Donna is the classic of Italian perfume tradition. This wonderful scent carries the recognizable mark of the beautiful Italy. It is a perfume filled with sun, radiating noble and cheerful temperament, holding the secret of magnetic attractiveness that Italian women have.

The composition enchants you from the top: mandarin blends in with floral note of hyacinth, ginger and coriander passionately concluding their sweet duet. The heart is noble with flowers like ylang-ylang, rose and tuberose, spiced with carnation. The base is balmy – warm with notes of patchouli, cedar wood, labdanum and benzoin. My all time favourite. Just wish it was still around.

This review is for the "frosted" bottle EDT....like the one shown above...but frosted glass.
Being a total lover of the original Trussardi (white leather bottle), I had to try this one
This edt smells very similar to the original...but toned down...and citrus plays a bigger role here.
Totally LOVE this...but the original still has it beat...IMHO.
Classic gem !!!!

Let's clarify one thing: Donna perfume dates back to 1982, the formula has been improved for durability in 1984 and rebranded like Trussardi , the bottle it has become more modern in design with a stationary lid but remained white leather in white leather, the original bottle resembled the current Donna, except that it was also covered in white leather. In 1994 the Donna perfume is changed and it is born in two variants: the EDP that was produced in small quantities and EDT, the one from this page, which remained on the market for the following years, while EDP was taken out of production. In 2011 the modern variants appeared, first EDP and then in 2016 EDT.
Now Trussardi is, has been and I hope will continue to be a family business, so their perfumes always tell a story. Donna from 1982 was dedicated by Nicola Trussardi to his wife Maria Luisa Gavazzeni, it was a sweet, amber scent of a lady who gets up and leaves without expressing her emotions, of a fine woman but old manners, who can not afford to punch the table. It was a rather opulent, oriental scent, in which you could not find much green notes, with more floral notes that aerate the composition, the reinterpretation from 1984 that was called only Trussardi, I do not know, but I understood that it was a more peppery version with fewer floral notes. In 1994, six years before his tragic death, N.T. decides to celebrate his eldest daughter Beatrice Trussardi and her strongly feminist aura, of a strong and determined woman, through a new version of Donna , this one, I never got EDP but I can tell you about EDT: so this perfume is a greenish floral spicy fragrances, aldehyde is not heavy is on the contrary very aerated and slightly bitter, the top note is a peppery citrus and basil with what appears to me to be a cardamom, the middle note is a floral combination, mostly carnation with a very pronounced green note and something aromatic from orris and the end it's a cold amber and patchouli with a a floral touch. It is a perfume that describes the power of feminism in '94 a strong woman who learns to punch the table, sober but who knows when to smile without the fear that she will be seen as uneducated, who knows how to raise his voice when necessary to men but also knows how to whisper words of love to her love one, who dreams of a career not of a wedding dress and who looks at everything with an air of a ruler. This is the 94 version, the version of Beatrice, currently the president of the Trussardi company. The 2011 version is given by her older sister to the young creative director Gaia Trussardi, a perfume that says: I'm a lady, but I know how to hit you, I smile a lot but I can to destroy you, I am a dreamer but I am intelligence and even if I get lost sometimes in dreams, I always come back to earth. This is history of Donna Trussardi. Personally, I didn't like the 82 version, but I loved this version, hard to find now,and the current version that I call the Young Gaia. If you are a strong, determined, sober woman, oriented towards a high career and strength and who does not dream with open eyes the version of 94 is yours, if you are strong, dreamy career woman and you know how to tear with a smile on your face the enemy try the new version.

Lovely scent but lgoes to barely a skin scent in less that an hour. Sad.

So incredibly lovely. Though this is a complex fragrance with some other notes detectable, this really is all about the rose. A green slightly bitter decaying rose in a garden after the petals have fallen and been covered with dew.

I was hoping for a powerhouse, after reading that this is like vintage Diva by Ungaro. Sadly, no, but it certainly shares DNA! It's like a chimp to human connection. Softer, more round and cuddly than Diva. Doesn't last long and not very big projection, still is enjoyable. I sprayed and it was gone 2 hours later. I have the original formula, purchased as vintage on eBay.

