for myself.

This fragrance so reminds me of a perfume that my mom bought me when I graduate high school. It was very expensive and in beautiful metal container and had a french name and had no idea what it meant. I wish I could remember the name. Oh well this smells like it to me.

kigyo

To me this is one of the most interesting parfumes I've experienced in the past several years. Ted Lapidus always surprises me. I sense vanilla, mint, oriental flowers, apricot. It smells like late summer, walking by fruit trees, a sunset, feeling happy, forget the troubles of the world, the scent of all the women I ever loved. It is like looking at photographs. Sounds, smells, feelings come alive from memory. Everything a parfume should be. I love it.

Action

Oh WAUW NathalieZ!! I have to get me some of this perfume then, reading your review made me REALLY enthusiastic!!!