Update: sold. Not worth the time on skin.

I have a mini of this. It is very reminiscent of Trussardi for women (white leather bottle) but with less longevity. I dabbed two hours ago and there's very little left, I really have to violently thrust about to get a whiff of it. Classy, floral chypre, very 1980s in my opinion, even though it was created in 1994. Just wanted to point out that the 2011 version, which I also have, has nothing in common with the original. Very light and fresh rose on the new one and nothing of the "1980s" of the original.

ailito44

I liked a lot Trussardi's Skin...and said to myself ...why not try this one? A definitely more comfortable feminine smell, easier to adopt. Maybe not singular but very elegantly floral with a sexy hint of freshness. For beautiful girls and ladies and maybe even more for women who feel beautiful on the inside. Too bad that it does not last long enough to prolong this nice, warm perfume who covers you in a soft flowery royal embrace.

Delila

Same old 'old'. Screechy aldehydes mixed with soapy-sourness. Also an unusual dizziness-inducing effect that is not pleasant.

I really must stop buying vintage samples based on Love/Like bars, because...
1 in 10 turn out to be nice and wearable.
2 out of 10 are not unpleasant, but odd.
7 out of 10 have the same stale smell, or are aldehylic and unwearable.

It's a terrible ratio. No more!!!

Note to self: If I had trusted the notes votes (Aldehyde + Sage dominating) instead of the reviews, I could have saved myself the discomfort of experiencing Donna. My bad. Pay attention to notes votes!

(BTW, I'm 48. Not a young'n.)

This fragrance is a spicier Diva by Ungaro. The opening is decidedly masculine with that sage note which I've experienced in men's colognes, coriander and ginger layered with citrus. It smells so good. The floral heart is composed of jasmine, ylang-ylang and rose which are each fragrant and mature smelling, heavy but sweet. The base notes are what really makes this fragrance a winner. It has every single ingredient that a good strong and beautiful perfume should have: it has aromatic styrax and patchouli, incense, myrrh, benzoin, woods and musk. This is a full bodied fragrance. It's luxurious, sophisticated and the slightest bit seductive. This smells like something on Mrs. Robinson from The Graduate. It's not for the teen girl but her sexy mother who can still get her daughter's boyfriend for herself. Sexy and lovely at the same time, formal and classy but with a spicy naughtiness. I love this perfume.

Pearlie17, I think you meant to review Trussardi by Trussardi, not Donna. Your review sounds WAY off, vintage or no.

Im a man..

2 word.. On this female fragrance..

"Heaven scent"

Im so adore with this frag.. And like to know who she is..

silverbutterfly

I think it is white flower, retro style. Fresh, but dusty in a good sense. Soft, not that strong punch in a face, just a soft touch. I didn't have it at it own glory time, I have it nowadays , as I like to collect "old school".

nellyrlight

very vintage..classic beauty..i first had it in the bottle shown above..then my second one is in a metal flacon..nostalgic for me

....Oct 14 contd! Loved this perfume so much that I ordered a vintage EDT from EBay.
However this vintage Trussardi, in its original box and with a little certificate of provenence is a different beast alltogether.
The bottle is designed to look like leather, so not like the white plastic bottle shown above.
The perfume notes are of leather, tobacco, animal, and there are various enticing subdued florals coming through the smoke.
Its different to anything I've ever smelt before.
Was so delighted with my "blind" purchase. and the EDT is mighty strong.

Just receieved it! I don't know if it's the original, but it's in the white bottle shown at the top of the page. I do love this perfume, I've got the EDP, and it lingers beautifully. It does remind me of a more beautiful, softer version of Tresor by Lancome,

akats

This fragrance has indeed a vintage feeling. It is mature and strong with full heart and base notes. My first thought when I tried it was that of a chypre floral as I got much of sage, basil and hiacynth which gave me a nice bitter taste. After a while a strong floral heart started to develop and tuberose jasmine and ylang ylang appeared mostly. For a moment I changed my mind and said "this is a pure white floral perfume" but ...soon after, the composition started again to blend its notes, so floral heart melted into a warm spicy-bitter amalgamate with a dash of creamy softness. Nice! The end (after many hours)was less dramatic but still warm and supportive as if the heart notes were drying down theirselves slowly, joining together with the base. Overall, a feminine elegant perfume worth trying and buying from every perfumista!
Thanks Iris_it for giving me the chance to test it.

nellyrlight

this was a gift from my sister some 15 years ago..and I remember wearing it with a lot of love..love everything Trussardi makes and this is no exception..i didn't feel it was too strong for me

BikiniBabe

It was one of my mothers perfumes...need i say more? LOL

Well... lets say some more about this beautiful perfume because it brings back soooooo many memories =)

Its a classic chypre floral perfume that smelled oh so elegant and empowering on my mother. I was way too young to wear it and for obvious reasons its not my kinda perfume. Its a mature womans scent for sure, still... an excellent choice for anyone who likes this category, not to mention its very loooooooong lasting.

Too heavy. I can't stand it, Sorry!

Anisa

Got the tester today....I'm in love, so unique, so classy, i wonder why it's not popular, it a gem, i'm telling no one about it.

LadyRogue

A herbal spicy heavy character that is not for people who like flowery softness and breezy freshness. It's dark, moody and almost borderline unisex.

Ginger and amber are dowsed in labdanum and smoked in patchouli. I can smell a peppery scent (sage?) and in the far cry a rose note clinging onto a carnation that is seducing a lily, trying to persuade me that it's a floral scent too. No, the scent in this bottle is to my nose a spice-bomb that due to the ginger and the far cries of lily has feminine moments.

Suitable for winter, evening and occasions that you want to make a spicy, almost smokey impact and be perceived as businesslike or deeply mysterious in a slightly unisex way. An elegant oriental with a female aura that needs to be found by oriental lovers to really appreciate its note composition.

It's a scent that is not for everyone so try before you buy.
Silage is: "a wonderful mystery wrapped in spicy hints of floral that are not shy" -- Longevity is (as one would expect from such an elegant oriental) a decent 6+ hours.

aber19

I was lucky to receive this fragrance today. It was a smell nice heavy floral, then it changed with the first 40 minutes. The fragrance smels like a fusion mixture of Diva and P/Picassco and it lasts for about one hour. Then you receive one dimensional pine smell after which wears close to the skin after 8hrs. It is a fragrance that you would wear in winter, that is a little different in a good way or something you use to break up your usual collection.

allexa

A heavy, strong aroma for mature women 40++. At first it smells a little unpleasant, very rich and heavily like a fist in your nose, but with time it becomes more acceptable. Still its not fresh or sweet, or flirty. For night, wnter, be carefull with it in the office.

eruetim

I loved wearing this perfume! The brand, the company, the whole thing! Very sophisticated.

lapurrla

When do the aldehydes subside? They are killing the other notes and the smell of soap is SOOO STRONGGG... My head is hurting from it.

Mtsk

the first version of trussardi donna I think was better than this ... my opinion!!!

Eynat

I really want to find a reputable seller that sells this perfume. If anyone knows of a seller that sells the original perfume (not imitation) please let me know :). Is this perfume similar to Trussardi by Trussardi (the one in the white bottle with the leather emblem). Thank you :)

Nuriyarose

i have the EDT ... i like it so much

it start like Enjoy by jean patou and ended like Gucci No3 - and i miss both of them!

crispy rose , very italian..classic !!
there is somthing sweet there that reminde me Honeysuckle note but its not listed here..

imoore

This perfume can make you dreamy, and it is for during day.
Not fresh at all, and nothing like the other cold chypre perfuemes like the big Miss Dior.
Very-very complex and not for teens!
Try before you buy.

LadyJedi

A really feminine and delicate chypre floral scent. The dominant notes for me personally are the rose and lily-of-the-valley and they make the whole composition fresh and transparent. A classic and elegant fragrance for special occasions.
